TRUNEWS with Rick Wiles - Morning Manna - October 1, 2025 - Proverbs 13:11-15 - When Wisdom Guards, and Folly Fails
Episode Date: October 1, 2025In today’s Morning Manna, we reflect on Proverbs 13:11–15, where Solomon shows that wealth gained dishonestly vanishes, but steady labor brings increase. Hope deferred can weigh down the heart, bu...t fulfilled desire revives like a tree of life. We learn that despising God’s Word leads to ruin, while fearing His command brings blessing, and that the instruction of the wise is a fountain of life protecting from death’s snares. Finally, Solomon reminds us that good understanding brings favor, but the way of transgressors is hard, proving that wisdom is always the better path. They'll never leave.
us but i just think it's a respect to say to the holy spirit lead this class teach us all of us

morning manna everyone this is the 8 o'clock hour here on the east coast and for most of you this
is morning but we do have people in different parts of the world that are also checking in with us today
in Malaysia and Philippines, praying for the Philippines today, had a 6.9 earthquake yesterday,
keeping those folks in prayer, and just all over the world. And we appreciate you being here with
us, no matter what time of day it is, where you are. Thank you for joining us for this Bible study
class. We are in Proverbs chapter 13, continue our study here in this chapter. We're going to be
looking at verses 11 through 15 today. So if you got your Bibles, read along with me, if you will. I'm
reading from the King James and I'll begin at verse 11 here wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished
he that gathers by labor shall increase hope deferred maketh the heart sick but when the desire
cometh it is a tree of life whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed but he that
feareth the commandment shall be rewarded the law the wise of the fountain of life to depart from the
snares of death, one of my favorite verses there. Good understanding, give us favor, but the way
of transgressors is hard. Ended with that word hard there in verse 15. All right, Rick, this should be
an interesting study today. Yeah, and we start out with verse 11. It's got a lot packed into it.
King James translation, wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished, but he that gathers by labor shall increase.
The World English Bible, wealth gain dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow.
The Peshitta, Aramaic translation, wealth hastily gotten shall be diminished, but he that gathers little by little shall increase.
And the Septuagint, wealth gotten hastily with iniquity, is diminished.
But he that gathers with godliness shall increase.
So the Septuagint adds the word iniquity.
The other translations are saying fast wealth shall be diminished.
But the Septuagin says fast wealth gathered through iniquity is diminished.
Let's see what we have here.
King James uses the word vanity.
Vanity means, you know, obviously vain, empty, superficial.
The word that's used here can mean fraud, dishonest,
through speculation,
get rich,
quick schemes,
perhaps it takes in gambling.
You know, it's quick wealth.
What is teaching here is that
quick wealth, quickly obtained wealth,
is unstable.
It flies away.
In fact, that's what we're going to see in the 23rd chapter of Proverbs.
Proverbs 23, verse 5, says, will thou set thine eyes upon that which is not?
For riches certainly make themselves wings.
They fly away as an eagle towards heaven.
So this is teaching us that God's blessing.
is not on wealth that is obtained quickly.
Now that does not include an inheritance as, you know,
it's talking about schemes to get money without working.
The internet is filled with schemes.
By this course, you'll be rich.
Yes.
The only one's getting rich.
are the people selling the courses so he doesn't bless quick wealth and therefore it will not last long
jeremiah 17 verse 11 as the partridge sitteth on eggs and hatches them not so he that geteth riches and not by right shall leave
them in the midst of his days and at the end at his end shall be a fool so jeremiah is saying quick riches
obtained dishonestly he said by not by right you know by shady means it's like a bird sitting on eggs that never hatch
right and at the end of your life you're a fool
how many stories have we heard over the years about people that win
the lottery jackpot 100 million 300 million dollars whatever
and two three four years later they're bankrupt
they're divorced their families are split up
They might be a drug addict by the, and how many times have I have seen people who've said,
I wish I never won the lottery.
It destroyed my life.
The reason is they were not mentally and emotionally prepared to handle that much money so quickly.
Right.
But when you're working and you're laboring and you're productive day
after day after day
you grow
you're growing
with your wealth
right with your
with your
your financial resources
you're growing along with it
but when you just
have money flooded into you
like a lottery
you've done no
spiritual and emotional
growth in maturity
and then the money's gone before you know hey and everybody that wins the lottery will tell you
they've they suddenly found cousins they didn't know existed okay people started coming to them
with hard luck stories or business plans okay and little by little they gave away the money
or they invested it in schemes and lost money.
So spiritually, wealth that's gained without righteousness leaves the person's so impoverished.
That's what this is teaching.
This is not against wealth.
It's against wealth obtained without righteousness.
In fact, Proverbs is teaching you to be wealthy.
Yes, but there's a pathway.
There's a right way.
Gathereth by labor.
Okay?
The wealth is gathered by labor.
But he that gathereth by labor shall increase.
Gather by labor means gradual, steady, honest industry.
You're working every day.
You're productive.
You're diligent.
You're faithful.
You're not trying to cheat anybody.
You're not on a fast track to get somebody's money.
God honors hard work.
He honors faithfulness.
he honors diligence if you just have a you know depending on what age you are right now
but if you're still in the workforce well now look you know i'll just say look at your breathing
you still can do this yes it's forget about age start today if you have a steady plan a plan for steady
growth if you're diligent you
work the plan and the Lord's favor is on you you will your finances will be different 10 years
from now than they are now and Rick I can't tell you how many times I wish I wish when I was in
my 20s or even my 30s that I really had that knowledge it wasn't until my early 40s I really
started understanding that and now thank God
that I've been doing the right thing since then,
but I would have been so much better off
if I had learned that earlier.
I don't blame other people.
That's my own fault for not seeking up the information
and not applying that.
I probably heard it, but just didn't do it.
But it didn't come to heart until you got completely broke
and you say, you know, I've got to change things.
Exactly. I'm with you, Doc.
You know, I had no mentors.
I didn't have anybody teaching me and advising me and guiding me.
Now I look back and I see God's hand on my life even when I wasn't saved and he was steering me in certain directions and I would foolishly get out of the path he set me on.
and then I'd struggle and flounder and I somehow get back on that path you know now looking back
I realized oh that was the Lord he was putting me back on that path on a career path and and when
every time I was on that career path I prospered every time I got off of that path I floundered
and I did that for years until I finally learned you know
I should stay on this particular career path, which for me was media.
I did other types of work, but every time I got out of media, I floundered.
Every time I was working in media, I prospered.
That was the career path God had designed for me.
But I was foolish in those early years.
So small, consistent.
Distant gains build security, and it builds character.
See, your journey in life, God has a promised land for each one of us.
Each person's promised land is personalized.
My promised land is not yours, and yours is not mine.
God has a personalized promise land for every person on earth.
and he desires for you to dwell in that promised land
but this is what I've learned
the journey
to the promised land
and to secure the promised land
and to conquer the enemies that are in your promised land
and to dwell there and to rest there
requires
significant deep
change us in our character yes absolutely and what i've finally realized doc is that you and i and all of us
as humans we're interested in the destination i i want to get to my promised land and enjoy it okay
that's what we're after god's god has a different perspective he desires you to get there but he's more
interested in how your character is shaped and moated in the journey to get there he's using the
journey to change you so I can tell you after many years submit to the king submit
surrender let him shape you right and that growing of wealth a step by step
depth, you know, when I say wealth, I'm not talking billions, it could be, you know, but
wealth, you know, can be relative depending on what your needs are and where you're going to
be and what God has for you and everything.
To me, wealth is God's supplying everything you need to accomplish the mission he's set out
for you to do. But there's also that internal wealth that God is looking to create
you as well. And there's no instant change in us.
know that there are people that have dramatic conversions, but the reality of the situation is
that we're disciples. We learn over a long period of time. And I can't tell you how many times
I've had to go back to my alma mater, the school of Hard Knocks, where the school colors are
black and blue, and learn and take another course, sometimes a repeat course of something I already
learned and so but eventually it gets through my thick skull and my callous heart and changes take
place but it's usually over great periods of time and then it becomes part of you that's right
but once it becomes part of you you don't have to relearn it right so gathereth by labor
That's gradual, steady, honest industry, effort, hard work, patience, faithfulness, leads to success, increase, and lasting prosperity.
Small, significant gains build security and character.
You know, Doc, I just thought about this.
When I was a young, very young Christian, you know, I, in those early days, I was in the charismatic Pentecostal circles.
Okay.
I'm not speaking against them.
I'm just saying that's where I was at at at the time.
And I remember Christian leaders in my community who were in those same church circles, okay?
other the church I attended, other charismatic Pentecostal churches, they were always warning
me as a young Christian, I'd bring up, say, the Presbyterian church or the Lutheran church
or the Methodist, and it would always be rigged out, just, you know, I would recommend you
stay away from those churches.
They don't have the Holy Spirit.
That's what I was told.
They don't have the Holy Spirit.
They don't have the Holy Spirit.
No, they don't believe in the Holy Spirit.
They don't have the Holy Spirit.
Okay.
It was a lie.
It was an absolute lie.
You can't be saved and not have the Holy Spirit.
And, Doc, over years, over years, I finally perceived something.
And that is that most of the people in the charismatic Pentecostal churches that I had
attended or were associated with were not financially successful and they were also their lives
were not stable there was a lot of instability in their lives and then I looked
across town at the Presbyterian Church and the Lutheran Church and the Methodist Church
and the Baptist Church and I realized you know a lot of their members
own this city yeah they're driving better cars than the folks over they own the businesses
they own the businesses they're employ they are employing the pentecostal and charismatic
and wait a minute if they don't have a holy spirit how come these anglicans have so much money
that was a light that came on in my head okay and i realized no thing
they're steady the Lord is blessing their steadiness their diligence their faithfulness
don't say they don't have a holy spirit that's spiritually arrogant to say something like that
what they really were saying is they don't speak in tongues and hoop and holler and jump around
in a church service and run up and down the aisles that's what they're saying
I got to the place where I said,
I'm not sure if people who do that have the Holy Spirit.
I got a spirit, but I don't know if it's holy.
So the Lord blesses faithfulness, steadiness, diligence,
gradual, steady, honest work.
Maybe what I'm saying, I don't mean to offend anybody,
but it might be an eye-opener to some people today.
You might be associating with broke people
who are always going to be broke.
If that's the case, you need to break away
from the broke people.
Because you become like the people you associate with.
That's right.
better take that to heart folks spiritually steady growth in grace and obedience leads to true
richness in christ what are you and i doing every day five or five days a week 12 months a year
we're now entering this morning man of Bible study as it presently is organized we're
we're now in our what we're entered I guess our third year right yes three years we're
this is steady grace steady growth in grace none of us are the same as we
were two years ago we're growing in grace and that leads to true riches in christ so diligence
when it is linked to god's blessing produces fruit that endures throughout your life
God honors honesty and diligence, but he frustrates vanity and dishonesty.
That's what it's saying.
He's not condemning wealth.
He's condemning the method to acquire it.
If it's not done through righteousness, then it's not blessed by God.
He doesn't bless sure.
shortcuts. He blesses steady obedience, faithfulness, diligence. You never see these, this teaching
in success books. Why? Because people buy success books because I want to get rich fast.
Right. You tell somebody in a book, hey, this is going to take you years. There's going
a lot of hard work, there'll be a lot of changes in you. I don't want that book. I want the
book that tells me how to get rich fast. But God blesses slow growth. That's what it comes down
to. He blesses, when I say slow, steady, incremental. I remember, I remember, I remember
remember when the Lord told me, I'm going to say 2011, the Lord told me this ministry is, he told me,
just eliminate thoughts that this ministry is going to become super abundant quickly.
It's not going to happen.
I'm going to bless you incrementally.
And that's exactly what he did.
We grew month by month year by year.
And so I just got out of my head back there in 2011.
You know, the word's going to drop some amazingly huge amount of money on us.
It's not going to happen.
I'm just telling you right now, it's not going to happen.
I'm going to bless steady growth okay because the Lord had he knew I thought I was ready for it
but he knew I wasn't he's like no I got changes I got worked I got some I got some remodeling to do
inside you Rick and you and you and your ministry will grow gradually all right you there'll be a parallel
tracking and that's the way he does for all of us he's a good father okay true riches are built
little by little it's prayer upon prayer act upon acts sacrifice upon sacrifice
obedience upon obedience let's see what the commentator said Albert barnes
Presbyterian born in 1798 the common
Contrast is between the rapid, reckless acquisition of wealth and the slow, sure increase that comes through honest toil.
So, Doc, back there in the early 1800s, there were people trying to get rich quick.
Yes.
Alexander McLaren passed away in 1910.
sudden riches are like sudden flames they blaze and die the slow steady increase of honest work
alone endures yes william are not free church of scotland passed away in 1875 the stream that swells
suddenly runs shallow the brook that gains slowly endures so it is with riches and grace
yes robert horton congregational churches of england wealth by vanity is unsubstantial gained without toil or truth and passes away but diligence honest and faithful secures both increase in peace verse 12 hope deferred makes the heart sick but when the desire comes it
is a tree of life.
Subtulgent says,
Better is he that begins
to help heartily than
he that promises and leads
to hope, for a good
desire is a tree of life.
Hope deferred.
Deferred
means delayed,
postponed,
stretched out. It's not denied.
it's not hope denied it's hope deferred right hope denied is it's been decreed
whatever you're hoping for is not going to happen hope deferred is it's going to happen
it's going to happen but not on your timeline so hope deferred said it means postponed
it not not it's not gotten rid of it's just delayed yes so hope it's longing for something
longing I mean not just wishing this is deep heartfelt longing longing for
deliverance longing for healing longing for reconciliation longing for financial prosperity and when
that longing is delayed it weighs heavily on the person's spirit and when hope is postponed
it weakens courage and it troubles faith and it produces inner grief
And that sickness of heart can lead to discouragement in patience.
It can, if it goes on long enough, it can lead to despair.
But when the long four blessing arrives, the joy revives the soul like a tree.
A shady tree revives a weary traveler in the sun.
Like a spring of water revives a thirsty person.
So this is a tree of life.
Right.
But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.
The tree of life in the Bible is a symbol of life, of joy.
of eternal joy of nourishment yes so spiritually this points to Jesus Christ because
he is he is the true of life in whom all desires are met yes he is both the hope
deferred and the tree of life amen amen so waiting is part of God's design
there's a timing to God's plan in our lives and we we do ourselves a disservice by getting worn down by
waiting and the timing and everything and wondering why God doesn't work on our schedule
God has a schedule he has his plan and his timing how many times Rick have we gone through situations
or had to make decisions and yet we've had to delay them until the right time the perfect time
came along if we'd made that same decision a day before a week before a month before even a day
before sometimes it could have meant you know thousands of dollars or a major change or
but finding out the the hope fulfilled god's timing provides life
I shared with Doc yesterday that the Lord spoke to me over the weekend
and we are we are building a new platform
the faith and values platform that you're using right now
is going to change in January
and what's coming is much bigger and better
and the Lord revealed to me over the weekend
he reminded me of a mother and daughter from Colorado who came to see us 10 years ago
and they came to visit because they had a word the mother was just
just burning up with zeal to deliver this one sentence to me three-word sentence
and she had to do it in person
I mean, I was like, you came from Colorado here to Florida to speak three words to me.
Yes, she had to do it.
She had to get in.
I still remember that morning.
Do you remember that day?
Oh, I remember it very clearly.
And she said, I don't know what it means.
I just know the Lord told me to come to Florida and speak this to you.
I said, okay, speak it.
Here it is.
I'm waiting like, what is this going to be?
she said the Lord says to you build it bigger that was it
and she delivered her message
and I never saw her again
it was it she fulfilled her mission
build it bigger
so over the weekend the Lord reminded me of that
that moment from
2015 and he said Rick
you are now building, which you started in 2015, build it bigger.
Yeah.
And unfortunately, he had to move some people out of the way in order to build it bigger
because they didn't believe it could be built bigger.
That was a problem.
I couldn't get enough people on my team to see the vision.
Also, the technology wasn't there.
Right.
so there once again there's that timing that's timing and so now we're actually doing it
and i didn't even realize that we are now doing what we started 10 years ago to to do in 2015
and i thought i i missed it i thought well i just i didn't i didn't accomplish it no you're doing it now
right this is the time and build it bigger build it bigger than what you're
building right now my hope was deferred it made my heart sick but when the desire comes there's joy joy in the
morning john gill baptist passed away in 1771 he said when good things hoped for are delayed the mind is troubled and
grieved but when the thing hoped for is enjoyed it is a matter of
exceeding joy and refreshment like the tree of life.
Alexander McLaren Baptist
disappointment sickens, but fulfillment satisfies.
The proverb points beyond earth.
The full desire is only in God, the true tree of life.
William are not.
The human heart droops when hope is long delayed,
But when desire comes, the heart revives as if fed by this tree of life itself.
Robert Horton, Congregational Church, the proverb touches all human experience.
Deferred hope weakens, but fulfilled hope strengthens.
Only in God is desire perfectly fulfilled.
so what do we see here in verse 11 verse 11 wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished that's the negative side the positive side is he that gathers by labor shall increase and then in verse 12 it's hope deferred makes the heart sick but the positive is when the desire comes it's a tree of life
so verse 11 deals with possessions
verse 12 deals with expectations
it's good at 13
whoso despiseth
the word shall be destroyed
but he that feareth the commandment
shall be rewarded
world
English Bible, whoever despises instruction will pay for it, but he who respects the command will be
rewarded. The Aramaic Peshita, he who despises the word shall be destroyed, but he who reveres the
commandment shall be rewarded. And the subtoigant, he that slights of matter shall be slighted of it,
but he that fears the commandment has health.
he that slights the matter shall be slighted of it yes what does that mean dog if you treat
something slightly if you slight something what does that mean that means you're just
it's just cast off it means nothing to you yeah it has no value to you well guess what
if you treat the word especially the word like it doesn't matter to you guess what the
word's not going to matter to you right so when it says the word it means the word of god
there's a danger in despising the word and in slighting the word there's are two different things
some people despise the word of god they despise the bible they they would spit on the
Bible. They mock it. They hate the Bible. They scorn. They reject. But then there are others who
slight the Bible. Yes. Yeah, yeah. It's an old book. It's ancient literature. That's what it is.
It's just ancient literature. Or I know what the Bible says, but this is reality, folks.
Yeah, this is the 21st century. We're not living.
BC. This is the 21st century. And they've even changed in modern times. They've even
changed A.D. and B.C. Because it refers to Jesus Christ. Before Christ and after Christ.
They've changed it. They've now made it common error. Why? Because they
they slight Christ or they despise Christ.
What this says is contempt or disregard for the Word of God
will lead to ruin, to moral collapse, to spiritual blindness,
and eventually eternal destruction.
Ignoring the Word of God is not harmless.
It is active,
rebellion against your
maker
there are so many
self-confessing Christians
who do not have a hunger
for the word of God
they don't read the Bible
they don't listen to we have so much technology today you can listen to the word of god
you can have it on your phone the word is available through many means and methods
and i see the christians who never study the word they don't have a hunger for the word they're
slighting the word and it is quiet rebellion against god it's quiet rebellion
you can't say you love god with all your heart mind and soul and not desire his word
it's impossible i'm not the anyone who's the anyone who
thinks this way i heard terrell stanley say it i i heard adrian rogers say it and those were two two baptist leaders
that i i highly respected many people perish from ignorance
this. Many people, they perish, not from ignorance, but from despising the truth that they've
heard. It's one thing to be ignorant of the Word of God. It's another thing to hate the Word of
God. Because to reject the Word is to reject Christ. He is the Incarnate Word. In the beginning
was the Word. The Word was made flesh. To despise.
the word of God is to despise Christ
to slight
the word of God is to slight Christ
to not hunger
for the word of God
is to not hunger
for Christ
because he and the word are the same
but
so there's the contrast here
the negative is
those who
have no regard for the word of God
will suffer for it
What's the positive?
There's a, there's a contrast, okay?
There's a blessing on those who revere the commandments of God.
To fear.
Fear means to revere, respect, submit.
The commandments of God is God's will revealed to man.
that's all it is a commandment is the will of god revealed to man
and it's binding on the human conscience
in the new covenant error the commandments of god are the sermon on the mount
two times in the history of mankind god stood on the mountain and delivered
the law twice that's twice the first time mount sinai and moses came down from the mountain with
the ten commandments second time god stood on a mountain was jesus christ at the mount when he gave
the sermon on the mount he gave the commandments of the kingdom so what is this teaching us is that reverence
for God's word brings peace and wisdom and stability and eventually eternal reward.
I don't think you can go through this life. If you reverence the word of God,
revere it, respect it, and obey it. I don't think you can go through this life and not be
blessed. Goodness and mercy will follow you.
all the days of your life
every time you look behind you there'll be goodness and mercy
they're going to jump on you
just get all over you
I mean are you going to say I don't
I don't want to be blessed I don't want to be rich
of course no you're not going to say it
it's just going to come on you you don't have to do anything
you already did it you reverenced the word
that's what's bringing
the prosperity on you. It's not using the word to get rich. It's reverencing the word and God makes you
rich. There's a lot of people teaching how to use the word to get rich. Well, isn't that true?
That's not it. It's reverence the word of God, obey the commandments, be in the presence of Christ,
and he will automatically bless you.
These people that teach this stuff,
they're really not in love with God.
They're not in love with their heavenly father.
They're in love with what he has.
You got it.
They're in love with what Almighty God possess us.
And they they hunger for it.
And the true test of that is, you know, ask them what their opinion is of righteousness and holiness.
They have no value on that.
They place no value on that.
But you talk about money.
You talk about getting wealthy.
Suddenly their eyes light up.
They got a smile on their face.
And they start quoting scriptures.
Yeah.
Because they see scriptures as a religious.
tool to become rich yeah but they really not thirsting to be in the presence of their father
well matthew henry the old presbyterian who lived in the 1600s he said he that condemns
god's word shall be destroyed by the judgments of god but he that fears the commandment stands in all
of it and studies to conform to it shall be rewarded
Albert Barnes
the proverb brings out the sharp contrast
contempt of the word brings ruin
reverence brings reward
all depends on the attitude of the heart
toward divine teaching
John Calvin
to despise the word is to cast off God's authority
such contempt cannot go unpunished but the reverence of the commandment draws god's blessing
Alexander McLaren the word is life or death to us according to how we treat it
neglect it and you despise it reverence it and you live
robert horton the contrast is absolute contempt for the word leads to destruction
reverence for the command brings health and blessing
make your own journal
things to do to be blessed
see if in these bible studies if you would just keep a journal
okay i learned today
this i'll i'll have destruction in my life if i do this i'll have blessing and make a journal
and then every week go through the journal and keep looking at it remind yourself okay that's
right we learned that we have to do this i need to have reference for the word
proverbs 14 we've got two more here 14 king james the law of the wise is a fountain of life
to depart from the snares of death.
Modern English World English Bible,
the teaching of the wise is a spring of life
to turn from the snares of death.
Septuagint, the law of the wise
is a fountain of life, but the man
void of understanding shall die
by the snare.
Yes.
So the law, the law
of the wise. What is this?
It's the word of God.
the teaching the council the instruction the leading of the word of god now we are in the new covenant age
and our commandments are in the new covenant that is what we should be studying yes you don't discount the old covenant we're in the old covenant now with the book of
Proverbs. These Proverbs are ageless. They're timeless. But they always point to Christ. Yes, they point to Christ. And Jesus himself said, the water that I give to you shall be a well of water springing forth into everlasting life. You've got to know that Jesus was referring back to this very verse in Proverbs. Yes. And Doug, as you know, you have coined the phrase,
you know old testament christians
the modern church has
whether you want to call them judiizers or or what
if people who are trying to get people to obey the old covenant commandments
right the law and i was conflicted for years because i
I was afraid I was disobedient.
So it was based on fear, wasn't it?
It was based on fear.
I was afraid that I was breaking commandments.
I wasn't keeping, you know, the law,
wasn't keeping, you know, the various things
that people would try to put on you.
And then finally, the Lord got through my head, son.
You're in the new covenant.
Just obey what I said in the new covenant.
And my life changed.
So when it says the law, it's not talking about Moses's law.
At that time, it was because that's when this was written.
But in the modern sense, it's talking about the counsel of God to the church.
Yes.
It says wise teaching about God's commandments is like a false.
fountain so it's it's talking about wise teaching okay the law the wise is a fountain of life okay
so it is what is a fountain of life it's constant it's refreshing it's abundant it's life
giving it it says that all wisdom flows from god he is the source of all life instruction in
the ways of god not only informs us educates us but it revives us it renews us it sustains us
why because christ is the living waters it's a fountain of life what's a fountain of life ever-flowing
it's not a stagnant pool
it's ever flowing with clean
sparkling clean water
that revives you
nourishes you
it provides
deliverance from the snares of death
wisdom leads to life
folly leads to ruin
that's what we've been learning in all of these chapters of proverbs two paths the path of life the path of death
the snares of death the traps the traps of death temptations sins false doctrines wrong paths
Satan is constantly trying to get us to go in that direction.
He doesn't have to worry about the people who are lost.
They're already on the wrong path.
He's upset about the people who got on the right path.
I got to trip them up.
I got to fool them.
I got a seduce him over here to the wrong path.
That's what's going on in our lives.
your life, my life, it's Satan trying to get you off this path of life.
Wisdom equips a person to recognize and avoid and escape Satan's traps.
Wisdom gives us discernment.
It guides us away from danger.
It takes us to safety.
Charles Bridges, born 1794.
The instruction of the wise is a spring ever-flowing,
refreshing and quickening the soul,
guiding it away from the snares of death.
Blessed fountain opened in Christ himself.
Albert Barnes, teaching is not stagnant, but living water.
It preserves from snares which destroy.
life flows where wisdom rules
praise God
William are not
the fountain flows to quench thirst
to cleanse defilement
and to turn aside from snares
wisdom is not a cistern but a living spring
and Charles Spurgeon
Reformed Baptist
passed away in 1892
drink of this fountain oh soul and live wisdom will guide thee past the snares of death christ's teaching is the river of god full of water
okay one more verse 15 king james good good understanding give a favor but the way of transgressors is hard
Good understanding brings grace, but the way of the faithless is hard.
Septuagint, good understanding gives favor, but the way of the faithless is difficult.
So good understanding.
What is good understanding?
It is discernment.
It is knowing how to apply wisdom in the practical affairs of life.
Right. So probably a good English word would maybe be prudence or discretion.
Yes. I mean, it's beyond understanding. It's good understanding. You can understand a situation, but then there's a prudence or discretion in how to use that understanding.
That's right. You may know something about a situation, but the application of that understanding, sometimes
requires divine assistance. In fact, it always does, but sometimes we decide not to get God
involved in that understanding. So, Doc, this is teaching us that when we allow the Holy Spirit
to develop good understanding in us, it attracts the favor of God. And God, then not only
do we have favor with the Lord, but then he causes us to have favor with men and
women right so this favor is you know it included it's it's goodwill flowing from heaven and
god will even cause your enemies to be a peace with you right the way of the transgressor go
i was just going to say how many times we encountered people that we've will get an email or a letter
and they'll rake us over the coals for something that we've said or or a decision that we've made
or something like that and then turn around and say and i don't know why i'm doing this but i'm
sending you a gift anyway yeah chew me out and then send a good yeah because even in the midst of
that, that good understanding, that discretion, that prudence is like a worm going through an
apple. It's still getting in there. And they're responding to it. They don't even realize
they're responding to God's wisdom in the midst of it. So what is the way of the transgressor?
It's his or her lifestyle. Yes. It's their habits of life, the way they live. The way they
live the chosen path that they travel on the way of the transgressor and what is this way it's hard
it's hard there's just no other word to describe it i mean you could come up with all synonyms but
the best word here is it's hard there's a thing rick uh it's a you know uh john wayne supposedly
said i don't know if he actually said it or not uh life is hard it's harder if you're stupid
So transgressors, they're on the stupid side of the hard spectrum.
How many times do you see two people of the same age, and one looks 25, 30 years older than the other one?
And what do we say?
He's had a hard life.
She's had a hard life.
The way of the transgressor is hard.
I'll see now people go, well, my grandma had a hard life and well.
All I can say is the shoe fits, wear it, okay?
It's the way of the transgressor is hard.
They look rough.
They just look rough.
life's been hard to them okay so that hardness produces grief and sorrow
let's see what the commentator said adam clark he who has a good understanding is gracious
and gains respect but the way the transgressor is hard
their conduct exposes them to continual difficulties.
John Calvin, sound judgment, springing from the fear of God, conciliates favor.
The wicked, on the contrary, find their way full of trouble and difficulty for their own sin is their punishment.
Yes.
Charles Spurgeon, the man of sound judgment is gracious and wins favor.
But the sinner's way is cruel bondage.
sin is a tyrant its wages or death all right that's it doc for today all right well it's a great lesson
again today rick and once again it's just that practical lesson each and every day that we're learning
that's uh that's how we build our personal wealth not just our wallet but our heart and it takes
a slow, steady diligence in order to continue to build that character.
And for those of you who have been with us on Morning Man in the past several years,
some of you, you have been so faithful in being here each and every day at 8 a.m.
to study the Word of God together.
And I know in my own life, there have been significant changes in my life
studying the Word of God day by day by day. And I'm certain I have great confidence that there
are hundreds today, Rick, that can echo that sentiment, that they have seen significant changes
in their own life in dealing with the practical situations that we encounter day by day.
Aren't you glad we're studying the book of Proverbs? Amen. I like what Harmony said. She said,
my mom had a hard life, but firmly believed and followed God. She had a youthful.
face. That's because she wasn't a transgressor. She had difficulties, but she wasn't a
transgressor. So she had a youthful face. See, God, God was, that tree of life was nourishing
her. Okay. So I'm glad, I'm glad this is blessing people. And just keep inviting people,
encourage new people to come, join the class.
They can't be here at 8 a.m., you know,
point them to one of the platforms
where we stream it during the day
and just introduce them to Morning Manna.
But I will tell you, God willing, coming in January,
there's a morning Manna is going to be supersized.
Okay, it's coming.
We're working on it.
And we got a lot to do in three months.
A lot to do.
Thank you so much, everybody.
We appreciate your support and your prayers.
Thank you for being here.
And one more thing.
Don't forget Rick's new book, Megafire.
OK, Mega fire, America's next fourth turning crisis.
And we've been getting lots and lots of orders for Rick's book.
And currently, it's available on megafire.world.
That's megafire.org, or depending on your search or AI system or whatever,
if you just type in Megafire and Rick Wiles,
they'll take your right to where you can get the book.
So I encourage you if you haven't done so already, get your copy of Megafire.
It's going to help you sort out a lot of things going on in the world today.
It's not a prophetic book, but it's a practical wisdom book examining the cycles of life.
that are going on around us that have been in place since genesis and so i encourage you get your
copy of mega fire today if there's any one criticism i have of my own book it's i may i may have been
too optimistic it's a pretty dire book about war war three but i may have been too optimistic
meaning this.
I was projecting that we had to maybe the 2030, early 2030s.
I'm not sure right now if we're going to make it into 2026.
This is getting very scary.
Ben Wallace, the former Defense Secretary of Great Britain, said yesterday
that that NATO
he said the West must make
Crimea
uninhabitable
what does that mean
unfit for human
habitation
yes
there's only one way to make
a country
or province
uninhabitable
that's nuclear radiation
he said that
in other words we're going to do something in crimea no russian will live there what's
what's wrong with these people unfortunately no one else would be able to live there either
precisely but doc this is the way they're thinking supposedly president trump has given
Zelensky
permission to use U.S. missiles to strike
targets in Russia.
And Doc, the London papers are saying
that Mr. Trump's
sudden change on Ukraine
occurred after his meeting with King Charles.
That validates what I've said since
2022. This war is being run by King Charles. This is his war. King Charles is waging war
against Russia. What did he promise President Trump to get President Trump to swing over to
the war side? What did he offer him? Because Mr. Trump only does things that there's a
transaction you want me to do this what are you going to do so what did he offer him
did he offer tonight him I'm serious did he offer tonight Donald Trump
is it going to be sir Donald Trump yeah but you can only uh become a
night if you're a subject of the crowned i understand that but he he said last year that he was
willing to do that remember yeah i remember and then mr trump told the generals yesterday that he
would like to use the he would like to use american cities as training grounds for our military
training
warfare training
we're going to turn our cities
into
live on-site training
battlegrounds
and he did say that yesterday
this is getting really scary
okay
so I think my book is too optimistic
And then Chris pointed out to me this morning, Doc, that Mr. Mers, the Chancellor of Germany,
he said, Chris said that MERS took Germany to a new security level, which would be, he said, the equivalent of DEF CON 2.
Yeah, they had a terrorist attack yesterday outside of Munich.
And Mr. Mears also said, we, he said, we're at, we're at war with Russia.
Okay.
Germany is.
So, yeah, Bob, I saw that.
Chopper's dropping agents into Chicago.
I saw that last night.
Well, the radicals in our country have turned our cities into battlegrounds.
Yes.
So what's happening is President Trump is simply acknowledging they become battlefields.
So we're going to meet them on the battlefield.
All I'm saying is just listen to the rhetoric, listen to the words that are being spoken by many different people.
a wise man and woman would listen to these words and make plans make appropriate plans and
appropriate plans to me is how do you survive world war three somebody said to me recently
Rick, you're afraid of dying in World War III.
You're filled with fear.
You're afraid of dying.
I said, no, no, I'm not afraid of dying in World War III.
I'm afraid of living after World War III.
There's a big difference.
Do you really want to be a survivor in a land that's been toasted?
Think about it, okay?
Yeah, Venezuela.
We're going to invade Venezuela.
Mr. Trump said it's going to be land action.
Yes.
And Marco Rubio said over the weekend that Maduro is not going to be there much longer.
That's right.
What does he know?
He knows something.
He knows the plan.
Yeah.
Okay.
So we're going to bomb and invade Venezuela.
And we're going to capture or kill.
Nicholas Maduro
we're in World War III
this is the point of the book
the book is telling you with Megafire saying
World War III started
in 2022
right on schedule
80 years and 80 days after the start of World War II
it's the 80 year war cycle
we're in it
so don't keep waiting for war war three to start we're waiting for it to end
that's where we're headed we're headed towards the end of war war three and that's when
the destruction is turned loose so right now we're in we're in the war and god is covering us
in the warfare
If you get this in your mind, you're being covered by the Lord right now as World War III is being fault.
But you can expect to see blackouts, energy blackouts, cyber attacks.
I listened to a podcast yesterday, man, very well-informed talking about what would happen if the Russians cut the sea cables that connect Europe and London with the United States.
and he said 99% of all financial transactions would cease.
The stock markets would have no way to conduct business.
Gold and silver exchanges would be disconnected immediately.
So.
Yes, James, you're right.
It wasn't 80 years because World War I was not part of that war cycle.
Right.
The last 80-year war was the Civil War.
It's 80 years from the Civil War to World War II.
And so you might say, well, what's World War I then?
There are always conflicts going on in the world.
But that wasn't the war.
80-year war cycle.
Right. And 80 years before the Civil War was the Revolutionary War.
Right. So these 80-year war cycles are in existential war crises. In other words, it changes everything afterwards.
Yes.
After World War I, things pretty much stayed the same. But after World War II, the whole world was different.
Okay.
get rich book he he talks about all this in his book lays it all out so there's going to be a new
financial money structure introduced soon i don't know doc if it's coming before the war or
after the war but it's it's going to be announced soon why the fiat
money system of the world is collapsing.
People are excited.
Look at the price of gold.
It's almost at $4,000.
What you're really seeing is
there's no faith in paper money.
Yeah.
There's no faith in paper money.
Right.
Don't worry, folks.
They're going to replace that
fiat with another fiat.
Yes.
It'll just be digital.
Crypto.
They're going to take,
they're trying to take you to a stable coin.
Stable coin.
A stable, an invisible,
imaginary coin that's stable.
You imagine,
it's like jack in the bean stock.
I got some magic beans.
But, Doc,
you go trust it if it's stable.
Right.
Well, if you're
a coma, you're stable.
All right, that's enough news for today.
See you.
God bless you.
Bye-bye.
