TRUNEWS with Rick Wiles - Morning Manna - October 31, 2025 - Ephesians 2:8-9 - Grace Alone: The Gift That Ends All Boasting
Episode Date: October 31, 2025Ephesians 2:8–9 declares that salvation is entirely the work of God—“by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” Grace is the source, faith ...the channel, and both are divine, leaving no room for human pride. In this Faith Friday edition of Morning Manna, Rick Wiles and Doc Burkhart examine the grammar, theology, and transforming power of Paul’s words, showing that salvation is not earned, negotiated, or deserved—it is received by faith as God’s perfect gift. The study concludes with a reverent celebration of the Lord’s Supper, remembering the body and blood of Christ who made this grace possible.Teachers: Rick Wiles and Doc BurkhartYou can partner with us by visiting FaithandValues.com, calling 1-800-576-2116, or by mail at PO Box 399 Vero Beach, FL 32961.MEGA FIRE reveals the ancient recurring cycles of war and economic collapse that have shaped history for 600 years. Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Morning Manna. It's Faith Friday. And this is the day that we set aside each week to study the topic of faith. We need faith. We need to increase our faith. We need to use our faith. We need to understand our faith. And we will need faith to get through the final days until Christ comes. And that's why we,
are giving one day a week to this topic of faith.
So last week, well, let me pray first, and then I'll bring Dr. Burkhart in and we'll begin today's lesson.
Father God, our Father in heaven, Father, thank you for this awesome day.
Thank you for being our father.
You are everything.
Our faith is in you.
and when we are in you we are complete you gave us your son Jesus Christ that we would know him
we would believe in him we would have faith in him we would obey him we would study him
he is your representation to us on earth and so Father we
we acknowledge your son, Jesus Christ, as the rightful king of the universe, and we submit our lives to your son, King Jesus, and pledge our loyalty and obedience to him and his kingdom.
Father, we invite your Holy Spirit into this morning man of class.
anoint doc and I
anoint both of us to teach your word
and may your grace be upon the people to receive your word father
this we ask in the name of Jesus amen
so father doc
last week
our lesson was
on Romans 123
and the topic the title was the title was
the source and measure of faith.
Romans 12.3, just to remind you what we talked about last week,
for I say, through the grace given unto me,
this is Apostle Paul speaking.
Through the grace given unto me,
to every man that is among you,
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think,
but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Now, today's lesson is titled, The Gift of Faith, Grace's Doorway.
And our scripture reading is Ephesians chapter 2, verses 8 and 9.
Ephesians 2 verses 8 and 9 the title the gift of faith the doorway of grace grace's doorway
um doc do you have a scripture there to read okay go ahead all right we are at Ephesian
chapter 2 verses 8 and 9 so if you've got your Bibles go ahead and turn there real quick
just want to send a greeting out to everybody here our friends all over the world
all the way from Australia to Russia, to France, Ireland today,
and every place in between across the U.S. and Canada as well. God bless you.
We are on Faith Friday, and we're talking about the gift of faith today.
Ephesians chapter 2, verses 8 and 9.
I'm reading from the King James.
Very familiar passage,
For by grace are you saved through faith,
and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The Septuagint, almost identical.
And the subtergent is the Greek translation of the ancient Hebrew.
So when we talk about the Septuagint translation, that's what we're referring to,
the Greek translation of ancient Hebrew.
And the reason why we rely on the subtergents, we don't have those ancient,
Hebrew text anymore okay they they don't exist some fragments do but not like
whole collections of them or anything so the only real way we know what was
taught is what the Septuagint tells us okay so sometimes when you're
reading the gospel any of the four gospel accounts and Jesus will quote a scripture
You go back in the Old Testament of where that scripture is found,
and the King James version is not close to what Jesus quoted.
Right.
And the reason why is the King James derived its source from the Latin Vulgate.
And so that was kind of two or three times removed from the Septuagint.
And so that's why it's good to reference the Septuagint because you are getting
back to the most ancient source of Old Testament scripture.
That's a complete record, if you will.
So you could say Jesus quoted the Septuagint.
Yes, Jesus, when he was quoting scripture, he was quoting Greek scripture.
Not Hebrew, not Aramaic, not Spanish, but not English, but Greek.
You're messing people up right now, Doc.
I know it.
Yep.
So let's look at this.
The Septuagint translation is, for by grace, you are saved through faith,
this is not of yourselves, but the gift of God, not from works that no one may boast.
Well, let's begin today's lesson by talking about the Greek word translated as grace.
It's spelled C-H-A-R-I-S.
It looks like you would pronounce it as charis.
Right.
But it's caris.
Just think when you see it, it rhymes with Paris.
Right.
And you may see that word from time to time.
For example, if you follow Andrew Womack.
Good man, I like Andrew Womack.
His Bible College.
is called Karras, Karras Bible School, Bible College.
Okay.
You know, it means grace.
So in Greek, Keras means grace,
but it carries a broader meaning of favor,
kindness, beauty, a gift.
So there's a grace in the Greek culture,
there's grace that conveys joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness, gracious speech,
goodwill, loving kindness.
I could go on.
It's a good word.
In Christian theology, grace refers to the merciful kindness of Almighty God that he's
He bestows upon humans to turn them toward his son, Jesus Christ.
This divine energy, this substance, whatever form we want to describe it, called grace,
gently persuades sinners that they need a Savior.
And grace leads them to the cross to be saved.
Without grace, none of us would be saved.
Amen.
But after salvation, grace keeps us.
Grace guards us.
Grace preserves us.
Grace strengthens us.
To grow in the knowledge of Christ.
you've heard my testimony when I was young man just shy of age 25 I was still 24 and how how the Lord led me to the cross literally started by audibly hearing my name it gave me a dream about the end times I wasn't even saved I started going to
going to church to figure out what's going on in my life.
And after many months,
suddenly at the end of a service,
the pastor said,
if you would like this free gift,
stand up.
And you know,
what I told you,
I actually truly believed they were going to give me a physical box,
a gift wrap box.
I really did.
But what was the gift?
well there was only one way to find out you had to go up and get it yes it was grace working in me
the gift itself was the holy spirit but it was grace that was working god was
applying grace to my life he was gently steering me moving me walking me towards the cross
grace that when I got up to the front of the church expecting to be hand at a box
with wrapping paper on a bow it was grace that suddenly made me aware that I was a sinner
and on my way to hell I never had that thought once in my life I'm a sinner on my way to
hell I'm separated from God never thought like that ever doc
but it came all over me when I went to the front of the church
that was grace
we've heard the definition
grace is God's
unearned favor
grace is
and I don't know who the original
um
spokesman was
who said that grace is God giving you what you don't deserve
and not giving you what you do deserve.
That's the easiest definition of grace for me.
It is a heavenly fountain of God's love that flows freely from heaven to undeserving
sinners, saved and unsaved sinners.
It's just a flowing fountain.
Grace is coming out of it.
But wait, I can hear some of you saying, Rick, this is
Faith Friday.
We're supposed to be studying faith.
Why are we studying grace?
well that's a good question so a good question deserves a good answer
our foundation verse today is Ephesians 2 verses 8 and 9
for by grace you are saved through faith
this is not of yourselves but the gift of god not from works that no one may boast
so this verse in Ephesians dismantles the notion of human merit
faith is not the cause of grace grace is the cause of faith is the cause of faith
right for by grace are you saved through faith so doc there's a there's a divine order as you grow in
christ as you increase in wisdom you increasingly see in the bible divine order
God desires us to be in harmony with his order
when we are not in harmony with his order
we have disorder in our lives
and we ask him to fix it
so what is his solution
get in harmony with my order
so the divine
order here is grace originates faith receives salvation results grace faith
faith salvation grace comes first salvation
salvation begins not with our human desire to be saved but with the divine
initiative to lead us to salvation right
None of us were saved on our own merit.
None of us were saved on our own initiative.
You did not find Christ.
I did not find Christ.
Christ was not lost.
He wasn't lost.
You and I were lost.
He found us.
So grace acts first.
faith responds second grace builds the bridge faith walks across it right you getting the picture now
grace comes before faith
doc the greek the subtoagin says for by grace you are saved
are saved okay it's um the the tense of this for these words means you have been saved and you stand saved
right you were saved you are saved right you you were it's in the present tense you were saved
you were saved there was a point in time where you were not saved but you became saved
But it didn't end there.
It continues in the present.
I really didn't understand this until many years ago.
A Greek Orthodox priest explained it to me.
And he said, Rick, you Protestants, he's very gracious in a way he said it.
It's like you're missing a lot of things.
you talk about getting saved
he said
I was saved
I am saved
I shall be saved
so
what the priest was telling me
was in his life
there was a day that he was saved
in this
on that day
now present tense
he was saying I am saved now
today
and when I die
or Christ comes first
I shall be saved
we're saved
am saved shall be saved
it's a completed
work
that has continuous results
grace not only
forgives it transforms
and it sustains us.
We really don't appreciate grace
and take advantage of it.
That's why I say grace is like gravy.
It goes on everything.
Hey, are you in a tight situation?
Well, grease yourself with grace
and slide through it.
you'll just slide you'll just be greasy with grace and slide through a tight situation
and people say how did she do that how did he get out of that situation he just slid through
it yeah he greased himself with grace you can roll around in it you can dive in it you can do
anything with it it's abundant in heaven
it's absolutely abundant right and to be clear and because i had a couple of people asking this grace
comes first grace is the first part of this if you will formula uh you really can't break it down into
a formula but if there was a formula grace would be the first component of that formula not faith
faith doesn't activate grace faith responds to grace yes it's god gives us
the grace to use faith think of this grace is the sun s you in grace is the sun and faith is the window
that allows the sunlight to enter your soul grace is the reason grace is the reason faith works
Faith is the reason grace reaches us.
Grace is the reason faith works,
and faith is the reason grace reaches us.
Through faith, not of yourselves.
Faith is the conduit, not the cause.
Faith is the instrument which salvation flows.
Now we're talking about faith, not grace.
Faith, faith is the conduit.
The channel, the pipe, the instrument through which salvation flows, through faith.
Look at the verse.
For by grace, you are saved through faith.
Both are needed for salvation.
Grace and faith.
without grace you will not have faith
so salvation
salvation let me put it like this
not of yourselves okay well let me back up here all right get the flow here through faith
through faith means salvation is received not achieved the phrase not of yourself not of
yourselves says don't even don't even think you had something to do with it or you'll get
proud you'll get puffed up well i i realized i needed to be saved you didn't have anything to do with
it i would have been content to just go on through my life as a sinner because i didn't even know
it was a center he was the holy spirit who made me aware that i was a sinner that was grace
working in my life right so the grace came first that woke me up spiritually my eyes opened up and
I realized oh I'm in a lot of trouble if I died right now I'd be in hell then that was grace
working in me then God gave me God then through grace gave me faith to believe in his son yes
Not of ourselves.
The faith is not from us.
The faith is from God.
Even the act of believing is empowered by grace.
So faith is man.
Faith is the response of men and women.
But it's God's gift.
It's our response, but his gift.
So both grace and faiths are gifts.
And the clue to this is in verse 8, the word it, okay?
That word it, it says, it is the gift of God.
So when you read it, your first inclination is, oh, so grace is the gift.
No, the clue here, all right, in the Greek, Greek is really a marvelous language.
It does a whole bunch of different things.
I mean, there's a reason why God chose to have the New Testament to be written in Greek
because it gives us all sorts of insights and nuances into good doctrine.
So in the Greek, both the word for grace and the word for faith are both what we call in the feminine case.
They're feminine words.
Now, I can go and do a lot of detail about feminine, masculine words.
and neutral words and stuff like that.
But suffice it to say that generally,
when you have a feminine word,
you have to have a feminine agreement
and a pronoun later on, okay?
But what's interesting about this verse is the it here
is in the neutral sense.
Okay, so grace is feminine, faith is feminine,
but the it there is neutral.
and so when paul is writing this he's not saying that grace is the gift or even that faith is the gift
but that grace through faith is the gift the whole package there grace through faith is the it
grace through faith is the it what's the it it's the gift of god grace through faith therefore is
the gift of god you got a dog that's exactly it
it true faith rests on Jesus Christ alone there can be no mixture of works or worthiness on our part
it's in our our salvation is based entirely on the work of Jesus Christ on the cross
we need faith to believe that we don't even have faith we we have to
the faith to believe is a gift.
Yes.
And before we can have the faith to believe, we have to be given grace.
Yes.
But it's the whole package.
It's the whole thing.
In other words, you got nothing to do with it.
That's right.
Except say yes.
So grace is what God uses to deliver faith to us.
And the faith unites our soul.
to Jesus Christ, who is the object, the center of our faith, the author of our salvation,
our Savior, our mediator, everything. It is him. So this removes despair from despair from
those who are spiritually weak, and it removes pride from those who are spiritually strong.
It's a reminder.
The ground is level at the cross.
Doesn't matter who you are.
We all stand on level ground at the cross.
None of us were saved by our own merit.
so faith does not save by its virtue but by its object who is Jesus Christ
not of works lest any man should boast
so salvation excludes human merit entirely
it is holy of grace
from beginning to end right and there are numerous passages that verify this or back this up you got
roman chapter three where's boasting then is excluded by the law of faith uh 2 Timothy 1 9 who
has saved us and called us not according to our works but according to what is grace yes
titus 3 5 not by works of righteousness which we've done but according
to his mercy and that word is also grace in the new testament he saved us so it's all grace
it's it's all grace this should be liberating for people yes that there's nothing you can do
to save yourself nothing absolutely nothing there's nothing and it's it's liberating there's
nothing you have to do except believe yes and even your belief isn't from you it's a gift god and so
when you understand this spiritual principle then you're you're grateful and gratitude is the language of
grace when we are aware that we didn't
do any of us to get to to receive salvation and if there was something we were to do we're not
capable of doing it right it's a gift right and if we were capable of good of doing it we wouldn't
need salvation look pride builds monuments to self faith builds altars to god
God. It's as simple as that. People who are driven, driven by pride, build an altar to worship themselves. People that are driven by faith build altars to worship God.
See, you either say, I did or he gave. Which one is it? The proud person says I did.
right the humble person says he gave
we stay in this
this state of humility
24 7
all the way through our lives
that we did nothing to be saved
other than to receive the gift
to believe on the name of Jesus Christ
so the
the removal of boasting
protects us from deception
and it and it fosters an attitude of perpetual humility.
We just go through life realizing I didn't do anything to be saved
other than to say yes, I believe.
And you know what's so wonderful about this, Doc?
That this formula for salvation works in Buckingham,
and it works in a jungle tribe all humans are on the same ground
King Charles in London can only be saved the same way as a tribal chief in the
Congo can be saved that's right both the king and the thief are on equal terms
at the foot of the cross yes yes
the formula is the same
faith glorifies
God because it
it promotes
it acknowledges and it promotes
dependence on God
so
the saved soul can always
testify
I am what I am
by the grace of God
okay
when you have grace when you acknowledge grace grace leaves no room for for pride for boasting there can only be thanksgiving and praise
well let's look and see what our commentator said john calvin faith brings nothing of our own to god
but only receives from him what he gives for faith itself is a gift not a work
Matthew Henry
Salvation is the free gift of God
Faith is the gift of God
Every part of salvation
From first to last is of grace
And not of works
Albert Barnes
The design of this declaration
is to exclude boasting
Whatever faith accomplishes
it is God who enables it to act.
Amen.
Charles Spurgeon.
Faith is the channel of salvation, not the fountain of it.
The stream flows through it, but the spring is the grace of God.
Alexander McLaurin.
Grace is the divine spring.
Faith is the human act by which we.
let it in even that act is god inspired for without his spirit no man can believe let me get a drink of
water doc i'll give you an opportunity to talk okay well faith therefore according to McLaren is that
faith is not anything that we do not any effort but it's surrender we're giving up we're giving up to
what God has already done. We're emptying ourselves out to God. We're not earning anything.
We don't even make the decision. That's hard for the you and mind to comprehend.
We don't even make the decision except to say, I'm done. I need you, God. That's it.
That's right. So to wrap this up, before we go to the Lord's table for Holy
communion. Let's combine last week's lesson with this week's lesson. Last week was Romans 12.3,
for I say through the grace given unto me, notice. Paul said, for I say through the grace given unto me,
to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but
to think soberly. Don't boast. According as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
So faith is not man's achievement. It is God's allotment. He gives faith to people.
the three things that we learned last week in Romans 12 verse 3 is number one faith is a divine gift not a human invention
number two faith is measured and managed by God's grace yes you see the two working together
faith and grace and number three last week we learned faith must produce humility not pride
the same three principles are present in Ephesians 2 verses 8 and 9
for by grace you are saved through faith
this is not of yourselves but the gift of God not from works
that no one may boast
so let's
we'll look at the two verses
Romans 12
verse three the source faith is is dealt by god it says dealt to every man okay faith is dealt by god
in ephesians two faith is the gift of god right in romans 123 there's a measure
there is measured grace for every saint in ephesians two
they're saving grace for every soul.
In Romans 12, 3,
grace produces humility and service.
In Ephesians 2, it produces gratitude and worship.
In Romans 123, grace and faith is the unity within the body of Christ
in Ephesians 2, glory to God of all grace.
There's glory to the God of all grace.
So grace gives, faith receives, salvation praises.
There's your formula.
Grace gives, faith receives, salvation praises.
Right.
It's a three-part process.
So every believer's testimony is the same.
God gave me faith by grace to believe in him.
I hope this helps you understand how grace and faith work together.
Because so often I think Christians hear these terms and they're not really confident.
and understanding.
But why are we talking about grace here
and talking about faith over here?
They go together.
Yes.
You really can't separate the two.
No.
They flow.
Okay?
Again, think of grace as the sun.
Faith is the window.
God's grace,
his goodness, his love, his mercy,
all this is flowing.
It's the sunlight, it's coming, but faith is the window that lets it come into your soul.
Okay, Doc, that's it for me today.
Let's go to the Lord's table for the Holy Communion.
You know, what's interesting about the Lord's Supper is we honor the Lord's table by faith, don't we?
Yes.
And even that's not of ourselves.
We're responding to what God does through the Lord's table.
It just, you know what?
It just makes me realize today my helplessness in this whole process.
There's nothing I can do to work out my salvation through human effort.
There's nothing I can do.
My only effort, if that is an effort, is surrender.
that's it that's that's the only thing i can do is surrender and we think we've seen that song in church
i surrender all but we really didn't mean it i surrender all except we're saying i surrender some but
you've got to get to a point where you say i surrender all it's your salvation isn't based on what
you've done except your surrender your your walk with christ is is not based on the things you do
the length of your hair how long your dress is how many days a week you show up at church no it's
it's your surrender that's that's all part of this and grace and faith work together as a total
package in that surrender process is right there's there's so much here today folks i hope you take
take some really good information away from this.
Doc, I want to respond to Trish's statement.
She said, I wish this was all written out
so I could study it.
I've tried to explain this to my husband.
I don't think I'm doing a good job.
Trish, we are working to put all of our lessons in book form.
So there will be a printed book and an e-book.
We're working on it.
We're just very shorthanded right now.
and but it's coming we are working on it so hopefully by the first of the year we'll be able to get
previous lessons in a study guide and and then catch up with where we're at that's that's been
the challenge to go back and do all of the previous lessons and then get uh go forward and get
booklets produce before we give the lessons right but we're working on it and with grace by grace
we're going to do it yes it's going to do grace and faith to make it happen yes i've got the faith
and god will give me the grace to believe him and the grace to get the job done okay and that means
that grace means that the lord of the harvest will send people
to us workers in the field to help us with these projects okay okay now we can go
holy communion praise god when you realize you are absolutely helpless in the process here
where you cast yourself down before christ and his merciful love uh it humbles you it it really really
does that there's nothing you're going to do that impresses him nothing you're going to do that's
going to make him say you know oh that wow look how religious you are no god responds to our response
to faith to our surrender and so in our process today of preparing for the lord's table
i ask you to consider the surrender in your own life how many times do you hold
on to a work in your life or something that you think you need to do to impress god or god
just simply says i need you to surrender and trust in my grace through faith that it's my gift
my gift grace through faith those are the things doc that that impress the lord right our our trust
in him and our obedience not only do we
believe him but we prove it by obeying him amen and we we do things by faith simply because we believe
he is telling us to do it and we don't have the wherewithal in ourselves to do these things
but we do it anyhow with his grace we do it with his grace by faith yes
I mean, it should empower you to believe even more.
So it's, well, I don't want to start another lesson here, Rick.
So, but would you pray for us right now?
Because oftentimes we hold on to those things, Rick, that make us religious, make us, you know, that we think we're going to impress God by doing some particular thing when really all he's asking for us is surrender.
yes father we pray in the name of your son jesus christ whom we acknowledge by faith that he is your son
and the savior of the world and you gave us the grace to have the faith to believe and father it is
liberating it is calming to know that we don't have to perform we don't have to do anything
to be your sons and daughters except believe you and obey you and that is liberating
and it brings calmness to our souls that is it was
all settled at Calvary and all we have to do is accept the gift of salvation and accept
the Holy Spirit's indwelling in our lives to lead us throughout life to be pleasing to you
and we don't have to worry and fret but just rest in Christ and that
By grace, you will take us across the finish line if we keep faith in your son.
Father, thank you.
By faith, we receive his body and blood in this Holy Supper.
By faith, we believe that we are eating the flesh of Jesus and drinking his blood.
and that when we do this he will raise us up on the final day
we will be in the resurrection by faith we believe in jesus name forgive us father of our sins
forgive us of our weaknesses our faults forgive us father
and by grace enable us to walk uprightly each day by faith in christ
In Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Praise God. Thank you, Rick.
Had a conversation the other day, someone had asked me about communion, and isn't communion a work?
And I had to explain to this individual. It was an older gentleman that, no, communion is not a work.
You are responding by faith to what Jesus said.
It is an act of faith. It's not a work, but an act of faith.
why is it an act of faith you're believing what jesus said that you are participating in this
holy meal and that you're that you believe that this is his body and his blood and it takes faith
to do that it is not a work a lot of there's a lot of denominations and maybe even some big
denominations that make communion a work but it is not a work it is an act of faith
And that's not of ourselves.
Once again, it is the gift of God.
We're going to pray.
Duck, it is also, communion is also an act of obedience.
Because Jesus said, do this in remembrance of me.
Absolutely.
And when Jesus says, do this, that's a commandment.
Yes.
It's not an option.
Right.
He said, do this.
Yes.
But that doesn't, that doesn't make it a work.
And so you are obeying by faith.
So we're going to pray over the elements of the Lord's table here.
So we encourage you to have bread and either red wine or grape juice as we participate in this holy meal.
And I ask it always that you prepare in advance.
And so we're going to pray over the elements here and ask the Lord to bless it.
And let's participate together in this Lord's supper today.
Almighty God, in your tender mercy, you gave your only begotten son, Jesus Christ,
to suffer death upon the cross for our redemption.
He offered himself and made once for all time a perfect and sufficient sacrifice
for the sins of the whole world.
And he instituted this remembrance of his passion and death,
which he commanded us to continue until he comes again.
And so, Father, we ask you to bless and to sanctify.
with your word and holy spirit these gifts of bread and wine that we may partake of his most
blessed body and blood christ our passover lamb has been sacrificed once for all upon the cross
therefore let us keep the feast hallelujah on the night that he has betrayed our lord jesus
took bread and when he had given thanks he broke it and he gave it to his disciples saying take
take eat, this is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.
The body of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is given for you, preserve your body and soul to everlasting life.
This is the bread of heaven. Take and eat in remembrance that Christ died for you.
After supper, Jesus took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them saying,
Drink this all of you, for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many,
for the forgiveness of sins.
Whenever you drink it, do this in remembrance of me.
Praise God.
Hallelujah.
The blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which will shed for you, preserve your body, and soul to everlasting life.
Drink the cup of salvation in remembrance that Christ's blood was shed for you and be thankful.
Behold the Lamb of God, behold Him who takes away the sins of the world,
and blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
This sacrament is the gift of God for the people of God.
Feed on Him by faith, but Thanksgiving that Christ died for you.
Praise God.
The faith meal.
That's what this is, ladies and gentlemen.
The faith meal.
By faith, we participate in.
By faith, we receive that grace of salvation.
Praise God.
So, Doc, when Jesus said in the book of John,
that those who eat his flesh and drink his blood,
on the last day, he shall raise them up on resurrection day.
And also said, if you do not,
eat my flesh.
There is no life in you.
It's no part of me.
So if you believe this,
then you have faith in what he said.
You have faith in this meal.
And you have faith that you're going to be raised up in the last day.
Yes.
There's a whole bunch of faith here.
That's right.
See, I can be confident that my body will be raised up on the last day
because I can say,
Lord Jesus, I did what you said to do.
by faith
I obeyed you by faith
my claim to salvation
is faith in the words of Jesus
that's my legal claim
to salvation
but Lord I believed you
are you saying
that's not enough
I believed you
see it's faith
faith in what he said
faith in who he is
faith that he is
who he says he is and he will do what he says
he will do
he said he will raise you up
on the last day
do you believe it or not
yes I believe it
then eat his flesh
and drink his blood
because he said if you don't do this
there's no life in you
yeah you have no part of me
nothing
you got nothing
praise God
