TRUNEWS with Rick Wiles - Morning Manna - September 10, 2025 - Proverbs 11:12-16 - The Wisdom of Grace, Counsel, and Restraint
Episode Date: September 10, 2025In today’s Morning Manna, we explore Proverbs 11:12–16, where Solomon contrasts the folly of despising neighbors with the wisdom of silence, the destruction of talebearing with the safety of discr...etion, and the downfall of solitary pride with the blessing of shared counsel. We learn why reckless pledges bring ruin while prudence brings peace, and how true honor is won not by strength or riches, but by gracious character. These verses remind us that Godly wisdom shapes not only our speech and decisions, but also our reputation and legacy. time, but we encourage you if you can to join us live, but we understand schedules may
prohibit that from happening, but we thank you for joining us. Let's get into the word this morning,
beginning at verse 12 of Proverbs chapter 11. And I'm reading from the King James.
he that is void of wisdom despises his neighbor but a man of understanding holdeth his peace
a tail bear revealeth secrets but he that is a faithful spirit concealeth the matter
where no counsel is the people fall but in the multitude of counselors there is safety
he that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it i like that and he that hateth surety
ship is sure. A gracious woman retaineth honor, and strong men retain riches. So we're going
be touching on a number of different topics here in our passage today, ranging from the
words that we speak, how we deal with our neighbors, finances, and having an understanding
of that, and counsel. And so a number of different topics that we'll be touching on this
morning so this should be a full buffet of wisdom today you're right doc it's a variety of topics
all within a few verses so let's start with verse 12 he that is void of un excuse me he that is void of
wisdom despiseth his neighbor but a man of understanding holdeth his peace the world english
bible says one who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom but a man
of understanding holds his peace we'll start with the first segment he that is void of wisdom
despiseth his neighbor to despise a neighbor is to treat them with contempt scorn
disregard the bible's telling us here that that attitude reveals
foolishness, folly, not wisdom or discernment.
It's a heart lacking God's wisdom.
Do you have any neighbors that you despise?
In your neighborhood?
Is there anybody that you're like, I can't stand that man.
That woman irritates me.
I mean, who is it?
Get rid of those thoughts.
it's if you despise your neighbor it says you're your void of wisdom yes you know my neighbor here
in my office doc across the hallway I had to ride in the elevator with her this morning
oh sunshine she was so happy this morning I don't know I don't know why that woman dislikes
me she she she hates me because i'm breathing i don't know i don't know her name she just looks at me with
contempt and scorn i mean it's like this is weird this is absolutely weird
she has contempt and scorn for me and i've never talked to her obviously she knows who i am
So I guess she looked up, you know, the name on my office door and found out who I am and said, I don't like that guy.
But I'm her neighbor.
You know, and during the working hours, I'm her neighbor.
Why do people have these kind of attitudes?
You see, I've made up on my, you know, sweetheart, you're not going to intimidate me.
I'm not going to get down at your level.
I'm not going to get down to your level.
In fact, I'm going to do everything I can to bring you up to my level.
You know, I'm going to be super sweet and kind to you,
and it just make you even matter.
Yeah.
And that's what I did.
I just talked to her.
I'm smiling.
I'm talking to her.
You know, the beautiful day out there is awesome.
You know, and she's not saying a single word.
But why do people have contemptual?
and anger towards people especially if you don't know them so is there somebody at your
workplace see that can be a neighbor the person that works near you in your office on the
factory floor wherever you work do you have somebody you don't like you got to get
over that is there somebody on your street or your road you don't like you got to get
over it. Don't let
that stuff get in your heart.
Contempt
often comes from pride and jealousy.
Envy.
Why is it
wrong to despise another person?
Here's why.
No matter how
that other person acts,
maybe they are a real stinker.
really are just a grouchy, mean, contemptible person.
That still does not give us the license to mistreat them or to hold them in contempt and
scorn.
Because they were made in the likeness and image of God, although they're not living
that way, they're living like they're made in the likeness and image of Satan.
But in God's eyes, he made them in his likeness and image.
And so they bear his imprint.
And we do not have the right to mistreat them.
And nobody has the right to mistreat them.
nobody has the right to mistreat you right if somebody is mistreating you you need to stand up for
your dignity don't fight back don't get don't get down on on their level but hold your head
up high and say i'm made in the likeness and image of god my father and you are not
qualified to disrespect me you're not qualified to have contempt
you're not qualified to define me
I'm defined by my father and if you're unwilling to treat me
with respect and dignity I will not have any relationship with you at all
that's where you have to go
nobody has the right to treat another person with contempt and disrespect look we have
in our modern society today we have we have people that are just going bonkers I mean
they're they're they're so whacked out and they're twisted so I'm thinking
of you know
I'm thinking of drag queens
transvestites
don't be mean
don't be mean to them
don't mock them don't make fun of them
they're sad
they're sad
it's it's pitiful
it's just pitiful
treat them with respect
they're made in the likeness
and image of God
Satan has deformed them.
Our responsibility is to bring them back into the likeness and image of God.
Not to mock them, not to reject them, not to despise them.
It doesn't mean you endorse their behavior,
but you can reject their behavior with kindness.
So whenever we despise our neighbor, we fracture a community, neighborhood, a workplace, a church.
A fool looks down on others and mocks them, but the wise seek opportunities to build them up.
so the warning is a very sharp warning here the absence of wisdom is revealed in disdain for others
when you see and hear a person who has disdain for someone contempt scorn ridicule that person has
out at themselves as a fool.
But a man of understanding holds his peace.
A man or a woman of understanding holds his or her peace.
The wise don't speak rashly.
They guard their words with discretion.
To be silence, to be silent is not
cowardness
it's wisdom
wise people choose
restraint rather than contempt
like I
likewise when somebody is speaking to you
disrespectfully contemptuously
scornfully
don't respond
on their level
respond the way I told you
just say excuse me you have a very wrong impression of me you're entitled to your opinion but
i'm entitled to my opinion and i don't accept your opinion that's all you have to say
i'm made in the likeness an image of god the person you're describing is not that's not me
and I'm going to excuse myself from this conversation.
Just walk away.
Just walk away.
If it's somebody in your home, just get in your car and drive away.
Just show them.
I'm not going to tolerate this.
I'm not going to participate in this.
Over time, they're going to realize you've changed.
The old tactics aren't working.
Because they're seeking to disregulate you.
to disregulate you is to throw you off your balance you're confused like what's
going on here why why did this person say this to me and and for hours or all day
you're thinking about it I'm not going to spend all day thinking about this woman
in the elevator why is she so mean I I deserve him and all day thinking about
why is he always smiling in the elevator what's wrong with him he's
always smiling.
What's wrong
that guy? Oh, he's happy.
Why is he so happy?
Why isn't he miserable like the rest of us?
That's right.
Look, she works in a
law firm that specializes
in divorce.
So all day long, they rip
families apart.
No wonder
she's in a miserable state.
I mean, she makes her living ripping apart families.
So understanding others recognizes the dignity of others,
even when their faults are evident,
recognize the dignity of other people.
Even when you can see their faults,
treat them with dignity, restrain judgment, realize that they are sinners in need of grace
just like you.
True wisdom knows the right time to speak and the right time to be silent.
Solomon said there's a time to talk, there's a time to be quiet.
and silence can prevent strife especially you know when you're in the presence of an argumentative person or contentious argumentative person who who wants to start a fight the last thing that they want to deal with is silence you can't fight with somebody who's silent so wise people know just
just be silent don't engage them so wisdom is not shown in contempt for others
wisdom is displayed in careful control of your tongue
what we're seeing here is in this first verse studying verse 12 there's a contrast between folly and
wisdom. The fool despises his neighbor and reveals his or her lack of wisdom. But the
wise man or woman restrains his tongue, shows respect and understanding, and reveals his or
her wisdom. So if you're going to be a true disciple of Christ, you have to honor other people
as God's image bearers and reject scorn
and practice Christ-like discipline of the tongue
which means sometimes silence is necessary to bring peace
again a person who is scornful
critical negative
gossipy
Go down that list of negative.
Every time they open their mouth, they're saying, I am a fool.
That's not something you want to advertise.
If you're going to be a fool, be quiet about it.
Why do you want to tell everybody you're a fool?
So avoid contempt.
Never despise a human because that human is made in God's image.
Just learn to love people as they are.
I like that Texas saying.
Love me and love my dog.
Amen.
Just love people as they are.
love the unlovable mean people are they they act unlovable they're they're hateful but really who
they hate is themselves that's right what's really going on inside of them is a deep self-hatred
that spews out with hatred against other people oftentimes wisdom is is displayed not
by what we say but what we don't say yes guard your heart against pride that belittles people do not
participate in conversations that belittle someone whether that person is present or not
present when you hear somebody who is belittling condemning condoning scorning mocking
another person, excuse yourself from that conversation,
or that stuff's going to get on you.
Amen.
All right.
Let's see what the great commentator said.
Matthew Henry, born 1662.
He that despises his neighbor,
that thinks meanly of him,
speaks scornfully to him or of him is void of wisdom but a man of understanding instead of
despising him covers his faults and so holds his peace yes so doc back in the 1600s
they were mean people yeah how about that there were mockers and scoffers in the 17th century
yeah and matthew henry probably wasn't an obnoxious guy or anything like that at all
no but he ran into them he had he encountered them
adam clark born 1762 he who treats his neighbor with contempt gives proof of his
want of wisdom but a wise man perceiving faults will not expose them
silence is often the best proof of sense yeah i saw another quote by clark he said a foolish man
dwells on the defect defects of his neighbor but a prudent sensible man hides those defects yes
so wise person if that person comes to know of another person's faults
their sins their mistakes their weaknesses that the wise person does not talk
about it but doc what i have found is the fool not only talks about it but actively searches for
more yes yeah seeks it out they'll actually investigate they'll probe and pry to find out
more faults and weaknesses about that person so that they can hurt that person even more
obsessed with tearing down another person, and that makes them a fool.
Why are they a fool?
Because on Judgment Day, they're going to be held accountable for it.
Charles Bridges 1794, contempt is the fruit of pride and the fool's glory.
but the man of understanding is slow to condemn he keeps silence not from indifference but from
wisdom and love and then baptist pastor Alexander McLaren passed away in 1910 he said the fool blurts out
his contempt the wise man restrains his tongue true wisdom shows itself by reverence
for others and by self-control in speech.
Verse 13.
A talebearer revealeth secrets,
but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
The World English Bible says,
one who brings gossip betrays a confidence,
but one who is,
is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret. Amen. A tale bearer is one who
spreads stories, a tale, not T-A-L-E. A tale bearer is one who spreads stories, whether the
purpose of either creating strife or to weaken the victim, the one that they're talking about,
to weaken that person, to reduce his or her standing, influence, reputation, to find a mistake
and then tell as many people about it for the purpose of hurting that person.
that's a tailbearer
the Hebrew word
is Rakiel
it means a slander
a tailbearer
a slanderous person
a scandal monger
as a person who travels about
to tell stories
yeah I like how one commentator described it as one
who traffics in rumors
traffics in rumors
right that is
That is their business.
That is what they do.
That's what they identify with.
They traffic in rumors.
Well, there are tens of thousands of people in Washington, D.C.
who do that every day.
The Internet is full of them.
Social media, social media influencers.
Oh, boy, isn't that the case?
They traffic in rumors.
You know, over my 26 years as host of true news, I often receive calls or emails from people who said, Rick, I've got something you need to know and you need to investigate.
But what is it?
Well, then they'd start to tell me this sordid story about somebody.
Why do I need to know this?
Oh, this person needs to be exposed.
this person needs to be brought down.
Okay, well, you do it.
Oh, no, no, no, no.
You're the one that has the, you've got the platform.
You've got the show.
Everybody's, you do it.
I'm passing on the information to you.
I can't tell you how many times that happened.
And you think I'm going to take this bait?
You're trafficking in rumors.
And you know what?
With the proliferation of podcasts,
and everything today
and TikTok videos and stuff
it is
everybody is wanting that piece of information
that no one else has right
that that nugget
that that little bit of information
that
and doesn't have to be true
no that's it's it's for clicks
I don't know if this is true or not but thus and so
it's for clicks
it's to get more
clicks on the internet and tomorrow you have to have another rumor yeah tomorrow you have to
something more far out yeah that's the way these podcasts work they've got to find something stranger
crazier every day they got to find something to bring people back and bring new ones
So a person who reveals secrets
is a person who betrays trust
and it's a lack of love
because by revealing secrets
you know you're hurting somebody
right
a gossiper, a talebearer
a scandalmonger
magnifies faults what is magnify well if you put a magnifying glass on something it makes it bigger
so they like to make they like to find a fault and make it bigger
they distort truth they add to the story they don't get all the facts but the
the purpose is one or two things to sow division or to bring down a person
to weaken a person, to hurt that person.
And they are under the influence of Satan.
Yes.
I'm just, that's all, I'm not going to sugarcoat it.
If you are a gossiper, if you are a tailbearer,
if you are a scandalmonger, you work for Satan.
Amen, Rick.
he comes to steal kill and destroy
don't participate in that sin
isn't it interesting
the scandal mongers
the tail bears the gossipers
traffic
in information about other people's sins
but they are the biggest sinner
the very thing that they find pleasure in doing is their sin
and nobody reports on them as a sinner as a gossiper
in fact they get TV shows they get internet shows they get books book contracts
our society rewards gossipers
yeah you're right
you know magazines in the old
in the old days of magazines you know when they were big
in newspapers you had gossip columns
or you had gossip magazines
what are these magazines
I guess they're still out there
about Hollywood celebrities and it's gossip scandal sheets scandal sheets yeah people stand
in the grocery store line and they buy these things to read what gossip about somebody else
so another person's weakness and faults and failures becomes somebody else's entertainment
right that's sick that's really sick
gossip ruins friendships it can destroy families it can split churches it's poison it's poison
stay away from it but the second part of this verse is but he that is of a faithful spirit conceiveth the matter
A faithful spirit is marked by discretion, by loyalty, by love.
And a faithful, a person, a man or woman with a faithful spirit does not expose the weaknesses or faults of another person.
This is not covering up somebody's sin, but it's showing mercy and is protecting somebody's.
from unnecessary shame and harm.
When a brother or sister in Christ is weak and stumbles and falls,
the saints should form a protective ring around that person
to protect them from the wolves of the world.
Help that person get back up on their feet.
but so often what happens in the church is that the the church members become the attackers right
it's absolutely contrary to the word of god i don't know there are people probably getting
upset you know i don't know i don't believe this is what the word is telling you
a faithful spirit a man or woman with a faithful spirit
conceals the matter
you just zip your lips
who do you want as a friend
a blabbermouth
or a person who's got your back
and unfortunately
one of the worst gossip mills in the world is a local church and i'm speaking i'm speaking from
pastoral experience on that oh yes and people will do it with with a holiness and righteousness
that oh in the foryer yeah they can't wait they can't wait to get to the church i don't know
if you know this or not but thus and so yes
it's it's usually done yeah doc it's usually done in the in the foyer yeah or the parking lot
or or the uh the banquet room it's done someplace where they they can get a little crowd
and start talking about somebody in the church faithful silence guards trust and it builds
confidence in relationships uh doc about a month ago i was talking to a man and he mentioned a uh a minister friend
of his i don't know what state the guy's in i talked to him one time he he said he
introduced me to him one time and i i asked and said how's how's so-and-so doing you know and he says
oh he's he's operating in a new style ministry i said oh what's that he's he's ministering to
pastors who've had some setbacks and failures and said oh that's that's a good that's a tough work
but that's good and he said oh yeah he just told me about
Reverend So-and-so, and this guy, the guy I'm talking to is talking about another person.
And he's telling me that this guy that is, you know, working in this ministry now to minister to pastors that have had some weaknesses and faults, he's telling me the stories of that person.
I'm like, oh my, that guy's the last person I would want to talk to.
I mean, this guy is already blabbing his mouth.
He's completely unfit for that role.
Totally unfit, unqualified for that role.
If you're a marriage counselor and you blab your mouth to people outside of your office,
you are unfit for that job.
Amen.
You can't talk.
You just can't talk.
I think there are people that go into these roles for the purpose of gathering gossip.
It's like, what better place?
So a faithful person weighs whether his or her words will heal or wound another person.
if that person says you know if i say this it's going to wound somebody's going to hurt them
then the faithful person restrains his or her tongue and doesn't say it
jeremiah 31 verse 34 said in god's mercy he forgives and he remembers sin no more
praise god but there are humans who who desire that others know your sin as long as they can keep it alive
they're fanning the flame they're blowing it out everywhere they want to keep it going and god says
he remembers your sin no more well what if god changed his mind and started remembering your
sins you're in trouble well to tell you these people to do this stuff they want to find the
sins of others and they want to tell others those sins they are in danger of damnation I'm
telling you they they are facing damnation because they showed no mercy
and on judgment day
God will not show them mercy
it's scary
it's absolutely frightening
people with loose mouths
they have no governor on their mouth at all
just say whatever comes out of
because they have anger
bitterness they have all kinds of stuff in their heart
and it just flows out of their mouth
and they just rip people apart
they're facing damnation
Apostle Peter
and 1st Peter 4
he said that love covers a multitude
of sins
he's not talking just about
God's love covering a multitude of your sin
he's talking about your love
for somebody else covering a multitude of their sins
amen
it's
it's like the Lord says
here here's love and forgiveness pass it down the line so we are to imitate our Savior Jesus
Christ who deals tenderly with our faults and he does not broadcast them to others I said a couple
weeks ago I hate that phrase of fell in fell out of grace
there's no such thing correct you fall into grace what's the point of grace if you if you can't use it
when you need it amen what's the point of it when you stumble and fall is when you need grace the most
and yet the church says oh they fell out of grace no they didn't they fell into grace
John Gill
The tailbearer discovers the secrets of families, friends, and neighbors,
and is a very pernicious man.
But he that is of a faithful spirit, one that is honest and upright, conceals the matter.
Charles Bridges, oh, he.
The tailbearer is the tool of sense.
Satan.
So in discord among brethren, the faithful spirit conceals not from indifference, but from
love which covers and heals.
Alexander McLaren, the busy tongue that cannot rest without chattering, is contrasted
with the faithful spirit that silently bears another's burden and covers another's fault.
verse 14
Where no counsel is
The people fall
But in the multitude of counselors
There is safety
In this verse
The word counsel means sound wise
God-fearing advice
Not just opinion
It's everybody's got an opinion
About something
But counsel
In this context
means sound, wise, God-fearing advice.
And so without that type of guidance and advice,
we are prone to stumble and to fall and damage ourselves
and our families, our friends,
those organizations that were involved in,
it can happen to an entire nation.
The fall is moral, spiritual, and practical, but without wisdom, what follows is chaos and destruction.
And what always precedes these kind of disasters is self-will and pride.
But in the multitude of counselors here is safety.
Safety, which means victory.
comes when decisions are guided by many wise,
God-fearing people.
You don't want the wisdom of the world.
You want the wisdom of God.
So multitude obviously means many.
So we're being told to seek broadly.
Get as much godly advice as you can get.
to prevent making a rash, foolish decision.
Why do we need wise counsel?
Because we all have blind spots.
Every one of us, we have blind spots.
Doesn't mean we're bad.
Doesn't mean we're defective.
It just says there's a blind spot.
And we can't see certain things,
but another brother or sister
can see it for us and to recognize it and to accept it that's not a something to be ashamed of
to say oh you're right I didn't see it I'm so ashamed of myself no you just say he's
brother sister thank you for pointing that I didn't see it I've seen I've seen
contracts where I didn't read something in a contract and another person did and say, hey, do you know what in this line? No, what? I thought I read it. Then you're reading, oh, I can't sign that. There's a reason to have this advice. The bigger the decision, the more broadly the community of advice needs to be.
and counselors provide accountability
and if the thing goes wrong
after the decision is made you can always say to your counselors
hey I'll follow your advice
this is the this is the advice everybody gave me
but the main thing that the scripture is trying to tell us
is that the body of Christ the church
is a body. It is the body of Christ. It's not a one-man show. We are a body, and we have, you know,
each of us is a cell in the body of Christ. And we work together, and we have to help each other.
Matthew Henry those are in a dangerous condition that are rash willful and headstrong
and will hearken to no one those are safe that will be counseled and much more
that consult with many wise men Adam Clark he who will not be counseled cannot be
helped those who will
there it is a person who will not accept counseling cannot be helped it will not accept advice
those who will not hear wisdom must reap the fruits of their own folly
Charles Bridges pride scorns counsel and brings a fearful fall humility listens to
many counselors and is established in safety the church
the family of the state all need wise guidance he that is surety for a stranger is verse 15
he that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it and he that hateeth surety surety ship
is sure all right let's read it in modern english he who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it
but he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.
So we learn about surety when we studied Proverbs chapter six.
Surety is collateral.
To get the loan, you have to put up some type of collateral.
And what we learned in chapter six is when you co-sign a loan,
you are making yourself a collateral.
That's right.
You've literally put yourself in as a collateral.
So surety means pledging to cover another person's debt,
becoming legally bound for another person's obligations.
So verse 15 says,
He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer
fort as we learned in proverbs chapter six this was a warning against making rash careless
reckless financial decisions now this is says for a stranger right back in proverbs six
it's talking about friend but for a friend a neighbor so you got two different ones there one for
friend one for a stranger and both of them saying it's not a good idea to be surety for
someone else's debts yes so it says that person shall smart for it that means they're
going to suffer loss they're going to suffer financial pain they're going to
regret it you know that word actually that I don't know if you saw
it in the word study or not, but that word smart there, it makes it sound like you're going to
hurt, like, you know, it's going to hurt a little bit. No, no, no, no. That word smart there is actually
can be translated crushed. Oh, crushed. Okay. Secure at ease. So, hey, and you know what's
interesting about that word, the Hebrew word for the crushed and, or, you know, you know what's interesting about
that word, the Hebrew word for the
crushed, or
the word smart there, is
Botich. We know
a rabbi with
the last name, Boeach.
Oh, is it the same spelling?
Same word.
Smuley Boeach.
So he brings, he's crushing.
Yes.
One who crushed. All you need to know about him.
And he that
hated surety ship is sure again modern English but he who refuses pledges of collateral is
secure so to hate this means to avoid financial pain by making by have exercising deliberate caution
such a person is sure it means he or she is safe secure free from unnecessary entanglements
a wise person knows when to say no even to dire urgent request because they know that pledging themselves
as collateral could lead to destructive outcome
but the most important thing to know here
is that our ultimate surety is the Lord Jesus Christ
right doc Hebrews chapter 7 verse 22
says that Jesus bore our sin debt
on the cross and became our guarantee
her verse 22 hebrew seven by so much was jesus made a surety of a better covenant wow
jesus himself is the collateral of our new covenant with god he bore our debt of sin
and promise god i'll cover it i'll pay for it
it. He did pay for it on the cross. Amen. And he paid for your sickness and your disease. He did
it all on the cross. He became the collateral for your sins, for your sicknesses, for your
poverty, for everything. He became your surety. And he's the only one who can pay the price.
Alexander McLaren prudent forethought is not selfishness but wisdom he who rashly pledges himself for others digs a pit for his own feet
he who declines is secure all right one more verse verse 16 a gracious woman retaineth honor and strong men retain riches now this is
this is an this doc here's that contrast again gracious woman strong men honor riches
there's a contrast a gracious woman the Hebrew word for gracious is cane or con cane I believe
is pronounced as Cain.
It's spelled C-H-E-N, but it's pronounced K-H-A-N-E.
It means to be gracious, graceful, pleasant, charming, elegant, kind, dignified with moral beauty.
That needs to be the template for every Christian world.
woman every christian woman should use this as a template you are to be gracious
graceful pleasant charming elegant dignified kind with moral beauty gentle patient patient
this is the biblical definition of a godly woman
as we'll also can read in
proverbs 31
and we'll eventually get there
this verse says that such a woman
secures lasting honor
a gracious woman
obtains honor
King James says retains honor
keeps it
to me
obtain means to acquire
but retain means to keep
yes
the only way you can keep something
is the first acquired
right
and if you don't retain it
what's the point in acquiring it
so a godly woman is a gracious woman
graceful charming pleasant
soft spoken dignified
gentle patient
and the Bible says that she will
obtain and keep retain lasting honor
respected by family respect it in the community
respect it above all else by God.
Her strength is not physical force, but her gracefulness.
That's her strength.
Her gracefulness, her gentleness is her strength.
She gets things done by her peaceful nature.
Right.
it cannot be stripped away
there are Christian women who were put to death
and they were graceful in death
yes
cannot strip it away
you can't take somebody's dignity away from them
there are people who will try
don't let them do it to you don't let somebody
take your dignity from you
Proverse 31 says
A virtuous woman is worth more than rubies
But what about the strong men?
The Hebrew words here is Arets
Yes
And it means mighty
In great power, physically strong
But it also means
ruthless, dreadful, tyrannical, violent
see there's nothing wrong with men being mighty great have great power physical strength there's
nothing wrong with that but this word i'll reach says not only do they have those virtues but they
are ruthless dreadful violent tyrannical they're aggressive so so is uh do you think solomon's
talking about good men or bad men in this particular verse right
That's what kind of got me.
You know, it's talking about a gracious woman retaineth honor,
but a, in that word strong, could be ruthless.
I mean, that's where it's translated most other places.
Yes, I think it's, yeah, these are not good men.
Okay, that's where I landed on that, too.
They may be successful, they may be rich, they may be powerful, but they're not good.
But they don't retain honor.
they retain the riches they retain riches now you see it yeah now you see it
so riches may be grabbed by force violently ruthlessly taken by strong men but honor cannot be
forced it's a gift that's earned by grace
so the world may admire strong powerful ruthless men hollywood makes movies about them yes
i mean go back through the years rambo the terminator i what what kind of men were
were celebrated violent been but they lack
the dignity of a godly character.
So their wealth is insecure.
Their riches have wings.
And actually, that's from Proverbs 23, verse 5.
Their riches fly away.
Charles Bridges,
the strong man may hold fast his wealth,
but the gracious woman more nobly holds fast her honor.
True glory is the portion of grace.
Gold is but the possession of strength.
I'm going to bring a new commentator in.
William Arnott.
He was born, 1808, died in 1875.
He was a Scottish.
minister
theological writer
early in his ministry
he was a pastor in the church
of Scotland but
in 1843 there was a big
church split in the church
of Scotland and he went with
the free church of Scotland
and his book
Laws from heaven for life on earth
excuse me
he wrote
the jewels of grace are richest which thieves cannot steal the strong man's gold may melt but the gracious woman's honor is hers for life and beyond life
all right doc that's it for me all right well this is a great lesson day and we covered a lot of territory today and a variety of different topics and that's why we're going to see the rest of chapter 11
and kind of developed too it's almost like a collection of individual proverbs rather than one
general theme but if you were to have a theme for chapter 11 it is day to day living based on
wisdom day to day living based on wisdom and how men and women live together work together
deal with their neighbors deal with the poor deal with the rich deal with the obnoxious and uh lord
gives us plenty opportunity to apply wisdom in our daily lives, doesn't you, Rick?
Yes, it does.
And one of these things will probably pop up in your life today or tomorrow.
Yeah.
If it doesn't, go back into Proverd.
I'm sure he'll find something that you'll get tested on today.
You're bound to hear somebody, you're bound to hear somebody gossiping about another person.
That's true.
either online or on life so but now you know what to do with it amen just a reminder folks
counting down to megafire here and so we want to remind you we're hopefully we'll have our
order side up in the next day or two and you can get your copy of megafire this is rick's
latest book america's next fourth turning crisis and where we
We talk about the various cycles, not only that secular writers have talked about, but Rick takes
the cycles that he's observed in scripture and applies it to the world around us today.
The God established cycles back in the book of Genesis.
And so cycles are a part of life about living.
Humanity also follows cycles too because mankind does not change, does he, Rick?
technology changes but the heart of man does not change and so this book
Megafrower will reveal if we have knowledge of that how we can have some
discernment it's not a book of prophecy it's not a book of prediction but it's a
book of having information to discern the times okay to discern the time just
like if you had a table that showed you when the high tide and low tide was
going to occur you'd plan your boat trip accordingly right well this gives you kind of an
idea of those cycles that are going to be occurring over the next few years and based upon what
you observed not only in history but also from the word of God itself so that we'll be telling
you how you can order this in the next couple days I'm going to do everything I can possibly
do today to have that book online today praise God I'd love to be able to tell
folks tomorrow you can start ordering it so that is my number one goal for today and there's a
person i'm going to call as soon as i get off of this uh class and and uh and he's on right now
yeah and so look i don't have this with um a negative but this is a heads up and we need wisdom
folks yes darling it will be an audio but at least i i don't think i can get it done
shorter than three months maybe by the end of the year it just takes time right
it's paperback only it's not hard cover several have asked about if it's a
hardcover maybe at some point in the future we'll offer a hard cover but right now
no no it's paperback it's paperback I'm in keeping the price down as low as I can
yes and hardbacks are much more expensive so it's paperback
James, you get a good question.
Why not let AI do the audio?
You want to know why?
Because Amazon will not permit it.
Audio books must be read by humans as of now.
They're going to change that, I think.
My guess is that Amazon is developing AI voices
that they're going to make the book publishers purchase or rent.
they want to make some money off of it but no we could have the book we could have the book on
audible tomorrow if they allowed AI voices and I even paid a company to clone my voice
gave them recordings of me and they didn't do it for months and they eventually gave the money
back because their their chief speech engineer quit when took another job with another company
and they said we don't have anybody to do this work for you so and even as good as AI is it still
doesn't get the inflections and sometimes it will read words the wrong way and so it you know
there's still a few shortcomings in in that department but have have heart you have faith folks
We're going to head in that direction.
So in the meantime, you can read it.
Yes.
And you can read it out loud and you'll have an audio book.
And please, when you get a copy of it, please do not,
please do not take it upon yourself to make an audio book and put it online.
Right.
Please don't do that to me.
Okay.
So the one thing I wanted to say before we leave here,
And I'm not trying to go out on a sour, depressing note.
But we are studying wisdom, and we need wisdom more than ever.
The book Megafire is about World War III.
But before we get to World War III, we're going to see a mega financial collapse,
which brings on the war, because it's a fight.
fight for survival I have the I have in me right now the same feelings same intuition that I had
before the 2008 real estate crisis we got the same feeling the bank liquidity crisis I've got
that same feeling I knew in advance
it was coming in the past two weeks the lord has really elevated in me the awareness that the storm
is coming quickly i don't want to put dates i don't want to do that um because i don't know i don't have
a word from the lord but i'll just tell you this is what i this is what i'm my personal my personal
analysis of this is and i believe the lord's trying to show me these things i'm going to say for
the financial crisis the beginning of it could be as early as this december
maybe into the spring of 26 i think that's the window is there's going to be a very steep
stock market drop um doc i heard a a very knowledgeable financial analysts say the other day he's anticipating
bitcoin going to 10 000 this year yeah okay this year this year because the stock market crash
will suck money out people will have to sell to cover their their their margins all right they're
they're going to they'll be desperate so you also see you'll see a dropping gold and silver
it happens in every crash the price of gold and silver drops now it recovers fairly quickly
except in the 2008 crash it gold did not recover for i want to say three four years
maybe longer it took years for gold to recover and get back to where it was at before the 2008 crash but in the other crashes gold recovered in about two or three months but it did take a hit and the reason it takes a hit is people sell their gold because they've got other debts they got to pay and that brings down the price I'm just telling you I brace yourself
and the other thing
I'm telling you is
put your
faith and trust in Jesus Christ
Amen. He is your
surety. He is your surety.
Your guarantor.
Be in his presence.
Provision is in his presence.
Just remember that.
Your
vision will be found in his presence giving continue to give in fact step up your giving for the gospel
sake for the sake of the kingdom step it up step up your you're giving to the poor
at times it will it may be sacrificial giving it actually this is hurting to do this
but I'm doing it in faith.
You will get through the storm that's coming.
Build up your cash reserves right now.
Anything that you have that you don't really need, sell it right now.
If something you have that you really don't need to sell it, build up your cash reserves.
Amen.
Okay.
Because in the storm, if you sell it, you'll get pennies.
Sell what you can right now.
things that you don't need if there's any real estate that you have that you've been thinking about selling
sell it now do not buy any real estate now prices will will tumble you might see 50% drop 70% drop in
26 I bought an office building in Florida after the crash brand new building
brand new
and I paid
13 cents on the dollar for it
Doc it fell
87%
87%
so
that's where I'm at right now
in my personal planning
and thinking
it's jettison
throw overboard
whatever you've got to throw overboard to keep your ship afloat okay and yeah that's true
87% and I and I bought a home um several years after that at 50% discount
so you give you an idea the crash was 2008 I bought the office building in 2011
and I and that was at 87% discount and I bought a house
in 2013 at a 50% discount.
So by 2013, they were still struggling to sell the foreclosed homes from 2008.
Look how many years?
8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 6 years.
And folks, this information, this knowledge is available.
If you are knowledgeable about cycles that are
taking place and that's why Rick's book is going to be essential it's going to be your guidebook
for the next decade and beyond okay it's not a prophecy book but it's definitely a guidebook
to give you an understanding of what has happened in the past and what is likely to happen in the
future based on the past Doc in my book I know you've already read this chapter I
reference a gentleman named Fred Harrison.
Oh, yes.
I called him the son of the 18-year real estate crash cycle theory.
Because the father of it was a guy named Homer Hoyt, Homer Hoyt.
He passed away years ago.
He's the one who discovered the 18-year real estate crisis, a crash cycle.
But Fred Harrison,
in my opinion, is the most knowledgeable man on the planet today
about the real estate crash cycle.
He's now in his 80s.
Doc, I watched a video with him last night,
and he said the crash is coming in 2026 will be the worst of his lifetime.
And he's in his 80s.
Right.
And he has seen many real estate crashes.
And he is the, by far, the most recognized expert on real estate crash cycles.
And he's saying the crash is coming in 2026 and it will be the worst in his lifetime.
And he's in his 80s.
So that ought to be a sobering wake up to everybody.
right this book also has a number of visions that rick has either had himself or friends of this ministry
have or you know other christian leaders have had regarding what may be taking place in the very
near future uh rick has a chapter in here on do you folks know about the christmas asteroid that's
coming uh he has a chapter in here about the uh the christmas asteroid
They think it's going to have the moon.
It's in the cycles, too.
They think it's going to hit the moon.
This is a guidebook, folks.
Let's see, Elizabeth.
She said, hopefully it's easier reading than the fourth turning.
It is.
It almost killed me.
Elizabeth, yeah, that was 590-page book.
The only, I would say, there's only about,
there's 28, 29 chapters in the book.
There's only about the first three or four are nerdy.
They're nerdy.
I'll tell you that right now.
But I made them as I tried to lessen the nerdiness as the best I could.
You did a good job at that.
I think you did a great job explaining the cycles.
Neil Howell, of course, goes deep.
Oh, my goodness.
his books are more academic this is not an academic book it's really not a financial book it's
like I said it's not a prophecy book it's easy to read Rick I don't say he you know he made it easy
to read okay made it very comfortable to read like like Rick is sitting right here that's
when I'm reading it I hear his voice saying the words and that you know a lot of times authors
can't convey their own voice very well. Rick does a great job with that, if you remember from
Final Day, but he does the same thing in Megafire. But hopefully later today, maybe tomorrow,
we'll have the order page up and running and you can get your copy. We want to get this in your
hands. Why? Because we want you to prepare for what's coming. We want you to be prepared.
We want you to prepare your family. And we want you to be ready because things are going to be changing.
There's no doubt about it.
Massive change is on the way.
If the only thing that was changing was the technology over the next five years,
if that was the only thing, that is going to change society just itself.
Just that alone.
Doc, I'm going to give you, hey, I almost sent this to you last night.
I said, no, I'm not going to text this to you.
It was like 9 o'clock at night.
I won't do that.
but now I just remember
I want to tell you this
I came across the fact last night
you know
we always we see
whenever there's a financial stress
in the economy
you'll read
that company
XYZ announced
they're going to be
eliminating 1500 jobs right
see these stories like this okay
I'm going to ask you to give me
a guess, and I'll have everybody else to it, from January 1st to the beginning of September
of this year, how many was the total number of jobs that companies in America have announced
that they have eliminated this year? Total number? Yes, aggregate number of all the
country of all the companies if you took all the announcements of job attrition elimination of jobs
since January to September 1st what's the number just a round number I'll say 500,000
anybody else anybody else want to guess okay just under 900,000
Wow. Close to a million. Wow. Almost a million. Since January, Doc. Wow.
I watched an interview with a job recruiter who said this, the job market is absolutely devastating for people right now.
And it's ironic that's coming from a job recruiter because they are right on the cutting edge of being replaced themselves.
Yes. Yes.
And he, and he, his advice was do not send out.
He goes, he can send a resume if you want, but it's worthless.
He's just sending out resume is worthless right now.
You know what he recommended, Doc?
Old fashioned, knock on their door, call them.
He goes, you get to get past the other thousand people that applied for the job.
Wow.
And I heard other recruiters say, I really don't care about your education.
I don't care about your work history.
I want to know who you are.
What kind of person are you?
I've got a thousand applicants for one job.
I've got to pick the person that has the best character.
Listen to that.
The best character.
What are we studying in the book of Proverbs?
Character.
Christians should go through this.
financial storm companies should be saying we've got to hire the Christians so don't be
afraid don't be afraid but be aware so I'm not terrified of of bad storms but I'm aware
but I'm aware right I don't go outside when it's lightning because that's tempting
God isn't it amen
So don't do foolish things.
There's a storm coming in.
Yeah.
Well,
ladies and gentlemen, you've got a lot of bonus information today and morning manna.
In addition to wisdom from Proverbs,
you're getting practical wisdom on getting ready.
You know what, Rick,
we can go to sleep at night knowing that we told people to prepare.
We told people to, and we're applying that in our own lives, folks.
We don't just talk.
about it. I'm making decisions every single day now based on information that I've been learning
and information from Rick's book. I make decisions every single day now. I used to make those
decisions once a week. Now I'm moving it up every single day. I'm watching my finances. I'm
considering what to do and how to prepare and what to do next. And so the timetable is speeding up
knowledge and travel shall increase in these last days, like Daniel says.
Folks, you've got to have information today.
This is not the day to be lazy.
Proverbs talks about that, too.
Don't be lazy about it.
You've got to be active in preparation.
Doc, I heard another person last night.
I haven't had time to verify it, but they sounded very credible.
Do you remember a couple weeks ago, President Trump,
fired the director.
Was it the Bureau of Labor Statistics?
Right.
According to this person, the reason that woman was fired,
the media said, oh, the August jobs report
wasn't what Donald Trump wanted,
so he got mad and fired the director of the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The video I watched last night, the person said,
no, that's not the reason.
The Trump administration found out
that the Biden administration had been,
corrupting the numbers for two years
and telling the American people
that they were job gains
and that the Trump administration has found out
that there have been job losses
every month for two years.
And now they're realizing how bad the economy is.
And so what this woman was doing was like,
okay, now I'm going to flip the switch here
instead of cooking the books, we're going to report the real numbers
and make it look like it all went south under Donald Trump.
But if this is true, then, Doc, we have been losing jobs for two years.
We've been losing jobs for four years.
Yes.
And AI is about to wipe out millions of jobs secretarial data entry,
call centers but wipe out millions in the next year yeah and there used to be a saying about two
years ago i i know we're way over time two years ago what did that what was everybody saying
learned to code learned a code well forget that now AI does all the coding now that's what
that's what the one recruiter said last night because you get these uh genzi saying well hey i i i just
I don't have any I don't have a real life I learned to code I'm going to make it easy on my life I'm a coder and he goes you're not needed what other skill do you have I don't have any other skill I play video games well we're not hiring a wake up call is coming a wake up call is coming and it's coming I'm telling you within months that could be three to four months
it could be six to seven months the wake-up call is coming when i say wake-up call when the general public
discovers what you and i are talking about right now you have an advance warning the public's going
to start figuring this out in a three to six seven months for now and it's going to be too late yes but when they
figured out the the the the economy will go into shock so you've got timed by the by whatever
sell off junk get rid of unwanted things yes use that money to buy food to buy the the
basic items of life because inflation's i've told you a couple years ago this is a third
what did I say a 10 to 15 year inflation cycle yeah and get as liquid as possible as you possibly
can yes not everybody can but as much as you possibly can get liquid by that try to get
be cash dominant and so I'll tell you one story and I'm holding people a long time
but in 2004 the holy spirit told me there was a real estate crash coming i didn't know anything
about real estate cycles he told me there was a real estate crash coming and a bank liquidity
crisis i didn't know what i thought why what liquids do they have in banks i don't know
what's a bank liquidity crisis they don't have any liquid okay so what they sell lemonade what's
going on you know but the lord had to educate me and he told me to sell off our real estate we had a
house and we had a small office building for the ministry and he told me he said sell it off and pay off
all your debts the ministry had a lot of unpaid radio bills we were i was treading water
all right uh to keep my head above uh paying off radio never do that again
uh and and so we had all those bills and the lord said sell your house pay your personal bills
sell the ministry office pay off all the ministry bills and rent until i gave you further notice
and we did and we sold in early 2005 at the peak prices
the prices really didn't start to drop they started a little bit in 2006 more
in 2007 and then they just crashed in 2008 so he moved us to Chattanooga
Tennessee and we were we had this property out in the out in the woods beautiful
property eight acres three houses a barn a big office building this is out in the
countryside it was just perfect
and i signed a rent with option to buy contract and so doc we agreed in 2005 on the sale price and i had three
years to 2008 to pay for it in 2005 i thought oh this property is worth every dollar i'm
agreeing to by 2008 it was it was worth half of that amount
but i i wasn't obligated to finish to all i had to do was rent the three years right i was not
obligated to buy it at the end of the third year so anyhow this is what i wanted to tell you
i guess this was in maybe 2007 and i was really closely monitoring the incoming financial storm
And, Doc, if you would go get those true news archives and listen to 2007, you'd hear me talking about there's a financial crisis coming.
There's a real estate crisis coming.
I was talking about it every day on true news.
And so one night I was outside walking in the, had this big driveway at the office building.
It had parking for, I don't know, 20, 30 cars, you know.
and my dog at that time was duke big old white great pyrenees and so duke was walking with me and praying together
and you know i'm walking back and forth talking to the lord at night and and i and i said to the lord father
i'm really i'm getting nervous and getting scared about this financial crisis the more you're showing me
the more unsettled I am.
That's where my faith was at in 2007.
I said, I don't have anything.
I'm not prepared to go through this storm.
I'm not prepared.
And the Lord spoke to me and he said, Rick,
you don't have anything to lose.
And I actually said, I actually said to him,
that's not funny, Lord.
I did.
I grinned about it.
I said, Lord, that's not funny.
And he said, I'm not being funny to you, Rick.
You don't have anything to lose.
I said, I know.
I sold my house.
I sold my office.
He goes, and what did you do with the money?
I said, I did what you said.
Pay off debts.
He goes, you don't have any debt.
You're not going to lose.
He said, the people who are going to get hurt in this storm are people who are deep in debt.
He said, I got you out of debt.
I went, oh, Lord, forgive me.
Forgive me for being so boneheaded stupid.
You took care of me.
You led me.
You got me ready for the storm.
And I, Doc, he showed me, I got this little vision.
I saw.
Like I was on a big sail ship with Jesus, and Jesus was on deck, and there's a storm.
Oh, man, the sky is black.
One of them to see, there's a, it's not raining yet.
Oh, but you could see the storm, and the lightning is flashing.
It's behind, it's behind the ship, okay?
Amen.
It's coming.
It's coming towards us.
I could see this in the vision.
and in the vision
the Lord said
turned a ship around
and faced the storm
Lord why
why
faced the storm
and he said
I remember he pointed
he pointed
and he said
do you see
do you see on the horizon
do you see a small opening
do you see the light
yes yes Lord I see it
there was a hole
in the storm and you could see
sunlight on the other side
and he said aim the ship for that hole
I said Lord
are you saying to sail into the storm
yes I'm going to take you through that hole
okay
that's what he did
we went through that storm
and we came out on the other side
and it was calm water
the water was calm on the other side
on the other side he brought us to florida and we bought an office building for 13 cents on the
dollar we bought a house for 50 cents on the dollar trust the lord trust him he has a way he's not
going to abandon you right he will not abandon you in this storm seek him seek him seek wisdom and
obey him right and i know several of you
that are live on the chat right now you say well what do we do what what's next well the first
thing you do is ask god for wisdom that's the very first thing yes ask god for wisdom
god's got an individual plan for everybody uh that's watching or listening to this today he's got
a plan for you a decision for angela is not going to be a decision for uh bob or diana uh but
it's going to be a plan that he has for you so uh you need to ask god for wisdom
first and that has a promise in the word that if we ask God he'll give wisdom that's the first thing
and how do you gather wisdom from his word from his word but the word also says get knowledge and
understanding and that's where the megafire book comes in this gives you additional knowledge and
understanding in having wisdom to move forward uh here uh in the very near future the future is now folks
It's not some time off 10 years from now.
Now is the future.
This is the future that we're looking at right now.
And so have no fear.
Don't fear with God when you're in the boat with him.
Jesus is asleep.
You can rest in him and be in his presence and rest in him, rest in his word, rest in his promise,
that he has a plan and purpose for you and your family,
forward and fear not for i am with thee be not dismayed for i am thy god i will strengthen me
yea i will help thee yea i will uphold thee with my right hand of righteousness i say a 41 10
and so i encourage you do not fear do not let fear have a foothold in your life have faith
trust god's promise for wisdom seek wisdom from the word and then get knowledge and understanding
from the resources that God brings into your life.
Amen.
Dr. Sean, good to see you, Sean.
Sean's here every day.
Yeah.
Sean, you ask a really good question.
Any tips on how to talk to family about this
who can't handle talking about it?
We all have relatives can't handle it.
That's just a difficult one.
just ask God to soften their heart, ask God to prepare them to listen to you.
You may have to dribble it out a little bit at a time.
Just ask them, say, just be patient here.
I want to show you something.
Would you listen to something?
And then wherever you can, take action on your own.
Whatever you can do on your own, take action.
You're the head of your family.
and the responsibility is on you.
So you have to exercise that leadership and that responsibility.
Do what you have to do.
I understand in situations, you know, if your spouse says,
well, we're not selling the house.
We're not selling the property.
We're not, okay, I understand you.
You've got obstacles, but do your best to get them to understand.
Here's the consequences of what's coming.
Yes.
If you're, you know, I'm not telling people to go sell your house, but I'll tell you this.
If you don't have any plans to stay in that house for another 10 years, then you want to sell it now.
Because you will be in that house for another 10 years.
And that's assuming that the war doesn't come to American soil or European soil.

They'll keep it going as long as they can.
Yeah.
They'll keep it going as long as they can.
Okay.
The young families are the ones who are going to pay the price for it.
Unfortunately.
Yep.
Okay.

things right so there'll be music there'll be prayer be live prayers i'm just trying to get things
in place to be able to do that and also the things that we've doc and i believe that we're
supposed to do right now for the ministry to just a lot of action steps being taken right now
