TRUNEWS with Rick Wiles - Morning Manna - September 15, 2025 - Proverbs 11:22-26 - The Blessings of a Generous Heart
Episode Date: September 15, 2025In today’s Morning Manna, we reflect on Proverbs 11:22–26, where Solomon warns that beauty without discretion is as misplaced as a jewel in a swine’s snout. The desires of the righteous align wi...th goodness, while the wicked reap only wrath. We also see God’s paradox: scattering generously brings increase, while hoarding leads to poverty. Finally, the blessing rests on those who share provision freely, while those who withhold what others need invite cursing. Good morning, everybody. Welcome the morning, Manna for Monday. And we are delighted to have you here with us, wherever you are in the world and whatever time of the day it is and whatever method you're using to access this Bible study. We're just happy that you are here and that you are part of a global Bible study class that has been meeting for
several years and it's been amazing the folks that have just stayed with us for years to be here
five days a week for one hour to study the Word of God. All of us have changed. The Word is
working in all of us in different ways. That's the beauty of the Word. The same word does different
works in people it the word knows what needs to be done in each person and it finds its way into
the nooks and crannies of our hearts and souls and it just does this thing which is to transform us
into the image of christ so we are in the 11th chapter of the book of proverbs and today we're
studying verses 22 through 26 tomorrow we will finish chapter 11 and then on Wednesday we will begin
our study of chapter 12 let's pray almighty god our father in heaven father we are grateful for this
beautiful wonderful day and we give you thanksgiving and praise for your goodness we invite the
holy spirit into this bible study to teach us your word that we would see jesus high and
lifted up in the name of jesus christ our lord and savior amen amen if i could add to rick
comments there about the word changing us individually it's also changing us as a community too
in the apostles creed there's a word that talks about one catholic faith and was talking about
catholic faith it's not capital c like roman catholic but little c catholic uh universal if you will
but not quite universal it means the same thing being taught everywhere at the same time and that's what's
happening every day in Morning Manor. We're teaching hundreds, maybe even thousands of people
around the world, the same thing at the same time. So not only is it transformed us individually,
but also as a community, God is moving us along as well. And it's a beautiful thing to witness,
especially now that we've been doing this for a couple of years, to see the changes, not only in
individuals that are, you know, the names I see on the chat and how God is working their lives,
but all of us as a group how God is changing us.
And so it works both ways there.
Now, we are continuing that study today in Proverbs chapter 11.
We're reading verses 22 through 26 today and saying hi to a global friends in Russia, Philippines, Japan, Malaysia, Brazil, and across the U.S. and Canada today, welcome.
Verse 22, Chapter 11, I like this verse, one of my favorite verses in the Bible.
as a jewel of gold in a swine snout so is a fair woman which is without discretion
the desire the righteous is only good but the expectation the wicked is wrath
there is that scattereth and yet increaseth and there is that withholdeth more than his meat
but it tendeth to poverty the liberal soul shall be made fat and he that watereth shall be
watered also himself in verse 26 he that
withholdeth corn the people shall curse him but blessing shall be upon the head of him that
selleth it selleth it not give it away selleth it praise god that's right that's a good point doc
we'll get to that a very good point first 22 as a jewel of gold and a swine snout
So is a fair woman, which is without discretion.
Very vivid picture.
We all can get an image in our mind of a hog with a golden ring in its nose.
Now, we used to put rings in hog's nose.
Did you guys do that in Maryland?
Oh, yes.
Oh, yes, sure.
But they certainly weren't gold rings.
No, no, they weren't.
To be able to control them because the nose is the most sensitive part of the pig's body.
And you could basically set a pig down to the ground just by pulling on that ring.
And so there was that sense of control, if you will, slavery, if you will.
And there's so that that picture's in this too.
Well, Doc, I bet if I put a ring in your nose, I could pull you down to the ground also.
I mean, and that's a fashion trend today, too, putting rings in your nose.
I know.
And they not understand.
Okay, I'm not even going to go there.
I'm just not going to go there.
When that started to become a trend, I wanted to say to young women, hey, my granddad used to do that to his hogs.
Yeah.
It's like, I don't say that, Rick.
But that's what came to my mind.
Right.
Why would you put a, oh, well, I'm going to keep my opinions to myself on this one, okay?
So, I just think if you have a ring in your nose, you've leveled your, you've put yourself on the level of a pig.
Okay.
But that's your choice.
So like a gold ring in a pig snout is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
So the image, this image is deliberately shocking.
Something precious and pure, a gold ring is placed on something that is unclean.
The contrast, it doesn't make.
sense why would you put a gold ring in the snout of a hog and the hog's snout is always in slop
so the gold represents beauty value dignity and the swine you know sorry to all those pigs out
there but pigs represent uncleanness and in this sense and context of this proverb it also
represents greed and a lack of refinement you know the old saying you can put a lipstick on a pig
but still pig oh you can put a gold ring in a pig snout but it's still pig
So the picture here is misapplied beauty, wasted, out of place.
It just doesn't make sense.
Something's wrong with the picture.
That's what it's saying here.
There's something wrong with this picture.
It's like if you had a painting of a dirty, filthy pig standing in slop,
and it was a beautiful gold ring in its nose, and you ask some children,
Look at this picture and find, find what's wrong with this picture.
What's wrong with this painting?
Kids would say, there's a golden ring in its nose.
It's just showing, everybody knows it doesn't belong there.
So is a fair woman, which is without discretion.
Now, for the King James, the word fair,
in this sense means beautiful physically beautiful of an attractive woman so an attractive
woman which is without discretion discretion meaning lacking sound judgment lacking
modesty lacking virtue lacking wisdom
Last week, we studied what Proverbs 11 says about a godly woman,
that they are to be meek, a quiet, a peaceful spirit, a calm, peaceful spirit.
And so here we're being told that an attractive, beautiful woman who does not have
sound judgment in other words she doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut she doesn't know when
to restrain her words she doesn't know the right time and the wrong time to speak
she doesn't discern the time she doesn't she just doesn't have discernment about what's going on
in the world around her she's not modest she's not virtuous
She's attractive.
She's physically attractive.
But she lacks discretion.
Right.
And the Bible says such a woman is like a gold ring.
That's the beauty.
You know, pig snout.
That's the lack of discretion.
Yeah.
So beauty without wisdom, without godliness,
becomes absurd.
That's what this picture is.
It's absurd.
A hog and a hog pen in slop wearing a gold ring.
So external beauty cannot forever cover up inward foolishness, folly.
So it's teaching us here that a woman's true honor lies in her discretion, her godliness, her virtue, not her appearance alone.
You know, and the word discretion here means not only modesty, but the ability to act with wisdom and propriety.
So this proverb is teaching us that outward beauty.
when misused
brings shame
rather than glory.
So
Doc, again,
here's the contrast.
Gold ring,
filthy pig.
Yeah.
The contrast is present
in this verse.
Yeah.
And what's the purpose of a pig, Rick?
What's the pig's purpose?
they're not cracking physics formulas or anything like that their only purpose is one thing right
bacon that that's the only that's the only purpose a pig has when you really get down to it
is to be harvested and the same way that's a fair woman a hog is nothing really when you get around
to but an object and women without discretion just become objects and when you talk you know
you know a lot of women today are frustrated because they say they're being treated like objects
well you're allowing yourself to be treated like an object because you you live without discretion
in your life all you have to do is watch television yeah i don't watch any reality tv shows
or anything like that but just the trailers that pop up on social media
and on television tells you the value that women place on themselves and that the media places
on women, that they're objects. They're just, they have gold, they're just fair, but without
discretion. The world system, you know, I can't say in other countries because I don't live there,
but I know here in America, for the last 50 years, the world system has been systematically
devaluing women and removing the manhood of men yeah they've been making women shameful
and they've been making men less than men impudent yeah and its own purpose it's a plan
there are people in power with money and influence who have been orchestrating these trends
why do break down a godly society to break up the family unit
john gill said external beauty without inward grace is no more comely than a gold ring
in the snout of a swine such a woman disgraces the beauty she possesses
amen william are not scotland free church beauty without discretion is not only worthless but grotesque
it provokes ridicule as when men see a jewel hanging from the snout of a beast
and robert horton congregational church of england the prime
proverb is a satire on the world's estimate of beauty a fair face without virtue is a disgrace not an adornment and and he lived when he died in 1934 so it hasn't changed has it no born in 1855 in great britain he was the he was the chairman of the
congregational churches of England
Proverbs 1123
The desire of the righteous is only good
but the expectation of the wicked is wrath
You got two words here
desire and expectation
The righteous desire
The wicked expect
Let's look at first at the desire
of the righteous is only good.
So righteous desires
are bathed
in grace. They are
in alignment with God's will.
Their motives are not
selfish, but directed
towards God's glory
and the good
of others.
The desire
the righteous is only good.
and so these these good desires are the righteous spring from a heart that's been renewed a mind
that's been renewed by the word of God by the Holy Spirit what do the righteous desire what do they
long for righteousness truth peace eternal life they should desire the things that God desires
No, I could read in Psalm 374, delight thyself also in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
We should be asking the Lord to put in our heart his desires.
What does he desire of us?
Not just what we desire, what we think we desire.
What does he desire of us?
Give us, Lord, the desires of our heart.
Put those desires in us.
look at that promise delight to light to light yourself in the lord and he the lord shall give you
the desires of your heart he places his desires in your heart and his desires become your
desires and then when you pray for your desires he says done i'll do it it's on its way
because we're praying in alignment with his will.
So we align our desires with God's will
because then he delights to grant our desires.
Maybe this, I don't go too far off the path here.
I just, I noticed over the weekend, Doc,
I wasn't aware of this.
The proliferation of videos on social media predicting that, quote, the rapture is going to happen on September 23rd.
Right.
I mean, this is everywhere.
I didn't know it.
I did not know this was happening.
It's rapture season.
It's definitely rapture season.
You got Jewish feasts coming up.
right you got blood moons and you got eclipses and you got everything else going on and so it's rapture season
but here's what i was thinking this morning in my prayer time i was talking to the lord about this
very early this morning and and i you know i said father i would be delighted oh my
you know i know i know i know i know jesus isn't coming back on september 23rd because people are using
that date therefore it's not right right so there i already know you can go ahead and make plans
for the 23rd what i was saying to the lord this morning was i would be delighted if if my
savior came back next week i always do are you serious this is awesome we're going to get
out of here we're going to go home we're going to be with you let's do it but here's here's the
thing i noticed doc so many of the people who are posting these videos and definitely the people
who are commenting are very anxious bordering on being afraid right and i'm like why are the
secret rapture people why are they afraid of the rapture
Yeah, what are they afraid of?
Well, doctor tells me that their desires are not to be with the Lord.
That's what I'm going with this.
Their desires are not to be with the Lord.
Oh, Rick.
Wow, wow, wow.
Their desire is to stay in this world and talk about the rapture.
but they really are not desiring the second coming of Christ yet because they have more things
they desire to do in this life yeah you know if you if the secret rapture is really true
you ought to be you ought to be closing everything down right now yeah and just getting out in the
street saying repent crisis coming next next week 23rd if you really believe that stuff yeah or do
like they did in 1800 sit up on the roof and robes what you go to work today if you really believe
it why did you go to work today why did you put your kids on the school bus if you knew the rapture
was coming why you why do you have a bank account why do you have a mortgage why do you have all those
things people in their lifestyles decry what they really believe the second coming of christ
really is not their desire no so let's go to the second part of this verse but the expectation not
the desire the expectation of the wicked is wrath yes see that's what they really fear
yes the wicked expect prosperity they expect pleasure they expect wealth and things whatever
but their outcome is judgment the righteous desire the good things that god desires for them
and they receive it.
The wicked expect
things that God has not
put in his will for them.
And they're disappointed
because their outcome is judgment.
Instead of peace, they
encounter wrath.
Their hopes
are not godly desires.
They are ungodly,
illusions that lead to disappointment and destruction.
So here, Doc, you've got this contrast.
Righteousness leads to good, wickedness to wrath.
Got two destinies.
The righteous desire only good because their hearts are shaped by God's will.
Their hearts are shaped, let me say it like this.
hearts are shaped by the Holy Spirit to desire God's will.
Amen.
While the wicked expect blessings, but only find wrath.
So as disciples of Christ, we are called to cultivate holy desires trusting in Jesus Christ,
who alone delivers us from wrath and secures our eternal God.
good.
John Gill, born 1697, the righteous desire nothing but what is good, and their expectations
shall not be cut off.
The wicked's expectation is wrath, disappointment, and destruction.
Alexander McLaurin, born 1826, the heart's desire reveals the man.
The righteous desire God and good, and they get their desire.
the wicked desire the world and they get wrath instead so the righteous get what they desire
but the world the wicked do not get what they expect they get something else
william are not born 1808 the expectation of the righteous is as sunshine breaking through the
storm the expectation of the wicked is as a storm bursting after a gleam of false hope
verse 24 there is that scattereth and yet increaseth and there is that withholdeth more than his
meat but it tendeth to poverty great verse yeah lots in here
I love this verse.
World English Bible.
I'm going to read several different translations.
World English Bible, there is one who scatters and increases yet more.
There is one who withholds more than is appropriate but gains poverty.
The English standard version, the ESV, one gives freely, yet grows all the richer.
Another withholds what he should give.
give and only suffers want amplified Bible there is the one who generously scatters abroad
and yet increases all the more and there is the one who withholds what is justly due
but it results only in one in poverty so the generous person gives more than they need to give
And the other person, the stingy person doesn't even give the minimum of what they should give.
Two extremes, the contrast again, one gives more than is expected, the other one won't even give the bare minimum.
The one who gives away more than is expected of them to do, they become richer.
right the one who won't even give the bare minimum becomes poor that that verse alone should
just spark an outpouring of giving to the word of God today this is one of the greatest
verses in the Bible there is one that scatterth and yet increase it to scatter to scatter
means to, it's a farming term, a gardening term.
You scatter your seed.
You generously cast the seed out.
You're not dropping one seed here and walking and dropping a seed.
No, you're casting seed.
Putting your hands down in the bucket of seed and you're scattering it.
Throwing it out there.
Throwing it out there.
almost with joy but see the would be the most foolish farmer would pick out one seed and drop it right like what are you going to or say I better save the seed we got you know what I better hang on to this seed someone might steal it the birds might eat it up we we might need it up we might need seeds we might need seeds
for food yes you do you the seed has to go in the ground to give you food right that's what
this verse is telling you seed withheld never produces a harvest only loss only seed withheld never
produces a harvest that seed can sit in a bucket for years and never produce anything to eat it has to be
giving away it has to be put into the ground that's the way it is with your offerings you're giving
you have to let go you have to constantly send out gifts look it doesn't matter if they're small
it's the frequency it's the it's the desire of the heart give what you can give i'm just
constantly giving giving giving giving just become a giver get in a cycle
a mindset of giving
it's
it's sewing and reeping
sewing and reaping and reeking
yes
there's no such thing as
reaping and reaping and reaping
there's stealing
there's no such thing as
keeping and reaping
there's no such thing
as keeping and reaping
I like that
you can't keep and reap
at the same time
you have to sew
in order to reap.
If you're facing financial pressures right now,
you need to increase your giving.
You can give your way out of lack.
You can give your way out of poverty.
You can give your way out of debt.
How do I know I did it?
Yes.
I did it.
And I keep doing it.
And I continue to do it.
keep doing it i'm not going back to lack oh once you get it down in your spirit you're not going back
there in my early days as a christian is a 20-some-year-old i say when i was 24 just short of 25
but those first couple years god took me through some very tough
times of testing and I had to give he he kept showing me Rick I'm teaching you
faith give like how do I give when I don't have anything to give I'll give you
something I I have doc I have vivid memories of pulling cushions out of
and chairs and gathering quarters and putting them in an envelope and sending them to a church that was preaching the gospel i was determined to break the spell of lack that was on my life i was determined i will break it with these gifts yes i remember
one very
very prosperous job was in my 20s
I was on working sales commission
and the Lord just kept blessing me and blessing me
and Doc I would
the moment I got my
my pay
I bought money orders
that's the very first thing I did
the moment I cashed the check
I bought money orders.
And I wrote out the names of ministries and churches.
And I couldn't wait to get to the post office to mail them.
That's the attitude you have to have.
You're sowing and sowing and sowing and believing and expecting.
In God's economy, giving leads not to loss, but to end.
increase right it's inverted from the world the world says get all you can put it in a can
and then sit on a can yeah god says give all you can reap all you can and give away what you
reaped but you got to get off your can and do it you got to get all you can to do it so the more
you sow, the more God multiplies the blessings. And it's not just material, financial
blessings. You're giving also produces spiritual blessings. What about health? What about good health?
Is that a blessing? You better believe it. You go through life and not be sick.
that is a blessing from heaven
what is good health worth
financially what's it worth
well just get sick
and you can't work can't pay your bills
and you'll come up with a dollar estimate very quickly
I know people get worried about
well what if I get sick and I can't work
and well just give
just give giving giving just solves so many problems why because you're you're you're
you're imitating your father in heaven he's a giver he loves to look at his sons and daughters
and say ah they're just acting like me they got the same generous spirit just like me i love it
i'm going to give him some more because i love watching
them give that increase it comes through god's providential supply it comes through the goodwill of
other people it comes through the holy spirit enriching your soul now i've also heard people
make the argument well i'm holding right now because i'm waiting for good soil well have you asked
the lord for good soil yes have you asked him to show it to
you. You're withholding, you know, and saying, well, I'm waiting on good soil when the
good soil might be right under your feet where you're at right now. And so open up your
eyes and you may be surprised where the good soil is just immediately around you. So don't
use that as an excuse to withhold. The withholding leads to poverty. By withholding, you are
losing. Every day you withhold your seed, you're losing.
every day, like clockwork, every day.
Why you're looking for good soil,
there might be an elderly widow on your street or road
who needs her grass mode.
Yeah.
There's some good soil.
That's right.
Go cut her grass.
Oh, that's a flimsy excuse.
And there is that withholdeth more than his meat,
but it tendeth to poverty.
World English Bible says there is one who withholds more than is appropriate but gains poverty.
This withholding more than is meat.
Again, here's an old English word that we don't use, but it means the word meat here means appropriate.
right is somebody who withholds more than is appropriate to withhold yeah so they're hoarders
they're stingy yes or listen sometimes people don't give not because they're stingy or selfish
but because they're fearful and timid yes that's the biggest reason right there i don't want to lose
fearfulness and timidity is a sign of lack of trusting God's provision.
Yes.
Because when you hold back and say, I'm going to keep this just in case things get rough,
what you're saying is God is not able to take care of me.
Right.
Now, does that mean that we don't prepare, that we don't think about the future and things like that?
Of course not.
But don't be so focused, so fearful.
the future that you're not giving in the present that's right and besides doc in preparation you
should be preparing to share with others right if if there are hard times it's not going to be just
you that's right you could be the joseph that saves your neighborhood that's right
you know i i've told you the story before but i remember my grandparents telling me through the
great depression they were very very struggled they had five children in the 1930s in the
depression but i remember my grandparents telling me that the the family next door was more
poor than they were and that they went through the whole entire depression feeding that family
wow praise god i remember my granddad saying i didn't have food for myself and i would go
outside and shoot sparrows and cook sparrows and eat it because we gave the food to our
neighbors wow but you know what my granddad had a third grade education you know born in the
1890s third grade education but he never had a mortgage never had a car loan never had a personal
loan never had a credit card but everything he had was paid for in cash he had a nice house
he always had a nice car we always had plenty of food they had a third grade education
but they were givers he had a phd in giving yeah yeah phd and giving that's right they were generous
souls i learned it from them i can tell you i learned it from them i can tell you i learned it from them i
saw them give so people think selfishness they see it as self-preservation we he wouldn't call it
selfishness no he's self-preservation that's a nice term they think that's wise but it's foolish
because it will it will result in loss why because hoarding provokes god's displeasure
yes he finds no pleasure in
hoarding. Yes, and it reveals a lack of faith. That's what it really reveals. Someone asked me
the other day, is hoarding a sin? And yes, I think hoarding is a sin. Horting, yes. It's a lack of faith
in what God can provide. Well, asked the rich man that was going to build more barns.
Jesus said, you fool, your soul will be required of you tonight. Well, he was a hoarder. That man
was a hoarder.
What do we have in America now?
Every place we go, at least here, every place you go,
there are massive storage unit buildings.
And building new ones all the time.
Everywhere.
People have so much stuff,
they don't have any place in their homes to put it,
so they rent places to put their stuff.
And it's a huge issue.
industry oh yes so true poverty is not lacking money it's lacking generosity the root cause of poverty
is the lack of generosity all right i know this might be i might be stepping on toes right now
if you are suffering financial lack right now
it is an indication that you have not been sowing into the kingdom
and you've not had faith in God to meet your needs
now a way to deal with that is to confess it to God
when this Bible study is over confess it to God
and say beginning now I'm going to be a giver
it's over you've changed your course
And you don't even sound going to be.
You say, I am a giver.
I am a giver.
I am a giver.
And if you don't have anything to give right now, ask God.
He gives seed to the sower, asking for miracle money.
Lord, I want to be a sower.
Okay.
I'll get you the seed.
That's where God is on it.
That's right.
You'll be walking down the road and there will be a $100 bill.
Yep.
You'll open up a closet and pull out an old pair of pants and there's a $20 bill.
He will get seed to you.
Yep.
And when he does, you better sow that seed.
Don't withhold it.
Don't say, God, give me seed, and then go, well, it was just luck.
I left that money sitting there or I forgot about that.
That doesn't count.
That's not, you know, that's not God providing.
Yes, it is.
Because it didn't exist until you remembered it, right?
So, doctor, the sewer increases and the hoarder decreases.
That's right.
It's inverted.
You would think that the hoarder would increase.
You would think that the sewer would decrease.
But the laws of God completely flips on its head the laws of the world.
Adam Clark born 1762 God has so ordered it that the liberal man shall prosper and the miser shall be poor he that scatter shall increase he that hoard shall lose Charles Bridges born 1794 the sower's hand is never empty but the miser's hand that withholds from God and his poor
tends to poverty
the world's wisdom is
the Christian's folly and the
Christian's folly is the world's wisdom
Albert Barnes
the paradox is one of God's laws
we by giving
we gain by keeping we
lose
the generous man's wealth increases
while the miser
waste his by hoarding
Alexander McLaren
the selfish life is the empty life
the generous life is the abundant life
he who lives to give finds that God gives to him
verse 25
the liberal soul shall be made fat
and he that watereth shall be watered
also himself
the new American Standard Bible says
A generous person will be prosperous
and one who gives others plenty of water
will himself be given plenty
The Amplified Bible
translation is
The generous man is a source of blessing
and shall be prosperous and enriched
and he who waters will himself be watered,
reaping the generosity he has shown.
So the liberal soul, okay,
we're not talking about politically liberal.
The liberal soul.
It's overflowing, generous, open-handed, freely giving soul.
See, modern liberals,
are freely giving your taxpayer dollars.
This isn't what we're talking about.
We're talking about the liberal soul that's giving out of the loving,
generous heart out of themselves, not out of somebody else's pocket.
Yeah, so, yeah, political liberals are generous with somebody else's money.
Right.
There's just something I've always wanted to say to liberals and progressives who are
demand that more and more and more tax money is spent on poverty and other problems.
Well, what, how much have you given out of your personal earnings?
How much have you done?
You want to take it from somebody else, but you don't do what, you're not doing it yourself.
Well, anyhow, they're liberal with somebody else's money.
but the liberal generous open-handed freely giving soul shall be made fat it's not talking about impounds
it's talking about enriched prosperous yes refreshed
fatness here means good health abundance abundance divine favor just just good
stuff happens to them.
Just good things are
happening to them. They just
have a prosperous life.
And
selfish people can't understand it.
They keep hoarding,
trying to get what the prosperous
person has.
They will not
do what the prosperous person
does,
which is to give.
So the principle here is that generosity will be rewarded.
Give a cup of water and you receive a cup of water.
Be generous and you will be prosperous.
Help others, you will be helped.
It's a seed.
Seeds reproduce after their own kind.
So we need.
when you give money you will reap money it produces it's a what did you plant a money seed
what will grow up money
plant a seed of of kindness no money
you will reap
a harvest of kindness there will be people who will be kind to you
if you if you see someone who is lonely isolated
show show hospitality show kindness that person give them some attention
you're sewing into your own life
What you sow will reproduce after its own kind.
He that watereth shall be watered also himself.
Hallelujah.
So the word here watereth, it obviously does include physical water.
What did Jesus say about, hey, anybody who gives a cup of water to a child?
it's the same as giving a cup of water jesus but in this sense water watering something somebody
it means refreshing nourishing and that can be through kindness comfort giving just affection whatever it is you're watering another soul
and therefore you shall be watered
you shall be watered
let me tell you something
Satan will come after you
I'm not how would you think that
giving eliminates satanic attacks
oh it actually brings it on
because he's going
he desires to cut off your giving
so
the real the ultimate givers they live in this world where they're being attacked by the devil
and being blessed by God and you have to you have to get over the
woe is me and being attacked by the devil mentality if not it will just pull you down
because the purpose of it is to cut you off
yes to dam up to to stop the flow of the water coming out think think of a flowing spring coming up out of the ground you can't bottle all the water it just continues flowing you could be putting that water into buckets and containers and tanks and there's just more water it just keeps flowing it has an endless supply
when that is your life
but that's your heart
Satan will do everything he can
to shove dirt
anything he can
to stop the flow of that water
because it's enriching others
and it's glorifying God
so we have to
you have to understand you will be attacked
you will be criticized you will be mocked
there'll be things that come
the enemy will come against you
but the Lord will continue to bless you
don't give up don't quit
just understand what's taking place
that's why
with ministries churches
and ministries
who does Satan really go after
it's not so much the minister
as it is the supporters of the minister
right
if he can attack your life
and jam up the flow of water coming out of your life.
You have nothing to give to this ministry.
So he'll attack your finances.
He'll attack your marriage.
He'll attack your job.
He's doing everything he can to do what?
To stop the flow of the water coming from your heart.
Once you understand what the enemy is doing,
then you can pray correctly
knowing that God will break that attack
and will not allow it to continue
here's the principle
those who pour themselves out
for the sake of others
will themselves be replenished by Almighty God
the refreshment
flows back to the giver.
God sends us encouragement, joy, peace, prosperity.
And here's the amazing thing.
So often God repays our generosity through unexpected channels.
Even when we're weak, his generosity will show up.
If you water the life of another person, you cannot remain dry.
God himself will water your life.
Doc, I remember a season when I felt dry.
I thought, I mean, I was under such heavy.
demonic pressure
I was again a young Christian
and I was managing a radio station
Christian radio station
and every day I was just
there's so much spiritual
oppression coming against me
and
and one of the employees said to me one day
I can't tell you
the impact you've had
on my life.
I was thinking, I'm numb.
I'm just walking around here, numb.
I'm spiritually numb to what's taking place.
I can barely function because of the attacks.
And he said to me, I can't explain the words, the impact you have had on my life.
See, I was watering him and didn't even know it.
But then God watered my life.
see i was sowing water into his life and i didn't even know it right just giving giving of myself
not even aware that it was watering his soul
adam clark the bountiful man shall be rich in soul and often in substance he who refreshes
the weary shall himself be refreshed by god
a man Charles Bridges the well that freely pours forth his waters is the well that is
replenished so he who lives for others finds his own soul enlarged and enriched
Alexander McLaren the surest way to enrich oneself is to scatter blessings
The fountain that gives forth
Is the fountain that flows fullest
William are not
A tree laden with fruit
bends low
And in bending it drops its seed
Which grows again
So the liberal man is filled
By the very act of giving
I like that one Doc
I got a picture now
a tree that's so blessed it's just full of fruit it's so full of fruit the branches are
bending down to the ground and fruit is just falling off and seeds going into the ground and
growing Robert Horton the paradox of grace in watering others we are ourselves watered the economy of
God is reciprocity, not hoarding.
In our last verse,
verse 26,
He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him.
But blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
This is a condemnation of exploitation,
especially in times of crisis.
So, Doc, we often hear in times here in modern days that, you know, after a hurricane, after our flood or some natural disaster, there would be reports of gasoline stations, you know, jacking up the price of fuel or grocery stores, gouging the people.
This has been going on since as long as men have been on the earth.
There are people who say, hey, this crisis, I can make more money.
And God condemns it.
It is exploitation in a time of crisis.
Withholding.
It says, he that withholds corn.
It's hoarding.
corn grain wheat barley whatever it is it's hoarding something people need and they're waiting
that the hoarder is waiting for the scarcity to increase to drive up the prices and so those kind
of people are taking they're taking advantage of people's hunger
their need for physical necessities of life so that they can make a greater profit and God condemns it.
And the word says it invites public hatred.
You get two things, public hatred and divine judgment.
But the blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
you pointed out at the beginning doc it didn't say give it away now isn't this we've been talking about giving
but here here the bible is telling us there are times when you sell
because god's going to bless you in your selling yes you will be blessed in your selling
so the generous seller is praise for meeting the needs rather than exploiting them
there's nothing sinful about selling a product at a fair price so the blessing
but blessing shall be upon the head of him that self that blessing comes from both people
and god so unlike the hoarder who's
trying to get the price to be increased, the fair business man or businesswoman says,
I am going to sell it at its normal price.
Right.
So what do we see here?
There is righteousness in commerce.
Your business affairs need to be done fairly in the eyes of God.
so this verse first 26 is warning against greed in times of need
to withhold food and water and clothing and supplies and fuel
during a crisis during a famine whatever is the situation
it means something in the economy has been disrupted
and a person is withholding what he or she has to sell hoping to get even more money
and to withhold resources is to invite curses from people and the Lord.
So this verse is teaching us that Christ's disciples are expected to conduct business with integrity.
This is to do business.
do business knowing that the Lord is watching
do it right do it fairly
I'll wrap up here with a couple quotes
well doc
according to Charles Bridges back there
in the early 1800s
they had people trying to form monopolies
he said the curse of God
and man alike
lights upon
selfish monopolist but the liberal merchant selling his corn freely has blessing upon his head a
crown of honor from both god and man Albert Barnes the picture is that of a time of scarcity
the hoarder is cursed by the hungry but the man who opens the store finds blessings in the
prayers of the poor Alexander McLaren commerce may be a spirit
of selfishness or of service the one wins curses the other blessings the market is as much a place
of religion as the temple praise god i like i like that there's the real real religion is what
you do with your money yes i never thought of i never thought of i never thought
of monopolies is monopolists as being hoarders till just now. I never considered that before.
Yeah, they're cornering the market. Yeah. If you're, if you have a monopoly, there's nobody to
compete with you. Never thought about that before. The price is whatever you say it is.
Yeah, that's hoarding. Wow, that's a sin. Wow. McLaureen says the marketplace is just as much a place
for your religion as the church.
I can just see his eyes scanning that congregation in the 1800s in Manchester, England.
He had some wealthy people in his church.
He had a mega church at that time.
I'm sure his eyes locked on to a few people.
and then Robert Horton
the proverb teaches that trade is a moral act
hoarding is cursed
selling is blessed
yes
business done in fairness and mercy
is as holy as prayer
yes
amen
amen
good business is good religion
that's some good stuff today all right that's it all right well what a way to start off the
week here this is a great practical lesson today about dealing with finances about dealing
with giving probably have learned a lesson or two about hoarding today that you might not have
thought about before I just want to tell you I had some comments here on chat by the way
we are alive every weekday morning from eight to nine you can join our live chat each day
uh and so we get comments and questions along the way and we've had several people comment that they
felt convicted by today's message not not in a negative way rick but in a positive way that
god is stirring them up once again to examine their giving again and so that's good it's good
and so um you know that that's that's a great place to
start and for some of us we have to we have to have to have the discipline of
scheduling our giving I'm in that class of individuals that I have to schedule
my giving otherwise I would not have a compassionate heart I really I'm weak in
that particular area of my life about freely giving and so I have to program it
into my life and that might be a solution for some of you for me it's a solution
for some of you out there, Rick's one of these folks, just gives.
I mean, he just, he just loves to give.
Me, I like, okay, I'll give, but, so God has to regulate it with me and schedule it with me.
And so it works differently for different folks, different strokes for different folks, so.
Yes.
And, and Doc, I realize also at times I've given two.
quickly and not
waited on the Lord to tell me that person
was worthy of help.
It does require
I'd rather make that mistake than my mistake.
Yeah.
Look, this is
a great opportunity today
for
the Morning Manna Bible
class
to
sew into this ministry
faith and value
I try not to say much about finances.
I trust the Lord, but I will tell you we could use a boost.
We could use a boost.
And this is your opportunity.
There is a donate button on the app.
Whatever method you're watching us, there's a way for you to donate.
You can go to Faith and Values.
There's still, the old True News account is still there.
account is still there. It's still operating. We haven't taken it down yet. But the
donate button is there. It still works. It goes to faith and values. And then, of course,
here's the U.S. Postal Service. You can send a check or money order to us here.
And this is a good opportunity for you to act right now, to do something now. And so into this
ministry. I will say one more thing before we close. And this is not meant as for the purpose of fear,
but it is meant as awareness. Throughout the weekend, I'm not talking about all day long and all
night, but throughout the weekend, I was seeking the Lord. As I was doing projects, as I was doing
things. I was seeking the Lord for discernment about the immediate future where we're at right
now. And when I say, I'm talking about like September of 2025 going into 26, 27, where are we
right now? What should the church be prepared for? What should I be prepared for? What decisions do I need to make?
And what should I share with the body of Christ?
I just always think about the sons of Isacar.
They understood the times and they knew what Israel should do.
Yes.
Years ago, I used to interpret that scripture as, well, there was an old guy named Isacar.
and
if you had
if you had a problem
you couldn't figure out the answer
somebody would say
well you need to go down the road there
to the Isagar farm
he's got six boys
they're all smart
the sons of Isacar
he's got six boys
ask them they'll tell you what to do
they're smart
now that's not what I meant
the tribe
Iscar's tribe
it was a tribe
and he had 200 men who were called his sons not necessarily direct descendants but his sons
he called them his sons 200 it's like a a council almost like a parliament like a school
they ran the tribe they ran the tribe they were the tribal council and they knew they understood the time
and they knew what the tribe should do.
That's where the church should be right now.
There ought to be wise men and women
discerning the times and sharing with the church
what we need to do.
So I'm just going to pass this on to you.
This is not a thus sayeth the Lord.
This is not a prediction.
This is not a prophecy.
This is this is just Rick sharing what I believe the Lord revealed to me over the weekend.
I believe this fall we're going to see some major world events.
I'll give you two things.
I think the war in Ukraine is going to worsen.
The European globalists are determined to provoke Vladimir Putin into fighting all of Europe.
They're determined.
I believe they're going to send troops into Ukraine and Russia is going to kill them.
so it was released recently a secret document of the French government
telling all French hospitals to prepare for mass casualties
Doc we know where this is going
yeah the French are preparing to go to war with Russia
I don't think that's going to impact us, but yet, not yet.
But it is going to impact Europe.
And if you're in Europe, you need to be aware of this that the French government
is telling French hospitals, prepare for mass casualties by March of 2026.
Mass casualties.
Mass casualties.
The other thing, I believe that Israel and Iran are going to go back to war.
This is just a ceasefire.
People have forgotten this is a ceasefire.
From that war that was taking place months ago when Iran was bombing Tel Aviv, I mean,
Netanyahu had to beg to stop it.
The media doesn't want anybody to know.
Israel couldn't stop Iran.
So you're right, wait.
So anyhow, I think we're going to see Israel and Iran go back to war.
And remember, it's Iran's turn to strike first.
Go back and look, Israel hit Iran, Iran hit Israel.
Israel hit Iran, Iran hit Israel, okay?
It's Iran's turn to strike first.
I do believe that this is going to flare up.
And then Wade just mentioned Venezuela.
Yes, we're going to have war.
We're going to have war in South America.
Now on the service, they're telling us that this is about.
drugs and I'm sure that is partially true but that drugs have been coming up from
South America for decades that's right I'll tell you what it's about bricks
yeah not bricks of not bricks of a pot bricks of bricks of gold bricks yeah we're talking the
BRICS Alliance of Nations.
Yeah, Venezuela is sitting on the one of the largest oil deposits on Earth.
It's sitting on one of the largest gold deposits on Earth.
It's sitting on one of the largest rare earth deposits on Earth.
And it's about drugs, all right.
And the U.S. elite are not going to allow Maduro to join BRICS.
and transfer wealth into the BRICS alliance.
No way, that's right.
And they're going to force what this war in Venezuela is going to be
is to force China and Russia to come into the Western Hemisphere
and fight for Venezuela.
So all this is happening right now.
But there's more, there's more.
The economy.
is sputtering.
You've got this thing on life support.
I know everybody's, you know, the stock market's up and, you know, everything's great and inflation
is down.
I don't know, folks, just look at the jobs that are disappearing.
I'll give you two things.
I think I'm going to put it in my newsletter today.
Two things that came out in the past week just before the Charlie Kirk shooting.
And the shooting took the attention.
off these two things number one do you remember back in August early August
President Trump fired the director of the Bureau of Labor Statistics said she had
rigged the August jobs report that there were very few jobs created in August and
he said she rigged the the numbers and he fired her okay there's more to that story
she had been rigging the reports for over a year
oh maybe four years
it's going back into the Biden administration
she was a Biden appointee
and so what they found
is that
they overstated by a million
they
they said over a million new jobs
had been created in the last year
of the Biden administration
in the first couple months of Trump administration
and those jobs didn't
they didn't exist
in fact it was a loss
there was a net loss
it was a loss
so now
it come into grips with the fact that
the economy actually was losing jobs
and then
number two
since January
of this year
corporations have been
announcing job eliminations, mainly because of AI.
5,000 here, 10,000 here, 20,000 there, 2,000 here.
It's been going on since January.
You know how many?
About, I think the number is 892,000, almost a million jobs.
There's going to be tremendous job losses in the coming six months.
from AI.
Number three, real estate crisis.
There is a real estate crash every 18 years.
That would be exact 18.6 years.
The last real estate crash was 2008.
Add 18 years and you get to 2026.
I got one more.
So in my book, Megafar, I mentioned a farmer, Samuel Benner.
And he lost a lot of money in 1873, the panic of 1873.
And instead of just sitting there licking his wounds, he went to work trying to figure out what caused that financial crash and how did he miss it?
how did he not see it coming and about 50 years ago somebody discovered an old document
called the binner chart and he wrote a book in the 1800 somewhere i want to say 18 i don't know if it was
1885 1890 he wrote a book um it was something called like the binner prophecies
and he charted out the peaks and lows of the market until the year, I think, 2056.
Yes, got it right here, right?
There we go.
Yes.
That's a reprint of the book.
Benner's prophecies of futures, ups and downs, and prices.
What years to make money on pig iron, iron, hogs, corn, and provisions printed in 1884.
but he mapped this out to 2056 guess what according to the banner chart there's going to be a financial downturn in 2026
but there's something else doc i just learned this over the weekend i came across a video of a retired iowa university
university climatologists.
I know where you're going with this.
I saw the video too.
Did you?
Yeah.
You sent over to me this weekend?
Yeah.
Right.
And he talked about Binner.
He was in this speech, he was talking to Iowa farmers.
And so he showed the Binner chart.
Yeah, Doc, can you find the chart?
I was looking right.
Is there a picture of it in there?
Okay.
Anyhow, this is, I did not know this before I wrote Megafar.
Benner also studied tree rings.
Yeah.
He studied tree rings.
And he, he could chart the years of drought.
So it's a Benner, B-E-N-N-E-R, Samuel B-N-N-E-R, Samuel Binner.
so he studied tree rings and he was able to chart when there would be droughts so according to the binner
chart a drought on the scale of what was called the dirty thirties the dustbow of the great depression
and if you don't know
if you don't really know about the dust bowl
you should watch videos
it was horrendous
it lasted for nearly
10 years
according to the Benner's
charts back in the 1800s
another dustbow
should start in the year
2025
so
I searched to see if there were any dust storms this year.
And I found an article that said, oh, I've got to back this up.
He said that the dust storms would come every 89 years.
So you take the dustbow of 1936 and you add 89 years, you get to 2025.
I searched and I found an article that said,
this is just a couple months ago.
Chicago hit by worst dust storm in 90 years.
Yeah, I just put the link in our live chat right now.
And so Chicago's first dust storm in over 90 years in the independent.
So guess what?
Not only do we have war, not only do we have a financial,
financial crash. Not only do we have housing crash coming, but we also have a dust bowl drought.
And you know what the dust bowl drought did? It created food shortages because the dust bowl was in the Midwest.
It stretched down into Texas.
Cattle. Cattle died because they were, they suffocated breathing to dust.
Oh, my.
I'm telling you, my friends, Jesus Christ is your only hope.
And he is your supply.
He is your supply.
Put your faith and your trust in Jesus.
Christ and do it his way and his way is giving giving giving that's his way that's his economy give
he will bless you he'll keep you going glenn god put it on my heart to build a 20 by 20 green house yes yes do it
also doc i i read that the earthquake that was in russia several weeks ago i i got to figure this out how this works
that that massive earthquake that was in russia several weeks ago will produce
The coldest winter in the northeast United States, probably for 50 years.
It would be going back to the, what, 1970s?
Really?
Yes.
And I remember how cold it was.
I remember the Potomac River freezing solid.
I mean, it was solid.
That's where I grew up near the Potomac.
McRiver.
Okay.
So the farmer's
almanac says that the northeast is going to have a
terrible winter.
Cold and snowy. The rest of the
country is going to have a mild winter.
But Florida is going to have
a wet and cold winter.
I want to say cold.
Not freezing, but
cold and damp.
Rainy, cold rain.
That's farmer's
almanac. But actually, the rest of
the country is going to have a fairly mild winter.
But the northeast is going to have a very cold, snowy.
Yeah, Mary, Chesapeake Bay.
Yes, that's right.
The 78 blizzard, right?
Okay.
And, by the way, dust storms and dust molds and things like that
are not because of global warming, but because of global cooling.
Yes.
Yes.
And that's the other thing.
I have been saying for a long time that we're switching,
the planet is switching over to a global cooling cycle,
and I am convinced it's here.
We're in it now.
And that's on cycles too.
That's nothing unusual.
I think the powers that be know that.
Yes.
So that's my weather report.
And that's not being prophetic.
folks. That's just looking at, Jesus said, you look to the sky to see if it's going to rain.
How do you know that? You look, you see the evidence, you see the signs that tell you it's going
to rain. So even Jesus observed that there are things that we can observe in the world around
us. That's not being predictive or prophetic. It's just saying these things have happened
before. There's cycles. There's things that go on.
you know cycles in in government cycles in weather cycles in sunspots and everything else in
ocean currents there are cycles all these things and some of these cycles overlap and interact
but if you're looking for an easy to read understanding on this you need mega fire this is it
so rick has been taking all these years where he's been looking at cycles studying cycles
and put it into a very easy-to-read format, okay?
You need to get this.
Megafire.world.
That's megafire.
Dot world to get your copy today.
Yes, megafar.
world.
Carrie Bassett, she and her family moved from Fort Worth to PA.
She better get it in warm clothes, but you know what?
You might be better.
If this is another dust bowl, you'd be better.
in PA, Pennsylvania, because Texas was hit hard.
I watched the video last night.
It was recorded decades ago.
It was an old Texas rancher.
And he told the story as a boy.
His dad was a successful rancher, and he lost everything during the Dust Bowl.
Okay.
So, look, Doc was talking about cycles and the overlap.
That's what's happening.
In the 30s, you had a dust bowl, a financial collapse, and then it led to war.
So you had all those cycles together, dust bowl cycle, financial cycle, war cycle.
That's what I'm trying to get across to people in this book, Megafar.
When these things come together like this.
the the impact is monumental and the children of is a car discern the times and know what israel
should do okay right you know people don't like the people don't like well uh you might have
to pack up and move but let me tell you ask the people in oklahoma in 1936 if they had to
pack up and leave. Yeah. God's people move from their promised land to Egypt because of a
famine. The people in Oklahoma didn't sell their farms. They abandoned their farms. Right.
They abandoned. They never got them back. They just abandoned their homes and their farms to survive.
He couldn't live in the dust storms.
Stories I heard was just horrifying.
I have never ever deliberately studied the dust storm.
And I saw some historical videos that really just shocked me.
And I'm really, okay, that's what's starting.
Samuel Benner said in 2025, it's going to be a famine dust storm.
based on tree rings well anyhow get the book megafar dot world and buy an extra copy give it to somebody
and let's see who who mentioned somewhere up here somebody mentioned the uh oh yeah michael
the cascadian subduction zone that's another one which is uh
an earthquake fault in the off the coast of Oregon and Washington right so you got
that you got the San Andreas fault you got Yellowstone you got the Madrid area
Southern Missouri any one of these it could have be a life a globe altering event
that have that have happened before and not not in ancient history we're talking about recent history
recent as you know as you can compare history but these things do happen and you need to be thinking
what if not in a fearful way but in a way that says I'm prepared I'm prepared to at least
survive somewhat, but not just survive, thrive. Thrive in the midst of the storm that's going on
around us. You know, there are people, not a lot, but there are people in their mid to late 90s
who survived as a child survived the Dust Bowl. It would be interesting to find
them and interview them talk to them what was it like okay everybody
jesus is coming okay just keep this this is he is our hope amen prepare god's
people for the coming of the lord that's what we're doing we're not preparing you for
another election we're preparing you we're preparing the elect for the coming of the lord
when we're not preparing for the Antichrist
we're preparing for the Christ
Right
Amen
All the ante he wants to be
He's a loser
And we will get through it
Not going to be a picnic
We're going to get through it
The Lord will take us through it
Okay
But it's time we put on our big boy pants
And act like mature Christians
And start telling people
To get their lives straightened out
and get ready for the coming of the Lord.
Praise God.
Okay, we got to go.
See you.
All right.
See you tomorrow on Morning Manor.
