TRUNEWS with Rick Wiles - No Roaming Charges: Feds Haven’t Removed Chinese Hackers from U.S. Telecoms

Episode Date: December 5, 2024

We begin with a breaking story that has significant implications for national security and global telecommunications. The 'Salt Typhoon' hacking scandal, involving a Chinese state-sponsored group, has... compromised the networks of multiple U.S. telecommunications companies and providers in numerous other countries. This sophisticated cyberattack has allowed hackers to steal critical metadata, revealing who made calls, when, and from where—though not the content of the calls themselves. This breach poses a serious threat, particularly as it targets the communications of senior U.S. government officials and political figures. Despite ongoing efforts to eliminate these intruders, the hackers remain embedded in the affected networks, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced cybersecurity measures.Rick Wiles, Doc Burkhart. From all of us at American Reserves, Merry Christmas and happy preparing. We begin with a story that has significant implications for American national security and global telecommunications. The Salt Typhoon hacking scandal involving a Chinese state-sponsored group has compromised the networks of at least eight U.S. telecommunication companies and providers in numerous other countries. This sophisticated cyber attack has allowed hackers to steal critical metadata, revealing who made calls, when, and from where.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Though not the content of the calls themselves, that's what we're being told, this breach poses a serious threat as it targets the communications of senior u.s government officials and political figures despite ongoing efforts to eliminate these intruders again this is what we're being told the hackers remain embedded in the affected networks which speaks of the need for enhanced cyber security measures well this is true news for thursday december 5th 2024 let's begin our analysis and commentary of today's news by examining this report published today by politico. Senators fume over response to disturbing and widespread Chinese hack of U.S. telecoms. And as you see, there is Senator Marco Rubio, who is now the U.S. Secretary of State designate. And if he's confirmed by the Senate, we'll be running the State Department.
Starting point is 00:03:05 But this story is quite disturbing. It was published yesterday by Politico. And it says senators are fuming over the Biden administration's response to a recent massive Chinese government-linked hack of U.S. and global telecommunications systems, calling it the most disturbing breach of telecom systems in history. The breach, carried out by a group known as Salt Typhoon, involved the infiltration of dozens of companies, the hacking of phones belonging to officials, including President Elect Donald Trump, and potential eavesdropping on the phone calls of a large swath of the U.S. population.
Starting point is 00:03:49 On Wednesday, officials from agencies including the FBI, the FCC, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency trekked to Capitol Hill to brief senators on the latest intelligence around the breach. Some lawmakers emerged from that briefing fuming. And that's what we're going to talk about here today. So, Doc, let's start with Florida's Senator Rick Scott. Yes, Senator Rick Scott from the state of Florida here said there's no accountability in anybody sitting up there. They have not told us why they didn't catch it and what they've done to prevent it. If somebody came into my office and said, hey, look, something bad happened, don't worry. I'm responsible for it, but I'm not going to be responsible for it, and I don't have a plan to fix it, what would you do? You'd fire them,
Starting point is 00:04:41 he added. Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri said the extent of the breach was breathtaking and pushed for more information to be declassified. I think the American people need to know the extent of the breach here. I think they will be shocked at the extent of it, Hawley said. I think they need to know about their text messages, their voicemail, their phone calls. And this is, according to him, it's very bad. It's very, very bad, and it is ongoing. The frustration was felt across the aisle, too. Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Mark Warner of Virginia,
Starting point is 00:05:15 a former telecoms exec, took issue with these companies for leaving gaping holes in the security of critical systems. He said, quote, I think there's a huge concern, far and away the worst telecom hack. And the fact is that they are still, listen to this, still in the system, Senator Warder said to reporters. One more quote from here. It's the most disturbing and widespread incursion into our telecom systems in the history of the world. Not just the country, but because of how massive our telecom system is.
Starting point is 00:05:47 That's coming from Senate Intelligence Committee ranking member Marco Rubio. Speaking to reporters Wednesday, that's about as bad as it gets, he said. What surprises me, and we touched on the story several days ago, is that this is ongoing. The hackers are still in the system. They haven't removed them. The Chinese hackers are still in the system they haven't removed them the chinese hackers are still in our phone system and the fbi and the cia and the defense intelligence agency and cyber security infrastructure whatever nobody knows how to get rid of them. You know why, Doc? It's going to come down to they're buried so deep.
Starting point is 00:06:28 You're going to have to get rid of the entire phone system. I can't wait to go to Mobile World. Doc, this is going to be the topic of Mobile World in February in Barcelona. We're going to hear phone executives saying, we have to rebuild the entire system. Now, of course, the Chinese will be there. The Chinese delegation, Huawei, and all the Chinese officials will be there listening.
Starting point is 00:06:58 But the telecom guys are going to have to announce, we must rebuild the entire phone system. It just occurred to me, you know, Starlink launched a set of satellites today that, you know, the satellite-to-phone technology that Elon Musk is launching through Starlink-to-phone. And so is it possible that at some point in the very near future we may have to rely on satellite to cell technology bypassing the telecom system entirely at that point? A shutdown of cell phones? Wow.
Starting point is 00:07:35 I mean, that's a scary thought there. Twitter officials have not removed the Chinese hackers from our phones. Just think about it, Dr. Wright. Your phone may have been compromised by Chinese hackers. They said millions of phones. Right. Millions of phones in America. If our government can't remove, have not, if government officials have not removed them, then there's only one of several explanations. Number one, they don't know how to do it. Scary.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Number two, the Chinese are wormed down so deep that you can't get rid of them. Scarier. Number three, our government officials are okay with it. Scariest. Okay, so which one of those do you want to take? I don't want any of them. I don't want any of the doors. Can you think of a fourth one that's not so scary? No, I can't.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Unless they want the telecom system to collapse that'd be the only thing i could think of but that's so far out there that that's crazy talk doc unless they have a new system right well that's a possibility too or they're going to do a quote y2K remediation program. Everybody, you have to download this patch. Yeah. Or get a new updated phone of some kind. Yes, made in Langley. Just like we did back in 2000. But they're already in our phones.
Starting point is 00:09:16 Why would they need to do that? They have to get rid of the Chinese that are in our phones. But I don't know which one of those scenarios is the correct one but none of them are nice doc and remember the chinese were listening to donald trump's phone calls they were they were eavesdropping on Donald Trump. They hacked his phone. They hacked the phones of other people around him. You know that they hacked the phones of the people in the White House. So the Chinese have penetrated deep into our phone technology
Starting point is 00:10:00 and are listening to the calls. They're reading the text messages. They're scraping the emails, and they're building a massive database on key Americans in this country. They have a profile. They have behavior traits, patterns, a lot of information that they're gaining from those emails. Well, yes. Rick, before we go on to other stories right now, there's been a report off the coast of California of a 7.3 magnitude earthquake. 7.3? There is a tsunami warning for the San Francisco area right now, and there is a mandatory evacuation underway in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Starting point is 00:10:50 This has been developing over the past few minutes here. We're monitoring it, keep an eye on it here. But this, in California, evacuations are underway in the San Francisco Bay Area as residents prepare for the results of a 7.3 magnitude earthquake tsunami and so they're keeping an eye out for that any indication how far out not yet and so there because if it's not that far out that wave is coming in really soon right you don't have time to evacuate well that and they've got the video of evacuations underway in the bay area right now so we're we're going to monitor this keep an eye on this here as uh we continue with the news so this is happening in real time right now is what three what time three oh five three
Starting point is 00:11:37 seven yes zero seven another strange story we we didn't get to it yesterday, but more information has come out. And I felt like we needed to add it to today's schedule. We'll start with the New York Post message on bullets fired by UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson's assassin. Bear eerie link to book condemning insurance companies. Yes. Okay. So what is this about? You probably have heard this, that the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, Brian Thompson, was shot down, killed on the streets of New York yesterday. Right in front of the Hilton Hotel.
Starting point is 00:12:16 That's him walking there. In midtown Manhattan. He just, you know, he's going to a board of directors meeting or shareholders meeting, and the assassin came up behind him and shot him. A horrible event. He died, and he's shot from the back. But here is a high-level CEO walking in New York City with no bodyguards. Yes. It was 6.45 in the morning yesterday.
Starting point is 00:12:51 There was an investors conference that was going to be taking place at the Hilton about 8 o'clock. And so we have longer video here, Rick, that gives you more detail here. That's Brian Thompson that you see walking there. It became apparent pretty quickly that this was not just some random shooting that took place, but rather that he was targeted by this individual. And as more details emerge, especially with the messages on the bullets that were recovered from the scene, it has added another layer of complexity. So that's not a robbery.
Starting point is 00:13:29 No. That's an assassination. That's a murder. He was targeted for this. The shooter laid in wait for him. Knew he was going to be there. Right. So knew that there was a meeting in that hotel.
Starting point is 00:13:43 So I'm going to show you a book cover delay deny defend why insurance companies don't pay claims and what you can do about it written by mr j fineman i i think this book came out around 2010 this is not not a recent book. Now, here's why I'm showing you this book. Look at the title. Delay, Deny, Defend. Which the basis of this book is that insurance companies deliberately delay, they deliberately deny, and then they defend their denials. To keep you from collecting claims that you have presented to an insurer. OK, so that's the basis of the book.
Starting point is 00:14:33 So now what's happened is that there were the police found the bullet casings. Yes. And each bullet, they had bullets that had been inscribed these three words. Well, delay, depose, and defend. That was the word. Oh, depose. But it was close enough to this book title that it couldn't be just coincidence that this was targeted, that this was perhaps inspired by the title of this book.
Starting point is 00:15:08 But the three words, the three messages that were covered at the scene from the casings were delay, depose, and defend. That were etched into the bullets. Yes. So this was not just some, well, you know, I think I'll go kill Thompson next week. The message was put on the voice. Somebody thought this out. Well, who could it be?
Starting point is 00:15:30 Well, let's go back a few months, six months. This is July, Minneapolis, the headquarters of UnitedHealthcare. Here's CBS News in Minneapolis reporting 11 arrested during protests at united healthcare headquarters alleging company is systematically refusing to approve care right so this uh this was a uh a big left-wing activist protest last summer and we've got a short clip from CBS News. This is dated July 15, 2024. Let's watch. More than 150 people protested at UnitedHealthcare headquarters today. Nearly a dozen left in handcuffs. Are you an UnitedHealthcare Medicare disadvantaged member? Minnetonka police say the 11 people they arrested were blocking the street outside of the insurance company's office.
Starting point is 00:16:32 The organizers want United to stop denying claims. UnitedHealth Group said in a statement, we have resolved the member-specific concerns raised by this group and remain open to a constructive dialogue about ensuring access to high quality affordable health care okay so where am i going doc i believe that the assassin is will turn out to be a hardcore far left radical extremists, basically a communist. And the left, where we're at right now, Doc, in the post-Trump election, the American
Starting point is 00:17:15 communists have entered into the assassination phase. They are going to kill anybody they consider to be a fascist uh whatever term they they put on them i believe that they are you go on social media and look at the comments today by people who are saying this was fair to shoot this guy. Yes. He deserved it. Doc, that's scary. It is.
Starting point is 00:17:48 And there's been a massive shift since the election of Donald Trump. A lot of CEOs have been rethinking their policies toward DEI and things like that. And they've made a major shift to the right. I mean, we're talking like Mark Zuckerberg and others. And the left is panicking. That's right. They've lost control. Right.
Starting point is 00:18:11 And will their reaction be violence? Not violence in the streets, but violence at the end of a gun barrel. Right. I mean, Donald Trump had two attempted assassinations, and it was not Iran. Now we've seen a CEO shot down on an American city street going to a meeting. Who's next? Well, and that's the question. They were successful.
Starting point is 00:18:39 That will only embolden others to do it as well. Right. So we're in assassination season, folks. That's why I believe, Doc, before Donald Trump's term is over, we will be in a state of martial law. I think they will push him to the place that he's got to crack down to maintain law and order in the country. Another Politico article joe biden white house discussing preemptive pardons for those in the trump crosshairs i i searched the constitution i can't find preemptive pardons not there but politico reported last night President Joe Biden's senior aides are conducting a vigorous internal debate over whether to issue preemptive pardons to a range of current and former public officials who could be targeted by President-elect Donald Trump's return to the White House,
Starting point is 00:19:40 according to senior Democrats familiar with the discussions, Biden's aides are deeply concerned about a range of current and former officials who could find themselves facing inquiries and even indictments. A sense of alarm. There's the left again. Yes. The left is panicking. A sense of alarm, which has only accelerated since Trump last weekend. And here it is, Doc. This proves what I said said the other day i got it right on this one that proves that accelerate accelerated since trump's last week announced the appointment of cash patel to head the fbi patel has publicly
Starting point is 00:20:21 vowed to pursue trump's critics i said the reason that that joe biden pardoned hunter last sunday it came hours after donald trump announced cash patel would run the fbi that's right the left panicked they went oh my god cash patel running the fbi we're all going to go to prison and he will get approved i mean he'll he'll get the appointment yes but the left knows they're going to go to prison yes not for politics but for crimes but can you do a preemptive pardon that's at the heart of the question here if you've committed no crime why do you need a pardon okay so um joe biden pardoned his son. Right.
Starting point is 00:21:06 But he committed a crime. But he said for crimes he didn't commit or may have committed. All the way back to 2014. Right. Which is when he went to work for Burisma. That's right. Okay. So how can you give a pardon to somebody who hasn't even been indicted and convicted?
Starting point is 00:21:22 Right. Is that even constitutional? constitutional see this should be challenged in court oh absolutely and so can you can you pardon a person who hasn't been convicted we're in brand new territory here but the white house officials are carefully weighing this extraordinary step of handing out basically get out jail-of-jail-free cards, blanket pardons to those who've committed no crimes. At least we don't know that they've committed crimes, both because it could suggest impropriety, only fueling President Trump's criticisms,
Starting point is 00:21:58 and because those offered preemptive pardons may reject them. They're not going to reject them. The deliberations touch on pardoning those currently in office, elected and appointed, as well as former officials who've angered Trump and his list. See, they're blaming it on Donald Trump. And those who could face exposure include such members of Congress, such as January 6th Committee as Adam Schiff from California, now Senator-elect Schiff, and former GOP rep Liz Cheney of Wyoming.
Starting point is 00:22:28 Could it be for Adam Schiff deliberately lying and making up accusations against President Trump for telling the people he had proof, he had evidence of crimes committed by President Trump? And lying about it? And lying about it could it be for liz cheney did she participate in destroying the january 6th committee's documents and evidence is that what they're afraid of well why would she need a pardon rick why would you need a pardon now president trump has previously said that liz cheney should go to jail along with the rest of the unselect committee.
Starting point is 00:23:06 Also mentioned, now this is where it gets really interesting here. Also mentioned by Biden's aides for pardon is Anthony Fauci, the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who became a lightning rod for criticism from the right during the COVID-19 pandemic. It's the right's fault. That's who it is. No, no, don't tell me Fauci committed crimes. He should go to jail for torturing beagles. If nothing else, he should go to jail for that. How about for doing experiments on orphans?
Starting point is 00:23:40 How about for being involved in the development of aids of of aids of coronavirus and who knows what else i said years ago take him down to guantanamo bay waterboard him until he talks oh yeah and everybody got upset with you over that now they want to give him a pardon oh why does he need a pardon he didn't do we were told he didn't do anything wrong right he's a great hero a scientist and now they're going to give him a pardon remember even israel gave him a big giant check oh that's right he got that he got that the humanitarian check for being such a great guy no i can imagine uh i can i can envision Dr. Fauci calling Joe Biden saying, I demand a preemptive pardon. You know he's coming after me.
Starting point is 00:24:35 So they'll make, they'll create pardons, preemptive pardons for yet to be criminals who we know are criminals and then those who aren't criminals they'll accuse of being criminals yes like tulsi gabbard yes that's how it works that's the new system doc and now that you mentioned tulsi gabbard uh abc news the media is going after her you can see the various people in the trump cabinet that they're very afraid of right tulsi gabbard is one of them and uh so abc news says tulsi gabbard's views on russia shaped in part by kremlin propaganda outlet doc she reads Russian propaganda. She reads RT. That's what they're accusing her of. She reads RT.
Starting point is 00:25:31 And she's unfit to be the National Intelligence Director because she has read RT in the past. Doesn't this sound like have you... Then we're criminals, Rick.
Starting point is 00:25:47 Okay, well look where this is going i know i mean they've got years of me quoting rt they got the evidence have you ever looked at rt can you see being grilled by a criminal investigator? Have you ever read RT? Yes, I have. Then they are implying that reading RT is a criminal offense, that it makes you a Russian stooge. Yes. Okay, so I read RT,
Starting point is 00:26:18 but I read the Washington Post. Does that make me a Washington stooge? I read the BBC. Am I a stooge of MI6? I read France 24. Al Jazeera. Al Jazeera. The Wrestling Post.
Starting point is 00:26:36 We could go down the line. They're all state propaganda media. All of them are state propaganda. No, what they're trying to do is they're trying to you know attach tulsi gabbard to russia it's not going to work it's really not going to work so if you don't believe the official narrative of the american ruling class you're your traitor yes that's what they're saying if you do not accept their narrative on every issue, you are a traitor, meaning you have to be pro vaccine. You have to be pro coronavirus vaccine. You have to be pro lockdown, pro mask.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Yes. You have to be for war. You have to you want to kill Palestinians. Palestinians are bad. They need to be wiped out. Assad in Syria needs to be bombed until he can't see straight. I mean, just this is their narrative. You have to go along with it. And if you don't go along with it, you are a traitor. See, only a traitor to their state. The deep state. Their deep state.
Starting point is 00:27:46 That's what it's about. You have not sworn allegiance to their deep state. So who else is speaking up in this article? Well, since becoming President-elect, Donald Trump's choice for Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard's rosy posture toward Moscow, this is ABC News saying this, by the way, has prompted some Democratic critics to suggest she could be compromised, or perhaps even a Russian asset. They just got to throw that out there. Claiming that the ex-Hawaii representative, an Army officer, has forcefully denied. Three former aides said Gabbard left the Democratic Party in 2022. Rick, she regularly read and shared articles from the Russian news site RT,
Starting point is 00:28:33 which the U.S. intelligence community characterized in 2017 as the Kremlin's principal international propaganda outlet. Doc, if these people get their way, your career will be destroyed. If they have digital trail to your IP that you looked at Russian media, your career will be destroyed.
Starting point is 00:29:00 You will not be qualified to have a government position. You won't be qualified to have a government position. You won't be qualified to have a teaching position, certainly at a college or university. They'll have key industries where you will not be allowed to work if there is evidence that you read Russian news. Now, never mind that Tulsi Gabbard currently has a top-secret military clearance right now. I mean, she possesses one now. But to accuse her of being a Russian asset because she read an RT site? I mean, that's just crazy. I don't think these guys think that they can derail her. What they're seeking to do is to smear her so that when she's in office, that they can challenge everything she says.
Starting point is 00:29:53 And as she starts to dismantle deep state operations, they can say, look, she's doing the work of Putin. That's what they want to do. They want to tarnish her so that people are suspicious of her. Yes, of every decision she makes. Well, is this coming from Putin? Right. Did she get this from RT? Well, it was not clear to those former staffers whether or not whether or when she stopped frequenting the site. One former aide said Gabbard continued to circulate articles from RT long after she was advised that the outlet was not a credible source of information.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Tell me which outlet is a credible source of information. That way we can settle this. Well, they would say New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC. The same ones that made up the story on Russia interfering with the election back in 2016. Yes. That the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian propaganda. Those outlets. See, they play this game.
Starting point is 00:30:59 The Hunter Biden laptop was Russia disinformation. Right. Turned out to be true. We knew it was true back then. But we had to wait until CBS verified that it was true, which they told us for years it was propaganda. But they play this game both ways, both sides. They're telling you this is Russian propaganda, and yet they are the ones creating the propaganda that's right and if you don't follow their narrative they accuse you of being a believer
Starting point is 00:31:31 of russian propaganda so that's their tactic if you use your brain if you think if you're independent in your analysis of things going on in the world if that means you're not a here you're independent in your analysis of things going on in the world, that means you're not a patriot. If you seek balance in reporting and coverage, checking one source against another, that used to be called journalism, Rick. I know, but now it's called treason. We're not in a free country anymore.
Starting point is 00:32:07 The people are acting up. The common people are acting up. And it's really bothering them because they realize they're coming out of their coma. Yes, that's what they're really scared of. The public is coming out of their coma. They're snapping out of the delusion, the propaganda delusion. Just wait until we get the fluoride out of the water. people really then they'll get they'll get their backbone um so um what you're seeing in this article is the smear campaign against uh tolsey gabbard uh next one is pretty i like this one this is from this excited me when i saw it last night because
Starting point is 00:32:45 i know who billy long is do you oh yes so he was a missouri congressman that's right for the springfield missouri area and now donald trump has nominated him to uh be the commissioner of the internal revenue service so why is this cool oh this is super cool because, first of all, he was the successor to Roy Blunt. Roy Blunt had been in Congress for many years. He stepped down. Billy Long stepped up into this. But Billy Long is a longtime resident of Southwest Missouri. He's been around there for as long as I can remember.
Starting point is 00:33:21 He was a disc jockey on KWTO in Springfield, Missouri, back when I lived in Springfield. When you were going to college. Many moons ago, yes. And he was a talk show host. Yeah, he was a talk show host on a local radio station there. And he's an auctioneer. He's an auctioneer. He actually went to the University of Missouri, Columbia for three years and said, this isn't for me. Dropped out, took an auctioneer course, and has the largest auction business in the state of Missouri. And I've been to Billy Long auctions and everything. But this is super cool, this guy. And since he's been out of Congress, he has been fighting for consumers on tax issues big time. That's been his big shtick, if you will.
Starting point is 00:34:09 And when I saw this last night, I was like, oh my God. So he's actually been representing American taxpayers who are in trouble with the IRS. That's right. But he's an auctioneer, and that is what's really cool about him. As a matter of fact, we have this short clip of him back when he was in Congress, and he went into auction mode one day. Yeah, he's talking about the national debt. That's right. Watch this. So one other thing.
Starting point is 00:34:37 Being an auctioneer in Congress, the way our debt is running out of control, they find it very handy to have Jeff Duncan and myself here in Washington. We are one of the few people that can actually keep up with the national debt. I'm at a trillion. Two trillion. Now three. You're able to buy them. Three trillion. Now four.
Starting point is 00:34:54 Four trillion. Five trillion. Six trillion. Seven trillion. Eight trillion. Nine trillion. Ten trillion. Ten trillion.
Starting point is 00:35:00 Ten trillion. Eleven. Eleven trillion. I'm here at 12, 12, 12, 13. You're able to buy them. You're out of here. 13 trillion. 14. 14 trillion.
Starting point is 00:35:07 Now 15. I have sold at 14 trillion. Thankfully, Mr. Speaker, we also can say those numbers backwards. So we get the spending under control here. I'll be back. The thing about when that was recorded, the debt was at 14 trillion. Now it's 30 trillion. Double. Double.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Well. No, I think this is a great choice. I really, really do. Let's wish him well at the IRS, another agency that needs to be cleaned out. NBC News, incoming Trump administration plans to deport migrants to countries other than their own. I don't like this one, Doc. Yeah, this is an interesting story here. The incoming Trump administration preparing a list of countries that it said it may deport migrants when their home countries refuse to accept them.
Starting point is 00:35:58 That's according to three sources familiar with the plans. Now, these countries include, but may not be limited to, the Turks and Caicos, the Bahamas, Panama, and Grenada, the sources said. The plans could mean that thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of migrants would be permanently displaced in countries where they do not know any of the people or the language and have no connection to the culture. Now, it's not clear if the migrants would be allowed to legally remain to work and live in the countries to which they're deported. It is also not known what kind of pressure, either economic or diplomatic, that the Trump transition is applying to countries to get them to agree or might apply once President-elect Donald Trump is inaugurated in January.
Starting point is 00:36:42 Your thoughts on this story, Rick? Well, number one, they already know that countries from where these people came from, which are going to primarily be Central America, South America, although there's a number of them from other countries, we already know from this article that many of those countries are telling the Trump administration, you can forget it. You are not deporting those people back to our country. We're not going to receive them. We're not going to allow them to get off the plane. We don't want them. Why don't they want them? Because they got rid of the worst people in their country. That's right. They emptied out, in some cases, they emptied out prisons and jails
Starting point is 00:37:28 and sent the most hardened criminals on the road to America. So that's number one. They don't want them back. Number two, why would the beautiful Caribbean island of Turks and Caicos? Why would the Bahamas? Why would Panama and Grenada? Why would they want hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants in America, many of them criminals? Why would they want them? They wouldn't want them.
Starting point is 00:37:57 This is going to become a dumping ground. Well, then how are they going to get them there? Is the U.S. Navy going to just park in their harbor and unload? Yeah, I don't understand the logistics of this, how this is going to play out. Well, the only
Starting point is 00:38:13 reason they'll take them, Doc, is because I'm assuming the incoming Trump administration is going to offer billions of dollars to these islands and these Central American countries. Take them. We'll pay you billions of dollars.
Starting point is 00:38:30 And now you're going to have these little islands, these little Central American countries say, hmm, we can make billions? But the knife cuts both ways, too. If they refuse, then they get cut off from any potential aid or commerce from the U.S. Okay, but why punish them? Why not punish the countries that are refusing to take back their own people? Why would you tell little Turks and Caicos, we're going to punish you, we're going to put sanctions on you if you don't take these immigrants from Nicaragua?
Starting point is 00:39:01 I mean, why not tell Nicaragua, hey, you take them back or we make your life miserable. That's who you put the pressure. You put the pressure on those countries, the home countries. So there's a lot in this, Doc, that doesn't make sense to me. Now, of course, this is all just reporting by NBC. I mean, after all, RT is propaganda, but NBC isn't. Right, right. And so.
Starting point is 00:39:27 As if maybe it's not even true. That's right. We don't know. We don't know. It's possible that NBC made this up. Yeah, I see. Or this was fed to NBC. This is three sources familiar with the plans.
Starting point is 00:39:39 Familiar with the plans. What does that mean? So. Well, the next one. ABC News, Hagseth promises to stop drinking if confirmed. Once again, this is propaganda here. This headline
Starting point is 00:39:54 is propaganda. It's like saying, I'll stop beating my wife when I get the job. Right. When you read the headline, you're thinking, dear Lord, this man is an alcoholic. Yeah, that's what the implication is. They're going to confirm him to be the Secretary of Defense.
Starting point is 00:40:10 I promise if you make me Secretary of Defense, I'll lay off the liquor. Yeah. But you've got two Republican senators saying that's exactly what Hegseth said. Yeah, I think it's their soft way of going against Hegseth. Putting a knife in your back? Yes. So Hegseth, Pete a knife in your back? Yes. So, Hegseth, Pete Hegseth, Promise Senators. Now, remember, this is ABC's words here.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Pete Hegseth, Promise Senators, he stopped drinking. I've stopped. And I won't drink if confirmed, according to Missouri Republican Eric Schmidt. Some of the misconduct accusations included claims he's been drunk in public. Well, listen, there's been a lot of Congress people that have been drunk in public, too. So what he offered up to me, I know he has with other senators, too, that he's not drinking and that's not something he's going to do when confirmed here, Schmidt said a day after meeting with Higgs. Senator Roger Wicker, the incoming chairman of
Starting point is 00:41:05 the Senate Armed Services Committee, which would vote to send Hegseth's nomination to the full Senate, affirmed that Hegseth committed to not drinking if he was confirmed. The allegation was made about him being intoxicated at several times, and so the questions that every member will be asking him led to his statement, Wicker said. Pressed to confirm, Hegseth told him he would stop drinking altogether. Wicker replied, that's right, that's exactly right. Now, North Dakota Republican Senator Kevin Cramer said he was encouraged by Hegseth's pledge in their private meeting. Just listen to the way this is worded here. To abstain from alcohol as defense secretary. He said, my commitment is not to touch alcohol while I have this position, said Kramer, who
Starting point is 00:41:50 lost a son to alcohol addiction in 2018. So he's going to go back to drinking after he's done with the Pentagon job. But we got his word for four years he'll stay sober. So I said, it's really important that we have a clear-eyed secretary of defense if the phone rings at three in the morning, Kramer said. He said, Hegseth replied he would be clear-eyed at 3 in the morning, 3 in the afternoon, and every hour in between. Now, if we can just get the same commitment from every member of Congress, too. Right.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Well, how about when the phone rang at 3 a.m. with Lloyd Alston and there was nobody to answer the phone? That's right. Because he was gone, and nobody knew it. And so was the assistant. Yes. So the phone rang and rang and rang and rang, and nobody was there to pick up the phone. Anyway, I don't know if Pete Hegseth is going to make that nomination. He and Matt Gates were the two weakest, politically. Politically, they were the weakest of the nominations.
Starting point is 00:42:54 And, you know, so Matt Gates is already out. Matt Gates will probably end up getting a job in the White House. It doesn't require political Senate confirmation. Pete Hegseth, he has been damaged. It's been horrible smearing of him, of his personal life.
Starting point is 00:43:16 Somebody got their hands on a letter, an email, from his mother. She sent it on TV and said, you know, that was written in a moment of... I was upset. It was written at a time when he was divorcing I think his second wife and
Starting point is 00:43:31 his mother was actually on the side of his second wife and sent an email to him and said, you know, you mistreat women and so forth. But the point is, he's been damaged. And if he doesn't get confirmation, where does he go?
Starting point is 00:43:51 He doesn't go back to Fox. Right. He's lost that career. Where does he go? Yeah, it had to be a corporate job somewhere. I mean, that's the only thing. He couldn't come back to politics. He can't come back to politics, can't come back
Starting point is 00:44:05 to media. No. At least for a while. No, he's going to be severely damaged. He might make it, I don't know, but it doesn't look good. And when they're reporting that President Trump has a backup, Governor DeSantis, that is not a good sign good sign right they've got the next player lined up to take your place supposedly supposedly yeah but governor de santis didn't deny it there was no denial you know that's a good point rick he didn't come out and say that's not true so you have to assume it is true and he didn't come out and say i'm committed to the state of florida and the people of florida that's a good point. All right.
Starting point is 00:44:46 So speaking of Florida. Speaking of Florida. So Donald Trump's pick to lead the Drug Enforcement Agency withdrew his name from consideration. This was Chad Chronister, who was the sheriff, is the sheriff, of Hillsborough County in Florida. Right. On the other side of the state, opposite us, over in Tampa. Tampa Bay area. And so he got nominated, and then a day or two later, he quit.
Starting point is 00:45:20 He just said, I'm not going to do it. I'm out. Yeah. When you first heard the nomination of Chad Chronister, what was your initial reaction to it? I honestly didn't recognize his name. I don't know the names
Starting point is 00:45:34 of every sheriff in the state of Florida. I know Hillsborough County. I said, okay, that's Tampa. I said, okay. So he's apparently, he's got good relationships with the Republican Party in Florida. And, you know, somehow his name got sent up the food chain. And it was a close relationship with Pam Bondi, too. They had worked well together.
Starting point is 00:45:58 That's right. So they were kind of floating up together in this nomination process. That's right. It looked like a done deal. And then there were some issues that started popping up here immediately afterwards. All right. So we're going to go back to March 30, 2020. You know who that man is. I think you recognize him.
Starting point is 00:46:17 That's Pastor Rodney Howard Brown. Do you remember when Pastor Howard Brown was arrested and jailed for violating Hillsborough County ban on church services during the coronavirus pandemic. Right. And it was Sheriff Chad Chronister who enforced that against Rodney Hag 2020 says sheriff's deputies arrested the head of a Florida church, accusing him of ignoring local orders against mass gatherings due to the coronavirus pandemic and showing reckless disregard for human life. Meanwhile, the bars were open. Yes. The river at Tampa Bay church held services over the weekend and Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said he had no
Starting point is 00:47:05 choice but to take action against the pastor Rodney Howard Brown. Quote, last night I made the decision to seek an arrest warrant for the pastor of a local church who intentionally and repeatedly chose to disregard the orders to set in place. The order set in place by who? Our president. Wait a minute. Who was the president? Who was the president? That was Donald Trump at the time.
Starting point is 00:47:32 That was. Sheriff Chronister said, I'm enforcing the lockdown orders put in place by President Trump. Do you catch that? Yes. In his mind, he was following orders. And who was under Trump? Fauci.
Starting point is 00:47:55 That's right. And who was the king of lockdowns? Fauci. Yes. So, it went on to say in that article, speaking about this arrest, his reckless disregard for human life put hundreds of people from his congregation at risk and thousands of residents who may interact with them this week. And of course, this story floated to the top immediately
Starting point is 00:48:19 after the announcement of Chad Chronister to the DE DA position. I think there are probably better candidates for that position. But at the same time, you know, you really have to question his judgment here. He was willing to go along with the COVID mandates when they were in full force. And arrest a pastor, of all things. He made national, he made world headlines by arresting Pastor Rodney Howard Brown. Now, the next one, Donald Trump chooses a New York doctor to be the next U.S. Surgeon General. Doc, anything important in this story? Well, first of all, she has another Fox News talking head, if you will.
Starting point is 00:49:08 She's been featured prominently on Fox for a number of years. But what's significant about her, once again, relates back to COVID. And so we'll go back in time. She was pro-vaccine. Absolutely right. And now she's going to be the Surgeon General of the United States. Right. See, Donald Trump has never renounced the COVID vaccines. Oh, no. It's the Trump vaccine.
Starting point is 00:49:33 He's the father of vaccines. He's very proud of those vaccines. And he nominated to be DEA chief the man who arrested a pastor over the vaccine, over the lockdowns. And now has nominated this particular doctor, Dr. Jeanette Nishawat, to be the next U.S. Surgeon General. And let's, in her own words, she supports the vaccine. And we'll go back in time here to April of 2021, where she appeared on Fox in one of her stop sets. We're talking about this. So listen to in her own words here.
Starting point is 00:50:13 Now that more and more Americans are getting vaccinated, medical experts say COVID-19 survivors may have more intense side effects. Here with her own expert advice is family and emergency medicine doctor and Fox News medical contributor, my friend, Dr. Jeanette Nashua. Hey, Doc, how you doing? Good morning, Lawrence. Doing great. So tell us about these side effects that people are experiencing. So, Lawrence, the most common side effects, and only about 40 to 50 percent of people will experience them, are pain at the site of injection. So if you get it in your left arm, it'll be sore maybe for about a day or two. Sometimes some people will develop a fever.
Starting point is 00:50:50 You can also get a headache. I had a little bit of a headache, a little bit of fatigue, a little bit of body aches. But the good news is, Lawrence, that it's short-lived. It only lasts maybe about a day or two. And if you take a little acetaminophen, a little Tylenol, even a little Motrin, that can help with your symptoms. And you got to remember the benefits of the vaccine greatly outweigh these short-lived side effects that are easily treatable and can protect you, keep you out of the hospital, keep you off of ventilator and keep you from dying. I wish I could go get a vaccine, Doc.
Starting point is 00:51:29 I missed out on it. Doggone it. I missed out on the heart disease and the strokes and everything else. See, the symptoms will just last a short time. You'll be better and you won't die. How many millions of people died from the vaccines? She's pro-vaccine. How is Bobby Kennedy going to deal with her?
Starting point is 00:51:51 That's a great question. Did Donald Trump ask Bobby Kennedy, who do you want to run the CDC? And did Bobby Kennedy say, I want a pro-vaccine doctor in there? Doc, there's one area that Bobby Kennedy, I promise you, I guarantee you, there's one area that's off limits to Bobby Kennedy, and that's the COVID vaccines. I think
Starting point is 00:52:16 he was already told before he took the job, Bobby, you can do a lot of investigation, you can do a lot of changes, but you're not going to touch the COVID vaccines. They're sacred. You know why? Because it leads back to Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:52:31 But even more than that, it would lead back to the Pentagon. Ultimately, yes. Donald Trump endorsed the vaccines because the Pentagon told him, this is a national security issue and you have to do what we say. And Fauci was, Fauci, Trump was reporting to Fauci. During COVID, Trump reported to Fauci. Not the other way around. No. That's why he never fired him. He never fired Fauci. Never fired Fauci. Because he couldn't. He didn't have the power to fire Fauci. Fauci was working for the Pentagon.
Starting point is 00:53:13 And Fauci will get a pardon. Because they're not going to let anybody investigate the COVID vaccines. Yes, go ahead. You had mentioned in our little break here that she's related to someone significant already being considered. She's the sister-in-law of Congressman Mike Walz of Florida, who is now the nominee to be National Security Advisor.
Starting point is 00:53:41 So, look, you've got two pro-vaccine people in here, National Security Advisor and Surgeon General. They're going to circle the wagons around the vaccines. And her sister, Julia Nishawat, was Donald Trump's Deputy Homeland Security Advisor. That's right. Her sister's involved, too. Yes.
Starting point is 00:54:03 It's a big club, and you ain't in in it it's good work if you can get it wow uh speaking of uh work somebody who might be out of work is bill maher you see him throwing his hands up i'm done i'm tired i'm you know uh donald trump's re's reelection has just put Bill Maher into a tizzy. He doesn't know what to do. And he said, I hate shit. I don't want to spend the next four years talking about Donald Trump. No, because what else is he going to say at this point? That's what I was right.
Starting point is 00:54:39 So all the all the shows were built around hating Trump. Yes, he's got enough sense. Bill Maher's got enough sense to say, first of all, it's not going to work to be an opponent of Donald Trump. And I don't feel like doing it for another four years. He's just tired. And he's got a lot of money and he doesn't need to do it. That's right. Now, the article here from The Post says that Bill Maher is ready to throw in the towel. During Sunday's episode of his Club Random podcast with guest Jane Fonda, she's still relevant, which was recorded before the presidential election in November. The comedian expressed his fear over Donald Trump emerging victorious over Vice President Kamala Harris. The mayor said he might quit his HBO talk show because I don't want to do another four years of discussing Trump and his policies.
Starting point is 00:55:31 So will he be missed? In my hobby of looking at very old TV and radio shows. I saw a really old Tonight Show, Johnny Carson. And Johnny introduced a new comedian, Bill Maher. Really? Yes. Bill Maher looked like he was maybe late 20s, and he was funny. He was funny, and he wasn't vulgar. Right. And he wasn't political. He's was funny. He was funny and he wasn't vulgar. Right.
Starting point is 00:56:06 And he wasn't political. He's just funny. Bill, go back to being funny. That's what comedians do. And occasionally he is funny. Yes, that's what comedians do. They're funny. Just be funny.
Starting point is 00:56:20 Okay, you'll get your mojo back. You don't have to talk politics. When did comedians start talking politics? Can you imagine Johnny Carson? Jack Parr? And they all made jabs at- Lighthearted, lighthearted. But it was an equal opportunity, Jack.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Yes, they would get both parties. Yes, they made sure that they were neutral, okay, because they didn't want the audience to go against them. Somewhere, late-night talk show hosts and comedians became mean-spirited, vulgar, foul-mouthed. And they took sides. And highly partisan. I don't watch any of them anymore it's disgusting even if they were politically one way or the other when it came to the broadcast and
Starting point is 00:57:13 everything they tried because you know we had a diverse population that's right uh and so i know i can't imagine carson or or even l. I mean – Leno didn't do it. He stayed out of it. I got some more news about people nominated by Donald Trump. This is a telegraph in London. Trump picks Warren Stevens as ambassador to UK. Now, maybe that doesn't mean anything to you. As excited as I was about Billy Long, when I saw this, I said, oh, my Lord.
Starting point is 00:57:47 Warren Stevens? Folks, do you know who Warren Stevens is? We're about ready to tell you. Well, let's go back to 2016. The Arkansas Democrat Gazette newspaper. Little Rock's Warren Stevens spends millions of dollars against Trump. Against him. 2016.
Starting point is 00:58:06 Doc, he's doing it again. Donald Trump's doing it again. He's nominating the people that tried to stop him. Now, I'm not going to read the article. He spent a lot of money with his brother, Jackson Stevens. There you go. Now, do you remember, if you're my age or older, you certainly remember the name Jackson Stevens. Just think back.
Starting point is 00:58:34 Think back to Bill and Hillary Clinton, governor of Arkansas. The Rose Law Firm. The Rose Law Firm. Just start thinking. Get that memory going about Clinton scandals, okay? And then somewhere, the Stevens family will pop up, okay? So here's a 1993 article from the Seattle Times. Meet the family that bankrolled Clinton.
Starting point is 00:59:02 1993. Well, what family are they talking about? It says, the Stevens businesses are often represented by the Rose Law Firm, where Hillary Clinton has been a partner until the mid-1980s.
Starting point is 00:59:18 They owned ARCLA, incorporated the Shreveport, Louisiana, natural gas utility from which Clinton tapped Mac McCarty of McLarty as his White House chief of staff. Their investment firm serves as a business manager to the Bloodworth Thomassons, the Hollywood couple who helped choreograph Clinton's public image. All right.
Starting point is 00:59:42 Now, for those of you who have been in the conspiracy business for decades, like me and Rick, that this was like, you know, we're just doing the whole thing all over again. We're bringing the Stevens and the Rose Law Firm back into the White House. But Donald Trump's going to drain the swamp again. He's really going to go after them this time. Doc, it was the Clintons that, you know, paid for the Russian stooge dossier. Yes. And yet he just nominated to be ambassador to the UK
Starting point is 01:00:17 the man whose family bankrolled the Clintons. A small world, isn't it? A very small world. Have you ever seen the movie The Firm with Tom Cruise? Hal Holbrook. Yes. That movie was based on the Rose Law Firm. That's right.
Starting point is 01:00:34 I forgot about that. Yeah. That movie. And the intrigue and the murderer and everything that's involved. And so, you know, that tells you the level at which Rose Law Firm operated in. Yes, because one of their lawyers was found in a park in Washington, D.C. during the Clinton administration. Mr. Vince Foster himself. That's right.
Starting point is 01:00:55 Committed suicide by shooting himself in the back of the head. That's right. He was Rose Law Firm. But, hey, those were the old days, Don. Those were the old days. That's an old conspiracy conspiracy they don't do that stuff anymore they've gotten out of that uh this one is funny to me uh trump suggests canada could become the 51st state he told he said this to pierre not pierre that's his father
Starting point is 01:01:22 to to justin trudeau see i know see how old i am and, that's his father, to Justin Trudeau. See, I know, see how old I am. I called him by his father's name. He said this. I thought his father's name was Fidel. Fidel, well, yes, his foster father was Pierre. And who was a Soviet agent, just happened to be a soviet agent so there were witnesses at mar-a-lago and overheard donald trump say this to justin trudeau trudeau scurried down to florida because mr trump said um you know if you don't lock down the border and stop the illegals from coming over, I'm going to put 100% tariffs on everything from Canada.
Starting point is 01:02:08 You won't be able to get anything in here and sell your products. That scared the daylights out of Justin Trudeau. He flew down to Florida, went to dinner with Donald Trump a few days ago, supposedly Donald Trump said to him, if you don't like it, we could make Canada America's 51st state. I love it. I'm not laughing at our Canadian. I'm just laughing at the boldness of Donald Trump. Look, I alternate back and forth with Trump.
Starting point is 01:02:44 He's good for a laugh. I mean, for sure. I mean, one hand he's putting the Stevens in power, and then in the next hand he's putting Justin Trudeau in his place, you know. Trump is a unique person to watch in action. So we got a video clip from Fox News. Let's watch. And tonight we're getting some new details about that Trump-Trudeau dinner from two people who were at the table. We are told that when Trudeau told President-elect Trump that new tariffs would kill the Canadian economy, Trump joked to him that if Canada can't survive without ripping off the U.S. to the tune
Starting point is 01:03:25 of $100 billion a year, then maybe Canada should become the 51st state and Trudeau could become its governor. And he wasn't joking. No, I don't believe it. He wasn't joking. He was sending a message. Doc, he was sending a message to Trudeau we'll take you over or more realistic alright just take this idea of what I'm going to say
Starting point is 01:03:57 write it down put it somewhere in a box and we'll get it out later a couple years from now which we commonly do Put it somewhere in a box and we'll get it out later, a couple of years from now. Okay. Which we commonly do. Yes.
Starting point is 01:04:17 Is Mr. Trump planning to do what George W. Bush couldn't do? Oh. You want to give me five? Oh, man, that's great. I like that. That's going back to the 90s too. Okay. What? That's to create. The union yes is donald trump going to sell to the maga crowd you know what guys
Starting point is 01:04:34 you want to know something we're just going to take canada we're going to take mexico and greenland and greenland and we're going to make a bigger America and the MAGA crowd yeah let's make America bigger again they'll buy it they'll eat it up and he'll pull off what George W. Bush couldn't do
Starting point is 01:04:59 bring about a North American Union that would solve some of the immigration issue, wouldn't it? It would. See, they're all legal now. You've got just a little bitty border at the bottom. They're all legal now. Guess what? You're all legal. Now, he
Starting point is 01:05:15 trolled him the next day. And there's the meme he put on Truth Social. Doc, I think he's serious. I think he's got a plan. I do.
Starting point is 01:05:33 And there's some hidden meaning in that. I saw some social media folks talking about that mountain that's there. It's the symbol for Paramount, the movie. Oh, yes. And is he saying this idea is Paramount, that this is serious? Oh, man, that's thinking at another level. So anyway. Or is he thinking about buying Paramount?
Starting point is 01:05:59 At this point, we can't even write the script moving forward at this point. Okay. Well, right now, see, gonna i'm gonna end this program i'm gonna do some some animal videos okay because i i'm where i'm at folks with news i'm basically going into a fetal position doc i'm just i'm just i've had 25 years of it but it's wilder now than it's ever been it It is. And I don't like it anymore. I don't like reporting the news. I don't like reading it. I don't like analyzing it.
Starting point is 01:06:30 It's disgusting. And it's depressing. And it doesn't leave me feeling good at all. Because I've been doing it for 25 years. And it's like I've been doing it to help people. Hey, do you understand where we're at in the world? You've got to get right with God, and it's not helping a lot of people. And so I'm just at the place where I'm like, I see what's coming.
Starting point is 01:06:53 The early 2030s were going into a mega war, massive war, folks. I came home from Myrtle Beach with the full understanding that the war that I saw in a vision in 1998 is just a few years ahead. It was like the good news is you've got six or seven years. The bad news is it's really going to happen. You've got six or seven years. Yeah, it's really going to happen. And it's not going to be a skirmish, not going to be a conflict. It could end up with two billion people dying and that's only a few years away and so i'm just trying to focus
Starting point is 01:07:34 more on what is right in life i'm enjoying teaching morning manna i see a class of people showing up five days a week for an hour, hungry, thirsting for the Word of God. Yes. Okay. That satisfies me. I'm spending—see, I spend—you know what, Doc? I thought about this today. I was looking at my time. I spend four hours on morning manna three hours of study one hour
Starting point is 01:08:08 of delivery right true news i spend three hours on research preparation building this program and one hour delivery four hours that's an eight hour job i put in eight hours just on two podcasts i've already put in a full day's work. And then I continue going. Okay. But I'm putting in equal amount of time on teaching the Word
Starting point is 01:08:33 as I am delivering teaching news. Right. The Word satisfies me. It builds me up. It refreshes me. It refreshes the people that hear me teaching. You teaching. It refreshes me. It refreshes the people that hear me teach it. And you, teaching, it refreshes them. It nourishes them.
Starting point is 01:08:50 The news, we deflate them. We bring the people down. We tell you, hey, it's all going to burn. I guess it's the yin and yang here. You know, folks, get it in your mind that this life is very, very fragile. We're here as vapor. That's what the Bible says. Our lives are like vapor. It's like wind.
Starting point is 01:09:20 It comes and it goes. And where did it go? Yes. Okay. What's important in life just get back to basics what's important in life and for me i love animals okay and i i i in my private time i look at things that make me happy i look at things that make me smile things that make me feel good.
Starting point is 01:09:45 I don't go home and watch news. People may think, he must be eating, living, and breathing. No, I'm not. I don't want it. I don't want to look at it. It's disgusting. I don't want to watch Fox News.
Starting point is 01:10:03 I don't want to watch CNN. I don't want to watch cnn i don't want to read anything i don't want people sending me videos saying here you gotta watch this watch this guy on this i don't want to see it i'm done i've spent half of my day my work day in it okay i don't want to hear i don't need more of it okay i just want to i just want to bring it down decompress decompress and think about what is lovely and pure and good. Okay. And for me, children and animals. Oh, and you're going to love these videos.
Starting point is 01:10:33 Children and animals. Okay. What do we got? We got two animal videos. Let's see. This is number 3132. What are we watching here? Okay.
Starting point is 01:10:42 So I just thought this was just a great video Here's two best friends They just love to race each other Rick Isn't this just pure Isn't this just innocence here I mean just They're not worried about World War 3
Starting point is 01:10:58 They're not worried about The Rose Law Firm or anything They're just worried about that fence That's right The fence is the only thing separating those two. But you can turn around. You can turn around and run again, okay? But I love this video.
Starting point is 01:11:11 You will like this one, Rick. Rick, you are not a f***ing husky. Get in the house. Oh, the weather outside is frightful. But the sky is so difficult. Oh, my god. Captain. No.
Starting point is 01:11:36 Let's go. Come on. Good girl. Aspen. Aspen, don't do it. When we finally kiss goodnight. How I'll hate going out in the storm. Aspen don't do it. Are you in good play? My dear, we're still goodbye. What I needed to see. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
Starting point is 01:12:19 Did you see the video I shared with you the other day of the bear in the snow? Yes. Oh my gosh, that's hilarious. Oh yeah. That is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. A bear by himself playing in the snow. Yes. You know, when you see these animals, these videos of these large animals playing, having fun, you realize that, you know, they're not the big terrifying animals that they're portrayed to be.
Starting point is 01:12:43 I guess, unless they're having a bad day. If they're having a bad day and you're on the receiving end, it might be. Yeah, you're not supposed to be there with them at the time. But I think, isn't it interesting that God has instilled, even within animals, a sense of joy? Yes, joy. Even if, you know, but we refuse to live in joy. And, you know, the Bible says the joy of the Lord is our strength. So, you know, Rick and I, we do the news every day and we talk about the news.
Starting point is 01:13:18 And we have to laugh at the news a lot of times because that's the only thing we have left. That's the only tool we have left that's only two we have left in the toolbox but you need to learn to be happy in the lord be joyful in the law in the lord folks you're not getting out of this world alive okay and so you may as well laugh along the way and take it seriously yes but laugh but laugh laugh and be happy and pay attention to what is important in your life. Laughter makes the devil mad. All right. Hey, don't forget about our Christmas special. We appreciate it.

And today we are studying the final verses of chapter 27, the gospel according to St. Matthew. So our verses are 62 through 66.
Starting point is 01:17:20 Let's pray. Dear gracious Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Father, thank you for everything that you do for us. Thank you for victory through Jesus Christ. Father, we invite the Holy Spirit into this Bible study that he would take his seat at the head of the table and direct this lesson and teach all of us about your son and his kingdom. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen.
Starting point is 01:17:51 And good morning, everyone. So glad to have you here with us from all over the world, whether you're in Malaysia, Brazil, Russia, the UK, Canada, or just right here in the good old U.S. of A. We appreciate you being here today. We continue our study today in Matthew chapter 27. We're picking back up at verse number 62 today. So if you've got your Bibles, and you should always have your Bibles, a pen or a pencil and a piece of paper with you as we study. And I do too, folks, just so you know.
Starting point is 01:18:22 I'm taking notes even as we go along because I'm learning new things along the way too. So I want to encourage you to do that. Matthew 27, starting at verse 62, going to the end of the chapter here. And it says, Now the next day that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together under Pilate, saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said while he was yet alive after three days I will rise again command therefore that the sepulchre be
Starting point is 01:18:56 made sure until the third day lest his disciples come by night and steal him away and say unto the people he has is risen from the dead, so the last error shall be worse than the first. Pilate said unto them, you have a watch, go your way, make it as sure as you can. So they went and made the sepulcher sure, sealing
Starting point is 01:19:17 the stone and setting a watch. God bless the reading of his word. Okay. Verse 62, now the next day, that followed the reading of his word okay verse 62 now the next day that followed the day of the preparation the chief priests and Pharisees came together
Starting point is 01:19:33 unto Pilate so doc which day is this verse talking about the next day would be it's after the day of preparation so if you think of the timeline here
Starting point is 01:19:49 and this is just my opinion observation everything but if Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday Wednesday afternoon he died and was laid in the tomb Wednesday evening that would have been the first night.
Starting point is 01:20:06 Okay. But that was also the beginning of the first day of the, there was a high Sabbath. So the Thursday was a high Sabbath. So it was a Sabbath day. The day after that. So it's not the regular Sabbath. No, it was a high Sabbath.
Starting point is 01:20:27 It was the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles. By the way, Passover was not a Sabbath. So Wednesday was not a Sabbath. But Thursday was a high Sabbath. And so there was no preparation that could be made that day. The next day, which in our timeline by our Western thought, Friday is the day of preparation. That's when the women went and bought the spices to prepare to, in our mind, embalm Jesus. But it's not an easy thing.
Starting point is 01:21:01 It's not like you can just buy the stuff off the shelf, ready, prepared, and everything, and just go prepare a body. It takes a whole day of preparation. So that's Friday. So in this verse, verse 62, it's the beginning of the weekly Sabbath, Saturday, weekly Sabbath, which began at sundown Friday night. And so this is the morning, if you will, of Saturday, probably the best way to put it.
Starting point is 01:21:30 The Pharisees came to Pilate. This is Saturday morning and requested the guard posting at that point. And so that was a Sabbath that day. So this is where we, and this is my opinion and everything, you guys can do your own study on this, but this is how we get the three days and three nights. It began Wednesday evening, that was the first night. Thursday night was the second night.
Starting point is 01:22:03 Friday night was the first night. Thursday night was the second night. Friday night was the third night. And it's in my opinion that Jesus did not rise from the dead Sunday morning, but actually Saturday evening, the beginning of the first day of the week. Because when they showed up on Sunday morning, Rick, the tomb was already empty and had been empty maybe even close to 12 hours by that time because we read later on that jesus was on his way to galilee yes but it was the first day what is considered saturday night that was the beginning of the first day of the week that's's right. So, yeah, it's... So, when people say, well, you know, we worship on the first day of the week, that's Sunday. Yes, but in those ancient times, that day started at Saturday night. Right. So, now, it's hard for us sometimes to correlate this information
Starting point is 01:23:03 because we have such a mindset. All right. So our day begins at midnight and ends at midnight. But in the Eastern or Middle Eastern concept, the day begins at sundown. And so you're having to reconcile these two different thoughts about time. So for me, Rick, verse 62 is a key verse here because it says that there was a day of preparation. If we hold to the idea that Jesus was crucified on a Friday and rose on a Sunday, which is the traditional general view, where's the day of preparation at? Well, see, this is why, Doc, with me studying for this, and I'm in agreement with your analysis on the timing, but as I was studying this, I found so many highly educated, respected Bible commentators who were actually teaching the opposite.
Starting point is 01:24:04 Right. Teaching that, you know, the traditional Western view, and they're ramming through this timeline that he was crucified on Friday and rose on Sunday morning. There's no way to get three days and three nights in there. There's just no way. Yes. Well, one commentator said, it's possible because the Jews counted partial days as full days.
Starting point is 01:24:38 So that's why I text you early this morning. I said, help me make sense of this. And I'm glad you explained it because my spirit bears witness with what you said. It makes sense. Well, and for me, one of the things, as I mentioned before, that clicked in my mind years ago was this very verse right here, verse 62, about the day of preparation. So in the traditional view, Friday through Sunday, if he was crucified on Friday and Saturday was a Sabbath and he rose on Sunday, where is the day of preparation? Because the day of preparation was not a Sabbath. And so there's at least one other day in there.
Starting point is 01:25:34 That's right. Now, verse 62 says, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate. So now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation. So we've agreed the next day is the Sabbath, right? No, the next day after the, yes, you're right. This is Sabbath morning, Saturday morning. Yes, the regular weekly Sabbath.
Starting point is 01:26:04 Yes. Okay. saturday morning yes the the regular weekly sabbath yes okay so on the sabbath day the chief priest and the pharisees came together unto pilot well the first thing i see is that these religious hypocrites violated their own rules you got. Thank you for pointing that out. Yes, they did. And this is emphasized also in verse 66 too when it says, so they went and made the sepulcher sure. You know, on the Sabbath day, you can only walk a certain distance. Right.
Starting point is 01:26:37 So how did they get the Pilate's castle? That's right. So they, to get rid of the Messiah, they'll violate the Sabbath. Yes. That's right. So to get rid of the Messiah, they'll violate the Sabbath. Yes. That's the point I wanted to make. Yes. Killing the Messiah was so important that violating every other rule was justified. Yes.
Starting point is 01:27:00 So they weren't allowed to walk by their own rules. They were not allowed to walk and travel that rules. They were not allowed to walk and travel that far. They were not allowed to do business. Well, they're meeting with Pilate. Right. They didn't go to Pilate's palace to, you know, have a Sabbath service there. No, they were there on business. So, they were their own business. So they were violating their own principles.
Starting point is 01:27:29 Thanks for bringing that out, Rick, because a lot of people miss that. So why did they go? They went to Pilate. They conferred with him about securing the tomb against potential tampering by his disciples because they feared that the disciples of Jesus would sneak into the tomb, steal his body, and then tell Jerusalem, Christ has risen. And that's what they were afraid of. And they went to Pilate and said, hey, this is really serious. We could have a major problem here. If his body disappears, they're going to spread misinformation.
Starting point is 01:28:17 Isn't that what they were saying? There's going to be misinformation in our society. There's going to be a false narrative told that Jesus rose from the dead. And we can't pilot. We've got to stop this fake news. They're going to try to have fake news. And the best thing to do is head it off, stop it before they do it. But what they were really afraid of was losing control of the narrative.
Starting point is 01:28:47 That's right. About Jesus Christ. Sounds familiar. Yes. At that moment, in those days, they were in control of the narrative. They had declared him to be a criminal. They had him executed and everybody in the city was told you don't want to be associated with that jesus christ he's dead now anyhow but you don't want to be associated with him he was a
Starting point is 01:29:13 criminal pilot put him to death and so they were they were they were in control of the narrative hey this is what's going down in the history books yes our side of the story they knew that if the body disappeared there would be quote fake news and they would lose control of the narrative so so they they went to pilot they said we need you to secure the tomb, post guards, and be prepared for some shenanigans. But what we're seeing is that God used the schemes of the chief priests and the Pharisees to provide more evidence that Jesus rose from the dead.
Starting point is 01:30:05 Amen. Amen. to provide more evidence that jesus rose from the dead amen god allowed them to put the guards there like okay this is going to make the story really good and what did they do we'll we'll read this later um what they they paid they paid the guards to lie after the resurrection they went back and they got the guards and they said, look, we'll pay you. You just need to lie. You know, don't let these people say that he got out of a tomb with a rock in front of it and guards in front of it. You got to make up a story. Well, I'll tell you, the Jews have been lying about the resurrection for 2,000 years.
Starting point is 01:30:49 And they still pay people to lie about his servants. Nothing new under the sun, Rick. Oh, the ADL. That's one of the biggest ones. So, we go to verse 63. This is the Pharisee speaking to Pilate. Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive,
Starting point is 01:31:26 after three days I will rise again. The actual Greek words is I rise. It's in the present tense. I rise. So the Pharisees refer to Jesus as that deceiver. in the present tense. I rise. So, the Pharisees refer to Jesus as that deceiver. They can't say his
Starting point is 01:31:51 name. They call him that deceiver. They hate him so much they can't even say, Jesus, the one you just crucified. They go, that deceiver. There's hostility, disdain in their voices.
Starting point is 01:32:14 They're implying that he was a false teacher who led people astray. And isn't worthy of even having his name mentioned. They've got so much contempt for him. They're like, we can't even say his name because he's such a scoundrel. But Pilate knew who they were talking about, obviously. Pilate's like, the man is dead and you're still here. I mean, you want me to kill him again? What do you want me to do?
Starting point is 01:32:53 I mean, you know, Pilate was like, you people need to give it a break. Yeah. Pilate said to him, is he not dead enough for you? Right. What's your problem now we want guards in front of his tomb seriously you want me to you want me to post roman soldiers in front of a tomb of a dead man yes sir that's what we want why he told people he would rise again and his his slimy sneaky little disciples will come in there at night and roll that stone
Starting point is 01:33:37 away and go in and get the body and then tell fake news to the people of Jerusalem. And then, Your Majesty, we're going to have to deal with the fake news. And we all know, we all know he's not going to rise again. Well, this is what's fascinating about it, Doc. Who's saying this to Pilate? The chief priests and Pharisees. The Pharisees. What did the Pharisees believe about the resurrection?
Starting point is 01:34:21 Well, the Pharisees believed in a resurrection. Yes. But the chief priests, which generally were out of the Sadducee class, Well, the Pharisees believed in a resurrection. Yes. But the chief priest, which generally were out of the Sadducee class, did not believe in a resurrection. Yes, but the Pharisees did. Yes. So the main difference between the Pharisees and the Sadducees was the belief in the resurrection. Yes. And everybody in Judea knew the Pharisees stood for the concept that on the judgment day, the righteous would be resurrected.
Starting point is 01:34:57 Yes. Everybody knew it. And here you have the Pharisees inside Pilate's palace telling a pagan Roman governor, we are terrified he's going to be raised from the dead. Yes. And we read later on in the book of Acts that Paul actually used that concept, that division between the Pharisees and Sadducees about the resurrection to his advantage. When he was on trial, he split them and got out of the trouble he was in. He got them fighting. but doc, you would think that the Pharisees would have thought, you know what?
Starting point is 01:35:47 This is actually to our advantage. If they steal his body and claim he was resurrected, this is actually to our advantage. It proves the resurrection. Yes. I mean, think about it. It would have,
Starting point is 01:36:03 it would have been to the advantage of the pharisees views about resurrection to let the let the disciples go ahead and do it in their mind they're thinking they're going to steal the body and and claiming his resurrection they could have went along with it and said hey we know he didn't rise from the dead, but hey, this makes our viewpoint look stronger. Right. But here they are. They're terrified there's going to be a resurrection.
Starting point is 01:36:37 But the very thing that they stood on, they're terrified it's going to happen. Yes. Which means they really didn't believe it. Right. So, the Pharisees recalled, this is
Starting point is 01:36:56 the other thing that's important, the Pharisees recalled Jesus' prophecy that he would rise again after three days, which proves their awareness of his doctrine. Yes. It means that the Pharisees, who believed in the resurrection of the dead,
Starting point is 01:37:18 fully understood the meaning of Jesus' words when he said, destroy the temple, and he would rebuild it in three days. Therefore, they lied when they said in that sham trial Yes. He said he's going to destroy
Starting point is 01:37:36 the temple. Well, now after the crucifixion, they know exactly what that meant. They knew it at the trial. That's what I'm saying, Doc. That's what I'm saying, Doc. That's what I'm saying. They knew it was a lie what they were saying in the trial.
Starting point is 01:37:54 They are convicting themselves now after the crucifixion because they're now admitting the pilot. We knew all along he was going to be resurrected. And yet before the crucifixion, they're telling pilot, hey, this guy says he's going to destroy the temple and be raised from the dead. No, he's going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days. Now, after the crucifixion, they're telling pilot, hey, he was teaching all along that he was going to die and be raised from the dead. So which one is it?
Starting point is 01:38:34 See, Doc, by the words of their tongue, they hung themselves. That's right. They hung themselves by their tongue if you let liars talk long enough they'll expose themselves as liars yep just let them talk let them go don't be frustrated with liars. Just let them talk. They'll expose themselves as liars. They'll forget the lie they told yesterday.
Starting point is 01:39:14 Now, the other thing. The Pharisees, the Pharisees knew Jesus said he would rise from the dead. Yes. But his disciples didn't. Now, the Pharisees are at Pilate's house, at the palace, saying, hey, governor, this man said he was going to come out of the grave. His disciples are running away hiding. They're the ones that should have been running through the streets of Jerusalem saying, hey, get ready.
Starting point is 01:39:54 He's coming out of the grave. So the Pharisees had more faith in the disciples than the disciples. Yes, yes, yes. That's the point I'm trying to make. Yes. The unbelieving Pharisees had more faith in Jesus' words than the disciples. See, the devil knows the words of that Jesus' disciples might steal the body and claim that he had risen, and they wanted to prevent this scenario from happening. All right? had risen and they wanted to prevent this scenario from happening all right now the sadducees remember i'm talking now about the sadducees not the pharisees the sadducees did not believe in the
Starting point is 01:40:57 resurrection of the dead on judgment day so shouldn't it have been the Sadducees who were at the palace because they were afraid the disciples would steal the body and fake a resurrection? Why did the Pharisees fear a fake resurrection and not the Sadducees? It just seems odd to me, Doc. Well, as I mentioned before, the chief priest, generally the chief priest came out of the Sadducee class. And so... Yes, but most of the people there were Pharisees. Right. The resurrection crowd. But most of the people there were Pharisees.
Starting point is 01:41:45 Right. The resurrection crowd. So the Pharisees recognized Jesus' prophecy, and yet they rejected him. And were afraid he would pull it off somehow. Remember, they saw him do things, and even the greatest miracles, they still came up with explanations. Yes. He's Houdini. He's a magician. He's got a devil. And all along they knew he was the son of God. They knew it.
Starting point is 01:42:32 They knew it. What a revelation that is. If you ever can really get that down in your gizzard, that they knew that he was the son of God, he was the uh you know in the parable the vineyard he's the heir they knew it they remember at the end of that chapter where it says they knew uh they knew that jesus was talking about them yes they knew the messiah they knew it so we get to verse 64 command therefore that the sepulcher be made sure until the third day lest his disciples come by night and steal him away and say unto the people he is risen from the dead. So the last error shall be worse than the first. That's the key line. So the Jewish leaders, once again, they asked Pilate to secure the tomb with soldiers, to prevent tampering with the tomb, to block any attempt to create a fake narrative, fake news. but by requesting security until the third day,
Starting point is 01:44:07 once again, they acknowledged, they understood Jesus' words, that he wasn't talking about building the temple in three days, the physical temple. They understood he was talking about himself again let liars talk eventually they'll they'll out themselves as liars now they make this reference to the last, the last mistake. And they said it would be more serious than Jesus' Messianic claims. But by calling Jesus' resurrection claim his last deception, they unwittingly affirm the significance of the prophecy yes
Starting point is 01:45:08 they're saying this houdini this magician this guy that could be playing at it at a casino in las vegas as magician. He is so slick. He's so good that somehow he's already worked it out with his disciples that if they kill him, he's going to pull off one final trick. Right. And he's going to fake his resurrection. See, people fake their deaths, but Jesus is faking his life. Who has ever faked his life? And so they refer to the resurrection as the last deception, the last trick.
Starting point is 01:46:04 Because they realized how important a resurrection would be. Yes. You know, it's really fascinating here. They understood that. They understood the scriptural implication of that. It reminds me of when the scribes and others appeared before Herod at the birth of Jesus. They knew where the Messiah would be born. They knew the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem.
Starting point is 01:46:34 They knew the time frame. They knew everything about it, and yet they missed the Messiah then at his birth. And now, once again, they're missing the Messiah at his death. Yes. Because the religion was more important than the Messiah. They missed the first birth and they missed the second birth. Praise God. So verse 65, Pilate said unto them, you have the watch, you have the the guard go make it as secure as you can so he gives pilot grants the jewish leaders permission to secure jesus's tomb and uh so i i think so doc were they roman guards or temple guards and that's a great question rick
Starting point is 01:47:24 it's my opinion. I've been saying along Roman soldiers, but that's not certain, is it? No, there could be some debate on this, but here's where I land on it. If they had access to guards prior to this, there would be no need to ask Pilate for a contingent, right? If they were temple guards, all the chief priests would have to do is say, go guard this tomb, and there would be no need to go before Pilate. The fact that they went before Pilate, to me, in my opinion, reinforces the idea that this was a Roman contingent that was guarding the tomb. Now, that's where my logic takes me no no that makes
Starting point is 01:48:07 sense you're absolutely right they didn't need permission to send temple guards that's right now technically the temple guards are supposed to guard what the temple and it was the sabbath and so the temple guards were doing what they were supposed to do but the uh pharisees and the uh high priest weren't at the temple they were at the pilot's place and so uh but the fact that they had to request from pilot pipe they wouldn't go to pilot and say hey can you send a temple guard over no they're that would make no sense uh So in my opinion, my persuasion that it was a Roman contingent. Plus it was the Sabbath. Keep that in mind too.
Starting point is 01:48:52 And I believe that they thought government guards would carry more credibility than their temple guards. I could see that, yes. Also, the tomb was sealed with a Roman seal. Yes.
Starting point is 01:49:10 So you're not going to put a Roman seal on it with temple guards because it's a religious matter. Pilate would say it's a religious matter. You do what you want to do. But a Roman seal was put there, and only a Roman official could do that. That's right. But a Roman seal was put there, and only a Roman official could do that. That's right. I picture Pilate being, Kurt, do it, do it, go, get out of here. I'm done with you people.
Starting point is 01:49:41 I killed the man for you. What else do you want me to do? All right, do you think he's going to come out of the grave? Do you think they're going to steal? Okay, get some guards out. Don't come back. Don't come back here again talking to me about Jesus. He's done with them.
Starting point is 01:49:59 He's fed up with them. But he gave them what they asked. This is the second time he gave them what they asked for. To this day, there are millions of Jews in the world who believe that the disciples stole the body. They have been taught in synagogues that you and I are believing a 2,000-year-old lie. They look at the Christian churches and say they're duped they fell for a lie these people have believed this lie for two thousand years and that's why it's hard to get Jews to believe on the name of Jesus because they've been indoctrinated. The whole thing was fake news. Right.
Starting point is 01:50:51 So again, Doc, I think this strengthens the belief that they were Roman soldiers. Pilate said, you have the watch. Yes. You have it. To me, that's him granting permission to dispatch Roman soldiers. Approved. I'll do it. It wouldn't make sense for him to say, I approve you sending your temple guards. Right. sense for him to say i approve you sending your temple guards right um so uh the tomb was secured by a a roman seal that was the official uh
Starting point is 01:51:39 symbolized the official authority of locking this the tomb uh i mean today imagine a u.s government seal placed on a door or like police tape or something like that i mean yeah uh but this was a secure seal i mean one you know uh when we it was a wax seal and it was put on there, you would know if the seal had been broken. Yes. Right. So if you went up to a building and the door was sealed and this official emblem was on the door said, sealed by the U.S. government, do not tamper. You would know. I am not touching this yes that's going to be a federal offense if i open that door that's that's the significance of the seal that if it had been somebody else's seal people said i don't care i'm going to do it anyhow but a government
Starting point is 01:52:45 seal approved by pilot nope you're not going to touch it um so the the jewish leaders were successful in securing the tomb against tampering. Yes. Which set the stage for validating Jesus' resurrection. But if there's anything I see here is the opponents of Jesus took his prediction of resurrection more seriously than his disciples. Yes. His disciples should have been camping outside the tomb. I'm not going to miss this one. This is going to be the greatest thing he's ever done.
Starting point is 01:53:44 Don't know how he's going to do it. I'm coming out here with a sleeping bag. He said on the third day he's coming out. You know, why weren't they? Hey, you know, I slept in the Garden of Gethsemane. I'm not going to sleep now. I'm staying up all night. I'm going to sleep now. I'm staying up all night. I'm going to see this.
Starting point is 01:54:13 You know, it's ironic that the Pharisees and the high priest believed out of fear. But the disciples did not believe out of faith. Yes, Doc. They believed out of fear. They believed. But they believed out of fear. Yes. Fear would come true.
Starting point is 01:54:47 So my last comment is, how many other things did Jesus say that's in the Bible that we don't believe him today? We don't believe him. I'll let you chew on that one all day. What did he say that we don't believe? I mean, I'm being pretty rough
Starting point is 01:55:00 on the apostles. I mean, they were disciples at that time. They didn't have the Holy Spirit. Got to keep this in perspective. They didn't have the Holy Spirit yet. They didn't disbelieve after
Starting point is 01:55:15 they were filled with the Holy Spirit. But what about us? We have the Holy Spirit. What things did Jesus say that we still today don't believe him because i find in conversations with christians certain things they don't believe and they'll argue and i'll say but it's right there in the bible he said it well that i don't believe it i'm sorry i don't i don't but you don Bible. He said it. Well, I don't believe it.
Starting point is 01:55:45 I'm sorry. You don't believe that he said it? No, I don't believe it means what you say it means. I'm just reading it as it is. Well, it doesn't mean that. Well, what does it mean? Well, it doesn't mean what you say. I've had people talk to me like that. Right. These are red letter words in the Bible, the words of Jesus.
Starting point is 01:56:10 So even today, you have lots of Christians in churches who don't believe what Jesus said. Right. What he said plainly. Yes. They believe in Jesus, but they don't believe what he said. So what did he say that you don't believe? That's something I'm asking myself. What did he say?
Starting point is 01:56:38 I don't believe. Because what we're seeing here today is the disciples really didn't believe he would be raised from the dead on the third day. Right. If they believed it, they would have been camped outside the tomb, expecting, like little kids. He's coming out. Get ready. Get ready. Hey, wake up, Peter.
Starting point is 01:57:02 Get ready. He's going to be coming out soon. You know, everything he said came true. So he said he's going to come out on the third day. Instead, the Pharisees said, we better get some guards up there and make sure he doesn't get out. Amazing. Humans, Doc, humans. What do we say about humans, you know?
Starting point is 01:57:38 All right. Hey, that's it for today. Thank you so much. We've finished Chapter 27. Tomorrow we begin chapter 28 um by the pace that we're going we'll probably be finished by wednesday okay and um we'll uh we'll then spend uh we'll spend the next day um in uh review we'll go over your questions and comments and things like that. And then we'll, we're going to take a break for the semester.
Starting point is 01:58:09 You guys, you've, you just did a full year of college level study and you need, you need to be commended. You need to be commended. You just, you're almost with days away from completing a full year of college level study of the Word of God. That's right. You've been to Bible college. You have several degrees.
Starting point is 01:58:40 How would you compare the course that we have taught this year to the intensity of courses that you went through? I would say what we did in this past year, Rick, is seminary level, really. Seminary level? Yes, because we've gone in-depth into the language. We've gone in-depth into the culture. We've gone in- into the culture we've gone in depth into the archaeology uh you know and really it is a seminary level uh course i mean it really is because uh and there's a difference between bible college and seminaries bible college is more of a general you know
Starting point is 01:59:20 introduction into a study of a particular topic or passage or a book of the Bible. But in seminary, you go into the language, you go into the culture, you go into the archaeology. And we did that every single day. And so this is a seminary level course that we've done. Wow. Yeah. So what... Now I feel smart, Doc. I had no idea. You're smart now. I had no idea. But, you know, Rick, and I've taken Bible college courses,
Starting point is 01:59:52 seminary level courses, but I've never gone in depth into a book of the Bible like this one. And because... And you've said this too. It has forced you and I to dig back into the Word and really allow the Word to challenge what we believe.
Starting point is 02:00:12 What do we really believe? And, you know, you mentioned that, what things did Jesus say that we don't believe? Well, I think we've gone through a year of that, actually. Yes. Where we've read the words of the Scripture, the book of that, actually. Yes. Where we've read the words of the scripture, the book of Matthew, and each day we've been challenged
Starting point is 02:00:31 by what the word is saying. Jesus himself, the word, is saying to us, and Rick, whereas before we were satisfied with this, this study in Matthew raises that bar to here. You got it.
Starting point is 02:00:47 Doc, if you would have asked me a year ago, let's say December of 23, because we started this course in January of 24. If you would have asked me in December of 2023, Rick, do you know the book of Matthew? I'd say, of course I know. I've read it countless times. I've been a Christian for decades. I know the book of Matthew. Now I'm looking back going, I didn't know it. Yes. I didn't know it. I didn't know that there
Starting point is 02:01:19 was so much under the hood. We lifted up the hood and we looked down deep. Yes. Had no idea. Such a blessing. And by the way, Rick, you asked the other day for our class members to send messages as it relates to Morning Manor and how it's been a blessing to them. I opened up my inbox this morning on faith and values. Dozens of people that wrote overnight.
Starting point is 02:01:45 This is in addition to the past couple days. Dozens of people overnight wrote and said, we just want you to know, keep doing morning manna. I learned more in the scripture in the past few weeks, few months, past year, than I ever knew about the scripture before. You guys make the word of God come alive. That's the biggest compliment to me. You make the word of God come alive.
Starting point is 02:02:12 Up to this point, it had been stale and dull and a burden, but now we said this is a resurrected Jesus here that we're talking about. This is important to us. The reason that the Bible is alive is because he is the word and he's alive. Yes. And by the way, if you haven't had a chance to send me a message related to that, I'd sure appreciate it just to let me know. And Rick, the response, of course, is overwhelming. They want to see Morning Manor continue.
Starting point is 02:02:48 And whatever book, the Bible that we end up studying, they want to continue with this class. And don't worry, we plan on continuing, folks. We're not going to retire Morning Manor quite yet. Oh, no, no, no, no no no no no we got years and years of i mapped out the other day just the number of verses in the bible and the pace that we're going how many years it would take us to teach all the books of the bible believe me we we will be here for a decade. Think about it, Doc.
Starting point is 02:03:30 Yeah. We'll be here until into the 2030s just to get through the entire Bible. There's a sense of job security in that, you know. It is. Yeah, the Lord will keep you going if you're doing that kind of study. father might be
Starting point is 02:03:46 saying to jesus uh jesus says it's today today you said no uh wait rick and doc have to finish this book here and then we'll yes so oh man i can't i'll tell you i have an idea i want so much to share it i want to talk about it I don't know if it's the right time. It's been in my heart for a couple of years, and now the last couple of weeks it's been stirring, like do it, do it, do it, get it going, do it. Okay. I want to start a Bible college for children.
Starting point is 02:04:24 All right. Think about it. Not for adults. A Bible college for children. All right, think about it. Not for adults, a Bible college for children. Not a physical college. You're not going to send the kids off to a college campus at age six, but a digital virtual college for children. And we would give them degrees. They would pass. They'd get get certificates they'd get degrees can you imagine a child by the time they they leave the uh sixth grade they have a
Starting point is 02:04:55 bachelor's degree in biblical studies i think it's i think it's the wildest idea i love it can you imagine you're 18 years old and you've got a PhD in the Bible? Yes. You know, nobody's done it. Nobody's done it. What a way to turn the world around so that when they go to college, they know more than their atheist professors. Praise God.
Starting point is 02:05:30 And now what you're sending are far-breathing Christian evangelists into the colleges. All right. I love the idea. I want to do it. And I believe the Lord wants me. He gave me the idea. He spoke to me about it one day. He just leaned over my shoulder one day and said, Rick, I didn't see him. I just felt him. He said, have you ever thought about a Bible college for children? And then it just disappeared.
Starting point is 02:06:02 He just whispered the idea. And I can't get it out of my mind. So that's what I got in mind. Okay. And the children, they need all the help that they can get. Yeah, we called it Sunday school. Yeah. But this would Sunday school. Yeah. But this would be intense.
Starting point is 02:06:29 This would be daily, not Sunday. This would be daily. Children would take classes daily. They'd have to pass. They'd have to answer questions. They'd have exams. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 02:06:45 And the classes would be taught by animals. Not humans, it'd be animals. Why not have a penguin teaching the book of Matthew? Or a rabbit. I mean, do something fun with it. All right. I've spoke out the dream. It's out there, Doc.
Starting point is 02:07:09 It's out there. It's been released. Lord, bring it true. Make it come to pass in Jesus' name. Be careful what you speak out. We're learning that this week, aren't we? Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely.
Starting point is 02:07:22 Things come true. Hey, we got to go. Yeah. Reminder tomorrow we are doing communion, the Lord's Supper. So be prepared for that bread and either grape juice or red wine. Participate with the Lord's Supper with us. Also, a reminder, if you have comments about morning manna, just message me directly here on Faith and Values. And I'm collecting these, putting them all together, and would really appreciate your feedback on that. And one other thing, too, any questions that you have related to the book of Matthew,
Starting point is 02:07:58 anything that we've studied this past year that maybe is still hanging out there that's unanswered in your mind, let us know those questions too, because we'll have a few days where we'll answer some of those questions and talk about that as we finish Matthew up here. We don't want anyone to have any unresolved concerns about the book of Matthew, so please do not hesitate to let us know if you have a question regarding anything that we've studied. Either we didn't make clear or maybe you missed it and didn't get the whole story.
Starting point is 02:08:34 We'd love to hear from you on that too. So tomorrow is Matthew 28. Yes, sir. Bless you folks. We love you very much. Thank you for being here for Morning Manna. And we invite you to come back here again tomorrow at the same time, 8 a.m. here on the East Coast on faithandvalues.com. Come and join us for the Friday edition of Morning Manna.
Starting point is 02:08:58 God bless you.
