This is True News, the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. So help us God. Doc Burkhardt is away and will return on Monday.
Today's True News will be 30 minutes in length.
Yonhap News Agency reported today
that North Korea tested a new underwater nuclear weapon
designed for producing a radioactive tsunami
and launching a stealth attack on its enemies.
Moreover, the nation's Central Military Commission also instructed missile drills on Tuesday
and Wednesday, which included missiles loaded with a simulated nuclear warhead.
The drill was carried out to warn the USA and South Korea
of the possibility of a nuclear war with North Korea. The Communist Korean Central News Agency
said the underwater nuclear attack drone was tested in Hongwon Bay with its test warhead detonating Thursday afternoon after cruising for 59 hours
and 12 minutes at depths between 80 to 150 meters in the East Sea of Korea. The drone
is intended to stealthily navigate into enemy waters to cause a large-scale radioactive tsunami
capable of destroying naval strike groups and major ports. Well, it didn't take long for South
Korea's president to respond to North Korea's belligerent action today. On Friday, President Yoon Seok-il warned that his government would make North Korea
accountable for what he said, its reckless provocations. And he declared that South
Korea will reinforce its military capabilities in the face of the North's progressing nuclear dangers.
During his speech at the commemoration of the 8th West Sea Defense Day held in the National Military Cemetery, he said,
quote, North Korea has been significantly increasing its nuclear weapons and missile provocations. Our administration and military will steadfastly implement
the South Korean-style three-axis system
and solidify security alliances between South Korea, the U.S., and Japan
to respond to Pyongyang's changing nuclear threats.
He went on to say, I promise to make sure
North Korea pays for its unashamed provocations. The end of the quote. Now, the three-axis
defense system he mentioned involves Korea massive punishment and retaliation,
a game plan to disable the North Korean leadership in a large-scale conflict,
and kill-chain preemptive strikes, also the Korea air and missile defense system.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has warned that any attempt to enforce an arrest warrant
for President Vladimir Putin from the International Criminal Court would be a declaration of war.
Mr. Medvedev also claimed that Russia would respond to an arrest with, quote, all our assets, all our missiles. He also blamed Ukraine's allies for raising the risk of nuclear conflict
and suggested Ukraine is part of Russia. Mr. Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia's
powerful National Security Council said, as far as some serious offensive offenses, excuse me, let me say that again.
He said, as far as some serious offenses involving an attempt to retake Crimea are concerned,
it is absolutely clear that this will serve as the basis for the use of all means of protection, including those provided for by the basic doctrine of nuclear deterrence.
When the use of any types of weapons against Russia poses a me, the chairman, the deputy chairman of the powerful National Security Council went on to say, therefore, draw your own conclusions.
There are obvious grounds for using any weapons, absolutely any.
I hope our friends across the ocean realize this.
And this was a quote from Dmitry Medvedev concerning the International Criminal Court head of Russia's National Security Council, warned that any attempt to enforce the international criminal court arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin
would be considered, as I said, a declaration of war
and would prompt an immediate response from Russia with a missile attack on any country.
Now, this is what he said. Let's consider,
this is his direct quote that he posted on social media. Let's consider what would happen if the leader of a nuclear state were arrested while on the territory of, say, Germany, it would definitely be seen as a declaration of war against the Russian Federation.
In this situation, everything we have would be sent toward the Bundestag and other government offices. Mr. Medvedev's comments come after Berlin confirmed that the German government
would arrest Mr. Putin if he ever visited Germany. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg
has warned that they have observed signs of Russia requesting lethal military aid from China.
Mr. Stoltenberg said, quote,
We haven't seen proof that China is delivering lethal weapons to Russia,
but we've seen signs that this has been requested from Russia
and is being considered by the Chinese authorities, end of quote.
The NATO chief's comments came after the two-day meeting in Moscow between Chinese President
Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Mr. Stoltenberg said NATO has been very direct in its position on possible Chinese military assistance to Russia or Ukraine.
He said, quote, Our message has been clear.
China should not make such a provision that would lend support to an illegal war and simply prolong the conflict in Ukraine.
Speaking of the recent peace plan proposed by China,
Mr. Stoltenberg urged them to understand Ukraine's perspective
and engage President Zelensky to show their commitment to peace.
He also stressed the importance of nuclear safety, protection of civilians, and
respecting national sovereignty. Now here is a video excerpt from Mr. Stoltenberg's comments about
China, Russia, and Ukraine. What is your message to President Xi as he meets with a leader who is now accused of committing war crimes? Thank you.
So first, we haven't seen any proof that China is delivering lethal weapons to Russia.
But we have seen some signs that this has been a request from Russia and that this is an issue that is considered in Beijing by the Chinese
authorities.
And therefore, our message has been that China should not provide legal aid to Russia.
That will be to support an illegal war and only prolong the war and support the illegal invasion of
Ukraine by Russia. That's something that China of course not should do. Then of course the
meeting that takes place in Moscow is part of a pattern we have seen over the last years
where China and Russia are coming
closer and closer.
We have to remember that just a couple of weeks or a few weeks before the invasion last
February, President Xi and President Putin met in Beijing, where they signed a joint
declaration promising each other a partnership without any limits.
And we see how China and Russia are coming closer and closer
to the military domain, the joint exercises, joint patrols,
naval and air patrols in the economic domain
and also in the political and diplomatic domain.
So the meeting in Moscow is part of that pattern
where China and Russia are working more and more closely
and building this tolerance on their partnership.
Well, there was another U.S. naval confrontation with China's PLA Navy in the South China Sea on Friday.
Just one day after a similar incident, the guided missile destroyer, the USS Milius,
conducted a freedom of navigation operation in the South China Sea near the Paracel Islands
on Friday, challenging China's claims to the area. The U.S. Navy said the ship was asserting
navigational rights and freedoms consistent with international law and challenging Beijing's claims to straight baselines enclosing the parasails,
meaning waters outside of the internationally recognized 12 nautical mile limit from a coastline
for territorial waters. In response, China reacted angrily and accused the U.S. of seriously violating its sovereignty and security as well as international law.
The U.S. Navy maintains that its operations demonstrate that it will exercise its right to fly, sail, and operate wherever it is allowed by international law, regardless of the location or current events.
As the South China Sea holds vast resources such as fish, oil, and gas,
and is also a major trade route for a third of the global shipping estimated to be worth trillions of U.S. dollars, tensions between competing claimants
in this region have quickly become heated in recent years. Well, independent investigative
journalist Seymour Hersh has made more statements about his report that President Joe Biden
personally ordered the CIA and Pentagon to blow up Russia's Nord Stream pipelines last fall.
He recently gave an interview to China Daily, and we have two excerpts from that interview.
The first one, Mr. Hirsch was asked by China Daily reporter, what was your first reaction to the information that the explosion was carried out by the United States and its commandos?
This is what he said.
I'm a journalist.
I've been doing stuff like this for 50 years.
I was surprised at the stupidity of things my government does. You have to remember, I was the one who wrote
stories about the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam. I'm very used to the liabilities of my government.
They can always do very stupid things, probably just as often as they do very smart things. So
surprise, somebody had to have blown up the
pipeline, and it never made sense to me. But it never made sense to me that it was the Russians,
as everybody seemed to think in Washington. But I wasn't actually working on that. I've been doing
a long project on something else. And I just happened to ask somebody, some person I know
about it. And in a minute, I was just told, well, of course we did it. Of course, America,
who else would have done it? Who else would stop a pipeline full of gas that had been sanctioned
by our ally, the Germans? The German government had stopped it at our request because we were, America has a long
standing history in the Cold War, going back to the Kennedy, the John F. Kennedy administration
in the early 1960s, of being very disturbed by Russian, the Russian gas and oil sales to the Western Europe. Russia has enormous surplus and supply of gas.
It's almost inexhaustible.
And their gas is cheap and very clean.
And we've always been bothered by the fact that Russia,
as we consider during the Cold War, it's still the Cold War,
we've always considered it to be weaponized.
Russia was weaponizing gas.
And that's the theme of American foreign policy towards Russia, as opposed to all the other
issues about communism, not communism, who supports who and where in Vietnam or later
in the world.
So that was always a chronic issue.
So it wouldn't have surprised me one bit when I first heard it.
Well, next, Mr. Hirsch was asked by China Daily why the U.S. government wanted to sabotage
the pipeline. This is what he said. I think the people that were initially asked to do the job,
they were asked in 2021 before Christmas by the National Security Advisor for President Biden, Jake Sullivan.
So the idea was this is one of the options, blow up the pipeline.
And the president himself last February, February the 7th, 2022, publicly said if they go in, we will blow up the pipelines.
And a reporter said, do you know how?
And he said, we know how.
So there wasn't much of a secret what we wanted to do.
Of course, unfortunately, those people in the Western press or the American press corps seemed to have forgotten that phrase.
It was all over television.
But so anyway, the purpose of the people involved in the intelligence community doing this mission with the Norwegians, as I wrote, was to give the president an option to say to President Putin, if you go to war, we're going to destroy the pipelines.
And it's Russian gas that was in it.
It was filled.
So he then decided, the president, in late late September to trigger the mines.
The war wasn't going great in Ukraine.
The American war that President Biden was so eager to support wasn't not going well by late fall.
At best, a stalemate, two sides just staying there.
And so at that point, the only thing I can conject, can think and suppose, and those who were involved had the
same thought, the president was afraid that Chancellor Schultz not wanting to put more
guns and more arms, that's all. I don't know whether it was an anger or punishment,
but the net effect is that he's cut off a major power source through Western Europe.
So Europe's in a crisis now.
So down the road, this summer and fall, it's going to be very difficult for Biden.
He's going to get a lot of criticism for what he did.
That's for sure.
In the Middle East, multiple airstrikes were carried out by the United States military in Syria. Thursday night against Iran-aligned militia groups.
The Pentagon claimed that this was in response to a drone strike that killed one American
contractor, injured another, and left five U.S. soldiers with injuries.
According to the military, the United States intelligence agencies determined that the one-way attack drone
had Iranian origins. While U.S. forces in Syria have been attacked by drones before,
it is extremely rare for them to be killed. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Alston stated that the
retaliatory strikes were ordered by President Joe Biden.
They targeted facilities used daily by Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps groups. in response to today's attacks and a series of recent attacks on coalition forces in Syria
by groups associated with the IRGC.
Well, nearly 1,000 fires were ignited last night in the streets of Paris, France,
an increasingly violent protest movement has emerged to fight against French President Macron's unpopular scheme to raise France's retirement age from 62 to 64. to the streets in numerous cities across the country to vent their anger. Airports, train
stations, highways, ports, and schools were closed by protesters who blocked roads and streets.
The union-led protest that started in January has descended into political and social chaos
after President Macron ignored the French Parliament
and used his presidential executive powers to ram through the retirement age adjustment.
Today, police and cleanup crews sifted through broken glass and charred automobiles and garbage cans
after violent clashes last night between police officers
and protesters. Here is a selection of videos from last night's protest in France.... O que é que você quer? We will not surrender! We will not surrender!
Well, the extreme violence and anger in France last night prompted Great Britain's King Charles III
to postpone his planned visit to Paris.
The decision to delay the king's arrival in Paris was announced after the British monarch spoke
on the phone with French President Macron. The French president said the state visit would be
delayed until early summer 2023. Buckingham Palace said in a statement
that they are looking forward
to visiting France at a later date.
The decision is seen as an embarrassment
to Mr. Macron,
who had extended an official invitation
when he attended Queen Elizabeth II's funeral
last September.
Protesters yesterday held signs that said,
King Charles III, do you know the guillotine?
Meanwhile, in London, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
was met by hundreds of protesters when he arrived at 10 Downing Street
to meet with British Prime Minister Rishi Solnit.
The demonstrators were rallying against Mr. Netanyahu's government judicial reform program,
which would allow Israeli politicians to have more control over Israeli courts and is considered to be a danger to Israeli democracy.
Protesters shouted shame in Hebrew as Mr. Netanyahu and Mr. Sunak met,
while also holding up signs accusing him of dragging Israel toward becoming a dictatorship.
Mr. Netanyahu's office said the two leaders would focus on the threat of, as well as other topics, Iran and the war in Ukraine and developments in the Middle East.
Prime Minister Netanyahu's U.K. trip was put in jeopardy on Thursday night as Israeli pilots for El Al Airlines refused to fly him there in the wake of mass protests against his
plans for court reforms. A source revealed that the Israeli government had been struggling
to find a pilot who would take Mr. Netanyahu to London, ultimately postponing the journey until Friday morning.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova has condemned an alleged attack on the Church of the Assumption in Jerusalem's Old City by what she called Jewish radicals.
On Sunday, March 19, a 27-year-old suspect was arrested by Israeli police after attempting to
attack church worshipers with a steel pipe. The Russian foreign ministry noted an increasing
number of anti-Christian incidents recently and expressed hope that the Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Netanyahu,
will come out with an unequivocal statement on what happened
and take exhaustive measures to bring the perpetrators to justice
and prevent such incidents in the future.
The Greek Orthodox Church of Jerusalem also issued a statement on the incident,
which it called a heinous terrorist
attack at the hands of Israeli radicals. The church further claimed that terrorist attacks
by radical Israeli groups have become almost a daily occurrence that evidently increases
in intensity during Christian holidays. Last January, two Jewish teenagers were recorded damaging graves in the
historic Protestant cemetery on Mount Zion. The teenage vandals caused an estimated $100,000
in damages by shattering headstones and breaking crosses and desecrating the cemetery.
Currently, there is a bill in the Israeli Knesset that would criminalize
sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with any Israeli citizen. Punishment could include two
years in prison. Well, just when President Donald Trump was winning in his PR battle with Manhattan's
District Attorney Alvin Briggs, the former president gave his political enemies the upper
hand today. Mr. Trump posted a message on Truth Social, the social media platform that he owns,
that implied that death and destruction was coming to the USA if he is arrested. Mr. Trump also
shared an image from an online news website of himself holding a baseball bat on the left side of the image
and a photo of DA Alvin Bragg on the right side.
Mr. Trump's political enemies jumped on it and said that the former president was inciting his supporters to violence.
This is what Mr. Trump said in his social media post.
What kind of person can accuse another person? This is what Mr. Trump said in his social media post. with a crime when it is well known that no crime has been committed and that any death or destruction
resulting from such a false accusation could be devastating for our country. Mr. Trump said,
why and who would do such a thing? Only a degenerate psychopath who would hate the USA. What do people in other countries think of President Joe Biden?
Well, if this video from a popular Saudi Arabian TV show is representative of the world community's view of Mr. Biden,
it's not good for the USA's image.
Here is a video clip from MBC TV in Saudi Arabia.
God bless you and God bless America. Thank you. Well, that's it for today.
