officials about plans to bomb Iran's oil facilities. I'm Rick Wiles. This is True News for Thursday, October 3rd, 2024. Let's begin our analysis and commentary of today's news with this headline published in London by The Telegraph. As you see here on the screen, Israel considering attack on Iran's oil facilities, says Biden. And not a lot out yet. This is late breaking news. Telegraph reported Israel is considering an attack on Iran's oil facilities. Joe Biden has said asked by reporters if Washington would support such a strike. The U.S. president said we're discussing that. He also told reporters at the White House that he did not believe any Israeli strikes would come against Iran on Thursday.

So, Doc, we're OK for today. Mr. Biden said, first of Doc, we're okay for today. Mr. Biden said, first of all, we don't allow Israel. We advise Israel. And there is nothing going to happen today, in a quote said Mr. Joe Biden. Well, obviously, his remarks today had an immediate impact on the markets. Rigzone.com reporting oil prices soar on Biden's Iran remarks. And they are reporting that West Texas Intermediate surged as much as five and a half percent moments after the news broke that Mr. Biden had confirmed that the United States and Israel were jointly discussing an attack on the Iranian oil facilities.

And it remains above $77 even as we speak right now. And so they quote, this is Rig Zone. It says a major strike by Israel on Iran's export capacity would take 1.5 million barrels of daily supply off the market, according to Citigroup analyst Francisco Martosha. He said if Israel struck minor infrastructure, such as downstream assets, 300,000 to 450,000 barrels would be lost per day. But most likely, Doc, they're going to hit something much stronger. For Mr. Biden, he's got a problem. His Zionist allies want revenge. Yes. And Mr. Biden wants Kamala Harris to win the election.

If oil prices soar to $100, $200 a barrel. That proves it advantageous for, I would think, for the Trump team, right? Absolutely, because gasoline prices are going to double quickly in the month of October going into the election. And you've noticed over the past few weeks it's been floating below $3 a gallon. Of course, the election. But now this, suddenly that changes the game, doesn't it? And then if Iran responds by closing the Strait of Hormuz.

Then at that point, oil could be at $200, $300 a barrel, maybe more. Several years ago, there was speculation oil would go to $400 a barrel if the Strait of Hormuz was closed. So from Iran's thinking that if there is a strike on oil facilities in Iran, if we can't export oil, nobody else can. Nobody else is going to do it either. Where do we stand as far as nuclear facilities are concerned, Rick? According to Mr. Biden, he is telling Benjamin Netanyahu, don't bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. But I, you know, I'm not convinced that Israel is going to listen to Joe Biden. At least

Benjamin Netanyahu isn't going to listen to him. He's going to pull Biden into a quagmire, where Biden doesn't have any other choice but to go whole all the way in and be in a war with Israel against Iran. Right.

Netanyahu is going to just continue to incite and escalate the situation in the Middle East until the United States is pulled in. That's what he wants. He wants the United States is pulled in. That's what he wants. He wants the United States in the war. Biden keeps holding back. I give Biden credit on it. Biden's a Zionist, but he doesn't want to be in the war. Biden's holding back. And I believe he is legitimately wanting to stay out of a war.

But Netanyahu wants that war, but he doesn't want Israel fighting the war. He wants the United States to fight it. And with this difference between the oil fields and the nuclear facilities, the oil facilities are right out in the open. Everybody can see them. They're targets. They're easily accessible, Israel. The thing is, with the nuclear facilities, you have to knock out all of Iran's nuclear facilities, and can that be done in a single strike? That's the question, because there are hundreds of miles of tunnels in Iran. And they're deep underground.

That's right. And they've been fortified. So that's why it's likely that the oil facilities, I would think, will be the primary target. Doc, I think where this is going to go is just brace yourself, prepare over weeks, maybe months. It's going to be tit for tat. It's going to be back and forth.

And just keep getting a little bit higher, a little bit higher. Yes. Okay, so Israel hits Iran's oil. Iran then closes the Strait of Hormuz. Then the next attack may be the nuclear plants. Then Iran attacks Damona. And it's like they're inching their way towards an all-out war.

Instead of just doing it, they're inching their way there, both sides feeling their way through this situation before they pull the trigger on an all-out war. So this could go on for weeks, even months, but each stage becoming more dangerous, more destructive. But clearly, you know, the United States is being pulled into it. And that means U.S. troops are going to be committed to a battle. The thing that concerns me the most, and we're going to, in just a moment, you're going to know why. I'm going to show you a video in just a moment. My biggest concern, Doc, are all of the U.S. bases in the Middle East. Yes.

Kuwait, UAE, Jordan. We have a lot of American military bases in the Middle East. Which are perhaps easier targets for Iran to hit than even those targets in Israel. Yes. So Iran is not going to hit those targets unless Biden directly involves U.S. military assets in attacking Iran. And then at that point, Iran is going to attack U.S. military bases throughout the Middle East. So that, I see, is the worst scenario because we could lose thousands of American soldiers.

You know, if they did a direct hit on a carrier, you could have 5,000 Marines killed. So is this worth it, folks? Do you really want to do this for Israel? What is this? What is this love for Israel? What is it? It's not love. It is slavery. What is this slavery? Bondage. Israel has colonized the minds of Americans. They've set up a colony in the minds of americans these are mental psychological colonies and the american people are willing to give up their sons yes in blood for the sake of this colonizer in their minds when a right thinking person would say get, get out of here. We're not going to war for you. We don't owe you anything. We're not obligated to fight Israel's wars.

But our politicians absolutely are committed to it. The news media is committed to it. The churches are committed to it. They have colonies in the minds of the preachers. They have colonies in the minds of the members of Congress. They have colonies in the minds of the newscasters and the talk show hosts. They've established colonies. They're brilliant, Doc.

Yes, the U.S. and its Western allies are trying to limit Israel's response to Iran's ballistic missile attack in the hope of preventing a widening regional war spiraling out of control. Washington has made clear it supports Israel's right to respond military to Tuesday's missile attack and is holding frequent calls with Israeli officials as they plan their next move. Now, U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday spoke with the other leaders of the G7 to

coordinate sanctions on Tehran for the attack and advise Israel on its response. We'll be discussing with the Israelis what they're going to do. All seven of us agree that they have a right to respond, but they should respond in proportion, Biden told reporters after the call. And we have a clip of Biden responding to reporters on this issue. This is number four for control. But they've put all seven of us agree that they have a right to respond, that they should respond to the portion. Sir, can I? So the G7 of Western nations all agree Israel should attack Iran. But they are not in agreement in how Israel should attack Iran.

Right. They don't want Israel attacking nuclear facilities. But even attacking the oil fields in Iran could have blowback against the U.S. because Iran could attack U.S. oil fields, too. Of course. And, of course, the economy would be deeply affected. A month before the election, Joe Biden's going to be blamed for it. Kamala Harris is going to be blamed for it.

And, of course, President Trump will escape blame even though he's forebombing them. His answer would be, well, none of this would happen if I was in the White House. Right. But, yes, they need to be bombed yes the entire american political establishment has israeli colonies in their heads yes none of them are are capable of thinking independently now yesterday I was talking with Doc about what explains the Iranian thinking. These people, these are the Persians, okay? Regardless of what you think about the religious leaders of Iran, okay?

The country itself, this is Persia with a long, long history, thousands of years, okay? They're not stupid. Clearly, they're not a stupid people. They're intelligent people. They've been around at least 3,000 years, so they've been through a lot of wars, and they've survived them. They did this limited attack on Israel,

which on the surface you think, why would you do it that way knowing that Israel is going to hit you? What is your thinking? Are you afraid to go ahead and do the full attack? Or are you baiting Israel to come in deeper before you hit them harder? What's the thinking? Because clearly Israel is going to attack Iran. The pressure is now on Israel.

Well, hit them hard, but don't knock them out. Make them see stars, but don't destroy them. That's the political pressure right now. Netanyahu wants to destroy them. But he's under pressure from the G7. You can break their leg, but you can't kill them. Iran is going to hit back. But most likely, Iran is not going to hit back the next time as hard as it could. It's

going to escalate the attack. That's what I was saying a few minutes ago. The next couple of weeks or months, we're going to see these escalations between Iran and Israel. I saw this interview yesterday on Sky News in Europe. And Sky want you to listen to what he said and notice the smile on his face and just pay close attention to what this Iranian professor said to the Sky News reporter, who wasn't expecting this professor to talk back so strongly. Let's watch. Well, Professor Mohamed Morandi from the University of Tehran joins us now. Thank you very much for being with us, Professor. I just wonder, first of all, what has Iran achieved by this attack on Israel? Very few of the missiles got through.

It, in effect, failed. Many people are calling it a humiliation for Iran. I think that's a lot of wishful thinking on behalf of you and your colleagues at Sky News. It was a massive blow to the Israeli regime. And the history of this conflict doesn't go back to last year. It is 76 years of ethno-nosupremacism, ethnic cleansing, and this is a racist regime that you support. What the problem is is that you cannot recognize that the difference between you and us is

that you support racism and racial hierarchy and we reject it. And the Israeli regime, if they dare strike back at Iran, we will hit them much harder next time. We will beat them into submission. Well, they will strike back, won't they? No sovereign country can put up with having 180 ballistic missiles fired at them. So they will hit back, they will hit hard,

and they could well hit your nuclear facilities, your oil production installations. They could cause Iran serious damage. Listen, instead of the rhetoric, be real, because you're misleading your own people. Iran has countless underground missile sites with hundreds of thousands of missiles across the country. They were made after the U.S. invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan to deal with a potential war with the United States. So this puny regime, it is not a state. It is a colony. It is a racist, ethno-supremacist colony, which the people call themselves the chosen people. Unlike you, we do not believe in chosen people. And the Palestinian people on that land who've been displaced and pushed into Gaza and who've been slaughtered regularly over 76 years. We will not stand for that. All people in the whole of Palestine must be equal. The Israeli regime, if they strike Iran, we will hit them much harder next time. And they can pretend that they got away, but we hit them very hard last night. We've hit their bases. And unlike

the Israeli regime, which constantly carries out slaughter and genocide and is carrying out a holocaust in Gaza, we struck their military targets because unlike you, we actually care about human rights, not you. Professor, professor, let me just say that we're on the verge of an all-out war, or certainly a war between Israel and Iran. It could be a war that Iran loses. If Iran does lose that war, do you think that the current Iranian regime could survive a defeat? Because that is what, if what you say is right, and Iran is going to hit back even harder, that could be where this all ends up. Iran will not hit back harder. Iran will hit back much harder. The head of the Iranian

forces says Iran will destroy, target and destroy all of the Israeli regime's infrastructure. This was the tip of the iceberg. Iran will lose no war. The Israeli regime will. It is time for you and others to end your racism and to end your support for the superior race and to accept that all people in Palestine have equal rights and the Palestinian people have a right of return. Jews, Christians, and Muslims are equal. Unlike what you say, they are equal, and we will accept nothing less than that. The regime must go and all people must be treated

equally. And if the only thing, there's no doubt that Israel will lose, but the only variable here is the United States. If the United States gets involved, have no doubt, the U.S. will be swept out of Iraq by the Iraqi resistance, and all its assets in the Persian Gulf will be destroyed. All those regimes that the U.S. bases will be destroyed, and the oil and gas markets will cause a situation where the global economy will collapse and millions of people will be on the move. So be careful about making stupid mistakes and the West should stop with its arrogance and get real for once. Okay, Professor, thank you very much for being with us. Thank you. I'm surprised that even got out on Sky News.

That was about four minutes there. I'm surprised it got past the first 30 seconds. Particularly when he called Israel out as a racist regime that pretends to be a superior race. And he kept saying, it's you people, you Brits, you're the ones who support this racist regime. We don't believe that there is a superior race. We believe that all people are equal. But you, you support racism. And isn't that at the very heart of our defense strategy here, that we believe the Jews are our chosen people? Because that's what the colonizers placed in the minds of the American

people. They got in their heads and they placed that thought. You must sacrifice your sons on battlefields for us because we are the chosen people. We're the superior race. We're the superior race. Americans have no idea how racist the Israelis are. They are absolutely the most racist people on the planet. I hate racism. Racism is wrong.

There is not one race is superior or inferior to another race. And if you believe that there is a superior and inferior races, you are racist. And guess what? You're in the inferior race. Yes. So the Israelis believe that they are, quote, the chosen people, although they don't believe in the God that they said chose them. And they certainly don't obey him. But they like to claim that they're chosen. It's an acceptable way that they can tout the racist views.

It's a group of atheists claiming that God chose them. Wait, say that again. It's a group of atheists that claim that God chose them. That's so true. It is. That is so true. A group of atheists who claim that God chose them to be the superior race.

Anyhow, I made some quick notes as Professor Morandi spoke. Now, you pointed out to me during the interview that he is an American citizen. He is. Yeah, he was born in Richmond, Virginia. That's why he speaks English so well.

Yeah, and that's, you know, he went to high school in Richmond and everything. He ended up going to school in Britain and then Tehran. And so, but yeah, he was born in the U.S. And so now he's a professor at the University of Tehran. So he said, he said, the racist regime you support. He's talking to the Sky News interviewer calling Israel a racist regime. He said, you know, this racist regime you support, you support racism. He said, we will hit them much harder.

We will beat them into submission. Then he said, be real. Countless missile sites. Iran has countless missile sites. Hundreds of thousands of missiles. Yes. And these aren't bottle rockets. These are ballistic missiles.

Right. And I believe that Iran has intercontinental ballistic missiles. Have you seen the size of some of the missiles that have landed in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel? They're bigger than cars. Are they really? Yeah. I mean, they're huge. So he said, look, we have hundreds of thousands of missiles, and we've been preparing for this war.

He repeated again that Israel is a racist colony. He said we will not stand for the persecution of the Palestinians. Then the Sky News reporter said, you know, Iran could lose this war. And he said, we're not going to lose. Iran will hit back much harder. What you got, what Israel got the other night was the tip of the iceberg. And he said, you need to end, we will end your support for the superior race.

And then the warning to the USA. If the United States gets involved, he said the Iraqi resistance will sweep the US out of Iraq. Now the Iraqi resistance will sweep the U.S. out of Iraq. Now, the Iraqi resistance is a militia. It's not the official Iraqi army. It's like as Hezbollah was a militia that was bigger than the Lebanese army, the Iraqi resistance is bigger than the Iraqi army. It's so big they can't do anything about it. Okay.

But he said, if the United States gets involved, the Iraqi resistance will sweep the Americans out of Iraq. Well, I don't know. How many troops do we have in Iraq right now? I'll find out. Without the permission, without the invitation of the Iraqi people. You know, we invaded them years ago on false pretenses, the lie that George Bush told that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and Tony Blair lied about it and Colin Powell lied about it and Dick Cheney lied about it. And we went to war and we lost thousands of American men. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians were killed. We polluted the land with depleted

uranium and left the country in a mess and shambles. And it was all based on lies. Why? Because George Bush jumped when Israel said jump. It's as simple as that. George W. Bush jumped because the Israelis said, jump, go to war. So, the Iraqi resistance, Doc, my understanding of it, and I'm not an expert on it, but my understanding is it has probably about a quarter million men in it. That's a sizable army. So, I don't know how many troops we men in it. That's a sizable army. So I don't know how many troops we have in Iraq. The official report says we have 2,500 troops in Iraq, but that sounds a little low. Okay, 2,500.

Just the day before yesterday, by the way, the Iraqi prime minister said, we don't need U.S. troops in here anymore. Right, they want them to leave. Okay, so let's say we have 2,500 okay let's double it let's say there's 5,000 okay there's 250,000 iraqi resistance fighters how long are those five 2,500 to 5,000 u.s soldiers going to hold off a quarter million soldiers right and that's just in iraq that's what i mean ir Iraq. So he's saying if the U.S. gets involved in this fight, the Iraqi resistance will sweep the Americans out of Iraq.

It'll be a massacre. I mean, remember Benghazi? Yes. I mean, this will be Benghazi 100,000 times greater. And then he said all U.S. assets in the Middle East will be targeted and hit. That's oil companies, facilities, bases. U.S. bases in Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Jordan. Take a look at how many U.S. military bases are in the Middle East.

You'd be shocked if you looked at a map. What he's saying is, you know those hundreds of thousands of missiles we have underground? They're going to target those U.S. military bases. They're going to target U.S. ships in the sea. Again, I ask the American people, what is it about Israel that you're willing to give up your sons for Israel? What is it? What do we get out of this deal? Would somebody please tell me, what do we get out of it? Why do American men have to die for Israel? Because we're supposed to die for a group of racists who say they're a superior people? That's it?

We're supposed to send our sons to war to die for a bunch of racists? Apparently so. Yes. When are the American people going to tell the israelis what where they should go try it try it in america you can't even be heard the fact that my voice is still going out and it's in itself is a miracle because they shut down everybody. You speak against the great Oz, the great Zionist Oz. Behind the curtain, yes. Behind the curtain, the racist Oz.

Own it. Do it legitimately. Because you did not get Israel, the state, legitimately.

You stole it. You went there in the 30s and the 40s and you stole it. And you're still stealing. You're taking Gaza. You're taking the West Bank. Now you're going to take Lebanon. Yes. Oh, yeah, they're going to. They want Yes. Oh yeah, they're going to.

They want Lebanon. I mean, they're saying officially, oh no, IDF troops are not going to occupy Lebanon, right? No, they're land thieves. I don't have a problem. You want to go buy an island? Go have a Jewish racist society.

Do it legitimately. But stay away from everybody else and don't kill people. Just go have your little island and say we're the superior people. We're the chosen people. This is the land of the chosen people. You know what? Go live on an island and be happy.

Now, there's talk today that Israel bombed a Russian military air base in Syria. Right. This is a telegraph.

Israel strikes suspected near Russian air base in Syria, which they said transported weapons for Iran. And we've got a little bit of information, Doc. I'll let you do this. And then we've got some videos that we can show. Right. So the Telegraph is reporting that Israel is suspected of launching missiles overnight into Syria, striking close to a Russian air base believed to house weapons for Iran. Up to 30 missiles were said to have targeted an area

near the Khamenei Air Base near the coastal city of Latakia, triggering a series of huge explosions. Video footage showed streaks of bright orange light in the night sky as air defenses attempted to intercept the missiles. A huge blaze could be seen for miles close to the base. There also appeared to be secondary explosions, suggesting that weapons or munitions had been hit. Other reports in Syrian media suggested the strike targeted a warehouse inside the base following the arrival of an Iranian cargo plane suspected of delivering weapons. The strike, according to those reports, came an hour after an Iranian Qasem Fars Airlines plane had landed. The airline has long been linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps and has previously been accused of transferring weapons to terrorist proxies.

We have a little bit of video here where you can see this particular airbase. And this is Syria. Yes, in Syria. And those explosions are at a Russian air base, and it's the Israelis that are attacking the Russian air base. Right. So now we're seeing the widening escalation of this conflict now. Will Russia get involved in the Middle East conflict at this point? Oh, Doc, I'll tell you right now, I'll predict that within a week,

chapter of Matthew, and we're looking at verses 16 to 20. Let's pray. Wonderful, gracious Father in heaven, thank you for this wonderful day. Thank you for your blessings. Thank you for eternal life through faith in Christ. Thank you for sending us your Son, and Father, for sacrificing him on the cross because of our vile sins. Father, we cannot even comprehend your love for us. But we are aware that you do love us. Father, we have gathered here this morning because we are in need of spiritual nourishment. And we've come to your breakfast table to be fed by your Holy Spirit. And so now we submit ourselves to the Spirit to be instructed and taught by him in Jesus' name.

Amen. Amen. All right. If you've got your Bibles, please open them up to Matthew chapter 24 as we continue our journey through the gospel of Matthew, studying the Word. We're going to be looking at verses 16 through 20 today. So I'm reading from the King James this morning and picking up at verse number 16. And it reads, Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains. Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house. Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days. But pray ye that your flight be not in winter, neither on the Sabbath day. God bless the reading of his word today.

Amen. Amen. So, then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains. So, this passage, and we're talking about 16 through 20, refers to a time of extreme crisis that would require a specific response for survival literally survival so jesus is emphasizing to his disciples the urgency of the situation they would face. And he's telling them that this disaster will arrive swiftly and it will be severe and their lives will be at stake. So he instructs his disciples living in Judea because this does not pertain only to the people in Jerusalem, but Judea.

To take heed and flee when specific events occur before the commencement of the siege of Jerusalem. What was the sign that they were told to watch for? The abomination of desolation in the temple. The Jewish Christians who heard Jesus speak knew that he was referring to Daniel's prophecy. Yes. And they clearly knew what it meant. They knew when they had to flee. He gave them the sign, the abomination of desolation. And they also had a historical reference for this, too,

because a similar event occurred during the time of the Maccabean revolt in between the Old and New Testament. This is not, Jesus isn't saying this is a fulfillment of that. They said this, you know, it's going to be like that. It'd be like what happened back then. So they still had in their collective Jewish memory the desecration of the temple back during the Maccabean revolt but it's not going to be that it's going to be something bigger and uh deadlier uh that's coming up ahead but it was their sign yes it was like things are going to get worse and worse and worse and worse and you're going to feel the danger you're going to know that things aren't right and you're gonna be wondering is it time to flee but I'm telling you when you see this one thing

you got to get out of town you right away so that's what he gave them the the trigger when you see this run uh verse one uh starts with i'm talking about verse one of of chapter 24. verse one starts with then which is linked to verse 15. when ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken by Daniel the Prophet stand in the holy place whoso readeth let him understand and then verse 16 another then then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains. All three thens are connected. He advised them, everybody in Judea, all of his disciples in Judea should flee to the mountains for safety.

He's speaking of an urgency to seek a place of safety amidst impending disaster calamity turmoil mass death most likely the the mountains were the uh the gilead range of hills east of the Jordan River. And if you've ever been to the Holy Land, you know the hills that we're talking about. And another thing that Doc and I noticed is that the mountains in Palestine contain caves. Lots of caves. Oh, my goodness. There are caves everywhere. I come from Missouri, and we're known as the cave state. But nothing like there. I mean, every 15 feet, it's like there's a cave.

And different sizes, too. You have the little caves. Then you have the three- and four-bedroom caves. That's right. And they're everywhere. But those Christians knew, hey, if we get up on those hills, there are caves. Yes. We'll have a place to live.

Now, historically, we know that many Christians fled to Pella in Jordan. We've talked about this previously. And there are historical records that mention Christians fleeing to Mount Lebanon for safety. Christians had their choice of mountains. All they knew is Jesus said, go to the mountains. And flee. And flee. Flee and get into a mountain so by fleeing the christians in judea and these were jewish christians the jewish christians miraculously escaped the destruction that befell their country and not one christian perished

verse 17 let him who is on the houset of the situation advising people to act swiftly without hesitation and it includes specific instructions and i'm talking about this whole group of verses that we're looking at, 16 to 20. It has specific instructions for different circumstances. Right. Some on roofs, some in the fields, some who are pregnant, weather conditions, the Sabbath. Jesus covered different situations. Let's talk about verse 17 let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in the house the houses in Jerusalem and Judea typically had flat roofs.

And they had stairs on the inside and on the outside. So you had two ways that you could go to the rooftop. From the interior, you could take steps or a you could go to the rooftop from the interior you could take steps or a ladder going up to the roof and you had steps or a ladder on the outside to ascend and descend to and from the roof so the other thing is that in these ancient walled cities the houses were connected with their flat roofs right so the flat roofed houses formed a continuous terrace a road from one end of the city to the other. They called it the road of roofs. And so the connected roofs allowed for easy movement.

You literally could run across the rooftops from one end of the city to the other. Now, modern Westerners, we don't utilize our rooftops like Easterners in ancient times. People used the rooftops for various activities, including recreation, prayer, devotion, solitude, gardening. They, you know, you could grow some plants on the rooftop uh you know i know in in south america rooftops are used uh often for for laundry your your washing machine is on the roof i you know i i experienced that for the first time when my daughter lived in Ecuador. And she asked me to help her carry the laundry to the roof.

I go, you want me to take your laundry up to the rooftop? Yeah, that's where my washing machine's at. Why did you put it up on the roof? I didn't. That's where it was when I got here. Everybody does their laundry on the roof. We don't think that way. So at that time, people were using the rooftops for, like I said, they'd go up onto the roof to pray, for solitude, just to be alone, to read the Torah, to do some gardening.

They'd have some pots up there and growing some herbs and so forth. Sometimes you're just socializing. You get company. Hey, let's go up on the roof. Have more room up there. Now, as I said, there were two ways of entering and exiting jewish houses one was called the way of the doors and then the other was the way of the roof so the the ladder the way of the roof uh was through a ladder fixed at the entrance of the upper room.

So you've got two possible interpretations of Jesus' words to not come down to take anything out of his house. Individuals should move directly from the rooftop to the street, come down, come down the ladder don't go down into the house all right take the take the exterior ladder and get down on the street don't go in the house or you should run across the roof until you can get to the end of the city they could they could escape by traversing the flat rooftops from one house to another so you had this road of the roofs, and it was a means of escape by traversing from one rooftop to another. But the essence of what Jesus said was, when you hear the news of the abomination of desolation in the temple, you don't have time to go back in your house if you're up on the roof either you come down that ladder and run or you run across the roofs right so but jesus also said you don't have to

stay either right um and and the proper uh and we have word, the English word is anything, combine anything. But it's really, don't go in the house to take things. There's nothing in that house you need. Right. Nothing. Just get out of town. And what he's saying is going back into your house to retrieve a thing could result in the loss of your life or the loss of the lives of your family. Right.

Or you missed the window of opportunity to escape the impending destruction of the city. Right. So, Rick, are you telling me that Jesus told them to have an emergency preparedness plan? Yes, he did. Yes, he did. And he said, when you get the sign, go. And know where you're going. You're going to the mountains.

Hey, the smart Jewish Christians probably took a trip up in the mountains and staked out a cave. Yeah. Maybe they took some supplies up there. Who knows? That's what I mean, Doc. Maybe they took some clothing and food and said you know this is where i'm going to hide the smart ones the smart ones said uh i'm getting ready i'm going to have

a bug out place i i he said you're not even have time to to go okay well i'll just put my clothing up there in the cave and that's where i'll run to i'm once i get to my cave i'm not running any farther i've got my cave i got my stuff are we thinking like that now no nope because americans don't think anything will happen. You know, as tragic as everything is that's going on with Hurricane Helene, I think what surprises me are all the videos of people still in their house as the house is flooding. Taking videos of it? Yes, as the water is coming in the house. They're videoing for YouTube to and you're going to drown

doc I don't I don't comprehend it I don't either I don't get it now I know there are exceptions some people get caught unexpectedly but everybody knew a hurricane was coming I'm not making a video. I'm going to tell you right now, my house floods. I'm not making a video for you guys. You know, I'm leaving. I got to get out. Y'all can just imagine what it looks like.

I'm not doing live streaming on Facebook. Okay. Verse 18. what it looks like I'm not doing live streaming on Facebook okay verse 18 let him who is in the field not return back to get his clothes so the mention of fleeing from the fields implies that there are going to be people caught unprepared while working, and they may not have their garments with them. So the reference to his clothes, his garments, specifically means a man's cloak, the outer garments. So it was typical in those days as it is today men are men they're working in the field they strip down to the bare necessities they're working in the hot sun they're sweating yeah you're not bringing your suit jacket out to the field with you that's right so you know they they leave their their garments someplace else.

Now, maybe when they wear the garments out to the field, and they strip down and they put the garments on the edge of the field. The inference here is Jesus saying, I know you guys are going to be stripped down to your bare clothing while you're out there working in the field. But I'm telling you, you don't have time to go get your clothes when this happens. You're going to be running in your skivvies. You've got to get out of there so they're going to be plowing sowing hoeing whatever it is they're going to be working in the hot Sun if it's if it is the summertime okay

but even even in other seasons except the cold winter they're going to be taking off their outer garments. Just because of the ease of moving. You're doing hard physical labor. And so the point he's saying here is, you don't have time to go get clothing. Now, he didn't say, look, while you're running, if you run past a pile of your clothing, grab it. Just grab it. He didn't say, hey, you don't have time to stop and get it. He's saying, if you're at that end of the field and your clothing is back at the other end of the field, you don't have time to go back. That extra 15 minutes may cost your life but if you're running this direction and you go past your clothing grab it but if your clothing is there leave it it we can't overemphasize the the the urgency of the escape you

don't have time to get anything doc I think about a lot and if, if you could read Genesis 19, 12 through 26. This speaks so much to us about why Jesus said to them, you don't have time to go get anything. Listen to this, Genesis 19, 12 through 26. All right, here we go. Genesis 19, starting in verse 12. And the men said unto Lot, Haste thou here any besides, son-in-law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place.

For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is wax and great before the face of the Lord, and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it. And Lot went out and spake unto his sons-in-laws, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place, for the Lord will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons-in-law. And when the morning rose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife,

thy two daughters, which are here, lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city. And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters, the Lord being merciful unto him.

And they brought him forth, and set him without the city. And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life. Look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain. Escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. And Lot said unto them, O not so, my Lord. Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight and thou hast

magnified thy mercy which thou has showed unto me in saving my life and i cannot escape to the mountain lest some evil take me and i die behold now this city is near to flee unto and is the little one oh let me escape, and my soul shall live. Hey, go on and read verses 21 through 26. Okay. And he said unto him, see, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city for the which thou hast spoken. Haste thee, escape escape there for I cannot do anything to loud become there therefore the name of the city was called door

sun was risen upon the earth when lot entered into the war then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven any over through those cities and all the plain and all the inhabitants of the plain and that which grew upon the ground. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. I don't guess I ever really noticed before how much Lot resisted. Yes, that's what I wanted you to see. First of all, he's living in Sodom.

Right. Sat in the city gates. Yeah, he's a leader in the city. Now, we're told that he was troubled by Sodom, and yet he lived there. Right. Kind of like us in America. We're troubled by America's sinfulness, but we live here. We tolerate it. So he has two angels show up, and they said to Lot,

do you have anybody else here? Sons-in-laws, your sons, your daughters, whoever you have in the city, bring them out of the place, for we have been sent here by Almighty God to destroy this city. So Lot goes out and tells his sons-in-laws, married to his daughters, get up, get out of this place. Almighty God's going to destroy the city. And the sons-in-laws laughed at him. And his sons. And his sons. Oh, Dad, you're into your conspiracy theories again, aren't you?

You've been in the Bible again, haven't you? Yeah. A lot of people don't know that Lot had sons. Not just sons-in-law, but sons. So when the morning came and the sun came up, the angels hurried Lot. Lot, move it, move it. Let's go. Let's go.

The sun's up. Let's go. It says, then the angels hurried Lot, saying, get up. The sun's up, Lot. Get up. Get your family. We're leaving. Take your wife and your daughters who are here.

Notice he left out the sons-in-laws. And the sons. Why? They laughed at Lot. Their laughter, their mocking of their father or father-in-law speaking about God's judgment on the city disqualified them from being saved. Right. Be careful what you laugh at. Yes.

Be careful. The angel said, take your wife and your two daughters, lest you be consumed in the iniquity of this city. Verse 16, but Lot lingered. Oh, he's got two angels. He's got two angels at his house. And the angels had to drag him out of town. Lot lingered. You know what i always picture doc lot lot went into his garage and he's looking at well do i want to take this tool i i really like these tools over here um what am i going to take he lingered i'm gonna go get some coffee um i'm gonna i've got some fresh strawberries

i'm gonna eat them but i always eat my strawberries with a muffin in the morning you know he lingered the angels grabbed his hand they grabbed his wife's hand they grabbed the hands of the two daughters think of these you got two angels they got four hands they're holding on to Lots hand mrs. Lots hand and the and the daughter's hands and said Yahweh be merciful Almighty God be merciful to lot the led him out, led him out of the city with his family. Then once they got out of the city, the angel said, escape for your life. Don't look behind you. Don't stay anywhere in the plain.

Escape to the mountains. And Lot said in verse 18, oh, no, Lord, no, no, no, no, no. Not the mountains. Not the mountains and lot said in verse 18 oh no lord no no no no no not the mountains not the mountains i i i can't i'm not a camping type of guy there could be a there could be a mountain line up there yes that's really what he's saying yeah there's a there's a nice little city over here. You know, it's just a few miles away. It's a nice little town. They got some breakfast there. They got a restaurant. They got a bed and breakfast.

Let me escape there. And the angel said, behold, I have granted your request concerning this thing. Like, okay, okay, okay, Lot. Whatever. You want to go there? Go. We won't destroy that city. What does that say about humans?

Look, each of us have to answer this question for ourselves. If two angels showed up at your house today and said, God sent us here to burn down this country. You've got to get out of here now. Would you obey? Would you obey? Would you obey? If you told your family, they all come home after work, and you get your family together, and you say, hey, I got to tell you something. There were two angels here today, and they said, God's going to burn down this place, this whole country, and we should leave and their their family's

laughing at you right like what are you just talking about you you talk to angels huh dad are you okay maybe you should go see a doctor and i think did he have a stroke today what's wrong with him and what gets me is lot didn't immediately flee no they stayed the night spent the night let's sleep on it the light will be better in the morning and the angels got him up at first. Get up. Get up, Lot. Come on. We got to go. We got work to do.

We're here to burn the city down. Okay, so verse 19. But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days. This verse expresses a lament, a sorrow, sorrowful expression from Jesus. And it's directed towards a particular group of people, mothers. Mothers who will face great difficulty during the upcoming crisis. Because Jesus knew.

That pregnant women and nursing mothers. Would be a vulnerable group. Who would not be able to flee quickly. And he said, whoa, unto them. Whoa, not as condemnation, but as pity. Saying, oh, pity those. those pity the women who are pregnant pity the women who are nursing infants he says woe unto them alas for them it's it's his deep concern for what they're going to face he he knew they're going to be pregnant women there are going to be

young women with infants on their breasts he knew it you can't have a population of thousands of people and not have some pregnant women right so he's talking about the hardships of fleeing that would be particularly dangerous and difficult and challenging for pregnant women and young mothers because of the physical limitations on their mobility. Would nursing mothers, would mothers with, think about a young mother who has five or six children, between the road fleeing while she's carrying a one-month-old? Right. What about a young mother who has triplets? How's she going to flee with three infants? Think about Gaza.

You just think about Gaza right now and the pregnant women and the young mothers, nursing children. How would you like to be pregnant in the hospital when Israel bombed the hospital? How would you like to have your infant in the maternity ward when Israel bombed the maternity ward? How would you like to be a young mother with four, five, six children, and the Jews say, you've got to escape from the north, and on foot you travel to the south. You get to the south, they bomb the south, and say, hey,, you travel to the south, you get to the south, they bomb the south, they say, hey, you got to go to the east, they go to the, this is what the, this is what the mothers are facing in Gaza, right, I remember the one video, the one Palestinian mother, who just collapsed

on the street, and said, I can't go anymore, I'm done, I'm done, I can't go anymore I'm done I'm done I can't do this anymore I feel sorry for him but if you want to know what what Jesus was thinking about when he told them whoa whoa unto the mothers you just look at Gaza and how people I cannot comprehend how people are so cold today how they can look at these videos of of the suffering in gaza and say who cares that's war that's war that's the way it is they're they're living on the jews land they need to get out of there it's their fault verse 20 pray that your flight will not be in the winter nor on the Sabbath so the importance of this verse is Jesus is telling us to pray for favorable conditions in times of crisis so that our escape would not be hindered

let's talk first about winter pray that you your flight will not be in the winter yes they have winter in in the Holy Land it gets gets cold. It snows. There's a rainy season in the winter. You have flash floods. The desert gets very, very cold at night. But you do have snowfall in Israel, Palestine. So travel during the winter would be particularly difficult in harsh weather conditions.

And it would make a hasty escape challenging, potentially dangerous. What he's saying here is you better hope. You better hope you don't flee in the winter because you didn't have time to pack your clothing, right? I told you not to go back into the house for anything. I told you in the farm, in the farm fields, don't go get your clothes. If it's in the winter, you're fleeing with no winter clothing. See, all these verses are connected. You're not going to have clothing for your children.

You're not going to have blankets. Again, think of the children in Gaza who slept this winter, this past winter. They slept outside because all the buildings were demolished. And they had to sleep while the Jews were bombing the other buildings. That's what it's like. He's saying, you don't want to be in Jerusalem when the Romans start bombing this city. So what about the Sabbath? Did Jesus imply that his disciples could not travel on the Sabbath because it would be sinful?

No. No. Here's what I know. He had taught his disciples in the cornfield that the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Right. He and his disciples picked corn and ate it on the Sabbath because they had no food and they were hungry. Jesus isn't telling them here, hey, man, I hate to tell you, but got to obey the sabbath rules right and i've i've seen

bible commentators right that that's what this was about jesus was telling telling his disciples now hey you gotta you gotta obey the sabbath yeah you better you better pray that that this doesn't happen on the sabbath because you're gonna locked down. You've got to do the Sabbath thing. No, that's not what he's teaching. Not at all. I believe what he was teaching was that the Jewish rabbis, they had such tight restrictions on how many feet you could walk on the Sabbath. Right. And this included during war and troubled times yes

so the the jewish rabbis had determined what was sinful and not simple in terms of movement on the sabbath despite the fact that the bible does not say how how far a journey you can take on the Sabbath. That's right. But the rabbis did. Yes. So what you have here is you'd have Christians who are Jewish Christians would be attacked by radically observant Jews who would come out of their houses. I saw you through the window.

What are you doing? Where are you going? It's the Sabbath. You can't travel on the Sabbath. So you're going to have a confrontation in the streets. Yes. You're going to have Jewish rabbis and radicals and the zealots attacking the Christians who would flee on the Sabbath. There's another thing. The city gates were

locked on the Sabbath. If you're in the city, you can't get out. If it's a walled city, you can't get out. The gates are locked. You locked you know doc I've had over the years like here in Florida you know doc if you live here in Florida the the rivers have draw bridges right and I've had people I've talked to people about what's your plan to escape if we had to absolutely get out of here? And, you know, because a lot of people here have boats. Well, I've got a sailboat. I'd just get on the sailboat and go down the intercoastal, you know, or one of the smaller rivers.

I'd get out. I go, well, what if the drawbridges aren't open? Well, they're open. They're always open for sailboats coming through. Well, what if the government said you can't open them? what if there's an emp attack and there's no electricity and the bridges don't open and you get this stare well i don't know well how are you going to get your sailboat through to barriers practical barriers that block people from fleeing. Jesus is saying, think this through. Think it through.

What are the real barriers that could stop you from fleeing? He knew that there would be barriers that would prevent his disciples. And then he said, you would be wise to pray. Pray that your flight will not be in the winter nor on the Sabbath. So what he's doing here is he's praying. He's giving strategic advice. He's saying, pray that your heavenly father minimizes the barriers, the hardships, the conflicts that you're going to face. Because there's never a perfect time to flee.

That's only in movies. So he's encouraging people to pray not to stop the disaster but to mitigate the circumstances that would prevent them from from leaving see we have people today who'll say well rick you you need to be leading people to pray that there are no disasters in this country well i'm, that's not what the Lord says. He said, pray for favor that you can get out of harm's way. When God is judging a land, you know, the rain falls

on the just and the unjust. And that's really what you get out of this whole passage here. Listen, troubling times are coming tribulation is coming and when that tribulation comes it's going to hit everybody the whole idea in dispensationalism

is that the rapture takes the church out and so we don't have to suffer the great tribulation but if anything this passage teaches hey you believers when you see these things happen understand you have to get out but even in getting out there's going to be trouble and getting out if you're pregnant it's going to be rough if you're out plowing in a field you might have to go without your your top coat you know you've got to think these as you pray prepare and as you pray the Holy Spirit will give you wisdom about the things

you need to do and things you need to anticipate right i'm going to give you three uh three examples before we wrap it up here uh number one the attempted assassination of president trump in butler pennsylvania strangest thing i've ever saw i mean in a horrible event where somebody tried to kill the former president, but a man was killed behind President Trump. Two other people were shot. Nobody fled. Mr. Trump and a lot of the news, you know,

the conservative radio talk show hosts and stuff, they complimented the crowd for, hey, there was no panic. Nobody fled. Everybody stayed. Everything was calm. Are you serious? They're shooting the president of the United States. They're shooting people in the bleachers behind him and you're going to stay? I can't get out of my mind the image of that woman directly behind President Trump. And her facial expressions, there's no emotion. She sees the president grab his ear. She sees him fall to the floor.

She sees the Secret Service agents jump over top of him she's directly sitting in you know behind all this and she calmly gets her phone up and starts recording it like where are you woman there's a there's a man out in the crowd and he stands up stands up like a big polar bear and he's looking around it's like people have their children there and nobody's getting their kids out of the way how do you know this isn't a mass shooting i'm just stunned by how many people were just i don't know it's like they're out to lunch. You've got a presidential assassination taking place and you're recording it with your phone.

Yes. The second thing is the exploding pagers in Lebanon last week, two weeks ago. In the videos I saw, these pagers are exploding, human flesh is flying, blood, guts, all kinds of stuff, and people are walking around looking at it. There was one in particular inside a market, and the guy that got blown up, he was standing there by a display of vegetables and fruit. And his pager goes off and he's on the floor screaming. He's covered in blood. People just walking by. People walking by looking down at him like, that's weird. What are you doing?

I was like, I don't know what's going on with people. They've lost their sense of reality everything's a movie the last one i want to say is uh okay so i was in myrtle beach last week you know the hurricane suddenly appears i was watching it very closely because on sunday our first day there the weather forecasters were saying it's still too uncertain to know the path of this hurricane it coke it could go directly north through the panhandle of Florida into Georgia or it could make a turn to the right and go up the east coast well i was at myrtle beach and so susan's like do we need to get out of do we need to go home we just got here i said we can't drive

back we we may be driving into the hurricane but what are we going to do? I said, I'm going to watch this. I'm going to watch it hour by hour. The moment I get any inclination that this thing is moving towards the East Coast, we're leaving. And she goes, so we're going back to Florida? I go, no, you can't drive back to Florida. Where are we going to go? We're going to go the opposite direction of the hurricane we're going to just have to drive you know up the coast north whatever we have to do we got to get out of the way that's the situation where you're constantly watching a potentially dangerous situation that could get out of control quickly right how many people were on the highways and drove into the hurricane yes how many people watched it or did how many people didn't even watch it didn't pay attention to it at all had no idea that a hurricane was coming

see the age that we live in with communications there's no excuse for being in the dark. When I lived in Texas, tornadoes were a real threat. I had a NOAA weather radio that I kept in my bedroom. It was always on, but no noise. The only noise you ever got was an alert from NOAA. There's a tornado moving towards your county. You had to have a radio because a tornado could appear suddenly

during the middle of the night while you were sleeping. You had to have a plan. Where are you going? Well, and we had a, my granddad used to say, though, Rick, the tornado will sneak up on you, but the storm never does. That's right. So even in Texas, I'm sure you understand what I'm saying here, you can discern the storm. You know, we might have some trouble, and then you're on alert.

You're keeping, you've got the radio on, you're listening, just in case there's a warning of some some kind. You can for sure discern the storm and make decisions regarding the storm, but it never sneaks up on you. It never says no. I've told you all this many times. I grew up in Western Maryland and my granddad, my grandparents had a lot of influence on me but granddad had a third grade education you know his nickname was farmer you know he wore straw straw hat uh you know plaid shirt dungarees boots that was just that was his best suit doc Doc. That was his go-to-town suit, you know. But he knew the weather and he

taught me a lot about observing the skies and the weather conditions. And I guess that's, I guess God used him when I was a boy to prepare me to be a watchman because I remember my granddad teaching

me to look at the sky, look at the clouds, look at the wind, you know, take notice of the wind and to discern what the weather was going to be. He just had that old time wisdom about weather conditions but he taught me don't you don't have to be caught off guard right and he was a prepper you know his his basement was full of food he farmed he he canned, he butchered. And you know why, Rick? Because winter came every year. Yes, it did. But he had lived through,

actually, a bank crisis in the 1890s when he was born. He lived through World War I, Spanish flu, the Great Depression, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War. He'd seen a lot. He wasn't a prepper. He was wise. He just knew, hey, there are going to be times there's not going to be any food. You know, he had had a coal furnace there was always a mountain of coal he wasn't going to go he wasn't going to have a bucket of coal he's going to have a mountain of coal okay but he had a third grade education and he never had a loan never had a mortgage never had a debt how'd he do that i think people were a lot smarter back then

you know they hadn't been dumbed down by our society okay hey i gotta wrap it up i wanna save a little bit of time for uh today so thank you, everybody. We'll pick this up tomorrow.
