you would be disappointed when you read Mr. Trump's social media posting on Truth Social.
Meanwhile, Bibi Netanyahu's corruption trial has started in Israel,
but that isn't slowing down the Zionist rampaging in chief from relentlessly bombing Syria,
even its chemical weapons facilities.
And in the great white north, Canadians are scratching their head in bewilderment as Mr.
Trump has made the third mention of annexing Canada.
What's that all about?
I'm Rick Wiles.
This is True News for Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Doc burkhart is not here with me but he is there at
his home wasn't feeling well today and being a good team member decided not to bring into the
office whatever is bothering him you don't look sick doc i hope you're feeling better i'm just a
scratchy throat sneezing and coughing but I got it under control now.
I can handle an hour for sure.
Okay, I'll get you out in one hour.
So the medicine works for one hour.
All right, that's good to know.
So let's begin our analysis and commentary by reviewing what has happened in Syria over the past 72 hours
and how that has impacted the development of World War III.
And World War III is on.
So this is I-24 News.
Israel, look at this headline.
Israel and U.S. troops enter military bases north of Damascus.
Doc.
Yes.
I understood that Israelrael was had invaded syria but this israeli tv report says american troops are with the israelis
yes north of the capital city of damascus well we already had u.s troops in syria already that
that's a fact i mean we've had them thereS. troops in Syria already. That's a fact.
And we've had them there since the Trump administration, the first Trump administration.
But they're on the move.
They're on the move.
In this takeover of Syria, Al Jazeera, Israel grabs land in Syria's Golan Heights, warns villagers to stay home.
So yesterday, Netanyahu wasted no time stealing more land there's a buffer zone around golan heights separating the golan heights is syrian territory
and has been has been and donald trump gave it to israel he had no right, no authority, no power to do it,
but he gave it to Israel.
And so yesterday, actually, I would say probably Sunday,
Israeli troops moved like lightning
and went beyond the Golan Heights and grabbed more land.
And they said they were doing it to make sure
the bad guys didn't come into Israel.
So we're going to invade another country, take their land, and then sell it to the public
as a gesture to prevent terrorists from coming into Israel. They got the land.
And the irony is not lost in that they accused Russia of doing the very same thing that Israel just did over the past 72 hours.
Yes, Russia's bad. Israel's good.
Russia went into the Donbass and said, look, we're taking this land.
These are Russian people. They're uh slaughtered and we're not going
to allow it to happen that started the war but israel is allowed to go into syria yes
because they can they can do anything that they want to do that's right uh now i want to show you
where we're at well financial times is Times, Israel draws furious reaction from Egypt.
To my knowledge, Egypt is the only country that has condemned Israel for stealing land in the Golan Heights.
The Egyptians know what the Israelis are up to.
And you know what?
Every country that's contiguous to Israel knows knows they're next that's right there's
nothing nothing stopping them no outcry netanyahu knows he can steal land anywhere and nobody will
say anything about it jerusalem post israeli air force strikes over 300 targets in syria in a massive operation after assad's fall
they literally destroyed the syrian military today the entire military infrastructure
the army the navy the air force they destroyed all of it the entire syrian military no longer exists it was wiped out
today world war three this is world war three folks that's right well jerusalem uh post is
reporting that the israeli air force carried out about 300 strikes in syria in the early morning
hours tuesday that's according to Israeli security sources.
Most of the strikes were in southern Syria and around the city of Damascus,
targeting Syrian army bases with an emphasis on air defense systems
and stores of surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles.
Also, Israeli security sources indicate that these actions have significantly
expanded the Air Force's operational freedom.
In other words, they own the skies, and now they'll own the land soon enough.
And, Doc, it hasn't been that long ago that we were reporting here that the Russians were controlling the airspace over Syria, and they were not allowing Israel just to have freedom to roam the skies of Syria.
It's all changed.
Yes.
Next one, this is Bloomberg.
Basically, same report.
Unprecedented Israeli strikes on weapons sites shake Syria.
And then I want you to see this tweet that I saw. It was actually published yesterday.
And Duran Kadash said,
I don't know how much it has grabbed headlines until now in our endless wave of news.
But for whom who still hasn't noticed, Israel is managing in two days, recent aerial strike operations unprecedented in recent decades to destroy the army of Syria. of syria in more than at that time 250 strikes the air force has destroyed assad's army tanks
planes helicopters ships air defense systems missiles military factories intelligence
facilities everything that the syrian state army has held and built for decades is being destroyed
right now israel made a strategic decision to destroy all the advanced and strategic military
capabilities that remained in syria after the fall of the regime and if this operation is
successfully completed the new rebel regime will have to start from scratch with m16s and
koloshinovs to build their military capabilities as a new state. Astounding.
Astounding. In two days, Israel wiped out the entire military of Syria.
A lot of Christian Zionists are cheering.
They're cheering this and saying, look, this is Bible
prophecy. Israel's on the move.
You can't stop God's chosen people. You can't stop you can't stop god's chosen people well you also you
can't stop the antichrist that's right and i've seen all the prophecies about the destruction of
damascus you know that that gets revived every couple years and that's that's the hot topic
right now among a lot of evangelical christ saying, look, this is fulfilling Bible prophecy.
So they won't be happy until the entire city of Damascus is destroyed?
That's the idea.
And, you know, no one ever thinks about the Christians that are in Syria.
There are so many Christians that are in Syria.
Now you have a Muslim overlord that is now in charge of Syria.
This is not good for Christians in Syria, but it doesn't matter to evangelicals here because it fulfills their Darby dispensationalism.
I don't know who's running.
Oh, Lee.
Lee's running.
We have some people out today lee i'm
going to throw you uh a change in the plan uh doc mentioned the christians in in syria i want to go
down to number 42 i saw this video uh this is just an inside glimpse of a Syrian church.
So think about this.
As you read all this news and watch these reports about Syria being bombed,
understand that there are millions of Christians in Syria,
that the church goes back to the apostolic days.
It goes back to the days of paul and the apostles these are descendants
of the first christians yes and you've got these bloodthirsty christian zionists in america
cheering for their destruction you know what what goes around comes around baby
you better be careful these christian zionists better be careful
they they want bloodshed they want israel to kill kill kill do you not understand that you're
planting seeds that will grow and you will reap a harvest leaded we find it here this is the church
in syria Lee, did we find it here? This is the church in Syria. If you listen to the news media, if you listen to the Zionist propaganda,
if you listen to the Christian Zionist propaganda. If you listen to the Christian Zionist propaganda,
Syria is a country of Jew-hating terrorists and they have to be destroyed.
Did that look like Jew-hating terrorists?
That looked like Jesus-loving Christians.
Just like there were Jesus-loving Christians in Gaza
that died because Netanyahu went on a
blood-soaked
rampage for revenge.
I want to go down
to...
Day 6 is here, and backed by

So in the middle of all this crazy stuff, Netanyahu is in a courtroom today.
He's on trial for corruption.
Doc, this is so bizarre. It's so surreal.
The man is on a rampage. He's bombing bombing nations he's killing people by the tens of thousands
he's taking over other countries and yet he's on trial for being corrupt in his own country yes
you know what he wants to say i don't have time for this i'm taking over the middle east i'm building greater israel you
people are wasting my time trying to put me in prison but his own people are trying to lock him
up and doc i this may be the way this may be way the way the the ruling zionist um cabal or the rulers of the zionist
cabal this may be the way they get rid of him they allow him to be convicted and in prison he has to
resign and maybe they turn him over to the icc for another trial but this is this is amazing that
in the middle of all this war he is in a courtroom fighting for his political life
i want to get back to the war world war three newsweek russian forces encircled in syria circled in Syria. Syria is a major, was,
up until the weekend,
Syria was a major ally of Russia.
Its biggest ally in the Middle East.
And they had troops there.
They had a naval base.
They had an air base.
And over the weekend,
their troops were cut off.
They were surrounded and got caught by surprise by this choreographed revolution that took place.
And so this is Newsweek yesterday saying Russian military personnel are reportedly trapped in Syria.
The deposed Syrian president fled to russia
uh the this followed advances across the russia about by across the country by rebels okay russian
social media channels are reporting that moscow troops are stuck in the country quote groups of
russian military personnel are reportedly encircled in syria now this is from a pro-ukrainian
news site saying that there were several thousand russian military personnel still in the country
now this next one is today i-24 tv in israel ukraine claims russian forces began leaving syria again this is all according to
ukrainian intelligence the director of ukrainian intelligence said today tuesday that russian
military forces have begun withdrawing from syria and a fleet of planes has been dispatched
to the airbase there to help russia is said to be using a fleet of military transport ships
to load soldiers, weapons, and military equipment
to take it back to Russia.
According to several sources,
a number of AN-124 and 76MD aircraft
are supposed to fly from the air base
in Latakia in Syria,
to airports in Russia.
In addition, Russia is rallying its naval fleet.
The large ships of Russia's northern fleet
are en route to the Mediterranean Sea
at the Tardis port.
The Russians are carrying out an emergency
evacuation this is doc this is astounding they're abandoning syria they are abandoning their
multi-billion dollar military base just like the united states abandoned afghanistan and left
everything behind the russians are leaving everything behind in Syria.
They have abandoned Syria.
They've lost their only warm water naval port.
It's a tremendous blow to the Russian Navy.
Following in that same theme there,
France 24 is reporting that it's Iran and Russia.
They're the two big losers following Assad's ouster from Syria.
Of course, Iran and Syria have been linked together for a long time.
Russia has had a partner there with Syria.
But now both of these have been cut out of that pie, if you will.
And so what does this mean as we move forward for Middle East relations?
Well, a lot of things are still shaking out and everything.
Newsweek reports that Russia is set to lose its sole Mediterranean base as warships leave port.
Rick, if I would have told you a year ago that Russia would leave Syria.
If you would have told me two weeks ago that
Russia was going to abandon its naval base and flee
Syria, I would have said, no, there's no way. There's no way
that they're going to do that. But it just happened. See, folks, we're
living through history. i want you to comprehend that this is history being made world war iii is underway
and we just witnessed in the past four days we witnessed the the collapse of Syria, ancient Syria.
It's in the Bible, folks.
The country's in the Bible.
And it just fell.
In the last four days, in front of our eyes, an ancient country fell.
It's the end of Syria.
It's the end of Syria it's the end of it I pray for God's mercy
on the Christians of Syria
that they're not slaughtered
yes
Biden destroyed
when I say Biden
the Biden administration and Israel
destroyed Christianity in Aleppo.
Earlier,
Obama and Biden
and Hillary Clinton
destroyed Christianity in Mosul, Iraq.
Yes.
Which was old ancient Nineveh.
The ancient Christian church of the Middle East is being destroyed.
It's not the Muslims who are killing the Christians.
This is a Zionist operation.
And they have mercenaries pretending to be radical Muslims.
They're just killers.
That's all they are. They're just killers. That's all they are.
They're just hired killers.
And yet the public believes all this stuff.
Oh, the United States, Doc,
yesterday and today,
the U.S. was bombing ISIS in Syria.
Sure you were.
Sure.
Okay.
You were bombing what was left of the Syrianrian army because the syrian army was fighting
isis if that's the case rick then why isn't isis and al-qaeda fighting israel and the u.s
no the the u.s and israel support al-qaeda now the new reformed uh al-qaeda it's reformed it's new it's better al-qaeda has now
been made mainstream we've got mainstream al-qaeda and the the the propaganda is just taking the
minds of hundreds of millions of people deeper down into the into babylon you're buying this stuff people are
buying it oh oh i see u.s is bombing isis syria was bad they're they're terrorists no syria was
killing the isis terrorists the u.s was funding isis just because they put it in the headlines the other way around doesn't mean it's true.
That's right.
Going to this is Wall Street Journal number 13.
Iran suffers blow of historic proportions.
No doubt about it. Russia and Iran are the big losers in the fall of Syria.
This is earth shattering, huge.
Iran is next.
That's right.
They're next.
Iran will fall.
Iran now has two choices.
Fight or collapse.
That's it.
Netanyahu has been picking off Israel's opponents one by one.
He took out Hamas.
He took out Hezbollah.
He just took out Syria.
Now he's gunning for iran right and has also removed russia from being a factor here yes he defeated russia in the middle east
russia got kicked out of the middle east that's that's what just happened russia was kicked out of the middle east this is mind-boggling what's taking place
well how close are we to having a big war with iran well let's take a look at the propaganda
here's the wall street journal rupert murdoch's newspaper. The risk of Iran building nuclear weapons is growing, says U.S. intelligence.
There you go.
There's our excuse.
That and a fake assassination attempt on Donald Trump, Doc.
They're going to fake an assassination attempt on Donald Trump and say Iran did it.
We've been told for 20-some years that Iran was months away from a nuclear bomb.
Oh, weeks away.
Oh, yeah, sometimes it was weeks.
It varies.
Sometimes it's six months.
Sometimes it's two months.
Sometimes it's two weeks.
So the Wall Street Journal is telling us, you see all this stuff going on?
You know what's going to be really bad?
Iran's going to speed up its development of nuclear weapons.
Right.
So we're going to have to hit them before they build the bomb.
Folks, that's coming.
And I'll tell you when it's coming. Unless Iran strikes first before Donald Trump gets in the White House, that attack on Iran will take place after January 20th.
Because the Biden administration will not back up Israel in fighting Iran.
But Mr. Trump will.
Yes. He'll gladly do it yes uh iran could attack it almost uh doc seems like um a suicidal uh action it would it would be the end of Persia. The end. Think about it.
Persia.
Syria just fell.
Are we now looking at the destruction of Persia?
Folks, do you understand?
The Antichrist army is on the move.
Netanyahu is not leading the forces of christ they're anti-christ
who can make war with the beast
next story this jerusalem post former idf official tells the jerusalem Jerusalem Post Israel should get the United States to hit Iran's nukes.
Now there's an idea.
There you go.
That was in the Jerusalem Post two days ago.
What we've got to do is convince America to attack Iran.
You mean like a USS Liberty type of event?
Is that what you're talking about some kind of false flag event
says Israel should seize the opportunity
of Assad's regime falling
and the Iranian proxy axis weakening
to convince the US to strike Iran's nuclear program, said former IDF operations command Major General Israel Ziv.
He told this to the Jerusalem Post on Sunday. Assad is a historic opportunity and that Washington, especially under Donald Trump,
might be more ready than ever to
take advantage of Iran's weakness.
Yes. Now in the past, one reason among many that neither
American nor Israeli officials were ready to attack Iran's nuclear program
was the anticipated blowback from Iran's proxies.
But Ziv said now we can undertake additional moves to see how much we can press the success against Iran
so they cannot strengthen or further advance their nuclear program.
General Ziv emphasized that Israel cannot do it without the U.S.
Listen to that.
Cannot do it without the U.S. Listen to that. Cannot do it without the U.S.
We need them given certain limits in Israel's airstrike capabilities regarding Iran's nuclear
program. He gave an example here. It's been widely reported for years that the U.S. has a 30,000
pound bomb that can destroy Iranian nuclear facilities concealed under a mountain. But Israel does not have weapons of such power, nor does it have aircraft large enough to deliver them.
Additionally, Iran's nuclear program is extremely spread out,
and Washington has a much larger air force for covering more targets.
Well, what are friends for, Doc?
That's right.
By the way, I don't know if you know this, Doc.
My congressional nemesis when I ran for Congress against Congressman Brian Mass, he was appointed by the House Speaker today, Doc, as the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Really?
Yes.
That's a plum seat. So Netanyahu.
That's a plum seat there.
Netanyahu won another one.
AIPAC won another one.
They got one of their boys in a powerful position.
And I guarantee you, Chairman Mass will be calling for the bombing of Iran.
Yes.
Just watch. of iran yes just watch chairman mass will demand that president coming elect president trump
he needs to defend israel he needs to defend democracy and freedom and he needs to bomb iran
you're going to hear a lot of it between now and in february uh so uh get ready for it uh doc you know obviously
a whole program worth 30 minutes into the program which all we've talked about here is world war
three yes few people in this country comprehend the magnitude of what is going on
that i will say there are more people who are starting to say i think world war iii is has
already started they're starting to come to the position that we were at in february of 2022
when we announced world war iii has started So people are starting to be aware that things are getting serious.
But the general public really doesn't comprehend it.
They don't understand the magnitude of what just took place in Syria.
I'm encouraging you to not let up on your preparation.
Do not think that the election of Donald Trump is going to make everything go away.
He doesn't have stardust.
He's not going to catch moonbeams and put them in a jar.
Okay.
Doc, in fact, the way he's talking he's gonna bomb people yes and the mega folks will be behind him all the way yes especially if it's in the middle east
if if it's about flexing american muscles and crushing people they're going to go for it so don't think everything's going to calm
down just the opposite what just happened in the past four days just greatly accelerated our march
towards a nuclear war why because we're telling a bear we're telling a bear. We're telling a bear, you just got pushed out.
You're next.
You're on the list.
We're going to take out Iran, and then we're coming for you.
And then we're coming for Russia.
And they know it.
And then in the 2030s, we're coming for China.
That's right.
That's the plan.
There you go.
So American Reserves is holding a special 12 days of Christmas.
And today is already day number six.
This thing started last week.
So the 12 days of Christmas, 12 days of preparedness.
And every day there is a different offer you should be receiving emails from american reserves today day six are the specialty buckets
it's a buy one get one free one day just one day on this one, the specialty buckets. Buy one, get one free. You got

that was yesterday has expired.
This is today's, the specialty
buckets. And in
among the specialty buckets, Doc,
all right, I
picked a day you're not here.
Okay.
I've had them.
I've had them already.
So I have here three bags of dried fruit, and I've got a little snack bowl going on here, Doc.
So I've got strawberries,
bananas, and peaches.
Yes.
And they are delicious.
I'm eating them dry.
I mean, these can be reconstituted with water.
Right.
But I like them just dry.
It's great.
Great taste,
especially the strawberries.
They're really tasty.
But, you know, it's...
You can add them to cereal, oatmeal. You can
use them as a dessert. I mean, they're easy
to use. I mean, like you said, you can eat them dry
or you can reconstitute them with water.
I've had them. I like them. And I recommend
if you've been thinking about adding a unique feature to your preparedness, then take advantage of the specialty buckets today, especially the fruit buckets.
And I think you'll be greatly surprised.
You didn't know preparedness could taste so good.
And you don't have to wait for a nuclear war to eat them.
That's right.
They're actually very good to eat every day.
We're going to do a commercial, and while the commercial is playing,
I'm going to eat some strawberries, okay?
We'll be back in one minute.

It includes the buckets that have the dried meat, the chicken, the beef, and so forth, powdered eggs, whey milk, the dried fruit that I have here, and the dried vegetables.
There's buckets for all of those food products.

It's today only.
Tomorrow will be another Christmas special.
Let's get back to World War III.
And I want to go down to number 16, Times of Israel.
After the fall of Assad, Netanyahu says Israel is transforming the face of the Middle East.
How about building greater Israel?
Yes.
Do you understand what's going on?
Netanyahu is conquering nations.
He's building greater Israel.
He does not care what people say about him.
He doesn't care if the International Criminal Court arrests him.
He doesn't care if he's the most hated man in the world. He is determined to build greater Israel,
reconstitute the Davidic empire. He believes that he's bringing back the messiah yes he has messianic delusions he believes
he's this is necessary see he believes in christian zionism too without christ in it
it's called zionism he believes that they must conquer the middle east reconstitute the Davidic territory so that the Messiah can come back.
Isn't that what the Christian Zionists teach?
He also wants to build it.
Yes.
I was going to say, the Christian Zionists believe they're doing it for Jesus.
But Netanyahu believes, Zionism, pure Zionismism believes that the state itself is the Messiah.
Keep that in mind, folks.
It's akin to communism, really, where communism says that the state basically is the replacement for religion, for their savior.
Well, in Zionism, they simply replace the, if you will, greater Israel as the Messiah.
Well, you know, Doc, that was the view of the secular Zionists, such as Theodor Herzl.
But your hardcore religious Zionists actually believe there's going to be a Messiah.
Yes. actually believe there's going to be a Messiah. And Netanyahu is in that camp,
and they are waiting,
maybe he's waiting on Rabbi Schneerson
to come out of the grave.
You know?
I don't know what he's thinking,
but he wants a third temple.
This man is driven by Zionist,
false Messiah delusions.
Their Messiah is a false Messiah.
And you've got these goofy Christian Zionists clapping for the forces of Antichrist to bring their false Messiah.
We're watching nations fall. the devil is on the march
look at the next one why not news jordanian leaders fear the kingdom could be next
doctor licking their chops for jordan
that'll be an easy one for them. It's a small country.
The Israeli leaders are saying,
we can do it.
We can take them.
All we have to do is start a fake revolution in Jordan.
Top of the king.
Top of the king.
Storm his palace.
Kill him and his family. And we own Jordan.
You don't think it can't happen?
I didn't think Syria would fall on a weekend.
I thought the Russians would defend Syria.
They couldn't even defend themselves.
And the U.S. won't defend Jordan, even though we have military presence,
a heavy military presence in Jordan.
We would let it happen.
Yes.
If it's Israel taking it.
Of course, Israel won't themselves take it.
They'll hire Al Qaeda.
Yes.
They'll let Al Qaeda take it, and then they will go in and invade it and say, we're here to stabilize
the situation.
We're here to seize all of the king's wealth and his palaces and his army to make sure
that no Al Qaeda terrorists get it.
Washington Post, you talk about propaganda.
The United States scrambles to contain the chaos.
Are you serious?
The United States?
We're the architects of it.
They are the architects of the chaos.
This is pure propaganda.
Oh, yes.
Washington is terribly troubled by the chaos that's turned loose in the Middle East,
and they're trying to figure out how do we get this under control.
They know how they're going to get it under control when Israeli troops are everywhere,
when there are Israeli military bases in Syria, the Guardian, Israel, the United States and Turkey launched strikes in Syria to protect their interests.
They're attacking each other.
Yes, they're attacking each other.
The United States is attacking forces supported by Turkey and Turkey is fighting the forces supported by the United States, and Israel's taking advantage of all of it.
That's right.
Old Erdogan, he's got his hands all over this thing, Doc.
He's really, he thinks he's the winner.
He sees himself as the winner.
And he said the other day, Doc,
I don't have the article here with me. He said yesterday that the next three to four
months will change the world. He said the next three to four months will change the
world. I don't know what he knows, what he expects to happen,
but he said,
there are only two leaders in the world now,
Putin and me.
Oh, yes.
Did you see that?
Yes.
Only Putin and Erdogan were the only world leaders left.
Everybody else are amateurs.
He has his fingerprints all over this revolution
I think he was the architect
of it
and this is a NATO member
yes
but they're all working together
yes
because Erdogan plays all sides but they're all working together. Yes.
Because Erdogan plays all sides.
So, you know, he's out, you know,
not always in good standing with NATO. So how did he get back in the good graces of NATO?
Hey, I'll organize a revolution.
I'll take over Syria.
It's amazing to watch this happen.
New York Times.
With Syria in flux,
Turkish forces attack U.S.-backed forces.
NATO, a NATO nation attacking the forces
backed by another nato nation and then you even
have inside the u.s the pentagon is fighting the forces of the cia yes there are so many players
in this revolution in syria The Telegraph.
Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of Great Britain.
He thanks British troops for secret mission in the volatile Middle East. A secret mission.
British troops on a secret mission. What could the secret
be? I can't tell you. It's a secret, Rick.
Yeah, so he personally went to Cyprus to meet
the British troops who were coming back from some secret operation. I got a little video clip. I
want you to hear what the British Prime Minister said. And that's why at this time of year, I think
a thanks to all of you is due, and it should be delivered personally.
It's very important that you get to hear it personally.
But I recognise it's been a really important, busy, busy year.
And this space obviously sort of has multi-dimensions to it.
There's a lot of different work that goes on. I'm also aware that some or quite a bit of what goes on here can't
necessarily be talked about all the time. It isn't, although we're really proud of what you're doing,
we can't necessarily tell the world what you're doing here and therefore it makes it really
important to say thank you to acknowledge that because although we're not saying it to the whole
world for reasons that are obvious to you, the whole world is relying on you and everybody back at
home is relying on you and knowing that you will be there. So a big thanks from me.
Could you give us some hints of what the secret operation was? Was it a revolution in Syria?
Was it the takedown of the Syrian government?
Did they get a break because missions accomplished?
Come on back to the base in Cyprus.
You did a great job.
Syria has fallen and Israel's taking over Syria.
This next one, Doc.
This is supposed to be a free Syrian army member inviting the Israeli Jewish business community to come to the new Syria and invest in Syria. Folks, these demoniacs that are setting the world on fire have no shame.
There's nothing that shames them anymore.
They'll put out the most ridiculous propaganda.
They'll send their little puppets out in front of the cameras and say, go out there and invite Israel to come in and invest money.
Yes.
Because they know there's a percentage of the people in the world that will believe it.
That will buy it.
You're telling me that Al-Qaeda, Al-Qaeda now wants to be in business with Israel?
Well, I guess they've been in business with them from the beginning, haven't they?
That's right. Let's watch.
Well, we invite Israel to come to Syria and invest.
The FSA member in Dar es Salaam, Israel outlet channel 11.
Dear neighbors and friends from the friendly state of Israel, I'm talking to you.
The people of Darna are joyous after Assad's rule has been brought to an end. I'm speaking
on my behalf and all the free
people of Syria. Our next phase
will be harmony and peace
with the state of Israel.
There will be no extremism.
We share passion.
We invite Israel
to come to Syria
and invest.
I thought they were sworn enemies of Israel.
This is Al Qaeda.
This is the new reformed Al Qaeda.
They do business.
This Al Qaeda doesn't decapitate.
Doc, this Al Qaeda doesn't decapitate people.
Sure they don't. Not publicly. They doesn't decapitate people. Sure they don't, not publicly.
They are not decapitators.
They are capitalists.
All right?
They want Jewish capital.
Hey, we took over the country.
We're destroying it so the EU can come and rebuild it and own it.
He read his lines, Doc.
Yes.
He read his lines.
That's what he was supposed to do.
Times of Israel.
Israeli official says, look at this one, Doc.
Yes.
We are mauling changing tack on Ukraine war now that Russia is weakened.
Am I reading what I think I'm reading?
Israel is going to get involved in Ukraine.
That's exactly what this says.
This is today, folks.
Israel is going to get involved, and Ukraine had been involved all the time. Remember Zelensky said
three years ago
Ukraine will be bigger Israel.
Remember that?
You're about to see it.
Now that Russia is weakened.
Doc, they're going to make a move on Russia.
They are seeing blood in the water.
They're seeing blood in the water.
They're going to make a move a lot sooner than I expected,
unless somehow the Lord holds this war off for a while.
But we may, Doc, we may see a war with Russia
in the very near future.
And the 2030s war
is with China.
Right.
With no Russia
in the war.
Okay.
There's a real possibility,
folks.
So,
this article,
Times of Israel,
said the best outcome
for Israel,
says the official,
the best outcome for Israel, says the official, the best outcome for Israel is a Syria that becomes a federation of autonomous ethnic regions.
Duh.
What are you going to do to it?
They're going to carve up Syria.
Everybody's going to get them some.
Yes. Everybody's going to get them some. Everybody's going to get some Syria.
Erdogan's going to get some Syria.
Israel's going to get some Syria.
The Kurds are going to get some Syria.
Everybody's going to get some Syria.
And at the end of the day, there won't be a Syria.
You're watching it happen, folks. A country that has been in existence since the days of the Bible is ending in front of our eyes.
It's happening right now.
We're at the end, folks.
We're at the end of the world.
Do you understand?
We're at the end.
I don't know how many years ahead.
I mean, when you're talking about the end of the world, it doesn't have to happen in the next 15 minutes. The world's been around for thousands
of years to be at the end. Is that five years? Is it 10 years? Is it 20 years? What do we have? We're watching the disappearance of biblical nations.
And we may see Persia disappear in the next 90 days.
Hey, Forbes Magazine, they're catching up with us, Doc.
Finally.
I want to encourage them, world war this is forbes
two days ago world war three has already begun and businesses need to take note
how about that now people that read forbes magazine they they saw this to this week and
said wow forbes says world War III has already started.
So how should I invest?
How should I invest?
Where can I make money on war?
But if the readers of Forbes had been watching True News
for the past three years,
they would have known
that we said in February of 2022,
World War III has started.
So we had to wait
for Forbes magazine to catch up with true news.
But we're glad.
We applaud them.
They're a little slow, but better late than never.
RT, another Russian official, repeating what Putin said yesterday.
The West is fostering a global conflict.
And this came from
the head of their Russian
Foreign Intelligence
Service. I'll let you read it, Doc.
So, the West may try to format
a global conflict that would send shock
waves through Europe and Asia
in an effort to cling to its power.
The head of Russian Foreign
Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, has said.
In an interview with the Russian magazine Radvednik, or Spy magazine, released Tuesday,
Naryshkin accused Western countries of refusing to acknowledge that the era of their unchallenged
domination of the planet is coming to an end.
According to the spy chief, the West is ready
to resort to dire measures to avert this outcome. He's quoted as saying in this article,
one of the possible medium-term scenarios is an attempt by the West to unleash a global armed
conflict centering in Eurasia. He argued, describing the scenario as a proven way for global capital to
get out of the crisis so doc uh last week uh wednesday last week russia's top military general
called america's top military general our chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,
General Charles Brown, Jr. And the Russian general is Valery Gerasimov. He's the equivalent
of the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of Russia. General Gerasimov called General Brown.
It didn't get a lot of press. We didn't talk about it last week. I was aware of it. But I want to point out to you what the New York Times reported yesterday,
that General Gerasimov, the architect of Putin's invasion of Ukraine,
called President Biden's top military advisor and talked about how to manage escalation concerns between the two countries
oh wait a minute the the top general of russia who oversees its massive arsenal of nuclear
warheads called the top general of the united states to say, we need to talk about the escalating tensions between
our two countries.
The rare phone call took place the day before Thanksgiving, six days after Russia launched
its hypersonic ballistic missile, and that Putin said was in response to Ukraine's use
of American and British weapons to strike deeper into Russia.
The bottom line, what I want you to see here is that you had a phone call between the two highest-ranking generals in the United States and Russia.
They didn't call—
That's how rich retentions are right now.
They didn't talk about sports.
They talked about the possibility of a nuclear war.
Now, a few days ago, I guess it was last week, I mentioned that President-elect Trump appointed retired General Kellogg to be his envoy to Russia to negotiate the end of the Ukraine war. And I said, my opinion is with no disrespect to General Kellogg,
that it's wrong to send a military officer to negotiate a settlement of a war
because you send military officers
to enforce a surrender.
Yes.
It's the wrong optics.
The Russians are going to view it
as a demand for surrender.
And I said,
I have a feeling that
General Kellogg's going to go over there
acting like General MacArthur telling the Japanese,
here are the terms, you need to surrender.
And it's not going to go well.
And the Russians took it that way, too.
That's the way they perceived it.
And I said, I hope President Trump rethinks all this.
And that he doesn't anger the Russians.
He's got an open door to start fresh and end this war.
He said he was going to end the war in 24 hours.
Well, I want you to see what President Trump posted today on his Truth Social.
Can you read that, Doc?
Yes.
It says, Assad is gone.
He has fled his country. His protector, Russia, Russia, Russia,
led by Vladimir Putin, was not interested in protecting him any longer. There was no reason
for Russia to be there in the first place. They lost all interest in Syria because of Ukraine,
where close to 600,000 Russian soldiers lay wounded or dead in a war that never should
have started and could go on forever.
Russia and Iran are in a weakened state right now, one because of Ukraine and a bad economy,
the other because of Israel and its fighting success. Likewise, Zelensky and Ukraine would
like to make a deal and stop the madness. They have ridiculously lost 400,000 soldiers and many more civilians.
There should be an immediate ceasefire and negotiations should begin. Too many lives are
being so needlessly wasted, too many families destroyed, and if it keeps going, it can turn
into something much bigger and far worse. I know Vladimir well. This is his time to act.
China can help. The world is waiting.
He just told Putin, surrender. Yes. He said, you're weak. You had no business in Syria. Well,
Mr. Trump, you had no business putting American troops in Syria to steal their oil. At least Syria invited the Russians.
They were allies.
I mean, it's really pompous and arrogant to talk to Putin that way.
I guarantee you, Mr. Trump just shut the door.
Everybody's going into their battle positions now.
Oh, so you're going to tell us we're going to accept your terms of surrender, Mr. Trump?
Is that what you're telling us?
Why is he talking this way?
Because his head is filled up with all this pride.
He's on a roll.
Nobody can stop him.
He's going to crush anybody who gets in his path.
It's a good
way to get us killed.
Yes.
No statesman,
Doc. No statesman
anywhere in this country.
None. No
statesman.
You
can't give him advice.
Who's going to advise him, don't write that. Don't post that. Who's going to advise him,
don't write that, don't post that?
Who's going to tell him?
Reuters,
Zelensky seeks diplomatic end to Russia's war and floats the role of foreign troops.
Oh, that's going to go over really well in Moscow.
Putin's going to allow NATO troops?
You think so?
So they're talking about
freezing the war,
bringing in foreign troops,
meaning NATO,
and setting up a buffer zone,
a DMZ,
that will go on for 50 to 70 years.
TASS News Agency, this is today.
Putin says his Hazel missile, the one that he fired two weeks ago,
Doc, he says it minimizes the need to use nuclear weapons.
Isn't that an interesting observation?
Right.
He said this hypersonic missile is so powerful, I don't think I need to nuke anybody.
I could just wipe out a city with conventional warheads.
It's interesting.
Do you sense this is a step back for Vladimir Putin in saying this?
No, I think he's telling people, I've got a club that's pretty mean.
And I don't have to bring out the big club. Right. I can beat you with this new club
because it's going to come out of the sky like a lightning bolt
you won't see it coming and you don't have a way of stopping it
excuse me telegraph u.s missiles would run out within days in a war with china
i guess so we we used up all our missiles in Ukraine.
What have I been saying for two and a half years?
The winner in this war between Russia and Ukraine is China.
And here's why. Yes.
Joe Biden, who is corrupt, corrupt and bought off by the Chinese. The reason Biden is spending so much American money
and so much military firepower in Ukraine
is to weaken us.
He has weakened America.
And he's doing it at the behest of the Chinese.
The Chinese are sitting back watching the united states and russia weaken each other
draining their resources depleting their military and xi jinping is sitting back going go do it boys
keep it up because we're building our military and then we're going to be ready to strike, and you guys won't have any weapons.
And that's exactly what this story says from the Telegraph.
Doc, I couldn't find any American media that covered this report.
It said the U.S. would run out of missiles within days if war breaks out with China.
A House committee has found that American supplies of long-range anti-ship missiles will run dry within three to seven days if China invades Taiwan.
Three to seven days.
That's just Taiwan.
U.S. military experts have projected 2027 as the year that China would be fully equipped for a military invasion of Taiwan.
We're getting closer to that 2030 mark.
Wall Street Journal, China stages largest show of force in decades after U.S. visit by Taiwan's Lei.
So China put on a big military show of force in Taiwan or around Taiwan today.
Right.
And this was an unannounced drill that China is running.
Normally, the Chinese put out an announcement saying, hey, we're going to have a big drill and everything.
This time they didn't do that.
And so we need to watch this situation and see how it develops here.
That's right. All right. I've got one more big story before we close.
Truth Social. Donald Trump's doing it again.
I do have I laugh. I mean, he is funny stuff. He does.
It was a pleasure to have dinner the other night with Governor Justin Trudeau of the great state of Canada. I look forward to seeing the governor again soon so that we may continue our in-depth talks on tariffs and trades,
the result of which will be truly spectacular for all.
Donald J. Trump.
You know, this trolling of Justin Trudeau is interesting to see how this is playing out because what it's doing
right now in Canada,
there's discussion going
on. You know, at dinner tables
and at lunch counters and stuff like
did you hear what Donald Trump said about
Canada becoming a
state? And you've got to know that
there's some people who say, you know, that wouldn't be such a
bad idea after all. Yes, but
the other thing that's happening, Doc, is that Canadian voters are saying
Trudeau is an embarrassment.
Yeah, he didn't stand up to Trump.
If we had a strong prime minister that Trump respected, he would never do this to us.
We've got to get—so one thing that President Trump is doing Is that he is eroding Trudeau's
Political base
He's humiliating him
He's humiliating him
I'll show you
Go ahead talk
Did you hear Trudeau's response
To the 25% tariff
That Trump proposed on
Canadian goods
Justin Trudeau said well we, we can do tariffs, too.
We can do it on bourbon, Harley Davidson, maple syrup and cherries.
Oh, boy.
I bet we could.
I bet we could deal with that.
Yes.
He also alluded to taking legal action against the United States.
All right.
Try that one.
I'll show you some Canadian press.
Here's CBC, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
Trump taunts Trudeau by calling him governor
and Canada a great state.
And I've got a CV,
I got just a small clip from CBC television in Canada.
And this is Chrystia Freeland, the Deputy Prime Minister.
Isn't she the Ukrainian whose grandfather was a Nazi?
That's the one.
That's her.
Her grandfather was a Ukrainian Nazi in World War II.
She happens to be the prime minister, deputy prime minister of Canada.
So this is her defending Canada from becoming a 51st state.
Donald Trump this morning posted that he had a nice dinner with Justin Trudeau from the great state of Canada on Meet the Press this weekend.
He also bandied about the same idea that Canada could join the U.S. How do you plan to negotiate with
someone who doesn't seem to be taking Canada seriously right now?
I am really clear about Canada. I know how lucky I am to be Canadian. I know what a great country we live in.
And without, you know, being appropriately Canadian, nice to other countries,
I want to say Canada is the greatest country in the world.
I'm very clear on that.
All of us are very clear on that.
Do you think that the president-elect is trolling the federal government?
I truly am going to urge everyone who has questions to the president-elect to pose those
to him. What I am going to say is I'm going to speak for myself and I'm going to
speak for Canada. And I'm going to say something that I think we all believe and recognize.
We are so lucky to be Canadian. I am so proud of our country. I am so proud of the true north,
strong and free. And I also want to say to Canadians that our government
is absolutely determined to defend the national interest we will do so our principle during the
NAFTA negotiations was that we did not escalate and that we also did not back down.
I think that is a very Canadian approach, and it's an approach that works.
Lousy answer.
All she had to say was, everybody knows Donald Trump is joking.
Come on, let's move on to a serious topic.
That's all she had to say.
She dwelled on it.
She dwelled on it.
Yes.
She couldn't let it go.
One serious story here.
Brazilian President Lula
was rushed into hospitals today
for emergency brain surgery.
He had a hemorrhage.
I read a later report
that he is conscious
and recovering.
And I'm going to end with something.
I got to end with two videos.
I've been telling you, focus on the things that are good and pure and that remind you about what life is about, that it's not about all this bad news.
It's not about all the things that we focus on.
Don't miss out on the good things.
You know, for me, children and animals.
Those are the two, it's like the purest things you can see.
Children and animals.
And if you put the two together, what do you have, Doc?
If you put kids together with animals it's it's uh you have
hours of good clean fun that's all right so i want you to see this video i found on twitter
of his little farm boy loading up his train
got his little sister there with him got his rabbits got his ducks, got the produce.
This is just so precious.
Such a simpler, you know, more sane time, Rick.
Yes.
When life was simple, life was good.
And in some parts of our country, it's still this way.
And we got to remember it.
It's not all crazy.
There are places in our country that are still decent and simple and good and clean. So the next one. What happens if you're a dog and somebody takes your favorite stick and uses it as an arm in a snowman?
What do you do?
Let's watch.
Well, you get it back.
You retrieve it.
That's his favorite stick.
Somebody put it in that snowman.
And he is determined.
He's working really hard's he's working so hard
to get that stick back that was his favorite stick doc he's had that stick for weeks
all right hey i hope it makes you laugh uh we got to do something to get beyond this news
don't stop laughing don't stop smiling Find something today that's good and decent
and dwell on it.
And thank the Lord for the good things
that are in life, okay?
Keep everything in perspective.
Keep things balanced.
Love you very much.
Thank you so much for watching.
God bless you.

Well, good morning.
Welcome to Morning Manor. And today is the last
class in the book of Matthew for this year, 2024. And it has been an amazing year.
I have learned so much. It's been a great journey.
And I have been blessed to have so many wonderful students with us every day.
And I don't have words to express how I feel right now.
I feel bonded to this class.
I feel very bonded to this class.
You've been Berean brethren as we have
studied the word of God like the Bereans.
You've motivated me. You've challenged me
because I And you've motivated me. You've challenged me.
Because I, every night I knew they're going to be there at 8 o'clock in the morning.
Yes.
You know, I told some of our guys.
They're expecting a meal.
And I've got to prepare for it.
I told some of our team members, some of the young guys that have children,
and several of our guys have four and five children.
I said, you know what it's like.
You want to sleep in, but you know those kids are going to wake up and come running into the bedroom saying, I'm hungry.
When is breakfast?
All right.
Yeah, there were days. There were days this past year I wish I could have slept in, but I knew there's going to be a class full of people at 8 a.m.
waiting to be fed. And that was, it was not a burden. It was a joy. It was an absolute joy to get up early every day and prepare a meal.
And, you know, the teacher feeds the students, but who feeds the teacher?
Well, if you're teaching the Bible, the Holy Spirit teaches the teacher.
And so, you know, I had to go to the Lord every day.
Lord, what is in, what's in these scriptures that I've not seen?
What's important?
Tell me, tell me your point of view about your scriptures.
They're your scriptures.
Interpret them for me me according to the way you
wrote them the way you spoke them what is in what's in these scriptures that we need to glean
and and um ponder today and i i began every day like that and so the Lord fed me
and there were many
days and this happened yesterday
I said things
for the first time
in the class
the revelation came to me during
the class
and that's the presence
of the Holy Spirit
revealing his word.
So it's been awesome.
You know, tomorrow, and maybe we'll see how this goes,
you know, we'll meet tomorrow.
We're going to pray tomorrow.
You know, also want to take some time.
Maybe tomorrow we'll go through comments, maybe
prayer for whatever your needs are on Thursday. We'll gather Friday for communion,
and then we're going to take a break. We'll take a semester break, and Doc is going away
the following week. He and his wife are going to the Philippines.
So you haven't been there since COVID days, right?
Right.
All right.
So you went in 2020.
And so you're going to be going back to the Philippines.
And we're going to have some of our staff members away taking their vacation during the Christmas holidays so they can go home and visit family.
So anyhow, we won't be doing any classes until January 6th.
We'll come back on January 6th, Monday, January 6th, and we'll begin the book of Romans.
Don't know what I'm gonna do without you.
Honestly, I mean that.
I mean it sincerely.
I've bonded with you.
I'm gonna miss you.
I will miss you for those weeks.
Now, I will tell you this.
I'm working on several books. I'm working on a book about World War III, and I'm also taking all of my notes from Matthew and creating a study guide on the book of Matthew.
And so that's requiring attention and focus also.
So I'm going to try to get both of them done
before we get back in early January.
That's a lot of work.
And we're also rolling out a new podcast, Remnant Ready.
So it's not like we're taking off time just to twiddle our thumbs and drink eggnog at Christmas.
That's not what we're doing. We're working, okay? We're going to be very busy. So, Doc, let's pray. We'll read our final verses, verses 16 through 20.
Dear gracious Father, oh God, how we thank you and praise you for a full year of studying your wonderful word in the gospel according to St. Matthew. Thank you, Father, for faithfully meeting with us every day
and teaching us, feeding us, edifying us,
building us up in the faith, Father.
And so, Father, we rejoice in this year of study.
None of us are the same today as where we were at on the first day in January when we
started this study. You've changed us. You've brought light and liberty and understanding
into our minds, our souls, our hearts. You've done things in our lives that we were not even aware were taking place
simply because we were studying your word.
And, Father, we just give you thanksgiving and praise.
Now, Father, in this final class on the book of Matthew,
continue one more time to open our hearts and minds to understand your word according to your ways as you spoke it, as you inspired Matthew to write it.
In Jesus' name, amen.
Amen.
And as Rick said, we are on our final passage here today in Matthew chapter 28.
And I'll be reading verses 16 through 20, so if you have your Bibles, turn
there with me right now. Today I'm reading from the New King James Version, excuse me, verse 16.
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for
them. When they saw him, they worshipped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them,
saying, All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee.
Matthew, for some reason,
passed over all the other intermediate appearances by Jesus he
went directly to that which connected itself with the mission and the work of
the Apostles right and through them the universal worldwide church he was he
went straight to the heart of it. He bypassed all those other appearances by Jesus.
So this verse emphasizes the disciples' compliance, their obedience, with Jesus' instructions,
which were given before and after the resurrection.
Yes.
After the resurrection, Jesus repeated the instruction he gave them before the crucifixion.
If you can recall, just a few weeks ago when we were in chapter 26,
after the Passover meal and the institution of the Lord's Supper.
Remember we read that Jesus and the men went outside and they sang hymns.
Yes.
Then they walked to the Mount of Olives.
So Matthew 26, verse 30 says, And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the Mount of Olives.
Then saith Jesus unto them, all ye shall be offended because of me this night,
for it is written, I will smite the shepherd,
and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
Then verse 32, but after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
Did they understand it?
Obviously not, because he had to give the instruction again after the resurrection
that's right he said i will go before you into galilee so we we just answered a question that
we asked yesterday okay well you know what was jesus doing during those days
well he said i will go before you I'll get to Galilee before you do.
He already knew guys.
It's going to take you guys eight days to get there.
Eight days after the resurrection.
So you'll show up in Galilee.
I'll be there.
I'll be waiting on you.
So now.
The men are doing it.
The 11 disciples went into Galilee to the mountain where Jesus had sent them.
Yes.
They're finally getting something right.
So we see their willingness to obey, even though there was uncertainty. They had no idea what was going to happen.
The number is 11, obviously, 12 minus 1, Judas is dead at this point.
His absence speaks of, you know,
it speaks of the gravity of his betrayal, the cost of discipleship.
Judas should have been there.
Yeah.
He should have been there.
He missed something because of his disobedience, because of sin in his heart.
He missed a meeting with Jesus.
Now, all right, Doc, this one's open for discussion.
Although the Bible doesn't tell us,
it is possible that many other disciples made the journey to Galilee too.
Yes.
Why do I say that?
Well, the resurrected Christ appeared to many of his disciples.
How could you prevent others from knowing about the scheduled meeting in Galilee?
Do you think they kept that secret?
Do you think the 11 kept it secret?
Jesus was showing up in his resurrected body. And the 11 knew that they were told to go to Galilee.
And they probably told people, they probably told other disciples before the
crucifixion, yeah, he told us something about he's going to be raised up and we're
supposed to meet him in Galilee.
Right.
I mean, the cat was out of the bag.
People knew after the resurrection, he's going to Galilee.
So you can be certain there were more than 11 people who went to Galilee.
That's my view, Doc.
I agree with you
and then you got to throw in
the 500
yes
Apostle Paul gave us a list
of people who saw Jesus Christ
after the resurrection
and we read about this in 1 Corinthians
chapter 15 verses 3
through 8 Paul said
for I delivered unto you first all, that which I also received,
how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day
according to the Scriptures, and that he was seen of Cephas,
which is Peter, then of the twelve.
After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once.
Yes.
Of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
After that, he was seen of James, then of all the apostles. And last of all, he was seen of me also as a one born out of due time.
And Paul said, I was born at the wrong time.
I got in late.
You know, but look at who he said.
He said, he was seen by Peter.
He was seen by 500 brethren at one time.
And Paul said at the time that he wrote this to the church in Corinth,
he said, most of those people are still alive today.
Now, some of them have died.
Once again, 500 people lived many years I can imagine those little church meetings,
decades, decades after the resurrection, hey, aren't you, aren't you, aren't you one of the
people that saw Jesus after the resurrection? Yes, I am, tell me, tell us about it, would you
please stand up in the, in our meeting, and just tell us, we. Would you please stand up in our meeting and just tell us?
We want to hear that story again.
What did he look like?
What did he say?
What was your reaction when you saw him alive?
Those people lived for many years.
And they told that story over and over and over.
So it's my view.
Again, the Bible doesn't tell us.
It's just my opinion that many of those 500 went to Galilee.
There ain't no way you're going to keep those people from seeing Jesus.
That was a secret that you couldn't keep secret.
Right. that was a secret that you couldn't keep secret right so
it says he went
Jesus
they went into a mountain
they went to a mountain
they didn't go into the mountain
you know when we go to the mountains
we say hey I was in the mountains
they didn't go into a cave.
They were in the mountains.
But they went to a particular mountain.
It was a familiar location that Jesus had used many times for teaching and prayer.
The mountain is not identified in the Bible, most likely so that we would not turn it into a religious shrine.
Right.
Which we have a tendency to do, don't we?
And if it's not in the Bible, we'll just pretend it is and find a spot and set up a shrine.
Yeah.
Yeah, human nature somehow wants to go to the place,
even though the place is named here.
Doc, I was so disappointed later.
When you and I went to Bethlehem and we each had time to go to Jerusalem,
we went separately I went
alone I missed I missed a your trip into Jerusalem so I went the next day by
myself but I remember you know I had a I had a tour guide to help me work.
And I remember him telling me, now this place, this is in Jerusalem.
This spot right here, there was some type of shrine there.
He said, this is where Mary laid down on the ground and died.
This spot right here.
And I'm standing there thinking,
wow,
I'm,
I'm where Mary,
this is where she gave up her spirit.
She,
she left this earth right here.
This is the very place,
you know,
and you thinking this is,
this is very humbling to be at that very spot and of course there were all these different places this is where so-and-so did this
and then later you know a couple years later i discovered that roman uh emperor uh or hadrian that Roman emperor Hadrian built that city on top of the rubble.
Yes.
And what we think is Jerusalem is not Jerusalem.
It's a Roman city.
Yes.
Capitoline.
Yes.
They just guessed at where Mary died.
They just guessed at where Jesus walked.
And so Hadrian built the city on top of the rubble of Jerusalem.
Of course, Jerusalem was totally destroyed to fulfill Jesus' prophecy about that.
It was totally destroyed in 70 AD.
They turned every stone upside down.
They did everything.
They plowed it under.
There was nothing left but rubble, just like Jesus said it would be. So for 80 years, that's two times 40, for 80 years,
the landscape of Jerusalem
was only for buzzards, basically. Buzzards
and beetles. And then in about
150, Hadrian, Emperor Hadrian, authorized
the construction of a city that he named after one of his wives.
And that became a Roman city.
And if you go there today, those streets that you're walking on, they weren't the original streets at all.
They were the city that Hadrian built, and he did not rebuild Jerusalem. you're walking on they aren't they weren't the original streets at all they were there the the
the city that hadrian built and he did not rebuild jerusalem let's make that clear he did not rebuild
jerusalem he built a different a roman pagan city yes so you know every year several times a year
you'll read news articles about archaeologists discovering something in Jerusalem.
Does it ever occur to people that if these archaeologists had to dig down deep to discover something,
that that perhaps might be where the real city is located?
What's up on top?
If what's on top is the city,
why are you digging down looking for the city?
Now, see, the logic just tells you
the real city is under the present day city.
So I'm just telling you that
because I don't know
why I'm telling you that. I had that story.
These
they went to the
mountain.
I think my personal, oh I know
why I said, I said the Bible, the Bible
doesn't tell us the name of the mountain because we turn it into a shrine.
So we don't know which mountain in Galilee.
My guess is, right, you know, my guess is it was the Mount of Beatitudes.
Right. That wasn't a name at the time, but it's where Jesus took his disciples to the mountain and presented the Beatitudes, the constitution of the kingdom.
Right.
And why do I think it's the Mount of Beatitudes?
I think he took them back to where it all started.
Right.
You have a bookend to the ministry, if you will.
Yes.
We're starting here.
We're finishing here.
It was where he launched the kingdom.
And now he's relaunching the kingdom. He's relaunching the kingdom for the duration of time until he comes
back. So it's reasonable to assume he gathered his disciples on the Mount of Beatitudes to instruct
them on the next phase of the kingdom. I can imagine him saying,
now, three and a half years ago,
we gathered here,
and I gave you the laws of my kingdom.
Now I'm going to teach you more
about the kingdom.
This is where he,
I believe he commissioned
the disciples,
which is what this is all about.
The appearance.
This appearance in Galilee occurred after multiple post-resurrection appearances in Jerusalem. Jerusalem various accounts of in the in the in the gospel about the resurrected
Christ seen by others Mary Magdalene the disciples on the road to Emmaus as we
said several times they did not go to Galilee right away.
They did not arrive in Galilee until eight days after the resurrection of Jesus.
Here's how I know.
John 20 verse 19.
Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week,
when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled,
for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the mist and said unto them,
Peace be unto you.
You get a time marker.
Right.
And, Rick, if you'll permit me,
I actually have a timeline
that shows all the appearances of Jesus
after the resurrection here.
If you'd like to hear it,
let me pull it up.
Can you put it on the screen?
Yes, I can.
So there it is.
So if you see this it has all the uh various uh appearances after the
resurrection there and so where we're at right now is likely right here this is eight days after
the resurrection this is uh did the reference there you know john 20 that you just mentioned There are other appearances of Jesus afterwards, but they are not included in the Matthew narrative.
Why Matthew chose to do that i think it had to do with who matthew's audience was and that was mainly
uh synagogue jews and so uh there was no reason to include the other information because this was
what was uh primary for them to understand and know so but anyway i thought I'd share that with you. So just to make sure everybody sees, put your cursor on the spot where we're at.
Right here.
In time.
Okay, but the gathering at Galilee is the next one over.
Yes.
There, that one right there right so he appeared he appeared and then
the this particular gathering that we're mentioning here in matthew 28 happens right here
yes and it's confirmed in first corinthians 15 6 as well uh that you had alluded to there a few minutes ago.
But anyway,
if anyone would like this, I'll be glad
to send it to you and
that way you have it for
a reference at some point in the future.
So let me drop out
of this. Here we go.
Anyway, it's good to have
some picture in your mind about all these events
because sometimes we confuse them and put them all in the same bucket. But there was extended
appearances of Jesus, you know, over those 40 days, instruction that Jesus gave. And this is
one of those instruction markers right here in Matthew chapter 28.
I often wonder, Doc, where was he and what was he doing when he was alone during those 40 days?
I mean, most of the time he was alone.
Where was he and what was he doing while he was alone
yes
don't know do we
we do not know
just don't know
and
yeah go ahead
and the thing is
the Lord didn't think we needed it so
i i guess i would say well it was personal between him and his father
yes private private information privileged privileged information
uh so the the main thing here is that Galilee was a familiar place.
It had a, there was a warm spot in his heart for Galilee.
Many of his disciples were in Galilee.
Galilee is associated with Gentiles.
Galilee of the Gentiles, Matthew 4, 15.
So it was a familiar stomping grounds.
You know, he had been there many times with his disciples.
It was serene, calm, peaceful, and unlike Jerusalem.
You're not going to be able to have this meeting in Jerusalem.
You had to get everybody away from the Jews in Jerusalem.
Isn't that a sad commentary?
Yeah.
So sad.
So the purpose of the meeting was significant.
It is the setting for the Lord to commission his disciples,
to impart his authority to them, to send them out to the nations,
to make disciples.
And again, that's why I think it was uh the mount of beatitudes verse 17
and when they saw him they worshiped him but some doubted
they worshiped him it it means they fell prostrate in reverence.
They fell down to the ground and worshiped him, recognizing his divine nature, his lordship.
This is the resurrected son of God.
Yes.
This is no longer our fishing buddy, our teacher.
This is the Son of God.
He has come back from the dead.
So there's a significant shift in their perception of Jesus.
He's gone from teacher, master, rabbi.
He's now the glorified
risen son of God
and so they offered supreme worship
there's a pivotal
pivotal
change
in the relationship with Jesus
post resurrection
yet but some doubted what's up with these people the Greek word for doubt is
a distazio yep just not so yes did this Distazo. Distazo, yes. The pronunciation I saw, Doc, has a D in it.
Distazo.
Okay.
Strong's G, 1365.
Distazo.
Distazo.
There you go.
That's how I learned.
Good.
Very good.
What tool do you use, Doc?
That's in Blue Letter Bible.
That'll do that for you.
It'll actually pronounce the Greek words for you.
And so it's a great tool for preachers and so for anybody, really.
Anybody.
Isn't it great to live in a day and age where you don't have to learn the entire language to get an understanding of the language?
Everybody else already did it for you.
Yes.
So, distazo, the Greek word translated as doubted, it means to waver, to hesitate.
It means, it's not disbelief.
No, that's right.
It's not disbelief.
It's hesitation, uncertainty, like, what?
I'm not so sure about this i gotta think about this it's not no way you on he is that is not a that man that's not jesus he didn't come back to no that's not what it was it
was a hesitation they were having trouble processing this right
um so why were they having trouble recognizing jesus in his glorified state
or were they having trouble reconciling his majestic presence
in contrast with their previous experiences of him
was there something obviously different about his his aura his his outward appearance? I would believe so. Did he look differently?
I mean, was there any changes physically in his appearance?
The hesitation may have been linked to being overwhelmed.
Just too much awe.
Too much spectacular change to process quickly.
Where they say, this is too good to be true?
Sometimes people
will not believe something
true.
It's really, really good
because they're afraid
they're going to be disappointed.
They want it to be true,
but they hold back
because they're afraid they're going to be disappointed. I don't want to be true, but they hold back because they're afraid they're going to be disappointed.
Like, I don't want to be told later, that's not Jesus.
Right.
I'm trying to figure out all the reasons why some doubt it.
It was like they were guarding their minds,
guarding their hearts.
Like, I don't want to believe something
and then be told that he didn't rise from the dead.
Right.
I'm going to wait.
I'm going to wait.
I need this.
I need to process this.
I got to figure this out before I say, yes,
Jesus Christ is alive.
And I don't think it bothered Jesus. He knows humans. He knows how we think.
He was aware. He'll be patient with them.
You'll figure this out.
You'll come around.
And when you do, you'll be on fire.
Now, it's possible. We're the doubters.
Yeah, go ahead.
Well, and it's entirely possible that the ones who doubted
may have been those that, you know,
the other disciples that you were talking about.
We know that the 11 were there. Thomas doubted until he saw the scars of Christ, and that happened
prior to this event. So he had already worked through his doubt. Right. And so there might
have been others, other disciples that worked through their doubt, because even on the day that Jesus ascended, they were still asking some disciples, not of the 11 necessarily, but some disciples were asking, will you now set up the kingdom?
And so they were still processing information.
And we got a resurrected guy here.
He had talked about a kingdom before
uh so yeah there was uh some doubt that had crept in um yeah i in my heart i don't think it was of
the 11 i think other disciples that died that doubted this we may found out in eternity that
uh that's not the case but all right i'm glad you brought that up, Doc, because
if you say only the 11 were there in Galilee, then the doubters had to be among the 11.
Right. But if you say, hey, it's reasonable to assume that a good portion of the 500 also went to galilee then you can say sure okay out of that 500
group of disciples there were some doubters so i go with the the view that
that much of the group of 500 also went out to galilee right and that's why they were from Galilee. That's another thing to consider too.
Yes. They were locals. They were locals. Hey, did you hear the news? They crucified Jesus.
He came back to life and he's out here somewhere in Galilee. He's probably over there on the
mountain. Hey, now you can understand why some people would doubt, right? Okay.
You mean he's here?
You mean he's at that mountain over there?
Yeah.
Jesus is over there. Let's go.
I don't believe it.
Well, seeing is believing, brother.
Let's go see.
Especially if they didn't even know about the crucifixion.
Right.
I mean, they didn't have internet.
They didn't have internet. They didn't have newspapers.
I mean, there were people living in Galilee who didn't know about the crucifixion.
So now you're telling me, okay, they had a trial.
They executed Jesus.
They hung him on a cross.
He died.
They buried him.
And then he came back to life.
And now he walked out to Galilee.
Right.
Yeah.
There were people that doubted.
And there's a couple other pieces of information here, too, that kind of gives us a little broader understanding of this.
Remember, when Jesus appeared to the disciples on the road to Emmaus,
they didn't recognize it.
And then Jesus appeared to the disciples on the seashore.
They were out fishing.
They saw somebody on the beach, but they didn't recognize Jesus.
They didn't recognize it as Jesus.
And so these are... Well, Doc, at the tomb, Mary thought he was a gardener.
Right.
And so now that doesn't mess my theology up at all.
Maybe that glorified body that was resurrected took on a new form of some kind and so
uh that even human eyes were having trouble uh comprehending and so uh maybe that's why the lord
has to resurrect everybody every eye shall see him every eye because then we'll truly see Jesus in all of his glory. Both sinner and saint will see him.
I had never thought about this, that his glorified,
his resurrected body had a different physical appearance.
You know, I've never been dead and come alive,
so I don't have anything to compare it to, Doc.
Right.
And I haven't met too many resurrected people yet either. Right.
But what we see here is humans need reassurance, and often their faith grows gradually and that's okay yes and jesus knows
he knows that some people need reassurance some people need time for their faith to grow
that's what discipleship is about that's why why we study the word. Our faith grows.
You don't just start with super faith.
Your faith grows as you study the word, as you get closer to the Lord.
So, this encounter is to prepare his disciples for their apostolic mission.
That's what this is all about.
Right.
Verse 18.
And Jesus came
and spake unto them, saying,
All power is given unto me
in heaven and in earth.
The Greek word power is given unto me in heaven and in earth
all right the Greek word exousia did I say it right doc you got it I did it okay exousia it means authority authority both the right and the power to rule.
So you can have the right to rule but no power to do it,
or you could have power and no right.
That happens to a lot of earthly political figures.
Sometimes they have the right to be a king
and they have no power to carry out their kingship.
Others have no right to be a king
and yet they use physical might and power to rule.
Jesus said,
I have all exousia, all authority.
I have the right and the power to rule and my
authority is comprehensive it is absolute it spans all realms heaven and
earth my kingdom covers heaven and earth heavenly realms I have command over angels I have command over
the divine governance of all spiritual affairs I have authority over human
lives I have authority over human society I have authority and power to rule over creation.
I am the head of my church.
I am the savior of humanity.
This is all in his statement, all power and authority.
All, not most of it, not some of it.
All, his father delegated unto him all power yes this is delegation from his
father he said all power is given unto me he was given unto him by somebody who
was qualified to give it. Yes.
His father.
So this phrase reflects the universality of the reign of Jesus Christ,
his ascension to his father's right hand,
his enthronement as the supreme king,
with all things subject to his rule and this exaltation fulfills all
Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah
yes
particularly look in the book of Daniel
Daniel 7
so this the resurrection the resurrection is the
turning point where his divine authority as mediator between man and God is fully
real revealed and exercised he has now come into his place yes he's in it this is what he's for
this is why his father has destined him to become the mediator between God and
mankind right mediator between God and mankind. Right.
So this authority is linked to his incarnation at Bethlehem,
God in human flesh.
It's linked to his obedience unto death. It's linked to his obedience unto death.
It's linked to his victory over sin and death.
And he had this authority before his death.
Yes.
Remember, he said, I could call down legions of angels.
But he didn't exercise it.
That's right.
So in understanding this, you know, Jesus didn't have to wait for that authority to be given to him.
It was already given to him.
And likewise, we're not waiting for Jesus to have some sort of new authority granted to him in the future either.
Whereas the dispensationalists would say, well, there's coming a day where he will be king.
And it's implied that Jesus is not yet king.
Listen, when the queen died here, was it last year or the year before last? I can't remember now.
I think it was last year.
When the queen died,
Charles became king when she died.
Now, they didn't have the coronation that day.
They didn't have all the pomp and circumstance
of the grand celebration of coronation,
but by virtue of the death of the queen,
he became king.
And so we're not waiting for Jesus
to become a king.
He was a king at this moment in time.
All authority.
What he was waiting for, Doc,
was the removal of limitations
on his kingship.
Yes.
Before the cross, he was limited on earth by his father.
He's in total submission to his father.
He's teaching us, this is how you live.
This is the way you you obey your father you
submit to your father and everything after the after the resurrection the father has removed
all limitations he said go for it son you're now reigning and ruling. Yes. Run the universe. Everything is yours.
Why?
Because his son completed the mission.
His son got the prize.
He took the keys of hell and death from Satan.
So he's showing us here that his authority has been conferred upon him in
his role as the incarnate Son of God and the mediator between man and God so it's
highlighting his obedience and his fulfillment of the father's plan for our
Redemption his authority he did not use sir authority from his father right his
father granted it to him
as the reward for the culmination of his.
Redemptive work on the cross.
Amen.
And that establishes his right to send his disciples into the world.
And to promise eternal life in his name.
He has the authority to do it.
And so he's laying the authority for the Great Commission, which comes next.
Verse 19, go ye therefore and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore connects this command to Jesus's declaration of universal authority.
He's saying all power and authority has been given to me.
Therefore, now that I have all power and authority, I am commanding you to go into all the world.
Yes.
Here's the first instruction
to the universal church.
What did we study yesterday?
The women who went to the tomb,
he said, go tell the brethren.
Go tell.
Now it's go ye therefore.
Yes.
Go, go go go there is no justification for not going somewhere
that doesn't mean physically going somewhere it means going in the power and the authority of the
name of jesus to proclaim his. You can go into this day.
Go into this day.
Go into the workplace.
Go into school, college.
Go somewhere today and proclaim his lordship.
So Jesus makes the statement, all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.
Therefore.
So there's a logical reasoning here he's made the statement
and now the therefore is there again and there's an old preacher joke you got to ask why the
therefore what what's it there for um you know well so all that authority that rests in Jesus, then he gives the instruction to his disciples,
go and teach all nations or teach all heathen, if you will.
Remember, Jesus, the heathen, is his inheritance, according to Psalm 2.
But the disciples now, because that authority that Jesus has,
he's actually granting us that authority in the going.
Yes.
And all nations includes the state of Israel.
Yes.
The American church will not go to Israel and preach the gospel and make disciples of them.
And if you're brave enough to go there and preach Jesus, you'll be arrested.
Because converting Jews in the state of Israel to Christianity is a crime.
It's also a crime in Muslim nations to convert Muslims to Christian faith.
That doesn't negate the law.
The law, the commandment is go.
Persecution is simply the byproduct of obeying the commandment.
Yes.
It's just part of the job.
You're going to be persecuted in some places.
So this is a proactive instruction.
It's not passive.
All disciples are called to actively engage with the world to make disciples of all nations.
It's universal in scope.
It's inclusive.
It covers every single nation, every tribe.
He canceled all previous restrictions.
He'd given his disciples restrictions previously.
Remember, at first he said, you know, I'm sent to the people of Israel.
Don't go into Samaria all those restrictions have now been rescinded yes all nations it's the same all words you it the same word that's
used in Matthew chapter 25 verse 32 where all nations will appear before the Lord in judgment at the end of the age.
Yes.
Same word.
To teach all nations.
To teach all nations.
Okay.
To teach all nations.
That's the instruction.
To teach.
What are we doing right now?
We're teaching.
All of us right now, we are fulfilling this commandment.
We're teaching.
You are learning so that you can teach.
Yes.
This is really important.
Doc and I have not spent a year teaching the word to you
so that you keep it to yourself you have been taught so that you can teach right so you you
make that transition from disciple which means learner to apostle which means sent one so and the sent jesus is sending right here he's sound you got to go
you you this is your graduation here you you're no longer disciples you are now sent once
yes so we we are to teach all nations. We are to make disciples. Make them.
When you make something, you deliberately mold and build something.
You make disciples.
We are making disciples for Christ.
And what does that involve? Teaching.
Explaining the message of the gospel.
Baptizing. Continuous instruction. explaining the message of the gospel, baptizing,
continuous instruction and spiritual development.
All that is involved in discipleship.
It's an ongoing process. You never stop your improvement as a disciple.
You're always becoming a better disciple.
But that is so for two reasons,
that your relationship with Christ is deeper.
And number two, that you may bring in others
and teach them.
Baptizing them in the name
yes
baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the
holy ghost
that's the name of God the name of God
the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost
we are to baptize them in the name
it indicates
it tells us that we are entering into a relationship
with the Trinity Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
There are denominations that do not fulfill this instruction.
And they build an entire denomination around disobeying it yes
and they'll say we baptize only in the name of Jesus
but Jesus said baptized in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit I
don't know what the point is.
I don't get it.
I just don't get it.
I don't either.
But there are some really influential people out there.
T.D. Jakes is one of them who does not believe in the Trinity.
There are others.
One who was the Bible prophecy teacher that passed away, the pastor.
Host of politics and religion.
Yes.
I interviewed him many times.
Really nice man.
He did not believe in the Trinity.
But it's what Jesus said.
I never understood this thing about the denial of the Trinity.
Who was Jesus praying to when he was on earth?
If there's no Trinity, who was he praying to?
And who did he send?
I mean, it's just so, it's so simple.
There's equal divinity, co-equality of three persons of the Trinity.
It's the essential Christian doctrine, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Again, we are to teach, we are to lead people to to faith and then build their faith
our faith is built through hearing the word
and if nobody teaches the word the faith of people will not grow it takes hearing the word taught and preached to build your faith
notice the instructional is not preached the gospel it is to teach the gospel
preaching is absolutely biblical I don't misunderstand me
it is essential that the gospel
be taught
the preaching is like
that's like the
the public announcement
hey
you need to hear this come on in
but when you get inside then the teachers take over The public announcement, hey, you need to hear this. Come on in.
But when you get inside, then the teachers take over.
I know a lot of churches that are heavy on preaching, heavy, heavy, heavy on preaching, and light on teaching.
Right.
And I know churches that are heavy on teaching and light on preaching
it takes both it takes both uh the preacher is like the salesman
the evangelist the evangelist is like the salesman he's going out to advertise the product
and to bring the prospects in
but once you get an inside you have to you have to what do you do in a business you gotta you got to make them a customer if how many how many
businesses know they lose customers because the customer never learned how
to use the product yeah and it's taught it it's taught in business classes once
you get the customer you have to teach the customer how to use
your product or service or you're going to lose
that customer
and so that
happens with churches
they get the people in and then they never
teach them Christianity
yes
they're just focusing on getting more people in
and then you have this turn.
They come in and they leave.
They come in and they leave.
Well, you have to disciple them.
And so discipleship begins with teaching
and that leads to faith.
And eventually they will be baptized.
When they understand what they've gotten into.
Now, a lot of denominations put teaching before baptism.
Although in the book of Acts, baptism came first.
They got baptized.
They believed and then they were baptized.
Somewhere along the line over years
churches changed the formula
and they said oh well you got to go to catechism class
you got to pass all these courses
then you can be baptized
well what if you die before you get to that point
yes
why not get them in the water right away
get them in the water and then tell them why they got in the water.
I mean, that's the way I see it, Doc.
Get them in the water and then teach them why they got in the water.
So, Rick, when you gave your heart to the Lord,
the same day you were
baptized right I baptized the same day did I do it wrong no I didn't they got
me to the creek the same day
and I think the Lord arranged it like that because he said, I'm not going to let this rascal get away.
We're going to get him in the creek on the same hour,
and hours later on the same day.
That's the biblical way, in my viewpoint, because it's in the book of Acts.
I believe the discipleship comes after they they have believed and they've been baptized then the discipleship starts the teaching starts right but get them in
hey sign the dotted line sign the contract believe and jump in the water and then teach them yeah now
we're going to show you what you got into and don't mess with the sales presentation yes follow
the script isn't that the toughest thing a sales person has to do is following the script yeah they all
salesmen always want to change the script that works they want to add their
own little thing to it I was just it worked it's been working for 2,000 years
um
so we get to the final
Oh that was it wasn't it
Is that the last verse
I guess it was
Is there one more verse doc
Nope
Verse 20
Teaching them to observe all things
I have commanded you
Teaching them To observe all things I have commanded you.
Teaching them to observe. To observe means to obey.
And that's part of that.
Therefore, because he has that authority, now you go and you make disciples,
baptize those disciples, and then teach those disciples.
To observe. Observe means to obey. To teach and obey, to teach them to obey. See,
what are we teaching them? You know, denominational doctrine, no. You're teaching them to obey what Jesus said.
You're not teaching them the ways of your denomination.
You're teaching them to obey.
The emphasis is on obeying.
The purpose of the class is to teach you the necessity, the requirement of obeying what Jesus said.
Right.
How do I say this?
All right.
Again, the emphasis is on, in the teaching, is on the necessity of obedience.
So you can teach people what Jesus said, and they'll pass the test.
Give them a test.
Yep, they got it all right.
But did you teach them to obey?
Yes.
And there's where a lot of Bible teaching goes wrong.
They don't teach people to obey.
They just teach them to know.
He didn't say teach them to know what I said.
A lot of people know what he said.
He said teach them to observe, to obey what I said.
If you love me, you'll keep my commandments.
It just astounds me, Doug.
And you know this
from decades of ministry
when you're talking privately
with Christians.
It astounds me.
People who just flat out,
I mean, they'll confess Christ. They'll go to church. They'll do all the things, check off all the boxes and just flat out, I mean, they'll confess Christ.
They'll go to church.
They'll do all the things, check off all the boxes, and just flat out say,
I disagree with that scripture.
You see, that's the direct words of Jesus Christ.
Well, I disagree with it.
What do you mean you disagree?
Well, I believe you you're I
don't believe the way you do I believe what he said yeah well I don't believe
what you think but I'm thinking what he said I'm telling you you have to accept
what he said well I don't see it that way and i'm like oh my oh my you're going
around and around in circles with him and you're like do you understand that you're you are calling
jesus christ a liar do you understand that you're saying that you are not obligated to obey him
are you saying that he has his opinion and you've got yours
that's what they're saying
that's what they're saying
Jesus has his opinion I've got mine
but I'm going to claim to be a Christian
Christian Christ like
you're not Christ like until you obey him
if you got anything out of this You're not Christ-like until you obey him.
If you got anything out of this, this one year, if you got anything out of this for one year, it is the necessity to obey Christ.
That's what this is about. When I was a young man, when I was working for Pat Robertson at CBN,
this would have been in the mid-80s, I would say.
I was in 1980, it's 1985.
I had the opportunity to sit with Dr. Charles Stanley for almost two hours in his office at First Baptist Church in Atlanta Georgia he gave me an impromptu meeting I was
wrestling with something a major decision that I had to make
um I had to make.
I was probably 32 years old.
I had a major decision I had to make. And I was on a business trip in Atlanta
and I'm driving a rental car
and I'm going down the street on peach tree
and I go that looks like Charles Stanley's church on tv I turned around and went back
because that that is his first first baptist church and I went in I walked in and
went into the it was an old church or, or he went into the executive office,
walked up to the secretary and said,
she goes, can I help you?
And I said, yes, I need to talk to Dr. Stanley.
And she looked at me, you talk about like,
you know, pulling the reading glasses down
and looking up, you know, and she goes,
yeah, you and 10 million other people.
And she goes, do you have an appointment i said no no i just need to talk to him
well young man you can't come in here and just walk in to see dr stanley
i said i know but i need to talk to him and she was doing her best to get rid of me. And then these big, tall wooden doors opened,
and I heard that unmistakable Southern Georgia voice
that just oozed with Southern grace.
And I heard the words, young young man what do you need and I
said dr. Stanley I need your advice and he looked over at his secretary and said
let him in
I wanted to look at her go I got him got in, you know, but I didn't do it. Okay.
I stayed calm.
I stayed cool.
I went in, told him what I was wrestling with.
He gave me almost two hours, doc.
The man was the president of the Southern Baptist Convention that year.
Wow.
And he, I'm telling you, he was one of the most gracious men I've ever met in my life. Baptist convention that year. Wow.
I'm telling you, he was one of the most gracious men I've ever met in my life.
I have nothing but just the warmest thoughts
about that day.
Here's where I'm going with it.
At the end, he was a big guy.
He was tall, Doc. I remember he was a tall man
when I was ready to leave he stood up and I'm looking up at him
and his last words were, young man, obey God.
I'll never forget it.
I'll never forget it.
The last words he spoke to me was, young man, obey God.
Charles Stanley knew the importance of obedience.
And his entire ministry was focused on teaching people to obey God.
He did say one more thing.
He said,
Rick, this is probably going to cost you a lot
and I said yes sir
I understand
because he knew that obedience came with a price
obedience comes with a price tag
so as we end
our study of Matthew then this is what I want to say to you. If there's
anything you remember about me saying in my entire, if you're here 20, 30 years from now,
I want you to remember me saying, obey God. Praise God. Obey God.
That's the lesson I want you to take from the study of Matthew.
Obey him.
If you love him, obey him.
Keep his commandments.
It's up to you to study the commandments. My responsibility is to teach you to obey the commandments.
Teaching you the commandments is secondary to teaching you to obey the commandments.
The primary instruction is to teach you the necessity to obey the commandments.
Yes.
Actually, teaching the commandments is secondary the first
priority is teaching the necessity to obey the commandments teach them to
observe all that I say
okay hey we'll be back here tomorrow
for the next day or two we'll just we'll just go as the Holy
Spirit leads if you have prayer requests and you haven't sent them to doc please
do so we'd also like to know what this one-year Bible study has done for you
what it's meant to you and send them to doc and we and we'll start reading them tomorrow.
Amen.
We'll be praying for the sick, all right?
Amen.
And once again, we appreciate you spending this year with us here
as we've journeyed through Matthew.
It's just been an incredible year,
and I pray that you have learned a thing or two along the way.
And as Rick said, we'll be here for the next couple days.
And so, you know, even though the class itself is ending, we're going to be doing kind of a recap and prayer request over the next few days.
So don't hesitate to join us.
Same time and everything, 8 a.m. on the East Coast on faithinvalues.com
in case you're listening on one of the other social media platforms out there.
You know, Doc, when you go to college or high school and you graduate,
you've got to get a job.
That's right. All right. when you graduate, you got to get a job.
That's right.
All right.
The purpose of the education is to prepare you for work.
Right.
Okay.
So you've graduated from this study in Matthew.
God has worked for you.
He has worked for you.
He has worked for you today.
You passed.
You passed the course. You passed. You passed the course.
You graduated.
You stayed in the course for 12 months.
You graduated.
You got your certificate.
Now you got to go to work.
Yes.
Ask him today,
what do you want me to do with all that I've learned
in the past 12 months?
And watch what happens.
Amen.
Well, praise the Lord.
Thank you so much for joining us today
for this final edition of Morning Manna.
And we're looking forward to starting the new year.
We'll be going into the Book of Romans,
so be watching for us for announcements for that.
And we love you very much.
We've learned a lot from each other this year.
And so now let's celebrate and get to work.
Amen.
Amen.
All right.
God bless you.
And join us later on the Godcast. And once again, if you have prayer requests or have any comments about morning manna or questions, send them my way.
And a lot of you have. I've had about 100 responses to the healing request.
And so we'll be praying for folks for healing this week as well.
And might need to do a micro lesson on faith before we do that.
And so stay tuned in all the rest of this week.
Amen.
Any final words, Rick?
Nope.
Just goodbye.
I go.
All right.
God bless you.
Thank you, everybody.
See you tomorrow.
