TRUNEWS with Rick Wiles - President Trump Slams Zelensky for Sinking Peace Talks

Episode Date: April 23, 2025

President Trump slammed Ukrainian President Zelensky after U.S.-led peace talks collapsed when Kyiv rejected territorial concessions involving Crimea and other regions. Trump accused Zelensky of riski...ng Ukraine’s future by refusing the deal and warned the U.S. may walk away. The proposed agreement included U.S. recognition of Crimea as Russian, a NATO freeze, sanctions relief for Moscow, and European-led security guarantees for Ukraine. In response, Zelensky insisted Ukraine won’t negotiate territorial matters without a ceasefire. As tensions rise, global officials, including Poland’s foreign minister, criticize Russia’s aggression, while China pursues a lunar nuclear project and rare earth sanctions disrupt global supply chains.Rick Wiles, Doc Burkhart. Starting point is 00:01:27 last minute. This time, the peace deal that the White House was supposed to announce this week, maybe tomorrow. President Trump is furious with the former comedian and has some very strong words for Mr. Zelensky today. So this is True News for Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Let's begin our news analysis and commentary with this NBC News report. High-profile Ukraine peace talks collapse after Marco Rubio and Steve Witkoff pull out. This is one of the
Starting point is 00:02:06 earliest articles I saw this morning after Morning Manna and when I pulled this up doc I knew Zelensky did it. He did it again. Yes. And President Trump clearly told Mr. Witittkopf and Secretary Rubio, just leave. Don't give him the time of day. Walk out. Right. And so NBC said high-level talks aimed at bringing a pause in fighting in Ukraine disintegrated Wednesday after Secretary Steve Rubio and envoy Steve Steve Witkoff pulled out, dealing a blow to Kiev's hopes for a short-term peace agreement.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Dr. Vince Nemeth, senior lecturer in the Defense Studies Department at King's College London, said, quote, the downgrading is significant, because it's completely collapsed. And then BBC reporting, Vice President Vance says the US will walk away unless Ukraine and Russia agree to proposals. Yes. So Vice President JD Vance said the US would walk away unless Ukraine and Russia agree an ideal,
Starting point is 00:03:24 echoing recent comments from other U.S. officials. His warning came after the London talks between officials from the U.K., France, Germany, Ukraine and the U.S. to secure a ceasefire were downgraded. I like the way they're wording this, a downgrading, after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff pulled out. We do have a some video of Vice President Vance speaking on this topic. Let's watch. We've issued a very explicit proposal to both the Russians and the Ukrainians and
Starting point is 00:03:57 it's time for them to either say yes or for the United States to walk away from this process. We've engaged in an extraordinary amount of diplomacy of of on-the-ground work. We've really tried to understand things from the perspective of both the Ukrainians and the Russians. What do Ukrainians care the most about? What do the Russians care the most about? And I think that we've put together a very fair proposal. We're gonna see if the Europeans, the Russians, and the Ukrainians are ultimately able to get this thing over the finish line. Again, I feel pretty optimistic about it. I think everybody has been negotiating in good faith, but it's now time, I think, to
Starting point is 00:04:30 take, if not the final step, one of the final steps, which is at a broad level, the party saying we're going to stop the killing, we're going to freeze the territorial lines at some level close to where they are today, and we're going to actually put in place the kind of long-term diplomatic settlement that hopefully will lead to long-term peace. Well, that was the vice president earlier today. But by this afternoon, President Trump had a different tone than Vice President Vance. Mr. Vance was trying to stay positive about it. Mr. Trump was anything but positive. You see the New
Starting point is 00:05:05 York Post headline, Trump gives Zelensky dire warning on Russia-Ukraine war, accept peace or risk losing the whole country. Yes, President Trump issued a stark warning to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on Wednesday saying Kiev's leader was in a dire situation and they can have peace or he can fight for another three years before losing his country. President Trump was responding to Zalinski's remarks telling reporters Tuesday that Ukraine will not legally recognize the Russian occupation of Crimea. But this is a key part of the U.S. proposed peace plan that was supposed to be under discussion in London today.
Starting point is 00:05:47 President Trump had this to say on True Social. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is boasting on the front page of the Wall Street Journal that Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea. There's nothing to talk about here. The statement is very harmful to the peace negotiations with Russia in that Crimea was lost years ago under the auspices of President Barack Hussein Obama and is not even a point of discussion. Nobody is asking Zelensky to recognize Crimea as Russian territory, but if he wants Crimea, why didn't they fight for it 11 years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot being fired?
Starting point is 00:06:25 The area also houses, for many years before the Obama handover, major Russian submarine bases. It's inflammatory statements like Zelensky's that makes it so difficult to settle this war. He has nothing to boast about. The situation for Ukraine is dire, and he can have peace, or he can fight for another three years before losing the whole country. I have nothing to do with Russia, but I have much to do with wanting
Starting point is 00:06:53 to save, on average, 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week who are dying for no reason whatsoever. Statement made by Zelensky today will do nothing but prolong the killing field. Nobody wants that We are very close to a deal, but the man with no cards to play should now finally get it done I look forward to being able to help Ukraine and Russia get out of this complete and total mess That would have never started if I were president So those are his remarks on true social, Rick.
Starting point is 00:07:25 The words no cards to play sums it up. Zelensky is, he's already defeated and he's trying to act like he's still in the game. And the game's over. You've lost. You have nothing left to fight with. You have no negotiating status. Cut a deal in the destruction of your country. The 5,000 men per week are dying. Just end it. And walk away and rebuild your country. But this guy, this guy's determined. How many times has he done this? At the last minute, he walks away. Or there's an announcement.
Starting point is 00:08:14 He signed the rare earth minerals deal. And then a week later, he hasn't signed it. And then he signed it again. And then this has been his pattern for months. Right, or sign a memorandum of understanding, which is not an agreement. It's just an agreement that we'll talk about, the agreement.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Precisely. And just keeps trying to finagle some other way, some other angle on this. Well, you know, there were reports back when President Biden was in the White House that President Biden. Oh, yeah, shouted with him, shouted at Zelensky. We hope he is. You can't work with this guy. Who do you think is behind the dock?
Starting point is 00:08:58 I think the Europeans are behind this. I think they that that Macron and Stammer and other leaders in Germany have been whispering in Zelensky's ears and saying, just hold out a little bit longer here. Come on, you'll get a better deal here. Well, three years ago when the war started, it started in February of 2022. By April, the Russians offered a plan to stop the war. Zelensky was ready to sign it,
Starting point is 00:09:27 and Boris Johnson flew to Kiev and begged him, don't sign it, we will back you in a war. Right, and then they were off to the races after that, weren't they? Yes, and so the European leaders, and of course they had the Biden administration supporting them, they had the Biden administration supporting them. They had Republicans like Lindsey Graham that wanted war with Russia. So they inflamed the situation.
Starting point is 00:09:55 Over three years of warfare now, hundreds of thousands of men. President Trump said 5,000 men per week are dying, counting on both sides. Terrible loss. For what purpose? Why did all these young men die? For what purpose? Parents lost their sons. Why?
Starting point is 00:10:13 So, warmongers can make a lot of money? So that the warmongers could deplete Russia's finances and military before a big war in the 2030s? Or there's something in Ukraine that is so valuable that they have to protect. And I think it has to do with some of the corruption that we're just now beginning to understand. But that's just part of it there. But we've been invested in this now for three years.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Donald Trump's trying to bring it to an end. And now, you know, he said to Rubio and said to Witkoff, just come on home. Let's let these guys sit on it and figure it out. See if they really want this or not. Okay, so we've got, before I have this discussion, I'll throw out a couple more articles here.
Starting point is 00:11:07 RBC Ukraine, Ukraine sets tough condition for territory discussions, says Reuters. What tough conditions? And who does he issue those to? To the European leaders. That's where he goes and runs in the story. Ukraine has prepared a document for Europe. And they're not in this. Regarding peace negotiation.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Europe, you don't have any cards in this either, Europe. It specified a clear condition for discussing the issues of territories. An unnamed source revealed that Ukraine handed over a document to Europe stating that no territorial discussions will take place until a full and unconditional ceasefire is achieved The source also clarified that after this it was after this that US Secretary of State
Starting point is 00:11:53 Rubio canceled his trip to London for talks with Ukraine France and the UK So that was the deal killer right there. Yes. Now the New York Post says they got a glimpse of the deal. Here's what Russia and Ukraine get in Trump's final offer peace deal, says the New York Post. Let's look at what Russia gets. Right. Formal U.S. recognition of Ukraine's Crimea Peninsula as Russian territory, a major departure from Washington's longstanding doctrine which refuses to acknowledge annexed
Starting point is 00:12:25 territories belonging to the seizing power. Also, de facto recognition of Russia's occupation of four regions in eastern Ukraine, meaning that the U.S. would acknowledge that Moscow controls the land. A pledge that the U.S. would not support Ukraine becoming a member of NATO. Now, Doc, let's look at what Ukraine gets. That's right. So, under this agreement, supposedly that the New York Post has already seen, assistance from European military forces as a robust security guarantee following a ceasefire. The US would not be involved in this measure. I'll finish reading here and we can comment on this.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Russia would return a small portion of Ukraine's Kharkov Oblast currently occupied by Moscow. They would also retain navigation rights in the Dnieper River, which runs along the front lines, and assistance in post-war rebuilding, though it is unclear where that funding would come from, probably from mental rights and things like that. But going back to that, the 7, I think it's 7C, where it talks about a European military force. If Vladimir Putin has agreed to that, that's a major concession by Russia. Yes. And that would be a big deal for the Russians
Starting point is 00:13:50 to allow that to happen. So I already see Russia making a major concession here and everything. And now Zelensky has said, well, nope, we're... We're going to reopen the 2014 issue of Crimea. Right. Now, here's where I'm confused, Doc. About an hour or two ago, Dmitry Medvedev posted on social media this statement. I'll let you read it.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Sure. He's, maybe he's sending this message to Donald Trump. Trump, Kiev's refusal to recognize Crimea as Russian harms negotiations to resolve the conflict. We've been waiting. I hope different European freaks like Starmor and Macron will hear this. And then the typhoid louse of Kiev, who is in narcotic oblivion, will be brought to life. There's a lot to unpack.
Starting point is 00:14:50 You gotta admit that Medvedev knows how to throw an insult out there. You're a Typhoid Louse of Kiev. In a narcotic stupor. Medvedev cracks me up. But Doc, he said President Trump is not recognizing. This is where I'm confused. Let's put it back up on the screen.
Starting point is 00:15:24 Trump's? No, it's Donald Trump is saying Kiev's refusal to recognize Crimea's foreign negotiations. Oh, I see. I see. All right. I thought he was saying Donald Trump was refusing. Right. Okay, now I get it.
Starting point is 00:15:38 I'm not confused. And I do get the typhoid louse. You just never want to be around Zelensky anymore after that label, do you? No. If someone calls you a typhoid louse, that's probably going to be it for social contact. But all kidding aside, this conflict can end today. It can end right now. The only one holding this up is the puppet of Vladimir Zelensky and the puppet masters
Starting point is 00:16:12 in Berlin, London, and Paris. They don't have what it takes to fight a world war. They want a world war, but they don't wanna fight it. They wanna get the US in it and do the fighting. Kinda like World War II and World War I. Yeah, Europe was losing both of those until the US stepped in. Americans had to go in and save their hides. Euronews, Poland's top diplomat decries Russia's war in Ukraine and says,
Starting point is 00:16:41 don't you have enough land? Yes. So this is by Euronews. In a wide-ranging speech to the lower house of the Polish parliament, Foreign Minister Władysław Sikorski criticized Russia's, what he's calling, fantasies of dominance. Poland's, excuse me, Foreign Minister Władysław Sikorski said, gave a scathing rebuke of Russia
Starting point is 00:17:03 over its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, asking, don't you have enough land? And it goes on in that quote, don't you have enough land? 11 time zones and still not enough? Take care of better governing what is within your borders according to international law, he said. Anxiety and the question of what will happen have settled into Polish homes. Are we also at risk of Russian aggression? Are the relations between Europe and the US heading towards a crisis? Can Europe quickly improve its defense capabilities?" Sikorsky added.
Starting point is 00:17:37 So they're still intent on making Russia the big boogie man out there. One of these days, somebody's gonna figure out if they partner with Russia, Europe prospers, Russia prospers, everybody prospers in a situation like that, but they haven't figured that out yet. No, what I see here, Doc, is that the European leaders are starting to get scared.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Like Poland. Poland was living peacefully with Russia. And then in the last two years, they got goofy, started talking about hosting nuclear weapons on their territory, bringing in the NATO military bases to attack the Russians in Ukraine. And now they're afraid. They're afraid of what they've created. And they're like, as you said, our relations between Europe and the United States headed towards a crisis. What's the crisis?
Starting point is 00:18:37 The crisis is maybe the US isn't going to fight for you now that you started this fight with the Russian bear? Right. That's, they're scared now. They went and socked a bear in the kisser. And now the bear is growling. Yes. And they're looking for the United States to protect them. Right.
Starting point is 00:19:02 And then they threaten the bear and say, you just wait five years from now, I'm going to be able to beat you up. Right. And then they threaten the bearers saying you just wait five years from now I'm gonna be able to beat you up. Right. There you are. This next article, this was a smooth, yes, very smooth move by the Russians. CNN gets first glimpse of Trump portrait reportedly sent from Putin. This was classic KGB operation to appeal to somebody's ego. And look at that image. Now, we'll have a video here in just a moment, but look at the image there. If you notice, you see Donald Trump with his fist raised in the air and got the image of the Statue of Liberty in the back there, American flag draped there.
Starting point is 00:19:49 They've got blood on his face. Yes. So that's a painting, that's not a photo. That's right. So we've got a video clip from CNN where they got a glimpse of this piece of art that was given to... It was actually given to Steve Witkoff, who then gave it to President Trump. Let's watch the CNN report. Well, this is the first glimpse of what we're told is a portrait gifted to President Trump by Vladimir Putin in March.
Starting point is 00:20:33 You can see the Russian artist who we met in Moscow was pretty kind, showing Trump looking heroic, even trim. He didn't break, he didn't get scared. even trim. The painting, handed to Trump envoy Steve Witkoff, was clearly meant to flatter as Trump and Putin discuss ending the Ukraine war and rebuilding ties. And apparently it worked. Witkoff said Trump was touched at what he called the beautiful portrait. Safronov is one of Russia's most famous artists and has painted dozens of world leaders before.
Starting point is 00:21:14 The late Pope Francis and of course, Vladimir Putin. The Trump painting, he told me, was commissioned by a patron he suspected was the Kremlin. Yeah, I realize this can bring our countries closer. Later he says he was contacted by President Putin himself, who told him the flattering Trump portrait was an important step in Russia's relationship with the United States. was an important step in Russia's relationship with the United States. I could make that with AI in two minutes.
Starting point is 00:21:57 We could all be Russian painters. But you know that this, listen, say what you want to about the Russians. They know diplomacy. You know, they've only been around a thousand years. They've probably figured out a thing or two along the way. But what do the Chinese do? They give you a panda bear. Yes, yeah. A lovable, huggable panda bear.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Remember, they used to do that a lot. They haven't done that for years. Like, if you were a political leader in the West, you'd get yourself a panda bear. And that was the way that they would get Western leaders to lower their guard during negotiations. Doc, before we move on to the Middle East, final comments about Zelensky sinking the peace talks.
Starting point is 00:22:50 That peace deal was supposed to be announced maybe tomorrow. Mr. Trump said on Monday, within three days. Today is Wednesday. I was expecting it to be announced Thursday or Friday. So Zelensky killed it at the last minute. So you've got various scenarios, positive and negative, how this thing could go. Mr. Zelensky could, during the night, wake up.
Starting point is 00:23:23 And there could be a CIA Gun pointed at his forehead and he says you know what I think I'll sign I Mean it could be over. I mean tomorrow. He could have a completely different attitude. Yes, and say okay. We're gonna do it We're gonna. We're gonna sign it But the other side is he he may continue to act like an idiot and Mr.. Trump could just wash his hands of it walk away and say it's not my war I
Starting point is 00:23:58 Didn't and still do a deal with Russia. Well. That's where I'm going He could say to to Putin do whatever you want to do. We're not going to get involved. He could tell the Europeans. Mr. Starmer in London, Mr. Mers in Berlin, Mr. Macron in Paris, you guys killed this peace deal. We're going to pull out of Ukraine.
Starting point is 00:24:24 We're not going to give them $1. We're not going to give them any ammunition. If you want to do it, you do it. You fight the Russians. But if the Russians attack you, we're not defending you as a NATO ally. You guys have sabotaged this peace deal. That could happen. And Mr. Trump could go on and sign a far ranging positive
Starting point is 00:24:50 agreement with Russia. You know, if you look on the map, Russia's bigger than Europe. Yes, more resources than Europe. But you're only dealing with one country. That's right. You're not dealing with, you know, what 30 odd countries that fight over the the price of cheese between their borders. No, you could just deal with Russia and have all these resources, have everything so simplified to work with. And you know who you're working with, you're working with Vladimir Putin. Right. And that could happen. That. I would say that's worst case scenario in terms of, for Europe and Ukraine. Now, in that worst case scenario, if Mr. Trump's washed his hands
Starting point is 00:25:36 off it and just said, I don't care what you do, you know, to the Russians, do what you gotta do. The Russians conceivably would say, we're not fighting these guys for another three years. Right. We're gonna wipe them out. And just be done with it? Right. And they'll lock down Ukraine. There goes Kiev with one One Moab
Starting point is 00:26:05 one Hypersonic missile that comes in will really see dead people and then it's gone And the Russians could take the attitude that Harry Truman took And said enough of our men have died. We're going to drop the atomic bomb on Japan and end this war because they were they'd already calculated how many Americans would die in an invasion of Japan right and Harry Truman said I'm not going to do it we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna use the atomic weapons that we developed and in the war and it did yes And the Russians may do this. They may just hit Kiev with a hypersonic missile, with a powerful non-nuclear explosion, obliterate the city, and then they go, there's
Starting point is 00:26:59 nobody here, there's no government here to negotiate with. They're all dead. That's the worst of the worst-case scenarios. And it's within the realm of possibility, because Zelensky is not a sensible, responsible leader of a nation. He's a former comedian, and he still acts like a clown. OK, so now let's go to the Middle East, but we'll come right back to Florida. Ben Gavir, one of the most radical extremists,
Starting point is 00:27:41 Zionists in Israel. Yes. Completely wacko. I mean, we're talking wacko-doodle Zionists, and Israel. Yes. Completely wacko. I mean, we're talking wacko-doodle Zionists. He wants all the Palestinians dead. He wants them dead. Oh, yes. He said that.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Yes. Children, all of them. He wants them dead. He spoke at Mar-a-Lago last night. Right. Well, you can't just walk into Mar-a-Lago and have a dinner party. I've been there a couple times by invitation.
Starting point is 00:28:09 Yes. And you can't lease a room without the Mar-a-Lago senior management signing off on it. Right. And you have to be, some member of Mar-a-Lago has to be the one who leases the facility. It's a private club. Now President Trump was not there. Right. But this was a dinner in Ben Gavir's honor last night. It sure was. And we've got some video of him being introduced. Right. So, National Security Minister Ben Gavir visited Mar-a-Lago, of course.
Starting point is 00:28:51 You see some of the video there of his appearance there last night. He also visited, as the headline suggested here, a prison, a gun store, an Israeli supermarket. An Israeli-Russian-owned gun store in Miami. Yes. Yeah, very interesting. And so, now, as Rick mentioned, President Trump was not in attendance, but a Ben Gavir spokesperson said the minister met with dozens of senior businessmen from Miami, and that statement added that Ben Gavir met with GOP House Majority Whip Tom Emmer.
Starting point is 00:29:25 And speaking with Emmer, Ben Gavir stated, "'We need to bomb Hamas's food storage facilities.'" Well, that just happens to coincide with Palestinian food storage facilities. Now, who in their right mind says, "'We need to bomb warehouses.'" Full of food. Full of food where people are already starving
Starting point is 00:29:47 Ben Gavir says it that's who says it and he he spoke at Marlago. Yes. Okay now I'm upset with Donald Trump No, see now I'm upset with him Because this tells me the mindset of the Trump people that they think Ben Gavir is a great person. You know, Doc, I've been saying that Donald Trump could pull the rug out from under Bibi Netanyahu. What if he doesn't insist on a moderate Israeli being the prime minister, but he insists on Ben Gavir? Yeah, not someone that could go in and negotiate a settlement, but someone that will go full guns a-blazing.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Well, Donald Trump has got that Ben Gavir lookalike elected Congress up here in just north of us. What was his name? Larry Fine? Yes. No, that's a Three Stooges. That's one of the Three Stooges. Was this Larry Fine? That's one of the Three Stooges. Was it Larry Fine?
Starting point is 00:30:45 That's one of the Three Stooges. I don't remember. But he's a Ben Gavir lookalike. And even Ron DeSantis, who is a Zionist, doesn't like Fine. Governor DeSantis was going to appoint this guy just to get rid of him, to get him out of the Florida legislature, get him out of Tallahassee. And he was going to make him Florida president of,
Starting point is 00:31:14 was it Atlantic University? Yes, Florida Atlantic. And the entire board of directors threatened to resign. And so what happened? President Trump insisted that he run for Congress. And he won. And he's a dual citizen. This is the kind of stuff that Donald Trump does that really
Starting point is 00:31:37 makes me upset. Randy Fine. That's Randy Fine, not Larry Fine. Yeah. Although, you could switch them out. It doesn't matter. Okay. Randy Fine, yes. Let's move on. The London Times. Look at this story, Doc. China is going to build a nuclear power plant on the moon.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Yes. This is true news for you folks. China has confirmed plans that they're going to build a lunar nuclear power plant to support a permanent research station in its planning with Russia. In a briefing to foreign governments and international organizations in Shanghai, Chinese scientists presented the most detailed plan so far of the International Lunar Research Station, a permanently staffed joint base due to be built by 2035, get those numbers there Rick,
Starting point is 00:32:30 and to function as a station for lunar research by 2050. Now Beijing has presented the lunar project as an opportunity for collaboration with other nations and says it could be used as a base for manned missions to other planets in the solar system. Azerbaijan, Belarus, Pakistan, South Africa, and Venezuela have also joined the project. Beijing's Russian partners are working, listen to this,
Starting point is 00:32:54 on a nuclear-powered cargo ship, or a space tugboat, is what they're calling it. Yuri Borisov, the former head of Roscosmos, said last year, this Ude's cyclopean structure would be able to, thanks to a nuclear reactor and high-power turbines to transport large cargoes from one orbit to another, collect space debris and engage in many other applications. The message that China and Russia are putting out there is
Starting point is 00:33:23 they're moving, forging ahead, and looking to the skies and space and beyond for expansion. But look at the partners. Did you ever imagine Azerbaijan, Belarus, Pakistan, South Africa, and Venezuela would be involved in a project to build a nuclear plant on the moon? Well, I mean, that's China, though, to bring in these partners and to work with these other groups to, you know, we do the same thing. I mean, we use our influence to bring other countries into our planning, our fold.
Starting point is 00:33:58 But this is a major project that we're talking about. When we're talking about building nuclear plants on the moon, I mean, that's a major step forward. The world is changing. Life is changing. Back to the USA, Fox News. Illegal immigrant convicted of killing teens in high-speed crash to be released early by the state of California. Yes. So in this story here, the families of the victims of an Orange County, California, high-speed car crash are sending letters to the state to keep an illegal immigrant convicted of an illegal immigrant convicted felon behind bars as he's expected to be released from
Starting point is 00:34:43 prison over six years before his, he only got 10 years for this by the way. Oscar Eduardo Ortego Anguana was driving drunk, high and speeding at nearly a hundred miles an hour on the 405 freeway in Orange County back in November of 2021. When he crashed into a car being driven by a young couple who you see pictured there,
Starting point is 00:35:04 19 year olds Anya Varfomolev and Nikolai Osokin, killing them both as they burned alive. In 2022, he was convicted of two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Fox News has this brief segment talking about this particular situation. And now to Bill Mollusian. He has a Fox News exclusive on the tragic consequences of an unsecured border.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Hi Bill, been waiting to talk to you all morning. Yeah Dana, good morning to you. This illegal alien had a lengthy rap sheet here in California long before he ever killed these two California teenagers. He's got several felony convictions on his record, several convictions for driving without a license, but he was still out and about on California's roads and this young American couple ended up paying the price for that. And now their killer is getting an early release. It was November 2021, a fiery collision on an Orange County freeway, a young couple dead, and the driver who crashed into them, a twice deported illegal alien from
Starting point is 00:36:13 Mexico with multiple felonies in custody for being drunk, high, and speeding at nearly 100 miles per hour. I get a knock on the door. And there's two police officers. The pain written all over the face of Pavel Osokin as he recalls being told his son Nikolai and his 19 year old girlfriend Anya Varfalle Meve friends since they were kids or
Starting point is 00:36:37 gone. They told me there was a horrible incident. My son and his girlfriend Anya basically burned alive in their car. She was my daughter. Anya's father, Anatoly, got a similar knock on the door that night. He said Anya's name. I said, yes, it's my daughter. My wife came downstairs and she was screaming and cried.
Starting point is 00:37:09 She said, no, no, no, no. In spring of 2022, a jury convicted Oscar Eduardo Ortega Anguiano on two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. A judge sentenced him to 10 years. But on Easter Sunday, the families say they received this notice from the California Department of Corrections that on July 19th he'll be getting out. Two years for killing two kids. It's confusing to me. Why you give them 10 if they're going to spend five and then three. You get two young productive American citizens killed for nothing and that illegal immigrant who already has been deported twice is going to be released again.
Starting point is 00:37:55 In a statement the Department of Corrections wouldn't confirm the release but said in part quote incarcerated persons may earn credits for participating in rehabilitative programming, which may move their parole dates to an earlier date. Anya and Nikolai's families are now sending letters to the state, calling for Ortega Ongviano to serve his full sentence. All those dreams were cut short just by one person who was not even supposed to be on that freeway. I will never forgive this guy, never ever. I hope he's going to stay in prison.
Starting point is 00:38:30 I hope he's going to get old in prison. And I hope he's going to get kicked out from our country in the end. And Dana, ICE confirms to Fox News they have placed a detainer on this illegal alien with the California Department of Corrections. Their hope is that the state will transfer him to their custody upon his release from prison in July. As for the victims' families, they are now left wondering what are two lives worth here in the state of California?
Starting point is 00:38:59 They say apparently only a little more than three years. And they're right. That's what it's worth. And the ironic thing here, Doc, is that the two parents are legal immigrants. Yes. Who came in the right way. Yes. And the other odd thing was they received notification on Easter Sunday. That is odd. I didn't realize it was Easter Sunday. Very odd, very strange.
Starting point is 00:39:29 But this is California. This is Gavin Newsom's administration. Yes. Well, Tom Homan had something to say. Yes. He's not happy about this and basically what he said is, well, when they release this guy from California prison, Mr. Homan's agents are going to be standing there to grab him. Yes, that's right. And we have this video from Fox News where they speak with Tom Homan about the situation and he makes those remarks. Watch this. So Tom Homan joins us from the North Carolina White House and sir thank you for your time
Starting point is 00:40:05 today. There's a lot to get to and I know for a lot of our viewers we're covering a lot of different cases that involve very different people in different parts of the country and different states. Just react to Bill's reporting right there from California first. Let's begin there. Well look you know Billy everybody asks why I get so emotional on network TV, why I get emotional when I testify because I've met hundreds of angel moms and dads
Starting point is 00:40:26 and hear every story, I'll never forget any of those stories. It's just a tragedy. But I'll make this commitment right now. I will, for secretary Noem, on this case, and I guarantee you, if they don't honor a detainer, we'll have ICE agents outside that facility to take custody of this individual and deport him. He's been deported several times, which means he's a felon.
Starting point is 00:40:44 Reentry to country of the former deportations is a felony. We will prosecute him and we will deport him. I'll make that commitment and I'll work with Secretary Norton to make sure that happens. I want to bring up one other thing before we get to the bigger picture and that is, for example, when someone on the left go against you, they will say, oh, it's just like one or two people, right? Well, that's not the case, as you know. And here's another example. There was a young woman, a mother of two, killed in Maryland. Again, Maryland, mother of two. Her name was Guerra. And she is one of Senator Van Hollen's constituents in wealth. Her mother, who is Lesbia Melith
Starting point is 00:41:23 Ramirez Guerra, I'm sorry, that was the woman who was killed. The mother is devastated, just like those fathers were that you just saw. This is what Van Hollen said, I cannot imagine the grief and pain that the family of Ms. Guerra is feeling right now. My heart goes out to them during this incredibly difficult time as they mourn her loss. I thank all of those in law enforcement who have been part of the extensive search effort and investigation. Now Ms. Squares family and friends and our community will see her suspected killer and anyone involved in this crime face justice in a court of law. Courts of law are where we punish the guilty and provide for the due process rights of
Starting point is 00:41:54 all. That is why it is important to respect the law of law and the decision of our courts. The issue is the woman who was killed didn't get that chance for due process. There she is right there on your screen. And the senator, I know the point he's trying to make, but the point the president was trying to make yesterday in the Oval Office is we have a huge number of illegal immigrants in this country that are affiliated with these gangs. And to go one by one is going to take years and years and years
Starting point is 00:42:26 that we don't have in order to protect the rest of the citizens. So how do you think this gets solved in the end? Well, first of all, Van Hollen's statement is just ridiculous. If you want more safety for the citizens of Maryland, then stop being the sanctuary state. Work with ICE. When you arrest a public safety threat that's in the country illegally, work with ICE. Let us in that jail so we can get them in the safety security jail rather than release them back in the public, which creates a public threat. Finally, you know, what's happening
Starting point is 00:42:55 right now across the country, we have district court judges shutting us down across the country. There's a reason they're district court judges. They're not national judges, but as you mentioned earlier when talking to Bill, you got New York judge district court, you got a district court judges, not national judges, but as you mentioned earlier when talking about the bill, you got New York judge district court, you got a district court in Colorado putting a national ban on our activity. They're district court judges. We got to get this to the Supreme Court as quick as possible. District court judges can't overrule the president's executive orders. This is what we got to get fixed right away in the Supreme Court so we can actually keep
Starting point is 00:43:23 the president's promise to America. Doc, I would not be surprised that when this guy is released from California prison, that the Democrats surround him and protect him. Oh yes. I have prayed for him. They're doing everything else. I'm going to go back to what I said yesterday or the day before. They work for the Chinese Communist Party. Because no elected official seen in the right mind would defend these people. There has to be some other motivation for the Democrats to do something so bizarre. And the only thing I can think is, well, the two that I gave was, they're all criminals.
Starting point is 00:44:13 The Democratic Party is a criminal outfit, defending criminal gangs. And number two, the Chinese Communist Party has ordered them to do it. So, because there's no logic that explains it. It's beyond logic. But let's wait and see if the Democrats make this guy the new poster child. I just can't understand how a guy that had already been deported twice.
Starting point is 00:44:40 Listen, he shouldn't have been in the prison. He shouldn't have been on that highway. He should have been back home, wherever home is for him. But this- Well, the Biden administration allowed him to come in. Right. And the argument from the Democrats is, well, you've got to give due process.
Starting point is 00:44:56 No. I'm all in favor of due process for American citizens. He doesn't get any, he doesn't have rights. He doesn't have any rights as an American citizen. He has human rights, but he doesn't have rights as codified by the Constitution. That's right. Those are for citizens. A court trial is going to take years, and he's going to have a taxpayer-funded public
Starting point is 00:45:19 defender. Right. And the emotional pain that's going to exist for those families whose children were killed in that fiery crash, I mean, their pain continues. Where's their due process? Where's their compensation? You know, I did prison ministry, Rick, and I'm just telling you, 99% of the people belong there. They really do. They belong there. But there's some that don people belong there. They really do. They belong there. But there's some that don't belong there.
Starting point is 00:45:49 They belong back where they came from. And so, if that sounds cruel, deal with it. I am of a belief that the courts are going to block President Trump, including the Supreme Court. And when it happens, he's going to declare martial law. That's his only option left. It's his only option. And then there'll be the you in cry.
Starting point is 00:46:14 Well, look, he's a dictator now, doing martial law. You put him in that position. You created that. Yes. But that's where I think we're headed. And that's why I would say to our true news family, be prepared.
Starting point is 00:46:34 Things can change at any moment. Things are not stable. CNBC next stop for gold. Four thousand dollars, says JPMorgan. CNBC next stop for gold $4,000 says JP Morgan doctor you ever think you'd see a headline like this no JP Morgan my lifetime next stop for gold $4,000 well the next stop for you should be Gold Co. 844-960-Gold. 844-960-Gold. I don't have to say anything. I'm out of words to say. The headlines are telling you the biggest banks in America are preparing for gold to hit $4,000. It's finally here. I heard this years and years and years ago, Doc. My early days of treaties, people would say,
Starting point is 00:47:36 gold's going to go to $4,000, $5,000 someday. Well, that was like 15, 18 years ago. And that was so far out of mind. People were like, that can't happen. That's like living on the moon. With nuclear power. But now it's just normal. Right, it's within reach. It will happen this year more than likely. Wall Street Journal, one trillion dollars of wealth created for the 19th richest families homes last year. One trillion dollars of wealth for 19 families. In one year.
Starting point is 00:48:20 In one year. The system is rigged. And the ones who have rigged it, they don't want you to know what you need to do to keep up with the changes in the economy. Which I would tell you, the first thing to do is get a hold of Gold Co., get out of debt, become a generous giver to the work of the Lord. And I would argue with that headline, Rick, I don't think one trillion dollars of wealth was created. I think one trillion dollars was transferred.
Starting point is 00:48:53 Yes, transferred. That's what it was. It was transferred. Right. We got a graph chart that shows you the concentration of wealth. So the wealthiest 1% of households, if you look in that upper left-hand corner there, that's that one little dot, okay? The wealthiest 1% of households own 31% of the nation's wealth.
Starting point is 00:49:17 The wealthiest 10% of households have 67% of total wealth. 10%? Yes. have 67% of total wealth. Ten percent of this country has 67% of the nation's wealth. Now look at this next one. The wealthiest 50%, 97% of total wealth. And the other half, or the bottom 50%, there at the bottom on the right-hand side, account for 3% of total wealth. Now, I'm all in favor of people making money and being rich. And if you have created a product or a service
Starting point is 00:49:56 or an idea, and it's scalable and it's workable, I'm all for it. But most of this wealth transfer that's been taking place has been basically a giant three-card Monte game that's been going on now for decades. And it continues to go on at this point. These guys aren't creating wealth. What are they creating?
Starting point is 00:50:22 What did they create? No, it was transferred or manufactured. They're decimating the middle class. And so you only have the super rich and then you have the lower middle class and the poor. But it's becoming difficult to be middle class in this country. Financial Times, China and BRICS will defend global order as Trump withdraws, says Brazil. China and its partners in the BRICS group of developing countries will increasingly stand up for international cooperation as the US withdraws under President Donald Trump, a top Brazilian diplomat said.
Starting point is 00:51:02 That's right. So China and developing nations today are the main defenders of the multilateral system, as confirmed by President Lula and his top foreign policy adviser, Celso Amirim, speaking to the Financial Times. What's fundamental is to have rules which are multilaterally accepted. It goes on in that article from the Financial Times, as the United States steps back from multilateralism, from the economic and social order, which they themselves created after the Second World War, the space for bricks increases. This policy advisor, he's guided Brazilian foreign policy over more than three decades, mostly at the side of President Lula.
Starting point is 00:51:46 Now ultimately, Amiram thinks that a world order without Washington is possible. Little by little, we will have to attract the United States again, he said. In the meantime, Brazil will try to avoid conflict with the US, but we're also not going to stop giving our opinion on it. This is another example of how elections matter.
Starting point is 00:52:09 Bolsonaro should be president of Brazil right now. But he's legally prohibited from running for like 10 years. Right. Because that's the way the establishment does things now. Just what they did in France. Hey, well, you're number one in the polls. You're going to prison. And they tried to do it in the U.S.
Starting point is 00:52:34 All right. I'm going to show you some animal videos. I'm going out in style, folks. By the way, the Board of Directors of Faith and Values, I'm not on the board. The board of directors met last week, and so the decision has been made that True News's last podcast will be next Friday, one week from this Friday. That's May the second. It's, you know, I'm having trouble comprehending what I just said.
Starting point is 00:53:11 But it's really happening. It's the last podcast of True News, not my last podcast, not Doc's last podcast. We're going to be here. We're just going to do things differently. But the last podcast of True News will be Friday, May 2nd. And so this is our 26th year. And I think after 26 years, I deserve the right to say I want to do something different. And we are. We're going to focus on building the world's first online Bible school for children.
Starting point is 00:53:52 We're going to start with little three-year-olds. Three to seven is going to be our first age group. We're going to develop curriculum for children. We're going to produce videos. We're going to have courses, we're going to educate children in the Word of God. Nobody's done it. And God willing, we're going to be the first ones to do it. So I'm not going away. I'm just getting rid of this new stuff so I can get busy on that big project. The other thing will be Morning Manor. And we're really
Starting point is 00:54:27 going to beef up Morning Manor and expand the distribution of Morning Manor. And that's going to be our primary program. We possibly, and all some of these things haven't been completely decided upon. Again, I'm not on the board anymore. I stepped aside a couple years ago. I guess it's been two years, hasn't it? See? I didn't leave, did I? People said when I announced I was resigned from the board of directors, well, he's done.
Starting point is 00:55:00 He said, no, I'm still here. Been here for two years. Okay? Not an employee of the church anymore. I've been coming here doing this work because God called me to do it. And then recently, he said, you're finished with this assignment.
Starting point is 00:55:16 But I've got more. And one of the things we may do with Morning Manna is that we might create a six-hour live stream. It wouldn't be all teaching. It would be music and interviews and call-ins and a lot of different content that we would be streaming. We've got plans to do more things. So don't think that we're going away. And I may do, from time to time, I may do special short videos on current affairs.
Starting point is 00:55:51 If I see something that's important, I think you need to know this. Hey, I can record a five-minute video, but it's not going to take me eight hours of work to work on news all day long to produce a program. So there are things that we will be doing differently in the coming year, but the main thing I've got to get across to you and I'm gonna have probably my last day. I'll really expound And that is, I am persuaded, there's probably three things that we're going to see very soon, two of them sooner than the third one. Number one, I think we're headed towards martial law, and that means civil unrest. It will be over the issue of illegal immigrants.
Starting point is 00:56:48 And I think we're headed in that direction. I really, I do not have confidence the Supreme Court is going to back President Trump. I think they're going to rule against him. Number two, I think we're going to have financial troubles later this year. And I think 2026 is going to be a horrific year for the economy. And all of us need to get prepared. You need to get, that's what I've been telling you, pay off your debt.
Starting point is 00:57:31 Build up precious metal supply. Become a generous giver to the work of the Lord. Get busy. And then the third thing, which I think we have a little bit more time, and that is war, war with China. I'm still believing it's coming in the early 2030s, but it could come in the 2020s. I hope it's in the 2030s. They give us more time.
Starting point is 00:57:59 But we're on a trajectory for a conflict with China. And so what I'm saying to you is this. I have been at this work for 26 years. And the Lord is saying to me, Rick, there's no need in telling them anymore. It's on the horizon. It's almost here. Take care of the work I've given you to do and take care of yourself. Get ready. Get ready for what is about to happen. And maybe maybe the shock of ending true news will jolt people. Because you just assume, oh Rick will be here even when we've got nuclear bombs exploding. He'll still be doing true news.
Starting point is 00:58:52 No I won't. And so I'm trying to get a change of the environment around us. Right. Political, financial, and military, national security environments will change. And the storms will come in. And you need to become very serious about this and sober. That's the word I want you to have sober. You need to be sober about it.
Starting point is 00:59:30 And stop talking about it. Stop watching videos and so forth. But actually start making decisions. What are you, what do you need to do to ride this out? So those are why I'm making these changes. But I'm not going away. I'm not running away. I'm not quitting and not crawling under a rock. I'm just going to do things differently. And getting little children saved, getting them grounded in the Word, making them strong little disciples. You know what? That's what the Lord told me to do.
Starting point is 01:00:08 Speak to big people and little people. Teach them the Word. So morning mantis for adults and our Ark Bible School is going to be for children. And that's how I'm going to function as Long as the Lord has given me a breath on this planet to get things done Told me years ago have it all done by 2030 Well, we're at 2025, right? And he's he's giving me instructions to change what we are doing. Okay, I More to say about it next week. I got three happy, well,
Starting point is 01:00:52 the first one, yeah, it ends up happy. A Florida man had to get in the water to rescue his puppy from an alligator Watch this I Take well that takes some courage there. Yeah, because in that water there's more alligators. That's right There's a mama alligator out there some huh, so but the incredible video here The puppy is rescued I don't know who rescued the man. He's 74. Rick, he's got you beat by a couple years. Would you jump into the creek out back of your house? I've had those thoughts. Because when I had my golden retriever gator, you get gator near water, gator just jumped. That's what retrievers do. You put a gold retriever near water, you're going to hear a splash. And it really bothered
Starting point is 01:01:58 me, Doc, when he was still alive. He'd get out there and look at that water and I said, please gator, please don't do this Don't you dare? Jump in that creek Because that thing was of if you stood there long enough you you would see a six or seven foot alligator swim by and But what about you doc if fudge went in the if the fudge went in the The the lake behind your house, would you jump in and get him? Hey, it's his own stupid fault for jumping in that lake. Alright, so that's your answer? Alright, okay.
Starting point is 01:02:36 I would seriously contemplate jumping in. Alright. But I haven't seen an alligator in a long, long time, so I might jump in after him. I'll tell you, if it was Susan time, so I might jump in after him. I'll tell you, if it was Susan... Of course I'd jump in after him, Rick. If it was Susan's two chihuahuas, she would push me in. Yes, she would.
Starting point is 01:02:52 All right, the next one is just, this is just a dog having fun. Yes. May you be as happy as this dog. Look at him. Wow. Everybody deserves to be that happy in life. Be as happy as a dog in a fountain. What a great image there. The next one is a retired Canadian Mountie police officer. Yes.
Starting point is 01:03:21 And what's he doing? He's feeding raccoons hot dogs. It's hot dog time for a swarm of raccoons. I Don't know who's having more fun the raccoons or the guy oh he's having he's having a great time. That's his retirement now. I Mean I I've never seen that many raccoons in one spot ever. Oh, I have. A friend of mine here, they don't live here anymore in Vero, but they had that many on their back patio every night. Oh my goodness.
Starting point is 01:03:57 And they were putting cat food out there for them. And they'd get 40, 50 raccoons. And they just had a great time feeding until the neighbors. It was a very upscale neighborhood. And they didn't like the idea of a swarm of raccoons coming through the neighborhood, did they? No. And I walked outside one evening and I left to get in my car. And Doc, there were, it was like a raccoon train coming through
Starting point is 01:04:27 the trees. And they were coming from one branch, getting over onto another branch, all the way from house to house. It looked like a train of raccoons. As far as you could see, there were raccoons coming. And were they coming to collect the raccoon tax? Yeah, they were going to his house. And I and I thought oh this is going to come to an end when the neighbors figure this out. Two more things. Amazon has this week they've got a book sale at Amazon and so Final Day is participating with the Amazon book sale. I think just about every book at Amazon is on sale for the next week.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Right. After all, their shipping is down, so they've got to sell books again. That's right. They're going back to, hey, let's sell books. So, we told them, yes, we will participate. So basically that's a half, 50% off on final day. So it's a good opportunity for you to get a couple of those books. So just go to Amazon and just look up final day. Is that all you have to do, Rick? Yeah, and it's the paperback version.
Starting point is 01:05:40 You want the paperback. That's the second edition. And you'll be able to get it for $9.99. Right. And it's a good time to purchase some for gifts for people. And if you're watching this by video, we have the QR code on the screen. You just scan that and it'll take you directly to the link. Otherwise, just search on Amazon for Final Day and for the sale, limited time offer, $9.99.
Starting point is 01:06:08 And I think it ends on April 28th. Final Day, half price, $9.99. And one more thing, I want to remind you about the cross, made of spikes spikes that we are sending to people in appreciation of their gift, their offering of $500 for the support of faith and values. We're taking it a step of faith. I'm ending a podcast that's been here for 26 years. That is a step of faith. And we're saying, we're going to stop something that has been working for 26 years, and we're going to do something completely new. That is a step of faith, but we are completely convinced the Lord is guiding us.
Starting point is 01:07:09 And at the same time, He made this piece of religious art available to us. A wonderful young man is a blacksmith, his name is Jake, makes these at his blacksmith shop. And they are handmade. Every single cross is handmade, made with spikes, and the spikes represent the nails that were driven into the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. And so this is a gift that you will have. It's not going to dissolve.
Starting point is 01:07:49 These are real spikes. This thing is heavy. It's a very solid piece of work. And so you're going to have this in your family the rest of your life. It's something that you can hand off to somebody else. It's a great gift. Some people may want to be buying them for upcoming Christmas as a Christmas gift or
Starting point is 01:08:12 a birthday gift for somebody or an anniversary or maybe to present one to your church or your pastor. So we're asking for a love gift of $500 and we will send one of these crosses to you as quickly as we can. There are a lot of people. And all I can say is get in line. Jake is pounding these out as fast as he can, and we're shipping them every day.
Starting point is 01:08:42 He brings more over to us. We're shipping them out. We will get it to you as quickly as we can, but you need to get in line right now. Yes, and some people have already received their crosses, and the feedback we've been getting from the folks that have already received, it's even more beautiful in person.
Starting point is 01:09:01 Yes. When you actually have it, they're surprised at how heavy it is. It's not some cheap plastic or aluminum knockoff or anything like that. This is real steel here, folks. And so, and- You will know when it shows up in your mailbox.
Starting point is 01:09:16 Right, and it's a great conversation starter. People will come up when they see it at your house or see it at your place of business, they will say, where did you get that? What is that? And what a great opportunity to not only share your faith in Jesus Christ, but also to share your support for this ministry through the years. Yes.
Starting point is 01:09:37 So, a $500 love gift, and we will receive it with great appreciation and gratitude, and we would be delighted to send one of these crosses to you Okay, that's it for today Doc and I will be back tomorrow. Russia, Malaysia, Brazil, Philippines, Japan, just a few of the countries I've noticed this morning that have been online, plus people from all across the United States and Canada, we welcome you. We are continuing our study in Romans chapter 12 today. Our focus today will be on verses 9 through 13. And what we're going to be studying about today is practical Christian living here. And so if you've got your Bibles, let's open up and we'll read together. I'm reading from
Starting point is 01:12:58 the King James this morning. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil. Cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affection one to another with brotherly love. In honor, preferring one another. Not slothful in business, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer, distributing to the necessity of saints and given to hospitality. God bless the reading of His Word today. A lot of very good practical
Starting point is 01:13:48 instructions to us. These aren't suggestions, they are instructions. Verse 9, let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good. All right, well, first thing we have to figure out is what is dissimulation? That's that's not a word. I don't remember any time in the past year I used the word dissimulation.
Starting point is 01:14:18 In fact, I don't either why. No, I think now that I think about it, I don't recall ever saying it. I don't remember saying, Doc, you're dissimulating. Stop it. Stop dissimulating. What is it? It's hypocrisy. Let love be without hypocrisy. Right. Let your love be genuine.
Starting point is 01:14:49 Let it be real. Let it be unpretentious. Paul's saying, display authentic love that reflects God's sincere mercy. Love people wholeheartedly, like Christ loves the church. And so this emphasis on sincere love is for the purpose of building the unity of the body of Christ, to recognize and respect the diversity that's in the church.
Starting point is 01:15:37 Diversity of people in terms of, you've got two genders, you have nationalities, you have ethnicities, you have languages, and then you have spiritual gifts. There's a diversity in gifts. Not everybody's a pastor, not everybody's a teacher, not everybody is an administrator. Everybody has a gift, respect the person's gift and love them. Show love and let it be genuine, let it come from your heart so that there's unity in the church, so that the church is in one accord like it was in the book of Acts. in one accord like it was in the Book of Acts. Hypocritical love, fake religious love.
Starting point is 01:16:33 You can see through it so quickly. It's not hard to spot. But it's not a good witness for the church. I love it when sinners say kind good things about a church. Like, hey those people are real real. And I met some of them and they are genuine. They are real. They treated me like I was their family. See, that's the kind of love Paul's talking about. Don't put on this religious air, I love you, brother.
Starting point is 01:17:23 But you are a filthy sinner, but I do love you in Christ, okay now see it as fake Just love the people love everybody You're not given permission to hate anyone you're not given permission to withhold love See that's a different action I'm not giving permission to withhold love. See, that's a different action from hating. Just, I don't hate you, I just refuse to treat you nice. What is that? What is that, all right? I just refuse to speak to you.
Starting point is 01:18:07 I don't hate you, I just won't talk to you. He said abhor that which is evil. Hate. Now that's what you're supposed to hate. You're supposed to love your brothers and sisters and you are to abhor and hate that which is evil. Abhor means to develop a deep visceral hatred. Yes, it's not just a casual hatred, although I don't know how hatred can be casual, but I mean, this is the passion. there's probably the best way to describe it. Yes. Well, what are you supposed to hate?
Starting point is 01:18:50 That which is sin. Those things that are opposed to God. Because you're aligning your life, your heart, your mind, your mouth, you're aligning it with God's holiness. Does God hate evil? Yes. You better believe he hates evil. And so abhorrence goes beyond just mere avoidance. Abhorrence requires an active rejection of evil in thought, words, and deed.
Starting point is 01:19:44 You don't tolerate it. It has no place in your presence. And the people that promote something that's evil or wink at what's evil will quickly discern, don't do this around this person. They're not going to accept it. It doesn't mean being nasty and mean, it just means, hey, I've got standards and that what you just said or did is against my heavenly father. And you draw the line. You set the standards. You're being salt.
Starting point is 01:20:33 You're being salt and light. So those who abhor evil are people who have a transformed life. Their minds have been renewed by the word of God. And therefore it's just automatic that they detest anything that opposes God's will. Yes. It's not something that they have to think about. If you're in the word of God, if your mind has been renewed, you already know what he
Starting point is 01:21:08 detests. And I'll tell you one thing he hates, sowing discord among the brethren. Amen, Rick. Troublemakers. Troublemakers in the church, troublemakers among Christian brothers and sisters. God hates sowing discord among the brethren. Doesn't say he frowns upon it. He hates it. Therefore, when you encounter somebody who is trash talking other Christians, slandering them, maligning them, you are
Starting point is 01:21:49 to hate their evil act and cut it off. Say, excuse me, I can't participate in this conversation. I don't want to get any of that evil on me. What do you mean? You're bad talking, you're trashing another Christian. Well, I'm just telling the truth. No, you're slandering someone. You're telling the truth in hate, not in love. Right. So come on. Sometimes truth keeps its mouth shut, Rick.
Starting point is 01:22:23 Yes. Yes. Sometimes truth keeps its mouth shut, Rick. Yes, yes. Cleave. So you are to abhor that which is evil, but then you are to cleave to that which is good. Cleaving in the same sense of a man and woman coming together in marriage. They become one flesh.
Starting point is 01:22:48 Yes, they cleave together. Yeah, and that's the way you should be toward good. You cleave to the good. You become married to good. You become one flesh, if you will, with good. You become one flesh, if you will, with good. Embrace, passionately embrace and hold fast to that which is good. That's cleaving. It implies a tenacious commitment to good.
Starting point is 01:23:24 The discernment of God's will, and then clinging to God's will, to those things that he loves, rejecting and hating what he despises and clinging to what he loves. That's pretty easy, isn't it? To understand. Nothing, there's no deep theological doctrine here. Hate what God hates, love what God loves. Yes. That's real simple. Find out what he hates, find out what he loves. And just do what he does and everything will be okay. So this verse, verse 9, let's recap what we've learned. It urges us to practice genuine love without hypocrisy,
Starting point is 01:24:28 to reflect God's sincere mercy towards us, reflected in our relationship with others. We learned authentic love is free from pretense. It's real, it's genuine. Abhor that which is evil, a passionate rejection of sin, a strong opposition to anything that is morally wrong. Cleave to that which is good. To tenaciously embrace righteousness and moral excellence. Cleaving to what is good automatically means you're rejecting that which is evil.
Starting point is 01:25:22 Right. You can't do both at the same time. That would be schizophrenia. If you're embracing that which is evil, you'll never embrace that those things that are good. And if you're, if you're cleaving to what is good, you're never going to cleave to what is evil. That's right. And because evil demands your full attention. Yes. And so does God. I mean, he does too.
Starting point is 01:25:55 Yes. God's not going to compete with any entity or thought or ideology, person. God's just not going to compete with them. He wants everything from you, everything. He doesn't want part of you. He just wants your heart. He wants your feet, and hands, and eyes. He wants all of you. So God wants, passionately wants you. We should passionately seek what God wants, and that's good. When you read the Bible, you see patterns where God tolerated a lot of wrong stuff. When I say tolerated, he did not implement swift judgment.
Starting point is 01:26:43 Yeah, he was long-s long suffering, patient with various sins and sinful people. But there are two things, idolatry and receiving the worship of humans. Those two things will you will see God get bent out of shape really quickly. He doesn't tolerate idols and he doesn't tolerate somebody allowing them allowing other people to treat him or her like a god or goddess. Yes. And if you want to see his bad side, just do those things. Watch what happens. I say his bad side and talking about his firm judgmental side. Romans 12 10, be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love in honor, preferring one another.
Starting point is 01:27:53 Praise God. Anything complicated in this verse? It means to passionately cultivate a warm family-like affection with brothers and sisters in Christ. To treat them like your family. And I hope you treat your family good. I mean, it starts there. The love of Christ ought to be in your family, but then you are to treat others in the body of Christ like their relatives, kindly affectioned. That means tender, heartfelt love.
Starting point is 01:28:50 And this is building on what we just read in verse 9. To develop deep, authentic relationships. To create an intimacy in the church among the brothers and sisters. Brotherly love, this is the word Philadelphia. The Greek word Philadelphia. It means a believer sharing a bond that transcends natural ties, right. bond that transcends natural ties, right? And so a family like love strengthens the body of Christ.
Starting point is 01:29:40 And that encourages mutual care and support where we're watching out for each other, in honor, preferring one another. That means to be, to humbly esteem others above yourself. Amen. And that's against human nature. Right? Natural, you know, the natural ways of man to prefer someone else over yourself. In this world, we're taught look out for number one.
Starting point is 01:30:16 You know, you grab all you can and then can all you get. And so, and then sit on the can. It's all about self. The biggest section in any bookstore is what section? The self-help section. And so it's about self. But the gospel turns that on its head and says, no, it's not about self. It's about somebody else.
Starting point is 01:30:41 In this case, Paul is saying about brothers and sisters in Christ, that prefer them above your own needs and above your own desires. So putting others ahead of you is the antidote to pride? Yes. Giving is the antidote to greed? To greed, yes. If you don't wanna be greedy, be generous. You gotta be one or the other.
Starting point is 01:31:17 There's greed and there's generosity. And greed is bad, so the only way to not fall into it is to be generous. Same way here. Selfishness is bad. The way to avoid it is to constantly work at making others more important than you. I did something darkness about this in my team. A week ago, I was home alone. So on the weekend, Susan was with our daughter and I was studying, thinking, working on the idea of this children's Bible school.
Starting point is 01:32:14 And then I was saying to the Lord, I have no experience in a children's church, in Sunday school for children. I don't have any experience in this. Where do I start? What do I do? And I heard the Holy Spirit say, sit down and watch that movie about Fred Rogers starring Tom Hanks. I don't remember what year it came out. Was it 10 years ago, Doc? I don't know. Well, no, it's been just past couple of years. It's come. Oh, is it?
Starting point is 01:32:47 Okay. I don't know. Yeah. I mean, I remember the movie out, but you know, I was like, why would I go see a movie about Mr. Rogers came out in 2019. Was it okay? Yeah. So I said, okay.
Starting point is 01:33:01 I was, you know, I went to Amazon prime. There was, I said, okay, I'll watch it. I was absolutely enthralled with the movie because it highlighted Fred Rogers' personality. He was a Presbyterian minister. He was ordained in the Presbyterian church. Mr. Rogers' TV show was his ministry. And he he regularly went before Presbyterian
Starting point is 01:33:33 Presbyter, Pres, Pres, Presper. What is that word doc? The presbyters. Okay. I'll let you run with it. Okay, the Board of Presbyters. Okay. Okay, I'll let you run with it. Okay, the board of Presbyters, okay That's the easy way there go He constantly went before it regularly went before them to give updates on what he was doing to minister to children Did you know that that the mr. Rogers show was his ministry? But one of the things that I one of the qualities that stood out was that if you were talking to him, you were the most important person on earth. At that moment, he treated everybody that way.
Starting point is 01:34:20 Yes, he did. You were the most important person. That was a quality that he did. You were the most important person. That was a quality that he had. And it's what it's it's Romans 12 10. He he perfected it in his life. And he said, I've got to keep myself humble. And the way I'll do it is to always pour out affection and attention and honor and respect to whoever I encounter each day.
Starting point is 01:34:55 And he treated children didn't minimize them, didn't talk down to them. He talked at them, at their level, and treated them really as equals in a lot of ways. He truly was genuine in that. Yes. There's one scene where they're on the set in the studio, and the production has come to a halt, and all the production staff, the cameramen,
Starting point is 01:35:32 the technicians, the directors, everybody's standing there, just twiddling their thumbs, waiting on Fred Rogers. And you don't see what he's doing. You just hear the staff whispering. And someone said, when are we going to go back to production? And another one said, it's been 45 minutes so far. And another person said, oh, I've
Starting point is 01:36:00 seen him go a lot longer than 45 minutes. And you're like, what is he doing? And then the camera shifts focus And there's a Their parents and a little physically handicapped boy who came a distance to meet Fred Rogers and What he did is if there was a child that showed up at the studio they got treated like royalty
Starting point is 01:36:38 and that he stopped the production of the show to bring that handicapped child onto the set and he was Basically on his knees looking eye to eye with that child talking for 45 minutes. He, he esteemed that child greater than himself. That child was the most important person on earth at that moment. We all have to work at this. I that movie affected me. have to work at this. That movie affected me. I was blessed by watching the tenderness of Fred Rogers. I had no idea what that man was like. He was like that in real life too. It wasn't a TV personality that he was playing. Yeah, and you met him. Yes I had dinner with Fred Rogers. So me and some other members of
Starting point is 01:37:32 other students at school I was going to at the time. We had the opportunity to invite Fred Rogers for dinner and he graciously accepted. Didn't complain about the food we made or anything and so that's how gracious he was. But he was as genuine in person as he was on television. But back in the 80s when my children were watching him, when they weren't looking I was skipping around in the kitchen making Susan laugh, saying, you know, singing, it's a wonderful day in the neighborhood, you know. Like, okay, the kids are in there, they're watching Mr. Rogers, okay.
Starting point is 01:38:16 And now I'm in great admiration of that man. So it's a good movie. I'd recommend that you watch it. So it's talking about tenderly love, brotherly affection, honoring others more than yourself, seeing them as more important than you. So we are to cultivate a tender family-like love within the church. That's what this kindly affection means. Brotherly love, Philadelphia, brotherly love, a deep authentic relationship. Remember in the first verse said authentic, not hypocrisy. Now he's saying this authentic love is to be like you
Starting point is 01:39:19 have for your family. Treat everyone in the church like their relatives because they are in the body of Christ. In verse 11, not slothful in business. Now this one, I see I can get excited about And I have met more than my share of lazy people. I like that. I have met more than my share of lazy people. I like that. I have met more than my share of lazy people. I like that. I have met more than my share of lazy people.
Starting point is 01:40:01 I like that. I have met more than my share of lazy people in my lifetime. I'm allergic to lazy people and negative people. I break out in hives. I start itching. I got to get out of the room. I can't stand to be around lazy people and I can't stand to be around negative, critical, fault-finding, unbelieving, faithless people.
Starting point is 01:40:38 I hear that coming out of their mouths, I'm like, oh, I gotta get out of here. I don't want that stuff to get on me. Don't be slothful. What's a sloth? You ever seen a sloth hanging in a tree? Hanging upside down, sleeping away. hanging upside down, sleeping away. Moving so slow, no purpose, except eat another leaf, sleep some more, eat another leaf, sleep
Starting point is 01:41:16 some more, maybe cross the road, stop traffic. What was the reason for God making a sloth? Was it just to show us an example? You don't want to be this? Yes. I can't think of any other reason. Don't be like this sloth. I can't imagine a sloth for a pet. Imagine playing fetch. It would never run to you. It would never come running.
Starting point is 01:41:44 Imagine playing fetch with your sloth. Go get it. Our leader. So in the beginning of today's lessons, we were told to reject evil, embrace what's good. Now we're being told to reject laziness and to embrace zeal. the extremes in this verse. Yes, don't be Now, I've met some zealous, lazy people. They're zealous about their laziness. The word business, it encompasses more than work, commercial transactions, you know, it, it refers to any task or duty, especially
Starting point is 01:42:50 those in service to God. Don't be lazy in your house. Clean your house. Clean your car. Clean your car. Clean your car, OK? Don't be lazy. And that word business is actually up in verse 8. It's in the Greek. It's the same Greek word for diligence.
Starting point is 01:43:19 So you can actually put the word diligence in. Not slothful in diligence. So if you go back up to verse 8, it says, he that ruleth with diligence. And so it's the very same Greek word. Why they translated it business in the King James and others, I'm not sure, but it's the same word. Laziness undermines the church's mission, but diligence strengthens the church's witness. Right.
Starting point is 01:43:59 Laziness undermines everything. It'll undermine your marriage. If one or two partners in a marriage are lazy, the marriage is going to suffer. Obviously in a business, if there are lazy employees the business is going to suffer diligent about the Lord's business. They may be diligent about their own business, but they're lazy about the Lord's business. Oh, now you're hitting close to home there, Rick. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 01:44:41 Uh-huh. To be fervent in spirit. You're gonna like this one, Doc. Fervent means to be boiling. That's right. It means to be bubbling, boiling over like a pot of water. Yes. That's what God expects of you in service of Him. To boil. You are to be on fire boiling. Remember in Revelation Jesus said, because you're neither hot or cold, I'm going to spew you out of my mouth. He'd rather have you frozen than to be lukewarm. His choice is that you be boiling hot for him. People boiling hot
Starting point is 01:45:51 for sports, they're boiling hot for politics. Oh yes. They're boiling hot for the making money. Nothing wrong with that as long as you're boiling hot for Almighty God. Use that same level of intense enthusiasm, devotion that you have for other things and apply it to the kingdom of God. So we are to cultivate a lively, active faith. We are to be ablaze for God. People would meet us, encounter us, they should see us aglow. You're boiling, you're bubbling. You can't be indifferent.
Starting point is 01:46:52 You can't be complacent. And you know what? You can't be less complacent. You can't be more complacent. You can't be more complacent. You can't be more complacent. You can't be more complacent. You can't be indifferent, you can't be complacent. And you know what?
Starting point is 01:47:09 You can't be lazy. If you're boiling and bubbling for the Lord, you can't be lazy. Lazy people don't bubble and boil. In serving the Lord, establishing that all zeal and fervor are directed towards pleasing God, aligning every action and word in your life with his glory. Yeah, be a zealot. I want people to call me a zealot for Christ. He's a a zealot. I want people to call me a zealot for Christ.
Starting point is 01:47:47 He's a Christian zealot. Yes, yes, thank you. Thank you very much. I have been working very hard at that. I'm glad that you recognized it. I'd be disappointed if you didn't call me a Christian zealot. Remember Alan Combs? He was on CNN and then later he was he had his radio talk show and then he was on Fox. No he wasn't on CNN was it? It was Fox. It's always Fox. He used to co host with with Sean Hannity. And then he had his own radio talk show. Alan combs used to interview me a number
Starting point is 01:48:35 of times. And we actually got to the point that we liked each other. I liked the guy and I told him one time on air, I said, I love you, Alan. He says, I don't want you to love me. That went out over the radio all over the country. You know, maybe a million people heard that. They heard a preacher say, I love you, Alan. And Alan barking back, I don't want you to love me. He wanted to argue. But it got to the point where he started to
Starting point is 01:49:15 mellow. He started to know over time, I was I was wearing him down. But one time he said, Rick Wells, isn't it true you want to convert everybody? Yes, Alan. Because you admit to it? I go, yes. Yes. I want to convert everybody. He thought that was he thought I would deny it. No, that's what I'm in this for. I said, I want to convert you too, Alan. I want the whole world to believe in Jesus. I hope that man got saved before he died. Didn't you tell me that even though he was Jewish, he would go to church with his wife?
Starting point is 01:50:03 Yes, yes, yes. He was going to church with his wife in a latter. Years. I hope he got saved. I hope so, too. I would love to meet Alan Combs. Me, too. Hey, Alan, you got converted.
Starting point is 01:50:22 See, I told you I wanted everybody. That's right. Even you. So we're told not to be slothful. Don't be lazy. Be fervent in spirit. To be zealous. reject laziness, embrace zeal, be boiling over in activity for the Lord and commitment to the kingdom of God. Don't be slothful in business, be zealous in the Lord's business. This one's easy, today's lesson is easy to teach.
Starting point is 01:51:07 I'm glad we finally got past that legal stuff. Listen, you have to eat the salad before the on. I know it's at a level now that I can understand, you know, I can get this. Don't be lazy. Be jealous. Okay, I can get that part. That's easy to understand. But without that foundation of doctrine underneath it, it doesn't mean anything. That's what's critical here.
Starting point is 01:51:36 Yes, I know. So the real practical Christian living comes from solid Christian doctrine. Yes. And I hope people understand that. Yes. Even though it's hard to understand. Yes. Verse 12, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer.
Starting point is 01:52:14 Rejoicing in hope means cultivating a vibrant joy, confident expectation that God will fulfill his promises. And that will sustain you throughout life's challenges. That hope, this rejoicing in hope, it is anchored in God's redemptive plan. Our hope is His plan will be fulfilled. That's our hope. That the fulfillment of His plan is already done. Yes. There's nothing to wonder. I wonder if He's gonna pull this off. You know, when we get to the Judgment Day, when we get to the point of Christ coming,
Starting point is 01:53:05 you think He'll be able to get us all resurrected and get us out of the graves? What if He can't do it? He's never done it before. Oh, this is done. It's already done. This is our hope. And I rejoice in this hope. You know, Doc, I said yesterday that I had said to the Lord in my morning prayer, I know there were no humans there to watch you create the universe,
Starting point is 01:53:40 but I wish I could have seen it. Just to stand there and watch my father take nothing and make something and hang it on nothing and tell it to stay there. It's like what? You're so, you're so awesome. He hung plants and stars on, he made them from nothing and then hung them on nothing.
Starting point is 01:54:12 What's in outer space? Nothing. These planets and stars are hanging on nothing and he said, stay there until I come back. But I was thinking this morning, wait a minute, we didn't get to see it the first time. We're gonna see it the second time. Doc, it hit me this morning,
Starting point is 01:54:41 that after he gathers to church, and we meet him in the air and he goes okay say goodbye to the universe say goodbye to the universe it's gonna disappear here goes boom universe is gone now okay kids watch watch watch what daddy is gonna do and he makes a new universe. We're gonna see it, doc. That's right. We'll have front row seats, Rick. We're gonna see him make the new universe.
Starting point is 01:55:20 And then he releases us and says, go run, enjoy it. It's all yours. Devil free, sickness free, pain free, go, go, go, enjoy it. It's like turning kids loose on a playground. Oh, my, I love my father. Oh my, I love my father. So our hope is anchored in the reliability of God promises have already been fulfilled. He said that persevere, be patient in tribulation. Just endure hardships with courage.
Starting point is 01:56:21 It's only for a season. Even if the season is a lifetime. It's for a season. Even if the season is a lifetime. It's still a season. It's still a small season compared to eternity. Just endure it. There have been Christians who are today in labor camps in North Korea, who have been there for decades, and they're joyful. They're patient in tribulation. Thank God we haven't experienced anything like this in our country. But there are Christians this very hour who are persecuted,
Starting point is 01:57:07 who are in tribulation. But there can be personal trials. There can be difficult situations that you have to go through. And they might last years. Be patient, persevere, don't give up, have hope, hold fast to your hope that is rooted in the reliability of God's Word and His promises. Be continually instant in prayer. Maintain a persistent devoted prayer life has you in communion with your father. I would encourage you, I would encourage you to not have religious prayers. Just talk. Just talk to your father. And let him talk to you. It's two-way communication.
Starting point is 01:58:36 And be ready for that communication at any moment of the day, instant in prayer. I think there should be set aside times for prayer, but Paul is saying here, you know what, you need to be entering into a lifestyle of prayer. Yes. And where in any moment you can slide right into a conversation with your father and a genuine conversation. Instant in prayer. That removes the religiosity out of it that way. I will say something without going into detail because it's personal.
Starting point is 01:59:21 Since the beginning of the year, my morning prayers have been like inner healing sessions. And God's doing something inside me. And this morning I said to him at the, as I was getting ready to end my prayer, I said, Father, I feel like I should just, I should just lie down on the sofa and talk to you. What do you charge for these sessions? That's what it felt like. And I'm saying it with sweetness. I know what he's doing.
Starting point is 02:00:15 He's having very intimate talks with me and getting to the root of matters and getting me to open up and I'm seeing things and things are, it's just different. I wish I probably should be writing it all down. It'd be a deep book. In fact, I got a title for it, Doc. I'll tell you afterwards. Okay. It came to me today. But Rick, when you love somebody, you're communicating with them, you're having conversations with them.
Starting point is 02:00:58 Yes. My wife, Mia and I, we occasionally go out for dinner. We have conversations at dinner, but that's not the only conversation we have. It's not some special set aside time where we just speak to each other. We're communicating around the house.
Starting point is 02:01:19 If we're out doing yard work, we're talking, we're chatting. We're communicating, why? Because we care for each other, we love each other. And because I know nothing about plants, so she needs to tell me what to do. So, sometimes love requires instruction. And so, but the point is that when you love somebody, you're communicating with them. Yes. You're instantly communicating.
Starting point is 02:01:44 You don't think about it. It's not a plan. At another level than you would with just ordinary acquaintances. Right. So, what are we learning here so far? The first 12 verses of chapter 12. Our lives are to be a living sacrifice. We are to have a renewed mind. We are to have humble faith. We are to seek a unified body in the church. We are to have diverse gifts.
Starting point is 02:02:16 We are to express sincere love, brotherly affection. We are to be fervent in service to God and that service to God is to be sustained through hope, endurance, and prayer. Those are the messages so far in the first 12 verses of Romans Are we to be rejoicing in hope? Not just have hope, but rejoice in hope. And that rejoicing in hope will help you to endure tribulation. And if you're persistent in prayer, you will endure tribulation. And if you're persistent in prayer, you will endure tribulation and you will rejoice in hope. If you're going through a difficult time, or if you're dealing with difficult people, whatever it is, stop talking to God
Starting point is 02:03:28 in prayer about those people. Just stop talking about them. Because what you really want is God to smack them in the face. You won't come out and say it, but that's what you want. Lord, smite them. Right. Say it like that, that way it's holy and righteous. Smite them, Lord. Instead, say, God. Bless them. What do you desire to produce in me as these people behave this way?
Starting point is 02:04:13 Whatever the situation is, whatever the situation, okay? It could be a financial situation. What are you seeking to change in me, produce in me? Put the focus on you, not somebody else. And let God talk to you. Um... Many years ago, there was a person that came against our ministry in a legal way, and we got entangled in a lawsuit. And this guy was out for blood.
Starting point is 02:05:01 He had a lot of money. He was out for blood. He had a lot of money. He was out for blood. He was a corrupt businessman. And I stood up to him. It was a long, long time ago. And I stood up to him and said, No, you've done this to other men. Because I found out he had a habit of doing this to ministries Okay and I said Well, this is where it stops you're not going to do it to me what it got to be a really long drawn-out fight And one night this is back when I lived in texas
Starting point is 02:05:44 And I Have a habit of walking at night. When I live in the country, I live, you know, can walk at night and pray. And I was outside walking in the countryside. We had 15 acres there. So I had to, wasn't like I was wandering on the road somewhere. But I was praying and I said, I was worn out and I said, God, you, you called me to win souls, not lawsuits. Tomorrow, I'm going to call my lawyer and tell him that our opponent can have anything we own. If he takes it all, so be it.
Starting point is 02:06:30 But I'm gonna be out of this lawsuit tomorrow. And I'm gonna go back to doing what I'm supposed to be doing, which is winning souls. I went over to our lawyer's office and gave him that instruction. And he's like looking at me, like, is this for real? Yes, sir. Are you nuts? Yeah. And while we were talking, this true story, folks. And I'll be honest with you, here's what the lawyer was saying. He goes, Rick, don't do this. Don't do this. File bankruptcy. Don't
Starting point is 02:07:00 let him have anything. Actually, no, this is I'm telling you, I'm giving him everything. While he was talking, his phone rang and he's talking. And I see this look on his face and he goes, yes, sir, yes, sir. All right, I'll tell him. He hung up, he ended the call and he looked at me and goes, okay, now I know you really walk with God. I said, Why?
Starting point is 02:07:27 He said, That's your opponent's lawyer. And they just offered you a settlement and they're going to pay you money. And you were the one being sued? Yes, yes. I was the one being sued. And I'm there saying, all right, give him everything. I'm going back to winning souls.
Starting point is 02:07:49 And God moved on that man's heart. Something happened in that wicked old man's heart that morning and he said, I'm out of this lawsuit. Call his lawyer, give him some money and let's get out of it. That's a true story. Be patient in tribulation. Endure. Don't get on the devil's level, okay? He wants to pull you down to his gutter and get you to slug it out in the gutter. What flows through a gutter?
Starting point is 02:08:34 Sewage. Yeah. So that's what you're going to be slinging. So you get out of it, get back up on high ground, and the Lord will fight your battles. You submit to His ways. Verse 13. I don't know why I told that story. I have a feeling somebody is in a legal mess and you need to hear that story.
Starting point is 02:09:06 Just submit to the Lord. Let him fight the battle for you. Verse 13, distributing to the necessity of saints given to hospitality. Believers should generously share their resources to meet the practical needs of fellow Christians. That's what giving to the necessity of saints didn't say to the lust of saints, didn't say to the greed of saints, to the necessity of saints. When a family is without food, give them food. If they are without oil for their furnace in the wintertime, fill their tank up. If their gas tank is empty, buy them gasoline.
Starting point is 02:10:02 If they don't have a winter coat, buy it. You know, if they see their children did not dress well for the winter, go to the store and buy coats for them. It's a real simple command, distributing to the necessity of saints, meeting their necessities, food, shelter, clothing, because this strengthens the body of Christ.
Starting point is 02:10:31 You know, James said, hey, somebody, if you see somebody that's without, and you pray, well, I hope the Lord meets your need, and you didn't do anything, You've got faith without works. You had the opportunity to do something. You ever had somebody? You got a great need and you're telling them your need. And they go, brother, sister, let me pray for you.
Starting point is 02:11:02 Oh God, this family's without food. Please bring some food to them. And then they go on their way. And then they go to church and they witness, yes, I ministered to a family that was without food. You didn't give them anything. Just do it, just give them anything. Just do it. Just give them what they need.
Starting point is 02:11:30 If they're in the body of Christ. If they are in the body of Christ. Given to hospitality, now this one, you only understand this if you go to the Middle East and be around Arabs. They will teach you hospitality. When Paul wrote this, he's in a Middle Eastern culture. Yes. Doc and I have told us many times, when you're in Arab countries, you start talking to strangers before you know it. They're trying to get you to come over to their house for dinner. They're taking you by the hand and they're walking you down the street. My house is just over here.
Starting point is 02:12:20 I want you to meet my family. We're preparing dinner right now. Yes. We had on our trips to Jordan, we had dinners in homes. I'm like, who are we meeting with right now? Oh, they heard that you're here and they just want to have dinner with you. Who are they? I don't know who we are, who we're meeting with. That's just the hospitality of the Arabs. Yeah. But this is, this is supposed to be the attitude of the church. Right. And think about, and think about in Paul's day, we didn't have like the Motel 6 or Hampton Inn everywhere, hotels all over the place.
Starting point is 02:13:05 Motel 6 or Hampton Inn, everywhere, hotels all over the place. And, you know, if you didn't have a place to stay, you slept outside, which could be dangerous. Yes. In our time, wild people. In our age, in our day, bringing a stranger into your house is dangerous. Yes. You don't know who you're bringing in. I don't know how to deal with this verse because of the change in culture. Well, I think part of it, Rick, is our priority has to be for brothers and sisters in Christ, especially. You know, where it says, you know, distributing to the necessity of saints given to hospitality. So the way I'm looking at it, it's not limited
Starting point is 02:13:54 to saints, but there's a priority to make sure saints, you know, yesterday, you and Susan shared with me the story of someone that we both know that she happened to run into. And so after work yesterday, I went over to where he was supposed to be looking for him. Oh, I know who you're talking about. Trying to find him. I checked every place in the location where he had told me where he was at. I couldn't find him.
Starting point is 02:14:31 I was not going to let him go another day without something happening in his life. I won't go into a lot of details, but that prompted me. And then we have this verse today. It's like You know Lord. I'm glad I was a day ahead on this verse. I was pursuing Hospitality I was pursuing it. I really tried and in and in God's eyes doc you have already done it The act of seeking to do it is the equivalent of doing it. It really is by the heart.
Starting point is 02:15:13 It's the same as though you have found him and gave him a place to stay. In your heart you had every intention of doing it. That's what God's looking for. What's in your heart? So verse 13 is telling us to share our resources with fellow Christians, distribute to the saints' necessities, show hospitality, open up your house. How many Christian homes never have anybody over for the purpose of ministering to the body of Christ. Just open up your homes to the body of Christ if it's just for a dinner. I was telling somebody yesterday, one of our staff members, I was talking about the founder of my hometown. And so this was, I think he founded the city,
Starting point is 02:16:27 I wanna say 1730 something in Maryland. And this is in Western Maryland, which was mountainous. Okay, and anyhow, he was German. Everybody was German, okay. And, but I was, when I lived there, I was studying him. He was a devout Moravian Christian. He belonged to the Moravian Church. In Germany, which was a awesome church at that time.
Starting point is 02:17:02 But I came across a historical book and they had translated German reformed church missionaries, no not German reform, Moravian church missionaries. They had trans, this historian had transcribed these letters written by Moravian missionaries from Germany in the 1700s. And one thing that stood out, Doc, is that, mind you, these letters were written by missionaries living in Germany in the early 1700s. Okay. And it said to another brother, when you go to America, if you can make your way to the colony of Maryland, which
Starting point is 02:17:55 is what Maryland was, Mary's land, Queen Mary's land, if you can make it there, and you can journey westward and find the home of brother so-and-so, he will show you hospitality. I think about this. You get missionaries in Europe who said, if you cross the sea and you can, you manage to get so far inland into the woods and you can find this guy's house, he'll show you hospitality.
Starting point is 02:18:39 That's all they had to do is show up and knock on his door. Hey, we're brothers. We're here serving the Lord. And that man's family would invite them in, take care of them. They were practicing hospitality. They were given to hospitality, given to it. Means it is just part of their nature. Okay, I'm over time again. Let's wrap it up.
Starting point is 02:19:15 Alright. Well, we've got another great lesson here on Practical Christian Living today, Rick. And they were a couple of commented how heavy it was. They didn't realize how heavy it really was. Yes, this is heavy. And they said the craftsmanship is just stellar. And it really is. It is. It's really just art. It really is a piece of religious art. And it's a conversation piece in your home. People will,
Starting point is 02:21:06 in fact, it had that has exactly happened, Rick. I've got a resurrection cross at the house, and we had some visitors the other night. And they saw that and this, where did you get that? Where? And I, oh man, I'll talk to the races. Well, let me tell you. So anyway, it can be a real blessing for you, and it definitely will help the minister as well. So I encourage you to, if you want more information, click on faithandvalues.com or truenews.com. You'll see the banner for the resurrection cross there. So any final thoughts or words here before we close? Yeah, I just had another memory about the Moravian Church. Back in the 1700s, they started a prayer meeting and they were praying 24 hours a day. There were people in the church, and we're talking a specific church there were people in the church somebody
Starting point is 02:22:08 was praying 24 hours a day there not one person but there were shifts shifts of people coming into the church praying and there was not one minute during the day that there wasn't people in the church praying right how long do you think that prayer meeting lasted you know doc you know the answer to this over a hundred years it's 100 years it took a hundred years to cool down that's a prayer meeting. And speaking of prayer meetings, we will be getting together tomorrow evening for prayer, for our global prayer meeting. That's 8 p.m. It's going to be right here on faithandvalues.com.
Starting point is 02:22:58 So be watching for the announcements and alerts related to that. Some of you have already received that but you're invited to come and pray with us And for us as we take this new step of faith and ministry So we encourage you that's tomorrow evening 8 p.m. Here on faith and values calm Anything else today Rick? No, sir. All right. Take care. See you tomorrow. God bless you We'll see on the next edition of morning, man
