TRUNEWS with Rick Wiles - Pro-Gun Rights James Shaw Running for Florida Agriculture Commissioner

Episode Date: March 28, 2022

Presently, the State of Florida is a Republican state. All statewide offices except one are held by conservative Republicans. The state legislature is also controlled by Republicans. The lone statewid...e Democrat in Florida is Nikki Fried. She was elected four years ago as Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture.Nikki Fried is not a liberal Democrat. She is a far-leftist Democrat. A lot of Floridians were surprised she won the Ag Commissioner race. It is doubtful that Nikki Fried ever visited a farm in her life prior to running for the state’s commissioner of agriculture. The good news is that Nikki Fried is not running for re-election. The other good news is that she is running for Governor of Florida and Ron DeSantis will put an end to her political career. Nobody will defeat Ron DeSantis in 2022.Why am I talking about the Florida Ag Commissioner? Two reasons. Number one, the office is one of the most powerful state offices in Florida. In addition to overseeing Florida’s vast farming industry, the commissioner also runs the state’s department of consumer affairs. Number two, the Ag Commissioner is the Florida official who decides who is given concealed carry permits. For the past four years, Floridians have had a far-left gun grabber in the office that regulates concealed gun permits. The third reason I'm talking about this job today is that we have a man running for the position who is a real Christian, a real patriot, and a real farmer. Most of you already know him. His name is James Shaw.Mr. Shaw is a husband married to his wife for 40 years, father of 8 children, grandfather to 20 grandchildren, a 12th generation American citizen, a Colgate University graduate, and a successful businessman and farmer. Starting point is 00:00:00 The following program is made possible by the faithful prayers and financial support of listeners just like you. To find out how you can help, visit www.truenews.com. This is True News, the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help us God. I'm Rick Wiles. Presently, the state of Florida is a Republican state. All statewide offices except one are held by conservative Republicans. The state legislature is also controlled by Republicans. The lone statewide Democrat in Florida is Nikki Freed. She was elected four years ago as Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture. Nikki Freed is not a liberal Democrat. She is a far-left Democrat. A lot of Floridians were surprised, in fact shocked,
Starting point is 00:01:08 she won the Ag Commissioner race. It's doubtful that Nikki Freed ever visited a farm in her life prior to running for the state's Commissioner of Agriculture. The good news is that Nikki Freed is not running for re-election. The other good news is that she's running for governor of Florida, and Ron DeSantis will put an end to her political career. Nobody will defeat Ron DeSantis in 2022. So why am I talking about the Florida Ag Commissioner? Well, three reasons. Number one, the office is one of the most powerful
Starting point is 00:01:47 state offices in Florida. In addition to overseeing Florida's vast farming industry, the Commissioner also runs the state's Department of Consumer Affairs. Number two, the Ag Commissioner is the Florida official who decides who is given concealed carry permits. Now, for the past four years, Floridians have had a far left gun grabber in the office that regulates concealed gun permits. The third reason I'm talking about this job today is that we have a man running for the position who is a real Christian, a real patriot, and a real farmer. His name is James Shaw, and Mr. Shaw is a husband, married to his wife for 39 years, father of eight children, grandfather to 20 grandchildren, a 12th generation American citizen, a Colgate University graduate, and a successful businessman and farmer. His website is votegym.us. And James Shaw is here with me today. Hey, James.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Hey, how you doing, Rick? I'm doing good. Why? You've got a successful farm here in Florida. Why do you want to be the state ag commissioner? Well, Rick, I couldn't really take it anymore. But first of all, I just want to tell everybody, I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't party, I'm not on any antidepressants and I'm faithful to my wife. Now, I'm not telling you that just to be virtuous, but in this day and age, we need politicians that are sane, sober-minded to make the right decisions. So I just want to come out with that first off. That's right. Well, good. That's right. You're a devout Christian
Starting point is 00:03:45 man. You're a good family man. 20 grandchildren. You got me beat by 10. I'm up to 22. 22? And I've been married 40 years. 40? All right. I got to get my bio correct for you the next time. So these are attributes that are not common today. Staying married, being faithful, taking care of your children, your grandchildren, running a successful business. State Ag Commissioner. Now, we've got a lot of people watching who are not Floridians, but we have a lot of Floridians who are watching. And they're going to be voting in their Republican primary in the state of Florida. You will be on the ballot for state ag commissioner. You're running for the Republican nomination. For the past four years, we've had an extreme far left ultra socialist Democrat in that office who is a gun grabber.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Yes. And she has been overseeing the concealed carry permits. I said in my intro, I seriously doubt she's ever been on a farm before she ran for office. Do you have, what is her, what is her knowledge of farming? How in the world did Nikki Freed ever get elected state ag commissioner? Well, I have absolutely no answer to that, to tell you the truth. However, I can tell you with a half an hour to go in the election, Matt Caldwell, who was running for the Republican side, was up by 50,000 votes in Abracadabra.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Something took place within a half hour. And out of 9 million votes, Nikki Freed won by 6,000 votes with basically a half an hour left in the election with the votes coming from South Florida without going into too many things. Like Broward County? Yes, you got it.
Starting point is 00:05:43 You got it. And it was basically the same thing with the big election, but not a cricket out of anything fighting it. It was pretty unbelievable. And we almost got a drug addict, prostitute-visiting Democrat candidate for governor. Well, let me give you some...
Starting point is 00:06:04 Mr. Gillum. He came very close to winning that election. DeSantis had gotten 4,076,000 votes. Gillum got 4,043,000 votes. That's 49.6% versus 49.2%. We're here talking up Florida because of our governor. We loved it. The place was open. It might have shut down for a little bit of time, but we became serious-minded, and he kept the ball rolling. We loved DeSantis. Can you imagine what our lives would have been like the last two years if Gilliam had been elected governor? Well, my attitude on that is... We've been worse than Illinois or New York or California.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Exactly, Rick. It could have been New York, Illinois, California, Michigan. We would have been in a bad way without DeSantis being our governor. And the thing about it is, let's talk about voting, because we're getting into this of what position you're running for, voting. New York City is a city of 8.6 million people. And if you really do your research, that's more populous than 38 European countries. Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Slovenia, three or four. So we're talking about a city that's the size of a country, of which 5.6 million people are voting age.
Starting point is 00:07:29 In the last election for mayor in New York City, 1.1 million voted. just passed a law and legalized 800,000 non-citizens, non-citizens, and gave them the right to vote in local elections from now on. So think about it. 1.1 million voted, and he's legalizing 800,000 non-citizens to vote. You know what the Democrats are doing? Well, there well several reasons what
Starting point is 00:08:06 they're doing jim because patriots are are rising up and demanding voter identification laws and proving that the people who are voting uh are actual american citizens. So the Democrats are saying, okay, we'll go one better than that. Yes. We'll just, we won't sneak in illegals and allow them to vote. We'll just legalize it. Yes. They don't even have to be citizens. We'll just legalize non-citizens voting in American elections. This is incredible. At this point, the country's lost. It's gone, politically it's gone. Because anybody can come here and vote now. Right, and it's moving on to. Five years from now, Jim, they'll be saying,
Starting point is 00:08:53 a citizen living in another country, if they choose to vote in an American election, will have the right to vote. Yes, it's incredible, and it's moving on to Vermont and Massachusetts also. And even though I'm running for agricultural commissioner, voting is the foundation of everything. That's why I want to start talking about that. We have to realize what's going on.
Starting point is 00:09:12 And as ag commissioner, you have your governor, attorney general, lieutenant general, chief financial officer, and then your agricultural commissioner, which are basically the cabinet members for the governor. Very high position as far as decision making discussions go. So you have to be a guardian and you have to see what's going on in other states to protect your state so the same insane reasoning doesn't enter in. Yes. So a good guardian just doesn't, how he protects his state, he sees basically what the crazies are doing around him to make sure it doesn't happen on his watch. That's right.
Starting point is 00:09:52 And that's the situation we're in right now. I'm watching what happened in New York. I see it going on in Vermont, Massachusetts. We have a great state here. But as you said, if the governor race would have went 0.5% differently, it'd be a whole different ballgame in Florida. That's right. And there wouldn't be a lot of people moving here. There'd be a lot of people moving out. Yes. Yes. Trying to get out of the place because the loss of freedom. State Ag Commissioner, you're a farmer. Yes. A lot of people don't know how important farming is in the state of Florida.
Starting point is 00:10:28 This is a big farming state. Yes, it is. When you drive from, we're on the east coast on the Atlantic side, and when we leave Vero Beach and drive westward, there is nothing between here. Well, I say nothing. There is nothing between here, well I say nothing, there's small towns. But until you get to the
Starting point is 00:10:50 Gulf side, to Tampa, it's just farms and ranches. This is a huge farming state. It's a huge cattle state. Maybe not so much in corn and wheat products, but as far as vegetables, fruit, we supply everybody.
Starting point is 00:11:05 It's a big state and it has to be guarded. We have to protect it, especially with all the people that are coming into the state. We need our water tables about, my goodness, on my farm, I could hit water at 10 feet. When it's dry, I'm hitting water at four feet. It has to be protected. But yes, we are an ag state. But the agricultural commissioner, 3,600 employees on his watch, 300 different commodities,
Starting point is 00:11:30 18 different departments. You need a manager. And that's what I am by trade also. I was in the freight business for 20 years, give or take. And I was a manager of 600 employees. 525 were teamsters. Local 430 up in Harrisburg.
Starting point is 00:11:45 So I cut my teeth on dealing with some tough, tough, tough eggs, how to cut deals, negotiate, no one to keep my mouth shut, no one to jump up and down and scream. So I have the capability of managing. And you need a manager who has the ability, fatherly tendencies to protect the state and also guard it from the ideas coming from other states. Okay, let's talk about some really far out crazy ideas that are circulating right now on the left coast of America. The far leftists who really at this point, Jim, they are, they're mentally ill. Yes.
Starting point is 00:12:32 I mean, I don't know what else to say. Their behavior, their thinking, it's so distorted, so weird, so bizarre. So there is, is it the state of Oregon? Yes. so there is is it the state of oregon yes oregon there's a petition drive right now to get a state referendum on the ballot that the voters could decide yes or no whether to pass the law what is this what is this referendum they want to have well first of all i don't know if it's embarrassing or uh all out crazy to even discuss this topic, but it's a reality. We have to go outside the box to discuss any of these things right now
Starting point is 00:13:09 because they're so out of the realm of what we're used to. But it's called, I want to get it here right, it's called IP13. And it would classify slaughter as an aggravated abuse and redefined castration is sexual abuse abuse no animals could be killed or forcibly impregnated this sounds insane but you could not take meat off a cat of you know a cow or whatever cattle unless it fell over dead you would not be able to slaughter it. You wouldn't be able to use artificial insemination. You wouldn't be able to hunt, fish, or trap.
Starting point is 00:13:51 Let me read this. The initiative wouldn't ban agriculture entirely, nor would it abolish the sale of meat, leather, or fur in Oregon, but livestock would have to die of natural causes before it could be used for food production and forced impregnation of livestock would be outlawed, he said. Violators would face criminal prosecution. And the bill is called Yes on IP 13. And what's scary is if they get 120,000 vote signatures, which they're going to get, and they get it on the ballot and they're going to put it under the heading animal cruelty, it's going to be a bait for people to just say yes. It's where America is heading.
Starting point is 00:14:37 This is a form of starving us, killing us. Last, let's see, last year, late last year, when they had the climate change summit, was it Paris? I forget which city that they were in. The big topic was eliminating meat, eliminating, basically eliminating farms. You can see where they're going.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Their plan is to eliminate all meat and to feed us with laboratory-grown meat. I'm not talking about plant-based food. I'm not talking about veggie burgers. I'm talking about fake meat grown in a laboratory. That's what's going to be sold at the grocery store. That's where they're going. And they're doing it from a carbon neutral position that they've got to stop greenhouse gases and you know cows are releasing too much gas in the air and farming has got to be curtailed look you got big banks and corporations
Starting point is 00:15:57 signing off on this craziness right farmers are going to find themselves in a few years unable to get bank loans unable to get financing. They're already doing it to the oil industry and coal, where the big banks at the biggest level, the highest level, have made a decision. They're no longer going to finance oil and gas and coal industries. They're going to starve them out. At some point, they're going to do it to the farmers. Now, what's interesting, the job that you're running for, Ag Commissioner,
Starting point is 00:16:33 it's also the Consumer Affairs Commissioner. Yes. So does this job have any, do you have any oversight over banks in the state of Florida? Well, mainly it's about permits, issuing permits and licensing when you're talking about consumer. Like if you go to a gas station, you see agricultural commissioner on the label. If you go to a weights and measures, you see agricultural relations anywhere. But the thing is, Rick, let me digress on this
Starting point is 00:17:05 serious issue of food. Ultimately, I don't care what state you're from, pay attention to who your ag commissioner is, because you can't eat gold and silver. You can't eat your 401k. You can't eat anything that comes in the form of a paycheck. All right? What we need is food to survive. And we're getting to that point where we're going to get baseline in this issue. And if they starve the farmers out with silly things like this, can you imagine if the person that was in charge of your state's agricultural commissioner was for this, for this, he would starve you out. And we would be eating crickets. And we would be eating crickets and we would be eating
Starting point is 00:17:46 mealworms, just like you said with the globalist agenda. We learned in the past two years that state health commissioners are extremely powerful. Yes. And most people never paid attention to that position. But these health commissioners turned into little dictators. So what you're saying is pay attention to the AG commissioner because if a leftist climate change fanatic gets that job, they're gonna put the squeeze on farmers. Right. The person in this job along with any political position, has to have a correct conviction. Your conviction has to be righteous. There's a lot of convictions going on. You have to say, what is his viewpoints on this? Is he sane? Is he sober in his viewpoints?
Starting point is 00:18:36 Just like I started out when I talked about it. I want people to have a sane, sober mind, to make sane, sober decisions. And that's what we need now. Now, you mentioned mentioned health which is interesting because this position of agricultural commissioner is in charge of concealed carry weapons and the reason why it's in charge of concealed carry weapons 20 years ago the NRA it used to be done by the state police the NRA said we want an elected official to give out the permits for guns. So that's why it came about, just so we know why it's under that heading.
Starting point is 00:19:13 And the fact of the matter is the CDC, which is your giant health organization, is actually trying to say now that guns, there's mental issues, health issues, and they're going to have to get involved with the guns. So they're trying to put guns, not just with the manufacturers, but now with health issues, trying to take them away. So we're going to have CDC guidelines to states, counties, and cities about who is allowed to own a gun. You got it. And Rick, bottom line again, Mao, Chinese chairman that started the whole show with the communists with China,
Starting point is 00:19:47 first took the guns away and then killed 80 million people. Stalin took the guns away, killed 60 million people. Hitler took the guns away, killed 13 million people. Pol Pot in the killing fields took the guns away, killed 1,000 people. Pol Pot in the killing fields took the guns away, killed a thousand people. The Turks took the guns away and committed genocide or attempted to on all the Armenians. And if you want to go back a little farther,
Starting point is 00:20:14 King George tried taking the guns away from the colonists. So we might all be eating fish and chips right now if we packed in our guns. So a little history on gun control. And in fact, Paul, I think he killed 3 million people. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:30 He was up in the millions. Killing few. Yeah, but the pattern is the same. Yes. And all of them were socialist communists. Yes. Okay, including Hitler. Right.
Starting point is 00:20:41 They don't like to admit it. They always want to say Hitler was a right-winger. No, he wasn't. It was a National Socialist Workers Party. That's socialism. Sure. And whenever socialists and communists get in power, the first thing they, well, isn't it interesting? They attack the churches.
Starting point is 00:21:02 They shut down the churches. They imprison the pastors. They shut down the churches. They imprison the pastors. They confiscate the guns. They round up those who are educated. In some of these countries, they rounded up anybody who wore glasses because they said, that means you read books. That means you think. We have to get rid of you.
Starting point is 00:21:20 And it's the censorship. And we're watching this happen in the United States of America right now that we're at a place right now in this country that you have powerful corporations, social media, tech companies determining not only that you can't express your view, but the president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, is not permitted to express his opinion. This is outrageous that this is going on. I mean, last week, President Trump was holding a rally, and his rallies are always live streamed by Right Side Broadcasting. So, was it YouTube, I guess, or Google, yeah, suspended the account like a day or two before the rally.
Starting point is 00:22:15 Right? And then, you know, unsuspended after the rally. Right. If 10 years ago, if someone had said to you, James, there's going to be a day in the 2020s when a president of the United States will be censored and not allowed to speak. People will be ostracized. Their voices will be silenced. They'll lose their jobs.
Starting point is 00:22:40 They'll lose their bank accounts. They'll lose their careers if they speak their mind. Would you have believed that 10 years ago? No, I wouldn't have. But I do understand as I get older and I study a little bit more, the first commandment or the first amendment, speech, freedom of speech. It only took two amendments to say you need a gun. So what were the founding fathers saying?
Starting point is 00:23:01 To take care of our speech, you better have some arms because somebody's going to try to take it over and i think we're at that state right now yes and so that brings us back to state ag commissioner yes who regulates which citizens in the state of florida are permitted to have a permit to carry a gun right now. Now, people can have debates and arguments about, well, do they need a permit? Okay, bottom line is, that's the law in the state of Florida, and what you want to make sure is that the person who is in that job is a absolute proponent and defender of the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution because for the past four years we've had an enemy of the Second Amendment sure
Starting point is 00:23:49 holding that position and that's a scary thought that that people could be disarmed law-abiding citizens could be disarmed because of their political views yes and that's where I see this going. So you're in this race. You have, what, one opponent right now? Yes. Okay. Wilton Simpson.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Who is the president of the Florida State Senate? Yes. Okay. So you got quite a challenge ahead of you. That's okay. But you're campaigning a lot,'t you yes i am and i'm doing a lot in gun shows because you get good patriots at these gun shows i'm going to rec events uh but the day of the uh the 401k golf cart republican is about shot people are waking up
Starting point is 00:24:42 people are realizing what's going on. The last election with Trump, to a degree, that's what got me in this race. I think we have a video. I don't know. I didn't ask our guys in the control room. I think we have a video that somebody took with their phone of you speaking last
Starting point is 00:25:00 week at a Palm Beach County Republican meeting. And the audio, let's see let's see if we have it I don't know maybe maybe stop Stalin took the guns away till 80 million Russians took the guns away till 13 million Germans mountain to go away kill 80 million Chinese. Pol Pot took the guns away. Total million Cambodians. They will not take any guns away on my watch. Department of Agriculture is in charge
Starting point is 00:25:30 of concealed carry permits. I will defend you. 20 seconds. Thank you. When you get applause in Palm Beach County, you're doing pretty good. Good people. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:49 People are waking up. They aren't just concerned, as I said, anymore about their golf carts and their 401ks. You would think Palm Beach County would be a golf course Republican meeting. You would, but not anymore. It's not the quote-unquote George Bush Republican like it used to be. It's also the home county of Donald Trump. It absolutely is. And people realize what's going down going on down there.
Starting point is 00:26:13 And they like to eat like the rest of us also. What's the mood out there as your campaign? You're going to county fairs. You're going to gun shows. You're going to all the festivals. One of the things here in Florida is the calendar is reversed like if you live in a northern state or you know most other states your your community events your
Starting point is 00:26:37 carnivals and fairs and festivals are in the summertime in Florida they're in the wintertime yes because in the summer, everybody's indoors with the AC running. But here in the wintertime, that's when you get out to meet people. So what's the mood of the people as you are campaigning in these community events? Well, you sure hear the word Nikki Freed quite a bit. Really? All right. And not the most positive sense it's amazing even though you're running for ag people tend to realize guns are involved rick 95 percent of people that approach me are talking about guns guns really they're scared of gun control and they know what biden's after and they bring up nikki fried yes they all the time the time. Because, you know, Biden's in his castle, and he has his minions doing his dirty work for him.
Starting point is 00:27:29 So basically, everybody in a political position, as you said, in the cabinet, she's the only Democrat in that Republican cabinet with DeSantis. And it shows. So a lot of, because it's a paperwork department, a lot of permits were held up, things were done that shouldn't have been done, and the people are upset about it. But I was amazed. I thought people would be talking about slaughtering hogs or milking cows or working on fields, but no, it's guns. It's such a big topic.
Starting point is 00:27:59 It's incredible. Well, that's going to be in your favor. Yes. And it's going to be in your favor to win the Republican primary. Yes. I think you're going to be the biggest upset story of 2022. And we're going to do it in the whole country. Well, I want to be a guardian. I want to guard the state. I want to protect the state. And like your opening phrase, I have eight children. I have 22 grandchildren. It's not about me. It's about them. I could be on the golf course. I have eight children. I have 22 grandchildren. It's not about me. It's about them. I could be on the golf course. I could be on the beach. What good is it if it's lost for my
Starting point is 00:28:31 offspring? And that's my mentality. That's where I'm at, James. The only reason I keep coming in here, I look at these 10 grandchildren that I have and I love them with all my heart. And I think I can't stop. I can't quit. They will never have what you and I love them with all my heart and I think I can't stop I can't quit they they will never have what you and I had growing up they'll never know it they'll never know the America we knew right it doesn't even exist anymore you all you can try to do is tell them stories about it but we've got to fight to to stop the radicals from completely dismantling this country and taking us into a socialist communist nightmare, which is what they have planned for us. Hey, I appreciate James Shaw being here today.
Starting point is 00:29:17 If you want to know more about his campaign, his website is VoteJim.us. VoteJim.us. VoteJim.us. He's a Republican candidate for Florida Ag Commissioner. It's the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. That's the official name. But if you live in the state of Florida, I'd encourage you to get involved in the 2022 election. Governor DeSantis is running for re-election. James Shaw is running for state ag commissioner.
Starting point is 00:29:50 Every state and county office is up for grabs this year. A lot of people running, and people need to make sure that your voice is heard. Don't let them steal another election. The last thing we need is for them to do their shenanigans like they did in 2020 and defeat Ron DeSantis. I'm going to tell you right now, if Ron DeSantis loses this election in Florida, you know it is a corrupt, illegal election because Ron DeSantis is so popular in the state of Florida. There is nobody who's going to beat him in a fair and legitimate election.
Starting point is 00:30:35 It's just not going to happen. The man is extremely popular in the state of Florida. And I am so glad to see Nikki Freed running for that office because Ron DeSantis is going to crush her in that election. And she will just fade away and never be seen or heard of again unless George Soros gives her a job. That's it for today's edition of True News. Thank you so much. Doc Burkhart is on his way home. He will be back here tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:31:04 I love you very much. See you tomorrow. The preceding program was made possible by the faithful prayers and financial support of listeners just like you. To find out how you can help, visit www.truenews.com.
