This is True News, the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help us God.
I'm Doc Burkhardt filling in for Rick Walls, who is traveling back from the nation of Jordan as we speak.
So please keep him in
prayer. Vladimir Putin vowed on Friday that any country that dared attack Russia with nuclear
weapons would be wiped from the face of the earth. The Russian president said his country had no
mandate to launch a preventative first nuclear strike, unlike the United States, but that
advanced hypersonic weapons could ensure
it could respond forcefully if it came under attack. Mr. Putin also told reporters a deal
would ultimately need to be struck to end the conflict in Ukraine. He claimed the Kremlin was
open to reaching an agreement, but declared that trust with Western and Ukrainian powers
was almost zero.
Welcome to news here on a Friday edition of True News.
As I mentioned, Rick is on his way back from Jordan and was unable to connect with us today.
But the world keeps spinning and the news keeps going around and World War III is still underway.
Vladimir Putin making the threat to wipe out any nation that would deploy a nuke, as he would say in the news conference that he held earlier today.
Kind of insinuating that at some point someone could either plant a nuke or a nuke could actually go accidentally go off in the Russian nation.
And so we're going to be keeping a watch on this. Now, of course, the culprit behind such a deployment isn't necessarily limited to Ukraine, but to the powers that back up Ukraine, particularly NATO and in particular the United States.
So the United States could be the victim of the deployment of that wiping out by Russia.
We've taken with great confidence that we could win a nuclear war with
Russia, but it could get a lot uglier than that. Now, why would things like that break down so
much? Aren't we a protected nation? Aren't we a Christian nation? Surely no one could destroy the
United States of America with a nuclear attack or otherwise? Well, we learn from scripture that there are
nations that rise and fall and God judges nations based on their righteousness. And that's where our
next story leads us here. This is in Bloomberg. And this story we didn't get to yesterday because
of time constraints, but you've probably heard already this. The same sex marriage bill passed the House yesterday and went to President Biden for his signature.
The U.S. House, in a bipartisan vote, passed legislation that would provide federal overturned the Roe v. Wade decision that established what they say is the constitutional right to an abortion.
Now, the House voted 258 to 169 on Thursday to pass what they call the Respect for Marriage Act.
I call it the Dis Respect for Marriage Act. I call it the Disrespect for
Marriage Act. The House previously passed the measure in July, but it had to be taken up again
after the Senate amended the bill to include religious liberty provisions. 39 House Republicans
joined all the Democrats in support of the measure. Now, the Respect for Marriage Act would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act,
which defined marriage under U.S. law as between a man and a woman. Now, it would also extend all
federal benefits to all married couples. The Respect for Marriage Act would repeal the Defense
of Marriage Act. Though it would not require states to issue same-sex marriage licenses as the Oberfeld ruling
does, it would require them to recognize marriage licenses issued legally in other states regardless
of sex, race, ethnicity, or national origin. Now, new language was added by the Senate to ensure
that the measure does not infringe on religious liberty and conscious protections. Non-profit religious
organizations would not be required to provide services for any marriage celebration. It also
prohibits the bill from being used to deny or alter benefits unrelated to marriage, such as a
church or other non-, tax exempt status.
Well, that's all well and good, but that is a slippery slope that the Republicans,
if they'd held to their guns, we could have seen a lot of things that would have held in place there.
So this is where we're at in America right now, that out of the 50 states, if one state decided that a group of men or a group of women wanted to bind themselves in an agreement
and call it marriage, then the other 50 states would have to accept that and just go along with
it and just live with it. This is where we're at. Okay. This is where we have descended as a nation
now that these types of commitments and the slippery slope that has
taken place with regard to morality especially over the past 40 years has brought us to you know
when when I was a child to think about where we are now and I you know I sound like a really old
person they're commenting remember the old days well i do remember the old
days and the bible tells us to remember the times in the past and to keep those things in our memory
to imagine that people were listen i'm i'm not naive i know that there are people living together
uh men and uh living with men women living with women. I knew
that was going on, but nobody dared call it marriage at that time. Why? Because marriage
was considered a religious word. Imagine if the federal government came along and said,
from now on, we're going to define what a church is. Or better yet, let's use
the current situation. Let's call it the Respect for Church Act, okay? So let's say that the state
of California defined a church as, you know, a meeting and you had to have a pride flag at the
front, or it wasn't a church okay and then that federal law says all
right if they call that a church then the other 49 states have to call it a church too
would that bother you well it probably would bother a lot of people because they
recognize that a church is a religious word that has special meaning that that has meaning based in the scriptures.
Well, from my position, where I approach this issue regarding the Respect for Marriage Act,
is that the federal government is now taking a religious concept, which is marriage.
I call it a religious concept.
And now they have defined a religious concept. Now, basically the constitution says that the federal government cannot establish religion, but with this decision, basically they have,
because what they've said is we do not like the church's definition of marriage. So therefore we will take your definition and make
it something else. We have allowed this to happen in our nation. We've allowed this breakdown to
happen as a body of believers here in the United States and pastors in particular, because we did
not stand up and define marriage from the pulpit. Now they're defining marriage by law in Washington,
D.C. And guess what? There's not a thing that you can do about it. Not that you would do anything
about it anyway. But this is where we have gone as a nation now. You know, what are the implications
of this continued slide of morality? Well, I'll give you another example here.
Remember our good friend Sam Britton?
Oh, you remember him.
He's the nuclear waste disposal coordinator for the Biden administration or the deputy one.
I guess they have one higher than him.
This guy basically decides where nuclear waste goes.
Sam Britton, the cross-dressing nuclear waste expert,
remember about a week or so ago, he was accused of stealing some lady's luggage. Well, guess what?
He's at it again. The Energy Department official is accused of stealing more luggage from a Las
Vegas airport. An Energy Department official is accused of stealing luggage from Harry Reid Airport.
Channel 8 News, now investigators learned Thursday.
A felony warrant was issued for Sam Britton.
A deputy assistant secretary's sources said the charges for grand larceny
with a value between $1,200 and $5,000, records show. Now, Brinton is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition.
That's according to the Office of Nuclear Energy's website.
Brinton faced his charges for a similar incident at the Minneapolis airport.
He was on leave for that after charges were filed in connection with that incident,
an Energy Department spokesman said in November. So while he was on leave for stealing some lady's luggage, guess what?
He went and did it again.
How many times has this guy been stealing luggage that we don't know about?
But you see, here's where the rule is.
You can't criticize Sam Britton in today's culture.
Even if he steals luggage, you can't criticize him for it because we have to be open to diversity.
Here's a man wearing a dress and a beard, and he is basically given a free pass.
Democrats aren't going to say anything to him. And if Republicans say anything about it, it looks like that they are being mean and cold hearted and all these other things.
But as believers in the gospel of Jesus Christ, what this man is doing is sin.
By him dressing up as a woman, the Bible makes very clear his sin.
There's no question about it.
There's no ifs, ands, or buts
about it. A man pretending to be a woman or even halfway pretending to be a woman is a violation
of scripture. But you know what? There are no pastors and pulpits that will say anything about
this. And so not only does a man violate the scriptures by dressing up as a woman, but he gets a free pass at stealing luggage.
And has he even been suspended from the office of nuclear waste? No, he's just on leave right now
because you know what? They're afraid to touch him. I would be afraid to touch him anyway,
but they're afraid to touch him politically because of how he dresses and how he acts. That's where
we've slid to. That immorality trumps morality when it comes to our culture, our Western culture.
Another story that kind of reveals the curtain a little bit here about how far that we have
gone as a Western culture here comes. This is from Fox News.
I don't know if you've seen this story or not.
A high-ranking military official
was called to resign
after targeting a mom
upset over pansexuality posters at school.
So now here's a story.
This mom, she was concerned
about some of the different displays
that were being offered at her local school promoting pansexuality.
What is pansexuality? It is just anything goes.
You know, men, women, children, animals, whatever pansexuality, it just includes everything.
Pan means all.
Now, when she started questioning this and started being concerned for her child and exposure to the sexual perversion,
she started getting phone calls from a local military official and local police officials.
We have this report from Fox News and Tucker Carlson that lays out this
whole story. It's an incredible story. Watch this. So a few days ago, a mother in New Jersey called
Angela Redding found out that her child's elementary school was advertising something
called pansexuality. And she thought this seems a little much for an elementary school,
so she complained about it on Facebook.
What happened next didn't used to happen in this country
and never should.
And we only know about it
because of a substack called Chaos in Control,
which broke the story.
And as we read it, we thought this can't be real, but it is.
So in response to Angela Redding's post,
out of the blue, an army officer at Joint Base MDL,
it's a nearby military base,
called Angela Redding an extremist on Facebook. That officer is called Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Schilling. Schilling
then wrote on Facebook that, quote, the Joint Base leadership have had the security forces
working with multiple state and local law enforcement agencies to monitor this situation. What? So the military responded to a mom in an
elementary school complaining about the sexualization of her own child? That's a
warranted a military response under Joe Biden? Apparently it did. Then shortly after, the chief
of the North Hanover Police Department, Robert Duff, pressured Redding to delete her Facebook
post. Let that sink in. The police and the military
got involved because a mom wrote something on Facebook they didn't like. Today, Joint Base MDL
confirmed to the show that they, quote, notified law enforcement about the social media exchange,
which is common information sharing practice among law enforcement agencies. Except wait a second, a military base is not a
quote law enforcement agency. The purpose of the military is defend us from foreign enemies,
not to police our Facebook posts. This is mind boggling and we pray someone does something about
it. Angela Redding is the mother who wrote that Facebook post of the military shutdown. She joins
us tonight. Angela, thank you so much for being brave enough to come on. Were you a little surprised that the U.S. military weighed
in on your Facebook post? I was more than surprised. I was scared. I actually pulled
my kids from school the day I found out. It was mind-boggling and I was worried for them.
When the U.S. military comes after you for simply raising concern about a public poster
that is widely available for all to see.
It's just, it's mind-boggling, as you said.
And just to be clear, you weren't threatening war.
You didn't threaten to use nuclear weapons against the school, correct?
No, actually, my post was really moderate.
It essentially said that I didn't think my seven-year-old was age-appropriate
to be exposed to words such as polysexual and pansexual. I said that
all people are deserving of love and respect, that my post was very explicit about that.
And still it prompted this response. And it is really scary that in this country, we can't
have a right to speak and raise concerns about our public education system.
You live in an area with a lot of military families.
I know I think your children's school has a lot of military families in it.
I mean, you and I doubtless you respect the military because almost all Americans do.
Did you know that they're reading your Facebook posts?
I did not.
And I actually want to be really explicit.
I believe that our military personnel deserves the utmost love, admiration, and respect. I'm a daughter of a veteran. I live in a community with the military,
and these are phenomenal families. Our school district is phenomenal. The teachers in our
school district are phenomenal. I think this is a rogue actor, a bad faith actor, and I don't think
that we need to implicate the entire population. But I did not think that the military was monitoring mom's Facebook post.
No, I did not.
No. And you would hope that Lieutenant Colonel Schilling would be removed from his command tonight.
And we'll be seeing if he is.
What was the role of the police chief? Can you just tell us that quickly?
Yeah. So I actually got a call from the admin of the Facebook group. Again,
this is kind of ridiculous. We're talking about this. This was a, it's a parent's group that I
posted on. I got a call from the admin of the Facebook group saying that the police chief
contacted her to say that my post should be, should come down. And she said, what do you think?
I said, well, I don't want Homeland Security coming after me. Take the post down. And she said, what do you think? I said, well, I don't want Homeland Security
coming after me. Take the post down. Like, I don't want to be dealing with this. So I agreed
that the post could come down. I then contacted the police chief directly and reminded him of
the First Amendment and that we shouldn't be utilizing government resources and our positions
to pressure individuals to take down Facebook posts. And I also shared with him the post that he had already seen.
There was nothing wrong. It didn't violate any law.
It didn't violate any Facebook rule whatsoever.
So that's how that all happened.
And we're here today.
I hope Chief Huff is relieved of his post immediately, too.
So as we see in that particular story, there's pressure on families, ordinary moms and dads,
to bend to the will of the current morality of this nation, which is descending basically to the pits of hell.
And they'll use the military and the police to pressure you to do it.
The only criticism I would have in that report is I don't believe she should
have taken the post down at all. If they wanted to take it down, make them take it down. That would
be a direct violation of her free speech rights. I understand why she did it, keeping the peace,
maybe not wanting to further pressure her friends and family. But the fact of the matter is,
is when we compromise in areas like this,
when we give in in areas like this,
that the opportunity comes along for them to take more
and to take more and more of our particular rights.
Listen, the rights we were granted as a nation
weren't granted by a piece of paper.
They weren't granted by a man. No, when we established a nation, weren't granted by a piece of paper. They weren't granted by a man.
No, when we established this nation, we recognized God-given rights, granted by our creator.
And so we need to understand that there is, whether we like to admit or not, there is a
theological component to the rights that we have as citizens. And our
founding fathers recognized that at the beginning of our nation, but we've lost sight of that
ourselves. We need to stand up for our rights because we see situations just like this one.
I'm glad that she stood up and spoke out, but she shouldn't have taken the post down.
Now, this continued slide in morality of our nation isn't surprising, but it's not limited to us.
No, we export it and we franchise it. The story out of New Zealand today, this is a shocking story.
Look at this headline, baby blood donor battle. Judge orders anti-vax parents to
stop blocking doctors from operating on boy. Now, high court judges ordered the parents of a baby
boy who needs life-saving heart surgery to stop blocking doctors from carrying out the operation.
Tonight, this was yesterday, Justice Ian Galt made an emergency order
after parents allegedly told the doctors trying to prepare the baby for surgery tomorrow morning,
you touch our child and we will press criminal charges against you.
Now, the judge said Tatoka Tamai Auckland Health sought an urgent court order clarifying that, listen to this, that the
police are entitled to use reasonable force to remove baby W from the parents and or remove the
parents in order to facilitate the steps necessary to baby W surgery, including taking him to surgery when it occurs and that actually
transpired today share some video here with you of what happened when police
came to their home can't be changed or can be changed. I think, like, so baby needs as much rest as possible
so that he can...
Excuse me, what are you doing?
Don't do that, boys.
Hey, don't do it.
Please don't do it!
We're talking about the surgery.
You guys are criminals!
You are criminals! You are conducting
a criminal act here!
So what's the pre-op chips and these happen before the surgery?
We've been talking to you like rational people and now you're just removed
You are criminals
The way you guys are acting like criminals Get out of my way! Get out of my way! Guys, move out! Move out the way!
You guys are acting like criminals!
You are acting like criminals! All of you are criminals!
At the heart of this issue, of course, is the parents.
They were against the gene therapy doses and shots themselves and for their children as well. But in addition, they did not want any blood to be used by anyone who had received the COVID so-called vaccine shot. And that brought
up the ire of the people in control, the state there. And even so far as to, as you saw in that
particular video, take custody of the child away from the parents.
This is how committed they are to their particular agenda.
Once again, we see a loss of morality, a loss of our rights.
Now here's the loss of parental rights.
Your children don't even belong to you.
They belong to the state.
And so that's the attitude New Zealand is taking,
and that's really the
attitude of most Western nations is that the children that you have in your home don't really
belong to you. They're not your children. They're basically wards of the state. They just have
permission to stay at your home. That's really their outlook and their attitude. The purpose in all this is to control people, control their morality, control their way of thinking, control their attitude toward their children.
And now we're learning from Oxford, England, that maybe they're even trying to control populations down to the neighborhood level. This is an interesting story Rick came across yesterday,
and we're going to dig into it for just a couple minutes here,
where the city of Oxford is implementing what is being called traffic filters.
Now, that sounds like a nice, safe phrase, traffic filters.
I mean, what problem could there be with traffic filters? Are you opposed to traffic filters i mean what what problem could there be with traffic filters
are you opposed to traffic filters well let's dig into the story a little bit here and see what it's
really all about roadblocks stopping most motorists from driving through oxford city center
will divide the city into six 15-minute neighborhoods, a county council travel chief has said.
And he insisted the controversial plan would go ahead
whether people liked it or not.
Duncan Enright, Oxfordshire County Council's
Cabinet Member for Travel and Development Strategy,
explained the authority's traffic filter proposals
in an interview in the Sunday Times.
He said the filters would turn Oxford into a 15-minute city
with local services within a small walking radius.
Now listen to this.
So people can drive freely around their own neighborhood
and can apply for a permit to drive through the filters
and into other neighborhoods
for up to 100 days a year.
This equates to an average of two days a week.
Now, the story goes on to say that the purpose of this is to reduce traffic problems
and to create closer combined neighborhoods. But imagine here in the United
States that you had to have a travel permit to go from one neighborhood to another.
That's exactly what they're talking about in this. This is a measure that China has implemented. And now we're seeing it implemented in the UK,
where they plan to bring control down to the neighborhood level. And don't forget,
your neighbors, if they catch you sneaking across and going to the other zone, the other 15-minute
zone, they probably get a special pass for turning you in. So we have this particular soundbite from
GBN in the UK, a woman by the name of Lois Perry. She's talking about this particular plan
and has her thoughts about it. It's an assault on human liberty, isn't it? And as I've mentioned,
this is a hill to die on. How ironic that this should happen in Oxford, which is, of course, the location of Oxford University, one of the great
focal points of Western enlightenment and Western ideas, liberal ideas.
Absolutely, which is why I believe it's been targeted. I mean, it's quite well documented
and quite well known that the communist um chinese communist party makes huge
donations to um to top universities and actually pays for whole colleges um some of them are
completely owned by the ccp now so no i'm not surprised at all actually they go for they go
for the intellectual centers and they go for the power centers so yeah we're in bed with them now
jeremy hunt's married to somebody who gets a check every week from the CCP.
Welcome to dystopia. Here we are. A man who spoke admiringly of China's lockdown policies.
You're pulling people out of their homes and putting them in re-education centres.
No, sorry. Sorry. No camps. No. What were they called?
Oh, yes. These quarantines. That's right. It's a polite word for it.
Yeah. And it is a concern. And it all it all originates, ironically, from a supposedly freedom loving conservative government.
Yeah. Why build camps when you can make your own neighborhood a camp?
So just have your travel papers so you can go from one part of town to another.
That's coming soon to An America Near
You. One other story we want to touch on here today. This is from the Post Millennial.
It's part of the second dump of information from Twitter files. Elon Musk is confirming that U.S.
political candidates were blacklisted while running for office.
He actually responded to a question that came up on Twitter.
Elon Musk confirmed this early Friday morning that under previous leadership at Twitter,
political candidates were blacklisted and prevented from having their own content amplified on the platform.
Twitter executives testified before Congress in 2018 said unequivocally that they did not
engage in this kind of suppression. Oh, are you telling me they lied? Well, this admission from
Musk comes after Barry Weiss dropped the second batch of Twitter files, which revealed that teams
of Twitter employees did build blacklists, which they used to stifle those users whose content they did not want to
see trending or amplified on Twitter. Now, Weiss did not list political candidates among those who
she said were shadow banned, but the list is not complete. And so once again, it seems like
everything about this particular segment of our program, Regarding News, has to do with control.
Control of what's happening to us here in the United States and Western nations.
Generally, Christian nations that have abandoned their faith, that have rejected Jesus Christ,
as the role model for peace and development here for us.
You know, there are those that are seeking to make a difference in the world around
us. And we here at True News, we've been trying to proclaim the gospel message in the 25 plus years
that Rick has been involved in this ministry. And we've been involved in many, many projects here
over the past few years. And one great opportunity that we have here
is to develop staff and to develop individuals
that go on to do other things.
One of those individuals is a young man.
I call him young.
He's younger than me.
How about that?
By the name of Mike Rathke.
Mike has been with the ministry here
for right at six years, a little over six years.
And it's been a pleasure to see him grow and develop,
not only as a musician, which he is,
but also as an individual and as a believer in Jesus Christ.
I cannot tell you how many times
during our Bible studies here
that Mike had some insight that just was like,
wow, I never saw that before.
And it's always a blessing.
So we have a very special event coming up here.
It's a digital online opera that Mike has produced.
Mike is making that transition out of the ministry here
with us and doing his own efforts as an artist full-time, praising and glorifying Jesus Christ
through his music. And so we have a very special event coming up here in the next week or so
that we'd like to invite you to be a participant in. Here's more about that.
If you remember the rock operas from back in the day, it's almost like a musical. It's almost set up like a musical because this is a concept album that runs through a story. And so from
beginning to end, the band doesn't break the fourth wall.
We don't ever talk to the audience because this is more like a format, like a musical.
So there's transition elements that tell the story for the song that you're getting ready to hear.
We play that song.
That moves us into the next phase of the story that follows this pastor and his character arc
and all the way through to the end of his imprisonment
and where his story ends up without giving too much away.
But I've been calling it a folk opera. I was a voice in my time In a world of fakes and lies
I told the truth in my time
And that's coming up later this week, so you don't want to miss that.
Looking forward to being able to celebrate that evening with Mike.
We'd like to invite you to be a part as well.
Well,
welcome back to True News. When Rick asked me to fill in for him today, he suggested that in addition to news to provide some teaching from the Word. How could I say no to that? One request
that I've had personally is to teach regarding the thousand-year reign of Christ found in
Revelation 20. And as much as I would love to do that,
it's my personal belief that you really can't get a handle on what's going on in Revelation 20
until you get an understanding of a passage from the Old Testament in the book of Daniel.
And that's what I'll be sharing on today. Now, a very important yet often overlooked Bible study
when it comes to understanding many important issues regarding modern Bible prophecy is the 70 weeks of Daniel.
Now, remarkably, most Christians worldwide have not heard of this.
And those who have are typically brainwashed dispensationalists
who really have no idea what the true meaning of it actually is.
So this study itself on the 70 weeks of Daniel,
I hope will yield some of the most astounding and beautiful truths of the entire Bible.
I encourage everyone to take time to study these passages of Scripture for themselves.
However, for the sake of our teaching today, we're only going to cover one particular aspect of this topic of the 70 weeks,
and that is the length of time for the 70 weeks of Daniel.
Now, the passages of Scripture that make up what we call the 70 weeks of Daniel
are really only four verses found in Daniel chapter 9, verses 24 through 27.
It says, 70 weeks are determined upon thy people
and upon thy holy city
to finish the transgression
and to make an end of sins
and to make reconciliation for iniquity
and to bring in everlasting righteousness
and to seal up the vision and prophecy
and to anoint the most holy.
Know therefore and understand
that from the going forth of the commandment to restore
and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah, the Prince shall be seven weeks and three score
and two weeks. The street shall be built again and the wall even in troublous times.
And after three score and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself.
And the people, the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. And the end
thereof shall be with a flood and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week. And in the midst of the week,
he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. And for the overspreading of abominations, he shall make it
desolate even until the consummation and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
That's Daniel chapter nine, verses 24 through 27. Now the 70th week of Daniel chapter 9 is the only prophecy that foretold when the
Messiah would start his ministry and die for our sins. And we're going to talk about this today.
The context of Daniel chapter 9 is that the Jews here in this particular time period are at the end of their 70-year captivity.
Daniel is inquiring about what's going to happen to them. Now, in this passage, Daniel's not seeking
information about the end times or the Antichrist. He's just asking about the destiny of the Jewish
nation. And so Daniel chapter 9 gives the answer to that. Now for our purposes
today, we're only going to consider the time frame in which all of this is supposed to take place.
Now the scripture plainly tells us that 70 weeks are determined for these events to take place.
Now in this context, a week is a week of years or seven years. Now, technically
speaking, the word week is translated from a Hebrew word called Shabbalah, which means seven
or a period of seven days or years, a heptad, a week or seven of years. So in context here, this week is what we call a heptad of years.
So a week refers to seven years. Therefore, do simple math. 70 weeks refers to 490 years.
Now, remarkably, even the dispensationalists have this part right. In fact, I've never encountered anybody yet
who has studied the 70 weeks of Daniel who does not understand that 70 weeks equals 490 years.
That much is definitely settled. Where things get goofy is in the way those 490 years are applied to prophecy.
Now, the scripture here stated plainly that these 490 years began
from the going forth of the commandment
to restore and rebuild Jerusalem.
Now, this took place when King Cyrus did that very thing,
which you can read about in 2 Chronicles 36 and in Ezra 1. We know the date of
that. We have that date written down. And so going forward from that date, 490 years from there,
puts you just about three and a half years after the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. So in other words, those 490 years
ended a long time ago. In fact, those 490 years ended during the lifetime of the apostles.
That's it. It's over. There's really nothing left to do when it comes to studying this block of
time. It's 490 years. It started with the
proclamation of King Cyrus. It ended 490 years later. That's what the scripture says. Therefore,
the end of the 70 weeks of Daniel happened nearly 2000 years ago during the lifetime of the
apostles. Okay. So what's the big deal? Well, the big deal is this.
Dispensationalists, or what Rick likes to call it,
dipsy-ides, claim that the 70 weeks aren't over yet.
Yep, it's the most amazing thing, folks.
I really don't understand how they're able to do the mental gymnastics and scriptural wrestling necessary
to twist and corrupt the Bible
to mean things that it plainly does not say.
So now according to the Dipsyites, 69 out of the 70 weeks, 483 years have already passed.
And one week or seven years remains. That final week, the 70th week, they say, has not yet taken place.
And according to them, this final seven years is that seven-year Great Tribulation.
It's an event that's going to happen yet in the future, according to dispensations.
They say that at the end of 69 weeks, God basically pushed the snooze button on his prophetic time clock,
and that we're living in that paused period of time, which will end with the rapture.
Now, some have likened this to like a parentheses in a sentence that you insert there to fill in
with additional information. Therefore, a dispensation would say
that you and I right now living in the 21st century are living in what we call the parenthetical gap.
That's a big theological word that's going to end with the rapture. Now, once the rapture takes
place, God will once again push play on the prophetic time clock and then the seven-year great tribulation begins.
Now, of course, there's great debate, infighting, and angst concerning the timing on this because
many believe that the rapture happens at the beginning of the seven years of this week,
others in the middle, and there's another group that believes that it happens at the end.
Now, of course, it's all nonsense because there is no rapture. There is no seven-year great tribulation. And the entire
70 weeks of Daniel, all 490 years have already passed. Now, you see this gap theory or this
parentheses or pausing on the 490 years of Daniel's prophecy is the most asinine scriptural
wrestling I think I've ever heard.
Remember, you can't change timeframes without fundamentally damaging the Word of God.
You can't change 490 years to any indeterminate amount of time.
490 years means 490 years.
And you can't break it up and insert gaps to fit false doctrine without
making the original meaning worthless. Now think about it. If 490 years can be changed to 2,490
years, then how does any timeframe have any real meaning in the Bible? And if we can change a
remarkably specific timeframe in the Bible to mean something else,
why can't we change anything else in the Bible to mean whatever we want?
If 490 years isn't really 490 years, then was the virgin birth really from a virgin
or just from a girl who had a really clean heart?
Did Jesus really resurrect from the dead or did he just recover from really bad life,
threatening wounds?
Well, the list goes on and on.
You see how important this is.
Now, imagine if I were to prophesy about you
and say, thus saith the Lord,
in 24 hours, you will die.
And then a week later, I run into you at Costco
and you're still alive.
Now, what would you say about me?
Wouldn't you say I'm a liar and I'm a false prophet?
Should I ever be trusted again?
But no, I've got a way out.
You see, my friend, only 23 hours has passed.
God pushed pause on your prophetic timeline for an indeterminate period of
time. Now, near the end of your life, God's going to push play again and that final hour will play
out and then you'll die. Now, how ridiculous is that? And how is it any different than the
unbelievably torturous and destructive interpretation that dipsyites
applied to the 70 weeks of Daniel?
Think about it.
This portion
of dispensational doctrine so
badly tortures the scripture that in order
to make it work, you have to
fundamentally destroy the Bible
completely.
Now, this is a comparison
here. Dispensationalism destroys the plainly written
word of God and changes the timing of 490 years and the 70 weeks of Daniel to an indeterminate
amount of time. The Bible, however, teaches that the 490 years of Daniel's prophecy was a single
block of time, a determined block of time that lasted exactly 490 years and which has long since
passed. Now, one of the key verses in this passage is coming to a fuller understanding
of Daniel chapter 9, verse 27. Now, this verse of scripture has been so twisted by dispensationalists
that in my opinion, it goes beyond the borders of blasphemy.
Daniel 9.27 may very well be the most misinterpreted prophecy in the entire Bible.
The early Protestant reformers saw it as a messianic prophecy fulfilled by none other
than the Lord Jesus Christ.
But most modern day evangelicals view it as a prophecy fulfilled by the antichrist
who will come to power in the unknown future now christians who hold to this particular
eschatological view follow a school of prophecy of interpretation known as futurism which is today
modern dispensationalism and which results in modern christ Zionism as well. So I'm going to read
that particular verse, and then we're going to look at it phrase by phrase and do a comparison.
Daniel chapter 9, verse 27, and he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week.
And in the midst of the week, he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.
And for the overspreading of abominations, he shall make it desolate
even until the consummation and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. That's Daniel
chapter nine, verse 27. Okay. So what we're going to do is we're going to do a comparison of the
phrases in this particular verse, because this verse dispensationalism, dipsyites,
this is their linchpin verse.
This is it.
This is the most important verse
that they have everything hanging on.
So let's look at it piece by piece here.
So we start off with the phrase, and he.
Okay, so who is the he in Daniel 9, 27?
Who is this he?
Dispensationalists would say that this is the Antichrist.
Now, everything else up to this point from Daniel 9, 24-26
has been in direct reference to the Messiah.
But the dispensationalist would have you be,
I believe that we've got a new character that has entered the play, if you will,
that this person here, the Antichrist is going to do something. What is he going to do?
Now in the historical context of things, the he in this particular passage of Scripture,
as the historical interpretation has always been that the he is Jesus Christ,
that he is fulfilling the messianic promises of the previous two verses.
So we go on in this particular verse.
And he shall confirm the covenant.
Now, this is very important because I'm sure you've heard at some point in time
that during the seven years of tribulation,
the Antichrist is gonna come
and he's going to make a,
first of all, he's gonna make a peace treaty with Israel.
And then during that time, at the end of the time, there's going to be a treaty
that he makes. Okay. You've heard that. I think it's written up in late great planet earth and
a whole bunch of other books and everything. And it says, shall confirm the covenant, but they
interpret that shall make a treaty that the antichrist is going to make a treaty, a treaty with who? The Jews.
And so that's going to happen
during that seven years that we're talking about,
according to dispensationalists.
Now, historically,
that confirmation of the covenant there
has always meant she'll confirm
the covenant of grace of God made with Abraham.
And what hinges on this particular phrase is how dispensationalists interpret,
shall confirm the covenant.
They say that that the there doesn't belong there, that it needs to be an A.
Shall confirm a covenant.
Now that may not seem like a big deal, but by saying that they interpret this
entire passage a different way. However, historically, this has always been interpreted,
shall confirm the covenant. Now, why would we say that? Because back in chapter nine, verse four,
and I'm going to read this while we keep this on the screen.
It says, and I prayed unto the Lord my God
and made my confession and said,
oh Lord, the great and dreadful God
keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him
and to them that keep his commandments.
That same phrase appears in verse four
earlier in the chapter.
The very same phrase. And yet the dispensations would say that these are two separate phrases so let's go on now it says that he shall
confirm the covenant with many for one week now that's where we get that seven years of tribulation
according to the dispensationalists where we get that extra week andulation according to the dispensationalists, where we get that extra week.
And so according to the dispensationalist view,
the Antichrist shall make a treaty with the Jews
and leaders of the world's religion for seven years.
And this is going to take place in the future.
However, historically, what has been taught here
is that Jesus Christ shall confirm the covenant of grace of God made with Abraham
with the people of Israel for seven years. And historically, this has been taught from the
beginning of Jesus's ministry in about 27 AD to the stoning of Stephen in 34 AD, which was the
start of the persecution of Christians by the Jews. We can also correlate this to the time of Paul's conversion as well.
So the dispensations would have you believe
that this week here,
that the Antichrist is the one who's making the treaty.
But historically, it's been believed
that this is referring to the Messiah,
Jesus Christ, who is making a treaty.
It's his period of ministry, which began in 27 AD.
The last part of that verse there, it says,
In the midst of the week, he shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease.
Now, the dispensationalists will tell you that that's the Antichrist stopping the daily sacrifice in a rebuilt third temple at some point in the future.
However, historically it's been taught Jesus was crucified three and a half years after the start of his ministry.
So when Jesus, the Lamb of God, became the ultimate sacrifice for sins,
that meant there was no more need for daily animal sacrifices. And hence, no more need for a physical
temple to do them. And if you remember at the crucifixion, the curtain in the temple was torn
in two. It was done. It was complete. And even Jesus on the cross said, it is finished. It was done.
It was complete. There was nothing else that needed to happen. Now, continue looking at this
particular verse here. We go on, and for the overspreading of abominations, he shall make it
desolate. That's the abomination of desolation.
It's a great title for a lot of Bible prophecy books and fun to talk about at Bible prophecy
parties and everything. The dispensationalists say that the Antichrist will start a worldwide
persecution against all who refuse to worship him. But historically what's been taught
on this particular passage
is Jesus through the Roman general Titus
will desolate the temple of Solomon.
And that occurred in 70 AD.
And then finally the last phrase there,
even until the consummation
and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. So dispensationalists
would say that that consummation that takes place is Jesus returning. He's going to, you had a
knock down, drag out fight with the antichrist and his armies and throw them all into hell.
Historically, Jesus will cause the Roman army to destroy both the temple and Jerusalem to put an end to the Jews' Christless view of end time events are often accused of replacement theology.
Really, it's the dispensationalists that are involved in replacement theology.
They'll replace the cross with the Star of David.
They'll replace the Messiah with the star of David. They'll replace the Messiah
with the land of Israel.
And they'll replace the Christ
with the Antichrist
in Daniel chapter 9, verse 27.
And they've done exactly that.
My friend, I want to encourage you.
Jesus has fulfilled the covenant.
He has fulfilled the covenant for mankind. Jesus has fulfilled the covenant. He has fulfilled the covenant for mankind.
He has fulfilled the covenant, the obligation that the old law is done and a new covenant has been established. The promise of Daniel chapter nine, verse 27 is so, so huge because it opens up the possibility for salvation for all mankind.
What a difference in interpretation.
Now, this doctrine was initially rejected by Protestant Christians,
but was later promoted by the likes of John Nelson Darby and Cyrus Schofield.
And as a result, it was accepted by the prodigious Dallas Theological Seminary,
and then everybody started teaching it. And once you start down this pathway, a host of other
false doctrines, such as the pre-tribulation rapture and Christian Zionism, grew out of this
false interpretation of Daniel chapter 9, verse 27. Daniel 9 27 says, and he shall confirm the covenant
with many for one week. If we believe that that's Jesus confirming the covenant, and I believe it is,
would there be evidence elsewhere in scripture that would point us to that? Well, my friend, there is. In Galatians chapter three, verse 17.
In this I say that the covenant
which was confirmed before of God in Christ,
the law which was 430 years after,
cannot disannul that it should make the promise
of none effect.
In other words, this particular passage here
says the covenant was
fulfilled. The law, the old Testament law was done. It's finished. It's over. It's done. The
covenant has been fulfilled. Now, another passage that I want to point out to you is found in Roman
chapter 15, verse eight. Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God
to confirm the promises made to the fathers. So once again, we have evidence that Paul at least
taught in two instances here that this covenant is fulfilled. It's done. He fulfilled that covenant in his ministry.
That final week happened
during the ministry of Jesus Christ.
And now another passage of scripture.
This is Hebrews 13, verse 20.
Now the God of peace
that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus,
that great shepherd of the sheep,
through the blood of the everlasting covenant.
It was his blood.
It was his blood that was talked about in Daniel chapter 9, verse 27,
that confirmed the covenant with his people.
Now, his people were not limited to just the Jews, but to those who are far off,
even us, the Gentiles, that we can call out to him for salvation now. It wasn't
available to us before. We had to become Jews in the past under the old law. And even then we can't
measure up because it was all activated by faith. But now the door has been opened to us. My friend,
we are not a parentheses. The whole purpose of God sending his son, Jesus Christ, to redeem mankind was to say the old law is done.
The old mortgage won't work anymore.
We need a new plan of payment.
We need a new payment plan.
And there's only one person who can make the payment for all the sins of mankind.
And that's my own son.
This is God the Father.
Say, my only son is This is God the Father saying,
my only son is the only one who can do it.
Will you go, my son, and redeem mankind?
And Jesus stepped down out of heaven,
became a helpless babe,
grew up as a man, sinless,
and redeemed mankind.
And his period of ministry,
starting in about 27 AD,
is the beginning of that last week of Daniel.
You see, my friend,
they've taken the gospel message
and they've replaced it
with a promise to Israel.
My friend, Israel's done.
It's over with. There might be a country to Israel. My friend, Israel's done. It's over with.
There might be a country called Israel today,
but it is not the fulfillment of scripture.
It is not the fulfillment of the promise of scripture.
It's like you might know someone named Abraham,
but that doesn't mean he's the original Abraham.
They are taking the name Israel today,
but that Israel is a different Israel.
The Israel of Jesus' day is dead.
It was plowed under.
It was paved over.
It was rebuilt over.
And even the city you go and visit today
that's called Jerusalem
was a city,
every stone was turned over.. Every stone was turned over.
Every single stone was turned over
to fulfill Jesus's promise in his prophecy.

can send information to us. We have a contact form on there. You can always send us emails
at info at truenews.com if you'd like to get some other questions answered and some additional
information. Do I claim to be the all-knowing and all-wise on this particular issue? Well, I will say that I have looked at
this issue for a number of years. And like so many of you, I was confused and wrapped up in concern.
And as a pastor, I felt pressure from those that were what I would call those in authority over me, to teach something that I was not confident about.
I was not convinced what was being taught to me about seven years of tribulation and so many other things.
It just wasn't sitting right with me.
It just didn't seem like it was the right thing.
And one of the things that was always a concern with me was Daniel's 70th week
and how suddenly God said, you know what? I said it was 490 years, but well,
not really. It's going to be a lot longer than that. No, God, let God be true and every man a
liar. And I've met a few liars along the way,
especially when it comes to teaching about the end times.
Now, my friend, before we close today,
I want to encourage you.
You know, I like to teach about the end times
and I enjoy conversations with Rick about the end times. And of course,
he has tremendous knowledge on the subject. But I've been in ministry now in one form or another
for over 30 plus years. I've served as a pastor, as a church planter, as a missionary.
I've been involved in Christian broadcasting, shortwave, radio, TV.
I've seen all the prophecy programs and all the prophecy books
and everything that's come along
basically over the past 40 years.
I'll have this to say about modern day Bible prophecy.
And I could be wrong, okay?
But I have yet to meet one person
and you might be out there watching today,
that one person.
I have yet to meet one person
that came to a knowledge of Jesus Christ
because they knew about the 70 weeks of Daniel.
I have yet to meet one person
that has come to a knowledge of Jesus Christ
because they knew how many freckles
were on the third head of the beast.
I have yet to meet one person
that has come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ
because they followed the prophetic timeline
that all the different ministries publish.
I have yet to meet one, but I will tell you this. I have met plenty that have come to Jesus Christ
when they were told that they were sinners and they needed a savior. And maybe you're watching
today and maybe you're fascinated with news And maybe you're watching today.
And maybe you're fascinated with news and maybe you're fascinated with end times prophecies
and everything like that.
Go ahead, that's all right.
But do you realize that you're a sinner
and you need a Savior?
Because all this talk about end time events
and about Daniel 70 weeks and everything,
you know what it's all about.
It's about a savior coming to save mankind.
A savior stepping down out of heaven
to save people that didn't deserve it,
to save a rebellious people
that would just as soon kill a savior
as to worship him.
That's saving knowledge right there. That's the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. That's the knowledge that transforms a dead stone cold heart into a heart
of flesh that beats with the lifeblood of Jesus Christ again. That's what causes an empty shell
of a man who has no spirit, whose spirit is dead
and suddenly comes to life
by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in their life.
That's the saving knowledge you really need.
And for a lot of people,
a lot of the talk about end time events
and the antichrist, everything else is just a distraction.
Because they don't want to deal with the real issue.
And that is that we need to repent.
We need to give up our sin.
And we need to bow our knee to a Savior who came to save us.
I think that's the hardest preaching I've ever done on True News right there.
So, well, my friend, I want to meet you on the other side.
When that new Jerusalem comes down out of heaven, I want you to be there too.
Okay?
Because I'm sure we've both got stories to tell.
You know, Doc, I was watching you that day where you talked about everybody having to repent and all those things.
I'd love to meet you that day. Okay. Write us, let us know that God's touched your heart and
done something good for you. We love you so very, very much. As I mentioned at the beginning of the
God cast today, Rick is traveling back from Jordan today because of his flight schedule. He wasn't
able to join us today in person, But he'll be back here on Monday.
Don't you miss that.
He'll be back here on Monday.
