Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a stark warning to the West if Ukraine dares to attack a nuclear power plant in Kursk, the Russian territory seized by Ukraine last month. I'm Rick Wiles. This is True News for Friday, September 6, 2024. Let's begin
Starting point is 00:01:35 our analysis and commentary of world news with this Financial Times report from London. The headline, Zelensky pushes U.S. to allow long-range weapons use in Russia. This story will lead us up to the warning that Mr. Putin issued. And it's very stark, very blunt. Yes. And it's very easy to understand what Putin said would happen. So Financial Times reporting Ukrainian President Zelensky has urged Washington to permit his forces to use U.S. weapons to strike deep inside Russian territory as he looks to increase pressure on Moscow. Zelensky made the plea on Friday in a meeting with Western defense ministers in Germany, underscoring his determination to shift policies in many countries that have barred Ukraine from using their weapons to strike Russia. His visit to Ramstein Air Force Base marked his first time joining the meeting at the air base in person. So once again, Doc, Mr. Zelinsky pressuring the West, not only give us more weapons, more money, but more leeway.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Give us take the chains off of us. Let us use the missiles as we missiles as we deem fit. Right. And let us hit anything that we want to hit. And they already have a list of what they want to hit. And they presented that list. So it said in that article from Financial Times, we need to have this long-range capability, not only on the occupied territory of Ukraine, but also on the Russian territory,
Starting point is 00:03:22 so that Russia is motivated to seek peace, he said at the start of the meeting. The Ukraine contact group is a regular forum to coordinate lethal aid. Lethal aid, what an oxymoron to Ukraine. On a visit to Washington last week, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustam Umarov provided Washington that very list, specifying the targets that Kiev would like to strike using U.S. Army tactical missile systems, also known as ATAKMS, British Storm Shadow, and French Scalp long-range missiles. So they already have a list of the targets they want to hit. They're just saying to the U.S. – and it's only the U.S. that it matters. That's the only one.
Starting point is 00:04:01 It's because the rest of the european nations will yeah they'll quickly go along and um secretary of defense lloyd lloyd alston said that uh you know for the time being the u.s isn't going to change its policy but that that was not a it will never happen it was for the time being for now right we're not changing our policy at that conference, Great Britain promised more weapons. BBC reporting UK to send hundreds more weapons to Ukraine. That's right. The UK will send hundreds more short-range missiles to Ukraine. It was announced ahead of the summit where President Zelensky asked for the authorization to strike targets inside Russia. As we mentioned before, the Ukrainian president made another impassioned
Starting point is 00:04:45 plea for further military support during the opening stages of the summit at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany. And of course, this leads to a response by Russian President Vladimir Putin. But before we get to Mr. Putin's warning, this next one, Doc, is from Maria Zakharova. She's the press secretary to Sergei Lavrov at Foreign Ministry. And she promised that Russia would deliver some painful medicine to the West if NATO backs the incursion into Russian territory. Moscow has decried the West's support for Ukraine's incursion into its territory following the tacit endorsement of the operation by NATO's top brass and warned that the country will respond in a fierce manner. This is the quote from Maria Zakharova, director of the Foreign Ministry press office in the Kremlin.
Starting point is 00:05:48 She said, quote, We would like to warn such irresponsible politicians in the EU, NATO, and overseas that in the event of corresponding aggressive steps by the Kiev regime, Russia's response will follow immediately and will be extremely painful. Now, the next two articles are going to tell us what possibly could provoke a painful response. And the second article will tell you specifically what's going to hurt. Okay. We'll start with the provocation. This is Newsweek. The Newsweek article is based on Russia's Novastiasti news service article we'll go with the news week
Starting point is 00:06:46 since it's already translated into english as you see the headline russia considers shutting down curse nuclear power plant again curse is the region next to ukraine that has been invaded and seized by ukraine it's Kursk is under Ukrainian occupation, not the entire region, but much of it. There is a nuclear power plant in Kursk. The Russians are now seriously thinking about shutting it down, and it's for two reasons. And this is what we're going to learn in this article. So, as Rick said, Russia is considering shutting down a nuclear power plant in its border Kursk region amid an ongoing incursion launched by Ukraine last month, the head of Russia's Atomic Energy Agency has said. Ros Adam, Director General Alexei Lukachev made the comments on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Russia's Vladivostok on Thursday.
Starting point is 00:07:43 That's going on right now this week, Rick. Firstly, the Kursk nuclear power plant is of great importance. It plays an important role in the energy supply of the entire region. This is extremely important now, Lukachev said. So far, the decision to disable it has not been made of the four units. One is operating. He added, for now, we believe that the security measures taken are sufficient. Now, some Russian military bloggers, including Russia war
Starting point is 00:08:10 correspondent Alexander Sladkov, speculated in the early days of the incursion that Ukrainian forces were planning to take control of the nuclear power plant. But there is no evidence to suggest that Ukraine intends to capture the plant, although the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency Chief Rafael Grossi said after visiting the facility on August 27th that there is now a danger of a nuclear incident here. That was coming from him. Now, it goes on in the article from Newsweek to say, why does the Ukrainian Armed Forces need the Kursk nuclear
Starting point is 00:08:45 power plant? It will come in handy. There are many options, military journalist Ladkov said. He said Ukraine will argue that its forces will leave Kursk only if the Russian forces leave the occupied Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which has been under Russian control since early March of 2022. So it's one for one on that. Ukraine may also demand that troops be withdrawn from the country. Otherwise, it will blow up the Kursk nuclear power plant. It is impossible to blow it up with artillery and missiles, causing a gigantic catastrophe, said Sadykov. Ukrainian forces may attempt to disable the Kursk nuclear power plant without incident,
Starting point is 00:09:34 making it inoperative, thereby depriving Russia of this largest source of energy, the war correspondent wrote. Well, of course, the other factor to consider, too, is that if Ukraine decides to take out the plant, it has effects not just only on the Kursk region, but all of Europe. Yes. I don't think the Ukrainians care. They don't at this point. I'm talking about the people that's running the Ukrainian government. Because even if Ukraine does decide to take out the power plant, it's going to be Russia's fault.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Of course. So you do have this possibility of a trade. We'll give back your power plant if you give us back ours. But the Ukrainians tried to blow up their own power plant. Yes. I mean, this has been going on for two years. So the biggest threat here, and I think the ones that the Russians are worried about, is that the Ukrainians are going to destroy the Kursk power plant. I think that's what they're concerned about.
Starting point is 00:10:36 There's going to be an act of sabotage, which is going to create another Chernobyl. Don't forget Chernobyl is in Ukraine. Yes. So the worst nuclear disaster was Ukrainian. I think they're concerned that this could be turned into another Chernobyl.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Or worse. Or worse. Which literally stops the war in a sense that you've got to deal with a massive nuclear meltdown. And the entire Russian war effort either comes to a halt to deal with that disaster or it has to go to a hyper level, which means they're going to take corresponding action against others.
Starting point is 00:11:22 And other countries will experience a nuclear meltdown. That's the inference. It's more than an inference. What Vladimir Putin said was, if the Ukrainians attack this power plant, we will burn down Europe. Yes. down europe yes folks um i guarantee you we are the first american-based news organization to report what putin said this this story is almost non-existent i i said the whole ukraine war is non-existent yes but this particular story that we're reporting to you right now, it's almost non-existent.
Starting point is 00:12:05 I found only two small references to it in overseas news sources. There's just nobody out there reporting it. Putin said, we'll burn down Europe. Yes. You would think that would be on the front page it would be the the banner on everything on every website it's not out there but we do have um enough material that we can show you what he said so the first one and and newsweek has a small part of it. They've got something to it, but they don't make it a major story.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Newsweek, Putin issues nuclear power plant strike warning. One can only imagine. There's that photo, when he's angry, okay? And if you were to just generally read this headline, what would you assume that was about? That Russia's going to strike a nuclear power plant? That Russia is? You know, that's the inference.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Newsweek put it this way. Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a fresh nuclear warning on Thursday about an alleged Ukrainian attack on a nuclear power plant in Russia's border curse region. Speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum on Thursday, Putin said alleged Ukrainian strikes on the power plant, quote, are very dangerous terrorist attacks. He goes on to say one can only imagine what will happen if we strike back, what will happen in Europe. Now, that's where Newsweek drops it. Yes. You have to use your imagination.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Newsweek didn't tell the readers the rest of the sentence. But we do have it. And we have, let's see. We have a small video. This was some video from Sputnik News, you know, one of those propaganda news sites that you could be arrested for just looking at it now. You know, you got to be careful. But we did look at it. We took the chance, Doc. We looked at it.
Starting point is 00:14:33 And now we're going to let you see it. And so you too will be exposed to Russian propaganda, I guess. The way I see it is you're learning the truth about what could happen in this world if this war continues. This is what Mr. Putin said yesterday. You have mentioned, you have also asked about the strikes against NPPs in Kursk and Zaporozhye. These are very hazardous and dangerous acts of terror. You can just imagine what will happen if our deterioration is just the same. All right. Do we have the rest of it where he said that Europe will burn?
Starting point is 00:15:19 No, I don't have that there. What he said was Europe will burn. All of it. He said was, Europe will burn. All of it. He said, all of Europe will burn. That's the quote that I saw. It's very difficult to find this, like I said, in any other sources. But Putin went on to say, all of Europe will burn. So let's be very clear here what the Russian president said. If Zelensky orders his military to attack the nuclear power plant in Kursk, Putin has said he will unleash fire on all of Europe. Simple as that. You cause a nuclear disaster in our country, we're going to burn down your
Starting point is 00:16:11 entire continent. There's only one way to burn down a continent. That's through nuclear strikes. Because he's going to say, you just caused a nuclear strike on our country. If you blow up a nuclear power plant, that's a nuclear attack. We're going to return fire.
Starting point is 00:16:34 And we will burn all of your cities. You won't have anything left. Friends. Every day here, Doc and I are delivering to you what others either don't know is happening, or they know it and they're afraid to tell you, or they know it and they're not allowed to tell you. But we tell you. But we tell you. And we tell you because you need to know. You need to know that the world is on the edge of an unimaginable calamity.
Starting point is 00:17:19 And it doesn't have to happen. Absolutely not. That's the sad thing about it. This doesn't have to happen. I have nothing against the Ukrainian people, but I'm not willing to die for them. Or at least not for their leadership. I mean, yeah. Yeah. It's like, why should we burn up here?
Starting point is 00:17:38 Why should the European people burn up? What is it about Zelensky that we have to isn't about zielinski the west doesn't care about zielinski either he's a stooge he's a puppet they're using him to attack russia the plan is to cause the russian nation to collapse then invade it and occupy ity it. And break it up. Break it up and rape their resources. That's the plan. And where did I get that? From reading the very statements of some of the European leaders. Yes.
Starting point is 00:18:16 I didn't make that up. They've said that we'd like to turn it into 15 to 30 smaller nations. Yes. What did Senator Graham, he talked about the trillions of dollars of minerals in Ukraine. Yes. Just in Ukraine. Just Ukraine. So there's a reason why we are occupying Ukraine.
Starting point is 00:18:42 What is this all about? It's about one group seeking to take another group's assets. That's what wars are about. That's right. It's been going on for thousands of years. But back then, they didn't have nuclear weapons. And they couldn't destroy the whole earth. But that's where we're at right now. You need to be prepared
Starting point is 00:19:07 in all ways. Be prepared for, well, you know, hey, worst case scenario, it doesn't matter, does it? But we don't know. We don't know how extensive the destruction will be.
Starting point is 00:19:23 We just don't know. So you have to be prepared. The main thing, your soul is prepared. Your life is right with God. And, Doc, every day that we spend in morning manna, going deeper in the Word of God, the more I realize there's what Jesus demands of us is far more than what the American preachers preach. Oh, yes. The deeper you go, the deeper the commitment there is.
Starting point is 00:19:54 It is. It is. God is far more serious than the average Christian in America has any concept. They just think, well, if we just say this little sinner's prayer, we get in and everything's fine. But that's not what Jesus teaches. And if you're not following us in morning manna, then this isn't the time to go into those things. All I'm saying is every single person, we need to make sure that we are spiritually right with God.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Because life as we know it could end at any day, rapidly, quickly, suddenly end. It doesn't mean the entire world is destroyed. It just means life as we have known it comes to an end. And so spiritually you have to be prepared and then physically you have to be prepared. What do you do the day after? What do you have? How can you survive?
Starting point is 00:21:00 Do you have enough to survive for a couple of years until some form of civilization is restored, until law and order is restored? If there's any chance of that. None of us know what's going to happen. All I know is I'm reading what the leader of a nuclear-powered nation is saying. And what he said yesterday in Europe at an economic conference was, if the West calls us the Ukrainians, if the Ukrainians blow up our nuclear power plant, we're going to burn all of Europe. Ms. Zakharova said, our response will be very painful. It's so clear what's being said
Starting point is 00:21:53 that if this catastrophe happens, the survivors are going to say, why did we allow this to happen? Yes. That's what drives me every day. Why are we allowing this to happen? I see it coming. And yet, Doc, it's almost impossible to get anybody to talk about it. And it seems as if we don't believe the Russians. I mean, when I say we, I don't mean the general public.
Starting point is 00:22:27 The general public doesn't even know what's going on. Well, what's our government doing? Our government is going after Americans who are telling Americans what the Russians are saying. It's now becoming illegal to even tell your fellow citizens what the Russians are saying. So at what point does this newscast become illegal in the United States of America? We don't know. Because what am I doing? I'm quoting Russian news sources. Has that become a crime in this country? Did we reach that point this week? We're getting very close to it well the they'll
Starting point is 00:23:07 de-platform you well of course you know if you've got millions of followers they'll de-platform you okay so let's move on here um doc you found this one today uh c. U.S. sees increasing risk of Russian sabotage of key undersea cables by secretive military unit. Now, of course, when we see stories like this, you have to take it with a grain of salt because they also accuse Russia of blowing up their own pipeline, too. But let's follow the narrative here from CNN. The U.S. has detected increased Russian military activity around key undersea cables and believes Russia may now be more likely to carry out potential sabotage operations aimed at disabling a critical piece of the world's
Starting point is 00:23:56 communication infrastructure. Russia has put increasing emphasis on building up a dedicated military unit, which deploys a formidable fleet of surface ships, submarines, and naval drones. This is according to one of their sources by CNN. The unit, the General Staff Main Directorate for Deep Sea Research, is known by its Russian acronym GUGI. We are concerned about heightened Russian naval activity worldwide and that Russia's decision calculus for damaging U.S. and allied undersea critical infrastructure may be changing, a U.S. official told CNN. Russia is continuing to develop naval capabilities for undersea sabotage through their GUGI, a closely guarded unit that operates surface vessels, submarines, and naval drones.
Starting point is 00:24:51 The U.S. regularly tracks Russian ships that patrol close to critical maritime infrastructure and undersea cables, often far from Russian shores, the official said. The U.S. concern about the secretive Russian units' undersea operations has not been previously reported. CNN has requested comment from the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding this matter. Well, this isn't really new information for True News listeners and viewers. We've talked about really the Achilles heel that we have as far as global communications is concerned. It isn't satellites. It's the undersea cables around the world. Yeah, I wish we had the map.
Starting point is 00:25:27 I know I sent it to you and the other guys on the team last week. And we were having an in-house discussion about these cables, not regarding Russia and the West, but about reaching the world with the gospel. And I was showing our team, look, here's the real highways of the world. And they're all underwater. It's where the Internet flows. So the Internet is a series of undersea cables that connects continents. And if one country severs a cable anywhere,
Starting point is 00:26:12 you could disconnect one continent from the rest of the world. And I think the CNN article, Doc, I think it's very serious and i i don't doubt at all that the russians are actively monitoring the cables and looking at the precise place to slice them okay there's the map i was talking about so all those uh the spaghettis, those are undersea Internet cables. These are fiber lines delivering communications from one continent to the other. So if you look at the USA right there, if they're in the middle of the Atlantic, you slice those cables? Yes. America is cut off from Europe.
Starting point is 00:27:08 If you slice them over on the West Coast, America is cut off from Asia. We could be isolated. We could be cut off. What did the West do to Russia's pipelines? We blew them up. And I believe that the West used tactical nuclear weapons on them. I mean,
Starting point is 00:27:30 you can't just put a stick of dynamite... Or take a hacksaw down there. You're talking massive pipelines on the seafloor. So the West blew up pipelines that Russia spent billions of dollars constructing.
Starting point is 00:27:49 And we severely damaged their energy industry. Cost them a lot of money. Put the hurt on Europe. Europe had to get their gas from the United States. We had to ship it over on barges. If Russia wanted to cut a pipeline, would they cut an oil pipeline, a gas pipeline, or would they cut Internet pipelines? Because now you lose Internet connectivity. You lose data, phone communications. There's a lot that you lose suddenly, Doc.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Right. And the United States would be, I mean, we wouldn't go in the dark here, but you wouldn't have access to a lot of information around the world. Right. Because you can't reach it. So those are the those are some of the things that that are up ahead. If this dangerous game continues between NATO and Russia. And again, this could end overnight if both sides would just say enough of this. It's gone too far. Too many people have died. Too much destruction. Let's call it off. But there's nobody nobody talking about ending the war.
Starting point is 00:29:09 If I could do a quick sidebar here on the Nord Stream pipeline. President Putin this week, he's in Vladivostok for the Eastern European – for the economic forum, Eastern Europe Economic Forum. At the forum, he said, by the way, just so you know, Nord Stream 1 is fully operational. He said, Nord Stream 1 is fully operational, yet Europe refuses to receive oil from it. He said, Nord Stream 2 is out, but Nord Stream 1 now is fully operational, but Europe refuses to use it. So they'll make their own citizens hurt before they do business with the Russians. That's right. Because they've got to keep that pipeline that's going across Ukraine running. That's right. Hey, I want to take a break for a message from American Reserves,
Starting point is 00:30:05 because they have a special promotion going on this week. And it's a good opportunity for you to save some money. I'll be back in a minute. And I want to talk about the Department of Justice action against the organization in Tennessee that they allege was funded by the Russians to then fund conservative podcasters in the United States. I'll be back in a minute. Attention, True News family. From September 4th to September 9th, our friends at American Reserves are offering a promotion on their water filtration products. Starting point is 00:30:50 No codes needed and no limitations. Access to clean drinking water is more crucial than ever. The most deadly problem in emergency situations is a lack of clean drinking water. Get your family prepared now. Visit AmericanReserves.com and make your purchase today. That offer expires Monday night, 10% off on water filtration products. And, of course, American Reserves offers the world-famous British Brookfield water filter.
Starting point is 00:31:53 I personally think it is the best that you can have. I've been a very happy customer of British Brookfield for 25 years. So I use it, I believe in it, and I recommend that you have at least one in your home. Lee, I'm going to start out with number eight. This is Wall Street Journal. The Putin propaganda chief who the U.S. says is now after American minds. Doesn't that sound sinister? Yeah, foreboding.
Starting point is 00:32:26 He's looking for your mind. Yes, he's after your brain. Well, the Russians can't have the American minds because the Zionists already have them. They'd have to rent our minds from the Zionists. I don't think the Zionists would rent out our
Starting point is 00:32:41 minds. They're completely in control of the minds of the american people but anyhow let's go along with the wall street journal there's propaganda in the article about propaganda all right okay but when you read this you get the impression that this man is dr evil yes and he's after your mind he's after after your brain. But actually, when you get done reading the article, if you have a brain, you'll realize he's trying to protect Russian brains from American propaganda. That's right. So since arriving at the Kremlin, Sergei Kiryenko's job has been to make sure that the Russian people see only what Vladimir Putin wants them to see. Now, remember,
Starting point is 00:33:23 this is the Wall Street Journal perspective here. Now, U.S. prosecutors say he's trying to do the same thing for Americans. On Wednesday, the U.S. Justice Department named Kiryanko as the curator of some 30 Internet domains that were being used by the Russian government to spread false information. Now, these domains appeared to be U.S. news sites, but were in fact filled with Russian propaganda intended to erode international support for Ukraine and manipulate American voters ahead of the November presidential election. Russia has denied any wrongdoing in this. invasion of Ukraine, Kiryanko sought to rally public relations officials from government bodies and ministries for a fight on the home front, telling them that the main war that is taking place right now is the war over people's minds. According to an audio recording reviewed by the Wall Street Journal, all of us in this room are the special forces fighting this particular war.
Starting point is 00:34:21 Once regarded as a supporter of Western-oriented ideas, Kiryanko has used increasingly nationalistic rhetoric. In recent years, he has railed about the importance of indoctrinating schoolchildren against the West by educating Russian youth in a patriotic way and promoting military service among schoolchildren. Oh, how horrible is all of that? The article goes on to say, today, patriotic education is coming to the forefront. King Ankle told an educational session for future instructors at Centers for Military Sports Training and the Patriotic Education for Youth that Putin established in May of 2023.
Starting point is 00:35:01 The key challenge for the country is what we will pass on to the future generation, what they will believe in, he said. So I don't see anything there where he's talking about getting your mind. Right. What he's talking about is protecting the minds of the Russian children from Western perverted values. Yeah, the only implication that they make about After Your Mind is they had these 30 Internet domains and they were pushing fake news. That's what they're saying is influencing our minds here in America. Well, CNN promotes fake news. MSNBC promotes fake news. If you go back to the beginning, the very first quote in this Wall Street article, it says that his job has been to make sure the Russian people see only what Vladimir Putin wants them to
Starting point is 00:35:54 see. Did we not just learn in the past year that the Biden administration heavily pressured Facebook, Twitter, various social media platforms to censor the free speech rights of Americans? Did not Mark Zuckerberg apologize and say, I wish I didn't do it? Yes. Does that not mean that Joe Biden wanted the American people only to see the news he wanted them to see? Yeah, that's exactly what that means. What's the difference? What's the difference between the two, Rick? There isn't any. But in this case, it isn't that Putin and his people are trying to deny free speech rights to Russians.
Starting point is 00:36:57 They're tired of the Western values. They're trying to block the Western propaganda from getting into their country and perverting their children that's why they made homosexual propaganda illegal because they realize look he talks about uh the wall street journal says i mean he says now he's he's railing about the importance of indoctrinating Russian school children against the West by educating the youth in a patriotic way. You mean patriotism for Russia? Yeah. Is that wrong? In their view, it is.
Starting point is 00:37:41 I'm not a Russian. I'm not patriotic for Russia. But if you were a Russian. I'm not patriotic for Russia. But if you were a Russian. But if I were a Russian, would I not be patriotic for my country? Why is that wrong? It isn't wrong. But you know what? The same people in America.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Yes. No, the same people in America that say, oh, look what the Russians are doing. They are indoctrinating their children with patriotic values. They're the same people that attacked our patriotic values. Yes, the very same ones. And Putin has looked at it and said, they did it to their own people. They destroyed their own people. And now they're coming after our children.
Starting point is 00:38:28 The people in the West, the ruling class are not patriotic. The people in the ruling class of the West, they are not patriotic. They don't care about this country. They don't care about godly values, patriotism, the American history. They don't care about this country they don't care about godly values patriotism the american history they don't care no and they have spent decades destroying these values and the russians are saying well we now see what they've done to their own people They've dismantled their own society. And now they're coming
Starting point is 00:39:05 to our country and they want to pervert our children to be just as perverted as the American children. Isn't that what we have happening in this country now? We have little children running up in a classroom or a library wanting to sit on the lap of a drag queen. Look what we've done to our children. And the Russians are saying, over our dead body, you're not coming here doing this. But the Wall Street Journal is saying, oh, this is evil. They're indoctrinating their children with patriotic values
Starting point is 00:39:46 you better believe it and I bet those values include the Russian Orthodox Church yes I bet they're telling their children it's good to go to church it's good to believe in God it's good to be a Christian
Starting point is 00:40:01 it just seems so crazy to think that when we were youngsters, Rick, to think that Russia one day would be more Christian than the United States. It doesn't take a lot to be more Christian than the United States. Really? Okay. But you couldn't think of it because when I was young, Russia was the godless Soviet Union. Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Atheistic, anti-Christ, the evil empire. Right. And now it's flipped around. And the West is the embodiment of atheism, anti-Christ mentality. And the Russians have rediscovered their Christian heritage and are putting up walls saying, you can't come in.
Starting point is 00:40:52 You're not going to do this to us. We're going to defend our values. That's all this is about. So this guy isn't after your mind. He's not after your mind. He's protecting the minds of the Russian children. Now, there are people after your mind he he's he's he's protecting the minds of the russian children now there are people after your mind yeah but they're right here they're in this country by the way this article says that uh this guy uh what is it koreanco yes uh is considered a leading candidate to replace Vladimir Putin someday.
Starting point is 00:41:29 He was prime minister under Boris Yeltsin. So he's been around a while. And he was prime minister when Boris Yeltsin appointed young Vladimir Putin as the chief of the KGB. So he survived that and survived the transition. Yes. That's interesting. It means he and Putin are basically the same age, and they've been around, and they've seen this transition.
Starting point is 00:41:59 That's interesting. They've known each other for a long time. I want to jump down to keep this theme going. Let's get down to number 13-1. Washington Post today, YouTube takes down right-wing channels linked to Department of Justice Russia indictments. These are YouTube channels connected to that company Tenet Media in Tennessee. I could not find the names of the channels that were taken down. It doesn't appear that they've taken down David Rubin or Benny Johnson or any of the other podcasters that were caught up in that thing. You know, I sent to you yesterday,
Starting point is 00:42:46 there was a paragraph out of an article I read yesterday afternoon after we finished the program where David Rubin had, according to that article, had been paid $100,000 an episode. Well, I think that was Tim Pool that got $100,000,
Starting point is 00:43:06 but Dave Rubin had gotten a single. He got $5 million. But you break it down, it was $100,000 per episode. Right. You know what that means? That means that this one hour show, Doc and I should be
Starting point is 00:43:22 splitting $100,000. That's what these, quote, conservative podcasters were doing. Never questioning where all that money came from. Oh, they're really in it for love of country. They knew that their current advertisers were not pulling in that much money. They knew that. Look, if somebody showed up here and said, hey, I'm going to give you $100,000 per day,
Starting point is 00:43:49 all you got to do is say this. For real? Where's this money coming from? And what are the strings here? Because I'm not for sale. Nobody's ever offered me money. And if somebody showed up with that kind of money, you immediately know there's something very wrong. They have an agenda.
Starting point is 00:44:11 They have an agenda. Nobody in their right mind spends $100,000 a day to make a podcast. And both Dave Rubin, Benny Johnson, and Tim Poole, all three of them came out later in the day yesterday and said, just to let you know, we have maintained total editorial control of our particular productions and everything. But what was the money for? That's right. You had to ask. Why did they keep giving you the money if you didn't perform?
Starting point is 00:44:42 I don't know the answer. So I'm not pretending I know, Doc. I don't know the answer. So I'm not pretending I know, Doc. I don't know the answer, but I do know the questions. That's good. If you didn't perform, why did the other party pay? So obviously you were delivering something they wanted.
Starting point is 00:45:01 The john only pays if the prostitute performs. So, were these so-called conservative podcasters, were they just digital prostitutes? You think they're all in it because of love of country? Because of their dedication to conservative principles i'll tell you somebody i'm going to predict somebody that i think will will be in the news in the coming weeks on this this or similar um conditions jackson hinkle. Oh. Where did he come from? Where did he come from, Doc?
Starting point is 00:45:48 You've got to ask these questions. Boom, they open up a box and a guy comes out and he's got a million followers. Just add water. I've seen these other podcasters. I look at their studio set and I go, oh, you spent at least $700,000, $800,000 on that set, and you just started?
Starting point is 00:46:09 Where did that money come from? You know, when I got started 25 years ago as audio, I had a wooden – you would know what it would look like. I had a wooden control board from a 1960s AM radio station, and we were delighted to have that much equipment. With the ceramic dials and everything? Yes. And so the biggest expense that we spent was we spent $500 on a microphone, which was outrageous. Our studio, I was in a walk-in closet, and we used carpet for soundproofing. That was the beginning. I see these guys now that start their podcasting, and they have, like I said, a half-million-dollar studio.
Starting point is 00:47:03 In a couple weeks, they have a million followers. And I go, there's something that's really weird about this. Or I just don't know how to do it. I did it the wrong way. I did it the hard way. Or a lot of these people are financed. And that's what I believe. I believe a lot of these podcasters are financed. And that's what I believe. I believe a lot of these podcasters are financed and not financed by everyday people like you and me.
Starting point is 00:47:34 You know, there's another one that's out there, too. Lex Friedman. Where did this guy come from? He interviewed Trump the other day. Who's Lex Friedman? Where did he come from? I mean, where did he drop out but it's not your lex friedman right right and you get scores is an interview with donald trump oh not just trump
Starting point is 00:47:53 he gets the the biggest names out there yes where'd he come from and these guys never get deplatformed. I'm suspicious, okay? That's all I'm going to say. I'm suspicious. But I do think you're going to see more of these stories in the weeks ahead, especially as we go towards the election. The big story yesterday afternoon after we finished True News was Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to all the counts against him. 1.4 million tax evasion case, supposedly to spare his family from embarrassment. Well, that just didn't help right there, you know. You should have pleaded guilty a long time ago.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Bob, I'm trying to prevent embarrassing you. I pleaded guilty. I did it all, okay? Well, it means they knew that the jury would convict them. The evidence was overwhelming. There was no way to argue that you didn't know what you were doing, okay? The idea that, hey, I was so drunk and stoned, I forgot to pay my taxes for years. But I was sober enough to make millions of dollars
Starting point is 00:49:06 i was sober enough to cut deals with china and ukraine but i was too drunken stone to pay my taxes see that's not going to hold up but notice when you read these articles, the emphasis is on tax evasion, not where did you get the money. It's like a drug cartel guy, and you busted him on not paying taxes. Yes, on money you received. From illicit sale of drugs. And they skip investigating him, arresting him for running a drug cartel. There's no investigation of Hunter Biden for selling influence based on his father. There's nothing.
Starting point is 00:50:02 And there won't be. Of course not. But this will end, Doc, this will end any investigation into the Bidens. Right. So he pleaded guilty. And what do you think, Doc? Do you think he pleaded guilty because he knows his dad is leaving the White House and his dad's going to pardon him? That has to go into the calculus, Rick. I mean, it's obvious.
Starting point is 00:50:24 I mean, the Biden days are winding down one way or another. So did Joe tell his son, just go plead guilty and I'll take care of it? Right. I mean, it's the one last thing that Joe Biden really has to do on his to-do list, isn't it? I mean, what else is he doing except hanging out at the beach in Delaware? I mean, that's the last thing on the agenda there. Well, Bill Clinton pardoned his brother, or no, brother-in-law on his last day in the White House. He pardoned a whole bunch of people, a lot of shady people.
Starting point is 00:50:58 I don't think Joe will wait until the last day, but I do think that there will be a pardon. Now, the question is, I mean, some people are speculating. I'm not going to rule it out, is that Joe Biden pardons Donald Trump also. He could only pardon Donald Trump on the federal charges, not the state. Right. Mr. Trump is facing sentencing on September 18. On state charges. On state charges in New York. He's facing like 134 years in prison.
Starting point is 00:51:30 The only person who can pardon him there is Governor Kathy Hochul. And I don't think she would do it unless she was pressured by Joe Biden. But, Doc, it's possible. Listen to this scenario. What if on September 18, the judge, Machan, sentences President Trump
Starting point is 00:51:54 anything, five, 20, 30, 50 years in prison? He gives the president one week to report to the federal prison. We're in the end of September. A deal is offered to President Trump during that week. If you withdraw from the race, President Biden will pardon you of all federal charges and governor hoker will pardon you of state charges you withdraw from the race and you never open your mouth again would he take it
Starting point is 00:52:37 i'm yes yes yes yes he would he'd say i'm done with politics. I'm out of here. I'm done. That scenario, I think, is possible. Because then they've got their conviction. They've got their sentencing. And then they show mercy. Mercy. Yes. Yeah, they show mercy for the cruel things that they did to him.
Starting point is 00:53:05 The mercy of man is cruel. But it allows Joe Biden to pardon his son. Yes. Because what will the Trump supporters say if both pardons are done on the same day? They won't say a word. They can't criticize Joe Biden for pardoning Hunter Biden if Joe Biden pardons Donald Trump also. So it's a win-win for all of them.
Starting point is 00:53:32 But it gets Donald Trump out of the presidential race without doing anything to him. It just frees him out. And then the Republican Party is stuck one month before the election and they have to come up with a new candidate and it may be too late to get names on the ballot which is a means the entire election is a disaster kamala harris walks into the white house and i think kamala harris i still believe she will be the president before November. I think President Biden will step down at some point.
Starting point is 00:54:09 But that means all this is done in late September, early October. And the coup is complete. It's the completion of the coup. It's done. There's no more elections after that. They had elections in the Soviet Union the coup. It's done. There's no more elections after that. Oh, they had elections in the Soviet Union. Yes. They have elections.
Starting point is 00:54:31 They had elections in Iraq. Yes. Saddam Hussein got 99% every time he ran. They still had elections. We'll still have elections, but they won't be fair. It'll be a one-party rule. That's a real possibility because the Republican Party could disappear after this election, Doc.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Let's see. We've got two minutes here. President Trump skipped a federal court hearing, pleaded not guilty in charges to Jack Smith. So that case is still, that thing's back. He's still facing prison on that one also. Well, hey, let's go out with the asteroid story, Doc. I mean, go for it. All right.
Starting point is 00:55:19 So this is from Live Science. And I've been following this a couple days because they impacted the Philippines. The story, on Wednesday, astronomers spotted a never-before-seen asteroid. Now, that scares you right there. Okay, think about that. Astronomers spotted a never-before-seen asteroid around eight hours before it entered Earth's atmosphere.
Starting point is 00:55:41 They said this harmless space rock quickly burned up as predicted, creating a bright green streak across the night sky before exploding. This newly discovered asteroid met a colorful and spectacular end above the Philippines, exploding in a bright green fireball that was visible for hundreds of miles. The space rock was only discovered earlier the same day. And so here's some video. Pretty dramatic images coming out.
Starting point is 00:56:10 Here's some additional angles here, lighting up the night sky in the Philippines there. Hey, little end time special effects. Hey, listen, God can throw a rock at us and knock us out. Absolutely. And this other story, this was the Washington Post. New studies suggest climate change will make hailstones bigger.
Starting point is 00:56:30 Bible talks a lot about hailstones, doesn't it? Seriously. Climate change, huh? Revelation says, And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent. And men blasphemed God because of the plague of hell, for the plague thereof was exceedingly great.
Starting point is 00:56:49 That's the news. That wasn't climate change. We've got to go. Morning Manor coming up. You're listening to WWCR, International Shortwave Radio. Starting point is 00:58:38 We gather at faithandvalues.com at 8 a.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. We are working our way through the gospel according to St. Matthew. We started this study last February, and here we are in September, and we've made it to the 22nd chapter. And today we will be studying the parable that is in the beginning of chapter 22. Let's pray and Doc will read the parable to you and we'll begin our study. Wonderful, gracious, kind, generous, loving Father in heaven. Father, we adore you, and we reverence you, and we glorify you.
Starting point is 00:59:36 Father, thank you for allowing us to come together today and to have brethren, brothers and sisters from many nations meeting in a virtual meeting room, a virtual Bible study class. It is an amazing thing that is happening in the world, what we're able to do. And we thank you, Father, for this gift of technology that allows us to meet. Father, we invite the Holy Spirit to lead this Bible study and to open up our hearts and minds to see the splendor, the magnificence of your Son, Jesus Christ, in his glorious kingdom. In his name, Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. my parables and said the kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king which made a marriage for his son and sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding
Starting point is 01:00:50 and they would not come again he sent forth other servants saying tell them which are bidden behold i prepared my dinner my oxen and my fatlings are killed and all things are ready come unto the marriage but they made light of it and went their ways one to his farm another to his merchandise and the remnant took his servants and entreated them spitefully and slew them but when the king heard thereof he was wrought and he sent forth his armies and destroyed those murderers and burned their city then saith he to his servants the wedding is ready but they which were bidden were not worthy go ye therefore into the highways and as many as you shall find bid to the marriage so those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all as many as they found both bad and
Starting point is 01:01:42 good and the wedding was furnished with guests. And when the king came in to see the guests, and he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment, he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither, not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into the outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.
Starting point is 01:02:15 Okay, so, Doc, last night, before going to bed, I opened up my Bible and I read this parable, you know, preparing myself for the lesson for today. And, you know, you and I have taught this parable many times. And I thought, well, tomorrow, that'll be an easy one. I might even sleep in a little bit later. I won't have to work as much. But I did get up at four. But I still entered into this preparation thinking, this is going to be an easy one. We have taught this parable numerous times. Well, you know, Doc and I have a joke about discovering dog hairs in your brain.
Starting point is 01:03:16 And when we talk about dog hairs, cobwebs or dog hairs in your brain, we're talking about theological errors that were planted in your mind many years ago by various churches that you attended, ministries that you followed, sermons that you listened to, television, radio programs that you watched or listened to. And all of us have these dog hairs, these cobwebs. I think the difference for me between cobwebs and dog hairs is that in the beginning, when the Lord began revealing to me, and this was 25 years ago, when he called me out of TBN to start this ministry. That's when he revealed to me the cobwebs.
Starting point is 01:04:16 Because you know when you go into a room that's full of cobwebs, I mean, you're pulling them apart with your hands. You've got a broom. You're knocking them down. But dog hairs, dog hairs are different. You've got to pick them up one at a time. Yes. It's one thing to sweep up dog hairs, but then it gets down into the crevices, into the cracks, into the corners. And you think you've swept the room clean.
Starting point is 01:04:49 And then you discover another dog hair. And that's what happened to me, Doc, this morning. I didn't expect to find dog hairs this morning. Well, now you've p peaked my interest here so well doc i'll i'll give you a hint to see if you have any dog hairs when is the marriage supper of the lamb well i guess normally it's assumed that's going to be at the end, but if we look at the context of verse 2, it says, The kingdom of heaven is likened to a certain king which made a marriage for his son, which would seem to say that the marriage corresponds to when
Starting point is 01:05:40 the kingdom of heaven takes place. So what were you taught in Bible school? Bible school that this is going to be, this is at the end of time. The marriage supper of the Lamb is at the end of time. Right. And when is the end of time?
Starting point is 01:05:56 The final day, the day of judgment. The day of judgment. That's what we've day of judgment. Okay. That's what we've generally been taught. Okay, but the dispensationalists say the day of judgment is at the end of 1,000 years. Right. That's true.
Starting point is 01:06:19 So is it when Christ comes back, or is it at the end of the so-called millennial kingdom? Well, they would say it's at the end of the kingdom, but the marriage takes place at the doesn't it when do you have the feast are you seeing the dog hairs i got it i get it now yeah i had never had not considered that before i kept finding the dog hair in my mouth i'm like sticking my tongue out this morning going what is that i got a dog hair i got to get this out of my mouth okay let's let's let's dive into it we we may get to verse four today we have holy communion today we're not in a hurry we're not on any fixed schedule we will get to chapter 28 of Matthew when the Holy Spirit says it's time to get there and we're in no rush to get to the end of the gospel according to Saint Matthew so let's begin with verse one Jesus answered and spoke to them again in parables, saying,
Starting point is 01:07:32 Well, it says, Jesus answered, and he spoke to them again. Whom did he answer, and whom did he speak to again? It's the Pharisees and the scribes in chapter 21. Right. So let's recall the last verses in the preceding chapter, Matthew 21, verses 43 through 46. Jesus said, Therefore I tell you, God's kingdom will be taken away from you and will be given to a nation producing its fruit.
Starting point is 01:08:06 He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but on whomever it will fall, it will scatter him as dust. When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard the parables, they perceived that he spoke about them. And when they sought to seize him, they feared the multitudes because they considered him to be a prophet so even though the pharisees and the chief priests were enraged and seriously thinking at that very moment about murdering Jesus, he calmly hit them with another parable that affirmed the message in the previous parable. And that message was, the Jewish rulers were being evicted from the kingdom of God. So this parable in chapter 22 is known as the parable of the wedding feast.
Starting point is 01:09:12 The context of this parable is closely linked to the previous parable about the vineyard, where Jesus foretold the judgment upon the Jewish people. In this parable, Jesus continues to address the theme of God's mercy and judgment in relation to the rejection of the Jewish people and the acceptance of the Gentiles. And he emphasizes the necessity of holiness for both groups, Jews and Gentiles, teaching that without it, both groups face severe judgment. So this parable, although it was spoken directly to the Jews, it is a warning to us about the consequences of disobedience. A warning that we should not fall into the same trap of the Jewish people. It underscores the principle of divine judgment. Yes.
Starting point is 01:10:23 Based on your response to God's invitation and his requirement for holiness. So Jesus uses the imagery of a wedding feast to convey spiritual truths about God's invitation to salvation and the response of both Jews and Gentiles. So the parable emphasizes the importance of heeding God's call, responding to the invitation. And being prepared. For the kingdom. So. Go to verse 2.
Starting point is 01:11:15 The kingdom of heaven. Is like a certain king. Who made a wedding feast. For his son. This parable. Reable revolves around a king. And his son. And his son's wedding. It's unique among the parables.
Starting point is 01:11:38 Because it specifically focuses on a wedding feast. The central figure in the parable is a certain King and that certain King is God Almighty yes his son obviously who is Jesus Christ though the marriage fee symbolizes the divine plan for salvation the establishment of a new covenant the introduction and the establishment of the kingdom of heaven. Notice the verse says, a certain king who made,
Starting point is 01:12:33 I'm emphasizing made, who made a wedding feast. The use of the words made a marriage wedding feast tells us of the preparation and the organization of the feast which was made by the king himself. It was the king who made the wedding feast.
Starting point is 01:13:06 It wasn't the son. It wasn't anybody. It was the king. The king made the wedding feast. This is his party. And oh, is he excited. This is the greatest party he's ever thrown. And he has spared no expense. This is the greatest party he's ever thrown. And he has spared no expense.
Starting point is 01:13:27 This is the grandest party. There'll never be another party like it. There's never been a party like it before. There'll never be a feast like it afterwards. This is the grand feast of all. So the son in the parable is Jesus Christ. Notice, for some reason, the bride is not mentioned. So the absence of the bride is notable.
Starting point is 01:14:04 Because this thing focuses on the guest. Yes. Instead of the bride. Most Bible scholars agree the parable implies that the bride is the church. Chosen by God to be united with Christ in a sacred covenant, a marriage. But you have to be careful when you do that because, you know, the bride's not mentioned here. It's not explained here. And so the problem, just so folks know, the problem that a lot of commentators and uh bible uh pundits make
Starting point is 01:14:46 is reading into a passage things that aren't there that's right i've left the bride out of the story for a reason the emphasis wasn't on the bride it was it's not about the bride so don't don't worry about things that aren't there and the book of Revelation tells us the bride is new Jerusalem that's right so and I wasn't planning to go there but I'm glad you brought this up doc we could spend a lot of time on this topic the emphasis here is the guest. Yes. Well, the guests aren't getting married. This is about who is invited to the wedding.
Starting point is 01:15:39 Yes. The wedding is between the son and his bride. But the emphasis on this parable is on the people invited to the wedding. Are you invited to the wedding or are you getting married? That's why we need a more in-depth teaching about the bride of Christ. But generally people say, well, the bride is the church. But in this case, we're looking at, the emphasis is on who is invited to the wedding. So God himself, the Father, has made a feast to celebrate the wedding of his son with his bride.
Starting point is 01:16:35 And he says that the kingdom of heaven is like that. This is what it's like. Without reading anything else into it, this is what it's like. It's like a certain king that arranged a marriage for his son, and guests were invited. So the act of inviting the guests to the marriage feast represents the divine call to participate in the blessings and the fellowship of the kingdom.
Starting point is 01:17:08 And the repeated invitations issued to the guests highlight the persistence of God's call and his desire for all to partake in his kingdom. So this concept of a wedding feast carries a lot of symbolic weight in biblical imagery. It draws from Old Testament prophets' language, where God is depicted as the bridegroom and Israel is the bride. But this parable suggests a deeper truth the King who symbolizes God and the, representing the union between Christ and his church, which is the redeemed, purified Israel. So the guests invited to the wedding feast represent those who are called to be part of the church. Yes. The phrase the kingdom of heaven refers to God's rule and authority.
Starting point is 01:18:37 What we have been teaching in this class is that the kingdom of heaven is a subset of the kingdom of God. They're not two different things, but the kingdom of heaven is inside the kingdom of God. The kingdom of heaven refers to the manifestation of God's kingdom on this earth between the crucifixion and resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ and his second coming. At the second coming, the kingdom of heaven is absorbed into the kingdom of God. So Jesus said, I'm going to tell you a parable about the kingdom of heaven. This is for now.
Starting point is 01:19:24 Yes. See, there's the dog hair. There's the dog hair in your mouth. I had a big old dog hair on my tongue this morning thinking about this. And by extension, really, it's not only now, it has been going on for a while.
Starting point is 01:19:43 Yes. When you get down into you know verse three and four it talks about guests that previously had been invited but that rejected the invitation that's right so that is happening uh then and now and so um yeah i see where you're where you're going with this rick this great. So despite humanity's sinful state and mankind's unworthiness, God's love overcomes all obstacles. And we are invited to the wedding. We will learn later we have to wear the proper garments,
Starting point is 01:20:31 and we'll get to that next week. But the central theme of this parable is the invitation to the feast, which symbolizes God's offer of salvation, the forgiveness of sins, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the fellowship with God, being invited back into the Garden of Eden. So the king in this parable, who is God, prepares a lavish feast in celebration of his son's marriage.
Starting point is 01:21:14 In ancient times, and it still is today in many societies, it's customary for the father to bear the expenses of the marriage feast or the wedding ceremony if you have a lot of daughters you know what that means even just one daughter you know what that means i only had one i don't know what that meant I feel for people that have four or five six daughters so the marriage is prepared by the king signifies the abundance of spiritual blessings and provisions of grace available through the gospel to those who accept the invitation the wedding feast conveys an image of intimacy joy in the relationship with the king and his son.
Starting point is 01:22:27 It conveys the idea of joy and celebration associated with salvation offered through Jesus Christ. So the term marriage represents the intimate union between two. And that's what's being conveyed here to us. The invitation to the marriage feast extends to both good and bad. And it represents God's invitation to the Gentiles so it wasn't it was just it was too good and bad Jews but then he broadened it and he said hey this is my good and bad Gentiles let's have a big party so we'll later next week we'll get into
Starting point is 01:23:31 the discussion of wedding garments because the phrase clothed in the wedding garment that symbolizes the spiritual readiness and purity of those who attend the wedding feast because it's not we're gonna learn it's not just
Starting point is 01:23:52 enough to show up for the wedding new and a lot of people have that attitude sadly that that's an attitude in the modern church. You can show up wearing anything. So, we get to verse 3. And sent out his servants. This is talking about the king. So the king sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come. Sent out his servants to call those who were invited.
Starting point is 01:24:37 This verse tells us that an invitation had previously been extended to a specific group of people. Look at it again carefully. Sent out his servants to call those who were invited. The people who were invited had already received an invitation. Yes. He sent out his servants to remind the people who were invited, today is the wedding. See it like that. You receive an invitation to a wedding three months from now.
Starting point is 01:25:30 And on the day of the wedding, you get a text message. Hey, don't forget the wedding is today. That's what verse 3 means. So the proclamation of the kingdom was primarily directed toward the jews who were considered the children of the kingdom the king james version says them that were bidden so this refers to the jewish people who were initially chosen and invited by God throughout history. For centuries they were invited by the prophets. Right, so this isn't something that's taking place sometime in the future, because I'm just checking my dispensational handbook over here, and they were saying that this marriage feast is the millennial kingdom. That's what I was taught.
Starting point is 01:26:26 That's straight out of Walvoord and Zook over here. That's what I was taught, Doc. It's not just a dog hair in your mouth. It's a furball. It's a furball that you're hacking up. Yes. By the time we get done this parable, you're going to understand why you've got to get those dog hairs out of your brain.
Starting point is 01:26:51 Because it's having an effect on me as I realize the doctrinal error I was taught for decades. the Jews had been invited the people of Israel the Israelites included more than the Jews included all the tribes of Israel they had been invited by the prophets for centuries there was a persistent call by God to the Israelites
Starting point is 01:27:23 there's going to be a Messianic Kingdom I promised to send the Messiah you are invited to enter into his kingdom when he arrives and the Jews persistently rejected God's call. Because that call required them to get ready for the wedding feast. Right. See, if you're going to a wedding feast today, and you've been working in your garden all day or in your garage you changing the oil on your pickup truck you've been planting flowers or vegetables all right you're dirty are you just going to go directly from your garden or your garage to the wedding?
Starting point is 01:28:26 No. You have to set aside time to get ready for the wedding. And so God called the Jews for centuries, get ready. Clean yourself up. There's going to be a big wedding. It's going to happen when I send the Messiah to you. The Messiah is my son. I want you to be clean, scrubbed up, wearing your wedding garments on the day he arrives. When that day arrives, you won't have time to get ready. You've got to be ready before he arrives.
Starting point is 01:29:14 And this is the message to us today. You can't wait until the second coming to get ready for the wedding. That's right. The wedding's been going on this whole time. It's right now. So, there are two invitations implied in this verse. And we'll see that there's actually another one. But right now, there are two invitations. One invitation that was sent well in advance to allow time for preparation. And then the second invitation to announce the
Starting point is 01:29:56 exact time of the feast. And so the purpose of the servants in this verse is to call those who had been previously invited to notify them that the feast is ready. That big party we've been telling you about, today's the day. Yes. And yet, even they received an invitation beforehand now they had a personal invitation from a representative of the king yes which we know to be the prophets but a personal invitation come to your home the king has invited you to a wedding of his son and then you have these chilling words at the end of verse three they would not come that's right so the first invitation
Starting point is 01:30:56 is seen in the prophetic ministry of the prophets in Israel. Who foretold of a future time of blessing and restoration. And often those prophets would use images of a feast or banquet. Isaiah presented images of a glorious future under the reign of the Messiah. I think Isaiah saw the Messiah in his spirit more than any other prophet. I mean, you read his prophecies. He's like, I'm standing here. I can see.
Starting point is 01:31:48 I can tell you what his robe looks like. In the second call, so the first call were the, let's say, the Old Testament prophets. The first call is represented by the Old Testament prophets. The second call is represented by John the Baptist and his disciples, who announced the imminent arrival of the Messiah and the kingdom of heaven. And the servants in the second call also included the ministry of Jesus and his disciples. Prior to the crucifixion and resurrection. So the first call are the Old Testament prophets. The second call, John the Baptist, his disciples, Jesus and his disciples.
Starting point is 01:32:46 Before the crucifixion and resurrection. So as I said, the Jews had been called by God throughout history. They received numerous calls, invitations, signs, privileges, announcing the coming of the Messiah. They were given prophecies and miracles and laws and ordinances and sacrifices. And God continuously through centuries sought to prepare the Jews for the arrival of his son. And he persistently made efforts to draw the Jewish people to himself in preparation for his son. That time of preparation, of purity. But they would refuse. They consistently refused to get ready.
Starting point is 01:33:49 So now, there's no longer the call to get ready. Now there's a call, this is the time of the wedding feast. The second call occurs on the day of the feast itself indicating the urgency the eminent commencement of the celebration the second call isn't, hey, a thousand years from now, there's going to be the marriage supper of the Lamb. That's what I was taught. Big old furball in my mouth. No. The second call occurred on the day of the feast.
Starting point is 01:34:45 Folks, the party started over 2,000 years ago. And I would say it started before then, too. So, that's an interesting point. Those who, the verse says, to call those who were invited to the wedding feast. So the wedding refers to the marriage feast. And this is a metaphor for the kingdom of heaven. Yes.
Starting point is 01:35:28 You were taught that after Christ comes back there will be a wedding feast a marriage supper in heaven we've all been told oh hey we're gonna have a big meal up in heaven no most of us have been missing the meal throughout our lives. Yes. We're walking around in a banquet hall, and there's food everywhere, and we're hungry, we're starving. Because our religious training,
Starting point is 01:36:07 our doctrinal errors, blind us from seeing the buffet tables. And so we walk around malnourished in this world, saying someday, someday there's going to be a big feast up in heaven. And we're missing the feast today. Yes. The feast symbolizes the culmination of God's redemptive plan.
Starting point is 01:36:43 And the joyous celebration of the arrival of his kingdom. And his kingdom arrived over 2,000 years ago Israel had been anticipating the arrival of the Messiah for generations their entire history as a nation had been leading up to this moment. And yet they would not come. Oh, Doc, they were always eager to hear about the Messiah and his promised blessings. Sure. Talk to us
Starting point is 01:37:22 about the Messiah. Paint us a picture of Israel restored, King David's throne again. We love these stories. But when the Messiah showed up, they were unwilling to submit to him. They were unwilling to enter into his kingdom. Why? Because it didn't fit the images that had been put in their mind by their preachers. The rabbis, the Pharisees, the scribes, for centuries painted an image of the Messiah and his kingdom.
Starting point is 01:38:07 And the same thing is going on today with preachers in the church. So the reluctance of the invited guests to attend the feast represents the hesitancy of the Jews, particularly the religious leaders, to accept Jesus Christ as the true Messiah and embrace his teachings. But they would not come. Despite the clear message, they rejected both John the Baptist, they rejected Jesus Christ,
Starting point is 01:38:51 they rejected the apostles. And the rejection of the servants in this parable symbolizes the refusal of the Jews to acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Son of God. Their rejection was not due to a lack of knowledge. Yes. But it was due to their hardened hearts, their stubbornness, their rebellion, their unwillingness to submit to Jesus Christ so the rejection
Starting point is 01:39:37 of the invitation ultimately led to the invitation being extended to others outside the group and that happens later of course because uh we read in verse four god yet makes the uh father the king makes yet another attempt at getting these invited guests to come in. Verse 4, he sent forth other servants. And so it wasn't for lack of desire on the king's part to bring the guest in. He's extended resources.
Starting point is 01:40:22 We read in verse 4, he has made preparation. Whether anyone else is prepared prepared or not the king has made preparation for the wedding and it's now uh when we think of a wedding or wedding feast we think of a one-day event but in middle eastern custom uh cultures rick it extends like for a week oh yes It's a party for a week, culminating in the wedding. Yes, absolutely. So, Doc, the refusal of the invited guests to come to the wedding illustrates the ingratitude, the stubbornness, the rebellion, the aversion of humankind towards the gospel. It speaks of the depravity of the human mind concerning spiritual matters and eternity. There are two types of calls, two types of a call. There's an internal call by the grace of God that leads to salvation and spiritual blessings. And there's an external call through the preaching of the word that invites people to the kingdom.
Starting point is 01:41:47 First, the internal call. I don't necessarily say first. One call comes through the preaching of the gospel. Then there's an internal call from the Holy Spirit. Think about your own salvation. how were you led to Christ it took both the preaching of the word and the effectual call
Starting point is 01:42:17 by the grace of God and there was usually a servant or a voice involved in that too. God sent someone. Yes. God sent someone. That's the external call. The preaching of the word.
Starting point is 01:42:34 The preaching of the word alone will not save anybody. It must be accompanied by the grace of God. And the grace of God requires the preaching of the word. They work together. So, while the internal call is characterized by God's unchangeable grace and his infallible effectiveness, the external call can be disregarded, neglected, rejected. See, God's call on those Jews is still in effect he's never changed his mind yes they changed their mind
Starting point is 01:43:33 they said we don't want it I think we got time verse 4 again he sent out other servants, saying, Tell those who are invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready.
Starting point is 01:43:56 Come to the wedding feast. So this verse, with the words, My oxen and my fatlings are killed, signifies the preparation of a grand feast. Tell those who are invited, behold, I have prepared my dinner. Yes. The king himself supervised the preparation of his dinner. The feast is his dinner. And he personally supervised the preparation of the food, the drink, the music, the festivities.
Starting point is 01:44:42 Everybody involved in the preparation of this feast were saying hey this is what the king wants he wants this music played he wants the flowers placed over here he wants this dish served first the king had total control over the preparation of the feast it was his feast behold I have prepared my dinner he didn't contract it out he didn't call cater and say hey get something together bring bring some cold and hot dishes over. That's not how it was done. The king personally was involved for a long time preparing the dinner. The metaphor of my dinner represents the gospel message. And the provision of spiritual nourishment through the word of God, the commandments of God, the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Starting point is 01:45:54 And this king displayed great generosity in the preparation of his son's wedding the killing of the oxen and the fatlings represents the sacrifice made for the feast it tells us of the costliness of the provision extended to the guest and so the the killing of the oxen and the fatlings represents there's going to be the shedding of blood. There's going to be a sacrifice. I will spare no cost. This will be the greatest meal I've ever served. Right. But here's the deal.
Starting point is 01:46:41 That meal is being served right now. Yes. but here's the deal that meal is being served right now yes it's not like hey I'm getting ready to go big oh half a steer on the barbecue pit out here no it's tell them the foods ready yes it's it's hot right now it's fresh come and get it Get yourself to the meal. Verse 4 tells us about the abundance, the richness of the blessings offered by God. That those who accept the invitation and attend the wedding shall experience peace and joy. Mind you, this is not the wedding. This is the wedding feast.
Starting point is 01:47:25 Yes. It's the wedding feast we should be attending right now. The wedding feast is characterized by grandeur, richness, generosity, lavishness. It's rich and sufficient, plenty of blessings, abundance of grace made available through Jesus Christ. And this feast is far superior to any other feast previously offered by this king. i said it's the grandest of all feasts and its superiority represents the completeness of the salvation offered through christ my cattle and my fatlings are killed the preparation of the oxen and the fatlings symbolizes the sacrificial atonement of Christ. All things are ready. Means everything necessary for the feast has already been prepared and is available now.
Starting point is 01:48:49 The invitation, come. Come. It's the call to participate now in the kingdom of heaven. Amen. To enjoy the blessings of the kingdom of heaven now. So, Dr., I think we'll pick this up yeah yeah we need to have the Lord sir is this is the perfect time to have Holy Communion yes because this is the feast that is ongoing. Yes. All right, folks.
Starting point is 01:49:32 We are getting ready to participate in the Lord's Supper, the communion. And so if you have the elements of bread and either grape juice or red wine, either one, we invite you to get those ready right now. We're going to pray over those here in just a moment. For many of you, this is a weekly occurrence, and we have usually three to four hundred people that join us every week live for communion. But even if you're listening at different times, that's okay. Just have the elements of communion, and we'll pray over those as well, no matter where you are or what time you are. Who qualifies? Well, those who have confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and have been baptized in water according to scriptures.
Starting point is 01:50:13 And if you've made that confession of faith and you've been obedient to the Lord's work and baptism, then we invite you to participate in the Lord's Supper. Generally, what we do before we participate in this most holy of ordinances is we ask the Lord to search our hearts for anything that may stand between us and him and entering into this with a clear conscience of mind and heart. And so, Rick, I'm going to ask if you would to pray for us that the Lord would remove any roadblock or any stumbling block or anything in our relationship with him. Don't let us refuse the meal that he's prepared for us here.
Starting point is 01:50:55 Don't let us miss the opportunity for the blessing that he wishes to share with us in this meal. So would you pray for us, Rick? Of course. Heavenly Father, in the name of So would you pray for us, Rick? Of course. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we pray. Father, we are blessed by this parable today.
Starting point is 01:51:18 You generously, lavishly prepared a feast for us, and that feast is already made. It's prepared and you're calling people to come now to your banquet table and enjoy all the blessings in your kingdom. So Father, just as we have learned today that you called people to prepare for the feast. And that preparation meant repentance and purification, a life of holiness.
Starting point is 01:51:58 Then, Father, as we come to this feast of the Lord's Supper, we too prepare our hearts and our minds to be worthy to sit down at the Lord's table. And so, Father, we confess our sins, our deeds, our thoughts, our words that are contrary to your kingdom and grievous to your Holy Spirit. We repent. to your kingdom and grievous to your Holy Spirit we repent we think
Starting point is 01:52:30 about it in a new way we turn and change our direction and we ask you to forgive us to cleanse us with the blood of your son Jesus Christ that we may sit down at his table this very moment and partake of his
Starting point is 01:52:48 flesh and his blood with holy hands and holy lips and holy hearts in the name of Jesus amen amen all right if you have the elements of communion there in front of you we're going to pray the Lord's blessing over those as we enter into this feast today, this continuing feast that goes on. And so if you have the elements of communion, join with me in prayer for the Lord's blessing on it. Almighty God, in your tender mercy, you gave your only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to suffer death upon the cross for our redemption. He offered himself and made once for all time a perfect and sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world.
Starting point is 01:53:33 And he instituted this remembrance of his passion and death, which he commanded us to continue until he comes again. we ask you to bless and sanctify with your word and your Holy Spirit these gifts of bread and wine that we may partake of his most blessed body and blood. Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed once for all upon the cross. Therefore, let us keep the feast. Alleluia. On the night that he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying,
Starting point is 01:54:10 Take, eat. This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. The body of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was given for you, preserve your body and soul to everlasting life. This is the bread of heaven. Take and eat in remembrance that Christ died for you. After supper, Jesus took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, Drink this, all of you,
Starting point is 01:54:45 for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this in remembrance of me. Praise God. The blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was shed for for you preserve your body and soul to everlasting life drink the cup of salvation and remembrance that Christ's blood was shed for you and be thankful behold the
Starting point is 01:55:14 Lamb of God behold him who takes away the sins of the world and blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb this sacrament is the gift of God for the people of God. Feed on him by faith with thanksgiving that Christ died for you. Praise God. The feast that continues to feed.
Starting point is 01:55:35 Praise the Lord. Rick, we have about three minutes left in our hour here. Any final thoughts or recap of the week here so far? Well, I think the message I want to get across to everybody is the marriage feast is underway now. Yes.
Starting point is 01:55:53 You don't have to wait until you die or Christ comes back. You don't have to wait until the Lord resurrects everybody to partake of the feast. That's the revelation to me today. Yes. The feast is underway now. And the feast is abundant. It is joyful. It is happy.
Starting point is 01:56:18 It is richly supplied. The king has made the dinner and it is ready and the dinner is the kingdom he said the kingdom of heaven is like yes we are in the kingdom of heaven now on this earth the message for us today is don't allow the hardships of life, the challenges of life, the problems of life to steal your joy, your happiness,
Starting point is 01:56:55 your blessings. You're in the kingdom. You're at the feast. Be joyful even in your trials and tribulations. The feast is so great that you can be happy in the midst of your trials and tribulations. Amen.
Starting point is 01:57:15 So the world is not seeing the happiness of the church. The joy of the church has really dissipated in the past 20 years boy isn't that the truth it's gone I don't know where to go to find joy anymore in churches this is what the Lord wants us to regain his people should be joyful. His people should be
Starting point is 01:57:49 blessed and happy and partaking of his goodness every day. Testifying of his goodness. Where did you get these blessings? Over down at the feast. Check your mail. You may have gotten an invitation.
Starting point is 01:58:08 And if you didn't get one, I'll say something to my father. I'll ask him to send you one. Make sure you're dressed for it. But you've got to be cleaned up and dressed, okay? See, if we understood what's going on, we would be able to present the gospel better to people.
Starting point is 01:58:25 You see, going through the parable like this makes a whole lot more sense than trying to shoehorn it into Revelation and the marriage supper of the Lamb and everything like that. You know, this is just this is ongoing wedding feast that's been going on in many ways. It's still going on in many ways it's still going on it's not the married supper of the lamb per se but it's the feast it's the feast it's the feast we're in the feast stage right okay once you get that dog hair stuff out it's really thought more sense and then go ahead i was just going to say and also remember he's still responding to the chief priests and elders about authority here and so he hasn't completed his answer on authority yet no because he's about to tell them hey you're not dressed for this party right we'll get to that on Monday. All right. Take care.
