This is True News for Friday, November 22nd, 2024, the anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Let's begin our analysis and commentary of today's news with a tweet from former Russian President

Dmitry Medvedev, who included a video of the Russian ICBM striking Ukraine. And he tweeted, these are his words, so that's what you wanted? Well, you damn well got it. A hypersonic ballistic missile attack. Very direct. To the point. Medvedev, who used to be the mild-mannered, easy-going Russian leader, who was cool, funny. He's not funny anymore. He's angry, and he's very blunt, and he said, you wanted a missile attack, didn't you?

Well, you got it. A hypersonic ballistic missile. Are you happy now? That you did not stop. That you did not stop. That you did not stop. Okay. Folks, I can't emphasize strong enough how far things have deteriorated in the past 72 hours. You're not going to hear it in the American news media.

You're not going to hear it on podcasts. You're not going to understand it. Anybody who looks at news websites, I guess there are people that still read newspapers. But things are going downhill rapidly. Doc, I'm truly worried. I'm truly worried. I'm truly concerned. I've never seen anything decline this steep and this rapid

that a nuclear-armed nation just demonstrated its ability and its willingness to hit Western targets. We're going to tell you some things that Mr. Putin said. He had a nationally televised speech yesterday with the Russian people. He outlined the Russian plan. You need to know about it so this is uh the synopsis published by rt a new hypersonic missile conflict escalation and a warning for nato which you need to know from putin's latest address said russian president putin delivered a televised address from the kremlin on thursday evening outlining Moscow's response to recent escalations of the Ukraine conflict. He revealed that Russia had deployed a new

hypersonic missile system in a strike on a Ukrainian territory, criticized the United States for escalating tensions, and reiterated Moscow's willingness to engage in peace talks while blaming Washington for the conflict becoming global in nature. That means world war. Right. Deployment of the new hypersonic missile. Putin confirmed that Russia has used its latest hypersonic ballistic missile system, nicknamed Orsnik.

Is that right? Yes. Orsnik. In English, it means hazel. During a strike on a Ukrainian defense industry facility Thursday morning, the missile is part of Moscow's new generation of medium-range weapons, travels at speeds up to Mach 10. Putin emphasized that no existing air or missile defense system, including those deployed in the U.S. or by the U.S. and Europe, are capable of intercepting the missile.

Putin said, quote, there are no means of countering such weapons today. Doc, that, I think, has sent, I think, not the words, the demonstration has sent the West into shock. And they have been pretty quiet about it, haven't they, Rick, about the missile strike, about its capabilities. Yes, they're not talking about it. No. Let's go ahead. I'll let you read some. So the Americans are making the Ukraine conflict global. Putin accused the U.S. and NATO of deliberately escalating the crisis by providing Kiev with long-range, high-precision weapons capable

of striking Russian territory. This week, Ukraine used those American-made attackams and British storm shadow missile systems to strike targets in Russian's Bransk and Kursk regions. Mr. Putin said these attacks demonstrate the West's intent to transform the Ukraine conflict into a global war. He stressed that these weapons could not be used without the direct involvement of U.S. and NATO military specialists. He's quoted as saying, this regional conflict provoked by the West has now acquired global

elements, the president declared. And it goes on to say in this article, U.S. defense is helpless against Russian hypersonic weapons systems. Mr. Putin highlighted the strategic advantage to NATO's increasingly aggressive actions, including Washington's withdrawal from the INF Treaty back in 2019 under the Trump administration. He said, quote, missiles like Orishnik are our answer to NATO's plans to deploy medium and shorter range missiles in Europe and the Asian Pacific, he said. Rick, any thoughts on what we've read so far? Yes. He said, we commented a moment ago,

this regional conflict provoked by the West has now acquired global elements. Vladimir Putin has now officially declared this a world war. That's right. He has. Up until last night, has now officially declared this a world war. That's right. He has. Up until last night,

it was always a special military operation. It wasn't a war. Using their terminology, it was a special military operation. The Russian military was carrying out a special military operation in Ukraine. They never called it a war. Yes. They went from special military operation, a localized regional fight,

to a global world war that's happened in 24 hours. Putin has now declared we're in World War III. That's the first thing I see. He said U.S. defenses are helpless against Russian hypersonic weapons, including those at

U.S. bases in Europe. Why did he say that? Because they're going to be the target. They're going to strike U.S. military bases in Europe. He wanted the United States of America and the European allies to know their missiles will reach U.S., United States military bases in Europe. Where are the bases in Europe? I mean, Germany's full of them. Poland?

Poland? UK? They're all over Europe. Yes. And so every one of those Western leaders now knows that they're incapable of stopping incoming Russian ICBMs carrying nuclear warheads. And he just demonstrated it. See, we've been saying for quite some time, they're going to demonstrate.

They're going to do a demonstration. I thought they would do a nuclear demonstration somewhere in a remote area. Just set off a nuke and say, there, you see that? That's a mushroom cloud. But that's not what they did. They delivered a hit inside. They used an ICBM to deliver a warhead, conventional warhead, that only had to travel a couple hundred miles. You don't use ICBMs for short-range missions to reach a short-range target. They used an ICBM to demonstrate to the West, you didn't see it coming, and you couldn't

stop it. Correct. Yes. And the next time we do it, it's not going to be in Ukraine. So it goes on in that same article from RT to say that it's the Americans who destroyed the system of international security. The Russian president placed blame squarely on Washington for dismantling global arms control agreements and eroding international security. He said said it was not Russia but the United States that destroyed the system of international security, referring to the collapse of the INF Treaty back in 2019. He accused the U.S. of clinging to its hegemony at the expense of global stability,

stating that the Americans are pushing the whole world toward a global conflict. And then President Putin went on to express what his position is on the deployment of missiles. Mr. Putin announced that while Russia has refrained, up till now, of deploying medium and shorter-range missiles globally, it would now reassess this policy in response to U.S. actions. He warned that future targets for Russia's advanced systems would be chosen based on perceived threats to national security. As a humanitarian gesture, he stated that civilians in targeted areas

would be warned in advance to evacuate. And then finally in this article, reflecting the announcement that he made to the Russian people last night, that he's issuing a call for peace and a warning to the West. And despite his tough words, Mr. Putin reiterated that Russia remains open to talks, but warned of decisive retaliation against escalating aggression. We have always preferred and are still ready to resolve all disputes through peaceful means, he said. However, he cautioned Western leaders, particularly in Washington, to take Russia's warnings seriously.

There will always be an answer to attacks on Russia, he said. Dr. John Ankerberg Dr. John Ankerberg, this morning, very early this morning, in fact, as I was getting dressed this morning, sometime after 4 a.m., I'm not saying I heard the Lord say this to me, but this thought came to my mind this morning. The Russians are going to tell certain cities, you have so many hours to evacuate. I'm telling you. I'm not saying that the Lord told me that,

or whether I was just thinking that on my own this morning. God is my witness. I was thinking that very early this morning. Cities will be given a notice. You have so many hours to evacuate. Had you heard President Merckx? No, no. Because I heard it last night.

No, I didn't. And he said those very words last night. I didn't see this until about 30 minutes ago. That he was going to give warnings? No, I read it the first time about 30 minutes ago. Which tells me that they have the cities already targeted. They're going to national security. I probably depressed my staff early this morning.

I don't know what time I sent that message out to everybody. The map? The map. Yes. You want to look and see? I don't know what time I sent that. I see. I thought, that's what I was thinking this morning. Right before 6.

Just before 6 a.m. So yeah, so if you work for me, these are the kind of messages you get at 5 55 a.m or whatever um i i sent our team a map of the state of florida with all the military bases in florida and i said you need to study when what did i put uh consider wind conditions when uh, direction of wind. Right. Okay? Because that's what I was thinking this morning. How close are we right now here in Vero Beach? How close are we to military bases?

Well, we have one directly across the state at Tampa. And that's Southern Command over there. Yes. That one's going to get hit. You. That one's going to get hit. You know that one's going to get hit. The wind's going to come. The wind, there it is. Okay.

You see in the lower part of the map, that's that white circle. That's Lake Okeechobee. We are directly east to the right of Lake Okeechobee along the coast. So every one of those yellow squares is a military base. Some of them are major bases. You need to look at a map of your state, and you need to know how many bases are in your state, and what is the probability that one or more of those bases would be hit in a limited nuclear war. We told you yesterday, and I forget the name of the, I think it was an admiral, U.S. admiral, who said, we're not going to use our entire arsenal.

We're going to retain some of them for future conflicts. What does that mean? So if the U.S. has 6,000 warheads what is what's a conservative number?

1,000? You're going to use up 1,000? Is that a conservative number? 1 thousand? You're going to use up a thousand? Is that a conservative number? A thousand nuclear missiles. Warheads. Right. So a thousand sites in Russia are taken out?

And if Russia says, well, you know, we're going to conserve our arsenal too. We're only going to use 1,000. Okay, so have a map of the United States and pick 1,000 cities. 1,000. Okay. Or at least pick 1,000 sites that missiles would hit. Because certain cities will receive

multiple missiles. I mean, if you're a major city like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Fort Worth, it's going to take numerous warheads to destroy those cities. But it's going to be a conservative war. We'll hold back. It's not going to be a liberal war, a conservative war. These are frugal maniacs. They're not going to waste taxpayer money, Doc. They're not going to waste the taxpayers' money.

They're going to conserve and have a limited, frugal nuclear war. They won't waste taxpayers' money, just waste taxpayers'. Yes, that's different, wasting the taxpayers'. These people are actually thinking like this. You need to look at where the military bases are at in your state. Are you downwind from a military base?

Are you going to be receiving the radiation. Folks, you need to be prepared for this to happen anywhere between now and the next 60 days. Things are deteriorating rapidly. We're not at a place anymore of, well, Putin's bluffing. He's not bluffing.

He just did his first demonstration. Less than what? is bluffing. He's not bluffing. He just did his first demonstration less than, what, 30, 35 hours ago? Right. And then he went on national television and said, I will give advance warning to the cities that we're going to destroy because it'll be humanitarian.

It'll be the humane thing to do. Do you know what kind of panic is going to be in European and American cities when the Russians announce certain cities are going to be destroyed within 24 hours? Can you picture this, Doc? You know what? I don't think they will panic. I think they'll believe that Putin is bluffing until one goes up in smoke. Then the reality kicks in.

Right. Because reality hasn't kicked in yet. So on the second warning, then do they panic? No, the people aren't. There's no reality to this at all. Nobody believes it. The few people who are paying attention are listening to people like Lloyd Austin saying Putin is bluffing. Yeah, he's not going to use nukes.

Come on, folks. The Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, says the global conflict is a real threat. Well, the globalists got him into that position last year to get ready for this war. That's right. Because the other guy wasn't on board. He wasn't on board. They had to get him out. They got Tusk in. He's a true globalist.

Tusk has warned that a global conflict is serious and real and that the war in Ukraine has entered a decisive stage. That's important, Doc. Tusk says this war has now entered a decisive stage decisive means decisions

have been made he said it sounds like donald tusk has uh uh accepted the fact that there will be a city is destroyed yes this is what i'm trying to say. The decisions have been made on both sides. And he knows Poland's going to get hit. Because yesterday the Russians said Poland is a target. So it said, referring to Russian President Putin's threat that Moscow could strike the military installations of any country whose weapons were used against Russia, Donald Tusk said Friday, none of us knows the end of this conflict, but we do know that it is currently taking on a very dramatic dimension. The events of the past several hours show that the threat of a global conflict is truly serious and real. Finally, you guys waking up to this?

The warning comes as Britain's armed forces said they were ready to respond to any Russian aggression against Eastern Europe. Deputy Chief of the Defense Staff, General Sir Robert McGowan, told the UK Parliament's Defense Committee, if the British Army were asked to fight tonight, it would fight tonight. This is World War II talk. Yes. If the king asks us to go to Germany, we will go tonight.

This is repeating history. The head of the British army said, we're ready to fight tonight. Which also means we're eager. Give us the command. Turn us loose. Let us march to Moscow. But isn't this a change?

It wasn't just a couple of months ago where they were saying that they didn't have enough people to fight a war? Yes. That they were going to call up the entire nation to fight the war? Yes. So what's changed in those two months? Putin has, they've realized they've pushed Putin so far he's going to fight today. And it's real now. And it's real.

So the question is this. Are they going to continue pushing Putin and we get clobbered? Or are they going to pull back and keep building their armies for a bigger war later? Has the plan, has it gone too far and they know we can't push it anymore? Or is their plan to push it until it breaks? Is the plan to get Russia in a war now, clobber Russia, that's in their mind, they think they're going to clobber Russia, and then build their armies for a future war with China? Is that the plan?

Or are they now becoming alarmed? We may have pushed this too far, and we weren't ready to fight this war in 2024, 2025. He is. He's ready to fight now. I don't know. I just know that a lot of us could die. Even if it doesn't go full global, even if it's just regional.

They're talking regional. They're talking limited nuclear war. Folks, you have to understand this. They're talking about limited nuclear war. We're going to conserve our arsenal. We read that story yesterday. Admiral Thomas Buchanan. Yes.

They would not use their entire nuclear arsenal, the United States. Meaning, they've already made a decision. Here are the targets we're going to hit in Russia. No more than that. And then we're going to conserve the rest of our arsenal for the war against China.

This is so insane. It's hard. Please tell me I'm in a matrix. This isn't happening. This is all programmed. It's not happening, Doc. Would that make you feel better? I don't know.

I just, come quickly, Lord Jesus. Amen. That's the answer. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. Jesus said, if his father does not shorten the days. All flesh. No flesh would survive. Okay.

Does that make sense to you now? Sky News. Britain is directly involved in the Ukraine war, says the Russian ambassador. And that's the Russian ambassador to the UK, Andre Kellen. Britain is now directly involved in the Ukraine war after its storm shadow missiles were used to strike targets inside russia that's according to moscow's ambassador speaking to sky news andre kellen also warned the west to carefully consider the lower bar russia has established for using nuclear weapons we have a couple cuts from this particular interview's start off with one that directly connects Britain

to being directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine. So are you saying now that Britain is directly involved in this war? Absolutely. Britain and UK is now directly involved in this war because this fighting cannot happen without NATO staff, British staff as well. But you are using Chinese dual-use technology. You're using Iranian missiles.

You're using Iranian drones. You're using North Korean troops. So are you saying all those countries are now directly involved too? You do not allow me to answer. I'm just saying it can't work both ways, really. How it works both ways. On that subject, I can say easily that we have plenty of mercenaries from different countries that are fighting right now on the side of Ukraine. We just have seen in Kursk area the Polish unit, which has a special uniform worn by Polish soldiers. So what's the matter?

You hear what he said there at the end, that there were Polish troops in the Kursk region? In Kursk? Yeah. Oh, I didn't, I heard him say there were Polish soldiers, but I didn't understand he was saying in Kursk, which means inside Russia. Right. So he said, you guys already have NATO troops on Russian soil. That's coming from the Russian ambassador to the UK. Oh, what's in the next one? The next one, the interviewer there is asking about, is Russia really serious about all this, really? Or is this basically a bluff?

Here's what Ambassador Kellen had to say. The threat, of course, now is that President Putin could use nuclear weapons. Is that a serious threat or is that an empty threat? Well, a lot of people are now speaking about the, in conjunction with the firing of these missiles, they are talking about changes that we have done to our nuclear deterrence doctrine. That is right. It has been adapted closely to the realities of the current war, of course. And I hope — let me finish, please, on that.

I hope that it will be carefully considered by Western experts in order to understand what are the risks of escalations, not to underestimate them, because it is dangerous. And another thing what I would like to say in this connection is also important, that actually in this respect I have to say that the Russian population, an overwhelming majority of the Russian population is supporting what has been done by the Russian leadership and also the other very important issue is that Russian leadership is fully united on that and on this matter and on all the others. And there is no sense to find some news, to search for some nuances or shades in it. Right. Well, and then one more clip here is don't underestimate Russia's

resolve to respond. They will respond. They will respond. This comes from the UK ambassador, the Russian ambassador to the UK. You seem to be saying that there is a possibility that there could be some sort of nuclear strike. I didn't say that. But we have many options how to respond and what will be done, a careful assessment and then perhaps a response. I'm not sure what will be done, a careful assessment, and then perhaps a response. I'm not sure what will be the decision. But perhaps a nuclear response?

I didn't say that. No, I do not know. I thought you just said... No, no, no. I do not know. I have said that there is a variety and different possibilities of responding to this irresponsible decision that has been taken by British and United States government. You see, most nuclear-armed countries play down the possible use of nuclear weapons.

Russia seems to be ramping up the possible use of nuclear weapons. No, a lot of Western experts were saying that many red lines have been crossed, and this is another red line that has been crossed, and this is another red line that has been crossed, and nothing is going to happen. I don't think so. As I have said, we will do an assessment, and a response will come. But so basically he's promising there will be a response. Don't think that this is a bluff.

Don't consider that this is something that we're just blowing hot air about. If you continue down this path, Russia will respond. And we have a whole bunch of different things in our toolbox to respond with, not just nuclear. We have other weapons, too. But we see the arrogance of Western nations in the questioning by the Sky News reporter. Right. I'm glad you commented on that because this interview was at the Russian embassy in London. And so this reporter or interview, I don't know what his name is, was in somebody else's house. And you see how rude he was?

Yes. To the Russian ambassador to the UK. Who's talking, whose country he's talking about nuking Great Britain because of Great Britain sending missiles into his country. Right. Do you think after that interview was over, he called the Kremlin and said, you won't believe the interview I had with Sky News just a few minutes ago? I'm sure he did. I'm sure he did.

wounded uh in a recent ukrainian strike in russia's cursed region so so again this means the north korean general was inside russia right when he was wounded by ukraine it is the first time western officials have said that a high-ranking North Korean military officer has become a casualty in the escalating Russia-Ukraine conflict. Western officials didn't disclose how the senior North Korean officer was wounded or his identity. News week. North Korean troops in Russia kill North Korean troops inside Russia. This is insane. This is totally insane. Is she a woman or a man?

That's a great question in itself. If you watch the video of this person, you'll ask a lot of questions. How many freaks are in our government? Do you understand these demonic freaks are going to take us into a nuclear war? We've allowed our government to be taken over by demoniacs, sexual perverts, pedophiles. Just look at where we're at. And they're leading us into a nuclear war. We've got some video clips of Sabrina Singh saying that we can kill North Korean troops inside Russia.

Let's watch. On this sort of scale of escalation, where do you see the IRBM? It's obviously not an ICBM, but a level of concern. And where is this sort of line, this particular missile? So this was a new type of lethal capability that was employed on the battlefield. So that's certainly of concern to us. And're going to you know I don't have an assessment of its impacts right now but it's something that of course we're concerned by but what's been escalatory in this war is the fact that Russia decided to turn to a foreign country and bring those you know DPRK soldiers into the fight So we're going to continue to monitor what we're focused on is supporting Ukraine and arming Ukraine with what it needs.

So they're blaming Russia for the continued escalation by inviting North Korean troops into the country. But it was a few weeks ago that was John Kirby speaking from the press dais in the White House, where he said specifically, and so this is the administration talking, that North Korean troops were fair game in the conflict. Let's watch this. South Korean press is reporting that according to intelligence, these troops, North Korean troops, lack understanding of modern warfare, such as as drone attacks and it's anticipated there will be a high number of casualties when deployed to the front lines. Too soon to know. I mean we don't really know what they're

gonna be used for, where they're gonna, if they're gonna, if they're gonna deploy, where they're gonna deploy, into what purpose. I can tell you one thing though, if they do deploy to fight against Ukraine, they're fair game. They're fair targets. And the Ukrainian military will defend themselves against North Korean soldiers the same way they're defending themselves against Russian soldiers. And so the possibility that there could be dead and wounded North Korean soldiers fighting against Ukraine is absolutely real if they get deployed. But they're deployed inside Russia. Yes.

South Korea's top security advisor said on Friday, quote, Russia is believed to have provided equipment and anti-air missiles to strengthen Pyongyang's vulnerable air defense system. And this is a Mr. Shin. I don't have the name. This is the advisor. His last name is Shin. Said this on a TV interview with SBS in South Korea. And he said that following North Korea's failed military spy satellite launch on May 27, Russia had already declared its intention to support satellite-related technologies to the north, and it reportedly supplied various military technologies. We believe that there has also been economic aid in various forms.

Reuters. North Korea's Kim Jong-un accuses the United States of stoking tension, warns of nuclear war. It's in the headlines and people aren't believing it. A man that has ICBMs and nuclear warheads. A guy that's paranoid, thinks the United States is out to kill him. Because they are out to kill him United States is out to kill him. Because they are out to kill him. They are out to kill him. And he might just authorize a strike.

I guarantee you when Russia hits a western city, he's going to hit one too. I could see that happening. Because he's not going to have another opportunity, is he? No. Russia's key ally warns of World War III. Yes, that's come from the Belarusian president, Alexander Lukashenko. He said that the world is teetering on the brink of World War III. And he's sounding the alarm about the recent escalation of the Ukraine conflict. Mr. Lukashenko made the remarks Friday morning during an address to university students in Minsk, days after Ukraine had launched several strikes using the U.S.-made Atacoms and HIMARS systems,

as well as the British-made Storm Shadow missiles. He said, we've been talking a lot lately about how, God forbid, World War III might start, that we are on the brink of that terrible event. But thank God, somehow, humanity is still restraining itself and has not yet plunged into World War III, the president said, adding that the information war, however, is now in full swing. He added that the Ukraine conflict should be settled through talks involving Russia, Ukraine, Belarus. No Americans, no Europeans. They won't do anything good for us. We have to sit down and come to an agreement,

he stressed. I would slightly disagree with the Belarusian president. Humanity is not restraining itself. The hand of God is holding back Armageddon. Yes, because humanity would go full barrels. That's right.

As Jesus said, as we quoted earlier, if his Father doesn't intervene and shorten the days, no flesh will survive. It's God who's holding back the war. And none of us know how long he will hold it back. Will he let it lose stock? Will he just say,

go at it. Go ahead, destroy yourselves. At some point, he does. At some point, he does. At some point, he does. He lifts his hand of protection. I found this obscure article, Ukraine accused of stealing Western aid. Is that a surprise?

Wow. I don't know. Is that a Ukrainian website? I'm not sure. I don't know. Is that a Ukrainian website? I'm not sure. I don't know. It's obscure. copa has made a statement accusing ukrainian authorities of massive embezzlement of western aid provided amid the ongoing conflict according to him up to half of the alley up to half of the allocated funds never reached their destination and ended up in the pockets of corrupt Ukrainian officials. I was saying to you yesterday, Rick, after we've given them long-range missiles, what's left? Nuclear. They're talking about it now. They're saying, you know...

If they're talking about it, they've already decided. And they're putting it out in the paper to get you inoculated to the idea. That's right. Oh, dear God. Yeah. Let's just give Ukraine nukes.

Okay. Lookie here. Look what's in this warehouse. Old Soviet nukes. We've been holding them for you. We kept them on layaway for you, Ukraine. We've got to get them out of here. They're taking up space.

Was Donald Trump going to stand in front of the Capitol and be inaugurated the President of the United States while we're in a war? Nukes are hitting the Pentagon? These people who are in control of the West,

including the United States, I truly believe they're demon-possessed. I don't know anything else to explain their behavior. It's so odd, so weird, so unexplainable that people would deliberately push for a nuclear war that could end up in a billion people dying. I don't know how to explain it other than the presence of demons. And so what I'm trying to tell you, and I started talking, I don't remember how many months before the election, saying they're going to Trump-proof the war. I never imagined this, Doc.

I thought they're going to do all kinds of stuff. They're going to rush weapons to Ukraine, lots of money. They're going to sign treaties. They're going to do all kinds of stuff. But certainly, they're not crazy enough to start a nuclear war before January 20th. Yes, they are. Yes, they are. Yes.

Even if you don't believe that aspect of it, history itself teaches us that we're due for this conflict. Yes. We're in the turning now. We're in the final stage of the fourth turning, which I still believe the Lord said will end in the 2030s. And I'm trying to process this myself. Are we going to have a limited nuclear war

with Russia in 2024, 2025, over a span of a couple weeks? Are we going to have a limited nuclear war? Well, we've already had one, you know. When? We had one in 1945. We had a limited nuclear war. Well, yes. Yeah, but I'm talking about—

So we've already experienced that. Yes. But it was one-sided. Yes. Japan didn't have any on their side, okay? Are we going to have a one-to-two, three-week nuclear war with Russia in late December, early January? Right now, I am, from my own thinking, I'm bracing for, yes, we are. It's coming. And it's coming just at Christmastime,

which resonates with the prophetic warning that I've been discerning for over 10, 12 years, that it would happen at Christmastime. Those of you who have followed me for years, you know how many times I've talked about war at Christmastime. This Christmas now looks real. In the past, I would just get antsy and nervous at Christmas, thinking what could pop up. There wasn't really anything going on.

But that was before you knew about hypersonic missiles. That's right. Now, hypersonic missiles have entered the play. That's right. That we did not defend against. That's right. They came through. They got past the U.S. air defense systems from Ukraine.

Some have said that the Pentagon was given a heads up, that they were given a warning about it. You know, I saw that in the Russian media. And I was like, are you serious? The Russians warned? Yes. Which makes it even doubly worse for the Americans because they had a warning. They were waiting for it. That's why, you know what?

That's why, again, it goes back to the embassy was shut down. They were given the warning. What was that, Wednesday? The U.S. embassy shut down. They put everybody into bunkers. Because the Russians gave them a warning. And the Russians probably gave them several targets. Yes.

To confuse them. But still, the Patriot missile systems were not able to defend against an incoming medium-range hypersonic missile. That means that Russia can strike anywhere in Europe. They can sit off the coast of the United States, take out Norfolk, take out D.C., take out Pensacola, take out Jacksonville, and sit quietly out there. So this is a reality now that we have no defense against a first-strike weapon by Russia. And it's really not a first strike. It's a response strike because of the escalation we've done.

We don't know what other weapons the Russians have. That's right. If they got this, what else they got? So think about Henry Groover's dream. Yes. What was that, back in the 70s, the 80s, he had that dream that the war with Russia started and when the American generals initiated the launch of American ICBMs, nothing happened.

They pushed the buttons and nothing happened. No missiles came out of their silos. Does Russia have the ability, an EMP type of weapon that shuts down everything or do they take out our satellites right look we may find out here in the next 30 to 60 days

and more than anything else I care about your soul that's the most care about your soul. That's the most important thing, your soul. I don't want one person leaving this life unsaved. And so if you're not saved, if you're not baptized, you need to get this done right away.

I don't even recall hearing about Salt Typhoon, the worst telecom hack in nation history. I don't even recall hearing about salt typhoon. Just in passing.

Just in passing. Now we're being told this is probably the biggest hack that has ever happened. In the history of the nation. So the Chinese government espionage campaign that has deeply penetrated more than a dozen U.S. telecom companies is being called the worst telecom hack in our nation's history by far. That's coming from a senior U.S. senator. The hackers, part of a group called Salt Typhoon, have been able to listen in on audio calls in real time and have, in some cases, moved from one telecom network to another,

exploiting relationships of trust. That's coming from Senator Mark Warner of Virginia. He's the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, and he's also a former telecom venture capitalist. Now, though fewer than 150 victims have been identified and notified by the FBI, most of them in the D.C. region, the records of people those individuals have called or sent text messages to run into the millions, he said, and that number could go up dramatically. The hackers targeted the phones of Donald Trump and his running mate, Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, as well as people working

for the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris and State Department officials. Now, the networks are still compromised. Listen to that. The networks are still compromised and booting the hackers out could involve physically replacing literally thousands and thousands and thousands of pieces of equipment across the country, specifically outdated routers and switchers. Before we switch, let's look at what he said. Senator Warner of Virginia said

the hackers targeted the phones of Donald Trump and J.D. Vance. The phones are compromised. The Chinese have been listening to Donald Trump's phone calls. This is the first time I've heard this. They've basically been listening to everybody in Washington, D.C. Everybody.

So this is an ongoing effort by China to infiltrate telecom systems around the world, to exfiltrate a huge amount of data, he said. We've had for the last decade voluntary public-private partnerships efforts, said Ann Neuberger, Deputy National Security Advisor for Cyber and Emerging Tech. But we continue to see successful breaches. And in many cases, as with ransomware attacks, we continue to see pretty basic cybersecurity practices not being followed. Now that China's hackers have become even more brazen, pre-positioning themselves in U.S. and other countries' critical infrastructure, we need to lock our digital doors, Neuberger said.

But going back to what Warner said, in order to get the Chinese out, you basically have to rebuild our entire digital telecom system. The whole system, to get the Chinese out of the system. It's like a Y2K. That's what I was just going to say. In fact, this is bigger than Y2K. They're saying the whole phone system has been penetrated by the Chinese.

And the entire system has to be rebuilt. Hey, before we close, and this is my opinion, I know a lot of people are very excited about President Trump coming into power. I'm glad he won. I would like everything to be rosy. I would like everything just to be wonderful. Unfortunately, it isn't. And we could, as I have said, we could see a limited nuclear war. We don't know with things like the Chinese hacking, we don't know what can come out of this. economy that I believe the Biden administration and the media kept away from the public. We are in the final, the next to the last chapter of Matthew. We're in chapter 27, and then in December we will be in chapter 28, and we will finish the book of Matthew

before Christmas. That is our goal, and most likely in, we will start with the book of Romans. So today we're looking at Matthew 27 verses 19 through 26. I'm going to pray and Doc's going to read the word. Father God, thank you for this brisk, chilly morning here in Florida today. Father, we give you glory and honor and praise and thanksgiving for being our Father. Father, your sons and daughters from many nations are gathered right now on the internet in this digital virtual Bible study class to be fed by your Holy Spirit from your word. And so, Father, we're hungry, we're eager, we're listening, and we ask that the Holy Spirit take his seat at the head of the table and conduct this class.

In the name of Jesus, amen. Amen. And we are continuing in our study in Matthew chapter 27. We're going to pick back up today at verse 19, going through verse 26. Today I'm reading from the New King James. So verse 19, while he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife, this is Pilate's wife, sent to him saying, have nothing to do with this just man, for I've suffered many things today in a dream because of him. But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. The governor answered and said to them, which of the two do you want me to release to you? And they said, Barabbas. Pilate

said to them, what then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ? They all said to him, Let him be crucified. Then the governor said, Why? What evil has he done? But they cried out all the more, saying, Let him be crucified. When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that atonement was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I'm innocent of the blood of this just person.

You see to it. And all the people answered and said, His blood be on us and our children. Then he released Barabbas to them, and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. Verse 19. Jesus he delivered him to be crucified verse 19 when he sat down on the judgment seat his wife sent unto him saying have thou nothing to do with that just man for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

Start with Pontius Pilate is seated. He's in a seated position. And he's seated on the judgment seat. the chair that the Roman governor is expected to sit upon when he is conducting a court trial and so Pilate has taken his official seat think of a courtroom where the judge walks in and sits down uh at the at the bench and everybody knows the person that sits in that chair there's only one person allowed in that chair and that is the presiding judge and so nobody else is allowed to sit in this judgment seat. It is reserved entirely for the Roman procreator, the governor, who is now Pontius Pilate. And his wife sent unto him. Her name was Claudia. We know that from historical records.

Some historians think she may have been a Jewish woman or she had a fondness for the Jewish people the Roman the Roman custom was originally was not to allow the governor's wife to have access to this area when he's presiding over trial. But historians record that over time, that custom was changed. And so Claudia has sent a... So, Doc, did she send a message or did she appear? Well, that's the question. We really don't know. I mean, it could be either one. It says his wife sent them to him.

Right. It could be that she was seated next to him. We see examples of that over in the book of Acts, where the spouse or whatever they would call it then was sitting with like Felix. And so it's possible, but we have to fill in the gaps there. She could have sent a note, a scroll. She could have been off stage, behind the curtain. She could have whispered to one of her husband's aides who would have access, be allowed to walk up to him. She could have said,

please relay this message to my husband. Or an aide could have said, please relay this message to my husband. Or an aide could have said, sir, your wife has got to talk to you right now. What's wrong? What's going on? She said it's urgent. Okay, bring her out. You've got to think about it. Think about a courtroom and the judge's spouse wants to talk just before the trial starts.

And you're thinking, the judge is thinking, this better be important. Don't be asking about a loaf of bread on my way home, you know. This better be important. So she sends this message, either herself or through a courier or through a letter, have nothing to do with that, not just that man, but that righteous man. Yes. She declared Jesus to be righteous. and then she said for I have suffered many things today she was troubled that day what troubled her because of a dream I dreamed about that man so during during the night, she had a dream. And when she awakened in the morning, her conscience was greatly grieved and troubled.

She couldn't clear her mind of the dream. My husband is going to sentence to death a righteous man. This dream, you know, I've seen some of the Bible commentators say, we're not sure what was the origin of the dream. Seriously? Always making excuses, always. Making excuses to explain away the supernatural. Right.

It's so easy for me to understand that Almighty God troubled this woman's sleep. It tells me that she was a good woman, Doc. In her heart, she was a good woman. She might have been married to a Roman governor, but she herself, God saw something good in her. She had a tender heart. And she went to her husband and pleaded, do not, do not any harm to that man. He's a righteous man.

I've had a terrible day. You know, she's beside herself. She is troubled. She said, I've suffered many things today. Have you ever had a dream that disturbed your entire day? Oh, yes. You and I both have. Yes.

And you know it's from the Lord. And sometimes you don't have an immediate interpretation of the dream. And you're thinking about it all day long. What did that dream mean? Lord, what are you saying to me? So, Claudia has been disturbed by this dream, and she appeals to her husband before the beginning of the trial. So now, Pilate has a message from the person who is closest to him, his spouse. It's not not an aide it's not a high priest is it it's not a a court jester it's his wife right he can't dismiss it this is coming from his spouse.

Do not harm that man. He's righteous. And so he's, this is just at the beginning of the trial. So you can imagine what Pilate was thinking. What am I, what have I gotten myself into? What am I going to do?

Verse 20. But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas and destroy Jesus. But in spite of

the warning from his wife, in spite of the, which I believe was a divine warning, but still, here's the thing. I believe the Lord prompted the dream, but Jesus still had to be crucified. Yes. You know, maybe we can have this conversation right now i was going to bring it up later in another verse what about pontius pilate i mean doc there there's glimpses of this man that he's not all evil and he's got a bad reputation you don't want to be called conscious pilot he's got a bad reputation he wasn't known in those days as being a church choir boy he was ruthless he he put to death a lot of people.

He didn't have any problems putting people to death for violating Roman law. That's what he was sent there to do. Maintain law and order. Get on his bad side, you're going to die. Or you're going to go into the prison. You're going to go into the prison? Are you going to be tortured? So this guy, he doesn't have a good reputation, and yet he didn't want to crucify Jesus.

And yet he had to. But he had to. How do you explain it you you can't i mean in the apostles creed it says and he suffered under pontius pilate he pontius pilate was a critical element in this whole process here or the crux it'd be easier doc it would be easier for me to understand if I just read and Pontius Pilate, you know, growled at Jesus and said, boy, you're going to die today. I'm going to get rid of you. That'd be easier for me to understand. Okay, the guy is evil.

He just went ahead with it. He had to do it. But that's not the case. He wanted to release Jesus. And he didn't because the Jews demanded Jesus's execution. And he gave in to the Jews. Because he feared them. He feared that they would go to Rome

and lie about him. And yet he knew that Jesus was innocent. You know, there's a lot of stuff you could get into. I mean, it's not biblical. I can't talk really. You know, you can't preach it. You just think about it.

Speculate. When Jesus descended to the place of the dead, or can't talk really you know you can't preach it you just think about it speculate when jesus descended to the place of the dead after he died he his body died he didn't die he descended to the place of the dead how many sinners were converted? Pontius Pilate, did he ever get saved? Did he ever make it right with God? Is there any any church records traditions that Pontius Pilate eventually became a Christian or what about his wife Claudia I don't know I I feel sorry for the old boy, and yet he's a central role in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Well, the Coptic church has him as a saint. Yes. So they have a tradition that he converted to Christianity. Now, he's not a saint within the Roman Catholic hierarchy, but among the Coptic... The Egyptian church says that Pilate became a Christian? Yes. Wow.

I didn't know that, Doc. Yep. I mean, I'm rooting for him. Come on. Come on, Pilate. You made a bad call, but you had to do it okay but you don't have to go to hell for it even say even st. Augustine said he was a saint and so really yeahustine said he was a saint yeah

so uh okay think about the tradition you know it could very well be that he uh became a believer but the historical version has him being killed by caesar at some point in the future um but he may have been killed as a Christian that's true too if he if he did get saved I mean can you imagine what that was like Pontius Pilate asking Jesus Christ who's in heaven please forgive me for turning you over to the Jews and Jesus saying I forgave you then you had to do it Ponty and you know it's it speaks of the, the depth of Jesus' mercy and grace and forgiveness that he would forgive Pontius Pilate. Right. But, you know, we do have some insight into Pilate in the sense that, you know, he made an effort to free Jesus.

He made an effort to free him. I'm just speaking generally here. He made an effort to free Jesus. He made an effort to free him. I'm just speaking generally here. He made an effort to free Jesus. He also expressed guilt at the sentencing of Jesus, washing his hands. And then he allowed Joseph of Arimathea to take the body of Jesus and bury him. He didn't have to do that. That's right. There are things that give us and then questions like

Pilate asked the question, what is truth? He was asking the wrong question. He should have asked, who is truth? But he was asking. At least he was seeking. He was seeking. Right. But he was still a vessel that the Lord used to

cause the suffering of Christ yes boy it's a hard pill to swallow there it is verse 20 but the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitude

that they should ask Barabbas and destroy Jesus. They didn't want to just punish Jesus. They didn't just want to kill him. They wanted to destroy him. I mean, that's at a different level. They hate somebody so bad you want to hurt them. And then they hate somebody so bad you want to torture them. And then they hate somebody so bad you want to imprison them.

And then they hate somebody so bad you want to kill them. And then they hate somebody so bad you want to destroy them. That's at the ultimate level of hate they weren't satisfied with just killing him when you talk about a blood friends frenzy these these Jews were were whipped up by Satan with so much fury and anger and hatred that Pilate couldn't appease them. And so what we see here is the Jewish high priests and elders began to move through the crowd as instigators, agents provocateur. The leaders are going through the crowd saying, demand his execution. Be a good Jew. Obey us. Demand his execution.

The mob was not yet asking for barabbas it was the jewish priests who told them to ask for barabbas right so the mob is like looking at the jewish leaders saying what do you want us to do? If the Jewish leaders had been true followers of Almighty God in the footsteps of Moses, they would have said, Release Jesus. But they're not followers of Moses. They're not righteous men. They're wicked and evil.

And so the mob is looking at the Jewish leaders for a sign. Okay, Pilate just asked, he wants a vote. How do we vote? And for a moment, for a a moment the mob was neutral but the chief priests and the elders persuaded the mob you vote for Barabbas, that's our man. You know, I can imagine hearing them, the leaders, as they're walking, moving through the crowd. I mean, it's a thick crowd, elbow to elbow, you know, shoulder to shoulder. They're going through the crowd, looking in the faces of men and women say Barabbas will fight for us

Barabbas is a hero he's a patriot he'll fight the Romans that guy up there will not fight them look at him look at him he won't even defend himself he you think he's going to defend you he won't even defend himself we need Barabbas they were telling him we need a violent bloody Patriot huh who will lead a revolution against the Romans and people started saying you're right you're right barabbas he's got he's got backbone he's courageous he's not afraid of the romans they all knew that barabbas was a criminal but they liked it they liked it he he was a criminal, but they liked it. They liked it. He was a criminal.

They liked it. He was a real man in their eyes. This is a man that kills. This is a man that is not afraid of the Roman government. But that other guy standing up there, look at him. He's a mouse. He won't even open his mouth to defend himself. And so they got the crowd chanting, we want Barabbas.

The mob would not have gone for Barabbas without the active participation of the Jewish rulers. Yes. Yes. So Barabbas is a murderer, and they chose him over Jesus, who was righteous and just. And Pilate is standing there watching this scene, maybe glancing over at his wife, and his wife's going, no, don't, no.

Don't do it, don't do it. And he's looking back and forth. He's looking at his wife. He's looking at the mob. His wife's saying, no, no, please don't punish that innocent, righteous man. Yes. But Pilate's a politician. He's got a mob.

And he's got to maintain order. That's his three primary duties from Rome maintain law and order preside over criminal trials collect taxes he is now presiding over a criminal trial and at the trial he's got to maintain law and order and he's realizing the only way to maintain law and order is to give that bloodthirsty mob of Jews what they want. Right. Jews cannot say that they were not responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Their ancestors absolutely demanded it.

Yes. And you can't spin it any other way. Verse 21, the governor Pilate answered and said unto them which of the two do you want me to release to you and they said Barabbas

again you have to imagine Pilate his mind he's like this can't be happening, this can't be happening. This just can't be happening. All of us here know that he's a criminal. All of us know that he's a murderer. And this crowd, led by religious leaders, is demanding his release, and they want the death of this innocent, peaceful man.

Even Pilate knew it was wrong. Again, I think he's looking over his wife. His wife's probably got tears in her eyes. She knows which way her husband's going to roll. She can see it. She can see his face. He's wavering. He's vacillating.

He looks weak. And he's got to project an image of strength and authority, and yet he looks weak standing there. And his aides are looking at him. And the soldiers are looking at him. And they're all wondering, what's happened to Pilate? What's happened to his strength? He's turning into a stick of warm butter.

He has no backbone right now. And he knows he has to make a decision. He either releases a robber, a murderer, an insurrectionist, or he releases a peaceful man who hasn't harmed anybody and is not a threat to Rome. But the crowd wants the murderer released. Yes. Verse 22, Pilate said, what shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?

What shall I do with Jesus who is called the anointed one? This is the question every human being must answer. Yes. What shall I do with this Jesus who is called the anointed one this is the question every human must answer what will you do what will you do with this Jesus which is called Christ will you receive him or will you crucify him with your sins yes because we do crucify him with our sins And they all said to him, not 50%, not 51%, not 75%, all, all said to him, let him be crucified. Not one person in that mob

defended Jesus that mob represented represented the Jewish people they called for the crucifixion of the Son of God at the behest of the Jewish leaders. Who goaded them. Demand his crucifixion. So now. Now it's escalated. They've gone from. Just choosing Barabbas. They're now saying,

they're not saying, oh, scourge him, whip him, beat him. Give him a year in prison. That's not what they're saying. They're not just saying execute him. Execute him in the worst way. Yes. Shameful way.

Yes. Meant to shame the offender. You know, you're placed naked on the cross. And it's the most painful way. Yes. It's the most painful way. Because it's a most painful way. It's the most painful way. Because it's a slow death.

It's not a beheading. It's over in seconds. Now this is a slow death. And that's what they want. Make him suffer. Well, he's got to be the suffering servant. He's got to be the suffering Messiah he's got to be the suffering Messiah guess that's what Isaiah said but it was Jesus who told Isaiah to say it and now Jesus has to live out his own prophecies that's a hard one to understand imagine you tell somebody

speak these words and they're speaking words about you you're telling them to speak about you and you're telling them to speak of your death. And then when that time comes, you have to agree to fulfill your own words. And that's what Jesus did. And they recognized him as the anointed one. Yes. Pilate said, what do you want to do with this anointed one? Anointed one they all knew was the Messiah.

Everybody said, anointed one? I've never heard that before. He's the anointed one? Well, the anointed one is the Messiah. Oh, we got to call this off no he said that they knew he was the Messiah Pilate said your own people call him the anointed one I know what that means that's the Messiah you're looking for. What do you want to do with your Messiah? And they said... Go ahead, Doug.

I was just going to say, even though Pilate was sitting in the judgment seat of Jesus, it was the Jewish people who were in judgment on that day. Yes. Because he was allowing them to assume that judicial role. And that was necessary. Yes. You can't say Rome crucified Jesus. Rome acquiesced to the Jews.

Rome allowed the Jews to carry out the sentencing. The Romans carried out the execution at the behest of the Jews. But the Romans didn't choose to execute Jesus. The highest official, the highest Roman official in Jerusalem is trying to stop it. Not one priest, not one rabbi, not one teacher in Judaism

that day said, this is an abomination. Not one disciple. Nobody said anything. you're right down the disciples some of them were standing afar off watching it and no one spoke up and said this is this is horrible stop it see what a what a mob is in motion, it's terrifying. Because they'll turn on you and kill you. Yes.

Like a stampede of cattle. You can't get in front of them and stop it. You'll be trampled to death. So Pilate's question revealed his astonishment at the crowd's choice. He's astonished that they just voted for Barabbas. He's completely astonished that they just voted for Barabbas. He's completely astonished. And so he responds with this question, if you choose Barabbas,

what am I supposed to do with this Jesus who is called the Anointed One? And again, I can imagine the look on Pilate's face. It's pained. He's grieved. He's afraid. He can't believe what's happening he didn't go whoa what do you want me to do with Jesus

I think he looked at him and said what am I supposed to do with this man what are you people proposing what are you proposing what are you saying what What are you saying? What am I supposed to do with this man? And they shouted, let him be crucified. Now Pilate is shocked.

He's gone from amazed and astonished. He's now shocked. He's terrified by these people now because they are rejecting their messiah he told them this is your anointed one and they said kill See, now the parable of the vineyard workers is now happening. Yes. He is the son of the owner. Let us kill him and steal his inheritance. That's right.

Right now, in this moment, the parable of the vineyard workers is now being acted out. They'd already killed all the prophets. The only one left to kill is the son, and now they're doing it. So Pilate's hesitation reflected his recognition of Jesus's innocence and his internal struggle to reconcile justice with political expediency. And he's got to do it standing on a public platform in front of thousands of people, with his wife off to the side to say, don't do it, sweetheart, don't do it. He thinks, I've got to go home tonight, and this is not going to be a happy home tonight. The demand for a brutal, shameful execution speaks of the depth of the rejection of the Jewish people of their messiah this was not just a hey he's not our messiah we don't care what you do with him now their their rejection was we want him destroyed yes we want the messiah destroyed

you can't spin this in a nice way for what they did that day I've heard people say well they didn't know they just didn't understand and no they did know Pilate just called him the Anointed One Pilate declared him innocent Pilate declared him innocent. Verse 23, and the governor said, this is Pilate, why? What evil has he done? But they cried out even more. The modern version says they cried out exceedingly. Let him be crucified.

First time they shout him, crucify him. Now they're screaming it. They're screaming it. Let him be crucified. And Pilate says, what wrong has he done? What crime has he committed? What threat is he to us? Why should I do this to him?

Pilate can't, he's still just stunned by the hatred of the Jews for their Messiah. Pilate sees no valid reason for executing Jesus Christ. He sees no valid reason for even convicting him of what crime. He can't even find a crime. Right. What do you want me to convict him of? He hasn't broken any laws. And over in Luke chapter 23, in the narrative there, it says that Pilate offered to just merely chastise Jesus and let him go. And then they hollered all the more to crucify him so it's not

just a matter of you know even pilate tried to find a compromise there which may have been a sign of weakness but at the same time uh you know the offer was there to just chastise Jesus and let him go and be done with it. No, we want this guy dead. Really dead. So none of it could have happened without the manipulation of the Jewish rulers. Yes. They inflamed the mob. There is no doubt about it. The elite rulers of Judaism inflamed a mob to demand the execution of Jesus Christ. The crowd didn't even know what

to do until they were told what to do. Pilate wanted to release him. The only people there who wanted an execution were the Jewish rulers. Even the mob didn't even know what to say. They had to look to the rulers for advice. It was the religious leaders who wanted him dead so as Sadaki mentioned Luke 23 Pilate had suggested hey let me just scourge him

I'll give him a good whipping, let him go. Is that good enough? No, we want him dead. Not only dead, but we want him on a cross. We want him to have the worst death possible. We want him to suffer. We want him to be... Not even a Jewish death, but a Roman death. A Roman death. So the more

the more Pilate questions the validity of their demands, the more the crowd shouted louder for crucifixion. Pilate can't even reason with these people because this bloodlust was loose in them. And of course, the one who was orchestrating it the most was satan himself speaking through the religious leaders to whip up the fury of the people satan had no idea what was about all he could all satan was thinking was hot dog i've got i know who he is that's Jesus I knew him when I used to

live in heaven I know who that is okay I've got him we're going to get a conviction we're going to kill him and I can go back to being the ruler of this world and I have no competition Satan had no idea did not understand the resurrection had no idea couldn't know that one escaped him even though jesus said openly i'm gonna die and be resurrected even satan couldn't understand it his disciples didn't understand it and satan couldn't understand it. His disciples didn't understand it, and Satan couldn't do it either. So there's no evidence. The whole trial is a travesty of justice. There's no evidence.

There are no charges from Rome against him. And Pilate standing there saying, this is the worst day of my life. This couldn't get any worse. I have an innocent man. He's not broken one law.

And a mob wants me to kill him. Verse 24, when Pilate saw he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person see to it modern version says so when Pilate saw that nothing was being gained but rather that a disturbance was starting he took water washed his hands before the multitude saying i'm i'm innocent of the blood of that righteous man you see to it you religious leaders you see to it i'm not responsible you're about to do something very bad and i am not part of this even though he about to do something very bad. And I am not part of this.

Even though he had to do it. Yes. So at this point, I don't feel logically. How do you explain it? Pilate has now opted out and said, I am not condoning the killing of this innocent man. But I'm going to do it to please you. I don't want it. Rome doesn't want it.

You want it. The Jews want it. The only reason this is being done is because the Jews want it. Look at me. I'm washing my hands. His blood's not on my hands. You see to it. The only reason this is being done is because the Jews want it. Look at me. I'm washing my hands. His blood's not on my hands. You see to it. You make sure it's

recorded. I had nothing to do with this. This is all done for you. And yet he gave in and carried out the murder that they demanded. But he said he saw that a disturbance was starting. He realized, I don't have enough troops here right now to keep this mob under control. We don't have enough troops standing here right now that if this mob

came up on this platform, they could get me and Jesus and my wife. This is getting out of control. They might crucify all of us. These people are crazy.

And that's what he's looking at right he's probably looking at his chief Roman officer who's who's like giving him I signals hey boss I don't have enough troops here it'd be 15 minutes till I get enough troops here. We've got a problem. And now he's starting to, I think he's starting to think of his own hide. This is a mob that could come up on this platform and get me. They could take all of us. We don't have enough Romans here right now to stop his mob and again he's thinking about his career back in Rome what Cesar gonna say

how's that gonna look on my resume how's this to affect my career advancement? So he says, all right, you get what you want, but I have nothing to do with it. He's absolving his guilt. And it's actually a Jewish custom. It goes back to Deuteronomy 21 verse 6. Pilate knew. You wash your hands of innocent blood. I'm going to do it right now in front of you. So that means he knew Jewish customs and law.

Yeah. Pull up Deuteronomy 21 6 okay I had thought about that before Deuteronomy 21 6 yes okay all right Deuteronomy 21.6 And it says, And all the elders of that city nearest to the slain man shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley. Then they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood,

nor have our eyes seen it. And then verse 8, Provide atonement, O Lord, for your people Israel. Pilate either knew that verse or the Holy Spirit just inspired him to say those words. But the Jews knew what he said.

They knew what he said they knew what he did they knew what he said they knew why he said it he just quoted deuteronomy 21 6 and and the red heifer represents christ yes wow now that's enlightening there, Rick. I had never thought about that before. So once again, Pilate is, he's acting more, he's acting more biblical at the right time. And yet the gesture symbolizes his innocence, but it can't erase his responsibility as the judge who was obligated to uphold justice. See, that is the, you know,

this is the paradox here. His job was to uphold justice. His job was to say, I don't care what you people want. That man is innocent. He hasn't broken the law. He's not a threat to Rome. And I'm going to put you people want that man is innocent he hasn't broken the law he's not a threat to rome and you i'm going to put you people under arrest that's what he was supposed to do as a roman governor

but he didn't because he was afraid of them right Right. At that moment, that's where he made, well, in the natural realm, that's where he made his mistake. We know spiritually he had to go through with it. So he distanced himself from their actions. He said, I'm going to give you what you want, but it's on record. I'm against it. He calls Jesus a just man. He's called him the anointed one.

He's called him a just man. He's called him righteous. Pilate repeatedly declares, now this official court trial, the governor, the judge, the one sitting in the judgment seat, the official presiding over this trial, repeatedly declared Jesus to be righteous, just, and the anointed one. That's the official ruling of the judge. So officially, the governor, the presiding judge, declared Jesus to be just, innocent, righteous, anointed. That's the ruling from the governor.

That went into the record books. But the Jews demanded the execution of a man who was just and righteous and peaceful and anointed. So God used Pilate to officially declare the innocence of his son. It's like, hey, God is so perfect, so exact in everything that he does. He even got an official ruling from a Roman governor. Hey, go ahead and say multiple times my son is innocent. I want that in the records. See to it. Get that in the records.

Okay. You say it multiple times. There's no doubt. There's no doubt the Roman government declared Jesus to be innocent. Right. Doc, in that sense, officially the Roman government declared Jesus to be innocent and to be the Son of God.

Because Pilate the speaking for the Roman government right and I think the only charge they could lay to him was you know starting a riot uh because they did scourge Jesus so there was some charge that they laid to him for the scourging because again it was I think if if there was any charge is what i'm saying but i don't think there was any charge i think i think i think here's what you have is god used pilot to declare the total innocence of his son yes this is an innocent man a just man. He has not sinned. He's sinless. The Roman governor can't find a sin, can't find a single thing this man has done wrong. And yet you Jews want him dead. Not just dead, but really dead. So the entire blame for this crucifixion of Jesus Christ is on the hands, not just, it's not the Jewish mob, it's the Jewish religious leaders.

Yes. Verse 25, Then answered all the people and said, His blood be on us and on our children. They spoke a curse on themselves. And let me tell you, my friends,

they're still under that curse today. Individual Jews can get out of that curse. They can get away. They can get relief from that curse by confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, by becoming a Christian, not a Messianic Jew, a Christian. Yes. A disciple of Christ. If a Jew does not repent

and become a Christian, this curse is still upon them. And the Jewish people will, to this day, talk about, everywhere we go, we're hated. We're persecuted we're chased out of countries oh it's because of non-jews or bigots no you're under a curse

and somebody needs to have the courage to tell you you're under a curse and you can get out of it. You don't have to live under the curse. But if you continue to hate Jesus Christ. And oppose his holy church. Then you're going to get this curse. Yes. There's hardly anybody in the church today.

Willing to say it. May his blood be on us and on our children. And 2,000 years later, the curse is still in effect. The first wave of it came in 70 AD, when I believe Jesus Christ himself led the Roman army to Jerusalem to destroy Jerusalem and the temple. I believe Jesus Christ supervised that entire siege of Jerusalem. Well, that's something the Christian Zionists won't teach. No way, Jose. Well, why would he do that?

Because you killed him on a cross? You crucified him? You rejected him? You think maybe that could be the reason? Yeah, that was the reason. Almighty God said, you're going to pay for what you did to my son. You're going to pay. And whom did he send? The Romans. The same Romans who the Jews used to crucify his son. Now God used the same Roman army to destroy Jerusalem in the temple. Their entire system collapsed.

And you will not convince me that in 1948 it came back that thing over there in Palestine called Israel is an imposter it's Satan's imitation but but while Jesus's blood was was meant for salvation the Jewish rejection transformed it into a source of judgment upon themselves and their descendants yes see the blood will either save you or curse you. You've got to pick what you're going to do with the blood. What are you going to do with this Jesus called the Anointed One? What are you going to do with his blood? His blood will save you or his blood will curse you if you refuse to accept him as the Messiah his blood will curse you

so the plea for responsibility where they're taking possession of, they're taking ownership of the crucifixion. Yes. Contrast that with Peter's call to the Jews for their repentance. He said in the very beginning of the book of Acts, you men who crucified the Lord, that sermon was just days after the resurrection. He said, you men, some of you were right there in the mob.

You crucified him. Yet he's here to forgive you. Praise God. and yet he's here to forgive you praise god and praise god doc they were jews who repented and if we didn't have those jews who repented the church never would have started in jerusalem right so we can't see it as it's all bad no good came out of it many jews repented many jews said what in the world did we do we killed the messiah we waited our ancestors we waited thousands of years for the messiah and he came and we killed him thank God there were Jews

who came to that realization and the church was born in Jerusalem where are we at here in time verse 26 then released he Barabbas unto them where are we at here in time? Verse 26, Then released he Barabbas unto them, and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

This is the point where Pilate just gave in and gave up. And now he's part of the drama. Right. Any thoughts, Doc, before we go to communion? No, I think it's appropriate that we do communion now and reflect upon Jesus being turned over for crucifixion for us and for our sins. You made a great statement there, Rick. What are you going to do with the blood?

Yeah. What are you going to do with the blood? It will save you or curse you. Right. what are you going to do with the blood? Yeah. What are you going to do with the blood? And that's the question. It will save you or curse you. Right. Gentiles. Yes. What are you going to do with the blood?

Jesus said, if you do not eat this flesh and drink this blood, there is no life in you. Right. He gave his life, he gave his blood that we may live.

And he said, whoever eats his flesh and drinks his blood, he said, I will raise you on the last day. Yes. That's a promise.

You partake of this meal, the flesh and the blood of Jesus. Jesus Christ himself has guaranteed your body will come out of the grave on the final day. It's a guarantee. Go ahead, Doc. day it's a guarantee go ahead dog no I was just going to say that as we enter communion here let's just take a moment to compare the blood to our own lives and ask the Lord to cleanse us with that blood and if you don't mind praying for us Rick right now before we enter the Lord's Supper, that we enter into this with clean hearts, clean hands, clean minds. Would you pray for us? Yes.

Dear gracious Father, we come to you in the of what your son did for us that you even in our in humanity's sinful state you looked upon the human race with love and pity and you did not leave us in our fallen state but you considered us a treasure and you sent your son to earth to become a human embryo in the white in the womb of a sinner and that he he was born sinless lived sinless died for us that we may have eternal life so father I ask in the name of Jesus the Holy Spirit search our hearts and minds reveal to us everything in us that is wrong and not pleasing to you

Father bring us to repentance we ask you to forgive us cleanse us wash us with the blood of Jesus Christ we thank you for this divine meal the meal that heals the meal meal. The meal that heals. The meal that saves. The meal that delivers.

The flesh and the blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that Christ is now present with us in this meal. Because he said where two or more are gathered, there am I in the midst of them. We believe that he is here and he is serving himself to us right now. So we praise you and thank you, Father, in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Praise the Lord.

After supper, Jesus took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, Drink this, all of you, for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this in remembrance of me.

Praise the Lord. The blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is shed for you, preserve your body and soul to everlasting life. Drink the cup of salvation in remembrance that Christ's blood was shed for you, and be thankful. Behold the Lamb of God. Behold him who takes away the sins of the world, and blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. This sacrament is the gift of God for the people of God.
