The warning comes on the heels of reports that Ukraine is preparing to invade new sections of Russia.

I'm Rick Wiles. This is True News for Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Let's begin our analysis and commentary of today's world headlines by diving into this article published hours ago by Hong Kong's South China Morning Post. Russia warns U.S. of World War III risk. Says the West is playing with fire. And the South China Morning Post said Russia said the West was playing with fire by considering allowing Ukraine to strike deep into Russia with Western missiles. And cautioned the United States on Tuesday that World War III would not be confined to Europe. Sergei Lavrov, who has served as Putin's foreign minister for more than 20 years, said that the West was seeking to escalate the Ukraine war and was asking for trouble by considering Ukrainian requests to loosen curbs on using foreign-supplied weapons. Lavrov told reporters in Moscow,

We are now confirming once again that playing with fire, and they are like small children playing with matches. It is a very dangerous thing for grown-up uncles and aunts to do who are entrusted with nuclear weapons in one or another Western country. Americans unequivocally associate conversations about a third world war as something that, God forbid, if it happens, will affect Europe exclusively. Doc, there's only one way to interpret that warning. The nukes are coming. To the USA. Right.

Lavrov is saying, Americans, when they think about World War III, and— It's over there. It's over there. It's over there. It's not here. Right. And what Lavrov is saying is, you're fools. You're fools. You're playing with fire.

You're going to get burned. He didn't say Europe is not going to be burned. Right. But it's not going to be confined to Europe. He said we're not going to confine the fire to Europe. It's coming to to be confined. He said, we're not going to confine the fire to Europe. It's coming to the American homeland. So there's a lot of other things happening here, World War III. But, Doc, this is a very stark warning. today that Ukraine is either preparing to push into new territory

in Russia or they have already begun the offensive into Russian territory. There are reports the Ukraine Council will convene tomorrow, and I'm getting this from Sky News in Europe.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will convene the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council. Yes, a NATO spokesperson said the meeting will be held at an ambassadorial level. Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustam Umiov is expected to appear via video link. So, Doc, that means this is the highest level meeting that could be held in NATO. Right. At the ambassadorial level. And basically, I can imagine what the conversation is going to be.

Ukraine is going to ask, can we go further? Yes. Can we go further than this? And that's why Lavrov just said today, you're playing with fire. Right. Now, the ambassador from Ukraine said he'll brief the Council on the battlefield situation and priority capability needs, according to the spokesperson. This meeting comes after two consecutive nights of heavy Russian strikes in Ukraine, which across both evenings killed 13 people. But, Rick, what did Vladimir Zelensky have to say about this today?

Well, he proposed his peace plan, or he announced that he's – he didn't reveal it. But what he did is that he revealed that he's presenting a peace plan to the United States and to NATO. Shouldn't he be presenting that to Russia? That's who he's at war with. That's who he's fighting, yes. But obviously, he's got to get his daddy's backing on this plan. So this also from Sky News said that Zelensky made the remarks at a conference in kiev today marking ukraine's independence day which was saturday right and i think was a saturday that they got

hit yes it was really hard by russia and um that uh he announced uh he announced today that ukraine has successfully uh tested its first domestic-made ballistic missile. That means they have made a missile that will reach Moscow. So they don't need the West's permission to shoot that, do they? No. It also says Ukraine has the capacity to produce up to 2 million drones per year, but lacks the funding to do it. Okay, that's the next thing that's on the agenda. We need money. We can make 2 million drones per year. We just need some more American, European money.

He said he's going to present a plan to the United States on how he intends to end the war with Russia. The plan will include diplomatic and economic steps separate from the current invasion of Russia. The proposal will be presented to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. That's interesting. One of those three will have something to do with it. Zelensky says he continues to ask allies for more flexibility that will allow Ukraine to use long range Western weapons inside Russian territory. That means Moscow.

He said, quote, they, meaning the U.S. and NATO, they don't want to talk about it, and I keep bringing it up. The Olympics are over, but ping pong is still there. Better watch his mouth, hadn't he? They could take him out. So this is where the escalation really, now, we're going to start seeing it crank up. So, Doc, testing their own ballistic missile? He's saying to NATO, we're capable of doing this on our own.

And if we can find a nuke warhead, we'll blow up Moscow. Vladimir Putin seized $100 million from Google to fund Russia's war machine. So this is in retaliation for the West seizing what was it?

$300 billion? Billion. This is million, $300 billion? Yes. Billion. This is million. $100 million from Google. But from just one company, from Google itself. So it's retaliation for the West seizing $300 billion from Russia. So now Putin grabbed $100 million from Google.

I don't even know if that hurts Google, $100 million. But it does kind of wipe out all the funds that were there because they declared bankruptcy back in 2022. So this was money in Russian banks? Right. Okay, so Russia took it. So Russian authorities have seized more than $100 million from Google. This is what the Telegraph is saying, to fund propaganda supporting Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine. U.S. filings have revealed that bailiffs took the funds from the tech giant's Russian bank accounts in 2022, tipping its unit in the country into bankruptcy. According to the documents, bankruptcy managers handed the funds to Russian TV channels, including state-owned RT and Zagrad, a propaganda service that pledged

to use the funds to support the Kremlin's war in Ukraine. Google's Russian entity declared bankruptcy in 2022, saying the Kremlin had seized funds. But up until now, it was unclear how much had actually been taken. So turnabout's fair play for the Russians. And so they've moved on this. And they'll probably move on other funds that are secured in Russian banks as well. This is going to continue. Each side is going to grab money and assets from the other side.

It's not a safe time to be a business owner in a foreign country. You could be arrested. Your assets could be seized. It's just not... You know what's happening, Doc? Everybody's going to go back to home base. Right. Yes. Like Medvedev said,

you better know where your father lands at. Whether you get along with father or not, it's better to be in your father's house, even if you don you get along with father or not it's better to be in your father's house even if you don't get along with dad than to go someplace else that's a pretty good analogy there that's really what nevada said and that's what he told uh dara from uh telegram you know sent that message to him via the media saying you know you you know, you made a bad mistake. You left your fatherland.

You left Russia because you didn't get along with us, meaning the government. So now the French government has you in a jail. And what are you going to do about it? But what I'm saying is that we're in this very dangerous time that you don't know. If you're a business owner, an investor, if you're building businesses in another country, if you're buying real estate, you don't know if it's safe anymore. Right.

Because you could be caught up in a fight between your government back home and the government of the country that you're in. And seize all your investments, seize all government of the country that you're in. And seize all your investments, seize all your property, everything that you've done. It's gone in an instant. What happened to McDonald's? Hundreds and hundreds, what is it, 800 McDonald's franchises in Russia. They're gone. The buildings are still there there they're still selling hamburgers but it's not mcdonald's right the company was all the assets were seized and sold to a russian corporation so that's the that's the new playing field that we're on washington post has a story today about China hacking U.S. Internet service providers.

And it's a pretty serious story, Doc. Washington Post said Chinese government-backed hackers have penetrated deep into U.S. Internet service providers in recent months to spy on their users, according to people familiar with the ongoing American response and private security researchers. The Post article goes on to say that the unusually aggressive and sophisticated attacks include access to at least two major providers with millions of customers, as well as to several smaller providers. People familiar with the separate campaign said. It said it's a business as usual now for China, but that has dramatically stepped up from

where it used to be. It's an order of magnitude worse. That's coming from Brandon Wales, who until earlier this month was executive director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, also known as CISA. The hacks raise concern because their targets are believed to include government and military personnel working undercover and groups of strategic interest to China. Though there is no evidence that the new inroads are aimed at anything other than gathering intelligence, some of the techniques

and resources employed are associated with those used in the past year by a China-backed group known as Volt Typhoon, two of the people said. U.S. intelligence officials said that group sought access to equipment at Pacific ports and other infrastructure to enable China to so panic and disrupt America's ability to move troops and weaponry. Doc, this group, Vault Typhoon, I've been reading about it a lot in the past six months. This is a very sophisticated, aggressive Chinese hacking group, obviously run by the PLA. This isn't something like some anonymous group of hackers. This is a very sophisticated, trained organization of hackers, and there's no doubt that it's a unit of the POA.

And they are hacking into American infrastructure, utility plants, dams. Public utilities. Public utilities. It's happening all over the United States. This is one of the most serious cyber threats I think exists right now anywhere in the United States. Rick, do you think the problem is actually worse than it's telling here? Much worse. Much worse.
