Former President Donald Trump is demanding the resignation of Vice President Kamala Harris after the FBI confirmed reports that Iran hacked his campaign and offered stolen documents to President Joe Biden's campaign advisors. I'm Rick Wiles. This is True News for Thursday, September 19, 2024. Let's begin our analysis and commentary of today's top headlines with this report published by thehill.com. Iran attempted to pass hacked Trump campaign info to the Biden campaign.
Starting point is 00:01:52 And this is what The Hill reported on this story. So the FBI and other intelligence agencies revealed late on Wednesday that Iran attempted to share information stolen during the hack on the Trump campaign, if you recall that here a few weeks ago, with the Biden campaign continues to send material to various media outlets. Now, the Hill is saying here that Iranian malicious cyber actors in late June and early July sent unsolicited emails to individuals then associated with President Biden's campaign that contained an excerpt taken from stolen non-public material from President Trump's campaign as text in the emails. The agency wrote in a joint statement along with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and also
Starting point is 00:02:38 the Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency. There's currently no information indicating that those recipients replied. Now, the Harris campaign condemned the sharing of Trump campaign data, but said what appeared to be phishing emails sent by Iran to staff's personal emails were ignored. It went on to say, we have cooperated with the appropriate law enforcement authorities since we were made aware that individuals associated with the then Biden campaign were among the intended victims of this foreign influence operation. We're not aware of any material being sent directly to the campaign. A few individuals were targeted on their personal emails with what looked like a spam or phishing attempt. We condemn in the strongest terms any effort by foreign actors to interfere in U.S. elections,
Starting point is 00:03:26 including this unwelcome and unacceptable malicious activity. Now, despite assurances from the intelligence community that no one from the Biden-Harris team responded to the emails, the Trump campaign raised the specter of that, that their arrivals may have used that information. This is further proof the Iranians are actively interfering in the election to help Kamala Harris and Joe Biden because they know President Trump will restore his tough sanctions and stand against the Iranian reign of terror. Kamala and Biden must come clean on whether they use the hacked material given to them by the Iranians to hurt President Trump. What did they know and when did they know it?
Starting point is 00:04:05 Trump campaign spokeswoman Carolyn Leavitt said in a statement in response to this information being reported. Well, Doc, I've got a lot of questions about this story. First of all, who in the Biden campaign received the phishing emails? Right. Let's get a list of the names, their rank, their title, how close to Joe Biden. I think that's fair. There's the first thing. The Biden, you know, the former Biden campaign, I mean, I guess it's still officially there.
Starting point is 00:04:38 I don't think he completely disbanded legally. So the Biden campaign organization needs to publicly state who in the campaign received the email solicitation from the Iranian hackers. Let's see all the names and their positions. Number two, did President Biden know about it? Was he informed? Did it reach Joe Biden? Not that he received the email, but was he informed by people in his campaign? We've got Iranian hackers contacting us.
Starting point is 00:05:19 They've got stuff that they stole from Donald Trump's campaign. Would you like us to receive it? Was he told? I mean, go back to Richard Nixon. Let's go back to Richard Nixon. Nixon resigned over covering up that his campaign officials attempted to steal material from the DNC headquarters by breaking in. That's back in the days when you had to physically break in someplace.
Starting point is 00:05:48 You didn't have cyber hackers. You didn't have the Internet. Right. At least the public didn't have it. So, yes. Nixon never authorized it. It was never in the process. But when it was revealed, he tried to cover it up.
Starting point is 00:05:59 He tried to cover it up. So, let's find out, did Joe Biden know about it? Number three, did anybody in the Biden campaign or the Biden White House notify the Director of National Intelligence, the FBI, the CIA? Or did they sit on the information until the intelligence agencies contacted them? That's question number four. Who spoke about it first? Did intelligence agencies go to Joe Biden and say, are you aware that Iran has been attempting to reach you? Or did Mr. Biden or his people go to them? Whose responsibility was it to speak first?
Starting point is 00:06:53 It was Joe Biden's responsibility. Now, whoever was aware of the attempts by Iran. Now, to be fair, if we flip the script on this, imagine if Iran had hacked the the biden harris campaign and tried to give information to the trump campaign what would be the outcry then rick uh the attorney general would appoint a special prosecutor a robert moeller type of guy to investigate the trump campaign iranian collusion yes and there would be talk of federal criminal charges against donald trump that's what would be happening yes so donald trump has every right
Starting point is 00:07:34 to demand answers and uh and and to demand uh the kamala harris withdrawal from the race if she was aware of it. That's another question. Was Kamala Harris aware of the phishing attempts? Did anybody, did the Iranians contact her, her office, her campaign, in addition to the Biden campaign? Did the Biden campaign people wink and nod to Kamala Harris' campaign officials and said, hey, we're not going to touch this, but you might want to take a look at it. Right. I mean, it'd be the same, like we said, we flipped the script.
Starting point is 00:08:11 If Donald Trump was aware of Iranians trying to give him information, we would be asking that question. What was the famous question by Tennessee Republican Senator Howard Baker during the Watergate hearings. What did President Nixon know and when did he know it? Right. That question ended Nixon's career. Yeah, it did. That question from a Republican ended Nixon's career.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Because to answer it would have implicated Richard Nixon. So if we use that same question, when did Biden or Harris know? What did Joe Biden and Kamala Harris know about the Iranian hacking? And when did they know it? What did they know and when did they know? I mean, they would demand that answer from Donald Trump. No, they would appoint a federal prosecutor. He would be, there would be federal agents raiding his office, his campaign.
Starting point is 00:09:16 They would be locking down, seizing computers. That's right. It's very serious. But it shows, you want to talk about about you know the fbi director and others talk about foreign interference in the campaigns right well here's foreign interference where's the fbi are they conducting a serious federal investigation of the Biden campaign officials. Can they tell us anything about the Harris campaign? How far did this go? Was anybody in her campaign, was the vice president herself aware of it? I don't think we'll get any answers. I'm not going to hold my breath for it,
Starting point is 00:09:59 Doc. So Newsweek, Trump asked if Kamala Harris will resign in disgrace over Iran spying. Donald Trump has asked if Vice President Kamala Harris will resign in disgrace from politics over claims that Iranian hackers send information about his presidential campaign to President Joe Biden's team. The former president made the remarks after the FBI said malicious cyber actors sent unsolicited emails to individuals with Biden's campaign in late June and early July, which included non-public information from Trump's campaign. Officials said that there was no indication that anyone from Biden's team responded to the emails from the hackers. To me, that's not enough of an answer there.
Starting point is 00:10:54 No. And I saw one national news media outlet and they said Trump's points are irrelevant because this had to do with Joe Biden. He's not a candidate anymore. Well, Vice President Harris was. And when did these emails come in? June and July.
Starting point is 00:11:16 So that's at least when the reports came out. I don't know when the actual emails came out. And when did Biden drop out? About the same time. That's right so well uh donald trump took the truth here and uh had uh this to uh say here uh and well this is truth and on twitter as well breaking comrade kamala harris getting illegal campaign help from iran according to the fbi so he had that to respond to. And then also this on social.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Wow, just out. The FBI caught Iran spying on my campaign and giving all the information to the Kamala Harris campaign. Therefore, she and her campaign were illegally spying on me. To be known as the Iran, Iran, Iran case, will Kamala resign in disgrace from politics? Will the communist left pick a new candidate to replace her? No. They're not going to because they've got their communist candidate now.
Starting point is 00:12:15 He's calling her a communist now. And he's openly calling her a communist. He's saying, I'm running against the nominee of the communist party. That's where we're at now, Doc. We have the Republican nominee, the former President of the United States, saying, I'm running against the nominee of the Communist Party.
Starting point is 00:12:36 I own a happier note. I just want to put this in here because we'll get some more ominous news regarding the the election but uh i saw this video i'm sure a lot of you saw it uh the little boy uh i don't know what eight nine years old uh with uh with a brain cancer and uh his hero is donald. And so this first video shows you the reaction of this little boy
Starting point is 00:13:07 when he received a letter from President Trump. Let's watch it. But Liam LeCastro is here and he is a great young man. He's gone through a lot. But he's going to be better soon. Right, Liam?
Starting point is 00:13:24 And I got him the most beautiful present. He's a great boy, great parents, beautiful sister. Can you read it? Hello? Hello? Sure. It says, Dear Liam, Happy 8th birthday.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Mrs. Trump and I hope you enjoy this special occasion surrounded by the love of your family and friends. We are so encouraged by the strength and determination you have shown throughout your young life and send our love and best wishes to you as you continue to fight. Remember you are never alone and we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for continued care and good health. May God bless you and your family. Stay strong, sincerely. Can you tell me who signed that? Donald Trump. You knew it was your birthday coming up?
Starting point is 00:14:37 What are you saying to him? Thank you. I love you. What else do you want to say? Thank you. You know, Doc, there's a lot of things in that video. First of all, it says a lot about Donald Trump, that he would take the time to send a birthday greeting to a little boy. But it also says something to all of us.
Starting point is 00:15:05 The impact of something so small. What seems to an adult to be so insignificant is just sending a note to a child. It could be to anybody. Just to take time. Just take time out of your schedule to think about somebody else and to send them something encouraging. It can be just a handwritten note. That's a lesson to all of us. And so then President Trump followed up by personally delivering a birthday cake to Liam.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Let's watch this video. How beautiful, Liam. I'm supposed to be on that stage, but that doesn't matter. Because I got you the best present you'll ever have. This is the best present you'll ever have. How are you? Hi, Mom. Okay, this is yours. And in there is real good stuff. Okay? Take care of yourselves. Okay, I'm going to go right after you. Thank you. Take care of yourself. Are you okay? You know, there's a side of Donald Trump we don't often see. And, Doc, after the first assassination attempt, I remember reading an article, and I don't recall the source, but the Trump sons, Don Jr. and Eric, were talking to a reporter about their father. And there were things in that article that I never had heard, didn't know, and really impressed me.
Starting point is 00:16:46 That how things like while he's on the campaign trial, you know, in court, you know, look at all the court trials he's been in. Look at the pressure that he's been in. Right. That he would call a grandchild and commend the child for the grades that they got on a test or on a report card. Or a golf game. Or a golf game, yes. That he was aware, and he would take time to make a call to a grandchild. The guy's under tremendous pressure,
Starting point is 00:17:13 and yet he still finds time to call people whom he loves and to say something that's encouraging. It says a lot, and it says something to all of us. If you listen to the mainstream press, that's encouraging. It says a lot and it says something to all of us. If you listen to the mainstream press, Donald Trump is ruling on a throne in hell right now. All he's doing is thinking about
Starting point is 00:17:34 how he can harm people. Well, it's the propaganda that is being pumped out to the American people and to the world every day. Now, we get back to what's going on in the campaign and in this country. So there's a story about the rally that took place in Tucson, Arizona. Last week, yes.
Starting point is 00:17:57 Okay, this was last week. So here's NBC News 12. Several Trump supporters seated on stage during Tucson rally experience eye injuries. I started tracking this story a couple days ago, but there was not any solid media reports that came out until late yesterday. And so this is NBC 12 in Tucson doing an interview with one of the people that was impacted by some kind of eye injury as they were seated on the platform behind Donald Trump at the most recent rally in Tucson. We have this report from NBC News 12 in Tucson, Arizona. We begin tonight with a medical mystery following a Trump rally in Tucson last week. Nearly a dozen people now
Starting point is 00:18:45 say that they suffered eye emergencies after standing on the stage with the former president. Good evening and thanks so much for joining us for 12 News at 10. I'm Kariba Devine. I'm Mark Curtis. After the rally wrapped up, some of the people say the pain was so intense they actually had to go to the ER. 12 News journalist Jonathan McCall talked with a woman who's now asking for answers about what happened. He joins us in studio with the story. Jonathan. Hey, Mark Caribe.
Starting point is 00:19:10 Everyone trying to figure out exactly what happened during that rally last Thursday. Maya Rodriguez says the pain started after leaving that rally and quickly intensified at one last week. She comes out. We were all pumped up. A perfect view. It was all the Latinos on that side of stage. Quickly becoming blurry. I told my husband, please take me to emergency room because
Starting point is 00:19:31 something's wrong. After leaving the rally, she says she began experiencing eye pain. Initially thinking it was allergies, she says when she couldn't open her eyes, she knew it was something else and she quickly learned she wasn't alone. Are you okay? Because other people were with you at the rally, went to the hospital. Her eyes not deceiving her when she learned at least five other people in that same section also dealing with eye emergencies. Friday, I thought I was going to be blind. A doctor telling her she wasn't blinded by the light. It was not the lights, the stage lights could not cause this. Rodriguez says only supporters on one side of that stage
Starting point is 00:20:11 were injured. She says the damage impacting her cornea, leaving her sensitive to light. In fact, she wore these glasses during our interview, but she says she will recover. Today was the very first day that I could actually see straight with both eyes. Rodriguez says she's been in touch with the Trump campaign about what happened. In a statement to 12 News, the campaign says in part, quote, it's collecting information. Rodriguez says she didn't notice any questionable smells or anything in the air, but she's hoping to shine a bright light to look into what happened. Of course I would like to, but it will be nearly impossible, I think, at this point, so many days after the event. Still so many unanswered questions about how that happened.
Starting point is 00:20:55 Today, 12 News reaching out to the Tucson Convention Center, which operates the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, where the rally was held for comments about these claims. Was there any chemicals released at the time? Anything happening? So far, we have yet to hear back. First thought that came to my mind is a laser attack. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:18 Somebody in that arena had a laser and was aiming it in the eyes. That's why certain people on one side. You would have to look at the seating at, say, the back of the hall, and I think you'll see somebody had a laser. It couldn't be a spray. Because it would be both sides, you would think. And how would somebody release a spray? would be both sides you would take and how would how would somebody release a spray uh no that's a laser attack somebody considered the laser no that's
Starting point is 00:21:51 a laser attack they were they were burning their cornea out of their eyes and they were aiming at one and the reason it was one particular section of the audience because it's it's diagonally across from wherever this person was sitting right they were one particular section of the audience is because it's diagonally across from wherever this person was sitting. Right. They were targeting one side of the audience. Now, you tell me the police haven't thought about this? They haven't looked at surveillance video, who was sitting there? Enough to send 12 people to the emergency room.
Starting point is 00:22:24 And that means it didn't happen for just a second. There was a repeated occurrence of a laser. What else would do it? One report I read, the woman said, the doctor said, this has the appearance that you were exposed to some type of spray that irritated your eyes. Again, you couldn't get a – nobody could get up there and spray the people sitting there. Without impacting other people on the platform, too. That's right. So it's a laser.
Starting point is 00:23:03 I'm willing to go on the line and say that was a laser attack. Where we're at now is that they can't kill President Trump, so they're going to try to kill or injure his supporters. It's going to be very dangerous, folks. Listen, in the coming days, it's going to be very dangerous to attend a Trump rally. And that's exactly what they want. They want you to have fear of attending a public rally. They want you to stay home. What would happen if a bomb exploded in the center of a Trump rally?
Starting point is 00:23:39 Well, we had a situation yesterday. And Lee in control, I want to jump down first to number 10. I've got this somewhat out of order. This is a tweet that was published by James Lalino, who is an independent journalist. I don't know anything about it. He said, sources in Nassau County, this is Nassau County, New York, sources in Nassau County Police Department
Starting point is 00:24:11 just told me that the perimeter was breached and a blue barrel was removed from the area surrounding tonight's Trump rally site. This was yesterday. Yesterday morning. So Doc read the Daily Mail report on this, and this was the first morning so doc uh read the daily mail report on this and this was the first we knew about it right uh mr lalino went on to say sources said during uh during canine doing their while doing their checks they found an explosive device in
Starting point is 00:24:41 one of the vehicles and that driver ended up running into the woods. No one saw if he had anything on him. They just saw him take off running. A lot of cars are now parking. They're lining up on the Hempstead turnpike, just parking on the grass, even over at Eisenhower Park. They're just parking over there. Now, where did that story go so this man is saying that sources inside the nassau county police department gave him this information right so then we have this newsweek article that came out yesterday suspicious occurrence near donald trump new york rally what we know this is yesterday afternoon new york time i mean excuse me newsweek magazine so they said nassau county police responded to a suspicious occurrence near the location of former president
Starting point is 00:25:38 donald trump's wednesday night rally in long island noting that no explosives were located the department confirmed to Newsweek. Okay, so Newsweek is saying somebody in the Nassau County Police Department said, yes, we responded to a suspicious occurrence. Right. But that same source that talked to Newsweek said that there were no explosives found. We did respond to a suspicious occurrence in the vicinity of the Nassau Coliseum. However, there was no validity of an explosive device being found. That's coming from a public information officer speaking to Newsweek.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Okay, so what was the suspicious occurrence? Right. What was it? Then Associated Press came out with the full denial. False reports of explosives found in car near a Trump rally spread online. Didn't take long. Right. For the AP to bring out their debunker machine, and they debunked it.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Okay? So it went from suspicious occurrence to debunked. And we still don't know what happened. Right. Did somebody run into the woods? Remember the report? Was there a blue barrel? Right.
Starting point is 00:26:59 And remember the report yesterday that came out, you know, before we came on the Godcast saying, well, there was somebody out there training a bomb sniffing dog. Right. And what Mr. Lolino said was that during canine patrols, which to me sounds like the police had bombiffing dogs out there. Okay, so now we're going to tell you the official report by the debunkers. So law enforcement officials on Long Island worked quickly on Wednesday to publicly knock down social media posts falsely reporting that explosives had been found in a car near former President Donald Trump's rally. The false reports of an explosive began circling hours before the nominee's campaign event at Nassau Coliseum. Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Reiter said police, Now listen to this.
Starting point is 00:27:59 Police questioned and detained a person who may have been training a bomb detection dog near the site of the rally and falsely reported explosives being found. Let me stop right there. So the police are confirming that somebody just happened to be training a dog to sniff out bombs. That happens all the time, right? Right. At a Trump rally.
Starting point is 00:28:29 In your neighborhood, almost any day, you probably run into a neighbor who's training their dog to sniff bombs. It just happens a lot. And it just happens to be where the Trump rally is going to be held. Right. Okay, so we'll just say it was a coincidence. Just happened to be this guy said, I'm going to take my dog out today and train him to smell bombs. Where can I find a big open area where I won't bother anybody? Oh, I'll go down here.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Oh, wow, there's a lot of people gathering here. Well, anyhow, I'm here. I'm going to do my dog training anyhow. Right. So Lieutenant Scott Skrydenicki, a spokesperson for the police department there, said in follow-up messages that the person who police have not yet identified was a civilian and not a member of a law enforcement agency. He also said the person was not working at or affiliated with the event, which was expected to draw thousands of Trump supporters. But he was there training his dog.
Starting point is 00:29:36 And they know who it is. Now, earlier Wednesday, Skrynecki and other county officials responded quickly to try to knock down the online claims. The claims were then shared on X by a number of prominent accounts, including that of the company's owner, Elon Musk. So they're trying to bring Musk in on this. They went on to say, false. Skrynecki texted the AP as the claim spread. No, ridiculous. Zero validity, said Christopher Boyle, spokesperson for the Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Except for the fact that there was somebody there. Training a bomb detection dog at a Trump rally who didn't belong there. Right, and supposedly found explosives. Well, they didn't say that. Well. They didn't agree to this. They didn't say that. They didn't agree to this. They didn't confirm that. But somebody in the police department
Starting point is 00:30:29 told the reporter, Mr. Leilani, that... And they found a blue barrel. You know, you don't want to give the name, could you just give us the badge number? You know, kind of like the pipe bomb on January 6th, and there's video of the police, the D.C. police,
Starting point is 00:30:50 placing the pipe bomb on the sidewalk. The night before. Yes. There's video of it. They got out of a cruiser, placed the bomb on the sidewalk, or wherever the area was that they placed it. There's video of it. No, I think this is a case of somebody messed up the plan.
Starting point is 00:31:17 I think there was going to be a bomb that was going to go off last night. I think so, too. I really do. So three times now, God has intervened to prevent this criminal cabal from carrying out murder. Three times now, Doc. Butler, here in Florida, and now Nassau County. What's next? Is this the new norm? Right.
Starting point is 00:31:46 That if you run for president, you may be shot or your supporters may be blown to pieces. Are we going to have bombs going off at political rallies now? What country are we in? What is this place? It's not America. We've been taken over. There's a criminal cabal in this country it's like we have our own operation gladio yes it does you know about operation gladio look that up that was a nato operation in europe in the 1960s what did they do they blew up people nato nato blew up
Starting point is 00:32:22 people on the streets of european cities to make it look like somebody else did it. That's not a conspiracy theory. AP, you want to debunk it? Go ahead. Get your biggest debunker out that you can get and try to debunk Operation Gladio. Teamsters Union won't endorse anybody in the presidential race. Why? Because they polled their members, and 60% of the Teamsters said they wanted to endorse President Trump. Oops. So much for democracy.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Yes. Well, what can we do now? Well, we won't endorse democracy. Yes. Well, what can we do now? Well, we won't endorse anybody. Yes. So the International Brotherhood of Teamsters declined to endorse a presidential candidate Wednesday after releasing internal polling showing that an overwhelming majority of its members supported former President Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris. It's the first time in nearly three decades that the union has not endorsed a presidential candidate. And this is what they said. Unfortunately, neither major candidate was able to make serious commitments to our union
Starting point is 00:33:36 to ensure the interests of working people are always put before big business, Teamsters President Sean O'Brien said in a statement, We sought commitments from both Trump and Harris not to interfere in critical union campaigns or core Teamsters industries and to honor our members' right to strike, but were unable to secure those pledges. Now ahead of the decision, the Teamsters shared internal data showing that a majority of members supported Donald Trump over Kamala Harris. According to an electronic member poll that was initiated after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race, about 60 percent of members believed the union should endorse Trump, while 34 percent supported Harris. About 6% said they supported another candidate.
Starting point is 00:34:30 So even though a majority of the Teamsters support Donald Trump, the Teamsters had to come out and say, well, we really can't endorse anybody, Rick. And the Teamster union members are Democrats. Yes. And then I saw a poll today that said there's going to be an overwhelming landslide in favor of Harris. They're at the point now, Doc, of saying the media, not just that Kamala Harris is going to win. This is shaping up to a historic, massive landslide. Yeah, Democrats are voting for Trump. Yeah, it's going to be a landslide, but we just don't know if it will be recognized. Yes.

Starting point is 00:38:32 AmericanReserves.com, okay? Take advantage of this offer. Now, we're going to run through some World War III news in the remaining 18-plus minutes. Obviously, the big story is what happened this week in Lebanon. And now there are reports that today there's a third wave. Oh, I didn't know this. Yeah. What's blowing up today? Obviously, there's still pagers and walkie-talkies that are still exploding to this day. Well, that means they're sending out more signals. It wasn't that the signal was delayed getting to the pagers. It means that Israel deliberately timed when various pagers were going to get the signal for maximum terror. It is a terror campaign.
Starting point is 00:39:20 It's a terrorist attack. Whatever you want to do. Hey, if you want to call Hezbollah a terrorist group, okay, go ahead. But you have to call the IDF and Mossad a terrorist group. Because they're terrorizing the people in Lebanon. It's terror. It's state
Starting point is 00:39:35 sponsored terrorism. Both sides. I'm not going to give Israel a pass. It's terrorism. Now, let me tell you, and we mentioned, we alluded to this yesterday. Washington Post. Pager attack brings to life long-feared supply chain threat.
Starting point is 00:39:57 The Post said the deadly attack that caused thousands of pagers used by members of Hezbollah to explode Tuesday shines a spotlight on an inconvenient truth. It is virtually impossible to secure the modern electronic supply chain against a determined and sophisticated adversary. So what we said Tuesday and Wednesday is this. Israel has introduced a new norm, a new way of waging warfare. Electronic devices exploding in homes, in cars, in offices, in hospitals, in schools. Israel had no idea where each individual would be. We're talking thousands of people. They had no idea where each individual would be. We're talking thousands of people. They had no idea where those people would be.
Starting point is 00:40:49 Some of them would be in their children's bedroom. Some of them would be in a school, in a hospital. Some would be in a restaurant. Israel didn't know, and they didn't care. If there are people around them that got killed, they didn't care. They don't care about anybody. So this is a new way of warfare. And so what we're hearing, what we're realizing now is the supply chain cannot be secured anymore.
Starting point is 00:41:19 Nowhere. Nowhere. Nowhere in the world. Israel did not tamper with the pagers. They built the pagers. Yes. And they deceived the paging manufacturer. They deceived them. A Taiwanese company. They deceived them. Israel set up a fake company I'll walk through this
Starting point is 00:41:47 CNBC walkie talkie firm probes link to second wave of Lebanon blasts as Israel declares new phase of war so you had the pagers and then you had the walkie talkies so both of the walkie talkies so both of the in the walkie talkie companies
Starting point is 00:42:07 icom i-c-o-m and uh i think they're japanese or are they taiwanese i'm not sure all right they're definitely an asian company in japanese they're japanese okay so icom in japan company. The Japanese. The Japanese, okay. So ICOM in Japan. And then what was it? Global, I forget the name of the Taiwanese company. The BAC group. No, BAC was Bulgaria. That was the fake company. The Bulgaria group.
Starting point is 00:42:35 Okay. The point is two innocent companies that made products were used by Israel to kill people. The companies did not place explosives into the devices in their manufacturing plants. What they did is that they gave this Bulgarian company licenses to make their product and sell it. You can do that. Many companies do such a thing. You want to sell our product?
Starting point is 00:43:08 Okay, we'll give you a license. You manufacture it. You sell it under our name. We get a license fee, all right, and we share the profits. That's what they thought they had done. So, Doc, Israel has destroyed those two companies. Yes, basically. Those two corporations should sue Israel, should sue the state of Israel for financial terrorism. I agree with that.
Starting point is 00:43:36 Yes. They should go to the World Trade Organization. They should go to the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court. They should go anywhere they can go in the world and file lawsuits against Israel, against the Mossad spy agency, against Netanyahu. Name all of them. They destroyed their companies. And the governments of Taiwan and Japan should be up in arms and demanding. They should be suing with them.
Starting point is 00:44:03 Right. Okay. But see, their leaders are afraid. They're afraid their cell phones will explode. See, when you have a psychopathic bully like Israel, you have to wonder, well, if I criticize them, they'll come and kill me. But they don't have to come to my house. They don't have to come to my office.
Starting point is 00:44:23 They just have to get a phone into my hand. They just get me to pick up any kind of electronic device that they can blow up. So the supply chain has been corrupted. You cannot assume anymore. Doc, you can't assume this laptop isn't going to blow up. I can't. this laptop isn't going to blow up i can't you don't know because that laptop may not have come is that an apple yes it may not have come from the apple factory it may have come from another factory might have been diverted and diverted and at
Starting point is 00:45:02 that manufacturing process they inserted explosives into it and apple doesn't know anything about it see this is this is what the jews have done to the global supply chain they've corrupted it and nobody will ever have assurance that the devices that they have in their possession have not been sabotaged. Look at this next one. This is number 13. Reuters. Lebanon bans pagers and walkie-talkies from all airline flights.
Starting point is 00:45:36 Doc, here's another one. Let's say you have your family, your spouse and your children, you're on a commercial airliner. I hadn't thought about this. You're on a commercial airliner. You're going on a vacation. Oh my goodness. And one guy seated next to you on the plane has a pager that Israel has
Starting point is 00:46:00 corrupted. He blows up on the plane. The plane blows up. Everybody on the plane dies. Israel doesn't care. They don't care. So what? They don't care. As long as there were no Jews on the plane. Because non-Jews are not fully human in their eyes. You think I'm kidding? You study their eyes. You think I'm kidding? You study their beliefs.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Hey, they were willing to take down a passenger plane over Yasser Arafat. Absolutely. So can you be assured now when you're on an aircraft that everybody on the plane isn't carrying a device that's loaded to go off?
Starting point is 00:46:47 It's just hard to, I mean, that's the world we're living in now. Thank you, Israel. Thank you so much. Thank you. And then the Lebanese army, which is not Hezbollah. Hezbollah is a militia. The Lebanese army is now destroying devices that they suspect have been tampered with. I've got a short video.
Starting point is 00:47:10 This is coming out of Beirut. It's a very short video of the Lebanese army blowing up their own devices. Let's watch. Okay, the Times of Israel reporting that the Nazan Hazrela, the head of Hezbollah, says that Israel has crossed all red lines. Now, I'll read a few quotes from him. We have received a very hard hit, the Hezbollah chief said on Thursday,
Starting point is 00:47:55 after thousands of electronic devices exploded across Lebanon the past two days, leaving 37 dead and more than 2,000 people injured. I think the injuries are far, and the deaths are far greater than this. In response, Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah, said, quote, the enemy has crossed all red lines, end of quote. Now, he goes on to say we have received a very hard hit. This is in a speech that he gave today in Lebanon.
Starting point is 00:48:28 He added that Hezbollah would emerge stronger and that the group would not be knocked out by the events of the past 48 hours. As Nasrallah was speaking, Israeli jets were heard flying over Beirut and loud explosions thought to be sonic booms from Israeli jets. He added
Starting point is 00:48:44 that the series of explosions were a big test for Hezbollah. So he's giving his little speech and saying, there, you Israelis, you've crossed the red line, and we're going to deal with you. Oh, what's that noise above me? Israeli war planes, okay? Doc, Nasrallah's lifespan is shorter than a praying mantis right now. You don't think they don't have something he's carrying around?
Starting point is 00:49:15 He's the big kahuna. I guarantee you, he's got, it might be a cigarette lighter. It's something. It might be his car it could be anything couldn't it i i learned yesterday i didn't know this that the geneva accords uh bands booby trapped devices this goes back i don't know when did the geneva accords were they written world war after world war ii i'm gonna assume, but I don't know for sure. They banned things like exploding tobacco pipes.
Starting point is 00:49:50 I didn't know all that stuff was going on. Somebody, you know, stuffed, I guess, gunpowder in pipes of world leaders and put some tobacco on it, knowing that when the guy lit his pipe, he was going to blow his head off. So the Israelis know that this is prohibited behavior. But then, who's
Starting point is 00:50:14 going to do anything about it? But Nasrallah, he's running his mouth. He's not going to be able to do anything, Doc. They took out thousands of his fighters. What's he going to be able to do anything, Doc. They took out thousands of his fighters. What's he going to do? Israel's going to launch its invasion, and he's not going to have any fighters. Right.
Starting point is 00:50:35 He's not going to be able to communicate with his fighters. So Israel's going to go into Lebanon and take Lebanese territory. The Lebanese army isn't going to fight. The Lebanese army is not Hezbollah. Hezbollah is bigger than the Lebanese army. But the Lebanese army is not going to go to war with Israel, but they're going to lose their land. Israel's going to go in and take their land. Not all of it. They're going to take a big chunk of it. Like Gaza, they're just going to say, hey, we're here. What are're going to take a big chunk of it. Like Gaza. They're just going to say, hey, we're here.
Starting point is 00:51:06 What are you going to do about it? You want to get a call on your cell phone? Nobody's going to do it. This is how they're going to get greater Israel. See how it's going to work? Greater Israel, inch by inch. Yes. They're just going to keep expanding and taking more land.
Starting point is 00:51:26 Jerusalem Post, Nasrallah dares Israel to invade Lebanon in speech. They're going to do it, buddy. You can be sure of that. Times of Israel, Israeli warplanes, buzz Beirut.
Starting point is 00:51:40 I've got some video. We'll show you these two videos. If we get some volume, you can hear the sound of the jets so these are the jets buzzing Beirut during the Nasrallah speech yeah so he's giving his speech saying hey we're going to fight and Israel is flying above him
Starting point is 00:52:02 what okay so forget about Nasrallah and Hezbollah And Israel's flying above him. What? Okay, so forget about Nazareel and Hezbollah. Okay, just really forget about it. Doctor, they're not capable of launching a counterattack right now. Unless they've got so many soldiers tucked away that they're prepared for something like this but i doubt it okay but what impact is this having i'll show you two articles that i saw yesterday this is number 22 reuters saudi arabia will not recognize israel without palestinian recognize Israel without Palestinian state, says the crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman. Now, Doc, just a week or two ago, the reports coming out of Saudi Arabia was that
Starting point is 00:52:53 bin Salman was in a hurry to get a deal done with Israel. And now? Now he's like, you know what? What's changed? I think I'm going to back off. I think I'm going to check all the devices in the palace. Maybe the Israelis can't be trusted. We already know that Israel shared technology with Saudi Arabia.
Starting point is 00:53:18 Yes. Everybody's wondering. But see, it's not that they bought. Hezbollah obviously didn't buy. They didn't go on a Middle Eastern type of Amazon and say, hey, let's buy thousands of pagers. Oh, they're manufactured. From the IDF. Yeah, they're manufactured here in Tel Aviv.
Starting point is 00:53:36 No, they thought they bought pagers from Bulgaria. But the company in Bulgaria was a Mossad front. It was set up to deceive the Hezbollah leaders. So governments all over the world have no idea. They can't just say, hey, we'll just cut out buying stuff from Israel. No, you don't know. It doesn't matter where it comes from. You may be purchasing from an Israeli Mossad front, a shell corporation set up in another country. But anyhow, Mohammed bin Salman has pulled the brake on getting closer to Israel. And he said, Saudi Arabia will not
Starting point is 00:54:28 sign any agreements with Israel until Israel agrees to establish a Palestinian nation. Right. Now look at the next one. Reuters, United Nations demands Israel end unlawful presence in Palestinian territories within 12 months. The United Nations yesterday, folks, this is not getting any press. The United Nations yesterday voted, this resolution passed, that Israel has 12 months to vacate the West Bank in Gaza. Doc, this has backfired on Israel. And this is just days before Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to speak to the United Nations. That's coming up next week.
Starting point is 00:55:21 I don't think that's going to go over well. Is he going to bring out another bomb picture? Yeah. No, a cell phone picture. Yeah. A pager picture. The resolution passed 124 to 43. Of course, the United States voted against it. The resolution welcomes an advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice.
Starting point is 00:55:48 And it calls on, the UN resolution calls on nations to take steps, to take steps towards ceasing the importation of any products originating in the Israeli settlements. This is calling for a boycott of anything Israel makes in the West Bank territories. Right. Gaza or the West Bank. Yes.
Starting point is 00:56:15 U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield urged countries to vote no. Well, they didn't. They voted yes. They passed it.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Now, what's also significant about this particular resolution, it's the very first resolution that the Palestinian state has put forward. They were recognized as a seated member of the United Nations earlier this week. And their first resolution passed. Yes. I'm going to get one more in here before I got 30 seconds. Number 26, Lee. This is a Russian news report.

Starting point is 01:00:28 So if you've got your Bibles, please open to Matthew chapter 23. I'm reading from the King James this morning. Woe unto you, the blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing. But whosoever shall swear by the gold of is nothing but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple he's a debtor he fools and blind for whether is greater the gold of the temple that sanctifies the gold verse 18 and whosoever shall swear by the altar it is nothing but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it he is guilty he. He fools and blind, for whether is greater the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift.
Starting point is 01:01:11 Verse 20. Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. And whosoever and whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon. God bless the reading of his word today. We continue our study in the woes today. Yes. Verse 16, Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing.
Starting point is 01:01:48 But whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor. So the Pharisees had a, they had constructed over many years a complex system regarding oaths. Yes. And they used these intricate rules to financially exploit others. Had nothing to do with serving God. It was about filling their pockets with gain. One of these rules was that swearing by the temple was considered insignificant and did not create a binding obligation.
Starting point is 01:02:39 However, swearing by the gold in the temple was significant and it created a legal contract a binding obligation so the distinction was based on the perceived level of consecration or sanctity the gold of the temple referred to what was known as Corban. And we studied that many months ago when Jesus was rebuking them for not taking care of their elderly parents, saying, Mom, Dad, I'd like to feed you. I'd like to pay your bills,
Starting point is 01:03:20 but my money's been promised to the Corban. That's right. They used the Corban for a lot of things but the Corbin was the treasury of the temple and it and also the gold of the temple probably referred to the golden vessels within the temple. I don't think it referred to any of the gold plating that would have been on walls and so forth. I think it was the vessels and the gold in the treasury. Right. So Jesus said, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing.
Starting point is 01:04:08 If somebody made an oath and said, I swear by the temple, everybody knew that man or woman was not legally bound to that oath. It was just a figure of speech. The phrase, it is nothing, means that the person speaking the oath, the one who was swearing, owed nothing. They were not obligated by their oath they could get out of it all they had to say was i swore by the temple however the pharisees believed that swearing by the gold in the temple the corbin the treasury held the person to a higher obligation because they considered
Starting point is 01:05:10 the gold to be more valuable than the temple. Swearing by the gold in the temple created a binding legal contract. And that person became indebted. And they relinquished ownership of whatever they swore, even if it was needed for parental support. And that's where that other saying came from when Jesus talked about their neglect of their parents. I can't give it.
Starting point is 01:05:48 I can't spend it. Right. I've set aside this gift for the Lord. Or, Doc, it was collateral. It was collateral. It was committed to the Corbin. It was collateral. They couldn't touch it.
Starting point is 01:06:08 Gotcha. I hadn't thought about it that way until today no i i think you're right i think there there's there's a good argument for that rick yeah they they considered that money that gold whatever it was it was collateral hey i pledged it i can't spend it praise god if i don't fulfill my my oath this gold in my house or whatever it was it's got to go to the corbin yeah mom and dad you're eating the vienna sausages and and uh watery oatmeal but you know i've already pledged my inheritance that's right he said so whoever shall swear by the gold of the temple he is a debtor it means that person was legally obligated to fulfill a contract. He was in debt. So, by exaggerating the sacredness of the gold, the Pharisees led people to
Starting point is 01:07:16 undervalue the temple and the altar and made it less serious to violate oaths to the altar and the temple. Which means that they were committing perjury. And so Jesus calls these folks blind guides because of this. That's right. You are blind as bats. Because the Pharisees said the gold was more important, more valuable than the temple,
Starting point is 01:07:53 more valuable than the altar, and more valuable than the sacrifices at the altar for the sins of the people. And I think the last one doc is actually the most grievous thing to God so the manipulation of oaths serve the Pharisees greedy motives Greedy motives. These guys have always been about the gold. They control the gold market today. They control the worldwide gold market. A handful of these modern Pharisees. One our chat members Marcy here made an observation Rick said kind of like today so your thousand dollar seed instead of
Starting point is 01:08:53 paying your rent or feeding your kids they'll give it to somebody with an expectation of getting a blessing back but won't take care of their immediate obligations yes exactly right it's exactly right you know i've i've seen ministers um you know they make vows to god and and I'm okay with making a vow to God. But the way that these guys teach it, that vow takes priority over anything else. Right. Including your own family. That's true.
Starting point is 01:09:41 And so when you make a financial vow to God to support a church or a ministry, you need to preface that vow with, Lord, as you supply, as you supply the funds for me to fulfill this vow. Because God will supply, and he's not going to ask you to starve your children or your grandparents in order to fulfill a vow to him he's not going to do that but the preachers would absolutely they've got payments to make on their airplane. Jet fuel costs money, right?
Starting point is 01:10:29 Yes, that's right. So the Pharisees extended this manipulation of the people to swearing by the gifts on the altar. How did this rule come into existence I believe it was the offspring of a marriage between greed and superstition people are easily manipulated to accept superstitious beliefs and practices if you want to see superstition go to Haiti I mean there's some serious superstition on that island greed and superstition go hand in hand the natural inclination of humans is toward accepting error and that inclination is easily exasperated when people with authority deliberately encourage it for their own selfish ambitions right yes there
Starting point is 01:11:38 there are shrewd evil people who think, you know those people are superstitious. If we give them a superstition that makes us rich, that'll be smart. We'll just give them some superstition that's in our favor. You don't think people think like that? There's some really shrewd, cunning, sneaky, devious, greedy people in this world. So, in the case of the Jews, their reverence for the gold of the temple and the sacred offerings surpassed their respect for the temple and the altar themselves. And this distorted, warped reverence stemmed from a scheme devised by the scribes and the priests to exploit the people for profit.
Starting point is 01:12:45 And Jesus knew it. He'd been watching them for centuries. So Jesus' teaching rejects these distinctions within religious structures. What he's teaching is the temple encompasses everything within it, including the altar and the offerings. And the ultimate authority behind any oath is Almighty God. Because everything, including the temple and heaven itself, is under his sovereignty.
Starting point is 01:13:29 So it doesn't matter what you say in an oath. The moment you take an oath, you are invoking God, whether you say his name or not, because everything is under his authority that's right the temple the altar the sacrifice the vessels of the temple the gold of the temple the gold in the treasury it all it's all his that's right so jesus denounced the scribes and the pharisees as blind guides, leading others into darkness, and showing them that their blindness, their foolishness, was driven by their insatiable greed for wealth. And so that promoted a culture of vain swearing and perjury, encouraging the people to make oaths without considering the gravity of their words.
Starting point is 01:14:32 Yes. Or the validity of their words. Or to say that some oaths are more binding than other oaths. Yes. Based on what it is you're swearing by so verse 17 he says you blind fools for which is greater the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold so in this verse he continued his rebuke of the religious leaders. He called them fools, emphasizing not just their lack of understanding, but their moral were fools.
Starting point is 01:15:28 He exposed the irrationality, the moral delinquency of their superstitious thoughts and behaviors. He implied that their actions were not only illogical, but sinful. And he attacked the Pharisees' distinction between swearing by the temple and swearing by the gold of the temple. Right. By exposing the absurdity of their argument regarding the sanctity of the oath Jesus revealed the Pharisees flawed understanding of holiness and
Starting point is 01:16:10 their manipulation of the people for personal gain right you know here in western culture if we go to a courtroom and we have to testify many people are asked to swear on the Bible if we go to a courtroom and we have to testify,
Starting point is 01:16:30 many people are asked to swear on the Bible, right? You know, you put your hand on the Bible, you're telling the truth. Well, you should have been telling the truth before you put your hand on a Bible, which is why I don't swear on a Bible at all. You know, a lot of courtrooms, they ask, do you swear or affirm that what you're about to say is the truth? Well, I affirm what I'm speaking is the truth. I don't need to swear. Because that seems like lying other times, but not when I'm right here with my hand on a Bible. I'm afraid I'm not going to hit a bolt of here with my hand on a bible i'm afraid i'm gonna hit a bowl of lightning with my
Starting point is 01:17:05 hand taking an oath to tell the truth implies that you are taking a temporary break from lying yes isn't that what it says that that's exactly that's why i and i haven't since i was a young man i i've never you know i've been in court lots of times but never have sworn on a bible or anything like that i was convicted that early on um and so uh well how you can swear on anything that you have no control over that's right um and it assumes that you are doing something bad before you swore. It's not quite the same parallel here in this passage, but it does give us a little bit of insight into the hypocrisy of the situation. You know, Doc, it wasn't until this year,
Starting point is 01:17:59 my ignorance of the U.S. Constitution, it wasn't until this year that i was aware that the united states constitution gives the citizens of this country the option of swearing or affirming i didn't know that and you know what it was you know how i got there because i had i knew i had to go to a court hearing and i knew i'm going to be asked raise your right hand not ask but you know told it raise your right hand and swear and i thought well how am i going to handle this and and that's when i discovered the constitution actually gives you that option and then when i was there in the courtroom the judge said do you swear or affirm
Starting point is 01:18:59 so the judge offers the option right well you need to know that as a christian you you're not obligated to to swear when you know that it's going to violate your conscience and that's why it was put in the constitution we're on a bible how about that christians christians insisted that it be placed in the u.s constitution that's how important it was to people at that time. Yes. It became a constitutional right that you did not have to swear in a court hearing. So get back to this. The Pharisees, as we've said, considered the gold of the temple more sacred than the temple itself so Jesus
Starting point is 01:19:50 challenged the notion by pointing out that it's the temple that sanctifies the gold not the other way around and so he he posed a rhetorical question to the Pharisees to illustrate the flaw in their logic. Which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? Well, see, the Pharisees' thinking that the gold was more important than the temple tells you how warped their thinking was in the first place right it was all about the gold it's all about the gold today it's about the hell no it's still about the gold i was going to say it's about the benjamin's baby but hey it temple as the place that housed the goal it was theirs it was their central bank depository hey nobody's gonna steal that gold it's in the temple that's that's where they deposited the gold that was the Corban the treasury
Starting point is 01:21:08 even Herod wouldn't go in there they knew that even Herod would not go in there and take the gold but it was their gold so what Jesus is teaching here but it was their gold. So what Jesus is teaching here is that the temple is greater because it was the dwelling place of God dedicated to his service and the location of divine worship. The gold, on the other hand,
Starting point is 01:21:44 derived its sanctity from its association with the temple and its use in sacred rituals yes therefore the temple by virtue of its divine significance held greater sanctity and importance than the gold within it it's the temple that sanctifies the gold not the other way around so the temple being the dwelling place of god's presence held the inherent sanctity while the gold derived its sanctity from its association with the temple therefore an oath sworn by the temple should be considered more binding and obligate obligatory then the oath sworn by the goal within it but the Jews taught just the other way around now Jesus wasn't endorsing swearing at all he's just showing them
Starting point is 01:22:50 the hypocrisy the hypocrisy the stupidity of their other thinking he's teaching the supremacy and holiness of the temple over its components its furnishings he's showing them their their misplaced priorities and their misunderstanding of holiness that they are placing a higher value on material wealth than spiritual wealth. We get to verse 18. And whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing. But whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. Whoever swears by the altar this refers to the altar of burnt offerings in the temple courtyard they were constructed of brass this is where
Starting point is 01:23:59 the animals were sacrificed sacrifice to God for the remission of the people's sins offerings were presented on the altar as gifts to God and so we're talking about animals and birds. So the altar and its offerings symbolize the religious rituals, the ceremonies that were the central part of Jewish worship. The altar was the focal point for these rituals and sacrifices required by the law. The central place of Jewish worship.
Starting point is 01:24:53 There's really nothing more important in the temple than the altar. So the offerers the people who made the offerings at the temple, had the view, had a mistaken view about righteousness. Yes. So, the error in their thinking led to shortcomings.
Starting point is 01:25:32 And Jesus spoke of the altar and its offerings to remind the Pharisees that they were responsible for overseeing and conducting the rituals at the altar and so the act of swearing by the gift um referred to the offering presented at the altar i'm trying to get this so the phrase upon it refers to the altar so these guys are they're distinguishing between the gift and the altar Right Really, the altar is meaningless without the gift Right Let's go back and look Jesus said that whosoever shall swear by the altar
Starting point is 01:26:21 It is nothing But whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. So they're saying the altar is meaningless, but the gift is important. And Jesus is showing them, no, that's not true the altar the they said that it's nothing. But if you swore by the gift, you were guilty. You were bound. You were obligated so again they've got this twisted understanding of what is important and what is not right and they've made up these rules that's right
Starting point is 01:27:34 and jesus is not endorsing swearing by the temple the altar the sacrifice the gold he's simply pointing out this is where you're this is your blind guides your hypocrites you know you think that you can just make up these arbitrary rules about swearing then the whole idea of saying that there are different levels of swearing was the their way getting around the law they say well we follow the law of moses but actually all these little minor rules and regulations made up rules by man were meant to get around the law of god yes and all he's doing is he's just saying hey i'm going to give you an example i'm going to give you several examples of the errors of your thinking and i'm going to tell you why you do it because i know why you do it verse 19 he says
Starting point is 01:28:35 you fools and blind for weather is greater the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift so once again he's basically he's repeating the theme that according to jewish tradition the altar was designated as most holy and its sanctity extended to whatever it touched. That was according to the Old Testament. Yes. But that's not what the Jews were practicing at that time. So the implication is that the offering derived its holiness from the altar upon which it was presented. The Jews at that time flipped it around and said the gift sanctifies the altar.
Starting point is 01:29:37 Their emphasis, their mind was always on something that cost them money, cost them something. Hey, I paid for that sheep. That thing is more valuable than that altar. Wow. I hadn't thought of it that way. Yes, you're right. Yeah, that's the way they saw it.
Starting point is 01:30:03 Everything had a monetary value to them so jesus in this verse affirms the principle that the altar imparts sanctity to the gift not vice versa so he's pointing out the logical conclusion if the the altar sanctifies the gift, then the altar must be greater, which was the opposite of what the Pharisees taught to people. The Pharisees' assertion was that the oaths made by the gift were binding, while oaths made by the gift were binding while oaths made by the altar were not and they came to that conclusion by saying the gifts were more valuable than the altar
Starting point is 01:30:54 right so since the gift receives its sanctity from the altar an oath made by the altar should be more sacred than the one made by the gift, according to Jesus' logic. Again, he's not promoting it. He's simply revealing how illogical their thinking was. Verse 20. Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar sweareth by it and by all things thereon so he continues on this theme he expands on the concept of swearing by the altar stating that it encompasses all things on it. Again, he's not endorsing swearing by the altar. He's using this as an example to make a point about oaths. What it shows us is that making oaths, particularly involving the temple and the altar and gifts was widespread and and entrenched in Israel that time
Starting point is 01:32:15 so an oath involves a witness who will punish perjury. If you make an oath, if you swear, there has to be somebody that enforces the oath. There has to be somebody who heard the oath and has the authority to enforce it. If not, what is it? Right. It's useless. It's useless. It's useless.
Starting point is 01:32:47 So swearing by the altar, or swearing by the temple, or swearing by the gold implies acknowledgement of the God who presides over them, whether you use His name or not. That's right. Now, the Jews would not swear by the name of God. That's Exodus 20, verse 7, I think, in the Ten Commandments, not to swear by the name of God. And they wouldn't do that. But to get around that,
Starting point is 01:33:23 they've got this elaborate system here of levels of oaths which really it negates all oaths when you get right down to it yes makes all oaths worthless because like you said who can afford who can enforce a temple oath who can enforce an altar oath who who is the witness to it well god is the witness to all oaths, whether or not you swear by his name or not. That's right. Because he owns the temple and he owned the altar. That's right. So if you're swearing by his temple and his altar, and hey, he's supposed to own the gold too.
Starting point is 01:34:01 If you're swearing by the temple, the or the gold you're you're bringing god into the oath you don't have to say his name that's the message here this is the message of jesus is is driving home to the jews you can't swear anything without invoking God. You have all these elaborate intricate methods to skirt around the prohibition of swearing by God. But it doesn't matter what you do. You're still swearing
Starting point is 01:34:36 by God. That's right. Verse 21 is the key to that. And whosoever shall swear by the temple sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. Yes. You're still sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. Yes. You're still swearing by God. Because God dwells in the temple. So, even when people swore by exempt objects like the gold of the temple,
Starting point is 01:35:02 because they said the gold was exempt, God is still the ultimate witness the temple. Because they said, they said the gold was exempt. God is still the ultimate witness and judge. And what he's, he's challenging this notion of the Pharisees that certain objects like the gold could be exempt from divine scrutiny and oath making. Because that's what they're implying.
Starting point is 01:35:32 When somebody swears by the altar, they are implicitly invoking the sanctity of the altar and everything associated with it, including the gifts and the offerings placed on the altar. So the phrase, the mention of all things thereon, this signifies as something greater than the specific gift on the altar. It implies a connection to the divine presence associated with the altar. And it included the sacred fire. And the entirety of the divinely ordained ministry associated with the altar. You see, they're bringing things in to this oath.
Starting point is 01:36:27 They have no business. That's right. I mean, they're touching things that they shouldn't be touching. They're bringing the divine fire into this oath. Because the fire was at the altar so Jesus is showing the interconnectedness of the oath with the altar and the offering placed on it swearing by the altar involves swearing by the offering. And so there's an intertwining of elements involving the sacredness and the significance of the oath. Therefore, the oath by the altar implies acknowledgement
Starting point is 01:37:22 of the recipient of the offering, meaning Almighty God. Right. See, if you're swearing an oath by the altar, and the gift on the altar, well, who is the recipient of the gifts on the altar? It's supposed to be God. It's only one so what jesus is showing them is even though you don't say his name you're still swearing by him you're still swearing by him because he is the one and only recipient of the offerings on the altar so you get to verse 21 and whoso shall swear by the temple swear it by it and by him that dwelleth therein the temple held a special significance as the dwelling place of God's presence,
Starting point is 01:38:31 symbolized by God's glory between the cherubim atop the Ark of the Covenant. However, that was the first temple. The second temple lacked several key elements that were present in the first temple. Right. The Ark of the Covenant. The Holy Spirit of Prophecy. The Sacred Fire. The Glory.
Starting point is 01:38:56 None were visible in the second temple. And so Jesus is challenging the notion that God still inhabited the temple that's right he's he's implying that his divine presence had shifted because he's preparing them for the revelation that his own incarnation is the dwelling place of god among humanity yes jesus is the dwelling place of God among humanity. Yes. Jesus is the new temple. And you and I, that's why Paul says our body, our bodies are the temple of God. Yes.
Starting point is 01:39:41 Because we're all part of Christ. And so this is all shocking to the Pharisees. They can't comprehend. God has left the temple? Yes. It's just a shell. You're looking at the new temple. And if you tear it down, I'll raise it up in three days. And where is he making this delivery, this message, Rick?
Starting point is 01:40:17 In the temple. That's right. Now, this leads us right into chapter 24, because chapter 24 reveals the end of the temple, the end of Jerusalem, and the end of Judaism. Yes. All three of them. And, you know, this is significant here. He's building them up to this.
Starting point is 01:40:41 He's saying this, Judaism is going to die. Mm-hmm. building them up to this he's saying this judaism is going to die so god's presence had left the temple the temple system was no longer adequate for fulfilling its original purpose. A new way of approaching God was being introduced. And therefore, such oaths were meaningless if the divine presence had departed. What he's saying here is, you shouldn't be swearing by the temple or the gold or the altar or the offering.
Starting point is 01:41:22 You shouldn't be doing that in the first place. But I'll just tell you something else. Even if you could, my father's presence has left. That's right. And that's why he calls them blind gods. Yes. Even if these oaths were allowed by my father,
Starting point is 01:41:44 they still wouldn't be valid because his presence has left the temple. It's just an empty building. Verse 22, And he that shall swear by heaven sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth there on the Talmud teaching suggested that oaths made by invoking heaven or earth were not binding because they were considered mere creations Jesus rejected the Talmudic belief. He's teaching that swearing by any created thing is swearing by the creator.
Starting point is 01:42:38 Therefore, all oaths carry the same weight. Yes. It doesn't matter what you swear by. It's all by the creator. So now Jesus refers to heaven as the throne of God. God's throne is where he manifests his glory and his sovereignty. Jesus is emphasizing that only God as the creator and the owner of all things can truly be appealed to as a witness in oaths. Right. And then those oaths are binding because they're made before God. God is the witness. God is the witness to the oath, to all oaths,
Starting point is 01:43:24 whether you swear by a building by an altar, by the sacrifice by the gold God is a witness to all oaths and that's why please ask you 5-5 it says it's better not to make an oath at all if you're not planning on fulfilling it
Starting point is 01:43:39 don't even speak it out loud it's best to avoid an oath. Yeah, so, Doc, what he's teaching here is that creatures, whether animate or inanimate, living beings or things made by people or could be rocks, anything, none of them have the authority, the ability to validate an oath yes so when this is the theme we keep going back to that when somebody swears by heaven they are swearing by god himself who reigns from his throne in heaven.
Starting point is 01:44:29 And so this underscores the binding nature of such oaths as they ultimately invoke God's presence and authority. Any oath made in relation to God, whether directly or indirectly, is binding. Even if not explicitly mentioning God, the implication of his involvement in the oath makes it an obligation to be fulfilled. Because they are ultimately invoking God's name and his authority. Right. name and his authority right so Jesus is a he's he's criticizing the casualness
Starting point is 01:45:15 with which the Jews flippantly swore oath right these things that just came out of their mouths and they didn't take it seriously. Hebrews 6, verse 13 and 14. For when God made promise to Abraham, listen to this, because he could swear by no greater. He swore by himself. Yes. Saying, surely, blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. Yes, God swore to Abraham. But why could God swear to Abraham? Because he was swearing by himself, and there was no one greater.
Starting point is 01:46:03 That's right and God had the ability to carry out his oath and his very nature says that he was a I hate an obligation on God but it's only way I can say it humanly it obligated him to fulfill the promise that he made by his very nature yes because he cannot lie right so god god gave an oath to abraham and he he swore by his own name think about god said i swear to god i swear to myself later myself there's no one higher than me i can't there's no i can't use any other name. There's nobody above me. Therefore, I am a witness to this oath. Therefore, I am obligated to fulfill
Starting point is 01:46:52 this oath to Abraham. See, this, Hebrews 6, 13, 14 tells you every promise God has made to you, he is obligated to himself to keep his promise to you. is obligated to himself to keep his promise to you yes don't ever wonder whether he'll withdraw his promise in his word to you or whether you will be exempted from his work
Starting point is 01:47:17 he is obligated to fulfill his own oaths made to himself. Yes. In his own name. When he said he will save you if you put your faith in Jesus Christ, he will save you. That's his promise. Yes. When he says that he will not leave you nor forsake you. That's a promise. Yes. It's an oath that he made in his own name.
Starting point is 01:47:52 I want to end with a sermon on the mount. Let's go back to Matthew chapter 5. Doc, if you can read verses 33 through 37. We studied this a long time ago in the year 2024. Seems so long ago that we were at Matthew 5. All right. So here I'm in Matthew chapter 5, verses 33 through 37. Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time,
Starting point is 01:48:24 Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths. But I say unto you, swear not at all, neither by heaven, for it is God's throne, nor by the earth, for it is his footstool, neither by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great king. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou cannot make one hair white or black.
Starting point is 01:48:49 But let your communication be yea, yea, nay, nay, for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. All right, so the Sermon on the Mount, as we have learned, is the constitution of the kingdom of heaven and the constitution of heaven the kingdom of heaven says don't swear don't swear period so this when when Jesus is giving this instruction he's given this instruction to his followers. Say, listen, it's just better not to swear.
Starting point is 01:49:29 Just don't do it. Don't swear. He is speaking to the citizens of his kingdom. This is the king speaking to his citizens. And the king is declaring that swearing is illegal in his kingdom it goes beyond Jesus saying hey it's best that you don't do it but I say swear not at all yes swear not at all by what neither by heaven why it's God's throne what did we just read in verse 22 he who swears by heaven swears by the throne of God and by him who sits on it so Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount said,
Starting point is 01:50:26 don't swear at all, neither by heaven, for that is where God's throne is located. And don't swear by the earth. Well, that's his footstool. And don't swear by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great king.
Starting point is 01:50:42 Neither swear by your head. Don't even swear by your head because you can't change the color of one hair and when you are asked a question say yes or no anything beyond that is coming from evil that's all you have to do. Look, all of us, you know, somebody will say to us, you swear, do you swear that's true? Would you swear on a stack of Bibles that that really happened? Do you swear to God that you really said that? We've all been asked those questions by people around us.
Starting point is 01:51:32 And typically, you know, we go, yeah, yeah, I swear. We shouldn't swear at all. And so when somebody asks you, do you swear on a stack of Bibles? Do you swear by God? Do you swear? You need you need to say no I don't swear at all I'll tell you the truth and if it's a family member say I'm sorry I my king said I cannot swear yes I will tell you the truth I am obligated by my king to tell the truth and so when you're asked a question and somebody says well tell me yes or no then that's the answer give them yes or no and you give the answer and they want more, say, I'm sorry, I answered your question.
Starting point is 01:52:28 That's coming from Jesus himself. And if we did it, it would keep us out of a lot of trouble. Because we get ourselves in trouble with our mouth. We dig our holes with our tongue. We're scooping out the dirt with our tongue. We're scooping out the dirt with our tongue, going down deeper and deeper. Just let your communication be yes or no. And don't swear.
Starting point is 01:53:01 Because the moment you swear, you have now brought god into the conversation and you're not permitted to do it so that's what this oh go ahead i'm sorry no no no go ahead doc no we're getting a lot of questions in chat um what's then for the christian now what's the difference between an oath and a pledge so when someone says I pledge allegiance to the flag is that equal to an oath or if we pledge a gift is that nice a well I'm making a promise to pay this amount of money I'm making a pledge is that the same as an oath I have my opinion about it but well let me hear yours I have I have kind of come to the point in my life where I am no longer comfortable making a pledge to the flag because to me it's the the oath conviction there now that's just me now yes
Starting point is 01:54:09 uh that's where I'm at now but it took a long time to get there uh because I differentiated between pledges and oaths but I'm challenged by the scripture I can't make a difference between those things. Now, if I don't denigrate the flag, I don't burn it, I don't dishonor it or anything like that, but at the same time, my allegiance is to a king and a kingdom. That's what I was going to say. It says I pledge allegiance to the flag. Right. So you're making a binding statement
Starting point is 01:54:49 that your allegiance is to the flag well what if the flag now represents something contrary to the word of god that's right and that's where i ended up on this issue so but it took a while because we're so ingrained i mean even when even when I was a kid, Rick, we were still doing the Pledge of Allegiance in school every day. Of course. Up until when? Until I hit third grade. And so after third grade... The Pledge or the Lord's Prayer. Right.
Starting point is 01:55:21 Yeah, because, you know, we were doing the Lord's Prayer and the pledge. But, you know, Doc, back then you didn't have conviction about the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag because you never thought you would be pledging allegiance to a nation that's official policy is the promotion of homosexuality, transvestite uh uh you know ideology um uh perpetual war you never thought that that's what you were pledging allegiance to right you thought you were pledging allegiance to a nation that was under god one nation under god well we're not we're not one nation anymore and we're not under God. So, you know, maybe the way to opt out of it, Doc, that's acceptable. Somebody says, why aren't you saying the Pledge of Allegiance? Well, but it's not a nation under God anymore. When you come back to being under god i'll say it again well you know in paul you know paul didn't discount his roman citizenship but i can't help but think that paul was allegiant to rome
Starting point is 01:56:35 right right i mean he didn't put rome's priorities above heaven's priorities can you imagine Paul saying I pledge allegiance to the Roman Empire there you go would he have said it no but if you if for an American you know what they have you know what the accusation is if you don't say the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag the allegation is you are a traitor right but if you're pledging allegiance to an inanimate object a flag in heaven are you considered a traitor see that's where your conscience has to come to this conclusion you're going to be a traitor to somebody do you want heaven to consider you a traitor to the kingdom of heaven somebody asked here I just saw it go by. What about the courtroom?
Starting point is 01:57:46 Yeah, Jennifer. I thought we mentioned this earlier. When you're in court, when the judge says, do you swear to tell the truth, hold yourself? Okay. Most courts will say, do you swear or affirm right the constitution of the united states gives you the option to say affirm right affirm under the penalty of perjury yes so that's not swearing you're affirming yes i'm going to tell the truth
Starting point is 01:58:22 but swearing is something different right and you're not allowed to swear and that was placed in the constitution by christians who didn't want to violate their conscience think about it doc in the constitutional convention this issue was so contentious that there were delegates to the Constitutional Convention saying to the other delegates, hey, we can't order people to swear. And so they wrote it into the Constitution knowing that that would cause people to stumble
