Starting point is 00:00:35 supply needs. Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed that the U.S. State Department monitored the social media posts of American citizens that the agency deemed to be purveyors of disinformation or misinformation. And in another explosive revelation at the White House cabinet meeting, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy said his agency, HHS, during the Biden administration, helped to facilitate child trafficking in the United States. This is true news for Thursday, May 1st, 2025. Tomorrow will be our final true news episode. But Doc and I will be here Monday teaching the word of God in the Morning Man of Bible
Starting point is 00:01:47 class of Faith and Values Fellowship. And we will do it for people who have ears to hear. And we invite you to be with us every weekday for a Bible study class. We're not going away. We're just changing the focus of what we're doing for faith and values. But for now, today, let's start with today's analysis and commentary with this Fox News article. Rubio reveals obscure Biden administration office kept disinformation dossier on a Trump official.
Starting point is 00:02:24 Yes. So Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed during a cabinet meeting that the Biden administration's State Department kept dossiers on Americans accused of serving as vectors of disinformation, including a file on an unidentified Trump administration official. Let's watch. We'll listen to what the secretary said. Something else we got out of business. I'm wondering why we reported it or maybe it was.
Starting point is 00:02:51 We had a department. We had an office in the Department of State whose job it was to censor Americans. And by the way, I'm not going to say who it is. I'll leave it up to them. There's at least one person at this table today who had a dossier in that building of social media posts to identify them as purveyors of disinformation. We have these dossiers. We are going to be turning those over to these individuals. Was it me or Elon? We could follow up with the media stuff.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Well, we are going to turn over these dossiers to the individuals and they'll decide whether they want to disclose it or not. But just think about the Department of State of the United States had set up an office to monitor the social media posts and commentary of American citizens to identify them as vectors of disinformation when we know that the best way to combat disinformation is freedom of speech and transparency. And so that's what we're going to be in the business of doing. We're not going to have an office that does that. Why was the State Department even bothering with US citizens at all? Isn't their job foreign relations? Isn't that their job description?
Starting point is 00:03:54 Yes, but the Biden administration weaponized every agency that they could get their hands on. And so, Doc, if the State Department is in charge of implementing US foreign policy, I would think that perhaps they were going after people who were criticizing or analyzing in a way they didn't like the foreign policy of the State Department. That very well could be Rick. So it's probably issues like Israel, Gaza, Ukraine, the China flu. China. Sure. Anything like that. That would be under the could also be promoting gay rights, transgenderism around the world.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Or being critical of it. That's what I mean. The State Department promoting it and people in America being critical of the State Department's activities. The Secretary, Mr. Rubio, said, if I understood him right, the State Department is going to turn these dossiers over to each American who was monitored.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Yes, and they can decide whether or not they want to release it on their own. But he said there was at least one person in that cabinet meeting who was spied on. So incredible. My guess is it was Robert Kennedy. Yeah, that's my money favorite. Maybe Tulsi Gabbard, probably Robert F Kennedy Jr. and he had something to say in the cabinet meeting yesterday too Rick this is Daily Beast reporting this. Look at the headline. Yeah they're taking a negative view of it
Starting point is 00:05:36 but RFK Jr. pushes conspiracy HSS forced kids into slavery they don't say what kind of slavery. Why is it a conspiracy to say we have evidence that the Health and Human Services Department helped facilitate child trafficking? Well, I know why they're doing it. And, Doc, Daily Beast, with its misleading headline, I think it's the only national news outlet that even published anything about it. Yes, except for X where you had the video of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Well what happened in the cabinet meeting yesterday? Robert F. Kennedy claimed he is shutting down an alleged government connection, now once
Starting point is 00:06:23 again this is Daily B saying this, to child sex trafficking that has been widely discredited as a conspiracy theory once again that's Daily Beast really it's been widely just it's been debunked right right well who debunked it yeah just the Daily Beast yes the Health and Human Services Secretary was referring to an unsubstantiated allegation made by Donald Trump that more than 300,000 migrant children, not illegal alien children, disappeared during Joe Biden's presidency. President Trump suggested that the children may have been trafficked as sex slaves, although
Starting point is 00:07:00 there is no evidence to support his claim. R.F. K. Jr.'s claim at a White House Cabinet meeting was the latest in a series of accusations by Trump officials against the previous administration that some experts have said are a distortion of the facts. Listen to this bombshell narrative by R.F.K. Jr. that I got to hand it to Bobby Jr. Coming out and saying this out loud,
Starting point is 00:07:27 I'm proud of you. I really am. Listen to this. We have ended HHS as the role, as the vector, the principal vector in this country for child trafficking. And during the Biden administration, HHS became a collaborator in child trafficking and for sex and for slavery.
Starting point is 00:07:52 And we have ended that and we're very aggressively going out and trying to find these children, 300,000 children that were lost by the Biden administration. Doc, if he is telling the truth, and I absolutely believe he's telling the truth, then the Department of Justice and the FBI should be investigating the people who were in the State Department under Joe Biden, under Antony Blinken. Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:21 And they should be prosecuted and in prison for child trafficking. Because he said they collaborated. They helped the child traffickers. I think an honest question is, where are the children? Where are the children? I mean, if this number is fake media, tell us why it's fake. Why is that a fake number? And where are these children? If they've come into the country, I mean, even if you put the trafficking argument aside, you've got to ask, where are these children?
Starting point is 00:08:56 Who has them? Where are they living? Are they alive? How do you know? You don't know. And so if what R.F.KK Jr. is saying here is accurate, then there was a unit, a department within the Health and Human Services that was helping along with the State Department, Border, you know,
Starting point is 00:09:19 Homeland Security in order to facilitate the transfer of 300,000 children to who knows where and who knows who doc I knew a former Georgia State Senator who came on this program many years ago. Yes, and she said that The Georgia Department of Child Services was involved in child trafficking. And I did the interview with her.
Starting point is 00:09:54 She was a state senator. And then one night she woke up dead. She was shot in her bed. Her husband was shot, too. But the official police story was that it was a suicide murder that her husband shot, shot his wife and then shot himself. I don't think so. I believe somebody entered their home and shot both of them.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Anybody that that traffics in children is obviously in a very dark side of the world and they're dangerous. I even remember back when I was living in Kansas in 1999-2000. Kansas they were directly accused of child sex trafficking. Yes, and you let's see and you had the Nebraska. Yes What was the this was under the first Bush administration I'm trying to remember the name of the scandal Anyhow, yeah, it's been going on for quite some time. But 300,000, that's a big number. That's a huge number. That, I mean, any number is high when it comes to child sex trafficking, but 300,000.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Because there's nobody stopping them now. There's no morality, nobody's stopping them. They can get away with anything. But I believe the Trump administration is going to go after these people. And this is why they'd like to kill Mr. Trump, which brings us to this next story. Tucker Carlson appeared on the Megyn Kelly podcast, and he said that it was Ukraine that tried to assassinate Donald Trump. Remember how fast the media said it was Iran? Yes. Iran was hunting down Donald
Starting point is 00:11:52 Trump. No, it was Ukraine. Oh and they they really tried to change the narrative and then when the story broke out that Ryan Ruth had visited Ukraine. Trying to buy weapons. Yes. Anyhow, this is Tucker Carlson was talking about Ryan Wesley Ruth, who was arrested after setting up a firing position with a rifle at the Trump golf course in West Palm Beach. And so this is what he told Megyn Kelly. Palm Beach. And so this is what he told Megyn Kelly. I don't know that they've been responsible for an assassination attempt on Donald Trump. I can't prove that. I think it's very obvious that the Ukrainians were involved in the attempted assassination on the golf course in Florida this fall. That guy definitely had some contact with
Starting point is 00:12:41 Ukraine for sure. Well, he was in Ukraine. He was in Ukraine. And he was asking them for ballistic missiles or rocket propelled grenades. Yes, that's exactly right. And I think there are others who were the target. I know for a fact there were others who were a target of assassination attempts by the Ukrainian government. It's a fact that elements of the Ukrainian government have tried to assassinate a bunch of people. And so there you go. And I think starting
Starting point is 00:13:12 with the now president, and I'm not exactly sure why we haven't gotten to the bottom of that. That's a great question. So what happened? Why haven't we gotten to the bottom of it? That's a great question. And so, why haven't we gotten to the bottom of it? And where have these stories gone? Right. Well, Donald Trump Jr. asked a great question with all the dealings that we've had with Ukraine over the past several months in negotiating this deal that's gone down. Donald Trump Jr. said, if you think it's bad that Ukraine never said thank you for everything the U.S. has done for them, the fact that they seemingly did not tell us that this sociopath, who he's
Starting point is 00:13:50 referring to Ryan Routh, literally tried to buy arms from Ukraine to assassinate my father seems like a much bigger deal. Wonder why? So I think it's because Ukraine probably was involved. They didn't want Donald Trump to become president, that's for sure. And the Trump family knows it. They know it. President Trump's really in a very difficult position because he's negotiating with Zelensky
Starting point is 00:14:22 and the Ukrainian government to settle the war and yet in the back of his mind. He knows you guys try to kill me Yes I've got to work with you people, but you're the ones who tried to kill me Also I saw this yesterday afternoon on X. James O'Keefe. Posted a very cryptic message on his X account. Let's watch it and then we'll learn more about what he was alluding to. I'm going dark. I'm not suicidal. Pray for me. This one scares me, guys.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Now, he's done quite a few investigative reports. He's been pretty fearless in those reports. What scares James O'Keefe, Rick? Being murdered? That's what scares you. Look, this job that he and I and others are doing, it's dangerous. The people that we're talking about are dark. They're sinister. They're murderers. People that murder babies,
Starting point is 00:15:54 children, have no problem murdering adults. We're dealing with a very dark force in this country in the world. And again, I believe it's one of the reasons the Holy Spirit's telling me, pull back. Just pull back. You've been in this long enough, you've been in too long, come back. All right, get out of it. It is a dangerous work to be in just remember how many months ago One of Alex Jones's reporters was murdered right that story just disappeared didn't it yes and now We're gonna learn in this next video
Starting point is 00:16:37 that one of of James O'Keefe reporters Investigators was threatened mr.Keefe's reporters, investigators was threatened. Mr. O'Keefe, his organization did a report several months ago about state farm insurance. Yes, they they did a, you know, a secret recording of a state farm insurance executive. And apparently, State Farm, somebody at State Farm is really upset at James O'Keefe. Let's watch this next video. We just found out that detectives have come to the home of one of
Starting point is 00:17:16 our undercover journalists. Apparently the vice president of State Farm has filed a criminal complaint. This just happened. We just found out that they went to the door of one of the homes of our undercover journalists. This is apparently over the State Farm insurance story that we did. The vice president of State Farm was fired from State Farm for what he said on hidden camera. This is apparently over the Illinois eavesdropping law, the anti-recording law, but we recorded this in a place where there's no expectation of privacy. This is a First Amendment issue. They're trying to intimidate my team.
Starting point is 00:17:54 We need a defense attorney in Cook County, Illinois. We're calling on all attorneys. Again, we need good lawyers to come to our defense. Please email us at legal at o'keithmediagroup.com. That's legal at o'keithmediagroup.com. L-E-G-A-L at o'keithmediagroup.com. We need lawyers who care. They're trying to intimidate us.
Starting point is 00:18:18 They're trying to scare our undercover journalists. We will have the backs of our reporters. We did not break the law. There's nothing wrong with what we did. This is a powerful insurance company. The vice president of State Farm filed a complaint, but we're going to have your backs undercover journalists. I'm going to have your back no matter what.
Starting point is 00:18:37 This is a developing story. Morrison. Cook County, Illinois. Oh, the citadel of morality. Yeah. And honesty. Yes. Wow. Well, we pray for James Keith and his his staff for God to protect them. Elon Musk, he's going to need some protection. He says Doge should examine the Federal Reserve renovation costs.
Starting point is 00:19:09 This is interesting. Billionaire Elon Musk said he is considering sending his government efficiency team to the Federal Reserve, citing a costly renovation of the Central Bank's Washington, D.C. headquarters as an example of potential government waste. It's quoted in the article as saying, since at the end of the day, this is all taxpayer money, I think we certainly, we should definitely look to see if indeed the Federal Reserve is spending $2.5 billion
Starting point is 00:19:35 on their interior designer. Elon Musk told reporters Wednesday at the White House, $2.5 billion for a remodel? Yes, and it's been going on for years, Doc. It's not like this is they just issued a contract for two and a half billion dollars. They have been working on their building for a number of years. And the renovation continues. And it's. Extremely over budget.
Starting point is 00:20:02 It's it's hit the two and a half billion dollar level now for renovation of a building. Renovation, not reconstruction. And how many government buildings are sitting empty in Washington right now? Exactly. Why not just move over into a building that has nobody in it? And Rick, when you think of renovation,
Starting point is 00:20:20 you think of we need new paint, we need new carpeting, we need new tile. But new carpeting we need new tile but two and a half billion dollars in a single building that's something that Elon's right something something's not right there think about how many new buildings you could construct with two and a half billion dollars yeah there's something I write but see that's where this this dark hole where this money just disappears and then it goes into some Subterranean bank account that nobody can monitor and that becomes The dark money that circulates around the world and finances bad things in the world
Starting point is 00:21:00 While we're talking about bad things in the world, Sam Altman and his eyeball scanning project pretty bad thing. Sam Altman's digital ID project world, that's the name of it, has launched in the US making its controversial iris scanning technology and cryptocurrency token available nationwide here in the US as Donald Trump's administration embraces the digital asset sector. Announcing the U.S. rollout, Altman said, I'm a very proud American. I think America should lead innovation, not fight it off.
Starting point is 00:21:33 World's technology, he added, was a way to make sure humans remained central and special in a world where the internet had a lot of AI driven content. World, once again, that's the name of the company manufactures eyeball scanning orbs that generate unique IDs, which can be used to access the group's WorldCoin token. The spherical devices are roughly the size of a basketball, but World is working on handheld models
Starting point is 00:22:01 and wants to eventually integrate the technology directly into web cameras or mobile devices. Now the group aims to build as many as 10,000 orbs for the U.S. market within the next 12 months, roughly five times its current global supply. It's building a new factory in Richardson, Texas to assemble these orbs. And if we could put the Financial Times back up on the screen, just look at that thing. Now, talk of three years ago, I said to you. I was just getting ready to do the same thing, Rick.
Starting point is 00:22:33 There's gonna be a factory that mass produces eyeball scanning orbs. And it's gonna be in Texas. Of all places, Can you believe it? Texas is doing it. And Rick, I'm sorry to bring this every time we do this story on these orbs. I just think of that scary movie from the 70s called Phantasm, where you had this big giant orb but had knives sticking out of it and chasing you.
Starting point is 00:23:00 It scared me. I saw it at a drive-in with my folks and scared me to death And that's what I think of every time it chased me down with some knives So what's the purpose of this or? To scan your eyeballs. What is mr. Altman? Projecting is going to be done with all these eyeballs Well, I'm talking about the eyeballs that they scan in human eyeballs. What is the end result? What's the product? What's the service that he's going to offer? You? That's the product he's going to offer is you you and your
Starting point is 00:23:36 identity. Yes, you're it's your identity. So he he believes that we're going into a new phase, where you will have to verify your identity to access the internet, to use ATMs, to use government services. To do financial transactions like operating crypto coins. Yes, and he wants to be the The depository of all the eyeballs And what does the Bible say doc
Starting point is 00:24:22 Revelation chapter 13 verses 16 17 and he caused us all both small and great rich and poor free and bond To receive a mark in the right hand or in their forehead where your eyes reside, and that no man might by yourself save he that had the mark or the name of the beast or the number of his name." Rick, you can't get more obvious than these things. One way or another, Satan has a plan to mark everybody. But God has a plan to mark everyone as well. And so, stay alert everyone.
Starting point is 00:24:51 The world is moving fast here. It is. Doc, the White House today unveiled what's called the White House Wire. It's a news service that looks just like the Drudge Report. Yes. So, I don't know if we can bring this up on screen or not guys. So the White House Wire website is up and running and it has a format much like the Drudge Report as Rick said. In fact, it looks like almost a carbon copy of the Drudge Report. And so... But they want this to become the go-to website for millions of Americans.
Starting point is 00:25:31 That if you want to know present, there it is, you want to know the Trump White House viewpoint of what's important news today, go to White House wire. It does look like the Drudge Report. and I think this is actually a smart move and it they have the opportunity to Put out the stories and it's not exclusively You know from a single outlet or anything like that, but it's like the Drudge Report. Yeah, it's innovative Yes, White House getting the I mean the White House website has had press releases there for decades. But nothing quite like this. I think that was a compilation of stories regarding the White House and the President. I think it's a smart move myself.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Yes it is. It's very good. It's very good. Now here in Florida, Governor DeSantis is asking the Trump administration to allow the Florida National Guard members to be sworn in as U.S. immigration judges. Yes. So Governor Ron DeSantis spoke Thursday on the state's progress in working with the Trump administration to round up illegal aliens in Florida. Now the governor said that Florida has submitted plans to the Department of Homeland Security to allow Florida National Guard members to serve as immigration judges to hasten the deportation process. We have a video clip from Florida Voice News that tells more about this. So we have both a National Guard and a State Guard who are used to responding to different types of contingencies. We're ready, willing and able to take it to the next level. We have submitted plans to DHS to say, you know, if this is approved, we will go off to the races and we will be able to do really from soup to say, if this is approved, we will go off to the races, and we will be able to do really from soup to nuts,
Starting point is 00:27:28 from apprehension to detention, even putting some of our people in the National Guard in line to be, serve as immigration judges to process this. We can do it. And I'd also say you hear a lot about due process. We have tens of thousands of illegal aliens in Florida at a minimum that have already been issued final orders of removal. And there's hundreds of thousands of them throughout the United States of America.
Starting point is 00:27:56 So they've had a lot of process. They've been ordered to be removed. They have not complied with those removal orders. And that's a very, very high priority for our state efforts to continue to identify those individuals and make sure that they return to their country of origin. Well, Doc, what's your point of view? Well, I mean, I'm all in favor of getting illegal aliens out of the country, especially violent criminals and people that have already received deportation orders. But I'm, I'm hesitant, or I feel a little queasy. How
Starting point is 00:28:32 about that? I feel a little queasy about bringing the military into the equation as judges, right? Where does it end? I mean, if we can make it for, you know, for immigration issues, what if there was a time in the near future where the current president or future president would say, well, your speech, the things you say, need to be judged as well. You might be in violation of a hate crime by what you say? Well, excuse me, under martial law, all courts would be military tribunals. That's true.
Starting point is 00:29:12 So it's actually a step. Is this a foot in the door for that to happen? It's a unique proposal and it ought to be debated, not necessarily opposed right away, but it ought to be debated. It is a very unique idea of how to apprehend illegal immigrants in the state of Florida who have orders to leave. Now there are units in the National Guard in Florida that are with the Judge Advocate General's Office.
Starting point is 00:29:48 So they, what do they do? They deal with legal items all the time, but specifically as it relates to military members and to the process involved with them, not external. And so I'm just a bit uneasy on this. And, you know, but I'm, I still, I want people that aren't supposed to be here to be out of the country. I think, I think the leftist judges are forcing conservative government officials to be innovative
Starting point is 00:30:21 in how to get the job done. Mike Waltz, this is reported by Bloomberg today, to depart the job of national security advisor. Earlier today, it looked like he was fired. Right, and see how the headline words that. Yes, that was my- He's out after chat controversy. Right.
Starting point is 00:30:46 This gives you that the thing with a signal. But it turns out that he wasn't fired. He was given another job. Yes. So the Hill is reporting that President Trump has appointed Mike Watz as UN ambassador and Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been appointed national security adviser in addition to being secretary of state. He's got two jobs now.
Starting point is 00:31:13 What an emotional swing this is today. Right, Rick? I mean, earlier today, it looked like, wow, Mike, Mike Waltz was out. You know, as you see, that signal chat really cost him his job. And then I am just before we came on air here, you found this article by the Hill. And it was like, what? I had to do a double take when I saw it. So well, it is a little both he did get the he was removed, but he wasn't removed from the administration, right? It's just
Starting point is 00:31:42 removed from the job. And he may have he may have requested it. We don't know. He may have said, Hey, I've got an idea, Mr. President, get you out of this mess that I caused. And the president said, Sure, let's do it. Or somebody in the White House came up with this idea. We got to get Mike Waltz out of National Security Council, but we don't want to lose him. Right. And so he is going to be the UN ambassador. But the surprising thing is Marco Rubio being appointed to run the National Security Council
Starting point is 00:32:15 along with running the State Department. Now, Marco Rubio is super powerful in the Trump administration and world leaders will recognize that. Hey, this guy, this Secretary of State, he also makes recommendations about war. Yes. So that will carry weight around the world. Now this is a really stunning news today because there were other people that were being whose names are being floated around on various media outlets like Whitcoff and Miller and Sebastian Gorka for UNL for National Security here and so
Starting point is 00:32:58 But the surprise of course now is Mike waltz UN ambassador But of course he has to go through Senate confirmation yet, which he won't have a problem with that. Everybody will love him for that position. And Mr. Rubio, his appointment to the National Security Council is temporary. Yes. So I read that as they haven't decided yet who the permanent nominee will be. So they're asking Marco Rubio to run the department until Mr. Trump decides on who he wants to be national security advisor. Remember, the first Trump administration, his national security advisor was General Michael Flynn.
Starting point is 00:33:35 Yes. And the deep state took him out in days. Yes. They went after him fast. And his name was also being floated as coming back into the administration. I got surprised they didn't do that. That would have gone over well with the Trump voter base. Let's take a look at Ukraine.
Starting point is 00:33:56 We've got a lot of movement in Ukraine. Fox News, Vice President Vance previews President Trump's plans to juice the economy and end the Russia-Ukraine war in the next 100 days. Now, that's what I want you to see. Right. Suddenly, during the campaign, he was going to end the war in one day. Well, I think everybody knew that wasn't going to happen. 24 hours.
Starting point is 00:34:21 Yes, what he said. So here we are now. what's going to happen. 24 hours. Yes, what he said. So here we are now. We're past the 100 day mark. And we don't even have a ceasefire. And now we're being told we're going to negotiate.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Some kind of deal in the next 100 days. So we're looking at May, June, July, sometime in August. Yes. So the war is going to go on at least until the end of the summer. Well, Wall Street Journal, Ukraine and the U.S. signed an economic deal for minerals. So they finally put the ink on the document. Right. So this was late yesterday. the Trump administration reached a deal with Ukraine granting the U.S. access to its mineral wealth, resolving last minute haggling that had delayed an agreement President Trump sought to obtain compensation for helping Ukraine resist Russia's
Starting point is 00:35:20 invasion. Treasury Secretary Scott Bissett hailed the deal as a step toward a negotiated end to the war in Ukraine and the beginning of the country's reconstruction. In tightly controlled negotiations, the Trump administration dropped its insistence that the agreement allow Washington to recoup billions of dollars of past military aid. You see that, Rick? Yes, I did.
Starting point is 00:35:42 We're not gonna get our money back. The US government is not going to get its money back. And the minerals will be I would guess they're going to be to the benefit of US corporations. But there's no money going in the Treasury, at least from what we're reading right now. There were other concessions. The U.S. will not stop Ukraine from joining the European Union. And also the official language of the agreement said that the war was started by Russia, that it was a full-scale invasion by Russia into Ukraine.
Starting point is 00:36:28 So that means the Trump administration has officially taken the side that it was the war is the fault of Russia. Now the next story, New York Post, President Trump says he could join the Ukraine side. Yeah, you know why? post, President Trump says he could join the Ukraine side. Yeah, you know why? Got a deal. Yes, he's got the minerals now. Yep.
Starting point is 00:36:54 So he's swinging. Mr. President, these are the people that tried to kill you. Remember that? Remember, these are the people that wanted to assassinate you. So President Trump revealed that he's open to favoring Ukraine in its war with Russia, despite his qualms with President Zelensky while Vice President Vance bluntly assessed that Kiev can't win the fight on its own trajectory. President Trump was asked during a wide ranging interview with the Atlantic magazine whether there was anything Russian tyrant Putin could do
Starting point is 00:37:30 that would cause you to say you know what I'm on Zelensky side now. Mr. Trump said not necessarily on Zelensky side but on Ukraine's side yes but not necessarily on Zelensky's side. I've had a hard time with Zelensky. You saw that over here talking about when he was sitting in right here in that chair when he just couldn't get it. The president was also coy when asked whether he would ever show full blown support for Ukraine by sending additional weapons packages.
Starting point is 00:38:06 He said, quote, doesn't have to be weapons. There are many forms of weapons. It can be weapons with sanctions. It can be weapons with banking. It can be many other weapons. So now that takes us to the next story. Bloomberg. Lindsey Graham says he has broad Senate support
Starting point is 00:38:27 for new Russian sanctions. I'm telling you, Rick, once they got the mineral deal, the whole thing has changed, hasn't it? It has, and Mr. Trump is being led by the nose, what appears to be that he's being led by the nose, by the warmongers, and if he's not careful, we're going to end up in a nuclear war with Russia. Just like the Trump, I mean, just like the Biden administration was taking us. This is not a good move, folks.
Starting point is 00:38:54 This is not good. I'm telling you right now, this is not a good change in the course of the way things were going between the negotiations between the United States and Russia. It's now taking a negative turn. Don't like it. And it's all because of greed. They're dangling the Minerals deal. Yes, it's the greed. And it, you know, Mr.
Starting point is 00:39:26 Trump is seeing dollar bill signs in his eyes. Don't like it. So anyhow, this is Lindsey Graham says he has a commitment of 72 senators to pass a bill that he said would be would enact bone crushing sanctions on Russia and tariffs on any country that buys Russian oil, gas or other products. Grant is such.
Starting point is 00:40:01 Doc, what is it that drives this man to promote war? What is it that drives this man to promote war? What is it? I just, the only thing I can think of, Rick, is just as pure blood lust for war. According to a draft of the bill proposed by Graham, the punishments would include a 500% tariff on imports from countries that buy Russian oil, petroleum products, natural gas or uranium. Other sanctions would prohibit U.S. citizens from buying Russian sovereign debt as well.
Starting point is 00:40:32 So any country out there that's not involved in the Ukraine War at all, they're just buying stuff from Russia. The U.S. would put a 500% tariff on their goods coming into the USA. So, now there's natural gas coming into Europe from Russia right now. With pipelines going through Ukraine. So are we going to put a 500% tariff on Poland, Romania, if they have, you know, if they use Russian natural gas or Russian petroleum. I don't know how far we're going to go with this.
Starting point is 00:41:11 I don't know. But they're talking he's calling it bone crushing. Well, Mr. Putin may have some bone crushing ideas of his own. UK Sun Sun newspaper, Russia fires back at Trump's mineral deal as Vlad's right-hand man vows Ukraine will disappear. That's Dmitry Medvedov. And we've got his post. I read it early this morning and went, oh boy, here we go again.
Starting point is 00:41:41 As Dmitry is not in a good mood about Mr. Trump. It was looking pretty good there for a couple of months. Now he's turned sour. Let's read what Mr. Medvedev posted today. Yes. So this is Demetri Medvedev. He says, if the U.S.
Starting point is 00:41:56 had an award for violent labor, its current president could become its recipient for the first hundred days of work and especially for starting the tariff battle. At the same time, the hammer and sickle of his tariffs are directed against everyone and everything. Always has a turn of phrase there. Close neighbors are suffering. Degenerates and foggy Albion are crying and crazy old lady Europe is furious. They are not having an easy time at all.
Starting point is 00:42:23 They have to go bow down to make a ritual deal code name. And then in the south of Europe, the lights went out, close neighbors and it goes on to say that again there. So China however has its own resources and a gigantic domestic market and therefore its economy will certainly withstand any pressure. Here President Trump made a mistake. We almost never trade with America, he says, and the new brutal tariffs do not apply to us.
Starting point is 00:42:55 They make no sense when there are illegal restrictive measures of which there are already 30,000. But President Trump has finally broken the Kiev regime into paying for American aid with minerals. Now they will have to pay for military supplies with the national wealth of a disappearing country. And the U.S. Senate, led by Republicans, is preparing to introduce more crushing sanctions against us.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Let's see how the new administration responds. Trump's ratings have gone down and the deep state is putting up fierce resistance to him. And he goes on to say May is starting off stormy and not peacefully at all. Victory Day is still ahead. Happy holidays. Happy May Day. And today is May the 1st, May Day, of course. And so International Labor Day, or as I say, International Communism Day.
Starting point is 00:43:46 But what do you think of Mr. Menvede's remarks there, Rick? Well, Doc, the tone has changed. And I think the Russians are now saying they're giving up hope on Donald Trump. I think they're going to go back to their position that they were in with the US during the Biden years. I think we're going to, I think, I think probably within the next two weeks, you're going to hear Mr. Putin or Sergey Lavrov or Dmitry Medvedev or Sergey Shagoo talk about the hypersonic missiles. I think that's gonna come up in a conversation very soon.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Like maybe we should demonstrate what the hypersonics can do. And yet over here we're saying, we're gonna end this war in 100 days. Another 100 days. We're now talking 200 days. Mr. Trump promised in the campaign one day. We're now saying 200 days. And it doesn't look like it's going to be anything the Russians are going to accept. And it looks like it looks like Mr. Trump's like, well, I got what I was after. I got the minerals. And I'll tell the Russians what they can do.
Starting point is 00:45:09 I've got what I want. Yes, he he's won the deal. Yes, that's the way he sees it. And and now the Russians are going to have to respond to that that attitude. So not good. Let's talk about India and Pakistan. So there's still shooting going on at the border at the line of control.
Starting point is 00:45:30 There's Indian troops and PAK troops are still shooting at each other, but nothing major has happened yet. The defense minister of Pakistan said we won't you know, we won't act first, but if India does anything, we will give them everything that we've got. So both sides seem to be, they're fighting, and yet it's restrained. How long that is gonna last, I don't know. But I gotta show you one of these videos because I've seen these in the past.
Starting point is 00:46:07 And you think, man, this is better than a. Going to a show. Yes. All right. So you have at the border, you have. You have Pakistan. Peacocks and Indian peacocks strutting along the border, trying to intimidate each other with the most extreme motions and actions that you can imagine between soldiers. And they actually draw crowds.
Starting point is 00:46:39 They draw crowds. And it's like watching peacocks strut, you know, showing their feathers. So let's watch. This is Indian and Pakistan soldiers at the border. It's like a Madison Square Garden. Yeah, Rick, if only all wars could be solved with a Michael Jackson dance off. Be a lot easier, wouldn't it? Hey, I mentioned yesterday that American reserves now has potassium iodide tablets. And so in a nuclear emergency, every second counts and your thyroid needs protection. That's the purpose of these tablets. Now you do not take these tablets as a preventive
Starting point is 00:47:58 measure like you know, like you take vitamins every day. No, this is like only if there's a release of radiation and you've got to get potassium iodide in your body immediately to protect your thyroid. So now American Reserves now is offering 130 milligrams of potassium iodide tablets and third party testing for purity has been done. These products made in the USA. And these tablets are a must have in your go bag. You should have these.
Starting point is 00:48:36 You should have them in your home, in your emergency kit. Don't wait for the sirens. Don't wait until you wake up and discover that while you were sleeping for seven or eight hours, nuclear bombs exploded in Pakistan and India and the radiation has drifted across the ocean in the atmosphere. Don't wait because this is exactly what could happen. You've got to have you've got to have these these tablets in your possession. And, you know, and there's a shelf life on them.
Starting point is 00:49:12 If you bought tablets decades ago and you think, well, I got them. Those things are expired. Yes. Yes. You need to have fresh tablets. So go to American Reserves, order now because let me tell you the first nuke that goes off like an Indian Pakistan. These things and every every company that offers them, they'll be sold out in minutes in minutes because there will be panic like you've never seen before when a real nuclear war erupts.
Starting point is 00:49:44 So American reserves dot com potassium iodide tablets. Now let's do the Gold Co. report for the last time. I hated calling the good folks at Gold Co. and telling them that we were going to put true news to bed. They were disappointed and I just had to explain, I'm tired, I can't do this anymore. I've done it long enough, 26 years, but this is my last Gold Co. promotion with True News. I might do something later. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:50:27 For a while, I just need, I just need a rest myself. But here's Financial Times. McDonald's, U.S. sales drop by the most since the height of the coronavirus pandemic. Yes. So McDonald's has posted its biggest drop in U.S. sales since the height of the COVID-19
Starting point is 00:50:45 pandemic five years ago, as uncertainty caused by President Donald Trump's tariffs weighs heavily on consumer sentiment. Now, same store sales in its home market fell 3.6 percent on year in the quarter that ended in March, driven mainly by lower customer numbers. The world's biggest burger chain said in results on Thursday. Now McDonald's chief executive Chris Kapsinski said in a statement that consumers today are grappling with uncertainty. Later on in a call with analysts he noted that geopolitical tensions added to the uncertainty and dappled consumers sentiment more than we expected. He added, we're not immune to the volatile volatility in the industry or the pressures that our consumers are facing. Now, Rick,
Starting point is 00:51:33 I know you've been doing this for 26, 27 years. When you see a story like this, what is it really communicating to you about what's going on out there? The market is tightening. Yes. The economy is slowing down. For average middle class, lower middle class consumers. That's right.
Starting point is 00:51:55 And so, Doc, the article from Financial Times says, uncertainty caused by President Donald Trump's tariffs are weighing heavily on consumer sentiment. Seriously, seriously, you telling me that a family driving past a McDonald's and the little kids are saying, I'm hungry, Mom, I'm hungry, Daddy, I'd like to have a hamburger. And Dad's thinking, and he looks over at his wife and goes, you know I'm really concerned about the Trump tariffs and I don't think that we're gonna stop today because those tariffs could affect us later I don't think I'm gonna do no. I'll tell you why he's not stopping. Yes, or why mom's not pulling in there She didn't have any money in her purse. That's right. That's why and it's and it's the effect of Everything going up not just McDonald everything her purse. That's right. That's why. And it's the effect of
Starting point is 00:52:51 everything going up, not just McDonald's, everything. I don't know if I said this to you the other day, down the street here from our office is a wonderful Thai restaurant, love Thai food. And they've, they've had a very nice lunch special and there's about 10 items on that lunch special for $11. It's a nice meal. I actually split it in half and make two meals out of it. And so to me I'm like, okay, that's $5.50 for a meal. I got two meals out of this. And so anyhow, I've been buying, but this year, I've cut back a lot since beginning of the year. I have cut back a lot.
Starting point is 00:53:36 I barely go out anywhere. So it's been a couple months since I just walked a block down the street to the Thai restaurant for lunch. But the other day I decided, you know, I'm going to go get Thai today. And I opened up their menu and they had marked out $11 and with a Blackmagic marker had marked in $15. That's not a small jump. It went from $11 to $15. That's not a small jump. It went from 11 to 15. That's a 33% increase in price. Doc, at this point, I mean, I maybe others can't spend $15 for
Starting point is 00:54:18 lunch. No, who can Rick? Who can? Nobody used to be a dinner price. You used to pay $15 at a restaurant for dinner. Now it's lunch? And this is the lunch special? Right. And McDonald's, getting back to McDonald's here,
Starting point is 00:54:34 McDonald's value meal, they have it priced at the low end at $5. A burger, small fries, and a drink. That's a value meal now. But they're only doing that as a promotion at the moment. But what the CEO of McDonald's said is, it's not just a matter of sales, but we have fewer customers coming to McDonald's. Yes. So they're making mental choices, I can't afford a $5 value meal. Yes, because everything else has gone up. And it's not that they're just being hit by McDonald's.
Starting point is 00:55:10 They're like, every place I go, the prices are up. Yes. Speaking of the value meal of $5, when I was a child and McDonald's had just started and they were in Washington, DC, My dad actually drove our family 90 miles to see a McDonald's. Dr. Israel. He took us on a weekend said I want to show you this new restaurant. It was a McDonald's. His first one opened in Washington, DC.
Starting point is 00:55:43 Because hey, that's where Ronald McDonald came from. He started that was Willard Scott who was also Boza the Clown over WRC TV in Washington DC then became the NBC weather forecaster. But anyhow in the 60s in the early 60s a value meal and they didn't call it at that time, but it was a hamburger a small order of fries and a milkshake Was 45 cents Wow, that's incredible 15 cents for each item Now you don't get the milkshake. You just get a soft drink. It is five bucks, right what happened Did everything go up? Yes, but really what happened is the dollar went down.
Starting point is 00:56:29 That's right. And that's why I'm talking about Gold Co. Because the price of gold is actually not climbing. It's the price of, the value of the dollar is declining. Yes, in relation to gold. That's the reason you buy gold, to preserve your wealth. Not to make wealth, but to preserve your wealth. You don't buy gold to say, hey, I'm going to make a lot of money on this. No, you're buying this gold to preserve the
Starting point is 00:56:55 money that you have, so it's not eaten up by inflation. So, my last call here on True News for Gold Co. Their number is 844-960-GOLD. 844-960-GOLD. Tell them you heard this on True News and they will answer your questions about how to develop a gold portfolio. How to move your retirement account over into precious metals. Wall Street Journal home builders are piling on discounts as they struggle to entice buyers.
Starting point is 00:57:34 That's right. So the spring buying season when builders make close to 40% of their annual sales, Rick is almost halfway over, and based on earnings released by listed builders, demand has been disappointing. America's most prominent builder, D.R. Horton, said revenue fell 15% in its latest quarter compared with a year ago, while Pulte Group's sales dropped 2%. Now, this is before the pain of tariffs has really felt.
Starting point is 00:58:03 They haven't really kicked in yet. Builder LGI Homes said this week that its suppliers sent notice that they plan to raise prices soon for some components imported from China. Builders rely on Chinese manufacturers for white goods, parts for heating and ventilation systems and porcelain fittings. D.R. Horton and Lennar told investors that their building materials providers are holding fire for now, but they expect import levies to push up construction costs later this year. Now, builders think new home prices will rise by anywhere from five to fifteen thousand dollars due
Starting point is 00:58:36 to the trade war and the timing is terrible. Affordability is already so stretched that builders have been offering sweeteners, including mortgage rate buy downs, price cuts, and design upgrades to get deals over the line. The number of completed but unsold new homes on their lots has reached the highest since 2009. Now, Rick, that explains why we've seen this rush at building here over the past couple months here in Florida. Yes, they're trying to get things built before supplies dry up. Right. So, and we're seeing it. We're seeing a lot of homes going up. And, but
Starting point is 00:59:16 now they're going up, but they're staying empty. Yes. They can't, they can't get consumers to get into the market. And so this is a going to be a very tricky situation to navigate over the next few months if you're a potential home buyer. That's right. CNBC says the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has Trump for tariff exclusions to stave off a recession. I'm not going to go into the article. They sent a letter to the White House pleading for relief from the tariffs. The thing that I want you to understand is that we are, we, the United States, I believe
Starting point is 00:59:55 we are moving into a very, very difficult financial time. As the months go by, as we get into the late fall, things are gonna really tighten up because you're gonna have shortages from the trade war. There will be businesses starting to slow down. There will be layoffs. And there's gonna be disruptions in the economy. And we don't know what the what the Chinese are going to do.
Starting point is 01:00:29 They may be holding a little secret weapon, a financial secret weapon that they're they're going to release later. We don't know. I just know that the experts in cycles that I have followed for 26 years, they are saying some of them are using the D word, depression for 2026. Harry Dent's predicting like an 85% drop in the stock market. Charles Nenner, who cut his teeth as a cycles expert for Goldman Sachs before he left Goldman Sachs
Starting point is 01:01:09 to start his own consulting firm. He is he's forecasting a severe financial crash next year, starting starting this year later this year. There are others who are also sounding the alarm. And this is leading, it's leading us towards war, whether it's civil war or war with China. That's basically about the same thing, because China would like to get a civil war going inside the USA. So I'm telling you these things as we get ready to close True News that I have been warning of these things for two and a half decades, trying to get people to be prepared.
Starting point is 01:01:59 The most important thing for you to do is to stockpile the Word of God in your heart and to build up your faith and to know how to trust God. Don't wait to the last minute to learn how to trust God. Start now. And my heartfelt recommendation is step up your giving, step up your faith offerings to the work of God that souls be saved. It's really important that you're giving to ministries teaching the word and saving souls. Step up your giving and if you're not doing any giving, you've got to begin giving. Give with faith You're giving faith you're giving gifts to the work of God in faith that the Lord
Starting point is 01:02:50 Will bless the portion that you keep I? Don't know how this works. I just know it works You take from the blessings He gives you and you give by faith to his works and then the portion that you keep somehow gets bigger. And you're able to do more with less. How does that work? Well, one way you get deals, amazing deals, a favor comes to you, just good things happen. And it's the favor of God on your life. And when others are losing their job,
Starting point is 01:03:35 somehow you're keeping your job. And people are going, I don't know how that worked. Everybody else at our place lost their job, but this one kept his job. She stayed on because God's favor is on you. Or if you do lose your job, moving you to another location where you're going to be blessed. You have to have this trust, this peace that you're resting in God. You're resting in his provision. He's going to take care of you. And so tomorrow's our last day as true news. That is not our last day podcasting. We will be here
Starting point is 01:04:15 Monday, but it will be the good news. The Lord is telling me to focus on feeding you His word. Lord is telling me to focus on feeding you His word. That's what you need. You don't need any more of this bad news. I'm actually hurting you by giving you this stuff. It's reached a point where it's not it's not to your benefit. It certainly hasn't it's not to my benefit anymore emotionally mentally psychologically. It's having a detrimental effect on me. I have felt it for the last several years,
Starting point is 01:04:49 like I got to get out of this. I can't keep doing this. And those of you who are deep into news all day long, it's having a negative impact on you, whether you recognize it or not, you pull back. This is what I'm doing. I'm pulling out saying to you do the same thing. Pull back. Get away from the news. It's not helping you at this point. It's hurting you. Get into the word of God. That's what you need more than anything else. You need the word of God. And so we'll be here. We'll be here tomorrow for the final True News and then we'll be here Monday for Morning Manna and all of our effort is going to go into teaching the Word of God.
Starting point is 01:05:31 And then we've got plans for a Bible school for children. We're just going to have a different focus. For all these years, the news has been the priority and the Word of God has been secondary and the Lord told me to stop that, to eliminate the news and make His Word the priority. That true news had outlived its usefulness to the Lord. He was pleased with what we did, but he said, it's done. Now put it aside and see who comes with you. You know, Doc, in the natural, in my natural mind, I have no idea who's gonna stay with me next week. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:06:22 A lot of people could desert us. I don't know. A lot of people could desert us. I don't know. But by faith, by faith, I know the Lord will take care of this ministry. Because every donor could leave except one. And it could be the one that finances us for a year. And who is that, Rick? Our Heavenly Father. Our Heavenly Father. But he could use one human to finance us for one year. So it's not the number of donors, it's just the number that you need is one. The Holy One. And He will find a way to get the finances to us as a ministry.
Starting point is 01:07:04 He'll find a way to get the money to you as a ministry. He'll find the way to get the money to you That's what I'm trying to teach you. He will get money to you if you're working with him For his purposes. He'll work with you for your purposes so I've got more news, but I don't think I want to talk about it. Doc, I noticed the other night watching Fox News that one of the one of the main shows has now added an animal video feature at the end of the show. Hmm.
Starting point is 01:07:41 I wonder. One of these shows that are in prime time. Yeah. Could somebody at Fox News be watching True News and say, Hey, that's a good idea. Let's put an animal video in every night. People like that. So I'm glad because I like animals. So we got a, we got now, now we're at the place people are sending us
Starting point is 01:08:07 animal videos. So this came from Brian, Brian Vasinti. He knows I like bear videos, Russian bear videos. Again, what is wrong with these Russian people? Well, Rick, if you got a bear that'll let you feed it and everything and won't eat you And shake your hand. That's right It's just a big teddy bear You put your whole head in there Instead he's settling for a Scooby snack, so wow They're friends. They're friends, aren't they? That's a little bit much for you. And then we have another video of a man feeding a
Starting point is 01:08:50 pear to a bear. A pear for a bear. And so look at that. And that, oh he, and he will really enjoy it here in just a second there. Just, I just kind of think about my head in those jaws there. Crushing your skull. But hey, God's creation and still, you know that that bear could take you apart limb from limb and yet. It's settled for a pair. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:22 It's happy just to get a pair, you know? Yeah, so thank you Brian Appreciate you sending those videos. So anyhow folks. This is our last last news Program tomorrow is just a farewell I don't not gonna give any headlines unless Unless there's a nuclear war going on, but why do I have to give you headlines then you really need the word so there's a nuclear war going on, but why do I have to give you headlines? Then you really need the word. So tune in tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:09:49 We're going to say goodbye for true news. But again, I want to repeat, we are not quitting. I'm not retiring. Please do not think I quit or I retired. I am I'm getting more excited than ever about expanding morning manna as a Bible teaching podcast And so that's our new focus and I I hope and I pray that you stay with us and Continue to support us. You need to be involved with a ministry as as
Starting point is 01:10:22 The season grows darker folks follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. This ministry is making a major course correction. Follow it. Okay, be attentive, pay attention. Wow. That ministry after 26 years is making an extreme change. Maybe I should pay attention. That's the message I want you to get.
Starting point is 01:10:49 Wake up, pay attention, okay? We'll see you tomorrow, God bless. God bless you. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 01:10:59 Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. You don't have to think the world is ending tomorrow to be realistic.

Starting point is 01:11:49 Good morning everybody, welcome to Morning Manna and today we start the 14th chapter of the book of Romans. We're going to be looking at verses 1 through 12. I don't know if we'll get to all 12 verses, that's a lot for one session, but I'm going to do my best and we're going to pray and then Doc's going to read the scriptures and then we will begin our study of Romans 14 verses 1 through 12. Almighty God, our heavenly Father, Father, we are so grateful Father, we are so grateful to be alive and to be forgiven and to be in your family. None of us, none of us, none of us deserve it. Not one person. Not one person is better than another person. Not one person is better than another person. We all deserve damnation.
Starting point is 01:12:52 But you're too good, you're too kind, and you have made a way for sinners to be saved, to be forgiven. And that way is your Son Jesus Christ. And we are gathered here today, Father, to study Him because your Word and your Son are one and the same. The Word was made flesh. So Father, we ask for the Holy Spirit's anointing upon Dock and me to teach Your Word, and Your blessing upon the class to receive the Word. Yes. So come, Holy Spirit, and teach through two flawed vessels to a group of flawed students
Starting point is 01:13:42 about the One who is perfect and sinless, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen. Amen. Well, praise the Lord. We are glad to have you here with us for morning manna. I send greetings to you in Brazil, Philippines, Japan, Russia, Switzerland, and all over the continental United States and Canada. God bless you. We love you. Thank you for joining us today. We are in Roman chapter 14. So if you have your Bibles, let's go ahead and get into our study today. Jump right into this. As Paul continues his teaching on being good Christians in a bad world. And so chapter 14 here, starting at verse one,
Starting point is 01:14:23 I'm reading with the King James. Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. For one believeth that he may eat all things, another who is weak eateth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not. And let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth, for God hath received him.
Starting point is 01:14:46 Who art thou that judges another man's servant? To his own master he standeth or followeth, yea, he shall be holding up, for God is able to make him stand. One man esteemeth one day above another, another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day regardeth it unto the Lord, and he that regardeth not the day to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks, and he that eateth not to the Lord he eateth not, and giveeth God thanks. For none of us live to himself and no man dies to himself. Whether we live, we live unto the Lord. Whether we die, we die unto the Lord.
Starting point is 01:15:32 Whether we live therefore or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end, Christ both died and rose and revived that he might be Lord both of the dead and the living. But why does thou judge thy brother? Or why does thou set it not thy brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, as I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me and every tongue confess to God.
Starting point is 01:16:06 So then every one of us shall give an account of himself to God. God bless the reading of his work. Amen. Romans 14, 1, now accept the one who is weak in faith but not for disputes over opinions. That's the modern English. King James, him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. So Paul is now introducing to the Roman church, or I should say the church in Rome. should say the church in Rome. He's introducing to the church in Rome. See, the church in Rome should be the same as the church in Jerusalem and the church in Moscow
Starting point is 01:16:55 and the church in New York and the church everywhere. It ought to be the church. Right. So he's introducing to the church in Rome a teaching on unity in the body of Christ. And he's urging believers to accept those weak in faith without engaging them in divisive arguments. divisive arguments to receive the weak. He's emphasizing the role of love in fostering unity. We talked about it yesterday in chapter 13. And so he's saying, if you love your brothers and sisters, you're not going to argue with them
Starting point is 01:17:49 You're not going to debate and start strife yes, if somebody has a different opinion And their faith is weak Don't berate them don't browbeat them Don't let them know how much you know about the faith. Just receive them. Receive them in love and embrace them. So, weak in faith, it has different connotations here. Receive the weak. You can interpret it as a weakness in physical strength in body. It's also can be weakness in the mind, in the conscience.
Starting point is 01:18:47 I personally think he's saying those who have very tender, sensitive consciences. Right. Such as maybe a new believer or someone that has come out of some sort of heretical cult or something like that. Someone that's weak in faith or someone that really they may be 80 years old but they're still a baby in their faith. And so be understanding and embrace them and affirm them and help them grow. and embrace them and affirm them and help them grow. Don't get involved in arguments. Yes.
Starting point is 01:19:30 He said, avoid doubtful disputations. Well, there again, disputation, that's a word that we seldom use today. It's what the King James used. The Greek word is diakresis, and it means discernment, distinguishing, judgment, deciding, passing judgment, passing sentence, the act of judgment. Right. And then the second word disputations, doubtful
Starting point is 01:20:11 disputations, okay, is diaogamous. It's where we get the word dialogue. Yes, dialogue, the alchemist, reasoning, thought, argument, debate, doubt, calculation, movement of thought, deliberation. So the King James language of doubtful disputation means avoid passing judgment on somebody else's opinion. Right. That's what it means. You're not the church cop. And you know, every church has cops in them.
Starting point is 01:21:04 And I don't mean law enforcement officers. Every church has religious police officers who go through the congregation trying to enforce their version of the law. And so Paul's saying, be kind, be loving. If you encounter someone that is weak in their faith, either like Doc said, a baby Christian, a new Christian, or somebody that just has not matured in the knowledge of the word, be kind to them. Be respectful, be understanding.
Starting point is 01:21:52 Don't pass judgment on their opinions. You know, unless their opinion is so contradictory to the word of God, you know, I mean, if they reject the basic tenets of the Christian faith, like the virgin birth, I mean, if they reject the basic tenets of the Christian faith, like the virgin birth, I mean, that's what you have to say, well, wait a minute here, okay, you got to talk about this. But if you're talking about what you are allowed to eat, and that's what these verses are about. Right. It's not about doctrine. It's about practice. Right. It's not about doctrine. It's about practice.
Starting point is 01:22:25 Yes. Once again, daily Christian living is what Paul is talking about. And so unity through acceptance is part of the process of fulfilling the law of love. Right. fulfilling the law of love. Right. So you're encouraging fellow believers
Starting point is 01:22:53 to have harmony with one another. Right. So Rick, what would be a modern application of this today? Can you think of something that would be where somebody that's kind of new to the faith might bring up or try to get an argument about or something like that? I mean, is there anything in your mind
Starting point is 01:23:16 that comes to the top of your mind? Well, you have two that are in these verses that are still prevalent today. The issue of the Sabbath and what types of food you can eat. Right, the dietary laws, yes. They're still debated today. And Paul talks about both of these things. They're both mentioned in these verses.
Starting point is 01:23:42 And so we'll go down here, we'll get into this discussion. Verse two, for one believeth that he may eat all things, that's Doc. Well, no carbs anymore. All right, okay. For one believeth that he may eat all things, another who is weak, eateth herbs.
Starting point is 01:24:08 Those vegetarians, man. That's what they had them back then. So, a modern English would be one man or woman believes he can eat any animal, any animal, all flesh, but another whose conscience is tender eats only vegetables and fruits. You're talking about vegetarians or vegans. A vegan just being somebody who doesn't consume dairy, eggs, but vegetarians do. Vegetarians drink milk and eat cheese and eat eggs, but they don't eat meat. And I, you know, everybody, I would assume in this class, you know, people who are vegetarians, you Christians who are vegetarians. And that's okay, it's wonderful. Well, Rick, I have a confession to make. I'm a second level vegetarian.
Starting point is 01:25:10 What's that? I eat things that eat vegetables. There you go. I'm a backslidden vegetarian. I keep falling off a wagon every once in a while. Isn't it true, and just as a general rule, if someone's a vegetarian generally, they announce it. Yes. Right. They go out of their way to say, well, I just let you know I'm a vegetarian.
Starting point is 01:25:38 I didn't ask, but okay. You don't go around saying, hey, I let you know. Okay. You don't go around saying, Hey, I let you know. I've got a shirt that says that, but I don't go around public and say, but it's, this is the kind of thing that Paul's talking about. People can get in arguments over these things. Yes. And they still do. Right. They still do. And, you know, in my, in my early years in this ministry, there were many wonderful Seventh-day Adventists
Starting point is 01:26:10 who listened to my program, my True News. We had a very big audience among Seventh-day Adventists, and they wrote to me, they emailed me, they visited me. Wonderful people, had many great conversations. And when we lived in Tennessee for three years, our home was actually smack dab in the middle of a Seventh-day Adventist community. I mean, thousands were living around us because there was the Southern University was there.
Starting point is 01:26:52 Oh that's right, yeah. And probably the biggest, one of the biggest Adventist bookstores probably in the world was there. Adventist bookstores probably in the world was there. So, I had many conversations and they're good people and they're Christians. They are adamant about not eating meat, not drinking coffee. See, I hear I'm drinking coffee and that's's forbidden in the Adventist Church because of the caffeine. So you have what Paul's saying here is, first of all,
Starting point is 01:27:35 don't impose your will on somebody else on these matters, and don't argue with people about it. Just be at peace. Have unity through love. Receive those who disagree with you. See, this is not about doctrine unless you try to make it doctrine. And that's what some people do.
Starting point is 01:27:59 They try to make it a doctrine that you have to be a vegetarian. You have to do certain things. And they make it your salvation based on it. That's what I'm saying. You know, they is if you well if you're not eating like the way we eat, then I have to question your salvation. If you're not worshipping the Lord on Saturday, then boy you you better get a fireproof suit. So you know that's where some of them take it. And there are other issues too out there, but these are two examples that Paul brings up in these passages that still persist to this day.
Starting point is 01:28:34 Yes, but both sides are still in the body of Christ. Both sides are still brothers and sisters sisters and we should treat each other that way and not show any kind of criticism or rejection or condemnation or judgment. Just respect. I mean, obviously if I if I if I got invited to a seven-day Adventist home for dinner, I know I'm not going to get a cheeseburger. Right. But that's okay. I love vegetables. That's not a big deal. If I go to someone's house in Jordan, it's unlikely I'm going to have a BLT. Right.
Starting point is 01:29:25 Okay. All right. That's very unlikely. So, you know, but you don't make a big deal about it. You don't go out of your way and say, well, you know, we're not getting any pork tonight, no bacon tonight, or whatever it might be. Don't make a big deal about it. or whatever it might be, don't make a big deal about it. Proper teaching of the word within a congregational setting by a pastor or a teacher regarding the dietary laws and everything, that's one thing. That's not a debate, that's not an argument. That's a pastor or a teacher leading a congregation.
Starting point is 01:30:02 What we're talking about here is these casual interactions and social media is bereft with these arguments. I mean, you go on Facebook and Twitter and all of them and you'll see arguments going on all day long about various aspects of the Christian walk and once and you have to pick a side. See, it's in Christianity too. We have to pick a side. There's no there's no well Let's just live with each other and we'll work it out So doc that tells me the people On social media arguing about these things as christians have not read the 14th chapter of romans Or they wouldn't be arguing.
Starting point is 01:30:46 Because the message here is don't argue. Respect the other person's viewpoint. Look, when you travel internationally, you're going to encounter things to eat that you've never had before. Oh yeah. All right. Doc's been around. He's, he's put down some stuff that I don't think I could do it. I'll remember Singapore.
Starting point is 01:31:13 I know. And actually I got, I actually walked out of a restaurant because I couldn't, I couldn't stomach what doc and another member of my team was eating. That's good Rick. That's good Rick because there was a stomach in there. Like I want to put something in my stomach. I don't want to put a stomach in my stomach. That was a great trip. What's the point of putting something else's stomach in your stomach? Okay. something else's stomach in your stomach. Okay. So, but our cultures are different. I'll give you an example between American culture and African. Okay. So years ago we were active in Kenya. And my son, Jeremy, my daughter, they had been making trips to Kenya without me. We had an orphanage.
Starting point is 01:32:09 Well, we were we didn't own the we were supporting an orphanage in Nairobi. And so they were going over there and helping to build things at the orphanage. So then I finally a year or two later, finally got to make a trip. And that was 2008. And I knew not only would I be in Nairobi, but I would be out in the bushland. And just before leaving, I asked Jeremy, I said, hey, just be honest with me, prepare me.
Starting point is 01:32:37 What am I gonna be served at mealtime? And he said, well, dad, I'll tell you, when you're in the city, you know, it's just like here, you have nice meals. But when you get out in the bushland, I'll tell you the way it's going to be. Okay. He says, well, first they're going to bring you fried bread. It's going to be delicious. They're going to fry it on rocks.
Starting point is 01:33:04 Okay, I can eat bread that sounds great well then they're gonna bring rice well that's good I love rice and then he said they're gonna bring a kettle of assorted animal parts I was told in animal parks that the stuff couldn't fit in anywhere else. Yes, he said, that's when it becomes challenging, you know, and sure enough, when I got, you know, in Nairobi, you know, at the hotel, they had restaurants, everything was fine. Okay. was fine, okay. When I got out in the bushland and I'm sitting in a little dirt hut owned by the pastor, dirt floor hut, and there were a lot of people there and I was being treated like royalty. And that's the other thing my son said, he said, hey dad, remember, you're
Starting point is 01:34:01 going to be the honored guest. Okay. So you,, so what's in that pot, you have to eat it. So I'm thinking, oh, I hope it's chicken wings. I'm hoping cheeseburgers. If it's going to be assorted, OK, I'll take it. I kind of have my wish list. But anyhow, I was sitting there and so they wanted to serve me food and the ladies came in from outside. They were frying the bread outside on the rocks. Bread, oh my, oh delicious. I bet it was good. Yeah. Oh,
Starting point is 01:34:42 Oh, delicious. I bet it was good. Oh, tear it up. So I thought, okay, this is cool. I'll love this bread. I'll just, I'll just eat bread all night. And then, then the rice came in. Okay. This is going good. And then I saw them coming with the kettle and they brought the kettle right to me and had a lid on it. And they go, you go, you go first, you're the guest. And I took that lid off. And I looked in there and there was something looking back at me. Oh, no, it's got eyeballs. What are we doing here? They were all, it was an assortment, truly was. You could deep dive in there and
Starting point is 01:35:32 find just about anything that was ever in or on an animal. They didn't know what you liked so they put everything. Yeah, yeah, the variety. The cow was the one. You want the tail? Go for it. I want the brains. They're the brains. But that's culture. That's African culture. My daughter Carissa invited one of the pastors and his wife from Kenya, flew them to the US in Florida for a visit. And I took them, Susan, I took them to a magnificent, one of the best seafood buffets in South Florida. I said, I'm going to treat these, this pastor and his wife to the most awesome seafood that you're in Florida I'm gonna take you to the best they about vomit it I'm not kidding you when we walked Doc I walked the pastor and his wife along the seafood buffet, showing them all this food.
Starting point is 01:36:45 Look, crabs, lobsters, shrimp, squid. Look at all this stuff, okay? Scallops, clams. They actually, they were gagging. And I'm not exaggerating, they were gagging. And they said, we can't do this. We can't do it. I go,'t do this. We can't do it. I said, what do you mean you can't do it?
Starting point is 01:37:09 They said, no, no, no, please, we can't eat this. This is making us sick to look at it. And I wanted to say, well, what do you think that pot back there in Mwingi? A lot of innards was. What do you think that pot did to me, all right? The point I'm making here is our cultures are different and people eat different things. And we are to respect each other and just understand. One is not right and one is wrong.
Starting point is 01:37:44 And so, the scriptures tell us, you know, eat whatever's put in front of you. Right. It's one of the instructions to the, I believe to the 70 that were sent out. Whatever's put in front of you, eat it. Right, and it's the principle of hospitality too, not just in giving hospitality, but in receiving hospitality. Your host has, you know,
Starting point is 01:38:10 you know, invited you into their home. They've prepared you a meal out of the kindness of their heart and really you have no obligation to refuse based on your preference. And of course, Rick and I, both of us, we've traveled a lot. We've been a lot of people's homes and everything. And what I usually find, Rick, is where there have been times where I was reluctant in a meal. I end up finding out I've got something new that I like. Generally, that's usually the case. I haven't had potluck innards stew anywhere. I've had individual innards at various places around the world. But the principle is the
Starting point is 01:38:54 same. But keep in mind, too, that Paul is talking about those that make this religious requirement. Not just a matter of, yeah, well, you like hamburgers, I like hot dogs. No, it goes beyond that. It goes upon those who say, listen, if you don't eat anything but fish on Friday, you're going to hell. Okay? And there's a lot of Catholics. They believe that.
Starting point is 01:39:20 I mean, if you eat something besides fish on Fridays during Lent, man, you're in danger of purgatory. So there's a religious component that Paul is stressing here, that those who are weak in faith rely on these things to help them in their faith. Don't dispute with them. You were likely that way on some issue yourself. Yes, and if you're with somebody, let's say a Catholic that says we have to eat fish on Friday. Okay, eat fish. I love fish. I'm not going to argue about it. But see, if you insist, no, I'm buying a steak. I don't care what you eat. I'm buying a steak. I don't care what you eat, I'm buying a steak. See now you're offending the other person and you're not acting in love. Just order a piece of cod. It's just fish. It's no big deal. It's just vegetable. If they want to eat a
Starting point is 01:40:19 vegetable meal, eat it with them. Eat a salad, you know, let's get together. Don't make, what Paul's saying here is don't argue over it and don't offend and don't have strife over something as silly as food. Just eat it, okay? Or don't eat it, whatever it is that the other person is holding to now we get diverse. Yeah verse 3 Let not him that Edith despise him that Edith not and let not him which Edith not judge him that Edith They said again and let not him which Edith not judge him that Edith for God hath received him judge him that eateth for God hath received him modern English don't don't let him who eats despise him who doesn't eat don't let him who doesn't eat judge
Starting point is 01:41:10 him who eats for God has accepted him now one of the issues that was brought up by the early church and you read about in Acts and in Corinthians is that, okay, every temple in the city, let's say it's Corinth, okay, every temple to Diana, to everybody, all these different temples, they have animal sacrifices, just like they have at the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. But all these pagan temples have, you know, have offerings of cells, animals, okay. There were two ways that temples made money. Well, three ways. People gave money, prostitution, and selling meat that they had in the sacrifice. And so what would happen is, of course, the priest and the pagan temple would take their cut of the meat and everything for themselves, just like they did in the Jewish temple.
Starting point is 01:42:09 But on the back alley of the temple, let's say the temple of the Diana or the temple of Jupiter, they sold this excess meat to anybody, to the public. And the temple made money off of that by selling this. And so the question that was coming up with some early believers is, well, I don't see anything wrong with eating this meat because if I bring it home and I pray the Lord's blessing on it,
Starting point is 01:42:35 there's no curse on it. I'm not offering it to Jupiter. I'm just eating a cheeseburger, okay? But then another believer would say, no, no, no, no, that's been offered to Jupiter. You should not eat that. And I question your salvation if you eat a hamburger from Jupiter's temple. So that was another real world experience that was going on in Paul's day. Because the Christian with the stronger faith who ate meat that he knew came from a temple said,
Starting point is 01:43:12 it's a dumb idol. Right, the God's not real. There's nothing there, I don't care what, you know, I don't care what they did with it. This is just meat. But another person said, no, an idol blessed this thing. But again, it comes down to individual conscience,
Starting point is 01:43:40 but respecting the other person's conscience. Absolutely. That's what this is saying. Don't let him who doesn't eat judge him who eats and forgot has accepted both accepted him. So the verse addresses both the strong who eat freely and the weak who abstain. This issue also goes with the dietary rules because you have a lot of because the Judaizers in the church wants you to eat according to the Jewish law. How many of you in this class, how many of you have been, how many of you have encountered believers who have told you you cannot eat bacon, can't eat ham, can't eat pork, can't eat seafood, can't, all right, we all have. And for years it bothered me. I thought, well, maybe I am
Starting point is 01:44:33 doing something wrong. But I kept going back and finding these verses. I said, no, you're not. But I'd get these strong arguments, Rick, you can't eat bacon. You can't eat shrimp. I'll show you in the Word, all right? But it was always Old Testament. And then I go over here in the New Testament and I find these scriptures and like, well, wait a minute. Why are these people trying to make me act Jewish? I'm not Jewish. I'm not under the law.
Starting point is 01:45:15 Now, personally, I don't eat a lot of pork, but that's a health choice of my own personal choosing. That's a health choice of my own personal choosing. If you serve me pork, I'll eat it. In fact, yesterday morning, Susan made me a breakfast that had Jimmy Dean sausages in it. I ate them because she made it for me. But I don't actively eat a lot of pork. I ate so much pork as a kid, I guess that's what it was. We had hogs, we raised hogs, we butchered hogs. I ate pork till it
Starting point is 01:45:54 came out my ears, okay? But Rick, I know for a fact you like seafood. I love seafood. Yes. Okay. And there would be people who would continue for that. That's right. That's right.
Starting point is 01:46:07 I grew up in Maryland. We could pick crabs for hours. So I'm an old crab picker from way back. And there was nothing more enjoyable on a summer night in Maryland to sit outside on a picnic table covered with newspapers and baskets of crabs dumped on the table. And you just spend hours fellowshiping, talking. But others would condemn that.
Starting point is 01:46:51 So I finally came to the place where I realized, okay, I'm being tormented by people who refuse to accept the New Testament. They are shoving the Old Testament down my throat and calling themselves Christians and yet refusing to accept what's in the New Testament. So don't let anybody argue with you about the food that you're eating. In terms of its spirituality, it's religious worth. There's no such thing. Obviously there's food that's more healthy to eat than others and you should eat the healthier food. But those are health decisions,
Starting point is 01:47:37 not spiritual religious decisions. Right, and so if you make a decision based on health and you're convinced in that, go for it. I mean, you know, live it out, but don't make it a religious requirement for someone else. I mean, you know, this is a two-way street here. There are things that I like to tell the story. When I first got saved, I started reading the Bible straight through,
Starting point is 01:48:09 started out in Genesis. I didn't know better. I just started, well, here's the book. I'll just start at the beginning and read it through. By the time I got over into Deuteronomy, I wasn't eating any bacon or ham. I told my grandma Burkhart, grandma, I want you to know,
Starting point is 01:48:27 I am not eating any bacon or ham. And well, you're gonna be missing out on about half the things I cook, Sonny. And so I kept reading the Bible and reading the Bible and then finally got over the New Testament. One day I came to grandma and said, grandma, bacon and ham are back on the menu. That's right.
Starting point is 01:48:46 You grow in your faith sometimes too. And that was an area in my life. But I still remember- I wanna print a Bible that starts with the New Testament. Why do we put the New Testament at the back of the Bible? That's a great question. Read the New Testament and then after you understand the New Covenant, then study the Old Covenant. Yeah, I wouldn't recommend my reading plan. I would not.
Starting point is 01:49:20 We all did it. We all did it, Doc. I've been doing a lot of things. No, we all did it. And we get stuck in the law. I would not. Well, we all did it. We all did it, Doc. I've been doing a lot of things. No, we all did it. And we get stuck in the law. And then we're stumbling over things and we're trying to become old covenant Christians.
Starting point is 01:49:35 Right. You know, you're telling your grandmother you weren't gonna eat bacon. My grandmother, you weren't going to eat bacon. I mean, my grandmother, if you bacon, grease, flour, and salt, she could make anything with it. Yeah, mine's the same way. I'm telling you, I think she made pies with she she could make anything with it. Okay. That those were the staples of her kitchen.
Starting point is 01:50:11 But you can't go into people's homes as a guest and refuse to eat something because you say, well, I'm too good to eat that. Cause that's really what you're saying. I'm too good. I'm better than you religiously. I'm better than you. My, my eating style is higher than yours. Yes, that's exactly what you're doing. It really is food's snobbery. You're doing something religious. You're doing something religious,
Starting point is 01:50:35 and religion is filled with pride. Yes. But for God hath received him, it's affirming that God has accepted both groups. Again, we don't judge. We're to avoid despising, judging, criticizing. Disputations. Yes. Verse four. Who are you who judge another servant? To his Lord he stands or falls. Yes, he will be made to stand for God has power to make him stand. Wow. Doc, I've never seen this one before. What I just saw. Even when you're weak, God
Starting point is 01:51:26 says, it's up to me to decide if you fall or stand. That just hit me. God's able to make him stand. To his Lord he stands or falls. Yes, he will be made to stand for God has power to make him stand. That has different connotations have both you will be made to stand before the Lord and give an account but also says it's God who ultimately decides in this life, whether you're standing or whether you are falling. He can bring down the pride, the proud. He can hold up a repentant sinner. Right.
Starting point is 01:52:22 While everybody else is shouting, take him down, take him down. And the Lord's saying, no, that's my sovereign against judging others' convictions. Right. Let God deal with it. Yes. That's really what Paul is saying here. Don't try to convince them. Don't try to argue with them or anything like that. First of all, you're just going to get frustrated, and you're probably not going to convince them anyway. I give you a great example here. No one could have, when I've, you know, I've never held to the rapture doctrine,
Starting point is 01:53:16 the modern view of the rapture doctrine, that Jesus is coming before seven-year trivia. I just never was convinced about that and yet it, you know, in churches and Bible college and everything, you know, I was kind of on the outside. They made that a big issue. I mean, really made it a big issue. And, you know, we run into the same thing today as well, although the arguments are getting weaker and weaker as the days go by, that people make an issue out of it. They will tell you, and listen, we'll tell you, ladies and gentlemen, Rick and I have been on the receiving end of being ostracized by Christian groups
Starting point is 01:54:01 and major Christian leaders. And friends. Yeah. Basically told, you know, not only are you out, you're probably not even saved. Yes. Because you don't support the state of Israel. Right.
Starting point is 01:54:18 Therefore, you're going to burn in hell. This is what Paul's talking about. Don't have these arguments, have unity among believers. And you know what? And I've never been able to convince anybody on my point of view of the rapture. I've never been, I mean, I can make the case and everything, but what I've learned is most of the time
Starting point is 01:54:44 that when people shift on the rapture doctrine, it's because they saw something in the Word and the Holy Spirit brought them out. I've never won a debate on anything related to dispensationalism or the rapture, but I know I'm right. I can't believe the Word. Well, it's actually a cult and you can't reason with people in a cult Right and only the Holy Spirit can open a person's eyes and bring them out of a cult verse 5 he he still opened my eyes on things mm-hmm, so Verse 5 one man esteems one day as more important, another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.
Starting point is 01:55:32 Now we're getting in, we're moving away from food and we're talking about days of the week. Right. So Paul's talking about believers who honor certain days, the Sabbath, Jewish festivals, and those who treat all days equally. Paul is saying, accept each other's beliefs. Doc, again, this is just popping up off the page. One man esteems one day is more important. That's talking about the Sabbath.
Starting point is 01:56:19 Another esteems every day alike, seven days. Another seems every day alike, seven days. In other words, there is no Sabbath in the New Testament. Why? Because Jesus is our Sabbath. Right. Back in the days when my dear friends at the Seventh-day Adventist Church tried to get me to join, and I wrestled with this for several years. I mean, wrestle, because, oh God, please, am I sinning by not worshipping you on Saturday? Am I violating your law? I mean, my tender conscience bothered me, and I sought the Lord.
Starting point is 01:57:14 I was vexed, I was troubled. It's been on for several years. I found every book I could find on it on both sides. Then one night the Lord himself appeared in my sleep, not in a dream. He came and stood next to my bed. I didn't wake up and see him. I knew he was standing there. And he said, Rick, be at peace. I am your Sabbath. Rest in me.
Starting point is 01:57:56 Be at peace. I am your Sabbath. Rest in me. It settled it. Jesus Christ himself came and answered what my soul was tormented over. He knew I honestly desired to know the truth and to obey him. But he gave me a revelation that both sides of the Sabbath debate didn't have. And this is what I mean. This the the seventh day Adventists and those sabbatarians and other denominations they're called sabbatarians, they believe you have to worship on Saturday, the seventh day.
Starting point is 01:58:52 The Roman Catholic Church and the Protestant churches say the church moved the Sabbath from the seventh day to the first day because Christ was resurrected on the first day and therefore the Sabbath is on the first day of the week which is Sunday, not Monday, Sunday. What Jesus showed me, Doc, is that both sides are wrong. So the sabbatarians are saying you got to go to church on Saturday, you can't do anything, you can't lift a finger, you can't do anything, you got to be in Sabbath rest all day. The Catholic Church and the Protestants is not so much today because they don't even practice what they preach But when I was a young Christian the Sunday Sabbath was still very strong Stores were closed. You didn't do anything. You certainly weren't out in in your front yard in your shorts mowing the grass
Starting point is 02:00:06 anything, you certainly weren't out in your front yard in your shorts mowing the grass. People would have a heart attack if they saw you doing that. That guy left church, went home and got his shorts on and mowing his grass. He's a sinner. He's out there in his garden, hoeing and weeding on Sunday. Both sides are wrong. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind. Jesus is our Sabbath rest. And so back in those days when my SDA friends would come for me, try to get me to join the SDA church,
Starting point is 02:01:02 and I would tell them, oh no, I'm resting. I honor the Sabbath. You do? Oh yes, I'm a seven days Adventist. And they go, oh what? I said, a seven days Adventist. I rest seven days. Nobody understands that, very few people understand it.
Starting point is 02:01:35 And it's, I every day have to work at this to rest every day, to rest in Christ my Sabbath. So every day is alike. It's settled it for me. Reach the place spiritually where you are resting in Christ seven days a week. What are you going to struggle and work in your own flesh and your own efforts six days a week,
Starting point is 02:02:13 but then one day a week you're going to, whether it's Saturday or Sunday, you're going to say, well, look, I'm resting. Yeah, but the other six days you're struggling in yourself. That's another lesson on the Sabbath. The main thing of verse five is that Paul saying respect each other. Yes. If one person wants to honor the Jewish Sabbath and let him do it. But if another says, hey, they're all the same in Christ, then honor him, honor her.
Starting point is 02:02:51 Be respectful of each other's views. Verse six, this is where I thought we were gonna get to today, right on schedule. We do about five to six verses a day. World English Bible. He who observes the day observes it to the Lord. And he who does not observe the day to the Lord, he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks. He who doesn't eat to the Lord, he doesn't eat and gives God thanks. This is all a matter of conscience here.
Starting point is 02:03:33 Yes, both groups are giving thanks to God. Both groups are honoring their conscience and God is respecting their conscience. and God is respecting their conscience. So verse six is building on the first five verses, showing that both observing days and eating habits, when done for God's glory, reflect love, and the love fulfills the law. Remember we're supposed to be loving
Starting point is 02:04:11 in order to fulfill the law. Right. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself. If you do these two things, you keep all the law. The law has been fulfilled. So Paul's saying, stay in this attitude of love. Keep the unity in the church.
Starting point is 02:04:30 If at all ways, be at peace with one another, live in peace. Right. And if both of you are sincerely seeking to honor and glorify and worship the Lord. Guess what? The Lord accepts both. Yes. That's the message in these verses because love fosters unity by placing value on the person's heart, their intent to honor God. Yes. The intention of their heart is to honor God. Unto the Lord, it's speaking of honoring God's glory as the central thing in their lives.
Starting point is 02:05:30 Honoring God, it means living with a heart set on pleasing Him. Whether through observing religious days or not, or through eating certain things or not. God doesn't care. What He cares about is how you treat your fellow believers. That he cares about. And that's a higher priority. Yes.
Starting point is 02:05:54 And he cares about unity. And you can have all the best arguments in the world, but without love, it's a tinkling symbol. Yes. love, it's a tinkling symbol. And realize by correcting others in some of these minor matters, and these are minor matters, but correcting someone in this, you got to remember your own walk with the Lord. You weren't always where you were either. You've grown in the Lord, you've changed your mind on a lot of things. That renewal by the Word, just in the morning manna over the past couple years. My mind has been changed on quite a few things actually, because now we're going through
Starting point is 02:06:35 the Word verse by verse. I never saw that before. Now I saw I'm having to make a course correction in my life. But it's the Word that's doing that. But it's the Word that's doing that. The teaching of the Word that's doing that, not a disputation like Paul is talking about in verse 1. We're not going to argue someone to a point of faith. It doesn't mean that there can't be healthy discussions about the Scripture, about the Word, about different aspects of it. That's not what Paul is saying at all. What he's saying is when
Starting point is 02:07:05 you make it a disputation, when you make it a point of division between a fellow believer, you've crossed the line. You've gone too far in this. Live in peace, love one another, show mercy and kindness, and remember that you're a sinner. And that you need God to show you mercy and kindness. If you bring it back to Paul's reality, where persecution was out in the open, okay? And he's saying, you know what? We've got enough trouble right now with persecution and everything else going on.
Starting point is 02:07:56 Let's stop fighting with each other. Let's learn to live together. What was that Rodney, I can't think of his last name now, the guy out in LA, Rodney King. He said, can't we all just learn to get along? The one thing he was famous for, can we all get along? And he couldn't get along with anybody. That was the thing that got me.
Starting point is 02:08:20 But that's what Paul is saying, too. Listen, as believers, can't we just get along? Now, there are some doctrines that are doctrines. I mean, but if we're going to make an issue about one day or another day, or what we don't eat, it says a lot more about are we being more religious than we are loving? That's right. And the priority is on love. And we are all deficient in that department.
Starting point is 02:08:56 Yes. Every one of us, we are deficient in the love department, and we have to work on it every single day. Some people are ahead of others, but even though they are better than others in the love department, they are still deficient because they're willfully behind Jesus Christ in love. Who do you know who loves like Christ? Can you name anybody who loves like Christ? And can you imagine Jesus saying, you know, I'd love you more if you worshiped on Saturday. Yes, Cynthia says love.
Starting point is 02:09:44 I'd love you a whole lot more if you didn't eat bacon. Yes. All right, hey, we're over the one hour mark. So we'll pick up at verse seven on Monday, tomorrow's Faith Friday. That's right. And so always a good day on Faith Friday. And so looking forward to that and appreciate everyone tuning in today. We had actually quite a few new folks on today I'm seeing here. And so this is our live edition, of course, an eight o'clock hour on the East Coast here for Morning Manna. and we appreciate you being here no matter where you are in the world and I hope that you're sharing this with others as well and
Starting point is 02:10:26 We say hello to everyone else that's listening at different times around the world either on faith and values or on our various outlets and so Continue to pray for this ministry. We're going through some major changes right now. And so hey we having a prayer meeting in the world Doc prayer meeting tonight If you're on for it, I am. So yeah, let's do it. OK, 8 PM tonight, we're getting together for prayer. I'll make the announcement after morning minute. All right, and a short one.
Starting point is 02:10:55 Let's just have a short one. OK, but let's keep it going. Yes, sir. So all right. All right. Well, on that note, remember tomorrow's Faith Friday is also Communion. So, all right. All right. Okay. Well on that note, remember tomorrow's Faith Friday, it's also communion. So be prepared for that as well with
Starting point is 02:11:12 red wine and grape juice and so Gosh, can I tell them about the special thing Rick? No. Not yet. Not yet. Okay. Yeah, we can Well, we'll tell the people in the prayer meeting tonight. OK, let's do that. So I'm very excited about that. When you showed me that yesterday, I was like, hot dog. But you'll be very happy to see it. So if there's no other reason, join us for prayer meeting
Starting point is 02:11:39 besides prayer, join us for that tonight. No, hey, no, no. I'm just joking. We'll go ahead. So we have, there's a woodmaker in Jordan who is making morning manna communion cup olive wood boxes. the morning manna communion cup So it's a box. That will hold I don't know how
Starting point is 02:12:13 many communion cups I forget what the count is. But these are the prefilled communion cups and it's made out of all of what is handmade and it has the morning Manna logo burnt into the top of the box. And so he sent us photographs of all the boxes that he has made.
Starting point is 02:12:32 They're gonna be shipped from Jordan to the United States here, I guess, next week. Yes, so, okay, I've got a picture if you want me to share it, Rick. Yeah, yeah, I didn't know if we could do that on, can we post photographs? Yeah, I can share it here. It should be going up on the screen right now. Here we go.
Starting point is 02:12:52 So, all right. So these, they're getting ready to be packed up at this point. And so, but look at that. Isn't that cool? Rick showed me this yesterday. We've been talking about this for a few weeks now. We've been planning it for months,
Starting point is 02:13:07 but just been having our own challenges in order to get it done. But look at that. Isn't that great? And so I guess, are they in route yet, Rick? No, they haven't been shipped yet. I think he's making a, he's got a few more to make. And we have 100 that's
Starting point is 02:13:25 coming in. And anyhow, I don't know how long it's going to take on a ship to get here. But I'm kind of with the new tariff rules and all those. Yeah, so there are tariffs also, we got to deal with all that stuff. So I'm assuming, Doc, that we might have them by mid-June. Right. That's kind of what I think. Right now. Praise the Lord. Something to look forward to. And so, but as I said, we're
Starting point is 02:13:57 going through a transition in ministry right now. And so continue your prayers for us and know you will. And please continue in your love. And we I know you will. And please continue in your love. And we love you very much. And we thank you for your faithfulness here. Usually between 300 and 400 people, Rick, every single day showing up. I just can't, I still have a hard time comprehending that.
Starting point is 02:14:20 That 300 or 400 people. Yes, faithfully show up. The whole group that the thousands that come throughout the day We're not overlooking you were we we the the morning man of class is in the thousands Yes We're just talking about the people that are here in live Classroom at 8 a.m. Amen, where he's not only getting started. So that's right in live classroom at 8 a.m. Amen. Praise God.
Starting point is 02:14:46 And we're only getting started. So. That's right. Praise God. Okay, so today's the last actual, and I mean, we're gonna do true news tomorrow, but today will be the last day I'm actually talking about news, because tomorrow's basically gonna be a goodbye
Starting point is 02:15:03 for true news. I'm not gonna spend time, unless there's a nuclear war tomorrow with India and Pakistan. But you probably will know about that before we tell you. Yes. So we won't even have to report it. You'll know about it. But yeah, so we'll do standard true news today. Tomorrow will be a farewell.
Starting point is 02:15:26 And then we're putting true news to bed. Amen. And on Monday, it's entirely morning manna and the teaching of the Word of God. And that's the transformation the Lord is doing in this ministry and working in our hearts. I just believe that there's a new ministry being born and it will not be like anything else we've ever done in 26 years.
Starting point is 02:15:57 Praise God. On that note, tune in tomorrow. We'll have more for you on Faith Friday here on Morning Manna. We love you. God bless you. We'll see you then. See you.
