This is True News for Friday, March 15, 2024. Let's begin with this story about Britain at war with Russia. This is the RT version out of Russia. Britain at war with Russia, says ex-MI6 boss. And it says Britain is engaged

in a gray war with Russia, but neither the authorities nor the public are taking the situation seriously enough. The former head of the famed spy agency MI6, Richard Dearlove, has warned. And it goes on to say that the UK military isn't getting enough money to be able to counter the threats posed by Moscow and Beijing. And Dearlove, who led the British Secret Intelligence Service between 99 and 04, said that in an interview published by Politico earlier today. Now, if you stopped anyone in the street here in the UK and asked them whether they thought Britain is at war, they'd look at you as if you were mad. But we are at war. We're engaged in a gray war with Russia. And I'm trying to remind people that the former spy chief said.

So, Doc, if you were a fan of James Bond movies, Mr. Dearlove would have been the equivalent of M. Right. That was his role. He ran the British Secret Intelligence Service. So he is now openly saying in the news media of Great Britain, we're at war. It's a great war, but we're at war with Russia. And the public doesn't understand it. Whose fault is that? Well, I would say the news media and the government. Because they haven't taken the situation with the confrontation with Russia seriously enough. They just really don't think Russia's going to do anything.

That's what it comes down to. Right. They don't believe Russia will ever respond, that they can just keep pushing and pushing and pushing. And they have made a foolish conclusion that Russia will never go to nuclear war. That we can gin up this war machine and extend it out indefinitely. But now the problem is that there isn't enough money to cover up all the defenses that are necessary in order to, if there was an actual conflict that erupted, the U.K. wouldn't be able to defend itself. Well, speaking about money, remember the story yesterday that the Russians jammed the equipment

on the British military plane that was carrying their Ministry of Defense? Right. Their Minister of Defense. Yeah, the number one defense guy for the UK. Well, the Times of London reporting today that Britain couldn't afford the equipment. Hold on a second here, Rick. The UK couldn't afford the equipment necessary to protect the Russians from jamming signals on the UK Ministry of Defense's plane.

That's what they're reporting. And this is coming from a London paper. Yes. Not only a London paper. The London paper. The Times of London. The granddaddy of newspapers in London. So it wasn't just a matter of the Russians jamming a signal.

They didn't have the defenses to be able to counter it. The Russians had a free ride. The Brits put up no resistance because they had no resistance. And they had no resistance because they had no resistance. And they had no resistance because they had no money. Why would you pick a fight with a nuclear-armed country when you don't even have enough money to protect the minister of defense who's flying back from a meeting talking about war? It's so – That's why they don't really believe that there's going to be a war. If you believed it, you would protect – wouldn't you protect your Ministry of Defense? I mean, I don't want – I'm not a fan of our Secretary of Defense, but I want him protected when he's flying around.

I don't want some foreign entity to be able to jam the signals on his plane. Doc, if you were in the Old West, would you pick a fight with Billy the Kid if you only had two bullets? Wouldn't that be stupid? That would be insane, yes. Just to keep irritating Billy the Kid? And you only have two bullets. And you know it.

You know that you only have two. And you continue to irritate a gunslinger. That's what Britain, that's what the whole West is doing to Russia. It is Russia's restraint that has kept us from a global calamity. If Russia was doing to us what we're doing to them, we would have already bombed Russia a long time ago. So they're showing enormous restraint.

But I think they've reached a point where they've already made the decision they're going to strike. The issue now is when. Right. Yeah, all indications are that that's the direction things are going. But regarding this story of the Ministry of Defense's plane, the RAF aircraft that Defense Secretary Grant Shamps was flying in when its signals were jammed was defenseless. That's the word that the London Times is using as it flew close to Russian territory because the military could not afford to pay for its protective systems. Russia was suspected of interfering with the GPS signal for half an hour as the jet departed

northeast Poland and flew near Kaliningrad, and what defense sources initially said was wildly irresponsible. Well, now the Times can reveal that the government chose not to give the new VIP jets protective systems such as anti-missile jammers, jam-proof communications, or military-standard avionics, not even military-standard avionics, to save as much as 200 million pounds, a decision now that's being reversed, Rick. Experts said the aircraft had been left vulnerable to surprise attack. It's an incredible story.

French President Emmanuel Macron is not backing down on his desire to have NATO troops in Russia. In fact, he's doubling down. He made a number of comments today. As you see the CNBC article, Macron doubles down on possible NATO deployment in Ukraine ahead of talks to bridge a rift with Germany. Well, why is there a rift with Germany? Because Germany's getting cold feet. They're like, you're really serious, aren't you? You really do want to fight Russia.

An all-out war. That's what you're talking about. So there were talks today between Macron and Schultz and Tusk. Yes, in Poland. In Poland. So this is what CNBC said. It said, we cannot exclude options, Macron said in a joint interview with TF1 and France 2 TV, when asked to revisit controversial comments made in late February.

At the time, the French leader refused to rule out the prospective deployment of Western troops into Ukraine, resulting in scorn from Russia and a backlash from Macron's NATO allies. He said, what we are doing is giving ourselves red lines, the French premier continued on Thursday in comments translated by CNBC, noting that the international community has placed too many limits in our vocabulary regarding the war. If we decide today to be weak, if in the face of someone who has no limits, who has crossed all the limits we've given him, if we naively tell him, I will not go farther than this or that, in that moment we don't decide peace, we decide defeat.

Who is Macron to tell Russia what the limits are? You can only make those statements if you're in the war. Right. So are you in the war or not? And the way the Russians are viewing this is, yeah, you're in the war. You're putting yourselves in. You're killing our troops. Your weapons are killing our troops. So you're in the war, which means Paris is now a target for Russian nuclear warheads.

So now you've got London as a target. You've got Paris as a target.'ve got paris as a target uh reuters had this story as well regarding uh macron it says francis macron says europe must be ready if russia escalates russia escalating if i'm in russia i'm seeing all the european nations escalating against me that that's my viewpoint well uh you know there was another headline on this talk. I don't think we have it here, but it said, it was so

typical Orwellian news speak. The headline said something like Macron says Europe must be ready for war if it wants peace. Yes. But you read it like, what did you just say? If I want peace, I have to be ready for war.

But that's the mindset that they're putting out to the public. That's pure George Orwell. It is George Orwell. And so this Reuters article says French President Macron called Vladimir Putin an adversary that would not stop in Ukraine if it defeated Ukraine's troops. He urged Europeans not to be weak and get ready to respond. Get ready to respond. Doc, the way I'm reading this is the NATO leaders are now bracing themselves for the fall of Ukraine. You're right.

I mean, it's going down. So instead of stepping back and saying, you know, this is a disaster, our entire plan has failed. It's a disaster. Instead of reasonably thinking like that, they're going the opposite direction. They're saying, if our plan fails, then we've

got to attack Russia. So the same stupid thinking that got them to the place where their plan failed, they're going to go even farther, which will result in an Armageddon-like war between Russia and the West. And yet these guys are continuing to push the same flawed thinking. And that's what he's saying here. He said if war spreads in Europe, Russia would be to blame. But if we decided to be weak, if we decide today that we would not respond, it would be choosing defeat already. And he said it was important for Europe not to draw red lines,

which would signal weakness to the Kremlin. Think of what he's saying. He's saying, I don't want to do that i want russia to stop this war and retreat i'm not going to give visibility to someone who is not giving me any mccrone's uh position right now he's saying to the other nato nations stop giving him red lines. Remember what he said earlier? You just read it. The Russians have crossed all the red lines we've given them. Now Macron is saying, no more red lines, which means we're prepared to fight.

We're not going to draw another line. We're just going to get ready for the war. And that's the stage that we're at right now. If you've been with Doc and me for two years and you've watched the progression, we're in the the stage where the nations, the NATO nations, are openly saying we are at war with Russia. We are not going to give them any more ultimatums. We have to get ready for all-out war. That's where we're at today. And the general public is clueless.

Most people in America have no idea that a third world war has started. They're not aware that there could be a nuclear war. But even among the people who are aware, there's still a tendency to rationalize in your thinking, I don't have to worry about it. It's not going to happen soon. It's not going to happen this week. It might happen in a couple years. I got a couple years, you know. And what I would say to you is that that's extremely dangerous thinking. Because if you've been following this war since 2022, then you have seen the progression of how the minds of both the Russians and the Western NATO nations

have progressively moved toward all-out war. So in their thinking, they've already come to the conclusion we're going to have the war. The U.S. State Department met with President Abbas of the Palestinian Authority and said, well, we've got good news and bad news. The good news is you're going to live to see the day of a Palestinian nation. Right. The bad news is you're not going to be in charge. You're not going to be the president.
