Also, the next 48 hours could determine Joe Biden's decision on whether or not to continue to remain in this year's presidential race.
Starting point is 00:01:53 First, the big news this morning is the so-called cyber crash that Microsoft and CrowdStrike experienced. Shutting down airports, banks were impacted, and 9-11 services refused to operate. We'll begin our analysis with this headline from CNN. It starts off here. Global Microsoft outage hits airlines, banks, and businesses. And there's the infamous blue screen of death that you're seeing there.
Starting point is 00:02:20 According to CNN, and this is one of the major outlets reporting on this, that these global outages, what were they? Well, there were tech disruptions worldwide, hitting airlines, banks, businesses, even emergency services, as I mentioned in the open. So what's behind this? Well, the outages appeared to stem partly from a software update for Microsoft Windows operating systems issued by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike,
Starting point is 00:02:48 experts tell CNN. Now, what's the plan? They plan to fix deployed, but impacts remain, and they'd still be affected even as we do today's true news. CrowdStrike CEO said a fix has been deployed, and Microsoft said the underlying cause has been fixed, but that the outages are still affecting some services. So what were those critical services that were affected? Well, you had 9-11 services that were down in several states in the U.S. Major U.S. airlines, including Delta, United, and American Airlines, have had flights grounded, and airlines in Europe and Asia have also seen disruptions. Banks in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Britain have been impacted, as have health services in Israel, Germany, and the UK.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Wall Street Journal is reporting here as well that a major IT outage grounds flights, hits banks, and businesses worldwide this is from uh from the wall street journal it says that windows computers and tablets crashed in countries from the u.s to china to australia with reports of forced restarts spreading across social media and it goes on to say many affected machines were unable to restart instead showing the blue screen of death that has been common with Windows in the past. CrowdStrike Chief Executive Officer George Kurtz said in a post on X that the issue had been identified and a fix had been deployed, adding that this is not a security incident or cyber attack. That one update from a single company could plunge so many companies,
Starting point is 00:04:32 from airline check-in desks to consultants' conference rooms, into a digital dark age, serving as a stark warning of the economy's technological dependence and the dangers of too much consolidation around the same tools. Now, I do find it interesting that the current CEO of CrowdStrike, Mr. Kurtz, was also the chief security officer of CrowdStrike. He served as Obama's executive assistant director under the FBI for cybersecurity. So he's definitely an Obama and Biden loyalist. Now, the question that remains is, of course, we're all vulnerable to cyber crashes and things like that as well. But the question is, if it was a cyber attack, how would we know?
Starting point is 00:05:22 How would we ever know if it was a cyber attack by simply blaming a cyber crash? Because that is a very real possibility. In fact, it's not something that's far out on the conspiracy edge at all. No one, no less than Klaus Schwab, almost appeared to be begging for a cyber crash of some kind, whether a cyber attack or cyber crash, several years ago in a video I want to share with you right now. Watch this. Pay insufficient attention to the frightening scenario of a comprehensive cyber attack, which would bring to a complete halt to the power supply, transportation, hospital services, our society as a whole. The COVID-19 crisis would be seen in this respect as a small disturbance in comparison to a major cyber attack.
Starting point is 00:06:28 Greater than COVID, he said. And so that's why we inform you with stories such as this today, because there's a lot of possibilities out there, folks, for a cyber attack. And it could come from a variety of sources. It could come from an enemy nation like Russia or China, a friendly nation, so-called friendly, like Ukraine or Israel. It could come from even within our own nation, a potential cyber attack disguised as a cyber crash. That's why we need to be discerning in talking about these events and the things that are happening and how they fit
Starting point is 00:07:06 in into the total global domination of the deep state. So we'll keep you informed. You keep your eyes and ears open for things that just don't fit in the cyber realm. Well, as they work through these cyber issues today, there's another issue that is going on that will probably be decided here within the next 24 to 48 hours. Now, NBC News had some breaking information earlier today that they shared with their audience. And this is the latest update on President Joe Biden. NBC News is now learning from two people familiar with the discussions that members of President Biden's family have talked about what an exit from this campaign might look like. But those conversations are happening as the Biden campaign insists
Starting point is 00:07:57 he won't drop out. So you're getting conflicting messages here that he's thinking about dropping out. He's not dropping out. It depends on who you ask, really. This is from Semaphore News here. Democrats, they're reporting this, that Democrats are starting to look past Joe Biden. What does a post-Joe Biden candidacy for president look like? Who are they going to run? How are things going to shake out? So there are members of the Democratic Party, the elite in the Democratic Party, and the
Starting point is 00:08:30 donor class within the Democratic Party that are extremely concerned on Joe Biden's ability to continue to campaign and to continue to confront Mr. Trump. And so this next 24 to 48 hours is going to be critical for Mr. Biden. Bloomberg is reporting that the president is facing unprecedented pressure to drop out of the race, but the campaign insists that Joe Biden plans to press on. So President Joe Biden is absolutely determined to remain in the presidential race and will resume campaigning next week. That's according to a top aide earlier today, even as allies have begun seeing his exit from the race as an inevitability. Joe Biden is more committed than ever, more committed than ever to beat Donald Trump. And we believe on this campaign, we are built for the
Starting point is 00:09:25 close election that we're in. And we see the path forward. That's coming from Jennifer O'Malley Dillon, Biden's campaign chairwoman, speaking to MSNBC earlier today. But even as a longtime aide insisted there was no chance for President Biden planning to drop out, NBC News reported that the president's family members had discussed what a possible exit plan would look like. The report underscored the extent to which the unprecedented pressure campaign from party elders and donors has rattled President Biden's reelection effort, drawing in even his fiercely protective family. Axios is reporting today that the Biden campaign is admitting some slippage. Slippage, that's what they're calling it now, slippage. Biden campaign admits slippage, but says he will absolutely remain in the race. Biden's campaign doubled down in saying that they will remain in the 2024 presidential race, but acknowledged that there's been a tough several weeks here, marked by some slippage,
Starting point is 00:10:32 as I said, in support set off by his disastrous debate performance last month. Jen O'Malley Dillon, which I quoted earlier, said that the Bidens are absolutely remaining in the race, adding that he is the best person to take on Donald Trump. Now, she went on to say in this Axios article, the American people know the president is older. They see that. They knew that before the debate, she said. Yes, of course, we have a lot of work to do to make sure we're reassuring the American people that, yes, he's old and he can do the job and he can. She said that the slippage in support has been a small movement, just a small movement, folks. Do you think that this is mere slippage? Everything that's been happening, Joe Biden, especially within the past three weeks since the debate. To me, it's more
Starting point is 00:11:27 than just slippage. Slippage is you mess up a word time or two. This is not slippage that we're witnessing here. Now, of course, Ms. O'Malley Dillon has to say those things because she represents the Biden campaign. They're not going to come out and say that he's dropping out. But at the same time, she admitted he's old. I don't understand a campaign chairwoman coming out and calling your candidate old and just reinforcing the narrative out there that's going to push him out unless they're back channeling that information. Now, one of the editors of Axios was on Fox & Friends early this morning, and he had some words to say about President Biden and his potential to drop out of the race, making it clear that the 24th Amendment is probably not an option at this point, that Joe Biden has to make the decision to drop out. Let's watch. So, Mike, is this about low ratings or is this about a president that is failing physically? That's is their case. If he was 61 instead of 81, would they still be looking to oust him because
Starting point is 00:12:37 of his poll ratings? He doesn't look like a winner to people who have the juice in the party. And that's the bottom line, is that they think it hurts the party, it hurts them, it hurts their control of both ends of Pennsylvania. And Lester Holt's interview you thought was just hideous, and that was convinced a lot of people. I mean, what hasn't gotten a lot of attention is in the 22 days, I believe it is, since the debate, the president's done about five-ish spontaneous interactions. And a lot of the Democrats who are making the case that they need a stronger nominee, they'll say if he could do town halls in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, he would be doing it. So there's no talk about the 25th Amendment. This
Starting point is 00:13:17 is just getting someone else on the ballot, but he would fulfill his entire term. Yeah, I've heard no talk of otherwise. And that reality check where we started, he will have to decide this. This cannot be taken from him. He has the delegates. And that's why the White House and the campaign both say in their statements he is the nominee, which today is true. And actually has done a great job. And it all could come crashing down officially as early as Sunday, right? That's right. So be watching the next 24 to 48 hours for something to happen within that realm. It could very well be that he remains in the race.
Starting point is 00:13:54 But the pressure is on right now on President Biden. His party has basically abandoned him in so many aspects. And so let's see what happens. You know, the politics are changing every single day as we move forward in election 2024. I want to give you an update on the murder plot to kill President Donald Trump this past Saturday. And I shared some information yesterday that wasn't seen on many mainstream outlets. There were four separate sniper positions, two Secret Service and two local, that were monitoring the Trump rally. And there's only a handful of outlets that are reporting that.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Senator Josh Hawley, though, today has gathered some whistleblowers that say most of the Trump rally security were not even secret service. Yes, you read that right, folks. Senator Josh Hawley from Missouri wrote on X on Friday that whistleblowers tell me that most, most of Trump's security detail working the event last Saturday were not even Secret Service. They were members of the Department of Homeland Security that were assigned unprepared and inexperienced. Now, it goes on to say in this message on Twitter, currently X, DHS assigned unprepared and inexperienced personnel.
Starting point is 00:15:22 He added, posting a letter he sent today to U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alexander Mayorkas, whistleblowers who have direct knowledge of the event have approached my office, that's Senator Hawley's office. According to the allegations, the July 13th rally was considered to be a, what they call, a loose security event. For example, detection canines were not used to monitor entry and detect threats in the usual manner. Individuals without proper designations were able to gain access to backstage areas. Department personnel did not appropriately police the security buffer around the podium and were also not stationed at regular intervals around the event's security perimeter. In addition, whistleblower allegations suggest the majority of DHS officials were not, in fact,
Starting point is 00:16:15 USS or Secret Service agents, but instead drawn from the department's Homeland Security investigations. Now, this is especially concerning given that HSI agents were unfamiliar with standard protocols typically used at these events according to the allegations. That's coming from Senator Hall. If that's the case, that they were buffering up the security detail with security people from the Department of Homeland Security. It was as if they were inviting an opportunity for something to happen at the Trump rally. I hope Senator Hawley is able to get these whistleblowers out there and to get this information out to the American people and find out who really is involved in the murder plot to take out President Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:17:08 And so we're going to find out more as we keep moving forward here on this investigation. President Trump, of course, was at the RNC convention last night, the final night of the RNC convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. President Trump gave an excellent speech, an inspiring speech. I'm not going to share any excerpts from this. You have every opportunity or probably already seen the speech that President Trump gave. He had a moving moment during his speech where he went over and kissed the helmet of the former fire chief that had been killed at the Trump rally this past Saturday.
Starting point is 00:17:46 They had the uniform on stage with Donald Trump. It was quite the moving moment. But leading up to Trump's speech, it was like nothing you'd ever seen before. This was an entertainment spectacle as they brought out some interesting folks to represent the revived Republican Party. Dana White, the president of the UFC, Ultimate Fighting Championship Organization, was actually the one that introduced Donald Trump to come out. Usually that's reserved for a family member or a close political ally. But Donald Trump chose to have Dana White, the guy in charge of the UFC, to make that introduction. Now, they're longtime friends, of course, but that just fit in with the total aura of the evening.
Starting point is 00:18:38 I shared yesterday that the announcement was made that Hulk Hogan was going to be one of the speakers at the RNC last night. And I shared with you what I hoped would have been the entrance. It wasn't the entrance I had hoped for, but the performance that Hulk Hogan gave during the RNC convention was one for the books. Watch this. But what happened last week when they took a shot at my hero? And they tried to kill the next president of the United States. Enough was enough.
Starting point is 00:19:20 And I said, let Trump-a-mania run wild, brother. Let Trump-a-mania rule again. Let Trump-a-mania make America great again. And that theme kind of went through the whole evening, not too much longer after Hulk Hogan made that demonstration. And, folks, I've been watching politics for 30-plus years. I've never seen anything like this. They brought out Kid Rock to address the RNC convention, and he did it the only way he knew how.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Watch this. We're ready for President Trump to take the stage. I need everybody to stand up. I need everybody to put a fist up in the air. Everybody, get a fist up in the air. Now follow me. Say fight, fight. Say fight, fight. Say fight, fight. It was quite the show last night in the new Republican Party.
Starting point is 00:20:51 They'll take abortion and marriage out of the Republican platform, but they'll have Hulk Hogan and Kid Rock perform at the convention. Now, there was one other aspect, and you had to stay up to watch this until the end. President Trump's speech went about 90 minutes last night. And at the end of the convention, and it seemed out of place at the time, but when you consider the possible message involved, I think it might open some eyes. This last night was definitely a Trump event. All right. It was definitely there was nothing that went on last night that Donald Trump did not previously approve, including the closing song of the convention. And this is performed by opera singer Christopher Macho. And he's singing
Starting point is 00:21:41 a song that's called Nessim Dorma, which means no one sleeps. I'll play you just a clip of this. E sonorimo, e sonorimo, dopo la principessa nella tua predastanza, CHOIR SINGS Now, the song goes on for a full three and a half minutes. It's a beautiful song, Nosoma Dorma. And as I mentioned, it means no one sleeps. Now, think about this just a moment. Throughout the evening, we've seen performances by Kid Rock and others, Hulk Hogan. It was definitely a Trump production.
Starting point is 00:23:12 So why this particular song at the very end of the Trump-managed RNC convention? Well, perhaps it's a clue. Perhaps he's sending a message. Mr. Trump loves music, and he approves all the music at his rallies. So what does this opera song represent? What does it mean? Well, this particular song, as luck would have it, appears at the end of a movie back from 2002. I don't know if you ever saw it or not, but it's the Ben Affleck movie, an adaptation of Tom Clancy's novel, The Sum of All Fears. At the end of the movie, this is the song that is sung at the end of that movie.
Starting point is 00:23:56 It's sung in the scene where all the players that were involved in orchestrating a nuclear attack on the United States, the song goes on as each one of these deep state players were eliminated along the way. I think it's interesting that this particular song was chosen at the end of the Republican National Convention. Was it a message to the deep state that your time is coming. Your time is up. Time will tell then, won't it? So, all right. I want to give you an update on what's happening over in Israel today. And of course, the activities of the IDF continue. There were 140 people that were killed in an IDF continued. There were 140 people that were killed in an IDF strike over the past couple of days. But Israel now is experiencing direct drone attacks within Israeli territory itself. So if you see the headline there on the screen, it says, explosive drone from Yemen hits Tel Aviv apartment,
Starting point is 00:25:02 killing man and wounding others. Now, this is actually the second drone attack within the past 48 hours. There was another one back two days ago. So let's look at the article first here, and then I'll have some comments and analysis. An explosive-laden drone launched by Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen struck an apartment building in central Tel Aviv in the pre-dawn hours of Friday morning, killing an Israeli man and wounding several others. According to an initial investigation carried out by the IDF, the unmanned aerial vehicle had been identified, but due to human error, it was not engaged by air defenses. Now, it's important to keep that last phrase in mind. As no action was taken
Starting point is 00:25:45 against the identified target, later confirmed to be a long-range attack drone, this is 14A for control, no warning signs had sounded. The drone directly impacted an apartment building in Tel Aviv at 3.12 a.m. After reaching Israel from Yemen, the drone strike made its way to Tel Aviv from the direction of the sea, IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a press conference. The drone, identified by the IDF as an Iranian-made Samad-3,
Starting point is 00:26:17 which had been modified to have an extended range, had flown to the country for several hours at low altitude, according to the probe. Now, the reason why this is important, Iran just figured out how to attack the interior of Israel. And that's by using drones because the Iron Dome did not stop these two drone attacks within the boundaries of the state of Israel. And so I believe that you're going to see some escalation at this point. Iran has now figured out that you can bypass the Iron Dome system if you have the right technology. I don't know if I have enough time for this particular story, but I will say this, that it was on this
Starting point is 00:26:58 day in history, back in AD 64, back in AD 64, that Rome caught on fire. So I think it's interesting that in that particular case, Nero was often accused of starting a fire. We don't know for sure, but he certainly benefited from it because the area of Rome that burned down allowed him to be able to rebuild it later with the cooler stuff that he wanted to build. The fire in Rome was blamed by Nero on Christians. It was their fault that Rome burned. Now, Nero didn't fiddle while Rome burned because the fiddle hadn't been invented yet, but he certainly did not stop the fires from happening, and he certainly did blame Christians for that. Folks, America is on fire, and when trouble comes, sometimes they blame people of faith.

Welcome to Morning Manor, I'm Doc Burkhart. So glad to have you with us here on a beautiful Friday morning on the east coast of the United States. We're live with you here at 8 a.m. You might be listening to us at other times throughout the day or night. If you are, hey, we welcome you no matter where you are, anywhere in the world, and what time you
Starting point is 00:29:42 listen. So we appreciate you tuning in today. I'd like to remind you at the end of our lesson today, we will be doing morning manna. So I invite you to have ready by the end of our Bible study today, the elements of bread and either grape juice or red wine. And we will participate in the Lord's Supper together here at the end of our Bible study. We're going to continue our study today in Matthew chapter 15. In fact, we're going to continue in what we started on yesterday with the Canaanite woman. So that's going to be part of our overall study today. So let's open up a word of prayer, and then we'll jump right in, shall we?
Starting point is 00:30:24 Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, thank you for this wonderful, glorious day. part of our overall study today. So let's open up a word of prayer, and then we'll jump right in, shall we? Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, thank you for this wonderful, glorious day. And we ask you, Lord, that your Holy Spirit's presence would be near to us. We invite the Holy Spirit here to guide us and teach us, Lord, and help us to understand your word. Lord, give us spiritual insight as we study together. In Jesus' name, amen and amen. You may notice that Rick is not here with us today. He has obligations outside of the ministry today that he needs to address, and so he will likely not be here Monday as well, but I hope you'll have some patience with me as I fly solo today. So God bless you for sticking around. We're going to reread Matthew 15, 21 through 28. We started in this passage yesterday, only got through a couple verses. So let's go ahead and read it because I want the whole context of everything we're studying here. Verse 21 of
Starting point is 00:31:16 chapter 15 reads, Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coast of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coast and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David. My daughter is grievously vexed with the devil. But he answered her not a word, and his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she crieth after us. But he answered and said,
Starting point is 00:31:40 I am not sent, but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And I keep that in mind here as we go through our study today then came she and worshiped him saying lord help me and the answer and said it is not meat to take the children's bread and to cast it to dogs and by the way uh that word dogs there should be uh translated little dogs or puppies. Okay. And she said, truth, Lord, get the little dogs, the puppies, eat of the crumbs which fall from their master's table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, A woman that great is thy faith and be it unto thee even as thou wilt.
Starting point is 00:32:19 And her very hour and her daughter was made whole from that very hour. God bless the reading of his word today. Yesterday, just a quick review before we jump in here. We talked about Tyre and Sidon. These are Gentile cities. They're mentioned numerous times throughout the Old Testament. Some in a negative context, some in a positive context. Prophetically, though, the major prophets, Isaiah,
Starting point is 00:32:46 Ezekiel, Joel, Amos, when they mentioned Tyre and Sidon, they mentioned the judgment that was coming upon them. This is after the days of Solomon's Temple, because Tyre and Sidon actually provided a lot of the building materials for Solomon's Temple.
Starting point is 00:33:02 But we covered that yesterday. But prophetically, when you, in Jesus' day, if you were to mention Tyre and Sidon, it would be synonymous with judgment, almost like Sodom and Gomorrah. So for Jesus, leaving where he and the disciples were,
Starting point is 00:33:21 and then going across to the region of Tyre and Sidon, a Gentile area. He'd been in Bethsaida, he'd been in Chorazin, he'd been in Capernaum, and he actually expressed judgment on those cities because they rejected the Lord. And Jesus said earlier in Matthew chapter 11. That if these miracles had been done in you. You Jewish cities had been done in Tyre and Sidon. Gentile cities. They would have repented.
Starting point is 00:33:54 And so Jesus is putting that to the test today. Jesus purposely went to Tyre and Sidon. Gentile cities mind you. Okay. So that brings us up here to the last part of 22 into 23, and the reason why the Gentile woman, the Canaanite woman, she's mentioned as a Canaanite woman, a woman of Canaan, the history-long enemies of Israel. Canaanite woman, a woman of Canaan, the history-long enemies of Israel. Canaanite woman comes to Jesus, recognizes him as the son of David, and also recognizes that Jesus has the power to heal her daughter, which is grievously vexed by a devil.
Starting point is 00:34:42 That brings us up here to verse 23 today. What was Jesus' response? Verse 23 we read, But he answered her not a word, and his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away for a craft after us. Now, it
Starting point is 00:35:00 may seem a great lack of compassion on Jesus' part not to respond to her. But it was all part of the Lord's plan in order to see the glory of him and the Father be made manifest. And it was also a way to see if she truly truly desired healing for her daughter now you may say well of course you did but you know this is just something to think about something for you to consider there um he desires to uh the lord desires to heal there's nothing in him uh that says do not heal he desires it he desires to touch you where you're at.
Starting point is 00:35:45 But it may not be his timing. And so. We also have to rest with that as well. That there are times where. We are seeking healing. For our own situation. Our own bodies. But we want it on our timetable.
Starting point is 00:36:00 Instead of the Lord's. But he answered her not a word. Saint Augustine had a great phrase regarding this particular passage of scripture. He said, the word spoke not a word. Now I want you to contemplate that for just a moment. The word spoke not a word in this circumstance that's from saint augustine i believe that the widow woman at some point i mean a widow woman this canaanite woman
Starting point is 00:36:34 uh had experienced some uh some uh aspect of the word of God in her life. Because she recognized Jesus as the Son of David and also recognized that he had the ability to heal. So, I maintain as I've contemplated this passage of Scripture, she was responding
Starting point is 00:37:01 to the Word already. She was responding to the Word already. She was responding to the word already, because there's no way a Gentile could know, just out of logic or anything else, or by casual conversation, say that Jesus was the son of David. So she had responded. I don't know when.
Starting point is 00:37:22 I don't know how. Maybe she was sitting outside a synagogue window and heard the word of God being preached. I don't know. But the fact of the matter that she recognized Jesus as the son of David, as the Jewish Messiah, and still sought Jesus out is fascinating to me. So Jesus' answer is not a word, and there's a reason for it as we get into the passage here. I think you'll understand, you know, how it's all shaking out here. The disciples came and besought him, saying, send her away, for she crieth after us. Send her away, for she crieth after us.
Starting point is 00:38:06 So who lacked compassion for this woman? Did Jesus lack compassion for this woman, or did the disciples lack compassion for this woman, this Canaanite woman? Okay. The disciples came to Jesus and saying, for this woman, this Canaanite woman. Okay? The disciples came to Jesus and saying, send her away for she cries after us. Now, just as a reminder,
Starting point is 00:38:33 Jesus had sent the disciples out before this to go and preach and to heal. And yet in this circumstance here, they're coming to Jesus and said, you've got to get rid of her so I have to ask myself okay why were the disciples so intent on having the Canaanite woman expelled why were they intent on having the Canaanite woman expelled? I believe, this is my understanding of this passage, I believe it's because she was a Gentile.
Starting point is 00:39:15 And that she was not, you know, she wasn't part of the promise. Okay? Now that's my opinion, and as we get into the rest of this passage, I think you'll see it fits that. Verse 24 says, now listen to Jesus' response to
Starting point is 00:39:34 his disciples, to their request to send her away. And I can't help but that Canaanite woman is sitting over here, maybe even hearing this conversation going on, okay? He answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. So was this the restraint that was on jesus to not heal the woman or was jesus setting this up
Starting point is 00:40:13 to show the disciples and anyone else that was nearby that the good news of the kingdom was no longer limited to a genetic profile of people who claim to be Jews. Okay? But I believe it's the latter. Okay? And this is coming from my years of ministry experience, my study of the Word. I believe it's the latter. I think the rest of the passage will reflect that as well.
Starting point is 00:40:39 So he says, I am come to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, which is true, which is true. Which is absolutely true. Okay. He was called to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And so let's go ahead and continue with the passage here, because I think things are going to hit together for you here pretty quick.
Starting point is 00:41:04 And so verse 25 says, now this is it. That's why I believe she was hearing the conversation and Jesus wanted her to hear that conversation. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me, which means that she got down on the ground and started worshipping the Lord.
Starting point is 00:41:25 Lord, help me. Lord, help me, which means that she got down on the ground and started worshiping the Lord. Lord, help me. Lord, help me. And now Jesus responds to the Canaanite woman here, and it seems harsh. It seems harsh, but listen, there's a plan. There's a method to the madness, if you will. I'm not saying that Jesus was mad or anything, but that there was a plan that was in place. Okay?
Starting point is 00:41:52 So she's a Gentile. Gentile woman. Unclean to the Jews. Unclean to the disciples. And technically unclean to Jesus, too. But does Jesus see her that way? This is why I believe that there's a firm foundation in the New Testament that the gospel was
Starting point is 00:42:10 no longer limited to the Jews. Okay? The gospel is not limited to the Jews at all. So she came and worshiped him saying, Lord, help me. Help me. Alright, you're a Gentile.
Starting point is 00:42:26 You're a Gentile man or a Gentile woman. Generally, most of you are, I would assume. And how did you come to Jesus? Well, the Holy Spirit drew you, of course, but you also cried out to the Lord, didn't you? You cried out, Lord, oh Lord, have mercy on me. Back up in verse 22. We have to recognize that there's nothing in us that deserves anything we get from God. We don't deserve healing. We don't deserve provision.
Starting point is 00:43:02 We don't deserve anything. We don't even deserve mercy. We don't even deserve that part. We don't deserve help. We don't deserve it. That doesn't mean we can't get it. I'm just saying we don't deserve it. We don't deserve mercy, and yet she recognized enough of the Lord's presence, either through the Word or someone speaking to her, or maybe even direct revelation from God to save this woman. We don't know how she went about this, but she recognized that this son of David could have mercy on her
Starting point is 00:43:34 and that this son of David could heal her daughter. Okay? And then we get back down here to verse 25 then came she and worshipped him saying Lord help me so let's get an understanding of
Starting point is 00:43:52 of the need of this woman in her life she cried out to the Lord for mercy recognized that he was the son of David the Messiah the Jewish Messiah a Jewish Gentile woman recognizing the Jewish Messiah, a Gentile woman recognizing the Jewish Messiah and recognizing that Jesus had the power to heal her daughter.
Starting point is 00:44:12 And she recognized all these things. And I'm of the opinion that somehow the word of God had been preached to her or taught to her at some point in the past. I can't prove that. That's just speculation on my part. But she was responding as if the word had been preached to her. And then there was one more thing she said, and this was after she overheard the conversation with Jesus and the disciples.
Starting point is 00:44:35 At least I believe she overheard it. Then came she and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me. Notice that that next step in the Canaanite woman's response was what? Worship. Worship. Worship. Worship. And that even wasn't enough.
Starting point is 00:44:55 Because in worship, she recognized her need. And recognized that she was not worthy of healing. Well, I got news for her. None of us not worthy of healing. Well, I got news for her. None of us are worthy of healing. But for her, seeing the Jewish Messiah, knowing I'm not worthy of that, I'm not worthy of it at all. Jesus answered her.
Starting point is 00:45:22 This is verse number 26 here. Jesus answered her this is verse number 26 here Jesus answered and said it is not meat to take the children's bread and to cast it to dogs now generally when this is interpreted this verse 26 a lot of the commentators out
Starting point is 00:45:38 there say that Jesus called this woman a dog I'm of the opinion that is definitely not the case say that Jesus called this woman a dog. I'm of the opinion that is definitely not the case. He was not calling this woman a dog. Now, I will say this. Dogs, according to Mosaic law, are generally unclean.
Starting point is 00:45:59 Okay? A lot of Jewish folks didn't have dogs. Okay? Unless they were kind of the Sadducee class and didn't recognize some of the different things along that line. Now, so that's a significant part of the storytelling because Jesus had to know that. He had to know that. But the Canaanites, the folks that are living in Tyre and Sidon,
Starting point is 00:46:23 they had dogs. Dogs were part of the family. And a lot of you, your dog is part of the family, right? And I have to say, I got some comments here a couple weeks ago when I was on True News. I made a remark about RFK Jr. eating a dog. Turned out that was a goat. It was all fake news and everything and I made a statement to me it wouldn't matter if it was a dog if he ate it that's okay you know several people wrote me and say how can you say that about dogs and it wasn't meant to say I love dogs I love to eat them okay it was just to say
Starting point is 00:47:01 there's to me is whether it's a camel, whether it's a dog, whatever it is, it's no longer unclean. I lived in Korea for a while where, you know, they eat dogs. But in this case, Jesus was not equating the dog, not calling this woman a dog okay in fact that word that is translated dogs there are little dogs okay so let's read it again here with the proper translation he answered and said it is not meat to take the children's bread and cast it to little dogs. What's a little dog? Well, we're not talking chihuahuas or anything like that. We're talking about puppies, okay? And he answered and said, it is not meat to take the
Starting point is 00:47:54 children's bread and to cast it to puppies. So this is the Lord's response to the Canaanite woman in a general response to his disciples as well. Jesus had to know that she knew some of the word, enough of the word, to recognize that his first priority was to the nation of Israel, to the people of Israel. And so Jesus makes a statement, hey, I have a mission here, and it's to the Israelites, but think about this. I want you to think really hard about this.
Starting point is 00:48:31 Jesus says here, I'm sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Where did he go? Where was he? He says, I am sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. But where did he purposely go? A Gentile
Starting point is 00:48:50 area. You got it. A Gentile area. Think really hard about that. Was Jesus going to Tyre and Sidon for the future members of Israel, Gentiles coming into the kingdom.
Starting point is 00:49:11 You're right. The Pharisees weren't looking for Jesus in Tyre and Sidon. But the fact of the matter is Jesus purposely went. And as soon as this whole healing takes place later on in this passage, he goes right back where he came from. He goes right back. Isn't this something to think about? You and I, Jesus sought us out to see if we had faith to believe him.
Starting point is 00:49:44 Jesus sought us out. He went to the coast of Tyre believe him. Jesus sought us out. He went to the coast of Tyre and Sidon to seek us out. Praise God. Isn't that something? She worshiped, said, Lord, help me. He answered and said, It is not meat to take the children's bread and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth. So she recognized what children's bread and to cast it to dogs. And she said truth.
Starting point is 00:50:05 So she recognized what Jesus was saying was accurate. Yes, Lord, you are absolutely right. You were sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Okay? That's absolutely true, Lord. Yet the little dogs, the puppies, eat of the crumbs which fall from their master's table. What an amazing level of faith that this woman had.
Starting point is 00:50:35 What an amazing level of faith. And she understood when the Word spoke the Word, Jesus was absolutely accurate in saying it is not meat to give the children's bread and cast it the dogs he was absolutely right and she recognized that the word spoke the word and yet she also knew enough of the word that that taught her whether it was by divine revelation or whether somebody physically taught her that the the heart the Old Testament, the heart of the law and the prophets was mercy.
Starting point is 00:51:11 Mercy. And she believed the word. She believed the word. Truth, Lord, yet the dogs eat of the crumbs that fall from the master table. The puppies eat of the crumbs that fall from the master table the puppies eat of the crumbs would fall from the master table and what was Jesus's response to that Jesus's response to the Canaanite woman
Starting point is 00:51:34 at that point Jesus said unto her O woman great is thy faith be unto thee even as thy wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. Praise God. What an amazing story. What an amazing story. Over in Mark, the same companion scripture says that Jesus spoke, and on her way back home, the devil had been delivered from her daughter.
Starting point is 00:52:13 Jesus didn't even physically have to go to her house to heal her daughter. Praise God. Isn't that wonderful? Isn't that something to just chew on all day today? Praise God. Isn't that wonderful? Isn't that something to just chew on all day today? Praise God. We are in that same boat. The only thing that that Canaanite woman had to go on was her understanding of the Word of God and obeying the Word.
Starting point is 00:52:42 That was the only thing she had to go on. Now, she had heard about Jesus. She had heard about the miracles that That was the only thing she had to go on. Now she had heard about Jesus. She had heard about the miracles that he was doing. Everything else involved with that. But to recognize that he was the Messiah. That he was able to heal. That she could continue to ask.
Starting point is 00:52:58 And that she knew enough of the word to know that the Lord would have mercy. Mercy. Mercy. Mercy. Mercy. And I maintain Jesus rescued a lost sheep of the house of Israel in this passage.
Starting point is 00:53:17 Praise God. And you're one of the lost sheep of the house of Israel too. Just because you're not Jewish doesn't mean you don't have access. Look at this Canaanite woman here. God granted her mercy. God granted her access because she believed by faith. It's like it says in Hebrews chapter 11, when Moses obeyed the Lord. His righteousness, his obedience to what the word spoke was counted to him for righteousness.
Starting point is 00:53:49 His willingness to believe the word, his faith was counted to him for righteousness. It's the same thing for you and I. Our faith is counted to us for righteousness. I am just so grateful as a Gentile man to have that mercy in my life. Aren't you? Praise God. Well, folks, we're going to take the next few minutes to enter into the Lord's Supper, the communion today. And I ask that if you have the elements of bread and fruit of the vine with you,
Starting point is 00:54:27 that you would get those in preparation here. Who can participate in the Lord's Supper? If you have confessed Jesus Christ publicly, and you've been baptized in water in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, according to the Scriptures, you're welcome to participate in this, the Lord's Supper. And we let this be a matter of the heart, and let this be a matter of you searching your heart along with the Holy Spirit looking at you.
Starting point is 00:54:51 I'm going to pray right now that the Lord would check our hearts, and then we'll go right into the Lord's Supper immediately after this. So let's pray. Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, thank you for the wonderful opportunity here once again, Lord, to come before you and participate in the Lord's Supper. We ask you, Lord, that you would look at our hearts here today, that you would check our hearts to see if there's anything that stands between us and you.
Starting point is 00:55:15 Let there be no roadblocks. Let there be nothing that stands in the way from your Holy Spirit working in our lives and your salvation going deeper and deeper into us and being made manifest in our lives our words our actions lord if there's anything lord that stands in the way i receive everything that we can receive from you i ask you to search it out root it out dig it out lord we confess that in jesus name amen and All right, so if you've got the elements of communion ready, I pray that you've got those together here. What I'm going to do first of all is I'm going to pray over the elements of communion and ask the Lord to bless it. And you may say,
Starting point is 00:55:56 why do you need to do that? I think it's necessary to pray and to pray for the Lord to do His work through the Lord's Supper. I've had comments from people saying, you know, I think I got saved today. And they were already confessing believers. But when they participated in the Lord's Supper, it's been a while, they were emotionally and spiritually moved with a new sense of following
Starting point is 00:56:22 as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Okay? And I pray that's the case with you. That every time that we enter into this covenant relationship through the Lord's Supper, that it would also compel you to be so grateful for the salvation that you've received. Jesus sought us out, folks.
Starting point is 00:56:42 He sought us lost sheep out. Amen? All right, let's pray over the elements of communion and then we'll participate together. Jesus sought us out, folks. He sought us lost sheep out. Amen. All right, let's pray over the elements of communion, and then we'll participate together. Almighty God, in your tender mercy, you gave your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer death upon the cross for our redemption. He offered himself and made once for all time
Starting point is 00:57:00 a perfect and sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. He instituted this remembrance of his passion and death, which he commanded us to continue until he comes again. So, Father, we ask you to bless and sanctify with your word and Holy Spirit these gifts of bread and wine that we may partake of his most blessed body and blood. Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed once for all upon the cross. Therefore, let us keep the feast. Hallelujah.
Starting point is 00:57:29 On the night that he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take, eat, this is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. The body of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was given for you, preserve your body and soul to everlasting life. This is the bread of heaven.
Starting point is 00:57:59 Take and eat in remembrance that Christ died for you. Amen. After supper, Jesus took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them saying drink this all of you this is my blood of the new covenant which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins whenever you drink it do this
Starting point is 00:58:18 in remembrance of me praise God the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ which is shed for you Praise God. Feed on him by faith with thanksgiving that Christ died for you. Praise God. If this is your first time with us today, first time receiving communion online like this, be encouraged that nearly 300 people around the world
Starting point is 00:59:01 also join together with you in this most holy of remembrances and institutions of the church. And so we encourage you to live for him.
