A Texas judge has ordered the FBI to surrender the laptop that once belonged to Seth Rich, the Democratic National Committee employee who was mysteriously murdered during the 2016 presidential campaign between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Let's begin today's True News with a discussion about a Newsweek article titled, Seth Rich's to be turned over by FBI judge rules. Doc, Seth Rich is back in the news just in time for the 2024 election. So this is what Newsweek is reporting. A judge has ordered the FBI to turn over the laptop of murdered Democrat staffer Seth Rich.

Texas Judge Amos Mazant ordered a timeline for the disclosure of information on Seth Rich's personal laptop, Seth Rich's work laptop, the DVD and tape drive within 14 days following issuance of this Memorandum of Opinion and Order, which was issued Wednesday. So, Doc, the FBI is now under order from a judge to turn over the laptop, to release it to the public. Right. And not just one laptop, now learning two. Yes, we're learning now there's two and a DVD and a tape drive. Right. So it goes on to say, Rich, who worked for the Democratic National Committee,

was killed on July 10, 2016, while making his way home from a night out in Washington, D.C. Newsweek said the 27-year-old was speaking to his girlfriend on the phone when shots were heard. His death has, in the years since, of course, been used by right-wing activists to fuel far-reaching theories about Democrats. While a killer has not been found, police have said evidence indicates he was the victim of a botched robbery, even though nothing was stolen. That's right.

That's how botched it was. They killed him, but they didn't bother to rob the dead body. That was the story. The ruling is the latest in a long-running freedom of information battle between the FBI and Ty Clevenger, an attorney representing the plaintiff, who is Texas-based Brian Huddleston. Huddleston first submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the FBI on September 1st, 2017, requesting information relating to his investigation into Rich's potential involvement in DNC email leaks in June 2016. Remember, this is all about Hillary Clinton's emails.

Right. This was the controversy about Hillary Clinton. And in particular, a large batch of emails from the Democratic National Committee, including emails from the Podestas and so forth, were released during the campaign. Newsweek goes on to say, although the FBI responded to Huddleston's request two weeks later, saying they were unable to locate any responsive main files. It was later unveiled that the FBI had over 20,000 pages of potentially relevant material. Of these, 1,596 pages were directly related to Seth Rich. Another 1,496 pages were withheld due to Freedom of Information Act exemptions.

Which means they probably had to do with either national security or a high-level individual that shall not be named. That the FBI was going to protect, like the FBI is protecting the Bidens. Right. Now, Doc, who did the judge order to turn over the laptop? The FBI. Well, then that would mean the FBI has the laptop, right? That would be the assumption. The laptop, the work laptop, a DVD drive, and another drive.

Well, let's go back in time. This is the story, May 22, 2017, ABC News. FBI is not involved in the Seth Rich case, despite conspiracy theories. Well, if they're not involved... How did they get the laptop? Right. See, that was a lie in 2017.

That was a flat-out lie in 2017. ABC News reported the FBI is not involved in the Seth Rich case. It's only conspiracy theories. It's just conspiracy theories about his murder. Everybody knows it was a botched robbery. There's no FBI investigation. The FBI doesn't know anything about it. It's a local investigation.

Yes. The investigation. Yes. The D.C. Police Department is investigating, not the FBI. Now, think about that. Think about that, folks. The FBI has been involved in this case since the very beginning, even though it was a local crime. Right. By the way, the police chief of Washington, D.C. at that time resigned unexpectedly five weeks after Seth Rich was murdered. So the FBI and ABC News in 2017 lied to the American people and said, the FBI is not involved in this case. Well, then how did the FBI get its hands on a laptop, a DVD, and a tape drive?

The FBI collects a lot of laptops. They seem to lose laptops, too, don't they? They do. Or bury them. Yeah, where's Anthony Weiner's laptop? Yes. The one that the FBI seized from the New York City Police Department that was investigating child pornography. And what about the Biden laptop, which they said we didn't have anything to do with.

And then they had it for several years. Yes. I think they had it going back to 2019. So the FBI has an active laptop collection department and storage program. So I want to go back to this 2017 article, ABC News. This is the lie that they told the American people in 2017. FBI and other law enforcement officials are privately knocking down a conspiracy theory today fueled by conservative commentators on Fox News. Now listen to what it was doing, Doc.

The conspiracy theory. The conspiracy theory was diverting attention from Russia's involvement in hacking the Democratic National Committee last year. This is back when the media was actively lying about Russia hacked the election. Right. And it's been proven repeatedly that the entire Russia hacked the election story was a hoax. Yes. And yet ABC has never apologized for lying.

None of the media, no one has come forward to say, okay, we got caught, we lied. We repeatedly lied. We deceived the public. But this is what the people were being told in 2017. The FBI and law enforcement officials are knocking down a conspiracy theory. And this conspiracy theory is seeking to divert attention from the real crime.

Russia hacked the election and got Trump elected. A conspiracy theory, according to ABC News, suggested that a DNC staffer, that would be Seth Rich, was murdered to cover up his involvement in passing information to WikiLeaks. Go ahead, Doc, and let's finish that. Well, according to officials with knowledge of the matter, the FBI is not investigating, now this is 2017, May of 2017, that the FBI is not investigating the unsolved murder of Seth Rich last year. And what agents have determined was a possible, they say possible attempted robbery, gone wrong. Asked about the possible connection between Rich, Seth Rich, and WikiLeaks,

one official told ABC News that the only place I've seen that, Rick, is through the conspiracy theories online. Well, there is some truth in that statement. The FBI is not investigating the unsolved murder of Seth Rich. That's true. They did not investigate it. They covered it up. So we've got to give ABC a little credit there. They did report the truth.

The FBI was not investigating. Zero Hedge had this report. Federal judge orders FBI to finally release Seth Rich's laptop. But this is what I want you to see inside. Many suspect Rich was the source of the leaked DNC emails provided to WikiLeaks. Rumor which was fueled by the odd circumstances surrounding his death, the sudden retirement of D.C. Police Chief Kathy Lanier five weeks after the murder, and an email John Podesta sent to Hillary's inner circle about making an example of a suspected leaker written more than a year before the death of Seth Rich.

We actually have that Podesta tweet. This is from WikiLeaks, and they're doing a repost of this. This is from back in 2016, Rick. Podesta, I'm definitely for making an example of a suspected leaker, whether or not we have any real basis for it. And this has come from the Podesta emails on the WikiLeaks site. Okay. Doc, I see two things in that tweet from Podesta. He's saying, I want to make an example of a suspected leaker. Number two, whether we have any evidence or not. Right. Somebody's going to pay for it. Whether we have evidence or not, somebody's going to pay because Hillary was embarrassed.

Right. Somebody's going to pay. On this, still from WikiLeaks, the date that this was published was just a couple months after the death of Seth Rich. And so that's when WikiLeaks posted this. But it comes from an email, Rick, from more than a year before. If you notice the date on that, February 22, 2015. And so they probably knew the identity of possible leakers a year before the death of Seth Rich. Well, Julian Assange probably knew something about it, too. And where is Julian right now? Basically, you may as well call it prison because he can't do anything. He's hanging on for his life.

He may be dead for all we know. This is a video interview back when Assange could still do interviews. He was, at the time, was in exile living in the embassy of Ecuador in London. He was in the Ecuador embassy taking refuge. And he was, Ecuador was allowing him to give a limited number of interviews. This is Julian Assange years ago. This is what he said about Seth Rich. Donald Trump has had a disastrous few weeks.

If you look at the polls, he needs a miracle. In the American political lexicon, there's such a thing as the October surprise. The stuff that you're sitting on, is an October surprise in there? We never sit on it. Do you even know what you're sitting on? WikiLeaks never sits on material. Our whistleblowers go to significant efforts to get us material and often very significant risks.

There's a 27-year-old that works for the DNC who was shot in the back, murdered just two weeks ago for unknown reasons as he was walking down the street in Washington. So— That was just a robbery, I believe, wasn't it? No, there's no finding. What are you suggesting? I'm suggesting that our sources take risks and they become concerned to see things occurring like that. But was he one of your sources then?

We don't comment on who our sources are. But why make the suggestion about a young guy being shot in the streets of Washington? Because we have to understand how high the stakes are in the United States and that our sources are, you know, our sources face serious risks. That's why they come to us, so we can protect their anonymity. But it's quite something to suggest a murder. That's basically what you're doing. Well, others have suggested that. We are investigating to understand what happened in that situation with Seth Rich. I think it is a concerning situation. There's not a conclusion yet. We wouldn't be willing to

state a conclusion, but we are concerned about it. And more importantly, a variety of Wikileaks sources are concerned. The disciples asked Jesus about the end of the age. What could be more frightening than an economic collapse, Rick? An artificial intelligence cyber theft. That's what this man is warning about, that AI will become the most frightening thief on the planet. I've never heard anybody talking about AI as a thief. This man's saying it's going to rob people. It's going to be smarter than all the banks. There won't be anybody who can put up a cyber wall of protection against AI.
