Starting point is 00:00:00 Everybody talked about it since I first moved to Oregon. The big one, the earthquake that trashed the whole west coast, total destruction. Officially calling it the largest natural disaster in American history. I just didn't know what would help me next. So I took it all. Even the gun. It was time. Selo?
Starting point is 00:00:21 American Afterlife, presented by pair of thieves, the number one fiction and drama podcast in America. Listen wherever you get your favorite podcasts. Available now. Stephen Dean are back with you here, as always, and happy to be back for this new episode of UAP, the Unidentified Alien podcast. And today I'm happy to bring back an old friend of the show, Stephen Bassett, really one of the big names in the disclosure, fieldly disclosure discussion, especially when it comes to the
Starting point is 00:01:03 Washington, D.C. side of things, because that's where he's stationed. And I was really happy to bring him back on to talk about kind of the inside, kind of the inside look that really only Stephen Bassett can give. And he's been in this field for over 30 years. So it's always great to have a discussion with him and get his insight and his take on some of the things going on. I do want to address something real quick, though, before we get into it and want to tell you what to expect during this discussion here, which today is part one. So I did want to split this up. But I did mention that I was going to be talking to Jason Sands the next time we came back on here to UAP.
Starting point is 00:01:41 I do still plan on doing that. That was the plan. I apologize that did not happen. Something came up with Jason just in his own personal life where he had to delay. I mean, he's fine. Don't worry something like shady or anything like that going on that we need to worry about as far as, you know, like somebody going after him, God forbid. It's nothing like that.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Just, you know, family things he had to deal with. And we had to kind of delay getting together. But we've been still in contact about, you know, when can we do that? So we'll do that as soon as Jason is able. I will have him back on here on UAP. Absolutely looking forward to speaking with Jason Sands. But I'll tell you again, the talk with Stephen Bassett ain't bad either. So when I did get to bring Steve back on here today during this first part of our discussion,
Starting point is 00:02:28 it was as insightful as you think it would be, honestly. We start off talking here about, well, what else? Disclosure when it comes to Stephen Bassett, but also really when it comes to his thoughts and how, this new documentary is going to play, the age of disclosure. You know, there's a lot being said about this. What are people's expectations?
Starting point is 00:02:47 It's getting a lot of attention outside of the UFO community, right? It's getting mainstream attention, which I think is important. So I ask Steve about that, and of course he has his own insights and own point of view there. And I ask him about something that was said recently by Richard Dolan and Colonel Carl Nell, where they were having a kind of a conversation about, is disclosure dead? Is this the end of this particular cycle? Did the cycle go from 2017 to 2025 RIP disclosure cycle?
Starting point is 00:03:21 Is that the case? So I asked, and that was kind of a shocking comment, you know, to hear that not too long ago. So I brought that up with Steve Bassett, and we talked about that, as well as a couple of other things during here in this part one. Again, super insightful, and I was happy to have him on here to bring to you on this episode of UAPs. So I won't delay anymore. I'll just kind of go ahead and get right to it today.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Myself and Stephen Bassett, enjoy this part one. And we'll kind of preview what's the coming part two as well once we're done here today. Enjoy. Well, it's been a while, so I'm happy to have him back on here. Steve Bassett, the great Steve Bassett,
Starting point is 00:03:58 in my opinion, and maybe he'll agree. I know he's humble, but I think one of the great minds when it comes to the UAP disclosure field, happy to have him back on here on UAP. Steve, thanks for joining me here again. Steven, it's always a pleasure. Absolutely. Boy, there is a lot to talk about, that's for sure.
Starting point is 00:04:16 So I'm looking forward to a great discussion here. And I'm going to start actually with one of the more current events. I know we're kind of going to work our way around some different topics. But one of the big things that's being talked about right now, Steve, is the age of disclosure. I'm not talking about the current climate. I'm talking about the documentary from Dan Farah, who, and of course we know who, with this includes Louis Alessando, Jay Stratton. I know Jeff Neusateli, one of the recent witnesses that the congressional hearing is a part of this and so many more Markerubio when he was still Senator Markerubio.
Starting point is 00:04:49 So there's a lot writing on this movie. We've all seen the trailer. What were your impressions when you found out that this was finally going to come out November 21st and you've got to see the trailer like the rest of us? Right now, we're going through a lull, call it a law that's been trick. by pushback from the, I guess you could say, the Department of Defense, at least those in the Department of Defense that care whether they get the truth on this issue or not. They've, I think they've reached out to some witnesses and tried to intimidate some. They published two, they provided two articles through interviews to this Wall Street Journal, which were
Starting point is 00:05:35 grotesely awful. I'm not saying the Wall Street Journal knew that. They were talking and interviewing people that work at the Department of Defense, probably high level. One of them almost certainly, I think they also may have talked to Patrick, Shanker Patrick. And these are terrible articles. And overall, and then, of course, there's some things happening in the United States right
Starting point is 00:05:58 now, which are rather consuming. I'm here this way. I've been through some interesting times. Hell, I was alive and watching the McCarthy hearings. And that's how old I am. And I was kind of a precocious kid. And even at that age, I knew, ooh, this is not good. And then, of course, the entire, I spent a lot of my time during the 60s in Washington, D.C., watching the entire, the most civil rights stuff unfold, the anti-war, the Vietnam movement, all of that.
Starting point is 00:06:33 the Nixon mess was in Washington during that. So, I mean, I've seen a lot of this stuff. What's going on right now is beyond any of that. It is extraordinary. Historians will feast on it for a very long time. And not only that, is it extraordinary. Compared to other times of tumult,
Starting point is 00:06:56 which the country has gone through, this one is happening in the age of universal communication. Right. Where everything is filmed, the citizens are literally part of the whole thing. Everybody's a journalist in a sense. Everybody has a camera. Everybody has a place to post. You have vast numbers, millions of podcasts where people can discuss it and talk about it, get angry, whatever. And so the totality of that is almost overwhelming. All right. So with that in mind, the disclosure movement, which is a movement, it is an activist movement. It's not just an endless research project that never gets to prove anything.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Right. Disclosure movement has definitely had to slow down. It's hitting impediments, but nevertheless, it has been moving forward without a reverse since 2017, without question. And the expectations have grown dramatically as things have unfolded since, 2017. And so when we hit this slowdown, people, there's a lot of people up there that are, they're just very angry. They're irritated. They're, they're venting that this will never happen. We're never going to get disclosure. And then in the meantime, they're going after everybody, and everybody's dumping on each other. It's an opportunity for the debunk.
Starting point is 00:08:29 and the skeptics to come out and play. Oh, yeah. And in general, it's just, it's not what you want. It is what it is. Okay. So as it happens, the Age of Disclosure documentary, which had been in the work for some time, and the original interviews go back quite a ways,
Starting point is 00:08:49 finally emerges. Yeah. Okay. And this was a while back. And so how was it, how did a lot of people, people view it. People that post a lot have strong opinions. Right. In other words, this isn't going to do it, right? This is just more of the same. Some of these people I don't like. Right. And so nothing's coming from this. And they're just dumping all over it. And I,
Starting point is 00:09:16 and I understand that. Yeah. I noticed that too. There was negative reaction within, not totally. I hate to paint with a general blanket, but I saw the negative reaction as well. and within the UFO community, so to speak, of that exact thing. You know, I don't like this person. I don't like that person. But I wonder if you agree with this. Something that I put out was a thought about it really, and I hate to sound matter-of-fact about it. But again, this is just an opinion.
Starting point is 00:09:46 It really shouldn't matter how we feel about someone who's in this documentary. I think what matters is that it gets people's attention who, don't normally talk about this or who wouldn't normally mention it. Case in point, someone like Pat McAfee, who's a huge sports commentator, has a massive following on social media, has a big following you through ESPN and things like that. He retweeted the trailer when it came out. And he has an audience who may never even talk about UFOs. So I kind of think that's where the win is here. Do you think that as well, or am I looking too much into it? Well, you're right.
Starting point is 00:10:27 That's true. But in general, the circumstances of this, everybody that has a beef with anybody in this film or with the film itself. It's not enough. It's the same old. They're voicing that online. The ones that are thinking, that's probably okay, they're not really doing that. There's not a lot of people just running forward to stand up for the film,
Starting point is 00:10:51 except obviously, you know, Dan Fara. and some of the people that are in it. So this is preface to my answer to your question. This film is extremely important. Yeah. It is a very big deal. This whole idea that everything is more of the same and more of the same. Really?
Starting point is 00:11:17 The disclosure process is not about getting all the information out to the public. ultimately. That's not what it's about. The Disclosure activist movement, right? Only the government can do that. Only the government under a UAP Disclosure Act, which we will eventually get, can get this information out. Until the government is willing to do that, which requires confirmation from the president, which is disclosure, capital D, we can prove stuff, we can put stuff out, Okay, and that's information, but is it completely resolved? Is it been supported by peer review analysis? No, and everything is questionable. Whatever you come up with on this issue, the government's refusal to acknowledge that at least until recently, and only in a limited way, the fundamental reality of the phenomena, it doesn't take us anywhere. But there is a huge out of information regarding this subject that if you compiled it all would fill up a fairly sizable building, I think. Certainly, it's a massive amount, but that's not taking us to where we
Starting point is 00:12:33 have to go because we can't move forward until the government's finally relent on this embargo. And so the activist movement is to end the embargo, not get all the information out. So something happens that is going to advance the issue, but everybody that is saying, well, wait a minute, Why aren't you telling me where the ETs are buried? Why don't you have the schematics to one of the saucers? And that's not what we're doing. What we're doing is trying to put the government of the United States in a position where it will in fact disclose, it can disclose, hopefully in an orderly way.
Starting point is 00:13:09 So this movie is important, not because there are startling, profound revelations in it. And I think there are some pretty good information in there. But because it is a high production documentary, high production values, with a whole range where it's taken a very substantial number of people with credentials and accomplishments and curricula vitae, careers and everything else, and degrees, you name it, including inside people, put them into a single dock and just ran this stuff out, piling one on top of the other on top of the other. Now, what's important here, the information is important.
Starting point is 00:13:56 But what is really important is the impact of that on the media and the politicians. Yeah. And so if you're a politician deciding to hold another hearing or whether you're new to the task force or you're another committee that would like to get involved here because the House Oversight subcommittee or the task force on declass. I'm not going to federal seekers getting all the action, and you are able to look at a documentary like this and say, not only, that's, that's pretty powerful. Shopify is the commerce platform behind millions of businesses around the world and 10% of all e-commerce in the U.S. from household names,
Starting point is 00:14:38 like Death Wish Coffee, Brooke Linnon, and Kylie. But what if people haven't heard about your brand? Well, Shopify helps you find your customers with easy-to-run email and social media campaigns. But what if you hit that wall and you get stuck somewhere? Well, no problem because Shopify is always around to share advice with their reward winning 24-7 customer support. Tackle all those important tasks in one place, from inventory to payments to analytics and more. No need to save multiple websites or try to figure out what platform is hosting the tool that you need. Everything is all in one place with Shopify, making your life easier and your business operations so much smoother.
Starting point is 00:15:18 So it's time to turn those what-ifs into, with Shopify today. Sign up for your $1 per month trial today at Shopify.com slash UAP. Go to Shopify.com slash UAP. That's Shopify.com slash UAP. Plus, not to mention the fact that this documentary is going to put out in the world a whole bunch of people that, frankly, many of which qualify to be a witness in front of a hearing, right? So that's good.
Starting point is 00:15:47 And so you're helping it, you're helping to people. people in Congress move forward. You're giving them cover. You're providing them information as well as access. But here is where it gets really interesting. This issue has been going on for 80 years. Right. There have been 600 fiction films about extraterrestrials. That's not all the sci-fi. There's been a lot of sci-fi that didn't have ETs. I'm not counting them. I'm just counting sci-fi films that ADT's in them. They've been seen by, there have been tens of billions of views of these movies. They have made billions and billions of dollars. All right? And so the idea of ET UFO is out there worldwide, right?
Starting point is 00:16:25 There have been many, many documentaries, not particularly well-funded, not coming out of the Hollywood Matrix by and large, citizen journalist documentaries. And some are good, some are not so good, but they have been, you know, legitimate efforts to try to dock this issue. And in all of the docs that have taken place, not a single one was able to get theatrical distribution. Not a single one. And the idea that docs can't make money is ridiculous because they can make money. One doc, a political doc, is made $400 million.
Starting point is 00:17:03 Right. And it cost about $6 million to make. And so why haven't given the huge interest in this subject, which is reflected by the fact that people just can't get enough E.T. Sci-Fi. Okay. Why hasn't Hollywood made some docs that they could put out and promote and maybe that don't cost anything like it makes to make a sci-fi, you know, fiction movie and cash in? And the answer that I feel very confident is this. There are big shots in this town that know damn well there's an extraterrestrial presence. They know that there's a couple, truth embargo.
Starting point is 00:17:43 They know this situation. But they have the contacts. They have the inside action. They're wealthy. They're connected. And so they know, which is one of the reasons why they see that sci-fi movies about ETs is a winner. However, even though they know that, to fund a documentary, to put a studio behind a documentary and a decent amount of money on this issue, that in a high production way goes to the public and says, hey, look, look at this, look at this.
Starting point is 00:18:13 And then stick it up on those big screens, you know? Yeah. those theaters have now and put it in a thousand or two thousand theaters and give it that kind of gravitas, that kind of importance and huge numbers of people are going to this and watching this, that is going to poke the bear. That is going to bother the United States government because it's challenging the government's truth embargo and they have chosen not to do it. In other words, we don't need to do that.
Starting point is 00:18:40 We're going to make lots of money, but we're not going to bother the government on the fact that it's lying about those ETs that we put out in fiction, the ones that are here, the government's lying about. And so it's never happened until now. Van Farah, who has been involved in big productions. He's a really Hollywood guy. Yeah. It wasn't Spielberg. It's not J.J. Abrams.
Starting point is 00:19:03 It's not, oh, Lord. Like James Cameron or somebody like that. Cameron or Scorsese. That are wonderful. I love them all. I love these guys. No, they're fantastic. They're genius, but it wasn't them.
Starting point is 00:19:19 It was Dan Farrah. He did this film, and they took it to a, the South by Southwest film festival, which is what you do, try to sell it. And for quite a good number of months now, what was going on is what usually goes on behind the scenes, the producers of the film who want to get their money and make money, or trying to decide how to monetize. the film. Sell it. And you go to more film festivals, whatever, and try to find a market for the film. And we knew that was happening, but we didn't know what the outcome was. And what we
Starting point is 00:19:55 just learned is the film finally has found its, quote, monetization path. And that is, it is, in November, it is going to get a limited release in about three different cities. Okay. Not a couple of theaters rented by the UFO journalist documenterist, right, to have a little premiere. I'm talking a limited release. And you know what that means? And then it's going to be streamed. Right. So what that means is that that doc is that is about to be treated like a proper, in a, in a,
Starting point is 00:20:32 standard way. And it's going to get a big screen representation, which, which some things, which are high quality don't get because there are issues with big screen. and the streaming thing is dominating, but it's going to get both. And what happens with limited distribution is this. If a lot of people show up for that documentary, they can expand the distribution any time they want. But just a limited distribution in a number of theaters in multiple cities
Starting point is 00:21:03 means this documentary just is going to be getting that theatrical distribution, big screen, that no other dock on this issue has gotten in 80 years. And that is a marker that's being laid down. And of course, it's going to be seen by a lot of people. It's going to get a lot of press. And that is important. And then it's going to be streamed. And given the limited distribution,
Starting point is 00:21:28 and because Farah knows what the hell he's doing and he's got the connections, I think the streaming of this dock is going to get a huge number of views. And so what does that mean? It means millions of people are going to see this collective. testimony from a lot of very important people with substantial careers, some of which have said matter-of-factly, there's ETs here, okay? Right. They probably say it again in the dock.
Starting point is 00:21:56 And that is all happening, and it's going to be happening, in November, December, when the opportunity for the next hearings is clearly going to develop or going through a little weird situation right now, but there's no question that Burleson wants another dock. I think Luna wants another hearing, rather. And they're not going to back away from this issue. In spite of the tumult, one of the reasons they're not going to back away is that if all the things going on right now, this is the only truly nonpartisan thing happening in the planet, or at least the United States. And they know they can engage it without having to go jump through hoops or get a lot of crap.
Starting point is 00:22:32 It's being received well by the public. And so the timing of it is almost ideal. And so this movie is going to play a significant role in maybe a game. getting to the finish line where the UAP Disclosure Act gets passed and enough else happens that sets the president up to disclose. And so it's probably going to be historically viewed as the most important documentary on this field to date. That is what I believe as somebody that has been in the issue for 30 years dealing with
Starting point is 00:23:04 the politics of it. I'm not throwing any shade on the general public and other researchers and so forth that have been particularly the researchers and citizen journalists that have been put it been you know sweating blood and tears for years on this for for no money uh who who want to see this resolved and they want they want it and they're very very sensitive and critical about stuff that happens it's not enough it's inadequate here's my problem with this here's my problem with that i'm not throwing shade on them i'm simply saying that is someone that has viewed this strictly as an activist movement yeah leading to a political solution for 30 years, my assessment of the age of disclosure,
Starting point is 00:23:46 it's going to be a major milestone and may be a significant reason why we see disclosure sooner than later, such as before the year is out or early next year. And if it does well, there's a whole lot of other documentaries that could be streamed tomorrow. In other words, suddenly a bunch of docs that couldn't get on the streaming, and they're going out looking for them. So this is non-trivial, and my hat's off to Dan Farrar and every single person that was involved in the creation of that movie.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Yeah, listen, I think you put it really well. I think it's a great perspective on the entirety of this and everything in the background kind of surrounding it. I agree with you. I think this is, again, kind of speaking to the negativity, right? And that that's your opinion, by all means, right? You always say that here, if that's your point of view. but just kind of speaking to that negativity side of things
Starting point is 00:24:40 where it's well it's things we've heard before or this person's talking about it and I think they're a liar or whatever that might be just kind of speaking to your overall point there this is something that in as a whole has never happened before to have a documentary of this weight and of this backing
Starting point is 00:24:58 and of this type of production and like this this could I'm not saying it will be but because it's going to be have a theatrical release, it actually could get Academy Award nominations and consideration. That's why they're doing it, which can you imagine next year winning the Oscar for the best documentary at front of how many million people lost the Oscars?
Starting point is 00:25:22 This simply reflects something that I've said many times before. Disclosure is inevitable. The only question is when. And the assessment of when varies all the time. And as activists, I have to be optimistic, right? So I'm always leaning toward why it could happen in four months, six months, two years, three years, as opposed to never happening. There are people that say that. And this doc and what could happen with that, it's just a reflection of a whole list of things that's going on driving this forward.
Starting point is 00:25:56 because the lie is the emperor's naked, and there's hardly anybody now around that doesn't know that, right? The emperor doesn't have any new clothes on. The number of people that know that the government's lying about this is huge. It's probably in the billions worldwide. It's in the 90 percentile range in the United States when polled. Even if you don't know much about the subject, when asked about it, just generally what people kind of see here,
Starting point is 00:26:26 Yeah, the government stuff tell the truth about that. And so it says the ETs continue to do their thing, they haven't left, right? They haven't all gone home. They're still doing their thing. The thing just keeps getting pushed forward inexorably. And there's going to be new ways that it's going to manifest. God knows what's coming. But the fact is the tooth embargo is only lasting at this point because there is a hardcore group within the military intelligence
Starting point is 00:26:56 complex who who who who are determined we do not know the about the truth about this and they're prepared to hang on until the last dog dies or or until they're dead or retired so they don't have to deal with any blowback well listen and they just refuse to yield and but they will yield they cannot win this and always remember at least at least i always remember um what Eisenhower said on his way out of his presidency, which was beware of the military industrial complex. And I think he meant that in more than one way, because we know the stories about Eisenhower and what he may or may not have been involved with when it comes to the grays and alien treaties, so to speak.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Maybe. Maybe. Maybe a component of that, but it's not the only component. By the way, since that speech, a lot of books, a lot of books have been written, you know, nonfiction books. Quality books have been written about all the reasons why we need to beware the power of the military and industrial complex. So it's not like that hasn't been thoroughly discussed and vetted. And most people know, yeah, we had better damn well beware. And so now the question is we need to stop bewearing and start fixing, reforming, and get the damn thing under control before it blows us all to hell.
Starting point is 00:28:17 Yeah, I think that's fair enough. kind of a point, counterpoint here, Steve. There was something that was said pretty recently by, I think, someone that I think we both respect pretty well, which is Colonel Carl Nell. And I had the opportunity to meet him for the first time at the hearing back in mid-September. I know you were there, and he's, you know, seems like a really stand-up guy, nice guy, a little shy, which I was kind of a little taken back. He's a brilliant man with a substantial career, let's be clear. That's exactly right. very substantial.
Starting point is 00:28:49 And I was impressed by him when I got to meet him for the first time. And he said something that I'm sure you're aware of pretty recently where he said, I'm kind of paraphrasing. He said, disclosure is dead. And he was kind of talking about the current time frame. 2017, if you want to put like a gravestone marker on it, 2017 to 2025, I think is kind of what he was referring to in the age of or in the framing of government's movement disclosure.
Starting point is 00:29:15 And I want to get your take on. his take on that. Were you shocked to hear him say that? And what do you kind of think in the macro picture, what he meant by that? Are you referring to the basically a Zoom presentation? Correct. That was put on by the New Paradigm Institute just a few days ago, about four hours. Which, by the way, please support the New Paradigm Institute.
Starting point is 00:29:38 And we're doing a lot of important work on this, particularly grassroots. Actually, it was Richard Dolan that said disclosure is dead. But Colonel Nell discussed that the site, there is a cycle that's now come to an end, right? That's right. Thank you. Yes, thank you. Right. So with that in mind, I mean, so we add in both of those names, right?
Starting point is 00:29:59 So what was your reaction to all due respect to the brilliant Colonel Nell and my good friend and major researcher, not the most important researcher in the field, Richard Dolan? I could not disagree more. disclosure is not dead, not by a long shot. Hey guys, so before we get back into the conversation, I just want to talk about something that affects all of us, and it's scary, starting something new, right? It's hard, and it is kind of terrifying, because you think about all the work that goes into it,
Starting point is 00:30:33 are you going to be able to succeed, what new challenges am I going to face? It's that uncertainty. But I know how that is, because I can think back when I started UAP, I was just hoping for the best, and it's just like that when you're starting your own business. That's why Shopify is so great and why I'm so happy to be able to talk about them.
Starting point is 00:30:52 Because despite all the fears and hesitations when starting something new, it certainly helps to have a partner like Shopify on your side to help. Shopify is the commerce platform behind millions of businesses around the world and 10% of all e-commerce in the U.S. from household names like Death Wish Coffee, Brooke Linnon, and Kylie. Starting point is 00:32:38 This is an activist movement and the goal is the end that embargo. And this is not something that cycles. It is relentless. when you get into this, you do not take time off. You don't say, look, I think I'm going to leave it to the next generation. No, it is relentless. And the only thing that changes is that sometimes you're making more progress than others, right? And maybe you could say sometimes you get a setback.
Starting point is 00:33:02 Ultimately, you're never going backwards. You're never deciding, oh, let's just go back to the beginning and rethink the whole thing and decide, now we don't really want to do this. And so what's happened now is that we made extraordinary progress from 17 on. We made extraordinary progress in 2023. So much has happened. And all of that was while some of the most bizarre, unprecedented, disruptive political developments were taking place on a daily basis. We're going to a political period in this country. I'm like anything we've ever seen. And that's, that technique could consume the attention of everybody in the country as well as every journalist,
Starting point is 00:33:44 But in spite of that, the issue has continued to move forward. Okay. And so when the UAP Act did not make it through, that was a setback. So they resubmitted the whole damn thing the next year. And when it didn't get through, they resubmitted it again the next year. That's progress. That's relentless. It's making a clear statement.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Okay. So now things have simply slowed down. All right. However, there's still things going on, and the fact that the age of disclosure is going to get its day is just one of many things that are still happening. There are still hearings ahead. Disclosure is anything but dead, and we don't have to go back. We can continue to move forward. It may be a little more difficult, but I have a lot of reasons I think that we're anything but done here for a while.
Starting point is 00:34:42 I don't think I'd want to debate it with Richard because I love him too much. But, you know, we could dialogue on it. But why do that? He's analyzing it. I'm analyzing it. He's analyzing from this point of view of researcher. Colonel Nell is analyzing it from the point of view of somebody who's had a substantial queer inside government with clearances and what have you.
Starting point is 00:35:04 And I am analyzing that from the standpoint of someone who is a citizen and an activist who pretty much devotes all this time to monitoring the means. media on this issue, as well as the social media engagement of the issue. And so three different perspectives, somewhat different results. And I leave it up to the public to decide who is grabbing, you know, their attention. Yeah, exactly right. Yeah, it's a fascinating topic. And so it's, it's fascinating to me because we have, you know, these, these well-respected names in many regards in different, whether it's academics, whether it's military, whether it's government, and you kind of have this differing viewpoint on how things are going right now.
Starting point is 00:35:50 And even in Hollywood, right? And just to kind of touch on that again real quick, because I find something really interesting here that you said earlier about timing, just to bring it back around to the age of disclosure film, this documentary, the timing, I think, is really interesting. And I agree with you on that point, because not only are we in this, you know, kind of slow down period, if you will, a lull, which I think everybody kind of feels that, everybody kind of sees it. And so to have this come out in the next month as we stand here, as we sit here now to speak, is it's timing, great timing in that aspect, because it's kind of
Starting point is 00:36:24 going to be a shot of adrenaline, I think, to this discussion to really rise it back up. But also to look at where we will be next summer in a name that we mentioned from somewhere like Steven Spielberg. Now, Spielberg is a guy who has not. never shied away from doing films about E.T. He made E.T. So, and now he's going to come out with this new film next summer, slated for June 12th, as big names like Emily Blunt attached to it.
Starting point is 00:36:51 And some of the titles have been varying. It's supposedly going to be called disclosure or might be called the Dish. They're not sure what's going to be called yet, but just in the time of that aspect, too, Steve, do you think it's coordinated or is that too conspiratorial to say that This is going to come out. Age of Disclosure in November. Dan Farrin, Spielberg, have worked with each other before on Ready Player 1,
Starting point is 00:37:14 and Spielberg is going to come out with his thing in 2026. Is that kind of staggered release coincidental or what do you think? There's no way to know. There's no way to know. And I have no reason to think that is the case. However, Spielberg, Dan, others, everybody, you know, J.J. Abrams, these are very, very smart people. Highly, very wealthy, with very substantial contacts.
Starting point is 00:37:43 Right. In other words, these are people who can pick up the phone and call a lot of people that you and I cannot call and get and have a conversation with. Right. All right. And so, you know, Steven Spielberg, of course, I've seen everything he's done. And he has had a major impact on this issue, which he doesn't brag about. but one day I think he will and it'll be analyzed
Starting point is 00:38:08 but he's been a player in various ways and yes he has this this film scheduled for 2026 and so my message to Mr. Spielberg is this if we can get disclosure done before that film hits the screens take whatever
Starting point is 00:38:23 gross you hope the film would make and multiply it by four right just I'll pick that four just multiplied by four So that's not even a difficult calculation. In other words, if disclosure takes place, and about two months or three months after that,
Starting point is 00:38:43 outcomes of this movie, right? You think people are going to go see it? I think so. And so I'm just saying, you know, so Mr. Spielberg, if you'd like to help the activist movement, we are always welcoming. Danny Sheen is welcoming.
Starting point is 00:38:55 The Soul Foundation would love to have some nice contributions so that we can keep that activist at a high level and vigorous. But if not, we'll just do it out of our back pocket as best we can. But that is the case. The timing of this is good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:11 In other words, what, you know, what happened? For instance, the push back from the DOD, they got the, they got the, and from what we'll call the pro disclosure people, was one, they got a bunch of people to go, lobbyists to go up and cut the, the UAP Disclosure Act. half in 2020. Okay. And and then I believe witnesses have been contacted by individuals connected to
Starting point is 00:39:44 whatever about they prefer you didn't testify kind of thing. That's not necessarily a threat. It's just like we would rather you didn't do it. But whatever, I'd have a feeling some of that this happened. They've kind of shut down the witnesses willing to go forward. I get it. A simple ploy. They put out a grotesque article in the Wall Street Journal to try to completely undermine the nuclear witness deal, which has been in the work for a while. I've helped to make sure that every single member of the Oversight Subcommittee knows about these new witnesses. We were able to get a meeting between Bob Salas, who leads the witnesses that are prepared to testify to the shutting down of nukes in the 60s. He's met with Nancy Mays. He's met with Eric Berluson, who I feel is leading
Starting point is 00:40:26 this issue in a house now. Not to say the others are involved, but he's kind of stepped into that and doing a wonderful, wonderful job, great guy, and I think he's a positive force. And so they've done some things, you know, to kind of, okay, I get it. And that's one of the reasons it's kind of slowed down. And then this movie comes out, okay? When this movie comes out at the time that this is going to help bring things back to life, I think, quickly. All right, this movie is going to give cover for a lot more people in Congress to step into this. whether it's luna whether it's uh you know some of the some people on the uh the real important
Starting point is 00:41:07 the committees that really are the ones out front should be out front which is armed services and um arm services and intelligence right uh some of them may get more involved it's going to help give cover to the uap disclosure act all right and so forth in there was this in other words it's they're going to take 30 some people who have spoken here or spoken there, have been seen here or seen there, and I've turned up here on this or that or podcast or something, and they're taking them all,
Starting point is 00:41:41 they're bringing them together in a high production value setting and piling their statements on top of the other. Now, for some people, that's a little boring. I get that, particularly if you're very knowledgeable about the issue, you know a lot. It seems a little boring. But for every person in this country that is knowledgeable about this subject to the degree that they want more than that, there's 5,000 people that are not. And we have to understand that this disclosure movement is about getting disclosure for everybody, not just the UAP people or the activists or anything, it's for the entire public.
Starting point is 00:42:22 because disclosure and this presence has already and will going forward affect the lives of every single person on this planet. And so all 340 million people, the Americans, need to know about this. And so their reaction to all of this stuff being piled up is another matter, right? And so I understand those that want more. But remember, this is all about getting this issue resolved in the favor of everyone. And the more Americans that can see this testimony, the more Americans, to become aware of this, the more pressure on the Congress to do its job and for the president to do his job and get us the truth. And so that is why I feel so good about the timing of this,
Starting point is 00:43:06 because it's going to come out at just the time when I think we can get things going again because we're going through this lull. I like how things are setting up. Yeah. But then I'm always optimistic about how things are setting up. So take that in a consideration. Sorry, we could use some optimism these days in this discussion. So that's totally fine. And that's where we'll end it for today. And then a couple of days on Friday, as we stand here today on this release date of Wednesday, I'll have part two out there for you as well to finish off this conversation.
Starting point is 00:43:39 Because we come back and actually something that I really, really wanted to ask him about was his take specifically on George Knapp's testimony at the recent UIP hearing back in the beginning of September. and I actually make this point with Steve, but I'll say it now as well, is that it kind of felt like George Knapp, his testimony kind of got overshadowed. And I know that's hard to believe, but there was so much that came from that, whether it was the Eric Burleson video
Starting point is 00:44:07 with the Hellfire Missile, whether it was Dylan Borland's revelations or anything else that, you know, Chief Wiggins or Jeff Nusatelli had to say, it's not, I hate to say the term overshadowed. It just felt like there was so much that came out of it that we kind of overlooked maybe some of the things that George Knapp said that I thought were really, really important.
Starting point is 00:44:29 So I was really looking forward to asking Steve Bassett his take on those things that George Knapp specifically had to say. And of course, we didn't disappoint there at all because of where Steve was able to take that part of the conversation. And that led to a whole discussion about UFOs and nukes and how it was kind of unprecedented what we heard again, maybe overshadowed what we heard there during that testimony. So we're going to rehash that a little bit and also kind of look into the future as well. Like where could that lead us now? Who's paying attention to it? Who's trying to bury it?
Starting point is 00:45:02 And I also ask Steve a question that's, I'm not sure how really comes up a lot with him, which is what has intrigued him over the years as far as different stories that he sees as irrefutable. So we get into some of that as well. and I think you'll recognize some of the things that are brought up there and so much more. So definitely come back for Part 2 coming out here in just a couple of days on Friday. Again, as we stand here, that'll be Friday the 24th when Part 2 will come out. So look forward to that. But until then, continue to download and subscribe to the show wherever you get your podcasts.
