I am unashamed. What about you? I said y'all go ahead and start while I get some coffee. You belayed that order? Oh, gee. Belayed or delayed? Ballade. That's a naval term. And you act like I use big words.

That's right. That's a naval term. Just because you've got big words doesn't mean you can beat me in Scrabble because you would lose. You don't want to take us on his scrabble. We don't. I heard a story about it. That's why I don't use words that are bigger than seven letters. I'm going to go ahead and make a prediction right now.

You boys will not beat me in Scrabble. I can promise you that. I would actually love to watch that. Oh, well. I think the gauntlet's been laid down. Should we include Willie as well? I want to include $20 out of his wallet. You bring whoever.

You want to bring where your mouth is. Have you ever played Scramble for money? I will. And I will not get beat by Robertson. Oh, that's right. is a challenge. That might have to happen. We need to do one of these, you know, the events.

What was that, you know, a tournament? Trump just had the fighters in the water. We need to do a Scrabble steel cage match. Me, Willie, and Zach, do you want to get out? I'll get that on. Oh, Alan. I'll put my vocabulary up against anybody, including Zach. You think you would win?

I know I would win. Are you asking a Robertson if they, think they will win. Really? Who do you think would win? That's probably the most supportive way. I don't really care because I don't have any kind. If you had to choose, who would you think?

I can't say. I just can't say. I have to say Willie is probably one more in the back of the day because he studied the dictionary, learned all the two-letter words with X and Z. I mean, he went to that level to beat us. I think Jace will let you think that you're winning and he'll come in and just like whom. There you go. Finish it off.

This is a woman that's been with me for 40 years. That's a woman who's proud of her man. Wow. Look at the smile on the face. I love it, bag. You frame that that I'm going to give them the illusion that victory is right there. And then all their hopes and dreams. Well, the funny thing about it would be that Zach would probably come in dead last.

And he would think he was like he does now that he would win, but he has no idea what he's getting into. That's what would be funny. I've studied the dictionary, too. I've got all the two-letter words down. I've got all of it. Yeah, I've got the strategy. We're right, Zach, because we used to do it on vacation every year. Before, we call it BP, before poker, we used to play Scrabble was our big game.

And so we all got pretty good at it. But Willie took it to the next level with the studying of the words and all that. So welcome to Unashamed, by the way. You came at mid-discussion. Welcome, Missy. It's always good to have you all. Thank you. So we had, Zach was telling us about, Zach, you're heading to D.C. for the 250.

You got a big, you're part of the big celebration? I'll be there. Yeah. That's awesome. Tell us what you're doing. I don't really know yet. Max is going to be doing some stuff up there, some leading worship. Honestly, I got invited because I attached myself to my son.

Kind of what I've done with y'all for the last, you know, seven years or eight years, I just attached myself to whoever the talent. is. You're like lint, Zay. You attach yourself to whatever suit comes by. That's it. I'm actually confessing it. I thought you were just playing the game. Well, look, there's no shame. I mean, my mom would, you know, she would, she would take hand-me-downs from Aunt Judy, and we never felt bad about it. Just, no, if you go give us a hammie-dows, we'll take them. So I wore all of John Gimber's clothes. We're still, hey, we're like lent.

Judy was the only one with any money out of our little crew because she was a nurse. Oh, yeah. Mom made sure she got to those hammy downs quick. There were no hammy downs from us, Zach, because... No, y'all didn't have good stuff. It was terrible. It was already hammydown before we got it. Y'all didn't have anything good worth taking home.

There was a value of being the oldest son because if there ever was anything new bald, it would go to me and before it worked its way down through the rest of them. So that was the one value I have. They were hamming down the bathroom. water back in fact. Yeah, I mean, mom and dad was the bath water, you know. It's so funny because the way we were right, I was telling, so I've already had minor surgery this morning until I'm sitting there.

I had two cysts cut out of my back and I was coming in and I told Maddie that and she said, well, I hope you're okay. And I was like, yeah, well, wouldn't I be? I mean, but I was like, and I was telling my nurse practitioner he was doing this only this morning. I was telling her about my knee, you know, I tore my ACL when I was 15 years old. And dad, I come in, I'm limping. And I said, I said, I really hurt my knee playing basketball last night.

He said, let me see here. And he kind of twist around. I said, oh, is that hurt? Yeah, yeah, that hurt. And he said, yeah, I put an ace band joint. You'll be good to go. That's what I did with the torn ACL. So, you know, that's gone.

So I was telling her about it. It's like the generation, because I've just spent a bunch of time my grandkids and they're so soft. You know, they're just like, I'm hot. I can't. I want to stay inside. I don't want to. And, you know, I'm just looking around at Lisa. I was like, we have just spoiled these children to, I mean, we were.

We were ace bandaged on a torn ACL. I went from that to my, I'm too hot. I can't go to the beach. Hey, man, though. We didn't have air conditioning. No air conditioning. You just. Everybody was saying, oh, it's like stick your head out the window, you know.

So you're going to the Bible Museum, Zach? I'm sorry, I had, Jack. Yeah, we'll be at the Bible Museum. And then we're going to do the, I think we're going to go down to the mall or whatever the, wherever the big show is at. Well, I just, Maddie informed me this morning that they are doing a, I guess a trumped-up version of the fireworks show is going to be 45 minutes long. It starts to go louder. And bigger than it's ever been.

Wasn't that bad? It was like just huge. I mean, it's already big anyway. It's the national one, but they've now trumpified it. Of course he did. Absolutely. Last night. Well, the first year, so we had Faith Family Freedom yesterday, which I would love to talk about.

But this is the fourth year. The first year we had it, the guy was, the professional fireworks guy was. amazing and he was just like brought them all in we set them out not too far from the people which was not a really good spot and then it went for 26 minutes and by about minute 18 19 jace is just breaking out into a sweat and he's just like we're watching the guy run and light them you know and we're just like oh oh oh oh oh oh oh i can't watch you more i can't watch anymore i can't watch any more those fireworks were going off among us I mean it was It was just like,

it was a bad spot. It was a bad spot. It was a bad spot. It was a bad spot. It was a bad spot. I mean, people are going to, you're going to add up being on a YouTube,

one of these viral videos of when fireworks go bad. We made an adjustment in the next year. And I said, okay, we moved them to the back of the house, like by the cornfield so then we can watch them with safety in between. And we said, let's cut it to 12 minutes,

12 minutes. And they, it was fantastic, great. I started sweating again. I was like, okay, just wrap this up, guy. Just wrap this up. It's really great.

But it's one guy. It's amazing. I mean, look, this is the, I know I say this a lot, Larry the cable guy, but this guy is the definition of get her done. He does this by himself. You say he's a professional firefighter or he's a professional fireworks guy. He is a professional fireworks guy because you couldn't do this. And if that's your profession, then that tells you,

You know, you need to know. But he looks like where we were raised. Oh, yeah. Oh, he, I mean, yeah. You know, when you said that, I was thinking, I was thinking of the old, what was the guy's name, Jeff Foxworthy, you know, the old, you might be a redneck. Oh, yeah. If you're a professional fireworks guy, here's your sign.

You might be a redneck. Yeah. Yeah. It's totally a redneck, 100%. No, he is. But he's our redneck. And if it hadn't meant for other redneck. next last night. It would have. We had, this was the year that we had a lot of obstacles.

I'm still a little stressed right now. So if you see my heart beating through my top, I mean, I'm just, I'm still coming down off being stressed. So we had a lot of things not go correctly and a lot of things really, I mean, when the electricity shuts off two hours into your event and never comes back on. That can be a little stressful. Especially when you're having work. I mean, there's thousands and thousands of people there. No air conditioning. No fans will work anymore.

You know, no sound system is coming on. No microphones. I mean, I said, you know, the message doesn't do its job if it's not heard. Yeah. You have to hear the message. It's what I tell you guys all around the country. I was like, you know, I can't do this unless you're doing what you're doing because nobody's going to hear. But you know what?

People, which Jace can attest to all. of this way better than me because again I was pretty stressed even though I have someone that has supposed to be handling all of this I'm the host it's my house and it ultimately falls on me to fix all of the problems right you know and I'm just that's the way you feel it's not supposed to be my lane but it is when things go wrong like this no it's my house and so everybody's coming to me and I'm just like I don't I don't know I don't know I called my, my electrician, Scotty, who was amazing. And he answered, I said, on a Sunday afternoon, I'm like, Scotty, if I'm calling you right now, he said, something's wrong. I said, I have thousands

of people here at Logtown and our electricity just went out. He said, I'll send my son, who's amazing. And then he said, but it sounds like an intergy problem when I explained it. So then we called intergy, we'll have somebody out there as soon as we can, ma'am, never showed up. Oh, yeah, it's been a say, Sunday. Yeah, and when the electrician son Heath got there, he's just, he's so kind, he's so awesome, and he just kind of looked at me, he said, Miss Missy, there's absolutely nothing I can do for you. And I said, I know, I'm sorry, I kind of panicked and called you, but you're my guys, you know, and I know I can count on you, but he said, this is definitely an intergy problem, and I can help you

once it gets back on, but there's nothing I can do until then. And so we just kind of went into, you know, like ambulatory surgery mode of, you know, trying to figure out all the plan Bs. Well, I didn't even know because it's funny because I never saw you guys. You was there and you didn't realize. I was there for two hours. Well, that two hour mark is when it went off. I know. Well, and I found that out later because I was, so I kind of came in the outer part of it and I stopped in one tent to say hello to Lulu, her cousin, and Phyllis, because they were under the same tent. And once I started talking to people and taking pictures and meeting people, I never got past that.

But I could hear sigh, and occasionally every once in a while I would hear mom, but it was mostly sigh yelling. On a microphone, because you could hear them all over the whole estate. And it was really funny because so I knew it was working. But then, so I didn't notice that it stopped. But when mom, they finally said, okay, they got your mom in the car, because I I brought mom, which, by the way, I hadn't told you all this because I hadn't seen you. Please, because I wasn't able to see her because I was dealing with so much.

She had so much fun. She said, I didn't even sweat. Of course, you know, our house is like 84 degrees. So I was like, if anybody is built for the high weather, it's mom. It's the first time I've seen her without a park on. Yeah, exactly. And so she was like, I was perfect. And all the rest, I just literally, I have sweated completely through my clothes.

And I was like, Mom, you didn't even sweat. And she said, no, it was so nice. Oh, I know. So she's built for a bit. She had the best time. She said, it was so fun to see all my fans again. And so for those of you who were there and listening, you made her day. And she loved it.

But then A.N. said, A.N. said, well, I couldn't even hear Jace because the microphones went out. Well, I didn't even know the power went out because I was out there under that tent. So I had no idea all this was going on. Well, I, Ms. Miss Missy's idea. Because John, Godwin, was speaking before me. And I couldn't hear him, and I was 10 feet away from him. Somebody said, all they could hear was, well, look, when I got up, I said, let me translate that for you.

But I thought, what am I going to do? The crowd was pretty big, and Missy had an idea, which was good. She thought, why don't you just get up here on the porch? And I thought, I'm fixing, because I'm a mumbler by nature. Yeah. And then it just, I was a little stressed out in the first moment because I was like, I don't have anywhere to put anything. I'm standing up.

I got a holler. But then I thought, well, this is what he did in Jesus' day. That's right. Jesus didn't have a microphone. But I was more like, Jesus didn't have a microphone. The people are here. And I yelled for 30 minutes. That's why I'm surprised.

A.N. said that but she can't hear anyway no so that was neither can mom yeah she couldn't hear a dump truck and a nitric glycer in a yeah she's because i feel like people could hear me because the people inside i was outside yeah they were like good speech i was like were you in here they're like oh i can hear you clear wow you were yelling i was like oh i was yelling the top of my lungs i'm so surprised you have a voice today though that's my problem when i do that it's like stresses out my voice i had to do it in africa well it did the earlier This morning, I was thinking, kind of food you have there?

What was the food situation? Oh, we had all kinds. Well, Gimber did his jumbalaya wraps. So he had that. Look, I'm going to tell you something. Gimber came through because he brought, Judy's son, who we were talking about earlier, he brought a generator. He said he just brings one when he takes his cooking stuff.

protect your retirement savings. We just were interrupted. The podcast was interrupted because the police were here to see Missy. And she was like, I don't know. about it. I don't know anybody about it. We're supposed to meet Missy here at 10 o'clock if she's coming for a podcast

and Mrs's like, I don't know anything about us. Yeah, but they're police. I mean, we have to deal with it. That was 20 minutes ago.

It was 1020. So Bella's telling us they're in the store. And finally, Jay said, did you pay the police from yesterday? Because they worked your event.

If I could recreate that moment because it was, look, let me try it. It was a, oh, did you get that look, Badi? Okay, good.

You got to show that. You got a slow- of the, oh, with the sound, Maddie. Did you pay them from last night? That's what it is. It's when the reality hits that you forgot something that you said you were going to do. So do you understand my point of all of these problems somehow came my way, and this is not my lane? Literally at 10 a.m. the next day is still happening.

Here's the deal. I'm not supposed to be in charge of anything else on these events. And yet, here I am still mopping up the next morning. I just think that was a courageous move to stiff the police. Babe, come on. 30 minutes, they were not fighting crime because they were here. Your job is to protect me, not throw me under the box. I know, but, babe, I'm saying if I would pay it everybody who were participants of our event.

It's a little bit more complicated than that. I paid them last night, but the person in charge of telling me how much to pay them miscalculated. And I had to add more money. And I said, oh, I'll write those checks when I get home tonight last night. And I'll have them at the podcast. But then Mia came in our room at like 1045 last night and wanted to talk for 45 minutes. Well, I'm not turning that down because she had an amazing time, given all that she's gone through lately. And she had her own personal security guard.

And she was just able to be herself last night. and she was loving it and telling me stories, and I just couldn't stop and write four checks last night and interrupt my daughter. And so when she finished, so we just did it here on the podcast. So sorry. Sorry.

You're forgiven. It was such a strange time because you had to adapt. And the whole week was we had a couple that moved in with us. And I didn't know where they came from or who they were. But I assume, well, I couldn't remember. Just like you forgot about writing the kids. Don't say you don't know.

Just say you didn't remember. I didn't remember who they were. They looked familiar. And I thought, I know these people, but it just had been a while. And I'm like, it happens to me a lot,

but not usually at my house. I mean, like I'll see somebody and I recognize. I kind of know them from somewhere. I hate to ask somebody who's at my house who looks comfortable. I hate to ask,

why are you here? So I didn't. So I just assume, because they sat down, you know, my couch is. big. This actually happens more than we talk about.

But I love that because Mia just invites people to come and stay. And that's great. We just don't know who they are. So like day two or whatever, I'm just giving them, well, it's one Bible study after another. So you go to the PR, the Phil, right? I was. Because I was just. You figure somebody shows up at your house, there's a reason.

This must be why they're here. And so on day two, they were like, you want to go fishing? I was like, sure. Where are we going? And they're like, no, I mean, do you have anywhere? There's a leg behind your house, but there's probably no fishing. So I took them over there and we caught some fish. I went through the whole process.

And y'all found out they're fixed to get married. So I thought, oh, that's why they're here. They won't premarital counsel. So we did that. And about day or two or three, I finally just said, who are y'all? When you kind of ran out of stuff to preach about it. I said, I'm so sorry. I know I know you, but I was like, I forgot who y'all were.

And he was like, I work at Chick-fil-A. And then I remembered that part. And me and his friend, she went to Lipscomb, and they became friends at Lipscomb. I went to school. You're family. I was like, oh, okay. Of course you are. I said, I knew y'all were believers because they were too intelligent in the Bible.

So I thought, well, then I thought I thought you needed some premarital counseling. It was like, no, we appreciate it. we're already getting that. Thanks for the bonus material. So I'm just saying that. Then it kind of moved toward the event. The same thing happened. But Mia and this young man,

when they did the worship, because we had no sound. Not a different young man, not the one who saved this. Yeah, another. Not the Chick-fil-A. I don't know they got either. Yeah, not Chick-fil-A.

I called him Chick-fil-A for another day. And then I started. Another film move, I might say, that you become nicknamed by your. job. But, yeah. And so they just got out there, because you're like, we don't have a sound system. We don't. And we love these sound guys that we had hired. And we have the system. We just don't have the electricity. Yeah. Then Al, we had an a, we said all this to talk about, you never know, the Lord works in mysterious ways. And I said the need for rednecks. And, you know,

we're the only people left. I've said this before, and it kind of went viral. The redneck world. We're the only unoffendable people left in the U.S. of A. We don't care. You can talk about us, make fun of us. It's just not going to bother. But when things like this happen, what you need is somebody to rise up. And so, now, he should have done a little quicker. Are you kidding me right now?

I was kidding. He said, you know, he looked around and he assessed the situation. And he's from Pennsylvania, him and his wife. Got a beard. He looks like, kind of had a burly look. I met that guy. Yeah. Yeah.

Drove down in their camper. Yep, yep, yeah, I made him. He came up with the, this was the voice in the wilderness. He said, well, I got a generator. Just bought one. Now, this old boy was headed to the beach. I think him and his wife were just like taking a vacation. But they, from Pennsylvania.

But he stopped in at the old faith family freedom. and bought a generator for his beach activities, I guess. And so he wheeled that thing out. So we got that set up for what the last 30 minutes and we had a microphone and all that. So before that, Mia and this young man with the guitar, they were just leading worship. Just standing up among the people. Just acoustically. You just kind of got as close to the people as possible and just started singing.

Which I kind of like that, kind of a campfire. It was just something kind of raw and real. Kind of like when I said, I felt like this is the way Jesus preached. You know, sermon on the mountain didn't have my – because I was thinking, how did he holler for 5,000, which he might have got a little help from the supernatural, you know, a little magnifying, but I thought this is – it's hard to speak at that level. Well, certainly we talked about this in Luke 5. It's certainly why he got in the boat.

and got out on water, which is a natural carrier of voice. So, you know, he knew all the tricks. Well, even before that, well, before that, I was like, we were, you know, trying to figure out, how are we going to do this? A thousand or two thousand people are going to end up in the front yard. Well, well, they're not able to hear anything that we're going to say or saying or do. And so I went to one of the security guards and I said, can we get, is there a cop car that has like a, what do you call it with the little might?

They said, a PA system? I said, yes, I said, he said, absolutely, we can roll that thing up in the front. So let's do that. So at least we can talk on that, you know, we can't play music on it or anything. So pulled up there and I kind of just made the announcement, you know, that we're about to start and hang in there, you know, and we're going to just support, support these young kids and let's worship the Lord the best we can. I was like, maybe the Holy Spirit will just carry it out there to you. and they decided to go straight up to the fence closer to the people and people were singing, standing up, and worshiping.

Oh, it was. And then the generator guy came and was like, I got a generator. We can hook it up. So the sound guys did that. And it was just like, we have power. It was just amazing. And I was going to say that about Gimber earlier. When the power went out, his generator, he said, he just hooked it up and handed it to his Aunt Kay.

Like, here you go. Use the mic. I got it fixed. So it was like, people just started working. together to make it happen, and then something else would happen. You know, it was like, I know. So you're saying the one that comes to steal, kill, and destroy was trying to. He was trying.

And you know what was crazy is that I wasn't able to do some of the things that I had planned, obviously. And I was having to handle situations instead of be among the people, which was disappointing, you know. But it just had to be done. But all of the volunteers who were there had amazing attitudes. And they all set. the same thing. The even one's working right now. We just got to overcome it. We got to overcome it.

It's like, thank you so much for having this attitude and just serving in their sweat. Nobody's getting paid. This is just a complete day of service, and they were loving it. Yeah. And we had, by the way, can I, can I give a little report? We had. After action report. We had 34 baptisms from what I can, from what we can gather. But we had people from Pennsylvania, Indiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, Tennessee, Wisconsin, California, Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, Kansas, Wyoming, Washington, New Mexico, West Virginia. I met people from New Jersey and Arkansas and Sweden and Canada. Oh, I was going to say, I was going to sing, oh, Canada.

Yes. Sweden and Canada. That's so funny. Was Michigan on the list? Because I met three people from Michigan. I don't know if you said that. I might have. It's a lot of people.

I mean, what an honor for them to come down here. And Mia and I were talking about this last night. She was like, Mom, they're coming and they really admire us. And I said, do you think they admire us for our fashion sense? And she looked at me and she was like, no, they admire us for our love for the Lord.

And I said, absolutely. Because she's been battling, you know, she put it out. It's public. she put it out that, you know, she's had a stalker for the past year. It's really, really affected her. And last night, she just came alive. He's in jail, you know, right now, and so has been arrested. And then she had her own personal security guard walking with her the entire time.

And she just said, I could just feel like I was myself again. And like I could put it out there for like my purpose here is to glorify God and not be in fear. Yeah. And that's why she was just kind of soaking in the day and wanting to process it with me last night. And it was just like the old Mia was back. Yeah. And it was really, really wonderful. That's good.

So, yeah. Made me think about freedom and, you know, we're not a slave to fear. Yeah. All the freedom verses, which is what we talked about. And the upside to, because a lot of people have asked us that through the years, you know, the upside of being known. and we don't really like the term celebrity because we don't see ourselves that way. But, I mean, the idea about being known by a lot of people. But part of that downside is it is a draw for people who have issues.

And, you know, the evil one works in his ways. And I think the greatest fear we all had when we kind of entered into the world of television at a large level was about our kids and about protection. And, you know, what would happen to them? Because Mia and Willie's kid, they were all, you know, teenagers and younger. So, you know, that's- But they were under our watch then. And so we were protecting them, we were aware. Now that they're adults, they're on their own.

Exactly. And they're in a different state and off of college. You worry about that anyways. It's even a bigger fear. Yeah, that is scary. And Sadie had some of these same things, you know, as part of her journey, too. And it's just really, yeah, it's tough. And so I'm glad to hear that because we shouldn't have to live in fear like that.

But yeah, but the even one, but what I noticed, Missy, that's the, I hadn't had a chance to tell you. because I never really got into the inner sanctum of what you guys were dealing with. But on the periphery of it, you know, the volunteers are what impressed me right off the back. Because everybody was completely soaked through. Yes. They were all wearing red shirts, so it was obvious. Like there would be three dry places on their shirt. But they were smiling and laughing and, you know, just talking to people,

meeting them, welcoming them. Yeah, driving them in and out. And people were enjoying themselves. And I can't tell you how many people in both at our church yesterday. that came because a bunch of those folks came to WFR first and then went out there. But I mean in tears. And it was mostly men. There were a couple of ladies.

It was mostly men in tears telling me how much the podcast had changed their lives, had disciples them, had changed them. They just wanted one of us to know that, they had an opportunity to tell us. And so, and I told every one of them I was like, thank you so much. Because, you know, look, we look into a camera. we study the Bible. It's a bit of a grind because we're doing this so much, you know, every week we're just grinding through. And it's so great to hear those stories because it's inspiring for us to know that what we're doing is it makes a difference.

It matters. Yeah. And it's kind of coming from a non-baggage, non-denominational. I mean, we're studying trying to, let's get this right. Yeah. What were they talking about? Right. So I thought when your sermon yesterday, so this is.

this was crazy. When you preach, I literally was going to give a five-minute version of your speech. The wrap-up after worship. I mean, down to the Declaration of Independence. I thought, is I been snooping around? We're on the same page or what? In my thoughts?

Are we brokering that? But it's so crazy how you kind of think alike. But one thing you did that I thought was incredible that I guess nobody would really appreciate unless you were doing a podcast is you took a month of podcasts and put it into 25 minutes and the James one. And I thought that was done really well because it is interesting when we talked about that freedom, the law that gives freedom and the royal law. Those are difficult things for us to wrap our head around.

I had never really pursued that from a biblical. standpoint. What does that mean? It made me think, so yesterday I kind of, since you had done that, I thought, well, Al, stole my thunder even though most of the people that were out there. No, that's right. By far, we only had three or four hundred of them at the building.

But in my speech, we had the gospel on the back porch, which missed the idea, which was so awesome. Because you're interrupted occasionally by someone being baptized. They literally just like, don't wait till the end. No. And when I said, does anybody get any questions?

the first question was, it was more of a statement. He said, I think I need to be baptized. But he said, I was a little kid. He said all that in front of the hundreds of people that were just gathered right there. He did. He said, I was a little kid. And he said, you know, somebody told me they baptized me. But he said, now since then, I have learned about the Lord and I love the Lord.

He's like, I'm just sitting here thinking, I might need to do that for. my own personal conviction. And I kind of told a version of your story that we've shared publicly. And I said, if I don't know, there's some water right there. You know what I mean? But he was kind of like, well, scripturally, and I thought, I'm already having to holler. It's going to be hard to get into theological, I guess, rabbit hole about this. But I did mention in Acts 19 and Acts 20 where just think about that.

scenario, they ran upon some people who had been baptized by John, who was preparing the way for Jesus. And it was a baptism for mission of sins. You know, saying to believe in the one. I said, but then they were like, well, did you receive the spirit? They're like, we hadn't even heard of the spirit. What do you mean? And they eventually taught him about Jesus that he has come. He died. And they baptized them again. I said, I know that's different from this, but just the fact that they didn't say, you're good, you know, I mean, that they kind of, because to his viewpoint, this was almost like another baptism. It's like, well, I've already done this and I'll believe in the one. They're like, well, now he's here and they're like, well, do I need to be

baptized again? They actually had a discussion about that. So I used that as kind of the precedent. Maybe I shouldn't have, but it just popped into my head and I did it. But I noticed, I heard being baptized later. Yeah. So I thought that was awesome. And what I thought was the power idea. I mean, we have more power in us than these lines, even though that if you get in between the two lines,

it'll kill you. But since we have the spirit, I'm actually going to be resurrected. Yeah. Unless God just deems that stupid for me what I just did. But that was a joke. The people of God is what I thought last night. They come together and help you. A lot of that is rednecks.

They just want to help. They've got a situation. Use my stuff. You know, a lot of people are like, no, no, no, I don't want it to get. That's a brand new generator. I'm fixing to go to the beach. I'm going to hook it up on the campground. No.

And he's just like, I'll go get it. It's 75 pounds and I can't get my truck through, but I'm going to carry it myself. Oh, he did. And I carried it back. That night, he said, brother, I'm just not sure I can make that journey. I said, let me have it. And I what did it mean? The servanthood.

I told Missy, I said it might have ended my golf career, but I got it. And I gave him, which is dark. We can't see anything. So I gave him, I knew it was a $100 bill. Because I was like, we used a whole tank of gas and just the fact of him letting us use it, you know. I mean, he's on his trip. I was just so impressed with him. But when he got in the light and looked at it and saw that it was a Honda,

He came and found me and said, I ain't taking $100. No. I hope you said, yes, you are. Oh, I said, no, brother, you can put that in the collection plate if you won't, but I will not be able to sleep tonight because I know Jesus says, but for this night, you're right there under Jesus because we needed that generator. And even the people getting all their stuff packed up, which is why I was extremely late, You just think about it.

All these sound people, all this stuff. We don't have any lights. They got stuff scattered all over everywhere. And we sat out there and used his generator so that everybody get all the stuff packed up. That pitching an idea, pitching in idea you were talking about. There was a young man that came up to me, had a kid with him, looked like he was seven or eight years old. And he said, do you know if they're going, is there any like transport that's going out to the place? And I was like, transport.

Oh, from church building. Yeah, or a town. And I said, because he was like, where? And I said, well, it's a pretty good ways out. And I said, you know, and of course, I'm meeting people. And I said, I really don't. I don't think there's anything like that. Because his car, he was having car trouble.

So, and I thought, just, I said, I don't really know what to tell. I said, may he just ask around? All these people are going there standing around here. I said, maybe somebody can give you a route. Well, either he and his son. So I look up and I look in the line at the, when I'm there, and there he is. I said, you made it. He said, yeah, this family gave us a right.

But look, now he's. his wife and five kids are with it. So this was a big, they're crammed in. They had a whole family. But someone just said, come on with us. You know, and I just thought, man, that's the attitude you want. There's so many stories that happened. So there was a guy.

I could see it in his eyes. I knew who he was, but I couldn't recognize him. But I knew I knew who he was. Oh, no. Well, and he came to him. Was he living with you, too? No, no. He just came up to him.

He had a big grin on his face. And he said, I'm back. I was like. I know I know you, but you look so different. And he said, you know what I look like? And I was looking at him and I thought, I don't know what to say here without, you know. He looked a little rough. But he had lost, I could tell, he had lost a lot of weight.

He looked like fit. But he said, this is what a man looks like after two years of being sober and having the spirit of God. I was like, I knew I remembered. He's like, yeah, you saw the old, old me. So I just thought, wow, it was an incredible moment. I was like, well, somebody's been busy. And he said, oh, yeah, I have for the Lord. So he rescued me.

There is, I have a story, too. I haven't even told you about. But when I got there a little early, I had a bunch of food in my car. I picked up for the volunteers to put in the house and get everything ready. And I got there like three. 30, 3.40, and, you know, when you first pull down the first road to get to the levy road, it's a ways still to get to the house. And there's just a commotion of people that this shouldn't, to me, this shouldn't be happening. Like, like, what is, what's happening? And the people in charge

of that part decided to park people from the farthest point out and go in instead of in and go out. So I said, again, not my lane, but people were walking on the levee road with their lawn chairs and their ice chest, and I'm starting to panic. It's 94, it's 94 degrees already, and they're having to walk. And I said, why, why are these people walking? Why are they not, what is happening right now, you know, and so they, look, we're just told, we were told us what we're going to do, and we told them we would take them in our ATVs, but they'll have to wait, and it's a shuttle service, and they said they wanted to walk. It's 100 people before 4 o'clock walking down the levee road.

So I'm just like waving, like, oh my goodness, please don't pass out, you know. Please don't die. Thank you so much for coming. I'm just like panicking. I get to the front of this long line of people, and there's a couple about our age. And they have lawn chairs and they have their ice chest. And I said it's two people. My car is slam full of stuff, and I have a baby seat behind me.

but I have two empty seats. So I just rolled down my window, I said, would y'all like to get in? I have two open seats. And their jaws dropped, you know, but I'm like, I'm feeling so guilty that this is happening. And I said, make it quick. Decide quickly because we got 100 people behind us

that will probably take my offer. And so they, yeah, yeah. And they're trying to. They kind of had the deer in the headlights at first, yeah. So they opened the back of my trunk and they see it slam full. And I was like, it'll fit. Throw those chairs over the baby seat. and y'all hop in, you know, I haven't told you this.

And they get in the car and I said, and they were like, thank you, thank you. I said, I'm so, so sorry. This was not my plan. You know, I'm just like apologizing. And she starts crying. And I was like, are you okay? I'm thinking something's wrong with her, you know, and she, and the husband was behind her and he said, she's your biggest fan.

And I was like, oh, boy, okay. I said, really? And she said, I love you. I love listening to you on the podcast. And I was like, well, that's really, really sweet. I cannot remember their name. I remember her name is Jessica, but I can't remember his name. And I can't remember where they were from.

But they were just, they were helping me open the gate to the front. He helped me carry the stuff into the house. And I said, y'all can see the house if you want to and help me bring all my stuff in. And they were just like, we just won the lottery. I needed them too But I just thought Something will change with all of that But I thought

I'm realizing that these people are coming I want to say they're from Georgia I could be completely wrong There was a lot of people from North Georgia that I met yesterday But they were just servants to I mean how can we help you? I got out to get the gate before he realized

what I was doing And he was like oh no no I'll get the gate for you. But it seems like everybody at that event are fans are, no, you first. Please go ahead of me. They're never like, oh, no, I'm in line first. You get behind me. They're just not like that, you know?

And I love that about our listeners, about our fans. I feel like they want to do good, as Phil would say. They want to help others. They want to serve others. And yesterday, that part was so refreshing. to me to be able to just be with the people and see them and get to know some of them. Well, and I think you guys have, you know, one is shown generosity by hosting it every year and it's a free event. Everybody gets to come and just enjoy it with their families.

Now they're actually planning it as a vacation, a lot of people that I met. But you guys set the tone with that of having a spiritual atmosphere. It is patriotic as well because it's always around our Independence Day. This year, even more. but I just think that by having folks sharing the gospel and people being, so the way I, Jason, I don't know if you heard this on the first of my sermon because I was thanking everybody for being there, I said, we'll have a dunking booth out there, but we don't dunk fools. We dunk sinners.

Which is true. And so that's another thing. Where do you go to something like that where that's going on at the same time? So I think that sets the tone for people that it is a spiritual environment. And so that's the way we should add. But we should really be that way anywhere. Well, you know, Al, and I'm sure that you know this, but Life Choice Pregnancy Center is out there with their air-conditioned bus. And every life diapers, who is a sponsor, which they're amazing.

They sent hundreds and hundreds of diapers where mothers and fathers could change their babies in the air-conditioned bus. But also, they provided free ultrasounds for pregnant girls, pregnant women. If they want to hear the heartbeat, see the heartbeat of their baby, save that. baby's life if you're thinking about not letting it, you know, into this world. And so it's just, I wasn't able to get out there again this year. But I know they were there and I know they were busy. And it's just, again, no one's getting paid for any of this. All of that is just, it's costing them. It's costing them to come out. And it's just a wonderful, wonderful event. So I'm, I'm, decompressing right now as I'm talking about this. That's why we had you on, Missy. We know you needed

and therapy. Usually as Zach, they were having this doing the therapy. Last night, I was like, we might not order to turn this into a fall festival. No. We already have one called the Mia Mu Fund day. We're not doing another one. We found out that, you know, our last two events, we've lost power. We had Mia Mu and we lost, or was that the year?

We did at Camp Chioca. We lost power. But they, the electrical company, old Scotty, Landy, which, by the way, when you were talking about your electrical guy, he has quite the fantastic coming to the lower. He was one of these people that we were sharing Jesus with somebody else, and he just happened to be there. Oh, I didn't know that. Oh, yeah, it's quite the story.

I love that guy, and he's a redneck for Jesus. Have a hard time I'm understanding, kind of like Godwin. Because Godwin spoke before I did, and I thought, this is tough with no mic and no subtitles. But it was beautiful. What's funny is, Si had a mic, because it was on, and he yelled the whole time, so loud it hurt your ear because I mean I was standing a way away yeah I could hear me yelling but what I was so we were I was kind of rethinking because they said that it was the heat that

called I knew what happened because this transformer blew up and I just because I came later than everyone else and this cop said I stopped up there because they had road there was a policeman that Missy I guess just paid them all at every corner and he said well good luck he said I just saw this transformer blow up. I'm pretty sure they don't have power. I was like, what do you mean by blow up? He said, oh, it was like 4th of July explosion. I thought, ooh.

Fireworks early. So I was getting firsthand knowledge. But later they said it's because of the heat this was happening all over the Twin Cities. Wow. Because it got up to about 98 yesterday. Well, some of our volunteers are, you know, workers, like construction workers, electricians. They were like, it's a fuse, something, something in the public. Quick fix.

Quick fix. And I was like, that Entergy has to get here to do the quick fix. Which didn't happen. I'm sorry. When you said quick fix, the guy just explained to me that a pretty high explosive. I did notice right behind the tent I was in, there was an ambulance sitting right in the middle, I guess, in case. And they were having a pretty regular flow of people coming in.

I guess they were giving them. They were. I asked about it. They were in a major. I don't think it's anything bad, just like people did. They gave me a report. And they were like, because I took a picture with them later. But they were like, nothing major.

Just cool them down a little bit. So I think that was a good touch. But even Chancy, she was singing, and I ran into her. And she said, she said, well, when I was singing, I was a little lightheaded, you know, just because, you know, you're going into energy. I was the same way, just hollering for 30 minutes. But I turned it into, I'm like, we don't have any power. What are you talking about?

Romans 8-11, the power of the soul. spirit that is in us, the same one that raised Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal body. So if you're looking for some power, we got it. Right here, I held the Bible up. I thought it was a pretty good line. Romans won. That is pretty good. We had the power of the spirit. But it was something good about that. I did an unusual gospel presentation. I don't know if it's because I was on the porch, hollering the whole time. I didn't go the duck calls and the funny stories.

It was just, I really did about what we saw, which is God who is love. And I kind of went through the Trinity being this idea of who is God loving before the creation of the world. And, you know, in Jesus' prayer, which I'd never done that in a gospel presentation, but I read those moments when it says, this is eternal life. you know, John 17, 3, to know God and his son, Jesus. And then he gets to the end and he's like, I want, he's, and I said, he's praying for you sitting in this audience right here, the ones who would believe in his message, that they could

share the love that we had, Jesus speaking to God, the Father, that we shared before the creation of the world. and I think that's such a cool thing about the good news of Jesus that he's inviting us into this intimate relationship of an eternal sharing of love. And that's why he and John 13, he showed him, you want to know what I'm about? And he, I mean, he's the most powerful person to ever visit the planet, obviously.

And he's bending down despite their rejection and denials and unbelief and sins. he's washing their feet. Yeah. And he's like, as I've done to you, I want you to do to others, love and serve. So I really think that's what this life is about on this planet. Because most people look around, they're like, where's God? Yeah. There's so much evil and corruption.

But you go out there and see a group of people that are loving and serving and looking to a higher power that's eternal. It's pretty powerful. So, because we're out of time. But just to wrap up, because everybody, I only met a few hundred of you. yesterday at both our church and out there. But you all listen to the podcast. So I know you're all listening to us talking about it. So I just want to say thank you. We are all impressed that you guys choose to come here. Absolutely. You know, especially in the, probably the hardest time to

function outside of air conditioning in there. But like Jay said, you know, we grew up that way. I mean, so, you know, you do realize we're just a little softer. And we always talk about the weather. But we are humbled that we get to do that. And Jason and Missy, I just want to thank you guys publicly for hosting it because it is great. And we look forward to you guys coming every year. And I met a lot of, you know, like there are return people, but there's always a bunch of new people this first time they've ever done.

I asked how many people were there the year before. It was way less than usually. Right, right. A lot of new people. And I just talked to a guy from Canada, which just always seems so weird. Because there is an element of 250 years as a nation, America. And he's like, I'm from Canada. And I went, oh, Canada.

Wrong independence day, buddy. Well, but Jesus brings people together. I mean, Peter said, hey, we're the holy nation within a nation. So anyway, so thank you all for everything. And obviously, thanks to God for, you know, even though the evil one was attacking in various ways to make, You guys uncomfortable. It still was amazing, as always.
