Starting point is 00:00:00 I am unashamed. What about you? You know, I've been real impressed since the hurricane about our community, people helping each other out. It's just like everyone gathers and just helps. I mean, I think about that diverse love your neighbor. So I'm giving Jeff and Jessica a report because their house is. two houses from mine, but since they're living in Austin, and they kept their house in Westboro here, and they're renting it out.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Well, two trees fell, one across their driveway and one right next to the house, but the house is fine. It did just, you know, they had some chicken coops and all. And so, you know, we're having this conversation, and he's like, man, I just, I really miss the neighborhood. And he's like, you're not going to believe what happened to us. I said, what? you know where he's at and they're in the south texas but they're part of this uh what's it called
Starting point is 00:01:05 the h oa eight i had a big run in with them homeowners association yeah the homeowners he said we had a big run in and i said what happened he said so we have a trampoline in our backyard and we get this letter from the h oa saying we need to remove the trampoline so jep's like i go read the H-O-A, man, you know, and it says there's nothing in here about trampolines. They're like, oh, yeah, it's fine to have a trampoline unless one of your neighbors deems that as disrupting their lives visually. So I said, let's say, let me get this right. So Jeff's out there taking down the trampoline because a neighbor said that it was disrupt, the site of the trampoline is disrupting their lives. yeah well i was so shocked you know because i had my run in with the hoa
Starting point is 00:02:04 and of course when they got they saw it on national television they all got embarrassed so we went from having no chickens that's what the whole thing was over you couldn't have chickens now everybody's got chickens because they're like the organic play actually worked because these same type of people everything needs to be organic well why not why go to the grocery throwing it's going to get some eggs when you can raise your own eggs. Yeah. So then when they found that vein, but in this vein, I just think there's something wrong with our culture
Starting point is 00:02:36 when you can look at something like that. People jump on a trampoline and say, no. That triggers me. And then you have to disassemble it and tell you, I said, Jeff, you need to move. Of course, I live, you know, right beside him. So we're going to have to break. So it's in a subdivision, like a neighborhood.
Starting point is 00:02:55 It's in a subdivision. And, you know, we have some disrupt. They call it disruption, which I wasn't familiar. It's disrupting their lives. Disruption, Phil. But Jeff said the same neighbors, because then he had to find out who they were. We found ourselves in a situation in America to where neighbors are dreaming up any type scenario so we can have a rankle here. I mean, they're looking around saying unless everything I see pleases me, I'm going to revolt against it all.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Yeah. That's where we found ourselves. It's the opposite. Have you had issues with your neighbors? I don't have any neighbors. But when did everybody get so sensitive? Oh, that's where we're at now. I mean, Jeff's have the same neighbors.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Look, their dog, Jeff's dog, the most loving dog ever. It's a big, giant black poodle. and I really like this dog but it was like barking at them as they walked you know by the you know just down the street but so the the couple stopped
Starting point is 00:04:05 because they have dogs and they were like it's okay it's fine and just they were talking the dog like it was like you know I mean look I love dogs talking to their dog or the yeah they were talking to their dogs saying
Starting point is 00:04:19 it's going to be traumatized it's okay because another dog was barking at their dogs. Jeff said, I should have known right there. They're going to say no to the traveling. Jesus brought it up when he said, you strain gnats. You straining nets. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Trying to find some little problem with your neighbor. You go to great lengths to just strain gnats. He said, when in reality you've got a plank in your own eye. But you're trying to strain gnats. Yeah. Everybody else is. And that's the type mind that does this kind of stuff. It's of the evil one.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Well, we're sitting on the porch this past week, and Jill had some friends over, had like a little, I don't know, a little get-to-know-you party, open house for someone, because we're homeschooling this semester, just because everything's crazy with COVID. And we're like, it's just homeschool. Let's hit the road. We bought a sprinter van. We're going to go out west, so we got some plans. Well, she's host.
Starting point is 00:05:19 But good for you on the homeschooling because we're about down to it. Well, we're about down to it. You can't trust the education system now. Well, most schools, I think, are not even meeting. No, they're not even meeting anyway. So we were at a private school. There's no God with the school system. Well, the one we were at was a great school.
Starting point is 00:05:36 It's just that I didn't want my kids covered up with a mass eight hours a day. I didn't think that was spiritually helpful. So anyways, we're sitting on the porch. I wasn't out there. The ladies are sitting out there having coffee and whatever she made for, little croissants or whatever. and on our front porch in our yard on my property and a man drives up and he stops right in front of my house and he rolls down his window and he starts screaming at the girls hey hey hey hey where are your mask
Starting point is 00:06:06 really yeah yeah and like i'm like i went out there but but they were telling me that this just happened this guy just drove up and screamed at us and told us to put our mask on sitting on my front porch So even in my own home and my own property, that triggered him. And he was offended. He was really disturbed. The mask police. Yeah. Even on your own front porch.
Starting point is 00:06:33 You know, I just don't know what's happened. I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's. We have a world full of pussycats. I don't know what to say to that. I don't either. When I thought about Jep telling me that, over at the trampoline what's weird is when I right after the once the hurricane had subsided which everybody around here then they all go looking you know see what what happened to somebody
Starting point is 00:07:03 else under the great code the great code and I call it great code that one should live under make it your ambition to live a quiet life mind your own business, that guy, if it's not mind his own business, he's hot on it, your children, but whether or not they have a mask on their face or not, he's doing the opposite. Quiet life, mind your own business. Work hard with your hands doing something that's good so your daily life or win the respect of outsiders so that you won't have to be dependent on anyone, including. the government, the neighbors.
Starting point is 00:07:54 So the way to fulfill that is move to the middle of nowhere to begin with. Well, I think it's why we need to share Jesus as our purpose. I mean, to me, when people say, why are we here, why don't Jesus just come back? Why are we waiting? What's the whole deal with if God's eternal? Why did he insert time? The love of Jesus solves the entire dilemma. He sobs it all.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Having said that, you want to respond unfavorably, but you realize that Jesus said love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself, which can be extremely difficult at times. It's very difficult for me to love someone who is sending their dogs to counseling because my dog barked it theirs.
Starting point is 00:08:49 That's why it reads, if it is possible, try to live at peace with all, if it's possible. Try to live at peace with all men. Be careful. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. That's also there. That's Romans 12. Look at up. But you're not going to be able to fix that in the short term.
Starting point is 00:09:16 No. This is an introduction to Jesus. You're going to have to change, completely transform. If you're being disrupted at the side of a trampoline, we're going to have to go to Jesus on this because your whole life narrative is going to have to change. Because what I was going to say is... Every time, Jace, when you see that kind of mind, there is no Jesus there. If he's there, you won't see that.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Well, obviously. But what I was going to say is what happened during the hurricane, were, you know, trampolines were a problem. Yeah. Because the wind got most of them, and you saw trampolines in strange places. I mean, right out of my driveway, there was the two power poles that were both snapped, and the cables were laying across the road. But tangled up in between was a trampol.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Somebody's trampoline. So at some point, it went airborne, hit the lines, tangled it up, and ripped the whole thing down. So when he was telling me this, I thought that he was going to say that. I thought he's going to say, because there's a hurricane coming, and it might become a projectile, which would be reasonable. It might blow your kids away. But, oh, no, this is just the sight of your kids jumping on a trampoline causes disruption in my life. That's bizarre. That's the strangest thing I've ever heard.
Starting point is 00:10:37 So look, now, Jelp is headed to the meeting, you know, Manila folder in hand. Is he going to fight it? Well, he's going to just get some clarification. Yeah, get some clarification. But he's already taken down the trampoline. I said, Jelp, the difference in being used. They need solid food. It's further mature, who by constant use, have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Starting point is 00:11:08 When you're looking at a trampoline with kids playing on it across the road over there, and it bothers you. There's nothing evil about that. Let's take a quick break. It's a good thing. The kids are at their having a big time. Let's take a quick break. I thought the same thing when I saw those trees laying down in my yard in the neighborhood. I thought something I've said many times.
Starting point is 00:11:35 You see, trees do not need hugs. They don't need them. They're just there. You have an order of things, which I go always go back to, Romans 1, you have God, you have humans, you have animals, you have vegetation, trees. When that starts getting out of whack, that's why if you're stopping having to counsel your dog and you're over there hugging trees, you know, a big storm, that's just a bad idea. They worship created things rather than the creator.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Yeah, that's the problem. And that's where the feudal thinking comes from. but I think you're hitting on, honestly, the biggest problem in Western culture right now is that it's a side effect of the virtual community, the virtual world. If you're not having face-to-face interactions with people and you can sit behind a keyboard and be a warrior behind the keyboard, you never really have to deal with the implications of your communication. And so I think we're getting so into ourselves. like, I mean, we're just becoming a narcissistic society. What the gospel does fix that because it forces you to recognize, number one, that you're sinful,
Starting point is 00:12:53 and number two, that if you're in Christ, then you're saved and redeemed from your wicked rebellion, which number three causes the opposite of entitlement. It causes thankfulness. It's really not them. It's the one in them. We don't rise against flesh and blood against the powers of this dark world. the rulers of spiritual forces of evil and the heavenly realms. Once he gained control of a man, he'll start stopping and say,
Starting point is 00:13:21 I don't think you ought to have your kid jumping on a trampoline. You say, there's far deeper issues with those people than you think it is. You know, it's crazy. The neighborhood pays money to the HOA to tell them to enforce these stupid rules. I mean, that's the dumbest thing. I mean, I thought not being able to have your own chickens was the dumbest thing I'd ever heard. But no. What do you think would happen if Jep went into the Homeowners Association meeting and said, and filed a complaint that he was disturbed by someone complaining,
Starting point is 00:13:58 by someone being disturbed about his trampoline? Would his disturbance think he'd need to use the word, I've been disrupted by the disruption. Yes. That's what he needs to do. Because he kept saying that one. word. I said, why do you keep saying things? That's the term. That's what it's under.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Anything that ends with association, remove that from planet earth. You know, you say, well, who's the homeowners association in your neck of the woods? I said, I am the homeowners association. One man.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Here's the way it's going to be. If they get behind the gate, you're the king back there. I don't have neighbors. No neighbors. And the reason I don't have neighbors is because of what you said. No one drives by me. But what happened? You're supposed to love your neighbor, but you don't have any. That's right.
Starting point is 00:14:45 So I must leave my house and get beyond where I live and get out of a locked fortress to actually say, how you're doing pretty good? You've got red. I mean, he's up the road a little bit. He's a neighbor. The redneck called me yesterday. He said, Phil. Yeah. He said, I'm over here.
Starting point is 00:15:05 I was driving around a very old friend of Jackson, Mississippi, somewhere. he said, Becky, run out of gas and the generator down there. Can you go get some gas for her? He knew I didn't mean go to the gas station. He called me because I am the gas station down there where we're from. And he said, could you get them a little gas to get the generator so they can stay cool, get the air conditioner? I said, I'll get it. So I drove up there, fired the generator up, got a couple five-gallon can of gas, shut the generator down at the back of the truck.
Starting point is 00:15:38 the gas. I pulled up in front of Red's house, I knew it wouldn't have to get out. Look, when rednecks, when it comes to gasoline and stuff like that, I just pull up there. It didn't say a word. I just pull them a truck up there. And rednecks just come out of the carnage, the heap of debris. And I don't know what all was in the yard, but it was a lot. But I just saw two or three rednecks coming. I'm just sitting down the truck. They pulled them five-gallon cans out. there kind of knotted their head you know and I went on back down there where I started right no words for exchange I did a good deed for my neighbors I provided the gas you can remember this is like Fort Knox to get to that gas video surveillance you know watching them gas tanks at all time
Starting point is 00:16:27 because you've got your own gas station down there since I got my own gas station but it's under 24 hour surveillance so if they steal it so the first thing they did when I put them in there they're looking around at these little round thing that said, he's filming this. Oh, my goodness, we can't steal this gas. Don't mess with him because he'll get you on camera. And then you got to go spend a few days and to clink if we try to steal his gas. That's the world we live in now. Those are my neighbors.
Starting point is 00:16:55 Do you have your own gas? And Jason's right. It's difficult sometimes to love your neighbor as far as it depends on you, on me. Okay, I'll go get them the gas. that will alleviate the threat of them stealing it. You understand what I'm saying? What's weird? So I provide it.
Starting point is 00:17:13 I'd rather give it to them than they try to go down and steal it. Then the question is, do we get a hold of law enforcement, or do I let that ride? So I try to err on the side of being generous. They know who up. They've never heard her cuss word come out of my lips. They're up there talking trash. I'll put up there. But when they need something, they'll call down there.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Can we boil your tractor? We've got a tree and I said, yeah, you can borrow it. So I'm good to them. I'm good to them. I've covered my tracks all the way with them. What's crazy is this kind of paranoid, delusional conspiracy theories that Phil gets into that seems kind of crazy. When a hurricane hits, he actually seems really smart. He's the guy you want to be with.
Starting point is 00:18:02 He's got his generator, he's got his own gathers. station, he's got all his, you know, he's got food. They thought I was jokingly saying at one time, but in the redneck world that surrounds me, I'm serious. I am 911. When they get in a bind, they call down there, you know. I think you were joking, but I will say this, because you couldn't go to a gas station for two days. I mean, unless you wanted to wait two hours.
Starting point is 00:18:26 That's correct. Just sheer panic. To get around that, I've got two thousand gallon tanks that, with it. We have to keep cleaning all of that with pumps on them. Just to get around the fact that you try to get up there. Here comes a blow or a tornado. And then you're trying to get gags. There's a line five miles.
Starting point is 00:18:45 I mean, I'm not. And I don't mean panic as a negative. With a little planning, you can survive on planet Earth. But the whole thing come down, rely on God and heal on and practice self-reliance. You rely on God, but that's as far as it goes. But it took you 74 years. It's actually 74 years to actually have the payoff on the hurricane. You live and learn.
Starting point is 00:19:08 Yeah. You know. For that week. For that week, Phil was on the top of the mountain. Well, he still's got his setup thing. He didn't have to go to town and get gas. You know, that's a pretty good setup. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Yeah, that's true. You got to remember, make it your ambition so that you won't be dependent. Oh, we got it. Once you go down the dependent road. Phil, you're not dependent on anybody else. I'm telling you, man. I got it. I'm a low-tech man and a high-tech world,
Starting point is 00:19:40 but I saw all this coming. I thought, okay, I'm beginning to understand now. You better be self-reliant, rely on God, trust he and him only, but governments of men and, you know, neighbors and all. You love them, you try to live before them, so they can't get you on anything. I hear you say one cuss word, you're out. They're like all.
Starting point is 00:20:01 They're like us. A HOA come down there with a notebook and write down all the things that are disrupting to their lives just on Phil's property. Yeah, you got some disruption going on down there. If you had, if you had neighbors, you would have some disruption, some major disruption. You want to test your firearms, you are free to do so in and around my abode. I got old Phil Riley over there. He lives a quiet life. He and his woman right next to us.
Starting point is 00:20:29 You know, if I see somebody attack them, love always protects. I would go over there and take a bullet farm. They're my neighbors. They live inside the compound. I'll go over it. Yeah, that is true. You do have one neighbor. I forget about it.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Phil Riley and this woman. And he had Burley for a while. Well, Burley was not a neighbor. Burley just showed up and didn't leave. Well, he built the house, right? Well, he built a house, but he doesn't stay there. He stays a family. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:59 I asked him, I said, I don't understand why you built a house if you never stay there. I said he should have kept it. I gave him the land to build it. Yeah. Owned. I gave it to him. But he stayed. He built the house, sold it, and fleeced Gordon.
Starting point is 00:21:17 And that's yours, the dad. Well, then Gordon gets it for a while. And then he fleeces Willie. But it came back around, and now it's back with the Robertsons. And what started the whole thing is I gave it. the land free of charge. I didn't charge him anything. I said, here it is.
Starting point is 00:21:34 You didn't have the land build on it. He built on it, made him some money at it. And then the next one, they sold it. They were going around that exchange. So Willie. So Willie has a real break. Yeah. So started out, I was generous.
Starting point is 00:21:50 I said, bro, he said, I'd show like to live down there. I said, Mark your office spot around there. He said, how much are you going to charge him? I said, I'll give it to you. He said, what? I said, I'll give it to. He went to drawing up papers. He went to, I was just going to give it to him.
Starting point is 00:22:04 I thought that'd do it. My word was enough. Well, he lived in it for a few years. And he lived on it for a few years, but he drew up papers and drew off a pretty good little chunk and came up there. And I said, how far as this go? Let's see what here. Yeah. I said, bro, I told you I'd give it to you.
Starting point is 00:22:21 Boy, you draw on, these lines are pretty wide here. He got as much as he thought he could get away with. I said, that's fine. I thought he gave it to him. Well, it ended up. Yeah. It's back down. Willie, my son owns it now, so it's back to where it was before we started.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Yeah, Willie's got it as like a riverhouse. You might should have considered some legal advice before. Just be generous, Chase. What, it created a pretty good mess. So now Willie bought it. But it didn't come from me. I was the one that said, here. This is the strangest story I've ever heard.
Starting point is 00:22:56 Willie wound up buying land that you gave away. That is correct. Well, it was land And then a house was built Burrell saw a way to make some money Built the cabin Fleeced Gordon his daddy Gordon saw how he could make some money
Starting point is 00:23:12 He fleeced Willie Not realizing that I had given it to him To begin with But to be fair You can turn a profit without fleecing somebody I think they Yeah Willie's not fleeced
Starting point is 00:23:23 If you can never A fleece Willie Because he's got enough money To where it's not Doesn't matter But he probably overpaid. He probably overpaid for it. What I gave away, came back.
Starting point is 00:23:35 It's still adjacent to me. And since it's Willie that he's my son, every once while I go over there. In fact, I went over there and I checked the surrounding to see how many trees because it's surrounded by huge trees, not a wanted blown down. But he's kind of tucked underneath that hill there a little bit. I think that helped him. And we're a little bit at the base of the hill. So the big winds were coming hard.
Starting point is 00:24:00 but being at the base of that hill was just enough to tone it down, tone them down a little bit. So I was fortunate. Yeah. Well, the ultimate fleecer in Scripture was Judas, by the way. Yeah. There's a good segue for you. John 12, we were talking about Judas last week,
Starting point is 00:24:19 and just kind of his mentality of really wanting to take advantage of Jesus. One thing we didn't mention in the last episode that I thought was interesting about John 12, was that Mary really understood the worth of the person that she was worshipping. Yeah. I mean, Jesus really is worthy of a year's salary. What's astounding in these particular texts in John chapter 12. Twice it says what the prophets had written that fit this time from.
Starting point is 00:24:57 They took palm branches when Jesus showed up. went out to meet him shouting, Hosanna, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Now, watch this. Blessed is the king of Israel. That's once. At first, your disciples, yeah, and the next says, don't be afraid, old daughter of Zion.
Starting point is 00:25:16 See, your king is coming. Remember, John the Baptist was hollering, repent for the kingdom is at hand. Jesus from that time on started saying, repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The disciples were sent out, and their message was repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. They're all saying the same thing.
Starting point is 00:25:43 Now here's a look at the king. My question is to all the religious world. If the king arrived riding on a donkey, and everybody's saying it is at hand, how could you ever conclude the kingdom of God is not here on planet earth. It's here, and these are three members of it talking to an audience 2,000 years later. You understand my point?
Starting point is 00:26:09 Yeah. The kingdom is here. We're operating underneath a constitutional republic, which makes it much easier to function in today's culture. It's way easier if the kingdom of God can function under a country, that says from the beginning, we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal. They've been endowed by their creator
Starting point is 00:26:37 for certain inalienable rights, life, liberty, pursuit of happening. It's easy for the kingdom there. We have found ourselves in the last three or four months. We're seeing how fast they can turn on the kingdom of God. The Democratic platform, I read it, There is no mention of God in their platform, not one word. Nothing about Jesus, nothing about God, nothing about the Spirit.
Starting point is 00:27:07 You say, they've turned from God, and they're wanting to turn this thing upside down where the kingdom of God will be persecuted severely. They don't want us to sing past edicts. Can't sing songs. Somebody get the corona every opportunity. You can't meet together anymore. They just attack it. They burn the churches out there in Washington, D.C.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Burn that church. You're like, they're anti-God. Well, I just think it's their base is not the religious world. I think they're the forces of evil. They are satanic to the core of their being. That's what I think. The last thing he wants is God in the equation. Now we are at each other, and the forces of evil are running headlong.
Starting point is 00:27:51 We're going to find out in this next election where the godly are. We fixed to find out. What I was going to say, what's interesting when you go back, when you're talking about the kingdom, being predicted, you know, that goes back to Daniel 2, the greatest kingdom ever. To come during the kingdom of iron, the Romans. One thing, I had a, you know, I have about five guys that I studied the Bible with, and it's not a scheduled meeting. We just, we'll have a thought, and somebody else sent me a text, it's usually the same five guys. And people always say that, well, how do you, you know, what is the key to studying your Bible, reading the Bible?
Starting point is 00:28:31 To me, since I'm not very disciplined with that, I have guys who I have relationships with who ask biblical questions. And so, and I have enough of them where it's almost a daily thing. But one of them put this on me, and I thought it's pretty interesting, he said, you know, when you get to John 12, Jesus, you know, everything had a shadow from the Old Testament. And he went back to Exodus 12. He said, do you ever notice that Jesus basically replicated what happened when the Israelites were under the plagues? And you remember all that?
Starting point is 00:29:10 And you had to put the blood on the door frame or whatever. Barrow was being one pestilence and plague after the next. And I was like, well, what's this got to do with John 12? And he's like, well, John 121 says six days before the Passover, Jesus arrived. arrived at Bethany. And then he's like six days before the Passover. You know the significance of that? And I was like, uh, no. And then he read John 12, 12. It said the next day, the great crowd that had come for the feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. He said, well, when you go back to Exodus 12 and you read verse 3, this is really interesting. It says, tell the whole community of Israel that
Starting point is 00:29:53 on the 10th day of this month, each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. So we start talking about what you do for your neighbor here, and we have these plagues going on, and we're going to sacrifice a lamb, which seems barbaric. in our culture. I mean, how about that? You know, trying to fly that in our culture today.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Oh, yeah. Wouldn't work. So then it gets to verse 6 of Exodus 12 and says, take care of them until the 14th day of the month when all the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight. Well, when you do the math, and I just introduce it enough where if you want to go down that rabbit hole and look, you'll find that Jesus on the same day that they did of the,
Starting point is 00:30:53 month became the lamb that's why when the woman uh mary put the perfume on him preparing me for the burial it was the same day of the month which was a mirror image of what happened with the lamb but then when you take that into account men when john the baptist and john two said look the lamb of god that takes away the sins of the world yep and so i just thought it was incredible i'd never noticed it Here comes you're the one that the lamb so that I will pass over you. That's exactly right. Let's break real quick. So to me, I'm like, first of all, how did Moses, if we give him credit, which most do, of writing Exodus,
Starting point is 00:31:42 how in the world is he concocting a story thousands of years before that now Jesus claiming to be the son of God coming from a virgin with the ability to do all these which is Genesis 315 is now riding into Jerusalem on the exact day and emulating what happened. Like Zacharaj said. Yeah. And now he's on a donkey. They're saying, here's the king of the greatest kingdom that will ever be on the planet because it's not of the planet. That will last forever.
Starting point is 00:32:17 How did all this tie in? Because all they did was find these scrolls, thousands of years of place. heart and it and it fits yesterday i told those people before i baptize them i said if when they ask you who are y'all i said you tell them we're members of the kingdom of god we have a king jesus i wrote a book about it jesus politics that was my point on the whole thing it's how the kingdom of god functions within a man-made government. The problem with man-made governments with all their, and especially ours,
Starting point is 00:32:55 with all of its great qualities, our government can't remove our sin and our government can't raise us from the dead. We love you. We would die to protect you, but you're not the one we're dependent on. We're dependent on the one who can raise us from the dead after he cleanses us with his blood.
Starting point is 00:33:16 So here and a moment, America that used to be easily done to function as the kingdom. It's becoming more and more difficult, but the good news is when we're really under duress and we're really under persecution, that's when we do the best. The Romans decided they were the kingdom of the earth that'll last forever, and they turned on the kingdom of God, fed our brothers to the lions and tigers and slaughtered them. You said, what came out of it? We're still here and Rome was no longer a world power. Their empire is gone. The kingdom is still here. We won. We won then and we'll win this time too. No matter what happens to the United States on who you finally put
Starting point is 00:34:01 in there. A heathen or not, Joe Biden, whatever. You're like, the kingdom will still survive. I think that's an important note for Christians for sure. I mean, I think that's what Jesus said. He came proclaiming the gospel. It's an eternal kingdom. He came proclaiming the gospel and the kingdom. That is correct. And you know. And you can't separate the two. You can't.
Starting point is 00:34:23 But it bothers me a lot when we talk about, for me personally, this is my own personal walk and Christ, it was liberating for me to understand the theology behind the kingdom because I had been raised, not by my parents so much, but just by the church culture thinking that you come to Christ, you repent of your sins, you grind it out for 80 years, and then you get to experience the kingdom. That's not the Bible. Well, we've already touched on that many, many times. Jay said it right when he said, everything points to Jesus and your knowledge of him.
Starting point is 00:35:00 Yeah. Because you'll know the truth, Jesus, the truth, and the truth, what he did, his death on a cross, will set you free from Satan, sin, guilt, law, and the grave. Well, that's game. that match. Yeah. Any way you want to slice it. He says it right here in 1230.
Starting point is 00:35:22 He says this voice was for your benefit because God speaks, which is kind of funny. And because he says later that was for your benefit, not mine, which is a humorous mom. All of a sudden, some of them thought it had thundered or whatever. But what he said was awesome. Now is the time for judgment on this world. now the prince of this world will be driven out but i when i am lifted up from the earth will draw all men to myself so here's the lamb of god we just went through about the passover because the significant thing in exodus 12 was that the lamb needed to be without defect which we know what that represents
Starting point is 00:36:09 well jesus was the perfect sacrifice because he's the son of god he came from a verse And oh yeah, he never seen. And so now here's the lamb riding on a donkey, which was used to herd the sheep. You know, it wasn't like he was just doing this for the heck of it. He was trying to show you a picture. And he had just elevated the status of this woman, Mary, because she got the principle that he's the way. You know, let me prepare what's fixed. She got it.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Kind of like John the Baptist did when he's, because it always intrigued me that John the Baptist, his impression of Jesus, which is what I do in my speeches, I try to, I try to find creative ways to get people to think, what is your image of Jesus? You know, I'll have them close their eyes and picture God because I want to know what they see. Most of them, nothing. Because it's hard to live in this life with all that we have going on. If you don't have this. faith being sure of what you're hope for and certain of what you do not see. And so for years, I missed it, just like a lot of my friends, I was trying to get to heaven. And like what you said, I was thinking, boy, at some point in heaven, we're going to experience the kingdom. And I missed the point that when you experience Jesus, oh, you got it. Here and the future.
Starting point is 00:37:39 I mean, this is it. Because the experience of the kingdom, this is key. It only happens when you experience the king. That's right. There's no kingdom without the king. And it's explained in Hebrews 1. In the past, God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways.
Starting point is 00:37:58 They all spoke of, as Jays would say, Jesus is coming. Jesus is coming. But in these last days, he has spoken to us by his son, whom he appointed heir of all things, king and through whom he made the universe. He goes back to the beginning. The sun is the radiance of God's glory, the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful
Starting point is 00:38:28 word. After he provided purification for sins, John 12, when I'm lifted up, I'll bring all men to myself. After he did that, he sat down at the right hand of the majesty in heaven. The only way to, he just said he's going to be purification of sins he died well he would have had to been raised to go back and sit down at the right hand of the father so it's all right there so he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior theirs and he starts down this big list he mentions in verse 8 of hebrews your throne oh god will last forever and ever that's what that's what Daniel said, you know, way before Jesus got there, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. So here we are.
Starting point is 00:39:21 We're righteous because we're in Jesus. He made us righteous. I'm not ashamed of the gospel because it's the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes, first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel, a righteousness is received. A righteousness from God is made known. Let's break for just a second here. I wanted to read the explanation of why Mary was so valued in Jesus' eyes.
Starting point is 00:39:56 When he got to John 1228, he replied, The hour has come for the son of man to be glorified, which she had put the perfume on him to prepare him for that. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. And, you know, we think about that when we see the destruction of a hurricane. You say all this stuff fall and die, but we know what's going to happen,
Starting point is 00:40:25 which goes to the creator or the creation demanding a creator. Because you see all this death, and then you see life. It starts over. It's in your mind. A big track of timber we just got over there. Huge trees. hundreds of them fell with this wind. But the other day, I pointed out to my daughter and her man,
Starting point is 00:40:49 we were in the four wood and I'm driving along and I stopped. I said, look out there on the ground. What do you see? Now, this huge block of timber with gigantic trees, which the hurricane blew down, a lot of them, but underneath on the ground, the seedlings, the little trees, they're this tall.
Starting point is 00:41:11 they're there by the millions. As far as you could see up through those big open woods, it was trees about that tall. I said, reckon we're ever going to run out of trees here? One acre and falls and there's a tree. One another acon falls and there's another tree and another acin. That's what Jesus was talking. Well, I noticed that when I was gathering all the limbs up.
Starting point is 00:41:35 I mean, incredible. I would take the limbs and put them on a tarp, you know, and move them. But then what was left was all those acres. That's where I thought about this. Because then he said the man, but he says, but if it dies, it produces many seeds, which he was talking about his own life. Jesus' death was going to produce life in all of us.
Starting point is 00:41:54 That's why he said that when I'm lifted up, I believe that's on the cross. Look, one of them big old trees, even if it dies and falls, you say, what's underneath it? In a circle around or where the acres have been falling, it's just solid trees. If it dies, you say thousands come up.
Starting point is 00:42:14 That's a principle that keeps paying forward. Even in our own story, I die with Christ and baptism, Romans 6, and then I'm raised to live a new life. I mean, there's always a death and then a rebirth when it comes to what Jesus is talking about. Just like a everyone's hitting the ground. People have a hard time. They die and they're raised from the dead. It makes people uncomfortable when they read this next verse because Jesus said, the man who loves his life will lose it,
Starting point is 00:42:42 while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. And that's uncomfortable people. They're like, what in the world? This is my life. Yeah. And so it's almost like a spiritual suicide that he is validating, that people are like, how can that be? Of course, when you understand, when you get to things like baptism,
Starting point is 00:43:08 that's why we focus in on the surrender part, you know, the Romans 6th, it says you died. Or, you know, Colossians 3, you died and your life is now hidden in Christ. Yep. And you realize by surrendering, you then come in contact with that spirit, just like Jesus did.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Yep. And then all of a sudden, what happened? He came back from the dead, and here you are on the earth, literally spiritually raised. Yep. Living through the power of the spirit with Jesus as your Lord, God is your father, making a difference in the world through his power, not yours, and experiencing
Starting point is 00:43:43 the joy, even at the same time while people are saying, well, you're missing out on all of life's treasures. Well, what did he, think about what Jesus is setting up here, too, especially in context of the Holy Spirit. And just a couple chapters, he says, unless I die, unless I die and then go away, and he's not going to come. So you even see the spirit, even in the sense of just him coming to earth to dwell in the believer. Like that has to happen from this rebirth.
Starting point is 00:44:16 A young lady the other day during one of my interviews that they do before you, when you release a book. So one of the people I was talking to, it was a young millennial chick, and she was sitting there. She said, I read your book, Mr. Robinson. she said, but it seems like if you're going to live the way you're talking about, it would take so much of my time. That's what she said. I said, yeah. It takes a lifetime, honey.
Starting point is 00:44:47 She was like, you know, I would like that these are some really awesome things you come up with. She said, but it seems like it, but this takes so much of my time to do that. She wants an ad on. Oh, yeah. She didn't realize it was her entire life. Oh, yeah, it's all of it. Well, people, when you, I made a statement in a sermon one time, offended people, because I said, you know what I hate about life because of this verse where it says,
Starting point is 00:45:13 you know, he who hates his life in this world, I said, I hate the idea of making a ton of money and then retiring, enjoying the pleasures of life, and then dying, and then just leaving whatever I have left to, you know, For someone else to fight over it. I said, I hate that idea. Well, people found that offensive. You know why? Because that's all they're doing.
Starting point is 00:45:39 That's the goal of life. And I'm like, if that is your goal, if that's what you want to experience, you're going to be frustrated. You're going to miss out on something greater. Because that needs to be offensive. If that's all you have is a big bank account and retirement, and you're just sitting around enjoying pleasures on a boat. and then you, you know, you die, which I've often said. It's so weird people live their whole life to retire,
Starting point is 00:46:08 and then they can't do anything because they're old. It's like somebody would say yesterday to me. They said, why would you spend that much time that's so precious to us? Why would you spend that much time with a group of individuals who have come from all over the United States? I said they're fixing to participate in eternity, They will live eternally. The ones that responded here, they're going to live eternally.
Starting point is 00:46:37 That's what they received here. I took the time to explain that to them. That girl, they're saying, it takes so much of your time, she missed the whole point. People are gaining life and immortality from Jesus. I mean. Well, what they missed, do you go back to the hurricane and the trees falling down? And some people in life, and we've seen them on TV, and I always made the joke about the tree hugging.
Starting point is 00:47:04 Some people spend their whole life, you know, planting trees and trying to make a difference and we want to make it green. Look, and I love trees, and I'm all for it. I'm one of the most environmentally friendly people on the planet because I love the creation. We've got thousands of trees been planted over. But look, one storm blows them all down. Now what? You've got to have something bigger on your objective. You can go around and hug them when they hit the ground.
Starting point is 00:47:31 It's just not good. You're spinning your wheels here. You've missed the creator over the creation. Wow. Yep. Well, we can go a little bit longer here for our Blaze TV subscribers. That's if you're a paying Blaze TV subscriber. If you pay the money, you get bonus material.
