Starting point is 00:00:00 I am unashamed. What about you? Bothers me that they're for that. Oh, well, the reason he was, I couldn't help it. I had to respond. Look, you don't, here's the accusation on that. I was like, they shouldn't be God's bull.
Starting point is 00:00:17 And even though I don't know the world who would have a problem with that, I just don't think to have those kind of Mercedes-I. That's what I said. I'd rather you not. But actually, I mean, him doing this approach. to that has always been because you may be right and so what has he stuff that's against one of your see it because i don't read i see one of our listeners sent me one here and it was i guess it was having another home person took a shot at us because i have two homes when there's people
Starting point is 00:00:42 the guy sent it to me because again it down and when he sent it there were all these people do these people defend i thought i didn't defend myself because they'll defend you which is but it doesn't matter that is a waste of time just shared jesus confession i i did this. Hang on, hang on. I can confess it. All right. Let's see. So, I have a couple, or however you want to character that I meet in Austin. I've met, well, the two that I was meeting outside was cold. I don't want to go meet outside. 40 degrees, you know, I'm in me. So I was like, well, let's
Starting point is 00:01:17 just find enough. That's, you know, it's, here's where I messed up. So first is that were going to meet. And so... Your first... You got a meeting inside. The list of mistakes are going to get long in this process. Well, here's what kind of
Starting point is 00:01:34 made me mad. Most of the churches that I felt like I would be my belief system, even though I just said, and somebody, I've said many times, if you love Jesus, let's go. We'll spit out the bomb. But I was trying to kind of look at places
Starting point is 00:01:49 where I thought that most of my surrounding beliefs would line up. And like the top three or fourth, they weren't even meeting because of the coronavirus, which then made me look at them in a negative light.
Starting point is 00:02:01 They're all online. I was like, this is, we're past a year. Give people the option. So they're out because they're not meeting. Then the ones outside, I thought,
Starting point is 00:02:11 it's cold. Just have us a place, so they're out. Well, then, here's where I messed up. This was a little bit of a fist. I then started looking because as I went down
Starting point is 00:02:22 like to the second and third, Google page, I started thinking, well, this group, this crew here looks a little interesting. You know, let's see what they believe. Well, then I got into the, here's, and here's what we believe. When I started reading some of this stuff to miss you, and look, I did not find one group, because some of these lists were long. When they put what we believe, I mean, it went on for days, which made me think, why are they putting this on here? Why don't they just put, we believe Jesus is the son of God? I'll come to that. But they felt like they had to get way down into the week.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Look, every site had these same things of these churches. And I found stuff I just didn't agree with, which made me think, well, I'm not going there. So after we went through all that, I told Missy, I said, We're just staying home. Well, she said, let's just stay home. I knew that's where this is great. And I said, you know what? I said, I made a mistake.
Starting point is 00:03:21 And I want to confess it to you right now. what? I said, I never should have read. No. I said, that's where I went wrong. I told, I said, they shouldn't have written it and I shouldn't have read it. I told the emissary from the Pope. I said, whatever you do, just keep it simple. I said, pawn them to Jesus, preach the message about Jesus, the cross, the resurrection. I said, keep it simple. I said, you don't have to bring out the creeds that you all have and the various doctrines. I said, Just tell them the good news about Jesus and move on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:56 I said, you'd be way better off. That was my advice to him. You know what? It's still sound advice. That's good advice. So after my confession, Missy said, well, where do you want to go? I said, I want to go right here. And we decided, I can't even remember what the name of it was.
Starting point is 00:04:13 It seemed a little more rowdy than what I would normally go. But I said, let's go right. Because it was the closest. Yep. We went. even though like if I'd have read that I read the page there was a couple things that I categorically disagree with that they put this is what we believe do I think it's a big deal no but I just saying I did not agree with their theology and I sure didn't agree that they should put it down there
Starting point is 00:04:45 which I know that makes people uncomfortable you're like well why because I'm like we're all disagree and once you get on the perimeters of things that we do in Jesus. This happened to be about Plus, not only that does, you remember our mentor that taught us the Bible and the one that led to add to Christ, he would always say, well, in my study, and then he would frame it. Here's where I'm at. Here's where I'm at now. Because we watched him over the course of his life, a lot of stuff that he priests and taught earlier later on revealed that I was wrong about that past. So the number one, the number one disagreement that I had with most of them was about the closing statement would all be, we're awaiting the kingdom of God to be established in the next
Starting point is 00:05:38 life and where we'll be a part. And, you know, I'm like, well, I believe it's here now. I'm going to believe we're a part of it. I believe the kingdom is bigger than that. But I believe we're a part it right now the kingdom is here and so does that mean i don't love them no does that mean what if i'm wrong i mean i feel really passionate that i'm right about it and i feel like you're how many arguments have you had with your best friend over that particular i made sure jesus my help i made sure if i give all i possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames but have not love i gain nothing love is patient I don't care who you're talking to.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Love is kind, no matter who you're talking to. It does not envy. It does not boast. It's not proud. It's not rude. It's not self-seeking. It's not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. So when I was talking to the guy who was fixed to go worldwide that the Pope had sent, that's all I wanted him. I loved him and that's all I wanted him to do was go forth and show that. Those qualities. And with the gospel, there's the centerpiece.
Starting point is 00:07:03 That's right. I love it. I think it's exactly what we should be doing. It's not rocket science. Right. You know what's crazy is the other call I got was about a guy who we had brought to the Lord, posting on Facebook. I mean, this is weird.
Starting point is 00:07:18 I get two of these calls. Because most of times somebody would tell me that I wouldn't answer the phone, but I've known these guys for over 20 years. My message to them was get off Facebook, you know, and do something else. But anyway, the other one was a guy we had brought to the Lord, and it was like, boy, he's really downing you on there. Of course, all I've ever tried to do was help that boy. And that situation was more of a, he was an abusive husband.
Starting point is 00:07:45 he was just breaking the law, just a constant pattern for years. And, of course, I know why I don't like me, because I'm like, stop breaking the law. Stop being, you know, committing mayhem in our community, not less just sinning against God. I mean, but in the name of Jesus, if you're going to claim to be Jesus. But anyway, what I found interesting was that he was saying that this fellow had a little group and he had his salvation all worked out and he was telling me about it and part of the thesis
Starting point is 00:08:19 of it was is that he had died and come back to life and so he was asking me which is another one of your favorite pet peece hang on jason let's take one last word well no i just thought it was interesting remember you said you'd only die because you when people tell you they died you know five times or whatever well right well i immediately when he was telling me in conversation i went to the hebrews nine I said, well, I think the Bible is pretty clear in Hebrews 9, just as man is destined to die once, and then face judgment. Now, there is a second death per revelation. You know, that death may be an eternal one. But so I said, well, you know it's a mischaracterization, but I've already thought about that.
Starting point is 00:09:02 I said, you know what it is? I said, here's what the deal is. Whenever someone doesn't want to conform to a life in Jesus, we know that. reason is selfishness. They're selfish. I said, and then when you look at what they're posting and they themselves are emulating the gospel, they now have put their salvation in their death and their resurrection, whether it's he really wasn't dead or, I said, don't you think that's strange?
Starting point is 00:09:35 That's why when people, when I say, you know, what's your story or what's your conversion, a lot of people that I've noticed in all the conversations I've had on couches and in cars, they'll tell you about some near-death experience. And they'll say God, now they'll give credit to God for saving them in this physical realm. But I always say the same thing. In the end, it's not about what happened when you had a wreck
Starting point is 00:09:57 and that God gave you another chance. What happened is what the power of salvation is when Jesus died. We're not worried about your death. What have you done? You were flawed. and you have no answer for that. That's why I think that's the difference. It always comes down to whether you're a self-seeker
Starting point is 00:10:15 or you're wanting to point people to Jesus. Love is not self-seeking. That's right. 1st Corinthians 13, that verse 6. That's why the first call, look, it's not about agreeing in Jesus. It's about agreeing with them. And whatever narrative is surrounding their religious faith. If you don't believe the way we do, you're out.
Starting point is 00:10:39 That's what they say. The gospel and the response to it cuts through a lot of false teaching. Right, Al? That's right. And, you know, the sermon I'm working on, the opposite of Priscilla and Aquila, working together is a married couple that works only to selfishly serve themselves. And you think about it, you go back to Genesis 3, the very first sin committed was really selfishness. Because, you know, Satan's whispering to Eve, and he said, you know, you can be like God.
Starting point is 00:11:09 you know, if you eat this fruit. And so she looks at it. It was good. It was pleasing to the eye. It was good for food. And then she said, and she thought, who wouldn't want to be God? Well, that's exactly that the very first sin was the sin of self. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:24 And the big second one was, we should love one another. Do not be like Kane. There you go. Who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. Why did he murder? him because his own deeds were evil and his brothers were righteous. So you start with the original sin, then throw that one in there and you're like, don't be like selfishness went to murder in one generation.
Starting point is 00:11:54 And then that went to the whole, all mankind having every thought of wickedness. A lot of people missed that little text. That's 1st John chapter 3, verse 11. This is a message we heard from the beginning. we should love one another you're like never fails nope don't be like came who murdered his brother and somebody's why would he do that his deeds were evil he belonged to the evil one that's right well i'll tell you another miss so the stage is set for the rest of humanity all the way down to right now that's right sandwiched in between what happened with kane and what you said in the beginning
Starting point is 00:12:31 he he lied he said you will not surely die the servant said to the woman because she said you know we must to eat of it. Right. So he just lies. Yep. Because he's the father of lies. But then he says something else. He wasn't just about doubting God.
Starting point is 00:12:45 He made this statement in verse 5, for God knows that when you eat of it, your eyes will be open and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. And so you say, well, what do you mean by that? Here's what he meant. He was saying, God knows, you know, what's going to happen, and you'll never reach your potential if you do it God's way. That's right. That's what he was implying.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Yeah. He was saying, yeah, well, God knows what's going to happen if you do it. And he's keeping you from reaching your potential. Yeah. It's always going to come down to how you view yourself or how you view it. What's interesting is this was coming from a being, Satan, that was a fallen angel who chose himself not to follow God and was fallen now and put on earth. So, I mean, what I'm saying is. the original, which was pride. Yeah, I guess so. And maybe that, that, that, uh,
Starting point is 00:13:42 illustration. I just found it interesting that he appealed to the human desire. Doing good seek mortality, but for those and who reject and follow evil and anger, that's for every human being who does evil, first for the Jew, then for the Gentile, but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, first for the Jew, then for the Gentile, for God does not show favor. Pretty powerful verse. It is. And you just touched on what we'll get into. That's Romans chapter 2, about verse 8 and following.
Starting point is 00:14:19 We get back to Acts next time. We're at a transition point with our story, because so far we've just had this, you know, the apostles and what's happened in their action. But we're kind of going to hit the next generation of these new leaders. And now we've got these converts. And you're going to start seeing that. And then Sifera, they were self-seeked. it was a moment where they were self-seeking right that was their problem yeah that was their
Starting point is 00:14:46 sin right that's right exactly yeah jay said it only claiming we're doing it for god but they were actually which in essence is lying to the holy spirit because that's what that's what he called it so when we get to this next generation of leaders you've got stephen and philip is going to come out of this group and it's interesting because you just read that verse out first for the jew then for the Gentile. Now we're starting to vector in the idea about the Gentiles. First, it started with the converted Gentiles to Judaism. You start having these issues. You know, we've got some racism, some prejudice. And as we go, we finally get that next to him. Started with the Jews. Then it goes to the Gentiles. But the Jews aren't happy about that. No. Even the Jewish Christians were having a hard
Starting point is 00:15:29 time. Because they were struggling with the same thing, like the guy, the Pope sent the guy. That's right. It's like, who are you? You're not one of us. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. And so I really believe that's part of the reason why the thing was so severe with Anayas and Safar because, you know, Peter and the apostles realized that, you know what, I mean, what seems so great is going to be problematic. Because people are problematic. And so the early deal of the church is just like it is today. Still going on. A lot of flawed people. A lot of flawed ideology. You know, all the stuff that goes along with it. So that's kind of where we're headed as we continue through acts. But, man, some still some really great examples that we're going to look at
Starting point is 00:16:09 and sort of keeping Jesus going to the next generation. So we always appreciate you guys on Unashame. Thank you for telling other people about it. The podcast still continues to grow. A lot of people are checking. A lot of the notes we get and our team gets from you, we know it's changing a lot of hearts and lives. Starting point is 00:17:05 Oh, well, the reason he was going. I couldn't help it. I had to respond. Look, you don't... Here's... What is the accusation in... On that, I was like, they shouldn't be God's book.
Starting point is 00:17:22 And even though I don't... Who would have a problem with that? I just don't think... To have those conversations... That's what I said. I'd rather you not... But actually I mean
Starting point is 00:17:44 Him doing this approach to that has always been Because Maybe right And so what happened I see stuff that's against one of See it Because I don't read it
Starting point is 00:17:56 I see one of our listeners sent me one At here and it was I guess it was Having another home Person took a shot at us Because I have two homes
Starting point is 00:18:09 when there's people's the guy sent it to him because again it down and when he sent it there were all these people do these people
Starting point is 00:18:20 you don't know what all they people defend I thought I know defend myself because they'll defend you
Starting point is 00:18:28 which is what is but it doesn't matter that is a waste of time just share Jesus confession I did this.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Hang on, hang on. Make a confession. So, I have a couple, or however you on a character that I meet in. Well, in Austin, I've met, well, the two that I was meeting outside. It was cold.
Starting point is 00:19:12 It's awesome. I don't want to go meet outside. outside. 40 degrees, you know. So I was like, well, let's just and find a nut. That's, you know, it's, here's where I messed up.
Starting point is 00:19:30 So first is that we're going to meet. And so your first. You got to meet an inside. The list of mistakes are going to get long in this process. Well, here's what. Here's what kind of made me mad. Most of the churches that I felt like I would be my belief system, even though I just said, and somebody I've said many times,
Starting point is 00:19:59 if you love Jesus, let's go. We'll spit out the bomb. But I was trying to kind of look at places where I thought that most of my surrounding beliefs would line up. Starting point is 00:20:20 Give people the option. So they're out because they're not meeting. Then the ones outside, I thought, it's cold. Just have us a place, so they're out. Well, then here's where I messed up. This was a little bit. I then started looking, because as I went down like to the second and third Google page, started thinking, well, this crew here looks a little interesting.
Starting point is 00:20:44 You know, let's see what they believe. Well, then I got into the. And here's what we believe. When I started reading some of this stuff to miss you, and look, I did not find one group, because some of these lists were long. When they put what we believe, I mean, it went on for days,
Starting point is 00:21:01 which made me think, why are they putting this on here? Why don't they just put, we believe Jesus is the son of God. I'll come to that. But they felt like they had to get way down into the week. Look, every site had these same. things of these churches. And I found stuff I just didn't agree with, which made me think,
Starting point is 00:21:25 well, I'm not going there. So after we went through all that, I told Missy, I said, We're just staying home. Well, she said, let's just stay home. I knew that's where they're going. And I said, you know what? I said, I made a mistake. And I want to confess it to you right now. She said, what? I said, I never should have read. No. I said, that's where I went wrong. I told. I said, they shouldn't have written it, and I shouldn't have read it. I told the emissary from the Pope. I said, whatever you do, just keep it simple. I said, you don't have to bring out the creeds that you all have and the various doctrines. I said, just tell them the good news about Jesus and move on. I said, you'd be way better off. That was my advice to him. You know what?
Starting point is 00:22:16 it's still sound advice. It's good advice. So after my confession, Missy said, well, where do you want to go? I said, I want to go right here. And we decided,

Starting point is 00:22:54 But I just saying, I did not agree with their theology, and I sure didn't agree that they should put it down there. Which I know that makes people uncomfortable. You're like, well, why? Because I'm like, we're all disagreeing once you get on the perimeters of things that we do in Jesus. this happened to be about Plus not only that does You remember our mentor That taught us the Bible

Starting point is 00:24:09 them no does that mean what if I'm wrong I mean I feel really passionate that I'm right about it. How many arguments have you had with your best friend over that particular? I made sure. Jesus may help. I made sure if I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient.
Starting point is 00:24:35 I don't care who you're talking to. Love is kind, no matter who you're talking to. It does not envy. It does not boast. And part of the thesis of it was is that he had died and come back to life. And so he was asking me. Which is another one of your favorite pet peece.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Hang on, Jason. Let's take one of the spirit. Well, no, I just thought it was interesting. Remember you said that you'd only die? because when people tell you they died, you know, five times or whatever. Well, right. Well, I immediately, when he was telling me in conversation, I went to the Hebrews 9. I said, well, I think the Bible is pretty clear in Hebrews 9, just as man is destined to die once.
Starting point is 00:27:06 And then face judgment. Now, there is a second death per revelation. You know, that death may be an eternal one. But so I said, well, you know it's a mischaracterization. Starting point is 00:28:30 difference it always comes down to whether you're a self-seeker or you're wanting to point people to jesus love is not self-seeking that's right first corin 13 that verse six that's why the first call look, it's not about agreeing in Jesus. It's about agreeing with them. And whatever narrative is surrounding their religious faith. If you don't believe the way we do, you're out. That's what they say. The gospel and the response to it cuts through a lot of false teaching.
Starting point is 00:29:02 Right, Al? That's right. Who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. Why did he murder him?
Starting point is 00:29:58 Because his own deeds were evil and his brothers were righteous. So you start with the original saying, then throw that one in there and you're like, don't be like king. Selfishness went to murder in one generation. Yep. And then that went to the whole. All mankind, having every thought of wickedness. A lot of people miss that little text. That's First John chapter 3, verse 11.
Starting point is 00:30:24 This is a message we've heard from the beginning. Oh, I've used this in. He comes in as a child. He grows up among us. He could fly. He can fly. You can't kill him. This spawned every look.
Starting point is 00:30:35 You got Superman, Batman, Spider-Man. They all have special powers. And then they'll look at me as a Christian. They'll say, oh, that's so weak. Yeah. I'm like, we, you got all your ideas, all of them, from whom I'm following. The controlling of the atoms and the molecules, he was a superhuman. And now you have hundreds of them that I'm supposed to go pay eight bucks.
Starting point is 00:31:05 I can read this for free. Yeah, now you've got a marvels just gone over. But most of them are not from this realm. See, it's always that same thing. They always have to manipulate atoms and molecules to accomplish what they're accomplishing is my point. It's true. Which is what happened when he healed this fellow. There's more leaps from skyscrapers than they just jumping bailing out.
Starting point is 00:31:28 You can't kill them. No, you can't kill them. Yeah, you got to have, they all have one special thing that can kill them. Well, guess what is another reason why I put my faith in trust. He don't have that thing. The women have taken over the power, or whatever. Now it's flying women.
Starting point is 00:31:48 They're super women. We got Wonder Woman. We got who is the Captain Marvel? The one with the storms. Yeah. Oh, that's an X-Men. It should be X-Women. Some kind of beams are coming out of them now.
Starting point is 00:32:02 They whipping everybody with the beams. Laser beams. Well, I think we should go back to Star Wars. I mean, at least you had to have an actual sword that would, even if it was a saber, lightsaber. Yeah. Now you just have it. You're just shooting out of your body. Well, the X-Men, you're just born with it.
Starting point is 00:32:21 That's right. Well, you're a mutant. You have... Now, that's interesting. Let's take another break. We talked about this before. On the X-Men side, they're saying, they're doing it as an alter thing to God because you were created with all these genetic mutations.
Starting point is 00:32:40 And over time, then you could do all these... They can... They're getting the concept from the book. Well, they are, but what I'm saying is... They want to do more. It's much more based in humanism as opposed to, I think, Superman. I think Superman was an analogy of, I would love to know who created it. I guess it's Marvel Comics.
Starting point is 00:32:54 I have to research that. I'm sure somebody in the audience. Here's what I'm saying. Why do you have a need for that? Because you need something bigger than yourself? Because we're lost like a sandhill crane looking around saying. With the background to crane. He ain't getting off that crane.
Starting point is 00:33:13 Now, it's a good analogy because you don't want. to be going down that road in life. That's right. Because how many people have you bumped into them say, oh, you're lost and you're going to hell. You're not going to make it.
Starting point is 00:33:29 You have no hope. Well, most people say, oh, no, I'm good. So they've worked it out where I'm good. So that's why I brought up Sand Hill Crane. He thought he was good. We had a conversation. Physical death.
Starting point is 00:33:43 We're not even a bird. Physical death proves them wrong. And everybody acts like they're not afraid of dying. Oh, don't give me that Jesus deal, you know, resurrection. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're like, man, this is big. This is big stuff. And you get to wonder because like a pandemic could come by
Starting point is 00:34:00 and you find out they're scared to death. Yeah. They are scared literally to death. Yeah. Scared, afraid. Oh, we've got to do this. We've got to do that. They scrambling, hiding, you know, putting bandage it over around their faith,
Starting point is 00:34:14 covering up, you know. They say, we got to get away from them. They're afraid. And so this old thing about, well, I don't fear death and all that. I'm not worried about all the resurrection. We're like, well, they'll give you a lot of hope, even in the face of pandemics, if you know there's a resurrection. And not, look, you know, not as that, but the ones who are the most fearful,
Starting point is 00:34:32 then want to push that fear on you. Yeah. What are you doing without a mask going, somebody get this guy's, you know. I'm like, okay, I got one here. Let's say, yeah. Yeah, that's, that meets the standard right there. Well, my point is, is when he made this statement in verse 26, when God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you. Well, lo and behold, in chapter four, the priest and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees.
Starting point is 00:35:02 Well, guess what the Sadducees don't believe in? Resurrection. He said, oh, so your God raised him up. So watch what happens. They came up to Peter and John in chapter. four while they were still speaking and they were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching people and proclaiming in jesus the resurrection of the dead so they were disturbed and then what comes next they seized them seized this is 2.0 where does it go next they did with jesus
Starting point is 00:35:37 where do they go next they put them in jail until the next day shut it down, which is my point about being lost and not knowing it. They're squeezed in this little thing, this censorship thing. They say what we're discussing, the removal of sin. God's so loving us, he removed our sins in his son, so our sins could be forgiven, and we could be raised from the day. And they're like, that's hate speech. That's some kind of hate speech.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Some guys waving a Bible around down there. They don't like people about waving a Bible around. You're like, what about the resurrection of the day? So they just, these empires come, and they begin to their view of God. They don't want to hear it. They've been doing that ever since the Israelites did it. That's right. The Israelites were able to get on the right path, and God was right there.
Starting point is 00:36:29 They'd turn back. They'd turn back. Never did get it together. And Jesus was right. The temple did come down. Which is one of the reasons why we keep telling our audience, look, stay focused on this. Because if we get censored for this, we get censored for this. truth. But if we get off into the political ideology is too deep, it's easy for them to cancel
Starting point is 00:36:49 you. That's much easier. It's much harder if you're just posting truth. We know this is absolute truth. Well, they locked them up and they started, you know, a prison ministry, which what's interesting is Saturday, I have to tell you all this. So we killed the ducks. This is a couple days ago, because I'm not sure when this will air. And so I was just fixed taking nap, and I get a text from Tebow. He's like, I'll be at your house in 10. minutes. So my first thought was somebody has broken into my phone somehow because it just, that just seemed too weird. And instead of saying, are you really him and someone, you know, give this back to your dad or what? You know, I just said, okay. I was like, no, now. The reason
Starting point is 00:37:40 I thought of this is what I saw this, they put him in jail because he, he, he, he, he, he, he, And he came. Him and his new wife. I met her. She's awesome. And Demi, I said, Timmy and Demi. He's like, yep. And so you're like, you know, I don't have many yuppie friends, but he's one of them.
Starting point is 00:37:58 And we started talking about when he had been with Jeff, our brother, your other son. Because he said, I'm going to be down in Austin. He said, yep, I'm speaking at a prison. Meet me here. Kind of like he did with me. I'll be at your house in 10 minutes. I don't know what he's fixed day. And so Jeff tells the story.
Starting point is 00:38:18 He's like, so we go into this prison. So Jeff did it. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So if you say we're going to speak somewhere, the one thing to scare the daylights out of Jeff is to say that. He said, Tim said, I'm going to speak down there. Just come with me.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Yeah. And so. I know. So Tim gets up, you know, shares Jesus. He's strong and powerfully. And so as soon as he's finished. he said, yep, get him. That's just the way he said it.
Starting point is 00:38:48 Jeff said, I was looking around like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. So we were talking about it while we were, when he came over. He was telling me that story. Yeah, and he was saying, you know, at first he was a little nervous. And he's like, but the more the spirit got in control, the louder he got, and he just shared his, you know. Well, a good chap. Got me. He impressed Evo.
Starting point is 00:39:12 Hang on, let's take a quick break. But I told you all that to say, I have nothing in common outside of Jesus with Tebow. And he was here at a camp, and he never even told me why, but I'm positive, that it either had something to do with helping kids or telling people about Jesus or... He's a phenomenal person. Or both. And we were, he actually showed me a book that he had written, and I thought, oh this because he had written another book that I'd kind of endorsed it's awesome but this was like a
Starting point is 00:39:49 kid's book and I thought man the humility of that and I opened about I don't know four or five pages into it I just read one quote and it was basically what we're saying it said you were made in the image of God a wonderful masterpiece and it was lines like that and I thought great idea he's famous, he's used his platform to instill what we take for granted that here is, there is
Starting point is 00:40:20 a God and you're made like, you know, a masterpiece, you don't have to go to some movie and try to figure out how to be a mutant to have any kind of special powers. And he loves all of us so much. That's right. But he wrote a note on the book that he gave me.
Starting point is 00:40:36 He's like, keep preaching Jesus no matter what. and that kind of made me think of the no matter what because here all these guys were doing and we we know it's factually the evidence here is incredible they're sharing about living again being raised from the dead and they were literally I mean they weren't threatening anybody no they were like change your life do better you can do better and they're literally put in jail for this? And you said, what could happen to us? I believe the same thing. Well, and to Tebow, to the story about him, you know, when he was in the NFL, his celebration was dropped to his knee and thank the almighty. And he took a lot of heat about it. And he put little verses under his eyes. Guess what?
Starting point is 00:41:28 Can't do that anymore. Can't do that. No Bible verses. But you can do a, you can do a social justice message all you want to. You know, BLM, whatever. But no Bible verses. So I thought it was interesting that he basically in his college career and in his pro career was, you know, in our culture, it's hard to call it persecution when you think about what's going on around the world. But he was persecuted for that, which is so funny because you watch a guy in the NFL
Starting point is 00:41:55 score a touchdown. And man, he can do some juke and jiving and jiving and jumping around and a whole group of them. And that's all like, man, that's great. But you drop to that knee for the almighty. it's like it was a bad thing remember i mean when all that was happening well i just wanted to make the point here that where he you know he is persecuted we've been persecuted for simply loving people and at the level you are in our culture and we have to i have to qualify that because people that are really being persecuted
Starting point is 00:42:22 around the world so what somebody didn't like it you know that's right but what i was going to say is here's it we he comes in i meet his wife and we're talking about she's ugly right we're talking about really ugly woman she's a beautiful inside and out and uh you know she's from south africa and i didn't know that she's oh yeah she's very she has a little accent and and so i mean and and and i see what you know how you meet but we met a lot of famous people yep and i would say most of the time your expectations were too high and you're disappointed i'm just being honest it's true and it was the exact opposite with Tebow and his wife,
Starting point is 00:43:06 they were way better than I anticipated. I was like, now this, they're inspirational and she's awesome. But I said, look, I said, I heard something I want to ask you about. I mean, we're like two minutes into the introduction. I said, I heard Africa has the world's largest bullfrogs. She said, that's true.
Starting point is 00:43:29 I said, and you know this? she said well that's why your stock was so high she said when i was a kid and and and teenager she said we'd come into the house sometimes and they would get in our house and so we'd have to get them out she's huge giants i said so so did you eat one she said no never ate one but you're right there there i've seen them i've gotten out of the house she missed a lot of good meal well that's what i said but she said look the next time i go back you're welcome to go with us and catch your frogs. You know, I've been there, Jay.
Starting point is 00:44:06 I was there for two weeks. I was in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg. But I never heard that about the frogs. They're there. It's a beautiful, you just can't believe how beautiful South Africa is. I mean, it's amazing. You got mountains, you got swamps, you've got beaches. Back to our point right before this on how these people in the Book of Acts,
Starting point is 00:44:31 these guys and gals, how they went forward with a message. And now they'll come along and say, well, you know, like you said, other words, we talk about, you know, justice, justice in the name of justice, you can't have Bible verses under your eyes under playing football. You can't put a couple of Bible texts right up on your eyes here. And they say, well, you know, we want to be just with everybody. That's not. So watch.
Starting point is 00:45:01 We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, the Thessalonians. Second Thessalonians one. Because your faith is growing more and more. The love every one of you has for each other is increasing. Therefore, among God's churches, we boast about your perseverance, watch, and faith and all the persecutions and trials you are enduring. Now, watch this. All this is evidence.
Starting point is 00:45:28 if you're being mistreated when you're pointing people to Jesus. All this is evident that God's judgment is right, and as a result, you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, which began in the book of Acts, for which you're suffering. Watch, God is just. You're working for the one and proclaiming the one who is the epitome of being just. toward his fellow man. No favoritism. He'll pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are trouble and to us as well. You say, when's it payback time for all these persecutions that the sons and
Starting point is 00:46:10 daughters of God have gone through since Jesus showed up? This will happen when the Lord you pray and the prophets before them. This will happen payback time justice when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven and blazing fire with his powerful angels. In the book of Acts, he just left. He's Here is his return. Blazing fire, powerful, he will punish those who do not know God and the ones that were perpetrating all the persecutions and the sufferings on the people of God. He will punish those who don't know God and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. We're back in the book of Acts again.
Starting point is 00:46:53 They'll be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord, the majesty of his power on the day he comes back to be marveled at among all those who who have believed. Marvel. And that includes you. This is a different kind of marvel. Is that cool or what? That's Captain Marvel.
Starting point is 00:47:11 Yeah. Now that's going back to the book of Acts and looking at the roots of it saying. Well, I want to read this last, I know we only have a minute. I want to read this last verse to go with what you said because look, they took them, they seized them. They were disturbed. They put them in jail. Yep.
Starting point is 00:47:25 And then it says, but in verse four, I love this of Acts 4. But, even though this just happened, they took them to jail, but many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about 5,000. Yesterday, yesterday, 2021 years since Jesus came down in flesh, came out of the Virgin Mary, you say, 2,000 years later yesterday, we proclaimed the message that Peter proclaimed in the book of Acts written behind me. We pointed, will some guy in Florida come up there?
Starting point is 00:48:03 Without the trip to jail? A couple of dudes over there. Guess what? When they said, well, what do we do? What do we do? I said, repent, be baptized. Every one of you in the name of Jesus. Three of them walked up there.
Starting point is 00:48:15 Old sister, my buddy, my brother, he went up there. They confessed Jesus' Lord in a pool of water. More added to the kingdom. More added to the kingdom. You say, you wonder where they're going to end up. I said, I don't know. My job is not to worry about where everybody ends up. Nope.
Starting point is 00:48:28 I'm just preaching. Well, as they end up in heaven, I'm fake. Well, that's why. If they outlaw that, Al. It's right. Well, you can outlaw it all you want to. The reason we call this, I call this section, we're doing the unstoppable adventure. Is it still unstoppable?
Starting point is 00:48:43 That is correct. And it's still going on. So take that Unashamed Nation and keep going. I'm not shutting up better to you. Nope.
