I am unashamed.
What about you?
Today was...
It didn't work in there.
Well, today was the day.
Which you knew at some point with this weather and all this stuff that it, you know what I'm saying?
You would just feel like they have to show up.
They showed up today.
And look, I...
Sevenths of the old days.
We're showing signs of age because we couldn't get them to finish.
But look, I did the checklist because I thought...
thought today may be the day. I brushed the blind, or we did, but I mean, I took lead on that,
and I brushed it with moss, which will stay with your blind forever. I mean, I was dangling
from trees this morning and poor daylight. It looked like a squirrel. I'd get, I'd get them to back
up the wheeler. I'm impressed that you can still climb trees. Oh, I climbed them. I know.
You're better than me. I was excited. And that, that, I didn't stick the dismount.
but you know i hit the ground then rolled a couple times got out hey so the old knee you know
buckle but uh so that was funny's dad mike stone yesterday he killed a deer
i went by and he's sitting in his chair in his pajamas Mike you're just getting up so that's
three o'clock it's happened no I just got out of the bathtub he said I killed 10 point I said well
that's good and he said yeah but I couldn't get my side by side and up next to it so I had to drag it
ways my feet got tangled up in vines and he said i went you know head over heels i said how'd that work he
said i can't move well so today we saw the ducks but we couldn't get them to finish we had the blind
was brushed the decoys looked perfect uh what other adjustment did we make i guess that was we were
in the right spot you're in the lake yeah we were in the right spot we had one bunch of of pentails
that started off about 50.
Which that got your blood pump
because I know how you are about pin-in-in.
I was just at the shakes, you know.
Yeah.
So then we got into after they didn't come in,
I mean, we eventually got a single model Drake,
but then it got into, is this a Jonah?
Well, you know, it's weird how everybody gets panicky.
Then all of a sudden somebody had the idea,
well, maybe just somebody's not living right here.
Let's just start chunking people out of the duck line
Oh, boy.
To see if we can get them to finish, which, you know what's crazy is?
I was actually thinking, maybe that's it.
A call to repentance.
Yeah, we had a call to repentance.
But everybody in the blind today seemed to say, you know what?
Things are pretty good.
These are good with the Lord.
I'm not running away from any of the commands.
So then I just, I deemed a statement.
It just popped into my head.
The theme was.
without pain, you can't appreciate the gain.
Have you ever heard that before?
I haven't heard that.
It just popped into my head.
You know, I've heard it.
No, no pain, no gain.
Yeah.
No pain you can't appreciate the game.
Is that?
The gain.
The gain.
The game.
The game.
So, because it was painful.
Yeah, no pain.
To have all those ducks.
So we've been scared.
I think the biggest problem is,
Because look, this is not from the Internet,
but if you believe everything that's put in the Internet,
we think that there was a dry year in Canada.
So they say, I wasn't in Canada, so I don't know.
I talked to four Canadians last night who were in my living room.
And I said, what province are you from?
Because it's important.
They said, Manitoba.
I said, the ducks that we killed that were banded, most of them, if they came from Canada,
they came from where you live, Manitoba.
I've seen it many a time.
I said, was there a drought of any consequence in the prairie country in Manitoba this year?
And they said a severe drought.
Okay, we have validations.
They said all the potholes around their area were dry.
So what that means is the only ducks we have, because we saw them today, they're smarter.
Much smarter.
They're not young, juvenile.
These are mature ducks who've seen every possible scenario for them to get shot.
That's right.
And that's why I think we couldn't get them to finish.
So another factor, I just.
Far harder to work with.
Another factor, you could, you know, a lot of people from the U.S. go up early and hunt ducks in Canada.
They ask that, though.
Right, because of COVID.
So I'm saying there's another reason that you didn't have all these Americans flooding up there running the ducks out of there.
I told them.
There's a lot of factors here.
I said for years when we first saw the mallards, we would stop everything and seeing the Canadian.
You know, what is it?
National anthem.
Phil DeVos.
Phil DeVos.
Yeah.
I said, but this year we're slow.
We're slow and coming up with it because something is not right.
The Canadians have let us down.
Phil, in a moment of weakness, had a conversation with Alexa, and he devolved to that information.
And I think it would be good for our listeners to hear that conversation.
Well, let me set it up before you tell it.
So the reason that's, because you don't even know this, Jay.
So Lisa decides, you know, we had the alarm plot conversation.
So Lisa's solution was to get dad an answer.
Echo, which is what they're called, that connects you to Alexa.
And they can tell us who Alex is again, because I'm not real sure.
She's the voice of Amazon, I guess, because Amazon is who makes this product.
Is that right, Josh, would that be a fair way to put?
Okay, yeah, Josh came up.
So, Alex.
A lot of people are going to be like me.
They don't understand.
So there's a device that's in your house, and you connect it to your internet.
How did it get in your house?
You buy it.
Oh, you have to buy this?
Oh, it costs like $100.
So Lisa bought this for Dad.
So when I'm looking over at Dad's chair,
the Christmas were all opening presents,
and Dad's opened it up and he's looking at it.
And he's, you know, perplexed.
Then he looks in the instructions and he looks again.
So what does it look like?
It's just a little round thing about this.
Because I had one in my house, but I didn't know we bought it.
You bought it.
Well, rest of the lights will come on around it.
Okay.
When you say this woman's name.
Election.
But I looked at it and I threw it behind the chair.
Well, that's, he looks kind of perplexed.
You know what?
I was saying, go to the trash.
So look, he chucks it over on the thing and I saw him do it.
I looked over at least.
And of course, everybody's engaged in open and present and said, you better go.
Dad just put echo in the no-go zone.
So she goes over and explains it to him.
You know, all you got to say is Alexa set my alarm for, you know, 4.30 a.m.
And she'll say your alarm is set.
And then when it goes out.
That's what all about, it was ever, it was just about.
Me just turning my head sitting on the edge of the bed and said, Alexa.
Well, how does she know what your alarm clock is?
Well, that's what I'm trying to figure out.
So now tell what happened.
I know that.
Well, they said, okay, this thing's working.
No more Chinese clocks, you know.
They're whining them all that, all that stuff.
They said, just tell her, you know, to set your alarm.
And she will.
I said, get out of here.
They said, that's right.
And I thought, well.
So the second time that I used it, I leaned over.
I said, write down what the exact words I need to say.
I thought it was something you had to be.
Mom said you got to write it down and give him some glasses.
No, just tell her, set my Alexa, and she'll come on.
You know, the light will come on, meaning I'm listening.
So I said, Alexa, I looked over on the paper.
I said, set my alarm for 4.30 a.m. in the morning.
well she said set your alarm for 4.30 a.m. in the morning.
She repeated what she said.
Yeah, she repeated what I said.
And I saw the next morning, you know, I hurt the thing.
Your alarm or this thing?
This thing here.
The thing is.
It has its own.
It went bha-b-r-b-b-be-b-be.
And then they fill me in.
They said, now look, if you want to wake up with like, you know, beat it, the little skinny guy.
Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson.
if you want that to be the music to wake you up, you know, beat it, anter,
you know, he had one of rock and roll and playing the drum for him, I thought,
well, you know, that may be a way to start today.
Then I thought about Fleetwood and Mac.
I said, let's see here.
So I got all these choices.
But anyway, the second day, the second day I said, you know, I don't know about this.
I'm sitting on the edge of the bed.
If I mentioned her name and she's sitting in there listening,
she's listening to everything I'm saying.
It don't have to be 4.30 in the morning.
If I opened my mouth, she's sitting there listening.
I said, you know, I need to check this chick out.
So I said, I said, Dan, get over here.
I said, I don't want to ask her.
I said, because I don't want my name.
You don't want to be alone with it.
Well, what I did was,
it's not a real woman.
The second day set my alarm when I said that.
You needed a witness.
She said, this is a feature that it's good for you
and everybody involved
and many people love it,
would you please tell Sye?
And I'm like,
she said that?
Yeah, she said, please tell Sye.
Wait a minute here.
That's right.
So I'm thinking,
you sure that's what she said?
I said, that chick has done her homework.
She knows that Sye is my brother
and she wants me to tell him,
you can just tell some woman
and she'll wake up every morning via the satellite.
So I thought, man, that's when I began to have,
so I said,
Dad, get in here a minute.
I said, I'm not going to speak, but I said, I want you to call her name.
And that lighter come on.
He said, oh, I know all about this.
So he gets over by me, and I said, ask her one question, Alexa.
I said, when she comes on, don't talk about the watch, a clock.
Ask her, do you hunt ducks?
So Dan says, Alexa, she comes on.
He says, do you hunt ducks?
And there was a pause.
I thought, hmm.
And she said, here's her answer.
And it finished me up with the lecture.
Her answer was, I don't know.
I'm like, oh, you know whether you're hunting or not.
Come on out with.
She said I don't know.
I'm sitting there chewing around, buddy.
You know, you don't know.
No, wait a minute, like, you know, according to the web, you know,
she said, according to the web.
She said, I don't know.
I'm not sure.
She said, I'm not sure.
That's what it was.
I'm not sure.
And I say, you're not sure.
What are you talking about?
You get me up at 4.30 in the morning.
I'm going, duck on, do you duck hunt?
And you know, sigh?
And there was a pause.
Get a hold of sigh.
I'm not sure.
I tell you what, I tore that thing out of the socket,
and I said, I'm done with her.
That chick's up for no good.
That's the craziest thing I've ever heard.
I mean, I thought she would just not respond.
Why would she say, I'm not sure?
I'm not sure was her answer.
What does that even mean?
I don't know.
You'd have to ask her about it.
Yeah, let's arrange that.
Well, I'm telling us, that's more disturbing than I thought.
I'm going to get that thing out of my house.
Well, you have one.
Oh, you're being tracked like a dog on a blood trail.
China.
The Chinese boys are behind everything.
Be careful out there.
Of course, everything comes from China.
Everybody need to be careful.
I'm telling you, you're being tracked.
Oh, you've just opened.
I'll get 50 emails now next week after this episode about it.
Well, I'm done with my little, but think about it.
It's my only time in my 75 years on the earth.
I had some kind of little confidence in the Internet.
And I got it for Christmas presents, didn't know what it was.
And they said, here's how it works.
But now I just 7 o'clock this morning.
I mean, yesterday last night, I said it for 40.
Back to the old ways.
to the old way.
Way better.
So I heard this yesterday.
I'm not fooling with some chick before daylight trying to tell her what time I want to get about.
I said, what am I talking about?
So if she would have said, no, I don't hunt duck.
I mean, what was the deal?
What were you hoping for?
I was trying to find out what her makeup was, what kind of woman she was.
Yeah.
So I just figured.
She's confused.
She said, I'm not sure it brought distrust in your mind.
And there was a pause, a little pause.
And I thought, I'm looking at this divide.
And I'm not sure.
And I'm like,
I'm not sure.
Oh, man, that's funny.
So I called Lisa.
I heard the story yesterday.
So I called Lisa.
I said, well, I told you the echo would not last a month.
It's actually lasted less than two weeks.
It's gone now.
It's over.
The fact that your wife would get that for him is a bold man.
Well, yeah, that's what I said.
I thought you've wasted that.
So I told her, I said, I gave the echo because dad doesn't plug that.
I said, but Blondie, the one who takes care of mom.
I said, she wants it.
So I gave it to her.
I said, she wanted to buy it.
And I said, no, just take it because it was just going to wind up behind Dad's chair.
Well, we had one for a while because I remember them in there talking to it.
Well, it plays music.
Why do you not have one now?
What was the reason?
Be honest.
I don't know.
I think we still have it.
She just, she's dormant.
I mean, I think you have to say, Alexa.
Supposedly, yeah, you have to activate it.
But other people have said that they're listening in because they'll make suggestions about,
things you've talked about.
Yeah.
So,
well, how did she know that Phil had a brother?
I'm not, I mean, dad is deaf as a post.
I'm not so sure.
Oh, you don't think.
No, that's what she said.
I mean, Phil seems pretty confident.
Tell Sai about this feature that we had.
I mean, I'm saying how would Alexa possibly know that?
Unless you talked about Sai in your sleep or something.
No.
Well, who knows?
Well, but maybe you were fighting,
sigh in one of your battles.
She might have just looked at his profile and saw that he had a brother.
mother name, Si.
On the internet.
It struck me that she had researched who I was.
Wait, I'll tell you this.
You probably don't know this, Dad, but there's a lot of you on the internet.
Well, that's what I mean.
You're out there.
That's what I've heard.
People look up.
Let's take a break.
How I got there, I don't know.
You're everywhere, Dad.
Millions of millions and millions of views of things you've done.
And then Jay said yesterday, I didn't even know that apparently every argument of having the
that's what they told me but i i i wouldn't know i mean i know they were listening to
them yesterday and laughing and i actually chuckled a few times it was it was funny so i'm sure
unashamed nation you're going to send me stuff so send me some of your um stories from
alexa because i know we'll have some i'm not knocking it it may be a great thing but i'm just saying
i've never had any bad it's 75 they always appeal to me but right this
new stuff like this right here.
I'm just,
I use,
I use Alex,
I don't care for it.
We have one in the kitchen.
I use it to set the timer when I'm cooking.
Lexa set the timer for 20 minutes,
20 minutes.
She goes off,
you know.
And what does she go off?
Like,
it's like an alarm.
Yeah,
whatever you set for it.
She just starts a little.
That seems like it'd be handy.
I mean,
I listen to music on it.
I said Alexa play,
like during Christmas season,
I was like,
play 98.3,
which is our local station.
And it'll pick it up on the web.
I was listening to the higher station in Alabama.
So, I mean, it has some positive qualities.
But there may be spying because you're right.
I mean, the Chinese.
Can she predict the weather?
You said, what's the weather?
Oh, yeah. If you say what's the weather, she'll tell you.
What's the forecast for tomorrow?
She'll tell you.
If she brought up your brother's name, tell Si about the features of.
That's a little creepy.
I can't.
I can't defend that.
Have you ever had her say, I'm not sure?
No.
I did the other day.
I'm not sure.
The other day I said,
I said, Alexa, and the thing lit up,
and I said, and I asked her to do something,
and she said, I'm having trouble speaking right now,
which I'd never heard that.
But she spoke when she said that.
I'm having trouble speaking right now.
Well, she should have said.
Is this a real person?
No.
Alexa?
It's a computer-generated voice.
That's all computer.
So there's no Alexa out there.
No.
Well, I mean, there are.
people name Alexa. That's what's scary because, you know, it's not a real person.
That's the code word to get to get on the thing. Well, she doesn't exist. It's like Siri is on your
phone. I said, I don't like this. What the feel of this. Yeah. I don't like it at all.
Siri is on your phone. I mean, she's playing like she's the fountain of information from a
from all it is that is a voice activated connection to the worldwide web. Yeah. That's what she is.
Well, it's so it's a communication.
Yeah.
She got around all the like Bible texts.
We tried that too.
But she got around all of that.
Oh, wait a minute.
We didn't hear the whole story.
She would say according to the web.
According to the web.
So you, well, give us some.
Well, quite a few.
We were just asking, you know, why do we count time by Jesus Christ?
And she went on according to the web.
And then she went through this thing about he wasn't real.
but, you know, instead of A-D, it should be A-D, it's what, C, you know, common C-E.
C-E.
So she went down that road, and I said, no, that's just a bunch of malarkey there.
You know.
So she's, we're counting time by Jesus, whether we like him or not love him or hate him.
That's why I unplugged her, she's an atheist.
According to the web, and I was thinking, I looked down to my Bible, I thought, not according
to the Bible.
He's the son of God.
We've been going through it in Matthew.
We just had an eyewitness account of it, and we covered it.
And I looked at everything he said, and his death, barrel, his resurrection.
And I was going to just mention the reason I think this needs to be,
the audience need to be reminded of this, when Jesus was saying,
I must go to, I must be killed, and they're going to be buried.
And in three days, I must rise from the dead.
He's saying, like, there's no getting out of this.
I mean, there's no way to do it.
I mean, it's going to be done.
Well, this had been worked out in advance.
Praise be to the God and Father.
This is Ephesians 1-3 of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He's blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
He chose us in Him before the creation of the world, Jays.
So before the world was even made, the cosmos.
Correct.
There was a plan to save the beings that were going to be on planet Earth, beginning with Adam and E.
There was going to be a time, a time.
And I mean, with no deviation, there was going to be a time.
Just think about how powerful that is.
Because he's outside of time and space.
That's great.
But just in thinking of creating time.
he's able to see the timeline.
Yeah.
He chose us.
That's a mind bender.
And him, Jesus, before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
In love, he predestined us to be adopted as his sons to Jesus Christ and according to our daughters with his pleasure and will.
To the praise of God's glory, God's grace, which he has freely given us in the one he loves, Jesus.
in him, Jesus.
We have redemption through his blood.
He said that over and over and over in the book of Matthew.
We just went out, I must go to Jerusalem.
I must suffer many things at the hands of the cheap priest, teachers of the law.
We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
in accordance with the riches of God's grace,
that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
He made known to us, that's the Apostle Paul and the apostles,
the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ again
to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment.
So in God's eyes, there was a time coming from the time in the beginning God created the heavens
in the earth.
There was a time already decided upon how God would save the world from the being.
that came forth from the world, roughly by my counts 5,300 years later, after the prediction
in Genesis, when man falls, sin enters the world, the culmination of all that would
happen about 5,300 years later.
And to use Jase's phrase, Jesus is coming.
He's coming.
And he was coming, fixed to come on the scene.
Matthew records how he got there, the virgin birth, and he grew into manhood,
and how he died on the cross, he said, look, I'm going to be buried.
All this worked out in advance.
It was going to happen.
There was no thwarting it, no getting around it.
So that's the Ephesians text.
I'll just give you two or three for the ones of you can look it up.
While you're turning, I like the last part of that verse, too, when it said all the things have reached their
to be put into effect when the times will have reached her fulfillment.
Yep.
To bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.
You got it.
I mean, you just think about what Jesus.
So there was no.
You asked her what, well, who do we count time by?
That was a really good question.
That is correct.
Because we're bringing heaven and earth under one head.
Right.
through what and that's why I was so much talk from John the Baptist and all of them.
It's near.
It finally, it's near.
Nothing like that in the back and all the rest of it.
All the rest of the table.
They didn't finally say the time is near.
It's at hand.
This is going to be the big day that God had worked out in advance.
It fixed to go down right here.
No thwarting it.
That's that.
What other being could represent heaven and earth?
There you go.
He's the only one that could.
So it all makes sense.
when you look at it, you say he was talking like, this had to be done.
It had to be, but this is all worked out in advance.
Hang on, hang on for you read that.
Let's take the break.
All right.
So you get to Galatians.
When the time had fully come.
Where you at?
Galatians was what?
Four or four.
All right.
When the time had fully come, God sent his son.
We read about it in Matthew.
Born of a woman, we read every detail about it.
Yep.
Born under law, we read all about that in Matthew.
You know, the law, you know, and where you went wrong with it, you think he can be saved by?
To redeem those under the law, who, finally, and look at the kicking and screaming, they went down and said, we need to get rid of him.
We don't want this to happen.
They didn't even slow it down.
Yep.
It just marched on because it had to be.
Daddy might receive the full rights of sons because your sons, God sent his spirit of his son into your heart when you obey the gospel, who calls out Abba Father.
So you're no longer a slave but a son.
Since you're a son, God made you an heir.
You'll inherit eternal life.
So that's Galatians 4.
Another good one is just two more.
And then I'll be done.
A little quick, quick study.
Take your time.
With Matthew, the book of Matthew in mind, Titus 1.
Paul, a servant of God and an apostle to Jesus Christ for the faith of God's elect
and the knowledge of the truth that leads to Godliness.
a faith and knowledge, listen to this, resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie,
promised before the beginning of time.
And at his appointed season, Roman Empire would be there.
I mean, when he said not one stone will be left on top of another, this is all coming down.
Jesus should think to die for the sins of the world.
he said he entrusted me preaching just below there you must hold on to the trustworthy message
as it had been taught what Jesus said that's Titus and finally just to kind of seal the deal
in the past all the old testament god spoke to our forefathers through the prophets and many times
and in various ways all this time is passing out but in these last days fullness of time
Galatians, before the cosmos was even made, Ephesian.
In these last days, he has spoken to us by his son.
He appointed heir of all things and through whom he made the universe.
So we go back to creation.
So it works its way through.
I just wanted people, after the study in Matthew, seemingly, you know, like,
could he have gotten out of it?
And why did he say this and say that when he's on the crux?
cross this all for us the human race he loves us so much he said i'm i'm i'm going to go all in and
this is going to be a rough go for me god my son will be a human like you and but but but by his death
he'll save you free you from you've been a slave to the fear of death your entire life i'm fixing
the end all that for you you'll no longer be afraid of death and jesus is going to do it for you
what a what a what a bunch of text so to your point
When we started the book of Matthew, I told you guys that the word fulfillment or fulfilled
was used more in Matthew than any other book in the Bible and any of the other Gossus.
That's why I brought this up.
Exactly.
Because Jesus continually said, this is why I came.
Fulfillment of prophecy, fulfillment of scripture, fulfillment of the law,
all those things.
It's got to happen.
It had to happen.
This has all been worked out.
And then also, I think we talked about at some point in our Matthew study when you read from Daniel 2, which was 600 years before Matthew, when the vision was given that the time for the coming of the kingdom would happen during the Roman rule.
So again, all of it had to be done when it was done.
That's right.
Which, and I've always thought, you know, because he could have come at any time.
That's a powerful thing for people to understand.
How in the world could you have put all this together over that?
period of time and we end up with our calendars even in China you say the world's
calendar anyway they want to slice it it's predicated on Jesus when he showed up
right 2000 we just turned 2,020 years you say 2,020 years ago here's what
happened yeah and it all unfolds for everybody to see and it's not rocket
science and people should turn to Jesus and and save themselves from the coming
wrath. Right. Well, I think one of the big problems that with a lot of people, since we are human
beings and we're still in time, it's hard for us to sometimes wrap our minds around his view
outside of time. And so that's where people run a foul. And the Bible's confusing to them because
you're trying to see it from an eternal perspective. And that's hard to, you can only do that by faith.
And this happened in the first century out. And the bottom line is, if you've noticed,
there's not been another word coming out of God for 2,000 years since the first century.
You said...
It's a record it.
That's the heck of right.
It's a done deal.
Right.
And there's no...
The only thing we're waiting on is the return.
Right.
And it's coming.
Right.
Well, I think that's why Matthew 28, I think not now God...
Yeah, what was the marching orders go over that day?
I think he speaks the same message.
He just does it through us.
But I like the way he starts it.
He says when he gives them the final charge, he says all authority in heaven and on earth.
And Jason, there's your point.
All things come together, heaven and earth, have been given to me.
I just beat death.
That's right.
So he starts.
He tells them, this is how you go with my authority.
Yep.
You know, which you think about that, that was the big issue.
Remember how many times he got asked by whose authority do you do this?
by whose authority are you saying this, by whose authority?
And he kept talking about the father, the father, father.
That's why somebody said one time, if you have more than one leader, you have no leader.
Well, somebody has to be the ultimate authority.
That's it.
So then you get into what makes people or what are the qualifications to lead humans.
I mean, a lot of people are not even looking for this, but I would say if you look around
in human behavior, you'd say, need a leader.
Yep.
Because they'll follow anything.
I mean, that's it.
So here's Jesus.
And I really think that's this statement when he said all authority on heaven and earth has been given to me.
Now, that's a statement.
I'm telling you.
That is, it went from, oh, you're just a few people from Israel to a global declaration to all humanity.
It sounds like a king is talking.
I'm representing not only earth, but heaven as well.
And we've, I mean, we just read why he could say that because he beat death.
He beat sin and he beat death.
So I preached about this last Sunday.
It's just how long it took him?
What?
Three days.
Think about it.
To accomplish that much.
And honestly, Phil, I think he beat.
it as soon as he died, I just think it was three days just so you wouldn't say, because you
know what the stories would say, well, he really wasn't dead, because they still say that.
They just swooned.
But, you know, three days, that's dead.
Well, he was dead.
Think about it.
He was on the earth 33 years.
He did ministry for three years, and then he beat death in three days.
That's right.
But when you look outside of how big time is to put it in that small of a window,
I mean, there's a lot that happened right there in a small.
It is amazing.
It's incredible.
I mean, I love that statement, though.
It's one of the greatest statements in the Bible by art.
It's one of the greatest statements in the history of humanity.
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Who else can say that ever?
whoever could even get close to that.
That's right.
Just for some reason I picture the old west, you know,
and somebody says that.
They're like reaching for their gun.
But you know, it's funny.
You're intimidated.
The closest anybody came to that statement,
I just thought about this,
was when Jesus was tempted in the desert,
when Satan took him up on that mountain and said,
see all the splendors of the kingdom,
these have all been given to me.
I'm the big dog.
That's exactly right.
But he didn't say heaven and earth,
but he looked at the earth,
and said, I'm the man here.
Yeah.
That's what he was telling Jesus.
You bow down to me.
That's what the world doesn't understand when they make fun of us or just make it seem like Jesus is some kind of weak thing or crutch for, you know, scared people or whatever.
And you read statements like this, you're looking at them like, this is a dude here.
I mean, this is.
You know, Jena, you're thinking of when the Russian was looking at.
at Rocky and he said, I will crush you.
No, I must break.
I must break you.
But it's right.
The more you experience, it is something you have to come and experience.
Because if you just look at it from the results or the hypocritical nature or the, you know, the lawkeepers of the religious wing, you just get really a misunderstanding of what, of who he is.
I mean, but when you start tying all this through prophecy and history and the statements he made and the actual physical places where he was at, you go over there and you look around.
And then you look at all his followers and you start putting two and two together.
Wait a minute.
All these people were martyred for this.
And I mean, it just wouldn't make sense.
Yeah, right.
Let's take another break.
So what's interesting, Jay's when you said that, because I want to break a little bit of that great commission down.
You said that about how doubt, but remember we said last podcast, when they saw him, the disciples, they worshipped him, but some doubted, which I find fascinating because he's standing there as a risen glorified Jesus about to give him their margin orders and still in their hearts, they had some doubts.
So to me, it's really an encouragement because it helps all of us realize that we're going to go through some moments sometime that you have some doubts.
I mean, but look, he didn't chew them out.
He gave a charge.
And some of that was because he caused that by becoming a human.
I mean, because everybody goes back to, I mean, what's a famous saying?
You know, he puts his pants on just like I do, one leg at a time.
I mean, that's what everybody always go to.
Well, who do you think you are?
I mean, you had a dirty diaper.
Your peep stinks just like mine.
I mean, all these statements we say about not wanting to elevate any individual.
under somebody.
Above somebody.
So here's Jesus.
I mean, you think, well, at one time he had a dirty diaper.
That's why a Christian struggle to even in the TV show series, the chosen, a lot of that makes some religious people uncomfortable because they only want to view Jesus as the son of God.
That's right.
Which is not biblical.
Nope.
He was referred to as the son of man and son of God.
Referred to himself at that way.
He's bringing earth.
But the doubts come from when you just.
start looking at only his human side, you think, I mean, he was from Nazareth.
I mean, remember what, remember what Nathaniel said?
Well, he can't be.
What good comes out of Nazareth?
So that's how you're, that's how what causes doubts.
You're like, remember when Thomas said, I'm not going to believe it unless I put my, see the
scar?
Because why?
Because he probably walked by the cross and saw him.
Yep.
So he was like, no, I saw it.
He's dead.
He was probably, that makes sense.
Because that's the only way you'd say that.
You'd say, well, I wouldn't believe it because I saw him die.
Have you known anybody else to come back?
I mean, there was no mistaken that a Roman crucifixion, you're dead.
When they say it's no like these cheap bee movies like, oh, he really wasn't dead.
No, they were experts in killing you.
Oh, big time.
And that's what people don't fit.
You know, because they just, if by believing this.
And at the time, the most powerful force on Earth had to deal with the most powerful force in heaven and earth.
That's right.
Yeah.
I mean, you would think during the days of the Roman Empire, you know, these Romans, I mean, you know, they ran a pretty tight ship.
Oh, yeah.
But, Al, just like you were talking about Alexa.
They would slaughter their enemies.
Up until they were there, they were the most powerful group that's ever, you know, rule the world.
We don't like Alexis spying on us or any more.
everybody else for that matter.
But other people then feel like if they acknowledge that Jesus is real, then all of a
sudden they got to acknowledge that God sees all, knows all.
And then it's like, well, wait a minute, I don't want him seeing what I'm doing.
I mean, I don't want him spying on me.
So it's just easier.
Right.
And their own life, because they don't acknowledge that he chose me from the beginning.
They're like, nope, I'm just a random look.
Well, the kicker, though, is the reason why it's hard to deny him totally, and people try,
is because the little thing called conscience that nags at people, even when they say he's not real,
why did certain things bother them?
Yeah.
You know, you shouldn't care about what anybody does.
If we're just animals and we've just evolved to the top of the heat, why would it matter what he might do?
What's this concept?
We're this concept of good and evil.
That's right.
Why do we need, we don't care.
Why do we need law?
We don't care.
People don't do whatever they want to do.
Yep.
But it's not, it's not structured that way.
It seems like a coordinated mission, though, to make the internet a database of crappy ideas about who we are.
That's right.
I mean, because Alexa is only somebody that people trained.
Yeah.
I'm assuming it's all, even a computer program.
It's just a computer program.
Data that man filled up.
That's right.
well the fear is that AI will take over the world you know Terminator we're back to the Terminator
you know that's what happened in the robots robots we're all sitting there and we we train
I mean we put all our virus stuff into and then they take over us a lot of people feel it's going to
happen well the reason I don't is because I don't read about that in the scripture anywhere all
authority in heaven or it's been given to Jesus not to AI that's it so I'm not really that
worried about well wasn't there a movie about that or the oh there's been many movies about
All of a sudden, the robot stuck over.
Or you got the Matrix, which they just had another one, them come out, where everybody's living in a false reality.
They're all in a wet sack somewhere in a warehouse.
By 2050, the robots will be, there'll be man-made men, man-made men.
And they are making some creepy-looking things right now.
I mean, they look like people.
They all have similar features.
Well, yeah, to your point, it always comes back to something we can imagine.
That's it.
Show me something that doesn't have a body.
Some human quality.
Or they try, but you can't pull it off.
Let's take another break.
So the Great Commission, it answers all the key questions.
By the way, if you're looking for a passage to memorize, this is a good one.
This is your marching orders for the kingdom.
why Jesus authorized his power authorizes us where as you go because the record there it doesn't mean just go it's as you go the idea is you're going to be going so as you go there's the where what are we supposed to do make disciples of Jesus of Jesus who do we disciple all nations I love that and the word basically means every ethnic group because yeah the culture with this everybody
is on equal footing, this was Jesus' idea, wait for they came up with this at some college.
That's right.
You make disciples of all nations.
And that's why you have to watch this, and right now, nationalism is at a pretty big high in America.
And I understand why, because we have enemies around the world.
But you can't forget about the world because God loved the whole world.
I mean, God sent a son for the whole world.
So we can't just say, okay, we're going to be in America.
And the rest of you can fend for yourselves.
I mean, it's up to us to make sure as we go.
How many wars will it take for us to finally see that?
But they just keep, they just keep cranking them up.
That's about money, the war machine, you know.
And then the how is the last question.
How do you do it by baptizing them and teaching what we've been commanded to do?
So in other words, you lead people to transformation and then you teach them.
Well, that brings in the end too.
So all this had to be accomplished before the end because he said,
if you will, teaching them to obey everything I command, and I'll be with you to the end of the age.
That's right.
Meaning, this is an age.
It's fixed.
And remember, Matthew.
You're going to run out of time.
Matthew's already clearly shown, and we talked about this back in 24 and 25, that that age is going to end.
And they had 40 years for people to be converted.
By the way, I had mentioned this last time, but I think that's why Matthew stressed the story about the guards and the lie that was going around.
in his day that Jesus didn't really rise from the dead is he was letting them know,
you're on a time clock here.
I mean, the judgment is coming, you know?
Because you remember what Jesus said?
He said, when they asked him by whose authority, and he said,
you'll see me coming on clouds of glory, meaning judgment.
When I come back, it's going to be bad news bears.
But you think about it, he said that for our benefit, because he has no end.
Remember when Mia was about eight or nine.
and my daughter, she said one time we were right along, she said,
so if Jesus is 2000, I think it was like 2013,
if he's 2013 years old, how many wrinkles would that actually be?
That's a great question.
Yeah, it was.
I said, well, he got transformed though into a body into a place
where there's no age, which is my point here.
So when you see something like end of age,
because he no longer has an age.
Right.
I mean, you could, since he got here to the earth, I guess.
Well, the word also means era, so I mean it can be era as well as what he means.
So there are eras of time, you know, there was an era right before of 400 years
where it was just silence.
Well, right, but I'm saying if you're eternal now,
imperishable, which would make you eternal.
Correct.
The time has to be inserted.
Although here's the mind better days, he was already eternal.
Well, in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.
But you're right.
As a human being, he became eternal in flesh, which is why the body is so important.
We talk about this in the resurrection.
A lot of people miss the importance of the physical resurrection.
Because I hear people say, I hear funerals all the time and say, yeah, well, you
know this old body it goes into the ground you never have to you'll never see it again because
when you get to your reward i was like whoa whoa whoa well we get first jesus said you're going to
be like me well when we get we're going to get there when we get to first corinthians you know corinth was
more about the body in fact the body just in general is mentioned 60 times in that letter because they
the corinth in its culture worship the body find out what please
It pleases it and do it to the max.
I wonder how that plays today.
What was going on at Coralint?
They worship the body.
I've seen more flailing booze on the football channel, the NFL.
You can't escape it, can you?
You're trying to watch big burly men play football, and it turns into the woman show.
And every two minutes, they had to jump in and, you know.
Well, because when they score, Phil, it's.
active civilization.
I'm like, you know, these people don't ever quit.
Phil, that was finally written out in a meeting somewhere.
They're like, and they got more ways to keep the body held together with all these
brewed up the stuff you take, you know.
And I mean, I'm thinking, no, I'm satisfied.
It wears out.
Right.
Building them.
This one wears out.
No doubt about it.
Yeah.
The next one won't.
I mean, trust me, if you got enough money, you can.
Pretty well build it.
For a long time.
But what did you always say, Dad, that you could always tell the actors and actresses,
they do a lot of things, but they couldn't do anything about that neck.
When that neck goes, you might as well forget the time of spread.
Dad said that when I was a kid.
I started watching, he was right.
They could stretch everything else out, but that neck, it shows the age.
They'll figure it out.
They'll figure out a temporary reprieve.
Smooth neck.
That's what they have.
No, I think the greatest.
advice I heard Phil give him on that is he's like at a certain age the body is like ducks
they're all heading south yeah that's what old Carl house and our old mentor used to say
they say boys I'm getting a little bit getting a little bit of years on me got the furniture
disease I said furniture disease what's they said that's when my chest falls in my drawers
oh wow and I said yep that's a lot of truth to that your butt leaves unbuck of your pants
straight to the floor.
So that's what happens, you know,
which is why what we're talking about, I guess, is important, right?
So next time we come back,
I want to bridge into Corinth,
because we're going to be talking about the book of Corinthians,
actually first and second,
is where we're going to start our study on.
But I want to look at Acts 18,
because that's when Corinth is,
the church is first planted there.
Exactly.
And so we'll go there next time.
Who knew?
Three temp makers said,
Well, they got a message from the Lord, but they did.
But you know, it was interesting, Jayce, that was a work place conversion, which is why I think it's important for our audience.
I always remember, you know, you work someplace, but that's your best mission field to me is the place, because you spend a lot of time at work and the people around you.
But that's what happened when Paul, he's talking, they're building tents with Priscilla and Aquila.
And in conversation, that's what led them.
I mean, they were Jews.
but then they were led to Christ out of that conversation.
They wound up being the leaders of the church in Corinth.
I mean, they were the bedrock.
But that all started from a conversation at work.
So I wouldn't appreciate that until I went over to Greece and visited Athens and Corinth.
Yeah.
And you're looking at all these structures that are still relatively impressive a couple thousand years later.
Yeah.
But when you think, oh, here's some tent makers compared to the structures you're seeing, you're like, oh, yeah.
How's that job working out for you?
Because it was all about building these structures.
And you're right.
It's pretty impressive because same in Athens.
We saw them.
I mean, a lot of it's still there.
Oh.
Pretty impressive.
Yeah.
I mean, it's stood.
They've stood there's a lot of them on the ground.
Yeah.
You know.
Yeah.
but they've actually held up pretty well.
I didn't see any tents.
Of course, you noticed they had them big machines around there.
They worked on them all the time.
Oh, yeah.
Well, they're trying to hold on to it.
But to your point, you said, oh, Zeus, he's, you know.
We found him.
We found him.
He looks like this fountain pin on.
Lay down.
About four different chunks of him.
You don't want to follow a guy that you have to step over is the general rule.
Or dig a hole in the ground to get it.
him standing up. That's right. Exactly right. All right. We'll try to do better next time.
