So thank you very much. And without further ado, we can get into today's stories,
starting with an update to yesterday's episode about the public White House logs that showed
monthly visits from a neurologist and movements disease specialist.
Biden's primary care doctor has released a letter explaining the neurologist's visits. He writes in
part, quote, I wanted to share with you background on why Dr. Kevin Kennard visited the White House.
As I have written in each of the president's medical reports, as part of the president's
annual physical,
he sees a team of specialists that have included optometry, dentistry, orthopedics,
physical therapy, neurology, sleep medicine, cardiology, radiology, and dermatology.
Dr. Kennard was the neurological specialist that examined President Biden for each of his annual physicals. His findings have been made public each time I have released the results of the president's annual physical. President Biden
has not seen a neurologist outside of his annual physical. The letter also recounted the findings
from President Biden's most recent physical, which was in February, and said in part, quote,
a extremely detailed neurological exam was again reassuring in that there were no findings
which would be consistent with any cerebellar or other central neurological disorder,
such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, or ascending lateral sclerosis. No motor weakness
was detected. He exhibits no tremor either at rest or with activity. He demonstrates excellent
fine motor dexterity, end quote. So that is the
letter from President Biden's doctor in light of those White House logs, and now we can get into
the final GOP party platform, which was released yesterday. After yesterday's episode wrapped,
we got a look into the Republican Party's new policy platform as adopted by the Republican
National Committee. This year's policy is only 16 pages,
which is much shorter than the 2020 policy of 66 pages, but the platform reads in part,
quote, to make clear our commitment, we offer to the American people the 2024 GOP platform to make
America great again. It is a forward-looking agenda that begins with the following 20 promises that we
will accomplish very quickly when we win the White House and Republican majorities in the House and
Senate, end quote. And some of those 20 promises, I'm not going to run through all of them, but I
will run through about half of them, are as follows. One, seal the border and stop the migrant invasion. Two, carry out the largest deportation operation
in American history. Three, end inflation and make America affordable again. Four,
make America the dominant energy producer in the world by far. Five, large tax cuts for workers
and no tax on tips. Six, defend our constitution, our bill of rights,
and our fundamental freedoms, including freedom of speech, freedom of religion,
and the right to keep and bear arms. Seven, prevent World War III, restore peace in Europe
and in the Middle East, and build a great Iron Dome missile defense shield over our entire country,
all made in America. Eight, fight for and protect
Social Security and Medicare with no cuts, including no changes to the retirement age.
Nine, cut federal funding for any school pushing critical race theory, radical gender ideology,
and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children. Ten, keep men out of women's sports. Eleven, deport pro-Hamas
radicals and make our college campuses safe and patriotic again. And twelve, secure our elections,
including same-day voting, voter identification, paper ballots, and proof of citizenship. Now that
platform policy is then, so that's sort of the opening statement, if you will,
and then it's broken into 10 chapters. Each chapter has its own corresponding commitments.
As an example, chapter one is deflate inflation and quickly bring down all prices. Within chapter
one are five commitments to achieve lower inflation and lower prices, specifically unleash
American energy, rein in wasteful federal spending,
cut costly and burdensome regulations, stop illegal immigration, and restore peace through
strength. Each of those commitments then have an accompanying short description, and that is the
format that the policy platform follows throughout. Now, yesterday, I spoke specifically about the party's abortion policy. I said that the party did away with their stance on federal abortion limits, but I said we didn't have access to the exact text at the time that I reported,, which is, quote, we proudly stand for families and life. We believe that the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the
United States guarantees that no person can be denied life or liberty without due process,
and that the states are therefore free to pass laws protecting those rights.
After 51 years, because of us, that power has been given to the states and to a vote of the people.
We will oppose late-term abortion while supporting mothers and policies that advance prenatal care And quote,
Some other policies included in the policy platform include strict vetting of those that come into the country, not just immigrants, but also, quote, Christian-hating communists, Marxists, socialists, jihadists, and jihadist sympathizers, end quote.
It also includes putting American workers first, promoting homeownership through tax incentives
and support for first-time buyers, reducing the cost of higher education, reducing healthcare
costs, securing independence from China, protecting social security, restoring
parental rights and education, defunding schools that engage in political indoctrination, supporting
the First Amendment right to pray and read the Bible in schools, closing the Department of
Education and returning education to the states, ending left-wing gender insanity, defending
religious liberty, and modernizing the military. Obviously, I did not cover every
commitment included in the policy platform. I do, of course, have that policy platform linked for you
in the sources section of this episode if you want to read it for yourself. And that takes us into
Project 2025, the topic everyone has requested I talk about. What is Project 2025? Why is everyone
talking about it? Should I be worried?
Is it as concerning as I've heard it is? These are just some of the questions that I have received
with regard to Project 2025. So let's talk about it. Think of Project 2025 on the most basic level
as a recommended roadmap for the next Republican president. However, it is not a roadmap drawn out by the
official Republican Party or the Republican nominee, presumptive nominee. Instead, it's a
document created by independent conservative organizations and individuals across the country
that lay out what they want to see once the next Republican president is elected. In fact,
President Trump himself distanced himself
from the project just last week. He wrote on True Social, quote, I know nothing about Project 2025.
I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they're saying,
and some of the things they're saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything
they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them, end quote. And before that post, Trump's top campaign advisors had made similar statements
that Project 2025 has no official ties to Trump's re-election bid.
So let's start with who's behind it, a bit of history,
and then we'll walk through some of the policies laid out in what the creators call the mandate.
Some of the individuals behind the project include Paul
Danz, who serves as the director of the project and previously served as chairman of the National
Capital Planning Commission under Trump's administration, as well as Spencer Crichton,
who serves as associate director of the project and previously served as former special assistant
to President Trump. But the main entity behind the
project is the Heritage Foundation. The Heritage Foundation is a conservative think tank, a
conservative research and education institute. It formulates and promotes conservative public
policies based on conservative ideals. Now, one big misconception about the Heritage Foundation and this mandate for leadership,
which we'll talk more about, is that it's a new thing. It's not. In 1981, the Heritage Foundation
gave newly elected President Reagan the first ever copy of Mandate for Leadership, which the
foundation says was meant to turn the country around after Jimmy Carter's presidency. Since then,
a new mandate has been created by the Heritage
Foundation and these independent organizations and individuals every four years. The mandate,
which is part of Project 2025, is of course the most recent mandate. Now, Project 2025 is actually
built upon four pillars. The mandate for leadership is the 900-page document that everyone is talking
about, but that's only one of four pillars. That's actually the first of four pillars.
The second pillar is a LinkedIn-style database of personnel who could possibly serve in the next
administration. The third pillar is training for that pool of candidates, which is called the
Presidential Administration Academy. And the fourth pillar is a playbook of actions to be taken within the first 180 days in
office. So together, those four pillars make up Project 2025. But again, the pillar that's making
all of the headlines is that first pillar, the 900-page mandate for leadership. So here's how
it's broken down. The mandate has five sections,
taking the reins of the government, the common defense, the general welfare, the economy,
and the independent regulatory agencies. It's essentially an overhaul of the executive branch
and how the drafters recommend overhauling each agency for the best outcome, in their opinion, of course.
To give you a few examples, let's start with the Department of Health and Human Services,
which is Chapter 14 and part of Section 3 in the mandate. Here are some of the recommendations for
the HHS. One, protecting life, conscience, and bodily integrity. The Secretary should pursue
a robust agenda to protect the fundamental right to life,
protect conscience rights, and uphold bodily integrity rooted in biological realities,
not ideology.
2. Promoting stable and flourishing families.
This section recommends repealing policies like LGBTQ equity, subsidizing single motherhood,
disincentivizing work, and penalizing marriage to promote families comprised of a mother,
father, and their children. Three, prohibit Planned Parenthood from receiving Medicaid funds.
Four, shut and lock the revolving door between government and big pharma. The mandate recommends regulators have a cooling off period on their contracts that prevents them from working for
companies they have regulated. Now, let's switch gears to the Department of Justice. Here are a few examples from the
recommendations for that department, which is Chapter 17, also in Section 3.
1. Conduct an immediate, comprehensive review of all major active FBI investigations and activities
and terminate any that are unlawful or contrary to the national interest
to restore trust in the FBI and its work.
Two, prohibit the FBI from engaging in activities related to combating misinformation and
disinformation by Americans not tied to any plausible criminal activity. Three, enforce the
federal death penalty. This is something that's been on hold for years, at least at the federal
level. Now, these are obviously just a few of the recommendations set forth within the 900 pages of the mandate. Other recommendations
include limiting federal education policy and the elimination of the Department of Education,
adding new restrictions on immigration, ending subsidies for wind and solar power,
ending the Affordable Care Act, finishing the wall at the border, reversing the FDA's approval
of Mifepristone,
an abortion pill, and dismantling and reorganizing the Department of Homeland Security.
So it all revolves around these executive agencies because that is where the president's
authority lies. And again, this is a roadmap that the Heritage Foundation and the mandate's authors
are wanting the next Republican president to abide by. Now, because my
job is to do the opposite of fear monger and just tell you the facts as they exist, I want to remind
you of key facts that the media may not tell you. Number one, the mandate for leadership has been
around since 1981. However, it changes every four years. Two, consistently when it comes to conservative
leadership, Republican presidents tend to implement some but not all recommendations
included in the mandate. Now, this isn't because the presidents are following the mandate,
but rather because the mandate includes some conservative policies and ideals that Republican
presidents tend to align with given their political party.
Three, the mandate for leadership is not a required roadmap for presidents, meaning
the president is not required to follow the mandate. And four, these mandates are not drafted
by the official Republican party or the Republican nominee. They are drafted by conservative
individuals and organizations and reflect
what those individuals and organizations want to see once a Republican president takes office.
In fact, if you're wanting to know exactly what the Republican party is going to try to do
when and if Trump gets elected, just yesterday, the GOP released its official 2024 GOP platform.
It's a much shorter read than Project 2025.
It's 16 pages, and that will give you a better idea of where the party's focus is for the upcoming
election, or I should say an upcoming term, should Trump get elected. And because I always want to
leave you more informed than I found you, hopefully I already did that, but I always encourage you to
research for yourself. So my tip for you, if you don't want to read through all 922 pages of the mandate, but
you still want to familiarize yourself with aspects of it, pull up the mandate.
I have it linked for you.

And from there, rather than sifting through the entire 922 page document, you can read
through the relevant portions as they pertain to the issues that interest you most. And finally, let's finish this episode with some quick hitters. Hunter Biden
and his attorneys have withdrawn their motion for a new trial. It was filed last month following his
firearm conviction. In a court filing yesterday, prosecutors explained why Hunter's argument for
lack of jurisdiction was flawed. Prosecutors said that his argument was, quote, based on his
apparent misunderstanding of appellate practice and his failure to read the appellate court's
orders. End quote. Following that motion from the prosecution, Hunter's attorneys said they
would be withdrawing their motion. If you want more background on Hunter's motion for a new trial
and what the basis was, go ahead and listen to my June 25th episode. In other news, a deputy U.S. marshal
shot an 18-year-old who tried to carjack him while he was on guard outside Supreme Court Justice
Sotomayor's home in Washington, D.C. on Friday night. Though the incident is said to be random,
not targeted at Sotomayor, it happened at about 1.15 a.m. when the suspect approached one of the
marshal's cars and pointed a gun at him. both marshals then fired their own guns and shot the suspect who suffered non-life-threatening
injuries. And finally, actor Alec Baldwin's trial for the accidental shooting of cinematographer
Helena Hutchins on the set of his movie Rust began today. He is facing one charge of involuntary
manslaughter. That is what I have for you today. Thank you so much for
being here. Have a wonderful night and I will talk to you tomorrow.
