Starting point is 00:00:09 And welcome back to episode 405 of the unpaid and underrated podcast, a podcast by crew for crew. I'm one of your host, Big Keith, joined as always here by Big Joey. Howdy, howdy, howdy? And this week we have special guest, Big Tanner Paxton, one of the tanners. How are we doing, Tanner? I'm doing good. I'm the unoriginal Tanner. I mean, those are big shoes to fill, so it's a hefty name around these parts.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Anybody drink anything fancy this week? No. Just water right now. Water, water. I'm going to channel my inner Tommy and drink a pink apple lemon bowlers. Very nice. A big bowler guy. He's got the old A&W root beer sugar caffeine free.
Starting point is 00:00:55 So get a little bit of that cola taste and no caffeine at 8 o'clock. I'll be happy with that. Anybody wear anything? I got the old bench, bench heavy. Nope. Yeah, bench heavy. Yeah, bench heavy. Bench heavy.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Bench something. just the powerlifting shirt it's the biggest shirt it's so comfy just have one of the gym shirts that I have edible I got something like I got something with your name up in the mail I have not had a chance to get it washed yet it's been one of those days weeks yeah it is pre-worned so I did not put that in old know that smell yeah that was the smell that's fair I mean we were talking about like the you know the mass nomad or the the unpaid underrated uh you know, scent, and we had a lot of suggestions in Discord, but B.O. wasn't one of them, but yeah,
Starting point is 00:01:39 that's fair. That's fair. That would be probably the most realistic. I like somebody was like, it should be dick-scented. And I was like, I don't think I've ever had the luxury of smelling a dick. So I'm not going to be the one that's like trying to like put that scent into something. Like, I don't, how many dicks, okay. I mean, everything down there just smells like ass sometimes. It's sweaty enough. Like, like genuine question. How many dicks do you have to smell to then recreate the smell of dick? like is it between is it between one and 10 or is it like you just have to smell a lot of dicks gonna ask have to ask i mean it could be if it's an uncircumcised one it probably smells a little
Starting point is 00:02:16 different from a circumcised one that's that's that's potentially a thing okay yeah i would always just think of a dick smell like a condom like i haven't like not that i've worn a condom in 20 years but like it's just like i don't i wouldn't have another smell to us like i wouldn't have another male smell i have other smells i would associate with what that might smell like, but my own manhood, I think it would just be a rubber. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Like, I don't know other than, like, I don't know. It's weird. So it was a goofy, who was, who was that? Was that Brian, I think?
Starting point is 00:02:48 Yeah, I think it was one of the, one of the, one of the, one of the fucking silly geese in there telling us to smell like dicks. No, no, no, that's just a thing. That's just a thing.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Well, speaking of Dix, there's a good segue. I'm, I know that. I do like these segues I come up with sometimes. I got a care package. I think it came literally Friday. So it was like a day late for the podcast.
Starting point is 00:03:08 So it was an Amazon package to me. And I didn't order anything. I'm not actually, I think it was to me. I had to have been to me. But I wasn't expecting anything. So I told the wife to open it up knowing it was something. And it ended up being a three pack of dicks, like hard candy dicks. We've talked about it many of times.
Starting point is 00:03:27 I've gotten the gummy bear dicks. I will say the gummy bear dicks were actually awesome because they were like high quality, like good, chewy, edible candy. These fucking dicks. I did open a bag and, like, try to take a couple bites. Like, it was just, like, it was a gravel.
Starting point is 00:03:40 It was just sugary gravel of trash. So good execution, poor quality of candy. So it was a three pack. So I have a feeling, I'm not sure from do it locally if I'm going to take him to lift hard of easy,
Starting point is 00:03:53 but those other two are getting regifted in someone to get a bag. Oh, yeah, taking the Lift Hard LeVizzi. They're for sure just going to get fucking, put him in a bowl on the table for everybody. Well, I think it's going to be funier just to hide them
Starting point is 00:04:01 in someone's bag. and then like hear about it like the next day or something of like what the fuck so well instead of a cottage cheese eating let's have a candy dick eating competition and then we can talk about the smell afterwards ah the dicks the gifts that keep on giving um and then other other gifts we had a we had a we had the gift of a drop today was it the uh i don't remember the color terminology but tangerine peach terra cotta yeah her uh whatever terra I don't think I've ever heard that word in my life. Are you kidding me, man? So flower pots are made from terracotta, right? So you know when you see those kind of like off-rust color? Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's called terracotta.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Like, that's a type of clay. Yep. Interesting. That makes sense. So that's the big beefy pocket tea, which I don't think we've had a pocket tea in like since Listerd-Libati 1 because I remember I wore a lift-ardtardt Tarrer's backyard year 1. I was like, I'm dying.
Starting point is 00:04:58 Which also brings me fun. Like, I don't know if I'm not if I'm not if I'm not if I'm going to pack any comfort colors for Lift Hard Live Easy. It's not a good summer shirt when you're outside all day. So we'll have to really consider what wardrobe I'm taking. But that and then your favorite, the Cousie. I got two of those. Nice.
Starting point is 00:05:15 I want one for my forklift. And I think my brother wants one, but he was kind of like, we'll send me a picture of it and I'll decide if I want it. I was like, I'm not doing any of that. I'm going to order it. And if you don't want it, I have two. Like, that's where that's going to land. I did get the pocket tea.
Starting point is 00:05:29 and I got Morgan the lift shit tea. She wanted a large comfort color shirt. So I got her that one. That's the one she chose, you know, as payment for her designing the hottest selling shirt that we've ever released. It was. I was pretty happy.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Yeah, we've, I don't think they're officially sold out. I think there might be like one, two X and like two or three X else. But like, if you're a small, medium, or large, or a three X or a four X,
Starting point is 00:05:58 you're shit out of luck. as of like two weeks to tell. Well, like basically like a week into the drop probably or even days. You're on the wrong side of history. Yeah. So someday we'll do version three. 2029. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:11 What else you want to do? Should I do my stuff here? Yeah. Well, let's just like back and forth. So we're not, neither of us are talking for four seconds. Yeah, yeah, yeah. First and foremost, I am a master's completer now in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Talked about it last week that I was going to do it and then did it the next day. You are a master's completer, but are you in the last year? Hall of Fame. What do you mean? We said your master completers in the Hall of Fame or of the, I guess of the Hall of Fame. Of the Hall of Fame. Yeah. Of the Hall of Fame card 100% in the Hall of Fame, TBD.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Yeah. And actually, they haven't updated the Masters list in a while because I think that they're one of the Minnesota lifting department, maybe the Stapler or. Yeah, Stapler's a master, I believe. He's not on the website. So I'm just wondering if they just haven't updated because I asked, like, do, am I going to get on there now? They're busy.
Starting point is 00:06:57 They're busy as dinks. um so there's that one yeah so that's good stuff thanks man and it was not hard but it also just took forever yeah fucking not hard it took you you literally said you were gonna fucking finish the backlog like 18 months ago so i think it was a little hard well it was honestly just committing to it and once
Starting point is 00:07:17 yeah i think once you got past 176 it was like listening to them now right like that's where they found the most enjoyable aspect of it yeah yeah getting through a lot of those earlier episodes it was kind of like this isn't what i'm comfortable and no. It's a bigger commitment. I don't think it's going to be something a lot of the new guys, like does have desire, like all the gym radar fans, all the home,
Starting point is 00:07:38 all the guys that have come in specifically from home gym content, I don't think they're going to dive into the backlog whatsoever. And they might not, they might not even care about the Hall of Fame or anything like that, right? Half of them, not a half, but a lot of them don't even know what the Hall of Fame is. Like we literally get people that ask that. You can't blame them. So like in reality, did I need to do it?
Starting point is 00:07:57 No. Right. but I wasn't going to have one. I wasn't going to have one checkmark left. That's what it came down to. I was like, come on. Like, I 15 and 16. One is one that you can do without like having to rely on other people.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Yeah. I'm like, I don't have to travel or anything for it. So like, the fact that I didn't do it. Proud of you, buddy. Thank you. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Thanks, I got, I got a cool new flag. It was a late present. Well, it's two-part story. So I think I did, birthday stuff with my mother-in-law and my wife's out of the family about a week after my birthday.
Starting point is 00:08:33 And I got a huge mass, a huge no wine cellar custom flag. And I screwed up and put it in as a four by six instead of a three by five because I had like the perfect spot that I wanted to hang two flags and replace my West Virginia and my Cleveland Browns flag. Kind of going to go into a laundry room that I use as curtains. And the four by six is just too fucking massive. So that's where I going to end up in the garage. But like I couldn't even get a picture with it because I can't like my wingspan isn't six feet long. So I do need to take a funny picture with it because I will be dwarfed by it. Like, you won't see me.
Starting point is 00:09:03 But then, and then my mom ordered me one too, but it was on, it was, you know, it took longer to get here. She got me the unpaid and underrated one that I just, both of these I just made on Amazon for, you know, the bit with almost 50 bucks and one was 30 bucks. So like reasonably priced, decent quality flags. If you want a flag over other things or banners and whatnot. But if you do like banners, code unpaid, unpaid, plate snacks, help you up. Anyway, so the unpaid one underrated, super cool. love it, very nifty, nice little addition to the gym. So I was happy.
Starting point is 00:09:30 But the funnier part was just how massive the one foot in either direction, how big of a difference that made and how it kind of ruined what I was going to do. And I got nobody to blame it myself. Yep. Because math is hard. That's a giant flag. Flag. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Fleague. Flig, flag. What is this? Is it just me? Has it been around for a long time? Like, I've just noticed it in the past like a week or two. everyone's saying something maxing whatever it is like it's just everyone's being witty and coming up with like whatever they're talking about and then sit calling it maxing like like i don't even i can't even
Starting point is 00:10:05 think of a good example because i i i borderline roll my eyes every time i hear it because i'm like is this just something everyone's jumping on is this something that's always been around it's just internet it's internet slang i think um people talking i heard it in like so many levels like like yeah like different friend groups that are completely unrelated to each other and completely different ages and demographics and I'm like, you say this shit too now? Are you being sarcastic? I think it. The first time I heard it was looks maxing, which that weird clavicular guy does, where he's just trying to be as handsome as possible to hide the fact that he doesn't have a personality. And I think it just went from there, like in like a tongue and cheek kind of,
Starting point is 00:10:44 like somebody, I once posted a selfie at somewhere and somebody's like, oh, your beard maxing. And I was like, yep, guess I am, right? So, way, I think it's really just a tongue-in-cheek way to make fun of kind of internet slang, but that's where it starts until it eventually becomes something you normally say. Right? Like, you start saying something ironically. Go ahead, Tanner. That's the perks who are working with the over-50 crowd for me is.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Yeah. I thought it was just y'all that used that. Yeah, no, it's... I'd never heard it before. It's big on the interwebs. Yeah, it's definitely just something that hit my radar more lately. And I'm just like, where is this coming from? And why is everyone saying it?
Starting point is 00:11:24 That's how it starts. You start saying it ironically and then you start saying it. 17 days out from Lachard Live Easy when this episode comes out on the Tuesday, 17 days. So if the hay's not in the barn, you better start packing it. Yep. You're not getting stronger in two weeks. Hope you're already there. You definitely hurt yourself, though.
Starting point is 00:11:44 Yep. Yeah, you can certainly get weaker. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, you start tearing a muscle or something. speaking of being super weak I can go over my competition results
Starting point is 00:11:56 that was a good segue self self burn but like fair segue I love it yeah so you know getting a week and a half notice on movements I've never done but I wasn't going to turn it down so I did compete
Starting point is 00:12:13 in the stones of strength in the novice first time they've ever had a novice right um so you know, I showed you the video of the pipe in, right, where the piper walks us all in. Yeah, yeah. I'm a head shorter than the next short guy.
Starting point is 00:12:31 There to another person under six foot there, I don't think. Yeah. And a lot of these guys are bigger guys and all that, but like I wasn't going to turn down. I ended up, I found out whose spot I filled. And the shirt that I got was an XL. You were swimming in that. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:47 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, like, no, I didn't do well. I think the only thing I actually got to completion was the stone throw. And it was not a put. You could technically throw that in any way, right? So, like, Taylor Peck was there.
Starting point is 00:13:01 She's a pro-strong woman. Lindsay was there. Everybody throws differently. Taylor was doing underhand. Some people were doing over their top of their head. Underhand. I could probably get some distance with, like, a granny shot. I could, you throw a bicep out, too, though, or tear to bicep, I think.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Yeah. So the way I did it was the shuffle. and from shoulder with two hands. I think I got eight feet, 11 inches. It turns out we were doing the same weight as the open class. There were some arguments,
Starting point is 00:13:27 whether it was 80 or 90. Well, I also kind of learned that that's just the nature of stones. Right? Like, if the stone you want doesn't show up, you have to lift the one you have.
Starting point is 00:13:36 Yeah. Right? And then from there, I pretty much, I didn't, like, fail anything, but I didn't complete anything. I couldn't,
Starting point is 00:13:45 I think the stone that we had to press ended up being 155, not 135. And nope, got it just over my head, but couldn't lock it out. I mean, yeah, I look at that as partial points. You got it to chest. Like, a lot of rock stuff and stone stuff, it is like, maybe not in that event, but like you get a point for lap and it.
Starting point is 00:14:05 You get a point for getting it to your chest, and then you get a point for shouldering it. This one, you got a point for every rep. Yeah, so. So, nope, didn't get any points on that one. Then the Dini Walk was next. it's funny because the announcer had no clue who I was. And finally,
Starting point is 00:14:22 he kept just mentioning how I'm smaller than everybody. And he's like, you're smaller than half the women in this competition. I'm like, yeah, I know. And I was like, these ditties. You keep telling the women that. They love to hear that.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Yeah, these dinnys stones weigh like two and a half times my weight. Yeah. Right? Because they were around 400. It was 1.15, 215 and 190 something. Pick up, flawless. It's the same thing with the,
Starting point is 00:14:45 the press and the Atlas Stone. The pickup, everybody was just like, holy shit. But then the Dinnies Stones, what I learned, when I tried to walk, I just couldn't. And then, interestingly, if you're taller, you have room to correct, right? So if you're trying to walk holding Dini Stones and you kind of like falter a bit,
Starting point is 00:15:08 they're not going to touch the ground. When you're five foot four, the moment you even wiggle a little bit, you're just like, they hit the ground and I was like, well, I'm out, right? As soon as I touch the ground, that's your walk. And then the Atlas Stone, oh, I decided to try tacky for the first time at my first competition, which was a huge mistake. I did not enjoy the tacky at all.
Starting point is 00:15:30 Tacky's hard if you're not used to it. Yeah, I could not shoulder it. I got it up to my shoulder. It was 215 pounds. Did it let you wear your grip shirt? Yes. Some competitions are anal about, nope, no grip shirt. He warned me in advance.
Starting point is 00:15:44 I could. Yeah, yeah. I could wear, I grip shirt, no kilt. Right? I got it like up to shoulder height, but I couldn't roll it on to my shoulder.
Starting point is 00:15:53 So I got no points there. Interestingly, had a ton of fun. There was a, remember at that one power lifting me where I was like, oh shit, you were there and I didn't talk to you?
Starting point is 00:16:04 Yeah, I was competing with a guy I know from Instagram. And he's like, I messaged him after of like, dude, I didn't clue in that that was you because he had like glasses and a hat and everything.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Like I had no clue. And he goes, oh, don't worry. I knew you were the famous, Joey. I'm like, fuck. So, yeah, I also learned that I can lift up some stones. My static strength is pretty good, but I do not have a lot of movement strength, which I can work on. But otherwise, I had a ton of fun, and I competed in my first Celtic games, right?
Starting point is 00:16:35 So that's definitely there now. What else was I going to say? I guess that's about it. It was a ton of fun of any sort in a few years, too, right? It's literally easy, too? Pretty much, yeah. I don't think, or did you, because you did the, you did power lifting locally before that, but not after, right?
Starting point is 00:16:51 No. So yeah, that's literally, you know, it's your 23 month anniversary from your last. So you did something. That's pretty cool. The crowd was super behind me. That's actually, I think one of the coolest things is just how much they really wanted to see me. Was there actually a crowd?
Starting point is 00:17:06 Like, I can't imagine, like, how, like, I figured a lot of those things like that would be hit or miss on if there's like 100 people or 10 people. Yeah, no, there was, there was probably good. 50 to 75 people. And they were just cheering me on and screaming my name. Like, they just wanted to see me get something because obviously I'm the underdog, right? We can have no to,
Starting point is 00:17:24 like, there was a story there, but it was honestly so cool to have them, like, cheering for me and yelling for me and all that. So that's fun. Do you have to be alone? Anybody go help you or anything?
Starting point is 00:17:34 Or it was just you just solo in it? Well, it was me and all the people I knew, right? Okay, so you didn't know. You weren't, you did at least know multiple people once a same basis. It wasn't just a bunch of,
Starting point is 00:17:44 We have an Ontario stone lifting chat and at least four people from there were there. Gotcha. Thanks. I got to watch a strong man competition in Omaha here like two months ago. It's the first one I'd ever been to watch and I watched a guy. There was like maybe five competitors doing a Denny Stone walk and then they had to pick one of them up over the staircase. Yeah, the power steps. And that, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:13 So Denny Walk. two power stairs. Oof. Yeah, they were $2.50 in each hand up to the power stairs. But I never really thought about it, but Joey said that when you're shorter, there isn't much room for error, but the tallest guy just cruised through it. Yep. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:31 And then the next tallest guy was smaller. I mean, he was maybe 6 to like 230, 240, and he mowed through it too. But the two shorter guys, they were probably... 5-8, 5-9, really struggled. Yeah, because it's like that first step, I could imagine that would be pretty tough. Yeah, and that's what it was. Like, honestly, once I,
Starting point is 00:18:54 if you're like really tall and you kind of swing to one side, it doesn't matter. But when you're short and you swing to one side, well, there's only like four or five inches of clearance. Like, they're just going to hit something. They're going to hit your ankle or they're going to hit the ground. So it is what it is. It's something I can work on here.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Since I've been like the power stair, I can do that. The power stair, when Tanner talked about it's kind of interesting too because a tall guy can literally just like RDL it up and just like put it forward the short guys literally have to like triple extension it like essentially they have to like
Starting point is 00:19:22 literally like treat it like a like a sandbag you gotta Gabriel it you gotta I was you know you gotta fuck the air in front of you for sure that's yeah um the YouTube video I'm sure
Starting point is 00:19:35 I think this is the first one that I've kind of been like I don't know I watched it it was the not crew ones, man. Like, I really like, so I prefer that was like, I really enjoyed Seamus's. I think I've already watched this guy, like, Huck Finn did one a couple years ago there. So I kind of already was like familiar with the gym. But like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:52 I didn't dislike it, but it just didn't have the same vibe without being crew or I don't know. I was still good. But I feel like they're going to get into more of those in the future too. Because only so, I mean, I can't say there's not only so many crews, there's 800 of us and probably 500 on Jim radar. But like, yeah, they got to sprinkle in some different ones to try to, I mean, it's all that, that, that marketing. approach that they talk about, you know, well, that was next week's episode, actually, the marketing, but just diversifying a little bit,
Starting point is 00:20:20 but it was okay. I don't know if anyone else had a hotter take than I did. I don't normally get to watch them. I don't think you ever really talked about them. No, so today I did because, like I said to you earlier, I went to work in about like two hours into my shift. I was just like, I'm not good, right? Like lightheaded and just multiple times.
Starting point is 00:20:42 chips to the washroom. So I just came home and went to bed. And then when I woke up, I just sat at the sat on the couch and honestly just played on Jim Radar for two hours. And then the YouTube dropped. So that was nice. Obviously, it's wrestling related. So I had some, a little more interest in it than you might. But yeah, it was like a lot of really cool equipment. But yeah, I enjoyed it. He didn't know what Jim Radar was. He didn't know shit about Messinawani. I'm just like, Yeah. But it's also like they didn't go to Chicago just for him. It was kind of shoe hoarding because they were already like out there with a bunch of other stuff. And like I wasn't upset with it. It's just, I don't know. Tanner, did you get to watch it? I did not. Okay. Well, we won't. I just got home. That's all right. Um, honestly, wanted to just say congratulations, Nate on the birth of your baby girl Rose. She is absolutely gorgeous. I'm glad everything went okay. And we love you and we love Rose. Ditto. She's a cutie.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Yeah, congrats. Just one quick one. I only want to do this if we have time. We got a few minutes. So I went to a place that I've been going to since I was a kid. It's called the Royal Botanical Gardens. It is a long story, but it was built for the queen, and it's like a conservation area.
Starting point is 00:22:04 And they also happen to have, like, events and stuff like that. And I'm waiting to renew my membership. I've had a membership there for the past 10 years. But, you know, with me working every weekend ever at my old job, we just said, we don't go enough to justify the cost of the membership. So, but now that I'm off, I wanted to take the kids. And I'm waiting in line behind this lady who's just wonderful. She's just trying to get her membership done. And then this guy comes in behind me.
Starting point is 00:22:31 And, you know, the first red flag is he's walking in past my car, shouting into his phone on speakerphone. I hate those. Yeah. And then as I'm getting out of the car, I'm talking to the kids. And the person he's with, maybe his wife or something, just shoots me a dirty look like I'm interrupting his conversation. So right off the bat, I'm like... I'm already pissed off. Yeah, I'm already like this.
Starting point is 00:22:57 So mad. It's this story. And he's wearing like a suit. He's wearing like a blazer over a t-shirt to go to a garden in 30 degrees Celsius weather. So like already there's just like a bunch of like, mm. Okay, whatever. Yeah. He's whatever.
Starting point is 00:23:13 And he meets a guy there and they come stand behind me in line and he turns to his friend and goes, every time I'm here, I feel like I have to complain about something. Like, this place is just not good. And I wanted to turn around and be like, it's you. Like, if you go to a place and complain about something, he was there to complain they weren't open late enough. He was there at 1230 p.m. to complain that they're not open past five.
Starting point is 00:23:40 What? And, like, those poor volunteer lady, she... Are we talking about Sundays? Saturday. This was a Saturday. There was a callback to... Oh, yeah, okay, because I'm going to go for lunch. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:53 And he's, like, it was just one of those, like, I'm just biting my tongue because my kids are there. Yeah, that's gotta be... And he's like, he's like, he's shouting at this poor elderly woman, and he's just like, well, I work. You're saying, I can't come after work? She's like, you'd be the only one here. Like, we've done the analysis.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Nobody comes after 5 o'clock, unless we're holding an event where you bite tibing. tickets. And he's like, well, that's ridiculous. I pay to come here and blah, blah, blah. And it's just like, I got to tell you, as far as somebody, I worked in customer service for 13 years. If you go somewhere and you get bad service every time you go there, it's you. It's you. That's a fact. Right? And so stop going there. Just figure it out, man. Like maybe, maybe the reason you feel like you have to complain about something every time you come here is because you shouldn't be here. Right? This point.
Starting point is 00:24:40 place is wonderful. It's like I've been going there since I was my son's age. He's seven. And I have been going there. I have a favorite tree in the Mediterranean gardens that I visit every time I go until it died and they removed it. Like, I love this place. And he's just, I've got to complain every time I'm here. Then don't come here. Like at that rate. Anyway, that was my kind of customer service rant. Just like, yeah. Just being respectful. Is it just like a walk through like park with a bunch of nice plants and stuff, is that what you're talking about? It's kind of like that. Like, if you wanted to look it up, it's called the Royal Botanical Gardens.
Starting point is 00:25:15 And it's like, they have several areas. There's like an arbitrarium where they have like different trees from around the world. And then this is like the main park where they have different sections. They host events. They host conservation stuff. They have hiking trails. This one was a sculpture event that I wanted to take the kids to because it was a bit
Starting point is 00:25:32 like a whimsical kind of like thing for them to go and look at everything. And I don't, I don't know. It's just like half these people are volunteers. Stop complaining to them. If you complain every time you come here, don't come here. It's pretty straightforward. Like, you don't like it here. That's obvious.
Starting point is 00:25:50 Yeah. My one follow-up in kind of a different segue is you had mentioned like you couldn't really react because of your kids. And I commend you for that because so many people act like complete fucking douchebags even in front of their kids. It's like you're setting such like you're just being a prick in public and giving such shitty examples of how to be a human to your fucking children. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:13 And you're an embarrassment to just the human race. And I feel bad for your children. And I see it all the time. You know, it worked, personal life. You know, obviously on social media, you see like the worst of the worst. But like, I don't, I still, some of the worst of the worst shit I see in public in my own fucking town sometimes. And I'm just like, just embarrassed by people that just can't even, if you can't
Starting point is 00:26:36 act good in front of your kids, who the, like, what's the, like, what's the, like, what the fuck are you like when your kids aren't around or are you just the same piece of shit 24 seven so i don't know i i was uh i was at the grocery store like two months ago with my one year old and i always like when i leave the grocery store i always just take all the bags out of the cart leave the cart inside and carry my son with me right and i put him in the truck and this gal starts screaming at me and i'm like i i had no idea who she was yelling at and i turned around and looked at her and she's like four feet away from me with her hand up pointing at me that I didn't put my cart away because there's a cart like in the middle of the
Starting point is 00:27:18 parking lot she just told me that she was yeah she told me that she fucking watched me put it there and I'm like I'm like dude like I'm not to lose my mind I'm like I'm like I today's my day off we can go inside and we can watch the security camera and then I'll accept my apology afterwards. Yeah. She could see the fucking video and still wouldn't acknowledge the apology. Yeah. And then the next week, like literally one week to the day,
Starting point is 00:27:50 some gal tried to kid in a parking lot of a one in Omaha. And yeah, I was like, oh, I'm so glad those two situations happened in the order they did. Yeah. Because I was like, I was going to lose my mind if that had happened after that. Ugh, people just like... Just crazy people, man. Yep. Wild people.
Starting point is 00:28:13 Like, maybe, maybe this guy, like, all of those red flags and all of the things about it that, like, just kind of like, you know, there might be a confirmation bias. Like, you're on your speaker phone. Your wife's looking at me for me. You're this, you're that. Like, maybe all of that just led to me kind of already thinking, I wouldn't like this guy. And therefore his, I have to complain every time I'm here, just made it worse in my head. maybe, but I'm sure the crew will correct me.
Starting point is 00:28:39 But either way, it was just like, and then he's like complaining about the weight. And it's like, you're complaining about the weight to complain? Like, think about that. Didn't like the felt load of it? Didn't like the felt load. Anyway, that's enough. On words for the David's.
Starting point is 00:28:58 Tanner, did you get a chance to watch last week's, we'll listen to last week's Massonomics episode. And, uh, yeah. Do you get any opinions on that and a rating, if you will? this is the one where they is your hobby shopping or training. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:29:12 it was such a weird way to put it. Like, I get the logic, but it was just the way they were. Yeah. I guess it makes, um, retail.
Starting point is 00:29:17 I thought it was top half of the ones I've listened to. So, it was good. Uh, did you have a rating? Yeah. Yeah, I'd give it five out of five,
Starting point is 00:29:28 uh, getting called big dog. Nice. With a, with a caveat of, I'm going to give it, an award called the highest award for achievement. Very good.
Starting point is 00:29:44 Keith, did you want me to go or do you want to go? Yeah, you're up because, well, I guess it depends. Are we, do we want to switch affiliates permanently for a while?
Starting point is 00:29:51 I'm good with, oh, you change it to one of us, you smart ass. What's up? Did you do that? Last week, I think.
Starting point is 00:29:59 Yeah, so last week's episode, uh, the Dale Carnegie, Carnegie, I don't, the award, Tanner going in that rabbit hole and then somebody actually,
Starting point is 00:30:10 uh, stall Matt, actually finding it. And I ended up finding the same picture too because I needed to, I wanted to get the original like not the AI version of it. I'd just spend like five minutes scrolling back. Cause I, I think I went to whatever Facebook group it was that he had found.
Starting point is 00:30:24 And it was like from 2014 or something. It fucking took like, I was just like blindly like was watching TV and just had to keep swiping my hand up for like, like three minutes straight to get down that far. Uh, but that was a really funny picture. and it was worth it. The self-voting
Starting point is 00:30:39 part of the story where it's just like, I'm not going to vote for any of these other assholes. They wouldn't even take their fucking hats off. Yeah. It's like these corn-fed motherfuckers won't even take their hat off inside of the building when the guys hold them to. 69 hard.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Like, that was just, I want to see somebody run with that. Like, they could almost be a shirt if it wasn't so vulgar, probably. But I mean, they've had, but I don't know. That would be funny. I think there's been a couple of AI memes. over that.
Starting point is 00:31:05 I'm curious if 69 hard could actually get some traction and be a thing. I love Tommy's like lift three days a week and if there's family obligations that cause you not to lift, who cares?
Starting point is 00:31:14 Right? Like it's just like, yes, that's the life you live and we'll just call it 69 hard. Yeah, like that's the life you live when you get to our age.
Starting point is 00:31:21 Like today I had all the time in the world to hit the gym but I couldn't because I felt like ass all day. You needed sleep if you were in the bathroom that much. I think the closing thing that stuck out to me
Starting point is 00:31:33 was, I actually need to follow up with Tommy about this. See if, well, when Tommy listens to this in 2079, uh, the, the, he said he used the drink spotter as a chalk bowl. He put some tape inside of it. And I'm like, I could, because I've got like, now that I've kind of expanded and I'm, I'm doing a lot more pressing stuff on one side of the gym, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's not annoying because it's literally like, 15 feet, but like, I do have to walk to the entire other side of the gym to get chalk. And I'd be like, it'd be really cool to have chalk right here and have it not be messy, but I don't really have a perfect place for it. And I'm like, ooh, if I could, I might make sure.
Starting point is 00:32:03 shift what he did. I want to see if he just, like, put duct tape inside of it, or I think even 3D printing something to make it like the perfect mold and have like zero risk of leakage could be a thing. Um,
Starting point is 00:32:14 and that could be like honestly a whole new product of a, a magnetic drink spotter that is a chalk bowl. Like not the chalk spotter stuff. Yes. I mean, stuff like that kind of exists. There are magnetic chalk bowls, but they're kind of suck because they're not,
Starting point is 00:32:27 they end up coming off and it's like a really shitty angle. And it does me, it's more like a, I don't know, it's like the cups the wrong way. It's like facing out. not up. So it's like,
Starting point is 00:32:35 I don't know. I don't like, like Rogue makes one maybe. I don't, I don't love it, but that's something I, that honestly, the most random thing that stuck out to me was I,
Starting point is 00:32:43 next time I'm in the gym, I need to like figure out how to make one of my drink spotters, uh, uh, test it test to make it a, uh, a chalk bowl. So I'm going to give it five out of five potential future product chalkballs.
Starting point is 00:32:56 Um, yeah, obviously I listened. Now that I'm caught up on the backlog, I have all the time in the world to listen to new episodes. And, uh, you know, I'm with Tommy.
Starting point is 00:33:03 self-help books are generally stupid. I read a lot of them, right, as just part of my leadership training at my old job. The one that really kind of, like I said, in Discord stuck out was the five levels of leadership because it can really help you recognize good management versus bad management. And I do like Simon Seneck sometimes.
Starting point is 00:33:26 I think I like listening to him, but it has to be like in short form. Like I can't watch an entire half an hour TED talk of him, but I do kind of like his stuff. So, yeah, going over all that stuff was really fun. Just them laughing their ass off at 69 hard was so funny. Yeah. I always love when they make each other laugh like that.
Starting point is 00:33:45 And yeah, generally good episode. I'm going to give that a five out of five habits of highly effective people. Nice, nice. So we got some affiliates. We got obsidian ammonia. Coming soon to you, a potential you and you flavored one, maybe, maybe someday. You know, possibly dick, shit, or B.O. We're not sure yet.
Starting point is 00:34:06 Some combination of the three, possibly. So it just not like you're, you know, any YMCA locker room. Plate snacks, code unpaid. You still have a little bit of time. They'll probably be a Fourth of July sale, which don't use that. Get the order in now because you can't stack your discounts. So get to get that discount in now. Code unpaid.
Starting point is 00:34:24 And then belt fed strength. He's working diligently to get those leather belts for your pants and your blue jeans. He loves making those. So if you need a custom pants belt, you know, for under $100, give or take, probably for extremely high quality American made raw hide pants belt, big Chris. Raw hide. It'll make you some leather belts over there. Code unpaid. All right.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Do you have a sponsor read for us there, Tanner? I do. I'm going to have to read it. But it works. All right. So are you alone and spend your days pumping crispy iron in the garage? Have you ever thought about? what it's like to have friends who also like lifting weights in their perspective homes and
Starting point is 00:35:06 or garages. Do you want to give random people on the internet your home address or your family lives so they can send you stickers? Do you like quietly recorded podcasts? Do you train for size? Have you ever said the words whipping shitties or wonder what it means? I know this sounds too good to be true. No one thing can scratch all of these inches at one time. But for a small price of $1,080. You can have all of these things for the next 30 years of your life. You can get strong to. One disclaimer, fine print, shirts and apparel are not included in the price, but you
Starting point is 00:35:44 can't afford not to. Nice. Steph, follow up with the whipping shitties. So Stephanie got the bumper sticker because she's a supporting member a couple weeks ago, too, and didn't really, she was just like, here, you can have this, whatever. And I think they mentioned, I think we were listening to it on the podcast either day and she heard him say it or maybe they did a whipping shitty post on Instagram possibly because I don't think
Starting point is 00:36:05 think she understood what whipping shitties was I think she even saw the bumper sticker and just like didn't know what the fuck it meant and she was like wait did they make these bumper stickers before or after they knew that like no one says whipping shitties except like people in the Midwest and she was just so confused like the whole concept of it and I was just like yeah that's that's kind of the joke partially is no one says whipping shitties except them but now we kind of do but I still refuse to say whipping shitties like locally and like is it a term of doing a donut. I just can't bring myself to do that because I don't know.
Starting point is 00:36:33 It just doesn't make sense. But someone fucking, the second side fucking follow-up is going to make this episode go along. Tanner said that he could use cookie instead of fucking donut and that would make more sense. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:36:47 are you fucking kidding me? That's the dumbest fucking, that might be the dumbest, the wildest thing I've ever heard. A fucking cookie. And I mean, logically, it makes just as much sense as a donut, really, because it's a fucking circle.
Starting point is 00:36:56 I get it, but like, never heard of anyone saying anything to do with a fucking driving in a circle by giving it gas is a fucking cookie. I just like tossing your cookies. Sure. I could do a donut and get someone sick and they tossed her cookies,
Starting point is 00:37:10 but not a fucking tossing cookies because you did a cookie. That doesn't make a fucking sense. No, never heard that either. All right. Well, as someone that lives adjacent to them, have you ever heard of cookies? Tanner?
Starting point is 00:37:23 No, we always said donuts or whipping shitties. It doesn't even look like a cookie. unless you like cut the middle of it out unless you're doing it wrong. Whereas you're right. At least a donut does have the fucking, yeah, makes more sense.
Starting point is 00:37:37 Yeah. So I don't know. Now would you say whipping shitties and donuts are equal-ish on what you guys would say out there or is one higher or than the other? I'd probably hear donuts more. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:53 But all the adults around me are kind of whipping shitties or donuts. They'll always say, oh, I'm out whipping shitties, you know, doing donuts. Gotcha. Good deal.
Starting point is 00:38:04 All right. Yeah, just a quick, I think I've talked about it before. So I'd never heard whip and shitties until they said it like years ago on the podcast. And then one day I was driving out in a rural area and there was kids on the side of the road selling Girl Guide cookies. And I was like,
Starting point is 00:38:20 well, I'm going to fucking buy those. And we pull up into the driveway and I buy my cookies. And having just heard. heard it like maybe the week before for the first time. The lady goes, ah, if you need it, you can whip a shitty in my driveway. And it was only because Massonomics had just talked about it, that that was the first time I'd heard it. And now the second time I heard it was some stranger in a rural area here in Canada.
Starting point is 00:38:43 And I was just like, oh, no, I'm good. But it was so weird that I knew what it meant because of Massonomics. Funny. Yeah. And even weirder that you were buying cookies at the time. Oh, yeah. Good call. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:55 Now that's meta right there. Now that's some full circle shit. That's true. I didn't make that connection. That's a good eye there, Tanner. All right, boys, we better kick all these looky-lose off and get that guest on the horn. You think you can dial them up there, Joey? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:11 Tanner, is that you? Is this Joey? This is Joey. I'm from the unpaid and underrated podcast. I'm here with Keith. Howdy, howdy. All right. We're going to jump right in.
Starting point is 00:39:23 Like I said, don't want to lose any gold here. We'll start with the same questions that we ask everybody as an introduction. Who are you? Give us your Instagram, give us your Discord. I'm Tanner Paxton. Look me up just about anywhere. I've got a couple different Instagram accounts, unfortunately. I've got one, my personal one, you can get me on there.
Starting point is 00:39:46 I know some of them have already done that. Power locks Nebraska is the other one on Instagram. I think the Discord is Big T. and I'm not on Facebook much for anything other than Messenger and Facebook marketplace. Very good. That's because Facebook sucks. Fact.
Starting point is 00:40:08 So what brought you to Massonomics? You've been here just a little bit of time. So why are you here? Coach Moe. Nice. Yeah, I actually met Coach Moe and gosh, it had to have been 2021, maybe.
Starting point is 00:40:24 It could have been earlier than that. He came out to the gym and Lincoln and kind of just hung out with me. He knew my uncle, and they were both college strength conditioning coaches. And he came out to the gym, kind of saw what we do here in Lincoln, and he kind of wants to do the same thing up there in South Dakota. He didn't mention it. At least I don't remember if he mentioned it at the time, Massonomics. And I don't do a whole lot of Internet, so I didn't.
Starting point is 00:40:54 really realize there was this giant home gym community online. I'm like, this would have been sweet if they were around in 2018. And then I found out they were. We definitely were. And Coach Mo had mentioned it. I was calling him a couple times before the end of the year last year. He's like, you should really join Massonomics. And I was like, what's that? And so I added him on Instagram and realize there's a podcast and all that stuff. And that's kind of my long story short about getting here. I think I'm a sporting member January this year, January, February. So you're actually getting a chance to get into the podcast or just kind of like overwhelmed
Starting point is 00:41:45 with so much other stuff in life? I don't know how much podcast consumption you're getting in. I'm probably 20 deep on each, on the, Asinomics podcast, I've just listened to the most current 20. Mm-hmm. And then unpaid underrated, I've listened to probably the first, maybe six or seven. And then the most recent, you know, 10, 11, 12. That's got to be a fucking polar, the poll, a shocking, a jarring flip.
Starting point is 00:42:15 Because like, I, oh, man, that would be, that's. I don't think it's that bad. I think, uh, uh, uh, I, you guys are just as good at it now as you were then. Oh. Fuck you. Who wrote that joke for you, Tanner? I know.
Starting point is 00:42:33 You know, it was actually pretty good. The sound seems the same. You know, I think they all sounded pretty good. You guys interviewed people, you know, the people then is kind of fun to go back and listen to the original episodes. And, you know, I'm friends with these people on Instagram. but I have no idea who they are. So it was kind of cool to go through and listen to all that.
Starting point is 00:42:58 And then I'm not one that goes through each episode to try to pick one out. I listened to Coach Moves, which was pretty funny. Yeah. But then the rest of them, I'm like, oh, I wonder if they've been on here again. That'd be kind of cool. In the future, we might figure something out like that, but it's hard to just, it's hard to not talk about the same thing. Yeah. We plan on doing this indefinitely.
Starting point is 00:43:22 So inevitably, we might have to recycle stuff. But while we still have new crew, we'll see. If we started recycling stuff, we wouldn't get to know about Tanner. We got to get these new crew. I guess keep spreading the word of the new guys. Okay. Where do you live? Where are you from?
Starting point is 00:43:41 Born and raised Lincoln, Nebraska. I'm still here. I've had a few stents of travel and living other places, but I've gotten my way back to Lincoln. went to college in Hastings, which is just about an hour and a half away. Then I played professional indoor football for a season and played for like five, four or five different teams. And so I kind of bounced around for about one season. About four or five months. I'm sorry?
Starting point is 00:44:12 Oh, dang. Then one like one like arena. One season, yep. I was late to the camp. They actually pulled me out of, I was working at a max security prison, and they called me, then needed an alternate. So the way the indoor teams work, there's only so many guys on the roster. And when one of them gets called to go do a tryout, they've got to find somebody to fill a spot for the next game or two.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Okay. So, and that was me. So you were subbing pretty much the whole season, and just that's why you were bouncing around them. Yep. it'd be a fun year and then you kind of got to the end or it's just like I'm good I'm gonna I'm gonna start a career now yeah I got to the end and and I realized I was the youngest one which which is fine right obviously you're gonna be the youngest one you just got out of college and then but there are guys in their 30s there and I'm like man I can't imagine doing this for another 10 years you know and I mean it wasn't financially it wasn't bad but gosh, I can't imagine. I was so lucky to get out of playing, what, 13 years of contact sports with nothing but a knee scope. You know, I didn't have any breaks.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Nothing crazy happened. And I'm like, I got to get out of here. That's why they needed a sub because as you get over, stuff gets hard to recover from. Yeah, you were like 23, you know, a couple more years. You've been 23 going on 50. Yeah. And for what? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:50 for football. $500 game check. I'm good. Yeah. All right. Speaking of being over 50, what's that one piece of merch that you see Coach Mo wear and you haven't had a chance to get yet or any other crew? You know,
Starting point is 00:46:05 I like the shorts. I think the shorts are pretty cool. I know that's a pretty standard answer, but I'm not. Be specific, please, because they've had, they've had like 12 different variations. They're talking about lift shorts specifically or what you're talking about? I think there are there red, blue, and black.
Starting point is 00:46:20 Okay, so the new ones. Yeah. The new, the new charts. Yeah. Yeah, those are. Yeah, I have no idea about the other ones. Oh, yeah, that's true. Yes, you haven't really, if you only been around a year.
Starting point is 00:46:31 So, yeah, the shorts are nice. They don't do it. I mean, so we have to be getting a short drop in the lift hard live easy. Yeah, probably. But yeah, the new ones, they're definitely, I like them a lot better than the champion shorts for sure. I still like the champion shorts around the house, but the new ones are definitely my go-to gym shorts all day, every day. Okay. Do we want to do Hall of Fame status?
Starting point is 00:46:54 Do you even have your Hall of Fame card? I don't have a Hall of Fame card, but this will be number two. Oh, yeah. Okay. I always see. I feel like my picture with Coach Moe in 2021 counts. It does. It does because now you're both crew, right?
Starting point is 00:47:12 Yeah, I'll take it. Tanner might argue that you had to actively be crew when it was posted, but we'll let that. And then it'll be three this summer. at home gym con. Oh, hell yeah. Are you making it to lift hard live easy? You're not that far away. I was going to try to,
Starting point is 00:47:29 but with this trip coming up and then home gym, home gym con trip and then a two-month-old baby at home. Yeah, no, that makes sense. Yeah, say less. That tracks because home gym con is going to eat up a week of your life. So doing something that eats up
Starting point is 00:47:46 under three or four days of your life seven, well, 12 days before. Yeah, I get it. Yeah. That makes sense. But next year you should try for sure. If, if, uh, I think the, I'm going to bust out the kilton. The date has been set for Home Gymcon, 2027, breaking.
Starting point is 00:48:01 That was actually pretty cool. We did break that news last week. I've like, I have like, some of our friends kind of like, oh, it was really cool. I found that out. So it's basically the same week. I think it's like, whatever, the 27th or 28th, 29th or something. So I'm sure Liftard Levis is going to be in the middle of July again because it's been for four years. So it's going to be the same damn thing.
Starting point is 00:48:17 We're going to have to do Lyftard Levisy and Home GymCon less than 14 days apart again, but we'll see. But you'll have fun. We did, we do have you up there on the CTF, right? You got the old, you got the old girl up there. Now that's, as someone earlier, I think you literally said the term, you don't do the internet or something to that extent. How was Jim Radar for you and getting on Jim Radar?
Starting point is 00:48:41 It doesn't seem like something that might be in your bag. The social media portion of it, I don't know, like the commenting and all that stuff is just kind of one thing. Yeah. But the the gym radar equipment reviews and all that stuff, I think it's great. I think it's, you know, that thing would have been, you know, it's too bad they had the idea this year and not 10 years ago because that thing would be enormous now. Yeah. I couldn't get either of them to acknowledge that home gyms were a thing, you know, but they wouldn't have.
Starting point is 00:49:17 it took Tommy it took Tommy being in our like seeing home gyms for several years before he would even consider like he live in his townhouse in Sioux Falls for like two years I think with us jabbing him to get a damn home gym before he finally did so it was definitely they were they were late to the party on home well on home gym specifically Tanner obviously was into gyms but the home gym train they're uh I know I know when I built my home gym in like 2017 everybody looked at me like I was nuts yeah like you're going to live in your garage. It's $20 a month for insert gym here. You know, like you guys just don't understand. Yeah. I don't understand the time. Then I got to go to that stupid gym. Well,
Starting point is 00:50:00 speaking of Jim Radar, you are Paxton, you're going to want to edit this. You are Paxton stankth and conditioning. I do. I saw that. I was going to tell him. Is it really?
Starting point is 00:50:11 Yeah. And. At this point. Yeah. So we're looking at picking up. I love the baby swing in the rack. That is absolutely gorgeous. I have hit you with code unpaid,
Starting point is 00:50:23 which is the best I can do to acknowledge you have been on unpaid underrated. Counts as a quarter check mark. Quarter, yeah. Some of the highlights, I think. I definitely see the Mad Cow many horns. Those are awesome. I know you've got the Husker Lock Barbo callers. We'll talk more about those, I assume.
Starting point is 00:50:43 But, yeah, otherwise, it's a great looking gym. It's very big. Is that, you said that's your garage, right? That is actually a commercial space. Oh, exciting. And only do you allow other people or do you, is it just you? It's my full-time job. Oh, it is.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Okay, I knew that. Yep. I have like 35, 40 people that come in and lift every week. They are, all of them are over the age of, let's see, 45 except for one. So a lot in their 60, 70s and 80s. Now, did you raise all their prices when you became certified? Yeah, actually, I doubled them all and they all said no. No, that's fair.
Starting point is 00:51:27 I'm like, we'll just go back to the regular rate, guys. Don't worry. Now that we're Massonomic certified, I do have to increase everything by 5%. Just, you know, to, we have an error of legitimacy at this rate. The rack that that swing is hanging up in came out of Mark Ripato's gym and Wichita Falls. Oh, that's so cool. I went and picked that up down there. In like 18, he got new racks in the gym, and I went and got it.
Starting point is 00:51:55 Does he know there's a baby swing in it? How does he feel about that? I think if he listens to a podcast, I think this would be the first he'd hear about it. But I don't know. I think he'd be all right with it. I think so, too. Well, we do have some connections. His editor slash podcast runner Rusty is in the crew and he lived up a little easy.
Starting point is 00:52:15 So he's a friend, friend of the master. onomics podcast. His wife is strong. Yeah, storming, yeah. Well, Rusty's strong, too, but his wife is strong. Oh, yeah. All right. So what even makes it funnier this week when I ask about, how did you explain you
Starting point is 00:52:31 anew to people? So essentially, just like, how did you get your questionnaire filled out? But a follow up to that, or, well, before I, I guess it is. It's not a follow up if I cut you off. So we had some scheduling issues, and I had to get you switched around, just get some personal stuff come up. So next week's guest, Kyle, over nap time, was gracious enough to switch. and it was great.
Starting point is 00:52:48 And I sent him a screenshot, they kind of like confirming that I switched both of your guys' dates and he saw how many submissions you had. I think he had like five or six and you had like 16. And he was like, this motherfucker could really get 16 submissions.
Starting point is 00:52:59 He was like flabbergasted by that. And I was like, so how'd you go about getting those 16 submissions there? Tanner. I sent it to 16 people. So. That would be the highest return rate we've ever gotten. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:53:11 that's a 100% return rate. I probably, we're usually it. I probably could. have got all of my lifting clients to do one, but I figured it would water everything down. I kind of picked and chose a few people from each little group, smart, so that you didn't get a bunch of people giving you the same answers to everything. But I told everybody to fill out a questionnaire.
Starting point is 00:53:36 I was going to be on a podcast, and I've got a bunch of really supportive people in my circle, so it was pretty easy. That's good deal. Well, you've been on a little bit of a podcast tour, so this is, was this, did we get give you the most homework to do for being on a podcast. Yeah. Just hands down. Yeah, but it's a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:53:57 I'll take that as a lot of fun, though. We're the most prepared podcast. Yeah. This region. The most put together. Yeah, yeah. We'll appreciate you, Big Nate. He does a lot of work for us on the back end.
Starting point is 00:54:09 Are you familiar with least fun, most fun? I am. All right. You'll ask me a question and I tell you the least fun thing. about it, most fun thing about it. Absolutely. It's not either or. We've had a couple people butcher that one. So at least fun, most fun. Oh, what is the time? Most fun. Roast and coffee. That's the word. I was like, I was going to say, I only had coffee and I'm like, brewing's not the word I'm looking for. What's the word I'm looking for?
Starting point is 00:54:35 Like the process of roasting coffee. That, that big Nate wants to know. Yeah, that question comes from Big Nate. I'd say the most fun thing about it is a little bit of peace and quiet here and there but it is also so it smells so dang good too. It has to.
Starting point is 00:55:04 It smells so good. And the least fun thing, I don't know if there's a least fun thing about it now, But when I was doing it without my big roaster, I was doing it a pound at a time on my porch. And it would take 15, 20 minutes per pound. And I'm doing like 40 pounds a month. And so I'm like, that's like a part-time gig. But now I can do like 30 pounds an hour.
Starting point is 00:55:34 So I just cruise through it now. I like the sound of the roaster too, just that it's spinning and the crackling. I'll have to send you a video of mine. Yeah. Or is it not that hot air roaster. It's not peaceful. So it's a hot air roaster. So it forces hot air up to
Starting point is 00:55:53 up to the coffee beans and stirs them with hot air instead of like a drum roaster that kind of spins. Yeah, that's the one I'm used to. Like a big dish and the air shoots up from the bottom. And the beans just kind of stir in almost like an M shape. Cool. do you want to give you like a like three minutes to give me the story of how you got into the roasting anything about your process you might want to talk about and then just where they can find it um roasting coffee is word of mouth only so if you shoot me a message i'll send you something uh like i said i'm not really on the internet i think there's a facebook page for it but i don't think i've ever sold a pound of coffee on facebook uh the man i started roasting coffee because i it was so expensive to have expensive taste in coffee.
Starting point is 00:56:45 And I started roasting, it would have been in 2018 or 2019, in a little like electric popcorn popper on my porch that would roast about a quarter of a pound at a time. And when you roast coffee outside, your neighbors come over in one coffee. And it kind of snowballed into what it is today. So I think I'm at the only, I do. Am I the one that doesn't know what roast? Like I don't understand the whole concept of I don't drink coffee. I don't know shit about coffee.
Starting point is 00:57:15 Like so you're just buying like you're buying like uncooked bean. Like is there a coffee like the coffee beans grow on the ground or like I don't, I don't understand any of the. Yeah. I know that might be too much of a segment, but like I'm curious. Yeah, they grow in the ground. They're a plant just like anything else that they have a cherry on the outside.
Starting point is 00:57:35 They're cultivated, picked and dried in various different forms. And they come to me. and they look like a half of a pea, like a green pea. So they look just like a coffee bean. They're a little bit smaller. And they're green. They smell like,
Starting point is 00:57:50 you know, most people, they kind of smell like fresh cut grass. Okay. And then you heat them up in a specific manner. And then they turn into the delicious beverage. And then, yeah,
Starting point is 00:58:05 because you were gracious enough to send us a bag. Stephanie, my wife is an avid coffee drinker. she has been drinking her all week. She's got nothing but good things to say about it. So I appreciate that. I was just, I as someone that didn't know much about it,
Starting point is 00:58:18 I thought it'd be kind of interesting because I'm like, what does that mean? Well, I don't know what that means. And so difference from that is like, so big box stores commercially do this and just bag it up. But it's like, then it's just on a shelf for fucking a year,
Starting point is 00:58:29 whereas yours, you can just do it the day before and kind of eat it or drink it. Yeah. So the coffee's freshest towards the roast date, right? So if you're buying something at the grocery store, it probably was roasted six, eight months ago. And then, you know, vacuum packed and put into a canister and a bag. And there's kind of two or three separate markets for coffee, like green coffee. And most of your store chain buys like a lower quality coffee and they kind of mix it all together and roast it all.
Starting point is 00:59:04 You know, to keep it consistent between buckets of coffee you buy from the store. I can pick, let's see, 65 pound bags at a time. And I could order one today and have a 65 pound bag of it and then never see that particular coffee again. Yep. So it's, it's, uh, that's a fun part about roasting coffee too is you're always, you're always getting to try new stuff. Um, if you're like a whiskey or a beer drinker, it's the, it's the same. Yep. You know, you get a beer from one brewery could be a blonde and you get a blonde from a different brewery.
Starting point is 00:59:39 and it tastes completely different. The same with coffee. 40 seconds in the roaster can be like, I can take half the coffee out, and then 40 seconds later drop the rest of the coffee, and they would taste like two completely different cups of coffee. Just with the level of roast. Yeah. Is that where dark versus light?
Starting point is 01:00:01 Yes. So you're like cooking it longer versus that's pretty. I would have never known that. That's sniffing. One last question. Like beef too, right? Yep. One last thing to show my ignorance.
Starting point is 01:00:11 So like how, okay, so you get the, you get the fresh coffee beans. How long are those like, so from like when they get cut to when they're like rotten, what's your time? Like are they like how?
Starting point is 01:00:23 So the coffee that I get as long as I keep it stored, you know, airtight will last forever until I roast it. I'm forever like eight, 10 years, you know, it'll lose its, it's freshness,
Starting point is 01:00:37 but it won't ever go back. that. Neat. So the same with like your coffee on the shelf at the store. Once it's roasted, it's fine. But you really want to drink it within a couple of months from it being roasted. And then after that, most people dislike coffee
Starting point is 01:00:53 because it's stale and bitter. Well, that's just a sign of old coffee. It's not a sign of all coffee. Is the caffeine level affected whatsoever by anything you do as a roaster? Yes. Okay. I didn't.
Starting point is 01:01:06 Or like as dark? Yeah. When he reached out to me, he asked me what my favorite coffee was. And I said it was the Valhalla Java. I used to get Tim Horton's coffee exclusively. And then the first time I tried this, I think it was, I forget who makes it. Death Wish, I think makes it. And it was life-changing.
Starting point is 01:01:29 And it's a dark roast high caffeine content. And because the longer you roast something, correct me if I'm wrong, but the longer you roast the bean, the caffeine level goes down. the way I understand it that the darker the roast of coffee the more coffee beans go into the bag because they're lighter right the weight's lighter right so if the weight of each coffee because you'd have more coffee beans per cup right versus a lighter roast where if you where if you did 40 grams of green or regular light roasted coffee in a cup versus 40 grams of dark roasted coffee,
Starting point is 01:02:09 there's probably going to be more caffeine in that dark roast. That's fair. Yep. That makes sense. If I use the same amount of beans from the light roast to the dark roast, it would probably be close to the same, the way I understand it. No, that makes way more sense than what I had heard. Have you ever learned about the process of decaffeination? Oh, yeah, that's a thing. So I know they do a lot of that up south of South.
Starting point is 01:02:37 Dakota, um, in Canada. Yeah. Um, it's not just, it's not just like a fake coffee. It's still coffee, but just no caffeine. Yeah. It's always assumed it was like a fake coffee. I can, I, I should have looked into this a little more because I read that book called caffeine. Uh, we're talking earlier about reading fiction versus nonfiction. I don't read fiction anymore, right? So the last book I really like dove into and read hard was a book called caffeine, which talked about the socioeconomic and political ramifications of the largest unregulated drug in the world, which is caffeine. And they talked about decaffination. And if I recall correctly, it kind of uses like what your roaster does, but it pops it at the top,
Starting point is 01:03:17 which removes the caffeine from the bean. Yeah, they do a lot of different things. I'm not super well versed on what they do to decathinate it. but I do know that it goes from the country of origin to Canada. And they do a lot of it there. I'll see if I can find the book. Back to country of origin. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:43 So then it's more expensive. It's like twice as much. And that's stupid. Decafany copy. I'll see if I can find the book and really kind of send that out there if I can learn, relearn about it. As someone that doesn't personally like coffee, I enjoyed this 10 minute segment.
Starting point is 01:03:59 And I hope Nate did too, buddy. because we turned this into a full-blown, but I was, it was all, that's neat shit. I love learning new stuff. So that was very cool. I'm down. I'm here for it. Okay.
Starting point is 01:04:11 So we're going to skip that one. And we're going to ask Discord's favorite question. Do you have a favorite muscle or muscle group to work? Um, I like training my back. Yeah. I think that that's a long. longevity muscle.
Starting point is 01:04:32 So all the exercises that we do to train our back are squats and deadlifts, and then you have some other things too. But those things are going to keep us all out of nursing homes. So I'm going to be the strongest 70-year-old I've ever met, hopefully. Do you have a favorite movement to work that, the back group? I love deadlifting. Yeah, me too. I love deadlifting.
Starting point is 01:04:57 I don't I don't do a whole lot of I like front squatting but I wouldn't call out a back What if you had to pick one that wasn't a compound like what what's an accessory non compound related that you would say is the best back is it for most you know What's what's what's what's the upper body would you call would you call? Like a halting deadlift an accessory or a rack pole? No, I'd still call that a compound. Yeah, it still is a compound and then I do snatches and clean and jerks. So I'm compound, compound, compound. Yeah. So no, no, no, no no no low cable rows or, uh, lap pounds in your gym. I've got a lap low down, but it's a spud pulley.
Starting point is 01:05:40 And I can't. That'll segue. Occupation we can dig into your training. Yeah. I, I, I adopted T bar rose. Cause I love the, I love the lap. Go ahead. Oh, I was going to say because I, assuming you just got the landmine with your, uh, your Viking press, so you probably have the ability to do that. I don't know if you always, oh, I've always had a landmine,
Starting point is 01:06:02 but I just, I hated it until I got the Viking press. And then I was like, well, now I'm using it. It's out in the gym again. So I'm going to start incorporating T bar rows. Are you using the Viking press to T bar? I'm trying to,
Starting point is 01:06:11 no, I have a, I have a, they, they denied it on gym radar, but I do have a, um, I can do snatch grip, uh, wide grip or low grip, um, uh, rows with it. Re-s submit it.
Starting point is 01:06:23 I know there was some, well, It's because it's from a company that doesn't exist anymore. So finding the website with a picture is near impossible. It's not even on the defunct website. You can always submit it as a DIY slash custom T-bar row handle. Yeah, I could. Yeah, I could, but nobody can buy it, so there's no sense.
Starting point is 01:06:40 Like, I'm not going to review a piece of metal with handles. It does what it's supposed to do. It's not shitty like my SSP bar was. You got to get rid of that thing. I can't. Nobody wants it. It was on Kijiji for like a month. One guy was like...
Starting point is 01:06:54 The funny thing is, so they both listen to the, well, I'm going to, I should spoil it. I would do, if I hadn't spoiled it, it would have been funny. But like, so what they do with the stringers. So make that shitty SSB the stringer of Canada. Just anytime you go to Steve's or fucking cams, that's like staying in their driveway. Just unload it from your car, like hide it behind their gym and just go home. Like, it's just there now. Like, that has to happen.
Starting point is 01:07:22 That would be so funny. Like, they do both. Like, that would be better than me putting a bag of dicks in someone's gym bag at lift a live easy. He's just stuck with this 45 pound piece of shit. So mean. All right. Back to Tanner here.
Starting point is 01:07:37 Occupation, as little as much as you want, probably more on the coaching, because that's your, I know you do. Yep. Okay. So, yeah, let's, let's hear about that. Like, you know, how long you've been doing that, your philosophy. You can talk about the gym is a little bit more if you want. Just let's hear about what you do, as little as much as you want.
Starting point is 01:07:53 And obviously your business that you acquire too, let's not bury the lead. You know, you can even talk about that first and we can, you know, plug that. Whatever whatever you desire. Well, I run a gym, own run a gym, Paxton Strengths Conditioning in Lincoln, Nebraska. We're by appointment only, you know, it's a private gym where everybody has a rack and a bar. and I teach, you know, over 40-year-old people on how to get strong, and we do a lot of squats, overhead presses, bench presses, deadlifts, kind of starting strength adjacent.
Starting point is 01:08:36 And that's my full-time gig. I get to take my one-year-old with me to work every day, which has been awesome. We got a two-month-old now. My wife goes back to work in August, and he'll go with. with me as well. Oh, wow. I get to train. I get to train everybody's grandparents. I know, right? I train everybody's grandparents and parents. So they all think it's hilarious watching me run around with my head cut off all day, taking care of kids. So it's a lot of fun. I like to think that we're like one of the only like black iron gyms in Lincoln. And it just happens to be
Starting point is 01:09:17 full of a bunch of people that are just there to get strong. And they're not there to, post videos or or get on Instagram or nothing man they're just they're in there to get strong we don't have Wi-Fi or by we're in an area where the cell service isn't great I mean they're just there getting strong that's it
Starting point is 01:09:36 so just a word of mouth then I'm obviously so you're selling the classes and personal training essentially you know starting strength adjacent just that seems like it'd be hard to get a bunch of 60 year olds to come in and want to do that without some kind of like like who's finding your clients like how is that like how are they getting to your door and reaching
Starting point is 01:09:56 out to you right so it snowballed um pretty quick i i started the gym in like 2017 and it was just a um like a part time after work gig i did a uh a job i really hated before that um and i did it for like a year and a half, I had some friends that I trained in my grandparents. And then I got one person from the community to come in and train. And then they were like, oh, I told my eight coworkers about you. And I was like, oh, cool. And then they all came to the gym. And I had one bar.
Starting point is 01:10:45 I've got to get more shit. Yeah. And then two of them were like, hey, I told them. like four or five more people. And I'm like, oh, okay, yeah, I got to just like get back on and order more stuff. And then that, you know, the gym kind of equaled the income of my job at the time. And I hated that job so much that I was just like, I'm out. Like today, I've got two weeks paid vacation.
Starting point is 01:11:14 I'm gone. And since then, I've tripled in size. so it's been it's been a lot of fun and started roasting coffee in there i don't uh i think it supports my love for coffee and then gives me the opportunity to introduce people to coffee at a much cheaper price than what they're buying it at at you know even a local roaster even though i'm the first person to buy bags of coffee anywhere i'm at from local roasters you don't actually save any money because you're kind of like a you know you Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:51 You like to consume other people's products as much as you like to consume yours. It's almost like a labor of love that you're trying to spread your good, cheap coffee while spending $50 for some bougie bag. Right. And so I don't put, I don't get super fancy bags. I don't do super fancy labels. I get the best quality coffee that I feel I can sell to people and roast it to the best of my ability. and introduce people to coffee that was not mass produced in a factory.
Starting point is 01:12:25 Nice. So farmer's market style is what I've always kind of said. Nice. When did you go from your, oh, sorry, go ahead. Yep, sorry. Go ahead. Nope. You go sideways there.
Starting point is 01:12:35 I was going to be like, so when did you go from your grandparents, like one barbell gym? Is this the gym you're currently in? Is that location one, basically? Or have you like scaled, scaled up as you've grown? own. Like how many times have you had to move your gym? So I started it in my grandmother's garage. She was client one. And charge your grandmother? No, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:13:04 This guy. No, I'm just teasing you. No, I did. So just like everything, I mean, I did, I trained a lot of people for free and I roasted a lot of coffee for free for a long time. That's why you still had to work your job. And then it started paying. Let's see. So I moved it to a one-stall little apartment garage. And I had two racks, three bars, and a bunch of iron plates. And then I moved it from there.
Starting point is 01:13:33 I rented a house of the two-stall garage. And I had four racks, like six bars, a bunch of stall mats, a bunch of plates. Then I moved from there to my first commercial space. and then got a noise complaint like five months in, and the gal that owned the building was like, yeah, you got to move. And I was like, uh, right? So then I found,
Starting point is 01:13:57 I refer to it as the prison gym. We were right by the state penitentiary. Um, and that was a great spot. Uh, it was like a big, there were two great big rooms there. And I had,
Starting point is 01:14:11 what, six racks, probably seven, eight bars, a bunch of plates, a bunch of bumper plates and then deer when all that stuff was going on the landlord there kind of wanted to circle the wagons and kind of keep all of their stuff to themselves so they told me to basically kick rocks and i found the spot that i'm in now i've been here for five years
Starting point is 01:14:35 and it's not too far from where i grew up where my parents live so both my parents live weights, my sister, my two little brothers lift weights. So it's been a lot fun. It's awesome. How far from home is it? Like from your house? Like door to door? Like 10 minutes. There you go. That's awesome. Yeah. It's the dream right there. Yeah. It's not bad at all. Yeah. It's not bad at all. You did the coaching, even doing the coaching thing for, you know, since 18 and all that. And growing your business, paying the bills with that, do the coffee on the side. And then you had an opportunity for on your laps in the past year or so. You want to, tell that story and what your new obsession and hustle is? Well, I don't know if it's a new obsession.
Starting point is 01:15:19 I don't know if we ever really thought we'd get into the gym equipment sphere. We didn't even know that there was a gym equipment market until recently. Until just three months ago with Jim Radar. I can't believe it. People have home gyms other than me. I thought I was the only one. No one's talked about this on the internet before. Not one person.
Starting point is 01:15:39 What's a Reddit? Yeah. The, yeah, he just called me. I think I was probably pretty far down his list. He was really adamant on wanting somebody from Nebraska and wanting to keep things in Nebraska. And he just got to us and my wife and I didn't really have to talk about it very long. For anyone unfamiliar, though, do you want to lead what the product is first maybe? Just so I don't want people to listen to the whole story and not know what the fuck we're talking about.
Starting point is 01:16:09 Yeah. I got you. Yep, the Husker Power Walks. the barbell collars. Yeah, he called us. A lot of Mo's videos, a lot of Jake's videos, more recently my videos. Soon to be my video, Carps using them. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:25 Yeah, those guys have been awesome. He had him a week ago. Yeah. Those, all of them guys have been awesome. You know, it was, it was kind of crazy. There was like the first people I met when I built the Instagram page were like five super influential people. So that was kind of cool. No, these are these are callers that I'd always used.
Starting point is 01:16:48 But. And I'd always purchased them from Paul. Like I would need a pair. Like as the gym grew, I needed a ball. I needed some collars. I needed a rack. So I would go to Paul, get a set of callers. You bought calls for him like 10, 10 separate times over the course of a decade or something.
Starting point is 01:17:05 That's actually a pretty cool story. And he called me and basically gave us a. price and just a storage unit full of boxes. And here we are. And so it's been a lot of, for somebody who didn't spend a lot of time on the internet, and not very technologically savvy, it has been a lot of work. But a lot of fun. So if you don't mind, I'll just kind of to step in, if that's okay, Tanner.
Starting point is 01:17:34 So anybody not familiar, I have had a chance to use them because Cam over at the Damme Institute did have a pair. and they're not your average collars. What's really cool about these is they are a twist collar that are insanely strong. They're a little larger than regular collars. And, you know, being used to spring lock or, you know, even the ones that we got from Assonomics, those are the ones I've always used. I've also got like circle ones.
Starting point is 01:18:02 I had collars before. I've never seen these. And what they, they are essentially, cylinders that you put on and you twist. What's really cool about that is they fit on any size bar belt, right? Whether it's your standard 2 inch or 1 inch, do they fit on 1 inch? No, they do not. Okay, so it's just whether it's like 1.8 to like 2.2 problem.
Starting point is 01:18:24 Yeah, so like your AXA bar or your Camberd bar or whatever, like they fit on all of them. They are gorgeous. I really like the idea of using them to space out the deadlift bar to kind of recreate the mammoth bar and things like that. And, you know, just for people wondering, they're owned by 22 gyms on the gym radar. Okay. They've been reviewed 21 times. And you have a average rating of 4.97. So it does look like the crew is loving these.
Starting point is 01:18:52 There's one person that gave it. I think that lowered that point three. And, you know, I read their review. It is what it is. But like, everybody gave it a five. Like, everybody that has these bars, except for maybe one or two people gave this five-star rating. So if you're not familiar with this product, go take a look at Jim Radar. You've sent a couple custom ones out. I do want to get into how they're manufactured
Starting point is 01:19:16 because how you're doing custom ones is kind of wild. But yeah, so check them out on Jim radar. They are the Husker Powerlock Powerlock Barbell callers. How are you manufacturing these? Like how do you, are they 3D printed in the way that like you got Keith's orange ones or did you actually send some? He literally hand-painted those. That's amazing. Did you send somebody one with a bite out of it? No, that was AI. That was AI, okay. You got deep faked.
Starting point is 01:19:44 Yeah, I did. Unfortunately. So their injection mold, which is something that I've had to learn a whole bunch about. Luckily, my father has a degree in that, which is kind of sweet.
Starting point is 01:19:59 Yeah, that's a lucky chance to have that knowledge. Yeah, but he also, yeah, now works on airplanes. So he doesn't use that. anymore. But he knows all about like the injection mold process and all that stuff. All of the ones that I currently have were there when I purchased the company. So I have not had to go out and manufacture anymore.
Starting point is 01:20:22 Okay. But full circle, they're manufactured like a mile away from where I went to college in Hastings, Nebraska. I own the only injection mold that makes all the parts for them. Are they at the factory? actually, because in a lot of places, like, well, like the, you own them, but like the factory stores it until your next batch, right? Yep, yep, he stores the, with his plates.
Starting point is 01:20:46 Yep, he stores the mold for me. I'll actually get to go out and see it maybe the later part of this year. That'll be when I make it out there to go. We're testing, like, color, colored plastic in the mold. You don't rely on painting. It'll just be able to do a couple of colors. Yeah, but since the two black pieces are different plastic, we're making sure that they end up the same color. You know, if I'm going to get red ones made, I want to make sure both pieces are the same color.
Starting point is 01:21:22 And if not, I have a way to coat them. Well, just check with them to make sure that you can make a video when you're there on how they're made. Oh, yeah. Because like that, I think would definitely be very interesting to a lot of people. But like some of us do, and it would be probably a good video to see. Yeah, if you're allowed, right? some stuff's proprietary. They might say you're not allowed to film here like they did to grant. But yeah. So they gave you a price. You cut a check. You get you get the keys to a
Starting point is 01:21:46 warehouse and the mold is a patented project. It's probably. It is not. I don't imagine. Nope. Yeah. But it's it's so intricate. Don't let rogue hear that. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. It's also something that you said it's been around for like 40 years, right? Or 30. 40 years. Yep. They've been making them for 40 years. The same guy. Same guy. Yep, same two guys have been making them for 40 years. And I think the ones that I currently have were made in 21. So there's like a little bit of machining that needs to be done on them when I get them.
Starting point is 01:22:22 But it's pretty, it's not minimal, but it takes me like, like maybe five, 10 minutes per pair to get them all assembled. To take the pieces in the warehouse. Because you just have like a box. To take the pieces, yep. Yeah, because you have like. Take the pieces from the warehouse, drill the holes out. and then kind of smooth out some edges and oil them and put them together. It's not bad.
Starting point is 01:22:44 Well, I mean, like a few years, you know, your, you're, you're, your two-year-old will be old enough to start helping a little bit. Get that. Oh, yeah. Make it a family endeavor, yep. I drug him back there with me one day in his high chair, because I have a high chair at the gym. And I gave him like some, there's like some factory defected pieces.
Starting point is 01:23:04 They're kind of oblong shaped. And I gave him those. and I'm hammering away on something. And he's like, dad, a hammer. And I was like, yeah,
Starting point is 01:23:12 you can have a hammer. No big deal. And not really, you know, we're all sleep deprived around here. I gave my one year old son a 16 ounce hammer. And, and he threw it in his mouth.
Starting point is 01:23:27 Of course. Yeah. At me. Of course. Hit me in the shin. And it was like just the immediate karma of that. I was like, God damn.
Starting point is 01:23:35 It's, yeah. I, gave my kid a weapon and he used it on me shocking yeah it's just like me just like me gosh dang it but i talk more about like someone not you but i'm curious of like did you know how the guy initiatedly made them like do you know like the origin like who who makes a barbell collar 40 years ago like that's that's wild yeah um how do two people who hold 40 patents and agricultural equipment make barbell collars that's the you know really they're just you know really they're
Starting point is 01:24:07 They were inventors and engineers and they solved problems for people. And there was a guy in a small town that had a box full of busted barbell collars and he took them to them. And they designed something that doesn't break. And it stood the test of time. You know, it stood. I've got a pair at the gym from the university where they had them tested. That was the original one. like it came out of the university like two years ago.
Starting point is 01:24:39 I mean, I'd been there for 36, 37 years. Wow. And they used it the whole time. And they weigh nothing. Like they add nothing. It's awesome. A pound and a half between the two of them, right?
Starting point is 01:24:51 Yeah. So it's, most barbells are 44 pounds anyway. So if you're using it on a regular barbell. Yeah. So it evens it all out. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:59 My question. Oh, and then a relevant thing. The, I probably the biggest, the coolest, the, the, Where it's cooled for Strongman is you can throw it on an axle or whatever because it is modular. But that would not have been even an inkling of their ideas in the 80s when they made it. So to me, what sets it apart to be like kind of it's a reason to buy it was something that wasn't even an original idea of it.
Starting point is 01:25:26 Yeah, they, you know, machining then wasn't as good as it is now. So when they built the collar, you know, you'd get a. shipment of barbells to a high school and one of them would be 1.8 like you said earlier and one would be 1.9 and if you had a spring collar it was only going to work on some of those bars yep and so they made something uh like a compression fitting like you'd use in like uh plumbing they kind of took it and i wish i would have brought the prototypes to show you guys but i'll take some pictures of them when i'm back at the gym and you'll be really happy they went with the one that they did. They did make some metal ones at one point,
Starting point is 01:26:10 but they were, they'd bind up on themselves too much. You know, they'd get bound up and you'd have to hammer on them a little bit. I'd damn near couldn't get them off the other day. And I was like, oh, I'm twisting the wrong way.
Starting point is 01:26:20 I'm like a dummy. Yep. Yep. And, yeah, and if they ever do like two years down the line, if they are hard to get on and off, you can just back that screw out
Starting point is 01:26:32 and unscrew the pieces. and just re-oil them. You can use like a 3-1 oil or a WD40 or I use 10W40 motor oil. Oh, that's smart. And a paint brush and just a real thin paintbrush of it. And good to go. People that keep them outside, like in their non-climate control garage, the little metal piece on the inside once in a while will get a little like calcification on it.
Starting point is 01:27:02 And you can just take a green scotch bright pad to that and scrubbed right off. That thing's like, you know, like an eighth of an inch thick that piece of metal is. And just scrub it off and that's good to go. Exciting. Yeah. It's a really cool product. So hopefully some of our listeners head over to is there a website for that? Yep.
Starting point is 01:27:25 Husskerpowerwock.com. If you want painted ones, you just DM me and we'll figure. that out. Get a color. That's nice of you. Figure out. How do the orange ones hold up, Keith? Good.
Starting point is 01:27:38 I haven't. I mean, I've used them three times. They look. So they look. They pop on the, on the black law kind of like in the shadows. Because like the last couple times I've been doing a medley.
Starting point is 01:27:48 So the video is pretty far out. And there's just like, they just they pop. So those are, that was sick. I didn't, I was, I was not expecting a custom color when you,
Starting point is 01:27:56 you send me the pair. So I was like, oh, man, this is badass. So I was happy. They'll probably live in their garage. I think they're, I think as sick as they look on the log,
Starting point is 01:28:04 they're just going to be the dedicated log callers for now. I do have axles and barbells out there too, so it's good that it's, you know, modular. I can put it on anything. But I'm excited to get more use out of them. And I know the ones that you sent me were custom, but don't spoil the surprise. I should actually have those tomorrow or the beginning of next week.
Starting point is 01:28:24 I think there's probably only like two people that know what yours look like too. Sounds fancy. The, yeah, the, when I first cleaned mine when we bought the company, because I'm like, oh, shit, Paul's going to come here. And he's going to work at these. Yeah, I never cleaned them. I never did anything to them. And those things lived in three different not climate control garages and then two different commercial spaces.
Starting point is 01:28:57 And I'd never had any issues with them for, I mean, eight years. And I took them all apart and cleaned them up. And I'm like, wow, these things work way better when they're cleaned. Go figure. I was like, there's no way. Do you have stuff on your website of like a, you know, a FAQ kind of or maybe even print up. I know you have the gym radar card.
Starting point is 01:29:17 It might not be the, I mean, it's another thing to do. But like a, yeah, a, that'll be a maintenance card. Yeah. Yep. I have that on the Instagram. I have the picture of it. but I want to do a video but I want to wait until I get one in bad shape
Starting point is 01:29:34 so that way I can show somebody like how bad they can look and then clean them all up makes sense so and Paul was getting maybe one or two like cleanings a year where somebody would send them back and and he would clean them up so the next time I get one of those
Starting point is 01:29:52 I'll take a video from start to finish on how to clean them up yeah that's a good idea I think on Jake's episode, you'd mention how many, like, all time they've sold or something. And it was like a pretty staggering number. Yeah, nuts amount. Yeah. They've sold a ton of them. So it's crazy how they are.
Starting point is 01:30:10 Are you trying to get into the colleges and the high schools and everything? Like, what market do you chase right now? Are you just trying to get your feet under you first before you commit to a 500 unit order or something crazy? Yes, we have about 1,600 pairs at the gym. That's where all of this is. way it's at the gym. The stock that you bought from the guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:32 And all of the manufacturing for me on my end is there. Pairs or units? Like, like, like, so 800 pairs? 600 pairs. So 32 will probably be more like, 4500 parts. That's like a garage bay with the material. It's nuts.
Starting point is 01:30:47 He showed me all this stuff and I'm like, I, I'm going to have to clear. I'm going to have to get rid of my couch because I have like boxes stacked up. but they sold basically straight to high schools and colleges for 39 years. And I figured the word of mouth was already there. And when he first called me about buying this company, I'm like, man, the people who need equipment that lasts forever aren't people that are publicly funded, right?
Starting point is 01:31:22 They're people that buy things with their money that, they earned while they were at work, right? And this is like a true, like you buy it, you set it, and you forget it. Like, you buy it once and I'm 33 years old and I'll be servicing warranties until I'm an old man unless we sell it before that. But I know I mentioned to Jake that like Paul and Lou had this place for, had this company for 40 years and in order for it to be 80 years old when I'm It has to be 41 years old and 42 years old and 43 years old.
Starting point is 01:32:01 So I have just, that's kind of the way I've operated the gym too, is just I don't get caught up with this great big end goal. I'm, you know, the same with my training. I'm just so like incremental in everything that we do that it, I'm looking at home gym con right now. and then hopefully after home gymcon i have some workable prototypes and then it just becomes the next thing how many units are you planning on bringing to home gymcon because i could if it's less i don't see a world where i mean you should be able to walk away and sell 50 to 100 like maybe like i can't imagine you don't sell at least 50 pairs but like i don't know worst case at a couple dozen like i don't there's going to be a couple thousand people there if you get a 1% return that's
Starting point is 01:32:53 Yeah. Yeah, I was thinking probably like 140. I know I've had about a dozen people reach out about either custom ones or saving them a pair. I'm going to do, we're going to be on the platforms for the Strongman competition. Which I got, yep, I got that worked out with Kurt, which is sweet. And then I've got, I've got that worked out with Kurt, which is sweet. And then I've got, But there's a grip strength competition. We're going to be a prize for that. And then I think I've got three or four other booths that are going to display them to. So that'll be pretty exciting. I get to meet all the people that I've been talking to on the phone for the last six months. Are you still working out what you're bringing as far as you're being able to display it at your own booth?
Starting point is 01:33:49 I know you had asked me a couple months ago for some advice on that. I didn't really have. I shared the best I could, but it's like he kind of got to, what do you, do you have an end? Do you have a plan right now? Are you still working that up? Yeah, I'm thinking I have a custom, uh, axle bar getting made, um, by one of the booths near me. And so I want to have that at the booth for sure. And it'll show that it works on actual bar.
Starting point is 01:34:16 And then I have, I'm going to do like a loading pin, I think, with some weights on. on it and then I'm going to screw the power lock down onto the loading pin and have people pick it up by the by the power lock that's smart kind of like a grip strength deal that's actually really smart and then maybe a barbell I think it's kind of assumed that the collar is going to work on a regular barbell yeah that's yeah um and and then like all they'll be at other booths too so people can see them used on all the other implements. A suggestion, I think, would be an axle, it's not going to be very heavy. And some dumbass is going to go and, like, mess with the collar.
Starting point is 01:35:00 Or if the collar gets, if it's on too tight and they try to untwist it, I could see the axle popping out of whatever display you have. So either have some weight on the axle or have it secured with like some C, some clamps or like, like just a bracket. Because I can see some dumbass hurting themselves when the 20 pound axle comes flying at them. Oh, yeah. This is going to be a 90 pound axle. Oh, okay. Then you're good. Who then all is armed assassin making that? Belmere.
Starting point is 01:35:28 I'm pretty sure Belmere's going to be able to get it made. He's super busy, but we have a mock-up of it. It's going to be two inches of solid steel. Nourled. It's going to be badass. It sounds like it. And I'm going to take that shit home and start. And then the next time I talk to you guys, my accessory,
Starting point is 01:35:51 exercise that you guys badgered me about will be axle deadlift's I still don't think he knows what it not a compound movement is yeah but um yeah and we'll have some hats I got a hat made kind of like the gorgeous Peterbilt logo yeah and then how do you pronounce that term one more time the Peter Biel yeah that's what we call it the other tanner doesn't say it like that but uh you know he anyway. You know how those guys are.
Starting point is 01:36:24 Yeah, they stay so weird. They stay so funny. I think we'll have some shirts. We'll have some, probably some banners. We'll see if they can get done or some flax. Have a, you have like something to display what your Instagram is. I think some kind of imaging,
Starting point is 01:36:39 like even if it's just a little $20 thing off Amazon where it's like a little display that just has, I mean, I think everyone does QR codes, but you don't even have to, I mean, it doesn't even have to be a QR code, just only because like, your Instagram and your website is slightly different names because like the way it's worded,
Starting point is 01:36:55 the opposite. So like not the easiest, I think for like to help with your brand recognition and stuff. Like having something they can just like, you know, look at and see because they find you on social media. Because at the end of the day, I, I've, social media has to drive sales. So you want to get your social media following up as best you can. But I think I have the, yeah, the QR code on business cards. Yeah, that helps for sure. So I got a couple thousand of those.
Starting point is 01:37:20 those and then we'll have all kinds of stickers. I've got some custom ones for Home GymCon too. So that'll be a lot of fun. Love it. I love it. I know this episode was supposed to be about you, but I figure, you know,
Starting point is 01:37:34 we're riffing about your company. So it's what your passion is right now. So we didn't want to not spotlight that. We can get in some other stuff, but is there anything else before we move on that you want people to know about the callers or the future or the past or the current that, you know, they think valid information.
Starting point is 01:37:50 they need to know. No, I think we covered most of it. And if not, I mean, any questions you have about them, you just shoot me a message or if you have any ideas on how to display them. Just shoot me a message. I'm pretty responsive with all the stuff I have going on. You know, Joey said they're big. The collars are big, but they,
Starting point is 01:38:12 the only part that needs to be on the bar is like the first couple of inches. So the rest of it can just hang off. So it's not the workable portion of the collar is only, you know, two and a half inches long. So that's just about the same size as any other collar. Do you know why they made the shaft so long then? Because there are others like not ones that are specific to being able to be different sizes. But like there are other companies that have spin locks that are only like two inches long but they only work on a barbell. So like what is, do you know why initially they were like, let's make this eight inches long?
Starting point is 01:38:46 Or well, it's probably like six inches long. I don't know. Yeah, it's five. But it was usability. So they made them shorter, but you couldn't grab them. I mean, when they're up against the plate,
Starting point is 01:39:00 when they're up against the plate, you like trying to grab a collar that was that big and try to screw it together. Yeah. I do have, the video doesn't get posted, but I do have an idea to change this piece to where as you're,
Starting point is 01:39:16 it's obviously going to be bigger around, but it's, going to screw over the top of it. Mm, yeah. Okay. And it will be used in this direction. So this direction would be on the bar first. And when I had the rubber piece inlaid in it, it would back off like a quarter of an inch because it was so, like that rubber would grab the bar and it wrenched it down so tight
Starting point is 01:39:44 that the collar kind of backed off of the plates. I do know. But when you, yeah, I did notice that. When you turned it around. Go ahead. I'm sorry. Oh, no, I was just like, because it took me. I had a little bit of a learning curve because I did put the skinny, because like, it made
Starting point is 01:39:59 more sense to me to have the skinny side there because the other way I did it, when you tighten it down, it does back. It's not maybe not an eighth or it's definitely not a quarter, but it's just like, yeah, it's less than an eighth a little bit. It does back off the plates just to see hair. And I was like, is that right? And it just didn't sit well, and I tried it the other way. Like, well, this definitely isn't right. So it's got to be that way.
Starting point is 01:40:16 It's not so, it's literally. it's literally not a problem. It just it caught me off guard. I was like, okay, I get it, but that's how it gets tight. It has to suck into itself,
Starting point is 01:40:24 just the smallest amount. As they age a little bit, that goes away. Okay. So it's just pretty tight from the manufacturing. But what the competition callers do, you know, you tighten it down to the bar,
Starting point is 01:40:37 and then you spin the deal into the plates and it kind of holds them up. I think that if I can fix that, this will act as both things at the same time. when you screw this in, it will push the collar up against the plates. That's a problem for future, Tanner. So you got, you got 1500 units. We got to sell as is.
Starting point is 01:41:01 So we might just edit all. There's no, there's no future innovation until we give these 1,500 units sold for you. And then we can start talking about other stuff. So, Nate, just go ahead and edit all that out. And everything works good on them as is. And there just might be some. improvements in the some some additions in the future but for now the product works great arts and crafts only or painting only um i think we're up to rapid fire some segments
Starting point is 01:41:27 some some some topics uh yeah i can't believe you're big you're strong that's crazy you you what's that sorry i just oh i just yeah it's we've been going this long and it feels like we we literally talked about coffee for 20 minutes i think hell yeah it was all fun and we talked about his company for half hour like i'm cool with it although so played football in college big strong guy. I actually saw your, are you six, five, were you actually six five, 280 or was that as slightly inflated stets? Are you like six two and a half?
Starting point is 01:41:55 I think I'm like almost six four. So I'm like six three and a quarter. Gotcha. So definitely not six five, but no. It worked good on film because like the guy I played next to was like five ten. That's a short guy. That's a
Starting point is 01:42:11 short guard for college, but yeah, he was. What level? Because I was like, uh, the college you said you went to. What division class level is that? NAI. So it's a, I don't even know what that stands for,
Starting point is 01:42:24 but it's like division two. Oh, yeah. So, like not division one football has changed so much in the last 20 years. Like it used to be like D1, D2, D3, and then they've been recalled everything. So when I'm like,
Starting point is 01:42:37 what fucking level is this? I'm so confused. Like, you went to college, but like what? All right. So you played football at a pretty high level. You've been coached. for several years, got the coffee.
Starting point is 01:42:51 All right, just keep scrolling down until I can get into something else here. I don't want to completely, like, negate the 16 people that submitted stuff, but we also can't really go more than another half hour max. Yeah, I will say, like, the people that did submit,
Starting point is 01:43:08 appreciate you. They love you. Like, every single one of them made sure to point out how good of a person you are and how much they appreciate you. And I will say like it's not very often people go out of their way to make sure we know that. Well, I know my wife was one of them. So that was cool to hear.
Starting point is 01:43:27 That was one of the ones. There was more than that. Took the starting strength certification but didn't get certified. What was that about? No. I did not pass the deadlift portion. And so when I got home, like that was like I got home from that. like a written test you're saying?
Starting point is 01:43:49 No, the coaching platform. So I did not pass the platform evaluation where they basically make you demonstrate that you can coach all the movements. Okay. So you're like, you're like coaching like a mock client in front of people that are judging you then,
Starting point is 01:44:05 essentially? Yeah, you're coaching somebody else that went to the seminar. Okay. So whether they're there to coach or whether they're just there to learn, you're just coaching some random person that showed up to the seminar.
Starting point is 01:44:16 Well, that's not fair. You should be able to vote for yourself. Yeah. I know, right. But yeah, when I got home, literally, all the people in my family are like, you said you needed more experience, so we're here to train. So I got a lot of good, valuable experience out of all that. I mean, it might have been for the best, though, because if you were under your pigeonhole and just being a starting strength gym, I'm sure there's problems with that. But there's also got to be negatives.
Starting point is 01:44:45 and you're, not that starting strength doesn't also, like, like, Grant caters to a lot of elderly people and stuff, but it sounds like doing your own thing kind of might not be the worst thing. And it's obviously, seems like you, you literally have a rapport with, uh, with the guys over there, right, at starting strength. I mean, you don't you on RIP's podcast or RIP talked about your, uh, caller, which is, like, did you just, so did you send him a pair and you were like, you failed me, but here you go. Like, here's a, like, like, yeah.
Starting point is 01:45:13 Did my, do, do my deadlift callers? I don't think Rip is somebody you take revenge on. I sent him a pair hoping that I would just hear from him. Because I've been in a position to meet a bunch of people in like the professional gym industry. Right. And I basically just sent each of them a pair of collars when I think before we even, the ink was dry. And hoping I would hear. hear from each of them. And within a couple of weeks, all of them called me. And they're like,
Starting point is 01:45:51 where are these made at? Where did you get these? I had these at this college that I worked at 20 years ago and I never saw them again. Or, and then Rip told a story about having two or three sets in the gym when he bought it. And he said they were there forever and tell something happened to him. And he didn't think they were being made anymore. So it was really cool. He called me. He was like, I think we're going to do a commercial about the caller, send me what you want me to say. And then he's like, he called me back the next day. And he was like, I think we're just going to do a whole podcast on this. And I was like, oh, I was like, oh, I need to see if my computer turns on.
Starting point is 01:46:31 So. Like, I know we've been really focusing on them because like, I just, I kind of want to point out, it's so cool and smart of you to take it out of the idea of selling strictly to school. and putting them in the hands of gym owners. Like, that's, that's an incredibly smart move. Home gym owners. Yeah, home gym owners. Well, I mean, I'm sure he's not going to say no to commercials, but, like, yeah, yeah, yeah, but
Starting point is 01:46:56 like that's a very smart move. Yep. I'm sure those old dudes that sold you didn't fucking understand there were home gyms. Because based on what you're telling me, like, oh, I found these in a college years ago and I haven't seen them since. Like, that's not fair to the Husker lock, right? So, so very, very smart move. Um, uh, we got to get into something.
Starting point is 01:47:18 We got to get into some point. Let's go to FMK. Um, if anyone wants to know more about Tanner, he's been on three other podcast in the last couple months. Go listen to them too. Um, they're probably all talking about Husker Power Locks, but here we are digging into a little bit more meat and potatoes. But I think we talked about the callers good bit. Uh, FMK. So I'm going to give you a three things and you got to rank them for me, which one you want to F,
Starting point is 01:47:39 which one you want to marry, which one are you going to kill. I'm going to go with where I just had it. All right. So it's a good suggestion. I'm gonna, uh, the way I'm gonna word it is. So it's gonna be your favorite verse. So basically your, your favorite song in the world ever, FMK. No, but, uh, your favorite food in the world, f, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm speaking.
Starting point is 01:47:57 Shut up. I'm giving you three things. It is to you, your favorite song, your favorite meal and your favorite movie. You have to fMK them. Like so you have to eliminate. So whatever your favorite song is, whatever your favorite food item. but let's go to like single food item because a meal encompasses too many things. He does love his compound stuff.
Starting point is 01:48:18 And then he knows. Compound meals. And then movie. So song, movie, food item. But like the most important favorite sentimental, et cetera. Okay. Yeah. I'll kill the song.
Starting point is 01:48:32 Which is like. Because I couldn't tell you my favorite song off the top of my head. That's good. So, because I kind of like a wide variety of music anyway. I'm going to go ahead and marry my favorite food that could be just about anything but I think like a nice
Starting point is 01:48:53 medium rare ribby steak is a good merry and then I will go ahead and the other one was favorite movie I want to need a term forever I'll need an actual title for that movie song we'll let you get away with it Ocean's 11 okay The original or the remake with George Clooney?
Starting point is 01:49:13 I'm going to assume. George Clooney. Who I'm in the backlog of you and you. You said George Clooney ruined the Batman movie. And I disagree with that. Okay. George Clooney said that. Yeah, but George Clooney doesn't know he's talking about either. So I thought that the villains in that Batman movie were the best villains.
Starting point is 01:49:35 Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze. Bring Mr. Freeze back. why can't we bring Mr. Freeze back? So, I'm going to nerd out. I don't want to. I'm just going to say, you, you kind of, you think Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze
Starting point is 01:49:51 is better than Danny DeVito's penguin? He's a happier, more go-lucky guy. Danny DeVito's fucking penguin was terrifying. I just, I just want Mr. Freeze. It was just like, root for the villain. Have you played the Arkham series at all? Not a big video game person.
Starting point is 01:50:07 I could have. He's not playing. Yeah, I could have pegged that too. So what they've done with Mr. Freeze, and they did it in the Gotham series, is he's now kind of a tragic villain. And, yeah, so he's less terror. White dying?
Starting point is 01:50:24 Yeah, he's less scary and more. I was doing it all to save my wife. Yeah. And, yeah, you're right. Like, Mr. Freeze, I think, has the capability of a very in-depth villain. Yeah, I think that has a I think there's a good opportunity
Starting point is 01:50:42 to like, wasn't there? I can't remember. They did. They brought a decent amount of all the comic book and. Yeah, I, I did mention that and like that was a two-part episode. And if you didn't cry watching that episode, then it's like what's wrong with you? It's been 10 years since I watched Gotham. So I just kind of. Yeah. And even in the Arkham series where she like, she actually ends up waking up. Because somebody kidnaps her and
Starting point is 01:51:05 they break the machine. So she ends up waking up and essentially begs him to let her die. And the final scene is just like Batman walking away while they stand there watching all of the destruction that Mr. Freeze did to save her and her essentially saying like, You did it for you, not me. I didn't want this. You need to just let me go. So incredible, incredible.
Starting point is 01:51:34 Yeah. I think most of our wives would say that too, though. I don't think it's like it's yeah I don't think many people would want their husbands to become fucking megalomaniacs yeah destroying entire city yeah in my name wouldn't yeah Morgan would be she's so fucking mad she wouldn't let me she wouldn't let herself die she'd kill me in there all right so that was a good FMK I like that okay my turn yeah ha more coffee talk you thought you were done I forgot we got. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:52:09 no, and this one's really interesting to me because it's, it's probably more stuff Keith had never thought about and as he steps out. I want your Mount Rushmore of country origins for coffee.
Starting point is 01:52:23 Okay. Well, that'll be probably pretty easy. Ethiopian coffee. Gosh, they make some pretty unique, really acidic coffee.
Starting point is 01:52:37 And that's kind of what I like. And it roast light like most other origins don't. Have you ever been, have you been to an Ethiopian coffee ceremony? No. No, I interestingly have, which is wild. They put butter in their coffee too. Oh, I bet that's, that's, what is that? They call that bulletproof coffee in the diet world in the U.S.
Starting point is 01:53:02 Oh, yeah. I put butter and salt or something in it. Well, salt and butter would kind of fix everything. Right. So, yeah, okay. I love every coffee I've had from Columbia. I think they're doing something right over there. I can't, I don't know if that's south or north of you guys.
Starting point is 01:53:21 Both technically the world is around. It's all. It's a flat circle. The, you know, I like Brazilian coffee because that is what most of the people who buy coffee from me. That's what they want. They want kind of a roasty, not super complex,
Starting point is 01:53:45 medium-bodied coffee, and Brazil does a pretty good job of giving a pretty consistent product across the line. And then I would probably have to go with Mexico. Really?
Starting point is 01:54:02 I've had some really, really good coffees from Mexico. So good, in fact, that sometimes I just don't have access to them at all. So when they have a good one, it is really, really, really good. The reason I was excited to ask that question is we talked about how, like, the Valhalla Java, which is Zach Wilde from Black Label Society, that was his coffee, kind of got me off of garbage commercial coffee. I actually didn't drink coffee until, like, my 20s. I never enjoyed it. And then I was at a market one day
Starting point is 01:54:39 and I got a Rwandan organic. Oh, yeah. And it was so good. So good. Like it was earthy and it was rich. It was like, and I've never been able to like find it or recreate it again. Like even the company,
Starting point is 01:54:59 I don't remember their name, but like Rwandan coffee pretty much made me like coffee. After having just shitty commercial coffee that, you know, I'm working in a warehouse and the guy shows up and he's got coffee. And I'm like, great. I'm not interested. And then suddenly like this coffee fell in my hands. And I have discovered that finding Rwandan coffee is hard. I haven't looked into the reasons and I'm sure somebody will tell me there's political reasons or whatever.
Starting point is 01:55:25 But like, damn, that Rwandan coffee thought me. Yeah. Yeah. Oh. Yeah. But you have a. And then it, you know, the way they process and dry the coffee out drastically affects the flavor too.
Starting point is 01:55:40 Yeah. And, you know, it'll affect the acidity in the body of the coffee as well. So it'd be interesting to hear exactly what that coffee you had was. Yeah. And it's recreatable. I've never been able to find anything like it again. But it was like a life-altering moment, the first sip. I was just like, wait, coffee can be good.
Starting point is 01:56:02 Yeah. When you try mine, you should tell me the things that you don't like about it or the things that you wish it was. Okay. And then we can find one, you know, because chances are I've got one in my basement ready to go that that is already that. Yeah. You know, it's just from a different place. Yeah. How do you take your coffee?
Starting point is 01:56:26 Black. Yeah. In many different forms, but I usually do a pour over. That's my favorite way to drink it. When I do the one you're sending, I'll do pour over just because the drip machine is for Folgers. And yeah, I usually put a splash of milk in because I find coffee acidic and I have acid reflux disease.
Starting point is 01:56:48 So I find a little splash of milk just enough to change the color. Right? Like I don't, I'm not like a triple triple. Do you know what that means? No. No, okay. Canadian term. Triple sugar, triple milk.
Starting point is 01:57:01 triple cream. Oh, okay. Yeah, you double, double, you're triple, you get people that, I have people that order a quadruple with four sugars
Starting point is 01:57:10 and four milk and I don't think you like coffee at this rate. Like at that point, you might not actually- Yeah, just get in a Lonnie, dude, they're probably tastes better than that. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:57:21 I do 25 grams, ground coffee, 400 grams of water. Okay. I usually just do scoops and fill my cup. So we'll see. Yeah, that goes.
Starting point is 01:57:32 I also have a French press. So, like, with yours, we'll probably have it on a Saturday morning with my wife and French press, one of them. I like the way the French press kind of adjust the oil levels. Yeah, and the body of the coffee is a lot heavier. Yeah, yeah, because the filter can. When we do them, we use the bamboo filters because they don't have eyes in them. So, yeah. I don't, I'm not like, I used to be, but not so much, and it's never come up on the podcast.
Starting point is 01:58:00 but like I do love a good nerdy out coffee. Not to the point of Nate or maybe yourself, but like, I did have, what, what do you call those with the, not a decanter. I had one for years and then I broke it.
Starting point is 01:58:17 Where it's like, it's like a por- No, it's like a pourover, but it's all one piece. Eh well, we'll figure it out. ChemX? Yep, that's the one.
Starting point is 01:58:29 Yep. I had one of those. great too. Yeah, I broke, I ended up breaking it. They're too big though. I have a plastic V60. It's perfect. Yeah, and that's a... Doesn't break. I ended up breaking it and not replacing it.
Starting point is 01:58:40 And that's when I got the pour over, just put the filter on top of the cup. Yep. Yep. It's perfect. And you have like infinite variety. You know, you can nerd out about it a bunch. But you can change how much water you pour, how fast you pour it. How hot it is. It changes. Yep, it changes everything.
Starting point is 01:59:00 changes the entire composition. Yep. So. Well, I'm excited. All right. I think you pass Mount Rushmore. Passed FMK. What's next?
Starting point is 01:59:12 I don't mind. Barely look at the notes anymore. I'm highlighting what you got to do. Geez, are you ever? It's like a flashing light. Oh, because you're probably in black, darker, not dark mode. Literally always in dark mode. Everything else is.
Starting point is 01:59:26 I may not. I may not to put mine in that. Okay. A couple of affiliates. we've got Barbell Rescue. I've got one of those. Love it. Might need a second one soon.
Starting point is 01:59:36 Got a home gym con. Code unpaid works there as well. And of course my favorite is, well, not compared to the rest. But the one I like talking about the most would be Jim Radar. There is no code there
Starting point is 01:59:47 because it's a free site to use. Make sure you add your gym and have some fun. I mean, code unpaid is the fringe remote made along the way, but also getting code unpaid in your thing. That sets up,
Starting point is 01:59:58 that's an actual. Yep. You get code unpaid on. your gym. You might have to start putting in some work and finding the people, because I have that list that has about probably 80 and 90% of people that's been, like, if you go to my page and I have a you and you guest list, you can actually go through. I mean, it may take you some time, but unpaid, unpaid, unpaid, and go through, like, because I have like 60 people in there. Ain't nobody got time for that. Yeah, and following up to that, I still need to get back on to the fireside and keep editing
Starting point is 02:00:24 the episode titles to add names. I was good about it. I did like 10 a night for like a couple weeks and then I just, I haven't touched it. If I could give points for being on unpaid and underrated, I might take a day to go and do some of the past guests, but since it's just me commenting, I'm just going to go with it from now on. That's fair. All right. Big Tanner, are you familiar with unpaid or underrated?
Starting point is 02:00:47 Is that a game that you've heard before? Do you want to explain anybody with what the deal with that one is? Nobody wants to be unpaid and underrated is really good. Perfect. Perfect. Yep. Unpaid. are underrated.
Starting point is 02:01:01 Let's go with how many good ones I have. There's a lot of good ones. Why don't you, what do you think about chili with beans? I've submitted like three times. You have some strong opinions.
Starting point is 02:01:14 Three out of 16? Yeah. Chili should definitely not have beans. So that is very much unpaid. Chili con carne. So like a chili. So like I agree
Starting point is 02:01:28 if it's chili for my hot dog 100% but that's a different chili that's that's completely different like a winter chili like a nice hearty beefy filling chili i mean if you take the beans out it's just fucking ground beef and like tomato sauce yeah it's the best part yeah yeah but like chili was originally just meat and then they added beans to it later on so but how do you get your fiber you got to have the fiber that's that the fat you don't need fiber me. Chilly is not a fiber-rich meal. You're not eating chili on your cut,
Starting point is 02:02:03 all right? You just get your fiber from something else. All right. Unpaid or underrated machines in the gym? Depending on the machine. Okay, so having more than three,
Starting point is 02:02:22 two machines in a gym. Well, that's unpaid, too, in my opinion. I think I think if you're just on machines, it's unpaid. I think if you're training for strength and you have some machines, then underrated. But since I can't ride the line, I'm going to say unpaid, final answer, locked it in.
Starting point is 02:02:49 I feel that. I'm going to go with one that's not on there because I'm just curious. I'm like to picking your brain about your training philosophy or coaching philosophy. I don't want to see how this stacks up there because in my, mind, if you're not going to do machines for variety, you have to do this for variety, or you're just beating the shed of your elbows all day long. So unpaid or underrated, specialty barbells. So I'm talking SSBs, Cadillac bar, Duffalo Bar, all, you know, all those variations. I'm not, you know, I don't really, you know, a deadlift bar take it or leave. Well, a trap bar,
Starting point is 02:03:17 yes, but I'm like, I'm not including just like a Texas Deadlift bar, like, like, all your, all your, all your, all your, all your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, fit on. So I didn't realize all these things existed when I first built my gym. They were all in the gym. Power lift. I know. Power lift and
Starting point is 02:03:37 and I just didn't realize that all this stuff was a thing. The safety squat bar was something that somebody needed if their shoulder was hurt. Yeah. Or their elbow was hurt. But, you know, I don't have a whole lot of elbow problems. I don't train a bunch of people with a whole lot of elbow problems. So,
Starting point is 02:03:54 It's impressive for your clientele's age. Yeah, I mean, yeah, I agree. I've got a couple with shoulders that will do close-grit bench or an inclined bench press with. But for the most part, I mean... So your whole gym, you don't have a Mars bar, you don't have a Duffalo bar. I have a Draper bar, which is like an attachment for like an Olympic bar that makes it into a safety squat bar. But I got that because I've seen that. Yeah, because I didn't, they didn't make a 15 pound safety squat bar, and that's what I needed.
Starting point is 02:04:31 I needed something smaller because I had a 90-year-old woman who couldn't put her hands on a bar. And so I found that thing, and I was able to kind of incrementally load that movement for her in a manner that was safer. I'd say they're underrated because looking at all the benefits from them, even from watching everybody else train with them, I think that I should underrated for me because I think I should have a lot more specialty bars in the gym. It's definitely a financial investment, but it's also tricky too because you want to program like the same five people to do the same things in the class, which is kind of easy and convenient. So then you start implementing these bars, you only have one of each. And then someone's like, well, Sally has this bar and Susie wants that bar. And it's like if all you have is power bars, I get that makes it more streamlined.
Starting point is 02:05:22 but you have that's what you don't have people that get hurt like that's fuck i don't believe that like that's wild like you don't have a dude i've got hurt his elbow and has to like front has to i've got i've got tennis elbow yeah right so using the safety scop bars kind of dope sometimes i alter you yeah and are i get tennis elbow once in a while um like you have litters coming in three days a week doing five by five kind of or or or not i guess that's no no no okay so yeah so so that might contribute to why you don't have people about it or I'll beat the shit. How often there's some of your clients coming in?
Starting point is 02:05:56 Like once a week or twice a week? Two to four days a week. I mean, you have somebody that's got to be touching a bar or four days away. Yeah. And when we have our own. Staying healthy. Yep. Yep.
Starting point is 02:06:09 And there, I think I have the strongest, like if you could see it from space, I'd have a bright light of the strongest 90-year-olds in the U.S. Oh, hell yeah. Like in Nebraska. I've got a 90-year-old woman who deadly. lifted 158 pounds. 93 years old. Her. Amazing.
Starting point is 02:06:26 Yeah. Yeah. He's a strong woman. That'll be big, big, big, big gin in just a few short years. She's going to be so pissed. Love you, Jen. Okay. My turn, I guess. I'm not going to steal more than three.
Starting point is 02:06:43 We got to go. It's all right. Unpaid or underrated, orio mint balls. Ooh, have you ever had one? I've had balls What do balls Do balls smell different from dicks? I guess it depends on your angle
Starting point is 02:06:58 Yeah That's the funniest thing you said in a while What really? Well like I just like I just visualize someone's nose in an asshole And it's just really funny Which way you're smelling No I like I assume they're just like cookie balls
Starting point is 02:07:15 Of some sort, right? Yeah they're just mashed up Oreos with cream jails cheese. Okay. That sounds amazing. And they dip them in chocolate. They're phenomenal.
Starting point is 02:07:25 Yeah. There's no fiber in them either because there doesn't need to be fiber in them. I get my fiber from my chili. Thank you very much. You got your chicken with your side of chili because that's the only place you can get your fiber. You get fiber from other things. I put beans in my rice.
Starting point is 02:07:43 Beans and rice. Yeah. Beans belong in rice. Yeah, absolutely. I don't disagree with you. I think beans are are, are under rated for sure. And every,
Starting point is 02:07:53 every weekend I have beef on toast. Like I, I, but I don't hate beans and chili. What is, uh, what's, what's, what's your strong Midwest opinion on, uh, cinnamon buns with chili? And is that actually a staple? Because I, I've still never, delicious as shit. It's really good. Yeah, it is.
Starting point is 02:08:13 Um, yeah, it's really good. Um, they, just like any. sweet bread, like corn bread with chili is really good. Now that I grew up eating at. Yeah. A cinnamon roll with some chili is good.
Starting point is 02:08:28 It does sound good. Okay, did we get an unpaid or underrated there? The unpaid underrated. You said mint balls. Those are incredibly underrated. Thank you. Yeah, I wasn't sure we got the... Okay, unpaid or underrated.
Starting point is 02:08:44 I got like two more. Flavored coffee. If you're buying coffee from the grocery store, I still think it's unpaid. I don't think flavored coffee is that great. If you want flavor in your coffee, just do it with stirrups in your kitchen. Bones coffee used to make a pretty good flavored coffee until the shipping got ridiculous. Yeah. I know some places do a lot better of a job, but.
Starting point is 02:09:16 I think most of the time flavored coffee just smells like the flavor and doesn't really taste like it. That's, yeah, that's actually fair. Go ahead. Well, I'm thinking, like, you just mean, like, as it's brewing, but, like, isn't, like, half of taste, like, smell? Yes. It's all going down the same, like, yeah. Yeah, like, they had a red velvet coffee that I was addicted to. That would suck, though, if something smelled good, but tasted like shit, like, that could be, that would be annoying as fuck.
Starting point is 02:09:44 but if somebody's serving Fulgers, I'm hoping it's hazelnut or something. Fair, yeah. Because I'm hoping there's something to cover up the rest of the flavor of the other coffee. Do you have any nostalgic memories of like coffee commercials as a kid? Because like I still remember that like the Folgers
Starting point is 02:10:04 Christmas commercial where like the sun sneaks in from home and starts brewing the cup of coffee and stuff. And this is like probably early 90s. I don't even know if anything. I do remember. Chris Farley freaking out. Remember when Folgers did that?
Starting point is 02:10:22 They went to a high-end restaurant and they would serve the coffee and then they would go and interview the guy and be like, what if we told you it was Folgers? And the guy would be like, wow, Folgers is so good. And then Chris Farley did one on Saturday Night Live and the guy walks up and was like, what if we told you this was Folgers? And he's like, you son of a bitch. And he like flips the table and starts freaking out. I remember that.
Starting point is 02:10:43 I remember that clip, not necessarily. necessarily like the Folger part, but I just remember seeing him flip a table. Yeah, yeah, Jess. Okay, unpaid or underrated climbing mountains. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, it's unpaid. Mountains are, mountains are cool, but you should not. You should, unless you're ready to climb them, do not go.
Starting point is 02:11:07 And what an original name for a mountain, the mountain that you climbed. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, Mount Massive. Somebody looked at that and was like, hmm, nailed it. Yep. I think it's a 14er in Colorado. Yep. And we like pitched a tent at the base of this mountain like nine hours before we were going to climb up it.
Starting point is 02:11:28 We had just got to Colorado. And it was a mess. Man, I carried so many balls of water with me up that mountain. And you're not sweating at all. You are, but it's like all evaporating. Yep. And, you know, my legs are good because all I do is compact. right so my legs are nice and strong.
Starting point is 02:11:47 I'm trudging up the mountain just wheezing, you know, because I can't breathe. It's, I'm, yeah, the air is so thin. Cornfields, you know. Yeah, I think I'd. And my, my legs were fine, you know, I got, you know, we got to top, came back down. And then the people I was staying with, they're like, oh, we should order food. And they ordered vegetarian pizza. And I'm like, I can't stay here.
Starting point is 02:12:14 I have to go somewhere else. Like, this is all fiber and I need other things. I need all of the other things. I don't need this part. They took you to a vegan restaurant after climbing them out. Yeah. I'm sure that that was not pleasant. This is how you, this is prisoner of war stuff, you know?
Starting point is 02:12:34 That's an vegan restaurant, chili is just beans. Yeah, that's not even fair. Yeah. Yeah. So I guess in that, in that sense, maybe there should be beans in chili. If you're at a vegan restaurant, then you gotta get some protein, right?
Starting point is 02:12:50 I love a good callback. Okay, and my last one, unpaid or underrated, fad diets. No, they're unpaid. Just find something that works and stick to it. And then if you are struggling really hard with sticking to it, then there are plenty of other things you can do.
Starting point is 02:13:09 Then it's not for you. Yep. And there's a lot of people, you know, that aren't chat, GBT that are experts in that stuff that really are in it for to help people. So, you know, all those people will help you. Um, yeah. Okay. Well, I agree. Uh, you passed unpaid and underrated so we can air this episode. Ooh, sweet. I'm glad. Well, this is where we give you the opportunity. If there's anything you wanted to share. I know you were, you were so eager that I
Starting point is 02:13:39 knew you had some because you texted me a few days ago. I was like, do I send you the text? The, the, the questions beforehand and I was like, no surprise us. Do it laugh. I didn't know. It might, you might, we might get better answers if we can screen them. But like, yeah. But it is funny to kind of get flustered. And then it's like, when you listen back, he's like, oh, that's really not my answer. That's just what I said. Like that I thought about it with like an analytical, logical, logical mind.
Starting point is 02:14:00 Like, that's not what I think. Okay. So these are, I've got four. If we have time for four. I got a, I've got an FMK for Joey. Okay. school, the band, deadlifts, and IPAs. We're going to kill IPAs immediately. Like if I never had to have another grapefruit fart beer again, that would be fine. I do enjoy them generally.
Starting point is 02:14:31 Keith's is not actually an IPA. It started as one. Yeah. Make it harder for him. Change that up on him, Tanner. Tell him his favorite beer. That's the topic. And that's also,
Starting point is 02:14:44 but I would still have the same answer. Well, there you go. That's good. Yeah. We'll probably marry deadlifts because there's no scenario in which I don't deadlift.
Starting point is 02:14:53 It is my favorite movement. It is my favorite lift. Yeah, it's the ultimate accessory. So we would F tool. Right? I don't listen to as much as I probably want to, but it's also just because it's,
Starting point is 02:15:09 A 13 minute song is so fucking long sometimes. Yeah. And then I have a Mount Rushmore for Keith. I'm sure you've probably done this one before, but I haven't heard it. Massonomics gear. Ooh. I don't think we have had that. Like all merch or just closed?
Starting point is 02:15:28 Like what's gear? Yeah, because you're answering the question for me. And I've not been here. So what are your four favorite things massonomics has put out that you've purchased on the website? that you wish to purchase on the website. Did DrinkSpotters count? I think that's what he was wondering. He has his druthers.
Starting point is 02:15:45 He has his druthers. Very good answer. But like I'm going to go with everything they've ever. I mean, I'm just, now this is one I, this is an example of if I had this question, I'd have a significantly better,
Starting point is 02:15:54 more thought out answer than what I'm just going to ramble off because I'm, like, I'm drawing a blank on everything. But, uh, the bench heavy banner, which, available or not available? Oh,
Starting point is 02:16:04 not available. Which, which beer, yeah, that's the bad. I know one of the, they can still sell some beer shit, but like,
Starting point is 02:16:08 not most of it, right? But to me, the bench heavy is just like, I grew up drinking bushlight, do anything bench heavy, like the parody of the bench light is just, it's fucking great to me. All banners can be bought through back channels via Tanner, if need be.
Starting point is 02:16:25 If you want to buy stuff for your gym, you just, you know, he can get stuff made for you no matter what it is, essentially. Just like, don't link, hey, look what I bought at massanomics.com when it really wasn't.
Starting point is 02:16:36 You know what I mean? Yeah. lift shorts, both. I'm gonna have to, uh, both, both generations of lift shorts, I think that might have to be like two and three because like the,
Starting point is 02:16:49 the, the, the old ones, the, um, comfort or the champion, the champion shorts, like those are my,
Starting point is 02:16:56 those are my like around the house. Like, I think I have them in Excel so they're like not super tight. And then all my large ones, uh, for the gym or just a little snuggers. So like the quads pop and whatnot. You gotta,
Starting point is 02:17:07 you know, be a little happier with that. but I don't know if like to me they're there they're two different things but they're probably the two things I wear the most. So if I go by like I literally like I wear those shorts 90% of the time if I'm wearing like not cargo pants or shorts, Jen. Um, okay. So that might honestly take up two spots and then the fourth. I'm trying to envision in my head what I have like um, the lift sticker that's on my log. Um, I have one of my car that's been there for like six, at least five.
Starting point is 02:17:38 years. The decal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The deckle. The lift decal. So those are like, probably not the answer that might not help you outfit your gym other than knowing that you can get banners are a thing. Okay.
Starting point is 02:17:54 If there's logos you like, but like for me specific off the top of my head, like if I sit here, I could probably, if someone asked me again in Discord next week when I've had a chance to look at all my orders or even look at my gym, maybe I'll have different answers. But like, I'm pretty happy with those. Like those are the things that get the most meaningful aspect of my life right now. That I either wear the most or I look at and kind of like just smile. I think that's. Okay.
Starting point is 02:18:19 All right. And then I have two. So you guys used to do a silly goose question. And I have two. I don't know when you guys stopped doing that. But silly goose question number one. This is a hot topic in our home. if you ordered a breakfast sandwich,
Starting point is 02:18:39 okay, if you ordered one, it didn't say what was on it. It just said breakfast sandwich. What is the absolute bare minimum required to be considered that breakfast sandwich? Like you got it and you're like, oh,
Starting point is 02:18:54 this is bare minimum. Great. Egg and a meat. Yeah, egg and a meat. Bare minimum, like perfect world, a slice of cheese also. Yeah, so if I said,
Starting point is 02:19:05 hey, I'm going to make you a breakfast sandwich. You're at my house. And I gave you an egg between two pieces of bread. That would not suffice. So if I'm paying for it, I want meat also. If I'm at home, I would eat a bagel with eggs on it and be happy all day long. Or like something off the griddle, like a buddy's house. But like if I'm paying a restaurant, if I'm paying like $9 for a family diner breakfast sandwich,
Starting point is 02:19:28 or if I'm getting something out of a gas station, a fucking hot fridge thing. not a hot fridge is the worst But hot fridge, yeah Yeah, I was gonna let that one slide Yeah, that's not the correct word It's got a door and like a fucking fridge does Yeah, the oven container shelving thing I think it's gotta be
Starting point is 02:19:48 Yeah, I don't think I would pay for But I'm trying to think I've ever just bought like A bagel and a sausage without an egg Like I don't think no, it's got to be egg and a meat. Yeah, I think it's an egg and a meat Yep No matter what. I think if it's a breakfast
Starting point is 02:20:02 sandwich because anywhere you go to order a sandwich, if it's just egg, it calls it an egg sandwich. It doesn't call it a breakfast sandwich, right? It is an egg and cheese sandwich, right? I do like it. So, and I think that's delicious egg and cheese sandwich. Yeah. But a breakfast sandwich has to have meat on it. It has to have a breakfast in it.
Starting point is 02:20:25 Yeah. And you said this is debatable in your house. So is your wife of the opinion that either meat or egg independently with bread is a sandwich that is a quote unquote breakfast sandwich eggs makes it the breakfast sandwich and then all the other things that makes it an egg sandwich right?
Starting point is 02:20:43 Yeah, yeah, absolutely. It's like if I was at your house and you were like, I'm going to make you a breakfast sandwich and you handed me an egg sandwich, I'm not going to be like, the fuck is this. Like I'm just going to be nice. But you'd be like, oh, this is, he could have just said this was an egg sandwich, you know?
Starting point is 02:20:57 Well, but I would say thank you and eat it. Right. Like that's different. But if I go to like, McDonald's and they're like, oh, we have a breakfast. Tim Horton's very good example. They have a farmer's wrap, right? And it's got, you can do sausage egg and it has a hash brown in it.
Starting point is 02:21:12 And then you can just. That sounds delicious. It's amazing. But if they were like, oh, this is a breakfast wrap and it was just eggs in a wrap, I'd be like, no, it's not. There's no breakfast in this. There's eggs in this. Yeah. Well, everything can be a breakfast sandwich at that point.
Starting point is 02:21:29 If you're just going to say, oh, as soon as I put eggs in something, something like would then an egg salad sandwich then classify as a breakfast net right for those people I mean it still would eat at breakfast but is it considered a breakfast sandwich just because of the eggs no it needs to have does your wife's opinions change if she's out of the hat like like if she's at tim hortons or duncans does she have a sandwich that she orders and what's on that no well her favorite breakfast sandwich is a sausage egg and cheese so yeah that's i'm like how or how can you hold this opinion with with the eggs only at the home thing so she's just like making you breakfast one day like
Starting point is 02:22:07 yeah that's how it happened she's like I'm making breakfast sandwiches yeah it was just eggs and I was like there's bacon in the fridge what are I mean I mean I so that would be better than the alternative does it change it when you eat it does it change when you eat it is any sandwich is any sandwich in the morning a breakfast sandwich if there's eggs and meat on it a chicken salad sandwich this morning at like 10 o'clock yeah if I have a BLT at 7 a.m. that's technically my breakfast. It's now a breakfast sandwich. I would agree more with that take.
Starting point is 02:22:38 Like anything you eat at breakfast would be considered a breakfast sandwich. But yeah, I eat a lot of non-made stuff at breakfast on weekends. I'm more of a black coffee breakfast. Yeah. Kind of guy, so. Yeah, I usually eat. But like if she just handed you bread with bacon,
Starting point is 02:22:56 is that more or less of a breakfast sandwich? Less. I would, yeah. I think it's the same. Well, I think it's just a different sandwich. It's just not. That's a bacon sandwich. That's not a full breakfast.
Starting point is 02:23:08 Like, it has to be like, take my breakfast plate and put it on a sandwich. Also, fiberless BLT. Yeah. What type of eggs are we talking to, I think? Because I think scrambled eggs or is there cheese in the egg?
Starting point is 02:23:20 It's just straight up eggs. Because I think if you go egg cheese, like if you go scrambled eggs with cheese on toast, that's a lot closer to like a traditional. Than like a fried egg that you would want to almost, put like miracle whip on or something. Like I wouldn't want I wouldn't want to put miracle whip on a breakfast sandwich because I want so much fat coming from the meat that it's saturated enough.
Starting point is 02:23:42 We just talk. Yeah, I think it has to be eggs. I hope your wife listens to at least this segment. Yeah, I hope she skips the whole, uh, you guys talking about what Dick smell like. I hope all my whole family skips that part. Sorry. I would say we'd have, it's just a joke. No, you can't do it.
Starting point is 02:24:01 Okay. If it was just one location, we might have been able to, but it was... This one is kind of fun. Silly Goose question. Number two, you get to pick any children's movie. It has to be a PG-rated movie. And you get to ruin that PG rating by putting an F-bomb in it. But just one.
Starting point is 02:24:23 What movie are you picking and where are you putting the F-bomb at? I don't think I'm going to have it. I don't know any... Okay, so this is mine. I say that you, especially if it's in the movie theater, like it has to either be like in the first sentence of the movie, right? So then the parent is like, oh, shit, right? There's an F bomb in this Toy Story movie or in the last sentence of the movie
Starting point is 02:24:50 so that the kids say it the entire way home. You know, like you watch the world burn. Okay, so not in the title, but in the movie. Yeah, it's in the movie. Moana. Okay. Where are you putting it? At the end.
Starting point is 02:25:09 After she replaces the heart into Fidi and she goes through all that emotional stuff and then she just stops and goes, fuck. I think that would be incredibly inappropriate but very funny to me. Could you imagine being with your kids in a movie and then it just ends with like, oh, we're best fucking friends.
Starting point is 02:25:33 And it's like, oh, oh, no. Yeah, I would laugh hysterically. Yeah, that'd be hilarious. I think I'm going to go home alone. I got two options, maybe. So when the, when the groceries broke, did he actually swear when the grocery bags broke when he was walking back from the store?
Starting point is 02:25:53 Because if not, I can't remember if he said shit or dang or any, or if it was just like a head down, like depression. But you do remember, like he was, I think he was like walking back with like two big, huge things of groceries, this little like eight-year-old walking out of street, a f-bomb right there would be great. Or when the mom in the airport realizes they did forget Kevin. So it'd be like, fuck, Kevin.
Starting point is 02:26:14 Instead of Kevin, it's just, fuck. Yeah, I think one of those. Or when the paint can hits Marv on the head. Yeah, literally any of the things where the fucking the wet bandit's got the shit kicked out of them, like any, like getting your hair caught on fire. I'm on fucking fire. Like, there could be so many,
Starting point is 02:26:33 there could be so many good implementations because, uh, I think that might be it. All right. Those are great. No, that, that was fantastic.
Starting point is 02:26:43 Yeah, I was glad I was able to, you threw me for a loop with PG, only because like, I'm such a movie buff, like that like, like, so many movies in the 80s,
Starting point is 02:26:51 there either are or PG, like PG 13 didn't exist until like the late 80s, early 90s, well, probably the late 80s. So like, random movies that like, say fuck in like show,
Starting point is 02:26:59 tits are rated PG in the 80s sometimes. And it's just like as long as it's not sexual, even if it's just like classy nudity. It's very weird. So, but yeah, good questions. Good. All right. It was.
Starting point is 02:27:12 We should round it out soon. Yeah. Big Tanner. One of the big tanners, where are they going to find you at on social medias and your company? Yeah. So I'm, I think I'm Tanner Paxton on Instagram and then PowerLocks,
