And welcome back to episode 175 of the unpaid and underrated podcast, a podcast by crew for crew.
I'm one of your host, Big Keith, joined this week by Big Jen.
Hey, friends.
And we're getting a re, this might be the first time ever.
We're going to do a mulligan on our guest we had.
This was our first interview back three and a half years ago or so.
Big Chris Damager, welcome back, buddy.
We're going to try to get to know you a little bit better this time.
So this is out of all the episodes we had, his might have been the host were the least prepared
and knew the least about podcasting.
And, you know, over the years, he's kind of begged us on to be like, hey, when do I get my
episode again?
I was like, all right.
So we decided it was time.
This is no promises.
Yeah, no promises that if you thought your episode sucked that you get another one,
because I can't promise that.
But we'll see how Chris does this time and see if it was an us problem or a him problem.
But I think we're going to have.
I think we'll have a good time.
Because I definitely, definitely relistened.
I think it was okay.
Like, reading through his notes now,
there was so many things that I didn't know from the episode.
So it was more like a little roundtable.
So I'm glad I prepared.
But for those that don't know, Chris was episode number one.
Correct.
Yep.
So.
Worse for first.
It's all good
Go back and check it out if you haven't
Yeah
We got a nice little back
Yeah
I will say that
That was pre us having a questionnaire
That was literally
I don't even know if I had like
You know for it's the first year
I basically was just sliding into people's DMs
And being like hey send me like four or five people to DM
And yep
So that was
Glad that those aren't the days anymore
Because
It's a lot of work for you
It was tedious.
So we're happy with what Nate built and what him and I enjoy would edit over the years and fine tune it.
And we get a pretty decent amount of information now.
So I'm happy with that.
So big Chris, big Jim.
What was the guy last week had like 19 people submitted?
Yeah, that was a few.
I didn't even know 19 people.
I think that was Matt Wallace.
I didn't know.
He had a lot.
I feel like he had a lot of, you have a lot of information, even if you didn't have a ton of people.
Yeah.
I was happy.
Once we actually got it all cleaned up.
And Jin helped a lot with that.
It's a few pages of good stuff.
It was most of my brother, my brother, my sister, my buddy Armando, and Jen.
Should have been most.
That was pretty much it.
Yeah.
Well, we'll get to that and you later.
So we got some general topics to knock out of the way first.
So Big Jen had a nice little trip down to Texas and where she saw some friends compete.
And you want to share your last weekend little trip?
Yeah, it was super fun.
I went down to watch a friend of mine who goes, who does straw man at a local gym.
So she's taught me a lot of things.
Anyway, I went down to watch her in Nationals, reached out in the Discord and said,
hey, is anybody else going to be there?
And Dan Eager was also going to be there.
And then to compete.
And then Brian Hassel, herbal snails or herbal, herbal snails.
I always, I always, I'm like, what herbal?
herbal?
I'm still.
Is it herbal snails?
It was explained to me like three times, and I still don't get it.
I don't get it.
I don't understand people's handles.
Anyway, it was so fun.
I got to see some pretty cool things.
Well, obviously, meeting Dan was really great.
He's great in person.
I loved watching Compete.
He did a really good job.
And then my friend Lauren obviously did a good job.
But Brian and his wife, Elizabeth, came and watched both days.
and brought their kids
Oscar and Frederick
and we hit it off pretty well
so I had two little buddies
two little buddies for the two days
and that was really fun
so yeah I just had a
had a really good time
I did see
Lucas Hatton
was their hat on
so I can't think of that stupid
meme of the hat on hat off
so I saw him
and I saw a couple of cool people down there
I really did want to go talk to him, but you know how it's hard to, I get nervous to go talk to someone because I feel like I'm going to be bothering them.
But I've watched a lot of his YouTube videos, like tutorials and stuff on strong man stuff.
And I just wanted to tell him, thank you.
Like, hey, those are great videos, but I was too scared.
So I took a picture.
I just took a picture.
And then Hannah Cold Iron was there.
She's freaking amazing.
Like, yeah.
So not competing.
She was just there to.
for her merch stand but yeah that was really cool and then one guy uh i can't remember his name but
he went to press uh two i think the record i think it's think lucas's circus dumbbell record is
276 this i can't think of his name and i feel bad about that but he pressed 270 so then you get
a fourth attempt and so he but they were taking 20 pound jumps so i think i wish
they would have let him like yeah you think they would let him chip it if it was for a world record or
something or at least and maybe maybe he thought he had it but he had to go up to 290 so i feel like
he didn't have a choice because why would you pick 20 but anyway man he was freaking close so that
would have been crazy like to break the world record while the record holder was like actually
watching yeah yeah it was anyway that was pretty cool so had a great time with dan and
Ryan and his wife. It was great.
Awesome. I didn't realize it was down in Texas.
I was wondering where you were when you said, I got to fly right now.
Same. And I was like, I didn't put it together. And then I was like, I started seeing all
these stories like, oh, she's at the name, the Dan's at. I get it.
Yeah. That makes sense as to why Nick Ardeon was there. He was a, he was part of
BuildPax for a while. I'm not sure if he still is, but I know he was.
Yeah. I don't know enough names, so I can study more, but definitely.
Definitely the really famous ones I know, but there's a lot of people that are probably just really good follows on Instagram that I don't know enough yet to follow.
But it was still fun to watch.
Nice.
I had a little Keith training update.
Had a nice little squat this week again.
Switch to a barbell for the first time.
I think I had a heavy barbell back squat for the first time in like, you know, year and a half or something.
And it's just because I'm toying with the idea of hopping in the power of me meet next month.
and you still don't know or not.
And I,
what's funny is I think I'm kind of a bug,
Jake about it.
It's like,
oh,
what are your thoughts?
And I think he's just like,
basically ignoring me until I make a decision because he's just like,
he's like,
didn't respond.
Like,
he responded to all my other videos and just like ignored my like run on sent in like my
two paragraph like,
you know,
should I,
shouldn't I?
And he's just like,
fucking ignored it.
And justifiably because,
you know,
he's busy guy.
So unless I have a decision made,
you know,
I kind of get it.
But I just,
I kind of chuckled at that.
But,
uh,
yeah,
tonight. I was kind of worried because I've only been doing the Mars bar for the past couple months,
and it's just like, you know, I have not weighed the Mars bar yet. So there's, there's some
rumors. It might be a little light. So I don't know. But regardless, it is a variation. So being like,
how will this transition? How will my shoulders hold up? How are my other insert other 19 upper body
joints that have been affected over the years with low bar bar barbell squats and everything went
great today? Smoked a, uh, smoked a heavy double. Yeah.
And then, yeah, I just got to figure it out.
But I think I'm going to wait for like, I don't want to necessarily be like, Jake, like, let's do a three-week meat prep.
I'm just going to be like, just keep doing whatever he puts in the program for off-sieving stuff.
And then throw in a heavy single here and there or like do whatever.
And if I feel like doing the meat, I will.
If I don't, I won't.
And then probably start a strongman prep going into a December show.
Because even if I do this power of the meat, I'll still have enough time to do like an eight-week prep and a delode.
So I think it'll kind of work out perfect.
So I don't know.
That's where I'm at. If anyone wondered what the hell I'm doing, doing all these powerlifting things.
And when I'm a strong man, it's because I have a hard time giving up that, that it'd be an eight-year record this year.
This year would be the nine years in a row for doing a meet.
And I just, I have a hard time giving that up, even though I kind of said I would.
And I was like, I thought I had made my mind up that I wasn't going to worry about powerlifting.
But, man, it's so easy to just pay the hundred bucks and hop in and do a local meet.
And then just hop in.
Keep keep that. Keep that.
I bench that left, man.
That's all you got to do.
I might just squat.
Go in.
Have fun.
Tocondition dead lift.
I don't know.
I've never done a token lift in a move before, but it would be cool to go squat like 440.
So are you going to like,
are you going to like primarily still stick to the Mars bar and just do a straight bar here?
I don't know, man.
It's literally, I have like three weeks.
So it's a lot of it's going to pin the reason it was easy to go barbell tonight because I only had doubles called out.
Or like it was a top double and then back off triples.
So I was like, if it was a set of five, I would have just like done the Mars bar and then just loaded something on the, the, the,
the squat bar probably.
But since it was only a double,
I was like,
I can do a double without,
like, hurting my upper body probably.
But if it was any,
any type of volume or reps,
yeah,
I wouldn't have switched over.
So, like,
say,
say next week,
he calls out,
like,
you know,
a five by four at,
like,
RP7.
I will not be doing that with a barbell because,
fuck that noise.
But I might,
like,
throw, uh,
you know,
a heavy.
So I don't know.
We'll see.
This is kind of.
So obviously I,
we listened to the episode one,
and it's just so funny how,
how,
how you evolved over.
time you're like, I don't know if I really want to do power lifting, but at the time you're like, I'm not going to do strong man.
Like, I like to know that I can just squat bench deadlift over and over and over and over.
And now it's like so different.
Your ADHD has left the room.
Yeah.
You're a growing boy.
You've grown in so many ways.
I never, I never thought I'd like, there's times that because now like I'm, Jake has a decent amount.
I got my program days are a decent amount of lifts like with multiple compounds sometimes and I'm just like I get done and if I don't have time I'll look back at the gym and I'll have like three loaded bars and I'm just be like fuck I it's like maybe I should unload these and maybe like maybe so like if it's a deadlift on the ground I'm like I'm not fucking I'm not unloading that bar.
If it's only got one plate on it.
Yeah.
But yeah I looked at the end of the night and I had like I was like fuck I got to unload an RDL bar or squat bar and the deadlift bar. I'm like I'm not.
doing all three of these. Fuck that noise. But I don't know. Everything's going good. I'm having
fun. We'll see TBD on all other decisions. But Jen, do you want to give us a little preview show?
Oh, I was going to just ask. Is the strong man meet that you're doing? Is that Dan's or just
So I'm definitely going to do Dan's. Dan's will be in April. I think he just set the date.
Go looking at school on. I'm going to say that's. So if I was smart, I'd probably wouldn't do the
December show. It just take like a really long like six months off. But I don't want to not do the
December show, I don't know.
It's easy to train.
And you have to do two back to back if it's April.
Yeah, it'd be December and then turn around.
So I don't know, man.
April.
It's four months.
Yeah, it'd be.
No, I mean, lift hard would be June.
Oh, well, there's a bigger, yeah.
Basically, I'm going to end up doing three meets every three or four months for like the next year.
Plus it's a strong man.
I feel like you, I feel like this year.
Yeah.
And I just, I don't necessarily.
That beats me up.
I don't feel I need like a 16.
I don't want to do a 16 week prep on anything either.
You made like an 8 to 10 week prep and I'm happy.
So we'll see.
But we got a little, any preview for next week's episode?
Do you want to give the, do the old Tanner T's?
Yeah, next week.
Actually, tomorrow I'm leaving for Sioux Falls.
So speaking of going to Texas next tomorrow I'm going to Sue Falls.
And I'm going to, well, the first night I'm just hanging out.
but Saturday I'll be watching Hannah and Jenna Lee
in their straw man competition,
so I'm excited for that.
That would be awesome.
But then, so,
within like a few days after that,
we'll be prepping for the,
we're doing the Hoff crew,
Hoff Ships episode.
So we kind of have three distinct areas.
So one will do just a quick roundtable of what's everybody up to.
We'll probably have Hannah and Genealie give a quick update on how they're
your meat went, how the comp went, and then we're going to do a little what grind your
nerling and be in a bonnet, and then we're going to do the questionnaire. So you guys might have
saw some email or some reels and things go out with asking for questions to ask the chips. So we're
going to answer all those questions. So if you hear this in time, send them to me and I'll add
them to the list if you got anything that's pressing.
Yeah, they'll still be like a like a three or four day gap between this.
Yeah, a two day gap.
A little bit, a little bit of time.
Yeah, so I'm excited for that.
Anybody.
Do you watch the YouTube video this week, Chris?
You see the top 10 attachments that you need to add for this future Jimmy?
Did not.
Yeah, it was a quick one.
They just basically went through the top 10 Jim Redar, our attachments and Tanner actually
had all 10 of them, which is kind of funny.
I ended up getting out of work late today and then got home, got my deadlift session in, and then ended up now I'm on here.
So it's a long day.
Story of my life.
Work, train immediate podcast.
It's like, but if I don't shoehorn all that in on Thursday, then I can't justify going to the strongman gym Saturday because I don't want to train three days in a row.
So I have to train Thursday.
If I don't train Thursday, I can't give myself a strongman Saturday as kind of like a rule I have.
I don't always follow it, because there's definitely been times that.
do the three days in a row and I'm just fucking destroyed, but it's, uh, I try to avoid three days in a row the most I can.
I have that this week.
I have, uh, so it was, it was Tuesday was squat when we're, yeah, I'm actually off tomorrow.
I'm not, well, I did three days in a row. I'm off tomorrow. And then we got Eddie's thing on
Saturday. So. Oh, yeah. We'll get into that later. Yeah. We'll get into that.
Let's finish the general topics and we'll focus on you there, big damage.
We got an outline we like to follow.
Stop rushing it.
I did want to say, first of all, I liked that they did the video.
It always makes me think it's just, I like that it's condensed.
And it's just a quick hitter where I can be like, oh, yeah, that actually, because I liked the one that Tommy did too.
And I wrote down a couple notes on the things I needed from like Amazon or whatever.
And then this time, I'm like, oh, I probably do need some Daisy Chains or the long abstrap.
I don't have anything like that.
but then I don't get a program that often anyway, but who knows.
But when he got the, I can't think what they're called, the ergonomic orange ones.
So he pulled it down and I'm like, what is that?
Two hot dogs?
I thought it looked exactly like a hot dog.
You and hot dogs.
Not me.
I thought it was like the egg plant or like the peach, but it was just a hot dog, but no.
Silly.
Speaking of silly, there was a lot of good talking points from their episode.
They're a podcast episode this week that kind of stuck out to me.
I think the funniest one that I enjoyed the most was it.
Tommy proved that he listened, which, you know, is a rare occurrence.
But it was great because he like specifically called out Lauren for not knowing how to take the vulture off the mount without going through settings.
So I enjoyed that a lot to kind of bring that back up.
And I was like, oh, anytime they talk about our podcast to some extent on their podcast always makes me smile.
And then I'm sure we can get into the bathroom etiquette.
And it's just, there's some weird people out there, man.
They always want to chit-chat in the shitter.
Yeah.
It is ridiculous.
Anytime Tanner talks about his office, it just, I freaking love it.
I like wish he would just do like a whole segment on that.
In fact, I feel like we're twins sometimes because all go.
I'll bring my old ass coffee cup and my water bottle, and I'll bring it to, like, the station where we get the coffee and get the water.
Then I'll go to the bathroom, and then I'll come back, and, like, the coffee will be ready by the time that I'm back.
I'm like, he's literally, like, saying what I do every freaking day.
So it's, I just love listening to it.
So it sounds so stupid.
But, oh, and I like that.
They called out the people that, like, hate the small talk and want the timestamps.
And he's like, hey, you guys.
guys can just skip ahead and if you don't like it just basically F off.
I like that he called that.
I do love that he called that.
I do love that.
Now that in that like office world that he's going back and going over it, I just
lay my ass off now.
It's because it's so true.
It's everywhere.
And I thought it was funny that Tommy was talking about the concert like Santana and
the doobie brothers.
and just how he was like one of the youngest people that was there.
That would track though.
I don't think either of those have put out new singles that have made like the top 40 list in 40 years.
I instantly looked at my phone though when he said that the lady like took out the phone one time to take a picture and it was like covered in greased.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was a good one this week.
what would you uh it made me think about like actually buying a ultra like the more and more
they talked about it i was like in my gym it would be perfect it's like i don't have much
yeah like i can only do stuff that's like overhead and that's it and like so being able to
move it around the rack would be nice noise but yeah i think i think everyone has the same
sentiment that like sure everyone's on the phone taking a shit that's one thing but like touch your
goddamn volume damn
put your AirPods in or don't fucking listen to a real and and don't talk in the
I mean I've used public I have to use you know public restrooms all the time because I don't have an office I literally work out of a van so I'm just sitting there and I'm like this motherfucker I don't want to listen to you play fucking candy crush or whatever at full blast it's so fucking obnoxious like I just don't understand how hard it is to carry AirPods in your cargo pants pocket Jen like it's this the best thing ever cargo pockets man do the best we have the right outside of my office
So you walk out of my office.
We have a single bathroom
bathroom that's right there.
It's not our bathroom,
but it's like the bathroom that's closest to the simulators
so guys that are training can come out and use it.
And like,
you'll hear people on their phone,
full blast from the hallway.
And I'm like,
what do you do it?
Like,
turn it down.
These walls are paper thin.
I just heard you shit yourself.
Which is crazy because when I didn't go to Texas,
I was messaging David,
and Andrew, I'm like, I freaking hate people so much because there was a woman just on, like, FaceTime talking super loud, and you could hear everything that the other person was saying and what she was saying.
Gosh, like, what are you doing?
Yeah.
So annoying.
Humans are the worst.
I wish we could.
They are.
Yes.
Delete people like that from this existence.
I'm sure we all have that.
There are stories, though.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Anything else stick out noteworthy?
I got, I just wanted to say one thing about,
I have a strongman com coming up in October,
and they release the mystery event today.
And it's, it's almost, it's good,
it's just like Jake's.
So the, like, his mystery event for this where it's like,
you're 20 foot away for, you know, like 10, 5, whatever.
But it's odd, odd objects.
That's hard to say.
but it's like a rock, I think, a tire.
So like a little tire.
Interesting.
I think it's like 75 pounds or something.
That's freaking light.
Yeah, you're blinding the shit out of a sudden of that.
Yeah, you help it.
It's so good.
But like a tire, a keg, stone, and a body bag.
Have you ever worked with one of those?
Like an M&A.
It's awesome.
I think it says, they say it's like a long retangle.
So you're going to be out, you have to throw it over your shoulder and actually look that way.
Interesting.
Yeah.
So I think you're going to say it's going to be a giant black dildo.
I mean, maybe, squishy one.
That would be such a hard show to do the dildo show because then it's like, I'd almost have to like do no videos because like, I don't know.
You would.
I would. I would.
I mean, I wouldn't.
I guess it wouldn't matter.
But like, that would be the.
the one that you can't share to Facebook, like you'd be like Instagram only.
Like you can't have those videos get out to Facebook, I don't think.
So you'd have to like make sure the stories and the post weren't getting pushed to the other social media.
Because I just can't have fucking like my 70 year old aunts and uncle see me carrying a big black dildo around.
Which every time Nate Moe posts something about BBC.
Oh, I'd laugh so hard.
I just, I just can't.
Yeah, he had someone's heartfelt sentimental one the other day.
And he's like made these BBC ones.
And I'm trying to like, oh, this is actually super sweet, but also BBC.
There was, uh, someone had someone's acronym for something was BWC the other day.
And it's like the same vein.
Oh, like, big a bit of vein.
Um, and I was just like, that was actually really good.
I didn't come up, I just came up that on the spot.
But I remember what the beat.
It was, um, I don't know.
It was just acronyms that correlate back to pornography of some sort, just make me chuckle.
And apparently those are the only accurate.
acronyms that I do know.
Why you like penis jokes so much.
Yeah.
That's why your background is what it is, I guess.
My background is all penises.
Like hand-drawn.
Are they from Jen or what?
I just found this one.
It's like super bad.
I had this incredible problem of drawing penises everywhere.
There's such a variety of them, too.
Like, we could have a whole podcast about the dicks behind your head and the one, like,
they keep poking you in the ear.
Once in a while when he turns, it looked like it's going in his mouth.
Yeah, it is.
Ironically, it doesn't even blur out, you know,
I think it's actually real.
All right.
Well, we got some affiliates for you guys.
We've got plate snacks and barbell rescue.
Both really good companies help us out a lot, help you out,
get you all kinds of goodies, and go use code unpaid, and they'll take care of you.
Big Chris, you got anything you want to tell us?
I'm going to read the ad read.
Is that what you want?
You said you listen every week, so I mean, if you don't understand what this fucking segue was.
Every week.
All I know.
You don't rush me to keys.
If you pull out some AI shit out of your ass after being here for three and a half years,
I might just have to fucking end this call.
And you might have to wait another three years to get your second chance.
You go back to that first one.
That one was heartfelt.
Okay.
Well, Nate insert that in here because I know only like, you know, half the crew.
I do have an adrie.
Okay. Are you tired of dry, boring fitness podcast where people talk about macros for two hours straight?
Well, they do on this podcast too. So you need the massonomics podcast. It's the strength podcast about nothing.
And everything that actually matters in the gym. We're talking world-class guests, boom gym equipment, obsessions, lifting culture, and elite level, tomfoolery.
Search Mathonomics wherever you get podcasts, subscribe today, join the community, and remember, let's our Libbyz.
Nice.
Well done.
Nice.
From the heart.
Appreciate that.
All right.
All right, Chris.
Just in case, because we have like one million crew now in the Discord, and it's hard to sift through.
And not even everybody that I think listens actually listens.
So who are you?
What is your IG and your Discord username?
So I'm big Chris Damager, Big Damager on Discord.
My IG name is Beerbelly underscore Lifts.
I am on Facebook, but I moved it to a point in my phone where I don't see it anymore,
so I don't really use it except for Marketplace.
And I also go by Big Damies, thanks to Jen, my wife.
Crew Jason.
I know, because I listen to episode one,
I think we need a refresher of what actually brought you to massonomics.
All right.
So I remember I didn't.
I was lifting for a while.
I think I started lifting when I was 34 if I went back and looked.
So it's been about seven or eight years.
And one of my friends in the gym was like,
you need one of those like the massonomics lift shirt.
It looks like a Miller light design, but it's a lift.
And I had no clue what he was talking about.
And then finally he showed me.
And I was like, oh, that is pretty cool.
maybe I'll buy one of them and I went on the website,
checked it out,
still had no clue for like months that they did a podcast.
I ended up ordering,
I think,
the Lyft shirt at the time and I did,
the Don't Curl on Me flag was like in my first order.
Then I saw at the bottom that they had a podcast.
And I think I started listening.
I think Tyler was already gone.
So it was after 120.
And then,
but I can't remember the guest or even if there was a guest at the time,
but there was from there I would listen.
And then since I have an hour ride in, an hour at home,
I would go back to the beginning and listen,
my way forward.
So I'm all caught up.
Nice.
And you started early enough that it's not,
it wasn't a chore to do it.
I looked at my member number.
It's 58.
Oh, heck yeah.
Oh, wait, did you get in the chat the other day and is it still 58?
I saw it going off when I was in the middle of my workout.
I just didn't put anything in there, so I don't know where I'm at right now.
50 is your gold card?
Yeah, gold card.
Yeah, you're probably at least 10 under that at least.
Yeah.
I didn't move, dang it.
What number are you, Jen?
Right now, 13.
Oh, you are up there.
Now that's true OJ.
True OJ.
20 true OJ?
I know Keith and Tanner like to talk about their.
their sports number. Well, if mine, I always picked 14.
And so my card. My card was 14. And I've moved up one now since. But it's fine.
Even we're looking to know where I sit now.
Were your black and gold both the same?
My black and gold? No, I moved. I moved up quite a bit. No, not you.
No, hers because it's so, I think my black, black might have been 20.
Okay. So, yeah.
I don't remember my, what color might.
I was curious.
The lower you are, though, the less it does drop.
Yeah.
Unless Matt's different.
Well, Matt's number doesn't count because he let his credit card lapse and then he had to fucking, you know, woes me.
Can I get my old number back and, you know.
Oh, damn it.
You know you'd be the same fucking way, Keith.
Well, clearly, but I, you know, it's not funny if it happens to you.
It's only funny what happens to other people.
I would, uh, there was a few times there where like,
I'd gotten the email like, hey, your car was the client.
And I'm like, what was it declined on?
I'm like, I got to go updated because I had like my,
it was the same number, but the wrong expiration date.
So I'd go back in and I would message town.
I'm like, y'all'm checks of my card right now.
Ugh.
All right, Chris.
Well, we all know you're famously from Philadelphia.
That where you've always been?
Um, grew up in.
West Deffert, New Jersey my entire life.
And I kind of moved around a little bit of the state in the South Jersey area.
Still like 10, 15 minutes away from Philadelphia.
Nice.
But actually in Jersey, then?
But in Jersey, yes.
Word.
Gotcha, gotcha, got you.
So what all events have you gone to over the past several years?
Which, which crew meetups, you know, which check marks do you get on?
So I am at, I'm currently city.
at 14 and then going to crew falls and put me at 15 so I'll get my jacket.
So that's why I'm going to crew falls.
So there's another one of the jackets coming in.
I know somebody else who's getting their jacket out there as well.
But I'm not going to just close that one.
And so I've only been to the Lift Hard at Easy three times.
I haven't been out to now that the way that they're doing the Arnold,
would like to do i would really like to do uh home jim congum one of these years because that seems like
it's like right up my alley and it wouldn't be overly crazy like the arnold so i would like to do that
but other than that i mean i just hit four years last year so i only got two more things left
heck yeah yeah so did you was your uh crew falls was supposed to be a surprise and then she had to spill
the beans it sounds like yeah so it's funny because i had texted her and i was like uh
I was like, just heads up.
I took off from Christmas Eve to, I basically won't go back into, like, January 2nd.
And she was like, save some PTO, dumbass.
Yeah, she was like, so I got to tell you something.
I'm like, what?
She was like, I talk to your dad rather get gift cards this year.
You're going to crew falls.
I'm like, oh, so I guess I got to put in for that, which luckily it sucks that we weren't
out of Livedore to Dive easy because watching everybody online just, it killed me.
Like I was like, this sucks.
Like, it sucks in here at home and watching you guys.
Like, it was cool to like watch people in the background see what people were doing and just laughing at stuff in the background as well.
But it was like it just not seeing everybody and like hearing her say it too, she was like, yeah, I miss.
It's crazy to hear that I like I miss going to South Dakota.
And so now she's, we're going to send me out there for that.
Unfortunately, she won't be coming.
but get my jacket
and then hopefully
Did you say fortunately?
Unfortunately.
Unfortunately.
Unfortunately.
That's what you said.
I have to be like a fill in Jen
crew mom Jen to fill in.
I know.
I actually knew before Chris.
I knew like four months ago when Jen asked me
a bunch of information about it.
I'm glad that
keep that secret.
She was trying very hard to get me.
to a hair and I'm like yeah
at one point you were maybe going to sleep on our
couch and I was like well there was like three people ahead of you
that we're already got dids on the couch but then
thankfully like no one ended up getting the couch
because it was just kind of like I don't know I don't want to
be nicer to just have like however
many beds there are so many people can stay there it's just a little
easier listen I get this house through work so I'll get my own room it doesn't
don't really matter to me I don't care
and it's two days it's nice
yeah crew falls is awesome you're going to have a blast it is
yeah what day you get in
I'm looking forward to that.
I won't get into like noon Friday.
All right.
So you'll basically get the tail into lunch and then we could pretty much go to Tommy's right after lunch.
So you're not really missing anything.
I think it's 10.30.
1030 much like that's perfect.
Yeah, it's obviously.
Literally when like nothing starts until like noon or one anyway.
So a lot of us are some of us are getting in Thursday night just because it's just,
we were so burnt out like traveling Friday and then having to go to Tommy's and then trying to stay out late night.
It was just like it costs the same.
basically because the flight's cheaper typically to go out to Wednesday
Thursday than Friday and our Airbnb was so cheap that it was like
it wasn't a big deal to add an extra night so I'm very excited to have the
extra day this year and just not have the the big event day be a travel day as
well so I'm excited yeah if somebody's got to give a Paul false run for
his money I guess this year right and it won't be me fucking cheater Paul
with his man his man
Okay, so we know you've been around forever,
but there has to be at least something that you're like,
I don't really want that.
Kind of like Brandon explained last week.
Like, you know, I didn't want it until I actually didn't order it.
Like, has there been one piece of merch that you didn't order and you really regret it?
There is.
So there's one that I never saw ever get posted,
and it must have been well before me because the only other person I saw it where is scantt.
and he has a zip-up
he has a zip-up hoodie
that says lift hard-de-vis on the front
and then has the lift-hard-de-bez skull on the back
with the two beer bottles and everything
and Tatter wears it and I'm like
will you please just re-release that
because I want that one so bad
and then he's like oh this old thing
every guy
of course he said that
so there's that
and then like I was around for the breaking
parallel stuff and I just never bought it
At the beginning, it was just like hit or miss on what I would order.
And now it's like I kind of pull the trigger almost every time.
Yeah, I get that.
I remember one time Tanner's saying, I can't remember what I asked him.
And he's like, well, we feel bad because we don't want the same people to have to buy things every single time.
So we try to like change their design, trying to change it up.
But then ultimately the OG still buy all the damn things all the damn time.
oh well
I think this last one was like
the last two releases
were the first time I really didn't buy much
and it was because it was like stuff from Jim Conn
and then the sale and I like
most of it was out of my size anyway so
size small
yeah
yeah size small I tried to go schmedial
yeah that tracks
all right so you on Jim Raider yet bud
oh I am on Jim Raider
we're gonna find you out over there
is a beer belly barbell on gym radar i do have some stuff on there i've been doing some reviews
uh my pictures kind of suck but it is what it is i was just trying to get some points at first
but i'll never catch i'm like 500 points that's good hey it's more than that's and that's uh yeah
you're still in the basement gym with the uh with the old oil burner in the background so
we know there's you've been you've been teasing this uh this this gym expansion outside with the building
for fucking three.
I feel like,
I feel like you've,
you've been talking
about that gym outside
as for as long as you've
been fucking crew,
bud,
so is there an update?
We got closer this year.
Yeah.
So,
uh,
we recently knocked down two sheds and got a new shed.
So that cleared the spot for where the gym is going to go.
Uh,
then we had to buy a heater.
And we had to get a new water filtration system.
So that kind of got pushed,
pushed off again.
So,
but we'll see.
We'll see what happens.
The next big purchase is I,
I'm going to desperately need a new car.
I'm getting tired of fixing mine all the time.
So it's getting really close to $200,000.
And cars are not cheap right now.
So you might be in the basement gym for a couple more years.
For a couple more years, yeah.
Unless I get some crazy race.
But it's nice to have a goal, like we talked about before.
Yeah, it is.
It is nice to look for it.
Yeah.
And like ideas for it get thrown around all the time because now with her,
with Jen doing this resin stuff, we kind of need space for her as well.
So now we're talking the gym is going to be the bottom floor, a spot for me to fix cars and work out down the bottom floor.
And then her, she's going to be on the top floor.
And that's where her whole shop will be there.
And she'll have like a studio there as well.
Yeah.
Everything so that she doesn't die.
Yeah.
So it'll be awesome.
Yeah.
That sounds like a $200,000 building.
Oh, dude, it's going to be.
I mean, the single story alone was like 24.
4K when we were done.
And I was like, oh, that's going to get pushed off for a little bit.
Being adult, like we said, being adults, sucks.
Oh, it sucks.
It sucks so bad.
I feel like most of people know that you lift and that you go to South Dakota, but
did you send this to anybody like your sister or your brother, whoever, that they're
just like, what in the hell are you doing?
So, like, when I send it out, I was like, hey, did you guys mind just filling this out for
me and I just sent them the link.
And I was like, it could be whatever.
Like, it's just, whatever it's about.
It doesn't matter.
Just put it on there.
Even if it's embarrassing, just throw it on there.
And like, my sister, my brother, all know it lived.
My buddy Ormonder definitely does because he has some of my weights.
And my buddy, Stevie's probably like the only one that was like, I had no clue of what
this was all about.
But he did it.
Yeah, he still did it.
I think someone, I think someone,
Under the lifting history, I think I deleted it because I tried to purge, like, useless information, but it was like a...
Yeah.
His response, someone had like a joke response.
Like, he lives, you could have told me or something.
Like, could have fold me or something.
Something like that.
It might not have been.
I'm pretty sure it was this week, but I don't know.
If anybody...
All the fucking show notes are trying together.
And then, like, I was going to send it to my gym buddies.
But my gym buddies would have been the ones with, like, the stupid, like, oh, he's got a small penis.
Yeah.
I mean, at least that would have been.
factual probably.
I mean, it would have been
factual, so I wonder.
There's so many
cocks next to your head right now.
I can't concentrate.
Now, and Jen was trying
to like egg me on to get a dual monitor
so I could see the screen even bigger.
Like, I don't need to see those dicks any bigger
than they already are, Chris.
So I think, I think if anything,
I'm content with my single laptops,
just running a split screen and
I don't need dual monitors to see your fucking
big old cock going into your ear.
But just imagine how good your nose would be.
working out. They're perfect.
It all works out.
As soon as we moved this forward a little bit, I was like,
I know what I want my background to be now.
And that's exactly what I had mine.
Oh my God. I didn't think of it.
You haven't even brought up the bag of dicks,
he's like,
because the last time I did,
you were so mad at me.
I was mad at you,
but now like,
now I'm bringing it up.
That's what I'm saying.
Because they were in your goddamn fanny pack.
They were not.
They were in you at some point.
and then someone must have taken them out immediately to fuck with me.
Wait, who did put it in my fanny pack, Kurt?
I don't remember who put it in, but I saw the bag of dix,
and that's exactly what the amateur's background was.
She just fucking admitted there was a bag of dicks in her fanny pack,
and I put it in there.
And I gave it, but I gave it to, uh...
Yeah, you probably gave him away immediately.
That's fine.
No, it was at Tanner's party,
the time I got the bag of dicks.
Oh, then that might have been from Andy,
because I gave Andy the dicks at the party,
and then I put dicks in someone's fanny pack at,
at Schwannies.
So I don't know.
Is it still driving you crazy?
No,
it's honestly,
it's funny at this point.
Like,
I don't care.
I'm just glad I took them.
And they were like,
what if they're at Schwannies?
And the loss of found?
Have you seen these dicks?
They're just going to wait till next to lift hard the VZ.
I want Tanner,
I want to ask like the,
the bartender if they found any dicks there.
Find any,
a small packet of candy peonesses laying around here.
They do not taste good.
They were.
unedible. They were not...
They had to be like chalk.
They were. Yeah. So next time someone sends me
dicks, make them make sure they're gummy dicks
because those were tasty.
All right, Chris. I know
the first go-round...
No erection once.
Your first go-round, we didn't have
too many reoccurring bits
or segments. So this might be your first time
hearing this. So are you familiar with least fun, most fun?
I am. Do you want to
explain to anybody?
You're going to give me a topic. I'm going to
tell you what's the most fun about it and what's the least fun about it absolutely so we're
going to go least fun most fun big chris djain being a dj day dj and a night of dj and whatever
you want to take it but djine so this can be two ways uh there is a ride in the line um yeah no i'm
not riding the line because i still djated either way so i'm still on that side uh when i so i used to
DJ did two things i did eighth grade dances which was
strange because you had like
pervert I wasn't like I was like 17
that makes it worse I think
and that one was weird
because like you'd have like eighth grade girls
can you can you dance with me
I'm like I don't really think that's appropriate
oh god
is there a different DJing topic we can
talk about that doesn't involve
there is
so
when I got older
we would have parties in my buddies garage and I would DJ his parties.
And those nights were awesome because I just sat behind the bar all night.
We built a bar up there.
We had a beer on tap.
We just serve parties every night and everybody would throw some money up.
And then I'd just DJ all night long and that was awesome.
People would tell me what they want to hear.
I had like a little Wi-Fi thing I could plug it and download songs illegally because that's all we did back there.
Hell yeah, Morpheus, Kazah, Limewire, etc.
So the most fun about that was just,
watching. I love people
watching and being a DJ and just watching
people's reaction to music all night long.
It's awesome. Like you play something.
The whole crowd of people just get into it.
It's so much fun.
The least phone is when a speaker falls
off the wall and smacks somebody in the head.
Oh, Jesus.
Oh, no.
Did you get sued?
I hope you did not get sued.
The girl who hit was actually
one of my ex-girlfriend.
Did you like put
all the base into that one speaker when you know
she was next to it just to like fingers crossed
I felt so bad that she was just
just so happened to be sitting under it and it was
loud and it just fell off
and just smacked it right now
that's not good
you guys watched it last last night
no it was like a rear channel not a fucking
like a tower speaker or something
it was a tower speaker that was on top of a pack
pack made video game and it slowly slid off
that could hurt that could hurt
when I look back out of it, it was so funny.
Yeah, that does sound...
Especially if it's an X.
Yeah, for sure.
It was a bad X, too, so...
Good deal.
Spoiler, the Ted Lassa last night, they...
The DJ played a song, and it was just like
the second the note hit, like, everybody started dancing,
so you remind me that.
Oh, that's awesome.
You'll have to watch that one.
Sean, you used to
a DJ too. That's actually
when we met
he was DJing
on Wednesday nights because his uncle was a DJ
and then, but
on Wednesday he's DJing at a bar
his uncle was and then
but on Wednesdays it was college night
so then his uncle's like
I'm out like don't want any part of the
college night so then Sean would DJ on Wednesday
nights and anyway
he played
crazy music so now once in a while
when the song comes on
radio or we hear it on a movie or something.
I'm like, oh shit, you used to spin
this shit at Southgate.
Yeah,
my version of
my version of DJ, it's very loose.
Like, I kind of had, it
was like an old, like, Windows player
that was up, and somehow I found a way
that you could overloop the stuff.
So as one song was fading out,
the other one would pick up and go in.
It's better than just like
dead, like, does the, you know,
I love it.
Yeah, as I'm flipping.
through.
Yeah.
Sean did our friend's 40th birthday, and all she wanted was like songs from when she was in high school.
So everybody was submitting stuff before the party, like a couple weeks before the party,
and he made this huge playlist.
It was, it was really fun.
Oh, that's awesome.
That's awesome.
All right.
Well, we know what you did for a side hustle when you were a kid.
What's the day job look like now, though?
As little as much you want to share.
It doesn't matter.
But right now I have a nuclear simulator hardware technician.
So basically, I'm on the fake side of the power industry where we do all of our licensing and stuff.
And we have two giant full scope simulators that look exactly like the control rooms.
And I repair them, upgrade them, and maintain them as much as I can.
And then we have three glass panel simulators that I'm in charge of.
And I just picked up an engine diesel generator simulator because it wasn't supposed to be my thing,
but they kept asking me to look at it instead of hiring a company to come in and do it.
So now I checked that as well.
So how did that happen, Chris?
So you were a mechanic, right?
Yeah, I was, I worked for Volkswagen and Nauty.
worked for Volta Higna for about 20 years. It's what I went to school for. I loved it, but I
got, so when you're a mechanic in the way you get paid, it's flat rate. If you know what flat rate
is, it is a piecework, flat rate, whatever you want to call it. If a job comes in and pays an hour,
and I get it done in a half hour, it still gets paid a half hour. Well, when you work for
Volkswagen, they got bought cheating diesel emissions and, hey, if your work disappears, you'll lose
a lot of money.
Oh, crap.
So I went through that.
I went through COVID.
I also went through the housing market crash.
So there was like, it was constantly up and down.
And I just got to the point where I couldn't do it anymore and started looking for a more
consistent job.
So I got into a job where I was doing fabrication work for a little bit, like welding and
building trucks.
And I talked to Keith about this where I was building, I was building work trucks for
Avingrid.
And Avigrid is a new.
York electric company type deal.
I liked that job.
I learned a tonne, but I hated the management and just could not deal with them at all.
And so I left that job after 10 months.
It's the fastest turnaround I've ever had his job.
Oh, sometimes I wish I could do that.
And I was applying to PSCNG, which is a local power company around here.
And we do like some of South Jersey and all the way up into like Long Island and North
Jersey and stuff like that.
And they have a nuclear plant.
I was trying to get in and fix like they're trying to do their fleet management
down there.
But they wanted to be AAC certified.
I did not feel like going back and take it eight classes to be AAC certified again.
Or tests.
So I knew a couple people that worked down there.
And I asked some favors and they got me a interview.
So I still had to go in and nail the interview.
And I did well.
and now I have a job saying behind the desk hearing people complain all day.
So it's not what you know, it's who you know.
It's who you know.
Yeah.
Yep, yep, yep.
You know how that goes.
Yep.
So we've been here.
Just about everybody down there is like, oh, my dad worked here.
Oh, my dad worked here.
That's how they all get their jobs down there.
Oh, dang.
That's exactly how our company is, for sure.
But we're also, I'm from a much smaller town and community.
so it's pretty common, I guess.
So does anybody at work call you Weasel?
No one at work does.
I don't think anyone at work knows that.
How did that come from?
That was a, so growing up, I was a basketball player.
Weasel dropped a speaker and his girlfriend.
No wheeze and a juice.
But I was, I used to be really into basketball.
And then I would always play with my brother and his friends who were always
older than me because he's eight years older than me.
And I would always kind of cherry pick where you kind of just wait for the ball to come back
the offensive way.
And one of his buddies was like that, he's like a fucking weasel.
And then that stuck.
And I also got called little Chris quite a bit.
And that was from Friday.
Oh, I haven't seen Friday in 20 years.
That might be a good reward.
Is that a good?
Is that hold up?
I haven't seen Friday.
It's so long.
It holds up.
It's got to hold up.
The sequel weren't.
The original one is really good.
So in the first one, they have that kid, Daveville, Chris.
And he would knock over people's trash games.
And his one buddy would be like, God, damn Bill Chris got you too?
All the time.
I'm going to have to rewatch Friday.
That's in a minute.
Yeah, my son actually watched it recently.
So if he enjoyed it, I feel like it.
Yeah.
It held up.
Yeah.
So what's...
Go ahead.
What's your...
I mean, a lot of this is kind of, you know, we followed you a long time on Instagram,
but what's your lifting looking like?
What do you know, what kind of competitions have you done over the years?
No.
I think I've done...
Damn.
It's on three strong man shows.
Nice.
One Highlands games.
And I think five or six.
six powerlifting competitions.
And right now I'm just taking the powerlifting.
I kind of,
after this sick incident,
I kind of just reset everything and just started back to square one
and did a,
did like a basic 5-3-1 for a little bit,
we're not 5-3-1,
like a basic starting strength one for a little,
until everything felt good again.
And then just kind of,
I hopped on a program I was doing,
but I didn't like the way he had it,
he had to set up anymore.
He completely changed everything he was doing.
And I didn't,
I didn't like it, and I just went back.
I wrote my own stuff again and went back to, like, what I knew for years.
They gave you PRs all time.
And, like, it can't break what works, you know?
What got you in lifting to begin with?
Yeah.
What made it?
So I used to, I used to run a lot.
I used to get done.
I would get done work.
And I was, yeah.
Fucking weird.
Yeah, at one point, I was running again.
I was down to, at one point, I was 274,
And I worked my way down to 194 pounds.
Oh my God.
And now I'm back.
I got all the way back now back at 250.
So I can't really say I kept them off.
But I didn't keep it off for quite some time.
And like I would come home and run three to five miles a night.
Fuck that.
Yeah.
And then if it got cold, I would just go.
I was at plant fitness.
So I would just go there and just run.
And then my knees, my knees like.
My knees started clicking real bad.
And one of Jen's friends, one of Jen's girlfriends was into lifting.
And she was body builder and they got her in powerlifting.
And she was like, listen, the way you're built, she's like, you should just try power lifting
and see if you like it.
And that just kind of stuck.
Like she gave me a basic program and I followed it.
And it was just, it was a, there's a guy in Philly named Colin Whitney who has the power bill
gyms.
And there's, he's got like three of them now.
And it was his very first program he ever wrote was free on the,
Warhouse website for a while.
And I've downloaded that.
And that's what I followed for like
three years until I switched
something. So wait, does
Jen, she obviously knew you when you were
skinny then?
So when I met Jen, I was 205.
Okay.
I was skinny.
Probably
She's staying around.
Does she like you skinny or the way you are now?
She
I think she prefers this just because like
it's not just skinny
like there's muscle there now
nice you're not just skinny fat
yeah it's not just skinny fat anymore
what is this uh you have a frame singlet
in your gym I want to hear about it
I do yeah so I had one of the
I had one of the original massonomics ones
that said you can get an input on the back
and I had the big massonomic logo with the lift logo
on the bottom which I guess I
could be considered banned merch now, right?
Yeah, anything with the Lippo?
Yeah.
And so I actually have two of them.
I have a red one that's red and black.
And then I have another one that is all black with the red logo on it.
And that one, my buddy framed for me, I think two Christmases, maybe last Christmas.
He shows up in my eyes.
He has it all framed and everything.
And I was going to bring it with me as a backup to the LiftArt of the Bezi that year.
Jen's like it.
Jen's like, no, you don't have to do that.
I never put two and two together that she had taken it.
Ah, I got you.
Oh, crap.
Good thing you didn't shit yourself.
Yeah, that's very true.
I think you had a backup single at that one year.
Yeah, well, I brought two that here, you know, with that Keith head one.
A Keith head one was the best.
Yeah, I really hope.
I hope Ryan, like, figures out someone to give it to.
if anyone I'm listening
somewhere somewhere between like
220 and 300 pounds
you can probably squeeze into that thing
for at least one lift
and have a good time with it
and keep keep keep that would be funny
but actually wouldn't it be more funny
if like oh yeah
it's just hung off of them
because they could just put it on for their
they could like put it on over their regular singlet
just for their opener and just like
it would just be draped over it like this
like when
Peter Griffin lost 5,000 pounds, whatever.
It just would just be like a skin suit.
That would be so funny.
Yeah.
When he walked out at the lift,
he's like that.
I'm like, shit.
Yeah.
I love it.
Oh, my God.
I was like, you do not have to wear this.
I don't care if you wear this, but you had mentioned a year ago that you wanted to
wear it.
So I'll bring it.
I was going to say, like, did he asked to wear it or you just gave it to him to wear?
He had brought it up.
or maybe I put it out there who who's going to wear this next year or something as like a joke and he like reacted or responded.
I can't remember and I kind of held him to it to at least just be like, you don't have to, but here you go if you would want to do it.
And he saved it just did it for deadlifts, which is fine.
It was really funny.
Yeah, it's awesome.
It's still funny.
Yeah, I hope someone wears it next year.
I can't wait to see who it is.
Yeah.
Between that and seeing like the key head on a stick, I love seeing them.
just stones the background.
Oh, those were the best.
The tattoos this year definitely were
swinging a mist, but only because, like,
nothing anyone was going to put a tattoo on.
That was a scissory later.
Yeah. There was, they also weren't cut up.
Yeah.
I apologize. I was like, I had no idea
that's the way they were going to come.
That's all good. I thought it was funny.
And, like, also it was like,
what do I do? And then, like,
you guys had talked about temporary tattoos
and I'm like, all right, I'm going to do
temporary tattoos this year.
and then other people did have very tattoos.
Like, some.
Mo had some,
but the Moes were funny because me and Joey's looked for good,
but Nate's,
I can't remember who it was,
but Nate looked like a different human.
Like,
for the life of me,
I can't think of who it was,
but I was like,
this isn't.
It didn't just, like,
look like scantz?
Maybe.
I really don't remember.
I just,
I remember it just being funny because I was like,
it's supposed to be Nate,
but it doesn't look like Nate.
Oh, good stuff.
Um, so Sean and I were chatting tonight about,
uh,
he knew I was doing this obviously and he's like oh good I can watch football in peace
but he's like I and then he was it because he went to the fantasy football on Sunday and then
obviously the first game was last night which is was Wednesday and then he's watching it tonight
and I'm like what night aren't you going to be watching football until February and he goes it's not
every night I'm like no it's just not Tuesday he goes no it's not Wednesday either I'm like
then why the fuck did they play last night?
I go, that's how they get you.
They're going to fucking play every fucking night.
They're going to be watching football all the time.
So anyway.
The only one that can't do is Saturday.
Well, not until later on the year, but there's like a thing with college football.
But they still do.
They still do later.
Yeah.
All right.
But anyway, all that talk to be like, you obviously, does Jen feel the same way?
Because you obviously love football.
You're a commissioner apparently of something.
Like, I need to hear how you do it and what she feels about it.
So, like, I enjoy it.
I do enjoy putting it on.
I put it on for years.
And I ran this league for years.
And then it kind of just, like, fell off.
I got tired to chasing people around for money.
Because we do do money.
And it used to be, it used to be like 125 a team.
And it got, like, got up there.
But I was also doing, like, people would get high, whoever got the high score,
got 20, 20 bucks that week.
Like, I would do things like that.
Oh, yeah.
Fun, yeah.
And I got.
tired of it and it's like some people
wouldn't pay until the last week. I mean, you are
killing me. You're killing me that.
Because you're the constant.
Yeah. So
I, so
I was golfing one day.
One of the guys that was in it was like, would you
ever consider opening it, but I'd bring it
back? And I was like, yeah,
but I wouldn't go crazy. It would just be 50 bucks.
Like 50 bucks. And with Venbo now,
I just want everything up front. Otherwise, I'll just
shut it down and not run to do it.
And he got me back.
This year is my first year back on it and everybody
had a blast. We had a blast doing it. I had a really good time. Everybody left. We hung out all night.
It was so much fun. We had it in a packed room at my brother's bar, so I reserved that room.
And we had put my airplay to the TV. We just have a blast. And then this year, I took up a, I messed around and started taking up coding, just like some place on coding.
And then I coded my own board. And it had sound effects and stuff. So it had like the DJ horns and the
Jeopardy sound and stuff like that.
Oh, it was so much fun.
She, believe it or not, I think she has a good time when she can come and get into it.
Because she'll start, she'll help me out.
She'll start handing stuff out.
Sometimes she'll keep track of the players going.
But then she also, like, will scream at people when they're taking too long.
So, like, when we get to, like, when there's, like, 30 seconds left, she starts screaming
30 seconds, and she starts laying into people out.
It's so much fun.
Like, it's just a good night of ball busting and just a really good time.
So basically she does what she would do if anybody's been left hard, live easy.
Yes.
Yes.
She yells at you, grow shit at you, whatever it is.
She is that person.
Yeah.
I'm the quiet one.
And then she just takes all the attention away from me.
Are you coming out of your show?
I think you've talked more on this episode than you did all the last one.
Oh, definitely.
Your word counts.
I'm starting to get to a point where I realize people's.
that's my problem is like I don't try to stay quiet to be an asshole which I have a story about that as well like it's more of like I you're an asshole my my like I must have like OCD that's getting worse as I'm getting work and my head just goes like a mile a minute every all the time all the time there's constantly something so like people will try to talk to me at lift target of easy and there's so much going on that I'm trying to talk to them and I can't think of
the next thing to say that like conversations would we just die off.
At one point in my life, this woman, I was, I was dating a girl and we were at her brother's house.
We're having a big fire.
And I got out there in the bathroom.
She followed me inside.
And she goes, I had like coming out of the bathroom.
She goes, why don't you talk?
And she's like older.
She's like 45 years old.
I'm like 36.
Right?
And I'm like, I don't know.
I was like, I don't really know a lot of people here.
So of course I'm going to be somewhat quiet.
Like I know I know her brother and I know her.
That's the fact about it.
And she was like, well, you not talking makes it seem like you're an asshole.
And you think you're better than everyone.
And I was like, I'm just being myself.
Fuck off.
But this was a girl, this is a girl you were dating.
I'm so confused.
Like this was, this was a woman at a party.
That math doesn't line up with how long you've been with.
Yeah.
So I was.
I was.
We were at a, we were at, like, like, we were just having a fire at my buddy's house.
And I was dating his sister at the time.
And then this woman lived down the street and she came with her husband.
And she doesn't even know me.
This is like the second time she's seen me.
And she followed me to the bathroom to tell me I was an asshole for not talking.
You're like, hey, bitch.
Have you ever heard of introversion?
Like, fuck off.
Just don't talk.
Like, maybe I don't talk to you, but I'm talking to everyone else.
It's the reason I'm not talking about.
Yeah, no, I had been livid.
And the worst part is like every so often
And it's going to sound very
But I would never do it
But every so often if we're all out
Like I still see that ex-girlfriend every once in a while
And she's fine we get along
Our families like each other
It is one of the
And that lady
No speakers are harmed right
No no speakers were harmed
But that lady
Different ex-girlfriend
Is in like the same like
So if you're familiar with Philadelphia
And Christmas time
At New Year's
They have a
a big, they have a big grade and they have the mummers, right?
So the mummers are like, they just dress up and dance and blah, blah, blah.
And I personally don't get it and I'm from this area.
I don't understand it.
But adults start drinking at like 3 in the morning or they just continue through the night
because it's New Year's Day and they just, there's music lasting and they just dance
with umbrellas and stuff.
I can send you like a picture of what they look like.
But she, but this woman that told me that is.
this this person that told me that is in that
is in that mummer's band with them so every so often
like if we're all out together she'll show up and I'm like god I just wish I could
just one of these times
yeah people are the fucking words
yes they are
I'm sorry to be quiet for a bit
was that right before you got together with Jen then because I didn't
realize you were I thought you were yeah
You said that you were 36 then and you're what, like 45 now, give or take?
No, so, no, wait, I was probably.
That's why the math didn't make sense because I'm like, no, she was.
I was like, she was older than me.
When the hell was I dating?
I've been together for 15 years.
So you would have, so you would have had to be fucking 57 right now if your story was accurate.
I had to be like 26, but she was older than me.
The best part about it is.
I just was like, he really threw me off when you said, you were 36.
Yeah.
But you weren't with Jen and I was like, wait.
So I grew up with her, I grew up with her brother.
And we used to party all the time.
Actually, the parties I used to DJ, DJ, he was on.
And we would always mess with him and be like, oh, why can't we dig your sister?
Let us get your sister.
Let it think your sister.
And eventually I did.
Nice.
But.
The gall to go up to someone.
Was she drunk?
Who goes up to sell, like...
She was a very big drinker, so she does get a little rowdy.
People are douchebags.
There's a lot of fucking people I don't want to be around with they're drunk.
But this is why people have problems because people like this lady.
Like, I don't mind you speaking your stuff, but that was like out of nowhere.
Yeah, I'm like, well, I feel like, because I don't like you, bitch, that's why I'm not talking to.
It wasn't like she ever tried to have a conversation with me.
It was just I wasn't talking amongst...
group of people.
And I mean, I don't like that either.
Well, I mean, it sounds like that she pushed you into this like solitary life to
where you don't like to go out or anything.
So now you're a big reader.
I don't know.
It sounds like she's becoming a reader now, right?
It's a bad segue because I, you know,
I think reading just came about like shortly after COVID and that shortly after
my mom passed away.
I started reading because I started to read like kind of self-help books.
that's where that all started.
I read like a main search for meeting and
things that they were talking about on the podcast at the time.
I was like,
oh,
maybe I'll give that a shot because I need something.
And then it just has branched out from there.
And I'm like through Stephen King's big thing,
which I really need to go over some Stephen King stuff
because the way he finishes his pre-cathom,
like he builds this giant fight up and the way he ends up.
I'm like, God, you suck.
Yeah, I don't.
It is true.
I never really thought about it.
And he did it like, insomnia was really good.
But the way he ended, like the, I'm going to get a lot of hate for this.
But the way that he ended the Dark Tower, I was like, that's it.
It was seven books and that's it.
I think I only got through like one and a half of those 15 years ago.
I will say it's a very, it's a very, very good book and series.
but he just rambles way too long.
Like he loves to just draw things out forever and ever and ever.
And then it gets to its climax to this point and it just dies.
And you're like, what just happened?
I'd be very annoyed at that.
I think you're selling not to pick back up the Dark Tower.
I had to read the Stand too because that kind of intertwines with the Dark Tower series.
Is that what that was?
I watched the series a couple.
There's a couple different series I watched over the years.
The stand as a book was awesome.
And then you get, like, same thing, man.
Like, you get to the end.
And I'll, if you've seen the series, then I'll kind of, I'll ruin this.
I'm sorry, spoiler or whatever, but the book's like 40 years old or something like that.
But the way he ends, the bad guys are like from a viewpoint that is, like, from a viewpoint that is 30 miles away.
And I'm like, what you?
It just made some no sense.
Yeah, I could see that.
There's a, I don't know.
I struggled to read his book, so I'll read it.
Yeah.
It takes me forever to read it.
And then I've never, no.
I did really like, like, the, what's the face one?
We all read, the one with Rocky and everything.
Oh, yeah.
Fuck.
Project.
I know.
Okay.
Project CalMare.
You're still talking about
fucking Stephen King for a second.
Yeah, no, no, no.
What Stephen King book did we talk about recently?
So I blew, I blew, Project
Calmeria, I couldn't put down a lot.
Yeah, that was great.
And then the Whisper Man that we were
just talking about in Discord, I loved
that book. I couldn't put it out. I thought it was
so good. And then the movie
came out, I watched the movie, and I was like, they
rushed. They took certain
things out, and they brushed everything in that movie,
and I was like, down something they mixed it.
Yeah, I haven't watched that. I haven't watched
whispered man yet so don't see what i mean you can read the book first because the book was actually
really i know i wish i could remember what i was chatting with keith about i it was it was like half a year
or more ago but he loved the show and i had read the book and i was so sad about the show what
dark matter no it was no because it had i want to get into uh i want to get into uh i want to get
in the red rising but like i have so many things on my list that i'm like i type
I need to focus on, I want to start getting through these small books first.
I think we've talked in the past, you're a physical media.
You don't like the audiobooks or you can't do the audiobooks at work or anything.
I can do the audiobooks.
What did I listen to?
I did 1984 on audio.
That was good.
I did the book.
I did the, what was the other one?
It was like 1984 that Warren.
It wasn't normal.
Anyway, it doesn't matter.
But I just did.
the Buffalo Hunter Hunter on audio
and that was pretty good. I could get through that.
Like that was easy.
Once they start, once things are like,
I'm listening to them on my way into work,
but I'm also trying to pay attention for deer
and stuff like that too. So I'm like not fully
invested. And once
they start adding a brave new world,
they kept adding characters and adding characters.
I'm like, I cannot pay attention to this at all.
Oh, shoot.
Yeah.
I just started to
well,
for the trip down to Texas,
I'm like, you know what?
I finished my book and I have no other ones in the house that I can read.
And my son's left and took all his books.
So I went to the store and actually bought a book and I bought dungeon crawler.
Oh, good.
So I'm like halfway through.
I don't know if I said that right, but I'm halfway through that one.
Dunging crawler, Carl, yeah.
It's hard to say.
I'm like halfway through.
I love it.
They're not bad.
Like, I don't think they're as good as people say they are.
but I enjoy it, but it's just a weird.
It's like, it's not like in-depth.
It's literally like playing a video game.
It's not an actual book.
There's like no character.
I personally don't feel there's been any character development whatsoever.
And I've read all fucking eight of them.
And I'm like, there's minor character development, but it's not like, I don't know.
But just enjoyable.
Yeah.
They are enjoyable.
I like them, but they're not amazing.
They're on my list.
So I got, I got to get into them too.
But those I mean, I think I'm going to just buy the set of those and like actually.
because I'm physically reading that.
But, man, I love
listening to a good book, too, though.
And especially if it's a good, like a good,
what do you call him?
Voice person.
Yeah.
Narrator.
I'm on one now that's like,
it's called Catalyst. It's like the Catalyst series.
And it's like a,
like a solar flare,
with everything out on Earth.
We have no, like, there's no electricity or anything.
It's a well about survival, but it's like, I just, I can read like two or three chapters,
and I just can't stay with it.
So that's all I'm doing, like, every night I read like 20 pages.
So I'm like, all right, that's awesome.
I have those.
So you love reading, but, man, you have a lot in common with my son and my husband.
I read, but it looks like you like to play video games too.
So, and let's talk about the video games.
So you have a PS5, you have a computer.
Yeah, that PS5 right now that just came,
there was like an open box deal at Best Buy, so I bought that.
And I just, I tried to start playing Spider-Man because that one really, like,
intrigued me a lot.
And then come to find out that I have really bad motion sickness on anything that is moving around too much.
So trying to, like, focus on something on the screen and then having to look for bad people and stuff,
I'm like, it just, it upsets my stomach.
And then I got to, I can only play for, like, shift.
d minute
for the time.
So what do you play?
Like,
can you do sports and stuff then?
Right now,
I was on NHL 2000.
Now I'm on MLB,
or like 2005.
And then I do have got to work because for some reason I can play that one.
It's weird that like that one's like,
you hop on people,
we got to press the buttons at the same time.
So you're not physically looking all over the place.
And you're not like kind of following one thing.
It's weird. I can play that one. Can't play Spider-Man.
I should hook you up with my son and my husband.
Because Sean learns all the sports games.
I was looking at they have motion sickness glasses that you can put on.
And it's like brims. And then they have brims on the side.
So it like blocks everything off.
And I was like, you're going to come down here and I'm going to have these ridiculous glances.
God damn it.
You guys can watch Ted Lassow.
I love Ted Lasso.
Last night's episode,
like had motion to sit his glasses on it.
Yeah,
you'd watch last night's episode.
I wanted to talk about it earlier,
but I wanted to keep bringing it up,
but now that she brought her back up,
when Beard got rejected because he was old,
it was the funniest.
She, like, so, like, one of the characters was talking,
like, was hitting it off of this,
with, you know, the male character was hitting off the female character.
And then, you know, he went in for a kiss.
It was like super smooth.
And she was just like, no, you're, you're old.
old.
Sorry, spoilers.
Well, I guess by the time this comes out, I'll be.
Yeah.
I've watched it by the minute.
I've seen the other ones.
I just got to get into the new season.
It's not bad.
I don't mind it.
I think it's fine.
Like, my son was where he won't, he like refuses to watch it.
I'm like, dude, it's a completely different set of characters.
You should, you'll like it.
Anyway.
Sorry.
Sorry to bring that up again.
Just weird that.
You're talking about those glasses, and I actually learned about those glasses last night.
You take it, take a drama, I mean, before I come down and play it in an video game.
It's a little ridiculous.
Oh, that's crazy.
Oh, Keith.
My God.
So much stuff.
So you are one of the, were you our first bass player?
Did we talk about bass last time?
So we did not talk about it last time, but you could add me to the list of base players.
You were the base player.
but technically you are the first base player then by
retroactive you know
I think Kevin has a list somewhere
Yes you can have me to that list Kevin
If it's if it's somewhere
I don't have one still
I sold it short like right before we moved
To this house
I sold my amp and my base
Because I really just didn't play anymore
It just sat at my parents' house
I took lessons for like three years
And then started working a lot
So I canceled the lessons
I just didn't have time to do it anymore
and then it got to the point where I could actually pick up a guitar,
listen to a song, and slowly work it out.
And I was like, oh, cool, I'm getting kind of good at this.
And then I just stopped playing.
Everything I do in life is like I kind of get good at it.
And then I just stop.
So you're like Wesley.
So, yeah, you kind of have like a bunch of hobbies and you just do them just good enough.
So I know for sure you talked about
smoking meats and stuff on the original, the OG episode.
No, the original, yeah, today.
But, because I remember chicken was one of your favorites to smoke.
Like whole chickens, whole chickens, yes.
But then, I don't think you talked about beer.
And so we're seeing a lot of stuff about brewing beer,
you're a beer snob, like, what's your evolution of beer?
And how did you get into, like, I think of beer.
I would not say that I make beer snob so much because I'll still drink a
I'll still drink a Pax or high life or something like that, yeah.
I mean, I do like IPAs, but like only because I like what they use to put in them
and the various hops and the flavors that you get from and stuff like that I do enjoy.
But like this science behind brewing it, I never went like, I never went full like they have,
there's kits that you can buy that you can brew within like two and a half to three hours,
depending on what setup you have and stuff like that.
And then there was, they have all-grained kits, but that's like an all-day affair.
And I just never went all-grain because I don't have six hours to sit here and steep this thing.
And then filter it all out.
Yeah, screwing that.
And then move to, yeah, I don't, I can't do that.
I don't have that time.
You can go buy good beer.
I still have everything, but it's like few and far between that I'd do it.
But it was like, there was a beer back in the day by Troyes in Pennsylvania.
It was called Hotback Amber Ale.
And they recently stopped making it.
but it was by far one of my most favorite beers.
It was just like drinking and yingling,
but it had a little bit of a bite to it.
That was so good.
And I loved it,
and they stopped making it, of course.
That's,
I feel like that kind of,
and then he can't,
then he loses it.
Yeah,
that got me into it,
and then I started brewing some stuff here and there.
I think Jen got me my first little kit.
And I thoroughly enjoy,
like the fact that,
like,
you're,
you're brewing up all the,
sugar and then you add yeast and yeast eats the sugar and then makes alcohol as
i just enjoy the science behind it and then i treated like a i treated like a baby when i do brew
because i come down and check on it every like two hours to make sure everything's going all right
so like our last house was rough because i had to do it in like a back room in a closet
and that's where it was ferment so like all night long the closet was like on the other side of
Rooms, you would just hear that they go, boom,
boom, boom, all night long
it was just fermenting.
Oh my gosh.
Well, if you had to pick
one, disc golf or golf golf, what do you
keeping?
I definitely
regular golf more, but
disc golf is free.
And it calls them very little to get into.
And it is cool because like, it's like, it's like,
no, not like I, you can buy like a
you can buy a driver, a fair
away and a potter off
of Amazon for 20 bucks
No, okay, so it is very...
Yeah, yeah. And then if there's
a park by the hazy, you just walk through the park,
walk around the park, gets you out, you're
moving, but I do enjoy both. I mean,
I just got off on Monday, too, so
I'm not very good, but I do enjoy
golf. I've never
heard of car. I've never taken anybody's
windshield out.
That's funny.
What's a...
Nope.
You have a, I didn't know this.
You have a, you have a, a version of being poked?
You don't like being touched, or is it like, like, like someone,
is he not wanting to get poked, but is it weird?
Is it me or is it?
My sister does not like to get poked.
Oh, that would be like, if they described that as.
That'd be weird.
Yeah.
I mean, people do misunderstand the questionnaire, I guess.
It's, it's some shit that like, like, as, like, when I was younger,
we used to do it to each other.
all the time. And it would just be like we would just walk past each other and just poke each other
and just poke each other and just poke each other and we drive her drive me and her but crazy.
It's just something we did. That's like my mother when to say hello to us like if we were
driving past in the car or something like that, my mom would instantly flip us the bird. That's the way
my mom was. That was her way to say hello to us.
Oh.
Speaking of getting stabbed, anyone that didn't listen to the drunken uncle
podcast where you were able to go into your story.
I don't know how in-depth you want to go into your stabbing story.
I can do it pretty quick.
I can do three minutes, I think, is a fair story.
So as I said earlier, we got, we knocked down two sheds in the backyard.
Where we wanted to put the new shed, there were some low hanging branches.
So I had to cut the branches.
I used a pulse-all, cut the branches down.
Then what I do is I'd like to chop them all down.
So they're in a pile and I can just scoop the pile up and run them back to the woods
because their foot was behind their house.
The one was like a black cherry tree,
and it was all rotted.
And it would not cut.
Like, I couldn't cut it like a pair of like hedger,
like,
like hedge cutters.
So what I did was I just grabbed the branch.
I pushed it forward.
And when I broke,
the branch I was holding,
went forward,
the branch I was stuffing on and went backwards.
And I stumbled and it went right into the bottom side of my calf.
And I didn't,
I didn't think it was that bad at the time.
And I looked at it and I was like,
can you go?
inside and get me like I told
I screamed the Jen
because she's sitting there
can you just go inside
and get the Brock died
and talk the white
would cut off with
she's what you do
and I was like
oh there's a stick of my leg
so I just slowly pulled it out
pulled the stick out of my leg
it was like it was in an inch or two
wasn't there at least an inch right
yeah it was like a three quarters of an inch man
but it went like here's or like if you're
it went up like where like the
it went up but then it splittered
and when it splintered they went
they went the opposite way so
So she cleaned it all out.
We pulled out what we could at that time.
And then it started like flaring up real bed.
She get tweezers.
You're in there with like needle nose long.
Like you're your fucking.
Needle nose pliers.
She had like a pair of a pair of a,
she had a pair of tweezers and it was pulling out what she could see.
And then she cleaned it real good.
And then it started to like turn red and flare up real bed.
And that was like two weeks later we finally went to the hospital.
Oh, you jumped around for 14 days.
Yes.
she slice it open.
Gross.
And like,
so at the hospital,
she slices it open.
And I couldn't watch it that part.
I was like,
I can't watch you cut in my leg and I can't feel it.
They had to numb it,
right?
They didn't just like cut your scalp.
Yeah,
she numbed it bent inside and then,
and then cut it open.
And she starts squeezing,
and as soon as she swees with little pieces,
little piece of stick like just popped out.
And she grabbed it.
And she's like,
there it is.
Ugh.
So they left it.
They left it open.
And I couldn't bench or do,
I couldn't do anything because the pressure that was in it,
as soon as I would bend my leg back to get ready for bench,
it would just pop open and start leaking it.
And then I came home one day.
So now we're three weeks into it.
I get in,
I come home one day and Jen is like,
what is that?
I go,
I think it's just like a piece of stab or something.
And she was like,
that's another piece of stick sticking out of that.
So she grabs a pair of tweezers,
walked over to it,
and grabs it and pulls it
and pulls out another piece of the stick.
Gross.
And then like through the week, like, I had a, I must,
I've gotten cellulitis because like everything from the wound down would just swell up,
like throughout the day.
And it would just be red and hot.
And so we went back to the,
the hospital again.
They did some CT scans and stuff,
but my red blood cells weren't elevated.
So I wasn't technically fighting off an infection.
It just needed to heal that.
So, yeah, that was the stick.
story.
I'm glad that you're coming off of it, though.
Yeah, when I got back into,
when I started to lift again, I was like,
I was like, oh, it doesn't feel good, I'll take a light for a week.
And then I finally got going heavy.
And like, I never realized, like, why people could get called
for one side of their hit not being low enough.
And now I know why.
Yep. Yeah.
It happens.
Yeah, it's, it sucked.
It didn't tell you.
Well, I,
I mean, it sucks, but is it as, I don't know how to do it.
I don't know how to do transitions like you.
I don't know what the segue is, so I can't jump in.
So do your best.
You got it, Jen.
I got faith in you.
Now we're all watching.
Everyone's ready.
I was trying to think of how I could change that to a poop story.
The poop was coming out of your leg, but yeah.
Like, you did have shit coming out of your leg, but it wasn't literal.
There you go.
See, now, just ignore what she said for the first 45 seconds.
That tail end was a good segue.
We can, we can, so I do have to speak.
I want to ask you two things, though, about poop.
First of all, why in the hell do you have to do it naked?
What is what about that?
Naked shit.
I knew.
I knew that was coming.
How would I know that somebody is going to put that on there?
But anyway, yeah, for a very long period of my life, I did like to go to take a
shit naked. And it kind of
didn't matter where I was.
The note's just less younger.
Yeah, I was probably
fucked up your math earlier when you said you were
34 when you were 20. So like, let's figure
this out. Let's get a calendar.
It probably stopped and like, it definitely stopped
before I hit like double digits.
So I was probably like eight or nine years old.
Okay.
Could you imagine
you're in high school and you're like
taking all your clothes up because you have to go
take it? Like what? Imagine?
Imagine, like, you walk into a public bathroom and you look under it and you don't see, you don't see pants around this person's legs.
Like, where are your pants at?
They're just hanging over the stall door.
That's why they gave you a hook back there, right?
Yeah, yeah.
They have all your clothes.
Wait, would you take your socks off in public, too, to shit?
Maybe.
No, no, I don't think that was a kid, though.
Yeah, I was a kid.
But, like, even when you're a.
home, man.
Like, right before you
you hop the shower, you take you shit-
and get, I get shit naked
multiple times a week because I'm getting ready to take a shower.
But that's,
I don't take my clothes off.
I was doing it.
Put my clothes back on and go on with my day.
My clothes come off and take a second.
Don't you hate when you're sitting on the side of the tub?
It's never fucking,
oh, God, I fucking hate you so much.
You're in your fake stories that don't actually exist.
You fucked.
When she was telling me that,
that, that, that had me dying.
I can just
I could just hear Matt
cracking up
good still here
laughing too
he's just fucking
he laughed so well
oh my god
oh man
I was the best
I'm sorry
but yes yes yes I wasn't
a vegan sugar for quite a while
well I think we have to
there are other shit stories
or we have to segue in
yes
we're already talking about the
the public restroom
defeat was there a joke
he used to play on a coworker
with like hiding
yeah
hear that one and then we got more shit stories after that the general
get back to you know
yeah so there was a
old guy named Barron and Barron
had irritable the irritable bowel syndrome
and he would
he would literally like has to run
no he did not try to say it however
he would run to the bathroom
like in our one shot there was like one bandtnery
it was across the shot from him
and one day I was just like
I got to mess with them I used to mess with them all
time, it was all dumb stuff.
There was like a pair of shoes back
there from somebody to quit. There were still
uniforms back there. So I like jammed
a bunch of shirts and some pants and put them
over the sneakers and then locked
the door to the stall.
And I see him back there. He has this coffee.
I know as soon as he's done like, you know his routine.
As soon as he's done it's coffee, he's going to jet
for that banter. And he rung back there
and he comes walking back out and he just walked back
over his spot. Don't say a word.
I see no 20 minutes to his pot.
walks back over there, walks back
out.
The shoes are still sitting there, the door's still locked,
everything. I'm trying
so hard to hold this together.
Finally,
by the third,
by the third or by the third or fourth time,
he goes in there and he goes,
walks back out,
who the fuck is in the back through?
He is trying
so hard and figure it out.
Finally,
he looks over at me,
and I'm under this car.
Hysterical.
I'm on my hands and these.
I'm missing yourself laughing.
I can see.
He goes,
you mother effort,
runs into the battery,
unlocks it.
You see the pants
and the shoes come flying out.
Oh,
God.
Another short story with him,
I also took the toilet seat off one time,
and I just took it with me,
and he took a shit without the toilet seat.
I would die.
I mean, that's half to.
That's not a big deal.
That's unbelievable.
It wouldn't be the gross thing I had to do at work that day, probably.
That was by far the funniest prank that I've done on that.
Oh, that's hilarious.
I hope he got your back.
I hope he got your back good because that's fucked up.
Yeah, you mess with it.
Because when you got to go, you got to go.
How that fuck didn't he hold it for 20 plus minutes?
So he, at one point, I'm actually shocked he got that long.
It was probably close to 40 minutes.
and he uh he he was like 55 at the time and he used to go he used to go
uh hunting around the corner from where we worked and he would come he would come racing in
and he would go in because he knew there was a bathroom there and he would go to the mansion
while he was hunting one time he came in the floor was wet and he slipped and fell and shit himself
and that was so it's fun i'm shocked he held it that long it was so he just laid he just laid
in the middle of shop and was like,
I was like, what's up?
He's like, I just shit myself.
Is this our first
shit story vicariously
through someone else?
I can't remember.
Yeah,
one of the few.
One of the few.
That's actually really funny.
Oh, my God.
I had a lot of fun in shops, man.
I had so much fun in shops.
Those, but, yeah.
It sounds like your coworkers might not have.
I'm sure they got that.
I might be an asshole,
but I still help that dude out.
Well, at least you're not asshole because you talk.
That's how it works.
You're an asshole for other reasons.
Yes, for other reasons.
Because I like to play pranks.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean, okay, so due to time, we know that you love to travel,
but let's mix a shit story with a travel story.
And let's hear about what the hell happen at Key West and you shitting.
Oh, that's not really a shit.
Oh, no.
This is, this came at the other end.
said. But so this is
my sister living in Key West for
sometime with her ex-husband
and she worked at a place
called the rum barrel down there. It was a little by
Jim Croce who owns the Sixers.
So we always had a place to go down there. I went down there.
I've been down there three times. This time
was with Jen.
Jen and my whole family. We go out.
We're at the rum barrel.
I've been drinking all day. Jen had left. She went back.
She's not a very big drinker. So she left. She left.
went back to the hotel room she's sleeping.
I'm still out with my sister
and my brother-in-law at the time.
And he goes,
oh, you want to do a shot? I go, yeah.
Oh, the bartender at the time, who knew them was like,
do you guys want to do a shot? And he's like, yeah, I'll take a shot
to Yeager. And he looks at me and goes, what do you want?
I go, anything but anything but Yeager.
I said, I can't do it. He goes,
how about a black Robbie? I go,
well, what's the back Robbie? He's like,
I'll show you. He turns around,
and by the time he turns around,
I could even get it out of my
before I can even say
what's a black robbie he puts it down in front of me
he goes Yeager so
now it's in front of me now I have to
do this shot of the egg
so that works
he puts something down in front of you that you didn't ask
right I'm paying for that he's a dick
but it's not happening
well I wasn't paying it so it didn't matter
but uh so I do the
shoddy yager and the problem with that is that
as I've said before
with Lifthardt easy if Jen's there I
kind of I didn't
The wheels stay on a little bit, as you say.
It's not there.
You're saying you're getting fucking shit hammered.
I've been better throughout the years.
This was, the wheels came off that night.
And I think there was another four or five shots of Yeager after that.
And then on top of all the beer, we were still drinking.
Then I slowly stumbled back to the apartment, or not the apartment, the hotel room you're saying that.
And then climbed in the, climbed in the, kind of the,
bed, walked in, climbed
into bed, she's like, oh, you smell
great.
Because, of course, I woke her up.
I wake up a couple hours later
with the room spinning. I get up
out of bed. I
try to make it to the bathroom
and cannot make it.
As I'm slowly
getting around the corner to the bathroom, I did
projectile vomit.
From the sink
in the bathroom all the way across
all the walls all over her makeup bag.
Oh my God.
Stop it.
Oh, Jesus Christ.
This was very early in our relationship,
and I am shocked that she stayed with me,
because there is more to the story that I will come.
And so I project all across the whole bathroom into the tub.
The only place I probably didn't get it was the toilet where it should go.
So now she's in there cleaning it.
I'm trying to help.
I am useless at trying to help clean it up.
She forces me in the shower.
I get a shower from what I remember.
Then go and climb back into bed.
Now, the night still goes on.
Eventually, she wakes up.
She's freezing cold.
Right?
Freezing cold.
She reaches down.
She is soaking wet.
Oh, fuck off.
You're like that.
Not a fucking twin beds, not a fire or two.
And she stayed with you.
And she stayed with me.
Oh my God.
That's a perfect example why you get two beds, not one bed in a hotel room.
That was not my proudest moment at all.
Wow.
I mean, it could have been worse.
To be fair.
You could have wrote her a note that said, just please clean up the puke and left
on the back.
Right.
Right, Nathan?
So in 15 years, I think, in 15 years, I've only, I think I've only puked twice.
from alcohol.
So,
but it's not terrible.
I mean,
it's a good average.
Damn.
That was not my proudest
moment down there,
maybe.
That was bad.
And she did not let me,
well,
then the worst part
was like the next day,
dude,
I was just,
I was done.
Like,
I was like,
she was like,
you do not feel good to you?
I was like,
no.
And then eventually we got to the point
where like, I'm just drag it,
drag it, drag, drag it.
She's like,
just have a drink.
So I finally just had a drink
and that's straightened me
right out and I was good to go again.
Oh.
Hair of the dog, buddy.
Yep.
It does work.
It does.
It seriously does.
Yeah.
When I say it was everywhere,
he was everywhere.
Oh my God.
Okay.
I think I'd rather hear a poop story than a few story.
Yeah.
Oh, Keith.
Are we ready for us to start some games?
Yeah.
I'll let you do yours the long that takes before I might not do Rushmore.
We'll see.
We would have a pretty much.
Okay.
That sounds.
Good. So, Chris, I obviously, we're friends. We chat almost every day. We talk a lot about work and
office spaces. So I created this fun little game for you called Would You Rather Office Edition?
And so I'm going to give you a couple, I'm going to give you a topic, two topics. And you have to, you have to pick one. You can't. You have to live with your choice. So we're going to do this. So I think I have,
We'll see how it goes.
We'll see how long it takes.
But, all right.
So I'm going to start you off with a softball.
We'll see how it goes.
So for me, it's 8 a.m.
And for me, it's 4 p.m.
So on a Monday, 8 a.m.
And a Friday, 4 p.m.
is my earliest and my latest meeting that I can actually have.
So I need you to pick your early.
If someone schedules a meeting for you on Monday morning, first thing, or Friday afternoon, last thing.
You have to pick one.
So if there, I'm going to go, I'm not going to lie, I'm going to go Monday morning, just get it out of the way.
And the reason why I'm doing that is because the only reason I'm doing that is because, well, if we're going off my schedule, I get in at five, everybody else gets in at seven.
So the earliest I could have a meeting at seven o'clock.
And they have done to me.
Yeah.
And like today, like I told you today, they sent me a meeting at 155 when I'm supposed to leave at 1.30.
for a 2 o'clock meeting.
I'm like,
that's not happening.
Sorry, guys, decline.
I'll see you guys later.
I would do,
I would definitely do Monday,
Monday morning because on Friday's like,
like, we have this weird hybrid work schedule.
So like, technically,
I'm already over the amount of time I need to be there.
And I,
like, if you're there, the three days
that you're supposed to be on site,
you can leave.
Like, you can,
have six hours in and go home and work the rest of your two hours,
I hope.
Right?
So on Fridays, so on Fridays, I'm like, at noon, I believe it.
Quote, unquote, work from home.
I love working from home.
Yep.
All right.
Let's keep a roll on.
All right.
So next one is, I'm going to save one of them for the end.
Okay.
Would you rather have small talk?
So the meeting started.
and people are small talking
and you're listening to
How's the weather?
What'd you do this weekend?
Or would you rather have that
or a mandatory icebreaker every meeting?
Which one?
Are these now?
Are these in-person meetings?
They can be virtual or in-person.
Well, I'm taking the small talk at the beginning.
At least the small talk,
I don't have to get involved.
The icebreaker
it kills me every time.
Because it is like, you expect me to be this happy person that I'm here.
And you want this amazing answer of a nice break around with me.
And I'm like, no, you're not, you're not getting that at all.
Especially I don't prep you with it.
We had to have an ethics meeting one time because a guy got fired for breaking the rules of ethics.
And she came around the room.
Yeah.
And she came around the room.
And she was like, what are your pronouns?
And I was like, I don't care.
I really, she was like, you don't, she's like, you don't, you don't, you don't, you don't, you don't, you don't really like, you don't want to be like them, they, her.
I don't care.
As long as I know you're talking to me, I could care less what you call me.
I don't care.
So then that they have to have a meeting after that because you were insensitive?
I don't think I was insensitive.
I gave you an honest answer.
And they didn't say anything.
So you asked me what they were.
I don't have any, so I don't have any.
I don't care.
But, yes, I would take the small talk at the beginning
because eventually that meeting is going to start,
and they will stop.
That's true. And I don't have to it.
That is true. And you can turn your,
if you're, it's virtually, you could turn your camera off.
The in-person, that sucks.
Then you kind of go out.
All right.
Okay. A coworker,
so would you rather, a coworker that
constantly hums,
sings, whistles, or makes any kind of mouth
noise, or a coworker?
that comes in sick, coughing, sniffling, sneezing, blowing us.
You can answer these too, by the way.
I'll take the whistles because
the whistling and the noises, it is, like,
we are allowed to have headphones in, so I can kind of get rid of it, but at the same
time, like, I can get up from my desk and walk away.
Like, these guys, the software guys are at their desk all the time.
So, I can deal.
I could, like, we actually used the guy that we just retired.
He used to sing and home.
And like, whatever song he had just heard in the car on the way in,
he would do that, like, 90% of the day.
And like, all day.
And that didn't bother me nearly as much as somebody coming in and just sneezing and
coughing.
And then now I'm like, now I'm like, I can't touch anything at all.
I'm like, now I'm going to get it.
And then two weeks later, I'm sick and I'm complaining about this guy.
And I just don't want to come in and do more.
it's so true yeah keith i should i know that you're gonna have this but i'm actually kind of want to hear
some of your answers too that's a tough one like i'm my my tics get set off by like outside noises
then people wouldn't there shouldn't be noises like people talking on the phone because i have to
like if i work with a co-worker like if we're in a job side is one thing because we can't really like
a lot of that you can't really do but like like sitting in a van next to someone for an hour drive
or something if they just sit there and fucking we're being allowed and annoying and obnoxious the whole time
but also being sick next to him would be worse.
But also, like, I've got a pretty, there's times,
like, if someone comes in sick and we have an extra truck,
we're just, like, take the extra truck.
Like, I understand, like, we don't, we legitimately don't get sick time.
We only get a little bit of PTO.
So it's like, I go to work sick all the time,
but I do it when I know I can take an extra vehicle
and, like, distance myself from.
So, yeah.
When I was a mechanic, I had him,
me and this one guy lived right around a corner from each other,
so we would carpool way and every once in a while.
And on the way home one day,
he just randomly, he's in my car and starts cutting his fingernails.
Oh.
And every time, every time it would pop, it was, it was like nails on a chalkboard.
I would just be like cringe every time.
Finally, it got to the floor.
I was like, what are you doing?
I was like, what are you doing?
He's like, I'm cutting my finger nails.
I was like, and where are they going?
He said, well, I'm catching them.
I'm like, not all of them.
That's, that sound is my biggest pet peeve in the world.
I can't listen to my wife cut her fucking nails.
I have to, like, she has to, like, strategically do it when I'm in the basement,
like, blary music or something.
or I'll like fucking give her the stink of
I can't do it.
But it's like that little
you still can hear it
because yeah it's the worst.
The other day I was watching a movie
it was like I was downhill racer was like
a 1969 like sports movie it was actually
pretty good but there's like a scene where a dude's just
in his fucking hotel room it just starts clipping his nails
and it's just like in the background
and there's like another character talking or something
but it's just clipping his nails for like a like a two minute fucking scene
and I'm just like literally gagging
I'm like keeping
like having to not regurgitate I cannot stand that
fucking sound from other people.
Remind myself to bring nail clippers to the target.
No.
I'm just gone.
I'm kidding.
Pat us out.
Keith had nail clippers.
Okay.
So we'll do a couple quick ones because, like, quick ones.
Then I want to talk about a couple.
Okay.
So would you rather, since we just brought it up, would you rather have somewhat, a
coworker that has excessive cologne or perfume or cliffs or nails in the office?
Honestly, I would rather have the nails in the office.
any other reason
because a smell is going to be there all day, all day.
And smells like get, get, get.
And then next thing you know, I'll just have a headache from this smell
because this guy's wearing 30-year-old brute cologne.
And that's what I have to deal with all day.
And they just lather it on.
I'm like, ugh.
We had a, but we have a guy that sits next to us,
and that's why it makes me think of us.
He smells all the time.
Oh, it's just too much.
But same row, they were clipping their nails yesterday.
Like, what are we fucking doing in an office clipping our nails?
It's unacceptable.
Unacceptable.
No.
But at least it stops.
I mean, it's on their feet.
It does stop, but goddamn.
It's just so frustrating.
Okay, another quick one.
All right.
Would you rather have to deal with loud talkers?
So maybe you're just going along your business, doing your day work, they're loud talkers or slow walkers.
So you're caught behind slow walkers in the aisle or whatever it is.
Yeah, I'd rather have, honestly, the loud talkers,
because every so often they would probably say something that I would probably kind of find funny,
and I would just start laughing.
So these would be somewhat entertaining.
The slow walker just gets super annoying,
especially if it's like a tight hallway and I can't quite get anything.
Or somehow you start to swerving or something like that and you're trying to get around them.
Oh, that's brutal.
It's a tough one.
Yeah.
That one is a tough one.
But I would still do that.
Slow walkers.
I would still do the talkers.
I think I picked the slow walker,
only because I sit between two loud talkers and so when they're on their meetings.
I'm like, oh, my God, why are you talking so loud?
Yeah.
And they don't say anything funny.
So at least the slow walkers, I can make a joke.
They're like, hey, casting you on the left.
Like, I've been in the plant before.
and it's been like it's been somewhat quiet.
And like you'll just hear two guys yapping and they're talking pretty loud and they'll just start
busting each other's balls and I never expect it.
So it catches me off guard and I started laughing my head off inside the plant where it's supposed
to be like all professional or we're this nuclear power company and we're supposed to be these
professional guys and they're cursing at each other and just giving each other a hard time.
It's it doesn't get pretty funny.
All right.
Okay.
I'll make this the last one so we can get into some other things.
Okay.
So you have to pick, Chris, someone dropping by your desk first thing in the morning to chat,
or someone that says, happy whatever day it is, happy Thursday, happy Friday, happy Monday.
The one single guy does them both.
I can't.
That's so hot.
No, I, at least like, if he's just saying happy me,
well, so his thing is, it's just a great day in a nuclear neighborhood.
That's what I hear every morning, every morning, five days in a week.
That's what I hear.
And I think I would rather have that than have him walk around and talk to me like he does,
but he still does that every one.
I'll take the happy whatever every morning because him,
I have discussed this with you, but him coming around to my desk.
at 5.30 in the morning is the most annoying.
Like, I haven't even sat down yet, dude.
Go away.
I know.
I hate that.
I sent Grayson a list of my pet peeves today.
My work pet peeves, and he was cracking up.
Like, I think four or five of them are meetings at just different times of the meeting.
It's hilarious.
Anyway, all right, you passed a game.
You're going to have to live with your choices, though.
Remember those when you haven't had them.
Oh, Keith.
You want to hit him with those affiliates and then we can probably get into unpaid or underrated?
That sounds wonderful.
Yep.
We'll keep it moving here.
So my friends over at Beltfed Strength, make sure you go check those guys out.
You can still do Home GymCon.
As from what I hear, it gets more expensive as time goes on.
So make sure you get in there and get them early.
And then Jim Radar, Code Unpaid, gets you a free account over.
I heard those guys are great guys.
They are.
Big Chris,
I'm assuming we did not play any type of over under or unpaid.
We played unpaid and underrated.
Oh yeah, yeah, but it wasn't.
Yeah, I knew all the questions.
So it was like very like dumb down there.
I don't know that.
I did that way.
First episode, man.
You're big.
You're doing pretty good so far.
I mean, you're, I'm proud of you, buddy.
You're making me think this is a good idea.
open it up a little bit, right?
So anyone listening for the first time, because someone might be.
Well, we have a game we like to play here called Unpaid or Underrated.
We're going to give Chris somewhere between six to eight handpicked topics specifically for him,
and he can use his druthers and tell us if he thinks said topic is unpaid,
which would be overrated because no one wants to be unpaid or underrated, which means good.
So unpaid, bad, underrated, good.
Big Chris, unpaid or underrated foot massagers.
And what do you mean by
especially recently
it's vibrating
underrated
underrated so
I think like last year
or the year before that
these things became very big
where it's like
they have two opening holes
and you just slide your feet in
and then it like pushes air on them
and it has like constantly
things that move all around
and lately
I'll sit down here
but Jen's got like a beanbag thing down here
so I'll sit in the bean bag
with the foot massager on playing a video game
and it is the greatest thing ever.
So they are definitely underrated
because those things rock
although there's some weird
angle that I get on that gives me a Charlie horse
and like my whole calf like tightens up
and it's super weird.
Good cap or your bad calf?
I'm usually the left side
that's a good one.
Have you had a Charlie Horse
on the sliced up leg yet?
Not yet.
No, not since that happened,
but it does happen every so often.
but those things are
underrated
Unpaid or underrated
Formula 1
Oh
Let's go with the show
Not the actual sport
Do you watch the show
I guess first?
No, I've never watched the show before me
Oh man
So I right
All right so I know why somebody
Probably with this because I played
The Grand Trinso for like
Six months
straight.
Not a bad question.
Because now I'm like, and that's
probably the other reason why it's
Jen put it in there. It was because
Tommy started talking about
F1 quite a bit on the podcast.
And then out of nowhere, my algorithm started
to switch to F1. And like,
oh no.
I got in, like, there was a guy that makes these
funny videos about how teams like
manipulate the system. And they figure out
ways of like different aerodynamics and stuff
like that and things they can do and ways to break the
rules without actually breaking the rules.
And I found it very interesting.
So eventually, when I can wake up super early because all of them started like seven in the
morning, I'm going to say it's underrated.
I'll give you a whole thing because it's actually underrated.
Seeing what they do with the rules now is something I find very creative and like how teams
like Mercedes and Red Bull and stuff like that will read through the rules and then slowly
but surely break the rules with new things they add to their car.
and then
like in this guy's videos
were super informative
because they'd be like in a meeting situation
and they'd be like well
he can't have our dynamics
like he can't have a spoiler like
that does that
and he's like
technically our spoiler doesn't turn
all the way around
so we can't have like
split in half
and we can't have a spoiler like that
but I'm going to say
it's underrated for their engineering
way that they do stuff
it's very interesting
when you get it
nice
they're talented
unpaid or underrated
posed
submitted a couple different ways
so
weasers
okay so
we're gonna go with
weezer's cover of Africa
if that doesn't hit home
then just any cover
we hear you have strong
opinions on covers
weezer
yes I
I enjoy finding
covers that are good
weezer's cover of
Africa is
my least favorite cover
of all time
because at one point
weezer
Weiser must have paid
Pandora.
Is Africa like the rains down in Africa or is there a different song?
Yes, the rains down in Africa by Toto and whatnot.
When they did it, when that song came out, they must have paid Pandora
and they must have paid like a radio station.
Because that time I was driving like a 2002 Jeddah.
So all I had was the radio and a CD player.
I think the reader did a cover of the song.
I'm going to go find this.
Dude, they played that song.
It was like every five songs.
Vee five songs and then the Weezer song.
Five songs and the Weezer song.
something, let me just on. And then a guy at work would blare it. And I'd say, turn it off. Just turn it off. Just turn it off. I'm like, it's like the 20th time. It got to the point where I was keeping track of how many times I would hear it. And I'd be like, dude, it's like the 20th time they played this song today. How can you still enjoy this song? So under our unpaid, completely unpaid for that song. It is ridiculous how they just beat it into your head. And it got so popular and it played
Like you, at one point, it had to be like 2014 or 2015, maybe when it came out.
And it was like, dude, you turn radio.
It was on, it was on no matter what.
And I don't listen to the radio a ton.
But every time I put it on, it was all.
It's ridiculous.
That was like, right when I was probably didn't have Spotify or anything yet.
And I didn't listen to radio that then.
So I would have, that song was completely missed me.
All right.
And all we had at work was Pandora.
So we put the Pandora on and then it got big.
And the one guy liked an alternative station on Pandora.
And it would just, just bash it in the skull all day long for eight hours.
I'm like, oh, my God.
Did I talk about the radio in any point in general topics the last couple weeks?
Like, just like local radio stations?
I don't think so.
No, no.
Some reason I think my, I was, some reason I couldn't get my phone to sink or something.
Or I think my converter, because I don't have a plug in and regardless.
So I had listened to the radio basically for like my 10 minute drive to work,
my 15 minute drive to work.
And I haven't turned my radio.
I haven't listened to my radio in probably five years.
And like only one of the preset stations that were there from 15 years ago,
like,
was still a radio station.
Like there was just like,
or if it was saved,
it wasn't the station that it was five years ago.
And I was just like,
oh my God.
Like did I miss like or did these not exist anymore?
Like why am I getting static for something that I used to listen to like,
I knew.
I knew it like whatever,
like the first five, you know, preset stations where I could tell you, like, what they all were.
And I'm like, this is just not, these don't exist anymore.
Like, one of the five stations was like playing something at fucking, you know, six a.m.
A couple of weeks.
I got a kid out of that.
So my one, my one buddy has a knack for, like, doing things very quickly with his phone.
And a lot of it is like music where he ended and to mess with me, he will randomly just throw that song on.
And then that song plays.
And I'm like, please, please, please don't.
Please don't do this to me.
All right.
One more, and is it going to be music related because it's a funny story, it looks like.
So, all right, unpaid or underrated.
Choosing rage against the machine as your warm-up song in fifth grade at a Catholic school.
Yes.
Yeah, we did do that.
As a senior, is eighth grade basketball senior.
We got the chance.
They put in like a CD player and I went to Catholic school.
So it was like in an auditorium that went up and had a big team.
at the top and we were able to pick
what the song we wanted to play and I knew
bomb track didn't have any curse words in it
so we play so like
as we're warming up it's like
burn
in a Catholic school auditorium
so I'm going to say that's underrated
especially since that like
I was the captain of the team and got to pick the song
I love it
so what I love about these podcasts we get to like
bring back random memories from 30 years ago
And you're just like, wait, what?
All right, Keith, my turn?
Oh, yeah.
All right.
Damager.
Okay, unpaid or underrated?
The neighbor across the street.
He is.
So, odd.
Not to hear people's things out here, but he is unpaid, 100% unpaid.
He is a guy that likes to,
now people think
I'm an asshole for not talking and I think this guy's an asshole for over talking
because all he talks about is money and stocks and how he doesn't work
and his Tesla that he just bought is the greatest thing ever
and then recently we found out he also put his hand on his wife
so now he is very good very very on-paid
I will not talk to him he has tried to come
at one point he came over here with his daughter
and he tried to give me a THC drink
and his daughter is handing me this
THC drink. I'm like, what is wrong with you?
Like, your 8-year-old daughter is trying to hand me
this 200 milligram THC drink.
What is wrong with you?
And secondly, I can't take it.
I can't take it from me because I can't have it.
So he is unpaid,
especially for putting his handbook of his wife.
If I would have heard, she said that she screamed that night,
but it was at like 3 in the morning.
If I would have heard her scream, there would have been flowers.
So, yes.
Oh, no. Then you probably would have been jail.
Oh.
Yeah, something would have.
we've been slowly weeding out the bed neighbors around here so
that's so worse i i did not know it was going to go that way
he was he was he was supposed to he was supposed to be kicked out
and then somehow weasled his way is still staying there so he's still here so
weasel unfortunately
please all right okay unpaid or underrated cupcake set of barbecue
I'm for me.
I mean, listen, if we're talking like, I'm going to say unpaid because it was my own personal pick.
So, but also, like, if I'm not going to lie to it at like halfway through the barbecue,
if there's many, many cupcakes sitting there, I'm going to grab like two or three or there's cupcakes and jammed them my mouth.
So I'm paid.
When I turn my head
Oh, the best part is too.
I've got a buddy that I can send the audio,
the video file too now.
Sorry, I hope he,
damn, what time?
Oh, no.
I don't know.
Two hours and 17 minutes, Matt.
Chris sucked a dick on the monitor,
so go find that.
You want to know a funny thing about that noise?
When you're a mechanic
and somebody gets a really good job,
and you see you walk out of the parts of the apartment,
and they have the parts and you know what that job is.
We used to go, they'd walk around and everybody would have the room service writer.
And we'd be like, whoa.
I guess if they were sucking somebody off on truck.
Jesus.
They get a high paying, easy job.
Okay.
Last one for me.
Wrap it up.
Unpaid or underrated.
Catch up.
As a kid, I would say unpaid.
Because as a kid, I used to put it on.
everything. Legitimately
we put it on everything. As an adult
it was still in pain.
I still put it on stuff. Do you mean
underrated or are you getting the game mixed up?
I'm so concerned. No, yeah.
It sounds like you love fucking ketchup.
As a kid, dude, I put it on turkey.
It went on ham. It went on everything.
It was on every
holiday we had. Anything we
had, it went on there. Maybe not
like spaghetti or lezina because they already had tomato
on there, but like, yeah, it
It went on everything.
So, you know what?
I'll stick with it.
I'll say underrated.
As if it's underrated, it's not a trash comment.
Okay, I was getting confused.
Yeah.
Did you answer the ones accurately?
Because you could butcher, you threw me off.
I think I did.
I think it did.
The first run was the guy, unpaid.
The guy is definitely unpaid.
Yeah.
And cupcakes at a barbecue.
I feel like he's underrated.
I think I'm mixed them as well.
I'm pretty sure I did.
Not a little comparison.
God damn.
I thought you listened.
every week. Keith's, he's heads
blocking the sign so I can't see.
I was literally going to be a shit
because you're eating
your turkey, or your turkey and your
Easter ham with fucking ketchup. What are you doing?
Okay, so like, let's break that.
Like, if you had to eat one, I think you'd have
to eat turkey with ketchup over ham.
Like, if you have, you don't have a choice.
You have to eat turkey or ham with
ketchup.
You got to go turkey.
Yeah, because, like,
because it's like closest to chicken really.
Yeah. Whereas ham
I think that's, I think I'd puca-
like my mother.
But I could eat turkey and ketchup if I had to.
My mother used to cook
like overcooked turkey all the time.
It's so dry.
And I just put, I never liked,
I never liked gravy.
So I just put turkey or ketchup on her.
And then I did put ketchup on ham.
I put ketchup on pizza.
There's pretty much fun on everything as a child.
Okay.
Yeah, no.
It was strange.
I don't know what's going on.
I mean,
I mean, like, I would come up to you at a party until you're an asshole, but only because you'd catch up, like, desire.
And I still use it.
So I got to say it's underrated because I still do.
Like, I put on burgers.
I put on hot dogs and stuff like that.
Yeah, I still use it.
I mean, I don't do.
I don't do nearly what I used to, especially now that, like, I know how to cook turkey.
I don't know.
Oh.
All right.
Well, we finished.
I guess you passed, even though that's disgusting.
By the look at some of those flaccid dicks behind you, they finished, too.
they're done they've been done for hours
they need some grooming
all righty
Chris
nope
yep do you have anything for us buddy
yes I do
what you got for us stuff that's all I got
just a couple silly goose questions
I thought
okay so one is actually kind of
one is kind of serious
just because I want to see what you guys would do
if money wasn't an option
right
Would you help Masonomics fight Miller Coors to bring the back to the band merch full rotation?
Yeah.
That's, I mean, I mean, that's just saying, would we like to have lift stuff back?
Like, if I made $300,000, would I give them $20,000 to do it?
Probably not.
If I had a trillion dollars, yeah.
I'd give them a, just hypothetical.
I would love, like, the lift shorts, the new, the short short lift shorts,
are my favorites. And when I wear those out, I'm going to be devastated when I have to like go find a
random pair of shorts because I don't, I like, I like, I like black shorts. So I don't, I don't love.
Like I have a lot of the color, you know, the, the maroons and the purples and the blues, but
nothing beats a pair of black shorts. Like, I just, I don't know. And this is for both of you.
Got it. Okay. If money was no object, yes. Because,
I want the OG logo on both a hoodie and a zip-up.
So I could be like, Tanner.
I'm giving the money.
So you have to make me both a zip-up hoodie and a pull-over hoodie.
And I don't want it to be anything crazy.
I just want it to be like a black hoodie or gray or whatever.
And I just wanted to have the lift logo.
That's all I want.
I was like, I read the line on this when I told about that question.
Like when I talked about that question, I was like, I can go either way because like it does still keep the banned merchant going to something in person and buying it there and like being like still gatekeeping that for yourself.
But at the same time, we still get the buddy light shirt would still be banned because that one's technically only Ronnie Coleman.
I'm not paying for you.
Ronnie Coleman.
I'm saying just another court.
Yeah, that's true.
Yeah.
So anyway, I hope Tanner takes notes that we need lift shorts and hoodies.
and their hoodies.
Yeah.
So this next question, right?
This next question was on somebody's story one day.
And I kind of just changed it for the crew.
So if a tree falls in...
He doesn't get it out.
He's laughing.
If a tree falls in the woods,
how many fluffy waffle iron waffles is that?
What?
I, I, this isn't like our friend waffle iron, right? This is something the other.
Yeah, yeah. He's been talking about waffles quite a bit lately. So yes, it is about it.
It's just, it's just a hypothetical question. Well, 500, because that's what he thinks I should be able to squat soon. So 500.
Okay, that's a good answer. I like that. I'm trying, buddy. I'm working on it. I'll say 69 for 20, obviously.
Okay, there you go. Also, even better.
This one. Next.
question.
All right.
Mostly just for Keith.
Although, I don't know.
Jen's been a host quite a bit.
So,
would you rather have
10 million passive listeners
who don't care about the show at all?
Or 50 hyper-dedicated fans
who physically show up outside your house
every time an episode drops
and give you constructive criticism.
Fuck you.
I give me the million.
Like, well, like, that's,
there's no way I have a million or whatever you said.
that there's a flawed question because like there's got to be like the 50 would be included in that big one but like if I have to take the question as it is and it's like black or white and there is no gray fuck you and your criticism like I don't know like because I don't want to sell outside your door either no because all I have to do is be able to get like I can run one ad and just only put the podcast on fucking YouTube like some of you motherfuckers that do podcast not knowing that and like there's people that have podcast YouTube only.
podcast. So if I do that, put ads on it and I get a million fucking views, I can literally retire
off the fucking YouTube money probably. Oh, that's true. And then I could actually focus more on
the podcast. I wouldn't. Okay. Now I want to hear, though, if he hadn't finished the sentence.
So 10,000 passive listeners are just 50 dedicated. Okay. Probably 50 dedicated because why would I
talk to 10,000? Like, so if it's just 10,000 people download and like, I don't, and, like, I don't,
say like one list, like, that's, it's such a, it's still a skewed thing because no matter what
the number is, there's going to be those, but if I had to, if I, if I, you know, if I toy with the
question and basically like 50 dedicated or, I mean, it's still the way you kind of asked it, but like,
however many thousands, but no dedicated and like no, no, no, no, no community. I'll look at it
like that. I like, you know, 50 that is part of my community or a thousand and they're not part
of my community kind of, I'm going to go with the 50 that are part of my community, because I'm not going to make money off a thousand listeners anyway. So I rather have the 50 that I kind of already do have.
We were hoping you would say that.
Yeah, well, I was going to, but he went so fucking elaborate with it. And then I turned it into, well, you can't make money on podcast, but if you have a fucking million listeners and you put it on YouTube, you fucking can.
Yeah, that's true.
Very true. Didn't you seem out of that way.
Well, that's the problem about me. I overthink everything. I can't analyze something without being over-analyst.
Jen, do you want to answer that one or you won't be a key move?
Well, I would pick the 50.
Okay.
All right, that's what I figured.
This is for Keith.
Oh, fuck, Marikil.
Oh, no.
We don't play that anymore.
You're playing it.
I don't care.
Or FMK, maybe.
You want me to say it that way?
I'm sorry.
We can play on.
Keith head singlet.
Keith head on a stick.
We're Keith had temporary tattoos.
That's actually funny.
Oh, that's a good one.
So we're going to kill your tattoos for reasons we already talked about.
And then that leaves heads or the singlet.
I think I'd fuck the singlet because it was kind of, it's a good one and done.
Yeah, buddy.
But those fucking heads on a stick and then like those were great because they kept getting passed around.
And it was easier to pass around like the six heads on a sticks.
And it would be like someone's ball sweat singlet.
So yeah, I'm, I'm okay with that.
You know what I love the most about that?
It was like we all had, you were out there and we all had the Keith Head sticks.
But the whole crowd was just like,
Keith,
then finally like you looked up and like actually saw the Keith heads.
Oh, and I locked in.
Those are,
those meats are overwhelmed.
Well, at the Odie,
I feel like,
I think it's,
I think the Odie was more overwhelming,
even with like the same audience size,
but just because it had like the bleacher aspect of it.
When you look out,
it's like it's like fucking like three tiers of humans.
Whereas the Ramcota,
it's just like,
you only,
I only really see the first couple rows.
And then it's just like a sea of people that I don't really know that are there or not.
But yeah,
that's a good.
Yeah.
Good to good memories.
All right.
Good.
The odie was so goddamn hot,
but it was fun.
Dude,
can I tell you that when I made the heads on a stick,
I was like,
I just hope he doesn't see them.
and like completely
unfocused and mad about him.
Oh,
no,
I was,
oh,
that's great.
I think I more remember seeing them like after,
in between lifts or after and.
Yeah.
It was a good time.
I do remember because that was,
that was the stone off.
So I remember like getting the,
doing the stone off,
finally getting cleaned up,
having like a couple beers and then just being,
like,
oh,
there's like 40 people over there that I'm really good friends with.
And like 10 of them have fucking my face on their face.
This is some weird Texas chainsaw massacre shit,
but it's pretty cool.
And for anyone,
might be listening for the first time. Yes, there's a
reoccurring joke that involves my face on something.
I did not start it or
continue it, but I will
let my friends embrace it because it is
kind of funny and cool. Yeah.
Because somewhere, at some
point, it's going to be someone's first time listening
to us. Yeah. That's true.
One of the 10,000 or 50, just depending on
millions,
whichever.
All right, so this one, next one's for Jen.
FMK.
eating hard
and eggs at your desk.
A 4 p.m.
A 4 p.m. teams meeting
request for 5 p.m.
Or a random team's message saying, hey.
You know me so well.
Okay, wait.
Say the egg one again.
Was it me eating it or someone else eating it?
Just someone eating hardboating eggs at their desk.
So egg, late meeting.
and someone typing just, hey.
Hey.
They're all horrible, but, okay, let's kill the egg.
You got to kill the egg.
It just stinks.
No, no, no, no, no.
I changed my mind.
Sorry, I didn't commit yet.
I'm killing the really late meeting on a Friday.
I'm killing it.
It has to die.
Yeah. Okay, so that's that's a meeting. All right. And then I guess I'll, I guess I'll marry the, oh shit, my handwriting so bad. What was it?
It's eggs or a hay on teams. Eggs, eggs or hay on teams.
And you have to marry one and fuck one.
Wait, what is it? Egg, hay, and what?
You already
You have to rank
Basically worst to most worst
Okay
I'm going to marry the egg
Or F the egg
I'm horrible at this game
And I'm going to marry the hay
Because you know what
If people type hay
And they don't say anything else
I'm not fucking answering it
So that's their problem
That's funny
Oh Keith I feel really bad
I think I said the F word a lot
I don't know if it's just
Chris bringing out in me or what
I try
I just keep myself from saying it. Normally, I'm really bad with it.
I actually make me happy. I feel bad if your friends, they're listening and they don't.
There's a good full circle moment for Jen, because I still remember before her and I were actually like tight and friends.
That was on the first one. It was, uh, oh, did we say that you gave a shit for saying,
yeah. And then I think I continued to say to fuck with you, proceed to say, cut and fuck a lot probably.
I think I did.
Oh, man, I really messed that FMKF.
good thing we're not playing it anymore.
Well, that's all right.
Chris Butchard fucking unpaid or underrated
pretty good too.
So I think...
Yeah, I definitely.
I probably...
And we actually listen every week.
And at one point, I looked at Chris and I forgot of his name was Chris or not.
Because I heard me like kind of stutter.
When I said Chris and then I went like, nope.
Oh, yeah.
Because I was like, wait, that is...
I don't know why I completely brain farted there.
I know his name's Chris, but good, good, good time.
Last...
So I have one more.
It's for Jen.
Oh, nice.
This one is from...
Big Jen upstairs
She said
The Mount Rushmore
Oh gosh
Three skin care items
You've worked into your skin care routine
Oh okay
She said what Mount Rushmore means
She said three
She needs four
Oh she said four
Yeah four you can do four
Okay
If there is four
Okay so number one is the
I think it's
I don't know how to pronounce this
But it's like
It's the night cream
So it's a serum
And a night cream mixture
It looks like a yang.
I freaking love it.
It's like DiAlba or something like that.
Love it so much.
I love the smell of it.
So that's one.
My new eye cream.
Love my eye cream.
My face is popping.
Love my eye cream.
I think it's called like Simply Eyes or Something eyes.
I can't remember.
And then I didn't know I needed it.
And she told me I did.
And I thought I wouldn't use it.
But I'm almost gone out of this huge tub of like,
cleanser. So you actually cleanse your face before you wash your face and I thought I would eat it, but it smells so freaking good and it helps get all the makeup off and stuff. I freaking love that one. And then she actually talked to me about, she didn't suggest this one, but she did talk to me about how I need a new foundation because my skin's getting older and I need less of a less of whatever you use when you're younger and more of like a cream. And I freaking love it. I found a good one.
And that's awesome.
Yeah.
And she will be happy.
Yeah.
Shout out to Jen.
Call her.
Set up a time with her.
She definitely helps you with your skincare needs.
It doesn't have to be because they can just be skincare.
Look for Jen.
And Oak and Harmony.
I love that too.
Yeah.
Do that table she made?
It's sick.
All of it's amazing.
Yeah.
I love watching it all.
Okay.
Sorry.
That is for my questions.
Nice.
Good, good ones.
Chris, I remember three years ago, I didn't know how to podcast,
and I think we went through our 10 questions,
and I was looked at you, and I was like,
do you have anything else to tell people?
And you were like, nope.
Yeah, and I had nothing.
Let me ask you again.
Is there anything that we didn't cover,
did you want the crew to know,
or any topic that you wanted us to touch base on real quick
before we wrap this up?
Now that you, you've had three years to think about it.
Well, everybody that listened to this already joined crew,
So I can't really say anything about that.
But if there's new people that do this,
and just join crew.
It's amazing, man, it's so much fun.
I have a blast here, man.
Everybody's so welcoming.
It's just a great time.
Love it.
I'm going to rapid fire you with like three,
up several topics.
I don't want you to answer all of them.
I'm going to say,
I'm going to,
I'm going to mention a handful of things
that were submitted we never touched on.
And you can pick one and talk about it
for a couple minutes or 30 seconds.
Okay.
So we're time boxing you.
Let me go to the top and I'm going to, I'm going to read out.
I'm going to read out everything we didn't cover.
So cars, dogs, music, figuring things out, people watching.
The bass competition.
New Orleans.
New Orleans, concerts.
I think we went over to the first one.
Okay.
So that's actually, actually, uh, slow left-drain drivers.
Yes.
People that talk shit under their breath, but don't repeat themselves.
Beaver movies, 90-dust, Windows operating systems.
Yeah, so pick one thing and we can have our last conversation about.
Seltzers, concerts.
Let's do the people that bumble under their breath.
Okay.
Because, and this goes back to one guy, and I know I'm not the only one that had a problem with them,
because at one point he got chokes slammed on the ground in front of customers and a shot.
And there was not me that did it, but he at one point, and I never knew that it drove me that crazy at first.
But at one point, like, I didn't, I still don't know what he said because he wouldn't repeat himself.
And he said something just loud enough for me to notice that he said something.
And I was like, what did you say?
And he, and he's like, no, I'd say none.
I was like, yeah, you did.
What'd you say?
And he wouldn't say it, wouldn't say it, wouldn't say it.
And, oh, man.
I'm not a big fighter.
I will if I have to,
but I've never wanted to hit someone so bad in my life.
And to this day,
if somebody just randomly mumbled something,
I'm like,
what'd you say?
And if they don't repeat themselves,
I'm like,
no,
I want to hear it.
Just say it.
I'll have more respect for you can say it.
If you're going to mumble it,
then clearly you want to say it.
Just get it out, man.
Come on.
That drives me,
that irks me so mad.
Because I've gotten to the point in my life
where if I'm going to say something, I'm going to say it to you.
I'm going to say it to you.
That's it.
I'm not going to mumble it.
You're going to hear it.
You may not like it.
This is what it is.
But it's true.
What was that last thing you said?
For Big Mike last week, what was that last thing you just said?
He said it a couple of times.
It is what it is.
It is what it's with this.
I almost called it out earlier.
I'm going to see him this weekend.
Actually, actually, did he not like that.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I.
the last topic.
How is your Highland Games prep been?
And you're going to literally see all those guys in like 24 hours.
I can't is in.
Scantz's babysitting right now, I think.
Scantz was in Philly.
He got a Philly cheese steak.
I think Jess and Matt are working our way down.
I think they'll be here tomorrow at some point.
I'm leave.
And then I'm only like an hour and a half away.
So I'm going to leave probably really early Saturday morning
and then see everybody.
good to that.
It's going to be awesome.
I'm so glad that I signed up and actually got back on, like,
I saw, I was all Facebook at the time,
and I saw that Eddie had posted something about it,
and I hoped right back on and signed up.
And then told Ed around the corner from me,
I told him about it, so he signed up.
And I just tried to get more people.
I tried to jack the ginger to come up.
I was like, come on.
Come on.
Yeah, I missed that one.
I'll do it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
A little dog.
He's such a good dude.
We don't talk a ton
But here and there, man, we'll just go off and have a conversation
And it's always good to catch back up with him
He is dying for a crew event
So maybe sometime soon
Yeah, but I'm looking forward to it.
I did not practice.
I don't have anywhere to.
I lie, I do have somewhere to practice.
There is a group about a half hour away from me that puts
They do Highland games
and she'll post something on Facebook
and it would be like 4.30 or 5 o'clock at night.
And I'm like, and it's a weekday.
I'm like, I can't go out there and do that right now.
Yeah.
I think you're out of bed.
And then she'll do like Saturday, like 11 in the morning.
I'm like, oh, man.
Like, I feel bad saying no and not going out there.
But I'm like, that is you're doing all the events on a Saturday morning.
That's going to take a long time.
Yeah.
just hard to commit to
but it is it is
Keith I think you would enjoy it
like the
it'd be fun
I just wasn't
to do the
I'd probably be there
I just
yeah
well like
even as you
it seems like
Matt news
that there's
I can't really be gone
yeah
it's the last time
I'm gonna see you for like
it's
it seems like
Matt says any news
of a tonnego on up there
I think you'd enjoy it
dude it's like the weights aren't super crazy
they're just technical
throws that's all
that's it
You don't have to go create it in your first time in,
just write everything down that you remember and then try to beat that next time.
That's all.
So we have to live vicariously through you this weekend.
Like, not quite the scale of life.
We'll be sad that we're not there.
And then Jen's.
See your live stream it for us.
Yeah.
Jen's upstairs freaking out because Keith,
scans it's staying here.
Because I'm only like 20 minutes from the airport.
work. So on Sunday morning, I'm going to drop him off. But she's like, our house is not clean. I'm
like, dude. I was like, we don't, we don't have kids. So there's not too much everywhere.
I guess. Yeah. He used to sleep in a fucking tank next to guys jerking off probably. So I think he'd be
okay. Yeah. He even said that. He's like, don't even worry about it. It'll be okay.
We'll get to clean it off for tomorrow. Yeah. It'll be fine. Yeah. It'll be good time, though.
Yeah, have fun. All right, Chris. Final. All right, guys.

We have the Instagram, unpaid and narrated podcast.
We get the website, Unpaid Internpodcast.com.
More importantly, the U and you channel and the Massonomics Discord.
Give us all your chit chat about the episode in there.
I've really enjoyed seeing all the banter back and forth and comments about the podcast
and just, you know, conversations that have exploded in there, you know, the day of or the day
after the episode.
It's been very cool to see and helps.
keep me motivated to keep scheduling people and keep getting on because I can, you know,
see the people who are listening. So showing me that those 50 people are listening every week is good
for me. I am Keith Honeycutt 73 on Instagram. More importantly, I'll follow my orange gym than a wine
seller. Until then, see you next Tuesday.
