Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the video gamers podcast.
Gamescom is starting and as one of the biggest gaming events of the year, we can't wait to see what trailers, announcements, and more we get.
Borderlands 4 is fast approaching, but is bigger and 30 billion guns really what the franchise needs?
Roblox is in a lot of hot water, and while they're making some changes, is it too little too late?
We've got all that more in this week in gaming, but first, some introductions are in order.
I am your host Josh, and joining me, after playing Battlefield 6 with me for two weekends in row,
he told me I should uninstall
every other shooter
and I'm not really sure how to take that
it's Ryan
brother
I I October 10th
cannot come soon enough that's all I got to say
I am I am ready and
I think the world is ready for
battlefield I am ready for
battlefield permanently I am ready for the big
maps I am ready for community
nights where we have like we can all
join the same server
I oh man
It's going to be good.
Put it in my veins.
Good times ahead.
Yeah.
And joining us, he said he's suing Roblox as well, but it's not over them enabling
predators.
It's because they don't offer an ultra premium edition.
And well, according to him, that's just not fair.
It's ace.
I will get my money.
It's only fair that they offer me a premium edition with that much premium currency.
Has there ever been somebody that's upset that they can't spend more money?
Like, I hate premium.
I hate premium.
I really do.
Can't you just charge me $100?
Roblox is like, bro, it's free.
I don't care.
I got these credits.
I want to use them.
Yeah, I need the premium edition.
Just send me a statue.
I don't care of what.
I am what's wrong with gaming.
Oh, man.
Send me a small onion.
Please.
Yeah, just anything.
It's just a plushy, an onion, a statue.
Go to Goodwill.
find something mail it to me take my money oh man guys we got a lot of news to talk about
but some of the best news guys is thanking new supporters of the show yeah and we got a few
to thank starting off with the one and only dingus con who upgraded to epic status dingus con
thank you so much thank you so much saw the uh saw the color the color of the name in our discord server
this morning, and my eyes went, what?
And then I was like, yeah.
Like, thank you, dude.
I think it's that nice, sparkly purple, too.
It is. I love it.
And I just, I don't know if this is a me thing, but I just always picture, like,
when I see the name, I think of Genghis Kong, and then I think of Bill and Ted.
And I just, oh, game, game, video game.
Oh, yeah, you know, that's what comes through my brain every time because I'm a child.
So, uh, I love it.
And I love the name.
So quality name.
and quality supporter of the show.
Love it.
Absolutely.
Also gets to vote on hijack a hosts now as well with the rest of the community.
So we'll have a say in the next hijack as well.
And then guys, we have not one but two new rare supporters to thank.
We have Ethan Oni and Dan Askin both signed up for Rare Sats.
I actually saw Dan join the Discord server today as a new member.
Hasn't said anything yet.
But Dan, we're glad you're here with us, buddy.
thank you. And then Ethan
Oni signed up. Ethan actually signed up
a couple weeks ago, but I don't
know if we thanked Ethan or not. So this might
be number two, but we want to make sure
we hit everybody. And so thank you
Ethan as well. Hopefully
this is number two and we didn't forget the first
time around. But if not, we will
always remember. So
better say thank you twice than not at all.
Exactly. Ace, that's
that's my thinking there too. So
guys, all right, let's, I'll tell you what, man.
We got a lot of news to cover. I, I,
I am excited about Gamescom, dude.
Like, I try to not get excited about a lot of these, like, you know, like these announcement shows and these game shows and these, you know, Nintendo Directs and things like that.
But one thing that I know we all love are some awesome game reveals, some awesome trailers, any kind of news to get us hyped about an upcoming release or something like that.
So Gamescom, the opening ceremonies, opening night is literally the day that this episode releases.
We're recording this the night before.
So tomorrow for us, Tuesday for everybody else in the world.
You know, we have a list of games that have been confirmed, okay, that we know that they are going to bring up and talk about at Gamescom.
So some of these are, Call of Duty Blackop 7.
Sorry, we're battlefield people again.
uh damon x machina a titanic sion which i have never heard of to be honest with you little nightmares
three which i'm looking forward to that one i am actually really looking forward to that one as well
lords of the fallen two ninja guidance four resident evil requiem definitely looking forward to
sin's origin and silent hill f so those are like the confirmed games on this list i think
for me resident evil requiem little nightmares three probably the two games
Ninja Guide in 4, I think, looks great, but I just feel like I'm, I know I'm not going to wind up playing it, even though I'm interested in it.
But what I want to do is say, like, what do you want to see, guys?
Like, those are the confirmed games.
What do you want to see from Gamescom?
I think, uh, I think my answer is obvious.
I want to see Silk Song, man.
I want to see it.
Show me a trailer.
Give me the full length trailer, like the official release trailer, release date trailer, whatever it is.
Just show me Silk Song.
like he's not a genie he's not just going to create some crazy wish what do you mean
i don't know if you guys remember but we talked about a a possible demo for silk songs that was
going to be shown how is the time and i think it is the time do you i'm not buying it i'm not buying
it's going to be i think there's going to be a demo that's playable for people at gamescom
and we're going to start getting some more silk song news that's what you think i do tomorrow they
will be uh an accessible demo tomorrow night for not for
games con not for us just the gamescom people okay so for games con you go to games com like i think people
there will be able to play some silk song like whether it's a 20 minute thing or whatever but i don't
know the game would have to exist for that to happen that's fair that's fair yeah this is fun because
we're making predictions now and then it's like we're going to look like idiots tomorrow like let's
be honest i hope so man that that that's a game that you know obviously everybody is pining for
they want it uh uh you know all out but
Man, I sure hope that's what happens, because that will be amazing.
If you see a playable demo, Ryan, even if you don't get to play it, but you know that people got to play it, will that start to swing your opinion?
Yes.
Yeah, absolutely.
If they, dude, we just want to see something.
Anything.
This has just been like pie in the sky.
Hey, this mystical, like, creature that is Silk Song has just been like floating around.
It's like, gosh, what is that, what's that little creature in Mexico that like?
The chupacabra.
Chupacabra, yeah.
It's like the chupacabra.
It's like, you know, there and it's not.
Like, this is Silk Song.
It's there, but it's not there.
Nobody has any proof.
Nobody has any, any thing to provide to show us that it's real.
If they have a demo, then we know, okay, this game is real.
It's going to happen.
And hopefully it's going to happen soon.
Dude, I really hope that's what they do.
I think that's what they should do and have planned to do.
But I guess we'll see.
We'll see tomorrow.
Fingers crossed.
Today, I guess.
Cloud nose is on.
Yeah.
So it's on for you.
Ryan, is there a game or two?
You don't have to limit it to one.
But is there anything that you're like really hoping to see or get more information on or anything like that?
I just want to see more Call of Duty to recognize how bad it is.
And Blackout seven
How much worse it's going to be
Than, you know
The Beloved Battlefield that we're going to get
So I'm very excited for that
And then I am
I grew up Ninja Gaiden
I can't wait to see
Kind of hopefully a
Reinstallment that gets me hyped up for it
So
I would like to see some more
I mean we've seen a decent bit of gameplay
For Ninja Gaiden 4 but I would like
A little bit more of like a dive
Into the game mechanics
Yeah something to really
make me, you know, make it pop, make me excited to, okay, this is, this is a really neat ninja game
that I'm going to want to go out of my way to play, because there's just a million options
nowadays. Like, you can play everything. So I want, I want something to really pop. So hopefully
that's the one. So for me, I think there are, there are some games that I think are going to be
very likely to get shown off, whether we get a, a official release day trailer or a, hey, you know,
we know the release date, but here's a trailer for, you know, as we get closer to that or something.
Hell is us.
We haven't talked about that game a whole lot on this show, but I think this game looks incredible.
It kind of looks like remnant, but with like a control aesthetic almost.
Like it looks very weird.
You know, I think that game looks really good.
Dying Light the Beast is another one that I know a lot of people are excited for.
One of my top ones is Ark Raiders.
That is one where I would like a confront.
released date, a little bit more
info on that. Again, I got to play
a few rounds in the closed beta.
I was very impressed with what I saw there.
Looks good.
It, dude, it plays good.
Like, honestly, like, it,
my experience with Arc Raiders was very positive
so far, and that was just solo getting
wrecked within, like, eight minutes of loading in.
You, like, you geared up and you were running.
I was watching you as I was outside, like,
working on something, and I'm watching on my phone,
watching you stream.
And, uh, and you just got ganked.
and destroyed.
And I was just like, that's actually kind of cool.
Like, it looked neat.
I'm like, that looks pretty fun.
You know, I may want to try and, you know, try playing that.
So, yeah, I'm excited.
Squad-based game.
So that's one where I'm pretty sure we will be diving into together.
Heck yeah, dude.
Extraction shooter-ish.
Anyway, Arc Raiders looks really good.
So I'd like a little bit more on that.
And then we get into the, like, my wish list, guys.
Two games for me.
I want more information on Judas
Because that game to me
That's fantastic
I want to see more about it
And I really
I will lose my mind guys
If we get finally
Some more information on light no fire
Yeah
I don't know we're going to get it dude
I don't I'm not calling the shot on this
But oh my goodness
If they show off light no fire
With some more gameplay or something dude
I will lose my mind on this one
Because I'm telling you right now
As soon as that game is revealed
in more depth and detail
it's going to absolutely shoot up to the
top of my hype meter man
I don't know what it is about that game
but you know it's hello games
take everything you've learned
from no man sky over the last decade or so
put it together in an intended
multiplayer fantasy experience
and I'm in man
this one I always I always seem to forget about
like I always you know
it's been radio sound dude I'm like wait wait light no fire
and then I look and I'm like oh yeah that's right
you know I and then I remember
it all comes back and uh i feel i've i've been you've been wanting this for so long yeah
and wanting like something from it and then i in turn also have been because it it looks good
what we've seen looks good but we saw one thing you want more nothing nothing that's it we got
one trailer you go here you go that's all i get it hello games is like bro we ain't going through that
again it'll just be ready when it's ready and then your world can have it but we're not going
through that. And then one last one
for me, guys, and I know you guys are on board
on this one with me, but this is
another game that has been absolute radio silence.
John Carpenter's toxic
commando. Oh, guys.
Yeah, I remember that one.
I forgot. Yeah. Hell divers
in first person
with vehicles and zombie
swarms. Oh my goodness.
Like, oh my goodness, dude.
I am in. I do
know that this game has been in
closed beta. So there is development
that is progressing on this game.
And I do know
that people are having a lot of fun with it.
That's a good sign.
I can't say anything more than that,
but like that, you know,
they're like,
the hype is real behind this game.
And it looks incredible.
And I really,
really want to get some more information
on Toxic Commando
because this could be like
the next Hell Divers 2 level of fun
with friends and that type of game, man.
So that's my wish.
I would say also
I would throw clockwork revolution in there
for one I want to hear more about that game looks fantastic
That's the other one I really want to hear more about
I
We're gonna we're gonna be feasting again
We had the we had the lull over the summer
We got such a good year coming dude
We had the lull over the summer
And I'll be honest man I was actually thankful for that
Lull like we had so many incredible games
But now it's like I've rested up
You know I'm ready
My body is ready give me all these great games again man
Battlefield 6 was perfect for that
because it's like, oh, yeah, this is like, like, just tons of fun with your friends is, like, playing video games.
This is gaming.
Yeah, right?
Yeah, exactly.
What we're here for.
Oh, man.
All right.
So we'll see what happens, boys.
But I am very excited to track the news from Gamescom.
That one's going to be a good one.
I have a feeling we're going to get some fun stuff out of that one.
So, all right.
And then, you know what?
I'll tell you what.
Before we move on, let's just take a break real quick for I forget, because we're going to get into this other news.
is we got to talk about and I don't want to get busy rolling.
So we'll be right back in just a second.

all right we're back guys all right so moving on from the gamescom talk guys we've been a little remiss about talking about borderlands four okay it's coming i actually
one of you look up the actual release date on that i don't remember what the exact date on that is but it's coming
and we have said in the past hey man borderlands four september 12th september 12th yeah so less than a
month. It is so close.
The initial release date, September 12th.
Yeah, I didn't realize it was that close.
So, okay.
That is that actually is cool.
We let it sneak up on us, man.
Dude, like, I know that we have been a little down on this podcast about Borderlands
4.
I know that we may be unique in that.
We have seen a lot of our listeners and our community members just be like, I am so excited
for Borderlands 4.
People who love it, love it.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
I have loved Borderlands.
Like, Borderlands, too, was like, some of the most, like, fun multiplayer game.
that I have had with friends, you know?
Um, and so, but then Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was kind of a disappointment.
Borderlands three wasn't as good as Borderlands two.
And I will say that I feel like the series is on a decline.
Movie didn't help.
It's, what's that?
The movie did not help.
Yeah, the movie didn't help at all.
You can't fault the game for that either.
But like, where are you guys out with Borderlands?
Am I alone on this one?
Because it's like, I fully expect Borderlands 4 is going to be fun.
Like, it's going to be a good time.
Like, there's no way that this game is like, man.
this is a failure but at the same time like I'm just super hesitant to think that this is going
to be better or like write the course of the franchise in my opinion so where are you guys
at with it I guess I'll start right I'm not I haven't played a ton of borderlands dude like
I don't really understand what the appeal to borderlands is honestly aside from the art style
the art style is great but I mean it's a fast-paced shooter with friends it's a multiplayer
or mission-based, story-based, co-op.
Tons of guns.
It's got wild over-the-top humor.
It's got a very unique art style.
There's a gazillion gun,
so it's like you never know what you're going to get
as far as this random role of like,
is it going to have elemental damage?
Is it going to fire really fast?
Is it going to be a grenade launcher?
There's unique weapons that you can find while you play.
Like at one point, I think it was it Tiny Tinas,
where if you do this quest line and free this,
guy from a porta potty he gives you like a cannon that shoots poop basically you know and so it's
just kind of it's always been very silly it's always had fun combat um interesting characters
you know a neat world kind of thing but i just don't really know what you could do to innovate on
that because it's it's it's been done three times now and every single time they've done it it's
gotten worse or it's gotten stale and people aren't enjoying it right what's the what's the what does borderlands
always done to to get better bigger right what do they give you they give you more of something right
more crazy well more guns that's been the thing right like over the years borderlands is just going
more guns yeah more guns you know and it's like bro like with borderlands four they're advertising
30 billion guns that's a lot right billion billion now this is just because there's permutations
of saying hey we have 50 guns that have 100 attachments and and there's four different elements and
So when you combine them all and throw them in a puddle,
like you get 30 billion combinations.
And it's like, okay, whatever, right?
Like, I don't know how to feel about Borderlands 4.
Like, I will say this,
my hype meter for this game is kind of non-existent.
But, like, I feel like it should be higher.
Because I see, like, people in our community going, like,
I can't wait for Borderlands 4.
And I love co-op shooters that you get to play with your friends, man.
Like, the recipe is there.
The trailer I watched.
earlier today, it looked incredible. The gameplay
looked good. The graphics looked good.
I mean, the first trailer I saw, I thought
it looked nothing like Borland's. I was like, where'd
that art style go? But then they brought that back,
it seems. But I was just like,
I just don't, yeah, I'd rather play Battlefield. I'd rather
play Abyssus. I'd rather, you know, spend
time playing Metal Gear Solid. Like,
yeah, Metal Gear. I've just got
other things like that I care about
more. No, I feel
you, man. I'm not, I am
my my I guess relationship with battle uh or not battle I was going to say
battlefield uh border borderlands is um is is almost virtually non-existent I I have checked it
out with some friends I've played here and there I am not anyone who's ever spent I probably
haven't spent more than five or six hours in the borderlands we're the same I I really oh I play
a bunch I've seen it I've played it I've seen what it has to offer but I never had that big
hook or draw to it.
I know people are like,
Ryan,
you're just an idiot,
blah, blah, blah.
You know,
I'm sure I'm going to get hate for that,
but it's just not one that ever grabbed me.
Not to say that this won't,
but,
man,
you can only,
when you have an IP,
you can only stretch it so far
unless you innovate
and make something different
or change things.
To me,
uh,
borderlands means cool graphics,
uh,
and graphic wraps on vehicles.
Like,
that's what I've seen.
Yeah.
Motorcycles,
I've seen.
cycles and cars with the shell cell shading is the coolest comparison to borderlands that i know of um that shows
its reach and it's you know expanse to other parts of the world but as far as the borderlands game
itself and the gameplay and stuff i i just i've never been one to really be drawn to it but i am
curious to see what like once it reaches that certain level when you're not a fan you have to pay
attention you have to see what it's about like okay they're making movies of
about this game there there's a fourth uh you know uh iteration into this this series like
you have to pay attention to it so i am excited to see what they're going to do with it and how
they're going to make this different from everything else else they've created and it's just kind of
we got to wait and see handsome jack one of the best villains in a video game you know i mean he's
one of those iconic characters um so so real quick i'll just run down this right but there's four
new characters. Uh, you know, that's a thing for borderlands is you always get the new vault hunters
and they play differently and stuff like that. So you've got Vex, who's the siren. She,
she plays us like a summons character. I do not like summons. You hate summoners. I don't like
summons either. They clog up my screen. Play the game for you. You're like, I'm going to,
exactly. Yeah. Exactly. Like, and I get people love them. You know, I'm not trying to slam you, but it's just
not for me. You have Ratha who will actually be my guy if I play it, who is the melee cyber
ninja dude with like he's speeding. He zips around with these blades and stuff.
stuff like that you've got harlowe who actually looks really cool she is a like a gravity bender basically
she can kind of like group enemies or like lift them up in the air kind of crowd control which sounds
neat and then you have amon who is like the tank of the group he's got like a big shield and
can charge it up like uh like black panther and then unleash like a big blast of energy and stuff
so it's like okay these characters it's it's whatever like that's always a borderlands thing
you can tell they're trying to improve some things right they've
got three new weapon manufacturers so that's going to add a bunch of permutations to the
weapons uh the the movement is with grapple hooks and sliding and stuff like that is kind of the
the big thing that i think could change the feel of the game they have dynamic events which is
kind of like any open world game has always started doing these dynamic events that just pop up
randomly and stuff they are saying it is more of a a true open world than some of the other
like borderlands games they've always had a big map that you can travel around and unlock new
areas but this one i think is more just open i guess that is not necessarily a plus to me
and then like you know it used to be that you had to hit up the catch a ride to summon your car
or actually hop in one now you just get the ability to summon it wherever you're at kind of thing
here's the problem for me borderlands has always done the let's get funnier let's give them more
guns let's make it bigger let's make it just more more more more more right but the problem is
is that that's like you can it like you can only go so more 30 billion guns doesn't do a thing for me
yeah yeah once once you get to this is the hard part is is you want to offer selection you want to
offer diversity but when you get to too much more than it dilutes what you have it dilutes what
is there and then it's like why am i even doing this then you know like what what is what is you know
none of it matters it becomes meaningless it becomes meaningless none of it matters there's there's all
of this here why would i choose this over that why would i choose you know it's just i don't know man
it's it's one of those things where again i i i've seen a lot of borderlands i've played a little
bit of it but when you almost lose your focus on what makes you what you are and just the fun
core of it. Like, we're just here to have fun, man. You don't have to do all these crazy things
and expand every time. You just have to be fun. And that's all there is to it. If people are
playing your game and laughing and having a good time and enjoying themselves, that's what
matters. And that's the thing that they have to find is where do we line up to where we
expand enough to make it different than the last one, but also make it enjoyable for everyone
who wants to play. That's the key, right? It will be fun. I don't doubt that one bit.
But is a 7 out of 10 Borderlands 4, is that good for the franchise? That'll be a failure for
them. That has to kill it, right? After 3? That has to kill it. I don't know. I mean, but that's
my question is it's like, so here's my take, right? I'm going to wait for Borderlands 4 to release
and if it starts getting phenomenal reviews and people are like, dude, Borderlands is back. It's like
Battlefield. All right. Borderlands is back. I'll jump in, absolutely, because I'd love playing with
friends and it's again it's a co-op shooter with guns like it's a fun game but if it comes out and
people go it's a six and a half a seven out of ten it's like every other borderlands at that point
i think i'm just going to be like i've already experienced that man yeah you know so i don't know
we'll see i i'm hopeful i'm hopeful but i'm also trying to be a little bit uh cautious i
how professional i think that's fair professional yeah so all right guys i mean since we've just
brought up Battlefield 6.
Guys, this might be
the funniest story I've seen this
Battlefield? What?
You saw this morning
and I laugh, so I'm just going to let you lead with this one.
What did Battlefield 6 do?
Well, you know,
everyone here has been playing the Battlefield 6
beta, but you know, some of us might
have another shooter installed called
Valerant. Well, when you
try to, you know, start up Battlefield
6, it might ask you to
uninstall Valerant. Just for
Is this for your own good, Ais?
It's for your own good.
You know, your psychological well-being?
Is this like, they just want you to have a better shooter to play, I guess.
Dude, this is bonkers.
What kind of game do you, like, you install it and you hit play?
It's like, uninstall Vowleran to continue.
I, dude, this made me laugh so hard.
So hard.
Number one, I hate Vowleran.
You know, like, I hate Vowleran with a passion.
I loved Valeran when it came out.
I sat and waited for that beta key for like four hours when Valorant was announced.
I thought this was going to be the next best thing since Overwatch.
You're combining Counterstrike and Overwatch, which are like two of my favorite shooters.
And I was like, this is it.
And then Valeret just became a sweat fest, man.
And a good friend of, you know, Ryan, like Matt, who we play pickleball with.
And he's a coworker of mine, plays Valeran a lot.
And it's like, and he hates himself.
You know, it's like, bro, I, like, I feel like every Valoran player like has this like, just a touch of self-loathing because they're like, I can't help it. I love Valorant, but I, this game's like, I shouldn't be playing. So it just, it absolutely made me laugh out loud when I saw this pop up that said somebody was trying to load Battlefield 6 and it said, hey, there's an issue with the anti-cheat. Please uninstalleled Valoran.
Yeah. What is it? The application is filled to start.
due to general software incompatibility,
please uninstall the conflicting software
or adjust settings
1-88 or 118-Vallorant.
So Valerant is like,
yo, get this off your computer, brother.
What are you doing?
Like, you're in for a fun time,
you know, where you don't have to hate yourself anymore.
We don't want you to think about this one.
We want you to go have fun.
Okay, so here's the kicker.
The reason that this happened is Riot Games
was one of the first.
to insist on this kernel level
anti-cheat. I remember installing
Valerant and like this was one of
the first kernel-level anti-cheats
ever, if not the first
and everybody was like,
yo, this is a new thing for gaming.
Like kernel-level stuff is giving
absolute complete and total
control of your computer to
whatever software is
installed. Like it is
the most, you're leaving your
house open to the world with nothing.
You know, now, you know,
thankfully we like to think
that there's no nefarious things going on but it's like
this is hardcore stuff right
you're not messing around
and so Valorant did it
well now Battlefield 6 is doing it
and when you have two things running at the
kernel level and they're both going like
you shouldn't be here and it's looking like
you shouldn't be here and then it's going
uninstall
so I'm just
saying I'm just saying
if I'm having to make the choice between
Valerant and Battlefield 6. You know which one I'm picking, boys. Bye, bye, Valerant.
I'm just picturing like small kernels in CPUs. Like, what are you doing here, bro? Like,
what's going on? They're not playing nice. I don't know what's going to happen with this, to be
honest, because as more and more companies try to use this kernel level anti-cheat stuff, they're going to
start button heads, man. And it's becoming very widely accepted now, especially with, you know,
Valerant and now Battlefield,
a ton of people just went for it with Battlefield.
They're like, you know what, whatever.
I don't care.
You can have my computer EA.
You can have access to everything.
Like, just let me play Battlefield 6.
You know, uh, you want me to install this?
Okay.
Secure,
sure.
Sweet Battlefield 6.
Yeah, you need my bank account information,
my blood type, my social.
Here you go.
Well, it's the problem is, is that over 330,000,
thousand people were trying to cheat on battlefield on the beta yeah on the beta yeah like come
on man dude it's you know what it is uh you know streamers and i know we stream we we have a twitch
we uh stream if you if we if we stream please please watch us love you all but anyways all the
other ones because you can look by my kd i'm definitely not cheating or any of us are cheating
these people are killing these games with their cheating like the way they do it and the way they
play this is we've seen it with how they they want BR they want all these other different
additions to battlefield so that it suits their streaming ability and a lot of these places like
cater to them because it it gets them you know more people buying the game and stuff so I just
man it's I hate to give anybody like access kernel level access to my my PC
But, dude, like, the amount of people cheating is just ridiculous.
If it got rid of hackers, dude, like, if it actually got rid of hackers, like, fine.
Because if there's one thing in the world, in my opinion, that ruins gaming for other people, it is cheaters in a game, dude.
Like, if you hack in a shooter or any game that's not a single player game, like, I'm just going to say it, dude, you are the lowest of the low.
You're a loser.
You are intentionally ruining gaming for other people.
And we all play games to escape and to have fun and have a good time and be competitive and all of these things.
And if you are a hacker, you are legitimately the lowest of the low because you are ruining that experience for everybody else that is stuck in that gaming session with you at that point.
I know that people will try to defend it and saying, oh, well, I'm not good at this game.
So at least lets me play on a level.
And it's like, bro, just be bad.
You can have fun and be bad.
Anybody that's watched our streams knows we're not.
the best gamers in the world, but we're cracking
up and we're having a blast, man.
I went zero and 11.
I wasn't going to call you out, Ace,
but you beat me. That was above right.
That's what team play
is all about right there, ladies and gentlemen.
It's just, yeah, it's, um, man,
dude, there's just, uh,
people, people doing this and,
and going into that level and that depth on a beta
blows my mind, man.
It's just, it's something else.
And this is, I mean, I have a,
I have very strong opinions on streamers.
I think they're all insufferable.
The vast majority of them are horrible.
Except for us when we stream.
Oh, except for us.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's, yeah, because we're the exception.
We suck.
We suck.
We just like, hey, you want to watch us like,
you know, laugh around and joke and play games.
Like, and if people want to watch, cool, if not know, oh well.
These people make their careers off of it, but they just, they have to, they have to cheat.
The vet, I would say, 90 plus percent.
of all streamers are cheaters.
That's what I would say.
That's a high percentage, there is, there is, there is very little.
It's so easy.
You go and you can buy a Kronos or whatever for 200 bucks or whatever it is.
And then you can like, uh, you know, you're good to go.
You can set up your stuff and, and do what you need to do.
I just, the, the ability to cheat for these people is far too easy.
And something that will draw that back.
I'm in favor of, but it's hard because then we open ourselves up to like that intrusion.
So where is the middle ground?
That's what we have to find is where is the middle ground to get this scum out of the internet gaming and, you know, be able to just have fun again.
These people have to pay money for these cheats.
Yeah.
So it's like you have to buy the game and then you can buy the cheat so that you cannot suck at the game.
Like, what do you do?
Well, why do you think these, these, these street?
streamers change their names every like like four weeks six weeks eight weeks or whatever and then it's like just so nobody recognizes them yeah right it's because they bought 15 million uh steam accounts so that then when they they get banned they can just hop to a new one and start a new name and start a new account and then keep streaming with their hacks it's that's absolutely what they're doing and oh man i just it it it rubs me the wrong way and you got to be some sort of stupid to think otherwise man it's it's so oh i hate it
Are your single player games as much as you want?
Yeah, if you're not affecting other people, who cares?
Yeah, if you're not affecting other people.
Exactly.
That's fine.
I got nothing against that.
You play your single player games, how you want to play them.
I have no judgment at all for me on that.
But if you're ruining gaming for other people, I have a big problem with it.
So I think the one argument for this kernel level stuff is that people are saying it's not going to stop the cheaters.
And I'll be honest, we saw, Ace, you and I were talking about it where it was like somebody, a famous V-tuber got accused of
cheating. I watched a video and I was like, bro, this person is absolutely cheating. They're snapping to
people behind walls. Dude, I get that there are great pros out there, but I'm watching like
Stroud play and Stroud don't play the way that this person's playing. So you're either telling me
that this V-tuber is better than Stroud, who's one of the greatest, you know, first person
shooters on the planet, or they're using a cheat one of the two. So, but like, it's like, will it stop
cheating? The people that are saying, no, it's not, are saying, then why are you installing this
kernel level stuff? Because it's not going to stop.
them anyway. So I don't know. I'm all for less
they got to do something, but it's like what, what are they going to do that's
going to work? That's the problem. Yeah, it's hard to find that
middle ground. It really is. All right. We're running out of time, guys. So we're
going to glaze over this one quickly, but Roblox. Roblox is in the hot seat right now. You're
trying to glaze over this. An appropriate word, by the way. I know, right?
I was wondering if anybody was going to catch it. And I'm really glad that somebody caught
it because I was just going to move on
like a professional but our listeners are
chuckling out there too so thank you
everybody that's chuckling in your car right now
and if you're not chuckling
then don't worry about it
that one got me guys
so
guys Roblox has been a
like we banned our kids from playing
Roblox for a while and then we let them
play and we're like hey you need to be careful
and then you know it's just
it's one of these things that like as a parent
you hate but at the same time
kids love Roblox.
I hope you banned it again.
You know, and so here's the thing.
Roblox is in the hot seat because there are more and more lawmakers and states and government
entities that are saying you are not doing enough to protect the minors that are the
base gamers on your platform.
And predators are preying on these minors because it's easy to pretend like they are not a predator
and it's easy to interact with these kids and you need to do everything in your
to make sure this doesn't happen.
And Roblox has gone, well, we don't want to because the more people that are using our
platform, the more money we make.
And then now it has gotten to the point of legality.
Louisiana, the governor of Louisiana is actually suing Roblox.
This is official.
This has been filed to say that they are not doing enough to protect the miners that are
using their platform from these predators.
There are all kinds of horrible news stories that we won't mention on this show about
predators actually being successful with, you know, with interacting with these minors and things
like that. So now, because of a lot of this legal action, Roblox is saying, well, we're trying,
you know, we're trying to implement things. And the question is, is it, is it too little too late?
Is it, hey, this is on the parents to, to parent your kids. And, you know, it's not our problem.
Like, that should be on the parent side of things.
I, like, I am a parent.
My solution is don't play Roblox, you know?
Exactly.
It's not worth the risk to a child in that platform because, you know, yes, they do try to limit, like you can't type numbers in that look like a phone number.
It filters out bad words.
It does this, but people will always be creative and figure out ways around these things.
And that is part of the problem as well.
What do you have thoughts on this, man?
I don't trust anyone there worth a cent because they were trying to turn this into a teenage dating.
platform, not even like two, three months ago.
They were like, we'd love to see Roblox turn into a teen dating platform.
Like, you're asking for it.
You're absolutely asking for it at that point.
It's predator bait.
That game is predator bait 100%.
And they do nothing.
Okay.
I'm going to riff for a minute here because I have, I got a nine-year-old son.
This month, he's nine.
And he loves Roblox.
I have banned and unbanned Roblox for probably four years, five years,
something like that it's been back and forth one because of just for whatever reason when he
plays it he just turns into a major a hole and just what is that dude i don't know what it is
i don't know what it is he just turns into like a disrespectful disobedient little you know
sob that doesn't want to do anything that i want to say and i'm like dude i give you the world
why is this game making you play this way and we take it away and he gets better and then we're like
okay you earned it back and then he goes right back to it so that all aside like any
company like so so they hit a schlep with a cease and desist order if anyone doesn't know this guy
this guy is going out around and he is catching child predators on roblox he's caught multiple people
and had them arrested like actually arrested for their crimes against these children trying to
groom them bring them up and meet them up at their properties or the houses or wherever you know
wherever it may be, one of one millionth of probably what happens.
And they hit this guy with a cease and assist order.
To me, if I was a company owner in my entity, my livelihood, no matter how wealthy I am,
was product of something like this, I would do everything in my power to stop it.
I would say, dude, you're obviously doing a lot better than us.
how about a job
do you want do you want a job man
I am going to give you a six figure job
you will have full benefits
full rain go ahead
do everything you need to do to make
my products safe
and they're not doing that
they sue him
they sued him to stop doing what he was doing
to protect the kids
they're like oh well he violated
you know the policy terms of conditions
that's garbage it's absolute
garbage I don't understand in a
world where you were trying to produce a game for kids to not protect those kids.
I am passionate.
I am a father.
I do not understand a world where this happens.
And it's, it's, it's, it's, it's insane, dude.
I did, I just, oh, oh, look, as, as the spokesperson for Roblox, Ryan, we care about the children.
Oh, do you?
Okay.
As long as it doesn't affect our profit.
Oh, your bottom line.
Oh, you're bottom line.
Because if we do that, we're going to lose a whole bunch of people, you know, and then our profits go down.
Well, you see, Ryan, the predators can afford premium accounts.
Yeah.
I don't, I just, I don't understand the thought of like trying to wash this under and like being, being, you know, oh, no, no, no, you know, throw it under the rug.
Double down and say, no, this is not okay.
Roblox will be a safe place for children.
Roblox will be a place where kids can come together and hang out without the fear of this happening.
And make that your entity, make it your core.
You already target children.
Like, that's what your base market is.
Make it a safe place.
And double down, triple down, quadruple down, do whatever you have to do.
Take 5% of your net revenue and target that all towards making a safe spot for kids to play this game.
I do not understand why they can't do that.
And, dude, shame on them.
Man, they are, they, there's, I don't, man, I, I, I just, there's a special place for
anyone that does these kind of things and then people that protect it.
So, I'm with you, dude.
I mean, I, any place that is geared towards children, let's take an elementary school, right?
If you, you, you can't walk into an elementary school, like, they have protections in place.
Like, they have to check in at the office, they have security, you know, because there are children.
We should start a dating club at our elementary school.
You know, like, no, no.
Oh, is that not a good idea?
No.
Like, I mean, here's the thing, dude.
Like, you know, yes, Roblox, knowing that it is a platform that is frequented by the majority of children.
And look, I know a lot of grownups that really enjoy a lot of the games that are on Roblox.
And that's cool.
Like, but you have to understand your primary clientele and that is children and you have to protect them.
yes it's going to cost you money yes it's going to cost you time and and people investment
and things like that to do this but if you don't which they haven't been now you're in trouble
with you know Louisiana and I have a feeling a lot of other states are going to jump in on this
and maybe other countries countries have jumped in on this and started banning it and it's just sad
because it's like you should have done this in the first place you should not have to have
waited for governments to get involved to do these things that's why we know about it dude
that's why we know about it and that's the problem is that is that the only reason that we even
know this exists and this issue is here at our forefront and on our podcast we're you know
we like to think we do well we're we're here and we're for everybody but like we're not the
biggest entity and the fact that we're sitting here talking about this shows how far the reach
has come for something
like this and it's it's just
it's disgusting to me man it is so
it's sad like honestly it's sad
yeah but then it's disgusting because
it's like you should do something
about this you know
it's almost 70% are under 18
you can't just turn a blind eye to it
and hope that it goes away or doesn't exist
because you have your eyes closed like you
need to do better
and they have the money to do it
they have the money to do it they are widely
they are widely successful
They have the money.
They could do this.
Yep.
So anyway, not the funnest story.
Let's go back to gamescom guys.
You know, let's hope that we get a lot of awesome trailers.
We will, I mean, next week we're the, I can't wait for the next twig to be honest because we're going to have a ton of news to talk about and reveals and things like that as well.
Hold on.
Hold on.
This is me coming back.
Backtracking.
$3.6 billion is what Roblox revenue was in 2024.
That's a lot of money.
money. That's a lot. So don't
say you don't have the money. You could spend
$100 million and still
make a whole buttload of cash.
$100 million on $3.6 billion, it ain't
that much. So,
sorry, I just had to say that. I love
fired up, Ryan.
I'm here. I'm here. I told days
a while ago, I was like, I got some stuff on this. I want to
say, like, I'm, I mean, it should be. This is
things that we should, as
gamers and especially gamer parents,
be concerned about, man.
You know, it's like anything
else in the gaming world right we have like we have always said don't be toxic to people like
don't trash people for opinions gamers like just just game together man like gaming is an escape
it's fun like you know our whole community this podcast is based on that thought that it's like
treat each other with respect you know like don't trash each other for opinions and things like that
but dude like you know it's like if i was playing a game and i was in a lobby where somebody was
harassing a woman that was in that lobby for the simple fact that she's a woman,
you better be darn sure I'm going to say something to that idiot because it's like, bro,
you are not what gamers should be and you are not representing me as a gamer, dude.
Absolutely not.
And I absolutely will 100% speak up and say something if I see it or I hear it, you know,
because this is not something that we should be perpetuating as a gamer mindset at that point.
And when it comes to Roblox, it's like, dude, how are we not treating this like it is something
that absolutely needs to be addressed, dude, you know?
And I'm not saying get rid of Roblox, right?
Like, there are 111 million people that play Roblox, right?
Like, I'm not trying to take away your entertainment, but that company has to do better.
You know, you have to protect the kids, the minors that are playing these games.
Because let's be honest, we're gamer parents, but do you know how many parents out there have
zero clue what their kids are doing.
Mine did. You know what I mean? Mine had no clue.
I get that you should say, hey, this is a parent problem, not a Roblox corporate problem,
but the problem is it kind of is a Roblox corporate problem, as is evidenced by the fact
that they're getting sued by governments. Yeah, by governments. And all we need to know
is that Chris Hanson is coming in to save the day and he's going to do a documentary on this.
Yeah, it's a bad sign. You really messed up.
Why don't you take a seat right over here? That's what it's going to hit up the Roblox
people with, so we'll see.
All right, guys, we went way too long on this.
Yeah, we really went for us.
But hey, you know, bonus content for everybody.
We are good.
We're going to wind this one down.
We didn't even get to the PETA news about wanting to remove a nose ring from a fake cow, guys.
Ooh, fake cow.
Oh, my goodness.
Or the first descendant using AI ads with fake streamers.
That's so bad.
Here's my take on that.
These ads are hot, hot garbage.
Dude, that'll work itself out.
Trust me, you don't have to worry about this.
Like, if you, this is your advertising, you're doomed for failure anyway, people.
Just let it play out.
We don't need to step in on this one, man.
Use the Bigfoot.
Don't use the people.
Yeah, yeah.
You'll get a lot more attention.
I freaking love AI Bigfoot videos.
A.
And the AI Stormtrooper ones, like those things.
Oh, my goodness.
All right, listen.
