Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the video gamers podcast.
Oh boy, it's been a week for gaming.
August is here and we'll be talking some of the upcoming August game releases
is Battlefield 6, the return to.
form we've been hoping for,
Bioshock 4 is in trouble
and more on this week in gaming.
But first, some introductions are in order.
I am your host, Josh, and joining me,
he's my helicopter gunner, my medic squad mate,
it's extraordinary, and my gaming rider die.
It's Ryan.
Bro, I want Battlefield to be good, so bad
so that we can just do that and just run and just run
gun in that chopper man it's going to be so great dude we're going to all right we're going to talk about
battlefield six i'm not going to lie this might as well be the battlefield six episode everybody
because we got a lot to talk about uh we have a complete nob to the battlefield franchise
an ace who has no idea what to expect but let's introduce them first and joining us he's a
complete total nob to battlefield which means he's basically cannon fodder but maybe just
Maybe we'll make a soldier out of him yet.
It's Ace.
What do you mean?
There's no Nikki Minaj skins in this game.
I know, Ace.
Don't worry.
There absolutely will be a battle pass that you can purchase for this game.
Oh, thank goodness.
My heart.
Ace is like, where do I spend money?
Like, what?
Come on.
Ace just has his credit card, like, taped to his monitor.
So it's just, you know, so it's just like tap here to buy battle pass.
The keys, the keys on his keyboard for like the numbers on his
Carter like worn out. It's just macroed in. Yeah. Oh, man. Oh, goodness. Well, welcome in everybody. We have a lot of gaming news to talk about. I mean, what a week, guys. We honestly, we're probably not even going to get to like some of this news, but it's August. There are some pretty decent game releases this month. So we're going to bring some of those up. We had the Nintendo partner direct that happened. I don't even know if we're going to get to that. But let's be honest, there's really. There's, there's. There's. There's. There's. There's. There's. There's.
There's no loss there if we don't get to it.
I do have one question.
Did you guys even know that
Bioshock 4 was in development?
I had no clue.
I thought the next thing we were getting was a Netflix series.
Honestly, that's what I thought.
Ryan, did you know?
Did you know?
No, I didn't know either.
Okay, well, there you go.
This is why it's gaming news, everybody,
because apparently Bioshock 4 was in development.
I thought we were just getting Judas.
Yeah, I thought that was Bioshock 4.
Yeah.
But apparently there was a Bioshock 4 that was being developed, and apparently it's not very good so far.
So everybody's making Judas.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Oh, man.
All right.
Well, listen, boys, I'll tell you what, one quick announcement at the top of this show.
If you didn't hear our last episode, we are changing our release schedule moving forward five shows a week.
It was a little crazy.
I'll be honest, I think it was a little crazy for the listeners, too, because we've got nothing but positive feedback about this change.
We are going to three shows a week.
Shows are going to release Mondays,
Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Mondays will always be the main,
what we call the main show,
the main episode.
Tuesdays are going to be twigs like this.
If there's not enough gaming news,
that's kind of our alternate fun episodes that we do.
And then because he's just been bust in his butt lately,
we are giving Ace a prime time spot on Thursdays for the indie episode.
I know,
Hey, just flex it for a second,
Ace, because you've earned it, man.
You know,
The prime time slot is mine.
I mean, you know, honestly, we love indie developers.
And Ace is so in touch with that.
And it's like we really wanted to kind of put that to the forefront and just kind of give it its own spacing as well.
So indie episodes will be on Thursdays now.
And that way we can all just keep loving this.
The listeners can feel like they're not falling behind.
It's just a good change.
But there you go.
That's the new schedule moving forward.
I just said before I'm tired boss
All right guys
I got to start off right
Because we have all been playing grounded too
We talked about grounded too
We have been playing it
What are your initial thoughts about grounded to
I'll let you go first round
Because I got a lot more to say
So how like
I did want to ask this
And I'm going to ask it live on our show
Like are we going to cover this
Or are we going to like do a deep
dive on this or we not? Because I don't know how much I want to get into it. The early access is the issue. So I would say not like a formal deep dive. Like when it releases fully like I'm in, dude. Like I'm in at that point. But I have some issues with grounded to in its current state that we can talk about really briefly because we got a lot of news to cover. But I more so just because people know that we've been playing it. We've been playing it together, which has been a lot of fun. And I kind of just wanted to get like your preliminary thoughts on it. For sure. So, um,
I guess long of the short is, dude, I freaking love it.
Like, I love survival crafting, but there's so many survival crafting games.
What are you going to do to set yourself apart?
Their perspective in this world is everything I love about something unique and great in a video game.
Like it, every time I go to like a perch or somewhere I can look out and I just marvel at what they've created.
So early access, what they've made so far, it is a little bit buggy.
And I know we got some jokes on that one for sure.
But I'm loving what I'm playing so far.
I think it's unique.
I think the world is amazing.
I think the perspective they've created is awesome.
So overall, it has been a fantastic experience from what we've played together so far.
Yeah, what about you, Ace?
I agree fully, dude.
It has been a phenomenal game so far, even in early access with its quirks and bugs, especially the one that annoys Josh the most.
Oh, I'm going to bring it up.
Don't you worry.
Don't you worry.
But this, even though you didn't play the first game, this is everything I would have wanted from a sequel so far.
There's improvements on, you know, resource gathering.
There's improvements on the movement and the ways to get around the map, because the map is huge, which love that, by the way.
And there's improvements in the combat, which I was worried about with the class system and all these new weapons and things.
I'm just like, oh, this is perfect.
I'm not great at survival games, but I really enjoy Grounded 2.
Yeah, I'm with you guys, dude.
Grounded 2 is honestly fantastic.
It stands apart from most of the survival crafting genre.
I, like Ryan, like you, I'm a huge fan of this genre,
but at this point, it takes a lot to impress me.
Abiotic Factor is probably the last survival crafting game that I played,
where I went, whoa, like this game is legit.
And honestly, I'll still say that I think abiotic factor,
is better than Grounded 2, but Grounded 2 is not a full release yet, whereas Abiotic Factor is.
That being said, grounded 2 is a freaking blast.
I mean, it's like you guys said, I love every minute that I'm playing the game with the
exception of when I log in and it has not saved my keybines.
Guys, this is the most infuriating thing in the world.
It's 2025.
I work with developers at my job, so I get a little bit of insight into like, hey, this should
be the easiest thing in the world to fix. The easiest thing in the world to fix. How did you not
hot patch this thing and be like, oh, sorry, guys. Like we, you know, you couldn't, you couldn't save
your key binds. We fix that for you. But guess what still happens? I can't save my key binds,
man. It's so annoying. But everything else about this game, dude, is top notch. If you are hungry
for a survival crafting game that actually stands apart, plays amazing, looks amazing, is super fun
with friends it just keeps you going man grounded to by the time this thing's a full release this
is going to be absolutely one of the top survival crafting games out there dude which is why they
should have waited well then we wait and just release your game when it's done that's fair
that's fair to be honest with you because it's on game pass like i mean they're not making a ton
of money off the early access right now i don't know i'm a stickler i i am such a crotchety old man
against these early access and early releases and stuff, but I don't know.
I just, I hate like everybody lining up and going and you lose your enthusiasm for a game
when it's buggy and it's in it, there's a bunch of junk that they have to fix.
When you know, hey, I'm in a beta test and the game's not out yet, it's different.
Your perception is different.
So I don't know.
I just, I do not like these early access, early releases, but I have had an amazing time playing
so far.
So I don't know.
here's the one caveat to that Ryan is like for me you guys have been able to play a little bit more than I have you guys have progressed a good way here's the problem in my brain my brain at this point goes I'm kind of far behind on what you guys have accomplished this is just early access so like instead of trying to play catch up it's like I'll just wait for the game to come out you know what I mean like I don't want to dive in so much where I'm going to lose my progress or all this stuff because now it's like I'm waiting on the full game release to happen to where it's like I know I like
this game. I know I'm looking forward to playing
this game. So let me just wait until the game
actually comes out and then I'll dive in.
But it's like this weird
limbo area that it's in with like early
access and oh it's not the full
game so I'm just going to wind up stopping
and then I'll start playing later on
kind of thing. My brain
just kind of goes well I'll just stop playing now then.
You know? Especially with you
you know, Gamer ADD man like you
game only holds you for so long
and there's a lot of people that are that way
you know so like you get in for free and early access like why would you ever come back like oh
i had my experience it was awesome it was fun it was a good time onto something else you know right
and honestly that's part of my worry is like is like when it fully releases am i going to be
interested again or is it going to be like no i've already played that kind of thing so
all right gents august is here a brand new month of games i will say this it might not be
the best month for releases but we do have a couple games
are you guys excited about i don't want to just read down the list but i want to see is there is there
like something on this list that draws your attention there is to to me and i'm pretty sure
universally there is one huge release coming in august that i think we're all very excited for
ryan what game is that that would be metal gear metal gear metal gear solid delta oh poison blah blah
I'm August 28th, Metal Gear Delta.
I am so excited, dude.
It's like just that thing that's always been hovering there for a while,
because they announced it a long time ago.
And I remember seeing clips and videos of it.
And it just, I'm like, okay, well, I'll see it when it comes and when it happens.
And, you know, and it's just always hovering.
And then finally, the time is here.
We're in August.
It's going to be released this month.
I'm very excited.
I'm more than anything excited for Ace.
In my screens, this is where he is.
I was going to say, I'm over here.
Because he's there for me.
So I'm pointing to Ace right now.
If you're watching, by the way, we have video.
So if you're not watching, you should be watching.
Yeah, you should be watching.
I'm excited for Ace to experience it.
He's never played a Metal Gear game.
It is one of the best by far and totally remade like it's going to be.
I think it's going to be an amazing experience.
experience and everyone should check it out, but I'm especially excited for Ace and to get his
thoughts on it because I do, he's a, he's a video game aficionado and I'm excited to see what he
thinks. Yeah, I'm excited to get into that one too, honestly, especially from what I've seen,
it looks like it's just a good time. So I was like, okay. I'm, I'm hoping I'm not going to be
too confused with the story and stuff. Oh, no, you will be. You won't, you won't understand
what's going on. Okay. Okay. Don't be worried about that because there's no way you're going to
understand what the heck's going on i've played these games a hundred times and i don't still know what's going
on like it's it's it's that's just konami you know it's a kachima game i guess yeah i will say this i'm
super excited about this too i've only played one metal gear game and that was metal gear solid five
that you made me play ryan and i loved it i was like bro okay i'm in like this i see why people
love this series so i really like the fact that we have like you who's hardcore has loved
this series forever you have me who has played one game now so i actually have something to
it to now. And then you have Ace who has not ever played one of these. I think the game looks
fantastic. To me, that's the big release for August. Now, before we don't give credit where credit
is due, boys, I mean, let's be honest, for democracy, for liberty, for Super Earth. The reinforcements
are coming, boys. The reinforcements are coming. Guys, Hell Divers 2 releasing on Xbox. Oh,
goodness what a good time that is going to be i mean people in our community are already planning this
and talking about this and if you have ever wanted to play hell divers too and you haven't been
able to if you want people to play with because let's be honest dude hell divers too should be played
with friends it's not that it's not super fun solo but with a squad it's just even better this is
your opportunity hell divers too coming to xbox on august 26th is absolutely fantastic in my
opinion.
So don't forget about that one.
Is it coming to GamePass as well or just straight to Xbox?
I don't think it is.
No.
Actually, I think that was one of the criteria as they said it's not coming to Game Pass.
I was just curious.
I think this way Sony gets kind of their share of the IP or something like that.
I guess that's fair.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So good, I mean, that is something to consider is it's not coming to Game Pass.
So you are going to have to buy it.
But I think all three of us can unanimously say this is worth whatever money they're going
to charge.
If it's $40, which is what the release price was, just trust us.
Pony up the 40 bucks, man.
Give them the money. Give it for sake, my money.
Yes, you will not regret it at all.
This one is interesting, boys.
And I'll be honest with you, this one's weird to me because it's kind of off my radar.
But I feel like it shouldn't be.
And that's Gears of War reloaded, man.
This is the remake or remaster, I guess, for Gears, the original Gears of War.
It's coming to the PS5, which is bonkers, dude.
Like for the first time ever, ever, man, the times we live in,
Gears of War on a PlayStation, what?
You know?
Balanced as all things should be.
My dual sense is, my dual sense is just going to explode when it's really
Yeah, with the chainsaw sword, like, boom, I'm like, oh my goodness, man.
So it's really weird to me because absolutely beloved,
franchise there was nothing like gears of war here we are we're getting a like a remaster for it it's
getting this release across almost all platforms it's going to be on playstation finally it's going to be
on xbox pc dang if i don't love gears of war and i feel like i should be hyped about this but
there's an odd part of my brain that just kind of goes like i've already played gears of war and
i loved it back then like what more can i do like i already had this experience i love this
experience. I don't know that I'd need to try to experience it again. But at the same time,
it's been like 20 years since I've experienced it. So it's kind of like, I don't know, man. Are you guys
like, are you with me on this? Or is this like, I feel like I'm weird about it, but I don't know.
How do you guys feel about it?
Gears is another blind spot for me. So it's like, does it play to a point where I'd want to play
it again and enjoy it or play it at all and enjoy it? Because like, it looks clunky when I look
at the gameplay back then
I just wonder if it holds up. You never played gears?
No, Ryan. I was a lonely child
all right. So
Ace might have to play games.
You got to play it, dude. A hundred percent
dude. There's, there, okay,
I'm going to tell everybody
sitting out there, you know, close
your eyes, press the ear. This is
a thing I want you
to envision is standing
behind this box. It's
the end of the world.
And you just turn
around quick activate your chainsaw and you chainsaw that guy right in half and it is the most
satisfying feeling in the world there is nothing like it gears of war is an all-timer it is it is one
of those games that everybody should play check out you should listen to gary jules well you play at mad
world um it is uh it is it is an amazing game i for one will definitely be playing this and checking
it out i love gears of war i haven't played it in a many many years
But I'm definitely going to come back.
I'll have two days until Metal Gear Solid comes out.
So I'm going to rip through it.
But I'm very, very excited.
And we'll definitely, dude, Ace, we'll get on and we'll play some multiplayer because
the multiplayer will pop off.
Go shoddy, aim at their knees.
So this isn't just another cover shooter.
This is the cover shooter.
This is legitimately.
It's something else, man.
It is a different world.
I said this before.
I don't know if there was a cover shooter.
base shooter before Gears of War.
If there was, I don't remember it.
And if it was, it was kind of like not done
the way the Gears of War was done.
But man, Gears of War is the
game that put cover base shooters
on the map. And the story
is great. The gameplay is great.
It feels weighty as anything.
This is a game that everybody needs to experience
honestly. So, all right, we got
to move forward a little bit. Mafia, the old country
is another game coming out.
This game looks fantastic. I'll be honest.
This is one of those games I'll probably never play.
And that's no shade to the game itself.
It's just I don't know the franchise.
There's too many other things on my plate as far as games that I want to play.
I think this game looks fantastic.
It's probably going to be fantastic.
But this is just a blind spot for me where I again, I'll probably never play it.
But that comes out August 8th, which is darn soon, man.
That's later this week.
The only downside there is you know what else is coming out this weekend, boys?
Battlefield 6!
Oh, my name is the only.
been made up for Battlefield 6.
Oh, man.
It's not a love letter.
I don't want a love letter.
I just want a good game.
It's a return to form, Ryan.
Oh, goodness.
All right, listen, we've got to take a quick break,
but we're coming back with Battlefield 6 news, everybody.
We'll be right back.
Okay, we've respawned, guys.
Go, go, go.
It's to the point.
No, no, Ryan, grab the chopper.
Grab the chopper.
Grab the chopper.
oh man okay listen listen everybody that's been listening to this podcast for a while
knows how much we hate and we despise battlefield 2042 what they did to our beloved
franchises unforgivable we will never forget oh wait a minute battlefield six we forget you
how easily they forget oh man guys i resisted i tried so hard
it was this the hype.
I even said,
I'm not going to pre-order.
I don't trust him at all.
And then the big Battlefield 6 multiplayer reveal,
the gameplay reveal came out,
and I still went,
dang it that's pretty good.
But no, no, I don't trust you.
You said this about 2040.
And then I just started seeing more trailers.
And I was like, who, okay, that looks pretty cool.
Oh, oh, the destruction looks sweet.
Wait, you can hang on to the back of a tank.
And then, dude, I have, I have crumbled like a cheap brick wall, man,
to where I am just so on this Battlefield 6 hype train now.
Ryan, I know Ace doesn't know what to expect,
but I feel like you're with me on this, man.
I am with you, man.
I was, I mean, we are purebred, like, original Battlefield, you know, purest.
Like, we have been there since the beginning.
one of my favorites was Battlefield Vietnam
10 million years ago
I know these big maps
amazing combat destructible environments
like everything about Battlefield
and what makes Battlefield what it is
is just
what I saw in these trailers
like that's what made me excited
and I'm like dang it
you know I just
and I am a known sucker for a good trailer
like if you put a just awesome music
and cool stuff blowing
up like that's me so
I totally got sucked
into this I 100%
I'm excited I hope I'm not let down
I hope so much I'm not let down dude because I don't
I can't take anymore I can't take it anymore
I cannot take it if this here's the here's the issue
I again they always make incredible trailers
the battlefield 2042 the love letter to the fans trailer
was an incredible looking trailer dude they pulled out all of the
historic battlefield gameplay moments
and they served it up to
us and then they kicked us in the nads with the actual release of the game and and i mean people
have been here this has got to be comical to people because they're like bro you guys have been
trashed in battlefield 2042 for the last like year now you said you were out you said you'll never
trust these guys again and here we are just freaking hyped as anything i can't help it dude
here's why it looks too good here's why it looks good it passes the eye test they have talked
about the things they did wrong with 2042 they've said look we've learned our lesson
classes are back you know the maps are going to be the like the better maps without all this
empty space uh the movement they got rid of tax sprint and all that stuff trying to turn this
into call of duty like you know the movement looks fantastic the gunplay looks fantastic the stuff
where it's like your buddies can now hang on to the back of a tank so that your squad can
just charge into a point together instead of like me running behind you guys going where
you know and then everybody just gets wrecked like it looks like they are legitimately
fixing the problems with with the game uh vince zampanella is the guy from respawn that made
titan fall guys titan fall is fantastic dude yep yep respawn knows what they're doing this guy knows
shooters and if there is a guy that i would go okay this guy probably knows what makes
shooters fun he probably understands what gamers want it's that dude and when 2042 flopped they
went old guy you're canned i don't remember that guy's name vince ampinelli you're in your job is to
revive the battlefield franchise make it something that gamers love again every person every article
every trailers that i have seen is people saying guys i've played it it feels like what we wanted
battlefield to be and my goodness if that doesn't get me so excited i got goosebumps i know i'm not
kidding i do please i can't take another disappointment man i really can't i don't think you could i don't
think either of you could i think you might double over in your chairs i i i don't even know i don't even know
so okay ace all right you've never played battlefield not a one have you played any call of duties
i have played call of duty ghosts and i played the campaign okay okay i'm with you on the
I've only played a couple call of duties in my life because I was a battlefield guy.
Now, here's the one thing that I got to ask Ace on this one is Ace, you famously despise
our Halo Infinite Community Nights, which is really weird to me because you play the heck out
of some shooters, man.
Like Marvel rivals to you is probably your favorite game still right now.
Yeah.
Is that fair to say?
Favorite rotation for sure.
And it's not like you don't like shooters, but like,
I don't know what to expect because I go, Ace hates Halo with a passion,
with a passion, but he loves rivals.
I don't know what to, I don't know what you're going to think about Battlefield, man.
I am optimistic due to the class system, which means I don't need to necessarily be a crack shot at, you know, being a first person shooter in general.
I could play like more a medic or a support role within the team and serve just as well a purpose.
and that that gives me a hold
at least because I'm so
used to everyone just kicking my butt
at first person shooters, man.
Yeah. I just can't do with that perspective,
man. I'm so bad at it.
That's what's so cool with Battlefield is like
the other class systems
they make them fun.
Like, you know, being
an engineer or a medic and stuff
is still enjoyable. It's not just like, oh,
I do it just because like it's
fun. Like so if Josh
is the pilot and I'm the
and you're the engineer and you're
fixing the helicopter, like,
it's an enjoyable experience.
Well, we're just ripping through
and just mowing down everybody.
Like, it's fun.
We're all laughing.
We're all having a good time.
So as long as we can play together
and we can have these experiences,
I think it's going to be fantastic
if the gameplay,
all they have to do is make it like it used to be.
Like, that's it.
That's all you have to do, man.
Make it like it used to be.
Make it fun.
It has to be open, but not desolate.
Like, the destructible environments look great.
The gunplay has to be good.
That was a thing 2042 was terrible.
Oh, yeah.
It released in such a buggy state that, like, even a hit registration was a disaster.
And it's like, dude, how do you make a shooter when your hit registration sucks, man?
Yeah.
Like, it's literally the core of your game.
Yeah, I remember seeing gameplay for that one.
That one was rough.
I was talking to Patrick in our community earlier because he was saying,
hey, he's not much of an online gamer, and, you know, he likes shooters, but usually just solo,
and he's kind of worried about the, am I going to get wrecked because I don't play a lot of these
games? The beauty of Battlefield is you play as a squad. You are not just a lone wolf running across
a hill, getting wrecked by, you know, 20 other people. You will absolutely die like 40 times in
battlefield. Like, that's the point, right? It's all out warfare. That's kind of the motto for
battlefield is it's all out warfare and it's like you're going to get wrecked but you respond in like
i don't know eight seconds or something like that you can pick your spawn points you can change classes
on the fly if you're getting obliterated by a tank and you're like guys we need an engineer to get
this tank off this point you just spawn in as an engineer then and so battlefield to me is that game
where it's like you do not have it's not call of duty it is not the sweatiest of sweat fest when it comes
to a shooter it is the let's have a good time as a squad of
people. If infantry combat is not your thing, dude, grab a tank and you can wreck people
with a tank, dude, you know? And if tanks aren't your thing and you get lucky enough to grab the
helicopter, learn how to fly the helicopter. And now you're, you're just mowing people down, man.
Like, there's so much variety to the gameplay and how you play in Battlefield. To me, that's what
makes the franchise so incredible. And man, if I'm not freaking hyped for this, dude.
I mean, my biggest concern with these kind of games is always is one, one,
person sucking at the game going to bring down the entire team like if you think of like you know siege or even cod in some modes like if one person really sucks me during halo infinite night you really bring down the entire score of the team it's not like that at all dude like honestly it's not like that at all like coordination is way more important than mechanics when it comes to battlefield okay so i can get behind that if like if that's what it is squad base play to me like if you're the squad leader the squad leader is the person that your squad leader is the person that your squad
can respawn on.
So you're a mobile spawn point.
So when you're fighting over a point,
the squad leader should like legitimately kind of stay hidden.
Like you don't want your squad leader to get killed because now you got to
respond way over there and then hope you can find some vehicles and get back to the
action and stuff like that.
So like a good squad leader will will kind of just chill out of combat.
Like he maybe, you know,
he'll still chuck some grenades and stuff like that.
But like the coordinated effort of a team is way more important than the like just gunplay
mechanics.
Now, all that said, it is absolute sheer chaos, dude.
And that's one of the things I love about Battlefield, man, is when you've got 64 people fighting over like two points or something like that, it is madness, dude.
And you are going to be standing there and a wall falls on you and kills you.
And you can't be mad because that's what happens.
Because you're going to kill a lot of people that way too.
So, like, you can't be upset.
But then you pop back up, you respawn.
Hopefully it's on your squad leader and then you go back to the point.
You know, you can keep, keep at it.
So there's just, there's so much there that lends itself to just continuous fun with the gameplay.
And that's what I like.
I love the loop of Battlefield.
All right.
I'm getting hyped for this.
It sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun.
Doing it with a group, especially our group, with how good we are all together anyway.
And no one makes you feel like really bad for sucking at a game.
we're going to get a VGP team like 32 this weekend listen if you want to check it out with people
if you want to check this out with people I can't tell you how many people in our community
us included are so amped for the open beta this weekend come join us like my my hope is that
we get like 30 people in in a match dude where it's just like go here go there we're all on
voice comms like it is an absolute blast so if you want people to play with absolutely come
join our community if you're not a part of it already because we are planning on playing a lot
this weekend and the more the merrier in something like this that's the beauty of battlefield dude is
you can get these giant maps where it's like i don't think they're doing the 64 v 64 anymore
that was one another problem with 24 that's a lot of people that's too much like 32 versus 32 is
honestly perfect but you also have the different modes you have the smaller maps where if you want
infantry only and you want to play it a little bit more like call of duty you can
If you want the giant conquest mode where there's literally fighter jets and helicopters
and anti-aircraft and this like massive scale warfare, that's honestly one of my favorite
modes.
That's all I have that option.
Conquest. Yeah, exactly.
So it's just, it's got a little bit of something for everybody.
A couple other things that they're doing the right thing.
They're calling it portal.
This is basically forge from Halo where you can actually make your own maps and your
own gameplay elements.
man that sounds really good because now you get fan made maps and like i mean those are going to be
some of the best um they don't have a dedicated server browser but they are making it much easier
to like look at all of the games that are going on and say oh i want to join this in progress game
kind of thing which they didn't have in 2042 which is a huge thing um the fact that the class
system is back is awesome um they have a new mode coming that's called escalation that looks
really cool where it's almost like a battle royale and i know that there's a lot of people that
do they're going to try to force this to be a battle royale and i hope that they're not but this
escalation mode basically will over time kind of destroy or shrink parts of the map to kind of force
people into smaller combat areas to kind of up that chaos level which i think is going to be
fantastic dude um it comes out in august i mean here's my thinking dude if this open beta this
weekend goes well, I'm going to lose it, boys. I'm going to lose it. I mean, I'm going
to be like, we are back. We are so back, man. If I happen to the open beta and it's a buggy
freaking mess, my disappointment level will go through the roof, but at least at that point,
I'll be like, I knew it. I knew it. You can't trust them. They always pull this.
They better do it right for this beta, because they got a lot to prove. So if, if, if,
it's not, you know, if it doesn't go off seamlessly and, and perform well and is free of bugs and
everybody has fun. Like, if it's not that way, like, man, ooh, that's, that's, that's, they're in
trouble. I mean, if there's not mystery boxes and crossovers, I'm going to be pissed.
Yeah. No, Nicky Minaj crossovers. That's another thing where they say, guys, we're going to have
grounded skins in this. No Nikki Minaj kind of thing. Yeah, I'm glad for that. Also makes me very happy.
I can't have a Sabrina Carpenter skin. What?
What? Well, do you remember in 2042, they tried to release the Santa Claus?
Yeah, that didn't go well for them.
They're like, bro, come on, man. This is freaking battlefield.
Yeah, it's battlefield, man.
That went so poorly for them.
I'm with you in the thinking, Ryan, that if I were them, my number one concern would be this beta has to be good.
This beta has to be good.
The game is coming out in October.
That's two months.
You know what I mean?
Literally September October.
And I think it's October 10th, if I remember the actual.
early in the month. Yeah, I feel like it's not at the end of October.
I think it's the 10th, yeah. That's one where it's like, if you're open beta sucks, dude,
you're going to lose so many people. So my hope is that this just knocks our socks off,
winds up being an absolute blast and Battlefield is back, baby. That's all I want to be able to say,
man. Yeah. So, all right. That's going to do it for this episode, everybody. Come join us,
come play some Battlefield with us this weekend. Uh, you know, we've got over 1,100 gamers in our
community. This is not that Discord server where you join and there's like awkwardly like 16 people
in there. And you're like, oh, this is weird now. Like, okay. And now they're going to see me leave,
which makes it awkward too. We trust me, we're gamers. We get it. So come join our community.
It is the best gaming community on the planet. The link is in the episode description.

gaming. See you. Peace out.
