and welcome to the video gamers podcast live.
That's right.
We are recording this episode live in front of the world,
and we are absolutely amped to be doing this,
and boy, do we have a great show in store for you.
March was on track to set a record
for the most awesome game release month, possibly ever,
but four major game delays later,
and it's still looking like an absolute banger.
But what's coming out and why should you be excited?
Well, we're going to tell you and show you.
But before we get to the festivities,
some introductions are in order.
I am your host, Josh, and joining me,
if toxic commando doesn't tear us apart,
our relationship will be consecrated
in the glorious gore of zombies,
It's Ryan
You know, the only time I've seen you
Like more upset and more toxic
Like in a game is Overwatch
But you are totally
It's called toxic Commando, right?
And you embrace it thoroughly
Absolutely
What, okay, wait a minute, wait a minute
How was I toxic?
You left me in a Jeep
And just drove away and then went
Why aren't you healing me
When I was just by myself with a swarm of zombies
So don't even
Okay, okay
See, I seem to recall there was you looting while I was dead.
What was I supposed to do?
I was by myself.
You know what, Ryan, that's in the past, buddy.
We have absolutely moved on from that.
I'll bury the hatchet.
There is no hard feelings at all.
I'm like a goldfish, brother.
Forget.
Yeah.
Yeah, there you go.
What are we talking about?
And joining us.
We have no clue if he's excited for these AAA releases,
but we know he'll be playing him whether he likes it or not.
It's Ace.
I think I've played my one AAA game of the year.
Can't I go back to my Indies now?
No, no.
This is what you signed up for, man.
When you agreed to be on this podcast, man, you were like, hey, dude, yeah, I'm going to play these games.
And then we're like, okay, we'll see.
All right.
Goodbye, $70 every week.
You did the toxic commando demo with us.
He wants to go with that.
He wants to go back to playing, what is it, plenty of dudes?
Or what were you playing?
Oh.
Oh no, we're not talking about.
We're just going here, man.
We're not talking about how many dudes yet.
Ace, we're, we're, we're, you know, we're, we're, you know, we're chatting.
And I've seen Ace playing all these demos prepping for his indie episode this week.
And then all of a sudden I see Ace of shame is playing how many dudes demo.
And I just took a screenshot of it and I just went, ace, you care to explain what you're playing to us right now.
It's not what it sounds like.
Oh, sure, sure.
No, it's an auto battling rogue like.
I swear.
Hey, it's 2026, pro.
I, you know.
Yeah, man.
It's for research.
It's for the indie show research.
Yeah, it is.
It's going to be on the indie show, so make sure to play the demo.
Oh, man.
Ace is going to start hiding his status, like, all the time.
I used to do.
I should go back to that.
Yeah.
Well, listen, welcome in.
everybody to this episode we have we got a lot to talk about on this one there is no way that this
episode's going 30 minutes it's not really the time we like to shoot for but we got a ton to talk about
we have trailers for for you guys that we're going to watch so that you can see some of these games
that we're talking about and why we're excited for them you know there's a lot of people out there
we take it for granted that they you know are diving deep into trailers and gameplay videos and stuff
like that so that's going to be a lot of fun because we get to do that together and kind of
react together with chat on these as well. Guys, before we get started on this, we need to give
a big old thank you to an awesome member of the community for somebody that signed up for
rare status to support this show. I love this guy. We miss every, you know, he posts like,
hey, does anybody want to play something? And I'm always at work. And I'm like, yes, I want to play
something. We just keep like missing each other. But a huge shout out to Cwondale, Dingle, the third.
who's been in our community for a very long time for signing up for rare status.
Guanda.
Guanda.
Thank you.
Thank you for that.
And listen, for anybody that is watching or listening, if you want to support this podcast,
you can do that over on Patreon.
There's a link in the episode description.
It's on our website.
But it is the support of the listeners that makes this podcast possible.
And we couldn't do this without you.
I don't know if people realize this.
Video games are real expensive now.
Yes, they are.
We were talking about like between Resident Evil Requiem, which we're going to talk about here in just a second, and, you know, Crimson Desert coming out later this month.
That's like, that's almost $500 worth of video games for the three of us to to pick these up, play them and do an episode on them and to review them and stuff as well.
And look, we ain't complaining because, you know, we love us some video games.
It's just to say that it is the support of the listeners that makes all of this possible.
So for everybody out there that's watching and listening, thank a supporter of this show for making it happen.
And, you know, everybody out there has our eternal gratitude for that as well.
So guys, we're going to do a full.
Don't you do that.
I saw that.
I saw it.
Oh, no.
I just saw like a flash.
No.
I just saw like a flash.
Oh, I know, because he tried to be all sneaky about it, man.
He tried to do it quick, yeah.
I don't want to speak.
spoil too much because we are doing a deep dive on Resident Evil Requiem.
But Ace, you beat it over the weekend.
I think I'm real close to the end.
I mentioned where I was at and you're like, bro, you're making great progress.
And then Ryan, who worked all weekend, I think, has played like maybe 20 minutes.
I went through the alley.
You went through the alley?
I went through the alley in the beginning.
Initial impressions.
We don't need a rating.
We don't want to spoil too much for the deep dive, but I know that we've been playing it.
It is the, you know, the hottest release.
It's the game that a lot of people in our community
You're talking about.
A, since you have beaten it,
what were your initial impressions
when you first started playing it?
My initial impressions are Resident Evil is back
in its truest form.
That is my initial impressions.
Yeah.
That's a pretty good impression initially.
Yeah.
I have not played a Resident Evil since Village.
Shocker.
You played four remake.
I did, well, but did I play?
I guess I played that after Village.
Yeah, but it's like,
it's a fan.
Fantastic, like, remake, but yeah, it's still four.
Half the time, you're just guiding around the president's daughter or whatever.
I kind of forgot how good the Resident Evil games are, guys.
And when I hopped in, like, my eyes in my ears and everything was just like, oh, this is so good, man.
Like, AAA, like, horror game, Resident Evil, it's back and, man, if I didn't play a lot over the weekend.
I wouldn't beat it with Ace if, uh, if, uh, if, uh,
Ryan and I hadn't put an ungodly amount of hours into marathon, which we are going to be talking about here very shortly.
But initial impressions of Resident Evil Requiem are, oh, man, Resident Evil is back.
And I can't play it enough right now.
I watched part of Aces Stream.
I watched part of Aces Stream.
And immediately, and I'm like, oh, that looks, that looks good.
You know, I didn't want to watch too much to get a spoiler.
But between that and then just even the little 15, 20 minutes that I played on that beginning intro,
Just being in that environment, I immediately was like, oh, I want to settle down and spend like six hours right now on this game.
So it immediately gave that effect.
And I'm very excited to do that.
I'll be able to do that next day or two and get a really long session in to beat it.
But, man, I'm pretty stoked.
It looks good.
My hype level was valid for that game.
I will say that.
No, rightfully so, man, for sure.
You were the most excited.
I kind of said I don't.
And I confess this.
I said, I don't really have a lot of hype for Requiem.
right now man and then i mean 30 minutes in you should okay yeah yeah i was like all right i'm
hyped now uh there are a few games like resonant evil and honestly these last few have just been
absolute bangers dude so i can't wait to talk about that we are doing a deep dive on that one pretty
much as soon as Ryan can finish it so if he finishes it this week it might be a deep dive
it'll be done for next week all right guys let's get into the march
and start talking about some of these games.
Now, we've been saying for a while
that March might be one of the greatest game release months ever.
Let me just give you guys four games
that were actually scheduled to release in March
that delayed out of March for possibly good reason, okay?
But then when we get into the actual March releases,
I want you guys to remember these four games
because everybody out there is going to be like,
Oh my gosh.
Like, can you imagine
if every one of these games released this month?
Like, it would be, we couldn't handle it.
I'm actually glad.
I don't think I've ever said this before.
It's okay.
It's okay.
No.
I am glad for some of these delays.
Okay, so one of my most anticipated releases of the year replaced.
We played the,
Ryan, did you ever get a chance to play this demo?
I have not regrettably been able to play the demo,
but I want to very, very badly.
I want to check it out.
This game looks, this game looks super, super sweet.
And I know you, you love the demo.
Oh, it is.
You played the demo.
I did.
I did play the demo.
It is super sweet.
And you're missing out.
I know.
It's freaking sick, dude.
I haven't even played Resident Evil, man.
I got no time.
So behind.
So Replace was originally scheduled to release on March 12th.
I am going to take some blame for this.
This is, I asked, I took off of work.
And I know better than this.
But it's March.
We're out of the busy season.
in like everybody at work. It's like this is the perfect time to take a few days off. People are
taking off to go watch like spring training games and stuff. Right. And I'm like, well, if people
are doing that, I'm going to take a day off and I'm going to play Toxic Commando and Replace because
they both come out in early to mid March. So yes, I'll take the blame on this one. I took these
days off and then sure enough, Freak and Replace gets delayed. It's your fault. And they delayed until
March, I'm sorry, until April 14th. So Replace says we're out. Too much stuff going on in March. We're an indie
game. We're hoping for a ton of success. I think they're going to find a ton of success, but replaced
out. They're in April now. Mouse P.I. Quite possibly the pinnacle of gaming to Ace, rats and black and white.
I don't know that it gets any greater. Ace, like, do you want to say something? Is this possibly like
the pinnacle of all evolution and gaming for you? I like how I've been sort of boiled down to
all me liking rats and black and white games. That's my entire identity.
Oh, and then I have a terrible diet.
We have years to back it up, dude.
I was going to remind you about your diet.
That's like, thank you for remembering that, so I didn't have to bring it up again.
I mean, MousePI is still one of my most highly anticipated games.
I think the pinnacle of gaming for me will be Marriachi Legends, honestly.
But MousePI is, I'm very excited for.
What kind of game is Mariettee Legends ace?
I'll give you.
I regret.
There's a lot of people that don't know.
Opening my mouth.
it's a Metroidvania
it is a Metro
So when we boil you down to something
Ace what you're saying is we're actually right
Yeah that you might actually have a point
Yeah
Okay, just make sure
Black and white Metroidvania
With a rat that's got a bad diet
His head will explode Ryan
Do not finish this sentence
Oh my gosh, we know what game did
Okay, we've lost Ace
We've lost Ace
So Mouse PI was originally
scheduled for March 19th, they noped out and said we're going to April. They are now relacing on
April 16th, two days after replaced. I'm kind of out on mouse PI guys. I'm not going to lie,
my interest for this game has completely waned. Now, if it comes out and everybody starts singing
its praises, I might be back in, but this is one where the reviews are actually going to matter
to me on this one, just because there's so many other games out there. Seros. So this is,
the spiritual successor to Returnal by How Smart Games.
Seros looks incredible.
Every video I see on this looks amazing.
They noped out of March.
And I feel like this is a AAA release, man.
That's a big release.
Yeah, that's crazy to drop out of March like that.
They noped out originally scheduled for March 20th, now releasing April 30th.
So guys, there was, we haven't even looked ahead to April, but now April is looking like
March all of a sudden.
sudden like we are we are feasting at this point um and then last but not least four game delays
007 first light which i think looks absolutely incredible originally scheduled for march 27th
now they noped out and they said now we're not getting we're not doing the april thing we're just
we're going to release in may uh so we're going to release may 27th at this point those four games
were originally scheduled for this month guys all yeah i'll
Off March.
And we're about to get into the games that are actually releasing this month,
but that is craziness to me.
Those on top of what we're going to announce is wild.
I would say there's one game this month, I think, that scared these games away.
I think you're right, but I also think that people might be overreacting just a little bit on this.
So, all right, well, let's, I'll tell you what, let's do it.
Let's get into these March releases.
We're just going to go in chronological order here,
people, you know, just at the start of the month. So releasing today. So this, this came out today
since this is a live episode and there's no delay on this. But World of Warcraft, the midnight
expansion is out. I know there's still a gazillion people out there that are in love with
World of Warcraft. I'll be honest, I, I've only dabbled. Ryan, I know you played the heck at it.
Did you ever play World of Warcraft, Ace? No, I've never touched wow.
This is like before your time, right?
Has you ever killed like 400 hogs to get like to level five?
I don't think I've ever played an MMO, guys, like at all.
It's not been, it's not been like something like my life.
Yeah.
How are we just finding this out now?
Ever?
Like any type of MMO?
No, that's never been a thing.
I've always had terrible internet and a computer that could run out.
He sees like this beautiful golden-crusted MMO.
And then he sees like this just junky like dumpster, Metroidvania.
And he's like, yeah, oh, yeah.
What M-M-M-M-M-O?
would Ace play though because New
World is dead. What would I play? Guild Wars
is still around dude. Guild Wars is
still alive man. Obviously
Yeah wow I mean it's never
too late Ace they just look how current
look how current world of Warcraft is
they just released an expansion today
I guess while is still kicking so I might
as well I was playing wow when you were like
six years old ace or something like that I don't know how
old the math the math maths
but it was around that time
yeah I
I don't, yeah.
So World of Warcraft for the people out there that love it.
I know they love it.
So, you know, I'm happy if you've got more content to dive back into there.
Okay, guys, we've got our first trailer, and this game is going to be huge.
It's going to be massive.
So I'm just going to play the trailer on this one.
Before I even talk about it, like, let's just actually get this trailer going on this one.
So let me turn this overlay off so I don't.
screw this up and then let's uh let's watch this trailer people it's probably
gonna be a little bit of a load here but here we that is not that's not the right
that is not the trailer technical issues now to be fair to be no no no no no no to be fair I
click the trailer so this is this is absolutely on uh on this software that is not the trailer
either okay people I what do you want guys want to finish this is this what they
who's our producer this is my favorite I am my favorite game ever guys
We're just gonna let this go.
Look at the graphics.
Look, I am clicking the trailer.
I'm clicking the trailer.
Please play the trailer this time.
If the intro music pops off again.
We did test this.
No, no.
Just so you everybody knows.
Here we go.
Here we go.
Okay.
I was going to wait for you say something.
Play the spire to early access is coming out March 5th.
Oh, what?
Like, in a few days.
Ryan's like, have you ever played a rogue-like card game, Ryan?
I have many, many moons ago.
I don't even remember what it was called.
There was some online game.
I played with my cousin Anthony.
And yeah, it was, it was what it was.
But I had literally no other games at all at the time.
I didn't have a system or anything.
So that's what I was forced to play.
A Slate Aspermire might be one of the greatest indie games ever made.
I'm sure it is.
A lot of people like it.
It's up there with one of the best
roguelikes ever made, honestly, for a lot of people.
Yeah.
If you consider, you know, card-based.
There are a lot of people that consider Slay the Spire
the best rogue-like game ever made.
Like, honestly, it's mentioned in, you know, with Hades,
but I love Slay the Spire.
Now, here's the thing.
Games that I absolutely am stoked for,
I generally don't pick up the early access
because I want the full experience,
but I'm going to be picking it.
get this one up in a few days boys i mean it's multiplayer too that's the cool thing yeah it's
co-op you can play with so co-op is the big thing they're adding on this one yeah um
so if you like it they're gonna love it like that's what's gonna happen basically oh absolutely
oh absolutely yeah so it the one downside to this is because it is early access it's pc only so
sorry console people yeah that one kind of sucks for the pc master race
there keeps happening so yeah yeah all right
So there you go. Slay the Spire.
Something to look forward to in a few days.
Ryan?
A live trailer, guys.
Ryan?
What?
We did play a live trailer.
No, I'm worried now because it wanted to keep our intro queued up.
So now when I go to play the next trailer, is it just going to play the Spire again?
I have a feel like it might.
So I am clicking the right button, people, I promise.
You ready?
Let's talk, Marathon.
You ready?
This is the game, dude.
freaking why can't the internet just be happy why can't the internet just be happy yeah ace is going to
take his nap now i i wonder if i can look and see let me i don't i'm a little embarrassed to even
mention this but i'm pretty sure oh it's got to be it's got to be over 20 it's not as bad as i thought
it's got to be over 20 it's not 20 hours it's 14 hours we're talking marathon i put in 14 hours
the weekend. Does any of that progress carry over to the main game? No, not not a single lick of it.
14 hours wasted. What? No, it's a warm up. It's getting ready. It's getting ready, man.
Ryan, why don't you, I want you to lead this off because our thoughts on marathon going into
Marathon's release were pretty low. We had no hype for this game. We had all the worry in the world
that this was going to tank, that this was going to flop, that it was too little too late,
Bungy
we won't go over
all the bad press
that happened
around Marathon
and the theft of artwork
and bad decisions
and stuff like that.
What was your
excitement level
going into Marathon
and what is it
now that we have played
a whole lot
over the weekend?
So like initially
I am a bungee nerd
obviously with Halo
and all the stuff we played
I have thousands of hours
in destiny
and then we see
this extraction shooter
coming out
marathon with this crazy like cell shading and in color palette and uh and the look like what are we
going to do here so initially what we were seeing we weren't liking and it just kind of almost kept
getting worse and then that all kind of changed once we started playing the game man once it got
closer and closer and we booted it up and we started to play it no matter how much you don't like
this or that it just ends up being fun like it we had a good time
We enjoyed our play-thrus.
We enjoyed our runs.
When you want a PVP, it gets sweaty.
When you're going around, the PVE element is very tough.
They are tanks.
They all will do some crazy damage to you.
Every bit of it was a really good time.
There's a reason you played 14 hours.
There was a reason that we streamed for five.
Research, Ryan.
I only did it for research.
Purely academic, obviously.
We streamed for five straight hours of marathon.
You know, so like it's, it's, it's, you don't do that unless you're having a good time.
And it's 40 bucks.
So why the heck not, man?
I'm going to absolutely buy this game.
I can't wait to really dive in and get a deep understanding on the builds and,
and what more you can do with this game.
But our initial impressions from that, uh, that weekend kind of play through was, was very high.
Yeah.
Uh, were you going to say something else?
Oh, I was.
Uh, I was just to say,
Shocker, Ryan likes another extraction shooter.
It's fun, man.
I like the sweat.
You don't like turn-based games or card-based rogolikes and things like that, which is fine.
And I don't like extraction shooters.
I can't get over the idea of losing everything I worked for to someone who was just camping the extract.
Can I play devil's advocate for a second here, guys?
Have you guys ever played more than one RPG?
Yeah.
Have you ever played more than, you know,
one roglight yeah yeah multiple games can coexist in a genre no you know what I mean
I know the I know the internet would have you believe that this is not a thing that can
actually happen okay but this is why I'm getting frustrated with like the social media
takes on this like arc Raiders versus marathon guys they're both great games like they can
exist together you know what I mean like they can exist together and guess what they're
different enough that they are going to satisfy different people. Here's my take on Marathon as somebody
that had zero expectations for Marathon at all. I was extremely pleasantly surprised by this game.
I went into it expecting absolutely nothing. And I got a game that is polished, super fun, atmospheric as
all get up. It's AAA in quality in every aspect. It was, you know, yes, they had a couple small issues,
but they fixed them before the server slam was even over.
You know, they had like a mouse bug and things like that.
Marathon can absolutely exist alongside Ark Raiders.
They're different games.
Are they in the same genre?
Yes, they are.
How many games exist in a genre?
No, only ones allowed.
Only one.
I set him off, chat.
I'm just saying it frustrates me to no end.
Is one better than the other?
Sure.
That's anytime you compare two things.
One thing is going to be better than another thing.
I like sausage on pizza, right?
Like, guess what?
Other people like pepperoni on pizza.
It doesn't mean that one shouldn't exist, right?
Because, like, somebody says that sausage is worse than pepperoni.
You want to order a pepperoni pizza?
Go ahead.
That's your take.
But it doesn't mean that you should try to, like, prevent people from liking sausage on their pizza.
Unless you want pineapple.
This is the same thing.
Okay, let's not get crazy here.
Your sausage pizza looks like someone puked primary colors all over it, though.
It looks.
But you didn't play it.
Once you start to play it, dude.
So ugly.
No, you got it.
You got to get in, once you get into that game and into that world, it all kind of makes sense.
And you see the colors for what they are and what the buildings are and how it all melds.
It is a little tricky at first to realize like what you can loot, like where the chests are, what you're looking for.
But once you really get set in that world and you understand what you're looking at, it kind of all just clicks.
And I learned to love those colors.
At first you're like, what is this?
And we said it.
Josh said it, I said it.
All of us said it on the initial trailers when we were first watching all that stuff about the game.
And then once we started to play it, a few runs in, you're like, oh, okay, I like this.
I'm starting to like this.
I get it.
I get it.
Even like everything about it is this cool, like high fidelity retro vibe.
Your cursor hair is a little square.
Your bullets on like the LNGs are little cubes.
So you're like, there's just this really.
neat aesthetic about it. And I know Josh and I were talking about this. Um, you know, we, we,
we are clamoring for uniqueness in games, something different, something that's not the same old,
just repetitive life like this or that or another call of duty, another battlefield, another, you know,
even our craters, like something different, something unique. And that's what this is. And that's,
that's what was so cool about it. It's not the best game. It's not better than arc raters in my
opinion. But does that mean it's not cool? Like, you know, pizza could be your favorite.
you know, food, just like Josh was saying about pizza, but you can still have a hamburger and
like it. Like, so there's, there's all this kind of, uh, uh, there's all this ability to, to enjoy
multiple types of games. And just because one in this certain genre is another, like another,
like, you don't have to just hate on it. It's a, it's a fun game. And it's 40 bucks. It's,
it's not 70. That is, that is for me, the biggest, like, takeaway on this is I had so much fun playing
marathon this weekend that I am buying marathon. You know, it's $40, guys. Like, everybody wants to
debate Arc Raiders versus Marathon, right? And I'm seeing some comments in chat that says like,
and they're right. You only have so much time to play video games, right? So like, which game are you
going to devote your time to? But do you know how like many millions of people are like me where I
put over 100 hours into Arc Raiders? And I'm done. I loved it. I, I, you know, there's no,
this is no slouch to anything. But like, like,
I'm done with art graders until they come out with like massive content updates, not just weather.
So like somebody like me, Marathon fits the bill perfectly because it feels new.
And yes, it's in that genre, but it's like I said, I had a ton of fun.
This is what video games are about.
It is about having fun with your friends.
And for $40, you can't, you can't beat that.
Like I'm going to easily get 40 hours out of marathon and be happy about that.
And then I'll guess what?
I'll move on to another game.
but I'll have gotten my fun and my value out of this.
And that's, that's basically it where we are telling you as people that played the heck out of marathon that had no expectations at all for this game that we both left going, I'm buying this game.
It's that fun.
Like, is it, is it better than our graders?
Who cares?
No, like, it doesn't matter whether it's better or not.
Something will always be better than something else, but it's worth your money and it's worth your time.
And that's, that's the main thing.
Um, pick it up, play with us.
Like we got to play with, you know, Dr. Joe nasty.
We got to play with Matt.
We played with, you know, several people and everybody that we played with said the exact same thing.
I, I, I, the art style is actually really growing on me.
And I'm having a lot more fun than I thought I was going to have playing this game.
So that's from gamers.
Yeah.
If you didn't like it, that's okay too.
Like people are looking for different things.
They have different pacings.
Marathon's way sweatier than Ark Raiders is.
Like that's the one thing I'll give it is it is way sweatier than Ark Raiders.
But sometimes it's a nice change of pace at the same time.
So all right, I'm going to get off my marathon soapbox there for people.
So next up, I have heard really good things about this game, guys.
Planet of Lanna 2 is coming out March 5th.
Everything's releasing March 5th.
What the heck is going on here, people?
Planet of Lanna, I have.
have heard amazing things about.
I've not played it.
I've seen people talk very highly of it.
Planet of Atlanta 2 seems to be highly anticipated by a lot of people.
But that's all I know.
Do you guys have anything to add about Planet of Atlanta too?
No, I know it's anticipated.
It looks really good.
High quality.
It's going to sell a ton of copies I can already tell.
It's just your average, you know, cozy exploration game.
And I think it'll do pretty well.
Yeah.
All right.
I know this is a big one.
And it's the only reason that it's even in here.
Pokemon, Pocopia.
Pocopia.
Pocopia.
My wife, my wife, who loves Cozy Games, was extremely excited for this game
until she found out it is Wompwomp, a Switch to Exclusive.
They got to sell that console somehow, brother.
I will never turn aside an opportunity to bash Nintendo.
you're telling me that this game wouldn't run on the original switch.
Come on, Nintendo.
It definitely would.
It would absolutely run on the original switch.
Yes.
This exclusivity is 100% so that they are trying to sell the switch to people.
There's nothing technical.
You can't be like, oh, well, the switch technology is just not there to run Pokemon
Pocopia people.
Like, yeah.
Yeah.
So, she might want to switch to.
I don't know.
It might work.
It's the problem, but, uh, here's the thing.
It's already going to sell a million copies because it's Pokemon.
But it's definitely going to sell a million copies because it's Pokemon and Animal Crossing.
I just want such.
I just want a really sick, like Unreal Engine 5, like super sweet Pokemon game.
Like, why, why is that a thing we don't have?
Pokemon's the biggest entity in the world.
It's the largest IP to ever have.
existed. Why do we not have the coolest Pokemon game ever? It would sell a bazillion
copies and they would make a bazillion trillion dollars. So I don't I don't get it. But I guess
they can just keep putting in like 200 grand and make whatever and then sell a
bazillion copies of that. Now don't worry, Ryan. We do have that game. It's called Powell World.
Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. All right. Coming up next people. And then after this one,
we're going to we're going to give some hints on our giveaway. We're doing a game giveaway that we
talked about, we might have done that before people tuned in.
We're going to be giving away a copy of either toxic Commando, Crimson Desert,
or Slay the Spire, too.
It's listener choice on this one.
Yep.
We have a little bit of trivia for you.
I want to talk about toxic Commando because we got to play the demo for this game.
We got to play the demo for this one.
And I was really, really happy with the way that this game played.
We had a great time playing this one.
All right, we have, we have a trailer.
The preview is not showing, so I'm a little worried
because we have a little like, hey, preview this trailer here.
Let's see the intro, let's see the intro.
I, you know, if this works, if this works,
we're gonna see, so let's see if it plays.
Oh, overlay.
Oh look guys, it's sling this fire too.
All right, all right.
See, I'm playing.
Initially this game looks so cool.
Guys, this is-
That looks like Absalom.
I am picking, I am playing the actual-
Bear with us, bear with us everyone.
I think it's gonna queue up.
I see it spinning, let's hope that it actually plays.
But I want people to kind of have an idea.
Our car blew up, so we're trying to find our way back.
Hey, that's me!
Oh no!
You guys suck his teammates.
So hurry, run boys, run.
Ryan, I see you in the car.
Drive your butt over here and res me.
All right, fine.
I'm trying to lose.
Ryan's running this is a hundred percent Ryan and I'm dead
I was on my way too you know I can't yeah yeah hey I want everybody that's
watching this stream this is why we say that Ryan just lutes when he should be
doing other things trailer I didn't make this I did not know about this
I'm a little fire fight
Cause it starts to loot and stuff
Oh man
It's the first run
I think that was our first run
I was our first run
You guys suck his teammates
Oh man
All right
You got me on that one
That was so good
I was not
It popped up and I was like
Wait that's our stream
What are you what are you playing here?
Oh that's funny
Well done. Well done. Bravo. Bravo. That was good. That was good.
We wanted to put together a little gameplay trailer just showcasing.
Ryan, do you remember at the beginning of the episode where I said I'm over it?
Yeah.
I wasn't over.
Apparently so. Apparently so.
Oh, chat is losing its mind over this. Oh, my gosh, dude.
That was well done. No, that was well executed.
I was not expecting that, especially with the song.
Louvreanger, dude
In my defense, I was looting
for the team. You know, I was trying to
get gear so that I could help the team
win, you know? That's what you do, right?
Josh was dead.
Yeah, I was dead.
There's nothing I could have done for him.
I was bleeding out, Ryan.
That says, here say.
Here's say.
Yeah, well, we have the video proof.
So, oh, my gosh.
Apparently, a lot of it.
Apparently a lot of it.
Your Honor, I bring new evidence to the stand.
Hey, gooper's going to goop, man.
Got to get what you can.
Ryan had no idea.
I did tell Ace, Ace knew that was coming to,
which is why Ace at the beginning of the episode
started gritted real big when we were talking about like,
Ryan, I'm past it.
It's fine.
Yeah.
It's over now.
Guys, toxic commando is going to be dumb fun.
Oh, it's going to be great.
I don't know any other way to put it.
Like, is this a revolutionary game?
No.
is it just insanely fun with friends?
Yes.
Ace, you played this with us,
and you were not normally into this kind of game.
So what were your thoughts on Toxic Commando?
I really enjoyed our time with Toxic Commando.
Obviously, we only played the demo
and only had the first two missions,
but I got like hell divers and Left for Dead vibes
like right away, just dumb fun, mowing down hordes with your friends,
trying your best not to abandon them all
as they lay bleeding out and you drive away from them.
My best.
stealing ambulance
my best
and then
and then next got that
you can like
within this game
you can upgrade
your equipment
and your
abilities and stuff
and the next got this
drone
that he had prior
but then
it could res him
and could it res
other people or just him
I can't remember
it could res
no it could res other people
it could res other people too
right yeah yeah
I mean there's just
it which was so cool
we're like oh it could res us
it can res us
you know
the classes
the classes made it
really cool. The classes are neat. It's, it is really sweet to have that ability. Everybody's got
something unique that adds to the run you're doing in the, you know, the match that takes place
with all the chaos. Like everybody having that little kind of difference makes a big difference.
Yeah. I can't wait for Toxic Commando. This was the other game that when I said I took the days
off of work, I was going to play Toxic Commando and replaced because they both came out within a day
of each other. At least Toxic Commando's coming out.
At least it's coming out, guys.
They're not going to delay that one.
But yeah, if you want, I'll say this too.
It is four player teams, which I love three player.
I know it's easier to develop.
I don't know what the thing with three man teams are,
but four people teams are just so much more fun to have that fourth friend.
We will be playing this.
We want you to play with us.
This is one reason that we're giving away a copy to if that's what somebody wants.
You know, but we love playing with people.
We got to play with Nexivis.
and you know come play with us because this game
I won't say it's going to be Hell Divers 2 level
because I don't think it is but what better way
to spend your money on a video game just cracking up laughing
having a good time
trolling ace for saying that we should up the difficulty level
and then instantly dying all getting destroyed
instantly getting decimated yeah
so don't sleep on toxic commando people
it is it is a good game
you guys want to do a giveaway before we get to these last couple
let's go ahead do a little giveaway
All right, listen up, chat.
We all here?
Listen up.
We hope you're paying attention.
We hope everybody's paying attention.
Here is the question.
And listen, we can see chat from all platforms.
So we can see you on YouTube, we can see you on X, and we can see you on Twitch.
All feeds into the same one.
It all feeds into one chat for us.
First one wins.
The first person to answer this question correctly gets to choose whether they want a copy of Crimson Desert,
whether they want a copy of toxic commando
and to play with us some
or they want a copy of Slay the Spire
too but again that's only on PC people
So the question
and Ace and Ryan are going to be monitoring chat
to see who answers first
The question is
For the three of us
Myself Ryan and Ace
We have a top 10 list of games of all time
What is each of ours number
one game of all time.
There you go.
That's the question.
First answer wins a copy of the game of choice.
All right.
So again,
the question is what is our individual number one game in our top 10 list for each of us?
Yeah,
this is going to be good.
So you got to give you got to type it all out of all three all three.
All three at one.
I see people saying some things,
but it's got to all be in one.
All three one.
All three one message.
Shift enter.
Shift enter if you need to type them all out or just write it out with
dashes. So we've seen a lot of guesses coming in. Yeah. Nobody has gotten it yet.
Ooh, somebody got an old one. An old one got an old one. It's been updated. Steve, that was close.
That was close guys. Oh. Oh, I'm seeing. I'm seeing some good. Yes. You guys are getting
so close. Come on guys. There's so many. Oh my God. I love how the pod just stops for this now.
Oh, 100%.
Oh, there we go.
No, people wonder.
People wonder.
Almost.
People wonder got it.
No.
T-Falls.
Oh my gosh.
You guys are all like one game off.
No, people wonder got it, right?
No.
He didn't.
Oh, geez, yeah.
It's so close, but it is not it.
Oh.
Oh, yeah.
So close.
Keep them coming.
Oh, Riley.
Riley.
Riley got it for that.
I don't see.
You guys, let's make sure.
We'll have to verify.
We'll have to verify.
I don't, I don't see anyone else with it.
I do not see anybody else first.
So, okay.
All right.
Call it, Riley the bot.
Yeah, Riley the bot.
Riley the bot won.
The answer.
You are the winner.
Guys, so many people were so close.
So many people were so close.
The answer is God of War 2018 for me.
All right.
Ender Lily's was where a lot of people got it wrong.
It is Ender Magnolia for Ace.
Mm-hmm.
All right.
And then it is Red Dead 2 for Ryan.
That is our number ones for each of us there.
All right, Riley the Bot.
I know you're in our Discord, so reach out to one of us.
Let us know what game you want.
We'll figure out how to get it to you.
But there you go.
Oh, no way.
Riley the bot.
We may give out two.
Did we have another winner?
I think people wonder did say it first.
Did he say it all in one?
The chat keeps refreshing.
I can't scroll up.
I'll let you guys.
I'll tell you what.
People wonder if you said it first, we'll give away a copy of it.
We'll honor it.
Yeah.
We're going to get away a copy.
It's fine.
Gaming for everybody.
That's it.
Two is where it ends.
Okay.
I am seeing people wonder.
Some people are saying people wonder.
I did see Ender Lillies from people.
I saw under lilies.
I didn't see under Magnolia.
The website doesn't say anything because I got rid of the number ones on the top.
Yeah.
We knew y'all would go check the website.
Ryan knew anybody go check because I hit all the pictures.
So we'll get what listen we're going to take care of both of you guys because that's how we roll
around you get a game you get a game.
Just let them know what you want let me know what game you want.
We got no issues giving away games people.
We love all of you guys for tuning in and being a part of this.
And so we have no issues giving away games to people.
I make it way.
That's a little too far.
We're not made of money.
Well, yeah, yeah, yeah, not.
Yes.
I think everyone here should get one.
Yeah, it's in the mail.
It's in the mail, bro.
Don't worry.
All right, guys.
So congrats to People Wonder and Riley the Bot.
We're making it official, even though you guys were kind to each other and said, no, no.
Good job, guys.
Kindness gets rewarded.
We're giving you each one of them.
So all right.
Let's see the both of you.
Let's, we've only got a couple games left, guys, and we do have one more trailer.
Yeah, we got to.
This is a big one.
Bring her home.
For a lot of people.
For a lot of people, this is a really big one.
Death Stranding 2.
Now people are like, wait, that game's already come out.
It's coming out on PC.
That's big.
And it looks phenomenal.
It looks phenomenal.
I tried playing death straining to get into where I could play death straining to.
And after like, I think I made it like 12 hours, guys.
And then I just kind of petered off and I went, it's a little slow pace for me.
Walking simulator too.
It is.
Exactly.
You know what I go to a walking simulator?
I will say this.
It is more than a walking simulator.
It is an incredibly polished and crazy game.
I love the world of things.
Death Stranding.
I just,
the gameplay to me
started to kind of
drag on a little bit
but if you want
pure sci-fi
crazy,
well done,
I mean,
oh my goodness,
you cannot do better
than Death Stranding.
And Weird.
Yeah,
it's fair.
You want to get weird.
You want your daily dose
of weird?
I'll say this.
I think Death Stranding
2 might be one of the
best looking games
on PC that exists.
Like if you want just
pure visuals,
I,
Like, oh, man.
Like, I kind of want to pick it up just to see some of it.
But then I'm like, no, that means I got to play it then too.
So all right.
Guys, the big, the big, big game for March.
This game's taking over the world, dude.
Like, I don't know that I've seen the internet go more crazy for a game in recent memory.
To be honest, Helldivers too might be the last time I've seen the internet just go completely overboard.
Yeah.
Um, we're talking about, we're talking about crimson desert.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna attempt to play the trailer again on this one, uh,
because we do have a trailer for people.
If you, if you have not been paying attention, maybe you thought, hey, this isn't
really my kind of game.
Um, but if you want to see what crimson desert is, here is the trailer for this.
I'm gonna hope it plays and we'll see.
Let's see.
Let's see.
Let's get ready for the Lodlin song again.
I think it's gonna play.
So here is the.
the most recent trailer for Crimson Desert, there are a gazillion videos on this game.
Here we go.
Citizens of Pyewell.
It worked.
It worked.
Today, the new chapter in this land's history shall be written by our own hand.
We fight those who wield power to prey on the week.
Beasts who think themselves men.
That is what it means to be a queen.
The time has come to do what we believe is right.
Cliff, seek out your grimane comrades.
Uncover the truth of lies within
and let your heart speak without fear.
In the end, all will come together as one.
We fight for the future of all.
down the horde of our final battle
fight for piewell
this contact gives me sure
your fight is not for revenge
nor glory
nor pride
remember who you are
and let it guide your power
for at the end of it
you will find the answers you see
so Josh you're going to
pre-order it 20 right
oh baby
deluxe
deluxe mega copy
I mean
Guys
Hey guys
I got a question for you
Who drafted this game?
Oh you didn't even
Okay
You didn't even know what this game was Ais
You didn't even know what this game was
You took advantage of me
You took advantage of my game knowledge
And then you snaked this game from me man
And I am very upset by this
The air is saltier than the ocean
Right now
I'm also well done because I'd be rubbing it in too.
Yeah, you can do.
I think Crimson Desert is going to be fantastic.
I am a little concerned that the internet, that the hype has gotten out of control.
We see this from time to time.
I think this game's going to be great.
I think it is going to offer hundreds of hours of gameplay for people.
It is an open world sandbox.
I have seen, I've been watching a lot of, I've been watching a lot of videos on this guy.
too. I think one thing that I saw that I want to point out to people is, and this is not a bad
thing, but just to kind of put perspective on this, because I even saw in chat people saying,
what are you more excited for this or Witcher? Right. And it's like, let's, let's, easy there,
people. Crimson Desert, the best way I saw it put is this is a, this is basically breath of the
wild, right? Or tears of the kingdom. It is an open world where you just go and you explore and you
find things to do and you get your hands on things. This is not intended to be Red Dead Red
Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3 or this heavy, heavy, narratively driven game where you are
just, you know, completely enveloped in these quests and this story in this world. It is more so
going to be this open world where you were just turned loose and you go and make your own fun.
Now, again, that's an internet video.
Who knows, but this was from somebody that seemed to know what they were talking about, was very hyped for this game as well.
I think Crimson Desert is the reason that so many of these games delayed themselves out of March.
Oh, absolutely.
Yeah.
I'd be scared of this game.
I'd be absolutely terrified of this game.
Yeah, no, I've even, they're hitting the ad market hard because my son, he gets up in the morning, gets all ready for school and does all this stuff.
throws on YouTube like always and watches you know poppy playtime or or whatever play-through
videos or all this kind of gaming uh videos and this morning we saw crimson desert again
and like i've been seen it in the mornings and they're like pumping the ads hard and he's like
whoa what is this game you know i'm like buddy are you ready to like slingshot off trees and do
these crazy barrel rolls in the air and fly dragons and there's it's it's a really cool unique looking
game that I am I am so unbelievably excited for.
It gives me like the same nostalgia I'd get when I would see the shadow of Mordor or shadow
of war trailers for the first time.
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
Let the combat be like that, dude.
I, you know, the big thing with this game is the internet is basically saying this game has
literally everything you could want.
There are 50 different systems.
You can, you can build these forts, like you can liberate these towns and then you build
them up and then you can set like you can recruit people.
And then you can send people out to actually do quests.
But you can watch them go and embark on the journey.
Like if you wanted to, like you can sit there and watch them leave the fort and track them as they go and do this quest for you.
The combat looks insane to me.
I just saw a trailer earlier today where you can learn moves by fighting bosses.
And if you observe the boss doing a move that you can then learn the move, like this was crazy.
That's so cool.
I saw another video where like the main guy.
is freaking suplexing people, dude.
He is grabbing them and suplexing them
and pile driving them.
And then at one point he fights a boss
that has like wrestling moves
and the guy does like a flying splash
and then you get to learn that flying splash
and then they show you like doing that in combat
later on.
You're riding wards.
You're flying dragons.
You're flying around the world.
Like all of this looks too good to be true.
And I think this is where the internet
is kind of losing its mind a little bit.
And I am not pooping on this.
game at all because I have a confession. I took time off of work. It's not getting delayed, guys. It's not
getting delayed. Don't you put your curses on it again. I moved my days off because I couldn't play
replaced and toxic commando. I moved my days off because I'm just going to dive into Crimson Desert
for four days straight. That's a true gamer right there. Yeah. Guys, we have always said we are gamers just
like you. We do these things. So I am extremely amped for Crimson Desert. Here's the
One, like my one worry, okay, is a lot of people have said this game was designed and developed to be an MMO.
Okay.
And then they turned, they kind of changed their plans and they said, no, we're going to make it a single player experience instead.
All right.
There was a game that I played recently that looked fantastic in trailers and visuals and was also designed to.
be played like an MMO, but offered a kind of single player experience.
And do you guys remember what game that might be that didn't land for me at all?
It's called Where Wins Meat.
Oh, yeah.
Where Winsmeat.
Oh, yeah.
It was incredible, guys.
I see so much overlap between Where Winsmeat and Crimson Desert.
Next love that.
Okay, okay.
But where Winsmeet is a free to play game.
Sure.
How much is Crimson Desert?
I think it's $70 to be honest.
So a $70 game should have much higher production quality.
Let me be very clear.
I am not saying that Crimson Desert is going to be where winds meet.
What I am saying is temper expectations just a little bit, people, just a little bit.
The less the expectations we have, the more we can be pleasantly surprised.
And gosh darn it, if I don't want to be really, really pleasantly surprised by Crimson Desert,
I mean, I think the world is waiting for this game.
game right now and I hope I hope it is as good as the internet is expecting every video that I have
seen everything that the developer says right there's no they said we designed this game to be a
full experience there will be no micro transactions there will be no selling you armor like we
believe that a game should be a game and you should be able to play it as much as you want
you're paying a premium price yeah because it's $70 people you're paying a premium price for this
so you should get the premium experience without being Nick
and dined after that.
So my concern is that this winds up being more where wins meets than Witcher 3,
but Witcher 3 is not an accurate comparison, I don't believe.
And again, Crimson Desert is an action, like an action game.
It's not really intended to be like a super in-depth narrative RPG.
So keep it in mind, just go into it with the right mindset.
And I think a lot of people are going to be very pleasantly surprised.
Well, you brought up Witcher 3.
Like what was the coolest thing in?
Witcher 3.
Like that was like...
The narrative, the story, the stories of the
world. But it was like the side quest,
the depth of the game, all the
things that you could do. And
you know, it's
kind of concerning and
you know, question, well, somebody
in here, where are they?
They were talking about
like it is wildly ambitious
with how
the variety and the scope
of this game and like what
what they're looking to achieve.
you know, an inch deep mile wide, you know, that's sometimes, you know, it's better to focus on one thing.
So if everything, you can do all these cool options or paths or directions, but they're just very minimal and there's not much to each one of them, it's going to feel kind of a little hollow and a little lackluster.
I hope that's not the case.
I hope the combat is crisp.
I hope there's a lot we can do around the world.
I hope there's a lot of experience
because what we've seen so far looks amazing.
I'm just, you know, within that kind of aspect,
I just hope that it's not an inch deep, you know, in a mile wide.
I hope there's a lot more depth to these paths that we can take
to really give us a reason to take them, you know,
that it's not just going to be kind of bland gameplay.
Yeah, I agree.
Ace, are you hyped for this?
Oh, absolutely.
And more so that it's not a game that you drafted.
Like is this?
Yeah, even if I didn't draft this, just seeing the trailer gets me hype for this because I enjoy these sort of single player story experiences, especially with these medieval settings.
I'm going, I'm going dark for like four days.
I'm going to dive into this.
Like big time.
Like honestly.
Josh, we got a show prep.
What are you doing?
Yeah.
So all right.
Well, listen.
One last quick game.
And then we got to get out of here because we're over an hour already.
There is a really, really cool looking game called Screamer.
This is an anime racing game that is right up my alley.
This is your arcade type racer with an anime flare, various characters.
Like there's shields and turbo boost and like not combat,
but like you can absolutely blow up other cars and stuff.
Screamer looks incredible.
It's a game that I think like if you're a fan of racing,
especially arcade racing and anime, this game you should absolutely check out.
I was kind of blown away by the trailer, to be honest,
but we're kind of run low on time,
and we didn't want to just bombard everybody with trailers during this episode either.
Or intro's over and over.
Yeah, check out Screamer.
It looks really, really good.
I love the art style of the visuals,
