Oh, fellow gamers, and welcome to the video gamers podcast.
Today, we're hitting up the new game plus showcase that has Indies galore.
Some of these are brand new reveals pushing wild ideas like survival on Mars,
time loops in the Wild West, and a rogue-like chair combat game.
And others are games we've talked about before that show up bigger and bolder every time we see them.
I am your host, Ace, and joining me, a man who truly struggled to keep his eyes over.
during the showcase, but we'll see if it happens again tonight.
Or if these games can actually keep him awake.
It's Josh.
It jokes on you, Ace.
I didn't watch this showcase.
The showcase sucked.
It was a truly terrible showcase.
And what we mean by that is the games were not bad.
The games were the only good part.
No, the games were fine.
It was the people presenting the showcase.
They just couldn't stop interjecting commentary that had nothing to do with what was going on.
I also turn this into like a four and a half hour showcase when it should have been like maybe like an hour and a half at most.
Just because they couldn't stop talking about not the games.
Yeah.
I don't know what that's about.
Guys, we never go off topic.
Never.
Never.
It's not like we would talk for 25 minutes straight before we even actually started recording this episode.
It has been 25 minutes.
Of course not.
It has indeed been 25 minutes.
We've recorded a whole other episode as our pre-show.
Yeah.
Which, uh, crazy.
and he's been patiently waiting for the day we could talk about a game
sent around grinding rails and office chairs with guns.
I guess dreams do come true.
It's Ryan.
So this is a Metroidvania, right?
Yes.
Definitely a Metroivir.
I don't even know what they are anymore, apparently.
Apparently we don't know what a Metroidvania.
I'm going to just jump ahead for a second because look, we have been telling you all that the pre-show is like honestly it's worth
every penny of like the paltry $5 that you have to pay to get the pre-show.
So we just had a huge discussion with Ace over Metroidvania's and him claiming that a game is not.
I'm looking in the show doc and deep dish dungeon, which we're going to talk about a little later.
Survival dungeon crawler, colon, Metroidvania.
What?
This is not a Metroidvania?
What is happening around here?
Ace was like, no, guys, this game I'm supporting is not a Metroidvania.
Absolutely is a Metroidvania.
Now here's a game that is actually not a Metroidvania
And it's like Metroidvania
Metrogyna.
Maybe we just throw that word around
Just because it's a buzzword that matters
But new game plus in showcase, we talked about a little bit
These or you talked about how I may have stashed away
A list of really good ones
That I didn't want to go up actually
These are all very good, very impressive games
But we're going to go ahead and get started here
with blind descent, which we all love a good first person survival game.
How do you feel about a survival game that takes place underneath the surface of Mars
that heavily reminded me of like,
somnodica mixed with journey to the center of the earth?
This was a very impressive game in my opinion.
It's funny because I've been in the mood for another survival crafting game.
Like, I'm almost reloaded, like, and shrouded a few times.
Like, this is a genre that I love, and I get the itch for this.
And especially because there's so, like, people in our community right now are playing satisfactory, which is freaking fantastic.
And then I get a little bit of fomo because, like, they're all playing together.
And I'm like, I freaking love satisfactory, man.
You know, blind descent looks real good, dude.
Like, the more I watch this trailer, the more I got invested in it because it's like it, it's like a cross between like grounded and like a little bit of subnotica in kind of the art style.
but also like what is that journey
to the Savage Planet?
Isn't that the first one?
Yeah, journey to the Savage Planet would be the...
Yeah, which I never played but always looked really good.
But like this game looks like it does everything right
with good graphics and combat
and it just checks all the boxes for me
for like what I want in a survival crafting game.
So I don't know where these games coming from,
but it looks really good.
And it's co-op, which is always a plus.
It has to be co-op, too.
It's got to be cool.
I have to have co-op in a game like this.
You can play survival crafters like on your own, but it's just having your buddy that's doing this, well, the other one's doing that, like, always is what makes the game.
And the cool thing about these survival crafters, which we always are drawn to them is because you have that comfort level, at least for me, is like, you know you have to start, oh, I got to harvest this material, that material.
And it's like, what's going to be the difference?
And there's always some sort of flare or different change to them, but there's always some sort of comfort as well that just makes you feel good when you play those styles.
you like them. So I know Josh, you, you and then me, I remember the first time I played
Satisfactory with you and Paul. I was like, oh my gosh, this is amazing. You know, so it's
having that, having that comfort level and, and a little bit of, of flare with each how they do
them. Like, it makes it for a really good game. So I'm stoked for this one. This makes me realize
we got to get Ryan to play a few more of these because these games are right up Ryan's alley, dude.
Like Powell World. Right? Like, dude, like the crafting, like the crafting part and like the base part of
Pal world. Like Ryan just freaking loved, dude. Oh, yeah. And so it's like, we got to get him in a few
more of these because I love people. I make, I like make people happy. And then I was like,
Josh, look at, I organized everything just for you. But you did. It was amazing. I was still like,
yes, organization. I labeled all the chests and everything. And stuff. And I did. But yeah,
I think this is a genre we got to get Ryan more involved in, dude, because I feel like this is right up
his alley. I'm in, baby. Yeah, we should have definitely gotten, uh, when, uh,
And Trouta comes out like fully this year, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, we should jump into that.
I almost wanted to reload it.
But like I'll wait for the full release at this point.
And then we can all just dive in because that game is real good, dude.
Like real good.
I love that game.
But I will say this.
I was going to say like for blind descent like the it's been in development since 2019.
Really?
Yeah.
So now here's the thing.
It is releasing into early access.
But we've seen this on survival crafting games.
This is actually one time where I think.
I think early access works well.
It usually works out, honestly, pretty well for these survival crafting games.
In shrouded, great example, a biotic factor, another fantastic example.
Satisfact, did I say satisfactory already?
That's another one that was in early access for like five years, dude.
So in this specific genre and type of game, I actually think early access works really well.
It's been in development since 2019.
They did say that all the core mechanics of the game will be there when it releases in early access.
So I'm down on this one, man.
Like, I really want to play this, actually.
It looks incredible, and I can't wait to get our hands on it.
We don't have a release date yet, but we do know it is coming to PC, Xbox, and PS5.
So something to be on the lookout for, for sure.
If you hear the word blind descent, uh, maybe take a look, take a look at what they said.
Yeah, yeah.
Because it looks really freaking good.
Because you wouldn't want to go in blind.
Blind.
Blind.
Oh, guys, that was the worst.
was terrible. Let's just call this out right now.
That was the worst.
All right, we're ending the episode there.
Yeah, sorry.
Next up, though, we have Last Man Sitting, which is a over-the-top rogue-like shooter
where you grind on rails in an office chair.
You have over 200 weapons and synergies.
It's a PVE-P-P-P shooter, I guess.
It is the weirdest, most over-the-top silly game I've ever seen.
But I dig it.
I genuinely dig it.
Dude, me too.
This is the best, by far, the best looking Metroidvania I've seen this year.
It's a Roque game.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm just kidding.
I'm just kidding.
It's not a Metroid Vanya, everybody.
But I will say this thing, you know, sometimes, you know, mechanics make a game.
Like, if it's, if it plays well and it's fun,
regardless of what kind of the setting in the world is like you know if you're not drawn to that part of it like it it's fun it's enjoyable as long as you have a good time that's what we're here to play video games for right and this looks like something ridiculously stupid that i'm all in on like i this looks fun to me it looks like the mechanics of it and the gunplay and all that stuff is crisp and clean hopefully it plays well and plays as as what we've seen so far um dude this is this is
is actually kind of excited for this one.
I am with you, Ryan, because again, it's so stupid.
Over the top.
Over the top stupid idea.
Yeah.
Makes gamer happy when it is implemented like this.
Like my gamer brain is like, this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen and I want it
right now.
It looks, it just looks fun, man.
Like, they describe it as a like a rogue like, uh, arena.
shooter. Right. But then it's like swarm bullet hell like in its, you know, and how they go. And then like the screenshots and the little bit of the trailer you get, you see just like dozens of enemies at a time. And here you are on your office chair just rip tearing around, which is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. But then you were just blasting hordes of stuff. And apparently you can go up against your friends and do it in like a PVP match. These dudes are doing backflips. I mean, at one point the dude does a backflip on his office chair. It's.
a glass window, it's slow motion like shatters to the ground.
And I'm just like, this, this might be one of the greatest things I've ever seen, man.
And you've basically got the Tony Hawk soundtrack player.
Yes, love it.
It's like, oh, this is just incredible.
And he's fighting, like, box robots that are, like, running around and just, like, boxes and stuff.
Yeah, he starts off with a mop.
The other dude's running around with, like, a gatling gun.
Yeah, I love everything about this game, dude.
Like, legitimately, the fact that you can rail grind on your office,
while you're killing things.
It looks like it's got a wide range of weapons.
It looks like this legit looks like a really well done game.
And it'll probably be 10 or 15 bucks, which is cool.
Oh, easily.
It'll be a very cheap game.
Yeah.
So like it's, you know, yeah, can't afford not to have it.
Can't afford not to have it.
You heard it here first.
But, you know, they tested a beta for the PVE last time.
They're doing another beta to test the PVP this time.
And I think that's a great choice to have that in there as well.
That makes it really stand out to me.
Unfortunately, it is only on PC for now, but you can wishlisted on Steam.
So, last man's hitting.
If that sounded like something you really want to try, check it out for sure.
You want to try it.
Trust us.
You do.
You want to try it.
You definitely should.
All right.
Moving on to the eternal life of Goldman.
This is a very interesting game.
It kind of remind me of like the Rayman games, like the Rayman origin style games.
Rayman and Cuphead.
were my two
like takeaways from this.
It is a 2D
hand-drawn platformer.
Not a Metroid-Mania, guys.
Not a Metroid-Mania.
I'm never going to live this down.
A 2-D-hand-drawn platform.
Oh, wait, it is a Metroidvania.
Popular user-defined tags for this product.
Dang it.
Oh, okay, good.
All right, yeah.
I could say it's a 2D hand-hand-drawn platform
of Metroidvania that is drawn
almost like a storybook, like a fairy tale.
Dude, it's beautiful.
It is beautiful.
full. It is absolutely stunning.
What did you guys think
of this? Like, just based first, first thoughts.
Amazing.
Was honestly my first thought. Like, actually,
I'll take that back because I was going through all
these trailers. And when I first
saw this, I think, like, the first, like,
10, 15 seconds, I was like, okay, it's just another
Metroidvania. I'm just going to blow this off
at this point. Right? But then I was like, no,
let me do my homework and actually watch this trailer.
Guys, this game
looks fantastic, dude.
It shows off.
of like the like some really tight platforming elements on this like really tight where like you're
in a dark room and like when you make a jump like the like things light up in like a bioluminescent
thing and then you have to jump again before it fades out kind of thing. It's beautiful.
Platforming looks incredible. And then you kind of have like the the adventure like Metroidvania
type stuff where it's like there's these massive levels. You're cruising through them. You're seeing
all these fantastical creatures.
The art style, I freaking love, dude.
Like, absolutely love.
The animation is incredible.
Like, I, dude, this,
this looks like a triple A game.
Like, whoever is developing this knows their crap, dude.
Because this game,
I, dude, I'm like blown away by the trailer on this.
Like, legitimately, dude.
Like, I cannot tell you how excited I am to get my hands on this.
Because, like, I don't know,
I just instantly feel like there's something special about this game.
Well, to me, the immediate draw that I had, too,
you talk about the animation and the, like, the style of it.
It looks, it's got those muted colors with, like, the weird depth to it.
And it reminded me almost of, like, Absalom, like, where it's just like, yeah, yeah, that cool kind of, of throwback feeling,
but it's still new age and it's still crisp and clean and clear.
I love, I love the way the gameplay looks.
I'm pretty stoked on this one, too.
I'm maybe not as high as it on Josh as Josh is,
but it looks very,
very neat.
It very much gave me the vibes of something Nintendo would have made in their prime
for like the S&ES or something like that.
It looks like it has heart.
The platforming looks fun.
And we haven't gotten to like the story part where you play as Goldman,
who is this very greedy explorer who I guess abandoned his family.
And his wife is happy to let you know about it in the trailer.
She is unpleased.
but I'm very excited for this one.
I do. I freaking love this game already and I don't know why. Like normally I wouldn't get this
excited about like this kind of game, but it's it's got like a slight like nostalgia feel.
Like maybe like you said like the Nintendo and its heyday kind of thing. But with the
cup head art style like slightly, they call it frame by frame animation. I don't know what that
means. And again like it very much has a cup head kind of undertone to it. But this looks like a
fully fledged, like,
game, dude.
Not like a, it's not like a three-hour platformer or something like that.
Like, this looks like an incredible adventure game with some nostalgia.
Like, it almost reminds me, and it certainly doesn't play this way,
but it almost reminds me of some of the really good, like, point-and-click adventures
with, like, how you go from room to room.
And then they've got this giant overworld map.
So it shows you there's going to be a ton of levels in this at the same time.
Like, man, I'm hyped for this one.
What do you think is a fair price for this?
For this?
Bro, I hope they charge $30 for this.
I was the number that I was going to say.
30 is what I'm thinking.
I'd buy it at 40 just because of how good everything in this game looks.
And again, I mentioned animation.
Like, that's a big thing, guys.
When somebody knows how to animate like these guys do when they have the art style,
but you're seeing the platforming and how the animation plays into that,
you know you have something quality on your hands here, man.
Yeah, I agree.
And I'm happy to say that it is coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
So everyone's going to get to experience this one.
We don't have a release date yet.
But we are getting a demo in February on PC.
Yeah, I'm going to be in on that.
Yeah, I'm going to check that out too, for sure.
All right.
Moving on to our last new game we saw at the showcase, which was erosion.
This is the way you're looking at it makes me worry about the graphics.
It is a time loop roguelike set in the wild west where you are on a search for your daughter, but every time you die, a decade passes in the real world.
And you get to come back and try again.
And basically you're in a fight against time to save your daughter before she ages herself.
You can die like eight times basically.
Because, you know, 80 years.
Have we talked about this in the past?
I feel like we have never talked to an erosion before.
I feel like we talked about something like this with like a time loop like that.
yeah I don't know it's been a while since we've had a time loop game dude I like all these
games am I getting soft man I like I think you are I think this I don't I don't I think this like
what is this coming out for it is this coming out on Android like 20 26 so like oh I mean the
it's fair on the graphics and I will say I hate the pixily where the guys overly bounce up
and down like tone that down devs because it's a little distracting and annoying but like there's
parts where you're driving around in a car and you're shooting things so it's got like this that
neat mechanic. It almost looks like risk
of rain, like a twin stick shooter
where that's the overall
gameplay. Then they show levels with
traps in it. Like I feel like this is one of those
games that's going to surprise you with like
five or six different types of mechanics.
Like at one point you're, you're pod racing.
Like they have like a, it's like you're in a level where you're
pod racing your car almost. Like I
love games that do this and mix it up.
I think the gameplay on this looks fun.
I think the animation or the
graphics kind of look a little stupid.
Maybe that's what's detracting Ryan
from it. But I like
that kind of underlying like timeline
thing too, man. So I don't know.
This one I'm very curious about. Like,
I'm not super hyped on this one like I am the
Eternal Life of Goldman, but I can see this game
being very fun. You're getting
soft, dude. You're getting so soft.
I don't know. I look good. I think graphics aside,
I just want to have a good time, man. I think the story is going to be
what carries this.
The story and the mechanics are what's going to be
what's going to carry this game, I think.
And the graphics are hard
to explain. It's almost like 3D
pixel art. They're like voxel graphics
almost. Yeah, very, I think
it's actually tagged with voxel on Steam.
But why would you, why would you play this
over Risk of Rain 2 or
over
um, uh, freaking
rock and stone, whatever, the vampire. Any other vampire
survivor one. This is not like a
horrid shooter though. This is like a
twin stick shooter. Yeah.
I guess. I don't know.
So Ryan has no interest. I thought you would
be on board with this. I, I, I don't know.
I just, being Western and, you know. Is it
Multiplayer? That's the main question.
I don't know. I think it's a story game.
But there's like it's like it's like it's like in the West, but he's standing in here with cubicles.
Like in a like an office building.
It's time. You're going through time.
Yeah, time is passing.
But I know, but it's just, I don't know. It just looks dumb.
You get executed on the steps of a shrine and your daughter gets pulled out of your hands.
Ryan hates time.
What is time?
What do you mean?
What is time?
Now we figured it out where it's like, oh, time.
I hate this game.
It's got a sandworm in it.
It does.
It does have a massive sandworm in it.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think it's a very cool game.
I think it's one I'm going to be watching personally, even if you aren't Ryan, but it's whatever.
It is currently only listed on PC, but it is going to have a play test in spring this year.
We'll see how that goes.
It does actually say single player.
I'll grab my potato.
No co-op.
No co-op.
Unfortunately.
All right.
Then we're going to get to games we've talked about before.
right after this break.
All right, we are back.
These are some familiar faces to this podcast,
even if you do not remember them,
I remember them just for you.
Far Far West.
Who remembers Far Far West?
I remember.
Who remembers how much they dunked on Far Far Far West?
I remember.
I remember.
That was me.
I remember.
This is the chaotic one to four player
co-op PV shooter,
extraction game where you play
as cowboys in the West,
robot cowboys, to be precise,
and you can mix your magic and your primary
to pull off these crazy chain reactions.
They showed off in the trailer
that one of the missions is to send a
basically a nuke into the monster's nest
to lure it out by filling a giant
wooden rocket with old-timey T&T.
What did you guys think of this game overall?
Now that you've seen more of it.
Ryan?
He still hates it.
I think I'd rather
play this thin erosion.
I like the West and the Cowboys, for sure.
I don't know.
This still probably isn't that big up on the list for me.
This doesn't give you like any of those deep rock and hell diver's vibes.
I mean, a little bit.
But then I, if I want to play that, then I'll play those games, you know.
This just doesn't seem on that level to me.
I don't know.
You don't like bounty hunting?
I love, I love bounty hunting, which which could kind of knock it up a tear for me.
but I don't know.
To me, it just, it doesn't, there's nothing about it that screams, like, play me.
What are you going to do to, you know, play me?
So, like, that's fair.
There's a lot of these multiplayer extraction games right now.
Yeah, it doesn't have that big kind of flare that, like, like, screams, like, check me out, like, take a peek, you know, so.
I'm not for me.
I'm kind of changing my tune on this one.
Oh, here we go.
You are getting soft.
No, because it reminds me of abysses in a way.
The pacing of the combat does remind.
me of abysis, like, when you see them, like, running around and working as a team and they're
fighting in these chaotic fights and stuff. And I don't know, man, this trailer kind of did it
for me where, because, like, they're showing boss fights. They have, like, boss fight mechanics
where it's like you got to jump over the shockwaves. Wide variety of weapons. It's, you know,
you have to work as a team. I don't really know where this extraction element comes from if they're
still going on that one. It's at the end. It's like hell divers. You have to defend the extract
while the train gets to you. The three of us running around trying to do this chaotic. It would be a fun.
I'm not saying it wouldn't be fun.
Not at all.
Yeah, it would be, it would be for sure a good time.
I just, you know, there's, I mean, I'd rather play Hell Divers.
You know, if we're going to do that, I'd rather play that, you know.
You want to?
Is that, yeah.
Dude, let's do it.
Yeah, you want it?
No, no, no, no.
This is not the Hell Divers episode.
Dang it.
The Indio.
We don't have any kind of release yet for this game.
It is currently PC only, but 2026 is the aimed for release, I believe.
So we will hopefully see far.
far west land and i'm sure it'll take over twitch for like a few months if i had to guess
it feels like one of those kind of games like where people just pick it up to play with their
friends stream it for a few months and then it falls until its next uh update next up though we have
deep dish dungeon which i'm very excited for deep dust dungeon this gives me all those like
abiotic factor vibes but with you know dungeon crawling and apparently metrovania aspects
I don't know how you make a dungeon crawl.
That word has no meaning anymore, man.
It doesn't.
It doesn't.
It doesn't.
We're just throwing on everything.
We'll just throw it on everything.
The whole point, though, is, you know, you work with your, either by yourself or with up to three other people to solve puzzles in this dungeon and survive down there by catching and cooking whatever's in there to eat.
What did you guys think of this game now that we've seen more of it?
Right.
Josh keeps making me go first on these, and I'm happy to do so.
I will gladly oblige.
To me, this looks like, believe it or not, it looks like worse graphics, Minecraft.
That's fair.
I don't know that graphics can get much worse than this.
This looks, I don't know.
It's like abiotic factor.
No, bro.
Abiotic factor is like the future compared to this game, man.
There's a, it's hard because there's like a, there's like a line between like retro and
new age stuff and then, you know, throwbacks and kind of up-to-date graphics.
graphics and in streamline stuff.
So finding that middle ground, if you're going to do kind of older style graphics,
you have to make it stand out.
And it has to look appealing.
And this just doesn't look appealing to me.
I don't know.
To me, it just looks like a 1998, like, old, like, game that I would have got on a floppy
disc and or something like, I don't know.
Nobody's ever heard of before.
Yeah, that no idea.
Dude, I remember getting games at like a dollar store.
And I'm like, as a dollar.
try it out, you know, and that's, that's what it reminds me of. It's just these goofy old school
games that you never heard of, um, that will probably end up being the fate for this one,
unfortunately. So I'm going to, I'm going to say this. This might be out of all of these games.
This might be the game that I think looks the worst that I might actually wind up liking the most.
Like, I don't know that I'm ever going to play it. I'm not saying I'm going to play it, but what I'm saying
is this is the kind of game
that you get into and you kind of go
like a biotic factor.
I'll just mention that again, right?
Where it's like, because it's a survival exploration
game and they mention like puzzly
handcrafted dungeons and stuff and it's like,
this is the kind of game where every time you leave your camp
you find something fun,
you find something where you go to your buddy like,
hey dude, come check this out, man.
Come help me figure out what this is.
You know, it's an RPG so you're getting
gear and upgrades.
Again, it's a survival exploration.
So, you know, it's going to
come with all the progression and upgrades and stuff like that.
And it's like, I don't really have much interest in this game.
But at the same time, like, I feel like if I gave this game a try, I would probably
walk away going like, bro, this game's really good.
I was impressed to read that the dungeons are handmade and not generated as well.
We can tell.
We can tell.
We can tell their handmade.
But that means that means they're probably a lot of fun to like actually explore.
a lot of fun to actually explore and find secrets and solve puzzles and things like that.
You've gotten so soft, dude.
No,
all these games are you on?
Are you on the indie payroll right now?
Who are you?
You just screamed my,
you used to scream my eyes from Mina the Hollower.
And now you're like,
you know,
I said this game looks,
this game does not look good.
It doesn't look good,
but you know,
I feel like I'd like it a lot.
Okay,
you know what?
You want me to say something mean,
Ryan?
Here you go.
The name of your game sucks.
Deep dish dungeon is a stupid name for a game.
Triple D.
Like,
why do you want to focus on cooking in a dungeon exploration game?
Like,
number one,
I hate cooking.
I don't ever cook.
That's why we had Paul when we played Russ,
so that Paul would keep us all fed.
So your name sucks.
You should change it.
And cooking should not be the focus.
There you go.
Is that better, Ryan?
I'm glad we got a negative out of the way,
so Josh could return to his own things.
Also,
I think this game might wind up being.
really fun. I think it'll be great.
It is PC only currently with no
current release date, but go ahead and wishlist it
if that sounded interesting to you.
I'm just saying, if one day you're like, hey, Josh,
you want to play deep disjunction with me?
Oh, boy, it's going to become Absalom, huh?
I'd probably say yes. Just saying.
All right.
Don't ask me.
I'll go play Elder Scrolls
One. Yeah, go for it, bud.
Next up is Dusk Fade, which
we mentioned this one so long ago
we had almost nothing to go off of
this game looks incredible
by the way this gives me all the vibes
of kingdom hearts and jack and daxter
and ratchet and clank if you've played any of those
3D action platformers like that
I absolutely love this I'm super excited
to get my hands on it
that's another really really
well done game
like you can tell again
these devs know what they're doing the production value
is really good the
I don't know that I love the art style
on this. It's kind of that anime
kiddie style.
It's a whimsical.
I'm not saying it's not a beautiful
game, but I, what did you say?
Whimsical.
Maybe that's it, yeah.
That's a good word for it.
It is a good word for it. Dang it. I wish I could have thought of a better
synonym.
Way to go.
But yeah, I mean, again, this looks like a full-fledged
like Legend of Zelda-E type.
Like you said, Ratchit and Clank.
I mean, this looks like a great game.
man. I wish I was more hyped. This is weird. I'm not super hyped on this. And I feel like I should be.
I grew up with a lot of these kind of games. So I get a lot of nostalgia from seeing these kind of
games coming back into the limelight since all the AAA companies are not making this kind of game
anymore right now. Who knows when I'll hear about Kingdom Hearts 4.
Tell you what I'm going to do. There's a demo on this. There's a demo. I'm downloading the
demo right after this and I'll try it and see because this everything like this game passes the
eye test for me where it's like, dude, this is going to be a good.
game. I just don't know why I'm not more excited for it.
Yeah, maybe you've just aged out of the world. Because your kids are old man.
You picked old man. Yeah, like, because for me, like I picture. All right, listen, I, I, I, I, I, I am super positive on all these other games. The one, like, the one game where I should be really excited for them.
The one that we thought, the one I thought. You guys are trolling me the whole time telling me that I'm soft. And the one game where I'm like, this game looks good, but I just don't.
don't know if I'm excited.
And you guys like,
George.
No,
no,
no,
you didn't,
I didn't even,
I didn't even,
I didn't even,
I didn't even,
I didn't even,
I haven't even given his opinion
at all.
Yeah.
All right.
No,
I think,
no,
Josh,
I think it's really fair
what you said.
I think that,
um,
I think it looks neat.
It's a cool looking game.
I personally,
I have a nine year old son.
I could picture playing this with him.
But that's probably the only time I'd
play this type of game.
Like,
unless I had some sort of connection to do
like a series.
if it was like an old fable or old Ratchett and Clink or old style game that I grew up playing
that I could play now another version of it or another iteration, then I would.
But to me, it looks neat.
I'm sure it's an amazing game and I'm sure I would have a lot of fun playing.
I probably will with my son.
But other than that, I don't see too many people getting it that don't fit in that category, you know.
I figured out what it is, guys.
Do you guys remember the game Immortals Phoenix Rising?
Oh, yeah.
Do you remember that?
It was like a perfect Zelda clone
where they were like, bro,
it has everything the Zelda has.
We've cloned it.
It was fun.
That's what this reminds me of
where it's like everything about that game
looked good.
It was fairly positively received,
but it's almost like the,
I have Zelda at home.
You know what I mean?
Like that's the vibe I get is it's like why,
like it's hard for me to get excited
about a game that looks like a clone of another game,
even if it's very well done
because it's kind of like,
well, I got that at home
and I can just play that one.
Path of Exalt.
Oh, bro, Path of Exile
So much better
So much better
Diablo 2
The 20-something-year-old game
Is better than all of them
So
All right, buddy
We don't have time to get into Diablo 2 right now
Bring it on, come on
Yeah
But DustCade is coming to PC
PS5 and Xbox
So look forward to that
It is a very, very pretty
game.
It is very high quality
Yes
It is coming this year
So be sure to be on the lookout
If you're into these kind of game
Final game.
We talked about it.
We loved it.
We are so excited for this one.
It is Dino Blade.
Oh, baby.
The Soulslike action RPG where you play as a Spinosaurus with a Magic Sword.
I played the demo for this one.
It's a little clunky because it's an old, old build.
But, man, is it fun?
So are they updating that or what's the deal?
Like you're saying it's an old build?
I think, uh,
Well, I told you last time.
Demos are basically complete rebuilds of the current game.
So every time they want to make a new demo, they would have to rebuild it all again.
Yep, yep, yep.
That makes sense.
I don't know if it'll get another update to the demo or not, but what I played was fun.
Give me this game, put it in my veins.
This goes back to the last man sitting kind of thing.
It's just a stupid.
What a dumb idea that I 100% support.
Heavy metal and dinosaurs.
Heavy metal and dinosaurs fighting off, like facing off.
If you haven't watched this trailer, watch this trailer.
Watching a stegosaurus do a like flying, just spinning pile driver bomb onto another dinosaur.
Never gets old, man.
It never gets old.
Like these dynos got moves.
They're like ninjas.
They're flipping around.
They're spinning around.
The ground shakes.
Like they feel like dinosaurs.
and they all have these fantastic weapons.
And I'm just like,
whoever came up with is a genius.
You're a freaking genius, man.
I don't know how nobody else in the world
in the history of humanity did not come up with this idea.
But you win.
This is how we save dinosaur games for 2020.
There you go.
Let's be honest,
Code Violet didn't do it.
Those guys are probably looking at Dino Blaine being like,
what a dumb game, what a stupid game.
And then that's like, yeah,
They're going to knock you guys out of the water.
They're going to outsell you like crazy.
Like who doesn't like dinosaurs and then who doesn't like dinosaurs with swords?
Like in crazy effects?
Like come on, man.
It's, oh man, you're hitting all my special interests.
Exactly.
Yeah, I know.
In a world.
That monosos have swords.
Just where it's like, and at one point, this is what I love at one point because
this is a new trailer, you get like where there's like little raptors running around.
And like the boss's name is like speed.
And these little suckers are all over the.
place and you're like, oh, this is going to be.
And then your dude just freaking wrecks them with some lightning bolt spell or ability.
And then the lightning just goes crashing out.
And I'm just like, ah, this Spinosaurus just wrecked those guys with lightning.
Give me more.
It's going to be metal as heck, man.
And I'm so pumped.
It's almost, it's almost, it looks like, like, it just like, it, the combat actually
genuinely looks good.
It's fun.
You're just, it like, it looks like a good, like, Eldon Ring combat or a boss fight or something.
or something, but you're a dinosaur with a sword in your mouth.
Like that, that, oh man, it's next level.
I'm so stuck.
This is so dumb, but I love it.
Yeah, it's so dumb.
I love it so much.
I know, I do too.
It almost had like Devil May Cry-esque like combo moves to it, which was crazy.
And then all the like flashy lights and lasers and all this stuff.
Yeah, there's, yeah, it's, it's the real.
If you need one more example of this, okay?
If you need one more example, at one point in the trailer, you're fighting a giant
the T-Rex, right?
His sword is another dinosaur
because he wrecks it right in front
of you and then picks it up by the tail
and that's what he's bludgeoning
you with. Like, it just keeps
better and better, man.
Oh, it's going to be so peak,
as the kids say.
But that is going to be
coming to PC. For now,
just PC. It does have the demo, like I mentioned,
and it is slated for this year.
Yeah. So look
forward to Dinobblade.
every game we mentioned here
if I wouldn't play it myself
I wouldn't put them in front of you
honestly yeah that's fair
these are all fantastic
and that will end our little journey
through the new game plus showcase
may we never revisit it
aside from the games
we suffered so that you guys can thrive
but be sure to wish list
these games on Steam if any of them
caught your eye any of them caught interest
it helps the devs immensely
they'll tell you themselves it helps
so much
