Starting point is 00:00:10 Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the video gamers podcast. Gaming can be filled with a wide range of emotions, joy at beating a boss, anger at a difficult level, or even sadness. Get ready for all the feels because on today's episode, we're breaking down the gaming moments that gave us joy, sadness, anger, and disgust. But before we get to the fun, some introductions are in order. I am your host, Josh, and joining me, rage. Rage is the emotion he gives me, but it's always with a heavy dose of love. It's Ryan.
Starting point is 00:00:57 You sound like my mom. It's unconditional love, right? Right, right, mom? I love you, mom. Oh, man. And joining us, he's got mirth. whimsy and a little bit of psychosis. It's ace.
Starting point is 00:01:14 I don't think anyone could have described me better in three words. You ever have somebody just absolutely nail a description for you. Somebody on the internet the other day that knows me through my job at the fantasy footballers basically said you are the definition of a caffeinated golden retriever. And I was like, that might be the most accurate description I have ever heard of myself. That might just be you, honestly. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:43 So, well, welcome in everybody. We've got a fun episode, man. Dude, this is, this is one, like, I actually had a lot of fun prepping for. We are going to be covering emotional moments in games that stand out to us. And we, we kind of hinted at this, but we picked four emotions because, hey, if this, if people like this, we'll do some other ones in the future. More complex. But those emotions are anger. And I, we can all remember times a game made us.
Starting point is 00:02:10 angry, joy, which there's a lot of that. Sadness. Man, I got one that I rewatched my pick for that. And we're actually going to be inserting some video in this episode. So we each kind of picked like the clip from the game that we're going to be talking about. And I'm actually going to put that in this episode. So make sure you watch as well so you can understand why we're talking about these if you're not familiar with them. And then the last one that was hard for me at first until I remembered. Oh, oh,
Starting point is 00:02:38 yeah, is disgust. And that one, I got the best answer on that one. I'm curious if you guys thought of the game that I'm
Starting point is 00:02:48 thinking of for that one. So we'll see. But before we get into these emotional moments, Ryan, let's kick off with happy because we got, we got not only,
Starting point is 00:03:01 I would say we have a new review, but we have a lot of new reviews. The people have been stepping up lately. We're getting there. We got so many. We are 10 reviews away from 1,000 people. 10. So if you have not left us a review, please on Apple Podcasts, just take a minute to write a review for us.
Starting point is 00:03:19 We really want to get to that thousand mark. And then if you do, there's a good chance we're going to read one on the show, like just this short little review that Ryan's got for us. Yes, this beautiful short five-star review from Rad-Frans, Cisco. Oh, that's a rough start. Rad, rad, franz, I just want to make sure I get the name right, you know, it's what's the most important. But it is titled,
Starting point is 00:03:42 This Gaming Podcasts changed my life. And it reads as follows, I have been listening to this podcast almost every day for two years now. These guys are some of the funniest, most down-to-earth guys you could ever listen to and have some of the best takes that every true gamer wants to hear. They stand out from other suits gaming podcasts and truly state what is on their minds and true opinions of games or situations.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Their game reviews are superb when they're even introduced, there it is, where they even introduced me to my now favorite series of all time, the persona series. Thank you, Ace, and Paul, I would say for that one. Yeah, that's absolutely me and Paul. Through their Persona 5 royal deep dive, I would have never found or played games without this podcast,
Starting point is 00:04:35 and I am forever thankful for that. If you are on the edge about trying this podcast, trust me that it is 110% worth it. Ranging from AAA Blockbusters to small indie games, getting their feet off the ground, they will cover it all and give listeners a completely unbiased and realistic review and breakdown. No matter what gamer you are and what age you are, you will find entertainment in this podcast. I recommend joining the Discord server as well as I believe it is the best gaming
Starting point is 00:05:07 Discord to join to have a blast playing at... Dang it. This is too much, guys. No, you got it, but you got it. You're pretty good, right? Hold on a lot. You're doing way better than I thought you were doing. I also recommend joining the Discord server as I believe it is the best gaming discord to join
Starting point is 00:05:24 to have a blast playing absolutely anything. To the host, thank you so much for the effort you. put in and you have brought hours upon hours of entertainment for me and for many others. I look forward to the future of the podcast and your content. I also have a shout out to Ace. Thank you for lending me your Lamborghini for my weekend getaway and for saying that my family of four are saving my family of four from burning building. You're welcome. Just don't scratch it.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Yeah, there you go. Bring it back with the full tank of gas. Not a lie spoken in that with you. is just getting these like ace you're the man you are the man ace so i see the man people so yeah all right i got through it he did it take a break take a breather ryan good job buddy good job that was probably one of the longer ones we've ever had might be the longest reviews we ever got that is the longest review and we did that to troll you i oh for sure i i'm well aware of the the intention that was actually behind that was actually red francisco but it was a great review
Starting point is 00:06:24 that was a wonderful review it was very good it was a wonderful review i got to say man dude seeing reviews roll in and then seeing like what people say just makes my day like legitimately like we we we say this all the time but like we see every single review that comes in and it really means the world to us and the fact that people take the time out of their day and their lives to write a review and then to share information like this on how this goofy podcast helps make their lives a little bit better is just crazy to us man it really is so I love it it never gets old I don't care if we have 20,000 reviews day. Like, it's, it's just awesome. So thank you, Red Francisco, and everybody else that has left us a review. And if you haven't, help us get to a thousand. Do it. I'm just going to come out and say it.
Starting point is 00:07:11 I'm going to come out and say it. When we hit a thousand, we're going to do a game giveaway or two in our discreet. To celebrate, we're going to give away. And it ain't going to be no cheap little friend slop game. We're giving away something nice. Why would they want to have fun, you know? I know, exactly. Why do they don't want the cheap game? They want the nice game. So there you go. You know, all right. Well, let's let's get into this, boys. Let's talk about some emotions, man. I mean, this is one of the things we all love about gaming, right? Like, if you have that game that resonates with you, you have those moments that resonate with you, you remember these things, you know?
Starting point is 00:07:48 And when I talk about anger, which we'll just, we'll bring up anger first, right? Because that's, you know, games can just make you angry, dude. who hasn't accused the computer or your console of cheating, you know, or thrown a controller or rage quit a game maybe. As you watch your Reaper walk up to the enemy spawn and just stand there. Yeah. And like, so I mean, anger comes with, you know, the fact that we care about these games. And so we're going to start there.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Ace. Oh, boy. As the least angry one of us. Because I feel like Ryan and I can definitely go on a rampage occasionally. I'm Buddha, right? Ryan's like, I would never. I admit it. I can get pretty angry. But I feel like Ace is like the calmest out of us. Yeah, I don't get angry. I just get really sarcastic with people and it makes them angry usually. You mean passive aggressive? I get a little passive aggressive and that gets under people's skin a lot more than just getting angry. No, if I, if I'm playing support and I see people dying and then I throw down my support old, but Ace has died every single time, 100, percent of the time I hear you were a little late with that bud every little late with that and I'm like I did I didn't do it
Starting point is 00:09:00 to save you necessarily I didn't save the next guy in line keeping you alive until that moment and you did it after I died that's when it gets my go how do I know you're keeping me alive if you're behind me because you're not dead yet and poor Greg had to experience it like less than like 10
Starting point is 00:09:16 matches and Overwatch and ACE is just roasting him he's like I don't know why you drop that there but okay you know and Greg's like he was so mad I could tell and I was like Dang ace man He's up on him bro
Starting point is 00:09:29 What are you doing? He's just starting Anger can be experienced for me In a non-passive aggressive form When it comes to games And specifically this moment Is going to come from Ghost of Tsushima Relatively it's a newer game, newer franchise
Starting point is 00:09:45 So I'm giving you a spoiler warning Right here right now This is your chance Skip ahead if you're gonna play Ghostsushima It's a great game All right that's it Taka's death
Starting point is 00:09:57 and ghost of Tsushima made me unimaginably angry because it was so preventable this whole game you have spent this entire game trying to protect the people of Tsushima and you lose him right in front of you
Starting point is 00:10:15 not us oh your legend does not even care about you. You kid him. You can go? Tell you not.
Starting point is 00:11:11 Your friend died for you. Now I must find another. And you must choose again. You can do absolutely nothing to stop this. You are tied up to a post and you're being, you know, interrogated by Coton Khan. as you both have been captured, he gives Taka the chance to run away. Idiot doesn't run away.
Starting point is 00:12:03 The darn blacksmith turns around and swings the sword at him and gets his head cut off right in front of it. It's not a clean cut. It is not a clean kill. He slices his throat and literally yanks his head off of his body. And he's like,
Starting point is 00:12:17 and I will bring you another friend and you will choose again. And then Jin lets out the most guttural angry scream. dude it just made me so mad because it was like I'm a beast I am killing all these fools and now I can do nothing I can do nothing but watch as he butchers my friend that's yeah that's one of the things is where like because that was on my list like I made kind of like a top three top four of each like category and then I picked the one that I felt the most kind of connection to that was on my list for sure um there's something about that when you like have no power to stop it and you're like nothing you can do there's not I could. No difference you could have made. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:12:59 And you know you could, but you couldn't. And you just have to watch it happen. And it's just part of the game or part of the story. Same with like if you were to watch a movie and something like that happened. It's just there's nothing you can do. And no, I feel the anger in that one too, man. That was on my list. You think it would make you sad or grief filled.
Starting point is 00:13:16 But no, it just makes you mad. Yeah. Well, some of these, like I said, because there's some people that would be like, wouldn't that be sad? But if you, and your people will have seen the scene because like this is that we're going to insert in here. Yeah, you'll see this one first. Yeah, so you'll see it, and then you'll understand the anger that comes with that.
Starting point is 00:13:33 And part of this is this happens later in the game. Yeah. When they start turning your own techniques against you at this point, and it's, yeah, it's getting rough. You're connected to the characters at this point. You've kind of gone through hell with them, basically, you know, and then to see this kind of unfold, like it does just make you. I mean, this is your blacksmith, and one of your closest companions.
Starting point is 00:13:55 He made the grapple hook for you that you've been using the entire game. It just sucks to see him die like that and go out like that. Yeah. All right. Well, there you go. That's a moment of anger for Ace, who is a calm guy. Apparently, Ace doesn't like seeing his friends getting beheaded. I get it, Ace.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Yeah, not in that visceral of a way. No. No, not really. I'm going to jump in with a character that makes me angry. Oh, man. This character infuriates me. Navi. It's not Navi.
Starting point is 00:14:27 It's not Navi. Diana for Pragana. No, no, no, that one either. Hey. I am going with Micah Bell in general. Oh, that's a good one. Yeah. There is not a character in gaming that I want to just kick in the nads or punch in the face more than Michael Bell.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Like, dude, I freaking hate this guy, dude. Like, with a passion, with a passion. Spoiler. This is minor. warning. Some of the stuff you don't even see through a playthrough, but there are ways to see this. But just to give you an idea of some of the things that Micah does, that absolutely just triggered me in Red Dead Redemption, too. Dude, and strawberry. Strawberry is one of them. Yep. That's not even the one that's on my, I mean, that one for sure,
Starting point is 00:15:16 because he just goes ballistic and almost ruins everything. Do you guys remember the camp dog, cane? Do you remember the dog? Did you guys ever find the camp dog that showed up for you? No. So this is not something that happens all the time, but there is like some events where this dog shows up to camp. And the little kid at camp loves this dog more than anything, right? It's, it's been a while. Is that Marston's son? Yeah. Marston's son is Jack.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Yeah, okay. That's what I thought. This kid just falls in love with this dog like any kid would. And Micah is just hates this dog, dude. He is demeaning to this dog. He tries to kick the dog. You know, at one point, the dog goes missing. and Jack is just like,
Starting point is 00:15:57 Kane, Kane, where is it? And then you know, because Micah's like, he won't be coming back no more. And then you're like, bro, you freaking better not have, dude. You better not have. And Arthur even goes over and confronts him at that point. And it's like, dude, I'm getting chill bumps just because I'm getting freaking, I'm getting angry again, man.
Starting point is 00:16:16 You know, he rats you out later in the game, like to the Pinkertons. Like, you know, that's Micah. Yeah. That's the whole thing. He's like, he got everybody. He killed. He's, he's always calling Arthur Blacklung and stuff when you're freaking super down about when you know what's,
Starting point is 00:16:32 what's coming for Arthur. And Mike is just like, hey, Black Lung. And I, dude, whatever, Cowpoke. Yeah, I, yeah,
Starting point is 00:16:39 there is not a character in gaming. Navi annoys me, but I absolutely despise and makes me more angry than Michael Bell. I don't think I've hated a character as much as I hated Michael Bell, except for maybe Heimdahl and God of War Ragnarock. I'll tell you what, dude. I will roommate with Heimdahl any day before I hang out with Micah Bell, like ever, like ever, dude. No, that's valid, man.
Starting point is 00:17:03 Heimdahl's just arrogant. Mike is a jerk, dude. He is a freaking jerk, man, and it rubs me so wrong. He is a dark-hearted individual. And then the way everything played out and how it worked out with, you know, with the gang and everything. No, that's a good one. That would be one of the biggest, like, most hated characters of all time if we made a list. He does a great job.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Kudos to the voice actor because you made me literally despise that character. All right, Ryan, what's your anger one? Well, it actually is in the same world and universe as yours. I guess you would say further in the timeline. It is, again, spoilers to everybody. This game came out like, what, 15 years ago, 14 years ago. Oh, really? Red Dead Redemption 1.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Oh, okay. John Marston's death. Oh. So I was so mad because at the end there, you know, with everything that happened in Red Dead Red Dead Redemption 2 and, you know, the prequel to 1, which is crazy how they did that. But you're put up, hey, you know, you were in this gang. You did a lot of bad stuff. But if you take out these guys, your home free buddy. you got your ranch.
Starting point is 00:18:24 We're going to set you up, you know, and, you know, we'll wash our hands of it and you're good to go. And then you do that. And they betray you and turn on you. And you walk out of the barn and there's like 40 guys out there. And there's nothing you can do. And he just gets obliterated. And I was never so mad as like, I knew it was going to happen,
Starting point is 00:18:47 but I was just so angry that it did happen. I'm like, I did everything you said. I tried to, you know, I tried to start a better life and I have a family and, and it just, it didn't matter and it didn't matter. And they just, they wanted to, you know, notch that off their list that they got this crew of the Vanderlin gang and, and, uh, they got everybody and, and he was the last one. So yeah, that one, that one made me so mad when that happened. Rule number one, never trust the government. Uh, 100%. 100%. Absolutely. Rule number one. For sure, especially in the one. wild west. Yeah, especially in the wild west. I never played Red Dead one, but I've seen this scene about a thousand times, dude. And I absolutely understand, especially after playing Red Dead 2 and understanding, like, everything that led up to that really does make a difference. But yeah, I get that one for sure.
Starting point is 00:19:39 All right, listen, we're going to take a quick break. And then we're going to come back. We're going to talk about some joy that we got from a game. So we'll be right back after this break. All right. We got anger out of the way. Nobody wants to be angry at their games. We've all been there.
Starting point is 00:19:56 But, you know, that one's done. Let's talk about something a little bit better, guys. When is a moment of joy for you in a game? And Ace, you can't say every Metroidvania that you've ever launched. What about when you win the point when you're both 99 and 99? Ooh, that is, that is a good moment, dude. That is, that is pretty good. Or when you save the entire round with your old or when you have the game winning old or you hold,
Starting point is 00:20:21 So you hold just enough time for your team to get back? Like, those are pretty good moments. That's so fun. That's so cool to do. Those are good moments, though. But that's not what we're talking about. This series was actually already mentioned in our little review there. But persona five, one of the biggest joyful moments, and this isn't a spoiler, you have to do this to play the game, is when you clear the first palace in Persona Five, and you prove to everyone that you are not just some dumb kids, you actually have some power to make a change in this world.
Starting point is 00:20:50 and you stop your teacher who is not a very nice man. He's a peto. Yeah, he is a pedo, man. Pito. Hey, Pito. But it's your group's first major victories, the Phantom Thieves. You've spent hours watching this guy, abused people in this school, be a total, you know, jerk. And he finally gets his come up and it's in, like, the best way possible.
Starting point is 00:21:11 And you just feel so good. The characters even celebrate. They go out and have, like, ramen together. It's like a party. It's so cool. I played Persona 5. like to this point. I stopped shortly after that.
Starting point is 00:21:23 So I'm actually, I know this and you're right, dude, there is just something that makes you smile and you're like, we did it and that guy got everything he deserved. He got everything he deserved. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:31 We did it right. Like we proved to ourselves we could do it. Pulled it off and yeah, that is, that's a good moment, dude. I remember being very excited for that one where it's like, yeah, we did it.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Yes. We got it. Mine is, anybody that has done this, this is an accomplishment in gaming and I, you guys know me, man. I will bang my head against the wall a thousand times if it's like I decide I need to beat a boss or I need to beat this thing or obtain this item or something like that.
Starting point is 00:22:01 Beating Melania in. Oh, yeah. Dude. I, this is such a moment of joy for a lot of gamers. I know for me specifically, I took a screenshot right away saying like, oh, man, you know, it's like enemy felled. I came to the discord. I was like, oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Yeah, like, legitimate. And here's the thing. I had tried to beat her, like my first run through of Eldon Ring. And I could not. I could not do it. Could not. And then I put Eldon Ring down for probably four or five months. And then I went back to it and said, I need to finish this game, which I know is super rare for me.
Starting point is 00:22:38 And then I did. And then part of that was I'm going to beat Melania. And then I did. And I just remember literally jumping out of my chair, fist pumping, dancing, running through the house and being like, I did it. I did it. My wife and kids are like, did what? And I'm like, I beat her. And they're like, what are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:22:55 And I'm like, I beat Melania. And they're like, okay. And the neighbors call the cops. What's a millennia? Some man's yelling that he beats some woman. He beat some woman. Dude, I don't know that there's another boss in gaming that has made me feel like that joyful to be like, I finally did it.
Starting point is 00:23:14 So that one for me and I know a lot of other gamers is. Bail came close. I'll say bail came close too. Fail was failed. That was a fun fight. I don't know if you remember when I beat Melania. I'd been trying for like the whole year, uh, just with my one build. But I posted that quick video.
Starting point is 00:23:28 And at the end of it, you just hear me scream because I'm shocked. I actually, I think I remember that. I think I remember that. It is a low poly video because it's recorded on a PS5 and it's just like the playback feature. And I didn't even know the microphone was on. What I just, I just, I just, I did her. And then I just go, I do remember this. I remember the scream.
Starting point is 00:23:47 I remember the microphone stuff. I remember the screen. is what? Oh, dude. That's awesome. Yeah, for sure. What about you, Ryan? What'd you got, bud?
Starting point is 00:23:56 Oh, man. So, uh, mine is one that is just like, um, no spoilers here for sure. This is, this is very old. And unfortunately,
Starting point is 00:24:08 we haven't, I haven't felt this feeling in quite a long time. But I'm going to go with something that came out, um, December or no, November 11th, 2011 1111 11 11 sky room my my my my my girlfriend at the time had uh picked it up for me uh i was at work and she just happened to have it she's like what i got you and i was like oh my gosh because i she knew
Starting point is 00:24:36 i was big elder scrolls fan and she got it for me and the first boot up of that game when when the music really starts and you get through the intro screen and it's like like there's there was nothing like it to me it's kind of almost like when you like you boot up like an old halo or or any of those like when you were a kid that's what it felt like but i was an adult i was a 20 year old son 20 something year old man and and feeling that just joy of like what am i even going to see i have no idea but i'm so excited and i'm going to sit here for like four or five hours i haven't felt that feeling in such a long time and uh And man, that was one of the biggest joys in gaming for me ever was just booting up Skyrim that first time.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Some games, man, it's like you turn them on and your monitor basically opens like a window and the air rushes through. Yeah. It's like the biggest dopamine hit, dude. It all aligns with you as a person. And you're just like, oh my gosh. Yeah. Dude, the anticipation of launching a game for the first time, I just saw another. trailer for a galactic racer today.
Starting point is 00:25:52 Dude. And I can't tell you like the like I like I'm already excited. But the first time like it's like I'm clicking in and I see the splash screen and I'm loading in like it's just that feeling is amazing, dude. That's how I'm starting to feel about Phantom Blade zero after that 11 minute. Yeah. Oh, dude. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:10 There's, there's some good games coming. There is. All right. Well, we've gone anger. We've gone joy. We've got to talk about sadness. because listen, if you haven't had a video game make you sad, whether it's a character death or a song or a moment or a loss of a character,
Starting point is 00:26:27 if you play a game where it's like Permadeath or, you know, Ryan's sorceress on hardcore Diablo 2, you know. Deep wounds. I know, I know. That's a deep cut. Wait, I need to change my list. I need to change my list. I mean, we've all been there, man.
Starting point is 00:26:43 And it's like, you know, nobody wants to be sad. But the fact that games can make you feel this. way is what makes gaming amazing. So Ace, tell us about a time you cried, buddy. Oh, this is definitely a moment I cried about. And this is for the game, Infamous Second Son, which is an old game.
Starting point is 00:27:00 So you're getting a spoiler winning because I want you to experience it without spoilers. But otherwise, this is a pretty old game. You should have played this already. When your brother, Reggie sacrifices himself so that you can continue to live, it is a tragic moment. You've been led onto this bridge.
Starting point is 00:27:21 You've been ambushed by these guys who absolutely hate bioterrorist conduits, whatever you want to call them, guys with superpowers. And your brother is slowly being encased in concrete as you're holding on to him over the edge of the bridge. And he knows that you cannot save him and yourself. And he lets go. He lets go and you watch him fall into the water and disappear. And he tells you he loves you and he's proud of you. And this is a game where Carmen is.
Starting point is 00:27:48 is a thing. Your actions will determine how the world views you. He will always view you as you. The person you were before you got powers, this good person that he's always seen in you. And it just hurts. Especially if you're doing the evil run and he tells you like, I'm proud of you.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Oh, that's even worse. I love you. And then like you go on to do like the terror. You're instantly good after that. You're like, I can't be bad anymore. I had to for the 100%. I had to keep being evil. but it was a rough moment.
Starting point is 00:28:20 Ace is like, I got, I got priorities, people. Yeah, yeah. He was like the person who kept you connected to this world and didn't make you feel ostracized. It's just, it's rough, man. It's a sad moment. I never, don't you, Ryan? I never played that game. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:37 Did you play it right? Yeah, yeah. No, it's, it's, uh, it's heart wrenching. Yeah, no, absolutely. Yeah, having that, having that connection, that feeling. And then you're just like, you feel. so accountable and you're like, oh no, like, you know, like, Delson wants to save him. Like, he wants to save him. He just doesn't have the strength. Yeah. It's too much. Yeah, it sucks. All right.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Well, mine is going to be a video and I'm just going to let people watch the video because then they're going to understand what I'm talking about. So the video's right here, people. Jack, open it up. I can't believe it, Marcus. We finally found her. Maria. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, Maria. I tried to find you. God, I did. Please. No.
Starting point is 00:30:52 Maria. God damn it's me. Dominic. It's Dominic. Marcus, I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do, man. I'm so sorry. If you've never played it, if you've never played Gears of War II, you can watch that and still feel it.
Starting point is 00:32:24 You know what I mean? but this is for people that can't watch the video. You sent me this is Dom finding his wife. And Dom has been searching for his wife who got taken by the, what they're called the locust, right? The locust, yeah. Right? Yeah, she got captured by the locust.
Starting point is 00:32:42 And Dom has been looking for her for as long as you can remember. And there comes a point in this game where you're with Marcus and it's Dom. And he's like, we found her. and you open up the thing and she's there and it's his wife and it's this moment of joy and then all of a sudden like he snaps to reality and she is this husk of a of a person like she has been you don't even know what's happened but she's not there anymore like she's barely barely alive dom realizes it he starts freaking out he doesn't know what to do he's asking marcus like what do we do what do and it's like the moment of realization like you see it
Starting point is 00:33:23 said, dude, I can't. This scene gets me, dude. I told you, I rewatch this. I can't even right now. I rewatch this scene, dude, and I was sitting there and just like silence. This is one of the most masterfully done scenes, even for an older game, dude. And then the fact that he knows that he has to put her out of his misery. And then you see, like, the weight of that hit Marcus.
Starting point is 00:33:44 And then Marcus starts walking away because these are like the toughest manly men you could possibly imagine. You know, and then you see, oh my gosh, dude. It breaks my heart, man. No, that's such a good one because I was going to say, like, that's the thing is that, you know, just because you were, like, just jacked with muscles and you kill all these aliens and the locusts and stuff like that. And they're just like you said, the manliest of men. And there's just the epitome of alpha. Like, that doesn't mean you don't feel. And, like, the emotional weight, when somebody that's strong,
Starting point is 00:34:23 or somebody that, like, that you would view as that powerful breaks down, you know, it'd be like Superman, like just breaking down. You're like, no, no, no, you can't, you can't break down. Like, you're invincible, you know, so, so like to see him that could go through everything he went through and then just, you know, with that, you know, it just, man, it's, but I get it too. Like, you know, I would, I would go to hell and back for my kids and my wife and stuff like that. So you understand it.
Starting point is 00:34:52 But man, that's definitely one of those moments for sure. That thing wrecks me every time I watch it. And I knew the moment when this one and then I had to rewatch it because I also pulled the trailer down for this. And then I was just like, oh my gosh, dude, this just gets me, man. It's the music that kills me in that one. Oh, yeah. Oh, dude, the whole scene is incredible. So, all right, Ryan.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Sadness for you, buddy. What do you got? Which this is, I think this happens with a lot of stuff. is and it's cool and it shows the emotional weight of music with art and scenes and in cinematography and all these things but like mine's going to go for uh spoiler warning uh red dead redemption too i know we're going to have a lot of this one here but uh it's arthur's last ride yeah um my gosh dude after putting like 60 hours 70 hours into this game and I knew what was going to happen.
Starting point is 00:35:55 And I knew it. He's got, again, spoilers, he's got tuberculosis. He's going to die. I'm sorry, it's 1907 or whatever it is. Like, it's 1897, I forget the date, but he's going to die. And it's not good. And he's on that last ride. And it goes through like your life and into like your gameplay and all the things you did.
Starting point is 00:36:22 You know, and your choices and how you lived your life. And like, you're, man. Yeah, that's the way it is. Like, and that's, it's, it's a lot of it is the song. Like, and that's what shows how much music. And maybe we'll do have to do like a music episode again. Oh, absolutely. With like, with what video games, you know, what the tie-ins are.
Starting point is 00:36:41 But, but that together makes such an impactful statement. I think it's one of the most, honestly, of all a video game world. is Arthur's last ride. The music with the cinematography and what they show you, like the clips and everything is second to none. It's one of the best ever. No matter what, even if you didn't play the game, you're probably like, dang, you know, that was emotional.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Like that's when you know it's good, but that was one of the ones, no matter what, I'll tear up for sure. The two songs, when Arthur's writing, or like two of the most memorable moments in Red Dead. Yeah. That last ride really gets you. Oh, dude.
Starting point is 00:37:28 Yeah, I've gotten like goosebumps. Like going from. That game's so mad. Yeah. There's a reason that Red Dead is like, I mean, we have a couple of like, you know, a character and, you know, another example. It does a whole lot right. It does a whole lot right.
Starting point is 00:37:40 It does so much right. It, yeah, it does so much right. I'm so glad he's got to play it finally. I know. I love that Ace can like relate to this now too. Too bad it was AAA. Gross. I know. It's my wallet.
Starting point is 00:37:54 All right. Last one. This one was fun, dude. Oh, this was easy for me. There were a lot of moments that came to mind for me. And then I was like, I really want to, I really want like the best moment. Disgust. Ace, this was your idea. And when you first brought this up, I was like, why disgust? Dude, out of all the emotions. But then I was like, you know what, this is kind of fun.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Ace is also the guy that loves horror games more than, more than any of us. And then so I started going that route. And Ace, hit us with your disgust emotion. Well, brother, nothing disgust me more than dinner with the Baker family. No. You just took mine. You can share. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Oh, my God. Oh, man. You both, you guys both had that? No way. Yes, I swear to God. I haven't pulled up now. That was one of the grossest things ever. That's the grossest thing ever.
Starting point is 00:38:48 Go ahead, buddy. called by his wife who he thinks is dead. He goes all the way to Louisiana to find her, only to get knocked out by Jack Baker, and wake up as the most disgusting feast imaginable in front of him. Where? Where am I? What the hell?
Starting point is 00:39:09 Rise and shine, sleepy head. It's time for supper. Who are all you people? Where's me? Edith, it's good. Dumb some bitch wouldn't no good of it. Get him! Who cares?
Starting point is 00:39:25 Get out to win, Mark. Hit boys got to eat! He got to have his supper. Come here, boy. Let's do it. Come, oh shit, oh shit, he's not eating it, Jack! He's not eating it! That's a hell of, my...
Starting point is 00:39:51 There is special feast. Come a boy. I'll bet it's that crop again. God damn. Pigs. I'm coming back for you. Rotten food, maggots, all the like.
Starting point is 00:40:35 And he gets a plate of it just thrown out of him immediately by Lucas as soon as he wakes up. And then as it goes on and they realize you're not going to eat the food, Jack comes at you with that knife and starts trying to pry your mouth open. It is the most disgusting scene in video games.
Starting point is 00:40:53 only followed by another Resident Evil moment, which I'm not going to say in case when he has. Mine is not a Resident Evil moment. Oh, okay. It's the baby. The baby in Resident Evil 8. Oh, that was my,
Starting point is 00:41:06 that was the very first thing that came to mind for me. Like, legitimately, I was like, I'm going to do the baby. The baby, you know, at the bottom of the freaking creepy dollhouse.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, but people have heard me talk about that one before. So I was like, I got to come up with something different. And then I was like, well,
Starting point is 00:41:22 How about ill? Because the trailers for the game ill are freaking like just absolutely gross. And then I was like, no, that game's not even out yet. So then I really started thinking. And then I was like, oh my gosh, I remember the moment. I remember the moment. And you guys are going to, you guys are going to remember this too because this is a game that we all played together.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Oh, no. This was on my list, too, of games. This is the outlast trials. Oh, no. And number one, number one, just pick. Pick it. There you go. There's your answer.
Starting point is 00:41:53 The Outlast trials. That's your answer. However, however, I'm going with one of the earlier ones. And I still to this day, remember the three of us doing this mission. And the mission is called Dispoil the Auction. And this is the one where the girl is chained up in the middle platform. It's early on in the game in the mission list. And so we still didn't quite know what this game was all about.
Starting point is 00:42:19 and you have to slowly turn a hand crank and rip off her limbs to and dude I remember the three of us literally cringing and going like what are we doing? What is this game? Dude like one. Oh gosh. And then we're like turn the crank, turn the crank because the bad guy was chasing us and stuff and I remember every single time
Starting point is 00:42:42 one of her limbs popped off. We were just all three of us were like oh we all cringed. It's so hard. Like we didn't even care we were being hunted. We were just like, no. It was like every crank is like, you're like, oh, and she's screaming. She's screaming the entire time.
Starting point is 00:43:02 It makes it so bad. She's, oh. Guys, there's so many of these moments in this game. Like, you could literally just pick any one of them. But this one to me stands out because I remember us still being like, there's no way. There's no way we're doing this.
Starting point is 00:43:19 right now and then having to go through with it and all of us just equally being disgusted, man, where it was like, oh, man, it was the worst. It's that one I remember and then destroy the Futterman, the one where the guy goes through. I'm not going to tell you, I watched like six of these because I was trying to think of the one. What was the name of that one? That one. Oh, dude. That there's so many.
Starting point is 00:43:43 If you want a game that's number one, a fantastic game, but will make you feel, that will make you feel absolutely. I don't think I want to do this anymore. That game is it, dude. I do want to say before we totally move on with the Resident Evil 7, I know Ace and I had the same one. I played it in VR. Oh, I couldn't do that. I would hate it. That dinner, dude, that for me was like, I was looking around like this and I was like, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:44:17 And I was like, this is, this is horrible. You know, and you just, and there's, he ain't eating you, check. He ain't eating. Yeah, yeah. And I was just like, oh, no, oh no. And I'm like, stop it. Oh, you get away. You got to brush your teeth.
Starting point is 00:44:31 Yeah. So it's, it's even more in VR, man. It was, uh, that's why it was on my list too. But, oh, that was such a bad one. Yeah. It's a rough. All right. Well, Ryan, we know Ryan's there as well.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Ryan, is there another one that you can think off of the top of your head? It's fine. can. For disgust? No, nothing really. I got one. The Great Mighty Pooh from Conquer's Bad Fur Day. Oh, gosh.
Starting point is 00:44:57 Just a singing giant turd in a castle full of poop. Absolutely disgusting. Yeah. See, that kind of gross doesn't bother me for some reason. Oh, poop doesn't get you a butt. The dinner scene bothers me. The dinner scene bothers me greatly. The biohastered, that's just gross, dude.
Starting point is 00:45:14 It was so bad. I don't know what it is about maggots, man. Maggots might be the gross thing. It's really get me in it. I don't like it. Yeah, I don't know what it is. All right. Well, listen, there you go. And lucky you, we've got some video of these. Ryan, maybe I'll put the, I'll probably put the dinner scene. Oh, no. My scene is not appropriate. You can't watch that anywhere. The dinner scene you could probably watch. That's a good point. I'm not putting the outlast trials in the air. I was going to say the Skyron boot up because that's awesome, but like I'll do the dinner scene. That's fine. Oh, man. Yeah, if we had to go through that, I think people got to go through that, man. So that's a good one. All right.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Well, listen, there you go. Anger, joy, sadness, and disgust. Let us know what moment or what emotion you remember the most from a game, whether it's one of these four.
