Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the video gamers podcast.
Today, we're diving into something every gamer knows all too well, the wish list.
You know that sacred pile of digital hopes and dreams, and games we swear will buy someday.
Eventually, at least.
Today, we're going to pile them up in front of.
you and show you our indie wish list i am your host ace and joining me he might have the
smallest wish list in podcast history it's ryan you talking crap bro yeah i am what you want to go
man hey ryan drives you know they're free right just so you know you know compensating
uh we listen i have a very adequate wish list it is on
average and on par with most
wish lists. Some would say it's a fantastic
wish list. Just remember,
it's not the size of your wish list, guys.
It's the games that are on it. Okay?
Are you telling me you got an above
average wish list?
Some would say, not me.
Some people would say, though. I've heard
people talk about it. I've heard.
And he's the guy who only
remembers he added games to his wish list
when he gets the notification that they're
80% off.
It's Josh.
Yeah, dude, that's a really good way to sell me a game where I get the notice.
And it's like, a game on your wish list is now on sale.
And I'm like, oh, that's right.
And then I'm a sucker for an 80% off sale, man.
Can't afford to buy it.
Yeah, exactly.
An absurd wish list.
So, like, I'll get those notifications.
And I get them so often.
I'm just like, eh, eh, eh.
Yeah.
How many games are on your wish list?
I was going to ask the same thing right now.
Oh, no.
I know this is a personal question.
And we're asking about wish lists now, you know.
Why are we all looking into our wish list like this?
Nobody's listening, but.
Yeah.
All right.
What is it?
Let's see.
I'm excited.
I'll tell you right now, mine is 15.
I had 15 games.
I, dude, I legitimately have...
Sixty-five?
No, a hundred in sixty-five.
165.
I have 165 games on my wish list.
How many?
Okay, hold on.
All right.
They're free, boys.
They're free.
You can put things on there.
We're free.
Dude, that's, that is, that is so many. That is so many games.
That is a lot of games. Do you have like a dedicated email to just wish list notifications?
Because that would bug me, man.
No, man.
I have 15 games on my wish list. Ryan has 15 games on his wish list.
Coincidence? Maybe. A's is 160.5?
There might be a small discrepancy between us.
Do you actually know all the games on your wish list?
I feel like Ace gets into like some like,
he ate way too much little Caesars and chicken sandwiches.
And he's walking around this stupid and he's sitting at his computer and he's like,
wishless that?
I'm a wish list of this one.
And then he wakes up the next day and he looks at his wish list and he's like,
what the heck did I do last night?
It's better than waking up with a girl you don't remember.
He just wakes up with,
He just makes up with a bunch of whistlets.
A, I don't remember.
I put a AAA on my wish list.
I was going to ask, I wonder, I wonder what the ratio is.
It's probably like, like, 80% indie, 90% indie.
I looked at it.
The majority of it is just games that haven't even had announced release dates
in their indie games.
It's all TV.
Coming soon is all it says.
I'm like, yep, that's something I would have to do.
We had an idea.
Wishlisted.
Yeah, basically.
I mean, that's what we always say.
We always say the best way to help an indie dev is to wish list their game.
And, you know, maybe I just practice what we preach.
Bro, you are helping a lot.
Everybody.
But that is the today's episode.
We are going over our indie games on our wish list, which I, obviously, I have a lot more than you two.
But surely you were able to scrape something together.
We were, and our names aren't Shirley.
I wish this the games that again.
I'm actually interested in.
Like, that's my wish list.
Like, I only put games on there where I'm like, okay, I actually really want to like play
this game or remember this game.
Like, then why don't you go to get a start of then?
I will, but like, okay, here's the thing.
If you can't interest me in your game with your trailers or whatever, like, I'm not going
to wish list you at this point.
Like, you've got to show me more.
So like, I think that's fair.
It is fair.
I'm just saying, Ace, I'm going to put this out there and you know we love you, but you're kind
of a wish list slut, okay?
I'm just saying
Because my wish list
I'm protective of my wish list
I'm just saying
Ace is over for business baby
He is over for you a trailer
Ace gets a trailer
It's on the wish list
It's like they don't even have to prove anything
To you first
You got a game sent it to Ace
Done
Wishlist done
Well it's almost like like
People hold their
you know, the newer generation
holds their, like, likes
as a commodity and as, like, a resource.
Like, your wish list is a resource.
You gotta earn my like, man.
You gotta earn that thing, man.
Exactly.
I just like it.
I also just kind of, we'll use my wish list
to remember if I saw a game,
I'm waiting to go on sale.
Like, specifically, I'll just, I'll, like, tag it,
like, like, an animal in the wild.
Like, I want to know where you go.
That makes sense.
I honestly, dude, I'm, I'm real bad.
I know I preached it a lot and stuff.
And I try to think about it, and I'm doing it more.
Honestly, the only reason I have 15 games wishlisted
is from doing the indie with you, brother,
because all these are indie games.
And I'm like, oh, that's nice.
Oh, that's nice.
You know, and I can look at it.
It really does help out the devs.
But yeah, when you're like, you know,
will I remember this game?
Will I come back in six, eight months when it releases?
You know, the wish list does help.
And it helps the devs.
So I get why people do it.
But the vast majority of the time,
If I'm going to play a game, I don't need to wish list it to remember or like, oh, yeah, I'm going to get it now.
So, yeah.
I get that's fair.
I mean, this is just my Steam wish list, too.
I still have a whole, like, probably another 100, 200 games on my PlayStation wish list.
Oh, my goodness.
But anyway, we're talking about wish list.
Have we said the word wish list enough?
Yeah, go ahead and start.
Okay.
Does everybody know what this is about?
I, do you know what this is about?
Is it about wish lists?
The wishlist episode?
You know,
Oh, is it?
I wish, being like, I wish I could play this game.
Like, not like, oh, I once saw this game in a bar and then.
But I'm going to bookmark this tab.
Yeah, exactly.
Ace bookmarks every website he's ever been to, right?
It's like, how else will I get back?
Ace's banner on his window on his, uh, a chrome is like,
all the way across.
I mean, it's that where you never close a tab in your life.
Guys, yeah,
ACE's computers.
He always wonders why his computer's not running well,
but he's got 500 Chrome browsers open.
I admit, I am the problem.
Oh, my gosh.
Okay, well, this episode is the thing.
What are you got, Josh?
We're off the rails already.
Oh, man.
All right, well, listen, this first one is not going to resonate
with very many people at all,
except for maybe the OG gamers like me,
but it is a game called Missing.
Mystic Land.
This is, the full title is Mystic Land, the search for Mafaldo.
And it is a throwback to the old, like, might and magic type games, the Eye of the Beholder.
This is your first person grid-based exploration RPG.
You know, it's got influences from like the wizardry series, which Wizardry 7 is one of my favorite
RPGs ever. So for an old dude like me that grew up playing games like this, this checks
all the boxes for a game that is that kind of throwback. Ryan is shaking a sex. He's like,
bro, this game looks terrible. It's a little behind the scenes. We all kind of like send over
what we were thinking about using, you know, for our wish list. And we watched some videos so we all
knew what we were going to talk about. This looks so dumb, dude. Because you didn't play any of these games
Ryan? Yeah, because I'm not 100 years old.
Well, okay, but back in my day when we wanted to play an RPG, this is what we got.
Okay? Like, this is, this was it, man. I mean, it is, it is straight up for anybody that knows
the series, Might and Magic, not the heroes of Might and Magic, because they completely
changed the series, but again, it's an RPG first person exploration. You come across monsters
in the world, and then you kind of go into turn-based party combat. I love these type of games.
just got done talking about the old
SSI Gold Box, Dungeons
and Dragons games. This is very
similar to that. You can laugh all
you want, but bro... The more I watch this trailer
the more ridiculous it is. A whole bunch of
geysers like me have been
talking about this game and the
geyser community is very
excited for Mystic Land the search
for Mafaldo. Okay?
And when I found out about it, I instantly
put it on my wish list because I'm
old and I would have forgotten otherwise.
What's that?
Can we talk about how the trailer ends with coming 2024?
Yeah, you know, guys, but listen, listen, us older fellas, we forget things,
and I think he forgot to release it last year.
Oh, shoot, my game.
He's just going to wake up, oh, my game, oh, no.
Okay, also, I have to throw this out there because if this doesn't sound like the oldest, like,
publisher in the world, like, this is a throwback to the 80s.
like the name of the developer and publisher is
MegaVision Software.
What a name.
Yeah, this is this dude,
this dude is my spirit animal
because you know he grew up in the 80s.
He's probably a zenial like I am in.
And he's like, bro, these games were the jam.
And I'm like, absolutely.
So I'm going to buy it when it comes out
just to keep this genre alive
and to just give a fellow old guy
some money for making a game that I want to play.
I mean, I do have to commend the developer
for bringing a genre like this back because
AAA isn't doing this right now.
It's not.
This is a very bygone genre.
Like there are some
for a reason,
buddy.
Anybody that's ever played like
Legend of Grim Rock or some of these
other blobber type games,
this is that genre.
And if you grew up playing these,
they're very like comfortable and familiar
to you.
But yeah, this genre has been basically dead
for a really long time.
Yeah.
Well, you and when it's
if,
If it's released, you and the 12 other people are going to have such a good time.
You know what, I'll tell you what?
Let's make an on-air bet right now.
When this game releases, when this game releases within the first month, I bet you it has 300 reviews.
300 in a month?
One month.
All right, how much you want to bet?
20 bucks.
All right, sold.
All right.
Write it down, somebody.
Done.
Somebody write it down.
When it releases, we're going to be.
never going to remember this.
All right, well, we'll talk to you in like three years.
Someone will keep track of that for us, I promise you.
All right, there you go.
That's the bet.
Official bet, 300 reviews for Mystic Lans, the search for Mifoldo,
when it releases after 30 days.
Ryan, can you top Mystic Lans, the search for Mifoldo?
Dude, if I had like Tick Toc Tocco Indy game, it would top Mystic Lans.
Oh, come on.
Oh, no, I'm going to go with
one that we've talked to we had a voice actor on the show good friend of the show so like i'm
going to go with karen dude i'm so hype for karen i'm very very excited for this game it is one of the
few that um i know like i said i've been starting to try to wish list wish list more because it does
help the devs it does help um them kind of get an idea what the interest in the game is but
this one for me it's it is not it is far above peak level climbing and i know josh hates on peak
but this one was just, it was a cool, chill vibe game.
It's not going to be everybody's cup of tea.
Some of the stuff was a little wonky.
I hope they tighten up the climbing a little bit.
There was times where I was going and my leg is like flopping all over the place.
You can't hyper extend your knee to try to get a foothold ride.
I'm like trying to like, you know, so yeah, some of the stuff was a little crazy,
but a lot of time in development from since I've played the,
demo to now and um i think it just had good vibes man it's a it's a solid it did yeah it's a solid
looking game it's a solid um the audio was awesome the effects it was it was beautiful so like
there's a lot there i think there's some stuff they need to work on but overall when you wish list
the game this is probably what you want to do is like get something like this help them by wishlisting
it give them the boost let them know people are interested and then they're going to tighten it up
kind of you know and make something quality so um yeah that's what i'm going with beautiful game
i mean i i i will say this i probably won't wind up picking this up i i very quickly realized i don't
like climbing games but i got to give them credit like the game is beautiful sophia oleni who we had
on the show uh is the voice actress for it she does an incredible job like this game just screams
quality and i think a lot of people are really going to enjoy it man it's going to make waves i i promise
you know, especially with how big peak is right now.
Yeah.
Like there will be other people like, I like the climbing genre.
Like that might, that might actually boost what they get.
I think that's a good point too.
Like, yeah, having that effect from before and like people kind of being in that mode of climbing games with, you know, in granola bars and setting up camp and doing these different things that you can also do on this game.
I think it'll help.
So, I mean, that's a good thing.
I'll tell you what, it's definitely going to do more than 300 reviews in the first month.
It will.
I think it has more.
Yeah, he doesn't believe it, but it will.
More plays on the demo, but we'll see.
No, no bets for that one, huh?
Because we all know that one's going to be good.
Yeah.
Ryan, it's not about the size of your reviews, Ryan, okay?
All right?
Not again.
There we go.
All right, I'm taking it over, boy.
I'm bringing back, this is possibly, like, my most looked forward to game releasing this year.
If not this, it's this or Mr. Sleepy Man, and that's dead as disco.
And I've talked about it so many times.
I've played the demo for, like, hours because it has an endless mode where you could just keep, like, importing your own songs.
And I've been doing, like, anime intros and some of my favorite music videos and things like that.
This is just such a cool idea for a game.
It's a rhythm beat them up a la like Arkham, the Arkham games, where it's the, like, what is it?
It's not counterblock combat.
I'm not sure what you call it, but it's.
I know you're talking about, though.
It's very much like, yeah, it's like you're, you're putting the attacks in and you're always able to counter or block in order to not get your combo destroyed, which is super satisfying.
Yep.
But then it also has, like, a story you could go through, which you can only play the first mission in the demo, but it's, it's super promising.
And the graphics are beautiful.
In the endless mode, there's a setting where you can actually have stage transitions take place when you pull off a takedown.
So you pull off the takedown animation, you slam a guy's neck into the ground, and now the stage changes, like, seamless.
that's a really cool effect man like legitimately anything like that i i think a good comparison for
this ace for people that would probably be familiar is hi-fi rush hi-fi rush in a way with the combat
of like hi-fi rush imagine if it's not like a 3d platformer kind of adventure game like high-fi rush
was but just take the combat from that where it's like you're trying to attack on the beat you
get bonuses for you know pulling off moves to the beat of the music and stuff like that i actually
played this demo this game is really really well done and very fun man um i have no rhythm
so for me it's it's not the like i can't get into that beat and like the oh i pulled off this sick
move to this tempo and stuff like that but even without that like this game's very very well done
i'm i'm calling uh bs on that brother if they put techno you tell me okay well that's you wouldn't
flashback all i need is my glow sticks and there you go then then i'm okay just our
You do get the glow sticks when you go into fever rush.
Yeah, that's true.
See?
There you go.
You just needed the right music, dude.
That's all it is.
I mean, they put out a permanent demo for it too now.
So, like, you could always play it.
So as soon as they put the demo back out, I just started playing through all the K-pop
Demon Hunter songs.
Ah, there you go.
That's cool that you can put in your own music, too.
I don't know what the legality is.
I was going to say, let's not talk about the legality part of that, because we don't want to get them in trouble.
Yeah.
But anyways, good pick.
I also played the demo.
Those really aren't my jam, but I did appreciate the game itself and what they put into it.
You could tell the work, and you could see it was crisp, it was clean, like it was enjoyable.
It's not my type of game, but I did have fun when I played the demo.
It was a good time.
Yeah.
Deadest Disco is going to be a high quality product.
I promise you that.
All right, Josh, what's your next one?
A game called Monomith.
So this is another kind of RPG.
this is very reminiscent of like like
almost like Skyrim Oblivion
older school
it is in like beta 2 right now
so it's getting closer to its final product
this is not a very well-known game at all
but this just scratches that same itch for me
where it's like a little bit of nostalgia
through these like dungeon crawler
first person it's dark it's dreary
you're coming across monsters
you know you're peeking through keyholes
in seeing, like, what's on the other side of the door.
There's loot, there's adventure.
You know, this is, again, just a very kind of classic
RPG style of game.
It's not grid-based, like Mystic Land would be.
The closest, Ryan, you watch the trailer,
and you kind of even said, like, this kind of looks like a Skyrim-esque type game.
It's just the dungeon crawling, though.
Yeah, yeah, which I like.
I mean, again, I'm a huge fan of D&D.
I love RPG.
So if you kind of give something that captures that vibe,
and looks interesting to me.
Like, I'm instantly going to be interested in it.
And so, yeah, something about Monomith, man.
Like, I'm excited for it.
It looks very well done.
It's got magic and combat and archery and all these things.
It's got some reviews because it is in early access.
Now, it's not a lot of reviews,
but they're pretty darn good reviews for the people that have actually picked this up and
played it, which also tells me there's probably something here.
because if you can have 100% rating,
even if it's only over the last 30 days
and it might only be 16 people.
But if you can get 16 people to agree
that your game's awesome, that's great.
I think overall it's got like 460 reviews
and it's at like 92%.
Yeah.
You know,
they're doing pretty well for themselves
for being in an early access already.
Yeah.
And also, like, I just want to point out,
the character models are great and all,
but like the settings,
like the background and things look really good.
It's got a vibe to it.
I like the lighting.
Like, honestly, there's something about it
that just kind of captures my attention.
It makes me go like, ooh, I'm actually pretty interested in playing this one,
so much so that I wishlisted it, so I don't forget about it, you know,
and I want to wait till the full release on this one,
so I can just dive in.
So, yeah, Mono Myth for me looks really good,
and it's one of those I'm very curious to see what the game looks like when it actually releases.
The dev's name is Rat Tower as well, which is really funny.
Oh, here we go.
So I clocked that instantly.
I clocked that instantly.
I clocked that instantly.
wish list, guys.
Let me just
All right, Ryan.
What you got?
Oh, I got a little game
called Light No Fire.
Oh.
Oh, thanks.
This is a banger.
I know that this one is the one that,
yes, it is an indie.
Yes, it is beautiful and amazing
and we all want it now,
but we don't have it.
I want it so bad.
Planned release date, still TBD, but man, this one is, this is top of my, of my wishlist kind of list, if you will.
It's just this beautiful, fantastical world looks amazing, looks like it plays amazing.
Just everything about it sits well with me.
I want to learn more.
I want to see more.
I want to know more.
And that's why I wishlisted it, man.
It's just one of those that there's a lot of cool different settings you can tell from the trailers or the, the,
screenshots that you see so i'm excited i just would i would like it to be here you know i i said
this before i think we all do one of my absolute most anticipated games for a game that we have not
heard very much about um i this is i just with friends i love survival crafting hello games
has absolutely just knocked it out of the park i can't imagine how good this game is going to
be um you know the the the thinking behind this is it's
It's like, you know, take your standard crafting survival game, but then put it into a massive world, you know, where you can just play forever with your buddies and get dragon mounts and all kinds of other stuff.
Again, absolute top of my hype meter and my anticipation meter for this.
And I know it's taking them a long time, but I have the utmost faith in them.
I do.
Oh, for sure.
Because of how they've handled things with no man sky and how they're like, okay, we're not going to rush it this time.
You'll get it when it's done, we promise.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you.
So the next one on mine is a bit of an oddity.
Like usually when we wish list things, it's things that aren't out yet because, you know, we're just like waiting for it.
This has been out since 2021 and I just haven't really pulled the trigger on it for some reason.
But it's a game called Before Your Eyes.
Dude.
Emily Sondering, we had her on the show.
She mentioned this game, dude.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
If you remember, she said this is one of the most.
unique games she's ever played. I knew this title
is down and familiar, dude.
It's the one where you, you die and
then you get a chance to go back through and relive
your life, but you can only move forward
and every time you close your eyes is when you
move forward. That's just like... And they mean in real life.
So, like, it tracks, yeah.
What a cool
mechanic, man. That's a wild. That's such a
cool use of the camera. To be like, oh,
you closed your eyes, we're moving forward in the game
now. It's like, I can tell
this is going to be like a heart wrenching, like,
hard to like go through story the first time but then like it becomes like an all-timer for people
but dude it's just like oh it looks so good oh gosh you can open your eyes way too far dude that is
you get to a good part you just stay there just so everybody knows we do have video now so
so you can come and uh and hang out and watch uh watch us doing this josh can open his eyelids
way more than I ever thought he could just so you know you know those guys like have that
weird thing like get bug eyes like gosh is almost there I ain't no bug eyes I know I'm saying
you're almost there you're you're on the precipice him's fighting words Ryan called my bug eyes
you're close oh man you're like big eyelids guys what can I say okay I was born with it
oh my god all right fellas I'm with that's a good pick though that's a good pick yeah this
I definitely want to pick it up soon.
I think it would make me cry.
Like honestly,
like, honestly, I watched the trailer and I was like,
bro,
this is going to be way too like to the heartstrings,
man,
where you get to see your kids,
you blink,
right?
And then your kids are grown.
And it's,
it's a cliche saying,
but that's the truth,
man is like,
everybody always like,
it's going to be over the blink of an eye,
man.
And there is a lot of truth to that.
Dude,
I was the kind of game that leaves you ugly crying at your PC.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Exactly.
I was just playing like God of War with my one and a half year old,
two year old and then and then now he's nine yeah just turned nine dude yeah and we walked around
when he was like two years old he'd walk around and go boy boy you know and like so so it's it's just
wow these types of games that's cool i i probably i avoid this stuff like the plague because i you know
i cry at like every disney movie and every commercial i see so like something like this i'm not
going to intentionally put myself in this path of destruction of you know emotion but uh but it's
cool. I love the idea. I love
the unique nature of
that and then utilizing the camera and stuff
like that. So that's so cool, man.
That's so cool. Yeah.
12,000 reviews over almost 13,000.
Overwhelmingly positive. This game is
overwhelming positive and it's
people love it. So clearly we're
scared of it for a reason.
Yeah.
But we will get right back to the wish list
after this.
All right, fellas. We're back.
Josh, you're up next.
All right.
I'm going to have a couple more, but I have to talk about this game
because this game looks absolutely bananas to me.
And I am here for it, guys.
And that is a game called Mugenics.
This is from the developer of Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy.
So this dude has an absolute pedigree already.
And if you have not seen the trailer for Mugetics,
you have got to do yourself a favor and watch this trailer,
because this is absolute absurdity
and I love everything about this game
It makes me uncomfortable dude
Like I just get uncomfortable
I'm like I get the ick
And I'm like I don't I kind of like it
But I don't I think I should
His games are good at that
His games are very good at that
Yeah I this is the most bonkers
Like game premise idea
Slash trailer that I think I've seen man
And I instantly it's like
If you can make something like this
Like I am a fan
right off right off the rip so you take that and you put that with the pedigree that this developer
already has meogenics is is it is a turn-based cat breeding demonic dark crazy game that it's like i
mean take one look at the main character you are a cat that has a dead siamese twin head of
the another cat sticking out of your butt you know like this is and then it's
It's like turn-based combat on top of this.
Like, I, oh my goodness, man, I'm here for it.
I can't wait for this game.
It is on my wish list.
I, it just looks crazy to me.
But I think the game itself will actually be pretty fun too because this guy knows good
gameplay.
I mean, super meat boy in Binding of Isaac.
Like, come on.
These like grid-based turn-based RPGs like this are actually some of my favorite.
Yeah.
So, like, that already gets my attention.
Apart from just being absolutely bonkers, dude, I think the game itself is
actually going to be really good
I agree
honestly I agree as
as bonkers and crazy looking as this game is
it's like it's going to be pretty good
I watched this little trailer
like four times and I
still don't even know what this game is
going to be like this is the this is
ridiculous and then you start
and then you start breeding your
weird like demonic
disfigured cat with other cats
like I cannot wait to see where this game
goes man
I can't believe I didn't know about this still today
Oh yeah
Add to wish list
Yeah exactly
I mean that's why we do this right
It's like we're trying to put games in front of people that you should probably know about
Oh
All right Ryan you're up what you got
I don't know you're going to talk the last two
Speaking of games that are crazy
Have you ever have you ever been a bean and you just want to kill stuff
Like a well you can say that I have
Killer Bean?
Well, you can do that with Killer Bean.
Killer Bean.
Killer Bean.
GTA meets Max Payne, meeks.
Meets Bush's baked beans.
Bushes baked beans.
I honestly, I'm not going to like guys.
When we were doing research for this and we're like, oh, yeah, pull up your wish list.
And then I'm looking through, you know, all 15 that I had, obviously.
I'm looking through and I was like, oh, Killer Bean.
What is this?
Oh, that's right.
And I pulled it up and watched it.
And man, I got immediately hyped back up for it.
It is ridiculous.
It was dumb.
It is stupid.
And I can't wait.
I'm very excited to play it if I ever do.
It looks like it has that same over-the-top action as like a just cause game.
Yeah, exactly.
It's ridiculous.
It's ridiculous and dumb.
And I'm all here for it.
When you mentioned this, I thought you were trolling me at first, Ryan.
And then the second I started watching the trailer, I was like, oh my God.
Like, this looks crazy.
I love the way this looks.
Ace and I cover this on something.
That's the only reason, trust me, that's the only reason it's on here.
And somehow it popped in here and this is how you know because it's, it's developed by Killer Bean LLC.
I like how you blame Ace for this, but we all know Ryan's secretly Googling like murderous bean games.
Murderous Beans to kill my co-host.
Angry, angry beans, you know, like Killer and the Goons.
it's just it's it's crazy looking it's got like like i said the max pain slow mo you can like bounce
bullets off of other bullets and like ricochet and through the leg like jordan dunk things with
grenades it's just it's it's ridiculous and it's over the top and it's awesome it looks it looks so
cool for just a goofy dumb game um eventually one day it'll be out yeah it's yeah it's
Rogue is getting pretty popular now.
Oh, yeah?
Yeah, those FBS rogue likes.
We're seeing a lot more of them now.
Oh, yeah.
I'm pretty impressed, honestly.
All right.
Guys, I'm super hyped for this one.
Have you guys heard of the game Thick as Thieves?
Oh, yes, baby.
Yes, yes, yes.
This looks like such a good time.
It really does.
This is a PVPVE game where you run around as thieves
trying to pull off
a heist successfully
but on top
of the AI
like cops walking around
you've got to contend
with other player thieves
in the level
messing you up
I love it
it looks so much
like thief and dishonored
thrown into a
a PVP
just
what is it
stealth bonanza honestly
it's crazy
I love the idea
of screwing over another thief too
just like completely
yeah
this is this game looks
I'll be honest, dude, this game looks incredible to me.
I love it.
It's actually on my wish list as well.
We were talking a little bit.
And then we were fighting over like, who got to talk to bring it up.
But it was like, dude, thick as thieves looks amazing.
I can't wait for this game to come out.
You get to play in co-op as well with your buddies.
And you're trying, like the beauty of this is it's not like just kill the other thieves, right?
Like you're trying to outsmart them and you're trying to frame them and get their
I'm caught and things like that.
So I love the premise of this game.
It also looks like it is incredibly well done at the same time.
So I am all in on this game.
Like the thing with this is like you can easily outsmart AI.
You can learn patterns and things like that.
But once you throw other players into the mix, now things are interesting.
Yeah.
Because you know that while you're thinking this, they're thinking the exact same thing of how do I beat this person without getting screwed over myself.
Yeah.
And you can set traps for them.
Like, I mean, the ability to be creative and, like you said, like,
outthink your opponents to me is absolutely a very enticing premise.
I'm so glad that it's not just, oh, just shoot the other team.
You know, like, we've got plenty of those games.
I don't want that.
I want to try to be creative.
I want to outthink people.
I want to set traps for people and then see it, like, actually work and get pulled off
and things like that, man.
So, yeah, I.
That's what it's enticing for me, too.
like being able to have that little uh it's not just attacking them it's you have to plan and
do it accordingly you know to make this happen to to get your crew over theirs and like sabotage
them like i love it i think it's i think it's awesome and this is like from the creative director
of the thief games in days x so like that's already pretty promising yeah it's a pedigree there
for sure there's a pedigree there to look forward to and i for one am very excited for thickest
thieves. I feel like no one's talking about it. I feel like no one said a thing about it.
I think we just haven't seen a whole lot yet. You know, like that's the, we've got a really
good trailers that got us very hyped for it. But it's like, I think they just need to show off a little
bit more of this. And then I think the hype level will start to rise. I'm kind of hoping games
come. They'll show something. Yeah, honestly, I am too. I am. Honestly. All right. All right.
Finish us up, Josh. What you got left? I'll go real quick on this one because we brought this up on the show a
couple times but mixtape uh this is the teenager hand of age game with a beautiful art style
and incredible soundtrack to this we have talked about this game a few times but that is absolutely
on my wish list i cannot wait for this game another one that'll make you cry yeah i mean i think
it's going to do it all dude i think it'll make you cry i think it'll make you laugh i think it'll make
you miss the the days of high school with your friends and and the times that you had and the experiences
and trying to figure out life and the awkwardness and the emotions and the outlook on life,
you know, and all these things that just, I'm getting chills just thinking about it.
But it's like this game seems like it knows how to capture that in just the trailers.
So it's like, dude, if they can pull this off, this might be one of those like insanely memorable games
that people wind up talking about for a really long time.
That's not counting that the soundtrack for this game is an absolute banger of the sound.
That'll sell copies alone.
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
So mixtape for me is absolutely like a must play the second it releases.
I will be all over this game.
Nice, dude.
Yeah, I'm 100% in on that with you, buddy.
Yeah.
All right, Ryan, what's your last one?
Oh, man.
This one is, again, just look, art style, just amazing, almost like effects and ambiance of what you can play.
I'm going graft.
I cannot wait for Graft
I'm very excited for this one
that kind of survival horror RPG element
I love the look at this game
and honestly that's like the biggest biggest feature for me
I cannot wait to check this out
Graft is going to be a killer
I'm stoked
yeah we got to see
I was going to say we got to interview the developers
for Graft and this is not doing like
a like this game looks incredible
Also, I'll just throw this back since we were just talking about music.
One of the best trailer songs I have ever heard in my life, dude.
I remember the first time we watched it, we're like, dude, that music is so good.
It made for the trailer alone, dude.
And I played that song on like repeat.
So if the game is anything like the effort that they put into the trailer music, this game's going to be something special, man.
It definitely stands out graphically as well as just fitting in that cyberpunk survival horse.
genre, which is surprisingly barren.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
Usually if we hear cyberpunk, it's like an epic action RPG, like, you know, Cyberpunk 2077.
Yep.
But no, this is going to be awesome.
I 100% think this would be a fantastic game.
Good wish list, Ryan.
Good job.
Yeah, good job, Ryan.
Good job digging through those 15 games for us.
It was a lot to choose from, man.
I had a lot to go through.
All right.
I'm going to finish up here, boys, with a game called Gretel and Hansel.
so fun story about this jigglepuff posted this game into our discord which jigglepuff great friend of the show always showing me indies and things i can you know show to you guys honestly
i had seen this game somewhere before 13 years ago it was a itch dot io game and i watched a youtube
play through the entirety of it really 13 years ago like 13 years ago and i saw this and i was like there's no way this game's
exists. That's
crazy. But it is
getting a official full release
with improved art style and graphics.
It's a
point and click puzzle game set in
the grim, dark
fantasy storybook world of
Hansel and Gretel. It's Gretel and Hansel
and Hansel because she's the smart one and he's the idiot in this one.
Yeah. I'm not going to lie,
this is, this might be the weirdest looking game
that we have talked about and that's going up against meugenic.
and uh and killer bean i'm watching this trailer and i'm like only ace could find a game like this dude
there's always one he always finds one for sure i can always find something man i don't even know
what this game is like it's a point and click horror puzzle game it's a what a horror puzzle
yeah it just looks i could you can die horrifically if you mess it up i know is at one point
they rip off like gretel's face and then she chops off hansel's hands and there's blood
spurting everywhere and that's where I was like there is a weird part of this that looks
really interesting but all the rest of it I was just like what am I watching right now man
yeah that's a lot of years to be in development too yeah well like I don't know what happened to it
it just kind of disappeared off my radar once it was you know off itch.io and like on that free
software but then Jiggle basically like restarted that battery in my brain I was like oh my gosh
I've seen this before.
Oh, man, seven or eight years ago.
Now I remember.
But I'm looking forward to this one just because, if nothing else,
because I had that 13 years of nostalgia of waiting for this game,
and it just never showed up.
But now it's here.
It's in front of me.
It looks better than ever.
You were playing a point-and-click game like two weeks ago.
That's true.
The Drifter is great, by the way.
