Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the video gamers podcast. Gaming is an amazing hobby, but sometimes we can get a little too excited about the number of games out there. Sometimes we fall prey to the wonderful yet evil steam summer, I mean steam winter, I mean, Steam Autumn sale. Our wallets take a beating, but our backlogs grow in leaps and bounds. Sometimes awesome looking games like Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and a vowed release within just a week or two of each other. Whatever the cause, we all have that backlog of games we've been meaning to get to. And today, we're talking about a ton of games in our backlogs that still have our eyes and attention. If maybe not our time to actually play them.
Starting point is 00:00:59 It's going to be a gaming-packed episode with some seriously good titles, so get ready. But first, some introductions are in order. I am your host, Josh, and joining me, when I asked him what his games and his backlog were, he said, well, Diablo 2, Lord of Destruction, and Diablo 2 resurrected. What do you mean? It's Ryan. What, I mean, what more of a backlog do you need? Like, that's, you're never done.
Starting point is 00:01:27 That's all it is. is you, 20-something years later, you're never done. And it's just revolving. That is, I'm just being economical. I'm being frugal and frugal and friscoll. I don't think that's really, I don't think friscoll is a word. I'm just making up words. That's how committed I am to Diablo.
Starting point is 00:01:44 I'm making up words. I, you know, we pick on you and your love of Diablo too. But dude, any game that you can play 20 years later and still have a good time is a testament to a great game. I mean, like, Rocket League. I love Rocket League. I haven't played it in a few months, but it's like, is Rocket League going to be around in another 15 years or people still going to be just, you know, playing Rocket League? And it's like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:02:09 If it is, then you're an all-time game at that point. Exactly. Well, welcome in everybody. Ryan? I'm tired, boss. I'm tired, boss. I wish this is like the IRL stamina bar. I don't have a mod for it.
Starting point is 00:02:28 This is where we got to rest, man. We're going to do, we're just going to just be goofy and crazy and fun and talk about some crazy stuff right now. I'm excited. Yeah. You know, listen, we want to thank all the people that have come on the show to do these awesome interviews. I mean, talking to voice actors, talking to these developers. I mean, this has been awesome.
Starting point is 00:02:49 And we warned people ahead of time. We said, man, we are shooting for the moon. We're taking this podcast to the next. level. And I think they got a taste of that. But at the same time, you know, this is, this is always who we've been. It's who we will always be. We are gamers chatting games, hanging out together, talking about the stuff that gamers talk about. And, you know, it's been awesome. But it's like, this is like a kind of like a, like a breath of fresh air. Back to basics, baby. They're getting that stamina bar back, right? Like, we've done the big,
Starting point is 00:03:24 heavy fight and it's like now it's just time to explore a little bit so yeah exactly you said it we're back to basics um so for people that are like are you guys turning into just an interview podcast no we're not we're still going to be doing these awesome bonus rounds our twig episodes our deep dives and all that but we are absolutely thrilled and excited to be able to mix in some of these interview episodes and just meeting people in the industry and talking to them and kind of getting that inside look like honestly one of my favorite things is like asking the questions the game think. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Yeah, we're, we're your voice. We're here for you. Yeah. And I mean, that's what we will always do. That is our guarantee to people. But honestly, the feedback to those interviews has been spectacular, dude. So honestly, thank you to everybody that has reached out to us and just said, yo, I love these because, you know, that was the goal is to, to be able to do this,
Starting point is 00:04:17 keep it entertaining and kind of give people a look at the people that are behind the games on those as well. So we'll definitely have more of those in the future. We probably will not have four of them in a row kind of thing like that. But yeah, we're super excited for, like I said, this was our promise to the listeners, right? Is we're going to try to up the game. We're going to try to bring you more awesome content. And the only thing we ask is that you join us for the ride and bring a friend along, man.
Starting point is 00:04:45 That's the best thing people can do is tell people about the podcast, leave us a review. We have a couple we're going to read here in just a second. And, you know, just rate the show and join our community, man. That's really all we ask in return. So speaking of reviews, Ryan, we get a chance to get back to a couple of them, buddy. This is one of my favorite things, man. Every time we see these come in, it just, it warms my heart. And, you know, good, bad, otherwise, like, just to see that people care enough to hop in, write a review, let us know what they think.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Like, there's something special about it. And it's, it is so awesome. And if you leave them, we're going to read them on the show, which is even better. Yeah. Yeah. It really, you said it and we have said it before, but there is nothing like seeing a new review pop up and the kind words that people say. And then to realize that we get to kind of be a part of their lives.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Yeah. You know, we're at the gym with them. We're mowing the lawn with them. We're on their commute to work with them. And I mean, that is awesome, man. We absolutely love it. It's the reason we do this. So, well, I'll tell you what.
Starting point is 00:05:48 I'll start off with this one, Ryan. This is a good one. This one comes in from Gregosaurus, and it's titled One Above All from Your Favorite Raptor. And it says, in a world with easily over a million podcasts and countless ways to pass the time in your day, I am beyond confident in saying that this show is in fact one above all. Above all the other shows, the quality of this content does not easily dry or get repetitive. Above all the others, there are no hosts that truly care about. the connections made along the way. Above all the others, there is no community that has made me feel like I belong. This is not just a show with two friends. This is one big family that's going on
Starting point is 00:06:34 an incredible journey together and I will never get tired of being excited for the next chapter. Thank you for making all of this possible. Thank you for keeping what I believe to be the spirit of gaming alive. The true friendships. All the best, your favorite Raptor. oh man that's what that's a good review that's that's pretty solid like what more can you ask for than that a bunch a couple of dorks talking about a video games and you get that response man that's oh man that that is uh that is extraordinary for sure and speaking of extraordinary i got another review that's also i guess we're extraordinary because it's five stars but this is from Soliday with two Wies, which, uh, it says,
Starting point is 00:07:23 awesome podcasts. These guys are funny and cover a lot of content and make a lot of their own content to keep it interesting. Glad I found you guys. I tried other podcasts, gaming things, and it just ain't it. This is it. Love you guys. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Love you too, Soled. I love you, man. That is, uh, that is a, dude, I love every one of these. So, that's a solid, uh, review. A. A. Oh, no. Oh, wait.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Is this is he Canadian? Canadian? Like, hey, that's solid. Hey. You don't want to get me into, I, I played a lot of hockey growing up. So you don't want to get Ryan into Canada mode. And I'll just get into hockey bro and say a lot of crazy stuff. What if he just figured it out though?
Starting point is 00:08:10 I think he was like, you guys, I'm not solid. It's this is solid. Solid. Yeah. There you go. See? We might be slow, but we'll get there. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:08:22 Well, Ryan, I am excited for this episode. Man, this is something that every gamer in the world can relate to. You know, it's that backlog, right? Yep. I mean, it is the games that we pick up on sale. And I, you know, I poked fun at Steam, but I think Steam is the biggest culprit because it's like, you mean, I can pick up this game for $3? Oh, dude. Like, okay.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Yeah. Epic Game Store, giving away free games all the time. And it's like, sure, I'll pick that up for free. Oh, yeah, I'll pick that one up for free too. And before you know it, we've got this huge backlog of games. Now, I do want to preface this by saying that we are including games that like we have 100% meant to play as well in that backlog. Because I don't think that the sole qualifier is that it has to be sitting in your library, you know, kind of thing. Like we all have those games where it's like, dude, I absolutely meant to pick this game up.
Starting point is 00:09:15 I absolutely will play this game at some point as well. So we are leaving a little bit of wiggle room there for just some of those games that will always be on our radar, you know, as far as that goes. So I mean, a lot of these games literally are sitting in my Steam library or on Epic Game Store at the same time. But we just, we kind of wanted to leave a little bit of that leeway there because we all have those games, man. It's like, that game you missed and you're like, I will play that game at some point.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Whether it's in the library or not, it's like, okay, that one's on the list. I'll buy it, you know, when there's a sale or something happens, but it's, it's on the list of, you know, that one's going to happen at some point within the next, you know, six, eight months, year or something like that. So it's, it's definitely in the library. And I think one of the fun things for this is, is it's like you're going to see a wide range of games here as well, which is really cool. And then one of our favorite things about this podcast is, is like, we don't get paid to like tell people to play video games. But I absolutely love when somebody. like hears us talk about a game picks it up and then it's like guys I picked this game up because I heard you talking about it and I freaking love this game yeah like that it's like again we talk about that just like warm happy feeling man and it's like what better thing as gamers than to like put a game in front of somebody have them you know experience it and then have them like share that joy of playing that game like yeah we complain about games we hate but we like the opposite
Starting point is 00:10:43 it is true. It's like we love hearing about games that people are passionate about and they love at the same time. So hopefully you might pick up a game out of this episode that's like, oh yeah, I forgot. I wanted to play that. That's one that was on my list and I totally spaced it for sure. No, it's, it's like you, you kind of give somebody a hint on like a movie or a TV show. It's like, okay, you know, that's, it's not interactive. The thing that's so crazy about video games is you are part of that world. And when you walk away from that and you had that amazing experience,
Starting point is 00:11:14 you walk away with something different. It's a little bit different than a movie or a video game, or I mean, or a TV show. And from someone who recommended it to them, it makes you feel that much more like, yeah, I told you. You know, see? See?
Starting point is 00:11:31 This is why, I'll relieve me on the next one, okay? The next one I gave you, it's going to be fire as well. So you'll have to play it right away. So, yeah, I love, I love these backlog. And I'm so stoked to get into these because I honestly want to play them all. So I'm just like kitchen. This was this was not a good thing to do.
Starting point is 00:11:49 No. To look at these games. Like we were talking about it. We're like, all right, man, we're back to our bonus rounds. We're back to just, you know, talking about games and stuff. Yeah. And we were like this backlog. This was actually, again, this was a recommendation from our community, you know, where the people said,
Starting point is 00:12:05 hey, we have like a channel on our Discord server where it's like, you know, recommend some show ideas and stuff like that. And so this was a recommendation. But we instantly were like, oh, man, that would be so fun to talk about. But then at the same time, like, dude, we're playing Kingdom Come Deliverance too right now. We're getting ready for a deep dive on that one. Avowed is releasing tomorrow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:26 You know, for people that didn't get the early access option for that. So it's like, I mean, I don't need, I don't need 10 more games than I'm dying to play. I don't even remind space, man. Yeah, yeah, exactly. So, all right. Well, let's get into this, man, because there are some fun games. Now, you and I did share our lists together because there's no surprises, you know, or hiding things on this one. And we actually had two games that we overlapped on. We did. So let's start with those first because I think it's just fun to say, hey, we're both kind of amped to play this. This first one, I will fully say, I don't know that I'm going to like this game. I have heard so many mixed reviews. about this game. I have heard people say, dude, I don't get it. It's a walking simulator. I've never played a more boring game in my life. I don't understand why people want to be a package delivery guy that is stumbling around and trying not to just spill things everywhere. This is
Starting point is 00:13:24 the most frustrating boring game I've ever seen. And then you see people go, dude, this game is something special. It's unique. It's Hideo-Kajima. You know, what's not to love? love, and that is a game called Death Stranding. Now, you and I have never played this game. We both own it. I know it's in our libraries because we picked it up for free when the Epic Game Store gave it away. We were both like, ooh, I'll take that. So what is it about Death Stranding that makes you interested? Because I'll go into that in a little bit, but I wanted to preface. I have some serious concerns about whether I'm going to like this game or not. No. And I mean, for you and you're kind of the archetype of what you like within a game does lend to some concern for something like this in my view for you. But for me, I mean, I'm the guy that one of my favorite parts in Red Dead 2 is the entry snow level. Like when you start off and you're just trudging through the snow and, you know, that's a walking simulator, if anything. So to me, these types of worlds where you, where you, where you're, where you. you are just, you become part of it and whether you're walking or running or doing missions, when it's that involved in that kind of, you know, the thing that that lends me some credibility on what my opinion is going to be with it is the Kojima aspect. I'm a, you know, I'm Metal Gear Salt guy. So, I'm like, okay, I'll try it. You know, it's Kojima. I'll try it. You know, I haven't yet. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:15:01 I'm sorry, I swear. I'll try it someday. very polarizing game though man absolutely and there's a lot about it but i mean it's sitting at like a nine out of 10 on steam 82% on metacritic um i mean it's it's it's up there so it's just maybe one of those things that it's not everybody's cup of tea but it may still be an amazing game i i'm very curious like legitimately this is probably the game that's on my list where i go i feel like i'm either going to despise this game or I'm going to actually see why people love it. I will say this. You made me play Metal Gear Solid 5. And in playing that, I remember the introduction. And I remember the flaming Pegasus and all the weird characters. And I remember watching all these cutscenes and just
Starting point is 00:15:47 going like, what is this game? Man? What are these cutscenes? Like, what the heck is going on? And so it was one of those things where, but I liked it. It was so weird that I'm like, I liked it, you know? And with Death Stranding, I feel like it has a lot of that Hideo Kojima like just like feel to it. So it's like, I mean, if you've watched any of the trailers, even when it like got announced, people are like, what the heck is this man? Weird baby in a backpack, weird sludge creatures, this odd world and all that. I think the main complaint is the gameplay. But yeah, Death Stranding is there. And I, I know that you and I both. have gone like we need to play this game at some point yeah no absolutely yeah it's it's way up there you know uh who knows when we'll get to it because i know the the next one's coming out at
Starting point is 00:16:35 some point um but you know we shall see i guess yeah all right um and then the other one is a game that we have heard a lot about this is a game that i'm absolutely positive that i would i would love like i don't know if you would love it but i know that i would love it um in and we have heard so many good things about it. I am kind of curious for you to play this because this, I think, is a fantastic entry into the souls-like genre because it's much more approachable for people. And I think it kind of takes away that dark, grim, you know, dark souls feel. And instead, it puts you under the ocean where you get to be a cute little crab.
Starting point is 00:17:19 And that is another crab's treasure. Yeah. You know, famously called a shells like instead of a soul's like. It's literally in the steam descriptor for the game. I remember when this game was announced and a lot of our listeners were very excited for. Ace, you know, who takes, you know, he handles the indie podcast for us in that episode was just super excited about another crab's treasure, played it, loved it. Every person that has played this game just comes back and raves about it. And so it's like, well, it's not to love, man, you know, like I haven't heard a single bad thing
Starting point is 00:17:59 about it. I've heard that the gameplay kind of evolves and it's just a joy. That is that another Krebs treasure is very high on my list of like when I get a free weekend or, you know, a week off of games or something, I will pick that game up and play it like for me kind of thing because I'm pretty sure that I would love it. But you had this on your list, Ryan. And this, this kind of shocked me because it's like, do you see Soulslike? That's the whole point is it Soulslike combat, but you're just a cute little crab working your way, you know, through the bottom of the ocean. So what's up with this for you? For me, it's just, you know, famously I'm not a Souls fan. I'm not the kind of guy that likes to sit and just kind of roll around over and over and over, but I need
Starting point is 00:18:43 something different. I've played a million of these, you know, medieval night kind of worlds, dark and gritty. I love it. And I love exploring. I mean, Skyrim is one of my favorite games ever. But if it's going to go into the realm of that soul's archetype, like, give me something a little different to interest me or just maybe just be obnoxious or crazy. And being a crab is, is the way to go. Like, that's, I'm like, okay, all right, I'll, I'll check this out. I'm not a soul's guy, but you know what? I'll take a peek at it, you know? Yeah, I think it's, again, I haven't played it. I don't think it's super difficult is one of the things. Like, I know that there are plenty of boss fights in the game. I like the fact that you can get different shells because you
Starting point is 00:19:27 are a hermit crab. So it's like you can get like a little plastic cup or you can get different kind of shells to go on your back, which I think is kind of a neat take on like the gear upgrades and stuff there also. I just, I think this game looks fantastic. I will absolutely be picking up another crab's treasure at some point. I've just, I don't know that I've heard a single person go, eh, it's okay. Yeah. Everyone loves it. Like, and I, I mean, I'm pretty sure. I saw, we saw the merch from Ace, but it was just a hat with a crab with like a sword or a knife or whatever. And I was like, okay, that's pretty sweet.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Just for the merch alone, like that is, that's top tier. You know, we got to play that one. All right. Listen, we're going to get into our individual lists here, but those are the two that we share. But we're going to take a quick break and then we'll be right back. All right, Rocket League players. Starting point is 00:21:18 That's T-R-O-P-H-I-D-A-I. Train smarter, climb faster. All right, we are back. All right, now we're getting into the nitty-gritty because this is where you and I veer off from each other a lot. And I'll start us off on this one. This is a game that I actually had my eye on
Starting point is 00:21:40 from the moment it was announced. I got it for free. Again, thank you at the Game Store. I wish I could actually play some of these games that you're given away. But this, the game for me is Marvel Midnight Suns. Now, this game when it got announced, I just went, dude, they made this game for me. Like it's superheroes. It's Marvel. And it's a turn-based game where you get cards to kind of use as your skill abilities. There's tacticalness. You know I love turn-based combat. I love that kind of strategy that's involved there.
Starting point is 00:22:09 You get the kind of stories between the characters. There's interplay between the characters, depending on who you take on your missions and things like that. There's the whole part where you're back at the, you know, the Professor X's mansion. I can't remember that the school for mutants or whatever it's called. Oh, geez. I sound like a terrible fan now. So, you know,
Starting point is 00:22:27 and I know that that's like a big part of the game where it's like almost like a relationship kind of building part of the game too. But Marvel Midnight Suns, I wishlisted like instantly when I heard about it. I know that we've had some people play it and they spoke very highly of it. And it's been sitting in my backlog. for legitimately, I think, over a year. And I've never booted it up.
Starting point is 00:22:49 I've never touched it. And it's just one of those games that it's like, I have not forgotten about. I will absolutely play this game at some point. I feel like it's custom made for me. Turn-based combat, Marvel superheroes, cards is like the skills. Like, what's not to love? This is all like Josh type stuff.
Starting point is 00:23:06 And I just don't know why I've, and I got it for free. Yeah. It's like there's not even any risk, man. I don't have to be like, oh, I better refund this in two. hours if I don't like it. I think that it's just, it's a big game. I've heard that it takes a while to play. And I don't know if that's kind of what's putting me off on that. But I am still very,
Starting point is 00:23:25 very curious about this one. I think it looks great. I totally get this is not up your alley at all. But yeah, that's one that's like right at the top of my backlog for me. No, that's, that's a good one. And it does, it seems like it's like a little bit, you know, a lot of comic book Marvel stuff like lately. It's just real kind of happy, dory, campy stuff. It seems a little darker. It seems a little like there's real kind of battle to it, you know. And it's just, yeah, I think this one definitely, it's not, I'm not a turn-based guy, so it's not for me. But I think you would most like, I mean, obviously, a lot of these games we know that we would like.
Starting point is 00:24:02 It's just getting the time to play them over something else. You know, it's like weighing those odds. But because I'm not a poser like you, bro, I definitely didn't look this up. but it's the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters. There you go. I said the gifted school for people. For people, kids. I knew what it was.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Well, we don't want to, that's right. We don't want to call them mutants. So like, yeah, that's not the right thing. Yeah, we don't want to. You're genetically gifted.
Starting point is 00:24:25 There we go. That's what my mom used to say. You're genetically gifted. Oh, brother. Oh, what a good mom. Yeah, I know, right. I'm still the best lies. All right.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Well, that's, so that's, all right, that's a good one. So, for me, my next one is going to be, I'm going one, kind of another one on the darker kind of world that, man, I just don't know how I never got into this kind of realm. Like, it's not something along the lines of, I just didn't like the gameplay. I just didn't like kind of what it was or what it looked like. It was more of just, it just didn't happen. Like, oh, that's a cool game. I really want to play it and that I just never got around to playing it
Starting point is 00:25:13 and that's going to be the Monster Hunter series man Now you've never played any of them I've never played any of the Monster Hunter series And I feel like it's so like tailor made for me I love fantastical fights I love beasts I love crazy worlds amazing graphics
Starting point is 00:25:33 I feel like it has everything that I would love and it just never got around to lining up to, you know, to playing it. You know, it's just one of those things that it just didn't line up for me. And I must have been playing something else or, you know, just enthralled with some of their game or world. But, yeah, that's one that I just, yeah, I never got around to getting into that. It's now, Paul and I played Monster Hunter World. Okay. And we liked the gameplay portion of it.
Starting point is 00:26:02 I remember being like, cool, the fighting the monsters is really neat. and they're very varied. Like, they're, they're mechanics and the types of monsters that you come across and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:26:11 It was the rest of the game that I really didn't like. Like the being in town and the, again, I just kind of mentioned this, but there's cooking, there's crafting,
Starting point is 00:26:20 there's eight different weapon types, and every weapon type has a completely different move set and upgrade paths and stuff like that. And it got to be one of these games where the, unless you were actually stalking the monster and hunting it down
Starting point is 00:26:34 and trying to find it and then fighting it, the rest of the game to me was very just convoluted, complicated, and not fun at that point. Okay. Now, part of that was, you know, we play games kind of on a timer, so to speak, where it's like, hey, I've got about two weeks to dive into this game, maybe a little bit longer, depending. But I felt like that stuff kind of distracted me. The fighting the monsters part was glorious, dude.
Starting point is 00:26:58 So, and I know Monster Hunter Wilds is coming out, and people are very excited about that. And it's weird because it's like, I don't want to base the entire series off of just the one experience, some kind of with you that it's like, man, this would be fun. And it's multiplayer. Like you join your buddies in these fights. You can cut off limbs and stuff. You can target things. And then you get certain things.
Starting point is 00:27:18 If you can cut off the horn and stuff like that, you can cripple them, which is neat. So now they can't run away because a lot of times they'll flee when they're getting their butts kicked. But if you like, if you hack at their legs enough, now they're crippled and they can't run, you know, and stuff like that. So there's a lot going on with those games. It's just that like half of it really worked for me and the other half just didn't work at all. Yeah. So well, one day.
Starting point is 00:27:42 All right. So one for me, I'll be honest, I didn't even know I had this game and now I'm super excited because like this is what this episode has done to me, man. So I apparently, I'm just covering these Epic Game Store games first. But like, so apparently Epic Game Store gave away a game that I remember looking at and being like oh dude like i've been i've had my eye on this game for a while now and so i picked it up and then i completely forgot that i picked it up man and this game looks legitimately really really good that is a game called sunless skies um and so i remember looking up the the very first game
Starting point is 00:28:22 is called sunless sea um and this kind of is almost like a throwback in a way to the old like top down, like 2D action arcade type games. Like if anybody that's old enough like me to remember Star Control, it's kind of similar in that regard. But it's a top down, you were piloting a submarine through the deep, dark, creepy, creepy ocean. And it's very, very atmospheric. And I remember for the longest time, I was like, I'm going to buy this Sunly
Starting point is 00:28:50 Seas game and give it a shot. And then I just never did. Well, lo and behold, they made a sequel called Sunless Skies where instead of being in the ocean, now you're floating around. you know, in a post-apocalyptic world as like a floating train, I think. And it's like, but this game looks incredible, dude. It is one of the most atmospheric games that exist. You're seeing all kinds of creepy things.
Starting point is 00:29:15 You're floating through these really dark areas. And you just see like these kind of scary things on the peripheral part of your vision because it's foggy and it's dark. And it's like, it's almost like a horror game in a way. and I can't believe that I had this game just sitting there, man. All this time, just waiting to be played by you. I know, I know. So I'm going to read, just so people can understand,
Starting point is 00:29:39 I'm going to read the description for Sunless Skies because it's, it just sounds really neat to me. I won't read the description. It's just considered a Gothic horror role play game with a focus on exploration and exquisite storytelling. Now, the draw here is that you get to. put together a crew, but your crew is very like, just like, you know, they're not, they're not a good crew, man. Like, they all come with serious problems that are involved with them. Um, you know,
Starting point is 00:30:11 so I think they're filled with character and stuff like that there. I love exploration and discovery when it's just kind of natural in a game and the stories that those can tell too. So sunless skies, I will absolutely probably dive into this weekend just a little bit because I didn't realize I had this game and I think it looks phenomenal man it does it has that I don't know almost that um gosh it's like uh it's you know it is that top down old school look but it's like an like an alien effect to it to where it's just it feels creepy and and uh you know but you're drawn in you're sucked into it so it gives that effect to where you just want to keep playing and keep going with it it seems supremely atmospheric which I really love and I feel like I'm not sure what the gameplay is like
Starting point is 00:30:56 but I feel like this is one of those games that you probably actually remember playing just because of how unique it feels at the same time. And it seems very, I don't want to say it's super like action-based, but there's definitely enough action where you're fighting and, you know, piloting around and stuff like that
Starting point is 00:31:10 to kind of keep you on your toes too, so. Nice. Well, yeah, that's a good one. It's just, gosh, like I need to add another one to my list, you know. So this one is probably not on a lot of people's list because it's a pretty popular game and a lot of people have played it and a lot of people are going to be surprised that I have not
Starting point is 00:31:30 especially with my love of roguelikes I'm going with the Hades series man I don't know how I missed this I don't know how I never got into it but I mean I got introduced really kind of mostly into the roguelikes with you guys you and Paul playing with you guys
Starting point is 00:31:49 but man this this looks like just such an awesome game I wanted to play it I wanted to to dive in and see if I could beat Hades, because, you know, that's what we went over with, you know, Jack and stuff when we were talking about the games. And it's like, I've beat Melania, I've done all these things, but I can't beat freaking Hades, man. He's tough, dude. You know? But, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:11 So the problem is you got to spend the whole game working your way to him. Yeah. And you get one chance out. If you had one shot of one opportunity to seize everything you would. ever wanted one moment. Did you capture? Just let the sleep. It's not like Nolini where you can just fight her 400 times in a row.
Starting point is 00:32:35 If you die to Hades, you got to start over again. It's over, man. You know, like, yes, you keep your permanent progression kind of thing, but now you've got to go through all the levels all over again and work your way back to there. And so it takes a long time just to get to that fight. And I've gotten him low, but I've never killed him.
Starting point is 00:32:51 And it just aggravates me. And it's one of those things where I just, I'm a failure. And I don't like that. It's because you didn't have me. So I'm going to hop on board and we'll knock it out, buddy. Well, well, it's not multiplayer is the downside. That's why we were hyped for Sworn.
Starting point is 00:33:04 You're thinking of Sworn, which looks like Hades, but is multiplayer at that point. Yeah, that's true. That's true. Yeah, I was just, I was so excited about thinking about killing about, killing Haiti, you know. Hades is a phenomenal game, dude. Not only is the gameplay in Hades just top notch with the combat and the action, the, the, the character interaction and the fact that this game remembers everything that you've done like it when you die and you you kind of come back to the the you know your your castle or your you know the part where your Hades is and you know it's like the characters
Starting point is 00:33:34 will actually talk about it and they'll be like oh did you die to that thing again you know and stuff like that oh that's pretty cool remembers your gameplay at the same time I also happen to absolutely love Greek mythology yeah and it just plays right into all the mythology stuff man with Achilles and Hades and, you know, all the gods, Zeus and Aphrodite and all that stuff. So that's also right up my alley as far as being a nerd for that stuff too, man. Dude, Hades is top notch. All right. So here's a game that a lot of people have probably not heard of, but looks absolutely incredible. And this is another one that it's like at some point I will play this. And I have heard very, very good things about that. And again, if you have played this game, let me know what you think
Starting point is 00:34:21 of it because I really need that push to kind of just commit to play in it. But let me just start off with this. This game on Steam is sitting at a 96% overwhelmingly positive rating with over 20,000 reviews, dude. And I bet you a lot of our listeners have not heard of this game. And that is a game called Signallis. So I will actually read the Steam description on this one. So Signallis, the Steam description is a classic survival horror experience set in a dystopian future where humanity has uncovered a dark secret unravel a cosmic mystery, escape terrifying creatures, and scavenge an off-world government facility as Elster, a technician replica searching for her lost dreams. Now, before we started recording, Ryan, I said the one game that I'm going to
Starting point is 00:35:13 talk about that you probably need to watch the trailer for is this game called Signallis. And what did you think of it? I think it's like basically exactly what you described. It is, uh, it is wild looking, man. Like, it's, it's almost hard to describe what it looks like. It's, it's that weird kind of eerie creepiness, but, you know, it looks like a game that was made in like the late 80s or early 90s. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:38 With like some of the, the weird, like, graphics to it. Like, it's very, it's very art, artistic and it's styling, but it's also very dark. But it goes from like a weird, almost like, you know, like a top down third person view of the character, almost like a resonant evil in a sense, right? Like in a sense, but then it gets into like this weird like puzzle based very almost like eight bit in some of its graphics. You're trying to unlock stuff and yeah, yeah, you're turning dials and trying to interact. But you're like a replicant kind of thing. So you are a cyborg lady. It's eerie as anything.
Starting point is 00:36:16 It's dark as anything. It's very atmospheric once again, but I mean, I have heard incredible things from from people that have played Signalis on like social media and stuff where they're like, dude, this game blew my mind. I have heard people equate it to like the memory that like being as memorable as playing like through the near games. Really? They're just like, dude, there's there's like a deep, deep kind of like humanity like thinking
Starting point is 00:36:41 and how like we interact with our world and things like that. So again, I've never played it. I just know I really, really want to play this game. And if the reviews are anything and if the word of mouth is anything, I really feel like people should at least look into this. And again, if you've played it, I want to hear about it because I'm very, very interested in this game. And again, that name is Signalis.
Starting point is 00:37:04 Yeah, come and tell us. Because this, uh, I'd be interested to see what, you know, our listeners have to say if you've played it. Like, I love games that are not just copies of other things. And this game looks like it is its complete own. entity and it is like it's probably unlike a lot of other games that people have played that interests me that's for sure i mean uh most art if you will which a lot of the games you know film cinema all this stuff is is drawn off of something else or an inspiration but every once in a while
Starting point is 00:37:32 you get something that is like there's not a much like it and there there's you know they're they're not drawing off of a lot of other things and it's something just so unique and this one looks like that um maybe drawn a lot more of older older style stuff but it's it's not like anything that's coming out today so and if people needed one more thing just in the last 30 days because this came this game came out in 22 uh in the last 30 days it's actually a 97% with almost 500 reviews there's some kind of magic here man and i want a piece of that why what is what it's so good i want to eat i need to know yeah exactly that that is awesome uh so i guess i guess we're going to just continue the really good review trend um this one i'm not sure if you had played this i know
Starting point is 00:38:20 a ton of people in our discord did um i believe you did but it's the game uh by the name of dredge oh dude dredge is fantastic dude so i thought you did i couldn't remember if it was just paul or if it was you too but um i know a ton of people in the discord did i know a ton of other people that we've talked to have as well he did a review in 60 seconds that's right yeah he did so this maybe that's just subconscious and why it popped into my head when we were going over this because I have it and I need to play it
Starting point is 00:38:49 and I love I mean just again I am so driven by a really good atmosphere and this has that it has it absolutely it has it in spades man so having that
Starting point is 00:39:05 ability to just kind of fall into that world to where you get lost and you are just going to go play this game and do your you know whatever you need to do and captain your boat um that that's something that calls to me so i i just you know we get we get so lost in all these other games or we'll get hooked on something else and then these other ones fall by the wayside and you're just missing a gym that that will you know float on by and be gone forever if you don't go back and get it before it's too old you know you don't want to go back and your your backlog and hop into a game that's
Starting point is 00:39:38 15, 20 years old, you know, it's, it's going to be not the same reaction that you otherwise would have had kind of closer to its release. So, you know, I definitely want to check this one out sooner than later, because I've heard nothing but amazing things. Dredge is one of those games that's so easy to play. Yes. Like, it really, and we all need that, right? I mean, I legitimately, like, I haven't played King and Come Deliverance in the last three nights because I've been just working a ton and we've been doing podcast stuff. And it's like, I sit down and I go, okay, I have like 40 minutes at most to play some video games right now and like kingdom come as you know as impressive as it is is it's like it takes a little while to get going i have to think about what i'm doing so
Starting point is 00:40:19 that i'll accidentally rob somebody or sleep in somebody's bed and get myself killed and lose an hour of game time or something like that so we all need those games that are just easy to play right like and dredge is just absolutely one of those games you're you're fishing you're upgrading your boat. So the progression is just, it's, it's honestly almost perfection in the way that you get progression and you can upgrade your boat. Yeah, I do. I mean, I really am, but it's like, you know, you can get faster motors and you can get bigger nets and you can get, you know, all kinds of things, right? Like bigger fuel tanks, so you can stay out longer and things like that. And so that gameplay loop alone is something. The fishing is enjoyable. The exploration is great. The fact that it's very
Starting point is 00:40:59 atmospheric and there is something creepy going on, like you don't want to be out at night, but you kind of want to be out at night because you're like, dude, what if I just stay out? Like, what happens? And then you find out what happens. Oh, that's what happens. There is a reason, there is a reason that Dredge like kind of took the world by storm for a little while. And I think people played it. And then people went, dude, it's a great game. Like, it's not a groundbreaking, you know, it's just one of those super enjoyable experiences. Yeah. And it's cheap. It's easy. You can play it in probably three or four days if you really get into it. And then you're just done with it. But yeah, Dredge is a must play, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:41:35 Heck yeah, man. That's one of those when it's like, okay, you know, indie games, off the charts, like nothing. This isn't like crazy AAA game. It's going to be something that's cheap and just an awesome good time, you know, for everybody. So, yeah, it'll be one that I'm going to hit up very, very soon. Yeah. All right. This next one for me is a game that I was insanely excited for, but we're going to tease it.
Starting point is 00:42:01 And we're going to take one more break real quick, right? all right we're back i like these little pre-break teases man i don't ask me why you know it's probably because it's my little bit of a troll side yeah it's a little bit all right so i was a huge fan of vermin tide and then vermin tide too i think slaughtering hordes and hordes of rats with your buddies and getting into these situations where it feels like defeat is eminent and then somehow surviving and then like just that that adrenaline rush and the oh my gosh i can't believe we pulled through that i absolutely loved vermin tied to i thought it was a ton of fun the warhammer universe i'll be honest i'm not a warhammer guy but i like it
Starting point is 00:42:43 i just am not super into the lore like i know some people are but dude sci-fi fantasy dark mix i love that stuff my brain instantly is just drawn to that and so they came out and they said hey you know what vermin tied to went really good we are announcing warhammer 40k dark tide. And I went, oh, my gosh, guys. Like, they're making another one. And this one's not just melee weapons. You get guns and you can be the big ogre guy and you can be these different classes and all that. I remember being super excited. And then they started letting people play it in kind of early access or playtest. And the response was not good. And I remember going like, no, no, this is like the perfect game for like three or four friends to hop into. And I,
Starting point is 00:43:32 I have been keeping my eye on Darktide for the last two or three years. And sadly, it's one of those things where I have not heard a lot of good things about it. They actually, the developer even came out and said, listen, we're sorry, man. We get it. Like, it's not jiving with people. So we're going to fix it. And in the last thing I checked, Darktide, it seemed like they had fixed a lot of the stuff that was going on there. And it just looks like a really good time to me.
Starting point is 00:44:02 that like gear and progression and some of that stuff was really a lot of the stuff that like people were complaining about the gameplay always seemed to be a lot of fun but it was just the like why do I continue to play this because that there's just not a lot there so I think it's in a good place I don't know that for a fact maybe it's just my optimism for like wanting a fun game to play with people yeah but you know this is one where I'm curious so if you have played dark tide and you think it's good let me know if it's like one of those things where it's like dude as cool as it looked, you should probably just stay away. Let me know too, so I don't make the mistake of syncing a bunch of time into it. Um, but yeah, this is, it just ticks all the boxes
Starting point is 00:44:42 for me. You know, fun with buddies, slaying hordes and hordes of stuff. Really cool atmosphere because I, you know, I like that kind of stuff. Um, I just worry, you know, and the, and the problem is is that right now it's sitting at a 70% on Steam with 80, we'll just call it 88,000 reviews. Okay. So it's like, yeah but in the last 30 days it's sitting at an 80% with 900 reviews so it's like is it getting better I feel like the thing is um you know the ability to play with friends forgives a lot of it forgives a lot of sins in a game man like you there you can forgive a lot of things and then you can even laugh about them together like did you see what happened with this and oh my gosh this glitch happened or that thing happened and or how ridiculous that
Starting point is 00:45:32 was like it almost enhances the effect of it you obviously want a game to run you know the best it can but um yeah the ability to play together it uh it negates a lot of those issues so man that would uh and so so in this one you kill rats no that's vermin time this one i don't know i think you fight like various factions in the warhammer universe which i think is what a lot of people loved vermin tide you only fought the rats right i was going to say jack's going to be upset with us man like Oh, I know. We just, we were touting up all the rats.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Whatever, they were slaughtering rats. Arlo is a super rat. He's the, he's the bomb. And then all of a sudden, Josh is in here just, I'm killing all the rats. Yeah. So it's one of those games, Dark Tide, I've just always been curious about. And I think I will, you know, so. Cool.
Starting point is 00:46:20 No, that's, that's a good one. It's, yeah. Well, like I said, man, the ability to play online with people is, uh, is something else. Yeah. This one, uh, I don't know about. like future ability to play online with people but in the past you haven't been able to and it's been a legendary game that i have never touched and that one goes by the name of elden ring oh dude you are missing i know now listen let hear me out okay i played bloodborne and i did not
Starting point is 00:46:54 like bloodborne i played a lot of bloodborne and i really really wanted to like it and i said all I do is I run through the same spot and I roll around and I slash and hit and punch this guy and then take potions and do whatever and then go to the next one. And it's just the same thing over and over and over. And I just, after that, I said, I don't like Soulslakes. I don't want to play them anymore. I don't care to play them. I don't even want to spend my time doing them. Everyone says how hard and crazy they are. I don't like fighting a boss 400 times anyways. I'm not even going to waste my time. Having said that, I very, very, very much like medieval, fantastical worlds with armor and soldiers and big swords and awesome fantastical attacks and crazy enemies. And I feel like I just have to buckle up and give it a shot just to see. Give it a good 15, 20 hours to get in, learn the mechanics. I won't give five hours and be like, eh, it's not for me. I'll give it a good honest try. And, uh, and see. if I can really kind of, you know, almost like, you know, when you're, when you're, you know, to our younger audience, don't do this. But when you're a kid and you try a beer and you're like,
Starting point is 00:48:08 this is horrible. And they call it an acquired taste for a reason. And then you're 35 and you're like, oh, beer's the best thing ever. I don't drink anymore. Just doesn't really drink either. So we don't, you know, don't drink is what I'm saying. Beer is gross to me still. Yeah, exactly. I never acquired that taste. But I'm wondering if it's in a taste that I can acquire. It's something that I can be like, okay, I think it is. I really am starting, this is starting to grow on me. And I feel like the nuts and bolts are there to where it's not like you're going
Starting point is 00:48:38 to have to convince me because like, it's like, hey, man, but what about this? What about that? It's, it's an amazing game that's just not built for me, but maybe I can and play it and develop that taste for that game. You know how people say, hey, have you played Red Dead 2, right? have you played cyberpunk 2077 have you played god of war have you played you know and people talk about the greats dude elden ring is in that conversation those are all those are all those action RPGs i mean but that's what elding is but no no because every elton ring is it is i'm telling
Starting point is 00:49:14 i guess i can't i can't truly speak on it because i haven't played it i know but i will say that i have played souls game and it looks exactly like bloodborne and see here's the here's the thing. I never, I never played Bloodborn, right? I've played Sekiro. I've played every single Dark Souls game that is out there, right? I never played Bloodborn. I don't know that I would like Bloodborn. Like legitimately, as much as I like the Dark Souls games, I have heard that Bloodborn is super hard and super frustrating. And while it may have some really good mechanics to it, I have heard a lot of people say, dude, Bloodborn just wasn't for me. Yeah. You know, and it's one of those things where there is no game.
Starting point is 00:49:55 in the world like Eldon Ring. And I get that there's a lot of people that just go, well, it's just a bigger Souls like game, but it's not. The open world that exists in Eldon Ring is second to none, dude. And yes, you know, you have to be okay with fighting a boss maybe, you know, 20 times. But the thing with Eldon Ring,
Starting point is 00:50:15 the beauty of it is, and this is where I think Bloodborn goes wrong, is if you fight a boss 15 times and you never get him to half health, just go away. Yeah. Like legitimately just go away because you, can do that so easily you are not locked into like you have to just slam your head against this
Starting point is 00:50:31 fight if you if you're not getting anywhere just go away go explore you will find so many incredible fantastical things that it's not like you don't feel like you're grinding you don't feel like it's just it's incredible but that's but that's what i did with like i mean i i fought all the valkyries on god of war with uh you know on on on mega hard difficulty whatever it was and i enjoyed it because i was so drawn into the story and the characters like elden ring but that's the thing is there's no story in Eldon Ring, right? Like, there is. Okay, there is,
Starting point is 00:50:59 but you have to, you have to dig two tomes and like find all the stuff. I get it. I get it. And it's confusing. But the story in Eldon Ring is the is, is your gameplay like your gameplay where you're like, what the heck is that over there?
Starting point is 00:51:13 I'm the story. You are the story. Yes. Like the fact that you're wandering around and you find some little cave and you're like, dude, what's that over there? Yeah. And you go in and it's a giant dungeon.
Starting point is 00:51:22 And it's like you could have walked past that. I'd never seen it, man. You know, it's just, there's nothing like it, dude. There's nothing like it. I knew I'd get you hyped up for this one. Oh, dang it. You did this all purpose, Ryan. I knew it.
Starting point is 00:51:34 I genuinely, though, I do. I will, this year, I'll hear me now. I will give it a try this year. It will be a game that I will play, and I'll put a good 15, 20 hours to test it. The seamless co-op is top-notch now. They have a mod where you can play with friends, and it used to suck, but it's almost seamless. It's like the game was almost made to just be.
Starting point is 00:51:55 played with somebody else at this point. Would it help you to have a buddy playing with you? 10,000 percent. Okay. Well, I will play with you. The only problem is that I don't want to wreck everything. So I might hold back a little bit. But if it gets you to play Eldon Ring dude and get hooked in it, like I'll jump in with you in a heartbeat, dude. All right. That's fine. I freaking love Eldon Ring. All right. You heard it here, folks. We're going to play together. Oh, man. Oh, I love it, dude. All right. Listen, we're running a little low on time. So I'm going to speed this up a little bit. I dove into this game for a little while. So, you know, there are some games where it's like, hey, I dabbled in this when I bought it and then I got busy doing something else, but I really
Starting point is 00:52:33 want to kind of go back and play more. There is a game out there that is one of the best space games that I think I've experienced in a really long time. It has some of the best visuals I have seen in a space game. It has some of the best combat I have seen in a space game. And it is like a giant space RPG where your ship is your character and you can get all kinds of upgrades to this thing. If you want lightning guns, you can get lightning guns. If you want different types of ships where you're like a little ship that can cloak and avoid enemies or you want to go with a big bruiser ship that's got turrets on it, you can do that. It lets you fly on planets. So it's not just outer space. You can actually kind of cruise through planets and even in dungeons in planets.
Starting point is 00:53:18 It's like, I'm telling you, this game has it all. And that is a game called Everspace 2. I played the initial Everspace, which is a roguelike game, and I fell in love with it. And then they came out and they said, listen, we want to take everything we learn from everspace and we want to turn it into this gigantic space RPG that just is almost hundreds of hours with how much content you have. And I remember tracking the development. I bought it on release and I played it.
Starting point is 00:53:47 this game is something else, man. I cannot encourage people enough that like this kind of game to look at Everspace 2. If the trailers don't draw you in because this game is gorgeous, I don't know what else does, but man, I'm telling you the upgrade pass, the fact that you can go on planets,
Starting point is 00:54:03 the storylines involved, you meet people. It's just fantastic, dude. This is one of those games I really, really want to get back into because I think this is just one of those hidden gems, man. that's it's it's always weird to see uh you know when especially even us when games just kind of go by the wayside when we're so involved in the gaming world i know like thinking of how many
Starting point is 00:54:29 other people haven't seen these games and it can be just such an awesome masterpiece and it just kind of falls by everyone so man there yeah there's so many out there and that's why we love doing these like you know what's your backlog what are you looking for and then people will come up with the game that you've never even heard of and you look it up and you're like, whoa, that, that looks really cool and you try it out and you love it. So, you know, that's, that's a cool part about this. But, um, man, yeah, there's, there's so many I want to play. Just watch the trailer for Everspace, too. It was an indie developer. They're small. I don't know how they made this game look so beautiful. Number one, you guys know I love good graphics and stuff. The combat in this
Starting point is 00:55:04 game, I have never seen a space game that can be played so well with mouse and keyboard. Yeah. Like, a lot of people think you need a joystick or something like that. I played Everspace 2 with mouse and keyboard. I've never seen a game that nailed the controls like, like Everspace 2 did with that. Because it's like, who can fly with a mouse, dude? That's really weird. You're picking it up and you're slamming it down and, you know, trying to like move it over and over and over again. Just so you can keep like going in one direction.
Starting point is 00:55:29 And it's like they just, they just nailed it. Dog fighting. Yeah, Doc fighting is a little weird with a mouse for sure. Yeah. All right. What else you got, Ryan? Let's hit a couple quick hitters here. For sure.
Starting point is 00:55:37 I'm going to go with one that, man, this, uh, I don't know if it's a, if it's a full on backlog game, but it's one that I, I, I've dabbled in very, very slightly, but I, I want to actually dive into. This is another multiplayer that, that, uh, maybe, maybe, maybe, exactly. And I, and I know you personally, I have seen the, the, the text where you said, I'm getting the itch again, and that's rust. Oh, yeah, oh, yeah, let's do it. I'll do it right now, man. I don't know what it is i got sucked into the algorithm but dude i i am in the rest algorithm where i'm watching this dude that that gets into these rp servers and he just baits people into his base and he traps them and i'm like oh yeah that looks so fun like everything about it looks so amazing they get so mad
Starting point is 00:56:22 not to say that we would do that you know we're kind to all gamers oh we would absolutely do that okay okay that's the beauty of rust man i can't oh my goodness dude right if you told me i'm installing Rust right now, I absolutely guarantee you I would be installing it and we would be playing 18% within moments. 24%. Don't do that to me, man. I'm a weak man. I will do it. Who cares about a vowed? Who cares about Kingdom Come deliverance? Rust. We're on Russ, baby. Oh, man. We're going to round up Paul's Russ character again. Oh my gosh. Okay. So we're not going to have time to get to these, but I did have games that I really want to dive back into soon on my list. And I'm just just going to say, like I have three. I have Baldersgate three. Yeah. I have the apocalypse run on Remnant
Starting point is 00:57:08 two because it's the hardest level. And I literally have Rust. And I, it would not, it would take very, very little to get me back into Rust right now, man. I've kind of had the itch. All right. So Elden Ring and Russ. That's, that's the rest of our year. Oh my goodness, man. And the fact that you've never played Rust is the best. Like, I need you to know like the joys and the, oh my gosh, this is the best thing ever. We just trick that dude and robbed his base. But then you're going to know the heartbreak of the, oh, I freaking hate this game, man. Like, this is the worst. I love it.
Starting point is 00:57:40 I'm in. I am full in for the major disappointment and the major joys. Oh, man. All right. I mean, the only other one on my list, which fire, it's one of those games. I bought the early access. I think it's a fantastic game. I have not checked it out in probably six months.
Starting point is 00:57:56 I've heard it's come a long way and they're ready to do the full release. I think Witchfire is a top-notch fun game. It is Dark Souls with guns. It is a rogue-like where you get kind of stronger and stronger. But the gunplay and just the gameplay in Witchfire is fantastic. So I highly recommend people check that out. And then the only other one on my actual backlog was a Plague Tale Innocence. I think these games are very story-based.
Starting point is 00:58:19 They have some gameplay, but I've kind of heard the gameplay can, that's like the breaking point for people. Like if you don't like the gameplay part, you probably still like the story part. but I've never played any of the Plagetail games. And I know Plagetail Requiem came out, I think, last year and kind of got a lot of praise from people there too. So, yeah, that's it for me for my backlog games also. So, dude, okay, one last question, Ryan, out of all the games you talked about, what's the one that is at the top of your list, that you were like, dude, if I was going to install
Starting point is 00:58:50 one of these right now and I knew that I didn't have any other games to play, I would play this one. I would, I, and why is it Eldon Ring? dude the okay man it's honestly it's between elden ring and rust is like yeah because let's go because because the thought of actually like I mean elder ring on its own merits would be an amazing game to try and test out I'm sure I'll eventually learn to love it and uh but the the thought of playing with someone else we're chatting we're going over oh let's check out this you know and then we can explore together
Starting point is 00:59:25 like that that would be really cool and that's that's a draw for me because i love i a lot of my old friends like even when i used to play destiny they don't play with no mics i'm like bro turn on your mic like what are you afraid of let's talk like so so hanging out and talking and playing games is a big draw the thought of us playing russ and like maybe bringing in uh paul back on board and then like you know ace or john or somebody else coming in and we just get fully in you can have any number of people dude because you can have a clan of like 20 people dude We could own the server. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:56 Bring in the Discord. VGP's coming in. We're going to take over this server and, uh, and, like, make a, you know, a rust freaking powerhouse. Like that, that, uh, gets me excited as well. So, but also then we have freaking, darn you, Ryan. Darn you, man. Why are you doing this to me?
Starting point is 01:00:13 This is why we have backlogs because there's so many games to play. Uh, I was having that rust itch, man. I know. I saw you say that. Now it's a rash, buddy. There's a cream for that, I think. Oh, my goodness, man. Dang it.
Starting point is 01:00:29 All right. Well, this is, like you said, dude, this is the joy of backlog games. Listen, if you have a backlog of games and there are games on your backlog that you're like, man, this is one I need to play. Or you want to tempt us into starting a Rust server, getting a clan going. It probably wouldn't take much at this point. But come tell us, we have the best gaming community out there. We say it almost every episode.
Starting point is 01:00:52 At some point, we need to put together. like a list of the people that were like, you know, I heard you guys talking about this all the time and oh my goodness, you're right. Like I found my home. You know, that kind of stuff is ridiculous, man. So we really just want that to grow. We want awesome people. We want gamers that aren't toxic. We don't want people that are arguing over politics and things like that. So if you're that kind of person and you want other awesome gamers to interact with, boy, do we have the place for you. And if you are one of those awesome gamers, we want you there as well. The link is in the episode. episode description. It's free to join come hang out with us. I think we're almost up to like
Starting point is 01:01:28 a thousand gamers now, dude. So this is not the guy that has four people in his Discord server and it gets really awkward because you join and then you're kind of like, now I got to leave and they're going to see me leave. So give it a shot. That's all we're saying. And then come share what your backlog of games is as well. I didn't answer the question, Ryan. So I'm going to answer that real quick. Sunless Skies is I think that's the game I actually will wind up dabbling. into very, very soon. That, no, that, that looked, that looks pretty cool. I need to see what it is.
Starting point is 01:02:00 It might be nothing, but it might be something for me. So I think that's the one I'm actually going to wind up installing here. So, yeah, that's it for this episode. Listen, if you've been enjoying the podcast, make sure you rate us five stars on Spotify. If you're on Apple, leave us a review. And we will read it on the show at some point. And, you know, if you've been listening to this podcast for a little while, if you love what we've been doing and you go, you know what, man, I'm in, boys.
Starting point is 01:02:23 think about supporting the show. It really does help us out. It is the reason that we are able to continue doing this after like four years. We're trying to up our game. We're bringing you an extra episode every week. We're about to start bringing you video due to popular demand. I mean, we've got a ton of upgrades that we're doing. But we need your support. Honestly, we need it to kind of keep being able to raise this thing up to the next level. And you can support us over at Multiplayer Squad.com for as little as five bucks a month. But honestly, every single supporter matters. So, you know, take a second to think about doing that
Starting point is 01:02:57 because it really does help. So that is it for this episode. I'm going to install Sunless Skies. Don't make me install Rust, Ryan. Don't do a team, man. But also I would love, I would love to do that. 92%. We'll see you guys later.
Starting point is 01:03:13 Until next time, happy gaming. See ya. Thank you.
