Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the video gamers podcast.
Gamescom gave us a look at a ton of games.
But how do you filter through the noise?
Which games stood out and which need to be on your radar?
We're going to break down the games that stood out the most to us, discuss the trailers,
reveals and more
but first some introductions
are in order
I am your host Josh
and joining me
he's never abandoned me to go hunting
for five days he's the guy I've been
grinding abysses with
the support player extraordinaire
the indie master
the man the myth
the legend
it's ace
I would like to say that I'm
still here baby
I'm still standing
Better than everything
I like Ryan
Every picture we get is him just laying on the ground in the woods
It's like bro
Could you be any more lazy
And also
Ryan ain't shot nothing
We ain't got no deer
What's that about?
Who goes hunting and doesn't send you a picture
What a hunter goes hunting
And I would also like to say
Since we were trolling Ryan in his absence
I made the comment this morning
Because he got cell phones
Like service for like five minutes
And I was like, dude, are you ever actually going to kill anything on these hunts?
And he was like, whoa, he sent two pictures.
And I'm like, yeah, both these photos are old.
They're from years past.
I thought that was real funny.
You calling him out for a photo that's like two years old.
Oh, yeah, I did.
So Ryan apparently tries to go hunting and then doesn't actually get anything either.
It could be that he's probably really loud, you know?
You know, that might be part of it.
It's kind of hard to sneak up on people when you're yelling.
So, why am I not playing video games?
Yeah, I know.
so but here we are sans ryan we love you ryan we hope you're having fun but also please kill
something so we can get some venison because it's delicious at the same time and if you don't
we're just going to troll you when you get back to so uh all right ace we have a lot i mean
a lot of games to talk about you ain't kidding brother we're going to try to kind of blitz this
and not get bogged down in talking too much but anybody that's been listening to us for a while is
going to know that's probably going to be a giant failure since we love talking about these.
But before we get into that, we have not one but two amazing new supporters to thank for the show.
First up, we've got the Macadonian Lion, which I think is a play on the Macedonian Lion.
So I'm going to say it the way you spelled it, which is Macadonian Lion.
Macadonian?
Macadamian?
Macadamia.
Macadena cookies.
I know.
Macedonia Lion in the community, which is awesome.
I have had many a DM with them when they were playing Expedition 33.
And they were like, I need somebody to talk to.
And I'm like, I got you.
I got you.
Just come on, come on into the DMs and let's talk about it.
The shoulder to cry on.
Yeah.
And then the next one, we have Skyteros.
Ooh, I like that name.
I think, I don't know Skyteros is in our Discord server or not.
If they are, it's under a different handle there.
But Skyteros, we see you.
We appreciate you.
Thank you for supporting the show as well.
Thank you to both of you.
If you've been listening to this podcast for a little while and you're like, man, I love the days that VideoGamer's podcast releases some episodes.
You guys make my commute better.
You make my gym session better.
You know, take a second.
Think about all these people that are supporting this podcast and you're not one of them.
Oh.
You'll be left out
All these other people where you're like
Yeah, everybody else will sign up
And support these guys.
No, we're looking at you
Because you've been listening for a long time
And you've never taken the two minutes
To go sign up and support this podcast.
Shame on you.
Shame.
Shame on you.
After all the blood, sweat, and tears
We've given you over the years
And you can't click a link
That's in this episode description
And spend two minutes to sign you.
And, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm just a poor gamer.
I don't, it's only $5.5.
It's $5.
$5.00.
You get the best gaming show on the planet.
Yeah.
You're doing, you're, like, doing good for humanity at this point, people.
Public service.
You could write it off his charity, possibly.
Let's, let's, let's see if this guilt trip worked, Ace, let's, that might be a new tactic.
New tactic, new tactic.
Appreciation.
one hand to guilt on the other.
It worked with my mother.
I sure will work here. I was going to say
this absolutely works some
of the time. What could go wrong, right?
Oh, man.
I love doing this show, dude.
It's so fun. It really is.
All right, Ace. And you know why I love
doing this show so much, buddy? Because we get
to talk about some incredible games.
Yes, we do. Look, we're just going to
talk about it. Silk Song.
Wow! Yeah, dude, I can't.
It still doesn't feel real. We have
release date to wing we have a release date it's like a week dude it's it's it's unreal this is unreal
like who could have expected this outcome from them announcing it's coming out this year to it's coming
out in two weeks to we're a week away like oh it it is bananas man like honestly our discord
erupted it did it did and i have to say this like i i know we
around about it hasn't been real and it's one of those things but i actually like the fact that
they did this like you don't need a six-month lead up to silk song to try to build up hype for this
i love the fact that it was like boom games con hey we did call that there was going to be a demo what
we didn't call was the game releasing in two weeks from gamescom as much as we troll ryan i do
have to point out that ryan did say way way back when in the bold predictions episode that
Silk Song was going to release on Halloween and Ryan he was close I think the bull tank was that
was going to be that early which a lot of people are like no it's not going to really it was
earlier than Halloween so Ryan we're going to give you a little bit of credit for at least a
semi accurate kind of semi accurate prediction you know yeah a bad fortune teller but a fortune
teller I don't look the hype level for Silk Song is through the roof if you have not played
hollow night you are missing out like I
play hollow night it is everyone's playing it right now i'm not a huge fan i'm not a huge fan of
metroids i like some of them i can really appreciate them i tend to get lost i tend to kind of flounder a
little bit but my goodness when one hits it hits really really good and hollow night is one of the
top ones out there it's one of a kind so it really is it's beautiful in so many ways and then we're
getting silk song i don't want to spend forever on silk song because it's like what can we say
I mean, I do. Don't get me wrong.
But it's like, but the entire world is going to be playing Silk Song.
Silk Song is the most, the number one wish listed game on Steam people.
I don't know if people realize that, right?
Because we do have a lot of listeners that haven't played Hollow Night and maybe they're not into Metroidvania's.
And it's like, dude, I get it.
That's completely okay.
But if you're trying to wrap your head around the hype that is Silk Song, it is the number one most wishlisted game.
on steam and it's absurd like it is an absurd amount of wish list i don't have the number
in front of me but i remember it being ridiculous i don't have it in front of me it's astronomical
i don't see this i i i can't see a world where this game flops i can't see a world where this
game's not incredible i i like did you hear the reason it took so long it's no is there a reason
it's because they didn't want to rush through this and hire a big team they wanted to
work on this as friends and as a group and get it done at their own pace.
Good.
For the love of this game.
I love that.
I love that, dude, because you know what that says?
We just, we're putting our heart and souls into this.
It is built with passion.
We don't want to mess it up.
I do remember, like, two years ago seeing an article that they basically said, look,
everything is writing on this.
People expect the world out of us.
We're under immense pressure.
I would not want to be in their place, dude.
I don't want to be team cherry.
I, like, after they make billions of dollars with this, like, I do want to be
their place but the pressure to follow up a game like hollow night with a game that is so hype
like silk song has got to be just crushing dude you know it and it's like i'd love the fact that
they basically just said we need to make we need to make sure we get this right we have seen
demos at this point we have seen gameplay we've seen a dozen articles about hey i got to play
at a gamescom and stuff like that everything is insanely favorable to this i don't see how silk
song can go wrong so ready just i am i i i said
this like two episodes ago that I've been holding off on a Metroidvania because I really,
really am starting to get in the mood for one. And Silk Song just looks so good, dude. The platforming
elements, the combat elements, the controls, the artwork, the music. This is going to be
a freaking absolute peak game, dude. Like, I would bet anything on it. Yeah. I'm just curious
if it's going to push anything out of game of the year now. If it's that, if it's going to be that good.
You know, Ace, I don't like you for this because you mentioned this the other day.
And you were like, Expedition 33 actually has competition for like game of the year and especially indie game of the year.
I, I'm going to stay firmly in the camp that I think Expedition 33 deserves this.
This is no slander to Silk Song, dude, none.
I think Silk Song's going to be a game for the ages.
Like legitimately, I really do.
It would amaze me if people aren't just super impressed with Silk Song.
but Silk Song is a sequel to a game
They kind of had the template already
People just want more
I won't say the same
But even if they gave us more the same
That's a win
But Expedition 33
Is just one of the most memorable games
To release in a really long time
I you know how they
You know how they ask guys like Ace
When's the last time you thought about the great Roman Empire
Every day
Okay but this like took the internet
Yeah I legitimately dude
I think about
at least for a second or two, I legitimately think about Expedition 33 almost every single day.
Okay, that's the testament.
Yeah.
It has replaced me pondering the Great Roman Empire on a daily basis, and that has been replaced by Expedition 33.
Now, maybe it's just a few seconds of like, oh, I should put this song on, or do you remember that part in the game?
Or I wonder how so-and-so's playthrough is going.
But it is like legitimately almost a daily occurrence.
So I'm a little sad, but this is also a good place to be.
because I won Expedition 33 to get game of the year.
But at the same time, man, Silk Song, I wouldn't want to go up against that either.
No.
We'll see.
I mean, people are already pulling back their release dates because of Silk Song.
So I definitely don't want to go up against Silk Song.
Dude, that's smart, in my opinion, as well.
But look, we can talk about Silk Song all day.
We were absolutely going to deep dive this game.
We are pushing Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater out of the.
And Ryan was not happy about this, man.
And like A's and I both when they revealed the release date, September 4th, we went, bro, we're not playing Metal Gear Solid right now.
And Ryan was like, what do you mean?
He was so mad.
It's freaking Silk Song, dude.
Like, I don't care how excited we were for Metal Gear Solid.
We're not, we're not playing that right before Silk Song comes out.
And Ryan's like, all right.
I guess that makes sense.
Yeah.
Sorry, buddy.
What more can we say about that?
So, yes, the hype level is through the roof.
I cannot wait to play this.
I already told my family, I got this game coming out, that that whole like four-day stretch
from Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday is going to be just straight gaming.
And at this point, thankfully, my family was like, okay, we get it.
All right, Ace, let's move on.
Another game, I am actually really excited about this one.
We have brought this up before, but we did get some gameplay footage in another trailer
for a game called Toxic Commando.
The full title is John Carpenter's because we've got to give him his credit.
it. John Carpenter's Toxic Commando. What did you think about this?
First thoughts, just looking at it, was like, this looks like chaotic fun, like helldivers.
Oh, yeah. It was like a helldivers left for dead kind of mixture to me. I was just like, oh, boy, we're going to kill each other a lot in this.
Yeah. Yeah. It stands out, though, with the vehicles and the sort of cooperation I saw in the trailer, at least.
How would you describe this game to somebody? I mean, there's a lot of people that,
don't even know what the Hectoxic Commando is.
So, I mean, how would you describe it in a nutshell?
80s punk, you know, first person shooter, horde shooter with friends.
I mean, I don't know if friends are required, but I'd assume it's way better with friends.
It's cute towards friends.
Yeah, it's way better with.
And if it's not, you should find some friends to play with.
I think that, I think you, you kind of said it.
This game looks very similar to hell divers to, uh, in a first person view with,
instead of fighting aliens, you're fighting zombie hordes.
Um, it is over the top.
it looks like it is insanely fun um it's been in development for a long time now at radio silent
for several years um i do know that there is a closed beta going on uh i do know that there's our
invitation i know right well i i can't remember if i applied to that one or not i don't i think i'm
meant to and then i didn't well there we go we do know some people that are in the beta and have
spoken very highly about it now it's a closed beta so they're not supposed to say anything so you know
have a source um but everything i have heard is bro this game is insanely fun it with friends
it is an absolute blast there is progression there are special abilities there are vehicles it's a
zombie horde shooter and like this open world type area um missions all that stuff this game looks
like it's made for me chaos zombies dumb fun co-op gameplay explosions vehicles what more could you
possibly ask for. That basically sounds like a game that was tailored to you exactly.
Yeah. Yeah. Thank you, John Carpenter. I can't wait. And the other thing is this game is
beautiful, dude. Oh yeah. The graphics are stunning. This is a cutting edge game. Like, this is not
some old left for dead clone that, you know, is trying to be something. I mean, this game looks like
it is ready to release in 2025 with all the modern stuff, man. It looks incredible. I think I told you,
this is what Back for Blood wishes it was.
I'd love that you said that because I got really excited for Back for Blood
and then played the beta or the demo or whatever
and then fell off instantly on that.
But Toxic Commando absolutely looks like,
this is a must-buy game for me.
Like, honestly, from what I have seen,
unless this game just releases fully broken,
this one is an absolute must-buy.
It is going to rank up there on the fun level for me
with like Hell Divers 2, Battlefield,
six um you know this one i can't wait to play with friends man dude we're gonna have some
crazy good game nights on this game i can already tell yeah four player co-op i i mean yeah just
watch a trailer if the trailer doesn't do it for you and i don't know this just isn't your
kind of game it's just not your thing right all right i'll tell you what we got a lot more to
cover but let's take a real quick break and then we're going to come back and we're going to talk
about a couple games you may not have heard of that look really good

The Conjuring Last Rights
On September 5th
I come down here with you in your house
Array!
Hooray!
Hooray!
Array!
The Conjuring, last rites,
only in theater September 5th.
all right we're back
a resident evil requiem
yes dude this this looks incredible to me
um i mean we got a lot of gameplay footage on this one what did you think on this
at first i first thing i want to say i love resonable
reason evil is one of my favorite franchises however the
the most recent resonable eight they kind of took a lot of the horror out of it
it was way more action it was way more you know that
fair geared towards that i would say i wasn't very scared in resident evil eight except for like the doll
house part like that part that part scary that was creepy more creepy than horror yes but yeah
however in requiem we're back baby we are back to that creepy horror unsettling aesthetic that
resident evil is so good at pulling off like uh it wasn't really shown in the gameplay trailer because
the gameplay trailer was follow mom
which
yeah why did you choose that to show for your gameplay
in the official trailer
I don't know man
well what was that about but
but if you watch the actual like there's a demo
that I guess they were playing at games con
if you watch that you get to see the new stalker
enemy yeah I've never been
more scared of my life
that thing is crazy looking
I it's interesting to me
because I like action but this
but I'm with you on this kind of return
to the stalker format.
I like a balance of action and horror in Resident Evil.
Yeah.
And it's interesting to me because this does go back to the roots of Resident Evil.
But at the same time, this game looks incredible.
This demo that we saw, you know, it was kind of interesting because you're in this like just house, this big mansion.
Yeah.
And it's very confined and you're trying to hide in rooms.
And this is, we've seen this before, right?
Something's chasing you, go into a room, hide in a.
cabinet hope that it doesn't see you very alien isolation ish uh in that regard and then somebody
said something where it was like you know capcom is known for like misdirecting people or just
giving you this snippet of something that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual game itself
like this just gives you a glimpse into some of the mechanics of the game but it is not actually
pulled from the game and i was kind of like hmm i could see them doing that but even if they didn't
this is capturing that something is chasing you it is very difficult to get away the tension level
is high when it shows up and you are in danger you are going to freak out and scream and run for
your life and and you're going to have that fear and that terror my only my only concern and
this is very minimal concern because i think this game looks fantastic is i do worry that
they're going to go a little bit too far into the stalker where it's just like this
slow-paced.
Like, alien isolation is fantastic, but it is also very slow and intentional because you never
know when the alien is going to show up.
And so it's like, I do want some of that Resident Evil action elements to it.
So I don't want this to just be like a complicated game of hide and seek, you know, with a
resonant evil name on it.
My guess is the stalker is just going to be like the first part of the level because
they promised a return to Raccoon City, not a single building in Raccoon City.
Right.
So I'm expecting like the stalker is going to be a.
problem that comes up every now and then kind of like nemesis or uh mr x he's behind me
on the shelf you can't see him uh we're in resident evil two and three but i'm also kind of like
very interested in seeing how the ai of the stalker works because they mentioned like this
this stalker will break hiding spots like if you go to the same hiding spot too many times
she'll just smash the table you were hiding under i like that she could climb up into
the ceiling too. That was creepy as all get out. And then drop down on you like this is this is a good
man. I have no worries that Requiem is going to be fantastic dude. Like I really enjoyed the last
few entries into the Resident Evil series. Village I thought was great. You know,
not to count the Resident Evil 4 remake, which was fantastic. So we'll absolutely be picking up and
playing Requiem when that comes out. Yes. Yes. All right, dude, we promised two games that maybe
people haven't heard of. And man, both of these absolutely.
bangers and this one
I'd never heard of this one until you showed it to me dude you got it
tell me everything about this one I know
I know that I troll pixel art a lot of times and I say oh man
dude this might be some of the most beautiful pixel art I have ever seen in my
life I've got to agree dude it's so detailed and beautiful and it moves so
smoothly it dude okay so the game is called replaced okay and I didn't know about this
until gamescom so this is the first time we're mentioning this on the show it's called replaced it is a
cyberpunk like like slightly horror slightly action slightly RPG like it's a little bit of everything
but oh my goodness if this didn't instantly blow me away dude um i love a cyberpunk setting number
one the pixel art in this absolutely just does it for me man
Like, I know I pick on it all the time, but my goodness, it looks good.
This is how you do 2.5D graphics, like, honestly.
They, they use that perspective shift so well to really build their environments.
And I watched a video specifically like talking about the lore of the world and stuff like that.
They really put their heart and soul into making this world feel alive and destroyed at the same time.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, it has, it is a 2.5D.
So it kind of starts off almost like a side.
scroller, which I think is really neat.
And they're talking about how good
the story in this game is,
the combat, you know, they get
into some of like the, it's got the
Arkham, Batman Return Combat
style. That's literally what they said
is we went with the Arkham style of combat,
which everybody loves.
So it's like, wait a minute. Okay, you guys
nailed this. You nailed the art style.
It's a cyberpunk setting, which does it for
me. You know, it starts
off in this kind of 2D
side scroller almost.
But then they start getting into the 2.5D where now you're moving into and out of the foreground and the background and you're, you got verticality now.
And then they start talking about how good the story in this game is and how your choices matter.
Dude.
Dude, I'm telling you all, look up this trailer for replaced.
Watch the video on it because I don't, it's rare that you go from like, I don't know that this game exists to, oh my gosh, I cannot wait to play this game.
And that was purely off of what I saw in the game with my own eyes.
And we always talk about, because we're going to talk about Lords of the Fallen 2 here in just a second.
We always talk about you can curate this most amazing trailer in the world and it looks great.
But if you don't show me your game, I don't know what I'm getting.
Replace didn't do that.
All they showed was the game.
And I went, I need this game, dude.
I can't wait for this one.
Nothing we say is going to do justice, just how good this game looks.
and you've got to go watch the trailer for yourself.
Yeah, watch the trail.
I think it comes out in 2026.
Yeah, they said like 2026.
That's fine.
I mean, as much as I want it now.
Take as much time as you need.
This game is will absolutely, I mean, like I said, we, you know, we try not to get too
hyped, but there's certain times when we're telling you as a listener, like, you need to
look into this game and replaced as one of those because this looks absolutely fantastic to
me, dude.
and again making a believer of me of the pixel graphics
and they even went into like how the pixel graphics affect the animation
and you can't have too smooth of animation when you have pixel graphics
because it like our brains don't like it's jarring if it is yeah yes and so they were
like we had to address the animation like this everything about this game you can tell
was just curated perfectly dude i can't wait for this one hyped hyped hyped
Ace, we're getting the successor to Disco Elysium.
Oh, are we now?
What's it called?
Zero Paradas?
We were joking before.
I called it zero parades, and the Naces is like, is that how it's it?
I go, I don't know.
I'm going to tell you to say this.
Coming from the people who made Disco Elysium, I'm going to guess that it's not zero parades.
Yeah, because everybody loves a parade, right?
I mean, who would want zero?
It probably is paradise.
I don't.
Sorry, we're Americans and we're dumb when it comes to language.
So those two things usually go hand in hand.
Successor to this is.
And when I say successor, this is from the original studio.
This is from Zon Studio.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And so the second you see this trailer, you can tell the art style, you can tell, oh, I know what this is.
This was made by the same people.
are you excited for this one i'm very excited but also like i'm curious how well they're going to
keep uh you know all of it together without the full team there to like kind of guide the process
but i think they're going to do it i have faith i although they did have concept art in their
trailer so so they're not very far along yeah i mean here's the interesting thing with this one
this studio zom they got in a ton of hot water uh they didn't treat their people very nicely a whole
bunch of the developers split off into different
studios. Just a three-way split.
Now they're all racing each other to
try to like develop the next disco elysium
and it's kind of like, okay, and
yes, they did not treat
their people nicely.
Ultimately, as gamers, we
just want to play a good video game.
You know, this game looks incredible
to me. It has that feeling.
It has that disco-elisium DNA
where, you know,
these characters,
this world that you're in, that you're
existing in these choices that you have to make.
Even like the
kind of gameplay elements that Disco Elysium
had. This is more of a
like you're, what are you like an assassin?
Like a cyber assassin is what it looks like.
Cyberassasson kind of thing.
Cyberpunk must be the theme for this year for like
what people are aiming for.
Where it was like Norse like two years ago
everything was Norse. Now everything
I like that too.
So, you know. Oh, so easy to
please. It really is. I mean,
all are just talking my language on these games so yeah zero paradis is we got a trailer for it
we didn't see a whole lot on this one but it was enough to instantly get me excited it's enough to
at least peak my interest into watching where this is going and when the announcement trailer that
actually has like a bunch of gameplay in it comes out i'll be the first one there yeah yeah all right
we're gonna we're gonna rapid fire some of these because we're quickly running out of time we
mentioned lords of the fallen too i never played lords of the fallen i remember seeing it
I remember getting hyped for it, and then it released, and people kind of went,
middling reviews.
The reviews were very middling.
I mean, it was like the, there's something here, but it's just not quite landing.
And you said you've played this game, right?
I have this game.
Oh, you have this?
Oh, did you just buy cosmetics for it?
No.
Did they have like a cosmetics thing?
I may have bought the ultimate edition, but I haven't played the game yet.
So wait a minute.
You bought the ultimate edition
And then you didn't play the game?
I bought the ultimate edition on sale
For like 30 bucks
Did you get a statue?
You get like an extra character class
Unlocked early
And some others
And some armors and stuff
No, I haven't
All right
I know
I am the problem, I know
It's taking everything I have
To not troll you right now
Ace
But we're running low on size
You don't have time to troll me
I know we don't have time
Dang it
All right listen
trailer wise lords of the fallen two you did it we were talking pre-show this is this this trailer alone ranks up there with some of the best cinematics that we saw from like diablo four 100% oh my goodness i i love this stuff but i really want to see gameplay i even told you i was like bro if you can find some gameplay for lords of the fallen too let me know i looked everywhere man i looked everywhere too the only thing i found was like an old video where they were showing off what they did to lords of the fallen now i will see that
this does seem like one of those success stories where they released the game it had technical issues it was buggy and it was mid right and then so the the studio said well that's not what we wanted so they have literally spent the last couple years improving lords of the fallen they've built a lot of goodwill doing this i i've seen i've seen people talk about it it's like you know i really appreciate them sticking around to fix the game when people had issue with it because you know everyone spent you know full price on this game yeah and you
That's why Chew has so much interest.
Well, and so what they did is they said, look, we learned a ton of lessons from this.
And we wanted to put those into effect in the sequel to Lords of the Fallen.
And I will say, I kind of feel like they're going to pull this off.
There is a lot of hype behind this game, especially for people that haven't even seen gameplay on it.
But apparently, Lords of the Fallen, the original is now in a really good place and is a really good game.
As a friend's past, too.
This is a dark souls-ish, dark kind of, you know...
Lantern bearer.
Yeah, you're the lantern bearer.
Is this the one where you hold up the lantern and it goes into like the alternate realm?
Yes, you go into like the dead realm and you swap between the two realms, yeah.
Which looks really cool because I think if you die, don't you go into the other realm and then you have to like work your way out?
I believe that's what it was.
I don't know if that's what it still is, but that's what it was.
yeah interesting mechanics
I just remember thinking this is like a Dark Souls clone
it looks beautiful but then
they came out mid reviews and I just kind of went
yeah whatever but they
they made one of the best trailers I've seen
so if they can do that hopefully the rest of the game
looks amazing
bro we'd be remiss if we didn't bring up
if we didn't bring up Black Off 7
I already know what you were going
he looked at me he looked at your eyes
I was like I know what he's saying next
dude the best
the best thing to come out of the Black Op 7
trailer are all the comments that people are leaving man black up or uh battlefield six sure got a whole lot
of pre-orders that day off dude i love this i love this so much ace and listen if you're a fan of call
of duty brett i i i'm looking at you you know like we know a lot of people that love call
of duty and obviously millions of people around the world love call of duty i've always been a
battlefield guy but dude like the the the reaction of the internet to black off seven
has been overwhelmingly
I'm going to go pre-order Battlefield 6 now
That's pretty much the synopsis
Could not be more on board this train
Dude that's the synopsis of their comment section
That's all it says
I
Dude
I don't know what to make of this
I've only played two Black
Two Call of Duty games in my life
They're fine
But they're no Battlefield
Were they both black up
This one looks weird
It's like they tried to go even weird
you're hallucinating there's a dream state it's got the main character from this is us who was
like the dad and now he's some i don't know man my brain just is not jiving with this at all
like at all i thought cod was supposed to be the more grounded of the first person she is what
happened to that have you played war zone ever have you seen godzilla and niki minage running around
and clowns and i mean i knew it existed in war zone i didn't think it was part of like the main
story. Look, dude, like, it's not, okay, that's, to be fair to call of duty, that's not part of the
main story. But this is the path they've taken. And even it's the Black Op 7 thing where they talk about
the, you know, order the Stilich Naya pack or whatever they call it. It's like, dude, they've got
these weird looking skins. They're like half robots and I don't know what the heck this is, man.
Thank you, Black Op 7 for pointing more people towards Battlefield 6. Our cues will never be empty.
Yeah. Oh, man.
All right.
So if you're a Call of Duty fan and you're excited, we're excited for you.
But my goodness, I just, this makes me want to play Battlefield 6 even more.
Ace, we said before the show, if we don't mention this game, people will riot.
Lego Batman?
Yeah, dude.
I mean, this seems, I like to Lego games as a kid.
I haven't revisited them since I've gotten older.
But this one at least, yeah, since I've grown up.
Thanks.
there's going to be a lot of adults
that are mad at me right now
but this seems at least
like a celebration of what Batman is
and as someone who really likes Batman's history
it did peak my interest that they mentioned
that Arkham combat again
and the Arkham like takedowns
and things like that
I'm hopeful that it would be a really good Lego game
but the last few Lego games
especially apparently have not landed
even for people who like Lego games
I have not played
actually I take that back
I played some of a Lego.
I think it was Lego Star Wars over at a friend's house one night.
Skywalkers are.
It's the only time I've played a Lego game.
It was fine.
Like, it's cutesy.
It's kiddie.
It's not difficult at all.
Very well done games.
The graphics are beautiful.
They run great.
I mean, I'm not trying to slander the Lego games.
I will say, I think Lego Batman looks phenomenal.
It does.
It looks great.
If this is up your alley, I think Lego Batman is probably one of the best looking
Lego games that I have seen.
I like the fact that you can.
can build you know the batmobile this arkham style of combat that they've got like everything
about this looks top notch i love the humor in it i can fully admit that this looks like a lego game
that everybody would want to play i personally just find them to be way too easy and they just
don't interest me but this one looks really good at least i liked all the references to the
different movies and stuff like you know yeah i really liked matt berry's as um hardy's bane at the end
Yeah. Oh, the Bain part was, yes. Yeah, that was really funny too. I mean, that's one of the things that could have hurt myself. Yeah, the humor in these is fantastic. I mean, they're fun. I feel like these would just be dumb fun. They're just not really my kind of game. That's completely fair. We're not the target audience. I will say. No, probably not. We are not. So, all right. And then last one, dude, this one, we didn't get to see a lot. But I didn't even know this was going to happen. Black myth Zongue.
Yeah, black myth
Zong Kui
Kui Kui Kui Kui Kui Kui
Dumb Kui Zong Kui
Zong Kui
Zong Kui
Black Mif 2
Yeah Black Mith too
There we go
Blackmiff too
So
Okay
You're telling me you're good
This is a series now
This was so soon dude
This is so soon
It's not
It's not Black Myth
Wukong too
Because we've had the story of Wukong
And we finished.
This is Black Myth Zonkwee.
I shouldn't have backed myself into that corner.
But dude, again, we got a kind of a cinematic trailer.
We didn't get to see any gameplay.
We know the gameplay what it's going to be in this.
It's going to look incredible.
It's going to be smooth and buttery animation.
I mean, at this point, we kind of know what to expect from the studio.
I'm instantly in on this game.
I love the fact that we, they've kind of shown,
we are going to tell these mythological stories about different characters.
in Asian mythology.
I love it.
I love it so much.
I freaking love this, dude.
And I already know we've got a really cool main character because he's got two demons to
carry his sword.
Yes, he does.
And a giant freaking tiger.
That is the most realistic video game tiger I've ever seen.
Dude, the fur on this tiger was mind blowing.
I was like, did you have to render all of this like individually?
I don't know what those black myth devs are on, dude.
But their graphics are always crazy.
yeah I I'm here for it I black myth was a lot of fun dude I mean and they're going to take the things that they've learned and then improve it I mean I would again I wish we could see gameplay but for a trailer and just the announcement I'd love the angle that they're going with they're saying hey we told that story we're going to tell a different story now I can't wait and so soon after we just got Wukong yeah what was the last year that was it was it 2024 we got black with Wukong well I'm
mean this game's probably not come i don't did they give it a release date no i don't think they did
i think it said soon okay but they've got a trailer already and and they've got a plan so
yeah i mean it's either it'll be out in a you know a year or it'll be out in 10 years yeah i have
the feeling it'll be out sooner than that dude i think they've got their workaholics dude i think
they've got i think they've got the basis and i think now they're kind of like we know where we
want to go with this i'm in we're seeing a lot more developers saying too that we need to get out of
this like six, seven year development cycle and we have to be able to develop games faster.
And I think I'm hoping we're going to start seeing this.
Like I can't imagine that this black myth zonkui comes out in 2026.
If it does, okay, great.
But I would say three to four years.
If it takes three to four years, that's totally understandable.
And I'm here for it.
And I'm very excited for this one.
I'm just ready to see more.
And as usual, like,
They need to take as long as they need to take
to actually put out a good game
because rush games are no good.
No one wants a rushed game.
And this studio has proven themselves, I think.
Yeah, they're very meticulous.
If there's some goodwill, they've had it,
and I'm very confident in what they can do.
Almost got a game of the year.
All right, Ace, pick your apart from Silk Song.
Oh, you took it out.
I know.
Well, of course I took it out.
Because it's like, bro, we're not just always going to go with the easy answer.
Pick your top two games that you're most excited to play
from the games that we've talked about.
Oh, man.
I'm going to have to go to Toxic Commando
just because I really do enjoy our nights
where we all get together.
That's one of my two.
We get to play together.
And the other one's replaced.
Yes, that's me too.
Yeah.
Like, I love Resident Evil.
That'll be my third one.
But replaced, it looks just so unique.
And I also, I love a good pixel art game.
Yeah.
Man.
Okay.
So you and I are locked up on these.
too, dude. A toxic
Commando for the dumb
laughter, the fun with your buddies,
the explosions, the zombies,
those oh my gosh moments that you're talking
about, you know, two days later.
Replaced to me
is the kind of game
I didn't know existed that
I really need to play now.
Like really, I need this game.
You need to play inside.
What's that? You need to play inside.
Yeah, I do. I do. I played
I think maybe I played limbo.
You played limbo. You played limbo.
Inside is totally different.
Is it?
Okay.
Because I need to check my Steam library because there is, I think I played limbo and then I think
I played Little Nightmares 1 and 2.
Maybe I didn't play Inside then.
Yeah, Inside was what they kind of marked as the inspiration for where they went with
the graphics for this.
And it's very similar.
I think you would enjoy it.
Okay.
I'm going to have to look into that now because you got me curious.
So anyway, that's the takeaways, people.
Make sure you look up this trailer for replaced.
Toxic Commando looks like an absolute blast.
Guys, we're getting Silk Song.
In a week, in a week, this episode comes out on the 26th.
Silk Song comes out on the fourth, man.
My goodness.
It's so surreal.
I can't believe I'm living in this reality.
We will be deep diving, Silk Song.
Not that you all are going to wait for our opinion on this game.
No, everyone's going to already have been playing it.
But you know what?
