Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the Video Gamers podcast.
It's no surprise to many that Overwatch is one of my favorite games of all time,
and with the recent resurgence of its popularity,
we thought, what better way to celebrate than to have on one of the best
Overwatch content creators in existence?
And as is customary, we challenged him to an Overwatch draft
so we can prove our medal in the arena.
Before we get to that, some introductions are in order.
I am your host, Josh, and joining me, this might be the only game he's never heard.
Res me, Ryan, res me, because he only knows how to play ERISA.
It's Ryan.
Hold on.
I watched a certain somebody's diva tank video like today, so I've got some new, I got some new skills, so I may be switching.
Okay. I love Diva, man. Diva's one of my favorites to play. And joining us, a man that needs no introduction, but we wouldn't know how to start the show if we didn't do one. He's a former Overwatch pro and currently one of the top Overwatch content creators in the world. And he's just an all-around awesome guy. It's Emong.
First of all, like, I can't like sit here and just, I have to question the ERISA pick because now as someone who plays a lot of Diva, the first thing I hear is you play a lot of ERISA. Is this true?
This is true. Yes.
Okay. We're off to a good start here. But thank you. No, it's great to be here. I'm, you know, it's super excited for the podcast. I mean, thank you so much for bringing me on here. You know, I can't wait. I'm ready to talk some whatever we're going to talk about.
Yeah, it's going to be fun, man.
We are going to have a good time.
Before we started recording, Ryan and I may have been talking a little bit of trash about how we're going to do great in this draft.
So we are going to, a little bit later in the show, we're going to draft Overwatch characters to play football, to make a football team.
So we are going to draft a running back, a quarterback, and two wide receivers to face off with Emong.
We all happen to be fans of fantasy football.
That's actually how we met.
And so we thought it would be a really fun kind of crossover to incorporate a little bit of that.
We know a lot of our listeners love fantasy football as well.
So we'll get to that.
But Ryan and I, like we do, we may have been talking a little bit of smack early.
I mean, do you know all 51 heroes my name right now?
Because if so, I already have an advantage.
I don't.
I actually probably could name a lot of them, to be honest.
but I feel like I would miss probably like four or five.
So I see I have every backup option.
See, I got all the sister picks.
I got everything here.
I mean, we'll see.
I love it.
I am all for you putting on the best performance in a draft that anyone has ever done.
But we're going to let the people decide that at the end for sure.
I'm excited to see how this goes.
Awesome.
Well, thank you so much for joining us, Imong.
We are absolutely just amped to have you on the show.
I know a lot of our listeners are going to be completely geeked out right now.
just kind of like Ryan and I are at the same time.
For those that might not know who you are,
I figured we'd start off with a couple questions for you,
just to kind of let the people get to know you a little bit.
Sounds good to man,
just to kind of set the tone a little bit.
I'm going to come in heavy on this first question here for you.
As a fellow cat lover,
please sell Ryan on how awesome Sully is
and why Ryan is a big, dumb idiot for not loving cats.
Yes. Wow, you don't like cats? So we have the ERISA. The ERISA and the cats already. And then the cats. This is
started off real good. Well, first of all, I have a bucket right here for my cat so he can sleep in here all the time.
I actually have three cats, which is why we have the cat wall for my other cats. Yes, we,
listen, here's what I'll say about cats is just have one. And once you start to see when that cat bonds with you,
you're going to go, wow, this is the best feeling in the world because having something that at first you feel like
is going to hate you and then watching and start to love you is one of the best feelings ever.
And the trust of a cat is hard to earn.
And that is the most satisfying feeling in the world.
And when you get your, like I will watch my cats drink water.
I'm so excited with everything they do.
Like I'm not even joking.
I'm on a stream going, sorry, Chad.
I have to look over here.
My cat's drinking water.
It's just something about cats and the way they love you, I don't know how to explain.
I love dogs too.
Don't get me wrong.
I love both dogs and cats, but you got at least, you know, have one.
And you'll see what we're talking about.
I got one.
I don't think I've ever.
wait i've never not had a cat okay fair enough and and i have a cat and i do i do enjoy uh every every day
because the timing with the clock is is just offset a second but at at 459 because otherwise she's a
maniac the auto feeder goes off and and that cat shoots off of our beds so fast oh yeah like she breaks
the sound barrier and you hear tink tink tink and then boom you hear her go and stuff i always i just
i give people crap because cat people are just a different breed
And, you know, I see the mounts on your walls and stuff like that.
And so it's just cat people love their cats.
So I always like to poke at them and stuff.
I am a dog guy through and through.
But yeah, I like to give people a little bit of trouble about their cats.
Okay.
I can respect that a little bit, although maybe you should walk the cat too.
Kind of has that like, you know, put a leash on the cat and do that.
There you go.
Some cats.
I actually have a friend that does that.
I'm not even kidding.
I love it.
Also, my cat, we have a cat.
Her name is Luna.
Same way.
We have these automatic feeders that, not unlike the,
automatically is that you they're based off of the chip.
Oh yeah, yeah.
They're based off of a chip. So basically when the cats walk over at the bowl opens,
well, Luna, she's the only one that's food driven. So she will sprint,
tackle the other, like just run in. That's a tackle. Like, you know,
pushes them out of the way and just starts going at it because it has a timer of three seconds.
So she knows she has a three second window to eat that cat food and then just sits there
and camps it. So it's, oh yeah, I get it. That's amazing. That's awesome.
I've always had cats.
My cat is a lap cat.
There's nothing like just having a cat purring on your lap.
You know, if I take a nap on the couch,
cat sleeps between my legs every single time.
And this is a long-going argument that Ryan and I have
because I'm a dog and cat person.
I'm just an animal person in general.
So it's like I have two cats, two dogs.
Ryan is just like, cats, you have to earn their love.
Dogs love you right off the ramp.
No, no, no, no.
That's not what I say.
But that's the fun part, though.
earn the love.
It's like they look at you and they're like, who are you?
And then they realize you have food.
So, all right, I had to come in hot for, that was more just to jab at Ryan than anything there.
But I know you love your cats.
All right.
I'll tell you what, let's talk Overwatch just for a second here, because this is going to be the main question that I know a lot of people have is how did you get into Overwatch and how, like, what kind of led you into the pro scene with that as well?
I mean, I'm assuming as any gamer when it released in 2016,
you were hyped just like the rest of us were.
You start playing it.
You know, this quickly becomes one of my favorite games of all time.
But like, how did you get into Overwatch and then have that kind of progress into like the pro scene?
So I initially wasn't like, I actually was kind of tilted at first, not tilted,
but like the best way to put it is it used to call it only watch, right?
Because no one could get into the beta.
Everybody was watching it.
You know, this reference to one of my friends Siegel.
He was always streaming overwatch all this stuff.
No Siegel.
And like, you know, I was just like, I can't get into the game.
I'm not going to play it.
But then, you know, as I got closer, I got more excited, they had an open beta weekend and I was looking forward to it.
And then one of my friends, who's an owner of an org at the time, said, hey, would you be a part of my team?
So that's kind of how we segued into that because I, you know him for years.
And we kind of got the no-h-h-h-he ended up becoming an OWL coach later on for many years.
And so he just was like, hey, you want to play?
And I'm like, you know what?
I'm down.
I always like playing different games, which is funny because now I'm going to be hitting year 10.
Like, literally tomorrow is the patch for the 10 years of Overwatch.
And like, I never thought I would be playing it for as long as I did.
Because I love it.
It just, it's became like my special interest.
And like I just, I, and then, yeah, back to the question of like, how did I get there?
It was because of that.
My friend basically, you know, he was just like, hey, I own an org.
Would you like to come play for my team?
And I did.
And then I ended up having, you know, a lot of fun with that and segueed into what I do now.
So that's awesome, man.
Yeah, I, I remember when Overwatch released being so excited for it.
I still remember to this day, the very first character I picked was Zenata.
because he just had the coolest, like, face icon in the game.
That one looks neat.
And then I got wrecked.
And then I picked Reaper after that.
And then I was like, okay, this is my guy because I'm a very aggressive, like, in-your-face kind of player.
And I was like, okay, I love this game so much.
And then all our friend group got into it.
We played it for years and years and years.
You know, took a break for a little while just to, you know, get away from it a little bit.
But now, like a lot of the world, just completely sucked back into it.
And, you know, I play almost every single night with my daughter with Ace.
Ryan plays some with us.
He's more of a Marvel rivals guy.
That's okay.
But, you know.
I have a streamer friend Flats.
He's all over rivals nowadays.
Yep, no flats real well, too.
No, I love that, though.
That's the cool thing about Overwatch is like, one, you said he took a break.
I think breaks are good for best about everything.
I guess I'm just wild and have decided to play this game for 10 years straight.
So, but yeah, no, I get it.
I mean, the game's had a lot of ups and downs over the years.
So.
Eamong, I'm not going to love.
I, and I mean this with with the best intentions, but you kind of remind me of like Frodo Baggins
where he's completely immune to the effects of the ring.
You know, like, and I feel like that's you with Overwatch a little bit because like,
I'm a pretty happy go lucky guy, but like there was a time right before my break where I was getting
very, very frustrated with Overwatch to where I was like, I'm just going to uninstall this game,
man.
And it's like, I love seeing that 10 years later that you still just have that passion for it and
you're having a blast with it and it's what a video game should be for people.
And I got to say, man, I absolutely love that because it's like a lot of people that I've
been playing Overwatch with for a long time kind of feel the same way I do where they're like,
it's the game I love, but it's the game I hate.
Well, one of the things about Overwatch for me is like I always just tried to, if I even
am getting close to like being upset with it, which usually I'm not.
But like I just try to remind myself of, you know, the Golden Eye days when I was a kid playing
golden eye with my uncle and my, and my, and my,
my cousin and my dad.
And we were playing those games
and I just had so much fun, right?
You had your banter,
you crap talk to each other.
You had a good time,
but it was a good time.
So I try to remind myself of that.
Also,
I will never be insulted
by a Lord of the Rings
like comparison.
You could have said I was the log
they hid behind
when they were walking by
at the beginning of fellowship
of the ring,
and I would have been happy with that.
I love Lord of the Rings
so I'll never be insulted by that.
I mean,
connecting me to that.
Frodo and of all people,
you know,
might have been frustrating at times.
The greatest movies ever made
in my opinion.
Still hold up.
Hands down.
Still hold up.
Yeah.
I watched Lord of the Rings and Hobbit probably.
This might go to bed show like throughout the week for sure.
You have a new movie coming out too.
We have the new, they're making the Golan one.
Oh yeah, that's right.
Yeah.
Hopefully it's as good as the game.
Yeah.
I said it all the time too.
I can just jinxed it all, man.
One thing, a funny story is actually that they weren't going to announce it yet,
but it got spoiled because they actually did a DMCA takedown of a fan
made movie with the same name and people got confused because it was up for 20 years.
And they're like, why is this, why did this get deleted?
You found out they were making the exact movie name of this fan made Ghalom movie.
Wow.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, I, dude, going back and watching like the Hobbit, because, you know, he has his cameo
in the Hobbit trilogy that they did and stuff.
Gallum is literally like the most important and pivotal character in Lord of the Rings if you think
about it.
And I love that so much.
Oh, after like an 18 hour stream, I turn into Gullum.
I'm walking around the house like that and my precious and everything.
Like I got,
I got no energy left.
Well,
that's what Overwatch is.
It's my precious.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So,
all right.
So, like,
you know,
you're playing Overwatch.
You're kind of involved in the pro scene.
You know,
you're,
you're into all this.
What made you kind of,
I have to imagine at some point there's the,
am I going to continue down this path of like playing in the pros and the competition and
the competitive scene and all that?
Or do I,
take what I love and then I turn it into something that I will love for like longer, I guess.
So like how did you pivot into like content creation or what was like kind of your,
your deciding factor on that where you went, look, I love this, but I don't think I want to
stay in the competitive scene. I'd rather kind of start making content and being able to enjoy this
from kind of like a different aspect. Yeah. So I always liked entertaining people. Like even
when I was a kid, it was something I really enjoyed. So like it was always in the back of my mind to be
able to, you know, like, you know, stream, right?
Um, basically came down to this.
They created a league called OWL, which I mean, you might have heard the
Overwatch League back then.
And I just didn't really get many opportunities at the time.
One came a little bit later, but by then my stream started to pick up.
So I, I had decided to kind of keep doing what I was doing.
And that really what it was.
Like, I just didn't want to sit there and like, hope that, like, a team offer would
come or something like that.
And I just wanted to, I always try to just be a little bit more forward thinking
with that stuff.
It was like, you know what?
I'm just going to move on to the next thing.
I'm not going to be upset about that.
And then I just started the stream a lot.
and next thing I knew I was I was streaming like 10, 12 hours a day and I got just,
I just started to see more and more people in there.
And then I kind of off and on did that for a couple of years.
And then one day I said to myself, I'm like, if I really want to do this, I have to be consistent
and I have to do it almost every day.
And I started doing that for the past about six years.
Yeah, six years.
I started to really right around the COVID time, I started to really go all in with it.
And then here we are today.
It's only six years.
That's all.
Yeah.
It doesn't feel like it nowadays.
I sometimes I hear dates of movies I haven't seen in a while and I'm like that was 10 years ago like what do you know what do you mean that was 10 years ago like believe me I know and it's like wait now I just feel old because that really was that long ago at the same time yeah I mean we've been doing this podcast for five years man we do it because we absolutely love doing it you know and it's one of those things when it comes to content creation you know I have two daughters they want to be you know everybody in the world wants to be a content creator at some point right and
then it's just it's one of those things where, you know, my job is technically content creation.
I'm a producer for, you know, one of the largest podcasts in the world. And it's one of those things
where it's like, you have to do it because you love doing it. If you do it for any other reason,
you're probably going to be disappointed at some point with that. But if you can hop on with a
smile on your face every single day and love what you do, that's what matters. I thought I was going to
make millions. That's what you told me. What are you talking about? Ryan, it's coming. It's coming,
man, just another five years, Ryan.
That's just another five years.
It's a 20 year promise, okay?
You have to give it time, okay?
It's like a 401K.
It's going to build up over you.
Yeah, compounding, you know.
Yeah, exactly.
It takes some time.
Well, I think one thing about, you know, content creation that I think a lot of people
is you'll see the people who are, you know,
leaving the charge of that, but like it takes one day at a time.
It's not, you're not going to be at that many viewers right away.
You're not going to be at that many followers.
It takes, like, my journey has been like a 10 plus year journey, right?
Like, it's not like, it just happened overnight.
And I think that's what I just,
try to do every day is I just take, I'm a one day at a time person. People always ask me, you know,
like, certain things coming up. And I'm usually just like, no, I'm just one day at a time.
I just, yeah, today is how I do things. And I just go on there with the idea of just entertaining
people and having fun. And that's, that's awesome. It's why you got to do it too. It's like,
it's, it's about having that good time. Because otherwise you said, you're going to get burnout more
than likely because you're expecting these results, but it takes time. And people are going to
see it too. If you're not genuine, you're not authentic. If you're not doing it because,
you know, for the love of the game, like, they're going to see through that. And that's probably
why you do so well is that you're you're living through this misery of
Overwatch for this long so 30 games a day pretty much every day
of ranked, of ranked, of rank. Yeah, I've ranked
of ranked, oh man. Speaking of rank though, like I got a question for somebody
so Josh has been playing for a million years, you know, since the origin.
I lost that old, Ryan. I lost a large space of time
in my gaming world to destiny. So I just kind of played destiny. That's all I
did for many, many years. And then I started playing Overwatch with Josh. So for people like new
getting into this game and starting out and be kind of really, if they want to get into it,
like what are your recommendations on like, you know, if they're a first time player. Like what
should they start doing? Well, I mean, honestly, I always tell people to give almost every hero a shot
because Overwatch is all about play style. So if you don't find, when you find your play style,
you're going to be so much better. Like for example, you play ERISA, right? I'm going to keep
reference on that every time I talk about that.
Just hit me up with it.
Because for me it was overwhelming.
I'm like, I don't know any of these characters.
There's a million of them. They all have different styles.
And Josh is like, do this, do that. And I'm just like, I don't know what's going on.
And so there's just so much. So that makes sense, like a play style.
Yeah, I send people to mystery heroes usually at the beginning because in mystery
heroes, you're going to get something random every time. And it kind of forces you into,
you're not going to learn like how to play the, you're going to learn some of the, like,
the basics of the game in that way. But like, understanding what
a hero does is the easiest way to get better at Overwatch.
Like if you're playing Diva and you're going against a Zaria, for example, but you have no
idea what Zaria does, how are you going to know how to play against Sariah?
So that's why I always recommend, like, you know, people come and go, hey, I just came over
from rivals, you know, what are some recommendations?
And I usually go, I would recommend trying mystery heroes, trying out every hero and
finding your play style, because if you don't find something you enjoy playing, you
could leave that game, right?
Like, for example, if somebody joins the game for the first time and you say, hey,
no, play this hero, right?
And you force them on, let's say Cassidy, right?
Or Genji.
It's going to take a bit to get used to that hero.
So like imagine the experience they're going to have.
They're going to be dashing into walls, missing every shot.
And they're like, well, that wasn't fun.
I'll see you later.
So that's why I always say, you know, just recommend like, you know, maybe mystery heroes
or looking at the heroes, even in the training range, things like that before you just
be like, no, you play this hero now.
We need you to play this.
Yeah.
We got a counter.
Yeah, yeah.
You need to go this.
Because I think a lot of the times people will get a little bit overwhelmed as, as you said.
Yeah, absolutely.
Imagine if you didn't find ERISA.
You know, you may be on having as much fun.
And then, you know, you're back to square one.
so I to me the learning the characters and finding who you resonate with and who fits your play style is is really one of the most enjoyable things in the game to me. Um, I tend to be more of like a flex kind of player where it's like I can play, you know, a lot of characters fairly well, but I'm not, I wouldn't say I'm like fantastic with any of them. But that ability to kind of just say, hey, I learn this character. I learn this character. I can play this one, you know, to, to swap, you know, people of the counterwatch thing. And it's like, but to be able to do that to me is kind of the game. And it's like, but to be able to do that to me is kind of the game. And
within the game that keeps it fun 10 years later, you know, and keeps me going back for it.
Yeah, we get a hero every season now, too, which is nice.
Which is really nice, to be honest.
I wish they quit making them quite so annoying.
Jetpack Cat and Vendetta and some of these, I'm not the biggest fan of them.
That's where my cat hate comes from.
That's all it is.
The cat.
If you didn't know right now, Jetpack Cat is actually being played at the highest of levels right now in OWCS.
Literally the meta is Jetpack Cat Bastion.
Yeah, which is ridiculous.
I've seen the videos and stuff and I just go,
this should not work, especially at that high level.
And yet it works.
And it just, it baffles me, man.
We did, we did start some, uh, we had community nights for, for the podcast and everything.
And we did start a chant where it's kill the cat, kill the cat.
Everybody would just start focusing.
The only time that's ever allowed.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Yes.
Yes.
Exactly.
Yeah.
So, Imong, you mentioned, you know, that you, you know, you're streaming full time.
You're streaming six days of,
week, you know, that's time consuming. And when you're streaming a game that people love
like Overwatch, you know, that can start to feel like work a little bit. Do you have time
for other games? And if you do, what is your favorite game over the last, we'll say,
year or two that you've played? So I definitely do some offstream gaming. Usually my days are
when I'm to off stream, my days off or either I hang out with my wife. We just sit there and
watch a bunch of movies all day long, or I just play video games. That's usually what I do.
Very exciting, I know, but hey, I love it.
That's my kind of downtime, right?
So for offstream games, it depends.
So, for example, on my phone, I've been playing Slate the Spire, which is my first ever
game like that.
I never played a game like that.
Jack convinced me to play it.
I played in between cues when I have long streams.
Or I have long cues, because sometimes we'll have, like, really long cues because
of my rank.
World of Warcraft, been a bread and butter game of mine since I was in high school.
Like, I mean, literally 20 years now.
I've been playing World of Warcraft.
Recently Diablo, P-O-E, Path of Exile.
I played a little bit of that.
Warframe, really fun game.
Had a cool story that I did with that.
But yeah, a lot of it is just a little bit of those games here and there.
And then I end up just basically just relaxing until the next day.
And then I just, I go again.
Watching Lord of the Rings.
Dude, I got, I got, I got, I got, I'll, I'll say Lani and my wife.
But I'll have her, I had her watch the extended versions with me about four years ago.
think we're due for another rewatch of the extent of the
I'm a big Hobbit guy I got the key right here
well she's an Ed Sharon fan and at the end of that
saw at the end of that what was it the second one I think it was
with the icy fire or whatever yes yes so you know
I can at least convince her on that side of things there you go
yeah yeah I literally just rewatched the Hobbit trilogy
last week and and convince my wife to watch it with me which she is not a
movie person at all and so that was unjustly hated on
story on yeah they're still super good movie so all right well I'll tell you what
Let's move into a cut.
We got a couple Overwatch questions for you,
not that we haven't been talking Overwatch here,
and then we'll get into our draft after a few of these.
So which role do you think is most important?
Ooh, wow, that's a good question.
I think support right now, mainly because tanks are going to be hit or miss.
You're going to have different experiences every time.
You're kind of like the punching bag most of the time.
Don't get me wrong, a good tank is important,
but a good tank can also, you know,
you can be limited by how good your support is.
Now, the reason why I say support is because support,
is also like DPS nowadays.
So while the damage role is super vital and important, right,
support's going to be the one that also can do what the, you know,
similar damage to DPS, but also has to keep the team alive.
So nowadays, I find that supports the strongest role.
But in Overwatch, I will evolve.
I mean, two years ago when, or three years ago,
holy crap, when the game was in Overwatch 2,
supports were horrendous.
You couldn't even play the characters.
Like, no one wanted to play them.
Then they made a change and now supports are basically the strongest in the game.
So I would say support.
I still remember that.
the goats meta. That was terrible.
And the thing was about goats is that
it wasn't just the tanks. It was also
the supports, but they kept addressing the tanks.
And that was it. So then they never broke it. And then
Rolku came out. So that's how that roll coup.
All right. This one might be tough for you. Maybe not.
Pick one Overwatch character
to remove from the game forever.
Oh, boy. He's going to say ERISA.
No, you know, I,
Arisa can stay because her win rate is one of the lowest in
Overwatch, so you're fine. Don't worry about that.
That's obviously why I play it.
Yeah, yeah.
He likes the challenge.
The rebel of the group likes to, you know, really go off meta.
No, this is actually is pretty solid still.
I mean, okay, so, and I know there's a lot of roadhog lovers out there.
Only roadhog because of what Roadhog does nowadays as a tank is, it doesn't feel like
roadhog kind of has any, like, hero identity now outside of just hooking people and killing them.
And which is fine, right?
But as a tank, it can be a bit frustrated in that, like, 5E5 setting.
and 66's a little bit different.
You kind of, you know, you're a little bit easier to kill, but in 5V.
But you know what?
I've always said I usually wouldn't delete a hero.
I would just rework it.
And speaking of that, Roadhog is one of their reworks coming up.
I was going to say he's got a rework coming up.
So he's technically getting deleted, technically, just to come back as a different version of himself.
Yeah, we'll see what they do.
They've been struggling with Roadhog and Sombra for a while.
Oh, yeah.
Somba's on that list.
So same with, I think, Lifeweaver.
So I like, see, I love playing Lifeweaver for me.
he's one of the main supports that I play
is I love utility.
So the pedal and the pole for me are just,
that's like,
that's the kind of play style I love is just that clutch,
you know,
life weaver grasp with when somebody's pulse bombed by tracer.
And then it's just everybody loses their mind for a second kind of thing.
Oh yeah.
I mean with a cleanse edition?
Yeah.
Oh yeah, the cleanse now too,
that they made permanent.
And then my daughter reminds me,
dad,
you have to heal,
don't DPS the whole time.
And I'm like,
oh yeah, okay.
So.
Well, that's what?
Well,
that's what the rework probably will address
because he's such a reactionary hero
in a proactive game.
So I think that's why they want to rework him.
I think they'll still keep his core identity
of those poles.
I think there's going to find ways for him
to put more damage I'll put out,
which is good for you.
That's the case.
That's good for me.
Yeah. Well, you touched on this.
So this is the next question is,
what's better?
5V5 or 6 v6?
You know, I do.
I get asked a question all the time.
It's, you know,
it's an inevitable question.
I kind of like both.
And I know that's kind of like
the in the middle answer
that you're probably not looking for,
but I'll kind of give my reason.
And 5V5 is more of like,
do I want to play like a really buffed up tank
and have the ability to control like a team fight
in ways that I wouldn't be able to in 66?
Sometimes I'm in the mood for that, right?
You're going to be front and center.
I'm going to go sigma.
I'm going to dominate or, you know, for example,
I love playing Diva, but like one of them that's been tough for me in 5B5
is Diva's been so strong that they get,
divas banned every single, every single game.
So I can't even player.
So, um, so 5E5 is fun for that aspect.
You know, also there's a little bit like less things to worry about.
So you can go, if you're like DPS player or a support player,
you have more room to work with and do all this damage.
But on the flip side, I was traditionally a 6V,
well, an off tank player in 6v6,
which means I played that tank that wasn't the main tank,
or what you consider it, like Winston, Ryan, etc.
So I always play the off tank.
So I like 6V6 nowadays too,
because I can go on there and have some fun.
I also find that, like, some days I'm just not in the mood to be sweaty.
I always will have that competitive edge.
I mean, I've been top 500 since, you know, the game came out.
Like, I always will have that, right?
But 6V6 has a very fun vibe.
It's very much like, I see a lot of people I saw like eight years ago.
A lot of people go in there and they all call each other unks and stuff because like,
there's a lot of the older crowd, you know.
Back in my name, this is all we have.
Yeah, exactly.
And actually, fun note, if you're in the 66 kind of master's top 500 range,
you'll get to see Lucas sometimes in there.
He's a huge Overwatch player and he's a top 500 from the Lakers.
Oh, really?
Yeah, yeah.
He is a huge Overwatch family.
That collab they did with him was not random.
like he he's a 6 v6 top 500 player and his name is donatello.
Wow.
He might have renamed it.
He might have renamed it now because that was a few years ago.
But yeah, he plays Overwatch quite a bit from I understand.
I remember seeing that.
They were like, what do you do?
He's like, I play basketball.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That was on a Nambani years ago.
Yeah, he's like, I played basketball.
Meanwhile, he's talking to Luca.
Yep.
Yep, that's all.
No big deal.
But yeah, 66 is, it's just a fun vibe for me nowadays.
You're probably going to see me play more 66 nowadays,
but it's not really a shot at like 5V5.
It's more just some days I just get on
and I just want to have like a more of a fun vibe
and like 6 v6 offers that.
And then sometimes I want to lock in and be sweaty
and I go into 5V5 and I lock in and be sweaty.
Yeah.
I really like that we have the option now to be honest.
Like you know, for a while there it was only 5V5
and then they kind of did the experimental mode of 6V6
and then now they're just like, okay,
if you want to play 6V6 you can, which I love.
And my understand is it's actually surpassed stadium recently
as the second most of the mode.
So like it has a pretty healthy player base too,
which is really nice.
Speaking of stadium,
I actually like stadium also.
It's a little bit daunting for people
who play it for the first time.
But I had fun with that mode too.
It just needs a little bit more love.
Yeah,
because they don't have all the characters and stuff.
Yeah,
I've only like a couple matches,
but I like the,
and I'm not a fan of mobas,
but it really,
this works in Overwatch a lot.
So it's like, I need to play some more stadium.
But I'm one of those people
that has that fear of like,
I don't know what skills to take?
Like, what build am I going for?
They actually added an auto builder recently that does it for you, and it's so much better.
Like, I went in there.
So you know during drives weekend where it gets pretty wild, they're in the games, I go to
stadium to do my drives because it's a little bit less, you know, stress and impact on that.
And the games are just, like I said, wild.
So yeah, Stadium has an auto builder now where it just suggests builds, you click a button,
it buys all the items for you and you just play.
And then basically the idea is that if you get more advanced, then you can kind of segue
and do your own builds.
And yeah, it's actually got, it's, it's, I have like a love,
hate with it. I don't hate it. I just like, I know they could do so much more with it,
but it's, it's, I still play from time and time and it could be fun. Yeah, that's awesome.
All right, a couple more. And then let's get into this draft here. Why do you think that there's
been such a resurgence for Overwatch lately? Um, the last two years I got to make the game they wanted
to make. I mean, there was a lot, you know, you know, Overwatch, no, no denying. It has had its ups.
It's had its downs. And, you know, we've seen that front and center, but, you know, the last
couple of years, they finally can make the game they want to make. They're not like playing catch
mode for previous, like, you know, leadership, previous things that the game had.
And they finally were just able to settle in.
You know, last year was a big year for basically like a reset.
Last year it felt like they're reset.
They were able to, you know, introduce stadium.
They were able to do all these fun things.
But again, at the same time, rivals came out later that year and made it kind of like,
or earlier that year.
So it was kind of a weird timing.
And then they just, they just kind of went quiet for a little bit.
They went in.
They said, we're going to make this next season huge.
And they did.
I mean, like, if you love Overwatch, you always wanted more heroes, you always
wanted storylines.
I mean, I would have every single year,
I have like a,
it's like a seven-hour movie session with chat
where we watch all the cinematic.
So being able to bring the lore back
and, you know, front and center,
being able to, you know,
just show the game is better
because it has gotten better.
But, you know,
Overwatch had a lot of opportunity
to regain players.
And it didn't because it just wasn't the right time.
And people would come back, it felt the same.
This one, it felt different.
Now it feels like,
you have a new hero every season.
You have new content.
They have these, like, cool, like,
community events that you can do.
Can they improve on them?
Absolutely.
But the game is just,
it's just better than it was,
if you looked at the game three years ago to now,
it is night and day.
Kind of very similar because you mentioned Diablo earlier.
Diablo is very similar, right?
Same thing.
They can make the game they want to make
and then you see those improvements.
I can vibe with that.
Yeah, that's definitely like having the ability to take the time,
take what you've learned,
take the feedback from all the players like yourself
and people at the highest level
and then the lowest level
and make something for everybody
where everybody has an opportunity,
like we said, with the 6 v6 and stuff
and just give everybody a time to have fun.
Like that's, I mean, that's why we're playing these games.
You want to have fun.
So that's, I personally, they got, they got sucked back in.
And then it drew me back in to a game that really didn't have a lot of experience with.
And I've, I've fallen in love with.
I have such a good time.
I mean, I did sneak in a couple quick matches before, before we recorded.
I love that.
I guess this goes my, now I'm the host for a second.
What, what in general got y'all back into it?
Like, what, or like made you want to play it even more so?
Like, I know, I'm curious.
For me, like, I've, I've,
always said honestly, like I've loved Overwatch since the day it launched. You know, it's in my top
10 games of all time. You know, I took a break for probably almost a year. I always say that for me,
I think the best thing that ever happened to Overwatch was Marvel rivals coming out because it showed
them that, hey, you know, oh, crap. People want this. You know, they want, they want games like this.
And you already have one. You just have to put some more effort into it. And so I agree with you that they got to make the
game they wanted finally. And I think there were definitely some hiccups there. My daughter getting into it
and being able to play it with her is what keeps me playing. Like, like I said, we play almost every single
night. But to be able to do that with her and then friends, you know, and then our community. You know,
Ryan mentioned we have community nights where we have 20, 30 people, you know, doing custom overwatch
matches together and spectating and having a blast. And there's, you know, that's a ton of fun. And,
and, you know, you mentioned like the days of Golden Eye earlier in the episode. And it's like.
That's what it's like, yeah.
There's a lot of people that don't know what that's like.
And so to be able to do that and have a game like Overwatch where people can come together and have fun together,
there's not a lot of those out there anymore.
Like most games are like, you get a squad of three and that's it.
And so to be able to do these custom matches with spectators and stuff like that, I think is fantastic.
And so for me, the answer is I personally feel like they really just started caring about the game a lot more.
And it was instantaneous.
Like, we saw it right away.
And that's when I was like, well, I'm.
back because I freaking love this game, man.
I love that.
Love it. And you are right about rivals.
Rivals was, it also got a lot of new people
into the hero shooter genre, right?
Like, people never even tried it because Overwatch was
one of the only ones. So having a successful
game that, you know, introduce people. I mean, you probably
got, and it being third person had a whole new audience.
And then people like, hey, Overwatch, let's try this out.
You know, after rival started to slow down some of their stuff.
You know, they're still doing well. I don't mind the game. I don't, I don't play it.
I don't hate it, though. Yeah, I haven't played it in a while.
I prefer. I prefer Overwatch. But,
honestly like it's funny because that first person third person my daughter played rival or rivals like
twice and she was like i can't do the third person and i was like that's fair yeah it's so different
it's like you're because you have to also like learn how to like learn how like the closer you are to like
walls your cross here isn't quite aligned like sometimes there's like suggestions to aim like left
or right it's oh the amount of times i shot a corner of a wall by accident that's why they have
that option in there with a big x to tell you like this is not going to go well if you hit your button
like it's yeah all right well i'll tell you what people uh let's let's do this here we go we have
challenged emong to a draft he graciously accepted with no hesitation at all uh and so it is time
to become mortal enemies uh for for anybody that hasn't heard one of our drafts before basically
this is going to work just like a fantasy football draft so we i randomized the draft order on this
I had our AI overlords just, you know, randomize the order.
Somehow, I guess, you know, it loves EMong because it said, hey, you get the first pick.
So, Emong's going to get the first pick in the draft.
This will work like a snake draft.
So it's going to go EMong, me, and then Ryan.
And then it will reverse and go Ryan, me, and then EMong.
We're going to draft four rounds.
We're crafting a football team.
So the skilled positions, so you have to draft a quarterback, a running back, and two wide receivers
from the Overwatch roster.
If somebody drafts a character,
you don't get that character after that.
So you got to be smart
because if you think there's just one absolute lock
at a position and you don't take it,
you risk losing it for later on in the draft.
And then we'll craft these teams
and then we'll let the listeners decide
who they think put together the best football team.
All right, Imong, no pressure,
but you have the first pick.
You can pick whichever position you want
and the character you want.
Who are you starting with?
I'm actually going to start running back.
It's going to be Diva.
Diva at running back.
Oh, I'm going to take my pick.
Okay.
I like it.
And the reason being...
Why Diva?
Well, the reason being is because I think about this with Diva, right?
You want, you know, you obviously want your goal line back,
but in this situation, we're doing like an overall team.
I think is Diva as the ability to both be able to be a good run blocker on third
downs, you know, that kind of drop-off player you can have,
go get the catch in the middle of the field type of running back.
also can spread the field, you know, go outside.
You know, kind of like Kenneth Walker was, right?
You know, that style of going outside.
Diva has the speed.
Like I said, has the ability to block.
I mean, that's perfect, right?
When you have a really good receiver in running back,
who can also go out wide and be fast,
and on top of that, you know, can hit a good block on like, you know,
a linebacker or a blitz, I couldn't think of a perfect option,
a better option, right?
She's got that little knockback too.
That's a CMC style, you know, a little CECD.
No, you're not supposed to support it.
That's a horrible fit.
I mean, it's a good pick.
I totally would have not ever picked that.
It's not who I would have picked, but it is a good pick.
And he did a good job of selling it.
I know.
That's what I'm seeing.
Stop.
Stop encouraging it.
I'm not worried yet.
I don't worry.
I got a roster.
Let me show you how this is done.
I too am going running back.
But I'm taking Malga.
And I'm taking Malga for one reason and one reason only.
Go on.
And that is Malga is unstoppable when he does his charge.
nothing can stop him.
And when I need to punch that football into the end zone,
I want a guy that nobody can stop.
So I'm taking Malga as my running back.
Is he useless when it's off cool down?
Maybe, but he's still a big hefty guy and he's fast.
I mean, we've all seen him charging at us.
So, you know, I'm going Malga for my pick.
Let's wait for third down and then he can just get the first.
Yeah, you're good to go.
Yeah, what are they going to do?
He's like a joker guy.
He's unstoppable.
I mean, a goal line back is.
amazing to have. How many times we watch our teams
get stuck on, you know, first
and two, and then next thing you know, it's fourth
and one, and they run the same play up the middle.
So you need that.
All right. All right, Ryan, you
get back to back picks here, so Ryan's
got a chance to snatch up
some characters here. What's your first
pick, Ryan? So my first pick
is one that you want, that
is the most important
player on the field.
Is your quarterback?
It's my quarterback.
And we're going to go with somebody good.
We're going to go with Soldier 76.
A QB?
Okay.
At QB.
You want someone with a precision, a tactical leader, someone that got the wide receivers
or the running back in their sights.
He's got a precision pass.
He's got good accuracy.
Yeah, good accuracy.
You're going to hit those long balls.
Like, it's pretty stout man.
I mean, he's no, he's no, you know, big, big.
hazard or anything like that, but he's good, he's stout, and he's going to make,
uh, he's going to make, uh, he's going to make all the throws.
You like the mobile quarterbacks too.
I was going to say he's mobile.
He's mobile.
Yeah, he's going to, you got your Lamar Jackson style.
You know, yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.
The visor, I mean, you know, not that I'm trying to hype up your picks here.
I should be slinging these.
Do it.
Do it. Give me more.
Give me more.
He's got, he's got, you know, he's got the aim bot, basically.
So he's not missing that pass either.
Oh, oh, absolutely.
And, and, and you know who he's going to throw the pass to?
Oh, who?
An undefendable receiver
called Tracer.
Tracer is wide receiver?
The Tracer as wide receiver?
It's very slight, but very fast, very quick,
able to run the most precise routes
and will disappear on those cornerbacks.
You will not catch Tracer,
and Soldier's going to hit that touchdown pass every time.
Isn't Tracer like five feet tall?
Wouldn't she be a hard target?
Look at how tall is Tyreek Hill?
I don't know.
He's fast.
He's fast.
I think Tyreeks like six three or something like that.
There's no way.
I'm pretty sure Tyreeks taller than six foot, man.
Also, I love that you use a guy that's like not even really in the league anymore at the same time.
All right.
Tracer is your wide risk.
5.10.
5.10 is Tyree Kille.
He's only 510?
5.10.
I told you.
That makes me feel so much.
better. I'm as tall as Tyreek Hill.
There you go. Oh, I'm not.
Virtually identical. You guys are like the same.
Imong's like, I'm not.
Close, right? I'm 5.7.3.4th.
I had Tracer as a backup option for running back
because I figured it's going to be easy to get her the ball
and then you're not tackling her with the blinks.
She just better not recall because that'll get her in trouble with the coaches.
A little bit.
Okay. I don't want to lose my quarterback.
So I am going to draft my quarterback next.
And for the quarterback, Ryan, I kind of, I'm with you.
I want somebody that's mobile, but I want somebody that knows how to just chuck something to people, you know,
somebody that has, you know, a speed boost and as tough as nails because you want that QB that's not going down the first time they get sacked.
I'm taking Junker Queen as my QB.
Hey, if she can lob Gracie
Like she does she can lob a football
Like she can lob Gracie into people
I'm in, she's got great accuracy
She's got the shout that makes her super fast
She's tough
She's got the small hit box
So she's hard to tackle
So I'm taking Junker Queen as my QB
That's a good pick
I like that for your QB
I like that
I don't I think it's horrible
No man, what's good
I mean Junker Queen's fun to play anyway
I love that hero she is so fun to play
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right,
Among,
so we're back to you.
You get back-to-back picks on this now.
You've got your running back,
and so you won't need one of those.
Who are you taking next?
Well, if I get back-to-back
because of the snake draft,
I'm going to go with,
you know what,
quarterback's going to be Reinhardt.
It comes in with a built-in offensive line
due to his shield.
Therefore, automatically,
I now have just a general edge.
No one can really get to the quarterback ever.
So I like the shield.
He can charge,
means that he can kind of go, you know, he's not going to be kind of more like the Drake May style.
You know how Drake May, like he doesn't flash when he runs, but he can run really well.
Very much like that. Obviously, as a Patriots fan how to get that in there.
Yep. Yeah. So like, you know, you have that and he can kind of get out of certain situations.
Like I said, he has his charge. You know, he had not as mobile like as you would if you had a really,
really fast quarterback. But again, you have a built an offensive line. How many times have we
watched a team who's good just lose because they don't have a line? I just did. I watch a Super Bowl of
that. Right. There you go. So like when you don't have a, when you don't have a good offensive
of line, things don't go well.
Even if you have, I mean, Joe Burrow, you know, I mean, like,
when you have a quarterback who doesn't have that line.
So, Ryan Hart comes with that, and I think that's automatically
a win right there. And you're like, well, who's
Ryan going to pass to? Well, you talked about fast, right?
Well, I got faster for you. I have reckon ball as my wide receiver.
Oh, that's my big. He's on the list.
And keep in mind, Ryan has a thing called
Firestrike, right? So he throws,
he has some heat on that ball. You have
record ball, get behind the safeties. That's, that is a touchdown
down every play. They just don't run the play because I don't want to run up the score.
Dang it. That's a good. All right. Okay.
Imong's kind of good at this. Ryan.
No, we also have our first steal. I was going to do Ryan Hart as my running back.
That would have been good too. That's the first steal. We got our first poach there.
So that was good. That's, dang it. I don't like his team because it's good.
It's all right. It's all right. We're still in this, Ryan. We're still in this.
All right. So it's back to me. I am going with a wide receiver. I don't want to lose this
One of the things with a wide receiver is you need somebody that can go up for the ball.
You know, when the QB throws the ball, when Junker Queen's just lobbing that Hail Mary pass,
you need that receiver that can just get over everybody else.
I'm taking Farah as my wide receiver so that she's got that jump jet.
She can hover in the air.
Nobody's out jumping her.
She's catching this ball.
She's coming down with it.
So I am taking Farah.
I always say Farrah.
I know.
I say Farrah too.
Yeah.
It's sending to the wrist.
I think it's Oresa.
Like sometimes I get things wrong.
I try my best.
I just go with what my brain tells me.
Exactly.
That's usually what most people do.
Whatever you think, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, all right.
So Farah's wide receiver for me.
All right.
Ryan, give us one pick.
And then I'm going to recap the teams real quick before we get into the final round to see who
pulls this out.
So you got a pick, Ryan?
Yes.
So, gosh.
Well, now that my running back's gone.
I'm going to go with my other wide receiver.
I am going to go with somebody that is just next level acrobatics and maybe a ninja.
I'm going to go with Genji.
If it makes you feel any better, you now stole from me, by the way.
Oh, wow, yeah.
That's why I had in my mind for the next one.
Steels for steals.
I love it.
Yeah.
So you got to have Genji.
that begins you with Tracer on the outside.
What are you going to do?
And Soldier throwing the ball?
Dude, I just, yeah.
You went speed.
I went speed.
I went slight in speed.
If you had a big team who are dead, you just hit us once, you know?
We're pretty cooked.
But, uh, but yeah, if you can't catch us, you know, we'll win.
I like that one.
You got to, you got to get them the ball is the hard part.
That's the hard part.
They're not very big characters, but if they get the ball in space, they're probably doing something with it.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah. All right. So before we head into our final round, here's the team so far. Okay. So Imong has Diva as running back.
Reinhardt as quarterback. That tush push would be nasty. And wrecking ball as a wide receiver. I have Malga as my running back. I have Junker Queen as my QB. And I have Farah as my one of my wide receivers. And Ryan went with team speed so far. Soldier 70.
as his QB, Tracer as his running back and, wait, no, Tracer as your wide receiver.
Yeah, right?
Did I get that right?
Yeah, wide receiver and Genji is wide receiver.
So Ryan has, he's going running back on this next pick.
All right, this is the final round, boys.
This is where you got to put it all together.
Ryan, you need a running back.
Who are you taking?
This is hard.
Please say Bastion.
Please say Bastion is the slowest character in the game.
I just, I really feel like I want to keep the speed team going.
And I think I'm going to go, Lucio.
I am going to go.
Okay, I don't make that.
Fastest cuts in the league is going to hit the hole and you won't ever see them.
Just disappear and you're just going to not know where, not know what happened until you see the scoreboard, you know, when the points go up.
His boop is like a nasty stiff arm too.
Right.
You know, yeah, it doesn't even need a
It doesn't even need an offensive line.
Just boop them everybody.
Just boop them off the line, you're good to go.
You have a good stop step, too.
You can kind of like, you know, go to heel boost very quickly,
kind of make them all fall over and then go speed boost again.
There you go.
Some good moves.
Can you can Lucio Walride off of like defenders, you think?
Yeah, why not?
In this world, why not?
Just off the top.
Just boom, boom.
Okay, Lucio might be a better pick than I thought.
I mean, Markley did it, yeah.
Yeah, that's right.
Team speed, baby.
Ryan is absolute just speed over everything else.
Okay, I need my second wide receiver.
I am going to, man, I'm torn.
I've got so, I mean, do I just go team flyer here?
And you know what?
Don't do it.
Don't do it.
I'm taking Echo because not only, look, I'm taking Echo's,
but not only because Echo is a flyer and she's,
she can, again, just like Faris, she can get over,
over people to catch the football.
But let's say, like, you know,
Emong's Wrecking Ball is just crushing it and having the game of his life.
Guess what Echo can do?
She's all, I'll just duplicate Wrecking Ball then.
So she's got that flexibility to kind of just adapt to the game situation as well.
So I'm taking Echo as my other wide receiver.
Team Flyers.
I like that.
I like the theme.
I like the themes we all got here.
Yeah.
I don't think there's any theme to mine.
I love that part about it too.
And also the Echo Pick,
I do like that. That one was under the radar.
I feel like being able to copy what everybody else does is a solid pick.
Yeah.
All right, Imong, you are the last pick.
Who are you taken to round out your team?
So for this one initially, I was going to go with Genji because obviously that was going to be.
I just like the idea of Genji.
But then I was like, you know what, who would be a better slot receiver, right?
I got my deep threat.
But you got to, you know, you got to stretch the field, but you also got to have the middle of the field available.
And there's a hero that not everybody likes nowadays.
You know, some people in the lore may not love her at all either.
She may be the leader of talent currently.
I am going with Vendetta.
She has the mobility.
She has a giant sword.
She has that confidence that not many, you know, not many.
You don't see that in a lot of the characters.
Like, oh, there's one of the character I just saw it about.
We'll talk about that one after.
He'll be the coach.
Even though you said no coaches, but we're going to, I'm going with one.
We got time.
No, that's fine.
But Vendetta, I just think she's going to fit that perfect slot receiver.
Right in the middle of the field.
She has that spin move.
She can spin.
She has the ability to block, you know, again, as you can tell, I love, I'm a Patriots fan.
And they always talked about blocking receivers and all that.
So you got to show respect for the blocks, you know.
Bronc was a great tight end because he was a blocker too.
There you go.
You know, I love those.
But I think Vendetta is perfect.
Hey, it's why they're sticking with Romandre right now too over Tritian.
Exactly.
You know?
Yeah, because he can, yeah, which is weird because, you know,
Henderson actually was known for his blocking in college.
So it's very surprising that he's like not as good at third down blocking yet.
But you'll get there.
Yeah.
You know, it's rookie stuff.
But yeah, no, vendetta is that.
And then if I was going to just do an honorary coach, I would go Sigma.
Sigma is the.
Oh, that was my coach.
No, are you serious?
Are you wrong?
I was like, there's no weight.
Like, okay, so we were going to, let's just do it.
Let's do it.
We were going to draft a coach.
And then we were like, hey, we don't want to, you know, we don't want to take up too much of Ymong's time here.
So we tried to pair it down.
But now that you just stole my coach.
Like, oh.
I'm a Patriots fan.
What do you mean?
Remember what happened to the Jets?
You know, they had Belichick for like, you know, like a couple days.
It's a Patriot thing, you know?
Dang it, man.
Dang it.
You got Snake,
brother?
But why Sigma is the coach?
He's just a strong,
believe it or not,
and the lore,
he's one of the strongest
in the universe.
Like, he literally is like the,
you don't mess with Sigma.
And I just,
you know,
he can control gravity.
He has all these,
like,
and plus he has cool music.
You know,
he's in the background going,
you know what I mean?
Like, he has all of that strength.
Also, has a bit of a wild side.
Sometimes you need that coach
with a little bit,
you know,
extra edge to kind of get on the reps
if they're not making good calls.
And I think,
Sigma would be the one to do that.
No, Sigma, don't throw that. No, no.
I'm just envisioning him, you know, manipulating gravity from the sidelines and kind of helping out a little bit here.
Just a little whoops.
It might be a little obvious if the gravity is only heck it up on one team and you have Sigma staying in there.
Right?
Yeah, like, well, this ball's really floating.
That was a 72-yard field goal, everybody.
That's a norm now.
What do you mean?
I know, right?
Or around the 35.
Ryan, do you have, this is impromptu completely, but do you have a coach?
I'm going to hit one on the fly here and I'm going to go strictly because he's a robot.
So his calculation ability to design plays and set everything up is stellar.
I'm going to go with Bastion.
Bastion is the coach.
Yeah.
Okay.
I mean, he's singing his little songs on the sideline.
Just chilling as a robot, just setting things up.
Yeah, his calculations can just be like next level, you know.
We have a bird too.
So he also, the bashing also has like that assistant coach.
Gouting the enemy.
You come with an old.
You come with an offensive coordinator right on the side there and we're good to go.
Because let's be honest, my team's not going to play defense at all.
I was going to say, you're just trying.
Yeah, you're running up the offense.
You're the Bengals.
You're shooting threes if it was the NBA.
Yeah.
We're the running guns sons of the early 2000s.
You know, we're just, you know, just putting points on the board.
I love it.
Well, for me, I want a leader.
I want somebody that's brilliant.
I want somebody that is not afraid, like you said, to get into the
coaches and challenge those plays. I'm going with Winston. Winston's my boy. I think he'd make a
fantastic coach. You know, I could see him pulling those glasses off looking at somebody,
you know, hyping up the team. But I, yeah, my coach was going to be, it was going to be Sigma.
So I thought I was going to get through this draft without getting snaked on this one. And then
Emong snaked me with Sigma. So everybody always gets to snake. It does. I know. So I am going to go
with Winston too. You got to remember, he also was really good at like player management. I mean,
look at all of the people he has to deal with in the
Overwatch team. There's a lot of personality there.
Oh, yeah. So having a coach who can deal with every player
kind of be that player's coach, you know, so
that's also a little bit of a vision there.
All right. Well, real quick, here's the rundown.
We're going to make a graphic on this. We're going to put this on social
so that people can vote on this. We'll let the people
decide who they think put together the best team.
Emong, you've got Diva as your running back.
You've got Reinhart as your quarterback.
You've got Wrecking Ball and Vendetta as your wide receiver.
that's a tough wide receiver court.
They are not afraid to go over the middle of the field.
Yeah.
And then you've got Sigma as your coach.
I have Malga as my running back,
Juncker Queen as my quarterback.
I've got Team Air with Farah and Echo as my wide receivers.
And I've got Winston as my coach.
Ryan went with full team speed and then the slowest guy in Overwatch to manage that team here.
So he's got Soldier 76 as his quarterback.
he's got Tracer as a wide receiver paired with Genji on the other side of the field.
Lucio as his running back and Bastion as the coach.
Guys, these are pretty good teams.
I think these are good teams.
I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to lie.
I don't like how good Emong did on this draft.
Normally we're like do pretty good and we snake a couple of the other person's picks.
But yeah, he did a good job.
That was on the fly too. I'll be honest with you.
That's why I wanted to do it.
So I wanted to just go with the feel.
And that was what I thought.
I love it.
I love it.
We're going with the gut kind of guys.
Kind of knew where to go.
Yeah.
So, all right.
Listen, listeners, we need your help.
We might need your votes on this one.
We're doing bias voting.
You play this game.
I don't know.
Yeah, I know.
He's like, I got a lot more.
We're like, okay, okay, okay.
Hold on.
Like, Yvong won 98% to 1% for Josh and 1% for Ryan?
I don't know why.
Why are you guys negative percentage?
Like, what?
Why don't all these votes happen?
the exact time he called it out on stream.
What the heck?
Right?
That's crazy.
That's weird.
Hey, we respect the game, man.
If you want to, if you want to go there, we would.
I mean, we might.
I'll tell my mom and she'll tell everybody.
That could be a huge network, though, if you think about it.
There you go.
That's a lot more.
That's awesome.
All right.
Well, listen, Imong, you have been fantastic, man.
We cannot thank you enough for coming on the show and just hanging out with us for a little bit.
letting our listeners get to know a little bit more about you, having some fun with a draft.
I mean, honestly, this has just been an absolute pleasure for us.
We were, you know, I'm going to, you know, peek behind the curtain.
We were kind of geeking out over this beforehand.
But to just, you know, to have you come on the show, hang out with us, has been absolutely
awesome.
One thing we always like to ask people, and I'm sorry to kind of put you on the spot on this,
but are, you know, are there any charities, are there any projects or anything like that
that you're working on or have coming up that you want to let people know about?
Um, not nothing at the top of my mind that I'm currently working on, but like, you know, when it comes to charities, like obviously, you know, Overwatch's at BCRF, you know, which was huge. Because, you know, my aunt, you know, had it years ago, which was, which was huge. Um, my, uh, my, my wife is a speech language pathologist, so she works with a lot of, you know, students in that area. So anything that is revolved around that. That's what my mom does. Really? Yeah. Oh, that's awesome. Look at the network. See, I'm saying. Like, you know, my wife would have found out to vote for you for you all. Like what the? There. There you go. Yeah. So, you know, anything involved.
I will say my research sometimes isn't as deep on that.
So, like, I always want to make sure I do my, you know, my, my bed in first before I really
suggest something on that.
But anything in that area is obviously super important.
Well, I'll tell you what, if something comes up, reach out to us.
Because we, we do set aside some money for charity.
And it's one of those things that we would absolutely love to partner with you on if,
if, you know, there's something, you know, we'd make a donation.
What's that?
Like, vice versa, though.
Like, something that y'all are passionate about you tell me and I'll do the same.
absolutely yeah we will we'll chat about this we've got we've got a few different things we've actually
worked with make a wish uh we had we had them on the show at one point um kind of got to you know we talked
about gaming wishes and stuff like that we've donated to the bungee foundation um which does a lot
of good charity work and stuff too so we'll uh we'll keep in touch but like said we always like
to just ask in case there's something uh that people want to put out there listen everybody
emong is awesome uh and i'm not just saying this because he's on the show uh he is
you know, he's an incredible streamer. He's an incredible person. He is family friendly just like this show. So all of you kids out there, you know, he makes it to where you are able to watch his stream and keeps gaming accessible to everybody. This is one of the things that I love because again, when I mentioned this to my daughter, the first words out of her mouth were dad, no way. And then second, I love him. He's such, he's such a good guy. He's family friendly. He doesn't cuss on his streams and stuff like that. So that is rare in gaming nowadays. So we absolutely appreciate that as well. So make sure you, you
go follow Imong on social media,
follow him, subscribe on his Twitch and all that.
Let us know what you thought of the draft
and who you thought won on that one.
We'll make a graphic.
We'll post that to social media.
Emong, you rock, brother.
Thank you so much, man, for this.
This has been an absolute blast.
So thanks for hanging out with us.
That's going to do it for this episode, everybody.
Until next time, happy gaming.
See ya.
I don't know what to say.
