Starting point is 00:00:00 The Hulu original series Furious is coming to Disney Plus, starring Emmy Rossum. Furious follows FBI agent Alice Black on the hunt for a mysterious and calculating serial killer. Both walk their own paths toward justice, and as their lives start to intertwine, the line between right and wrong begins to blur. Don't miss the three-episode premiere of the Hulu original series Furious on July 27th, only on Hulu on Disney Plus. Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the Video Gamers podcast. What are some of the most anticipated games in the world right now?
Starting point is 00:00:50 Well, sure, GTA6 is, but what about everything else? Are you missing out on a potential all-timer? Well, on today's episode, we're breaking down the top 10 most wish-listed games on Steam. These are the games that make publishers drool and gamers excited, and we're about to break it all down. But before we get to that, some introductions are in order. I am your host, Josh. And joining me, we had to tell him this isn't a GTA6 episode.
Starting point is 00:01:23 And he had to give these other games some time. And he didn't like it at all. It's Ryan. All right. So GTA6 guys coming up, it's going to. No, I'm kidding. Yeah. I had to throw this in there just so Ryan doesn't keep going.
Starting point is 00:01:39 Like, well, GTA6, that's the, that's the, that's the, wish lists. I'm surprised that it's not everybody that would have wishlisted it just already bought it. That's why they made a bajillion dollars already. It's also on PC. It's not even on Steam. You can't wish list it because they're stupid and didn't want to do a simultaneous release.
Starting point is 00:01:55 That's true. It's freaking idiots. Yeah. And joining us, he was very pleased to find out there's a couple indie games on this list. And honestly, it's great to see smaller indie studios competing with the
Starting point is 00:02:09 juggernauts. It's a I mean, not too long ago, there was an indie on this list that probably took the top spot. And that was Silk Song. Silk Song? Yeah. Yep. Yep. Moving on.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Moving on. All right. Let's go. Ryan, she's behind you. Yeah. Oh, no. This is a fun. I'm actually, this is a cool episode, man.
Starting point is 00:02:32 We kind of had this idea because, you know, it's summer. We've got the fall rolling around with the plethora of games coming for the rest of this year. And it kind of got us thinking, like, what? are the games that everybody out there is looking forward to? And then you can actually check the Steam wish list because it's through the Steam database. You can see what the most wishlisted games are. And it ranks all of them. Now, the one thing that we don't get is the actual number of wish lists.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Steam doesn't give us that information. So this is just in order of the games that are wishlisted. And we're just going to trust that Steam knows how to order things. numerical format there. But yeah, I mean, if these are any of these games you are not familiar with, this is kind of why we're doing this episode. This is also to remind you what's out there. A lot of these games, honestly, don't even have release dates yet.
Starting point is 00:03:27 You know, but hey, they showed off enough to get people excited. So if we know the release date or at least a year, we'll let you know on those as well. But these are the games that you should absolutely at least. know about. All right. And that's kind of why we're doing this episode so that as they get closer to release, you will be in the know. How do you boys want to do this?
Starting point is 00:03:49 You want to start at number 10 and work our way up? Yeah, let's work our way up to number one spot. Let's do that. Yeah. Okay, I like that. All right, Ace, why don't you tell the people what, because this is, this is kind of your genre. Let's be honest.
Starting point is 00:04:00 And so I'm going to let you start off with number 10. And what is it? At number 10, we have ill. Very famous game on. The game doesn't exist. The game doesn't exist. It's not a real game. That's not a real game at all.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Yeah. Someone here may have drafted said game for their list. And it ain't coming out this year. We did get a confirmation of Ill's coming out next year. But it was the game that nobody believed exists because it looked just too real, too weird. Too good. Yeah. Too good to be true.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Yep. And I'm kind of shocked to see it at number 10. I did not expect to see ill on this list. Dude, when you make a game that looks like this game does, and then you prove that it actually is a real game, it is going to garner attention. Just plain and simple. There's also, I was doing a little bit of research on,
Starting point is 00:04:57 on like the top wishlisted games and how that kind of works. I was trying to get numbers for people to kind of see if we could actually say the number of wish lists. but did you know that horror games and especially cooperative horror games are some of the most wishlisted games out there? Like they're the games that are easiest to get wish list for apparently. No, I didn't know that. I figured horror was such like a niche genre. Like, you know, so many people are very squeamish about it.
Starting point is 00:05:24 I doubt it. I figured it'd be hard. The thing is, though, is that it may be niche, but the people that like it like it. Yeah, you're not wrong. You're not wrong. They like always, they're the ones that are going to wishless the game. where other genres or other other kind of types of games, maybe you want to play it and maybe you would plan on playing it,
Starting point is 00:05:43 but you're not going to go out and like wishlisted or be, you know, anticipating it and you'll just get it when it comes out. The horror genre and these types of games, like those people, they love those games. And this one actually is one that we all, all three of us.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Oh, we're all very excited. Yeah, we're all very excited for this one. Dude, if you haven't watched a trailer for ill, you stop what you're doing. and watch a trailer for this. We also got a heightened look. Another look at Ill. Which showcase was it?
Starting point is 00:06:12 Was it? It wasn't the Summer Games Fest, was it? Was it the Xbox showcase, maybe? Maybe it was the Xbox showcase. There was a lot. At one of those summer showcases, we got another look at ill. And, dude, this game is bananas. It just looks unreal.
Starting point is 00:06:28 I love the horror style on this, too, with these weird blobby. It's like humans that don't have bones and they have, like, jelly for bones. no, man. They move really weird. It's creepy as anything. Body horror to the max. It looks fantastic. It's a must play. Like, Ill to me is an absolute must play game when it comes out. Ryan's been doing some research. So according to the AI overlords, ill has surpassed the one million wish lists. So we're going to try to guess. It's ill being at number 10 with at least a million wish lists tells you that every other game we're going to talk about. has a lot of wish lists, a lot.
Starting point is 00:07:08 So this is why I said in the intro that this gets publishers excited because it's like, bro, if we have a million wish list right now, like that's a lot of money that's about to start rolling through when these games actually release. Ill is slated to release in 2027. That is probably going to happen. This game's been in development a while and they're starting to show off the war and more. You don't think so?
Starting point is 00:07:28 Yeah. No, I think it's been so long. Like, they can't. I think it'll launch in 2027. Yeah. It might be mid to late. It might be late. I'm pretty confident it'll release.
Starting point is 00:07:37 So all right, Ryan, I know you're super excited for this game. I was going to talk about this one. But why don't you tell everybody what the number nine most wishlisted game on the list is. Have you ever, has anyone ever played a game that they don't want to play? Yeah, I think everyone has done that at least once.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Yeah. Well, uh, what you will reach, uh, for in which brook? is that a game that i i i just don't understand i don't know if this is this is i'm sure a lot of people are going to love this game but i just i cannot understand it to me it's it's it's a cozy weird um uh it looks like it came out in 2004 oh go ahead did you call
Starting point is 00:08:28 this game witchbrook ryan yeah i i think you mean hoggworth's leg Legacy Pixel Edition. Oh, is that what it is? Is that? Because this is 100% just Hogwarts legacy in pixel format, man. So naturally, that's what I'd be more enticed to play than the game that actually looks good, right? Yeah, that's what I want to do.
Starting point is 00:08:49 I want to go play this game and then I just want to probably do some sort of sim stuff because that's what these games always do. I am not going to be your fan. I'm not going to be your friend. Anyone who wants to play this game or loves this game or is anticipating this game, you're missing out with me. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Josh picked me to tell you about this. I did that for a reason. I need you to get roasted on the internet, Ryan. You can roast me all you want. These things, I just don't understand why you would create something and just dial back time. It's, it's, I don't, I, I, it's hard to put into words, honestly. Like, I'm going to get obliterated and I don't care. It's stupid.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Why would you want? want to play something like this. It's dumb. I understand it's the most wish listed game. Top, what is this? It was a nine? This is number nine. This is number nine. This is number nine. This is number nine. It's millions, millions of people want to play this game. And I don't understand why.
Starting point is 00:09:52 It's one of those big online like co-op hangout games. You know, you go get online with your friends and do magical witchy stuff together. And you can fly around on a broom. You have magic, make spells. You go to school. You become a wagerie. I don't know. Start a bakery? Really?
Starting point is 00:10:08 That's your selling point Aces? I'm going to start a pixel bakery. I'm sorry, you don't have any ambitions to be a baker, Ryan. No, I don't have any of this. You don't want to get that bread. I really wish. I really wish you would become a baker because I don't need my garage floor done, but if you were a baker, I'd be totally, like, hitting you up.
Starting point is 00:10:23 Hey, Ryan, can I get some more loaves of bread? You get some more loaves of bread? No, this is, this is something that I really, I really think a lot of people are going to be anticipating this game. People are going to love, absolutely love this game. If you're a cozy gamer, if you're somebody who loves witchcraft and wizardry and that world, you're going to love this and it's probably going to sit for you. I personally think it's the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:10:52 So good luck to you, and I wish you the best. Four people on my friends list have this game wishlisted. How many? Four people on my friends list already have this game wishlisted. Yeah, I will say this. I'm with Ryan. I don't love cozy games. I will say that if you want to get an idea of which Brooke is, it looks like Star Doe Valley meets Hogwarts.
Starting point is 00:11:14 It is Harry Potter in a Star Do Valley. It's got a little bit more detail than Star Do, I would say. Well, that's not hard to do, Ace. All right, you're getting it. Ace is just shaking. He's like, I don't want any part of this. I'm not. I will say two times the pixels.
Starting point is 00:11:32 It's not my genre, but I can appreciate a good looking video or not a good looking game, but a game that looks like it's going to be good. Wishbrook looks like it has it all. So for the cozy gamers out there, you absolutely need to know what Witchbrook is. This game looks massive. It does have cooperative elements to it. You can play with friends. It's huge.
Starting point is 00:11:55 I get why it's on the top 10 wishlisted games because it is one of the best looking cozy games that I have seen. in the scale of the game. Again, not the pixel graphics, but just the scale of the game. All right. I'm going to take this next one because this game ain't never releasing, ever.
Starting point is 00:12:12 It's never going to happen. All you people out there with your hopium and stuff, ARC 2 is the number eight on the most wish listed games list. It's not happening, people. It's not. Never.
Starting point is 00:12:28 I don't, like, my daughter is the biggest fan of ARC ever. Yeah, they announced When did they announce this? Like if you watch the trailer for Arc Bro, watch the trailer for Arc 2. It says 2023, I think. Oh, 20203 is what they announced it?
Starting point is 00:12:43 It's like a 60 second trailer with zero gameplay with freaking Vin Diesel riding a dinosaur at the end of it. That's all the matters. It's family, bro. Vin Diesel's going to be dead before this game ever comes out, man. And then that's going to create some kind of licensing issue. It's not happening people. It's not.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Like, I know they wanted to happen, but it's just not happening. Arc 2 was officially announced December 10th, 2020. Oh, 2020. During the Game Awards. The gameplay is already there. And here's why I know it's not coming out, because what's the Ark survival, they just did their whole remastered version of Mark. Ascended.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Is it Arc Survival Ascended? I think is the name of it. Forgive me, I'm not. Because the original was evolved. My daughter loves Arc more than any other game in. the world. And I, she keeps talking about Arc 2 and I'm like, you're so naive. It's not going to, oh, you course, me a summer child. They don't want to, they don't want to play Vin Diesel, uh, the, that money for, for using his likeness.
Starting point is 00:13:43 Apparently not. They're just waiting for the guys. If Art 2 is going to happen, Arc survival ascended would not have happened. That's, that's my take on that. I think that's fair. I think it's a fair assumption. I'm not wishing that the game doesn't come out because I know people love Arc and if it ever does release, it'll probably be fantastic. If not super super unoptimized and buggy like we have come to no arc no in love no in love but no in love um we do know that they are targeting and this is the other thing that does not give me
Starting point is 00:14:12 confidence is it says they are targeting 2028 to the release date so this game was announced in 2020 so we're targeting it eight years later eight year development cycle when you already had the base game Like you had everything you needed initially. Like, oh. Who do they think they are? Bethesda?
Starting point is 00:14:36 What? Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Oh, let's check on Bethesda. I wear that. Oh, they're on strike. Yeah, they're not doing so hot right now. All right.
Starting point is 00:14:44 All right. So that's number eight. Uh, ace, why don't you give us this next one? All right. Our next one here is total Warhammer 40K, which I think Warhammer has a pretty big fan base. So I'm not surprised at all to see it up here, uh, in the most worst listed games. this is sort of a strategy RPG style game, which I didn't actually even know there were Warhammer games like that.
Starting point is 00:15:05 I thought they were all kind of third person. So this is the Total War series. Yeah. To be clear, this is the Total War, which is its own franchise. Okay. But this is Total War with the Warhammer 40K universe and factions and races
Starting point is 00:15:21 wrapped up into the Total War games. So it's just one big collab game, basically. Basically, yeah. Oh, okay. It's going to sell gangbusters. It's going to sell a gazillion copies. Here's the thing. Then cinematics are nice.
Starting point is 00:15:35 I like Warhammer. Like I love the like the characters are super cool. The dark fantasy sci-fi setting is super cool. All the different creepy races. I've played a few Warhammer games. Like I'm all about it. I'm not now I'm not a Warhammer nerd. So I'm not like super duper into the Warhammer War and all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:53 I played Space Marine 2 and that's kind of it. Yeah, I've played Vermin Tide, Dark Tide. you know, I know the basics of how like actual tabletop Warhammer is played. Here's the thing. This game looks freaking sweet, dude. Like, I have never been into the total war franchise. I'm not big into the like the managing your armies. It's it's real time strategy-esque.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Yeah. You can't really call in real-time strategy. It's, it's turn-based. But dude, you give me Warhammer universe in this kind of gameplay where you are sending the armies, like, out to fight each other. And you have the different units and stuff like that. And I'm in. Like, so for those that want to know, the, this is going to come with four of the playable
Starting point is 00:16:39 races. So you can command the space marines, which we all know because of space marine too. The orcs, uh, which people know just from World of Warcraft. And, you know, I'm sure Warhammer fans are groaning right now. But let's be honest, they kind of look the same. Um, the Aldari, which are your like a space elves. if I'm sorry, we're probably ticking off all the Warhammer nerds out there, but I'm pretty sure the Aldaria are like space elves.
Starting point is 00:17:04 And then the Astro Militarum, which is, I had to look this one up, but this is your like, your horde humans. So the space marines are your like genetically modified, engineered like Spartans. And then the Astro Militarum are like you're Zurgling. We're just going to throw a trillion human bodies at people with tanks and hope that they win through sheer numbers. Fodder. Helldivers, basically.
Starting point is 00:17:26 Yeah, basically. Yeah, yeah. I'm in. I'm in. I don't, like I said, I've never played a total war game. I do like Warhammer enough that it's going to Selby on this game. And I can see why this is in the top, what's this number seven wishlisted games? Because you're combining basically Warhammer, what Warhammer is with these factions going to war in the franchise that does it best, which is total war.
Starting point is 00:17:50 So this is a perfect match. It's those things where you find certain groups. that are for a specific type. Like Warhammer fans, they're not going to be like another fan of a video game or something coming out to where like, yeah, maybe a percentage of them will wishlisted or buy the game
Starting point is 00:18:12 or be excited about it. Warhammer people are like, they're all in every time. That's their life. Every time you talk to them and like you said, Josh, like, oh, we're going to get gruff for this. We probably will. But also we're talking about it.
Starting point is 00:18:25 So chill out. Back off. And we talk about it. Yeah, we're here. We're here. It's here. Check the timestamps. Let me point out, we're talking about it favorably.
Starting point is 00:18:32 Yeah, every one. It's on the internet. Yeah. So like, it's there. It's not heresy. It's not heresy. There's a reason. Yeah, don't send us to the emperor.
Starting point is 00:18:41 There's, there's a reason that it's top 10, you know, is because those people are so adamant and so steadfast to their belief of this game and what it's going to be in any format. So I'm not surprised to see that it's here in the top 10 list for sure. Yeah. This also combines, we're about to move on, but this also combines, I think that the reason this fits so well is this is almost like what Warhammer plays like. You're sending your hordes up against the other team.
Starting point is 00:19:08 You have your different units. See what happens. I think this is so close to what Warhammer, the tabletop game actually is, that it really, really is interested people that are fans of Warhammer as well. So, all right, I'm going to skip, I'm going to take this next one, Ryan, because I think I'm a little bit more familiar with this game than you are. and I know that you want to talk about the one that's after that. So I'll be honest, I don't know what the heck this game's doing on the top 10 most wish listed games.
Starting point is 00:19:34 In all honesty, dude. And I'm not trying to throw a shade, but it's like the game was fairly mid. I'll throw shade. It was, you know, seven and a half, maybe, maybe an eight out of ten kind of game. But number six on the most wishlisted games is Dragons Dogma 2 Dark Arisen.
Starting point is 00:19:53 So this is the expansion to Dragons Dogma 2. which, you know, we were super duper excited for Dragons Dogma 2 when that game released. You were very hype. It was a fine game. It just wasn't like the most amazing game that I thought it was going to be. I don't know. It just kind of missed a mark. Again, it's not a bad game.
Starting point is 00:20:16 But I am honestly kind of surprised to see Dragons Dogmatu, Darker Rizden, on the top 10 most wishlisted games list. Maybe that makes me wrong. I don't know but here we are no you're not you're not wrong dude you're not wrong we played that game um
Starting point is 00:20:35 was it Paul Paul liked it a little bit right Paul liked it a lot was a fan of it and that's that's kind of a Paul style game but I don't know I felt like it was just linear but empty and it didn't it didn't I can't stand that give us what we thought it would be
Starting point is 00:20:53 and I don't know it just from what we anticipated in what we expected it was not there and so for it to be top 10 in the wish list that like that's that's surprising to me like I would never have thought people would have like maybe the
Starting point is 00:21:09 yeah some people liked it and they wanted like a continuation yeah a continuation like are we that excited about an expansion like really for this it's it's surprising to me it's for sure surprising maybe they forgot how it was and they only remember the hype moments maybe I also have come to realize I do not like
Starting point is 00:21:25 companions. I don't want I don't want pawns. I don't want AI companions with me. I want to be the hero in the game and I don't want somebody tagging along. Like a vow did this where you had like your little companion that could follow you around and choose who you're, I don't like it. I don't know why. Like it's one thing if it's an RPG where I'm building a party. Main character syndrome. I mean, maybe like legitimately maybe it's me. It's only me. If it is an RPG where I need a party of characters a final fantasy, right?
Starting point is 00:21:54 Or something like that, I'm fine with it because the game is made to be played that way, but I still control those characters in combat and things like that. Expedition 33,
Starting point is 00:22:02 perfect example, right? Like, you pick who you want to go with you and then you, but you play them. Dragon Stogma 2 with these AI controlled pawns that they called them, I just don't,
Starting point is 00:22:11 they don't interest me at all. Like, get out of my way. I want to be the guy at that point. So, I don't know. All right. We're going to take a quick break and then we're coming back with your top five
Starting point is 00:22:21 and oh baby is all I'm going to say. We'll be right back after this break. All right. We're back, Ryan. I didn't forget about you. I'm not going to skip you, buddy. I feel like you're excited about this next game. I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:22:39 So Josh and Ace, actually, and everybody out there listening, what if I was to give you, you know, a good old Ford Ranger? And then you had an old four ranger, a little pickup truck. And then I gave you a AK-47. or a grenade launcher or a rocket launcher or something sweet. And then I just... It sounds like a good time's about to happen. And then I just decided that, I don't know, maybe put you in medieval times where
Starting point is 00:23:03 everyone's walking around in iron armor and you can just destroy everything. Well, that's what you get when you get the good old game that was supposedly coming soon from many, many years ago. Many, many years ago. Called Kingmakers. I think we drafted it in one of our drafts like a little. last year or two. This is a...
Starting point is 00:23:28 How would you describe this game? Like, just kind of a... A hoard? A board? I don't know. Sandbox, like, an open world sandbox hoard. It kind of reminds me of tabs, honestly. Yeah, yeah, I can see that. There's more to it than tabs, though.
Starting point is 00:23:40 But more, like, more involved, like, personalized tabs. Yeah, it's more involved than tabs, but it's got, like, the same kind of vibe to it where you've got your army and you're directly controlling, like, one guy in a giant truck with AK-47s. and then they've got their army and you're going to wipe them out. Exactly. And you're running around and you could drive. It's just,
Starting point is 00:24:00 it's bringing new modern age tech to an old ancient battle, which is what we all used to do in like cheat codes or whatever. We also always would try to change things and make things different, more advantageous for us. So I'm very excited for this one. I wish it would eventually at some point come out. I don't know when that's going to be. But it's top five on the list.
Starting point is 00:24:23 So this one, this one, if you haven't seen it yet, Kingmakers, check it out. One day maybe it'll come out. It's bananas. The trailer's worth a watch. You'll never see another game like it. What's the trailer and you're like, what? You're like, that's an actual game. It's like when you have a dream and nothing makes sense, that's what this game is. Like it all, it all kind of comes to some crazy accumulation.
Starting point is 00:24:46 Yeah, that's a good way to put it. Yeah. That's a great way to put it. You had a dream and it doesn't make sense. And then you're like, oh, it's this game. Yeah, that's what you get. Yeah. We've been covering Kingmakers for a while now.
Starting point is 00:24:56 I mean, a couple of years now. I remember when this game was first announced, we were like, this is going to be every Twitch streamer's dream. We even said, like I distinctly remember saying, like, this is probably going to be like a two-week game
Starting point is 00:25:09 before it falls off. That's actually wrong. And this is why the game hasn't released yet, is the studio came out and said, look, we actually have really big plans for this game. The people are so excited for this that we're going to make the game.
Starting point is 00:25:23 that we wanted to make, which is why they have delayed it. They said, we want to make sure every feature that we want in the game is in there, so we're not going to rush it. We're not going to sacrifice our vision for the game to just release it early. I think ultimately Kingmakers is going to be a fully fledged video game. They're talking about their quest structure and how you're trying to, you have these objectives that you have to accomplish. Every building in the game is fully destructible.
Starting point is 00:25:48 So they had these dreams, and they're trying to make these dreams a reality. That's not easy with the scale of what they're going for. I actually did some research on this. One of the issues is they're using Unreal Engine 4. So they're not using Unreal Engine 5 because Unreal Engine 4 is more optimized and for the number of like enemies that you see. I mean, we're talking hordes of nights, dude. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:12 And then destructible environments. So like I think they're, you know, that's a lot of processing that needs to happen. The one downside is, is that even when they do. do release, they are still planning on releasing an early access. So we got delayed indefinitely because now it just says coming soon. They won't even give a projected year on this one. And then when it does release, it's going to release into early access, which we're not fans of either.
Starting point is 00:26:41 But Kingmakers, there's no other game like it. It looks stupid, stupid fun, dude. I can't wait to get my hands on this one. So, yeah, that's really cool. All right. Ace, man, I don't know. know how I timed this or set this up perfectly because here is another horror game. I know, right?
Starting point is 00:26:59 For Ace. Tell us about an Ace. What is it? All right. In our number four spot here, we have a game called Blight Survival, which I think I've brought up before because I'm actually very, very excited for this game. We've covered this game on some twigs before. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:14 We've definitely talked about it before. But Blight Survival is like this PV action horror game, which you can have, you and up to three buddies will enter. basically a zombie apocalypse in the medieval era. And you'll basically be playing these knights taking out zombies and ghouls and whatever the heck else is around, just trying to survive. And now that we've played like the Omen, the mound, the mound or whatever, it feels very much like that except for you're the monster.
Starting point is 00:27:42 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Dude, blight survival looks incredible, dude. I mean, the presentation in this game is second to none. It is number four on the most wish listed because I think that this game stands out. Graphically, and speaking, it's incredible. The idea of having these medieval fully played armored knights going around and fighting off like basically what amounts to zombies.
Starting point is 00:28:09 Yeah. You know, this plague. Plague. Yeah. It's like this plague. It's almost like clickers because you see some fungus on a wall. So it's like it's something is messing up everybody. It is dark.
Starting point is 00:28:20 It is gritty. it is violent and it is badass looking at it is awesome this game looks yes it's almost like it to me uh like you mentioned clickers like to me it reminded me of almost like kingdom come deliverance to with last of us i could see it yeah it's it's got that pure medieval style in a beautiful world really good combat but there's some stealth aspects to it where he's having to crawl around and not get, you know, discovered and that you're fighting monsters and like these kind of zombie looking things, but also other people. And so it's kind of a weird mix, but it's, it's in that world. It's in that setting. And I mean, I, yeah, I think this one looks
Starting point is 00:29:09 really, really good. I am not surprised that it's in the top 10 for sure. No, not at all. I mean, I remember when they dropped the trailer for this and the internet exploded. They were so, like, hype for it and they thought it was so cool. And now seeing that they actually have a publisher who is Behavior Interactive, I'm hopeful we'll see this game very soon as behavior is behind Dead by Daylight, one of the biggest
Starting point is 00:29:31 horror games ever. Yeah, release date is TBA, TBA, so TBA to be announced. We don't have a year yet. But yeah, this game looks incredible, man. I don't really know what more we can say about it other than watch the trailer. You'll get the vibe.
Starting point is 00:29:47 You'll see how dark and violent it is. The fact that it's multiplayer, the fact that it's multiplayer gets me really excited. I love that. Early access in 2027, full release in 2038. No, I'm just kidding. Don't make me wait so long before release, Ryan. Ryan, selfishly, I'm going to let you talk about this next one because I want number two all to myself.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Oh, that's fair. All right. Yeah. What's number three? Okay, so number three, have you ever, have you guys ever wanted to do? like have a wife in a video game have ever wanted to like kind of game we talk just be like evil what kind of game or good or bad you got the wrong wish list what wish list well i thought we felt with those kind of games out hold this out yeah yeah yeah 18 plus only for
Starting point is 00:30:37 the for the seamless no this one uh we're going to go with the one the only fable uh yeah so one that uh ace you have not played fable right not played the favorite franchise so this will be my first one um it is it is something that i really genuinely like from a gamer to another gamer if you have not played fable keep an eye on this whenever it releases you can go play the old ones if you want if you want to check it out you want to try it i if this is anything even close to true to form for what the old fables were it's going to be a really, really, really good game. There's a reason it's number three on the total wishlisted games.
Starting point is 00:31:24 It's got a mass amount of gameplay, a mass amount of exploration where you can see what happens. They're not being shy with showing you what this game's going to be on any of the kind of sites or services that you can look at. But yeah, Fable is number three. it has got a massive amount of wish lists, and rightfully so, I think. It's going to be a really good one. Whenever it eventually comes out one day in 20 billion years. Coming out February 23rd of 2027. Yeah, that's confirmed.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Yeah, that's confirmed. Oh, yeah. There's been a lot of games confirmed. I'm not going to believe. It's like, this is like Silk Song. It's, it'll happen when it happens. Would they delay Fable again? Because they went, they were radio.
Starting point is 00:32:11 They went radio silence. Don't believe anything Ryan says. It's their fable. It's not getting delayed again. And Fable. is going to be freaking awesome. The more we see, the more we see, the better this game looks in my opinion, dude. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Yeah. Other than that, the character's ugly like this. You know, Ryan, you're a paid streamer. Why should I believe anything you say about Fable? Don't listen to me. Don't listen to me. Yeah. We don't know anything about video games at all.
Starting point is 00:32:37 No. All right. All right. Yeah, I mean, people are not knowing anything about a video game. Oh, dude. Yeah. I don't care. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:32:44 I don't care. I don't care. So bad. I have said many times that the second that this game gets a release date, it will be at the top, the top of my hype mirror. I don't care what other games. It's so cool. It's so cool.
Starting point is 00:32:59 This is a game called Light No Fire. This is from Hello Games, the makers of, of, um, uh-oh. No, man, Sky. There you got, I had like the smallest brain fart there because I was just like, oh, that was good. No, that was good. That was reasonable. I know. So, guys, I watch this trailer again.
Starting point is 00:33:18 Now, we've only gotten one trailer. And don't ask me how one trailer has gotten me so excited. But if you watch this trailer, you'll know why, too. That trailer had gameplay at least. All of it was gameplay. Unlike, you know, GTA6 that we haven't seen Diddley Squad for us. I know, I got a choice. Two months before.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Because we've seen gameplay. We've seen gameplay. We've seen gameplay. Did you know trailer two is all gameplay? No, it's not. It's cinematic. Oh, that's in game stuff. It's just camera angles and stuff, people.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Oh, my gosh. All right. Light, no fire is the game that I am most excited about in existence right now. We do not have a release date. Hello Games came out and they teased this. I think at the end of 2024. If I remember right, it was like the game awards, 2024, maybe 2023. It's been a while now.
Starting point is 00:34:10 But they showed off the game that they're making. this is a entire you are on earth it is a scale like no other they have said and i believe them at this point since it's you know since what we have seen in no man sky uh and basically it is an open world where you can do just about anything you want to do on this absolutely gigantic planet they are thinking that people will create like cities and civilizations and things like that um you get to fly dragons you get to fly like giant hummingbirds. You can traverse the world in a multitude of different ways.
Starting point is 00:34:47 There's underwater stuff. They show like basically take the absolute best survival crafting game you can imagine, which I'm a huge fan of that genre, and then take no man sky and put it on that scale. And then they came out and said that they are making it as much of an RPG as they can. And that is what light no fire is. and that is why we are so excited for this game. This game is going to break Steam.
Starting point is 00:35:17 It is going to sell gangbusters because we just got the one point out release of Powell World. One of the most anticipated like survival crafting style games in a long time, honestly. And it did pretty big numbers on Steam on both its early access and its final release. If this just drops out of like full release day one, it's going to crash the website. I promise you. It's so good looking and it's so perfect. If it's exactly what he's promising, which is Sean Murray. Sean Murray is very smart now.
Starting point is 00:35:49 He knows not to overpromise and under deliver. That's why. That's what gets me excited, dude, is like the fact that they have been working on No Man's Sky for however, I mean, it seems like an eternity now. It's still working on it. And that they just keep making that game better and better. And then they basically came out and said, look, everything that we learned. In No Man Sky, we are taking that and we are making light no fire with. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Oh, baby. That's what. As someone, as someone who had No Man Sky on day one, I waited outside of Best Buy, I picked it up. I sold it within the first week because I'm like, this is garbage. And then I went and re-bought it due to a bet from a good old legendary Jake. And when, you know, I'm still working on getting to the center of the gas. galaxy, but it's been a while. Um, but it, it is a completely different game. It is amazing. The effort and the time they put, put into what they've created. It's, it's totally different
Starting point is 00:36:53 from launch day. So having experienced day one and day whatever, you know, seeing what they're able to do and how to, they're able to fix it, that gives me so much hope for light, no fire. I am I am beyond excited to have a world where it's it's supposed to be the size of Earth. Like they said, hey, this is an Earth-sized planet. It's procedurally generated. Like you guys are going to experience a literal world. Like, it's going to be a lot. I love it.
Starting point is 00:37:28 I cannot wait, Josh. I am as excited as you. I am a survival crafter just like you are. um dude soon enough we're gonna get it we're gonna get it i'm so excited we're just gonna become the light no fire podcast but i hate every time we talk about it because then i'm like
Starting point is 00:37:44 well when are we gonna get it you know it gets sad because you start thinking about how long it's gonna be yeah every time it's like oh man what's crazy too and i get it i get it if i were them i would do the exact same thing especially after what happened with no man sky but to and a's found the date that they so this this trailer if you go to steam and you watch like this is
Starting point is 00:38:04 this is the same trailer. It released December 7th of 2023. So I'm pretty sure that was the Game Awards. That was the Game Awards. It's been almost three full years, and we have not heard a single word. Nothing. They have not come out and said a thing,
Starting point is 00:38:20 dude, not a developer blog, not a post, not a nada, nothing. They dropped this trailer on the world, and then they disappeared, and they went, we're not talking about it. We're not giving you anything.
Starting point is 00:38:34 See you when we see eyes. Then they kept updating no man's guy. Josh has been this excited for three years. Yeah. It has not gone down any. For good reason, dude. For good reason. So there you go. Number two on the most wishlisted games. If you don't know what light, no fire is, this is the reason we're doing this episode, people. Go wishlisted so you know and you can be excited with us. Well, if that's number two, Josh, surely number one is like the best game of all time, right? I'll be honest. Here's the thing with number one. And I'm I'm going to let you reveal what number one is, Ace, but I'm going to, I'm going to say this. Valve does not make bad games. No, they do not. And that's where I was going with this. And that's why.
Starting point is 00:39:12 So what is number one? They have it. Number one is one of the only games that Valve is currently working on, actively developing it. Some people are playing it right now. That's a game called Deadlock. That is Valve's Boba Hero Shooter. I've seen early access footage of this game. I see streamers actually actively stream this game.
Starting point is 00:39:31 It looks like it's a pretty dang good time. if you know what you're doing. I don't know anything about Mova, so I'd probably be lost. But as a guy who loves hero shooters, I don't know, it looks really good. And Valve doesn't miss.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Valve does not miss. Ryan's shaking his head. Valve doesn't normally miss. I pulled up my playtime because I got into the deadlock beta and if you get in, you can invite a friend. That's the only way that you can get into the beta
Starting point is 00:39:56 at this point is somebody has to get accepted and then they can shoot out friend invites. We played this. I was very excited. to hop into this beta because this is Valve's hero shooter. And we all know how much we love hero shooters around here. And I was like, oh my goodness, a Valve hero shooter might be the greatest thing I've ever heard of. We played it.
Starting point is 00:40:16 What's your playtime, Ryan? 104 minutes. 104 minutes. Okay, so yours is measured in minutes. Mine is at least hours. I'm 3.2 hours. Okay. You played a little bit.
Starting point is 00:40:27 I will say this. I don't like Mobus. I don't like mobas. I've tried. I've tried Dota 2. I've tried League of Legends. I don't like mobas. I love hero shooters.
Starting point is 00:40:41 And at the time, Deadlock felt more like a moba than a hero shooter to me. And I was not a fan. Now, I will say this too. My last playtime for Deadlock was June 30th of 2024. So it's been two, four years since I've even booted this game up at this point.
Starting point is 00:40:58 It probably has changed a lot. in the last two years. I need to hop back in there because what I want is I wanted to feel more like a hero shooter and less like a MoBA. And if they can do that, I'm in. I just worry that that's not the case. But it is, it is polished. It is well done.
Starting point is 00:41:19 The characters are aggressive. I love the characters. The characters are unique and great with really neat synergies. I mean, what are you guys talking about? Hold on. What do you mean to give you unique? characters and the world. It's all the same as anything else. It looks just like rivals. Deadlocks characters. No, it looks just like rivals. It looks just
Starting point is 00:41:38 like, uh, Overwatch. You don't remember this game as much as you think you do. No, I remember this game. This game has a little sleep demon. I remember that it was, it was so obnoxiously lame. That's, that's, it was, it was, it was so lame. Oh, I disagree. It was so lame. The only reason that I would label this lame at all is for the Mova aspect. When you talk about the characters and the shooting and the, like the, the actual like game play. I don't think so. It was the only fun part was playing with you and Paul.
Starting point is 00:42:09 I would play a hundred other games before I played this game with you guys. Yeah. I mean, listen, this is my problem. I don't like mobas and this is a moba but in a first person shooter. Like it, and that's the thing I have a hard time with is I don't want to do the stupid little grunts down the lanes. Yeah, we got to go down a certain way.
Starting point is 00:42:28 Like give me, give me the PVP portion. I don't like the grunts. I don't like the hole you have to try to capture and destroy the enemy crystal. I don't like the economy part of the game where you have to buy these skills that I don't know what I'm doing and stuff like that. And I get that ultimately...
Starting point is 00:42:43 If you could find a character you liked, though, that would probably be enough. I did find a character I liked. Yeah, I could find multiple characters. That's what I'm saying. Like, the hero shooter part of Deadlock, I think is fantastic. I'm just not a fan of mobas.
Starting point is 00:42:55 And it leans into the moba side of things very strongly. I've never played much moba. outside of Overwatch Stadium. That's as much of mobas I play. Movers are dumb. This game is dumb. It's stupid. Well, it is the most wishlisted game in the world right now.
Starting point is 00:43:10 It is the most wish list of game on Steam. But, you know. And Steam has said because it's probably. It is valves. Yeah. So they said that it's over five and a half million wish lists. Okay. Five and a half million wish lists, guys.
Starting point is 00:43:24 So there you go. There's an indicator. I'll just keep watching stream. At least over a million. And we have Deadlock at number one. with over five and a half million. So that gives you an idea of how the big of these games are.
Starting point is 00:43:37 I'm going to have to try Deadlock again. I want to see what's happened in two years. I'm very curious. Maybe we should all jump into Deadlock, huh? Yeah, I could probably shoot you. I'll jump in for you guys to see how much it sucks again. Absolutely. I'm curious.
Starting point is 00:43:51 Absolutely. Yeah, we'll stream in. You can be a bottom 500. And then everyone can see like, oh yeah, this game is stupid. Like this game is so stupid, which I've never said ever about a Valve game ever. I'm the biggest valve fanboy ever and
Starting point is 00:44:04 like, yeah, this game's... Apparently you're not. Yeah, you're like Deadlock, Ryan. No, I'm real. Yeah. I keep it real. Yeah, so, uh, no release date for Deadlock. It is, it has been in closed beta for at least an active development. Like, yeah, they add new stuff to it like every week. Yeah, we'll see. We'll see when they decide. There's over 50,000 people playing right now.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Yeah. What? Okay, guys, I'm going to take Light No Fire off the list because I feel like that that's at least a nice answer. What is the game on the top 10 wish list that you're most excited for? Fable. Ill. Ooh, I'll is a good one, too. I'll is really good, man. Fable for me. Fable looks so good. Fable looks so good. And it's like that big, big, big time game.
Starting point is 00:44:45 That's like a generational game. But, uh, yeah, equally so, like, um, ill looks like it'll be a pretty sweet, like, scary, spooky game. Yeah, I just love a good single player horror game, man. Just like, for me, that's the top ones. Ill, blight survival, Fable and Light and Fire
Starting point is 00:45:04 are my top four hands down. What about Arc 2, Josh? What's that? What about Arc 2? The game that'll never happen? That one? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:15 Also, what is Dragon's Dog but too Darker isn't doing on this list, man? I feel like we should, what is number 11? All right, listen,
Starting point is 00:45:22 before we close out this episode, you're disqualified Dragon's Dogmat. I guarantee number 11 should be replaced. seen Dragon's Dogma. The fact is Dragon's Dogma is in the middle 11, the Steam frame? No, number 11 is Resident
Starting point is 00:45:36 Evil Veronica. Yeah, I'm with that. That's at least a game I can get that's better than Dragon's Dogma too, for sure. Yeah, and then Unrecorded and Blood of Dawn Walker and then Phantom Blade Zero. So, yeah, all of those. Any one of them.
Starting point is 00:45:50 Any one of them over Dragon's Dogma's DLC. Yeah, I don't know. All right, well, listen, you were all caught up now, people.
