Hello fellow gamers and welcome to the Video Gamers Podcast. On this week's indie episode we're discussing quite possibly the best indie souls-like in
existence Lies of P and discussing the announcement of its first DLC ever.
We'll be laughing over the horrible and gruesome deaths we've seen in headliners talk the exceptional looking Tito and marvel
over the art style of a midnight walk. But before we get into all that, some introductions are in
order. I am your host Josh and joining me, he's currently trying to sneak past a giant oak tree
and being told, no, it's Ryan.
That tree was actually pretty sweet.
I definitely went past him or back up to him
and had him kick me away just a few times.
And he kept throwing me up higher and higher in the air
and I was floating back.
It was a, it was a good time, good demo.
Yeah, we'll be talking about the Tito demo
and you make sure you pay attention to that. Cause there's, uh,
there's something special coming there and joining us.
He's the indie master extraordinaire,
the guy who just went back and played lies of P for eight hours.
So he'd be ready to talk about the DLC announcement today.
It's a, hey, listen, man, I'm not a puppet. I'm a real boy. So I have to get that experience. Oh man. Hey dude,
lies of P I said it in the intro, quite possibly the best
indie souls like game in existence. And we got the
announcement of the DLC for it.
So we'll get to that in just a second.
First of all, welcome in everybody.
Thank you for joining us.
It is awesome to have you here.
We love doing these indie episodes.
We've actually gotten some traction on these already, dude.
Like there's indie devs that have been reaching out to us
on social media and they're like, dude, thank you guys
for like dedicating this episode to it.
It's so hard to get exposure as an indie dev.
It's hard to kind of get people to notice your games
and things like that.
And our stance has always been,
we absolutely love indie developers.
We love the passion that they have.
We love the fact that they're so involved
in the gaming community.
They often solicit feedback and say,
hey, how can we make this game better?
And so this is really just one of the ways
that we like to say thank you for that passion to indie devs
and hopefully put some awesome looking indie games
on people's radars as well.
And we've got a few today, boys.
Oh boy.
Yes, we do.
Let's,
let's just start off with lies of P. Uh,
because it's great already, man.
Give it to me.
Now, ace, you played lies of P before I ever even got a chance to dive into it.
I remember we have, we covered it many,
many times on this podcast leading up to its release.
We kind of had this up and down bit of a roller coaster with it, where we kind of
went, this looks like it could be like the best game ever.
And then we kind of went, eh, not real sure.
Um, and then the game came out, you played it first.
You loved it.
Uh, I played it after that.
I loved it.
Ryan still put off by the whole souls like thing, not to call you out, but.
No, no, I love souls games.
You sure you want to make that thing any bigger?
That's what I was gonna say.
I don't have to be Pinocchio for my nose to get big.
It's there, man.
So yeah, Liza P, we got the announcement for the DLC Overture.
Um, what do you, what do you guys think about this, man?
Oh dude, Overture looks incredible.
It's, uh, for one thing, it's a DLC that takes place before the whole puppet frenzy
thing where all the bad stuff's happening and all the puppets have turned evil and stuff.
And it seems like it's a good bit, uh, back in the past since like the cat that
you usually pets a kitten and then they showed off some incredible new weapons
too. There's like Wolverine claws.
And there was a sword that was also a gun like come on
That's gotta get you a little bit Ryan like come on
Absolutely, I tell you one thing if there's something I like in my swords
I like them to also be guns, you know, that's what more what more can you ask for?
That's for sure. What what is crazy to me is from someone who hasn't played it and
I've I've dabbled in the Indies a little bit, not nearly as much as you too.
But, um, this does not look like an indie game to me.
This, I mean, this looks like a full fledged triple a graphically beautiful,
uh, uh, just amazing game that, that, um, is just beautiful and crisp and, and it
has all the attributes of the top tier development.
But it's considered an indie, I guess, like it's wild to me.
And it plays so smooth, man. You would think from soft made this game with how smooth the gameplay is,
how responsive and if they had made it. Be a top 10 game for everyone.
Yeah, yeah, it is funny how, because it's not from soft that
it kind of has sat in that kind of indie obscurity.
Now we say obscurity lies of P I feel like has
done pretty darn well for itself.
It has done incredible.
That is a testament to how good this game is.
If you have not played lies of P it is one of the
premier top notch souls like games. You are really missing out
if you are a fan of that genre and you have not played it. I was kind of resistant to
play it at first because I was kind of like, I was fresh off of Elden Ring and I was like,
man, I'm kind of wanting something more. And I was like, let me try this out. I was enthralled.
I beat the entire game. So that's saying something coming from me.
The combat is a very, very nice blend of being approachable for the most part. And then also having those epic boss fights where you are going to die several times. But the game never felt
unfair to me. The level design was top notch. The progression systems I thought were awesome. You
can kind of build out these builds like you want. There's really nothing to not like about lies of P. And
then we get this this just kind of trailer and it expands like everything
man like you said we get new weapons we get new boss fights it looks like we get
some new mechanics they showed some like really cool like boss moves and things
like that like you mentioned there's some range combat because he's got a bow.
Oh, sword gun again.
Like, come on.
Yeah.
I mean, the biggest thing is lies.
A P is a soul's like with a story that you can follow.
It is not hidden behind everything.
You can follow the story and it's really interesting.
That that's what's cool to me is that I'm, I am very, uh, I'm very story
driven in, in games and I want to feel like I'm in that world.
I want to be engaged.
And maybe that's something that would draw me in a little bit more into a
souls game instead of just kind of rolling around and killing stuff, you
know, which is also super fun and awesome.
I'm sure it's great.
Just not for me, but maybe this is one that with this little kind of new spice
to it, I'll get sucked in and want to want to check it out, but I real quick
Google search as of March of last year, 2024, they had over 7 million
copies sold, I believe.
That's a very successful.
Yeah.
So I'm looking, I don't know what the exact numbers are going to be, but, um, man, that's,
that's pretty dang good for an indie game. Yeah. Yeah. Lies of P
just really, really solid all around. I mean,
I can't recommend that game enough to people that haven't played it. Um, you know,
again, the story is really good. It's just neat, man.
They really kind of draw you into that world. This,
I don't know, what is it like French Renaissance type thing? I mean, it very much reminded me of
Steel Rising as far as that goes. Like it's almost the same setting there, but Lies of P is just so
far beyond like what Steel Rising was. And I actually oddly really enjoyed Steel Rising myself.
So, so yeah, I will absolutely be playing that.
I don't know if I'm going to do like you did Ace and just replay all of lies of P
just to be ready for it, but I will absolutely be picking up this DLC on this one.
No, it was well spent.
Look at you. You got, you're all primed up and ready.
But speaking of of playing games, I think we all got in on a, on a little demo,
uh, recently. Oh yeah, we did. You guys hop into one. I think it was,
uh, by the name of Tito. Oh Tito.
I thought this was, um, you guys sent this over to me in the beginning.
I hopped in, but you know,
it took me a minute to get kind of sucked into this demo,
but it was actually quite a bit of fun. I don't know. What,
what did you guys think?
I thought it was fantastic. And, uh, Josh, you and I played this demo before,
once, once before, and, uh, this new version came out and it's so
incredible.
The difference is night and day from what we played. Like if you told me,
this was the same game, wouldn't believe it.
It's so polished. Okay. So I didn't, I never played the original like demo that you guys must have played then. So, so to me it felt, it felt awesome. It felt like a really true crisp platformer that,
that I genuinely enjoyed that demo interaction that I had, but, but it's, it's night and day from,
from the original one.
Oh, a hundred percent.
What's funny is I think it was Jigglepuff. Maybe, I can't remember who mentioned this in our community, but somebody put
Tito on our radar and said, this game looks really cool.
It's definitely got influences from Banjo Kazooie and Crash Bandicoot and some of
these just really awesome older genres that we all used to just love and adore.
And so instantly it was kind of like, well, this has my attention.
And then we did play the demo and the demo was good.
It was already good. It kind of showed off, hey, you know, my, my only complaint with the demo is that for whatever reason,
wireless controller functionality just doesn't work. Yeah.
So I had to play with mouse and keyboard, which is not the best for a platformer.
I was kind of hopeful that in this demo that they had fixed that, but they hadn't.
But I will say this, the controls in this second demo felt really good.
And I have never played a platformer with mouse and keyboard that felt as
good as Tito did, but dude.
Oh my goodness, man.
Like I feel like I'm playing banjo Kazooie again.
The jumps in the way you can kind of use the different abilities throughout the
world.
Um, I love it for people who haven't played it, you get to hop in and you can
absorb these, uh, uh, things around you.
And then you get certain abilities or traits based on those fire, water,
trash bag makes you bouncy.
And then like cardboard or like a bush, you can start sneaking around
because of the grass.
Like there's there's a lot of cool things to it.
I loved personally just my Tito because I could use the avatar
with the Jordan Bulls Jersey. That's the one I used. I don't know what you could use the avatar with the Jordan Bowles jersey.
That's the one I used. I don't know what you guys use. I felt pretty cool with that one.
That's so funny. I went base Tito. I thought he was cute just the way he was. Gotta get
a little flair to him, man.
I listen, we cannot stress enough. We see a lot of indie games.
Legitimately, we see a lot of indie games.
You know, we we have people reach out to us on stuff.
Tito is going to be something special.
I don't say this lightly, like I, you know, I feel like I've played. If you've played, you know, five different 3D platformers,
you've played them all kind of thing.
But I don't know that I have felt this kind of like childlike excitement for
a 3D platformer in a while. Um,
it is night and day from the first demo.
I love the advancements that they made with this. The,
the movement feels good. The stage design is really good.
One of my favorite things is in game variety. And Ace, you and
I were talking about this before we started recording, but like there's one point in this
forest level that you're on where if you kind of explore, you get rewarded for it. You find
this little corner of the map and then all of a sudden it goes, dodge the egg corns and
survive. Oh, dude, that was so crazy. You guys all found it. And all of a sudden I'm running for my life.
There are just, you know, dozens of egg corns falling from the sky.
You're running around like a madman, trying not to get squashed.
I got hit by one and it kind of stunned me for a second.
And I started panicking and I was like, no, no.
And I'm running all over the place at the end of the demo.
It's very much a Crash Bandicoot
scene where you are running into the direction of your screen.
It's super fast paced.
There was chaos everywhere.
The devs for this game are awesome.
It is a small family from New Zealand.
And it is literally their family project.
That's it.
You can tell by the voiceover in the game that it's literally their family project. Like that's it. You can tell by the voiceover in the game
that it's like just their family.
But also how awesome is that New Zealand accent?
Oh dude, it's so good.
It's so good.
You could tell there's so much passion behind this game
because comparing it to the first demo we saw,
it was still great in the first demo.
And now you get this in like,
I feel like I'm playing a whole new polished game just
for me made with love. Family love. It was almost the acorns falling was almost reminiscent of like
Mario Party. That's what I was thinking. Kind of party games for sure. You can see the shadow
getting bigger and you're like, Oh no, and you got to jump around that last level. Obviously,
like, Oh no, and you got to jump around that last level, obviously, one, one hundredth of, of, uh, the amazingness of that level, but it almost was like that
halo three kind of war hog level.
Like I was just running.
I'm like, Oh, okay.
I really like, you know, I, I like the demo now.
I love this demo and I was feeling good.
And I'm like, I'm going to jump here, double jump back, get over this. And I died. I'm not going to, you know, I
died intentionally a couple of times just so I could keep doing that area. You know,
it was, it was just, um, I think it was very well done. I think they did a very good job
on what they've created and it sounds like they they've made the improvements that needed
to happen, you know,
from what you guys have said as well.
I love that we got a glimpse of the variety of gameplay that we're going to get.
Yeah.
Honestly, between the level designs, the different kind of mechanics in the game that they showcase,
the different levels, like I said, we talked about the crash bandicoot ending for the demo.
That was very adrenaline pumping.
You know, like you said, over the top, I mean, my hands were getting sweaty.
And I was like, this is great, man.
I freaking love this.
So do not sleep on Tito.
There is a free demo.
It is their brand new demo.
We've actually been talking to these devs.
They are awesome people.
And so we always say, hey, support good indie developers.
Go try this demo out.
I, you know, see for yourselves.
It's, it's fun.
It takes about maybe 30 minutes to get through the whole demo.
It's tight.
It's polished.
And I had a blast.
I literally yelled to my wife in the other room and I said, I feel like
I'm playing banjo because do we have any, you know, I mean, that's what it felt
like, so there's they've captured some kind of magic on this and we want, we really want to see them succeed,
but also this is just a darn fun game.
Heck yeah.
At the same time.
So no release date known yet on that,
but there might be whispers that they might be willing
to join us on the podcast and chat the development of Tito.
So we'll, we'll, we'll see how that goes.
Maybe we can get some more insight into this awesome game.
So awesome.
Let's take a quick break
and then we'll come back with some headliners.

All right, we're back.
Guys, all of us simply-
Josh, he's coming for me!
Ah!
Watch out, watch out!
Ah!
I'm gonna jump over the roof and get to you guys,
don't worry.
Oh, there goes Ace.
Splat.
Don't try the roof jump, man.
Splat.
Don't do it. Hey, I'm one for one. I'm batting the thousand on the roof jump, man.
I am one for one.
I not me.
I think I whiffed one and I think I'm 500 on my roof jumps.
But so if you have not heard of headliners, you are missing out.
This is the next just dumb fun game that has come out.
We need a genre for these games. Yeah, exactly. It's like they're next just dumb fun game that has come out. We need a genre for these games.
Dude, yeah, exactly. It's like they're all just dumb fun games. I know before we started recording
in the discord, I was just chatting with people and somebody asked about headliners and I threw
up the clip and then somebody else was like, what is this craziness? And I'm like, dude,
get in this game. This is a fun, It's like seven or eight bucks. Uh,
just, just one session alone is worth the price of admission. Absolutely.
It is, it is so much fun. This game is a blast.
Oh, especially with our community.
Yeah. Oh yeah. There's always somebody down to play.
There's always someone down to play, man.
Like we're all incredibly stupid.
So come on down and just have a blast with us because you will die and then it'll be it'll make for good banter.
And then you'll hear what is the premise? What is the premise of Headliners? Like so for people that aren't familiar, can you explain just kind of the general top down view of what this game is?
So in Headliners, you play as reporters who are going into a quarantine city that's been basically taken over by aliens.
There's an alien invasion going on and you need to get the news out to the
public ASAP. So you're going to go in with your friends with cameras and
flashlights for the start. At least you will lose the flashlights. I'm sorry,
but you're going to go with your friends and you're going to try to get pictures
of these aliens without getting horribly dismembered or killed.
And if you're like Ryan, you're gonna get kicked in the face with a car by a giant alien. Yeah, no, absolutely. The video I posted was a streetlight flying right next to me.
Then I was like, oh no, Josh, which way do we go?
And we didn't know which way to go. And we're jumping over cars.
And there's just giant monsters, you know, when you're trying to return to
extraction and it's just one of those games that, um, lens, uh, it's very
streaming friendly.
It's very, uh, clip friendly.
It just, it's nothing but fun.
And it's just going to be goofy craziness, a la lethal company, a la,
you know, um, what was the other one that, uh, content, content, you know, a lot of those types, you know, Lend to this
kind of gameplay and it's, it's just fun, man.
It's there's, you know, all the different attacks you can get.
There's certain animals that'll, that'll grab you and flop you around.
And then I'm taking a selfie.
Well, Josh is getting dismembered in the air, you know, and it's worth bonus
extra points and it there's, um, there's a lot there and it's, it's definitely one to check out.
And you can knock your friends down with their own arms.
Yeah.
Hey buddy, you need a hand?
Oh man.
I can't tell you how many times I got knocked out like five times in a row by you guys just
throwing limbs at me, man.
Well, we were all missing arms. We just kept throwing them at you.
And that's kind of the dumb fun of this is like your guy can take some damage. You'll
lose an arm, you'll lose a leg, you'll lose both, but you're still alive. But now you're
limping around everywhere and stuff like that. It is just hilarity. Like if you just want
a game to play with friends and crack up about headliners is absolutely that.
It doesn't have long lasting potential.
No, it's $7.99 on Steam.
This is a game that you buy you and a couple buddies.
You buy, you play it for a weekend or a week or whatever.
And then, yes, you've kind of experienced the content.
But if you ever just want to crack up and be silly
and laugh at your friends dying horribly,
that's what this game is. It's just so much fun, man. It's also kind of taken the world by storm.
I think the last I saw, they said they sold like a quarter of a million copies on this.
Wow. Geez. That makes me so happy to hear because-
It just goes to show you people just want to have a good time.
Yeah, man.
Not every game needs to be a 30 hour game.
Like I'll play this one or two more times.
Like, like honestly, like, you know, you guys will say,
Hey, who wants to hop in somebody on our discord server
will say anybody playing headliners.
And I'll be like, I'm down.
This is not a long-term game,
at least not for somebody like me,
but I have easily gotten my $8 out of this game already.
Yeah. That's what I was saying. Like, like one, almost one session is more than enough
value for, you know, eight bucks. Like that's, that's no problem at all. And, and to be honest,
for you, no games, a long-term game for you. So I have a feeling like ace and I were still,
I know ace and I, if we talked about it, we'd be like, let's go hop in and leave the company. Let's go run, do some runs. You know, we would hop back in.
But this is one too, that you can, it's not a lot of space. You can just leave it on your computer
or, you know, whatever. And then you can just, if somebody hops in, you can go play with them.
It's a super cool game, but definitely check it out. Absolutely. I mean, these are basically
the new party game to me. Like you just boot this up. It's like, hey, everyone want to play?
Ace, you shared a link with us for a game called a Midnight Walk.
This game is so trippy.
I want you to kind of lead into this one because I had seen this video before somewhere.
I don't know if we covered it on, maybe just like, you know, the main shows
twig or something like that, or maybe it was an announcement video. I just know I've seen this art
style, but now we've got a little bit more of a look in man. This game has me very interested,
but why don't you tell us about a midnight walk and what it is. So a midnight walk is a survival
horror game done with claymation in real life.
Like IRL claymation done by the developers, by these artists.
And you get to walk through and experience that.
Oh, did I mention it's VR?
It's PSVR.
Oh, no.
And I do not know the story.
I imagine they're keeping the story a secret for a good reason.
But it's this incredible little game where you're walking around
this horrifying world made of clay all by yourself.
And I don't really know what it's going to be, but
it looks incredible.
I mean, Ryan, you like survival horror games, right?
I do as much as they scare me and the crazy
jump scares and whatever else happens, you know,
in those worlds.
Um, I definitely do like it.
I don't know. Did you guys get that, um, kind of
nightmare before Christmas vibe? Oh, I was going to say if one of you didn't
bring it up, I was like, I'm gonna, I'm glad they stood to me there. Cause I
was, I got to jump in and say this first cause somebody's going to say it. And I
want to, you know, I want it to be me. So I sound smart, but, uh, it, it
definitely, it, that atmosphere and the look like
man the thought of that in VR is
Something is just something different and and I know we always talk about the progression of gaming. Where is gaming gonna go?
What's gonna be the next leap? You know
not to say that this is that but
Man, I definitely want to try it out and see what what this type of gaming
is.
You know, this what something I've never experienced in the I've done VR, obviously, but but something
like this, it just seems so different to me.
And it's something I definitely want to try out.
Oh, this is one of those games they're going to consider art later down the line.
They're gonna be like, yeah, made this.
And it's pure art, even if the gameplay isn't like amazing,
just the visuals and hopefully the story
will just carry it forward.
But like these claymation, I'm always impressed by that.
So I'm already down, I'm already in.
It's like developing a video game's not hard enough
as it is to where they go, let's make it out of clay.
Right?
You know what I mean? And then it's like, wait, what? We're gonna do the it out of clay. Right. Right. You know what I mean?
And then it's like, wait, what?
We're going to do the whole thing in clay, guys.
That's like, are you crazy?
We have to make an entire video game out of clay then.
And they go, yeah, let's do it.
Let's do it.
Yeah, I will say I love the fact that this
is going to be available in VR.
Now, from my understanding, I think the game itself
will be available as a standalone game, but it has the available in VR. Now, from my understanding, I think the game itself will be available as a standalone game,
but it has the option for VR.
And that does include PC.
So you could play it in Steam through your Quest 2
connection with Steam, which I absolutely love,
because I don't own a PlayStation VR.
And so it's one of those things where
it's like, to be able to experience this art style and this creepiness at the same time in VR, like to scale.
Like, I mean, what an experience that would be. I'd love I love these games that we're getting where the art style is just absolutely carrying these games.
South of Midnight is another game coming up soon
where it's just, that has my attention.
I'm very excited for that one too.
Yeah, A Midnight Walk is right up there for me, honestly.
And I will absolutely play this in VR too,
because it just, I think that's how they kind of intended
this game to be played as well.
All right, Josh, VR party at my house, buddy.
I'll do it.
I'll do it.
We'll be banging into each other, man.
Like, ah!
But yeah, so I absolutely, this trailer alone blew me away.
So if nothing else, again, go watch the trailer for that.
It's called A Midnight Walk.
I like how they're doing stuff with fire.
There's these really fantastic visuals
and characters and stuff.
I am such a sucker for that like dark fantasy aspect, man.
It just does something for my brain and I love it.
Like I, it's like, I just want to go sit in that world as creepy as it is. Like there's just a
part of me that's like, I want to be there, man. Yeah, absolutely. It's interesting and intriguing
and it pulls you in. So it's doing its job. Yeah. Yeah. I, man, I don't, I, like I said,
I'm very excited for that one. That one is slated to come out in may as well. So. I, man, I don't, I, I, like I said, I'm very excited for that one.
That one is slated to come out in May as well. So not too, too far away either.
And I love, and like I said, if, if you have a quest to,
which I think is the majority of people,
you will be able to play this in VR because again,
the game is available through steam and it's super easy to link your quest up
with steam at that point too.
So I love the fact that they're putting that out there,
not just as a PSVR2 exclusive.
And then we've got one more, boys.
Oh, buddy.
You know, I love sushi.
I know Ace loves sushi.
Ryan, I know you love sushi.
I love it.
Who's the best sushi chef in the world?
That ain't Dave.
His name's Dave.
What? world. That ain't Dave's name is Dave.
What bro, what are you talking about man?
I guess he's not, okay. He may not be the chef. That's right. Okay. It's, uh, it's what's the guy's name? Uh, it's, it's, it's Yvonne. Yeah.
I think it's Yvonne. Okay.
It's Yvonne's the best sushi chef in the world provides the freshest
sushi is a boy named Dave.
Our boy.
And Dave, Dave is back.
Woo.
He is, he is.
You know what Dave's been doing?
He ain't been just eating sushi.
He's been eating deep fried sushi because that boy has not lost a pound.
He's looking plump as ever.
I wanted to, I'm just going to say I'm very active person. I like to go out.
I was think with all that swimming and all that work he's doing, he's, you
know, might've lost a little pounds, but man, Dave is just, uh, he's just the same
as ever.
You need that extra insulation.
I guess those, those low, uh, those low temps, once he gets down, you know,
a hundred meters or whatever it is, like that's, that's some chilly water down
there where he's getting the prime, you know, a hundred meters or whatever it is, like cold, that's, that's
some chilly water down there.
We was getting the prime, you know, the prime fish for the
good, good roles.
So we got an announcement that there is going to be a Dave, the
diver crossover with the Yakuza series.
Oh my God.
A crossover.
I love it.
I love it.
Okay. Have any of you played the Yakuza games at all?
I feel like none of us have.
No, but I think I have an understanding of what they are.
They're basically adult versions of the persona games, whereas instead of playing as teenagers,
you play as middle-aged adults who worked in the Yakuza.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I, they look incredible.
I know they get a ton of praise from people that have played them.
I just can't get into, I don't know, man, there's something just weird about it.
I've just, my brain's not interested, but again,
I know that this is a very popular series. It's a big deal. So we,
we got this announcement and I think this is tying into the, what is it?
Like a pirate. Yeah, it's gotta be. So yeah, the Yakis are like a pirate.
So I'm thinking, how are they going to tie this into Dave the Diver?
And then they did it!
They're just like, we don't care, we're doing it.
We don't care how we're going to do it.
We're doing it. Dude, this, I was watching and I'm like, oh sweet, Dave's back.
I'm like, all right, what are we going to do, man? I'm ready to go get some fish.
And then it goes, and you see the crossover crossover and it's like an eighties side
scrolling fighting action game at one point. I'm like double dragon. I was like,
yeah, double dragon. Like any of those, I mean, even I love like the Simpsons,
like this side scrolling where you can move kind of up and down for a certain
kind of range, get up, pick up the, there's like a Coke on the floor, Coca
Cola can, you know, for like bonus points or whatever. And like, it just, I instantly was, yep.
I'm in Dave's got a hundred percent.
Yep.
I'm in.
Yeah.
Dave's got hands, dude.
The fact that we got a look at the 2d side scroller was what absolutely sold it
for me.
So streets of rage, double dragon again, you know, this is throwing back to my
childhood, David divers, kind of a throwback to these old school games anyway.
But it's so good for being modern at the same time.
This is why Dave the Diver got such high praise, man.
I mean, it really is an incredible game.
The fact that we got to see the Like a Dragon people walk
into the sushi restaurant, and I'm going,
where are they going to go with this, man?
How are they going to incorporate these two?
They show them walking into sushi restaurant.
You see the main dude.
Forgive me, I don't know the guy's name
because I've never played the games.
But he's swimming underwater with Dave.
And they come across some, obviously,
some mercenary thugs underwater or something.
It's like, you can tell this is going to get down.
Then we got the 2D side scroller fighter game.
They figured it out.
You know? So it's like, OK, I'm in. down. Then we got the 2D side scroller fighter game. Like they figured it out.
You know, so it's like, okay, I'm in. It's a perfect, this is one of those DLCs that will absolutely get me to go back to Dave the diver. Like as goofy as that is, cause my brain doesn't
work that way, but this one, this one got me man. Oh, more Dave is always good. Like this is actually
his third DLC. Uh, his first two were dredge and Godzilla.
Yeah, that's weird.
That's right.
To see, and as much as I love dredge, that was not enough to get me to go back.
But this one seems like they're throwing enough stuff in there.
Dude, well, it's got that variety.
From, uh, yeah.
And from us coming, you know, seeing that side scroll and fighting, like that's,
that just kind of hits a spot with us.
We're like, oh, okay.
Yeah, I'm in. Like that's, that's enough to for sure bring us back in. I know ACE you're
a little younger than us, but, um, as, as painful as that is to say, uh, that one, that
part hit with us probably a little different than it did with you. The nostalgia hit is
real and it's like kudos to you for playing on that because you got me.
Awesome. Well, listen, that does it for this episode.
I mean, go check out the Tito demo.

on what they think about that as well.
