Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the video gamers podcast.
The gaming industry is never dull, and this week there's been some major shifts in the gaming world.
From Phil Spencer leaving Xbox to Sony being, well, just plain stupid.
We've got news, can't miss games and demos, and more on this episode.
But before we get to all that, some introductions are in order.
I am your host Josh and joining me
You can find him looting gear
But only when we're dying and about to bleed out
He's that guy in every squad
But we love him anyway
It's Ryan
I just want to say that
And this is to Dr. Joe Nasty
Do you know what I was looting
I was looting the American
Gold medal for
Ice Hockeyman
baby, yeah!
We are the champions, my friend.
Bum,
bougham, bown.
Suck it, Canada.
I was hoping you to keep going.
Suck it, Canada.
And we'll keep on fighting until the end.
I'm, I, there was nothing better than watching that hockey game at six in the morning.
And, and seeing all those little Canadians cry after the game, we win USA.
baby all day every day. I'm sorry I still love you. Please support us. But let's go hockey.
This is, Ryan is a huge ice hockey fan and actually used to play ice hockey. So this is
absolutely on point for Ryan. This isn't just a fair weather fandom because the USA won that.
Sorry I have to. But also, that might be the greatest start to an episode ever. That sounds pretty
hard to top. Yeah. So what was the bet that, uh, that you, you made? So, uh, Mr. Joe Nasty and me made a bet, uh,
that I had to play Resident Evil one if I lost, if, if, if, if, if USA lost and he had to play
Resident Evil one if, if Canada lost. And well, we know what he's doing right now. He's on a fix,
he did fix camera just cruising around. Credit to him. He did post a screenshot showing that he
was paying out his bet too. And, and I, I will say that I definitely, I, I may or may not have
told you guys that I was already probably going to download it because I didn't think we were going to win.
We shouldn't have won.
We shouldn't have won.
That's so funny.
All right.
And joining us,
he's absolutely amped for Far Cry 7, 8, and 9.
And when he heard there's multiple Assassin's Creed games in the works,
his excitement level was off the charts.
It's ace.
Can you feel my energy?
Is it palpable?
Do you feel the energy of excitement?
No, look, I know.
I know that we have converted you.
I know that we have grown your hatred for Ubisoft
and then we have infected you,
but you can't tell me that there's not still a tiny part of you
that holds out hope that the next eight assassins
games are going to...
I'm excited for Assassin's Creed Hex and that's it.
I don't know anything else I'm excited for him.
Until I sees a trailer for another one and then it's going to be like,
I know I've been hurt before guys, but this one looks really good.
Hurt me again.
Hurt me again.
I'm ready.
He's laughing because he knows it.
It's true.
I think it might be true.
Like I might buy the next fire cry who knows.
Pre-order, say less.
Here's my credit card.
Collectors edition?
What?
Gosh, I hate that word now.
Well, welcome in everybody to the video gamers podcast.
Well, what a start to this episode, man.
Guys, we've got a lot to talk about.
Now, listen, I feel like last week we had some not great news for the gaming industry.
And we too unfortunately have some.
great news again.
But instead of starting with that, let's talk games first and then we'll just save the bad news for
later. How about that? Does that sound like a plan for you guys?
Love it. I think that's a good idea. Yeah. Let's do that.
All right. So, you know, the Steam Next Fest is going on. We are playing the heck out of some demos.
I know Ace, we're going to have a few of those that we're going to cover on the indie episode this
week. But before the Next Fest actually kicked off, there were a couple of demos.
that released to get kind of ahead of the curve there, which we jumped into.
Now, I'll say this, two of these demos we were very, very hyped for.
So the second we found out that we could play them, we jumped in.
The first one I want to talk about is Toxic Commando.
Comes out next month.
I think it's what March 12th, I think is the release date on that one.
12th or 10th.
12th or 13th.
It's one of those two.
This is a game that we've been excited for.
We got to jump into the demo.
I feel like this was a pretty complete demo.
I mean, we were able to play for an hour or two, together, co-op, get a feel for this game.
For people that don't know, how would you describe toxic commando, Ryan?
It is the 12th, by the way.
That is the 12th.
And then, yeah, and then.
So toxic commando is, gosh, it's, it's an 80s action movie, like, but with zombies.
That's toxic commando.
It is the sickest thing that we've played in a long time.
It is so much fun, especially.
I feel like it would be a lot of fun solo,
but if you boot up, you are, honestly, too,
there's like a ridiculous skill tree and abilities
and things that you can do and upgrades.
But you boot in, you're fighting zombies,
and it's a mass chaos,
and you got to get from point A to point B
and do whatever you have to do along the way,
do it with your friends.
Apparently loot.
And loot as you put everyone behind.
Oh, yeah, when your team leaves you in the Jeep and then they drive away and then you decide you're going to get some gear so you can maybe survive.
You know, apparently that's frowned upon in post-apocalyptic worlds.
But this game I'm very excited about.
I know we've been excited about this for a long time, but playing the demo hyped me up tenfold, dude.
Yeah, we streamed this game and it was a blast.
It kind of felt like an open-ended Leopard Dead.
like you could go anywhere and you know prep for the next hoard but if you weren't ready you just
got ran over yeah i i think left for dead is the closest like you know for people that are
going okay well what is the game it it is very similar to left for dead it is a larger kind of open
map there it there's more it's not just left for dead so you know let's be clear but i i will say
i had an absolute blast i've been very excited for this game this demo absolutely sold me
Toxic Commando and what this game is going to be.
I already was excited, but playing the demo just got me where I was like,
yep, that's exactly what I was hoping this game was going to be.
You have classes, you have missions, you have multiple maps.
It goes from zero to a thousand in the chaos factor in a heartbeat.
I will never forget Ace, we were playing with the three of us in the Nexivis,
a good friend of the show.
And Ace was like, I don't know, guys, you think we should turn the difficulty level up a little bit.
famous last words, dude.
30 seconds later.
Because within like 60 seconds, all chaos broke loose.
All of us died.
Ryan had a self-revive that's, no, because Ryan had a self-revive.
Oh, that's right.
Yeah, yeah.
It was the most glorious, chaotic, just being imaginable.
I love games like this.
Toxic Commando is going to be an absolute blast.
Ace, I'm very curious for you because you do like hero.
shooters, but you don't generally play a lot of shooters.
How did Toxic Commando feel for you?
I felt very satisfying and good. And like you mentioned, the classes, you can kind of class
into what you want to do while you're out in the battlefield. And of course, me being
me, uh, I classed into support or medic. So I was still able to do my supporting role of
healing our team and getting next to his backup on, uh, his feet so he could kill everything
for me. But I just found it really satisfying, just mowing down.
hordes with that SMG and
melee in this game.
Melee is fun as heck.
It is so good.
I really enjoyed it. I was surprised
how much I enjoyed it. I thought it would kind of
be something I play with you guys and I was like
this is getting old. It's just another shooter.
But it's totally different.
Well, that's what I was talking about too, because it's not
just a dumb like, oh, let's just kill
zombies. There is a lot of
strategery, you know, within
within like the classes and the way you said
everything up. So like, like we talked about next had, um, his drone that was cruising around. And then
the drone can actually, that drone, the drone can res him. So then once he was res, he could run
around and do stuff. And then like the different abilities like the, you know, with the medic, like you
have an AOE heel. And there's just, there's so many different factors to each class, which changes
your gameplay. So there's, there's, there's a lot there. It's, it's kind of like there's more under the
covers, man. There's, there's a lot more than just a zombie game. It's not just a zombie game.
It's, it's a goofy, crazy, fun experience. You're going to laugh. You're going to have a lot of fun and
you're going to have a good time. But it's also, there is some cool stacking and planning and in ways to
play this game in a strategic manner that that makes it more advantageous for you, you know, for each
level. Yeah, kind of like how at the end, usually there's like one final stand against a massive
hoard at the end of the level. And if you have a bunch of spare parts, you can really prep for that.
Yeah.
Get the barbed wire up and electric fence.
You're ready for that hoard.
Otherwise, if you didn't find any spare parts,
good luck, brother.
The zombie hordes that can come about in this game are legendary, too.
Like, this is what I imagine, like, a zombie horde to be.
Not like, oh, they climb now.
This is, like, hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of zombies just flooding after you.
Like, what is it, Bayesian or whatever?
Where there's just, like, just swarms the wall?
Oh, my gosh, yeah.
Yeah.
that's what this felt like. So toxic Commando
absolutely put it on your radar. Even if you're not
a huge fan of shooters, I think this one
has a lot to offer. Lots of progression
elements. Just
dumb, laughing, co-op
with your buddies.
The demo really did its job. It got me
completely amped for this game to release
on March 12th. So,
all right. And then the next one we're going to
talk about Ryan
streamed this one last night.
This is a game that I,
from the moment I saw this game,
I instantly went, there's no way this game is this beautiful and should play like this.
But then the demo came out.
That is a game called the Eternal Life of Goldman.
This is an adventure platformer with honestly one of the most incredible art styles I think I've seen in a game.
And that's saying something, dude.
The way that this world comes to life with the movement in the foreground, the background,
and everything else is absolutely stunning.
On top of that, I think that there is actually a really good platformer underneath
the like just the visuals and the audio on this game.
So I played through the whole demo.
I started raving about it.
I said, guys, this demo absolutely solidified my thoughts on this game.
I feel like this game is going to be an absolute banger of a game.
Everybody needs to check this out.
I kind of forced Ryan to play it.
And then Ryan went, well, I'll just stream it.
So anybody that didn't catch the stream,
Ryan, I do want to throw this to you because I pick on you about,
I don't know that I've laughed so hard from somebody.
going from like, this game's stupid
to like, gosh, this game's great.
Like legitimately, like this game's great.
To like, oh, this is so dumb.
Why are they making me wait to jump on this one?
So I want to throw it to you as somebody that, you know,
it was a little bit up and down on this.
But what did you think about the eternal life of Goldman?
I do want to say, you,
you mentioning the game or talking about the game was for three days,
you just not, not shutting up about it for us.
So we like literally had to play it.
You know, there's, and there is a reason.
And this, this is sick.
This is a, this is, uh, like you said, it is one of the best art styles I've ever seen
in a game.
Um, it is utterly beautiful.
Every, every aspect of it in the foreground, the background, they, they do such an
amazing job at creating depth within this game where, where the whole world feels alive.
Uh, and this isn't a demo, mind you.
Like, what, what I've played is just the demo.
And like, the ability you can, you have your cane and you,
have the ability to change the amount you can use it as a weapon and bounce and swing with it.
There's so many different aspects to this game that are just, like I said, in the demo.
And it was, I was surprised.
I knew you liked it a lot.
But once I started playing, I'm like, okay, I see why.
And there's certain things I don't like.
And when mechanics are certain things like kind of just irk me, I just complain and whine about it.
And you'll see if you...
You just want to rush through everything.
I do. I'm a speed runner guy.
On platformers, I'd love to try to speed run.
I'd love to rip through it.
That's not good going your first time through a platformer,
because then you're like, oh, these floors just fall.
And you're like, oh, well, I'm dead.
You know, and so then you just die.
But there was a lot there.
There was a lot to be had within this game.
I am eagerly awaiting the release of this.
It is moved up tenfold to the top of my list.
It's way up there on anticipated releases.
If anyone hasn't seen it, watch trailers, watch our Twitch stream where I played the game.
It is very, very good.
It is an amazing platformer.
Like I said, the atmosphere is stellar second to none.
Dude, I can't wait.
Yeah.
Ace, what are your thoughts on this?
Is somebody that's a little bit more into this genre and appreciates beautiful art style and stuff?
Like, what did you think about this?
first things first. We've all touched on it. The art style is immaculate. It's kind of this
watercolor story pop-up book art style that's just so unique and I've never seen it ever
before. And that's hard. It's hard not to accidentally copy someone else's heart style. Genuinely.
But it's also an incredibly tight platformer on par with Celeste, I would dare say. If the full
game is as good as the demo was all the way through, Celeste might have a contender for
best 2D platformer in the indie genre.
I'll say this. If it's
as good as the demo was all the way
through, I'm going to say right now that
I think this game could be a game of the year contender.
I would agree. Like legitimately.
It's that good people.
I would agree. Listen, you know, we don't
you know, yes, we hype games, right?
We get excited about trailers, we hype up games.
But we do occasionally find a game that gives
us pause and we say, hey, there's something special
here. There's something
special about the eternal life of Goldman.
I'm just putting it out there. You've heard
from all three of us. Even, you know, Ryan, who was a little bit skeptical going in,
kind of went, yeah, dude, there's, there's something here. It's so good. It's so good, dude.
You know, just check it out. The demos available, you know, wishless this game. Be on the
lookout for it because I'm telling you there is something really special about it.
It's a decent demo, too. Like, it's like an hour and a half long. It's a good bit. Yeah,
you get three boss fights. Yeah, you got a lot of gameplay. You get, you could kind of understand the
mechanics and kind of what the game's truly going to be about. It's not like a 20 minute, 30 minute
little demo that doesn't show you much. You really get to see what this game is going to be.
And this is probably just a scratch on the surface. So if that's the case, dude, we're in store for
like a really, really good game. Yeah, I agree. No spoilers, but the third boss fight is my favorite.
Yeah, we know. We know what. We know. And then real quick,
here. Neither one of you played this, but I have to mention this game. There is a game called
Wind Rose that I have seen kind of on social media a little bit. I knew nothing about it.
This is a pirate survival crafting game that I played for legitimately probably like two hours
last night and I really want to dive back into. Oh boy. This is this is Valheim but with pirates.
You know, that's the best way I can describe it. It's a survival crafting game. Yes, I know those are
dime a dozen, but there's something about Winrose that just feels right. I told you guys,
it feels like a cross between Valheim meets Enchrooted. Enchroated's combat is really good.
Ace, you and I played a lot of Entrouted together. Yeah, it was a good time. You know, I'm starting
to get tired of the Souls like combat, you know, in games, but this game kind of does have that
where, you know, you can dodge and parry and attack. So the combat feels good. The world feels good.
the building and the crafting and the survival aspects all feel really well done.
I have not made it this far, but apparently you can finally get your pirate ship back,
and then you start sailing the seas, and you can do ship-to-ship combat.
You can manage your crew.
Is it PPP?
No, there's no PVP.
It's all PVE.
So it's like VAL-Hine basically.
So a massive, massive world procedurally generated, but, you know, it felt like Valheim.
and that's honestly the biggest praise I can get this game.
Yeah, I plan on playing the demo a lot more, actually,
over the next few days to kind of get more into this.
But they just announced also there are over one million wish lists on this game.
So there is something to Windrose.
So if you're a fan of survival crafting games,
this is one you should put on your radar.
I have dabbled in it.
I'm not ready to call it amazing yet,
but there's something there.
And that gets me excited.
So not just a lot.
another pirate game.
Not just another.
You know, pirate games, dude, they just generally don't hit for some reason.
They don't land.
They don't land.
It might be the one, man.
It looks good.
We'll see.
We'll see.
All right, listen, we've got to take a break and then we're going to come back.
We're going to talk about all this industry news going on.
You don't want to miss this.
So don't tune out on this because there's some important stuff coming here,
but we'll be right back after this break.
Guys, you know what I really want?
I want another Ubisoft game, right?
Like, can you imagine if Ubisoft just made another game?
But guys, if Ubisoft was going to make another game, surely at this point, they're not going to make another Far Cry or another Assassin's Creed, right?
They're going to, they're going to branch out a little bit.
Like this, the company's struggling, you know, they're going, guys, we got to do something to turn this ship around.
I know what it is.
Let's make a bunch more Far Cry games and Assassin's Creed games.
How does that sound?
That's going to fix it all, right?
We're making Far Cry, and my name's not Shirley.
Let's also go ahead and cancel the Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake.
Why not?
The one that everybody was really excited for wanted.
Yeah, that everyone was really excited for.
I, listen, okay, you know, I literally have this as the title for this for you guys, but I wrote out surprising literally no one on the planet Ubisoft is developing multiple Far Cry and Assassin's Creed games.
Not surprised.
Ace
RIP watchdogs
Do you have any hope for any of these?
This next
Assassin's Creed game might be good
because it's not being done
by the main team
but other than that
I have no idea
where we're going with Far Cry
and I don't know
what comes next
with Assassin's Creek
because last thing
last thing I heard
is they were working on
like the platform
for Assassin's Creed
where all the games
were going to be
and you had to go to that
platform to play the games
is like
I haven't heard a thing about that
recently
I have no idea
I
it would be softs in a bad place guys
it's looking bleak
it's looking real deep
what a weird fall from grace man
like to be that big
and to be to create
such amazing things
and then just like watch
it just like
like every time they try to
release something else
it just gets worse
and worse and worse
I don't think it was a do
do do I figure it like it was
Icarus they got too close to the sun
And they're like, oh, more money.
And then they're, right.
Yeah, exactly.
This is, there is zero innovation.
That's the problem.
We talk about innovation all the time.
You can't just keep regurgitating the same games.
Like, you know, this is, in my opinion, this is why Ubisoft's in trouble, dude.
They don't know how to make video games anymore.
They, they became a corporate company that only went, how do we get more people to do this, you know?
And there's zero different.
between Far Cry 4, 5, and 6, you know, and I'll be honest, I haven't played an Assassin's
Creed game in forever. I gave up on the series. Like, yeah, me too. It was, it just became,
you don't even know what you're making anymore. Yeah. You know, and, you know, if you love
these games, we've always said we're happy for you, but Ubisoft is in a bad place. They have
restructured multiple times. They're now trying to like put the onus on the, they're making these
houses. It's almost like a Game of Thrones thing where it's like house whatever is going to be
making like this far cry game and how something's going to be making assassin's creed and if it
fails we'll blame the houses instead of me uh as ubysoft and all that so that's the news shocker
i know who's who would have thought that ubsop's just going to keep trying to beat the same dead
horse over and over and over again but that's they announced it that's what they're doing so
yikes all right this one really hurts guys uh yeah you know i didn't even even
want to bring this up because this was all over the internet last week but we we got it you know
this is this is our job right so Sony who is struggling you know again I mean it's kind of like
Ubisoft like pay attention people like look what's working and what's not working and Sony should
be looking at Ubisoft and going that's not working we don't want to keep trying what they're doing
don't do that we should do something different don't do that yeah what's at the arrested development
where it's like uh I know like this didn't work for other people but what if it works for us
us, right?
Yeah.
Like, okay.
So Sony has had loss after loss after loss, right?
Concord and all these chasing live service dreams and all that, none of this working.
Well, in a move that honestly shocked the gaming world, they shut down BluPoint Studios.
This is insane.
Absolutely insane to me.
For people that don't know, because a lot of times people like, I don't know the studio name,
Blue Point Studios is the studio that personally handled a lot of.
remakes and ports for
PlayStation games. So they
were responsible for Shadow of the Colossus
and the remake
for I think it was PS4
at the time. Yeah, it was. They were
responsible for the God of War, the original
trilogy, God of War, one and two
remasters. They were in the
middle of a Demon
Souls remake, not remaster,
but remake that was looking
sick. You're never going to get it. You're
never going to get it. Demon Souls remake is out.
They were the guys. Oh, is
Oh, I'm thinking the live service got a war one.
Sorry.
You're thinking the got a word.
Remake.
Yes.
They have credit for that.
Which was awesome.
Yes.
Yes.
Which this is the point, right?
Is BluPoint Studios is beloved by gamers because it's like they have done a fantastic job at bringing the older games forward and then remaking like Demon Souls.
They were also working on a live service god of war game that nobody had really seen.
I know, right?
And it's like, okay, but live service got a war?
Yeah, that makes you wonder how that even works, but that is interesting at least.
And then Sony just went, yeah, we're shutting you guys down.
Yeah.
And it's like, wait, what?
Like, in a world where people, like, we just had Todd Howard talking about, he's a fan of remasters and not remakes.
Who's like, I don't like remakes.
I just want remasters.
And it's like, that's so Todd Howard of you, Mr. Bethesda.
That's so Todd Howard of you.
Yeah.
But then you have like this company that can actually make these games, these remasters and these remakes and do it.
bang up job of it and then Sony goes yeah we don't really need that anymore and they just shut
them down dude this was soul crushing well these were the guys everyone was kind of eyeing to
eventually do the bloodborne remake bloodborne yep i know that's what that's what and now it's never
gonna happen you're never gonna get it dude i'm never getting blood porn anywhere yeah it's so
disappointing dude it just i don't there's a lot of people mad at sony right now
because it's like, why would you shut down a beloved studio?
Like, you know, shut down Concord.
That's fine.
That didn't work out.
Shut down this one.
That didn't work.
Okay.
You know, but like you're shutting down like an actual beloved studio that knew what they
were doing.
Like, what the heck, man?
I don't know, dude.
It's all you see, though.
It's like nothing but shutdowns.
Like, when do you see like, oh, new startup studio, you know, coming this way?
You know, you don't see that anymore.
Like, you know, why?
Because they started chasing the money.
versus the passion.
Like we say this time and time again, dude.
Like, and this is why I say, look at Ubisoft, man.
You know, it's like, dude, when you lose your passion for making video games,
this is what happens.
And it's like Sony, how many, how many multi, hundreds of millions of dollars in losses,
does Sony have to suffer before they go?
Maybe we should change the way we approach this, right?
Like, here's the other thing.
Now, I've turned the corner on Marathon, right?
I think Marathon's actually going to wind up being pretty good.
It's actually looking okay.
It's looking pretty good.
And I've turned the corner on that.
But you realize Sony owns Bungy.
If Marathon flops, dude, if Marathon flops,
Sony is going to be reeling at that point, you know,
as far as their games go.
You know, obviously, you know, PlayStation is kind of its own thing.
But, you know, this is why we keep saying the rise of indies,
support your indie devs because it's like you only have to look around.
at the other big players and go, what is happening and what is everybody doing wrong?
And again, I don't want to keep beating Ubisoft to death, but it's like, look at Ubisoft.
You can't figure it out.
You can't figure it out because you've lost your way, man.
And your desire is to make money and not to make video games.
All of it is that way, though.
Like you see it in the movie industry, too.
Like, when was the last time you saw something, Ace, what was that movie that you went and saw that is an independent film?
Iron Long.
Ironloan.
It's going crazy and it's an independent film.
Like,
and that's,
because it's something new and genuine and it's not Avengers 18 or Fast and the Furious 27.
Like there's,
there's something to trying something new and putting in the effort to making something authentic.
And passion cells.
People can feel it and people know.
And as much as the corporate world thinks we're morons,
like we're not.
Like we can feel when something has a genuine.
nature to it and and what we've been given doesn't have that and uh and you know the sales numbers
are showing it so yeah yeah sad all right uh and then this next one this was the big news for the week
uh phil spencer retired from microsoft gaming he was the CEO of Microsoft gaming he's been
i think it was 36 to 38 years he was with them in the gaming industry he finally just said
you know what i'm going to go live my life i've made enough money um
So he retired.
This kind of shook up a whole bunch of things at Microsoft slash Xbox.
The Xbox president, Sarah Bond, was the kind of, you know, predicted successor to Phil Spencer.
And then she just quit.
Yep.
I'm out.
So I don't know what caused that.
And then they kind of had to scramble.
And then they said, okay, well, you know, we have this new lady that we're going to hire, you know, since Phil's out.
and Sarah is out.
It is, they have named the new CEO of Microsoft Gaming.
Her name is Asha Sharma.
The big thing that gamers are worried about on this one is she was like the head of the
AI department or something like that.
I'm sorry.
Head of AI department and also she just made an Xbox account.
It's like she's not a gamer.
Yeah.
Phil Spencer was a gamer.
He had an Xbox Live account and you could see his hours in the games he was
playing. She's not a gamer, which
putting control of a gaming company into the hands of
someone who doesn't game.
What we were just talking about, man.
Bad idea. Bad idea.
How are you going to direct a gaming company when you don't
know anything about gaming? And then that is
not giving people confidence, man.
You don't know the difference between an X and A button.
Like, how are we supposed to trust you?
Well, it depends on which console you're on, because anytime
I try to help my wife on the Nintendo Switch,
and then she's like, you've got to press X.
X is in a different spot.
And I'm like, this doctor just hurts my brain.
I keep messing up because X is not where X should be.
X is to the left.
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
So I'll be honest, you know, we're not CEOs.
We're not corporate guys.
We're not industry experts.
So we're not rubbing elbows with Phil Spencer and all that stuff.
So it's like, it doesn't give me confidence.
That's, I think the main takeaway for a lot of gamers with this is like,
it doesn't give us confidence that we're going to get somebody that understands
gamers. With her AI background, you know, there's a lot of gamers that are very adamant about no AI.
You know, it's one of those things where so I know there's a lot of people that are harping on that.
I am an optimist. I want to take the, we'll wait and see what happens approach, but I know a lot of people are going rip Xbox, right? Like, sorry, dude. Like, this is not good news. Yeah. That's not good. I mean, they haven't made any big moves recently anyway, but they is now. The thing is you can't, like you, you, you can't, you can't.
You can't expect somebody who doesn't live in that world to, this isn't about making good games or making good product for people.
It's about making money.
You hire, they, they hire this person to make it the most money for the company.
Like, and that's what it is.
And at the end of the day, that's what a business's job is.
But also, you know, that's why these companies are failing because they're focused.
They're so hardlined on the money.
they're not creating a good product
and they're like,
how can we make the most money
and squeeze every penny out of everybody?
And then you end up with this product
and then you get Ubisoft
and that's what we got to deal with.
So yeah,
it's a weird hire for a video game company,
but I guess we'll see how it plays out.
Yeah.
All right.
And then one final,
just quick announcement that we'll make
Resident Evil Requiem.
We're all hyped.
I cannot wait to dive in this weekend.
Ace is more excited than any of us.
I'm excited.
I'm excited.
Darn straight I am.
But there are,
there have been leaks on the internet about the end of the game.
Capcom has actually come out and said with a like an announcement that said,
hey, please don't spoil the game for people.
You know,
was it the,
all the director said something way funnier.
Let me.
Yeah.
He said that you deserve 10,000.
and deaths if you spoil a video game for somebody, which is true.
Like, people that spoil things for people, you guys, you're the most rotten, like,
like, intentionally.
Like, it's one thing if it's an accident, right?
Like, that's like, okay, we can forgive something.
That happens, right?
But if you were the person that is intentionally posting spoilers on the internet, like,
you, you are the lowest of the low.
Yeah.
Oh, Ryan.
Oh, okay.
Crazy, Ryan.
How dare you?
Jack, guys.
Jack dies.
Rosebud's a sled.
Anyway.
He said, okay, here's his full quote.
A detestable act that destroys everyone's happiness and deserves a thousand deaths.
May you be cursed to never play games again.
Love it.
Yeah.
I back that up 100%.
That's the gamer creed right there.
You know, so just be careful.
If you're really excited for Resident Evil Requiem, just be careful because there are spoilers out there.
Also, here's the thing, guys.
anytime I see a company release a statement that says please don't spoil things for people,
it always gets me really excited because it means there's something to spoil.
That's exactly right.
I remember when Star Wars like the 7, 8, 9 came out and they were like,
please don't spoil anything for people, right?
And I just remember going like, what's the twist?
And then you go and see it and you're walking out and you're like, oh, man.
I'm excited.
I like, if they're saying don't spoil it, what does that mean, man?
So I don't know.
They hid Leon in this game for so long.
I don't know what else they could be hiding.
Yeah, I don't know.
So all.
All right.
Well, listen, there you go.
You're all caught up on your news.
