You gotta try breakfast at you gotta try.
And what better way than with a delicious Pret organic coffee?
Starting with just $1 all day, every day now until December 31st.
You gotta try breakfast at A&W.
I'm participating A&W locations in Ontario.
Fellow gamers and welcome to the Video Gamers podcast.
There's an awful lot going on in the video game world right now,
from the latest Nintendo direct to BlizzColns.
Reveals and another massive Sony snafu.
We've got your weekly dose of video game news.
You need to know.
But before we get to everything that's happening in gaming,
some introductions are in order.
I am your host Josh.
And joining me, they might have announced Diablo 5,
but he's really just waiting for the remake of the Diablo 2 remaster
because he's an old man stuck in the past.
It's Ryan.
I would pay a lot of money for that D2RR.
Give it to me.
I want more.
I can't.
Ryan,
this is baffling to me.
We'll get to it in a minute, man.
We'll get to it in a minute.
And joining us,
he may not be a big AAA guy,
but even he knows letting your direct competitor land one of the most iconic
game makers to ever exist probably wasn't the best move for Sony.
It's A's Sony just generational fumbles back to back to this year.
Like, oh, my God.
We'll get to it, but oh, my gosh.
How is somebody, like, how is the CEO of Sony not just like, fired?
Fired?
I don't know.
We'll see more Sony layoffs at the end of the year, and they will be listed, I'm sure.
I don't, guys.
I mean, we're not trying to pile it on.
He'll probably get a bonus.
Yeah, honestly, like, CEO gets $40 million bonus of 4,000 people laid off.
And then it's like, what are you doing, man?
Delete sucker punch.
We're not trying to pile on Sony, but we do this anytime somebody asks for it.
Nintendo asked for it a while back.
Nintendo Direct actually wasn't terrible.
Wasn't nothing special.
Wasn't bad.
Wasn't good.
I mean, it had some pretty strong heavy hitters.
I'll say that.
Yeah, I think that that's kind of the thing with the Nintendo Direct.
And then we do have some news from BlizzCon for anybody that hasn't been following.
We won't spend a ton of.
a time on that stuff just because if you don't play Blizzard games, you're not the most interested in that.
But if you do play Blizzard games, you probably are very excited for what's been announced at BlizCon and stuff like that.
So we will be covering that.
Rip Sombra.
Yeah.
I, dude, as somebody that has a lot of play time on Sombra, I don't know how I feel about this because I actually really, okay.
See, Ace, you just have a small addendum.
I wasn't trying to go into a tangent here.
Well, we're going to talk about it.
So I, oh, man.
All right.
I got it.
Look, look.
I'm a host.
I'm going to, we're going to start with the great, the big news first.
No, no, no, guys.
No.
And then we're going to start with the review.
Yeah.
That's what we're going to do.
You're going to do.
I blame Ace for this.
Yeah.
You got me thinking about the somber.
How dare I?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
So, I'll take a.
Before we get started, before we kind of go into all the madness that we have to talk about today, we're going to read a review.
This is a five-star review coming in.
We love all these reviews.
Everyone that leaves one, we read them.
We try to read as many as we can on the show.
This one is titled, Five-Star Review, Best Podcasts Ever, and if you read this, my name isn't the account name because this is my mom's account.
My name is Dreamblaze 1243 on Discord.
And don't worry, Ryan, that's not actually a GTA 6.
It's a mini game from FNAF 6.
This is my favorite podcast in the world.
I accidentally clicked on it a few months ago,
and I have listened to like every episode since.
The Discord is great, and it has, it's not some wasteland,
like most that I join, are.
Also, please deep dive Undertale or FNAF or People Playground.
They are some of my favorite games.
well thank you it was a great
yeah that was a really good review
and hijacking your mom's
hijacking your mom's account
pretty baller move that's the way you do it
if you've already left the review
leave one on your moms as well
please if not I will
this is honestly dreamer blaze
huge shot out taste got it
I was trying to get Dreamer Blaze the spotlight
here and that was pretty good
that was pretty good right I was giving me that
yeah
but no seriously
Thank you, number one, for getting creative and figuring out a way to leave a review for us.
You rock for that.
We have seen you in the Discord.
We see you in the comments as well.
Listen, you know, we tell people this all the time.
We are gamers.
We are not some, we're not, you know, internet celebrities.
We're not industry insiders that can't be bothered to talk to people because, oh, we're famous and we do all these things.
You know what I mean?
Like, we're not famous YouTubers or anything like that.
We are gamers, just like all of you out there.
And just like all of you out there, we read every comment.
We read every review.
We are in touch.
This is something that we love to do.
We're passionate about it.
And this is why we love seeing these reviews and your comments on Spotify and why we love getting new ratings for the show and stuff like that.
So shout out to you, Dreamer Blaze, for getting creative and figuring out a way to write us a review.
And thank you also for the super kind words.
Also, you don't want us to review undertail.
I'm just going to tell you that.
Yeah.
Been there or done that.
That didn't end well.
Yeah.
So.
Great music, though.
All right.
So about that somber rework, guys.
There's go.
No, no, no, no, no.
No, dang it.
Take it back to our father and PlayStation now removed.
What on earth is freaking Sony doing, guys?
Shooting themselves in the foot yet again.
I don't even know if it's the foot at this point.
I feel like they're shooting themselves in the groin.
No, I think that they've turned the show.
shotgun on themselves and are just
Yeah.
They put on a one zee and try to zip it up.
Oh no.
Don't.
Don't.
Don't.
No, no, no.
Those who listen to the pre-show would know what I'm talking about.
Yeah.
They don't need to know right now.
No, I, dude, we were, I said this to you guys the other day.
It's like, I feel like maybe one, two at the most years ago.
We were saying, dude, is Xbox dead?
Like, what's Microsoft going to do?
Sony's destroying them.
They're just burying them in the ground and then look at where we're at just shortly after that.
It's crazy.
Isn't it crazy that all they had to do was get rid of Phil Spencer and replace him?
Right.
Isn't that weird though?
Because most people liked Phil a lot as like gamers.
He didn't do anything.
Yeah, but then you come to find out, guy wasn't really doing a whole lot.
He wasn't innovating on what they had.
Well, one, Ace, why don't you tell people what Sony did on this one?
because we're hammering them ahead of the time
because this might be one of the dumbest moves
I think I've seen them do.
In Sony's infinite wisdom about three months ago,
they decided they were going to cancel funding
for Kojima's next big game, Fizant,
which, to those you don't know,
that was his next big IP that was similar to Metal Gear.
It was a spy espionage title.
If you know Kojima, he's not going to take that.
No.
So he spent the last three months looking for a buyer
and oh, and behold, Xbox was absolutely happy to welcome him over with open arms.
So Sony has lost Kozima.
They no longer have him.
What a blow.
Insane.
And he was already, like, on the fence about them because of the physical media stuff.
Like, he was not a fan of losing physical media.
Yeah, he's very anti-going full digital as well.
Ryan, you love Metal Gear.
You know, so, Kojima, like, you know, response.
for the Metal Gear series, Destranding, Destranding 2.
You know, a lot of people call him, you know, he's very, I was going to say the father of gaming.
He's not the father of gaming necessarily.
Yeah, but like, you know, if you're a gamer, you know Hideo Kijima.
And he has been working with PlayStation and Sony for decades now.
And nobody's ever been able to touch him.
He comes up with some of the craziest, wildest games out there.
They definitely have a flare.
whether you love his games or you hate his games
you can appreciate the creativity
and kind of the mind behind them
Dust Dranings a really good one right
like incredible world incredible sci-fi
incredible characters
gameplay it's a hit or miss for a lot of people
but you can't deny that this guy has a vision
for his games and he makes that happen
and he is wildly popular
in the gaming
nobody makes games like him
you can always tell when it's a Kajima game
You can tell what it's a Kizema game.
They're always a little bit off the wall.
They're always a little bit unique and crazy.
They have, like you just said, Josh, a weird flare to them.
They always are just a little different.
They're going to be beautiful.
They're going to be cinematic.
They're going to be very long.
He never skimps on the length of a game.
And he puts his whole heart into it.
And those sell.
It just always, it's that name and it's that recognition.
And whether you like that style or not,
a lot of people do and the games always sell and so I feel it's just it's crazy for Sony to
let this happen not figure out a way to you know make amends or do whatever they started it
they gave up the funding for his game like they knew they were poking the bear because he was
already on thin ice with him yeah so they should have known that doing this was not going to hand well
and they haven't said anything they haven't said like anything they well because what like at
what are they going to say you say you know like he
This goes back.
Listen, our Sony Smackdown episode just came out.
You know what I mean?
So, you know, number one, go listen to that if you haven't.
We talk about all of the things that Sony has just absolutely just dropped the ball on, man.
So if you need some insight.
And listen, we are not console war people.
I don't, I could give too farts.
Sony versus Xbox versus Nintendo versus Steam.
It doesn't matter, right?
We just want good video games to play.
We're just gamers.
So before anybody that's new is listening going like, oh, these guys hate Sony, no, we don't.
We love all games.
The problem is that we call people out when they start doing stupid things.
And we've done this with Nintendo for a while.
We did it with Xbox for a while.
And now Sony is just throwing their hat in the ring and going, ooh, what about me?
What about me?
And we're like, okay, well, I guess you're up because you keep doing all this stupid stuff.
Letting Hideo Kajima go because he was making a single player game.
This goes back to Sony chasing the live service model.
guys. This is 100% what this stems from.
So anybody that might be like, why would they do this?
This is why.
And we covered it on the Sony Smackdown episode because Sony is trying to put every ounce
of effort into live service games because like Helldivers and like Fortnite and like
Overwatch or any other League of Legends or any live service type game, they make you billions
of dollars if they hit.
The problem is Sony doesn't really know how to make these games hit.
too is the last game that was wildly successful in the live service thing and let's be
honest i don't know how much input sony had on that other than being like the parent company for that
yeah almost killed it twice because they did almost kill it twice they're like PlayStation
network sign in stuff yeah and so this is i don't like i said you know i think that them staying
out of that actually helped but that focus on live service i think is absolutely what led to them going
hey Hideo Kajima, look, we love you, buddy, but you want a lot of money for your game.
And we're not really about them single player games so much anymore.
So it's not you, it's us.
It's not like Kajima's games aren't successful either.
Destranding 2 was in the game awards last year.
Yeah, whether you liked it or not, they sell.
And like it's just, it was there.
Yeah, it's, yeah, it's crazy.
The thought of, of, yeah, letting him go is a, that's a nightmare.
I don't know why you would do that.
Dude, so, so Kajima goes, hey, you know, I knew that this was over with Sony.
I started looking around at potential partners because he's passionate about his games.
I mean, if nothing else, this dude is super passionate about his projects.
That absolutely comes through.
And then he goes, I was looking for partners.
And then lo and behold, Xbox comes to me and says, bro, we got you.
We got you, homie.
And now he's working with Xbox with this, this.
fizzant?
I keep on to say science
because it's like an espionage game.
I think it's physical.
I don't know.
Maybe.
We don't know.
All I know is seeing Kojima and like Xbox is so weird.
It's.
It's so weird.
The picture he took with the executives where he's standing holding an Xbox with his
name engraved on it.
Yeah.
With her.
Smiling ear to ear.
You know they won.
They hit the jackpot, man.
Oh yeah.
They're like once he left, they're like, yes.
They're all like high-fiving in, you know, in the conference room.
This is our chance.
Yes, we got it.
Like one of them, one of them changed their profile picture to Kajima holding an Xbox like this, like a rocket launch.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, I, dude, kudos to Xbox, who is desperately trying to salvage their reputation.
What a comeback.
What a combat.
But like, that's cool.
You know, now, don't get me wrong, this game's going to cost a ton of money.
Like, he does not make cheap games.
These are very, very high production value games.
They're going to cost probably hundreds of millions of dollars, but it's Kojima.
And if this game is absolutely incredible, which it probably will be, that only helps Xbox at that point.
And now, Kojima and Xbox have this relationship that is now salutified that Sony ruined.
And that can only be a good thing as well.
So, you know, Sony, bro.
Do better.
You got to look in the mirror and check yourself.
Please.
Because there's something going on here.
And then Xbox and Microsoft
buy the rights to Metal Gear from Konami.
And then they make Metal Gear Solid Six.
Maybe that's a secret.
They might.
They could do it.
And they bring back David Hader to voice Snake.
And he goes, Metal Gear.
And then it's awesome.
And I love it.
And I feel like I'm a kid again.
Oh, man.
What could happen?
I'm very curious to see this game too.
Yeah.
I want to see what happens there.
But just another ball dropped by Sony.
Xbox saw the opportunity.
I think it's really smart of them.
Yes,
is it going to cost a bunch of money?
Sure.
I think they'll make that money back hands down.
And again,
you have just really made a good move
against your competitor,
which I think is also smart.
All right.
We're going to take a very quick break
because we got to talk about the Nintendo Direct.
There was three games,
I think that we're pretty decently
shown off that we want to talk about.
And then we'll get to the,
just BlissCon is kind of some quick hitters.
We'll talk about that right after this break.
All right, guys, the last time we had a Nintendo Direct,
it was not good.
It was not good at all.
It happened last time.
Yeah.
And so this time we got another Nintendo Direct.
I think the big one here is just we got a really,
we finally got a good look at the Okerina of Time remake.
What did you guys think of this?
Everyone right now in their car is like
They're singing along
They know
They know
They can stop
I think it looks great
Like genuinely
It does really look good
It looks so good
It's a little uncanny at some points
But I think that's just the original design
because Zelda's always kind of looked a little uncanny.
Like all of it, it's never been like,
yeah, I get that.
Very forwardly, like super realistic and gritty.
It's always had some kind of artistic flair or style to it.
I think this looks great.
This is what I imagined, I think,
Ocreen Uptime looked like when I was playing it for the first time as a kid.
Is it okay, if I'm not the only one that, like, in my brain,
I was like, yeah, this totally looks like.
Yeah, this is awkwardly.
If you look at it back then, you're like, oh, wait a minute.
Yeah.
So many.
polygons right yeah i i really like this guys like i legitimately we always say show me the gameplay
show me the gameplay right and we got the tiniest little snippet when they announced it it was like
i don't know five seconds worth and we're like is that the game yeah i am in boys i mean the way
that they have done this remake the the way that this game looks now the like the camera angles
and the like spectacle that they showed off in this like three minute trailer
that we got, I am so in on this game.
I don't know how I feel about the voice acting.
I don't know about voice acting and what is other.
That's subjective a lot of times.
I almost prefer that with these like older looking games or the older games.
I also do think it was smart for them.
They said like it's going to have more like visual objectives, not just trying to
guess where to go next, which is smart because modern day gamers are not going to be
able to figure out N64 style games.
Oh, yeah, from back then for sure.
Where's my yellow paint?
Yeah.
Where's my glowing?
Where do I jump?
I don't know where to jump.
What do you mean?
I have to get a running start to jump.
Wait, that was such a slander against modern gamers, by the way.
It's not, it's not a slander.
If it's true, it's true, it's not a slander.
It's pretty much the default option for all games at this point.
There's a reason it's there, dude.
That's why every game has like detective vision and white paint or yellow paint.
Well, let's be honest.
Zelda's been known to do this with Navi and Mids.
none all these characters anyway
where it's like, I'm not going to, don't, don't.
The one, two things.
One, I have a slight issue is because there's a meme with the DLSS5 or whatever on.
And it's got Hasbula as, as Link, and I can't unsee it now, which is kind of an issue for me when I'm playing.
So it's going to be a little bit of a problem.
But I do like the thought of a lot of people, this is their favorite Zelda.
And I'm interested to see with the remake and a kind of a rework on the ability to control a little bit better and have kind of more quality of life stuff.
If that'll hold true.
If people are going to still think that it's their favorite or if it holds up to, you know, modern gaming with the rework.
So I'm going to be interested to see kind of what the response is and what people say.
overall just like top to bottom.
I'm excited about the manual jump button instead of having to do run-up jumps.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, there's definitely going to be some quality of life stuff in this.
The graphics are vastly improved in my opinion.
There's nothing about this.
I was a little worried where it's like what's this style going to be?
Is it going to look modern?
But I think the style is great.
Like I said, they showcase some of the boss fights, the world traversal, the like the temples.
Like if you guys remember Okrean of Times, the infamous like water temple and stuff like that with
the puzzles that you have to do.
I am really, like,
I don't get excited about remakes very often at all.
But, like, I don't know, dude,
they're kind of knocking it out of the park lately.
I mean, we just had the Black Flag remake.
Now we've got the Okrean of Time remake.
We've had the Dead Space remake for those that got to experience that.
Oblivion?
They're figuring out.
Some games just need a remake, like,
to fix a lot of the issues they had from limitations for consoles and time.
And it's like,
And as much as we kind of go like, not everything needs to be remade and not everything needs to be remaster.
I think you're right, Ace, that some games really do warrant this.
And I am all about the Green of Time remake.
So for those that don't know, this comes out, Nintendo, apparently the only company in the world and one of the most iconic games ever that's willing to take on GTA6.
And not only that, but they dropped it two weeks beforehand.
This comes out November 5th of 2026.
Which is hilarious that people are actually thinking like it'll outsell GTA.
It's not going to outsell.
It's not going to outsell.
It's not going to outsell.
It's hilarious.
It doesn't matter what the score is.
GTA will like tenfold Ocarina at a time in sales.
I don't know, man.
This is one of the most iconic games of time.
The one thing, of course, it is absolutely.
I'm 100% going to buy it.
To older gamers, though, Ace.
That's the kickers.
To older gamers.
Yeah, I don't know.
We're just.
Where does Zelda lie for the younger gamer?
I don't know.
I don't know.
That's the thing.
That's the difference is that I do think GTA6 will have more hype.
I kind of like sneered it Ryan a little bit, but like the older gamers are going to be really interested.
Younger people that never got to experience Okerina of time, I think they'll hear the hype, but I don't know if they have no connection to it.
They have no connection to it.
If they like Tears of the Kingdom, then they like that.
And then they'll play Okorina and be like, what is this crap?
I can't build anything.
I can't like, I have to search for stuff.
I have to look for things.
you know.
I'm just going to say this.
If this is a massive success and I don't get a Majora's mask remake, like, soon after.
Oh, Ace is going to flip the table.
I'm going to be swimming.
Dude, it's Nintendo Ace.
You think they're not going to do Majora's mask if this makes $1 billion of dollars?
I better get a remake of it.
It's just the reused assets again.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, man.
Yeah, like just the crappiest remake ever.
All right, we got to move on.
Guys, Metroid Ravenous.
I have realized
that I actually am a fan of the 2D
Metroid games more so than the 3D
Metroid games. Metroid Prime 4 came out. I know a lot of people
liked it. It wasn't really received all that well.
The last Metroid game that I played was
Dread, which was a 2D Metroid. This is what
Metroid started at. This is why we call them Metroidvania's people
because they were 2D games and this is what Metroidvania should be.
and now we've got another one.
I think Metroid Ravenus looks legitimately really good, dude.
I love the 2D aspect.
The combat looks great.
Metroid Dread was a ton of fun and really well done,
and we got this look at Metroid Ravenus.
Seamus is apparently marooned on some planet falls underground really deep
and has to work her way out.
And it's this journey of trying to just work your way out of wherever you fell into.
there's a lot to be shown here
like I said I think
you know the boss fights
the art style the 2D aspect of this
the ability to like absorb
powers yeah
like enemy powers to power up the power armor
and things it's cool
I'm gonna I'm gonna stop it real quick
hold on guys one sec
ace can you can you pronounce the
main character's name in Metroid
Samus
Samus Aaron
so Josh can you pronounce the main character's name
in Metroid? Samus Aaron.
You didn't say Samus the first time.
You said Samus. You did say Samus. You said Samus.
Like she's some Irish man.
Shamus. Shamus.
Well, okay. Because if you're Irish, which I am, it would be Shamus. Okay.
Okay. It wouldn't be because it's Samus, but okay.
Listen, we're getting called out on the comments for the mispronunciation podcast.
We are the mispronunciation podcast, apparently.
No, this looks great, though. It looks like a straight up sequel to Dread on us.
It looks sick.
It looks sick.
And I love, you think, like, a lot of people think 2D, like, you're just like, oh, it's probably going to look bad.
It's not going to look.
This looks amazing.
This looks amazing.
Like, there's depth to that screen.
There's, you feel like it's, there's more there.
And it looks really, really good.
I'm the same.
I love the 2D aspect of it.
Yeah, this one's cool.
I'm very excited.
Yeah, I'm in for this one.
I will actually be picking this up.
This comes out January 28th.
of 2027. So it is not that far into the new year. I will be picking this one up. I had a lot of fun
with Dread. I think Ravenus looks great. I want to see the angle they take on this. I'm curious to
see a little bit more as they break it down. But this is one that if you were a fan of the Metroid
series, especially the 2D ones, you should be paying attention to this because this looks really good.
All right. Last one that we're going to talk about from the direct is Kirby and the world beyond. I sent
this trailer to my wife. She instantly went, when does it come out?
Because this is her kind of game.
Honestly, I'm not super big into the Kirby games, but an open world Kirby like this, I think actually think it looks pretty good.
That's awesome.
Why have we not done this before?
That's so fun.
Because we're adults, ace.
That's why.
Oh, boo-hoo.
Kirby's for everyone, buddy.
This is true.
This game looks pretty good, guys.
I mean, I liked what I saw.
Normally I try to be a little critical of this stuff, but, like, there wasn't anything I saw that didn't make me go like an open world Kirby.
a la Mario game is kind of working for me.
Nintendo is the only ones who still do open worlds.
Like, I can still enjoy.
Just like the vibrant big open worlds.
Dude, that's honestly a really good point, Ace.
You didn't enjoy Red Dead?
You just...
Well, because let's be honest,
Metro 8 Prime 4 was an open world and not so great.
Well, I...
Yeah.
No.
I'm thinking more like Breath of Wild, Kirby,
I got you.
I got you.
I got you.
That's fair.
That's fair.
I think this game looks really good.
I personally won't play it just because it's not my style.
But like I sent the trailer to my wife and she was instantly like,
we're buying this.
When does it come out?
I need this.
It looks really good,
people.
Like I said,
a 3D open world Kirby game,
this looks like kind of the Mario 3D game that we've all been wanting that we
don't get for some reason.
People totally got baited into thinking this was a Mario game because the opening.
Oh, I know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So there you go.
So that was.
And then just some.
quick hitters persona six
is confirmed to be releasing
on the Switch 2. Final Fantasy
7 Revelation confirmed to be
releasing on the Switch 2.
And Monster Hunter Wilds confirmed
for the Switch 2.
That might explode your console.
That genuinely might make your console self-destruct.
Yeah, it's going to blow
up the Switch 2. But
you're getting it. So there you go.
All right. And then guys,
BlizzCon. Bliscon's going
on day two as of
this recording. We got a ton of news for the opening ceremony and opening day of
Blizcon. We're not going to spend a ton of time on these because they kind of did something we don't
love. And that is announcing a game that's like four years into the future. Yeah. With no
gameplay shown or anything to get us hyped other than a name and maybe a cinematic trailer,
which we love. Blizzard, listen, if there's one thing you do great, it's cinematic trailers. I'll
watch your cinematic trailers all day long. Yep. But also.
So you telling us that Starcraft is being reborn in 2030 as an open world shooter?
Now listen, I like what you're saying, man.
Starcraft, love it.
Open world, it depends on how it's done.
Shooter, I'm in.
2030, what the heck, man?
2030.
Why are you announcing games for 2030 at this point?
They need a bump in their stocks, man.
They need to move things up a little bit.
Maybe.
I don't get it.
Like it's just...
Why so long?
I don't...
Yeah, man.
Like, work on the game.
Get some stuff to actually announce.
Get something to show the people,
to get the people genuinely excited and to stay excited,
not forget about this,
and then announce it.
But I don't know.
I guess they just have to have something to do and have to have something to
announce and apparently maybe they don't have much else.
I...
How can you even predict that far out?
Like, for sure.
Like, oh yeah, spring 2030.
We'll have the game.
done. It's like, oh, it's going to get delayed. Because they can delay it as many times as they
want, you know, it's not going to get done early. We know that. Gosh, though. Um, I will say this,
knowing how Blizzard makes games. Like, whether you like Blizzard or not, like I said at the
beginning of the show, whether you like Blizzard or not, they make incredible video games. Like,
there's just no arguing that. Their games are incredible. Like, you know, they know what they're doing.
Yes, very, very high quality. A StarCraft open world shooter gets me real excited.
sighted inside.
Dude.
But I need to see it.
I need to see it in action.
I need to see what this is going on.
But I mean, guys, like my brain instantly goes to like, imagine like, I don't know,
space marine two, right?
But you're a Terran soldier fighting the Zerg.
Yeah.
In that kind of style of game.
Like, I could see that being.
Oh my gosh, dude.
Incredible, dude.
Like fighting the Protos.
Yeah.
Like, first person, first person open world StarCraft shooter like, oh my goodness.
like I could start daydreaming
and all kinds of things right now.
Yeah.
For hire.
So there you go.
But again,
we got a cinematic trailer that was super cool.
Poor guy.
You know,
he got,
he didn't make it.
But yeah.
Their official description for that was
from the furthest reaches of the stars.
A new mission calls.
Return to the Capruulus.
I don't know.
I don't say anything.
Return to the Capruleu sector.
When StarCraft,
an original open world shooter
Lance Spring of 2030.
Scheduled book it.
Lock it in. There you go, people.
Also requesting Spring of 2030
off of work right now.
Better not change.
The whole season? Yeah.
All right. Another quick hitter, Diablo 5
is announced.
Here's the kind of snippet
for it. A new age of darkness
is taking shape. Diablo 5
will be unleashed in spring.
of 2029.
In Diablo 5, sanctuary
has fallen and Diablo has won,
setting the stage for a brutal new chapter
that dares to ask,
what must you become when the world
has already fallen?
I feel like we didn't get Diablo 4 not
like too long ago and they were already like trying to kill it.
Well, we didn't. And they are killing
it because they did say that they're not
going to be making new content for Diablo
4.
Like, now that is taken with a grain of salt.
They're absolutely going to make like some DLCs and
some little things like that,
but they're not going to be continuing this,
like, active development for Diablo 4 at that point.
They're going to shift their focus to Diablo 5.
You know what they are doing?
We also, Diablo 2 still, just letting you know.
Just throwing that out there.
All right, Josh, you can continue on.
This kills me.
Are you going to play Diablo 5, Ryan?
Absolutely.
Day 1.
Yeah, day 1.
Yeah, they'll find out he hates it and go right back to the other.
I love.
I know.
That's what I'm thinking too.
I mean, I mean, I, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I killed Diablo like two Diablo.
ago, you know, it was a long time ago.
Apparently you didn't because he's won now.
Apparently.
For the fifth time. Somehow he survived.
Somehow Alpateen returned.
Somehow Diablo returned.
Diablo came back.
They thought he was a gonar, but so.
Oh, man. Also, day two of BlizzCon, this is breaking news.
We did just get an announcement that the Plague night class will be in Diablo 5, so that's a new
class that we've seen before as far as I know.
So there you go.
All right.
What's that?
I said,
neat.
Oh, neat.
Yeah,
I don't know what a plague night even does.
I don't know what a plague does either.
I thought they prevented the plague.
Yeah,
I don't know.
No,
they probably spread the plague.
We did get a lot of Overwatch updates.
We are massive fans of Overwatch.
We play it almost daily.
So for us,
this resonates a little bit.
Rip Sombra.
The two big takeaways,
are Sambra is being moved to support,
which absolutely.
baffles me. Sambra's like my
fourth most played player, by the way.
I went through a stint on Sambra.
Really? Where I played a lot. Yeah, he never
plays up there. He never plays it. I don't play. Yeah,
I do that. I get really good with the character and then
I just move on and don't touch it. Oh, you do?
Yeah. Oh, I must have missed all that.
I must have. That's fair.
That's fair. So yeah, Sambra's being moved into support.
I don't know how that's going to work. They basically kept
half her kit and then changed like where she
hacks teammates and heals them. Yeah. It all seems
very weird. She can't hack enemies anymore.
But why?
Why would, why, why the change?
Because they don't know what to do with her.
Because Somba is the most banned character in ranked.
She can be really oppressive.
Because she's like really oppressive.
Like when she, they buffed her at one point.
I love her at one point.
And the pros were playing Sombra.
And she was wrecking, dude.
Like wrecking the pro scene to so bad that they had to like nerve her like quick.
Because it was, she was so over tuned.
Also, Roadhog is getting reworked.
And by rework, we mean he's getting Sigma's,
absorbability.
And that's it.
He's getting a double shot on his shotgun as well.
Yeah, I don't know.
Oh, maybe I got a new tank, boys.
Yeah.
So you might actually.
We did get the reveal of, we did get the reveal of doctrine who we actually played last
night because we hopped in there.
This is your vampire support character.
He's cool.
This guy's super fun to play.
He's going to be nerfed soon.
Oh, he's getting nerfed.
Way Opie right now.
Way too strong.
But Doctrine is a lot of fun.
We all got to play him last night.
He's instantly like, I like this character.
So good on that.
He's available to test right now,
and then he'll be fully released
when the new season releases.
So there you go.
There's your Overwatch News.
And then some real quick hitters here.
For anybody that plays Heroes of the Storm,
Zalatath is joining as the newest hero there.
Warcraft 3 is getting a new D.L.
I didn't even realize people were still playing the Warcraft 3 remaster
because I thought that thing failed miserably.
But apparently they've got a DLC coming to it.
And then World of Warcraft Forever was announced.
And this is basically going back to like vanilla World of Warcraft,
but with some twists.
And the way they described it is Warcraft Forever is our new third World of Warcraft
experience alongside modern and classic.
Forever allows us to carve new paths and explore unseen corners of Azaroth during the Vanilla era,
with three new zones, over a thousand new quests, nine new dungeons, two new raids,
a new skyborne race.
What's what the skyborn, born stuff again?
I do.
Born stuff.
It drives me nuts, yeah.
And so much more.
World of Warcraft Forever launches in just a few weeks on November 4th, 2026, with the beta
starting September 17th, which is like legit, like right when this episode releases.
So there you go.
you can jump into the beta there as well.
I think from what I heard of from a friend that plays World of Warcraft is this is more
classic World of Warcraft, but they can introduce new zones and stuff, but it's not
going to be the dumb down, super simple, easy version of World of Warcraft.
It's more akin to vanilla.
So it should be harder and more fun.
Actually, I have to grind.
Yeah.
That makes sense.
And then that's basically it, guys.
That's your BlizzCon announcements.
That is your Nintendo direct.
and yet another botch
huge just drop the ball
with Kojima from Sony PlayStation
I'm a big Sony fanboy dude and I'm
having a hard time lately
don't worry guys Wolverine I'll save them
it's not gonna happen
no it's not
it's not gonna happen
whatever you say Bob
I got a little medic thing score
we're not trying to pile on Sony right now
but like I said this is this is
what we do. Anytime somebody is making a bunch of bad
decisions, we're going to call them out on it because that's
what gamers do. And Sony, you're not in a good
place. You need to figure it out real fast.
Like, real fast.
Xbox ain't in the best place either, but
they're at least kind of figuring it out
a little bit. And then
Nintendo's just sitting over here going,
guys, if we give them a legend of
Zelda game and a Kirby game and a Metroid
game, everybody will love us again.
They'll leave us alone.
You're not wrong, Nintendo.
You're not wrong. If we do the same thing we've been
doing for 40 years.
It'll work.
He'll love us again.
Nobody can stop us.
No one's going to know.
How would they know?
No one's going to know.
Here's my biggest problem.
Gamer problems, right?
These are the problems gamers face.
Legend of the Zelda O'Koreen of Time remake comes out November 5th.
You know what comes out six days before that guys or seven days before that?
Phantom Blade Zero.
Phantom Blade Zero.
What are we doing, people?
Because like, now I have to tell my wife, I can't play Okreene of Time Ream
remake with you because I'm going to be playing Phantom Blade Zero still.
And then it's like, I don't.
And then it's like what?
If I put off Okreene of Time for another week, now it's too close to GTA6.
So I don't have enough time to dive into Okina of Time before GTA6 comes out.
The life of a gamer, man.
It's not a world problem, man.
That's rough.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I don't know what to do.
It's tough owning a Nintendo Switch 2 and never playing anything.
Yeah.
Right.
At least I'll finally get to play something on this console.
So, all right, well, listen, there you go.
There's all your gaming news.
You are caught up on everything that's going on in the gaming world as far as we know it.
You know, there's some good stuff to look forward to, man.
The next, the rest of this year is absolutely packed.
I mean, packed with games, guys.
We're going to be, we're struggling to figure out what we're going to play and how long we're going to be able to play it before that next major game comes out.
But what a good place to be.
All right, listen, that's it for this episode.
