This is Wake Up to Wealth, a podcast dedicated to helping you change the way you think about wealth.
And now, here's your host, Brandon Brittingham.
This next segment is brought to you by my good friends at Accruity.
Now, if you run a business, most business owners neglect their back office,
and they don't even know where to go or who to trust when it comes to their financials or CPA or taxes.
That's where Accruity comes in.
You can trust them. They can give you advice and they understand the back office. Listen, you're not running a business correctly if you don't have a hold of this and it's really hard to trust people that are out there. And most CPAs frankly work for the IRS and don't work for you. That's not the case with Accruity. Check my good friends out at Accruity for any needs that you have when it comes to helping with your back office, getting your book straight, getting your taxes correct. And they guide you and give you advice, which most firms don't.
So check out my guys at a crueity.
Tell them I sent you.
All right, everybody.
Thank you for joining us again for another episode of Wake Up to Wealth.
And as we always say in the beginning, thank you guys so much for supporting the show.
You have consistently made us 125,000 plus downloads per episode.
And we consistently trend in the top five in investing.
And we've been trending in the top 25 in business, which is on Apple Podcast, which is
extremely amazing. So I thank you guys all so much for continually supporting us,
being part of our journey and making this show, one of the most popular shows in the United
States. Today we're not going to talk about investing. I'm actually kind of excited about this because
we got somebody that I've been in rooms with. I think mindset and how you're running everything
and what's going on internally affects everything that you do. And as a result of that, I got
Julie Peterson on here with us today. Thank you.
Yes, thanks for having me.
And she is a coach among many other things, and I've been lucky enough to spend some time around her.
And I asked her to come on here today because she's just really, really good at what she does.
And I think, you know, one of the things I just kind of learned hanging around you and kind of being exposed to a higher level of consciousness is that a lot of our problems come from internal, right?
and comes from shit that like we just don't deal with or handle.
So if you wouldn't mind, just tell my audience who you are and what you do.
Yeah.
Thanks, Brandon.
My name is Julie Peterson and I'm a coach.
I'm a guide.
I'm a shaman.
I'm a medicine woman.
And I help people.
And sometimes that question is a little bit hard for me to answer because I'm like,
I do so many things.
People are usually coming to me not because they're having some big midlife crisis,
but because something.
missing and the most common thing I hear is that it's fine but it's not great and you know they'll maybe
they want more confidence or they want a better relationship or they want more wealth or they want
they want to just to feel a lot of people are numb and they're just feeling kind of empty and so they
just they're just they're wanting more and as I ask them questions and we get into you know what do
you actually really want um that fine I'm fine I'm like well let
let's work with that because I have a saying, if you're fine, then it's fucked because it should
be fantastic. Yeah. And so when you, you work with, you know, obviously a lot of people,
but you definitely work with some driven individuals because you work with people that are
in my circle, right? You know, what do you think, what is the common thing? Like, what do you see?
Like, what is it one thing that blocks internally? Like, what is got them in that position do you see?
Well, the title of your podcast, wake up.
Yeah.
The first part.
And that I think that's what we have in common is that we're helping people wake up.
You're doing it in a little bit of a different way.
But I would say that that's the thing that's consistent with everybody is they don't know what they don't know.
95% of behavior what drives the subconscious is in our emotional bodies.
It's the emotion.
And it's unconscious.
So if we're only accessing 5% of our consciousness of our mind, there's a lot that's missing.
So the consistent thing is that people don't know what they don't know.
They are doing their best.
And most people are working from mind, which is great.
Mindset's important, but it's one piece of the whole puzzle.
If there's another, and let me feel into, most people are in.
they don't realize it, but they're in some form of survival.
Yeah.
They're in fear.
Yeah.
And so they're motivated by this place of proving or lack.
And while it's possible to do anything and you can create wealth from a scared place,
but you'll be much more successful and you'll do it much quicker if you can move out of that fear,
that survival, that contracted place, and do it from a place of expansion.
I was hoping you were going to go there.
So it's such an important and valid point.
How come most people don't even know that that's where they're operating from?
Because it's in their unconscious.
That's a great question.
Why do they not know that that's where they're operating from?
Because we're on autopilot.
I mean, most of what we do, you and I included, we are on autopilot.
No doubt.
Unless we make a conscious choice to say, okay,
why did I just respond that way? What just happened in my body? Why did I just experience that trigger?
I'm acting from a place that's unknown to myself. So unless you make the decision that you want to hire a coach or you want to work on personal development or you realize I need help, then it's how do you become aware of it?
And the reason you mentioned that I work with a lot of people in your circle who are very successful. Well, successful people know they can't do it.
alone. They know they need help. They know they don't have all the answers. And those are the people
that hire. They have teams of coaches, teams of people to help them because they know that that's
the secret. Yeah. So most people don't know because it's just you don't know what you don't know.
And unless you're forced to act on it, you're not going to do anything. And the other thing is
most people don't act on something until there's a crisis. Until they've lost there. There's an
affair or they're bankrupt or they're totally addicted to drugs or they're, you're,
they're just, or they're just, they're empty.
And finally they get to a place where they ask for help or they realize, I need to do something.
Is there, you know, this is probably hard to answer on the fly, but is there an example you could give?
And because I know, like, you got to go deep when you coach somebody on this to get them around it.
But is there an example that someone could listen to this, you could say, hey, you're operating out of surveillance,
revival if you do this and here's one way you could start to work on to fix it just to give them
just like something as a as a little bit of a guide or maybe a takeaway yeah um okay so sorry ask me
the question again asking another way so i think because i coach a lot of entrepreneurs too right
and so here's where i think the problem lies at least this is what i've seen with in my journey with
a lot of people who run, you know, businesses like mine.
Mm-hmm.
A lot of times they didn't come from money, right?
Most of the time.
Most of the time.
Yeah.
And then what happens is then they get it and then they want to protect it because
and now it actually creates another level of fear that they didn't have, right?
Because the fear before was, I don't have money.
I just want to get it.
And then there's almost like this trick in their brain of like, when I get it,
I'm going to be satisfied and happy.
And then they actually get it.
and then it's almost like they go into a different level of survival.
Do you know what I mean?
Yeah, totally.
And then they operate from this different level of survival.
And then to your point, like they don't even know it because it just becomes subconscious.
I got to build the walls around the money.
Do you know what I mean?
And then actually, which is wild as shit, instead of when you get more wealth,
a lot of people you would think become more abundant mentally, they actually become more scarcity-minded.
Yeah.
So the reality of it is, like, for instance, for me, to try to frame this for you is the, what I learned is that I had to detach my happiness to the amount of money I had.
Right.
And because for the longest period of time, that's what I, that's what my identity in my life was.
Right.
And then so I would make it and then not be fucking happy.
And then I'd be like, well, if I make more, I'm going to be happy.
And then I wouldn't.
And then so I actually had to detach it and be like, I had to almost create this world of like,
I can always go make more, right?
No matter what happens to me, I can figure it out.
And then I started being abundant.
Then I started being abundant with giving it away.
Then I started being abundant with, well, now I can help people.
Now I can do this.
Now I can do that.
So in your experience, what have you seen as maybe like a trigger or an unlock or any
advice you could give somebody that's operating off that survival mode of how they can change.
Yeah. Thank you. Thanks for going deeper with that question because there are so many different
directions I can go with this. I mean, the first thing that I would say is that money is different
from wealth and different from abundance. And so just because you can call in money if you're
operating in scarcity, in fear, in a lack of worthiness, that money might come in, but now that
protection is that's actually connected to, I have to protect it because I didn't have it.
I'm not worthy to have it.
I can't.
It's going to go away.
And now if you start to sink it up to core wounds around abandonment, rejection, and in very disempowered
places, people now start to have a relationship with it that's just really unhealthy. So something I would do
is I would work on the, I would work at the level of safety. And that's probably the number one thing
that I do with most people is get them to safety. Because if they realize they're safe,
they're okay. They can relax their body. They can relax their nervous system. And they can start to
create a different relationship with it.
But underneath that, I want them to create a different
relationship with themselves.
Because if they're, and the two examples that are coming to mind,
I'm thinking of people where their father left.
And so here they were, they had single mom.
There's a grind there.
In both instances, I'm going to use the woman as an example.
Dad left, and the problem that we were trying to solve
was she would work from the moment she woke up.
up till she would go to bed, she would work. And if a client called at 6 a.m., she would answer.
And if a client called at 8 p.m., she would answer. And if she was at dinner on a date, she would
answer. And she said, Julie, why do I do this thing where I can just never stop? And I said, well,
you know, I started to ask some questions. And it's never about the thing we're talking about.
It's always layers deep. And it's usually many layers deep. And so my goal is to get to the
root, because if we don't get to the root, we're going to continue to have the thing come up.
So I ask a question. We go in through an emotion. The emotion usually unlocks a sensation. There's tightness in the chest or there's a pit in the stomach because the body's just this beautiful intelligent feedback loop. And so we get to the root and the root was my dad left when I was a baby. So I don't want anyone to ever leave me. So I'm going to show up for she's the team lead. She's got a great, her business is doing great.
but she has to show up for all of it because she doesn't want to ever be abandoned.
So I would work at safety.
The other thing I would do, I'm thinking of another client who he is just, he is a hustler.
I mean, he is a hard, hard, hard worker and experience some pretty extreme trauma as a child, very, very unsafe.
And life only showed him that life wasn't safe, that you couldn't trust anybody, that you couldn't count on anybody.
so it was all on him.
So at 56 years old, he's pretty tired because he's been going, going, going, wondering why he's hitting a limit.
And what I did with him is I actually took him into, well, one, create a lot of safety.
We played with mindset a little bit because mindset's powerful.
And, I mean, you know, you can do so much with mindset, but you also have to go in and work with mindset because mindset can be a huge blind spot.
Because if you have a belief in there that it's hard, I have to work hard.
You will forever be working hard, wondering why it's not getting easier.
So we worked on mindset.
We worked on safety.
But then we go in and I play in the quantum field.
I bridge the physical with the mystical or this realm with the metaphysical realm,
meaning that there's a quantum field of infinite possibilities and let's go play in that space.
And so with him, we actually went to a moment where he lost everything.
There was bankruptcy.
There was just a ton of shit going down.
And we went into the quantum.
And I said, okay, well, let's, if there are infinite possibilities, we know you're safe
because you're here right.
You're here with me.
And I regulated his nervous system or helped him regulate his nervous system.
And then we create a new possibility.
And that's actually one of my favorite places to play if people are open to it.
And one thing that, you know, when I'm sitting in a session with a CEO and we just spent two hours connecting with their guides and playing in Quantum, you know, I'll say, do you go back to your team and let them know what we did in our coaching session?
Because what you're doing is you're opening up your field because we're not just this 3D body experience.
you can open up your field to more,
anything is possible.
So I play there a lot.
Man, that was a great answer.
I'm glad you went there.
It's so funny you say that
because obviously I believe in that a lot.
And I had a mentor teach me a long time ago.
He said that your mind doesn't know the difference.
If you sit in something and visualize it
and really feel it and experience,
your mind doesn't know the difference of it being real or not,
and then you can make it real in your life.
Totally.
And a recent experience that I had,
where you just went,
you going through that exercise,
what you just made me think about is when I spoke at spring break.
And I was on the phone with my speaker coach,
because I talked to him before I speak every time.
And he made me go through, I always go through like a, you know, hey, we're going to see what's going to happen before it happens.
Yep.
But this time it was like, it was different because he's like, hey, you've got to, I've gotten you to a point mentally where you're a mastered NLP.
So he said, I'm going to take you somewhere different today that you've never experienced before.
And it was so freaking wild, right?
And it was like I got out of there.
And spring was like, hey, we got a tight schedule today.
I know you're going to want the time, but I can't give it to you.
She said this to me before, you know, I came on stage.
And earlier that morning.
And then when I walked up to her and she calls me on stage, she looked at me and she's like,
do you take as much time as you need?
She was like, you are locked.
She was like, you are locked in.
Like, say whatever you need to say.
She's like, I'm not, whatever the fuck it is, I'm not interrupting it.
Yeah.
But the exercise was, he made me see it.
Right.
So, like, but it wasn't even, oh, let me take you through this.
It was like, you're going to sit in it and you're going to feel it.
And so I'm saying this because I'm telling you guys I're listening to this,
what she just told you, that shit is real.
It's so real.
And it's not just the most important thing you've said there is,
You can't just visualize, when you can visualize.
Yeah.
But the activator is feeling it.
Mm-hmm.
And going into feeling frequency.
Yeah.
And I actually share a theory I have around feeling frequency.
I'd love to hear it.
So I have this download.
So I often, so we're, so I love social media, but we're often just parroting each other.
We find something good.
We share it, which is great.
Yeah.
That's how shit goes viral.
Right.
I love it.
And I, I've had.
a desire and intention
that I thought I want to receive my own
downloads. I want to receive new
information. If we are just, if we're
evolving as a species and we're just growing
and we're getting better and quicker and
more intelligent and more advanced,
there's shit out there that hasn't been tapped
into yet. So I
want to be open, an open channel
to receive new information
whenever possible. So I put it out there
in the field. And
I was sitting one day and I
was, I think something political came on
And I'm not political because I just think it's all just bullshit.
Just bullshit.
Yeah.
And I had the thought, it just popped in real quick.
And this is with downloads and intuition, it will happen fast.
So when something comes in fast, catch it.
And I had the thought, it's not about what's said.
It's about what's felt.
And if you can tune your being, your body, if you can get really good at feeling,
which is why it's really important to feel your emotions.
And at the heart of the work I do is helping people to feel their bodies and be embodied.
when you can start to feel the energy of anything you'll know.
You'll know truth.
You'll know if it is, you'll just know, you'll know the frequency of it because everything carries a frequency.
Yeah.
Guilt is a frequency.
Shame is a frequency.
You mentioned before we started a dark room, you walked into this to this space.
You could feel the darkness.
Yeah.
And so now it's no longer about what is said, and maybe this isn't a new idea for other people.
But at the time, I was like, holy shit, I don't ever have to worry again.
if I have to question if it's true or not, all I have to do is ground to my body,
tune in to that field and feel into the frequency of what is coming through and what's being
communicated.
Yeah, that's powerful shit.
Well, and to your point, the example I gave you of Spring Break, like, she, the frequency
is radiating off me and she's like, bro, just go.
Yeah.
Just go.
However long you need, but it's because he put me in that, right?
prior to going on stage.
It's just, it's remarkable.
And I just, I think what's cool about this is that I think there's a, there's a consciousness
waking, people are waking up to this stuff, right?
And, um, I just thought it was just bullshit, you know, I mean, honestly, you know.
And then, you know, it was my entire attitude around consciousness in general, completely
changed the first time I did breathwork, right?
It changed forever.
Do you know what I mean?
And so if you guys are listening to the.
That's one of the things I would suggest you learn about is doing breathwork because it was one of the wildest experiences.
But I think like the work that you do and the examples that you gave is that I think what I've learned through my personal development is, you know, some of the things that you already said is my behavior as an adult mirrors the shit I went through as a child, right?
100%
And I could not really get a hold of my shit
until I actually recognize that
what I was doing to my credit or to my detriment
necessarily wasn't healthy
because I never really went back
and faced the trauma
and especially my shit around money
and stuff coming from being poor.
And I just think it's so important
that there's people out there like you
that can help people get through this
and guide them.
through this because I think there's so many people that could be so much happier and have better
lives if they actually face the shit that that's keeping them in trauma or running on autopilot
or keeping them in fear because they just never they just never ever like dealt with it.
Yeah.
Right.
And so what do you say, you know, where do you go to in a lot of situations?
Like where do you see people have, I know we talked about some of the childhood trauma,
but in the autopilot and things like that.
where do you see, like, if you were to give a consensus, and everybody's different, but where most people have, like, where does the biggest problem stem from that you've seen kind of repeatedly?
Biggest problem of what?
Of, like, you know, someone's stuck or they don't, their life is not, they're fine, but it's not great.
Like, they're an autopilot. They're numb. They come to you, they have a problem. And they might not even know, right? Like, they know they got, they think they have a problem, but then you're like, this is the real fucking.
problem. Well, it's ironic because the biggest problem is showing up because they're asking for
something. So someone's saying, you know, I want to be happier. I want to have a better marriage or a
better relationship or better communication or I want more abundance or whatever it might be. And I believe
we have a benevolent universe, a benevolent God. I don't believe in a God in the way that maybe religion
speaks to God. But for me, 100 percent, there is source energy. Yeah. And a divine
being energy that we all come from. And so that energy, it's benevolent, meaning it's kind,
it loves us. And I don't believe in a punishing or the, well, I don't need to go there,
but in that benevolence, in that kindness, in that love, whatever someone is asking for it,
they're going to get. And this is you mentioned, mirror, and this is how life's a mirror.
because if I ask for, if I want to step into my purpose, well, I'm going to start to be shown
all the places in my life where either this is your purpose or these are the blocks to get there.
So wherever someone's at, I always say you're exactly where you need to be,
getting exactly what you need to get to get exactly what you want.
Does that answer that?
It does, yeah.
It does.
and man there's just so many different things we could talk about to this because it's it's such a big part right
it's such a big part of this can i can i say one more thing of that of course that something come in
the other thing that is really interesting is who you are in relationship with is very telling
because it's all only energy and because it's only energy we are it's like we're like tuning forks
And what we attract or what's in our field is what is in resonance with our being.
And so if I have a bunch of people in my world who are angry, okay, what in me?
What's the resonance that's calling in and attracting that?
And so if you look at the people in your life, those people, everyone's just a mirror.
So when I have the great people, I'm like, oh, cool, that's just a mirror.
And if I have shitty people, I'm like, shit, life's a mirror.
what's that in me?
And if we start to look at emotional intelligence
because I think as we advance
and we become more intelligent
and more awake species,
we have emotional intelligence as a part of that.
And so I think low EQ is something happens
and someone says, you know,
that person's just such an asshole.
As you start to wake up, interesting,
why did I attract that?
Or what's that?
What in me is showing that?
And then as you start to get really master level, what in me is ready to heal, to move past, to evolve so that I can shift.
So I don't even have to go to that frequency.
Not that anger is bad or that there are negative emotions because I think all emotions are just intelligence.
But getting stuck in a place where I think something's wrong because truly I don't think anything's wrong.
I think everything's an opportunity for us, everything, even if it's perceived as negative.
It's showing us something in us that's ready to go.
So I kind of went on a tangent, but I just get really excited about this.
No, no, no, that was great.
I'm glad you stepped in there.
For really driven people that come to you, what do you see is their biggest block?
From really driven people.
So most of the people that I work with are driven, what's their biggest block?
Well, we're always our biggest block.
It's me.
No doubt.
No problem.
You're your block.
So that's what I would say is.
You're the block.
Okay, so let me answer that question in a different way.
I used to, so I love my work.
It was literally a divine calling to do what I do.
And I set the goal to be really, I wanted to be the best at what I do.
And in that, I'm going to have to learn a lot to be the best.
Right.
And so over the years, it was literally like, okay, I'll take anything.
Obviously, I wouldn't know pretty quickly if something was out of my scope.
But I would take anything and everything so that I could learn.
And now I only take people who are ready.
That's it.
And I have a wait list and I love it and I'm as full as I want to be.
And my work is super rewarding and super fun because I get to work people who are ready.
And that is key because a lot of people, what I'll notice is they will argue for their limitations.
They'll tell you, but they're, but and I'm like, bullshit, if you're ready, if you really want the thing,
it's right here. We can figure it out pretty quickly what's the part of you that's in resistance to it. And I would say to layer onto what's their biggest block, identity is a huge one because identity is stuck in the default mode network in the brain. And so it's the, our default mode network holds the narrative that we have for our life, our identity that we have for our life. So for a long time, I identified as a single mom, but I'm a single mom. And that carried with it this like,
a little bit of a victim energy.
So now I'm like, I don't need to say that ever again.
Right.
Because that identity, if I want to get to this place where I can, you know, get the $5 million home and I can, whatever I want, she's not a single mom.
Right.
She's a fucking badass that knows what she's doing.
So you have to close the gap from the identity of what was to what is.
And the visualization you talked about and there's a lot, many things you can do to get there.
but my experience is you have to go deep into the subconscious,
find the belief in the identity,
where am I still identifying as the energy of the thing
that I'm trying to heal or release or move on from?
So I don't want to miss this because I think that was,
if you're listening to this, I think that was important.
It was really important.
You said, you know, my identity was a single mom
that had some victim energy to the badass
because words are important
and how you view yourself is important,
how you talk to yourself is important,
Right. And so I think that, I think you just gave the best example of an identity shift that somebody could have is you went from calling myself a single mom to know I'm this badass. And I just, I wanted to reiterate that because if you're listening to this, I don't want anybody to miss that because that is, that is so powerful from an identity shift. And again, like, as simple as that is, that is an extremely powerful. That's like changes how someone completely thinks about.
life. And most people have no idea how they're identifying because it's in the subconscious.
Yeah. So one thing that anybody can do that's listening to this is just ask, whether you call it
prayer or you call it meditation or you talk to yourself or you call on your angels or whatever
it might be, but just ask, show me the, show me the beliefs I have that are blocking me.
Yeah. Show me the parts of myself or the parts of my identity that are keeping me stuck in this,
this space or this frequency because I really want to go here. This is the goal. This is the,
this is, you know, I'm a big, huge believer in designing, writing it out. I have a journal
actively writing what I want. And the quicker you close the gap, the quicker you get the
things that you want. And so it's not just this one and done. I want this thing. You keep going
with it because you realize you can manifest super quick. But ask to be shown. And what else can
Well, ask, I think that that's like universal law when you start to play with spirit,
meaning whether it's source or God or the divine or angels or guides,
you have to ask for help.
So I ask for help all the time.
All just amazing.
I knew it would be.
And I'm glad I got you to go deep on some of those stuff.
I always ask everybody the same question, but I'm not going to ask you this question
because I actually want to hear a different answer just because, and my audience needs
to hear a different answer.
Okay.
You know, this show is wake up to wealth, but I think people need to wake up to their shit that's internal.
That's fucked up, right?
And so many people just don't.
And, you know, if you would, give them advice to wake up to fixing the stuff internal.
And then just because you've seen this, what does that transformation do to somebody's life when they wake up to fixing it?
Well, I'll go back to that earlier answer around they have to be ready.
They haven't wanted.
You can't, one of my favorite quotes is nobody can do it for you and you can't do it alone.
We need each other.
Yeah.
We need to help each other.
We need to be here for each other.
Our good friend's ring, she says all the time, you know, you need one other person to believe in you besides you.
So I think starting with wanting it and then asking for help, but there has to be some driver in there that gets them to move.
and then the transformation, I mean, holy shit, like it's huge.
Like that's the consistency with, you know, most of the people I work with over the years.
They come in, I almost want them to take a picture of themselves on day one
and then take a picture of themselves a year later, six months.
It's like a personal trainer.
Totally.
And they're lighter because there's more life force.
There's more vitality.
There's more aliveness.
There's more energy.
I do work with something called energetic interference where we actually go into the field
and whether it's entity or spirit or energetic blockages.
But people have shit.
You can see it.
You can see it in the jaw.
You can see it in the body.
You can see it in how the body holds itself.
You can see it in energy under the eyes.
Yeah.
And so the transformation is you're coming into more wholeness and you feel more youthful.
It's like a glow up.
Most people have a big glow up.
So if you want to, anything is possible.
There are no problems.
There are only opportunities.
And truly, I believe you can have anything you want.
How can people that are listening to this find you?
Right now I just have my Instagram handles, Ajna Sky, getting ready to launch some programs
and become a little bit more visible, so keep an eye out there.
Well, thank you so much.
I'm super glad we were able to connect and I was able to get this information to our audience
because so many people need it.
I know you've helped so many people.
Just the short time we've been friends, just things I've picked up of listening.
to you and when we had a coaching call, you've helped me. So I greatly appreciate you being here.
