Starting point is 00:00:00 This is Wake Up To Wealth, a podcast dedicated to helping you change the way you think about wealth. And now, here's your host, Brandon Brittingham. Eric Harper Jr. in the studio with us today. Senior, senior. Hold on. My kid. You know what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:00:23 I was supposed to be a junior, but I had to go and create one. Got it. Well, I am blessed to have you in here, man. And man, your social media is on fire. And I didn't, unfortunately, I didn't get to hear you speak last time at MDM because of the fucking shit I was dealing with
Starting point is 00:00:39 with kidney stones and shit. But I heard you speak today, man. You blew it off the fucking roof, man. Thank you for being here today. I appreciate it, man. You blew it off the fucking roof, man. Thank you for being here today. I appreciate it, man. You know, just being able to give back into people who want to grow, man. You want to show up for people who are trying to show up for their family. So, you know, whatever I can give, you know, I try to give it. And so someone doesn't know who you are. Who are you? You know, I've always had a struggle with that. I'm just me, you know, and I know it sucks.
Starting point is 00:01:13 I'm father. I got married at 19. I've been married 20 years. Two amazing kids. You know, everything is about faith. I served in the Air Force, overseas, and I realized that although that did help me fight for people. I wasn't fighting hard enough. Yeah. And I realized that, uh, people needed a lot more help than just security and defense. They needed a way and a means to actually improve their life. And so I started taking that route.
Starting point is 00:01:36 So, you know, part owner and, Oh Lord, over 60 something businesses. But, uh, before I'm a businessman,
Starting point is 00:01:42 I'm just here for the people. And very humble. I know that word kind of sucks, but while everybody wants the attention, I try to shy away from it. Yeah. You know, because I'd rather build people and sit back a little bit than to be the one in the forefront. Well, and I get it. But after you speaking today, the more people need to hear your message. I'm just coming into that.
Starting point is 00:02:08 You know, Ryan was like, bro, like. No, I mean, literally, I had an entire presentation in my head that I was going to do today. I changed it on the fly after you spoke. Oh, wow. What were you going to talk about? Because you killed it well i was it was the same premise but the you know be the person that makes someone believe in god more or less bro that was a pattern interrupt for me like i was like i'm gonna go i was gonna do some more tactical business thing and i said no i'm just gonna go i'm gonna go super deep on leadership because i was like
Starting point is 00:02:43 fuck when you said that, that like clicked immediately. I was like, holy shit, man, that that's powerful shit. Like I'll use that on stage and I'll always I'll pay homage to who I got it from. But I will repeat that one. No, I appreciate it. And, you know, it's just a bunch of life lessons, too. You know, because I realize every time I was building for me, God just gave me enough to build for me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:04 You know, and start learning about nonprofits. And I'm like, man, the way that that works, if I implement this and I know, because if you got people stealing your inbox that they're struggling and you don't have a resource for them, it just means you're not building fast enough. So I just looked at it as, okay, God didn't make me this smart. He didn't give me this grind. He didn't do all of this just for me. It couldn't be just for me because it's way too much. I got an IQ of 143. Was it for me?
Starting point is 00:03:31 It's to build for a bunch of people. And so, you know, the whole thing is like, how can I get people what they need at a faster rate? And that's why more people need to hear a message. And that, I mean, because it's a brass, you know, you got my film guys in here. We travel all over. Right. I mean, that shit was powerful today. More people need to hear it. Let me ask you another question. Like where the hell do you pull this shit out on that you put on Facebook? Cause literally like every day,
Starting point is 00:04:00 one of the first things I do when I look on Facebook is I go read your shit. Oh wow. I like go cover from you. Well, I mean, cause it's, I, bro, it's always so impactful. It's like, and it's tactical and it's real life and like I bro. And, but it's like, you know, some people on Facebook, you're like, Oh man, that was a witty quote or it's this or that. It's like once or twice, your shit is every like day in, day out. Like your copywriting and your content is like, it's this or that. It's like once or twice. Your shit is every, like day in, day out. Like your copywriting
Starting point is 00:04:25 and your content is, like it's fucking stupid. Like where do you pull that shit from? I mean, you're pulling it from internal, but like how do you fucking externalize that all the time? Most people are just posted on Facebook. Yeah. Right?
Starting point is 00:04:38 I made a commitment to really transform the people. So that's like in anything, you can't go and be an NBA player if you just half-assing, right? You got to really practice and put a lot into it. So I just put a lot of thought through how would my post transform somebody's whole mindset? And you know, it can't just be half-assing if that's my goal. So, you know, I think through the process and then I bring a life experience in and then how would I transform? And then it takes me back
Starting point is 00:05:04 to who am i trying to transform okay the person that i'm trying to transform what mindset was i in when i needed to hear this message and how did i need to hear it and then i write it that way if you like repeat that if you're listening to this shit like play that back because if you apply that to any type of sales process or sales funnel, that's like a fucking million dollars worth of game right there. Like no doubt. Cause we talking people high level who, if we're trying to get them a transformation, they're not what we are. Right. You know, and people forget, you know, they, they think that
Starting point is 00:05:38 it's just a cliche saying, don't forget where you come from. It's millions of dollars in that. You get what I'm saying? Cause if you don't, if you forget where you come from, it's millions of dollars in that. You get what I'm saying? Because if you don't, if you forget where you come from, you're not going to forget the mindset you were in when you were there. And that's the whole thing is like, I really, you know, to be honest, I don't even be talking to the people on Facebook. I talk to my old self. Damn, bro. And those are all posted.
Starting point is 00:05:59 If I can talk to my old self, I would say. That's powerful. And it's a second chance to be able to do that. You need to say that shit on stage. Will you remember, you remember that? I'll try to remember that be able to do that. You need to say that shit on stage. Will you remember that one? I'll try to remember that for next time. Bro, you need to say that shit on stage. Yeah, but that's all it is. It's like, man, what would I tell myself
Starting point is 00:06:13 if, you know, it's easy after I done made millions and millions, right? To say, oh, blah, blah, blah. But it's like, dang, I needed to hear that then it would have sped up. And so whoever grabs it, grabs it, right? That's how I know. Because I can transform anybody who's following my path.
Starting point is 00:06:29 I can't transform them if they're not on my path, though. So I can just keep talking to my old self. And whoever picks that up, that's who I know God's sending to listen to me. Yeah. Another thing you did today that, oh, shit, you unpacked so many things. You know, the whole ebook and turning that into a funnel, we're going to have a whole separate conversation one day about that. Cause bro, my mind was blown on that. But another thing that you, you talked about today,
Starting point is 00:06:55 which I've never seen anyone articulated as a complex idea, as simple as you did, but essentially how you've gotten equity in companies. If you don't mind, I'd love for you to talk about that for a few minutes. It's just two things, man. And I can give you the sauce. I have a funding company that I can care less about funding. And I really have a coaching program that I really care less about coaching. So coming from where I came from, you had to be fluid. So I have to be who I have to be for the person I'm transforming, right? So if I know that this company is about the struggle,
Starting point is 00:07:31 I post myself as a coach. And that's why a lot of people coach, coach, because now if you can respect me as a coach, you're going to come to me with your problem. No doubt. So I got into the M&A space, right? Mergers and acquisition space where I wanted to start buying businesses back in the day.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Right. But I realized everybody I went to send an LOI to talk about their business, they inflated their numbers. They made it seem like it was way bigger than what it was. And by the time you bring a forensic accountant in, you realize you've spent so much time and money. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Right. So now I'm like, how can I do this better? So if I do, if I do the coaching route, when they come to me and they need a coach, that means that they feel like they're failing somewhere. That's where I need to hit. And they're going to be vulnerable with you and tell you the real shit. Tell you everything. Yeah. And if you pose as a funding company and they trying to get funding, now you also, they also tell you where they need the money at. They need it for personnel. That means they got personnel issues and they probably got hot overhead. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:28 If they need it for marketing, that means that they either spending too much money on marketing and they don't know anything about marketing. Right. So what I did is we went to the Philippines and built a huge, we call it a call center, but a development center where we got a bunch of people. So I'm like, well, if we're getting them four or five bucks an hour and they're trained and they can do all of this. Now, when a company comes in and they need me to coach them, I can evaluate two things. If they're a good leader and just don't have a system, I will get equity.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Right. Because now I can trust that they'll lead and make them. But if they suck at leadership and their system sucks, it's because of their leadership. I'm going to buy them out. And so now what I realized, it was easier to do that, having more information from either the lending side or the coaching side. And now when it comes to I got a solution for you as a coach, but I'm going to charge an astronomical price because I know that you're not going to pay that. But you'll give me equity because most people, they'll hire coach, but then still want the coach to do the work for them. So if I got to use my resources, I need equity. I'm sure you figured this out, but like, do you know how genius that is? Like, that's like, that's extraordinary that you've figured that out and, and done it and done it successfully multiple times. And what the money looks different too. Of course, you know, because like,
Starting point is 00:09:44 I remember where I used to have to be the most popular person too. Of course. You know, because like, I remember when I used to have to be the most popular person in the world to make a million, have a million dollar a month. Right. You get what I'm saying? Of course. And now I'm looking at like million dollar weeks. Right. But I don't have to be the most popular person on social media. I can look at the deposits
Starting point is 00:10:00 coming in every month from other companies. Right. And you're not necessarily doing all the work, managing all the employees, dealing with all the problems, dealing with all the headaches, right? Yep, because you got to have a good leader who's going to be able to do that. And it even helped me create a whole nother business
Starting point is 00:10:14 called the CEO Incubator. Yeah. Right now, the people who I'm developing and the CEOs, while we're in the transition of buying you out and getting you out of there, I can put an interim CEO in place to make sure we infuse the coach, you know?
Starting point is 00:10:26 So it's so many things, so many like arms that you can build just from the M and a space from the coaching side. Yeah. Cause when I realized it, when I, every business that I either tapped into the equity side of bought from the coaching perspective,
Starting point is 00:10:41 all of them did. All right. But the ones that I just went and purchased from like a best buy sale or all of the rookie sites that, you know, with the broker people out there, they fail. Yeah. Because, you know, they'll tell you the numbers. You see the P&L statements. It tells you everything but the culture of the company. Right. And the culture is something that you don't tap into after you buy it. Correct. So coaching, right, is the only way to find the culture of the business before I buy it. Right. And you know, that's going to be the biggest thing because you don't even know what contingencies to put in place until you know the
Starting point is 00:11:13 coach. Yeah. So it, you know, it's just crazy. That's what I had to figure out because I got tired of either coaching people who went out and made a couple of million dollars and they'll go high grant card on. Right. You know what I'm saying? And it's like, bro, I got you there. But then now you're paying so much for a coach for the name. And then. And nothing against Grant or any big names, but shit, the amount of shit that you've given on this podcast and you've given on this stage is more than most of those motherfuckers that
Starting point is 00:11:40 I know that, that got the names that charge stupid money to do it. You know, don't give them the same tactical things that you just gave today marketers right you know what i'm saying yeah 100 bears you know i saw a dancing bear it's like when it's tax season and you go and the bear is out there dancing with the sign you know saying come here come here but when the bear stopped dancing you don't even see it exist yeah and a lot of those are marketers it's like you know the shiny object syndrome but nobody really transforms are marketers. It's like, you know, the shiny objects syndrome, but nobody really transforms. You just get in the room.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Yeah. You know. That is powerful. So evaluating, because I know you're going to have this answer just talking to you. So you evaluate a bunch of businesses, right? And you're going to say, obviously, you have whatever metric in your head is,
Starting point is 00:12:23 I'm going to say yes or say no. I say no to 99 of 100. Right. So what I want to know is the ones you say yes to, why? Well, the feeling is one. Yeah. Trust in my intuition and gut. Right. So that's the first. If the person feels like a slime ball, I'm not
Starting point is 00:12:39 dealing with it. So you're betting on the leader, the current leader. The leader is everything. Without the right leader in place, everything is dead. Right.'re betting on the leader, the current leader. The leader is everything. Without the right leader in place, everything is dead. Right. And so I don't, you can have the best marketing plan, the biggest budget, right, in the world. Look at the SBA, what's his name?
Starting point is 00:12:55 Sam something, the, you know, he generated billions, but it was a scam. It was a poor leader. Oh, the FTX guy, yeah, they just found him guilty on everything. And so it don't matter how much money you're making, this grandiose idea can be amazing. But if you got a scammer as a leader or a poor leader,
Starting point is 00:13:16 everything is going to fall. Yeah. And, you know, and people just think leadership is being in charge. Right. You know what I'm saying? Let's talk for an hour about that today. That's it. Yeah. And, you know, it's way more than that. Like a person got to look at you and want to follow charge. Right. You know what I mean? And so- Let's talk for an hour about that today. That's it.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Yeah. And you know, it's way more than that. Like a person got to look at you and want to follow you. Right. Not nothing, nothing you're going to be able to say.
Starting point is 00:13:32 And you said that. 100%. There's nothing that I can say that would make somebody say, hmm, what he said makes me want to lead him. No, you're going to watch me for a while.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Right. And the thing is, is we don't do enough of that though. The ones who fail, think about, everybody's talking about what they got scammed out of and all of that now, right? That's because the money didn't slow down. Damn right. But everybody who they claim scammed them, they didn't spend enough time vetting. Right. That means that that person that you invested in all your money and to getting you from somewhere, you didn't even see if there was a real leader or
Starting point is 00:14:02 not based on what they did. You follow what they look at they following the rooms they was in what they bought and you was like that's a leader no that's a marketer yeah and i'll tell you and i hate to say this is that there's a lot of influencers and people who sell shit on the internet and they were my heroes before i got in the room with them and i got behind them and a lot of it was bullshit fluff yeah it sounded great sounded great they were better lip service was amazing and you know and also you got to be ready for a real leader see the real leader don't sound sexy yeah you get what I'm saying so like because it's not sexy it's at all yeah and well the real leader, I mean, the fake leader going to talk about how they made a million dollars in the pandemic and they created a program to show you not like, bro, how does that sound? Yeah. So, OK, you made a million dollars in the pandemic. You can just automatically. I'm not even you.
Starting point is 00:14:57 First of all, I you know, I haven't even did a disc assessment yet. We got totally different personalities, right? We don't even know our habits. Your habits might be way different than mine. And then you're telling me, oh, set this up, set that up. It's like, no, it don't work like that. So if you're listening to this, one of the things that, man, you just got to understand the lid of your organization is your leadership. Here's a guy who buys businesses, you know, had made businesses, make shit tons of money. He's made shit tons of money. And what, and what did he say? You know, what's his number two step after his own intuition is, you know, who's the leader and what's the leader like?
Starting point is 00:15:35 It has to be, think about this though. If it doesn't have a leader, you're going to eventually have to lead it. No doubt. I'm not trying to buy another job. You don't want another job. I'm not going to do that. So if I'm going to buy something, I need that commitment from that leader. Yeah. You get what I'm saying? Yeah. And like one of the things that Jay-Z said,
Starting point is 00:15:55 I would rather have 10% of a watermelon than 100% of a grape, right? No doubt. And so what a lot of people don't realize is it's the equity that they don't want to give up was causing the wrong people or the right people not to be able to come in. I think which album was it? He said it was one of the recent ones. One percent of a billion is more than we've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Right. Yeah. And that's real, though. Yeah. And most people, they out there in la la land. But if you really just break it down, it's all about what can I bring to the table? Sure. I've never met anybody and asked them for something.
Starting point is 00:16:31 Right. I've always asked, no matter who, you can ask a thousand people. By the way, downstairs, after I spoke today, he literally asked me, what can I do for you? So that's real shit. No, for real. What do you need? Yeah. Because the thing is,
Starting point is 00:16:46 is, and I came from a culture or I came and was raised in an environment where popping off, you had to stay humble. We get that mix. But so you have to be careful on what you say, but I'm going to say it. I'm rich.
Starting point is 00:17:03 I mean, and you, i shouldn't feel embarrassed by saying that no you should be proud of it and you know it's like it's a line between being humble and not pushing people away based on where i came out of right but it's like i'm already rich why can't i go help everybody right because i don't need money from anybody but my thing is is i will never have a money problem if I can help you get richer. Sure. Even if I never asked you for a dime, if I help you make an extra $5 million doing something,
Starting point is 00:17:32 there wouldn't be anything. Anytime I call you, I'm like, hey, Brian, let's grab a drink. Let me get some time because I need to ask you something. Sure. You wouldn't be reluctant to give me that. Absolutely not. I mean, one of the things you said on stage today, bro, I was paying attention. You said, if I want to be a billionaire, I got to create a bunch of multimillionaires.
Starting point is 00:17:48 Got to. And another thing that I learned, too, is most millionaires teach the game. Yeah. Most billionaires create the platform so people can perform the game. Bro. And I was like, oh, I got that from my coach. Damn. That's powerful.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Yeah. And when you look at Zuckerberg, he created a platform. How many multimillionaires been created off the platform? Facebook, Amazon. How many multimillionaires have been created off the platform? Amazon. Bezos don't have to get up here and be a logistics guy. You get what I'm saying? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:20 And that changed the way I looked at everything. And that's why I always say never try to eat from an environment that you didn't plant a seed in. Which was phenomenal when you said that today too. Because when you plant it, and especially if you look at the people of seeds, take the people, plant them somewhere. Yeah. Right. And then water them. That's that every day I'm pouring into you. Every day I'm pouring into you. Which I believe in that. Yeah. Wholeheartedly. and then they grow yeah so instead of fruit they got more money they got more influence they got this that they can lend to you the leverage yeah but you created it you grew it yeah and so a lot of people don't want to grow
Starting point is 00:18:55 people if the money if you know if the money isn't there first so i tell people two things when i launch something i can do it two ways i have a seed price and a fruit price. The seed price is because people don't see where it's going to take them yet. They only believe in the vision of what it's going to do. So the seed price, I do it for a little lower to get people where they need to be. But then after they produce the fruit, after you see the testimony and you know it worked, you can no longer get the seed price. Now it's the fruit price because you seeded it works. It's proven, right? And I do the same thing with relationships.
Starting point is 00:19:28 I got seed relationships and I got fruit relationships. If I build with you at the seed level because you believe in me, I'm going to build with you forever. But if you come in just because you see the fruit, I'm going to actually,
Starting point is 00:19:39 you might have to pay. You get what I'm saying? So it's a different way that I'm going to deal with you at that point. Man, that's fucking powerful. I mean that that is some powerful shit like this is this is why you've got to get on more stages because more more people need to hear this shit do you know what I mean and it's not about it's it's you're obviously a spiritual man the the gifts that you have fucking more people need to hear this shit. But you know why?
Starting point is 00:20:05 It's not that I don't want to do it, right? So let's have a real conversation. Have you ever had a white guy come to you and say, this is why I don't spend money with you, white people? Have I? Yeah. Every race. No, no, I'm just saying, like, have you had a white guy who get pissed at you and say see that's what I don't buy from white people have you had a white guy say that
Starting point is 00:20:28 probably not no it's more been like you know you're flashy you're this well see that's because personality yeah that's something you can control right see I can't control my color right right but what I'm what I have to really be conscious of right
Starting point is 00:20:43 is when it comes to the people that I'm really trying to help what I have to really be conscious of, right, is when it comes to the people that I'm really trying to help, it's a certain way I have to do it. I can't do it the way you do it, right? I have to do it in a way to where I'm still sparing feeling.
Starting point is 00:20:59 Understood. You know what I'm saying? I do, yeah. Remember the story I told when I was about to blow my brains out? See, I was about to blow my brains out. Yeah. See, I was franchising a credit repair company. Yeah. Same credit repair company. At that point, I was doing like four million a year. Right. And I had the university to create. I was the founder of the credit repair university. Yeah. Literally certified to have these people out here now. Right. And this is 2014, 2015. So now when you fast forward to what happened, though, I franchised this credit repair company because what I realized,
Starting point is 00:21:27 and I didn't know about the franchising laws that I had to learn. Right. So I was just trying to help people. So with the university people, they got it, they learned it, but they kept having to start over. They didn't have a brand. And so they wasn't going to get the success that I had because I took time to build my brand. So I said, well, let me just make my brand available to y'all. Yeah. And I franchised.
Starting point is 00:21:48 But what I failed to realize is the competitors don't like my brand popping up all over the world, all over the country in their backyards. No, hell no. So now it's kind of like, you got to get off my block. We're going to call the feds and we don't have false complaints. And they don't just file false complaints. They get other haters, other business owners. Most people aren't really haters. If you look at most people who hate their competitors, who can't leverage what you have, right?
Starting point is 00:22:15 Well, not only that, or they see something in you that they will never be. Right. And so now if I can't join that, I can't be that, I got to stop that. Right. Or I got to bring you back down. And I'm going to tell you something on that. But anyway, they went to the CFPB, the attorney generals in all of these states, and then they filed spam complaints. But it was real people filing, right?
Starting point is 00:22:35 And some anonymous. And now all of a sudden my life goes. And so, like I said, I put a big seed in the ground. I go to church and I just, you know, because I got the franchise going. And I said, God, five-figure seed I threw in the ground on an offering. And I said, hey, God, please make me a better leader. I left church, got a call from my brother. Mom passed.
Starting point is 00:22:58 I was like, the same day? So I'm like, hold on, God, get my money back. You know, I was like, I want to renege. Like, let me, you know, so. Fucking uppercutted twice. Yeah, I was like, hold on, guy, get my money back. You know, I don't, you know, I was like, I want to renege. Like, you know, so. Fucking uppercut it twice. Yeah. I was like, hold on. I just blew a bag.
Starting point is 00:23:11 But anyway, so. And then I go online and I see a 35 minute slander video. I'm like, what? And they did so well. I was like, it was like, yeah, it was like 10 of us got together and we're going to put a stop to this guy. And so I was like, dang, 10 people wasted about eight to 10 hours of their life of peace to destroy me. And they couldn't even get together and build something. It's weird. Right. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:23:33 Which is why they are where they are. Right. Yeah. But so what happened is all hell was breaking loose in my life. At least I thought. And then they filed a bar complaint against my attorney when she was never the attorney. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:44 And we're talking about 20 some years practice. She represents the she was never the attorney. Right. Yeah. And we're talking, she 20 some years practice. She represents the who's of the who. Right. Right. And so anyway, now it's a hit to her because she's like, I got to answer this BS bar complaint. What they were trying to do is create the conflict of interest because if she was dealing with representation, she can represent me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:59 And she knew everything. Right. So now, you know, pray, pray, pray. But what I realized is when all of the things was coming out, the haters knew where to find me to try to destroy me. Yeah. And so it gave me this PTSD of not being the one out. And I'm still trying to show my, I get it. You know, when people say, Hey, well, you need to show the world. And it's like, well, that was cool when I was trying to make money. Now that I'm rich, I'm not need to show the world. And it's like, well, that was cool when I was trying to make money.
Starting point is 00:24:25 Now that I'm rich, I'm not trying to be the most popular person to get to work. Because even though I might inspire some people, it still will be pretty much, it'll put me in a bad place of where I was before. Understood. And so, you know, it got me to the point where I was literally in a closet. If I wouldn't have got too drunk to kill myself, I would have been dead right now. Well, which is, I hate to hear that, but you know, the thing is you're a chosen one and you were put through that for a reason. Right. But see, now you, now I know now that I was literally a better leader because God literally had to put me through that humility to put me back so that I really understand a person face to face.
Starting point is 00:25:06 Instead of just being a rich guy telling somebody I can bring them along. Yeah, I understood. I understood. Well, this time we just built an army around you. That's it. Yeah. Well, I did. And so now that's why I tell people, build community.
Starting point is 00:25:18 Yeah. Because when you build community. And you have. I mean, because I pay attention to your stuff. If they come now, the last person who tried to put a slander video out on me, somebody posted it in their group and their YouTube page
Starting point is 00:25:31 that had, I think they had like 180,000 subscribers. They put a slander video out and they lost their page in four hours. The page that they worked so hard to build, God let them build it because they was gifting people. And they went off assignment to try to damage another person who has got on
Starting point is 00:25:50 assignment. And the free half came in and literally just reported the page back to back. So they getting 10, 20,000 complaints on a page within an hour on different IPs page can't stay up. And then now they mad mad that they paid, but they don't have a voice to be able to try to slander me now.
Starting point is 00:26:07 So we had to build an army, but it wasn't just an army, a messy army. It was an army on the same assignment. If anyone spends any time and listens to you and has anything negative to say, there's something fucking wrong with them.
Starting point is 00:26:21 Well, I mean, negativity is perception too. Of course, 100%. So, I mean, negativity is perception too. Of course. 100%. So what I learned, this is what I learned. Because I came, you know, both my parents was on drugs. I remember like having to jump over the hole in the floor in the trailer to get on the toilet. And hope that the toilet don't fall to the left and I fall to the floor.
Starting point is 00:26:41 We had a cat to go on there to get the mice. Like, we had a pet cat for the purpose of, like, chasing the mice that come in the house. Like,
Starting point is 00:26:50 that was my life, right? And so, knowing that, well, like when I keep saying I'm speaking to that person, but knowing that
Starting point is 00:26:57 one of the biggest things that I like to focus on, my ADHD just caught me. So, where were we going with that? Because I went down, I went down my ADHD. You were talking about,
Starting point is 00:27:07 you said negativity is perception. Yeah, that's okay. Thank you for the spot. So what I realized though, right, is when I came up out of that, I used to think rich people was evil. I used to, because of where I came from.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Of course. So what I realized, when you grow apart from somebody, let's say we knew each other all the way from third grade to 10 grade. Right. We know everything about each other. We do things together. And then now I disappear off the grid and then I go get rich. Yeah. And you're doing what you do. I'm getting rich. I'm changing lives, inspiring people around the world. You see me on this, on that. You don't remember me of that, though.
Starting point is 00:27:44 So you're going to start saying, man, I remember such and such. It's not really negative. It's just that when people no longer have access to you, they automatically going to put you back in the position where they're familiar with you at. So now it's not that they hating. They just can't accept where you came from because they had no parts in it. So they want to put you back down where they're familiar with you at. So you got two options. Stay where you at and don't address it or stoop back down to the level that makes them
Starting point is 00:28:09 comfortable. So they got two things. They can either grind hard to get where you at to get back familiar or they can try to pull you down to get back familiar with you. And a lot of people choose to pull down an option because it takes their accountability off of them and they don't have to do anything but throw something out there and let you do all the work to come back down you're hearing this
Starting point is 00:28:28 shit no it's just no i mean that's fucking and you need to say that shit on stage too because when they come like you got to realize think about what hate is hate is just a reflection of getting back familiar with the person like my family don't support. They this, they that. They don't know the new you. The old you, like, man, it's crazy. It's deeper. The new you is not even related to them anymore. The old you died out. You just ain't buried them yet. And that's
Starting point is 00:28:56 so powerful. Man, I could talk to you for hours. Like, seriously. Boy, you got to get to the airport. Oh, yeah, yeah. And I know, and I appreciate it because I, we, we went longer than we usually do. Cause I was just letting you go.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Cause you were, you were spitting, but I like, and, and I thank you so much. Thank you so much. And one thing I will say, we can have an offline conversation is whatever I can do for you.
Starting point is 00:29:20 I will do it. Cause you're doing it already. Cause, cause the amount of game I got from you today in this room and downstairs was shit, bro. It'll make me eight figures.
Starting point is 00:29:34 No question. Seriously. But what I want to end with is I ask everybody this every time. We call the show Wake Up to Wealth. The reason why we do it is I grew up poor. every time is we call the show wake up to wealth. And the reason why we do it is I grew up poor and, um, you know, I was taught about money wrong. And thankfully I was the one
Starting point is 00:29:53 in my family, the generational one that broke the financial curse and got us out of that shit. And what I learned was, you know, the matrix, whatever you call it. And I think part of the reason why they were trying to take you down is because you're educating people on how to get out of the matrix. And what I believe is when you learn about money and wealth, obviously starts in the mind and everything else. But when you learn to control wealth and you learn to wake up to wealth, your life changes. And what I always ask everybody, it can be whatever.
Starting point is 00:30:27 It's your version of it. What is waking up to wealth to you? Knowing that I have genuine people now in my corner that I can actually talk to. Right. So one of the things you said, and I used it. I'm definitely going to use it and credit it to you. Everybody goes back to their childhood space. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:48 When I bought my Rolls-Royce and my Lambo, it was because I wanted that as a kid. Damn right. That was it. I wanted it as a kid. And the feeling you got when you got it. Oh, man. I felt like that kid. No doubt.
Starting point is 00:31:00 And so we want to go back and redo the access we didn't have. So now I got the money. I got the view because I own homes. Like I didn't did all of that. What I've been locked out of. And it all comes down to like, I only want to be around genuine people with good hearts. Yeah. They're harder to find.
Starting point is 00:31:18 I can go out and create something and make freaking $200,000 from a post and an email. Right. That don't excite me. Yeah. Build, finding a genuine person though, that, that, that's without a gender, that, that's really on a pad to change the world. That's gold. That's wealth.
Starting point is 00:31:34 Yeah. And building with them and playing my part of that. Cause I don't need the credit. Right. I just need to know that I played a part in the change in the world. That's all that matter. And if I can find people to do that with, that's wealth to me. That's powerful. We'll end on that. That's all that matter. And if I can find people to do that with, that's wealth to me. That's powerful.
Starting point is 00:31:47 We'll end on that. That's it. Man, I appreciate you being here today. Hey, because people need to follow you and they need to buy into the shit that you're doing. Where can they find you? Yeah, so at Derek Harper Sr. D-E-R-R-I-C-K H-A-R-P-E-R-S-R on Instagram and Derek
Starting point is 00:32:03 A. Harper Sr. on Facebook. Those are the two. I'm-S-R on Instagram and Derek A. Harper Sr. on Facebook. Those are the two. I'm on Facebook way more than Instagram. Yeah. And they can tap in. They can shoot me a text. They can text APEX to 404-999-3828. 404-999-3828.
Starting point is 00:32:25 Just 3828. 404-999-3828. Just 3828. So text Apex there and I'm going to send them a grid of what we talked about downstairs. Which was fucking insane. And if you're listening to this, get that shit because you need it.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Man, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for spending your time with me today. No, I appreciate you for having me, man.
