Well hello travelers! Welcome back to Walk About the World, your weekly audio stroll through the
parks and resorts of Walt Disney World, and hey, even an occasional stroll through Disneyland.
My name's Josh, and I'm usually behind the scenes, you know, making art, posting to socials, doing other producerly duties.
But today, today I'm behind the mic.
Look out.
As we walk about on a beautiful, breezy, a little bit chilly January.
I was going to say July. It's not July. It is definitely January.
January afternoon.
And this past weekend, this current weekend, began my favorite festival.
I know Jeremy's favorite festival is the Flower and Garden Festival.
My favorite festival is the Festival of the Arts.
And of course that opened this weekend and the Festival of the Arts. And of course that opened this weekend.
And the Festival of the Arts brought with it some excitement.
And craziness.
That I like to refer to as Figment Gate.
I'm sure you've been following along.
Hours and hours of waiting to get their hands on. In some cases multiple figment popcorn buckets.
Cute little buggers.
But today it's not about the buckets.
Today's not about the buckets.
It is about a walkabout.
We're going to walk about, take a stroll
around the front side of World Showcase.
We're going to take a right.
We're going to go over,
hopefully end up over in France.
We're going to check out some art on the way.
We're going to
try and do a ride through of
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. See how that goes.
And then
later on this evening, perhaps we'll
try and, on our way out, check out
the new Muppet themed beacon lighting
show on Spaceship Earth.
Now,
since I'm not Jeremy,
I'm used to being behind the scenes, not behind the mic.
Wish us luck. Hopefully things will be great.
No snafus.
And sound will be usable.
So without further ado, let's head out.
Let's walk about the world.
Thanks for visiting us today.
For the safety and health of everyone, masks fully covering your mouth and nose are required when indoors.
Wash your hands often and cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Don't forget to brush your teeth.
Thank your teachers for doing a great job.
I'm a teacher.
Safety first. Alright, travelers.
Is there a correct way to go
when entering the World Showcase?
Because we're going right.
Do you go left or right?
We're headed towards Canada.
We just passed the giant line.
Looks like it's about an hour,
hour and a half for a popcorn bucket.
Right across from Freshman Port and Starbucks.
To our left are the art tents, festival market, and Disney Artist Gallery.
I'm looking at one right now that I have my eyes on
the real gay
Indiana Jones
adventure print
yes please Another Disney artist gallery to our left, right across from Canada.
Oh, speaking of Will Gay, there he is right now.
Wave to Will.
If you don't know Will Gay's art, it's super cute, very fun, very colorful.
Check it out. I got his Figment and Dream Finder print a couple years ago.
There's the mill stage, Alberta bound. I love that fiddle.
And that's our very own Jason Thomas from North Bay, Ontario tearing up that fiddle. We have time for one more song for you, but before we begin we just want to stop and take a second to say thank you for stopping by.
Thank you to this company and to all of you who have shared our lives.
We're going to do a song written by a brilliant young man named Steve. You're welcome. You're welcome.
So if you haven't been to the Festival of the Arts, one of the cool things they do
around the World Showcase and each of the pavilions
is they hide, I gotta say hide but they they put up some characters some character art throughout each of
the pavilions that obviously have some relation to the countries that they represent. For instance, we're walking past the United
Kingdom. Past the fish shop to our left.
The tea caddy to our right. Oh, there's Mary. It's a jolly holiday with Mary.
Wave to Mary, travelers.
And as I was saying, behind Mary, in this instance,
if you look up at the back of the building,
you see Peter Pan's shadow
trying to get into the window.
Fun little things like that.
We'll see what they've
got in France
as we keep walking. Do you miss Jeremy yet?
I do.
He's got the perfect voice for a Walkabout podcast.
Hi. I don't have the library.
Listen to the music cue change here.
As we enter France. I like those tables. It's like currently in France they're playing the Beauty and the Beast sing-along.
I'm gonna pause here because here on Walkabout we love a water feature.
Welcome to the France fountain. My My wife Tiff and my son Jude got us a return time for Ratatouille so let's head over there. Bit breezy.
We're now over in the back of the France Pavilion,
where the Ratatouille Adventure is,
a new section of the park.
Le Créperie de Paris.
Le Créperie.
Some crepes.
What's up? Not much. Thanks for asking.
The curse of carrying a microphone. Now we have another fountain.
Fireball! Yay! You did it! Come on! Daddy! Daddy!
Daddy!
Daddy!
Daddy!

Hey, it's me, Emil.
You know, Remy's brother.
For your safety, please remain seated throughout your adventure
with your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the vehicle at all times.
Oh, and keep an eye on your children.
How are you, friends? I'm Django.
Yes, the father is ready.
For that, he will be asked to remain seated during the meeting.
Put your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the vehicle at any time.
And have the same attitude as him. I'm going. I'm sorry.
I'm a fool for that.
Don't do it again, will you?
See me in my shop.
Chef Fanny is waiting for you.
This way.
Get the big room. I was waiting for you. This way. What are you waiting for?
We need the guests.
The guests for the debate.
Yes, we need to prepare.
We don't have any idea.
No.
A simple omelette?
Too simple.
What?
But what? That's it!
I'll take it now! Pusikita! Pusikita!
Pusikita!
Pusikita!
Pusikita!
Pusikita!

Pusikita! Pusikita! Pusikita! Pusikita! Hey guys, the food is for them, not you. Hey, you!
Hey, you! What are you doing?
The manigance is full.
Out of my way! General, one more time. One, two, three, four. Hurry up!
What is it?
Go! Go! No! I'm scared.
Just around the corner.
No.... Let's go!
Hey!
Hey, I made it!
Yeah!
Hey, thanks for coming, everyone.
Vous êtes toujours les bienvenus, chérie.
A bientôt et bonne fête.
Et oui, no? Oh, my God!
Oh, my God!
We're not by you.
Right this way.
You are always welcome.
And please do share in the event. Au revoir. All right, Jude, what did you think?
It was really cool. It smelled really good.
Would you do it again?
Yes, of course. That was really cool.
Awesome. You've got Jude's seal of approval for the rat ride. If you've ever been to Paris, there's some really great details in this part of the park that just puts you there.
Which is what you would expect, right?
From the Imagineers.
Little details.
Little signs and
just the architecture itself, of course. Above us, the Skyliner taking flight.
It's a bit windy for me.
I don't think I would want to be up there today.
A bit of turbulence.
Regular line for Ratatouille is up to like 100 minutes.
It's only standby now.
You don't have the you no longer have the
mobile
whatchahoosie.
Standby.
What's it called?
I don't know what I'm talking about.
This is why we let
Jeremy do the talking.
Mobile boarding pass, there's the word I was looking for.
Alright, let's wrap things up. I hope you guys enjoyed that walkabout and the ride through Remy's Ratatouille Adventure.
I had fun.
I hope you did too.
This is my first official walkabout on my own so yay so on behalf of myself
and rick our west coast traveler and of course our host jeremy who loves to remind us that
there's a great big beautiful tomorrow and we will see you on one of those.
We'll see you next time, travelers.
