Kalamazoo. You know that one? If you don't, you should know where we are.
It is, I was going to say low 80s, but probably not. It's probably mid 80s, but very low humidity. We're looking at palm trees.
We're on Sunset Boulevard.
And altogether a very pleasant time to be in the Hollywood that never was and always will be.
And since we're in Hollywood, having a producer is very appropriate.
Hello, Joshua.
I see what you did there.
You see what I did? I see what you did there. You see what I did?
I see what you did there.
Yeah, yeah.
How are you?
I'm doing great.
Hang on.
I'm going to, like, move the microphone closer.
How are you?
I'm doing great.
This is my first time in the parks with no mask.
What do you think about that?
You know, I have the mask, which is good.
As do I.
You do need it to go into stores and on attractions, which is smart.
But it is nice to just kind of be free when you need to be, you know?
So we worked hard to get here.
I don't feel the slightest bit bad about it.
We did what we were supposed to.
We masked up.
We brushed our teeth.
We were nice to people.
We got a vaccine.
We listened to that message that is, as you found, very important to this podcast. Yes, we did. We to that message that is as you found very important to this podcast yes we respect
that message the in-park message which i think is gone josh is it we're gonna see but like yeah i
haven't heard it yet if they're not gonna tell us to mask up what are they gonna tell us other than
all the rest of the stuff stay wash your hands stay a little okay maybe
maybe brush your teeth still but i still want that but i think we'll have to record another one
so we are on sunset boulevard because it's a good place to start why not and tonight we're
going to do a couple of things but first thing we did did you even notice we did a cold open
that's called that's called professionalism, folks.
So right here is where we would say cut.
And by the way, these are the stupid thoughts that I have.
I've always, as you see the crowds going, there's not a ton of crowds.
Okay, here comes some.
But there's no street-mysphere here.
You miss the street-mysphere?
I really do, yeah.
It's not the same.
No.
And so I'm not going to be street
atmosphere because that's a really good way to be introduced to areas of the parks that you don't
want to see by burly security guards however i have thought how fun would it be to just hurriedly
rush out into the middle of the street and say quiet on the set and just see how many people
would think you're a total buffoon or how many
people would be like oh there's something going on here probably even mix of both we gotta do that
i don't want to is this gonna happen okay there's a certain rule that we have here at walk about the
world that that is it's this never wait you did not run this by the producers sir it is never endanger your pass the second thing is don't
get arrested but far more importantly don't endanger your pass and we're not going to do that
but what we are going to do tonight is is say welcome to walk about the world see how i do that
nice seamless transition what are are we, Josh?
Do you remember?
You know, I'm going to leave it to you.
See, I know it.
I know it.
I hear it enough.
We are your weekly audio expedition adventure something.
You don't even know it anymore. I make it up as I go along.
I'm moving into the pro.
That's why you're the host.
We are the weekly audio expedition through one of the parks and resorts here at Walt Disney World.
In Orlando, Florida.
Because that's where the parks are.
That's how it works.
How geography works.
And tonight this show is going to be about and featuring you.
We really appreciate you.
We appreciate the feedback.
And we reached out to you guys this week and said give us your input on your favorite
disney bar lounge etc place to get a cold refreshing drink it doesn't have to be alcoholic
but it can be and several of you gave us your input several of you we agree with actually i
think i probably agree with every single one of them, but some of them I very much agree with. Yes, there's not a bad answer in the bunch.
No.
All right, so before we go into the actual topic of the show,
I wanted to read a very nice comment that I've been meaning to get to for a while,
and I'm squinting because I had to take my sunglasses off to read this.
I think because I'm old.
The producer is shading me with his hand.
This is looking very weird on Sunset Boulevard.
Do we need a PA?
That's right.
Umbrellas!
So this is a comment from Amy Neese,
who is a faithful listener,
and also a listener of Resort Loop podcast,
which I dearly love,
and I came from there, as did many of you.
But she says,
This is so nice, capturing the sound of the parks.
For my son's first trip in 2009,
there was a morning where we got to Epcot for extra magic hours.
I had some time away from the group of 11.
Wow, you are, that's hardcore, group of 11.
And she took her child in the stroller around World Showcase before it actually
opened. It's one of my favorite memories and the place I go to mentally when I need to escape.
It was empty aside from a few people sprucing up plants, opening up the different pavilions.
The music was playing softly. You could hear the ducks in the lagoon quacking,
wondering if they would have hot dogs and french fries for
the day. I said that. She didn't say that, but that is what they were wondering. I'd go popcorn.
Popcorn. Yes. It was a crisp morning, and I could feel the sun warming my shoulders. We were so
content in that moment, and that's what this podcast reminds me of. And so we have a producer. We have a kind of a sort of a host.
But if we need a marketing consultant, Amy, you are it.
That was a lovely comment.
I really appreciate it.
It really does speak to kind of the purpose of why we do what we do is to put you in the parks,
give you a little bit of an escape to your happy place.
If you can't be here, come with us.
And so we're going to take off.
We're going to walk.
We're going to talk.
See what we can see with our ears.
And feature some of your comments.
You guys ready?
Let's do it.
Let's go.
The last time that I walked down through here, I sang this.
I mean, just a little piece of it.
I don't know.
Travelers, have we had enough of the singing yet?
One episode too much?
Well, I wasn't
drunk when I sang that time.
Also, can you
tell that the mask isn't
here? I don't know.
You'll have to see. I already recorded
an episode. This is like behind
the scenes.
I recorded one already that I haven't released,
and it was at Animal Kingdom without a mask,
but hopefully it sounds better.
So, Josh.
Yes?
There was some news today that makes...
That's a breeze.
It's really, really windy today.
Like, insanely windy. But there was some news today. Like, like insanely windy.
But there was some news today that makes creatures like us pretty happy.
Let's go to the right.
We have to navigate as we walk about.
Or we walk into.
And so, Josh, what's the news, dude?
So, it was reported earlier today, not officially, but many Disney grammars and media sites announced that there's an opening day for Trader Sam's out west.
So the OG, the original Trader Sam's is...
Not ours.
Not ours. Not yet. No word yet on Grog Grotto. But the Enchanted Tiki Bar is set to open, it says, July 2nd,
which is also when the Disneyland Hotel is reopening.
Exactly.
And so not only is that really good news for them West Coast folks,
but also one step further towards back to normal.
And personally, I cannot wait till the Grog Grogu.
Grog Grogo?
You sure you're not drunk? Grog Grogu? Is that? No. To the Grog Grotto. towards back to normal and personally i cannot wait till the grog grogo grog grogo is that a
thing grog grogu is that no uh to the grog grotto man that's surprisingly hard to say
is back open one of our top places to go
all right so we are emerging out into i one of these days i'm gonna know what this is but is the stage
usually or used to be yes you remember the hat folks yeah I'm not a fan of that
I was gonna say maybe we should do a little poll a poll on the IG and see see
how how travelers felt about the the sorcerer hat aka the giant eyesore pin trading
station if it would have been something other than just a pin trading station maybe i wouldn't
view it so harshly but it just kind of was useless and it blocked the view of everything
i just i just don't understand i feel like the studios has really struggled with their icons
i agree like what is the icon?
Was it the Earful Tower?
Was it the Sorcerer's Hat?
Is it the Tower of Terror?
Nobody knows.
The Chinese Theater.
What is it?
I have to interrupt this broadcast because there's a child melting down in the distance,
and that means it's a show.
That means we're here.
So we are directly in front of the Chinese Theater theater which i am very glad that we can see
clearly mickey's runaway and the line does not look very bad for runaway which okay so if you
could see ahead of us directly in front of us is like the american idol frozen whatever it is now
superstar television yes that big theater thing.
And to the right, the crowds are minimal.
To the left, the crowds are quite large.
And so which way are we going to go?
We're going to go left.
Through the crowds.
Through the crowds, because it's fun.
And you guys can't see it, but we get to see all the gawking,
which is very entertaining.
It's always good.
So let's do it.
Not running over anyone, because that's rude.
Alright, so we asked
you guys,
you guys,
we asked you guys to tell us
your favorite bar's lounge.
And so,
the first contestant,
it's not a contestant, we're not winning anything, but the first response is by whom, Josh?
All right, so the first one we got came in from Mr. Honorary Android, Ryan.
The Honorary Android himself.
And what does he say?
I think he broke the rules right off.
He did break the rules.
He has three.
He's got three choices here.
He says Baseline Tap House, Tune-In Lounge, both here at the studios,
and then yours and my favorite, Nomad Lounge.
Yes, well, congratulations for getting the right answer, first off,
because Nomad is the right answer.
But the other answers are really good, too.
Let's see, who else do we have that said Nomad?
Well, one of them was Heather Hunt.
Someone named Heather Hunt.
A very special person to me.
That's my wife.
And I'm very proud of her for getting the right answer.
Who else did that?
We've also got Keel Hall Kate, another friend, Kate.
Excellent.
Excellent.
Good job, Kate.
Wonderful artist and illustrator.
We've got...
No balloon? No, that was Heather. So I guess that was Kate. Wonderful artist and illustrator. We've got... No balloon?
No, that was Heather.
So I guess that was it for...
So three for Nomad?
Which was three.
So we're going to walk and talk, but let's talk a little bit about the other choices real quick.
The non-Nomad choices real quick.
So he also said Baseline, which is where we're headed.
So, yeah.
Surprise.
Have we told you guys that?
I don't think we've said that yet, but we are going to Baseline and attempt to get a seat,
or we're going to have a frosty beverage and generally enjoy the evening for a few minutes.
But Baseline used to be what, Josh?
Do you know?
Yeah, so that was a writer's stop.
It was.
I loved the writer's stop.
And before that, do you know what it was?
I don't.
So before that, it was Ellen's Buy the Book.
I literally don't know. Is it a bookstore?
It was a bookstore inspired by the ABC Ellen show.
The sitcom.
Okay, okay.
I learn something every day.
We used to visit the writer's stop.
It was a lovely place to chill.
It had
ice cold AC,
which was nice on burning hot Star Wars
weekends days. So it turned into the
baseline tap house, and I believe
the letters for the writer's stop are still in there.
They are decoration.
Decorations on the shelf? Correct.
And what was the other choice of his?
Tune-In.
So across Echo Lake right here that we're looking at right now.
So we are actually looking at the backside of Gertie, as we have mentioned before.
And Tune-In, I've stepped in Tune-In. I'm just going to like, we're not going to sit at a table because it's illegal,
but we're going to stand at a table.
Have you been to Tune-In?
I have many many
a time that used to be uh and this is there's more input from ryan he says okay go ahead he says uh
baseline because 20 ounce california beers good answer you know and uh vintage disneyland ephemera
also good i didn't know that oh we'll check that out when we get there all right uh and then he says he wants to change to tune in oh he changed
his mind oh he's got what news so we talked about tuning i guess to him tune in kind of was a little
kind of secret because it is kind of a it kind of is to the side of uh of prime time inside it's
right kind of it has its own yeah it has its own little entrance yeah but you know so
people don't always know about that but i guess people have discovered it over the years so he
wanted to change his answer okay he's changing to the polite pig oh what i thought he was changing
to the tuna no no he's changing tune in his answer to the polite pig we're changing ryan is changing
to the polite pig the polite pig Polite Pig over at Disney Springs.
Which is the Springs incarnation of a, I wouldn't say a chain, but several restaurants of pig variety.
One of them is Ravenous, they have other ones, but this one's very polite.
Also, that bar is really cool.
It sits outside. I'm a fan of that
one because of it's a great selection of bourbon exactly you're a bourbon guy it's it's a good
place over 50 i believe yeah 50 different types of bourbon menu is huge so it's a really good bar
good flight it's very if you're going for a nice quiet place that's not it it's kind of off the
main thoroughfare there when you come down the escalators at Disney Springs.
It's a little loud, but I do like it.
I don't want to stay on Ryan.
This isn't about Ryan.
This is not the Ryan show, Josh.
This is not the Ryan show, but he did want me to go back to Nomad to tell a little anecdote.
All right.
Regale us.
Whilst we were sitting at the Nomad, one of our first real times that we went to Nomad.
Yeah.
You know, it's a lovely little outside, right outside Tiffin's Restaurant at Animal Kingdom.
This was probably, this must have been 2017, right before Pandora was to open.
All right.
So if you sit there, you're looking across at the bridge that goes over to Pandora.
Yep.
And we're just sitting there enjoying our beverages having a good conversation and then whom do we see walk across this bridge but this
lovely looking man this very adventurous looking man with a big hat indiana jones almost okay
almost no that's wrong i don't know it could be it could be even better but But Mr. Joe Rohde himself. What? And we, so we were like, caught him and we're like, Joe Rohde, Joe Rohde.
So rushed after him and awkwardly tackled him.
We jumped up and we yelled across and we said, Joe Rohde.
And waved at him.
And sure enough, he stopped.
He looked at us.
He pointed.
He waved at us.
Okay.
And he had his thing and said, hello.
And then walked, kept going into, into his Pandora land.
Mutters into his like into his earpiece security.
But it was like this slow motion thing where he kind of whipped around and the earring just kind of glistening in the sunlight.
It was surreal.
It was in slow motion.
So, Joe Rohde.
It was great.
So, that's the story.
You're welcome, Ryan.
Well, thank you, Ryan for for making him do that it's a good one it's very memorable joe is now building rockets
joe is going to the moon or some other he seriously he's working for uh virgin galactic
very cool okay so we've we've talked. We haven't talked Nomad.
We're going to talk Nomad.
We're going to come back to Nomad.
But we've talked TuneIn.
We've talked PolitePigs.
Okay, what's next?
And who's next?
We've got a big popular one here.
Another popular.
It's multiple people here.
All right.
And it's an obvious, and we did mention earlier.
Let's read the names.
Trader Sam.
So we've got CG Max.
Yep.
Who else has got Sam's? Glenn Winters.
Hey, Glenn.
He's coming down. Say hey to him this summer.
Excellent.
Nomad.
Nomad.
And...
Oh, is that it? Really?
Oh, no. John. John also said Trader Sam's.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So when we say Trader Sam's.
J-W.
J-Dubs, as he is known.
J-Dubs.
Warsh, Mr. Warsh.
So when we say Trader Sam's, can we mean either?
Or is that, we can only mean the out west version?
I'm going to say Trader Sam's as a whole.
Okay. I'm going to say, because, you know, the drinks are similar all right the atmosphere is similar it is you do have your
your uniqueness to each but i'm gonna say trader sam's in itself counts as trader sam's
and so if you have not been to either one of the Trader Sam's locations, first off, you should do that.
Whenever they reopen, you should go.
It's tiki, but they're themed a little differently.
How would you describe Out West versus Out East?
Well, I can tell you that the biggest theme is the era that they are themed to.
True. Because the original is, I believe, the 30s and 40s, and then our Grotto is the 50s, which
is why you see kind of the 20,000 leagues.
I was going to say, very reminiscent, ours is, of 20,000 leagues.
Shout out to Brandon Klyley, Mr. Trader Brandon.
Can't have Trader Sam's without Brandon. So we have circumscribed Echo Lake
and we are now directly
at the backside of Gertie
with the SS down the hatch
across the lake.
We haven't made it very far
because we're talking.
We're kind of walking and talking here.
We're walking and talking.
We're talking about your comments.
It still counts as a walkabout
even though we're walking and talking about it. It's a slow walkabout. It's alright.
And so, who else do we have? What other comments do we have here?
Let's see here. No, I haven't forgotten about Nomad. We're going to get back there.
M.USA.92. Jock Lindsay's, hands down.
Okay. So, I'm going to talk Jock Lindsay's for a minute.
Do we have a name behind that screen name?
We just have a screen name, don't we?
I'm looking, I'm assuming it's probably M.
Okay.
I don't know.
So, Jock Lindsay's, I'm a huge Indiana Jones fan.
I think we've mentioned that before.
Incidentally, we're standing right next to Indiana Jones.
Epic stunt spectacular, yet to open.
Miss you.
But anyway, huge fan of Indiana Jones, the whole franchise.
My home office is decorated Indiana Jones.
Jock Lindsay's is my happy place.
It's kind of my home away from home.
My indie shrine, I absolutely love it.
And anytime I talk favorite bars, it's always going to be really close for me,
for Jock Lindsay's and
Nomad.
Jeremy, I do believe, if I'm not mistaken,
you and I met
because of Jock Lindsay's.
If you recall, because Jock
Lindsay himself, Mr.
Fred Sorensen, had his
what was it, 70th birthday
at Jock's, and he was there
and he invited anyone who wanted to come hang out
and talk indie with him and talk airplanes with him.
You were there.
I was there.
I was there.
You were there.
And that's how we met, actually, through Instagram, I believe.
I think you're right.
I actually totally forgot about that.
Look at that.
Look at this.
Look at us.
It's synergy.
Now you know the rest of the story, as Paul Harvey would say.
But I love the bar.
I love the theming.
I love the staff.
So I'm going to give you extra points, even though you don't have the winning answer because it's Nomad.
I'm saying that.
You can't see my face.
I'm saying that with a smile.
All the answers are right.
Nomad wins out a little bit for me.
We'll talk about that.
But before we do what else
do we have uh well glenn also mentioned jock lindsey's okay uh and then he also said the
adventurers club cries take me back come on man it's not fair to mention stuff that doesn't exist
i mean it's a worthy addition like it's a worthy comment for sure but also can i tell you guys a
little secret josh can i tell i've a little secret? Josh, I never went.
I didn't get to go.
Unfortunately, the only time I ever went was just before it closed.
For some reason, it just never happened.
And I think it didn't really, like most things, we grew fonder of it once it was gone.
I hear the stories and it sounds wonderful. And the fact that it was created. You know, so... I hear the stories, and it sounds wonderful,
and the fact that it was created by Joe Rohde...
Exactly.
Oh, man.
But we moved here too late.
Actually, we didn't.
That's the darndest part.
We moved here before it was closed,
but we didn't know about it,
and then when we found out about it,
it had closed already, so...
Sad times.
However, good answer.
Good response.
What else we got?
Or have we reached the end?
No, there's one more
unique answer
from Your Arms,
My Hearst.
That's Matt.
Hi, Matt.
California Grill.
This is a,
this one's
sneaked in.
I would say snuck in.
That's grammatically incorrect.
Sneaked in on me.
I'm surprised by this one.
What do you think about it? This is one I've never been, I've never actually been up in the contemporary. I'm surprised by this one. What do you think about it?
This is what I've never actually been.
Up in the contemporary.
I haven't either.
I've been to the bar in the DVC building up at the top.
With the monorail, Bobcorp monorail.
I've been there.
I've not eaten or drank at the California Grill.
So I don't have a whole lot to say.
I mean, I've not encountered anybody who's been to the California Grill that didn't love it,
so good response.
And it makes me want to check it out now, so...
That's part of it.
So we've talked about answers that overlap,
but have we mentioned everybody's name?
Did we make sure we did that?
I think so.
Oh, WDW Shutterbug. I don't think
it's back open, but Trader Sam's.
There we go. There's another one for Sam's.
Hi, WDW Shutterbug.
I do believe that's it. Okay.
So, lots
of good responses.
My absolute favorite is Nomad. I'll let Josh
talk about why he enjoys it.
Also created
largely by Joe Rohde and his team, obviously, his crew.
But the atmosphere of the bar is very much a traveler's rest.
It's a traveler's rest stop.
It's where you would go to have a cold beverage on whatever trail you were on
and whatever adventure you were going to or coming from
and relax and tell stories of where you'd been
or where you're going with your crewmates.
And it has a really lovely vibe.
The soundtrack is amazing.
I play it often while I'm working.
And surprisingly for an in-park bar,
like most of the Disney bars that I love are at resorts
or at the springs and
for an in park bar like it makes me wonder how it got in there it's really really good but it's in
a park it is really really good and you know if you've never been you know it's right outside
tiffin's part of tiffin's uh which you know very unique dining it is for sure it's a good place
for animal kingdom and yep um you know not not everybody's
cup of tea kind of like a skipper canteen you know that it's an adventurous menu and i say that
like not tongue-in-cheek it really is so may not be your thing but the nomad lounge is also a lounge
i've been calling it a bar it's really not a bar is you know more loud where you go get a drink
have some entertainment this is a lounge you go to go to relax. You go and you chill.
There's not a lot of decoration.
It's just comfy seating and good beverages and some snacks if you need them.
It's a good time.
So there you go.
This is not the last time we will do something like this because we enjoy your feedback.
Okay, so before we go any further, we want to do favorite drinks at Nomad.
Favorite drink.
What you got?
Mine is, I'm not going to get this right.
It's the Anna, Anna, Anna, Anna, Anna Perna Zing.
And no, I haven't had one already.
Quiet.
Anna Perna Zing. And no, I haven't had one already. Quiet.
Annapurnazing.
Bombay Sapphire Gin Passion Fruit Puree.
Mint, Simple Syrup, and Lime Juice topped with ginger beer and a glowing lotus flower.
I normally get it without the glowing lotus flower because what am I going to do with it?
Yeah, what are you going to do with it?
But I like gin-based drinks.
That's my favorite there.
What about you?
I already mentioned that I do have a like for bourbon.
I'm Tempting Tigress.
The Tempting Tigress. Yeah.
The Tempting Tigress.
Russell's Reserve 10-Year Bourbon, St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram, tamarind syrup, and lime juice.
Love tamarind.
Yeah.
Very sour.
I dig it.
It's a good drink.
Okay.
Now we move.
Now.
Tally-ho. Sally Forth. Whatever. Congalo a good drink. Okay. Now we move. Now. Tally-ho.
Sally forth.
Whatever.
Kungaloos.
Kungaloos.
And all of that.
Is that a thing?
I don't think that means go ahead, but we're going to anyway.
So while we're on drinks, you can still get a Kungaloos.
You can still get a Kungaloos.
Which was a popular beverage at the Adventurers Club.
It's not the original recipe anymore, but you know a popular beverage at the adventures club it's not the
original recipe anymore but you can still get it at a couple of different places i think sam's will
do it uh and uh also at the margarita bar at springs i don't know maybe i think so marketplace
area i think um i think that's where i've had one before can you
guys hear this wind it is so windy we've actually been having like a rip current warnings over on
the coast it's just a screaming east wind for the last few days it's kind of weird but boy does it
help the theme park crowd and enjoyment at a theme yes the comfort level has increased. And so...
We are standing next to the Mickey Shorts Theater.
And I hate to admit this, but I just now realize the gag.
Because they show Mickey Shorts, but it also... Is Mickey Shorts.
It's the...
It has Mickey Shorts.
It's the color of Mickey Shorts.
This isn't the Observant podcast, apparently.
So when you edit this, you need to put another sad trombone there.
I know, man.
See, I'm the guy who isn't afraid to not know things.
I'm not sure if I edited the piece out,
but when I was in the animal kingdom, I asked...
I don't know if keeper is the right word,
but the cast member that talks about the animals,
I asked about the Komodo dragon,
and I said, is it dangerous?
And he looked at me for a full two or three seconds
like I was a complete idiot.
It eats people, Jeremy. It eats people it eats literally the guy next to me says are you serious and i'm like yeah he said it's very dangerous i'm
like tell me about it so the guy next to me not even the cast member starts talking to me about
how dangerous the komodo okay so this isn't the animal kingdom episode. But anyway, I'm not afraid not to know things. So, Backlot Express to our left.
Closed.
It is closed, but I mean, it's open every day, but it closes early.
And why that is, I have no earthly idea.
Yeah. Interesting.
It is very difficult to find food here after 5, 6 o'clock.
Like, the park itself is open to 8.
Some nights open a little later.
But finding food later in the day is very difficult.
I'm not sure what the business decisions are there.
But you know what?
I don't work here.
I just walk around and talk here.
Star Wars store to the left.
What is the name of the Star Wars store?
Tatooine Traders. Tatooine Traders. My wife Tiffany used to work in there, I the left. What is the name of the Star Wars store? Tatooine Traders.
My wife Tiffany used to work in there, I do believe, at some point in time.
She did merchandise at the studios back in the day.
Awesome.
Had to wear the big...
See, I didn't know this.
The old uniform that was, you know, poofy and...
Not the cool, sleek ones that they have now.
Not the Galaxy's Edge ones.
Right.
So I don't need to tell you where we are now because we are...
Do you hear that?
Do you hear that change in the loop?
Yes.
And being only one thing.
It can.
Grand Avenue.
Where are we?
We are on Grand.
And to our right is Baseline where we're going to attempt to find a seat.
But first, I'm going to walk over towards the Muppet Courtyard because I always walk over there.
I like the fountain.
You can't not visit the Muppets.
Now, if you're from West Virginia, which I am, I normally take the T out of the fountain.
These are details that you only hear on Walk About the World.
Also, I love the soundtrack for Grand Avenue.
But I normally say fountain.
Fountain.
And I don't like the sound of that.
So if you hear me over-pronounce the T, that's why.
The fountain.
All right, we're taking a left, going into Mppet courtyard what do you call a um like water that you drink from from the
machine you know like that you would go like have at school a water fountain you call that a water
fountain but i say yeah i'm trying to say fountain right but yeah is it called something else no well
here i've only heard fountain but i'm i'm originally from massachusetts up there it's
called a bubbla is it really yeah it's the bubbla i wouldn't want to drink from a bubbler you don't
want to drink from the bubbla you have lobster with the with the bubbla what do i know see
we're in west virginia the only time we ever see a lobster is at a grocery store or something.
Also, it smells wonderful back here.
It smells smoky.
You know why?
It's not because of Pizza Rizzo.
I'll tell you that.
It's from Mama Melrose's, which is down around the corner at the back.
You know what?
I had the rat pizza a week or two ago, and it wasn't terrible.
Can you hear it?
What is the name of the boat, Josh?
Why don't I know this?
I don't know.
Take a look at the back.
Sorry, travelers.
Is that too loud?
That's the Wretched Refuse.
It's the Wretched Refuse, baby.
I didn't even notice that.
See?
We're meant to be together on this podcast.
Because apparently I didn't notice that either.
Well, shout out to my friend Chrissy who pointed that out on a live stream.
I didn't know it either.
The magnolias are blooming in Florida too.
Do you have magnolias where you are, travelers?
If you don't, you should.
They smell wonderful.
Okay, so we're going to attempt to procure a seat at baseline and if we do i'll catch up with you there let's tell you know it's cool together
can you hear us i'm not sure if you can hear me or not i'm leaning in so i don't know if
you can hear me or not but we're at baseline we have a table and we have
pretzels and beers and charcuterie or charcuterie
charcuterie
what beer did we get Josh I asked while he's eating his charcuterie yeah
excuse me I do believe we both got the Hefeweizen The Golden Road Hefeweizen or Hefeweizen?
Hefeweizen, yeah
Hefeweizens?
Yeah
Bias?
Bier
I'm sorry
I'm sorry, German people
Do we have any German...
You know what, actually, no we do
I looked at the stats and...
We're doing well in Germany
Excellent
I say that kind of joking
There's at least a few of you in Germany that are listening
Because...
Or at least that's what the stats say. So again, I'm sorry. My Hefeweizen is
light and very crisp, very carbonated, and very cold, which I appreciate. It's continued Mmm.
It's continued to cool down, and the breeze is insane over here.
Beautiful.
Perfect.
It is a lovely, lovely evening here at the studios.
Glad you could join us.
I'm okay with this. Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway Queue.
Did I plan this? No.
You don't need to plan it.
When it's a walk- walk on you just walk on so is this
cue music specifically for
Runaway? I would assume
I've never heard it anywhere else
definitely not like great movie ride stuff
I tell ya I was just gonna say
being in this part
really makes me miss all the props
like where is
the Ark of the Covenant?
I know.
Where is Mary Poppins' carousel horse?
I do have to admit, though, towards the end,
I wasn't one of the ones that was, like, super teary-eyed
about losing the great movie.
It was a great ride.
It was here forever, so it definitely had its day.
So I'm not going to feel too bad about it.
I think you're in the minority, but that's okay. Yeah, I know. It was here forever, so it definitely had its day, so I'm not going to feel too bad about it. I think you're in the minority,
but that's okay. Yeah, I know. That's okay.
Oh, wait a minute.
Okay.
So that...
So it feels like they've just moved the outside
and now it's the inside.
That's different. He definitely talked about
secret tunnel.
Kudos to you
if you know the secret tunnel reference, by the way. It's me, Big Boogie, the engineer Goofy.
Welcome to Clown Rock Railroad.
Straight to the safety while riding a moving train.
Stay seated with your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the train.
And be sure to keep an eye on the railroad.
Oh, thanks. Train to Miami. And be sure to keep an eye on it. All right. When goofy is your engineer,
there's your problem.
Casting, casting, casting on! I'm going to have to get my name back on the table. You can do that, little girl. Gracias. A best thing, best thing.
Just like that.
Can you all hear me?
Can you back up a bit?
Here we go.
Oops.
I'm going to have to relax you right around the corner.
I am going to have to get my name back on the table.
Hey, little girl.
I'm going to have to get my be your target. Hey, little man!
Stop! You're turning into some terrible threat!
You're a spirit, mate! You're what could possibly go wrong!
You're gonna go through the fire!
Oh no! I must have hit that track switch!
I mean, wait!
This is all part of the fall!
Oh no! The Jets are getting trapped!
Hey, let's get that runaway train!
Oh, not a chance! Hurry, hurry, hurry! Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls!
Watch out! There they are!
We'll be right back! I'm sorry. Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!
Hi, Mickey! Hi! We have to stop them! We're moving all over the place!
Whoa! I'm sorry. That's right.
Everyone to your positions. Ready and...
One, two, three. One, two, three. Oh, excellent. You're all waltzing so beautifully together.
Now, let's go! Now to the hard world!
Don't scratch me!
We did it!
Come on!
Watch me!
Go!
Well, that concludes my guided tour.
Hope you had a relaxing ride around the park.
And thank you for sticking with me.
Hey, picnickers!
Told you nothing was gonna go wrong! It's time now. I'm so scared. Woo! I'm in danger.
We've had one crazy ride.
No one will move on my side.
The stars will be on high.
And the wind will still blow.
The stars will be on high. I don't know if you can get into Launch Bay.
Like, if there is stuff, I don't know.
Huh.
I haven't checked since I got here.
What are you going to do in a cold open?
Is this a cold close? I don't know.
So
what we're doing here is wrapping up, folks,
if you can't tell. It's actually after
8, the park is closed.
Hope you enjoyed Mickey's Runaway Railway.
Hope you enjoyed hanging out with us, doing a walk
around, doing a walkabout, doing a talk about.
And also, appreciate
you weighing in. Josh, you having a good time?
I had a great time.
Thanks everybody for your responses
and telling us all your faves.
And hopefully you had a good time.
Enjoyed the
baseline
evening vibes. That was really
cool.
And, dude, it is super pleasant, and also it's time to leave.
Shouldn't be, but it is.
They need to keep the parks open a little bit longer.
So says I.
So say we all.
Something like that.
Let's get those searchlights going over there.
You can't even take a picture of it.
It's still light outside.
Anyway, guys, appreciate you.
And follow us over on Instagram at WalkAboutWDW.
