Hello and good evening, travelers.
From, you know, Disney's Magic Kingdom.
We're here in the evening for just a quick stroll
and some Magic Kingdom vibes
because I needed them.
I would say there's a lot of people here
because there is, but they're all on the street.
We're arriving mid-evening-ish
and believe it or not, people are already gathering for the fireworks.
And so we're going to weave our way slowly down Main Street, around Tomorrowland, into Fantasyland,
and I am going to say nothing.
Because, like you, I need a good stroll down Main Street and just wandering around the park.
So that's what we're going to do.
Just breathe in and breathe out.
That's all I'm saying.
The confectionary is back open.
Did you hear?
I'm sure you did.
We're not the Disney News podcast here,
but we are standing right across from the confectionary adjacent to Tony's Town Square, where the amazing bed of roses and salvia and crepe myrtles are, because, you know, I've got to do the plant thing.
I just love it.
And it's cool.
How crazy is that?
It's fall in Florida, which means high 80s.
I know, don't laugh.
But we get to high 80s, we're like, oh, thank God.
Oh, wait, here we go.
For the safety and health of everyone,
masks fully covering your mouth and nose are required when indoors. Wash your hands
often and cover your mouth and nose
when coughing or sneezing.
Thank you for your cooperation.
There's definitely a veiled threat in that
thank you. Thank you for your
cooperation. And if not...
Anyway, with
no further ado from me, I'm going
to be quiet and we... I say we, Heather's here. Hi, Heather.
Hi, everybody.
We are going to walk right down the middle of Main Street, USA, and then do a tour of Tomorrowland Fantasyland, circle back, probably try to grab some food from our favorite intergalactic crooners area, Sunny Eclipse,
but I'm not going to record that.
Been there, done that.
We probably will record it again, but not today.
And then just kind of mill around a little bit,
and then get out before the fireworks, because it's going to be nuts trying to get out of here.
Anyway, thanks for joining us, and let's go. The The The The The The the

Travelers, that is going to bring our
very laid back
non-talky walk
is that a thing?
to a close today
we and by we I mean Heather and I Hi Heather talky walk, is that a thing, to a close today.
We, and by we I mean Heather and I.
Hi, Heather. Hi, guys. We are seated right at the base of the Astro Orbiter, right underneath the
track of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover,
which is glowing red underneath. The Astro Orbiter
is glowing neon green and orange and red and blue,
and it is right at sunset.
Clouds were red just a minute ago, now it's fading to dark blue,
and it is entirely pleasant, slightly breezy,
and a great place to be in the evening.
I'm going to be personal with you guys for a minute. Maybe
I should, maybe I shouldn't, but I never stopped before, so why not continue? So this is my
first time back in Magic Kingdom in seven weeks. I think seven weeks. Is that right, Heather?
Because your humble host, seven weeks ago,
had an incredibly traumatic anxiety incident that put me in the hospital for two days.
I didn't even know that could be a thing.
I'm always the type of person that just goes and goes and suck it up, do what you got to do, etc. yada yada yada. And I hit a brick wall. And again,
I'm just being real with you. And so I've been recovering since that time, slowly.
Again, I didn't know that could be a thing either. I kind of assumed, hey, that's done,
let's move on. But that's apparently not the way it works, according to the experts. And I am not
one, so I'm listening to them. But because of that, it's been tough for me to get back in the
parks. And I've came back slowly. And this was the last park to check the box on tonight.
And frankly, it's the last because, as you know, you're Disney fans,
it takes a long time and multiple steps to get into the Magic Kingdom.
You come in, you park, you walk from your car to the TTC, you get on the boat or the monorail.
You come in, you do the tap styles, finally you're in.
We even timed it today.
It was 40 minutes and 17 seconds from the car to the tap style
because we're nerds.
But anyway, I'm only sharing this with you
because I appreciate the fact that whether you knew it or not, some of you
actually did know it. You've reached out to me. I've communicated with you. You know who you are.
You've been patient along the way. The episodes have been a little different. I've actually had
my daughters record for me, as you know. There's our abbreviated announcement, by the way. Brush
your teeth, be nice to your teachers, fold your clothes.
But my daughters have recorded for me,
and then we also have a very good friend,
you know who you are,
who's in the parks a lot,
who did some recording for us as well when I couldn't.
And yeah, we've just kept trucking,
and not because I had to,
but because this little podcast brings me joy,
and continuing to at least edit the episodes
made me happy. And so I announced on Instagram, by the way, walkaboutwdw is where we are on
Instagram. Please go over there and follow us. That's where we interact. I announced recently
that we passed 10,000 downloads. What does that mean? Absolutely nothing. But it's a cool milestone,
and the point is, thank you. I appreciate you guys following along with us, going on walkabouts
with us. We do this because it makes us happy. The parks are our happy place. It was really tough
when I couldn't come. It still is a little tough, if I'm honest, this evening. Parts of this weren't easy, uh, but it's getting better.
And these parks bring us peace and just, I even told Heather a minute ago,
walking, uh, through Tomorrowland at dusk, man, it just makes me happy.
How can you not be?
So I'm going to quit blabbing and just say thank you.
Thanks for tagging along.
Appreciate all of you guys who chime in.
And then lastly, not to be preachy, but if you are dealing with being overwhelmed,
if you are dealing with being overworked,
if you have moments that make you gasp because you think,
I'm not sure how to deal with this,
please don't be like me.
Reach out. Reach out to a family member or a friend that you can trust,
because there are folks out there that can get you through this without hitting the brick wall
that I did, and that is frankly the only reason I'm sharing this tonight. Take care of yourselves, travelers. We care about you. And there is a great, big,
beautiful tomorrow right across the way is the carousel of progress. We will see you in one of
those on another walk about the world. Good night, everybody. Good night, everybody.
