Hello Hello, travelers. Welcome back to Walk About the World,
your weekly audio country toe-tapping journey
through one of the parks or resorts of Walt Disney World here in Orlando, Florida.
And this week we have a bonus episode for you, and I've been waiting on this one.
And the fun fact is yours truly didn't
even record this one. This was a mission that my daughters undertook for recording the Country Bear
Jamboree in the Magic Kingdom. And many of you know this well. Some of you, like me, don't know
it well at all. But just an intro from Disney.
Disney says,
Step inside the rustic theater known as Grizzly Hall and take your seat before the lights dim.
Clap along as 18 audio-animatronic hillbilly bears play along and sing during this 16-minute foot-stomping celebration.
Because there's bears right so you'll hear a medley of original and classic tunes all
performed by the zaniest critters in the woods and with me is my daughter chaney hi chay hi
have you done country bears before you guys went to record this because they they did this but they
were on a visit to magic kingdom and said hey we're going to go do country bears we're going
to record and so they did.
And the recording is really good.
I think you guys will like it.
But have you done this attraction before?
No, this was actually my first time doing Country Bears.
And I wasn't disappointed.
It was really hilarious and way longer than I expected it to be.
I thought it was going to be way shorter.
So that was a pleasant surprise.
So overall, so this is, okay, so another little note here.
It says that Country Bear Jamboree is one of the very last attractions
that Walt Disney himself personally helped develop.
It was originally planned for a never-built Disney ski resort in Mineral King, California.
The show with the skiing bears happily moved to Florida in 71,
so it was an opening day attraction, which I didn't know that.
Overall, since it's the first time you saw it,
what did you think about the show content?
The songs and all that.
What was your impression?
I really liked all the songs.
Some of them were quite hilarious in the lyrics.
My only thing is that the speakers are right by the bears that are singing.
And I was to the right corner of the room. So when a bear was to the left corner in the room I couldn't really hear him so I wish they had
the lyrics up on the screen like they did for one song and I feel like I could have a better
experience but it was still really fun. Now since I have the luxury because of the magic of audio
editing of having heard the recording already I I was very surprised. Spoiler alert,
the audience was very much into it. Like, do you agree? No, yeah, they were clapping
almost every song and they were laughing. It was great. Okay, so enough of us. Wherever you are,
I hope you are well and that you can enjoy a little trip to the, what is it called, the Grizzly Hall.
And have a little visit with the country bears.
Have fun.
Let's do another one here, everyone.
This is also the only show in the front here everyone.
What do you call a wet bear everyone?
A drizzly bear. Oh, you're all dead!
Woo!
All righty, folks, for your safety, we have to take a look down at those people.
Those people from left to right, please.
I'm very excited.
Someone already pulled, already pulled that trigger.
They tried that last time.
I know, it was a very, very bad joke. So we did leave a prize.
It was a one-way ticket to see if you looked at it and it was your seat.
You get a one-way ticket to see your seat. You're welcome.
Y'all want to hear a joke?
How many ears does Davy Crockett have?
He has three.
He has his left ear, his right ear,
and his front ear.
Howdy everyone!
Howdy everyone! Howie! Howie everyone!
Howie!
Very good job! Welcome to Grizzly Hall,
home of the country bear GM3,
and we will sign a spirit mission
in all the frontier.
Those bears will like you to remind you to refrain from
flash photography and or video external lighting.
Now let's wake up those high-guarding
bears and give them a yee-haw!
Yee-haw!
Henry, what's going on? Let's get on with the show.
Now, Buzz, be patient.
Yeah, we ain't going anywhere anyhow.
We're kind of hung up here.
Give me a little intro there, Gomer.
Howdy, folks! Welcome to the one and only, original country band, Jamboree!
Featuring a bit of Americano, our musical heritage of the past.
And right now, I give you a sort of a sort of executioners of music and song, the Five
Bear Rocks.
Get it, boys? Well, our band rounds on playing now in the good old key of G.
Z and Zip, Ted and Fred, and Barney, Tennessee.
Zip's playing on banjo and a tapping with his strings.
A banging on the bench playing with a ring on the country field.
Said the song of a fiddle with crooked hit-and-go. When the spirit moves that moon, he can make that fiddle go.
But Ted's a home-conjunct, now made that family blow.
He also plays the washbow bowl and puts the handle on.
He played the big tricks play last time.
He played the kind of side.
He never took a lesson.
He just fixed it up from there.
And little Tennessee Bear is a lynching on the spine.
Sounds just like a pitch off, but it's holding up on strength.
So clap your hands and start to beat, try to keep track of it,
Watch your friends and friends, cause it's real, country real. Oh, my God! One night I left the wife at home, and I was with the boys.
I was acting like a drunk one, making a lot of noise.
Gentle lover boy.
A little girl fell on my hand.
I said, I can't, I'm a bad man.
She said, you ain't gonna see me, you better not cry out.
I'm coming over, they go, oh, oh, you can't bite, don't cry out. You can't bite, don't cry out. And now, a heart-rendering ditty by our old grounder song, Who liberates the broad Sing it, Mac I've got a woman, she's got me
Whatever we do, we both agree
She ain't sturdy, but I ain't too
The things we like are the things we do
A woman ain't sturdy, but she don't swear none
She's kinda heavy, don't weigh a ton
She's my of heavy, don't weigh a ton.
She's my woman through and through.
I love her only cause her heart is true.
Lava don't walk to let you through Mama don't count on you to stay Mama don't want to let you through I think you should shoot them instead Yes, folks, we only have high-class stuff on this show.
And now, here's a special treat out of town.
Our own drinks.
Tears will be the chaser for your wine After you leave this love of mine
Bright lights and taverns
That's where you'll spend your time
And tears will be the chaser for your wine.
How long is to bread and burn?
How soon is now or never?
How long will these heartaches linger on?
And how long will my baby be gone? Oh, here they come.
Those little sunbots from the sunshine state.
Buddy, Bubbles, and Beulah.
Every time I meet a guy who gets me shook.
Followed by a bit from him to dirty look. Every time I meet a guy who gets me shook
All I ever get from him is a dirty look
It's the same way everywhere I've found
All the guys who turn me on turn me down
All the guys who turn on the curb and down
Nothing works for me without a pound
It's the same way everywhere I see
Nothing ever seems to work for me
But you need somebody
My, my That's good is, that's him back.
Dedicated, dedicated, and dedicated.
Now, let's bring it close.
The last of the big time swingers.
Swingin' Ted Barry.
Well, there he goes.
He hardly knows the heart he's breakin'.
Love me, love me
I talked to him, but I don't think he understood
Oh, just forget about the plans that we were making
Heart, we did all that we could
Y'all come up and see me sometime, you hear?
Yeah, as soon as I find a ladder I'll be right up
Mm-hmm If I find a ladder, I'll be right up soon. There was blood on the sand
And blood all around
And we become
All alone
Yeah
Found on the mountaintop of Tennessee
Greenest tide in the land of the free
Raised in the woods so they knew every tree
Time came afar and there was only three
Davy, Davy Crockett
King of the wild frontier
Off in the woods he's a-marchin' along
Makin' up yards and a up yarns and singing a song.
It's her fightin' and runnin' up the road.
Hey, fightin' is very important.
I'll say you can do two now.
Henry, lead him out.
Right, Sammy.
Hey, gang, hit it.
I'll knock the tune off your seat.
There it goes, there it goes, so you know the beat. I am not the typical PC Paragraphs, paragraphs, you better be
Better get your apples from the door and see me
Where's y'all little big guns heading through the gate?
They take around the middle and he's pulling across the route
Running nine miles an hour, taking 30 feet of gas
They've never been cold and they've never been clean
Some folks say it's a lot like me
Well, as you can see, we're just one big happy family.
Well, folks, this concludes our show.
So thanks for bearing with us to the bearing.
What do you say,
Sammy? I say, y'all come back, you hear?
