Which bear is best?
Bigger, for sure.
He is, you're right.
That's the right answer.
He's big.
No, that's the right answer.
You're right.
Really?
Hello, travelers, and welcome back to Walk About the World, your weekly audio adventure
through the parks and resorts of Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
I'm Josh.
With me is...
I'm Pete.
Also joining us today we have...
Hi.
My wife Tiffany and our pal...
The bear, Jay Bear.
Jay.
We are coming to you from Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom this evening.
What is our goal?
I think it's to see the bears.
Oh, the bears. That was what that conversation was.
I think they're hibernating
for a little bit coming up.
That's right. This week
is the last
show for the
original Country Bear Jamboree
as we know it.
So by the time you listen to this episode
the bears will be closed
and ready for their next performances, whatever those may bring, which we'll find out sometime later this year, I think.
Hopefully.
We'll see.
So, we're going to walk around Fantasyland, perhaps take in an attraction or two, and on our way to Frontierland right now we are passing
it's a small world just in front of us are the tangled toilets beautiful
toilets there really are stunning stunning toilets as far as toilets and
themed toilets go so we're gonna hang out in Fantasyland for a bit and then
walk over to Frontierland and catch our last recording of the Country Bear
Jamboree. Oh, I'm in the water. Oh no. Well, as Pete is mourning the loss of his Mickey bar and half the chocolate,
which just fell right off.
Oh man.
Real sad. It's like a little kid who lost his balloon.
Anywho, a little bit ago, not too long ago, we had a request from a listener.
Jacob asked if we could check out and record the Seven Dwarves Mine Train.
Well, since we are here at the Magic Kingdom tonight,
that's exactly what we're going to do since we're hanging out in Fantasyland.
Let's go see what we can do with the Seven Dwarves Mine Train.
And maybe, I don't know, get Pete a new ice cream bar.
Aw, man.
All right, let's go to Mine Train.
She had a good first roller coaster.
You are good, my friend.
All right, so we ended up getting the best seats in the train.
We're in the very back.
Sure did.
Rose 9 and 10.
I'm excited.
Our mine cart approaches.
Wrong coaster. Neat. I'm not gonna change. I'm not gonna change. I'm not gonna change. I'm not gonna change. I'm not gonna change. Here's the wildest ride.
Wrong, wrong coaster.
Me too.
Woo! Oh, my God. Thank you. I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel I want to fly
I want to fly
I want to fly I want, I want To my home, my home My home, my home
It's home from where we go
My home, my home, my home
My home, my home
It's home from where we go
My home, my home
It's home from where we go I hope, I hope, it's all worth it all. Oh, my God. All the gates are open. There you go, Jacob.
I hope that ticks that off the list there for you.
Yeah, we appreciate that because I haven't been on that ride in a long time.
And it's a good one.
It's a really good ride, especially at night and a full moon.
Beautiful, yeah.
And then we're going to want to go walk at a cheap bar.
Let's keep to Fantasyland and then head over to Front go around let's uh let's keep keep to fantasy land
and then head over to frontierland for some country bars
hang on i have to get my bearings as to where we are i like what you did there see because
because we're going to the country bears now state it's been just just a
fantasy today I don't get it
the next 25 minutes anyway 35 minute wait for Mansion this evening.
Memento Mori to our left.
Harbor House straight ahead.
Heading into Liberty Square. Oh, I see. I think it's right back there. Sorry. Jay, you do realize since this is your walkabout debut,
this means you're going to have to become a regular listener, right?
Absolutely.
Okay, we have that on tape. I already am a regular listener.
You just don't know yet.
So fully...
It's been documented. You heard it here first. Over to our left, I can see the two lanterns up in the window.
Two if I see.
I'm sure you American history buffs understand that.
Little details in Liberty Square.
Nobody's in the stocks.
Nobody's in the stocks.
Everybody's been good today, I guess.
Is that officially part of Disney jail?
Are they going to make fresh popcorn for me?
Pete, you'll notice that we are avoiding the River of Poo.
We sure are.
We sure are.
It actually gets very vast over here.
The vast River of Poo. Hard to avoid it over here.
All right, we're coming into Frontierland.
Passing over the mighty Mississippi.
Get ready for another musical change. Here we go. Kansai International Airport Good morning, guys! I love being a good shot. We're going to go into the trading pool.
Right there.
We were going to be very late today.
We're going to go into the trading pool. All right, we have arrived at our destination.
Straight ahead.
Grizzly Hall.
Home of the Country Bear Jamboree.
Singing and stomping, clapping and growling.
A wild and wooly good time.
We're going to hang out.
Wait for the next show time.
We'll see you in the show. I'm actually going to be quiet for a second. Oh, shoot! I don't know if I like that turn.
Oh, I see, it's got the...
Already the energy.
Just coming into the show.
There might be a capacity.
And all it takes is a closing of an attraction.
It is kind of funny, isn't it? I'm not talking.
Howdy, folks.
Welcome to the one and only Country Bear Jamboree.
Can I get your biggest, your loudest, yee-haw.
Yee-haw.
All righty, friends.
This time, let's remind you guys to please refrain from using flashlights or any of your lighting.
And please, no eating or drinking inside the theater.
With that being said, let's give a big round of applause for our Bears.
Woo!
Woo!
Woo! Yeah, we ain't going anywhere anyhow.
We're kind of hung up here.
Give me a little intro there, Gord.
Gord.
Gord.
Gord.
Gord.
Gord.
Gord.
Gord.
Gord.
Gord. Gord. Gord. Gord. I'm a man of the world. The executioner's a beautiful song. The Five Barrels!
Get it boys!
Woo!
We could all kill a chief.
Zip and zip, ten friends friend of our name, Tennessee.
Zip's a twang on a banjo and a tap in the wind of Spain.
A-banging on a death-pike with a bill of country bills.
Zip's a song of a fiddle with a crook in his head and bone. When the spirit moves that groove, he can make that fiddle go.
Rump Ted is on the corn jug, now make that baron blow. He also plays the washboard with a hand on the wall.
And Big Fred's playing my part, he plays it kinda sad.
He never took a lesson, he just picked it up from Dad.
And little old Tennessee band is a feature of the time. Sounds just like a guitar, but it's only got one string.
So clap your hands and stomp your feet and try to keep it up. Watch your own hair and your own feet.
Oh, come see me, little girl.
Come on! One night I left the wife at home
And I went out with the boys
I was acting like a darned one
And making a lot of noise
The go-go girl called my hand
I said, I can't.
I'm a married man.
She said, you ain't gonna steal.
You better not prowl.
Don't toast the dough with the go-go.
If you came back, don't growl.
If you came back, don't growl.
And now, a heart-rendering ditty by our own round of song,
Liverlips McGraw, sing it, man.
I've got a woman, she's got me
Whatever we do, we both agree
She ain't pretty, but I ain't too
The things we like are the things we do. A woman ain't pretty, but she don't swear none. She's kinda heavy, don't walk
Little Buford
Mama don't
Bear down his tail
Mama don't walk
Little Buford
I think you should shoot them instead
Fight!
Yes, folks, we only have high-class stuff on this show.
And now, here's a special treat out of Tampa.
Our own Trixie. out of Tampa, our own tricks. Tears will be the chaser for your wine.
As you leave this glen of mine.
Bright lights and taverns
That's where you spend your time
And tears will be the chaser for your wine How long is forever?
How soon is now or never?
How long will these heartaches linger on?
And how long will my baby be gone And the little sub-parts from the Sunshine State, Bonnie, Buggles, and Miuna.
I need a guy who gets me shook.
All I ever get from him's a dirty look.
It's the same way everywhere I'm found.
All the guys are turning me on, turn me down. All the guys turn me on, turn me down. Nothing ever seems worse than you.
Bum bum! The dog in the back holds. The last of the big-time swingers.
Swinging, Ted Barrett.
Well, there he goes.
He hardly knows the heart he's breaking.
I talked to him, but I don't think he understood.
Oh, just forget about the plans that we were making We did all that we could
Ooh
Y'all come up and see me sometime.
You hear?
Yeah.
As soon as I find a ladder, I'll be right up.
Yeah.
Let's go!

She's a magical, Vinny. Have a nice night guys. What did you think of the energy there?
That was amazing.
I love the Country Bears.
It's going to be sad to see this iteration of it go,
but happy that it's coming back.
Yeah, it's not going anywhere.
It's just going to change a little bit.
Correct.
But this, the the original oh my gosh
so awesome I know we said it before
but it's one of those
things where I love
seeing the crowds I love seeing it being appreciated
but like it's
I feel like it's only appreciated
when it's
going to leave us
we've seen this many times
in the time that I've lived here we have Maelstrom It's closing. It's going to leave us. We've seen this many times. Many times.
In the time that I've lived here, we have Maelstrom.
We had a great movie ride.
Everybody was all coming at the end.
Where were you when it mattered?
What's that?
Well, it was very, very good. Oh, it was unbearably good.
Harsh critic.
Oh, yikes.
Tough crowd.
I enjoyed it tremendously.
I wish it could stay forever.
Is that possible?
That's a good one. could stay forever. Is that possible?
That would be good.
Alright.
