Starting point is 00:00:00 Good evening, travelers. It's your old friend, Rick, here on the West Coast. And yes, I do say evening for a reason. We are here today, arriving just before sunset. Because there's something that's kind of uniquely available right now here in Disneyland. As you all know, unfortunately, Murphy, our Maleficent dragon, had a rather unfortunate fire recently. Sorry about the wonderful monorail going right over my head there. But unfortunately, Murphy caught on fire and that killed Fantasmic for a little bit. But that loss is your gain.
Starting point is 00:00:53 The Mark Twain is now running at night, which is an extremely rare thing here in Disneyland. And we're coming to the park just before sunset, so we can ride along the rivers of America after dark. I know so many of you enjoyed it last time, so I'm going to be throwing this in for you again. Yes, we still have turnstiles out here on the West Coast. I'm going to let you hear that. Hi, thank you. How are you?
Starting point is 00:01:22 Good. Hi. Thank you. Thank you very much. There's always something very special about any of the Disney parks after dark. and I hope you can hear it as well as we can see it. I'm sorry. The vast majority are marching their way out of the park while we march our way in. Let's just go. Thank you. Well, the sun is down. We can see the twain heading around the river bend. And we're going to head on over to get in line and enjoy a nighttime cruise. I'm just going to let you hear the sounds of the shore here in Frontierland as we walk over to the dock. I don't know, but for all of you, the sounds and the sights of a Disney park
Starting point is 00:04:34 just hit completely different once that sun sets. Going past the Golden Horseshoe Review here All the way to the Riverdoll so I'm just like, do you think I'm going to be able to get that? Right? We're going to cast it. Okay. I don't promise, but I just... I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:12 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.

Starting point is 00:05:18 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:19 I don't know. I don't know. Passengers aboard! Look at that! Look at that one here! Look at that! Look at that! Look at that! Look at that! Look at that! Look at that!
Starting point is 00:05:38 Look at that! Look at that! Look at that! Look at that! Look at that! Engine room, I had one quarter. Engine room, I had three quarters. Lesman, sound off. On the mark, on one. Mark Twain! That's the lesbian calling out the death parking so we can avoid running aground.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Mark Twain! Mark Twain is not just the name of a riverboat or a great American author. It also means the water here is two fathoms deep. That means it's safe enough for us to proceed on our steam-powered journey along the rivers of America. On our trip, we'll visit the magnificent Columbia of the Great Northwest, the graceful Missouri of the Windswept Plains, and the rugged Rio Grande along the border of Texas and Mexico. I'll be sure to point out interesting sights along the way and even tell you about a legend or two. We begin our trip right here on the mighty Mississippi, heading south and ending up down in New Orleans. do
Starting point is 00:07:29 this is 1787. She rounded Cape Horn and became the first American ship to gather the stars and stripes around the world. The most famous landmark in this area is Splash Mountain, made for the fact that everyone seems to have a splashin' good time when they visit. Splash Mountain is part of greater country. Our remote wilderness is filled with tall vines, rustic buildings, backward bayous, and one of those tall tales we often hear along the river. The story is that the birds and animals that live here can talk, sing, and dance. Like I said, just another tall tale. While you're in Critter Country, you might want to grab a paddle and try your hand at the Explorer Canoes.
Starting point is 00:08:34 You can work up a real good sweat rowing one of those around the river. Me? I'll take the comfort of the Mark Twain Riverboat any day. He is going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there.
Starting point is 00:08:47 He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there.
Starting point is 00:08:48 He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there.
Starting point is 00:08:48 He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there.
Starting point is 00:08:49 He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there.
Starting point is 00:08:49 He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. He's going to be there. As we head into the remote areas of the rivers of America, you're in for a real treat. I've been navigating these parts for years now, but I never get tired of taking in the breathtaking beauty of the Columbia River. The majestic trees. The stunning rock formations. The cascading waterfalls. The moose, deer, and elk along the banks. It's all so magnificent.
Starting point is 00:09:39 So beautiful. so Over Friday, we will be in my hotel with my mother in Alabama. Long to decide a movie for his opinion, and I do believe he's giving us a sign of peace. That means we're all clear as we head up the Missouri River to the home of the plane. Yeah, but not the whole airplane and see what happens when it came. And then you got one of these animals and then not the whole thing but you see it very hard or you wouldn't want to pass around. You just take it. You get that in the air.
Starting point is 00:10:36 You promise it. You get it. You get it. You get it. You get it. You get it. On the good side of Super Bowl is a wise person who, by sharing a story with us,
Starting point is 00:10:54 is telling the tale of how Whitman, the top young driver, to take a hollow out pass and carry it into that most wondrous, unfeasible instruments, the flute. It's a legend, but the culture has passed down from generation to generation. And there, just beyond the Shaman, is a tribe of plains Indians setting up their camp along the banks of the river. They'll be here for a few months and then move on.
Starting point is 00:11:41 As we continue our journey, keep a close eye on the riverbanks. There's a good chance we might catch a glimpse of moose, mountain lions, and other wildlife. Thank you. Maybe because we lost half of the original. They should let us go around twice. Yeah, that's really cool. We're now heading back into civilization along the Rio Grande. Off in the distance are the towering buttes of big Thunder Mountains. Rumor has it that the railroad built to haul gold out of the mountains has been seized by supernatural forces, and they've turned the mining trains into the wildest pride in the world. Of course, that may be just another legend of the river.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Just ahead is the Frontierland, where our journey begins. On behalf of our entire crew, I'd like to thank you for booking passage on the Mark Twain River Road. At this time, we ask that you prepare to disembark. If you're on one of the upper decks, please make your way down to the first deck. The stairway to the right side and the back of the boat may offer the quickest and easiest route. We hope you enjoyed your voyage with us and that you will visit us again real soon. Engine room. Approach ready at one quarter steam. Demand for byline. All passengers, stand by to go ashore.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Alice? Alice? Alice? I'm going to continue on and play a little bit of ragtime, you know. I love playing ragtime, you know. Here's one by the King of Ragtime. Starts off and it goes like this. Thank you. What is that? Thank you. That's a little stop drop from my little playing head. Thank you very much. Thank you. I wonder what the piano would sound like when you walk in and go to the horseshoe.
Starting point is 00:16:16 It would have been a long, long time ago in the galaxy far, far away. I think it might sound something like this. in the galaxy far far away. I think it might sound something like this. That was fine. ΒΆΒΆ Well, right now I'm going to play a good old Disney melody, a little like this. I love you. I love you. He had a carrot stuck in his nose, and he had a potato in his ear.
Starting point is 00:19:10 He said, doctor, I can't believe you. Please tell me what's wrong with you. The doctor said, well, obviously, you're not eating right now. But that very good doesn't know you. All right. Don't worry about it, Bill. Sit down. I'm happy to talk about it going? Come on down, girls. Get down. I'm going to have you talk about it.
Starting point is 00:19:28 We're going to take a stage, y'all. I'm going to give this last song to Disney 100. Right? This song is all dreams. It's not going to be true. It's not what this company's been all about. So come on,
Starting point is 00:19:44 you can clap your hands. All right, here we go. There's the break. And after this, don't be scared at all now. So come on, you can clap your hands. Let's clap.
