Hello travelers, welcome back to Walk About the World, a weekly audio safari.
Wait, wait, wait, hang on.
We've waited for a while, I can do it now.
Are you ready?
Yes, go.
No, I'm just so nervous.
Dang it!
Well, you can't drop the ball now.
Your weekly audio stroll through the parks and resorts of Walt Disney World in Florida.
And hey, sometimes...
Occasionally...
Occasionally...
Rick, we're talking about you.
Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
That's right!
I did it!
You did it.
You're a podcast, Josh.
I'm a podcast.
So we are back, as you can tell, in Animal Kingdom,
directly across from Feathered Friends in Flight.
Say that quickly three times.
Used to be the Upbird Adventure.
Used to be something else.
I'm me. I'm Jeremy.
Who are you?
I'm Josh.
Joshua.
Joshua Steele.
Steele. Joshua Steele. Steele.
Joshua Steele.
And right next to us is Chakranadi.
Let's see what he says.
Namaste, my friends.
Welcome to a wonderful advanced version of the day.
I'm Chakranadi playing the sitar,
19-stringed instrument from the days of the Maharajas.
That last song was called Kashmir Express,
and it was about going to the top of the mountain.
Now we're going to come back down to the bottom.
This is called Running Off the Tracks.
Running Off the Tracks.
Look, a macaw.
Macaws to macaws?
Macaws to macaws.
I hear the birdies a squawking over there.
So what are we going to do here?
Why are we here, Jeremy?
What are we doing?
What are we doing today?
It's so weird that you would think we would have a purpose.
That's cute.
This is true.
We actually do, though.
So today we are specifically in Asia because we're going to do some good old-fashioned hunting.
We're going to hunt.
Not for animals.
No. Why did you think that? No, for signs. We're sign hunting. We're going to hunt. Not for animals. No. Why did you think that?
No, for signs.
For sign hunting.
We were going to think about, well, actually, we did a
no record walkabout
in Harambe and looked at a ton of signs.
There's just
so much. There's just so much. So much.
But we are starting
here at the edge of Asia
to look at some of the signage over here because
it's amazing and so there are two distinct areas of asia in animal kingdom and they are mr steel
you've got your pop quiz you've got your anandapur yep that's where we're starting that's where we
are in the kingdom the kingdom of anandapur and then you have your... Yeah. Circazong.
I was going to say Circazong.
Yeah, that's it.
That's it, right?
Starting at Anandapur, which is down in the southern part, the southern, the foothills,
the...
I don't know what I'm talking about.
Is Circazong not part of Anandapur?
It is, right?
No, no.
Are you sure?
Yes.
Okay.
It's a done deal.
I just always thought it was part of...
Nope.
You have Anandapur, and then you have Circazong at the foothills of the Himalayas.
This is far south.
And so, like, when you go up, well, we're going to get there.
We're going to read a sign.
We're going to talk about the Kali River is here.
Anyway, all kinds of good stuff.
But right here at the Upbird Adventure is one of the best places in the park,
Asia specifically, to look at some signs that we're going to do that.
While the soothing sounds of Chakranadi play in the background. You guys ready?
I'm assuming you've said yes, but let's go. Let's go read some signs. Let's do it. Come on.
I've been guilty of just going over here and asking the cast members if I can walk through the queue just to read the signs.
Oh, there's so many right here alone on this weathered telephone pole.
This one looks familiar.
It does look familiar.
A certain producer of ours, Josh, recreated this one for the it does look familiar a certain producer of ours josh recreated
this one for the anandapur theater and then also we have the thirsty river bar which actually looks
new i mean the the sign the sign itself the flyer looks new yeah the thirst river bar isn't new the
sign looks new and then one of my favorite things which we can see down here because it's actually a sign at the place where you can get tea, is for the Royal Anandapur Tea Company.
It's blue.
I totally want it.
It's a beautiful sign.
Eventually, I may ask Philip Daly to recreate that one because it's gorgeous.
Guaranteed absolutely pure, it says.
Also, what do we have?
Oh, the Dancing Yeti Inn we have? Dancing Yeti Inn.
And we've got the
Maharaja Jungle Trek
poster here. Oh, okay.
The Banan Dapur bid you welcome
to a walking tour through the Royal
Forest. Maharaja Jungle
Trek. And there's just a lovely sign
here that says you are welcome.
Oh, hi Chakranati.
And apparently a guy named Tommy signed it. We're going to take a picture of that says you are welcome. Oh, hi, Chakranati.
And apparently a guy named Tommy signed it.
We're going to take a picture of Tommy's signature.
On the telephone structure,
it says, mind your feet.
Don't trip on the street.
And also it says BTS and Andapur.
What? What?
God, we don't have anything but bad jokes here.
All visitors kindly requested to enter theater
to the right of here.
To the right of here.
Right of here.
Right of right here, yes.
We thank you for your cooperation.
No fee necessary. Yes. We thank you for your cooperation. No fee necessary.
No.
Nope.
This says
hardest greetings. Not heartiest.
Heartest.
Heartest greetings. Best wishes
on the auspicious
occasion of happy and prosperous
Deshawn and Deepawali.
There's a sign for a clinic up there.
Ooh.
Also,
Hawaiian,
Iwian,
Mustika, local crafts,
famous woodcarvers.
I've seen woodcarvers in Harambe.
Yep.
I haven't seen any woodcarvers over here.
I haven't seen any over here.
Nope.
So, which is interesting because a lot of these signs, you know, the theming is so well done.
That we like, for instance, your Thirsty River Bar is an actual bar.
It is.
As you continue walking towards Everest.
Yep.
But something like that, I wonder if maybe that was hinted at.
That maybe there was going to be crafters at some point in this area.
There really should be, because it would be very cool to have some.
They have a little shop over here that sells almost handicrafts, but they're not really.
Okay, so there's a sign over here across the way that we can't get to, but it says Trekkers Spa and Tourism Center.
That's cool.
What else do we spy?
Tasty.
Yak and Yeti restaurant, which by the way...
Yeah, my tummy's full.
We just ate there.
Egg rolls, man. They're delicious.
Kobe Burger.
Do it. Kobe Burger?
Delicious. Can't go wrong?
No, it's delicious.
There's a sign down here for the Shangri-La Trekkers Inn but I think we can find some of this stuff on up the way too
what do we have here among the plants it says trees are sacred respect natural glory
I'm down with that so shall we take a right right? And we're going to go right. We're going
it does actually. We're going to go up here past Chakranadi is going to be on our right.
We're going to go up here towards the Yak and Yeti on our left.
Actually, let's go over here to Chakranadi real quick he's on a stage right next to the Discovery River Awesome.
Awesome.
I hear them.
No.
Protected monument signs?
What do we see?
Protected monument entry prohibited.
Archaeological survey of Anandapur.
It's cool they did some surveying here.
Also... Big banyan tree. Nice.
Nature wonders.
That's a scientific name, of course. There's just a sign that says big banyan Tree. Nice. Nature Wondering. That's a scientific name, of course.
There's just a sign that says Big Banyan Tree.
There's a sign over here that I've read before,
but it just says complaints about elephants to be made at the Anandapur Association for Animal Welfare.
I have no complaints about elephants.
Josh does.
They're too big.
I don't.
They're too big.
And I want to hug all the elephants, and I cannot hug all the elephants.
That's my complaint.
They're just too dang tall.
That's the problem.
So here is a billboard right underneath the upper wall of the bird sanctuary.
It's just got tons of amazing art on it.
Some homies are sitting here, so I'm not going to be super weird.
But, like, there's Arjun's Apples and the Shangri-La Trekkers Inn.
Anandapur Theater.
Drink Wallace sign.
Kali River sign.
There's a meditation center sign, bicycle for hire,
does that mean they're bicycling you, or you can hire, no, I think for hire probably means for rent,
right, I don't know, you can rent a bicycle maybe, over here there is a, there is a,
a honda hero motorcycle, but also a sign next to it that says
two-wheeler taxi stand.
So maybe the Honda is the two-wheeler taxi.
I have no idea.
It's got a long seat here.
It kind of does.
It's built for two.
Yep, yep.
A motorbike built for two.
A motorbike built for two.
And one of my favorite things is coming up.
Oh my goodness.
To the right.
You know what it is
it's the drink wallah
and are we going to investigate
yes we are
because it is covered with amazing signage
so drink wallah is the coca cola stand
the coca cola vendor
of animal kingdom but it is themed incredibly well so Drinkwalla is the Coca-Cola stand the Coca-Cola vendor of
Animal Kingdom but it is
themed incredibly well
I have the sign
you know this already
they got a bunch of cool signs down at the bottom
but also a bunch of people
sitting down there and it might be creepy and weird if I just
hung over their table and read the signs
but like
let's go to the sign
let's see what happens.
Of course, the beauty of Coca-Cola written in any language
is that you know it's always Coca-Cola.
That's right. Whether it's written in Arabesh, whatever.
There's a sign here that says a lovely river view to the right,
and they are correct. They are correct.
Keep calm.
Meditation centered.
Yes.
I need that.
Say that word.
Do it.
Go for it.
Silikon duduk.
I'm not going to argue it, but...
It's one of those deals where he can't prove me wrong.
All I know is it's got a sign with Sprite, Coca-Cola, Fanta, and Fres-T.
I've never heard of Fres-T.
Is that real?
Maybe.
I'm not sure.
What do we got here?
We have a sign here that says to Lower Garden, Lower Garden Seating,
which I'm going to head down because, because like that's just what i'm gonna do
there are a ton of people down there but not too many people i think we're good
one of the key phrases one of the key like touchstones of walk about the world is
make it weird oh wait we have a flotilla it's the drummer it's the drum flotilla.
Please stay around, flotillas.
I love you.
I gotta have a cowbell.
That was actually pretty good, Josh.
Thank you.
I can't read either one.
Wait.
Oriental chemical work.
Indore?
Huh.
I'm not... Indore is spelled I-N-D-O-R-E.
Indore?
Indore.
I don't know.
Let's go to the lower garden seating, Josh.
Here, I shall lead the way.
Down here where you can eat your food and drink your Anandapur tea.
And have the guests wonder what the heck you're doing.
But they actually have some amazing signs down here.
One of them is for Nayapur tea
and some beautiful bronze sculptures of birds.
I don't know what the birds are.
Kind of like herons or storks or whatever.
Yeah, there's one over here that I really like too well they have a
they have a Bengal
Royal Tea
finest quality tea which is amazing
take a picture of the Bengal tea
Bengal tea like Bengal Tiger
I'm saying it wrong
we have a lantern festival
at the historic waterfront
that should really be a thing, actually.
Also, that sign looks new.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then one of my all-time favorite signs that I totally want on my wall is for anandapur seeds.
I think Josh took a picture of it.
Of course, drink while the sign.
Appropriate.
Mine's bigger.
Yes, yes, Josh's is bigger.
We're not going to go there.
Lower garden sign on what would appear to be rusty metal is gorgeous.
And there's some signs on the back door of the building, too.
I'm going to read real quick.
This awesome wooden door.
What do we see here?
English language class.
Rolling wheel driving school.
Now all people can drive.
That's very nice.
Yeah.
Very inclusive.
Specializing in glow signs. I'm assuming
a glow sign would be... Like a neon?
A neon sign. Or just lit? Something that's lit?
Yeah. And then
lastly here at Drinkwala is a beautiful
sign in yellow and
blue that just says Drinkwala Cold Drinks and
Refreshments. Rohana Burhan,
proprietor. If you ever wanted
to know... Oh, sorry!
If you ever wanted to know who the proprietor is now you know
cast members are like will you get out of the way
these guys
and they're reading their signs
darn sign readers
okay
some lovely signage on
a telephone pole here too
mandala gifts which we're going
to visit shortly.
And then some flags that say,
welcome to Asia, Anandapur travel and tourism,
which is beautiful.
Yak and Yeti on your left, by the way.
Coming up on some of the coolest signage.
But before we do,
the local food cafes of Anandapur are on your left,
otherwise known as Yak and Yeti Walk-Up.
Oh, here we are.
The Royal Anandapur Tea Company.
This is an actual tea shop over here to the right next to the river.
But the sign is amazing.
And I think Joshua is going to take a picture of it.
And I think in the ethos of the park and the area,
the tea comes from the Circazong area.
I could be wrong.
But I think the Anandapur Railway
that is the basis for Expedition Everest,
brings the tea from the mountains down here to Anandapur.
So we're going to take a left, but before we take a left...
So here at the corner, we have another amazingly themed telephone pole with all kinds of signage.
And some of this signage has been here for literal
years maybe maybe some of the original signage because it's faded the wood is all gray and
crackling and so you have a sign that says the seven summits and hotel bouquit to the left along
with this way to the bat cliffs and the bats are found i think are they found on the jungle track
i think yeah the bat house which is also atavika Station number 12, I think, the Bat House.
We'll get to that. And then we have a sign for the Cali River Rapids, and it says, oh, wait a second,
wait a second, Anandapur Rail Services, we were just talking about this. Now serving Circazong with routes to Darjeeling, Gayabari,
Silaguri, and Jalapaguri?
I probably said all of those wrong. These signs, by the way, are
by Bhavani Signed Painting. Isn't that cool? They look amazing.
Also another sign for the Lantern Festival.
Okay, so we're taking a left towards the maharaja jungle trek and first that we see on our left is the baktapur market gifts and silks and sarongs if you need a good sarong now you know where to
get one also i gotta say this thing the trekking guide to the township of Anandapur.
That's amazing.
Amazing sign.
Gibbons in the background.
Are they gibbons?
Impractical.
They are, right?
I think they're gibbons.
Yep.
New World apes?
Maybe.
And if you thought, Expedition Everest is down,
there probably won't be any people over here.
That answer is wrong.
We're wrong about that.
There's a lot of people over here.
Right here we have the
Bakhtapur Market Hats, Footwear, and Spices sign up above.
I just like the simplicity of this.
Hats, shoes? Shoes. Done. Yeah, you're done. You don't even have any negative space in the A. I just like the simplicity of this. Hats, shoes?
Done. Yeah, you're done.
You don't even have any negative space in the A. It's just the shape.
You want hats? You want shoes? You found it.
Easy.
And there's a sign over here that we talked
about before that's got some kind of deep
deep Anandapur trivia
going on here, but it says stop the
TTAC Logging Company.
And the TTAC Logging. And the TTAC logging company
is the company that you see on
the Kali River Rapids
that's doing the logging.
They're the bad people, right?
And they're having a town meeting
and you can meet them at
Atavika Station No. 12 Thursday evening.
Atavika Station No. 12 is actually
the bat house on the jungle track.
Are we doing the jungle track? Are there signs on the jungle track? There's not many signs on the jungle track are we doing the jungle track are there
signs on the jungle there's not many signs on the jungle track i don't think we should do it
we could talk about the animals but like i was just trying to get an excuse to look at animals
i think we could always do the jungle track
it's very well themed but like the whole lightning lane thing doesn't seem to really go.
Which thing are we talking about?
Oh, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Agreed. The Cali River. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. This Lightning Lane sign feels a little more natural than this one.
Agreed. By the way, we're looking at the entrance of the Cali River queue.
Cali River sign, and they have Lightning Lane signs there that are sort of appropriately themed.
But, you know, what are you going to do?
It still takes you out of it.
A little bit.
Takes you out a little bit a little bit and i am uh
gonna head on down to the entrance of the jungle trek but then we'll come back and go to the right
the area to the left is amazingly themed with all kinds of cool signs in there
it's where you sit and eat around the corner from Yak and Yeti Walk Up, but it's pretty packed.
We'll pick a down day to go in there and investigate.
Kali River Expedition Storage Lockers.
Signs cool.
Subject is boring.
We do have water features that are aimed in such a way that if you're not paying attention,
it will drench you in all the wrong places around your things.
Entrance ahead to the Maharaja Jungle Trek.
The sign is amazing.
You can see monkeys and tigers and dragons.
Oh, my.
Please enjoy this walking tour of the old royal forest.
What is the tiger camp?
I'm assuming that that would probably be the area that's themed for the tigers up there.
On the trek?
It says Kataka Tiger Camp for best mountain views and wildlife. Our beautiful location on the Chakranadi River.
And the Chakranadi River is the river you were on in the Kali River Rapids,
where you see the TTAC logging company
doing their bad, bad things.
And very quickly, I want to read
just the beginning of this,
because it gives you the backstory of
the forest and the jungle trek.
So it says,
The Anandapur Royal Forest.
Since very ancient times, the Rajas of Anandapur have hunted tigers in this forest.
In A.D. 1544, King Bhima Diskapati decreed the forest a royal preserve
closed to all, save his guests, and built a royal hunting lodge there.
See, that doesn't happen anymore.
No more hunting.
Now it's a preserve, and now you can tour it and see the animals.
There was a hunting grounds at first.
Thanks, Joe.
Thanks, Joe Rohde.
Just everything.
You're amazing, pal.
Whenever you look at anything, you just say, thanks, Joe.
Anything at this park, thanks.
And in the wood carved in the entrance, Anandapur Royal Forest, it looks amazing.
I've actually never noticed that.
Nor have I.
Very cool.
This is why we're here, folks.
This is why we do this.
This is why we're here.
You've got to slow down every once in a while.
Just slow down.
You know, let the people breeze by you.
Read some signs.
Take a breath.
I mean, really, we've talked about looking at the parks of works of art, and you can't do that unless you intentionally slow down.
Because this, to me, is like you play a video game.
You've got the main quest and you've got the side quests, right?
So you can do your main quest and go do your roller coasters and all that.
Nothing wrong with that. That's why you're here.
But also do your side quests, man.
Hunt down your signs and the details because people worked on this stuff.
This is one of my favorites.
The sign says
Maharaja Jungle Trek. See bats?
No wait. See tigers.
Bats and dragons and they're all represented.
I just love...
See the little temple in the background there?
That's cool.
Just the hand paintedness
but also the shape. I love the shape
that they kind of bolted on the
arrow, the triangle to it so it's
not a separate scene.
Love this stuff.
Let's go.
All right, so...
Cold beer sign, that's always appropriate.
And I think this is as far as we can go, because this is the exit of the Collier River Rapids?
Is that where we are?
Correct.
All right, so now we've got to turn back.
Yep.
All right, I will reconvene with you guys when we get around the corner near where the monument is,
where we look towards Everest.
All right, see you in a second.
Whew!
Can you hear that breeze?
Breezy as it is. And all around us are eucalyptus trees
am I right Josh
it is incredibly pleasant
we're looking right directly towards the forbidden mountain
a certain someone may or may not have left their phone
a while ago,
so I had to talk to guest services.
Please respecting our temple area.
Please.
Please respecting our temple area.
Visitors, please do not enter except on festival days.
I'm not sure if it's a festival day, so I'm just going to stay out.
Beautiful weathered wood and I have heard
the legends that this may be a time capsule
over here, I don't know if that's true or not
which?
the monument over here
with the vines growing on it
do you happen to know whether that's a legend or if it's true?
even if I did i don't
think she can't say they they will put her in the time capsule if she answers
but it's cool supposedly in that structure over there there's some cool stuff hidden by the
imaginaries only roadie knows so we have Vista of the Himalayas here.
There's a sign.
I'm not even going to try to read these.
You guys can feel free.
Well, some of them we can.
I can read this one.
K2.
There you go.
Hey.
That one's easy.
Mount Everest we can read.
The Forbidden Mountain is in the middle.
The rest of them, yep, I don't think I'm going to try.
But there's seven peaks, right?
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven?
Yes.
By the Anandapur Tourist Department.
Take me a picture of this metal little corner thing here.
So cool. I love it.
They have these little telescopes where you can look at the mountain.
And right in front of us, the new setup for Kite Tails.
Under the auspices of being a river rafting rental and guide service.
Which is kind of cool.
If you can hear the ambience, that's coming from Gupta's gear.
Which we're going to see here in a second.
Gupta's a good guy.
Okay. Gupta. Gupta's a good guy.
If you've been to California, they have eucalyptus trees everywhere.
Just like, just everywhere.
Not just in the park, just all over the place. But I don't know of any other place in the Walt Disney World area where they have eucalyptus
other than right here in this corner.
Which is kind of cool.
Josh? Yes, sir? have eucalyptus other than right here purple wall, etc., this is one of them.
Now, they have a blue wall in Batuu.
There's actually an Instagram account called Batuu Blue Wall.
But here, just as you enter Circazong they're the restrooms it's the restrooms building
but it's the Yeti Palace Hotel and the wall has beautiful blue doors and it's one of the
picture walls that you can take let's keep going Some of the best and most obscure and awesome
Animal Kingdom tracks that you can hear are played
here at Gupta's Gear,
which is on the left, right before Everest.
Actually, it's right before the ice cream,
the Anandapur ice cream truck.
Right. Signs in cages.
So amazing.
And over here
we just have
a bulletin board with all kinds of cool stuff
including one of my favorite
signs ever that Josh recently
recreated. Himalayan Escapes
Tours and Expeditions. There and back
with the Flying Yak.
With the Flying Yak.
Here we have
Snow and Earth Travel Tours
Limited. Sightseeing. All travel service.
Good price.
The Dancing Yeti Inn, which is one of my favorite
little logos.
His little face. Isn't he cute?
I want that stamp.
And the like little logos his little face he's isn't he cute and the deading the dancing not the deading the dancing yeti in says take your chances where the yeti dances i mean really that's amazing
we have anandapur polo Club Expedition. All right.
And then an always popular...
The Yeti.
The Yeti.
Which is a tea shop.
Right? See? Get it?
There is a symposium, a talk,
happening next week, by the way,
on the fact that the Yeti is real.
Mr. Professor
Pimadorje of Circa Zong Village
is giving
this talk. Also, what do we have? Anybody want to go to
the Sassy Yeti? Of course.
What is it?
It's a
Tibetan women's
boutique. So it's a Tibetan
women's co-op Boutique?
If anybody...
Coop.
I said it right.
You said it right.
It's Coop.
If anybody ever asks you
would you like to go to the Sassietti,
you say yes.
One of my favorites,
and then we'll get out of here.
It says Mountain Meds.
We have it.
And what do they have?
Antiseptics, burn creams, sunblock, tummy fixers.
Because, like, sometimes you need your tummy fixed, baby.
Bandages and throat lozenges.
Come to Llama Surrings?
Medical supply?
Yeah, your guess is as good as mine.
And then the Umbrella Clinic.
If you have a broken umbrella, take it to the Umbrella Clinic.
It's kind of cool that they would repair an umbrella.
Gupta's gear has all kinds of mountaineering equipment.
And also incredibly ornate carved wood
that is absolutely genuine,
carved in Bali,
imported by Joe Rohde and team.
Incredible.
Can you tell what the sign was?
It was very, very, very old paper signage there.
RK Mustard, something or other.
I know, folks, this is super exciting.
I promise we will include visual aids.
Yes, Josh says we will include visuals here.
So the Anandapur ice cream truck is to the left,
which is incredibly ornately decorated
with all kinds of goodies, tigers and boats
and lions and elephants and all kinds of stuff. The Thirsty River Bar directly ahead.
Saw some signs for that earlier. We did. On our trek. It's one of my favorite places.
The theming is amazing. The sign is great. It has these wonderful travel stickers all over it. Ooh, I want to take a look at that.
Oh, man.
So they... On the opposite side as well.
The little thing, the little area where they have the napkins and whatnot
is a turquoise wooden thing that has all kinds of cool stickers on it,
including some of the things that we just read.
What?
They're trying to steal these. They can't find them. Bro, they look so good. These are
clearly new. They're not worn. Snowman Trex. That's cool. Do we got a picture of this,
Josh? Snowman Trex? That's kind of awesome. Dude.
So anyway, I'm not doing my description very clear.
They're all stickers.
They're sticker size and they're amazing and they absolutely should sell them.
I don't understand why they don't.
All kinds of this stuff over here.
What?
Because we, the small businesses, are the ones doing that.
And hopefully they're going to let us continue, yes.
I say us as like I have something to do with it.
It's not.
It's Josh.
Some stuff over here to the right that I want to take in.
Structure here that forms the outer boundary of, like, the viewing area for Kite Tails
and what would have been Rivers of Light, RIP.
This is the Anandapur Northwest 2686 building.
Advertisements for Gupta's Gear, which we just passed.
Also, Furba General Store.
And then we have Cafe Chital,
which I think we've mentioned in the past.
It says, welcomes you to enjoy delicious food and relaxing drinks
in Italian, Portuguese, Indian, Pakistani, French, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, USA, and British.
That's a lot.
What have we got inside?
We're coming towards the close.
Dancing Yeti.
Rakshi?
I don't know what that means.
Yes, sir?
What do we have? 7th of July, 1961.
Ring a bell at all?
Wouldn't be Disneyland.
That's the 17th.
I don't know.
July 7th, 1961.
That's when the
Anandapur Northwest 2686
building was constructed.
I don't know.
Numbers gotta mean something.
They have to mean something.
This is Disney.
It's gotta be something.
We'll find out.
What about Mountain D Lights?
Art Gallery. Nice carvings.
The D Lights.
We're coming towards the close here.
We're almost at Everest.
Everest is down for some amount of time that I'm not sure.
They're supposedly reopening in April.
And this is the area where they have the wonderful prayer flags all across the
walking path. Absolutely love
them. I've tried to buy them
twice and they're not here anymore, so bummer.
And then they also
have lights here in the evening.
You know they must have them.
They do kind of look new.
These are new prayers.
Old school signage. They do kind of look new Where?
Original Everest sign?
I don't think I actually would have known that
This is like The signage they used opening during the 2006...
Opening Everest logo?
Mm-hmm.
Okay, to the left we have the Circazong Bazaar,
which is also the exit queue and shop for Everest.
And we were in there recently, and I can tell you there is zero ambience
and almost as little merchandise
because all the shops right now,
they don't have a lot.
So the very last thing,
we have another entrance to the Rivers of Light Stadium
over here with some cool signs.
And then I think we're going to wrap up
because we're almost out
and we're going to transition to Dinoland.
A really cool metal slash tin recreation of the Yeah T sign.
Can we get that one? Because that one's lovely. We have a store for balloons and lanterns.
Our products guaranteed to take flight, it says.
Yeah? Uh-huh.
Call Miss Teresa, by the way.
And what are those? Is that, uh...
What? The flowers?
Lotus?
Lotus, yeah.
Lotus flower?
I don't know if that makes sense.
Lovely red hand-painted lotus flower
on the door. I'm going to get out of the way, by the way.
On the wall
over here is another representation of the Royal
Anandapur tea company that's
hand-painted on the wall. It looks gorgeous.
Yeah, tea versus
Royal Anandapur. And so, Yeti versus Royal Ormonda.
And so, that was a lot of sign reading, Josh.
Gosh, so much sign reading.
So much sign reading.
But it was fun, or incredibly boring.
You get to be the judge.
With us today was...
Aaron.
Aaron.
Aaron's a local here, and he was in the park and hung out with us for a little bit.
But, yeah, I think we're going to wrap it up here.
We're at the bridge to Dinoland, and, like, that doesn't really fit with ages.
We're signing off here.
Although there are some cool signs in Dinoland, too.
That's another show. That's another show.
That's another show.

when I said that. That's weird, right?
We will see you in another one of those
tomorrows on another
episode of Walk About the World. Bye everybody.
Namaste.
That was a really good way to end this.
