Welcome back to Walk About The World, your weekly audio stroll through the parks and resorts at Walt Disney World, and the occasional stroll through Disneyland in California. Thanks for joining us this week. Today we are finding ourselves at the always beautiful, always vibrant, and ever wild Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park. We're here early, just after rope drop. Take a leisurely stroll around the park this morning. I think we'll walk from the entrance of the park through the oasis, maybe hang out in

Discovery Island for a bit, then head over to Dinoland USA take in some ambience there perhaps we'll catch the Nemo show while we're over there in that area other than that not a big plan, just gonna take you for a chill walkabout this morning and we will see where it takes us

let's walk about Animal Kingdom. Alright, we are just in through the tap styles. We're going right. Entering the Oasis. Which indeed is just that, especially on a hot Florida summer day. It really is so much cooler with all the trees, the shade. Oftentimes you'll find Divine walking around in this area. Always very busy in the morning

in this area of the park, obviously, because everybody just wants to get through to the good stuff. We're going to walk around the oasis this morning. See what we can see with our ears. The water is so clear that you can see the sea. We cut through over the other side and now we're winding around these pathways, and we've come to a bridge with a waterfall. Thank you. Sambal Tree of life straight ahead. Looks like we got the bird show in front of the tree.

Rainforest. Rainforest. Rainforest. It's a better question....can have when they come down here and land. And that's how we're communicating to them, hey, thanks so much for coming down. We appreciate that. You probably notice how loud they are, right? That is a fraction of how loud a macaw can be. A lot of people see these animals and want them in their house as a pet.

But we're here to tell you that they're not just loud. They're destructive. They live a long time. We're talking 50 to 60 years, and Kayla and her friends are in this black zone because birds like this go to the bathroom a couple times every hour. We definitely recommend that you perches out, but I'm going to invite you to come even closer. We're a short show, but the best has yet to come. So fill in all these spots, folks, especially if you want the opportunity for a bird to fly right over the top of your head. Now, I know I said we work with eight different species. I don't know. Do we want that? There are critically endangered species found in Bolivia, and there are fewer than 300 blue-throated macaws in the wild today. That's it. That makes them the rarest species of macaw in the wild. And as scary as that sounds,

it's not all bad news. We have partnered with an organization called the World Merit Trust and they're working on breeding and releasing blue-throated macaws into the wild and hope that they don't give up loose to that population because as cool as it is to see just two macaws wouldn't it be even cooler to see a sky full of macaws do you all want to see that right here right now well it's as easy as looking up to the sky Okay. See him? Look at that. Now, this is a super-worldly protecting in wild places.

We also have some of those blue-throated macaws I mentioned. There's one right over here by Megan at the Angel Tree of Life next to a scarlet macaw. That is Degas, and once again that is the rarest species of macaw found in the wild today. There's also one with Taylor right here next to this other scarlet macaw. Really a truly unique sight to see. But as quickly as these birds can, remember when you're watching them, but definitely keep your phones and cameras on because these birds can leave at any time. Just walked around the back side of Chester and Hester's. See if there's any good ambience back here. This is over the exit over by Dinosaur, just behind the gift shop. Another very cool spot. Lots of trees. All these great illustrations at the exit. Dinosaur ride. Some of the dinos you come in contact with.

Aliorama. That's the one eating the crocodile. Of course the Carnotaurus. Definitely not our dino. Styracosaurus. Styracosaurus. Beautiful illustrations. Beautiful illustrations. I'll loop around here, around the reflection pool in front of the Dino Institute,

where, of course, you'll see the sculpture of Aladar, which was at one time, before the movie, for that year or two, was the Styracosaurus. Thank you. One thing I absolutely love about this attraction, especially the building itself, I'm going to spoil the magic here for you, ruin the magic for you, but this is one of those attractions for me that you walk into and you are completely under its spell i mean you think that you are absolutely going into this dino institute and you stay there and then you go down into the basement of that dyno institute and you get in this time rover and you are transported back in time what you don't think about is oh wait i'm just in a big show building behind this facade

and i love that about this ride so much so that the facade itself has trees on the top of the building, and from that forced perspective, the trees behind it. Really, it's just hiding the show building in its go-away green glory. Mama, there's more to it. I love it. Okay, I'll stop talking now. Since we came in through the exit, now I'm getting to the entrance

where there is, of course, more beautiful attraction artwork on the pillars. I'm going to go to the back row, use your lever to tip forward or back. Ready? And let's go for a swing! That's that owl. All right, we're going to go down for the new ID. These buttons are going up, up, up, and away. Thank you. Walking under Cementosaurus, which is the large green dino at the entrance to Chester and Hester's Dino-rama

who used to be an orangish-yellow color. I believe they turned him green for the eyelines, sight lines for the Blight Show. Which is where Kite Tales is now. Everyone's favorite Kite Tales. Which they're setting up for now. Greetings, friends! Welcome to Disney Kite Tales,

The Marine Life Institute houses many aquatic species, including fish from the wild who need our help. Like the group we found in the bay, floating in plastic bags. For these, we remember the three R's.

In the big blue world and all of them are waiting for me. That's what I'm afraid of. Hey, Dad, do you know how old sea turtles are?

I know you're excited, but let's take a little pause. Sharks are not our friends, Nemo. Haven't you seen Jaws? You don't want to meet a swordfish.

You don't want to meet a whale. You don't want to meet a whale? You need me around to watch your tail! In the big blue world, you're just a little fish. Whoa! In the big blue world, you'll be seen as a tasty dish.

No. You mean so much to me. I don't know what I would do. In this beautiful new world. If something should happen to you. No need to worry Dad, I'll be okay. I'm scared you'll end up as a clownfish fillet. You can turn right around. We could wait one more year. Don't be so bored, Dad.

This is the part where Nemo arrived at the dentist. And he didn't even have an appointment. No, our tank was just a pit stop. The little guy was a present for the dentist's niece, Darla. Darla? Oh, no! She's a fish killer! She shakes the bag! Nah, we weren't going gonna let him go belly up.

I had a plan. Dad? Hey, kid. You'll get back to your dad. I've been watching you. You're small enough to break us free. But I don't swim well. I got a bad fin.

One bad fin has never stopped me. Your escape plan has never worked, Gil. But this time, we got him! I promise, we will all get out as long as we can swim together. We swim together.

Cooperation is the secret to our success. Yeah! We swim in harmony and we study dentistry with our Bishop Pablo Sherman DBS! Sharkbait, you're one of us now, and we can't send you off to your death.

Nah, we just had to find another way. Remember, all drains lead to the ocean. And speaking of oceans, Nemo's dad was still out there trying to find him. Yeah, but there was one big problem. The mask. It's gone. That was the only chance I had of finding my son. Harpo. Nemo. Correct.

Mr. Crumpy Gills, life's full of little spills. Don't throw your fins up in disgust. Oh, what's the use of floating? They're not going anywhere. Swish your tail and dive on in And trust That if you Just keep swimming, just keep swimming

When did you hear of Peter reporting to pretty two-wheeled mule sitting? Sitting! Aaaaaah! What you want to do is follow the A and C dance the East Australian carrot. There's a big blue world out there That can make a fish feel small In a bud! But when friends put their weight It's not so big at all To Sydney! So, Marlin and Dory were headed to the EAC Ugh, if only we, because back at the tank Nemo was losing hope

his dad was even out there at all. Not my dad, he's not brave enough. He's afraid of whales and sharks and stuff. He's probably angry, cause I was bad. I'm sure that he's not coming. Not by day. But his dad was coming. At that very moment, Arlen and Doreory found themselves cruising with a giant sea turtle. And he was, as the kids say, totally awesome! Dude, you have traveled far.

Who told the dolphins? Who told the albatross? Who told the pelicans? Who flew that news right to our windowsill? Nemo, did you hear? Your dad's been out fighting the entire ocean looking for you. My father really can fire a dance! He's in the Sydney Arbor right now!

Whoa! That's my dad, I knew all along Underneath, he's really brave and strong He's on his way now, and I'm so glad. Above the fish in the ocean, that's my dad! Nero, look out! You, help me! Everybody, jump in!

Together, we swim together. Yay! Oh no! Darla! Gale! Fishing! Not the bag! I can't look! Fishing, fishing, we've got fishing!

Nemo! He's gone! Hurry up! No! We're too late. Hey, I'm so sorry. It's over. Nemo's gone. I couldn't! I'm going home now.

Wait, where are you going? If it wasn't for you, I never would have made it here. So thank you. Wait, stop. No one's ever stuck with me for so long before. Please don't go away. Please. Dad? Dad? Nemo? Dad? I thought I lost you, I saw you belly up! I was just pretending something flushed me down the drain! Thank goodness you're safe! Dad... I don't hate you. No, no. I'm so sorry, Nemo.

Hey, guess what? I met a sea turtle, and he was 150! 150? Wow! So tell me, Dad, what's it like to cross an entire sea? Well, son, I don't know. Let's go home together, then you'll tell me. Wanna make it three? So Nemo and his dad were finally reunited. And inspired by Nemo's big escape, we hitched our own ride out of the tank on the plastic bagging sprint. And that's how it ended up here.

Yeah! Oh, I just love a happy ending. But wait, what happened once they got back home to the reef? Well, it's fleece day. What do you say we go find Nemo and see for ourselves? Yay! Catch you later,
